- 0:00Speaker 1: My name is Martin. I am the singer and guitar
- 0:04Speaker 1: player in transmission.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Beautiful, Thanks so much. Catching Up is a powerful track.
- 0:10Speaker 2: What inspired it and how does it reflect the rest
- 0:12Speaker 2: of betterment?
- 0:16Speaker 1: The inspiration really comes from just all the things that
- 0:19Speaker 1: are happening in our world. There's a lot of frustrations.
- 0:23Speaker 1: There's a lot of bad things happening in our world,
- 0:26Speaker 1: and I feel like a lot of people kind of
- 0:29Speaker 1: get stuck in their own little narrow window of their
- 0:33Speaker 1: own lives and don't really pay attention to what's happening
- 0:38Speaker 1: around the world. And so that's why it's you know,
- 0:40Speaker 1: the lyrics of like, you know, when it's out of
- 0:43Speaker 1: sight and out of mind, it's that's easy if you
- 0:45Speaker 1: don't care about what's happening. But eventually that's going to
- 0:48Speaker 1: come back around and catch up with us. You know.
- 0:51Speaker 1: It's like whether it's environmental issues or civil issues, you know,
- 0:58Speaker 1: if we ignore these things and just focus on our
- 1:00Speaker 1: own individual lives, things aren't going to get better, and
- 1:03Speaker 1: it's going to catch up to us. Yeah, definitely. The
- 1:07Speaker 1: rest of the EP, I mean, that's that's basically the
- 1:10Speaker 1: fame across the board is just there's a lot of
- 1:12Speaker 1: I have a lot of frustration with the lack of
- 1:16Speaker 1: care that people put into their decisions on a daily basis.
- 1:20Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:20Speaker 1: It's like we just tend to like worry about what
- 1:24Speaker 1: we have to do in our own lives and without
- 1:26Speaker 1: what the consequences are or how our decisions affect the
- 1:29Speaker 1: rest of the world, you know.
- 1:30Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely, and like the bigger picture, how how little
- 1:33Speaker 2: actions can affect the bigger picture as well.
- 1:35Speaker 1: I think, yeah, And you know, being individuals, it's like
- 1:41Speaker 1: we can't change things individually, you know, on the grand scale,
- 1:46Speaker 1: But the only power we do have is the decisions
- 1:49Speaker 1: we make every day with our money, how we spend
- 1:52Speaker 1: our money. You know, that's kind of the only real
- 1:55Speaker 1: control we have. And since everything's rooted in money and
- 1:58Speaker 1: greed anyways, you know, it's like, and of the only
- 2:00Speaker 1: way we can make the difference is paying attention to
- 2:03Speaker 1: how we spend and who we spend our money with
- 2:05Speaker 1: and where we contribute that, you know. So it's like
- 2:10Speaker 1: trying to take that extra step to really think about
- 2:12Speaker 1: it when we're making those decisions is kind of the
- 2:15Speaker 1: hope and the role.
- 2:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I like it. I like a very strong and
- 2:19Speaker 2: powerful message behind the album and the title as well,
- 2:23Speaker 2: betterment suggests growth. What kind of personal or creative changes
- 2:26Speaker 2: shaped the EP.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Oh Boy, Well, you know, we've been a band for
- 2:34Speaker 1: quite a while and we kind of just take things
- 2:36Speaker 1: slow and we're just doing whatever feels natural. And our
- 2:41Speaker 1: sound has kind of changed over the years and has progressed,
- 2:46Speaker 1: and we started out with a bit more of like
- 2:49Speaker 1: a kind of post rock instrumental vibe, and over the years,
- 2:55Speaker 1: myself personally, I've just always kind of wanted to like
- 2:58Speaker 1: learn to sing more and better and so put in
- 3:01Speaker 1: a lot of effort to try and do that, and
- 3:03Speaker 1: so it just kind of naturally evolved into that where
- 3:05Speaker 1: now we just have a bit more of like a
- 3:08Speaker 1: vocal forward, kind of alternative indeed kind of sound. So
- 3:15Speaker 1: it's kind of just this idea of trying to do
- 3:19Speaker 1: better in all aspects and just trying to move forward,
- 3:22Speaker 1: whether that's creatively or like we've talked about, you know,
- 3:25Speaker 1: making a difference in the world. Y're just trying a
- 3:28Speaker 1: little bit harder, you know, in all aspects, and that's
- 3:32Speaker 1: just kind of where we ended up. And you know,
- 3:34Speaker 1: it's it's quite a bit difference. It's funny. We were
- 3:35Speaker 1: listening to like our older material and just campaign and
- 3:39Speaker 1: be like, wow, we totally sound like a different band,
- 3:41Speaker 1: but well into it. You know, it's been a lot
- 3:44Speaker 1: of fun trying different things and kind of still holding
- 3:47Speaker 1: onto a little bit of the original sound.
