Transcript
- 0:01Hey, good morning, everybody. Welcome to the Sean Green show.
- 0:03My name is Sean Green Hope everybody's having a good
- 0:05morning man through. And also be very, very careful.
- 0:08Those who live basically try to care a lot like I am with the
- 0:12air quality. Be careful.
- 0:13But hey, as you all know, make League Baseball release their
- 0:18schedule went out for the 2027 season.
- 0:21My thing is this right here's my thing is something they disagree
- 0:24with some people, they they agree with me.
- 0:27Why release the schedule for 2027?
- 0:31See which next year is not guaranteed.
- 0:33We're going to have the season. It's not really guaranteed.
- 0:37I'll be honest with you. It's not because the collective
- 0:41bargain agreement between between the owner and the
- 0:45players ends December 1st at 11:59 PM.
- 0:49It ends. It ends and the owners, owners
- 0:54won. I always want a salary cap and
- 0:58the players don't for real. In my personal opinion, I
- 1:02believe that the that the Major League Baseball, Major League
- 1:06Baseball front office release released his schedule basically,
- 1:11basically to put pressure on the players.
- 1:13We put you on the players because I'll be honest with you,
- 1:16the season start because with the with the new schedule next
- 1:20year, the season starts for baseball a whole lot earlier.
- 1:24The All Star game is in Chicago. I really feel which I got to be
- 1:28honest, which is really which is perfect, which is honestly
- 1:32perfect and good, perfect and good, perfectly good.
- 1:34Hey, those, those guys might have All Star game in Chicago.
- 1:38Honestly, for real. They did it to put pressure on
- 1:41the players. There's a case if there is a
- 1:44strike, there's a strike or a lockout.
- 1:46That's probably that's probably what they did in my personal
- 1:50opinion. For real, honestly, man, because
- 1:53honestly man, for real, because the players don't want salary
- 1:56cap. In a way I don't blame that.
- 1:58Like I say over and over, in a way, I don't blame the players
- 2:01for not wanting a salary cap, especially after seeing what
- 2:05other what other league, what the players other leagues have
- 2:08gone through, especially the NBA and the NBA base and NBA lot of
- 2:13NBA players our our our first grade with the second apron with
- 2:17second apron. And basically basically baseball
- 2:21does not play, does not want to go through that.
- 2:23They really don't. Honestly, honestly, for real.
- 2:28It's it's a good, I mean, I ask you, it's a pressure move by
- 2:33pressure move by the commissioner of baseball in the
- 2:34front office, front office basically to push them to come
- 2:38up with it, to come up with a deal.
- 2:40Because right now talk installed, talk installed.
- 2:43And and basically our way for that was which one's going to
- 2:47blink? I mean, which one's going to
- 2:49blink for real? That's basically what it is.
- 2:52Because way, the way things is looking, I'm going to be dead
- 2:55honest. We could get, we could get
- 2:59either a lockout or or a strike. Either way, it's going to be bad
- 3:03for baseball because the players don't want salary gap and also
- 3:06the players do not like how Major League Baseball maybe
- 3:10commissioner is basically wants to force it Major League
- 3:13Baseball players to play in the Olympics.
- 3:15Literally force them. And they say if you don't
- 3:18participate in the Olympics, Olympics, you'll be suspended
- 3:21for a month without pay. The players are also against
- 3:24that. They really are.
- 3:27They really are. I mean, damn.
- 3:29I mean, hey, hey, I don't know all those this man.
- 3:34Hey, like I keep telling everybody, be prepared for
- 3:40seriously, for basically either a locker or strike next year.
- 3:45I'm, I'm, I'm confident right now that that we're not going to
- 3:48get to baseball, baseball next year that we're not, we're going
- 3:52to have baseball next year. Even though I'll be honest with
- 3:55you, I like the schedule. I like baseball start early.
- 3:59I like the fact that All Star games could be in Chicago.
- 4:02That's base year at Ribby Field. I think that's perfect for real
- 4:06and I and so far a way way of looking the best everything.
- 4:09I hey, I like it, but but I'm that damn sure that we're not
- 4:14going to have a baseball next year.
- 4:16I really am honestly, I am that confident 100% man, for real,
- 4:23because because the players are adamant that they don't want a
- 4:28salary cap. They're very adamant and well,
- 4:31and which and what people, black people don't know is baseball is
- 4:34the only sport on the planet that does not have a salary cap.
