- 0:01Speaker 1: Charge about.
- 0:04Speaker 2: What did you think when you saw the news ten
- 0:06Speaker 2: and twenty seven or ten and seventeen, I should say
- 0:08Speaker 2: at the time, twenty seven games in the Red Sox
- 0:10Speaker 2: say no thanks to Alex Korra, who wasn't even halfway
- 0:14Speaker 2: through his current contract. And then they asked a number
- 0:16Speaker 2: of coaches that were kind of on his side, his corner,
- 0:19Speaker 2: his guys, and they kept their drive Line team, which
- 0:24Speaker 2: is a number of the coaches. Kyle Body, who was
- 0:28Speaker 2: the originator of drive Line, works for the team. And
- 0:31Speaker 2: then they've got some pitching guys. Andrew Bailey's still there
- 0:33Speaker 2: the whole deal. So there's been a clear cut separation
- 0:36Speaker 2: here where aj Breslow said, Hey, I'm going to keep
- 0:40Speaker 2: my data guys for pitching and I'm going to get
- 0:43Speaker 2: rid of the rest.
- 0:44Speaker 3: Basically, the whole thing is, I think we've talked about
- 0:46Speaker 3: this four. If you work for drive Line at drive
- 0:50Speaker 3: Line anytime, if you've been to drive Line, if you've
- 0:53Speaker 3: been around drive Line, if you've been in the neighborhood, area, code, county,
- 0:58Speaker 3: state of drive Line, and they will just hire you
- 1:02Speaker 3: as a coach and keep you as a coach forever,
- 1:03Speaker 3: because apparently you know more than a lot of people.
- 1:06Speaker 3: That's what I'm starting to figure out about this Driveline
- 1:09Speaker 3: thing is that if you're just in the area, like
- 1:10Speaker 3: you don't even have to I don't even I mean,
- 1:13Speaker 3: you know these guys. These people go there for like
- 1:15Speaker 3: a half a year, and like major League coach, he
- 1:17Speaker 3: was at drive Line for half a year. It's it's
- 1:19Speaker 3: crazy to me some of the names on this list.
- 1:22Speaker 3: I mean Alex Scorer first of all, talk to anybody
- 1:25Speaker 3: that's played for him. They love the guy. I mean,
- 1:27Speaker 3: I've been around him a lot, He's been on our show.
- 1:29Speaker 3: I love talking to baseball. I was I was shocked.
- 1:35Speaker 3: I was with a bunch of Boston people and they
- 1:37Speaker 3: were like what they were like what you know in
- 1:41Speaker 3: their Boston accents. But I mean, the Hudson third base
- 1:46Speaker 3: coach doesn't make any sense to what did he do?
- 1:48Speaker 3: He scored too many runs? He'd only score runs when
- 1:51Speaker 3: they give him a chance. Jason Vertek, were you assigned
- 1:53Speaker 3: in the organ?
- 1:54Speaker 4: Like what are we doing?
- 1:55Speaker 3: But Jason Vertec, I mean, I'm sure he's probably on
- 1:57Speaker 3: Alex corside because the deal is Alex cor pushback on
- 2:00Speaker 3: something and we had heard about this before. He clearly
- 2:04Speaker 3: pushed back on whatever it was that they were saying
- 2:07Speaker 3: he needed to do. Whether it was analytics, I don't
- 2:09Speaker 3: know because I'm not.
- 2:10Speaker 4: In the room.
- 2:11Speaker 3: This is a shocker to me because Alex core also
- 2:14Speaker 3: has seven and a half this year and seven and
- 2:16Speaker 3: a half next year left on his deal, so they're
- 2:19Speaker 3: paying him what I'm twenty fifteen, that's fifteen about eleven
- 2:24Speaker 3: million dollars, twelve million dollars To not be the manager
- 2:28Speaker 3: to an organization that wouldn't go out and try to
- 2:30Speaker 3: get the right pieces to fit, wouldn't give Alex Pragman.
- 2:33Speaker 4: A no trade clause, I don't know. It's shocking to me.
- 2:37Speaker 4: And I listen.
- 2:37Speaker 3: I played with Craig Breslow. I like Craig Breslow. He
- 2:39Speaker 3: can't get Craig Breslow to come on the show, though,
- 2:42Speaker 3: which is strange.