- 3:48Speaker 2: And yeah, that's it. So do you think you've not
- 3:53Speaker 2: found your sound because obviously you found your sound quite
- 3:55Speaker 2: a while ago, but this it's maybe changed for the better.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I think so. I think over the years, we've
- 4:02Speaker 1: always had some songs that were much softer and lighter
- 4:06Speaker 1: and more tranquil, and then we've had some songs that
- 4:08Speaker 1: were heavier and more aggressive, and we always kind of
- 4:10Speaker 1: leaned towards more of the heavier songs. A lot of
- 4:13Speaker 1: us then come from like hardcore backgrounds and stuff, and
- 4:16Speaker 1: so I think we just naturally gravitate towards that direction
- 4:21Speaker 1: while still trying to incorporate all the layers of the
- 4:23Speaker 1: atmosphere and you know, melodies with the guitars and stuff.
- 4:26Speaker 1: But yeah, I think when we play live, it's like
- 4:29Speaker 1: we always tend to make a set list that's a
- 4:30Speaker 1: little bit on the heavier side. So yeah, I think
- 4:33Speaker 1: this new EP has a bit more of that.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Awesome and had it. Working with Bo Virtual influenced the
- 4:41Speaker 2: sounder direction of the project.
- 4:46Speaker 1: I've done many records with BO, and I hope and
- 4:49Speaker 1: pray that I can do every record from here on
- 4:52Speaker 1: out with Bo because he's literally just the best person
- 4:54Speaker 1: to work with. It's just always a good experience. He's
- 4:58Speaker 1: so good at what he does, and it's interesting because
- 5:02Speaker 1: it's he definitely helps mold the sound, but he's very
- 5:06Speaker 1: open to just letting the bin and like do what
- 5:08Speaker 1: we're going to do. He just kind of like picks
- 5:10Speaker 1: up on what we're trying to do and goes, oh,
- 5:12Speaker 1: maybe you know, go this direction or do this and that,
- 5:14Speaker 1: and it's always like it always feels like it's still less.
- 5:17Speaker 1: It's I know some producers are very like involved where
- 5:20Speaker 1: they're like, no, you have to completely change this, do
- 5:22Speaker 1: something different. But doesn't do that, and it just like
- 5:25Speaker 1: takes what we have and makes a sound way better
- 5:27Speaker 1: than we are.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Yeah, that's awesome. So you could really like give him
- 5:31Speaker 2: what you guys had and then he could add his
- 5:33Speaker 2: little sort of twiaks or whatever in there.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly, and both so like musically talented and diverse
- 5:41Speaker 1: that he can kind of just like adapt to whatever
- 5:43Speaker 1: band's doing their thing. You know, it's not like it
- 5:46Speaker 1: just has to be Bow's sound. It's in the band
- 5:49Speaker 1: and like just really helps us enhance what we're doing.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Yeah, that's weak and post rock realized heavily on atmosphere.
- 5:58Speaker 2: How do you keep structure an emotion shouldn't balance in
- 6:00Speaker 2: your writing.