- 4:40The only sport that does not have a salary cap, the only
- 4:45sport and our players want to keep it that way.
- 4:49We keep it that way for real. But the way things is going
- 4:52baseball, eventually we have a salary cap and this and the
- 4:56character, trust me, the owners are not blinking and the players
- 5:00are not blinking. They are not a A.
- 5:03I can tell everybody I tell my Co works everybody.
- 5:06You better enjoy this season because we probably won't.
- 5:09We won't get another one next year.
- 5:12Only way you're gonna watch baseball next year is you play
- 5:14some video game. I'm going to be dead honest, but
- 5:17whenever you see baseball next year, you play some damn video
- 5:19game because baseball next year? Hell no, hell no, because the
- 5:24players are adamant about that for real.
- 5:27For also other baseball news, I mean, I'm a Mets fan.
- 5:32I'm like what the hell? I'm like, what the hell.
- 5:35And I'm I'll blame them, but I'm not What the hell?
- 5:37The New York Mets yesterday, those of you who watched the
- 5:40Mets Phillies game, you heard during the Mets and Phillies
- 5:43game, right? Mets announced that all their
- 5:48players, all their, all their players, basically, right?
- 5:51All their players. The day I said all their players
- 5:54except for Juan Soto, Norman McLean, Carson binge, AJAJ
- 6:02Ewing, Christian Scott, Risk, all the players but them are
- 6:06available, are available basically, meaning you're
- 6:10basically available to trade. Here's my guess who's not on
- 6:13that list. Francisco Lindor is not on that
- 6:18list. But here's my thing here, which
- 6:21kind of scratches my head, which I'm kind of perturbed by this
- 6:24damn issue. Does the Francisco Lindor, does
- 6:27the Francisco Lindor have a no trade clause if you're not
- 6:30mistaken? And does that cover basically
- 6:33his, his, his whole entire contract if I'm not mistaken?
- 6:37If I'm not mistaken, I know I'm not the smartest person in the
- 6:40world. I know I'm not, but come on.
- 6:41Damn, for real. Damn it.
- 6:44Come on now for and plus, I'm going to say this, They trade,
- 6:48they their PE lines will go. People got mad.
- 6:53The Mets let a lot of people go that were fan favorites and fan
- 6:58favorites and fans are pissed off.
- 7:02The fans are pissed off now, friend, We come on now for real.
- 7:07They better not trade Francisco Lindor.
- 7:08And I don't think they can make sure what not because there's no
- 7:11trade clause. And plus also some of the teams,
- 7:14according to reports, don't see him as a trade option, mainly
- 7:18because one again, the no trade clause and also to the length of
- 7:24his contract, how much money he's being paid because so far
- 7:27it's really rude you he's underperforming this year.
- 7:30Francisco Lindor is underperforming this year for
- 7:33the New York bench. He really is.
- 7:35He really is. He's been making some space, but
- 7:37make some mistakes, especially defensive mistakes.
- 7:40He really has who he has and the way the men perform the big
- 7:44benefit before the beginning of the first half of this season.
- 7:48Right now, right now, hey, the owner basically winner is is
- 7:53trying to clean out is trying to clean out.
- 7:55That's basically trying to clean out Francisco Alvarez.
- 7:59I don't I don't want to see him go, but I don't blame you for
- 8:02trading him. You make it some the four, you
- 8:05make it to the four, but especially the way he performed
- 8:06last night. He had two home runs last night.
- 8:09Did did did a good job. But he's a good catcher, but his
- 8:13bat is not consistent. That's not consistent.
- 8:16But I do may see some teas, maybe want to trade for them.
- 8:19I really do. Honestly, man, I say I really
- 8:22do. But man, but they the season is
- 8:26done for the New York Mets, barring some strange miracle,
- 8:29the season is done for the Mets. The season is done.
- 8:31You see, the season is done. Even though they got the second
- 8:34highest payroll on baseball, they got one of the worst
- 8:37records in baseball. They really do.
- 8:39Honestly, I don't see the Mets making, I don't see the Mets
- 8:42making the playoffs this year. I really don't.
- 8:44It's another failure for the New York Mets.