- 2:43Speaker 4: But I don't know.
- 2:45Speaker 3: I mean, I've had this conversation with a million people
- 2:48Speaker 3: in my life, and I'm sure christ has had it too.
- 2:50Speaker 4: I get analytics, I understand analytics. I understand the importance
- 2:54Speaker 4: of analytics.
- 2:55Speaker 3: Okay, but at some point you have to have people
- 2:58Speaker 3: that can tell your play how to do the analytics
- 3:01Speaker 3: on the field, and there also has to be something
- 3:04Speaker 3: in the organization in the dugout. And this is the
- 3:06Speaker 3: one thing that Philly's got in trouble with, you know,
- 3:09Speaker 3: Casiano said it. You have to have somebody that the
- 3:11Speaker 3: players can go to on this team and then in
- 3:14Speaker 3: the dugout and say, hey, how do you how am
- 3:16Speaker 3: I supposed to react to? I got to face the
- 3:18Speaker 3: closer in the ninth inning with the game online and the.
- 3:21Speaker 4: Guy, I'm sorry, the guy from drive Line.
- 3:22Speaker 3: He might be able to tell you the perfect swing
- 3:25Speaker 3: path on the perfect pitch and just exactly how to swing,
- 3:28Speaker 3: But when the pressure ramps up and the crowd gets
- 3:31Speaker 3: going crazy and you're facing I don't know who's the
- 3:34Speaker 3: best closer in base Mason Miller right now, how in
- 3:37Speaker 3: the heck do I get a hit off of them?
- 3:39Speaker 3: And the driveling guy can't tell you how to control
- 3:41Speaker 3: your heartbeat and all that stuff because they've never done it.
- 3:43Speaker 4: And that's on a knock on those guys.
- 3:44Speaker 3: They have their role, but you have to have a
- 3:46Speaker 3: mix and I think Alex Corr was one of the
- 3:49Speaker 3: best guys I've ever seen at mixing the analytics and
- 3:53Speaker 3: with the players and having communication with the players. I know,
- 3:56Speaker 3: Jason Veritek was awesome. I mean I played against him forever.
- 3:59Speaker 3: I've known him forever. He's awesome guy to have around.
- 4:01Speaker 3: Ramon Vasquez, I.
- 4:02Speaker 4: Mean I've always had great relationship with him. I don't know,
- 4:05Speaker 4: it was just surprising. I don't know.
- 4:07Speaker 3: I'm shocked by this. Hey, good luck, Alex. I love
- 4:13Speaker 3: you and I'm glad that you're happy.
- 4:17Speaker 4: I think it's really just I.
- 4:19Speaker 5: Mean, aren't we supposed to make the decisions for the
- 4:22Speaker 5: big league team based on what's happening on the field. Yeah, okay,
- 4:26Speaker 5: they're eleven seventeen now that say, you know the season's
- 4:30Speaker 5: not going very well. But when you make decisions with
- 4:35Speaker 5: coaches based on what's happening on the field, then, to me,
- 4:41Speaker 5: I think there was a lot of proof in the pudding.
- 4:43Speaker 5: There was a lot of the fact that Honey, Kyle Hudson,
- 4:46Speaker 5: guy played with back I think in twenty eleven or twelve,
- 4:50Speaker 5: has done a great job with base running, outfield defense.
- 4:53Speaker 5: There's a lot of goal that he's worked with out
- 4:55Speaker 5: there Veritech. I think his resume speaks for itself. Uh
- 5:00Speaker 5: and Alice cor like you said, Ramona Vasquez, different guys
- 5:04Speaker 5: are getting fired that it feels like less of a
- 5:10Speaker 5: baseball move and more of a well, this isn't the
- 5:14Speaker 5: type of.
- 5:15Speaker 4: Culture that we want.
- 5:17Speaker 5: I don't know anything about the culture that they have,
- 5:18Speaker 5: but I'm saying that the front office is setting there.
- 5:23Speaker 5: They've cleared from last year when they got rid of
- 5:26Speaker 5: one of the better hitters in the game, Raffie Devers.
- 5:29Speaker 5: They're saying, our way is better than anything that you
- 5:33Speaker 5: guys know.
