- 1:15Speaker 4: the fingers and toe. We are twenty nine No.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Twenty eight, now twenty eight hours away from college football
- 1:23Speaker 2: starting in Dublin, Ireland.
- 1:25Speaker 4: In Dublin Farmageddon, Farmageddon. I'm excited. So what do we decide?
- 1:30Speaker 4: It's at eleven tomorrow right neon Eastern Yep.
- 1:33Speaker 2: I keep I have to think in Eastern time, and
- 1:35Speaker 2: I have to remind myself that no wrong, God's time
- 1:40Speaker 2: or Elvis time.
- 1:40Speaker 4: I believe that would be.
- 1:42Speaker 5: I think I'm not mistaken. I think there's a six
- 1:46Speaker 5: hour time difference from here and there, so it would
- 1:48Speaker 5: be five pm Ireland time.
- 1:51Speaker 6: Yes, let's get sat on the internet yesterday.
- 1:54Speaker 4: I don't even care what time the game is. I'm there.
- 1:57Speaker 2: It's football, it's real, it counts. It's between two good teams.
- 2:04Speaker 4: Yep.
- 2:04Speaker 5: They tell me no real plans for the weekend, which
- 2:07Speaker 5: is incredible. So good to get a chance for just
- 2:12Speaker 5: concentrating on the TV standing up thirteen inches fourteen to
- 2:17Speaker 5: twenty five inches away.
- 2:18Speaker 2: If it's not an LSU, you can stand back and yeah,
- 2:21Speaker 2: I don't have to move back quite as much, but yeah,
- 2:24Speaker 2: I do.
- 2:24Speaker 4: You know, you get it.
- 2:25Speaker 5: I like to stand right next to it. So I
- 2:27Speaker 5: moved my head around like back and forth, like it's tennis.
- 2:29Speaker 4: Yep. How are we doing everything? Good? Everybody good?
- 2:34Speaker 3: Good night?
- 2:35Speaker 4: Is laundro overachieving? Running in the rain miserable? Why did
- 2:40Speaker 4: you do it?
- 2:41Speaker 6: Because I was already.
- 2:44Speaker 4: No, I was grip the rain doesn't wash away, grip.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Bro.
- 2:50Speaker 6: It was a mile and a half away from my house.
- 2:52Speaker 7: I had to Okay, So that was that was in
- 2:54Speaker 7: your neighborhood.
- 2:55Speaker 4: Yeah, that's the best.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Like my dad, like when we used to run sometimes,
- 2:59Speaker 2: like he drops off away from the house and drive off.
- 3:01Speaker 4: You got one way to get home. Both working out
- 3:06Speaker 4: that picture.
- 3:11Speaker 7: It's raining. I'm here, I'm looking out the window. I'm like,
- 3:16Speaker 7: where is she? It was it wasn't raining, neighbor, Yeah,
- 3:20Speaker 7: right in here?
- 3:21Speaker 4: I had nothing, no rain really, Yeah, well that's what
- 3:23Speaker 4: I was.
- 3:24Speaker 7: I was looking. I was like, where is she? I
- 3:25Speaker 7: was like, drops avoid that area.
- 3:29Speaker 4: I did see some.
- 3:30Speaker 5: I mean, it's it's that time of year where there's
- 3:32Speaker 5: gonna be some dark clouds rolling in every single as
- 3:35Speaker 5: it was.
- 3:35Speaker 4: It was thundering here, but there was I saw some
- 3:38Speaker 4: in the distance, but we didn't catch any. This little sunshiny,
- 3:41Speaker 4: I mean.
- 3:41Speaker 6: It was very hot and sunny whenever I left for
- 3:44Speaker 6: the run.
- 3:45Speaker 4: So run faster, yeah, I do. We missed it. How
- 3:49Speaker 4: far did you run?
- 3:50Speaker 6: I was, so's three point four something miles because I
- 3:54Speaker 6: was already a mile and a half out five Yeah.
- 3:58Speaker 4: So you're getting ready for one, right, half marathon?
- 4:01Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 4:05Speaker 4: Thirteen thirteen points something?
- 4:07Speaker 6: Thirteen point something.
- 4:08Speaker 4: Yeah. The bumper stickers you see them all around town?
- 4:10Speaker 4: Thirteen point something. I can't remember. That sounds like a
- 4:13Speaker 4: super fun, voluntary thing to do to yourself.
- 4:15Speaker 6: It's not, but that's the point, completely voluntary.
- 4:20Speaker 4: What's it?
- 4:20Speaker 8: Uh?
- 4:21Speaker 4: What's it for? Which one is it.
- 4:22Speaker 6: It's the Louisiana Marathon in January.
- 4:25Speaker 4: Oh yeah, we got some time.
- 4:26Speaker 6: Yeah yeah, I gave myself time. I cannot just get
- 4:29Speaker 6: up and go do a half.
- 4:31Speaker 2: If we're already hitting like a good pace a little
- 4:34Speaker 2: bit over three miles and we're in August, you're you're good?
- 4:36Speaker 4: Yeah? What do you think? Can we get a get
- 4:38Speaker 4: you like my high sponsored shirt to do this running?
- 4:41Speaker 4: How we feeling?
- 4:42Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 4:42Speaker 4: Doing sponsorship?
- 4:43Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 4:45Speaker 4: Can we get our girl a hat? She wants one.
- 4:48Speaker 4: I mean she's at your baseball hat, your baseball I
- 4:50Speaker 4: love a baseball. She sent the pictures running in a
- 4:53Speaker 4: hat yesterday.
- 4:54Speaker 5: But this isn't a running hair like runners like to have,
- 4:57Speaker 5: like those little short ones. I don't care what like
- 4:59Speaker 5: the volleyball.
- 5:00Speaker 6: Oh, I actually don't like.
- 5:01Speaker 2: That, like uh Wesley Snipes and white Man King John. Yes,
- 5:06Speaker 2: exactly that kind of that's kind of exactly you get it.
- 5:09Speaker 4: No, I'm where one. I wear this hat to run in.
- 5:12Speaker 2: You're supposed to be able to wear melons and they're
- 5:14Speaker 2: you know, you're supposed to be able to sweat in them,
- 5:16Speaker 2: wash them, clean them.
- 5:18Speaker 4: The best way to wash your hat throat in the dishwasher.
- 5:20Speaker 4: Really absolutely, no idea. It'll sparkle kind of hat you wearing,
- 5:28Speaker 4: sparkly ones, sounds like it. That really works. The dishwasher, Yeah,
- 5:34Speaker 4: it does what I do with mine. I actually have
- 5:37Speaker 4: like these things.
- 5:38Speaker 5: You don't have to buy these, and I've never had one,
- 5:40Speaker 5: but I seen like the infomercials, the former, Yeah, the former, like.
- 5:43Speaker 4: The shade it. Yeah, and that's why you just buy
- 5:47Speaker 4: a melon hat. You can, they say you can just
- 5:49Speaker 4: clean it. You're good.
- 5:49Speaker 7: Dallas cowboys had got some dirt spots on. I've been
- 5:52Speaker 7: trying to get out, so I'm gonna have to dishwashers.
- 5:55Speaker 4: That's do doo.
- 5:55Speaker 5: Yeah, you got some spots on the organization right now too.
- 6:00Speaker 5: And ain't pret your guy, man, he just keeps digging
- 6:02Speaker 5: himself a hole.