- 6:04Speaker 1: I think for us, we've always been kind of a
- 6:06Speaker 1: live feel type of writing band, and so these songs,
- 6:12Speaker 1: similarly to our previous stuff has all been just like
- 6:15Speaker 1: product of us getting together and jamming together. Yeah, and
- 6:18Speaker 1: so it's just like kind of going off of feel.
- 6:21Speaker 1: I think the only difference now is like now I'm
- 6:24Speaker 1: in the back of my head going okay, at some
- 6:25Speaker 1: point I'm gonna have to try and sing over this.
- 6:27Speaker 1: So how do we kind of structure that to make
- 6:29Speaker 1: it make sense? But generally we're just going off feel
- 6:32Speaker 1: and like what feels right. How many times we're doing something,
- 6:35Speaker 1: how many times things repeat, you know, what kind of changes, crescendos,
- 6:39Speaker 1: you know, heavy parts, whatever. It's all just like us
- 6:42Speaker 1: in the studio together kind of jamming feeling it out.
- 6:45Speaker 2: Yeah, that's awesome. And because you guys do have that
- 6:49Speaker 2: more live aspect or feel, does it take you a
- 6:51Speaker 2: really short amount of goes to get a song to
- 6:55Speaker 2: where it feels right.
- 6:59Speaker 1: It's across the board. Some of them are just like
- 7:02Speaker 1: come very quickly and naturally. I'm just like, I guess
- 7:04Speaker 1: that's it. I guess we're done, you know. And the
- 7:07Speaker 1: other ones, it's like, man, something just doesn't feel right.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Let's try a different bridge, Let's try and change this up.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Maybe it's the speed, maybe it's the effects we're using, whatever,
- 7:15Speaker 1: And sometimes it really takes a lot of extra changing
- 7:18Speaker 1: and draft work, but it's across the board.
- 7:22Speaker 2: Yeah, Yeah, And we're bands like Mogway and Cigar Ross
- 7:26Speaker 2: direct influences for you guys.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Especially early on. Yeah, I wanted to do this band
- 7:35Speaker 1: when I had just been kind of spending a lot
- 7:38Speaker 1: of time in the hardcore scene and playing hardware music
- 7:41Speaker 1: and stuff, and I've always loved post rock, and I
- 7:43Speaker 1: was just like, man, I just really want to like
- 7:45Speaker 1: get on the lighter side and be playing some atmospheric
- 7:48Speaker 1: stuff with a ton of delay and stuff. And at
- 7:51Speaker 1: that time I was listening to a lot of like Explosions, Sky, Cigaroes, Maguay,
- 7:58Speaker 1: Cassie and like all kinds of stuff like at and
- 8:01Speaker 1: I just, like, you know, asked a few friends, Hey,
- 8:03Speaker 1: anybody want to play stuff like this, and like a
- 8:05Speaker 1: few few of my friends the guys in in the
- 8:07Speaker 1: band are like, oh yeah, I would love to do that,
- 8:08Speaker 1: and so we just got together and started playing.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Yeah, that's awesome. And is there any bands at the
- 8:14Speaker 2: moment that you're really impressed by? They don't have to
- 8:16Speaker 2: be within the same genre as you, guys, but yeah,
- 8:19Speaker 2: what bands are you liking at the moment?
- 8:24Speaker 1: Wow? Across the board, I think all the last few
- 8:27Speaker 1: records that Touche Moria has put out, I've just been phenomenal.
- 8:32Speaker 1: I've been listening to a lot of like singer songwriters
- 8:35Speaker 1: and stuff. There's this guy Darryl Ron. There's this kind
- 8:38Speaker 1: of like alt country, like the alternative if you will.