- 5:35Speaker 4: We are.
- 5:36Speaker 5: We are trumping anything that the people on the field
- 5:40Speaker 5: know about what success is going to look like in Boston,
- 5:43Speaker 5: whether that's front office, whether that's ownership telling front office
- 5:46Speaker 5: to do it this way. And it was it culminated
- 5:50Speaker 5: in the fact that in their meeting they were told
- 5:53Speaker 5: not to ask questions. They were not they were told
- 5:56Speaker 5: not to second guess it, they were told not to like,
- 5:59Speaker 5: you guys, go play, don't worry about the decisions that
- 6:02Speaker 5: we make. And that does not put a very peachy
- 6:07Speaker 5: keen like, hey, I want to go and play there
- 6:09Speaker 5: type of situation. Bregman's over in Chicago, going who dodge
- 6:15Speaker 5: the bullet on that one? We love our Dogabella, who's
- 6:20Speaker 5: really just account's cushion in our house.
- 6:22Speaker 1: And you do anything for her.

- 7:20Speaker 1: Can I bring up?
- 7:20Speaker 3: I mean, I just I'm just I'm amazed, like I
- 7:25Speaker 3: don't know again, I played with Breslo and I like Craig,
- 7:32Speaker 3: but how do you not again, I guess it doesn't
- 7:35Speaker 3: matter what the players say. I mean, when you see
- 7:37Speaker 3: Trevor Story and some of the other players saying some
- 7:39Speaker 3: of the things they said about as far as UH support,
- 7:45Speaker 3: I guess you would say for AC And then they
- 7:48Speaker 3: have a meeting and they're not allowed to ask questions
- 7:50Speaker 3: and the man and Breslo speaks, but John Henry and
- 7:54Speaker 3: Sam Kennedy don't speak in this meeting. Listen, I've been
- 7:59Speaker 3: a part I don't know crouches, but I was there
- 8:01Speaker 3: when Freddy Gonzalez got fired and uh Snicker.
- 8:04Speaker 4: Took over and it was awkward as hell.
- 8:06Speaker 3: And it happened, you know, in the morning after a game,
- 8:09Speaker 3: and you just and everyone's like, well, who's the new manager.
- 8:13Speaker 3: Everyone's like texting each other, who is it?
- 8:15Speaker 4: Who? We don't know?
- 8:16Speaker 1: Is it?
- 8:16Speaker 3: You know, we thought it was gonna be Terry Pendleton
- 8:17Speaker 3: or Readie Perez. We're like, who's the manager? Who's the manager?
- 8:19Speaker 3: And they're like, oh, it's Snit. And I didn't know
- 8:21Speaker 3: Snitt really at all. And by the way, Sticker grats
- 8:24Speaker 3: on the Brace Hall of Fame. Sorry a little off topic,
- 8:27Speaker 3: but it's just as that first day is like awkward
- 8:33Speaker 3: as hell. And I know they said, oh a lot
- 8:35Speaker 3: of these players knew the new managers.
- 8:37Speaker 4: But like you know, when you see quotes like this
- 8:40Speaker 4: from Trevor's story.
- 8:41Speaker 1: The story doesn't say anything.
- 8:42Speaker 4: He never talks. I don't know. This whole thing is
- 8:46Speaker 4: crazy to me. I don't know. I mean, listen, I
- 8:49Speaker 4: text Alex. I did text Alex.
- 8:55Speaker 3: After it happened, and he, you know, he responded with
- 8:58Speaker 3: I'm happy tweet.
- 8:59Speaker 4: I'm like, or texting, come on, dude, Like.
- 9:01Speaker 1: I think he is happy.
- 9:02Speaker 4: I think he is too, but it's just funny that
- 9:04Speaker 4: he texted everybody.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Like I saw Ozzie Gean last night. Yeah, and I
- 9:07Speaker 3: talked to Ozzy about it. He's like, he texted me,
- 9:09Speaker 3: he texted him, and he text me back, I'm happy.
- 9:11Speaker 4: I'm like, okay, I get that, you know, but I
- 9:14Speaker 4: don't know. I don't know. I just I don't know
- 9:17Speaker 4: how this makes sense.