- 8:47It really has. And my personal opinion, my
- 8:50person's opinion, basically, you need to get rid of the get rid
- 8:53of general manager and get you right in the front office.
- 8:55Who knows what the hell they're doing.
- 8:57And hopefully next year, if there is baseball next year, we
- 9:01get a New York Mets get a damn good manager, hopefully get a
- 9:05damn good manager, even though it'll cause Beltran before now
- 9:09put out there as Coral the floating out there, even though
- 9:14even though I will pull been saying how he wants to manage
- 9:16the Mets or he's right with the Mets because he Mets got one
- 9:20Soto. That's why we made the match
- 9:22even yeah, I'm gonna say it's either one of those.
- 9:25Are you with those? I don't think any I don't think
- 9:26any met fan will not mind honestly would not mind that one
- 9:29single solitary bit without one mind for real.
- 9:33But this has been a horrible season for the Mets.
- 9:35I mean, damn, you had teams that start bad beginning the season,
- 9:39like Philadelphia Phillies. They started bad, got rid of the
- 9:43manager promoted of Don Matley and and and look up Philly right
- 9:47now. I mean, damn, Philly is on the
- 9:50heels one of the of the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Braves and the
- 9:53Braves won the top teams won that International League.
- 9:57Hey, hey, I can't believe I'm saying this.
- 9:59I can't believe I'm saying this. Even the crappy Boston Red Sox
- 10:03started bad and towards the end of first half Boston was hot.
- 10:08Boston's hot came out hot for real came out really hot.
- 10:12Case your point, Tampa Bay Rays got one of the got one of the
- 10:16best records in baseball, for instance.
- 10:19I'm a rundown basically where you basically where you won the
- 10:23biggest decline, big improvement.
- 10:24These improvements at this time last year, the New York Mets
- 10:28have 55 wins this year, Excuse me, this year they got 40.
- 10:34This year got 40. The Detroit targets run this
- 10:36time have 59 wins. This time they got 44.
- 10:40They got 44. I mean, the biggest improvements
- 10:42for real, for big improvements, the Chicago White Sox.
- 10:46This time last year the Chicago White Sox had 32 wins would win
- 10:50the worst record in the baseball.
- 10:52But this year, I mean, Jesus Christ, they got fifty wins, a
- 10:55dramatic improvement, a dramatic improvement.
- 10:58Basically a lot of people, other people think of what not the
- 11:02owner could sell this team. But hey, hey, overnight, man,
- 11:05for real. The Rockies do a little bit
- 11:08better. The Braves, the Braves, the
- 11:09Braves, the Braves is raises A raises A raises a real, but
- 11:15damn, I mean, it's sad. One thing I've always said this,
- 11:18I've always going to say this for real, honestly is my
- 11:21personal opinion. You could have, you could have
- 11:24them. You can have the most money in
- 11:26baseball, but it's how you spend the money.
- 11:30Look at the Mets and look at the Mets.
- 11:32Look at the Dodgers, two of the highest payrolls in baseball.
- 11:36But look at the Tampa Bay Rays. I'll use it.
- 11:38I'll use it for example. I'll use it, for example, did,
- 11:42did, did at the bottom. What comes the payroll, But I
- 11:45would say that I say it over and over again, go over again.
- 11:49They got one of the best scouted systems period, and always see
- 11:53it once in a while they'll find damn good players.
- 11:57And then doing it again. The only thing I'm pissed off
- 12:01about about about the Tampa Bay Rays they're in when they're in
- 12:05the city where nobody supports them.
- 12:09That's the only problem, I got to say with Tibber Bay, Ray,
- 12:12because let's be real here if I'm wrong.
- 12:14But somebody tell me, Sean, shut the hell up.
- 12:16You're wrong. But somebody tell me that
- 12:18please, Yeah, please. Almost everybody in there in
- 12:23Florida, let's be real, here are Yankee fans.
- 12:26Why? Where do Yankees go for this
- 12:29spring? Go spring training.
- 12:31Florida, Florida. Everybody down here are Yankee
- 12:35fans. Honestly, for real, how many
- 12:38times, how many times have the Timber be raised gone up?
- 12:42They got back down and got up and got back down.
- 12:45They got back down. Why?
- 12:46Because he can't afford to pay their players.
- 12:48They got players who come up there and say that the owner
- 12:51come up and tell us, I'm sorry, but I can't afford to.
