- 0:09Well, shiver my Timbers and shiver my soul, because on May
- 0:1112th we're getting another live Muppet script reading, this time
- 0:15hitting the seven seas as they take on Muppet Treasure Island.
- 0:18As always, tough figures on board to present the official
- 0:20Companion podcast, which I can luckily do on land.
- 0:23Because this is true, I get awful seasickness.
- 0:26Joining me, as always as the show's director and producer and
- 0:28a good friend to us, a tough because Matt Wilkie.
- 0:30Hi, Matt. Yo ho ho.
- 0:34I don't know. I wasn't expecting that and they
- 0:36threw me. Well, expecting unexpected
- 0:38today. My first guest is an actor,
- 0:42voice actor, comedian and improviser who's appeared in
- 0:44shows like Dropouts, Make Some Noise and Game Changer, as well
- 0:47as games like The Last of Us 2 and Halo Infinite.
- 0:50They were also apparently an episode Full House.
- 0:52Is that true? Yes, yes, a very long time ago.
- 0:57Very long time ago. They've played Rizzo in the last
- 1:01two live script readings. So they're back again.
- 1:03They put the rat in Pirate. It's Erica Ishii.
- 1:05Hi, Erica. Hello, happy to be.
- 1:09Here, I'm so excited to have you here.
- 1:12My second guest is an actor, comedian and writer who's
- 1:15appealing shows like one of my personal favorites, Adam Ruins
- 1:17Everything, as well as dropouts Game Changer, Dimension 20.
- 1:20And I'm Actually she played Lady Holiday in the live script
- 1:24reading of The Great Muppet Caper, and she returns to the
- 1:26stage to play Jim Hawkins in Muppet Treasure Script Land
- 1:30Hawkins One. Sang Please, Sir, please Sir.
- 1:34Hawkins once sang. There's got to be something
- 1:36better. But there's no one better than
- 1:38Siobhan Thompson. Hi, Siobhan.
- 1:40There's got to be something better.
- 1:44Wonderful. Stop being better.
- 1:45I'm. Very excited.
- 1:49My. Whole career has been leading up
- 1:50to this. I was going to say I'm excited
- 1:52to have you both here and, and well, I mean, let's just jump
- 1:55straight in first. We'll start with you, Matt,
- 1:58you've known you were going to do this for a very long time.
- 2:01I remember talking to you about this particular script reading
- 2:04when you were organizing Caper. How's it been setting this one
- 2:10up? What's been the challenges and
- 2:12the differences? Well, you know, every everyone
- 2:15has its own challenges and differences.
- 2:17The great thing about Muppet Treasure Island, though, is that
- 2:21it feels very, very much like a musical.
- 2:24I think more than any of the other ones, especially like when
- 2:27you're watching it, like the sets are a little flatter, but
- 2:31it feels like it's a stage production.
- 2:34So this one I feel is going to translate really, really well.
- 2:37And so we're really excited. We've got a great cast.
- 2:41In addition to to these two lovely's here, we also have Mr.
- 2:46Brennan, Lee Mulligan that everyone is very about that he's
- 2:50he's he's going full circle in his own career as well, where
- 2:53he's playing Long John Silver with his infamous Tim Curry
- 2:55impression. And that was kind of the goal
- 2:58when we first started planning this one.
- 3:00I was like, we need Brent, we need Brent and we got him and
- 3:04then we've also got like so many wonderful, wonderful people.
- 3:07Siobhan told me back when we did Muppet Keeper how much she loves
- 3:12singing in Palsetto and I said. Have we got the role for you?
- 3:19I, I went to church schools all through school because much like
- 3:23the Australian school system, that's just what schools are in
- 3:27England. And so when you're, I was a big
- 3:30time choir kid, but in England that means singing a lot of
- 3:33hymns and madrigals. And it's such a specific type of
- 3:38singing that is completely useless in my day-to-day.
- 3:42But is also the kid who played Jim Hawkins was like a a
- 3:47chorister. And so that's that's the type of
- 3:50singing I have been trained to do.
- 3:53Soprano you you it's. Like AI can sing like a boy
- 3:56soprano, Yes. Well, if I remember didn't,
- 3:58what's his name? Kevin Bishop.
- 4:00Is that it? Yes.
- 4:01Yeah, Kevin Bishop. If I remember, he recorded temp
- 4:05tracks and then his voice broke and he couldn't sing like that
- 4:08anymore. So I think his songs in the film
- 4:11are his temp tracks before his voice broke.