- 6:04Speaker 6: Does something else happened?
- 6:05Speaker 7: I gotta tell you, Matt little offended that you said,
- 6:08Speaker 7: my guy.
- 6:09Speaker 4: Yeah, you guy.
- 6:10Speaker 5: It is your guy, the guy I'm stuck with. No, no, no, no,
- 6:13Speaker 5: You've been stuck with him for your whole life.
- 6:15Speaker 4: So and you chose this.
- 6:16Speaker 7: Pass to your choice about decisions. To your point though
- 6:19Speaker 7: about like him digging a deeper hole. He said, well, guys,
- 6:23Speaker 7: this is the exact same as the Dak Prescott situation, Like,
- 6:26Speaker 7: what's the problem by freaking out? I'm like, Yeah, you
- 6:29Speaker 7: paid Dak the highest paid player in the league, which
- 6:32Speaker 7: he didn't deserve. Like, you're costing yourself more money in
- 6:35Speaker 7: the long run, contracts ain't going down.
- 6:38Speaker 5: And this feels a little bit different, doesn't it. Like
- 6:41Speaker 5: I kind of feel like Michael Parsons might just say,
- 6:44Speaker 5: you know what, Bud, you can hold my shoulder pads
- 6:47Speaker 5: during the first game because I'm not wearing them.
- 6:49Speaker 4: Yeah, that's kind of how it feels. Like it's what's
- 6:52Speaker 4: gonna happen.
- 6:52Speaker 7: And like you're gonna get the deal done with your
- 6:54Speaker 7: quarterback always. The quarterback's always going to get the deal done.
- 6:58Speaker 4: This is different.
- 6:59Speaker 7: Plus, I mean, Michah deserves it more than Dak. The
- 7:02Speaker 7: team in the NFL Michael Persons wouldn't start for.
- 7:04Speaker 5: And then I guess, I guess Jerry's trying to sell
- 7:06Speaker 5: his documentary right now because he like who asked him
- 7:10Speaker 5: to say these things? He just came out and said,
- 7:12Speaker 5: like the agent said some very disrespectful things to him
- 7:16Speaker 5: about this contract negotiation. All right, why would you put
- 7:20Speaker 5: that out there? And then he keeps saying you guys
- 7:24Speaker 5: get it.
- 7:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:25Speaker 7: He keeps saying, if y'all saw what I offered Michael Parsons,
- 7:27Speaker 7: all right, show us would you give him? Keep saying that,
- 7:32Speaker 7: and he's like, this is going to work out in
- 7:33Speaker 7: the long run. I'm like, it's good for the Dallas
- 7:36Speaker 7: Cowboys because you run it like it's a soap opera.
- 7:39Speaker 7: It's not good for them from a football standpoint, but
- 7:42Speaker 7: he doesn't care about that.
- 7:43Speaker 5: I was reading recently that Michael Parsons has the same
- 7:46Speaker 5: agent as I believe Jalen Ramsey, and a couple of
- 7:50Speaker 5: years ago, he was in a similar situation and he
- 7:52Speaker 5: set out games to Stronghold and he got a deal done.
- 7:57Speaker 4: I can't remember.
- 7:58Speaker 5: I don't remember what team it was, but he set
- 7:59Speaker 5: out games, games, and so same agent, so I might
- 8:03Speaker 5: have a similar playbook.
- 8:06Speaker 4: It's gonna be fun to watch. It's gonna be fun
- 8:09Speaker 4: to watch just.
- 8:10Speaker 7: The super Bowl hopes for this season.
- 8:13Speaker 4: There it is. They're all down the drain. I love so.
- 8:16Speaker 5: One of my favorite parts about the beginning a football
- 8:18Speaker 5: season is after the first game to see all the
- 8:23Speaker 5: eliminated posts. Yeah, team eliminated from playoffs.
- 8:26Speaker 6: I love the ones that are like ass.
- 8:29Speaker 4: Especially when they got like a tear system.
- 8:32Speaker 8: Yeah, oh my gosh, he has The tier list that
- 8:34Speaker 8: they did last season was so funny. I remember we
- 8:36Speaker 8: were like regularly sending it to each other.
- 8:40Speaker 6: Was so funny.
- 8:41Speaker 4: Quarterback tier lists like that are fantastic.
- 8:43Speaker 6: Yeah, and the Saints were always like super mega ass Yes,
- 8:49Speaker 6: oh we.
- 8:50Speaker 4: Laugh because that's how we don't cry. We'll get to
- 8:54Speaker 4: the pain.
- 8:54Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll get to some Saints quarterback news. Who they're
- 8:57Speaker 2: going to start in their final preseason game. We certainly
- 9:01Speaker 2: got to get to some SEC scheduling news. Herb Vincent
- 9:05Speaker 2: out of the SEC office is going to join us
- 9:08Speaker 2: at nine to forty am to kind of go over it.
- 9:10Speaker 2: How it all kind of came together certainly was a
- 9:13Speaker 2: talking point at spring meetings in Destin this year. You
- 9:17Speaker 2: had a lot of people that wanted you had a
- 9:18Speaker 2: lot of people that did not want it. There was
- 9:20Speaker 2: not an agreement there by any means, So how did
- 9:24Speaker 2: that agreement happen? So looking forward to catching up with
- 9:26Speaker 2: Herb at nine forty We'll go ahead, listen, We're gonna
- 9:30Speaker 2: take a break on time.
- 9:31Speaker 4: What this isn't even on top this is early.
- 9:33Speaker 2: It's actually like a minute and a half early because
- 9:36Speaker 2: I do want to get into the scheduling model.
- 9:38Speaker 4: Also, I put it out there to the people who
- 9:40Speaker 4: did they.
- 9:41Speaker 2: Want to see LSU's three permanent opponents, be like if
- 9:44Speaker 2: you could pick one, like who would that be? And
- 9:46Speaker 2: I put the four teams that I think would be
- 9:49Speaker 2: most people's choice for LSU. You probably know that we're
- 9:53Speaker 2: gonna have a little bit different opinion here on this
- 9:55Speaker 2: show than you've probably heard on other shows, and so
- 9:58Speaker 2: we'll give.
- 9:58Speaker 4: You that opinion, wouldn't we come back here.
- 10:02Speaker 3: Off the bench.
- 10:05Speaker 2: Go to Russellpools dot com. That is a website for
- 10:07Speaker 2: Russell pool Company. And you go to that website, You're
- 10:11Speaker 2: going to see a lot of different pools. You're not
- 10:13Speaker 2: going to see the same pool twice because they are
- 10:16Speaker 2: going to customize your pool.
- 10:18Speaker 4: I mean, these pools look completely different.
- 10:22Speaker 2: And you'll see like they can really do whatever that
- 10:25Speaker 2: you're kind of dreaming up in your head, Like incredible
- 10:29Speaker 2: work they do over there at Russell Pools. And really
- 10:31Speaker 2: it's some start to finish and then afterwards as well,
- 10:34Speaker 2: right because they can maintain your pools. So they are
- 10:36Speaker 2: truly that one stop shop that we always talk about.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Have them come out, look at your space, tell you
- 10:42Speaker 2: exactly what they can do for you. Russellpools dot Com.