- 9:18Speaker 3: And the thing to me and I'm gonna and what
- 9:20Speaker 3: we've seen this a lot from a lot of different
- 9:23Speaker 3: organizations now is the GM. So I want to hire
- 9:25Speaker 3: people that will not push back on anything of their
- 9:29Speaker 3: agenda that they want to have. Okay, And I'm not
- 9:32Speaker 3: saying that's what Chad Tracy's gonna be. But Chad Tracy
- 9:35Speaker 3: ain't going in there and fighting for a certain line
- 9:37Speaker 3: of He's like, I'm a big league manager.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Look at me go.
- 9:40Speaker 4: If we do good, I could keep this job for
- 9:41Speaker 4: a long time. That's to me.
- 9:45Speaker 3: There had to be pushed and they in these gms
- 9:46Speaker 3: want somebody that won't push back.
- 9:49Speaker 5: Or how about Andrew Bailey keeps his job. And I'm
- 9:52Speaker 5: not into like, hey, fire more people, but the fact
- 9:55Speaker 5: that if it was on field performance, Andrew Bayley's staff
- 10:00Speaker 5: is bottom third in the league and he has Crochet
- 10:04Speaker 5: making thirty million, Suarez making twenty seven, Sonny Gray making
- 10:08Speaker 5: thirty five, I think be Beyo's like at like fourteen
- 10:12Speaker 5: or fifteen million, Like if it was clearly okay field
- 10:17Speaker 5: performance and not oh who are you buddies with? Who's
- 10:21Speaker 5: your buddy? Oh your buddies with him? Take a walk?
- 10:25Speaker 5: Oh your buddies with me? You can stay Like to me,
- 10:30Speaker 5: there has to like there has to have been something
- 10:33Speaker 5: that happened and it came to a head, And what
- 10:36Speaker 5: the instant instance was I don't know, because because Core
- 10:41Speaker 5: has taken a lot of flak for not having a
- 10:43Speaker 5: conversation with Raffi Devers before they brought in Alex Bregman.
- 10:47Speaker 5: I think we'll find out more stuff, but the fact
- 10:50Speaker 5: that Raffi was upset, you know, like, was that Alex
- 10:56Speaker 5: Or was that the front office telling Alex you got
- 10:58Speaker 5: to you gotta take the blame. And I really think
- 11:02Speaker 5: that the lack of feel for what the clubhouse needs
- 11:09Speaker 5: was displayed in this decision. Based on Carrott, Whitlock's response,
- 11:15Speaker 5: Roman Anthony's response, Trevor Story's response, different other guys that
- 11:20Speaker 5: I conversated with, response like, it's a probably a case
- 11:27Speaker 5: of egos, and ultimately the boss makes the decision, and
- 11:31Speaker 5: if he's not there to answer questions or isn't it
- 11:34Speaker 5: willing to answer questions with the players on the field.
- 11:37Speaker 4: To me, I think this is.
- 11:38Speaker 5: Something that will drag out and will pull the entire
- 11:41Speaker 5: organization and the team down. But they won two games since,
- 11:46Speaker 5: so maybe it's working out.
- 11:47Speaker 4: Well.
- 11:48Speaker 1: No, they've won one game since.
- 11:50Speaker 5: I'm sorry, they won seventeen to one. The day that
- 11:53Speaker 5: he got fired.
- 11:53Speaker 2: Core was still there, which is also crazy. They had
- 11:56Speaker 2: already planned it. It was pre planned. You got John
- 11:58Speaker 2: Henry come in, every the whole Brass is coming to
- 12:01Speaker 2: do the axing, and it's just hilarious that they win
- 12:03Speaker 2: seventeen to one.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Crochet looked kind of back rebounded, and then they're like
- 12:08Speaker 1: see ya, hey go seeya.
- 12:11Speaker 2: And we don't like the offense. I mean, hey, the
- 12:13Speaker 2: offense has not been good and there's not enough power.
- 12:16Speaker 2: But that's a roster construction thing, just to give you
- 12:18Speaker 2: an idea. Ecuse, of course it's not.
- 12:20Speaker 4: That's not the third base coach's fault.