- 4:13It that happened so often. We did Oliver as as one of the
- 4:18big musicals in in school and the kid playing Oliver, his
- 4:23voice started breaking the week of performances and he had to
- 4:27just be like, there's nothing you can do.
- 4:29He he was he had such a beautiful, angelic voice and
- 4:33then he was just like chugging ginger tea backstage.
- 4:38But there's you can't. You can't unbreak a voice once
- 4:41it's broken. No, no, I have.
- 4:42Fun, fun lore about me is that my middle school production of
- 4:48Oliver I played, I actually played the violin for it, and
- 4:53they sort of made a like a weird duet between me and Fagin.
- 4:57So for reviewing the situation, I did like a klezmer solo with,
- 5:02oh, that's a conversation. And it actually absolutely
- 5:04ripped. But yeah.
- 5:06That's great. They should do that.
- 5:08It it's great they should do that in more productions, but
- 5:11they had to like they sort of like double cast, you know,
- 5:15probably to eventual, you know, to guard against the eventuality
- 5:20of a voice breaking. One of the one of the Olivers
- 5:24was played by AJ Holmes of Star Kid fame.
- 5:27Oh amazing. Yeah.
- 5:29We so we've been in sort of comedy circles forever.
- 5:35Fun fact. So I was in my school
- 5:37production. We did High School Musical.
- 5:40Oh wow. Which was great fun.
- 5:42And and the kid who was playing Troy, his voice broke again that
- 5:46week. And there's a line in breaking
- 5:49free where he really just has to like belt out.
- 5:51We're breaking free like that. And his voice broke during that
- 5:56line. Now that happened to be the one
- 5:58they filmed and so I have that on DVD.
- 6:00Oh no. And you can just see me and the
- 6:03girl playing my girlfriend on stage just like, grab each
- 6:05other, like, don't laugh, don't laugh, don't laugh, don't laugh.
- 6:08So just I, I get it. I get it.
- 6:12And I'm hoping Siobhan, your voice doesn't break that way.
- 6:15I'm so too. We we had a girl playing Artful
- 6:20Dodger. So I I don't know why they, but
- 6:25I mean also the kid, but Bertie van der Beek is his name that
- 6:28was playing Oliver. He was excellent.
- 6:30He was great at it. He.
- 6:30Just thought an English name. Got really unlucky.
- 6:33Yeah, sounds. So made-up it sounds.
- 6:35So made. Up.
- 6:36It really does. It really does.
- 6:37And then his sister, who was in my year, was Theodora van der
- 6:40Beek. Of course.
- 6:42Yes, yeah, you're making these up.
- 6:45Well, Erica, how familiar with you with The Muppets growing up
- 6:49because like especially you've played Brazzo now a couple of
- 6:51times and you can really channel that essence.
- 6:55So I've got to assume you've been watching Brazzo since you a
- 6:57little. Yes, yes.
- 7:00Muppets is such a cornerstone of my childhood for sure.
- 7:06You know, I, I grew up, I was, you know, plopped in front of
- 7:08the TV to watch Sesame Street and, you know, all this sort of
- 7:12surrounding PBS of it all. I loved The Muppets.
- 7:17And so Muppet Muppet Christmas Carol definitely happened every
- 7:21year, especially actually in high school.
- 7:25And Muppet Treasure Island was huge for me for two reasons #1
- 7:31because I loved pirates. I loved pirates growing up.
- 7:34We had my parents, actually. My dad built a little pirate
- 7:38ship in the backyard out of scrap wood for my.
- 7:42That's amazing. Yeah, for my. 4th birthday, I
- 7:45had Peter Pan birthday and like we're in LA so we would hire
- 7:49like our out of work actor, my parents out of work actor
- 7:52friends to be like, like my gymnastics coach played Peter
- 7:57Pan and you know, he ended up loving it so much that he ended
- 8:00up being the Peter Pan in Fantasmic.
- 8:04And you know, so like it, like my childhood, the line between
- 8:09fantasy and and, you know, reality was very, very blurry
- 8:13indeed, but. It's honestly this make this
- 8:17unlocks a lot of puzzles I have about you right?
- 8:19It kind of. Makes a lot of sense, yeah.
- 8:23Yeah. And then also, you know, we, we
- 8:28got a computer fairly late as a family when I was in 7th grade.