- 8:44Speaker 1: It's weird. It's like kind of like alternative folk. But
- 8:46Speaker 1: then there's like some slad guitar and banjo and stuff,
- 8:49Speaker 1: but it's not country, it's like adjacent and it's just yeah,
- 8:52Speaker 1: a great songwriter. I actually got turned onto an Australian
- 8:58Speaker 1: band recently, Press Club Yea is awesome and I really
- 9:05Speaker 1: love I've been listening to a lot of different stuff
- 9:12Speaker 1: as far as like influential bands that have like kind
- 9:17Speaker 1: of influenced our sound. I think that Thrice would be
- 9:21Speaker 1: a big influence on kind of our more modern sound
- 9:25Speaker 1: and just any sort of like post hardcore, citizen basement
- 9:32Speaker 1: things like that.
- 9:33Speaker 2: Yeah, awesome. And what was the concept behind the video
- 9:37Speaker 2: of Catching Up?
- 9:41Speaker 1: Well, I've I've had this kind of strong feeling that
- 9:44Speaker 1: it's really hard to do sort of a like a
- 9:48Speaker 1: video treatment of like a storyline unless you have a
- 9:51Speaker 1: full production and really good you know, like writing for
- 9:57Speaker 1: that portion and acting and all of these things. You're
- 10:00Speaker 1: basically making a small movie. And I feel like, as
- 10:02Speaker 1: far as a DIY video goes, it's really hard to
- 10:04Speaker 1: pull that off. So we kind of knew early on
- 10:07Speaker 1: we just wanted to do like a very simple performance video,
- 10:11Speaker 1: but we wanted it to be shot in kind of
- 10:13Speaker 1: a clean space, and so we found this photo studio
- 10:15Speaker 1: in La Our friend She and Smith came down. We
- 10:18Speaker 1: said like, hey man, we just want to get some
- 10:20Speaker 1: shots and do your thing, like whatever you think will
- 10:22Speaker 1: look cool. And so we just set up and played
- 10:25Speaker 1: through the song a bunch of times. And it's funny.
- 10:27Speaker 1: There's a there was like a moving roundabout on the floor,
- 10:31Speaker 1: and we were like, oh, that's kind of funny. It
- 10:33Speaker 1: would be funny if we like got some shots of
- 10:35Speaker 1: us spinning around on the spinning floor. Yeah, and so
- 10:38Speaker 1: we did and ended up kind of being the shots
- 10:40Speaker 1: that we like the most. And you know those are
- 10:43Speaker 1: in the video quite a little.
- 10:44Speaker 2: So that's how you did it. It was like a
- 10:46Speaker 2: spinning plight on the floor.
- 10:48Speaker 1: The whole entire floors was on a motor and it
- 10:50Speaker 1: would spin and everything. And I mean it makes sense
- 10:56Speaker 1: for like video or photo shoots and stuff like that.
- 10:58Speaker 1: We can actually pull ours on it the car and
- 11:01Speaker 1: then spin the car around. Yeah, and we're like, well,
- 11:05Speaker 1: let's go for it, let's get a shot. This was
- 11:07Speaker 1: so funny that the part that we thought was going
- 11:09Speaker 1: to be cheeky or funny as like a joke ended
- 11:13Speaker 1: up being kind of the coolest shots. Sing.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Yeah, that's it. And how do you know when a
- 11:19Speaker 2: song is finished? We've kind of talked about this already,
- 11:21Speaker 2: but how do you know when a song is finished?
- 11:23Speaker 2: Especially in the genre built on layering and dynamics.
- 11:27Speaker 1: It's a great question. It's it's just the feel, you know.