- 10:45Speaker 5: Yeah, I think we're about a little over a week
- 10:47Speaker 5: away from Labor Day, and I think that traditionally that
- 10:51Speaker 5: is when public pools, your private community pools, whatever it is,
- 10:54Speaker 5: they start closing down. Well, if you get your own
- 10:56Speaker 5: custom pool from Russell, you can get a how about
- 10:58Speaker 5: a pool heater, never close that pulled down swim year round,
- 11:01Speaker 5: whatever it is. They think turn key your job, Russell
- 11:04Speaker 5: Pools dot Com.
- 11:10Speaker 3: Wouldn't be good. I'm losing, wouldn't.
- 11:20Speaker 7: So good?
- 11:22Speaker 3: So good.
- 11:22Speaker 1: From Flares to Legends, Hester and Flynn breakdown l s
- 11:25Speaker 1: U Football like only champions can.
- 11:29Speaker 3: Sugar Sue.
- 11:39Speaker 4: Monky Friday, Fun Friday. I can't wait to slam dunket
- 11:48Speaker 4: later in the show. That's called Lady. That's gonna be
- 11:52Speaker 4: maybe even at the very end.
- 11:56Speaker 5: So listen to find out three hours all three hours,
- 12:01Speaker 5: when are we going to play slam Dunk the funk.
- 12:06Speaker 4: They're giving more and more way about your teas. He's
- 12:10Speaker 4: just supposed to be a teaser. R. Maybe we just
- 12:13Speaker 4: throwed in there randomly throughout the show.
- 12:20Speaker 2: All Right, we got news out of the SEC, and
- 12:23Speaker 2: it broke yesterday around I'm excited about this.
- 12:27Speaker 4: I don't know four thirty or so. I know I
- 12:29Speaker 4: was still on air whenever it broke.
- 12:31Speaker 2: But the SEC something we've long talked about, talked about
- 12:36Speaker 2: it for a lot of years.
- 12:37Speaker 4: It was the main.
- 12:39Speaker 2: I would say, the main conversation it was there was
- 12:41Speaker 2: like three or four because college football is college football now,
- 12:44Speaker 2: but probably the main conversation down in Destin for spring meetings.
- 12:48Speaker 2: And they are now going to implement a nine game
- 12:51Speaker 2: conference schedule in twenty twenty six. So this will continue
- 12:57Speaker 2: with a single standings, non divisional structure. Each school will
- 13:01Speaker 2: play three annual opponents, focused on maintaining many traditional rivalry games.
- 13:08Speaker 2: Each team's remaining six games will rotate among the remaining
- 13:11Speaker 2: conference schools. Each team will face every other SEC program
- 13:16Speaker 2: at least once every two years in every opponent home
- 13:21Speaker 2: and away in four years. So you won't have the
- 13:24Speaker 2: situation where we played at Kentucky in two thousand and
- 13:27Speaker 2: seven and you didn't play at Kentucky again until twenty
- 13:30Speaker 2: twenty one.
- 13:31Speaker 4: Like, you won't have those situations anymore. This is a
- 13:35Speaker 4: big deal.
- 13:36Speaker 2: This is something that you know people outside of the
- 13:39Speaker 2: SEC wanted the SEC to you know, to take part
- 13:43Speaker 2: him because the Big Ten, Big twelve, that's what they had.
- 13:45Speaker 2: So now the ACC is the only one that still
- 13:47Speaker 2: has eight games. The Big Ten remember, like the last
- 13:51Speaker 2: two national champions they didn't play another power for opponent
- 13:57Speaker 2: in non conference and their argument well as they had
- 14:00Speaker 2: nine conference games. And so now i SEC also has
- 14:03Speaker 2: the nine conference games that the Big Ten and the
- 14:06Speaker 2: Big twelve have always talked about.
- 14:09Speaker 5: So look here here's I got a question just before
- 14:12Speaker 5: we kind of get into who at the three yearly
- 14:16Speaker 5: opponents should be is what what game is going to
- 14:19Speaker 5: be excluded going forward? Like when when people start getting
- 14:23Speaker 5: used to this and start planning their non conference schedules.
- 14:26Speaker 4: Is it the big.
- 14:29Speaker 5: Is it the bigger games out of conference games or
- 14:31Speaker 5: is it gonna be the rental win games? Which game
- 14:33Speaker 5: are people going to drop?
- 14:34Speaker 4: Do you think?
- 14:37Speaker 2: So when you got these contracts like these, you know,
- 14:41Speaker 2: these primetime opponents, they usually are the ones that get
- 14:46Speaker 2: picked up by TV partners and they get put in
- 14:49Speaker 2: you know, sometimes in a neutral site location and they'll
- 14:52Speaker 2: be in Mercedes Benz in Atlanta.
- 14:54Speaker 5: So I would just like, like from an LSU standpoint,
- 14:57Speaker 5: like if you know you're playing one extra SEC game
- 15:00Speaker 5: the year, are you scheduling Clemson anymore? Or are you
- 15:03Speaker 5: still going to schedule Clemson and not schedule Lois in attack?
- 15:07Speaker 2: Well, the SEC still have the rule in fact, where
- 15:10Speaker 2: you have to play a power for non conference opponent.
- 15:13Speaker 2: That's gonna be the question too, I hope.
- 15:16Speaker 4: So I like to see it. I want a game
- 15:21Speaker 4: that matters every single week, and that's that's like it.
- 15:26Speaker 2: That's where we're gonna start our conversation. I put it
- 15:29Speaker 2: out there last night to a vote. Pull out these
- 15:32Speaker 2: numbers here, three hundred votes, so appreciate the interaction there
- 15:36Speaker 2: as always. And I asked, I asked the people, like,
- 15:39Speaker 2: who do you most want to see as a permanent
- 15:43Speaker 2: opponent for LSU? Because you're gonna play three, You're gonna
- 15:46Speaker 2: have three every year. Those three stay on your schedule.
- 15:49Speaker 2: The other six just rotate around it, okay. And I
- 15:52Speaker 2: put the four teams that I believe the most that
- 15:54Speaker 2: LSU fans would want to see at least one of those.
- 15:57Speaker 2: I put Alabama, I put Auburn, I put miss and
- 16:00Speaker 2: I put Florida three times.
- 16:03Speaker 4: Times. Three times would probably be my answer.
- 16:07Speaker 2: So with thirty five point four percent of the vote,
- 16:09Speaker 2: Alabama with twelve point nine percent of the vote, Auburn
- 16:14Speaker 2: with thirty three percent of the vote, Old miss in
- 16:17Speaker 2: Florida three times eighteen point seven percent of the vote.
- 16:21Speaker 2: So so we're joking with the Florida part. But I'm
- 16:23Speaker 2: not joking when I put those four teams. If you
- 16:28Speaker 2: want to play in your three permanent opponents Mississippi State, Kentucky,
- 16:35Speaker 2: and Vanderbilt and be serious about it, that is your opinion.
- 16:40Speaker 2: You're entitled to that opinion. We are just wired differently.
- 16:45Speaker 2: We think about things in a different way. Because when
- 16:49Speaker 2: I think of Mississippi State, when I think of Kentucky,
- 16:52Speaker 2: and when I think of Vanderbilt, nothing jumps into my brain.
- 16:58Speaker 2: You could go a bluegrass miracle, cool moment on Jefferson Pilot.