- 8:33And like, there were a handful of games like cd-roms we had for
- 8:37it. And one of them was the Muppet
- 8:39Treasure Island CD-ROM game. And it was so much fun for me.
- 8:45It's so silly. There's like a tomato throwing
- 8:47game. There's you have to like find
- 8:50different rocks with the like. And our computer was very, very
- 8:55slow and we didn't, we did not have a good computer.
- 8:58So like some hand me down. And so it was always like a
- 9:00store. My sisters and I would sit in
- 9:02front of the computer and just sort of like press a thing and
- 9:07wait and like hope that it would move on to the next one because
- 9:11you never knew, especially in those sort of like FMV, you
- 9:16know, CD-ROM game eras. So I like grew, like I have so
- 9:22much of that movie and and the characters and the plot all just
- 9:28really in there committed to memory.
- 9:32Yeah, I am I I was just turned looking there.
- 9:34I actually found I have the CD-ROM game as well and I found
- 9:37it about 3 weeks ago and I used to speedrun that on a Saturday
- 9:42morning. Like my family would get up and,
- 9:44or like they'd go to like, you know, my brother played soccer
- 9:46or whatever it was and I would speedrun Muppet Treasure Island,
- 9:49the CD-ROM game. I think I got that down to about
- 9:52an hour and 20 minutes. I used to be able to speedrun
- 9:54that. Oh damn.
- 9:56Which you, you listen to it and you go, OK, well there in 20
- 9:59minutes. But keep in mind I think it's
- 10:00designed to last about 3 hours. Yeah, especially if your
- 10:05computer is very slow. Yes, which ours was.
- 10:07But I'm very, I'm excited that you also played that cause yeah,
- 10:11not a lot of people have Siobhan.
- 10:14You know, obviously growing up in England you maybe didn't
- 10:17have. The Muppets and especially in
- 10:18the the West, we definitely had The Muppets cause first of all,
- 10:22all of this stuff is shot in in English.
- 10:25True, yeah. Yeah, but yeah, Muppet Christmas
- 10:29Carol, me and my sister are. I caught.
- 10:33We watch it every year. We're quoting the whole thing.
- 10:36We're singing all of the songs. It's annoying to be around.
- 10:40And Muppet Treasure Island also just wonderful.
- 10:43And then growing up in the West Country, Treasure Island itself
- 10:46is like a big W country story. You know, it's all like Devon
- 10:53and Cornwall and Bristol. And the pirate accent is based
- 10:57on the Bristol accent, which is where basically where I'm from.
- 11:00It's where I went to university and so it feels very homey to
- 11:05me. It feels like I'm I'm going home
- 11:07a little bit. Matt, can you talk about casting
- 11:12Shivan and Erica? Yeah, it's it's just a fortune
- 11:19upon fortune. It's just, it's just wonderful
- 11:21to to have both of them. Yeah, it's Erica is when we when
- 11:28we were going to New York for the Muppet Stake script Hatton,
- 11:33I was talking to our our mutual friend Sax and we were talking
- 11:38about some casting and things that I had to do out there.
- 11:40And I didn't have a lot of people in New York.
- 11:42And Sax was like, well, by chance Erica is going to be
- 11:46there too for my birthday. And if you can get Erica in
- 11:49there. I was like, as soon as he said
- 11:51it, I was like, no, Erica needs to play Rizzo.
- 11:54That's just that's, that's the casting forever.
- 11:58Please. So, so, so we, we we got to
- 12:02talking. We realized that I realized that
- 12:05we had filmed a like a short video a long time ago for Loot
- 12:09Crate together when that was the whole thing that you that was
- 12:12around and and and so we got to reconnect and when she got on
- 12:17stage, it was just like the slam dunk, like there's nobody else
- 12:20that can do Rizzo. Now, yeah, Erica does have big
- 12:22Rizzo energy. Absolutely always Jelly beans.
- 12:25Jelly beans in their pocket at all time.
- 12:28Like Julie, I will. I will be snacking.
- 12:31I will be snacking When? Yeah, for.
- 12:34For Christmas, Carol, Matt sent me like a list of like, oh,
- 12:38these are different, you know, props that you may want to get
- 12:41these, like foods. And I was like, I'm already on
- 12:43it. I already have.
- 12:44I've already rewatched and made a list of all of the foods that
- 12:49I needed. Came prepared my own baguettes,
- 12:52my own Jelly beans, little apple beans, bags.
- 12:56Yeah, apples, Apples. Yeah, I I love Rizzo so much.
