- Sue: Throughout my career, I've had periods of time where my side hustle. My LLC business plays a more substantial role in the income that I earn than other years. And let's say the other years are when I'm working a full-time job and, you know, I have these projects come in that I devote my weekends or my nights to. And, you know, once the project's done, it's maybe a time period in between the next project kind of thing. Now, although I have a part-time job, my LLC business has to contribute the remaining part of that income should be about 50%. It might be substantially less. And I'm speaking this morning about the mindset of how you function with your life and all aspects that pertain to that income that you don't earn to get through the next more income producing period or to accept it as well. is the way life is. And for this foreseeable future, I do X, Y, and Z and not A, B, and C. And if things change for the better, then I can implement A, B, and C back in my life kind of thinking. And that's where I'm at. The idea here is that I know how to live really frugally but with a high level of interest and engagement because I know that the value for me is having diverse sources of food because we all have to eat. Aside from applying to whatever jobs I see online that I feel I'm a good fit for and wish to work for, the business that I normally do is not coming across my desk the virtual desk as it used to and there are lot of reasons for that. All of us are living in the same society in America so you know that there might be multiple reasons why clients come and go. Accepting of that as I do then that gives me the value back into my life of being able to utilize that available time and that is I might as well be creative and the knock-on effect for being creative means I feel better. Mind, body and spirit all three realms ping-pong. ping-ping. And for me, that knock-on means that I'm doing the right thing for myself. Not to ignore anything else that may come across my virtual desk, but why waste the time by not doing in the meantime? There's a certain level of guilt that one can internalize when you come to this place in your life, because we've all been there where we've had jobs and we've employed our services to others in such a way that we really don't know what our routine is. when we are the sole proprietor of our income creation. So when you have this large chunk of time where now I can say, I've done everything else I can do for myself, well, I'm also a Create. I can feel alienating at first. Why should I be allowed to give myself that value? Because creative energy is adding value no matter how you slice it in any realm. It's a good thing. Confirmation with a crow. So then being the curious person I am, I ask myself, where did that mindset come from that I should feel guilty about spending time creatively adding value to myself. And of course it comes back to our, you know, in our American life. It's our work culture of having a, for the most part, working a full-time job or having the kind of service business that people utilize such that, you know, you keep a regular income sustained without having too much advertising or promotion efforts, et cetera. And that if you're not doing that, you're less than, because some folks will take it that far. And then the realization comes to me to self. That's not my energy. Why should I feel guilty about valuing myself? Yeah, there's no reason to do that. I mean, I'm not saying my work is outstanding. If you enjoy it, great, but that's not important to me. So why should I feel guilty? Makes no sense, right? This is the kind of discernment that gets laid to waste as we grow older and get more involved with systems and traditions and ways of doing things and procedures and I'm not knocking it, but we don't see ourselves within those organizations as independent souls. And we are always an independent soul. It's the nature of the programming or the rules, the expected behaviors in those societies. Well, I'm in my own society. I'm the one making the rules. ⁓ yeah, I forgot about them. Now on a practical issue, we all have to eat. And we all have to earn income to eat, most likely. I don't think I'm talking to independently wealthy people here. That said, it's all about being able to balance the needs of whatever income lack you're experiencing such that you know the time that you're spending is the most high value for yourself you can afford to do under the circumstances. And it's okay. You don't need permission from anybody but you and you've just let yourself do it. The beauty of creation is that it's there for everyone from this day forward throughout the history of humanity to enjoy it or to not engage with it. But it's there. All I'm saying is the subtlety of some of these emotions can feel normal. And then once you recognize that people are projecting those vibes onto you to ensure that you stay within a certain success parameter, then you understand the perniciousness of it all. Feeling guilty about adding value to myself to make me not do it, to keep me stuck and contained within a certain parameter? No. Well, thank you. This is life. all about appreciating the fact that today may be my last. Why wouldn't I want to add value to my life? Doesn't mean people will engage with it. I mean, you're listening to this and I appreciate that and I'm my own value statement with your listening. Still, I also recognize that I'm one of eight billion people currently on this earth. Everybody's got stuff to do other than look at my content or listen to it and if they do I'm really grateful. That's adding value to my life. Nobody can stop that. So then you begin to understand that the thinkers behind this idea of stopping my success with incoming negative energetic projections not to be tolerated. Culturally, people in society might view those who work self-employed as being less than. At this point in my life, having time to create, which adds value to my legacy going forward, is exactly what I anticipated I'd be doing when I got to this age when I was younger. It's not generating any royalty income at the moment. It's going to take time. This is just another unseen but nonetheless real energy that will materialize when it's meant to. We all have such things in our lives. So when you get somebody telling you how it is that this thing that you think you can't see is not real because of that, not being able to see it, that might be bunkum on their part. Might be an intentional smoke. screen as to why they'd create a smoke screen? Who knows? But to be aware, nonetheless, that the manipulation exists if only... to keep you in the dark from being the best that you could possibly be. Why would anybody want to interfere with another's life in that way? It's not their place. And yet, we let it happen because we trust the people that are in charge to do so on some level. This time of year, I've got plenty of opportunities to be outside and not creating, and that energy is the same one. ⁓ yeah, well, don't create. Go out and work in the yard. Good day to do that. Okay, no, I think I'll create instead. By virtue of my employment side hustle work, my side hustle has always been that, a side hustle. Other people in my industry, the music business, have made the side hustles that I've used over the years main sources of income, but I haven't. I've had the opportunity to be in service to others as an employee. So the mindset has never really been there that the side hustle becomes the main hustle until four or five years ago. And while I have the basic knowledge of what it is to maintain relationships and engagement and deliver products on time and, you know, keep a bookkeeping and all of the essentials. And still, that's with everyone, sort of dependent on what is happening in our country. You know, we can go through economic recessions or health crises like a pandemic and all of that work is affected whether you're an employee or a freelancer or a business owner. So the only thing you can do is with experience is to figure out how to make the most out of nothing in every aspect of your life. But if you have no finances going into that event to live off of or to maintain the company in the way that the business requires, it's a lot to try and... create out of nothing. So you're always investing in yourself. You're always adding value. You're always looking at things not from a standpoint of doing them more cheaply, but more about how much personal value do I add to each and every product, whether I'm a hired gun or whether I'm doing my own creation, manifesting a business that sustains itself during the leanness of time where I'm going. And of course, anybody that has money will tell you it's not just the business that generates income, it's the wealth that you generate by not having to spend money as part of it. And I'm sure that has some other advice if they want to chime in, feel free. I'm all ears. I'm just trying to figure this stuff out. So I'm glad to have your your tips. It's all about recognizing that when you feel the vibe and energies of things that might seem to have a legitimate place in your life as no, not really. I don't need to have that confusion added into my life to being able to assert yourself and say, okay, that ain't my Let it go so I can get back to valuing myself. Confirmation with a mallard. Woodpecker. Thank you for taking time to listen. I'm really grateful. Be mundane stuff going on in my life and if it resonates, I'm also grateful.