- 17:02Speaker 2: Sports was the breakfast game. Those teams don't create any
- 17:08Speaker 2: emotion for me. Zero I played against those teams. I
- 17:11Speaker 2: played against Mississippi State every year. Hell, we had a
- 17:14Speaker 2: great game with Kentucky where we lost in triple overtime.
- 17:18Speaker 4: Good game. What's the end of that game? Like when
- 17:19Speaker 4: people were finishing up their lunch.
- 17:22Speaker 2: But Vanderbilt, like we played against Vanderbilt when Vanderbilt was
- 17:26Speaker 2: one of their better teams.
- 17:27Speaker 4: With bad body language Jay at quarterback does nothing for me.
- 17:34Speaker 2: College football is about looking forward to every single Saturday
- 17:39Speaker 2: and looking forward to tailgating all day with your people
- 17:44Speaker 2: and having this anticipation in this.
- 17:47Speaker 4: Build up that you can't even turn it off.
- 17:50Speaker 2: You just you're giddy all day long because you're like,
- 17:53Speaker 2: it's LSU Alabama, it's LSU Ole Miss, It's LSU Florida.
- 17:58Speaker 4: I love the Auburn series. I wish that came back,
- 18:01Speaker 4: like those are the memories.
- 18:03Speaker 2: Immediately Auburn, Blenda Bird, Alabama, Jayden Hitt and Mason for
- 18:08Speaker 2: a two point conversion Florida. I can give you ninety
- 18:10Speaker 2: seven of them. I can give you nineteen ninety seven.
- 18:13Speaker 2: I can give you oh seven. I can give you
- 18:15Speaker 2: fake field goals that bounced up and a kicker caught it.
- 18:19Speaker 4: I can give you.
- 18:19Speaker 2: I can give you a guy that throws a cleat
- 18:21Speaker 2: that gets a fifteen yarder and LSU hits a fifty
- 18:24Speaker 2: plus yard field goal in the fog you can't even
- 18:26Speaker 2: see it go through in a night where LSU was
- 18:29Speaker 2: a twenty one point underdog.
- 18:32Speaker 4: Ole Miss last year.
- 18:34Speaker 2: I can give you moments immediately, and every single Tiger
- 18:36Speaker 2: fan is going to know exactly where they were when
- 18:38Speaker 2: those moments happened. And you want to take that away
- 18:41Speaker 2: because it's easy. Life ain't easy. Easy, ain't fun, you say, ah,
- 18:49Speaker 2: But winning is. Yeah, winning those games is real fun.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Winning those games that are memories forever. That's what's fun.
- 18:55Speaker 2: Beating the teams that you hate, that's what's fun. Beating
- 18:58Speaker 2: the teams that when you see your their colors, it
- 19:00Speaker 2: makes you want to punch them right in the chest.
- 19:02Speaker 4: That's what's fun. I getting three teams that create no emotion.
- 19:09Speaker 4: What does that do for fans that spend their hard
- 19:12Speaker 4: earned money to go into Tiger Stadium to see the
- 19:15Speaker 4: team that they just very much dislike and for LSU
- 19:19Speaker 4: to go out there and beat that team. Mississippi State,
- 19:23Speaker 4: Kentucky and Bandy. If that happens to be on the rotation,
- 19:27Speaker 4: we'll play them. But every year.
- 19:31Speaker 2: That that that doesn't create the emotions that I'm looking for.
- 19:34Speaker 2: In college football, the people that.
- 19:36Speaker 5: Get assigned to your three yearly opponents by default become
- 19:41Speaker 5: your three rivals. And I don't want a rival to
- 19:44Speaker 5: be either one of those schools. But I guess the
- 19:49Speaker 5: counter argument would be, yeah, win of those games is fun.
- 19:51Speaker 5: To win in championships is more fun, well unless just
- 19:54Speaker 5: won three and not too long of a time frame here,
- 19:58Speaker 5: playing those playing that schedule, playing those teams, playing those big,
- 20:02Speaker 5: big games, And it's more meaningful that way when it
- 20:05Speaker 5: happens that way, when you have to go through the
- 20:07Speaker 5: hearts of light.
- 20:08Speaker 4: But that's why people go to the SEC.
- 20:10Speaker 5: That's why players choose to put on an LSU hat
- 20:15Speaker 5: when they're sitting in front of their family and their
- 20:17Speaker 5: friends and they're making a decision for the next four
- 20:19Speaker 5: or five.
- 20:19Speaker 4: It is those big games.
- 20:20Speaker 5: So when we look back, when I look back at
- 20:24Speaker 5: the time playing like I, you know, I think about
- 20:27Speaker 5: the Ohio State National Championship game, sure, but I probably
- 20:31Speaker 5: think about playing Florida more. I probably think about playing
- 20:34Speaker 5: aub Or more just because of the games and what
- 20:37Speaker 5: it means, like playing in Tiger Stadium, playing in front
- 20:39Speaker 5: of your home fans, and like, you know, that was
- 20:42Speaker 5: how electric the atmosphere is, and you're going to take
- 20:44Speaker 5: that electric electricity way down, like if you if you
- 20:47Speaker 5: get that and that's not what you know, SEC Foo,
- 20:49Speaker 5: if you want to kind of do that and choose
- 20:51Speaker 5: your own schedule, like an easy schedule. Just drop out
- 20:53Speaker 5: of the SEC, become independent. How about that Notre Dame.
- 20:57Speaker 5: Make your own schedule.
- 20:58Speaker 4: I think they won one back in the set. Yeah. Probably. Hey,
- 21:03Speaker 4: yeah you can schedule.
- 21:03Speaker 2: You can go play Stanford, you can play cal Yeah,
- 21:07Speaker 2: you can play maybe Pitt one year, so Michigan State
- 21:10Speaker 2: on the rotation.
- 21:11Speaker 4: Then when you finally play a real team, you're not
- 21:12Speaker 4: ready for it.
- 21:13Speaker 2: No, because you're not callous. You got punch right in
- 21:15Speaker 2: the mouth and you're like, oh, wait a minute, this
- 21:17Speaker 2: is different. This punch is a little bit harder than
- 21:19Speaker 2: I'm used to.
- 21:22Speaker 4: At.
- 21:23Speaker 2: Like the emotions that those teams create in players and
- 21:29Speaker 2: coaches during that week, you can't explain it. Like when
- 21:36Speaker 2: you're playing against Mississippi State, you think I'm doing everything
- 21:40Speaker 2: I possibly can to get ready for this game. You
- 21:42Speaker 2: truly do, and you're like, I'm gonna go about my business.
- 21:44Speaker 2: I'm gonna do my work. I'm gonna make sure that
- 21:46Speaker 2: I watched that tape and you maybe you get your
- 21:49Speaker 2: work done, You're ready for the game. When you play Florida, Hey, Matt,
- 21:54Speaker 2: let's stay, like, let's stay like seven minutes after real
- 21:56Speaker 2: quick like, let's, uh, let's work on this one, will route. Hey,
- 21:59Speaker 2: let's work on this option that we put in this week.
- 22:01Speaker 2: I don't I don't feel one hundred percent about it
- 22:03Speaker 2: right now. Hey, let's go Hey, real quick, real quick,
- 22:05Speaker 2: let's go watch some of that extra protection tape that
- 22:07Speaker 2: we had there. Because the last thing that you want
- 22:09Speaker 2: to do is lose to the jort wearing Florida Gators.