- 13:01He's just such a little guy. And I guess you know my.
- 13:06It's so fun to play a coward, yeah.
- 13:09Yeah, he's a little he's a little coward and he's fussy and
- 13:15just absolutely 0 awareness of of anything that he could do
- 13:19that that is wrong, but he loves it.
- 13:22His best friend. You you have to have a coward
- 13:25and an absolute outgoing extrovert.
- 13:28You know, that's it's a wonderful little, you know, sort
- 13:32of like a, you know, like an. RTD 2.
- 13:36Or yeah, or C3 and C3PO. You know, there's like all of
- 13:39these duos that are really, I feel like he is in the comedic
- 13:45inheritance, you know, of, of that dynamic.
- 13:49And it's just, it really is an honor to play Rizzo.
- 13:52And I think the New York accent, it, it's just so easy for me.
- 13:57You know, my parents are both New Yorkers.
- 14:01I yeah, I cannot believe that it worked out that way.
- 14:05Have you, have you started a prop list for this one yet,
- 14:09Erica? No, because I've been waiting.
- 14:12My girlfriend has never seen Muppet Treasure Island before.
- 14:16Oh my. God, that's kind of.
- 14:18I know, right? It's wild because you know,
- 14:21there's just certain films that you like always watch and take
- 14:24for granted, and then somebody who loves says they haven't and
- 14:27you're like, I've been remiss. Yeah, it's one that I had not
- 14:33watched for a long time. And then I, I, I also had, I had
- 14:37a friend who had not seen Muppet Treasure Island and was like,
- 14:41OK, great. We actually did a, a double act
- 14:43that was Muppet Treasure Island and Priscilla Queen of the
- 14:46Desert. And it was a, it was a absolute
- 14:51banger of a double act that they had not seen either of these
- 14:54movies. It's like, well, these are two
- 14:56of my favorite movies. We have to watch them both
- 14:58immediately. You know, that's you programming
- 15:01movies together. Thank you.
- 15:02And that is Siobhan. Yeah, that makes a lot of.
- 15:03Sense yes, there we go. That's it.
- 15:05That's my. That's two of my letterbox for.
- 15:10Siobhan, you played Lady Holiday in Caper?
- 15:13Yes, I'm committed to only playing humans.
- 15:15Only playing humans. And in these and English puppet
- 15:19readings I've noticed as well, but I.
- 15:21Only I only know one British person so.
- 15:23Yeah, yeah, yeah. It it's helpful for me.
- 15:25I'm really, yeah, I'm the diversity hire British edition.
- 15:30I'm just trying to think if there's any Australians in any
- 15:33of the films so that I can get a gig because I think I'm the only
- 15:35Australian, you know, Matt, but unfortunately.
- 15:38So I think so, yeah, maybe. No, I was going to say Jermaine
- 15:42Clements, but that's New Zealand's so.
- 15:44Yeah, don't confuse us. No, but Siobhan, how are you
- 15:47finding taking on the role of Hawkins?
- 15:51It's so fun. I mean, I feel like it's such a
- 15:54classic. Like obviously it's a boy
- 16:00playing it in the movie, but it does feel like a trouser roll.
- 16:04It does feel like, you know, like Viola and 12th Night or
- 16:07something. That's like, there's a lot of
- 16:09jokes that are funny because it's a woman playing him.
- 16:14Like literally at some point he's like, and I'm not a girl.
- 16:20Great. I'm gonna have so much fun.
- 16:22There's there's you know, I won't, I won't spoil it on Mike
- 16:25here, but there is I added a little extra to the end of that
- 16:28line that I think will. Amazing.
- 16:29Give us a little extra junk on that, yeah.
- 16:31Great. Wonderful.
- 16:32Well, yeah, you've also got blind Pew calling.
- 16:36Jim a little girl. Pretty Little girl.
- 16:39Yeah. Blind Pew.
- 16:41One of the scariest actor characters in fiction.
- 16:45I remember seeing a non muppet version of Muppet Treasure
- 16:48Island as a young child and remembering being like
- 16:53absolutely terrified of blind Pew.
- 16:56So scary because you're just like in your in, you've never
- 17:00left. You're in.
- 17:01You're lightly abused by the landlady and then all of a
- 17:04sudden pirates are in your house and they're trying to kill you.
- 17:09Great. They just need to be performed
- 17:11by Jerry Nelson and we'll be fine.