- 12:53I want to keep you here, but I can't afford to keep you.
- 12:55I've already keep you here, but I can't afford to keep you
- 12:57saying it over and over and over again for all the reason why
- 13:02Timber Bay, I've been saying for years, everybody's been saying
- 13:05this, it's still in Florida. It's because the governor of
- 13:07Florida, Ron DeSantis, period. Only reason why basically they
- 13:12did. Other than that, let's be real
- 13:14here. They deserve to be somewhere
- 13:16else. I say, I say, I say Frisal, this
- 13:20is me here. I say North Carolina or
- 13:22Tennessee, reason why I say North Carolina.
- 13:25I say that because I used to live in North Carolina, new
- 13:29North Carolina and you and I'll be honest with you, I mean every
- 13:33and there's hardly anything to freaking do in North Carolina
- 13:35but go but go to either Hornets games, Panther games and I'm
- 13:42shocked hockey's doing down there.
- 13:43I want the many people that think hockey was going to do
- 13:46good in North Carolina, but look at me.
- 13:48I was wrong. I was wrong.
- 13:50I was wrong this day. I was this day.
- 13:51I apologize on that wrong, but also hey, but also what not
- 13:57everybody go to their minor League Baseball game.
- 13:59Trust me, I know. I used to live down there, live
- 14:02down there. I got family that they go there
- 14:03all that and all the time they will go to they go to they will
- 14:07go to a minor League Baseball game and get rowdy.
- 14:12Just imagine if you was to actually put a Major League
- 14:15Baseball team in in North Carolina.
- 14:18I mean, damn, hey, I'll be here. I'll be here in Nashville, TN
- 14:24floating around and by the and by the baseball team.
- 14:27I don't think nobody will mind if Nashville gets one for real,
- 14:31for real. But hey.
- 14:32But hey, I would love to see Tampa Bay somewhere else as I
- 14:35think this. I think Tampa Bay only year to
- 14:38win one. If if if they can get past them
- 14:41is is is if if they can get past get past the Yankees.
- 14:47Yankees. I think they can.
- 14:48Or or the White Sox or Cleveland.
- 14:51OK, OK for real. OK, for real.
- 14:54The Yankees. I must say this.
- 14:56The Yankees season depends upon the health of Aaron Judge.
- 15:02Let's be real here. There's still no timetable for
- 15:05his return. According to reports, he was
- 15:07supposed to have got an MRI basically during the Austin
- 15:10during the All Star break. And to see how his ribs are.
- 15:13I'll be honest with you, if he's not available to me, did they
- 15:18need him? They need, they really do.
- 15:20For real. They need Aaron Judge back.
- 15:22They've been up and down. They've been up and down, up and
- 15:26down. Since he's been gone.
- 15:28We've gone when he was there, they did have division lead
- 15:30down. They lost it to the Rays.
- 15:33Basically, the Yankees need Aaron Judge.
- 15:35They didn't really do It's hopefully what if everything's
- 15:39right, they can get him back whenever that playoff push.
- 15:42Keyword hopefully. But I'm going to say this.
- 15:45If the Yankees don't got Aaron Judge man, and he could be he is
- 15:49to say Prince is gone for rest of the season.
- 15:52I don't know. I really don't know about the
- 15:55Yankees. I don't know and I'll be honest
- 15:57with you, I really don't know. I really don't for real, and
- 16:04that will suck for that will suck right here for baseball.
- 16:06Honestly, for real, the Mets ain't doing shit.
- 16:09That's B scheme afraid that they doing shit and then and then the
- 16:12Yankees Yankees, Yankees make the playoffs, yes, but if
- 16:16they'll get error, they'll get error judge basically what not
- 16:18they won't go far. Obviously Yankees will make the
- 16:21playoffs. I'm confident in that.
- 16:23Know what I'm sorry, I can't be confident in that.
- 16:27I can't really be confident because again, rest depends upon
- 16:32how good the Red Sox do do sick out of the season and Red Sox
- 16:35and Red Sox and playing good. That's been good and you got
- 16:39Cleveland and Cleveland, the White Sox bad and whatnot in
- 16:42that AO central. The tigers are starting to play
- 16:46a little a little anymore better and and then that ALS is still
- 16:51somewhat battling. I see for real.