- 12:22Speaker 2: No, I mean, this team was not constructed properly. Craig
- 12:26Speaker 2: Breslow is running the front office, and according to the
- 12:29Speaker 2: Red Sox, it was his decision if he's going to
- 12:32Speaker 2: go down, because you know he'll be next if the
- 12:33Speaker 2: Red Sox don't make the playoffs, then he's going to
- 12:35Speaker 2: go down with his guys. This is why so many
- 12:39Speaker 2: executives say no to even interviewing for that job, because
- 12:44Speaker 2: Craig Breslow might take this job and then never be
- 12:46Speaker 2: leading a front office again. It could make you look
- 12:48Speaker 2: bad and you usually don't get a lot of time
- 12:51Speaker 2: to do this. You come in, it's kind of a mess,
- 12:53Speaker 2: and then of course you get tons of rumors and
- 12:56Speaker 2: as Ken rosendaland fair Territory said scapegoats, like they lead
- 12:59Speaker 2: the league in scapegoats and those.
- 13:01Speaker 1: Kinds of things.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Just to give you an idea of what some of
- 13:03Speaker 2: the quotes were from players that were alluding to. Trevor
- 13:06Speaker 2: Story said, if this shows us anything, it's we're going
- 13:08Speaker 2: to play baseball and that's it. We don't make decisions,
- 13:10Speaker 2: We don't have any input on that. Garrett Whitlock said,
- 13:12Speaker 2: they made it very clear, we get paid to play baseball.
- 13:15Speaker 2: We need to just focus on playing baseball. So that's
- 13:16Speaker 2: where we're at. So it sounded like the meeting was
- 13:19Speaker 2: shut up, play better. We don't care what you have
- 13:21Speaker 2: to say, but we love you and you're the team.
- 13:24Speaker 2: It's about the players. Trevor Story also said Cora and
- 13:31Speaker 2: others were some of the best coaches in the world,
- 13:33Speaker 2: and he felt like they didn't get a fair shot.
- 13:35Speaker 2: I'm going to take you to a story from one
- 13:37Speaker 2: of the Red Sox writers. We're going to talk to
- 13:38Speaker 2: some others later about it that write about the Red Sox,
- 13:41Speaker 2: but Julian McWilliams writes the story for CBS, and he
- 13:45Speaker 2: essentially said that the front office felt as if the
- 13:48Speaker 2: development wasn't going well and they were butting heads on
- 13:51Speaker 2: decision making. For example, this is the one that drove
- 13:56Speaker 2: me nuts. David Hamilton was part of the trade with
- 13:59Speaker 2: the Brewers, right, and the front office really liked him
- 14:03Speaker 2: and some of his metrics. The coaching staff felt like
- 14:06Speaker 2: his baseball eye awareness, IQ feel for the game wasn't
- 14:10Speaker 2: there to get regular pt and be a big impact
- 14:13Speaker 2: player at that moment. So they're like, Okay, it's not working,
- 14:16Speaker 2: we're gonna trade him. And I guess he had a
- 14:17Speaker 2: good series against the Red Sox and they're like, how
- 14:21Speaker 2: come players go elsewhere and they play better? And if
- 14:25Speaker 2: this is in the story and CBS right and Julian McWilliams,
- 14:28Speaker 2: I know him for years. He's very good reporter. He's
- 14:30Speaker 2: probably taking this from someone inside the organization. I'm like,
- 14:33Speaker 2: hold up, Steve Hamilton playing well this year. He's got
- 14:36Speaker 2: a seventy five OPS plus a six h five ops
- 14:39Speaker 2: and eighty played appearances playing part time for the Brewers.
- 14:42Speaker 2: You're blaming the Red Sox on not making him a star.
- 14:44Speaker 2: He's not a start supposed.
- 14:47Speaker 4: To be a star.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Hold up involved in that trade.
- 14:50Speaker 4: He made the trade.
- 14:50Speaker 1: Caleb durban Wait who else is in that trade?
- 14:53Speaker 4: Kyle Harrison the pitcher's well.
- 14:56Speaker 2: How's the pitching, how's the pitching brands doing? And feeling
- 14:59Speaker 2: about Kyle Harrison looking like a freaking stud right now?