- 17:14Well, with Hawkins, because it's a bit more of a straight role
- 17:16than say, Rio or any of the others.
- 17:19How, Where are you landing on that scale of like respecting
- 17:22the source material to like, no, I want some damn laughs and I'm
- 17:25just going to go for it. I think actually the voice of
- 17:31reason often gets more laughs than anybody else because the
- 17:37crazy person isn't funny if there's not somebody reacting to
- 17:40it. But I think, sorry, this cat's
- 17:47fighting right behind me. I do think like me playing an
- 17:52incredibly naive boy is as funny as I need it to be.
- 17:56I don't need to lead into anything more than that.
- 17:59That's very juicy for me. I'm I will play it as straight
- 18:06as I can within those parameters.
- 18:09And that's what makes it funny. Yeah, because Jim is, God bless
- 18:13him, nobody is trusted, more trustful than Jim Hawkins.
- 18:19He just absolutely accepting of everybody, immediately
- 18:23credulous, credulous, just so excited to be included.
- 18:29Yeah, and you know, I think it, you know, you could write a
- 18:32whole or do a whole essay on the role of earnestness in Muppets
- 18:39and Muppet actors. I think they, you know, Jim
- 18:42Hawkins and and the Jim role is like one of those like very
- 18:47straight ahead, very, very human.
- 18:49Sort of it's the sort of Michael Caine in Christmas Carol.
- 18:54You know where is obviously, you know, the Tim Curry and and some
- 18:59other and other human roles are there.
- 19:02They get to be big and goofy because they're.
- 19:05Yeah, there's that thing of like, Jim.
- 19:08Yeah. Michael Caine was playing like
- 19:12he was the only human and everybody's a human.
- 19:16And Tim Curry is playing like he's a Muppet and everybody else
- 19:19is a Muppet. And I think it's that like,
- 19:22there's never a moment where Michael Caine looks into the
- 19:26camera and makes a meta joke and Tim Carey does that like 5 * a
- 19:30scene. Yeah.
- 19:33And that's that great interview. I'm sure you've seen it but
- 19:37maybe people haven't seen it of him talking to his Muppet stand
- 19:43in which they made, I think just for that interview they made a
- 19:48Muppet stand in of Tim Curry that is so good and so funny.
- 19:53Like the extras for this movie are top tier and it made me like
- 19:59God they don't make extras for DVDs like this anymore.
- 20:03Yeah, no. Kim Curry's book as well I've
- 20:07I've read and he he really has committed to the joke that he
- 20:11and Piggy had an affair. Yes, I've seen that interview as
- 20:14well. He's done the interview and in
- 20:15his book he does not let up. He just talks about an affair
- 20:19with Miss Petey a little bit and it's like, I just, I love the
- 20:21man. Erica, you've played against
- 20:25multiple Gonzos as of time of recording.
- 20:29I don't know if there's a gonzo locked in.
- 20:30We'll move past that at the moment, but how does that
- 20:32change? Does that change he take on the
- 20:34role or are you just playing Rizzo?
- 20:37For Manhattan, it since it was like Rizzo's introduction,
- 20:41there's not as much interaction with Gonzo.
- 20:43It's not really until until Christmas Carol that they you
- 20:50know, you know all the background for why they decide
- 20:52to pair up Gonzo and Rizzo and that's really when the magic
- 20:56happened and that's honestly, you know, David Dust Mulchen as
- 21:00Gonzo is such a revelation. It's just, he understands just
- 21:06the mind of that weirdo so perfectly.
- 21:09And it was. We met each other moments before
- 21:12the curtain went up for the matinee and sort of a scene and
- 21:18we realized, oh, we're already. Is it OK that we like, have been
- 21:22tucked like hugging and stuff each other?
- 21:25Are you, you know, like retroactive consent?
- 21:27Is that OK? We're like, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 21:29It's good. It's good.
- 21:29And just immediately this report, and I mean, yeah, it
- 21:36when I say that his gonzo elevated my Rizzo, I mean, it's
- 21:40just remarkable. And so, you know, it's it's I'm
- 21:44so sad. I know he couldn't join us for
- 21:47this one, but I Matt's eye for casting is candy.
- 21:54I agree. Thank.
- 21:56You thank you. It's, it's something I'm very,
- 21:58very proud of and I, I give major shout outs to my wife and
- 22:02Co producer Grace. She also helps me out a lot with
- 22:05casting. We, we sit down and really like
- 22:09look at who do, who do we know who our friends, who do we want
- 22:12to work with? And it's just who, who can not
- 22:17necessarily do impressions. We're never really looking for
- 22:20impressions. It's just the embodiment of
- 22:22those. Characters.