- 16:54So it's not all guaranteed Yankee get Yankee have a damn
- 16:56good record. Here's what's like by the
- 16:58American League. Yankees can have a damn good
- 17:00record and not make the playoffs.
- 17:03I believe that's how it's going to be, which is like damn, but
- 17:07it's like damn, man, for real, honestly, which is like damn,
- 17:11but hey, but hey, hey, I guess a guess we'll find out.
- 17:15We'll find out the all sick out season just started Mets one,
- 17:18the Mets one yesterday, which is a good sign.
- 17:21Good sign. It was a good sign.
- 17:22And I'm like, yes, Mets one, yes or yes, but it's a good sign.
- 17:25But I will say this about yesterday's game.
- 17:29I will say this. I don't met physically man who
- 17:31say this, but God be honest with you.
- 17:33Philly would cheat out that home run.
- 17:35I've got to be honest with you, Philly was cheated out that home
- 17:38run. I disagreed on parts call call
- 17:43when a ball was hit and it hit the top of top of the railing.
- 17:49I mean, I just top of the railing, top of the railing and
- 17:52it bounced and it and it bounced back into play.
- 17:55That's there's no way to there's no way off the way off to catch
- 17:58that ball. That should have been a damn
- 18:00home run. I my personal opinion, I agree
- 18:03with the fan. It should have been a home run.
- 18:04It really should have, which it really should have for real,
- 18:09honestly, it should have been a home run because the New York
- 18:14Mets player, the very next inning hit it in his same exact
- 18:19spot and just barely cleared and just barely cleared that pole.
- 18:23And you said it was a home run. That should, that should have
- 18:26been a home run. That should have been a home
- 18:28run. It bounced.
- 18:29It bounced up. It should have been a home run
- 18:31in my personal opinion. But hey, who am I?
- 18:34Who am I for? I'm just a simple baseball fans,
- 18:37no baseball fan. Baseball fan for real, the
- 18:39simple baseball fan for real. Also, I know some people are
- 18:44going went out to the fanatic fest, which is a good event.
- 18:47Me, I usually skip it. The reason why I skip it people
- 18:50say oh I'm going there. I'll meet my favorite NBA star.
- 18:54This person star this person. Get a photo op.
- 18:57You better come with money. It costs money to meet some of
- 19:01these players and take pictures. Now here are some of the price
- 19:04case. You want to take pictures which
- 19:06is your favorite star as could be a fanatic fest?
- 19:08What's going on right now in New York?
- 19:10Jenny Brunson, everyone take, take, take a photo.
- 19:14Jenny Brunson, right? It's going to cost you $937.
- 19:19Take a picture of Scottie Pippen, $665.
- 19:22Take a picture of Brett Farr, 474 dollars.
- 19:26Oh, we want to take a picture of Randy Moore.
- 19:28Oh, I'll take Randy Moore, $354. I mean, damn, it cost money to
- 19:35basically take picture with some of these stars, with some of
- 19:38these, some of these players and also wrestlers.
- 19:41It's going to be going to cost you money so you better make
- 19:43them dollar. I know everybody's saying this
- 19:45shouldn't be like that and should be like this or the money
- 19:47you pay for tickets, which I agree.
- 19:49This is why the players does this.
- 19:52You take that picture, right? You take that picture, then you
- 19:55see some people. That's why slightly, slightly
- 19:57stars, a lot of these star movie stars actually ever do.
- 20:01I do autographs no more because you take that picture, whatever.
- 20:05They actually know what they've seen it on sale on.
- 20:07See somebody sell on eBay, whatnot for millions.
- 20:09That's one of the reasons why they don't want to do it.
- 20:13This is why I don't want to do it.
- 20:15So am I making money off of her and say they say, wait a minute,
- 20:17that's not fair. That's not right.
- 20:19Same players are mad, especially if there's a mad one, not
- 20:21because you go to eat whatever you're sick of betting them and
- 20:24that and then get a piece of that money.
- 20:27I wait and put the players. I understand I really do you
- 20:31know understand the fans position on the on the situation
- 20:35based. They say, hey, we pay all this
- 20:37money you bought this money for to watch it on TV.
- 20:40All this money when they go to the game, this and this, we
- 20:42should go take your picture with you for free, which I do agree,
- 20:45but also give the players on the players side.