- 22:14Speaker 2: You want every like, with all of your being, you
- 22:17Speaker 2: want to go out there and you want to be
- 22:19Speaker 2: victorious against that team.
- 22:20Speaker 4: Help.
- 22:21Speaker 2: We came back from the NFL one year, me and
- 22:24Speaker 2: Flynn had the same bye week, okay, and so we
- 22:27Speaker 2: come back to y I had been in the NFL
- 22:30Speaker 2: for two years, both of us.
- 22:31Speaker 4: We're supposed to be like professionals. All right.
- 22:34Speaker 2: We're playing against the Florida Gators and those front running
- 22:37Speaker 2: sobs are jumping on the eye of the tiger. I'm
- 22:40Speaker 2: on the sideline. I feel somebody tugging at my belt.
- 22:43Speaker 2: I look back and it's Flynn because my ass is
- 22:46Speaker 2: at the hash Mark trying to fight college kids. Okay,
- 22:50Speaker 2: because that's what kind of emotion Florida brings out in me.
- 22:53Speaker 4: And it's not just them.
- 22:54Speaker 2: It could be the Auburn Tigers, it can be Alabama,
- 22:58Speaker 2: Ole Miss not as much, but I know there's a
- 22:59Speaker 2: lot there because those are the teams that create those emotions,
- 23:05Speaker 2: not Mississippi State. Like Kentucky and Vanderbilt. It's nothing against
- 23:09Speaker 2: those programs. Nothing against this again, Kentucky beat us Vanderbilt.
- 23:16Speaker 2: It has nothing to do with them, but it's like, no, no, no, no, no.
- 23:19Speaker 2: These are the opponents that create what we love about
- 23:23Speaker 2: college football.
- 23:24Speaker 5: Hey, can you imagine hosting the top recruits, the top
- 23:29Speaker 5: recruits in the country, and bring them to a game
- 23:32Speaker 5: and it's a home game versus Vanderbilt or Mississippi State,
- 23:35Speaker 5: and that's like the big one.
- 23:36Speaker 4: You bring him to you and you think the crowd
- 23:37Speaker 4: would be.
- 23:38Speaker 2: Doing like they did the gator chomp in twenty nineteen,
- 23:41Speaker 2: and the whole crowd, you think they'd be doing that.
- 23:42Speaker 5: When you're when you're hosting these genuinely wholeheartedly ultra competitive people,
- 23:51Speaker 5: ultra athletic people. You bring them to the games and
- 23:54Speaker 5: you want them to be in a crowd that you're
- 23:56Speaker 5: seeing people gator chomping. I don't care if it's left over, right,
- 24:01Speaker 5: right over, left, whatever it is you want to see
- 24:03Speaker 5: him against Alabama at night because they want to see
- 24:06Speaker 5: the best on the best, and that is what college
- 24:08Speaker 5: football they got. College fans want to see. And like
- 24:12Speaker 5: in this like day and age where you know you're
- 24:14Speaker 5: kind of starting to stray away from a lot of tradition,
- 24:17Speaker 5: at least the least you can hope for is good
- 24:20Speaker 5: competitive games every single week. That's why I want the
- 24:22Speaker 5: I want the rent and win out of the schedule completely. Yeah,
- 24:25Speaker 5: I wish every single game was competitive.
- 24:27Speaker 3: Ye.
- 24:27Speaker 4: Hey, hey, FCS schools, I love you. I got to
- 24:30Speaker 4: place in my heart right.
- 24:32Speaker 2: Uh, there's there's hall of famers that were much better
- 24:34Speaker 2: football players and both of us sitting up here right
- 24:37Speaker 2: now that played at FCS schools, a lot of them.
- 24:40Speaker 2: All right, this isn't a slide at you. So there's
- 24:42Speaker 2: different there, there's levels to this thing, okay. And in
- 24:48Speaker 2: the springtime, I would love to set up something where
- 24:50Speaker 2: FCS schools had a chance to come over to FBS
- 24:52Speaker 2: schools and you had fans in the stadium and it
- 24:55Speaker 2: was a spring scrimmage and hey, you get paid money
- 24:58Speaker 2: to come over here, you will give you the entire game.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Twenty thousand people might show up and you get all
- 25:02Speaker 2: of it all right, But I don't need to ever
- 25:06Speaker 2: see that again in Tiger Stadium.
- 25:09Speaker 4: I just don't need to see it.
- 25:12Speaker 2: I want the games that create the emotions that we're
- 25:16Speaker 2: talking about here on the sideline, in the stands, in
- 25:20Speaker 2: the booth, all over the stadium. And so there's maybe
- 25:25Speaker 2: there's a place for those games. Maybe it's a springtime.
- 25:27Speaker 4: I don't know. But it's not our job to care.
- 25:30Speaker 4: It's just not.
- 25:30Speaker 2: That's harsh, but it's not. It's not the fbs's job,
- 25:34Speaker 2: it's not LSU's job to take care of the now
- 25:38Speaker 2: called group of six are the FCS level.
- 25:41Speaker 4: It's just not.
- 25:42Speaker 5: And again, like if you get those teams on a rotation, great,
- 25:45Speaker 5: like your strength to schedule it worked out in your
- 25:47Speaker 5: favor whatever for that season, but like to say year
- 25:51Speaker 5: and year out that you're like, you'd rather position yourself
- 25:55Speaker 5: to like get in or have a chance to get
- 25:58Speaker 5: in by default because the schedules easy, Like that is
- 26:02Speaker 5: the most that's that's Notre Dame energy right there. In
- 26:05Speaker 5: my opinion, I keep coming back to that because Notre
- 26:08Speaker 5: Dame pisses me off all the time, like getting the schedule,
- 26:11Speaker 5: getting the conference and I'll respect you, but I don't
- 26:14Speaker 5: respect you until you do that. I don't care who
- 26:18Speaker 5: you schedule because I know what your schedule is gonna
- 26:20Speaker 5: be every year. I know you're gonna schedule with the
- 26:26Speaker 5: best possibility to get yourself in a game that you're
- 26:28Speaker 5: gonna lose.
- 26:30Speaker 2: Yeah, and when they play that game every single time,
- 26:33Speaker 2: and you and I have been a part of one
- 26:34Speaker 2: of those games when they play somebody that you know
- 26:39Speaker 2: has gone through the fire, somebody that is calloused and
- 26:42Speaker 2: came out on the other side.
- 26:43Speaker 5: Now, our stats look great at the end of the year,
- 26:45Speaker 5: and they just don't have like what memories of their
- 26:48Speaker 5: fan base have.
- 26:50Speaker 4: Nothing.
- 26:52Speaker 2: I mean two thousand and six Notre Dame Sugar Bowls
- 26:53Speaker 2: probably like one of the easiest games.
- 26:55Speaker 4: Yeah, they got Rudy. We don't want to only have
- 26:59Speaker 4: Rudy in forty years.
- 27:01Speaker 2: No, h Inside the Balue four chat, people talking about
- 27:04Speaker 2: the you know, the stands in some of these games
- 27:05Speaker 2: being completely empty by halftime, and hey, that was a
- 27:08Speaker 2: point of conversation again. Down spring meetings, that's where everything
- 27:11Speaker 2: kind of gets handled. That's why they have those meetings,
- 27:13Speaker 2: and they're there and they're in those boardrooms for you know,
- 27:16Speaker 2: twelve hours a day.