- 22:23And, and we're very fortunate that we get people like Mark
- 22:27Evan Jackson, who just is, is Kermit.
- 22:29He's up there and he's Kermit. We have Nina W, who is is Miss
- 22:34Piggy like there's no. Nina W is miss Piggy I I it's
- 22:38just just an astonishing career high performance.
- 22:42I feel like just just so good like better than better than any
- 22:48miss piggy. But the OG, you know, like
- 22:54really embodies the like not only can do the voice perfectly,
- 22:58but really embody the chaotic energy that Miss Piggy should
- 23:01have of I'm going to I'm going to mess things up, I'm going to
- 23:05break things. I have nothing can get in my
- 23:07way. I will kiss that frog.
- 23:10Yeah, I I saw like an official. I've seen a couple of official
- 23:15piggy things recently and I, you know, no offense, but yeah,
- 23:22yeah, miss West that. I feel like.
- 23:25Blows it out of the water. That needs to be an there's a
- 23:28there's a level of politeness, I think to almost all the piggies
- 23:34which does not vibe with the correct he is is impolite and
- 23:41should be at all times rude and raunchy and not really listening
- 23:46to anybody. Yes, yes, in her own she is like
- 23:52she invented manifesting. Yes, it's that's so funny.
- 23:58There is a core like a like, like a like a core to each
- 24:04Muppet. And I think that you really hit
- 24:06a point. Delulu is the salulu for Miss
- 24:09Piggy. Yeah, wow.
- 24:14I love it. Matt, these guys have said that
- 24:17you have an eye for casting. We know you like to cast
- 24:20yourself occasionally in some of these smaller roles.
- 24:23Any little hints as to who you might be playing?
- 24:27I am so so I am playing a role and it's more of a necessity at
- 24:33this point. This, this show, again, this one
- 24:37feels very much like a musical. There's Sailing for Adventure,
- 24:41for example. There's 20 singing parts in that
- 24:45song. There are 20 singers who are
- 24:48going to sing at least a few lines in that song, and so there
- 24:52was a lot of coordinating. I actually had like I made on
- 24:57paper a replica of the dynasty stage with little cards for
- 25:00everybody's name so I could figure out how the movements.
- 25:02Were amazing. It was incredibly detailed and
- 25:07so for myself, the way that it could work out so that we could
- 25:11still have dead Tom was for me to play real old Tom.
- 25:16So that will be my role. In the show.
- 25:19So I will be real old Tom and and pretty much every time you
- 25:22see me, I will have a skeleton with me.
- 25:24Great. Wonderful.
- 25:26Do we know who's playing Angel Marie yet?
- 25:27Because I'm hoping at one stage they're going to have the fruit
- 25:30hat and the hauler skirt and the ukulele.
- 25:33Oh, we're, we're, we'll, we'll have that.
- 25:35So, so we, we have cast Angel Maria.
- 25:39That's going to be Giovanni, our good friend.
- 25:41Wonderful. Fantastic.
- 25:42Yeah. Perfect casting, right?
- 25:45OK. Giovanni and a bald cap.
- 25:47Absolutely and our our Co producer Missy Steele is right
- 25:53now working on the big fruit hat that will go on.
- 25:57I love it and. That's amazing and Giovanni will
- 25:59commit and I'm excited to see. It.
- 26:01Oh, yes, everybody, Yeah. Yep, Siobhan, I have a very,
- 26:05very important question for you. Great, the most important
- 26:08question of the entire podcast. Did you know 2 raccoons can fit
- 26:12up? I'm so glad you understood that
- 26:16reference and the other two. I looked at my TikTok out.
- 26:21I looked at my TikTok like statistics and the top search
- 26:25that led to my page was did you know that two raccoons can fit
- 26:28up? I did figure out what it was,
- 26:31which was two years ago. I'd stitched somebody who had
- 26:36said, do you know that you can fit two raccoons up here through
- 26:38your butt hole because they were shooting it in bath like that.
- 26:45They somebody had set up a camera in like the place where I
- 26:49did when because I briefly worked as an archaeologist in
- 26:53the place where I had done the archaeological dig and was like,
- 26:58fun fact, this is this is where I worked as an archaeologist.