- 11:32Speaker 1: It's like, obviously when you're in a band with a
- 11:34Speaker 1: bunch of people, there's compromise, you know, and finding the
- 11:38Speaker 1: point where everyone is happy enough. We always talk about
- 11:42Speaker 1: it as a band and saying like, hey, don't just
- 11:44Speaker 1: give in, don't just say like, yeah, it's fine, I'll
- 11:47Speaker 1: play that whatever if you don't like it, you know, like,
- 11:49Speaker 1: let's just keep working until everybody's happy. Yeah. So once
- 11:53Speaker 1: we get to that point and one goes, yeah, like
- 11:55Speaker 1: that feels good, let's let's roll with that, that's when
- 11:57Speaker 1: we call it, you know. And so it's just kind
- 11:59Speaker 1: of iterations and people and a lot of times it
- 12:02Speaker 1: really has to do with that individual's part. You know,
- 12:05Speaker 1: they might not be happy with just what they're playing,
- 12:07Speaker 1: so we just keep playing it until they make a
- 12:09Speaker 1: new part at a new lay or whatever it is,
- 12:11Speaker 1: until everybody feels like, ye, that's it. Yeah.
- 12:15Speaker 2: And with the writing especially, is that something that is
- 12:19Speaker 2: really just personal to you or does everyone else also
- 12:22Speaker 2: have a saying that.
- 12:25Speaker 1: As far as the lyrics, yeah, yeah, I think the
- 12:29Speaker 1: majority is coming from me, but I definitely share it
- 12:32Speaker 1: with the group and make sure that there's nothing in
- 12:34Speaker 1: there that anybody is not agreeing with, you know, or
- 12:39Speaker 1: they can't stand behind. You know. It's like, you know,
- 12:42Speaker 1: putting it out there into the world. It's like everyone's
- 12:45Speaker 1: being represented, so trying to make sure that I'm not
- 12:49Speaker 1: misrepresenting anyone else's views or feelings, you know, and I
- 12:53Speaker 1: think generally we're aligned on that.
- 12:56Speaker 2: Yeah, And what's been the biggest challenge you face so
- 13:00Speaker 2: far as a group?
- 13:04Speaker 1: I would say consistency. We're just you know, people are
- 13:08Speaker 1: we're getting older, some guys have kids, some of our
- 13:11Speaker 1: business owners. Everyone's really busy. So it's just hard to
- 13:15Speaker 1: like have the consistency of playing a lot and like, so,
- 13:18Speaker 1: you know, it just everything takes longer. You know, when
- 13:21Speaker 1: we're writing, it takes longer because we're not getting together
- 13:24Speaker 1: as often and so we're you know, sometimes it feels
- 13:27Speaker 1: like two steps forward, one step back. It's like, wait,
- 13:30Speaker 1: what did we do last time? I remember somebody had
- 13:32Speaker 1: this part that we really liked. What was it? You know,
- 13:35Speaker 1: like remember, so I'd say that's it. But you know,
- 13:39Speaker 1: we've been playing a long time and it's kind of
- 13:40Speaker 1: like when we get together, it feels like it just
- 13:43Speaker 1: gels and ye were.
- 13:46Speaker 2: And how did you all meet? Because I know it
- 13:48Speaker 2: was way back in the earlier two thousands. That's crazy
- 13:52Speaker 2: that you guys have been going for so long.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Yeah, So Darryl and I the bass player, and in transmission,
- 14:00Speaker 1: him and I were in a hardcore band in like
- 14:02Speaker 1: the late nineties early two thousands together, and then Daniel
- 14:07Speaker 1: Cardoz of the other guitar player my old band, played
- 14:10Speaker 1: with his old hardcore band, and so we're friends do that.
- 14:13Speaker 1: We worked together, and then the drummer we just knew
- 14:18Speaker 1: through mutual people. And then the only person that I
- 14:20Speaker 1: had not known for a long time was Jerome the
- 14:22Speaker 1: other guitar player, but he's been friends with Garrett the
- 14:25Speaker 1: drummer for a long time. So when we were getting together,
- 14:28Speaker 1: we were playing and Garrett just suggested Jerome could be
- 14:31Speaker 1: a good fit. He came on and he was just
- 14:33Speaker 1: an awesome dude and great guitar player, and so we're like, yeah,
- 14:36Speaker 1: this is perfect.