- 27:18Speaker 4: And the athletic directors that I talked with.
- 27:20Speaker 2: And we talked to thirteen of the sixteen on air,
- 27:25Speaker 2: they said, we don't want our stadiums looking half empty
- 27:31Speaker 2: on TV ever again. And they point that's why they
- 27:36Speaker 2: wanted to add this ninth game. Like it's going to
- 27:37Speaker 2: bring in revenue. Obviously, look we're not, you know, we're
- 27:40Speaker 2: not going to pretend that it doesn't. But also you're
- 27:43Speaker 2: going to have more competitive games. You're gonna have people
- 27:46Speaker 2: actually stay for the entire game instead of when Oklahoma
- 27:50Speaker 2: plays Bethune Cookman and you got, you know, twenty thousand
- 27:55Speaker 2: people in the stands. And so like athletic directors noticed it.
- 27:59Speaker 2: They notice and they understand that it's now easy to
- 28:02Speaker 2: sit at your house and watch the game. They're trying
- 28:04Speaker 2: to create that environment that we're talking about, the environment
- 28:08Speaker 2: that I could go across every LSU fan and say, hey,
- 28:11Speaker 2: give me the moment in Tiger Stadium, and every single
- 28:14Speaker 2: one of you's gonna have one ready to go. You're
- 28:16Speaker 2: gonna have it ready. It's gonna be the first thing
- 28:17Speaker 2: that popps into your brain is gonna come out. So
- 28:19Speaker 2: as like five seconds into it. You're gonna explain why
- 28:23Speaker 2: you fell in love with LSU and why you fell
- 28:25Speaker 2: in love with Tiger Stadium, and you're gonna have that
- 28:27Speaker 2: right there ready to go. And you know who, It's
- 28:29Speaker 2: not going to be Mississippi State, Kentucky or Vanderbilt, not
- 28:33Speaker 2: one of y'all.
- 28:34Speaker 5: Nothing like mentioned like the economic benefit that we get
- 28:40Speaker 5: from the big games and the lack of like the
- 28:43Speaker 5: effect that that'll have. Like we can let the Pro League,
- 28:45Speaker 5: we can let Brian Holding talk about the economic impact,
- 28:48Speaker 5: but like those big games have a huge impact on
- 28:50Speaker 5: the state and the city and just every in small
- 28:52Speaker 5: business all around. But like as a competitor, you want
- 28:56Speaker 5: to go to a place and you want weekend. You
- 28:58Speaker 5: want to face the best. You want to play people
- 29:01Speaker 5: you hate. You want to play people that create emotion,
- 29:04Speaker 5: that stir you emotionally. And as a fan base, you
- 29:07Speaker 5: want that too. Like in the in the middle of
- 29:09Speaker 5: the season, like you're worried about the big picture. You
- 29:10Speaker 5: want to win a national championship. We're not taking that
- 29:12Speaker 5: away again. You could do that, and it means we've
- 29:16Speaker 5: won three in the last what twenty years, less than
- 29:20Speaker 5: twenty years, we've won three. No twenty five year old
- 29:23Speaker 5: whatever world. I can't I can't keep count his old brain.
- 29:27Speaker 5: But the blueprint is there. You could do it, you
- 29:32Speaker 5: just and you can't manufacture it with a schedule. You
- 29:36Speaker 5: have to play the best. You have to play those
- 29:38Speaker 5: teams at callous. You have to play those teams that
- 29:40Speaker 5: as a competitor, you want that.
- 29:41Speaker 3: Like.
- 29:41Speaker 4: I hate it. I couldn't stand it. I couldn't stand
- 29:45Speaker 4: the games we were supposed to win. Let's go out
- 29:47Speaker 4: here and play Fresno State this week.
- 29:49Speaker 5: That I didn't even I mean, I hated eleven o'clock
- 29:51Speaker 5: Mississippi State games at the time. I know Missippi State's
- 29:53Speaker 5: a lot better than they were then, but you know,
- 29:55Speaker 5: not by a ton, Yeah, not by a lot.
- 29:58Speaker 4: Yeah. I hated playing Anderbilt.
- 30:01Speaker 2: Yep, I'm right there with you. I mean I had
- 30:05Speaker 2: same It's I'll give you an example of kind of
- 30:11Speaker 2: just from our experience. When we played Miami in a
- 30:15Speaker 2: top ten matchup in the Peach Bowl, beat the hell
- 30:18Speaker 2: out of them. When we played Notre Dame in a
- 30:22Speaker 2: top I think it was top five, top five matchup
- 30:24Speaker 2: in the Sugar Bowl, beat the hell out of them.
- 30:26Speaker 2: When we played Ohio State and National championship game, even
- 30:28Speaker 2: though they got out to a ten to nothing lead,
- 30:30Speaker 2: we beat the hell out of them. We were so
- 30:34Speaker 2: callous and so ready for those games because what we
- 30:37Speaker 2: had gone through in the sec the teams that we
- 30:40Speaker 2: had played to get to that point, and once we
- 30:43Speaker 2: played somebody outside of our conference that had not done those.
- 30:46Speaker 4: Things, it was easy. Games were easy.
- 30:50Speaker 2: They quit all three of those teams, quit all three
- 30:54Speaker 2: of them, And I think that's because of what we
- 30:57Speaker 2: had gone through to get to that point.
- 31:00Speaker 4: Of those ended in a national championship. Six was very
- 31:02Speaker 4: close to ending in a national championship.
- 31:05Speaker 5: So you know what, But I get and I get
- 31:07Speaker 5: there's probably people out there like going through the seasons,
- 31:10Speaker 5: be like and creating counter arguments, Well, what about this
- 31:12Speaker 5: year you lost?
- 31:13Speaker 4: You what about this year you lost? They had a
- 31:15Speaker 4: weaker schedule, and they.
- 31:15Speaker 2: Did tell us that we need to go watch the
- 31:18Speaker 2: nineteen eighties LSU Florida series, like Florida all ten all
- 31:24Speaker 2: ten games that they played there.
- 31:26Speaker 5: Yeah, now, and I'm not even talking about that. I'm
- 31:28Speaker 5: just talking about, like, well, here's the here's the counterpoint
- 31:30Speaker 5: to the argument. This is, like, you had a strong
- 31:33Speaker 5: strength of schedule, you played a weaker strength to schedule
- 31:35Speaker 5: opponent and they beat you.
- 31:36Speaker 2: They were less count the way strength to schedule metric
- 31:38Speaker 2: is in play. Now we'll talk about that a little bit.
- 31:41Speaker 5: But like I get there, you know, I can understand
- 31:44Speaker 5: everybody's counterpoint. But at the end of the day, it's
- 31:46Speaker 5: just soft. Really like play the best. It's LSU. They'll
- 31:53Speaker 5: play the best, want to play the best, look forward
- 31:57Speaker 5: to it. They'll put somebody in the mouth.
- 32:01Speaker 2: Yeah, when you have those three letters and you're representing
- 32:05Speaker 2: those three letters, those three letters are not soft. Those
- 32:10Speaker 2: three letters want all to smoke. Those three letters should
- 32:13Speaker 2: strike fear in people. Those three letters shouldn't look for
- 32:17Speaker 2: the easy way out. Those three letters are champions. Those
- 32:21Speaker 2: three letters have some of the best to ever do it.