- 27:02So every time you see one of these videos, this is imagine me
- 27:05in the mud. So I somebody and I didn't
- 27:08figure it out. Somebody else figured it out and
- 27:10tagged me, but a very strange like.
- 27:17Why is this leading people to my page?
- 27:21No, I did. I did have a good laugh when I
- 27:23saw that video. And I was like, well, I need to
- 27:24ask Yvonne that question. Yeah, yeah.
- 27:26So it the the the Riddle has been solved.
- 27:29The mystery has been. And the answer to the rest of
- 27:32the question was just as bothersome as I thought it would
- 27:35be. Yes, yeah, it's it's what you
- 27:39worried it would be. Yeah, is what it is.
- 27:42Yeah. Look, as we start to wrap up
- 27:45what just. Like we're moving on to it's so.
- 27:50Confused the entire thing. You can, Erica, you personally
- 27:54can fit two raccoons up your butt hole.
- 27:56Yeah. Two quitters.
- 27:59I know that's for two is for quitters 3.
- 28:06You know Erica. Those two raccoons up her butt
- 28:08hole. A good start.
- 28:15Let's move on as we start to wrap up.
- 28:17I am a giant Dropout fan. You know Erica, who would be
- 28:23your ideal Muppet Co stars for an episode of Make Some Noise?
- 28:27Oh my God, like out of all Muppets.
- 28:32All Muppets can be can be Sesame as well if you'd like.
- 28:36Oh, sesame as well. I feel like.
- 28:43I think it might be all the chickens because I feel like
- 28:47they really actually take care of me in that way.
- 28:51They'd be like really great support.
- 28:52Yeah, they're generous performas.
- 28:54They're very generous performers.
- 28:56I feel like I sometimes start out very timid getting off the
- 29:03back line, but that they would be very good for sort of setting
- 29:07us up, you know, initiating and that they would definitely
- 29:13commit to any bit that I did. Good choice.
- 29:18I think it'll be the chickens, yeah.
- 29:20And Siobhan who? Which Muppets are you playing
- 29:22D&D with? Animal, but that's already what
- 29:31it's like playing DND with Erica so.
- 29:33Yeah. Yep.
- 29:35Who? All right, Well, who do you
- 29:36think could take? On.
- 29:39Who do you think could take on Brennan's role?
- 29:43You know, here's who I think could do it.
- 29:45I think Rolf could do it. I was gonna say.
- 29:48Role. You know Rolf, a jazz musician
- 29:51so already great at improvising, really good at knowing when to
- 29:55step forward and when to step back.
- 29:57A real good team player. I love Rolf.
- 30:00Yep, that's a wonderful choice. Especially since Bria has
- 30:03portrayed Rolf in prior. Oh amazing.
- 30:10I think also scooter might be good scooter.
- 30:13Yeah, Scooter's pretty grounded. Yeah, yeah, He would be checking
- 30:17in with you constantly to be like, am I doing a good job?
- 30:20Yeah, everybody happy. Am I doing a good job?
- 30:23He would be very good at keeping everybody on track though, I
- 30:27think that's. True.
- 30:28Yeah, he has big AD energy, big assistant director energy.
- 30:34I love it. Matt, have you been able to
- 30:36gaslight any of these guys yet into thinking this might be an
- 30:38episode of Game Changer? I've I've considered it.
- 30:42I've considered it. It could be, it could still
- 30:45could be. I genuinely rent to RAF
- 30:48Chestang's wedding with a little.
- 30:50Voice in the back of my. Head going Is this a game
- 30:53changer? It could be.
- 30:55He's. He's gathered all of us
- 30:56together. Yeah, it could be I.
- 30:59Think so. The thing is, there are a
- 31:01handful of people that I don't think that that that Sam will do
- 31:07an elaborate ruse for and then a handful of us that he certainly
- 31:11will not like. So Siobhan.
- 31:13I think he's too scared of me. Lou, I think no, I mean like you
- 31:17guys did, had, you know, the escape.
- 31:19Room. Oh yeah, he did lock us in an
- 31:20escape room. He did, yes.
- 31:22I feel like. You weren't definitely on the
- 31:24yes list because like, you know, like people will be like, oh,
- 31:29Siobhan will lose her mind. But also we did like win, you
- 31:33know, we'll we'll win. I think for me that they're they
- 31:38that he might be worried that I'd like try to break the game
- 31:43or the walls or in some way sort of like, you know, as the crow
- 31:49flies it, you know, just sort of like get to the finish, you
- 31:55know. And and so I don't think that
- 31:57Sam will ever plan anything elaborate, you know, to to fool
- 32:03me like because I might start hitting people or something.