- 14:38Speaker 2: That's so cool. So it seems like the community was
- 14:40Speaker 2: kind of tight knit, and you all sort of knew
- 14:42Speaker 2: someone that knew someone.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Yeah. I think that's generally the case in music. Most
- 14:47Speaker 1: music scenes, it's like those people from other bands and yeah,
- 14:52Speaker 1: oh that's wicked.
- 14:52Speaker 2: And do you see yourself sticking with post rock or
- 14:56Speaker 2: evolving into other sounds over time.
- 15:02Speaker 1: I can see us continuing on with the sound that
- 15:05Speaker 1: we're kind of going with on betterment. It just feels
- 15:08Speaker 1: like kind of in our wheelhouse and a culmination of
- 15:13Speaker 1: like everything we've done in the past kind of got
- 15:15Speaker 1: us to this point and it just kind of feels natural.
- 15:18Speaker 1: And I don't know, we'll see what happens, but yeah,
- 15:20Speaker 1: I couldn't imagine us veering too far off from that
- 15:24Speaker 1: or going in too much of a different path. And
- 15:27Speaker 1: it's like this just kind of feels right, it makes sense.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Yeah, And I feel like you guys have already as
- 15:33Speaker 2: well experimented away from your earliest sound, but while as
- 15:37Speaker 2: you said, you also still incorporate that earliest sound, but
- 15:40Speaker 2: you have you know, explored other areas. Yeah.
- 15:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think we would go much heavier than this.
- 15:47Speaker 1: You know, it's like we're all playing hardcore bands still
- 15:50Speaker 1: and so we kind of scratch that itch over there,
- 15:53Speaker 1: and I don't think we would go much lighter because
- 15:55Speaker 1: we kind of already did that and felt like, you know,
- 15:58Speaker 1: we always wanted to go a little heavier. So it
- 15:59Speaker 1: just feels like right in the middle, sweet spot.
- 16:03Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I agree, And who takes the long list
- 16:06Speaker 2: to get ready before a show and what exactly are
- 16:08Speaker 2: they doing that entire hour?
- 16:13Speaker 1: It's probably me because it's not you know, the vocals
- 16:19Speaker 1: are like scene is so hard. It's not. It doesn't
- 16:23Speaker 1: come naturally for me. It's like it takes a lot
- 16:25Speaker 1: of effort and a lot of work. I'm not just
- 16:27Speaker 1: like a natural singer. So it's something I've been learning
- 16:30Speaker 1: over the years and and it just takes so much
- 16:33Speaker 1: like warming up and practice and all this stuff to
- 16:36Speaker 1: like do that. I've had it. I've had a lot
- 16:38Speaker 1: of fun learning and like getting to where I am
- 16:40Speaker 1: right now. But it's definitely a lot of work, and
- 16:43Speaker 1: it's uh, you know, I'm very jealous of those people
- 16:46Speaker 1: that I can just naturally sing so easily, and it's
- 16:50Speaker 1: I wish I had that. I don't. Also, I have
- 16:52Speaker 1: to i and put a lot of work into it.
- 16:55Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, And so obviously you there's a lot
- 16:59Speaker 2: of preser before and after a show. Do you like
- 17:02Speaker 2: to do you have to recover and really take care
- 17:04Speaker 2: of your voice as well after a show?
- 17:08Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it depends too on like all of this,
- 17:12Speaker 1: all of the contributors, like can I hear myself? You know?