- 32:25Speaker 2: Those three letters don't need to be grouped with Mississippi State,
- 32:28Speaker 2: with Vanderbilt and with Kentucky.
- 32:32Speaker 4: Not every year.
- 32:34Speaker 2: We'll take a break and when we come back, we'll
- 32:37Speaker 2: tell you who we want to see. Everybody's gonna go
- 32:39Speaker 2: around the room.
- 32:40Speaker 4: Let's go.
- 32:40Speaker 2: You get to pick one team. Who do you want
- 32:42Speaker 2: LSU to play. The one that cannot go away no
- 32:46Speaker 2: matter what happens, it can't go away. And we'll tell
- 32:48Speaker 2: you why, and we'll do it when we come back
- 32:50Speaker 2: here on OTV. Off the bench, right good, All Star

- 33:45Speaker 5: car car rental places at the airport, So go check
- 33:48Speaker 5: them out, go call them or go visit them all
- 33:50Speaker 5: Star Toyota, Betrouge, dot.
- 33:52Speaker 3: Com, Tigers Turn Talkers. This is off the bench.
- 34:17Speaker 4: Last night. Yeah, the scheduling talks got me through that funk?
- 34:24Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 34:29Speaker 4: Oh, how are the cartoons last night? Wild? Wild? Unreal?
- 34:41Speaker 4: All right, I'm the top recruit.
- 34:43Speaker 5: Oh my god, just witness y'all destroy Vanderbilt fifty to
- 34:48Speaker 5: nothing at two thirty?
- 34:51Speaker 4: Where getting two thirty? Yeah? Okay, I about to say
- 34:56Speaker 4: that starting at noon? Did y'all see that? Did y'all
- 34:59Speaker 4: see that? Eight thousand people in the crowd? Wild? Why
- 35:02Speaker 4: where do I sign? Wow? Can I come? Now? M
- 35:09Speaker 4: this is purple and golds for me? Destroyed them?
- 35:17Speaker 2: You could make the argument I get it, like I
- 35:20Speaker 2: want the easiest path to the playoff. But now strength
- 35:22Speaker 2: to schedule is a metric that they're going to use
- 35:23Speaker 2: like it's going to mean something. So we'll get to
- 35:27Speaker 2: that point a little bit later on. And look, I
- 35:29Speaker 2: am a self described meathead. I know I'm a meathead.
- 35:32Speaker 2: Like I don't want things easy. Some people do, and
- 35:35Speaker 2: that's great. Life's about choices and decisions. We talked about
- 35:37Speaker 2: that often. But I can't tell you, like how how
- 35:42Speaker 2: much pride I had in NFL locker rooms. When I
- 35:46Speaker 2: could hear a Florida guy yapping and just yapping, I'm like, yeah,
- 35:49Speaker 2: we went three and one against you, Bud. When I
- 35:52Speaker 2: heard a Bama guy just yapping, yapping, Hey, we went
- 35:55Speaker 2: four to oh against you, matt went five and oh
- 35:57Speaker 2: against you just constant yap, and it's like they're like,
- 36:02Speaker 2: there's this pride and there's this yeah because we went
- 36:05Speaker 2: to LSU, all right.
- 36:07Speaker 4: I don't really care where you went. We went to LSU,
- 36:10Speaker 4: all right.
- 36:10Speaker 2: We went to the place, you know that's had some
- 36:13Speaker 2: of the best college football players of all time. We
- 36:16Speaker 2: went to the place that Right now, we're in this
- 36:19Speaker 2: NFL locker room, and y'all know, y'are all huddled around
- 36:22Speaker 2: this TV. You know who you're huddled around this TV
- 36:24Speaker 2: even though we're pros to watch the Honey Badger, every
- 36:28Speaker 2: single one of y'all.
- 36:29Speaker 4: That's what y'all. Y'all are watching Tyron Matthew right now.
- 36:32Speaker 2: Because he goes to LSU and he's special and he
- 36:36Speaker 2: strikes fear in everybody. So you can call it whatever
- 36:43Speaker 2: you want. LSU's an alpha. They're not They're not a beta.
- 36:47Speaker 2: They're just that's what it is. LSU's a big dog.
- 36:52Speaker 2: They they they want to play the best. So if
- 36:56Speaker 2: if you don't have that again, that's that's fine. I'm
- 36:59Speaker 2: not I'm we're wired differently and that's okay. But l
- 37:03Speaker 2: s U and that helmet sits in front of us.
- 37:08Speaker 2: That's an alpha. And if you don't want to play
- 37:10Speaker 2: the best of the best, I got nothing for you. So, Matt,
- 37:16Speaker 2: who do you want to play?
- 37:17Speaker 4: It's taken a lot. It's like mental fortitude for me,
- 37:22Speaker 4: say I say.
- 37:25Speaker 2: It just means it's taking me a lot not to say,
- 37:28Speaker 2: not to say bad words and that and try to maintain.
- 37:33Speaker 5: What we got journalistic integrity on this show. Buddy, I'm
- 37:38Speaker 5: just just surprised. I'll say that I was surprised with
- 37:41Speaker 5: some of the reactions. Go ahead, Oh well, the answer
- 37:46Speaker 5: is really easy for me. I will be very upset
- 37:50Speaker 5: if we do not play Florida every single year. I
- 37:53Speaker 5: hate Florida, but it's like, uh, I love to hate
- 37:57Speaker 5: him like I love it. I love that passion, I
- 37:59Speaker 5: love that rivalry.
- 38:01Speaker 4: I love that game.
- 38:02Speaker 5: I love the emotions it brings out. I love the
- 38:06Speaker 5: games being in the stadium for that one. I love feeling.
- 38:10Speaker 5: I love feeling a game like. It's just a weird
- 38:13Speaker 5: feeling that when you go into those types of games,
- 38:17Speaker 5: the air feels different, it smells different, like I don't
- 38:20Speaker 5: know if it's barometric pressure. I have no idea. We
- 38:23Speaker 5: have all been there, old fashion. You can't explain it,
- 38:26Speaker 5: but it feels different.
- 38:28Speaker 4: And I love it. And I hate them, and I
- 38:31Speaker 4: love that I hate them, and I love that they
- 38:32Speaker 4: hate us. I do too, Yes, And.
- 38:37Speaker 5: You know, for the players I played with a bunch,
- 38:40Speaker 5: loved having cold pops with them, love talking about it.
- 38:42Speaker 2: One of my best friends in this world is a Gator.
- 38:44Speaker 2: But guess what that's still telling them how much I
- 38:46Speaker 2: hate them. When we talk about the games, we both
- 38:50Speaker 2: get mad at each other. We both want to fight
- 38:53Speaker 2: each other. Yes, we both talk that ish to each other.
- 38:57Speaker 2: And it's great. And that's what college football is. Don't
- 39:00Speaker 2: take that away. Leave that in college football when a
- 39:05Speaker 2: lot of other stuff is getting taken away with transfers
- 39:10Speaker 2: and nils and paying people and like pseudo professional players.
- 39:14Speaker 4: I get it.
- 39:15Speaker 5: There's a lot of like old heads, and I'm like, oh,
- 39:17Speaker 5: that's taking the spirit away from college football with the
- 39:19Speaker 5: amateurism and all that stuff.
- 39:22Speaker 4: Don't take the rivalries away.