- 32:08Or that's that's the fear I. Yes, yeah, but Cortana that you
- 32:13keep in your car at old time will suddenly be in your hands
- 32:16just. It's just broken.
- 32:18So it's not an it's not actually.
- 32:20It's just wood, okay? OK, I do.
- 32:24I am still scared of you with a wooden sword.
- 32:27I know how heavy they are. That's that's enough.
- 32:30Yeah, it's yeah. Well, he has.
- 32:33Thank you the whole time. Would you please welcome Sam?
- 32:35No, Matt, tell us who we're supporting for this script
- 32:40reading. Thank you.
- 32:41Thank you. I would love to you.
- 32:43So for this show, we're going to be raising funds for the
- 32:45California Collaborative for Immigrant Justice, and I'm very
- 32:48happy about that. The CCIJ utilizes coordination,
- 32:52advocacy and legal services to fight for the liberation of
- 32:56immigrants in detention in California, envisioning a world
- 32:59where no one is subject to incarceration or family
- 33:02separation, things that I very, very strongly believe in.
- 33:06You can bleep it if you want, but fuck ICE.
- 33:08And this is what we're mostly going for here, Yeah.
- 33:11Buckeyes. Buckeyes.
- 33:12I'm not. I'm not bleeping that.
- 33:15Fuck yeah. I'll bleep that.
- 33:19OK, Matt, tell us how we can get tickets.
- 33:22I believe I have that. I believe they've sold out in
- 33:24person. In person, sold out.
- 33:26Listen, I, I, I want to thank anybody here who's listening
- 33:29that bought a ticket in person because we literally sold out
- 33:32the theater in under 3 minutes and it was wow.
- 33:35It's crazy. And we are so, so, so happy
- 33:40about that. We are still going to live
- 33:43stream. We always live stream.
- 33:44We love live streaming, so you can purchase tickets for that at
- 33:47dynasty.tv. The live stream will go up live
- 33:51and then it'll also be available for two weeks after, so you
- 33:54don't need to watch it live. You guys can watch it or you can
- 33:56watch it again and again for those two weeks.
- 34:00I also recommend, highly recommend viewing parties or
- 34:05people getting together and watching the live stream
- 34:07together. They're always, that is always a
- 34:09good time. Great choice.
- 34:12And if, if you are to, if anyone out there is doing a live
- 34:14stream, please take some or a viewing party, take some photos,
- 34:18send it to us. I would love to see them, yes.
- 34:20Absolutely dress up. Oh yeah, I'm talking fruit hat.
- 34:24I want to see everyone. In a fruit hat?
- 34:25Absolutely everybody. Oops, all fruit hats.
- 34:30Excellent, Erica. Tell people where they can find
- 34:32you. I am at Erica Ishi on most
- 34:37things. I have my my website is bet is
- 34:41back up again, ericaishi.com. I have a podcast, World's Beyond
- 34:46Number with Brennan Abria and Lou Wilson.
- 34:49And yeah, I I am so excited about this.
- 34:56I'm excited to to see you play Russo again.
- 34:59Siobhan, where can we find you? I'm at Vonnie Tom across most
- 35:05platforms. Dimension 20 is streaming at the
- 35:08moment on dropout.tv. We're doing vampires in small
- 35:14town Oregon and then I'm also crowdfunding for a movie called
- 35:22The Greatest Treasure in the World with a bunch of.
- 35:23Hell yeah. Our our faves and if you go to
- 35:26BIT dot LY forward slash treasure film, you can find more
- 35:30information about that. It's a different I'm I'm doing
- 35:33only treasure related content for the next two months.
- 35:37So fortunately this fit in with my schedule.
- 35:42Perfect. Well, that makes sense because
- 35:43you are a treasure. Oh, you.
- 35:47Sucker, I'm going to throw up. And Matt, where can people find
- 35:51you? They can find me at that Matt
- 35:54Wilkie on Instagram as well as the Muppet script at Instagram.
- 35:59Perfect. Well, I'm looking forward to it.
- 36:01As I said before, shiver my tender siver, siver my soul.
- 36:05I stuff that up and keep it in because that's just what I do.
- 36:09And thank you. Very much yo-yo.
- 36:11Yo-yo. And margaritas at the midnight
- 36:14buffet.