- 17:15Speaker 1: Like when you can hear yourself really well, Like in
- 17:18Speaker 1: a studio setting, it's much easier. It's like you can
- 17:22Speaker 1: just hear all the notes you want to do. It's
- 17:24Speaker 1: like way easier. But in a life setting sometimes you
- 17:26Speaker 1: can't hear things like years are bed or the monitors
- 17:29Speaker 1: are not working on whatever it may be, and it
- 17:31Speaker 1: just kind of like changes the whole dynamic, and you're
- 17:33Speaker 1: trying to push harder, to be louder, to like hear
- 17:36Speaker 1: yourself better, and so it really just depends on all that. Yeah. Yeah,
- 17:41Speaker 1: if it's a situation where I can hear everything and
- 17:43Speaker 1: it's good, then it's no problem. But sometimes that's not
- 17:47Speaker 1: the case, and it's it's more strenuous.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, I never thought about that. And have there
- 17:54Speaker 2: been any fan reactions online or at shows that really
- 17:57Speaker 2: stick with you or have made you reflect on the
- 17:59Speaker 2: impact of your music.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Us to play one of our songs or a piece
- 18:09Speaker 1: of our song in their wedding as they walk down
- 18:12Speaker 1: the aisle, And that was to me, that was like
- 18:15Speaker 1: super touching. I was just like, wow, you you like
- 18:17Speaker 1: this melody that we made so much that you want
- 18:19Speaker 1: to walk down the aisle to it, Like that's crazy,
- 18:22Speaker 1: like a really stripped down version of equipment, small equipment,
- 18:25Speaker 1: but had like a full live band, and we played
- 18:28Speaker 1: the song like while they walked down the aisle, and
- 18:30Speaker 1: I was like, I'll never forget that.
- 18:31Speaker 2: That's beautiful. Do you know which song it was?
- 18:36Speaker 1: I can't remember the name. It was off of our
- 18:38Speaker 1: Second Pig. Yeah, but it was just like this one
- 18:41Speaker 1: bridge and it's like a really pretty guitar part and
- 18:44Speaker 1: like really kind of like atmospheric and pretty, and it
- 18:47Speaker 1: made sense for the setting, you know, and I just
- 18:49Speaker 1: never really thought about that, but it was it was
- 18:51Speaker 1: really cool to like get that request, you know, like
- 18:54Speaker 1: all the songs you can pick for your wedding. Yeah,
- 18:56Speaker 1: they want you to come play live as I walked
- 18:59Speaker 1: down the Okay, possible.
- 19:02Speaker 2: That's beautiful. Well that's so I wish I had that idea.
- 19:08Speaker 2: And do you have any tour plans after the EPA drops?
- 19:11Speaker 2: Can we hope to see you in Australia?
- 19:14Speaker 1: Oh man, that would be great. No big plans right now.
- 19:17Speaker 1: It's just kind of one of our members just had
- 19:21Speaker 1: a baby and then another member is having a baby
- 19:26Speaker 1: at the beginning of the year. So as far as
- 19:28Speaker 1: playing live, it's kind of things are on hold for me. Yeah, yeah,
- 19:32Speaker 1: I mean I would love to come to Australia.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Oh beautiful. Have any of you guys ever been here before?
- 19:41Speaker 1: I have not. I believe a couple of the members have. Yeah,
- 19:46Speaker 1: I have not been there. It's high on my list.
- 19:49Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, beautiful. And do you know what you'd like
- 19:54Speaker 2: to experience once you do, hopefully finally get over here.
- 20:01Speaker 1: I surfing is a big part of my life.
- 20:04Speaker 2: Oh wow. Yeah.
- 20:06Speaker 1: We love to spend a bunch of time like cruising
- 20:08Speaker 1: up and down the coast and like a camper dam
- 20:10Speaker 1: with a bunch of surfboards and just like experience all
- 20:13Speaker 1: the nature and all the awesome surf spots and stuff.
- 20:17Speaker 1: It's yeah, that's definitely, Andrew. That's why I think that's
- 20:20Speaker 1: why I haven't gone yet, because I'm like I need
- 20:22Speaker 1: to go and I can like have a month there
- 20:26Speaker 1: and just spend some time, not like one week.
- 20:28Speaker 2: And yes, yeah, exactly, no, exactly. That's awesome Martin. Congratulations
- 20:34Speaker 2: on catching up. We're loving it. We hope to see
- 20:37Speaker 2: you guys Obiki soon. Thank you so much for your time.
- 20:40Speaker 1: Thank you. How do you go on