- 39:23Speaker 2: They've played every year since nineteen seventy one as well.
- 39:26Speaker 2: I don't know if people realize that. And I mean
- 39:29Speaker 2: there was only a gap because they played, you know
- 39:33Speaker 2: before that. I mean they played every year. There's like
- 39:35Speaker 2: a five or six year gap. But I mean this
- 39:38Speaker 2: is a true rival. This is somebody that you played
- 39:41Speaker 2: every single year. And by the way, what is our
- 39:43Speaker 2: guy Handy talking about? Nineteen eighties and we got to
- 39:45Speaker 2: sit down and watch it LSU one, one, two, three four.
- 39:49Speaker 2: They won four times against Florida in the eighties and
- 39:52Speaker 2: tied one or four to four and one.
- 39:54Speaker 4: There we go. I think, let me see eighty nine,
- 39:57Speaker 4: oh eighty nine went their way. Sorry, so five four
- 39:59Speaker 4: or four, five and one? That bad Handy terrible, too bad?
- 40:04Speaker 5: Right?
- 40:05Speaker 4: So yeah, Florida. No surprise at your answer, Alandra.
- 40:10Speaker 8: So I have two that I feel very adamant about.
- 40:13Speaker 8: But I'll go to the obvious answer here and say
- 40:17Speaker 8: Texas A and M. Because of how competitive that's that
- 40:23Speaker 8: always is, like it we go back and forth with
- 40:25Speaker 8: them pretty much every year, like the home team usually wins,
- 40:29Speaker 8: and I feel like there's juice to that game and
- 40:33Speaker 8: it's usually I feel like.
- 40:34Speaker 4: A night game and then it's only been a day
- 40:37Speaker 4: game that I can remember. Once in Jaden's senior year.
- 40:42Speaker 2: Yeah, well yeah, yeah, when I had my my boys there,
- 40:46Speaker 2: Flynn brought his his crew there, Flint sat behind us,
- 40:49Speaker 2: and every time Matt House gave up a touchdown, I
- 40:52Speaker 2: remember Matt coming upstairs.
- 40:53Speaker 4: Like what coverage? What are we doing? What we play
- 40:55Speaker 4: it here? Quarters? Yeah?
- 41:00Speaker 2: You knew the rhetorical you knew the car Yeah, yes, yes,
- 41:03Speaker 2: rhetorical question Farley.
- 41:06Speaker 4: All right, text A and M.
- 41:07Speaker 6: Yeah, And I feel like there's like a genuine hate
- 41:09Speaker 6: between the.
- 41:10Speaker 4: Two seven overtime game. Did that?
- 41:12Speaker 2: Yeah it wasn't before then, but that that game certainly
- 41:15Speaker 2: did it. Yeah, all right, Texas A and M.
- 41:19Speaker 7: I mean, you know, one of the answers is Florida,
- 41:21Speaker 7: but y'all already did that. So I'll go to Auburn
- 41:24Speaker 7: because I'm upset l issues not playing Auburn this year.
- 41:26Speaker 4: Like growing up here, I agree with that.
- 41:29Speaker 7: You know, back when you guys played, the two big
- 41:32Speaker 7: games of the year were always Florida and Auburn. And
- 41:34Speaker 7: the thing I loved about him the most was they
- 41:36Speaker 7: were always home the same year it was the odd
- 41:39Speaker 7: years like oh seven. Like I was telling you guys,
- 41:41Speaker 7: like I can remember the exact spot that I was
- 41:44Speaker 7: sitting in when you hit Burd in the end zone.
- 41:46Speaker 7: It was a section three or one or thirty four.
- 41:48Speaker 7: If anybody's wondering, which is the Auburn game like something
- 41:53Speaker 7: out of the ordinary always seemed to happen, Like the
- 41:56Speaker 7: play at the last second LSU coming back at that
- 41:59Speaker 7: scorchy eleven AM game from twenty to nothing, the four
- 42:02Speaker 7: net game when he throws a guy over his shoulder
- 42:04Speaker 7: and you go back to the earthquake game, Like to
- 42:07Speaker 7: me outside of Florida, the Auburn game, like, at least
- 42:11Speaker 7: for me growing up, you know, early two thousands, really
- 42:14Speaker 7: getting into LSU football, that game always meant something and
- 42:17Speaker 7: something crazy always happened. So like Auburn's an easy answer
- 42:20Speaker 7: for me.
- 42:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm right there with you all. Florida and Auburn
- 42:22Speaker 2: probably would be my choices as well.
- 42:25Speaker 5: Wow, when when we were getting recruited at our at
- 42:27Speaker 5: our age, that was Auburn was the rival like we
- 42:31Speaker 5: like LSU has like this the rivalry that kind of
- 42:33Speaker 5: shifts and changes with the tide. But that was, you know,
- 42:37Speaker 5: coming off of the cigar game. That was coming off
- 42:41Speaker 5: of all different like the like all sorts of things
- 42:43Speaker 5: happening in pregames and post games. And I just remember
- 42:46Speaker 5: being recruited at the time, seeing the seeing the highlight
- 42:50Speaker 5: film that they show the recruits with Phil Collins in
- 42:52Speaker 5: the air tonight. Yeah, And I could see it coming
- 42:54Speaker 5: in the air tonight and they're smoking cigars in Tiger Stadium.
- 42:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 42:57Speaker 7: And look go back to a couple of years ago.
- 42:59Speaker 7: Bone Digs gets pulled out of the game from TJ.
- 43:01Speaker 7: Finley comes back in. It's one of the greatest plays
- 43:04Speaker 7: I've seen in Tiger Stadium. Home more away on that
- 43:07Speaker 7: fourth down where he throws a touchdown pass. Like Auburn
- 43:09Speaker 7: was dead in the water. They came back and won
- 43:11Speaker 7: that game. And like my dad raised me to hate
- 43:14Speaker 7: Auburn because of the cigar gave me's like Tyler that
- 43:17Speaker 7: got down, there's Tommy Tupperville and that sob was smoking
- 43:20Speaker 7: cigars on our field and like so like growing up,
- 43:23Speaker 7: Auburn was like the team I hate it all.
- 43:25Speaker 2: Right, we got to take a break more Auburn hate
- 43:27Speaker 2: when we come back here on HOTV.
- 43:29Speaker 3: Off the bench.
- 43:29Speaker 4: See these are the emotions.
- 43:31Speaker 2: We're talking about makes us go later, good Lord, some
- 43:35Speaker 2: juice that before never but we always go to pelicanroof

- 45:21Speaker 5: water Boy in all minute. I probably need to go
- 45:25Speaker 5: back and check it out.
- 45:26Speaker 2: I don't know if we've had time, but uh K
- 45:28Speaker 2: broughtup a good one of LSU Auburn during the break
- 45:32Speaker 2: twenty eighteen LSU at Auburn Cole Tracy at the end
- 45:35Speaker 2: of the game.
- 45:36Speaker 4: I lost my mind on the sideline watching that game.
- 45:39Speaker 4: I had never been in that building and experience in
- 45:41Speaker 4: LSU victory.
- 45:42Speaker 2: We lost both times as a player, once because they
- 45:44Speaker 2: called Ronnie Prude for landing on top of another player
- 45:46Speaker 2: on a miss extra point game. Another opportunity and the
- 45:49Speaker 2: game would have been tied, and they made it.