- 15:04Speaker 2: I would I would send that right back, and that
- 15:06Speaker 2: that might have been what happened. Corean Company might have
- 15:09Speaker 2: been like, you're we were right on that one, just
- 15:11Speaker 2: like Also, Trevor Story had a nice bounce back year.
- 15:14Speaker 2: Front office hated him. That's probably why Story is talking
- 15:16Speaker 2: about this. There was a lot of dissension. He shouldn't
- 15:18Speaker 2: be playing every day, blah blah blah. Twenty five homers,
- 15:20Speaker 2: ninety six RBIs this year not playing great. Neither is
- 15:23Speaker 2: anyone on their offense.
- 15:25Speaker 4: So it's twenty five games. Some of the.
- 15:27Speaker 2: Debates though that we're going down according to the story,
- 15:30Speaker 2: and I believe this story. But that's why I'm like, wait,
- 15:31Speaker 2: hold up, you want to you want to do a
- 15:33Speaker 2: little tit for tat on development, I'd be like, cool, Hamilton's.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Not doing much yet.
- 15:38Speaker 2: How's Rob Refsnyder doing halfway out the league now making
- 15:41Speaker 2: seven million bucks to be one of the best platoon players.
- 15:43Speaker 1: We developed him, Durant, We developed him. They've done plenty.
- 15:46Speaker 1: I just don't even understand.
- 15:47Speaker 3: No, that shouldn't happen at the big league level, and
- 15:49Speaker 3: I mean it does with the ref Snyder.
- 15:51Speaker 1: It does because he was a big league player. Ye,
- 15:54Speaker 1: but there's you're saying minor leaguers though when.
- 15:56Speaker 3: They get there, they should mostly be developed. But the pitching,
- 15:59Speaker 3: You're right, David Hamilton was never going to be a star.
- 16:01Speaker 4: He was. He could barely get on.
- 16:03Speaker 3: The field there for a while for the Red Sox,
- 16:05Speaker 3: so they're worried about getting rid of him.
- 16:07Speaker 1: Yeah, there that was the report.
- 16:10Speaker 3: How about Craig Breslo traded him and Harrison for Caleb Durwan.
- 16:15Speaker 3: How about that one?
- 16:17Speaker 1: Well that's not cherry pickage.
- 16:19Speaker 4: Ah, Okay, then find kidding.
- 16:21Speaker 1: I mean, what are we doing?
- 16:22Speaker 4: I mean the Crochet traded worked out last year.
- 16:25Speaker 2: For him, worked out great. And that's probably one that there.
- 16:29Speaker 2: We brought Croche over and out.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Well.
- 16:33Speaker 4: The Brewers like it, the Devs trade, the Brewers like it.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Yeah, Like Kyle Harrison is also playing like crap it again.
- 16:44Speaker 2: I think he'll he'll figure it out. I just don't
- 16:49Speaker 2: get some of the dissension there, but that was there.
- 16:52Speaker 2: That's just giving you a taste of what was happening,
- 16:55Speaker 2: and you're not going to get much information. At some point,
- 16:58Speaker 2: hopefully Cora talks and then you a more info on
- 17:01Speaker 2: what was happening. But the real key here, guys, is
- 17:04Speaker 2: that this team just doesn't hold on to managers in
- 17:07Speaker 2: front office types. It's just part of their mo So
- 17:09Speaker 2: I will say to finish this off. When I saw
- 17:12Speaker 2: the news on Saturday, I was like, yeah, that makes sense.
- 17:16Speaker 4: It doesn't make They turned into something pretty good. He's good, Roman,
- 17:20Speaker 4: Anthony's pretty good.
- 17:22Speaker 1: He was in tears this weekend. That guided the coaching staff.
- 17:25Speaker 3: I'm sure he was because he was the guy that
- 17:28Speaker 3: they were, the guys that had confidence in him and
- 17:29Speaker 3: stuck him out there to win a gold Glove and
- 17:32Speaker 3: become a star for Venezuela. I mean, Jared Duran, he's
- 17:35Speaker 3: been up and down, but I mean he did something.
- 17:37Speaker 3: I mean, I'm just looking at the list here.
- 17:39Speaker 2: He was another guy in tears this weekend. I mean,
- 17:45Speaker 2: the players are distraught, so we'll see what happens.
- 17:47Speaker 3: Oh man, I'm just I don't know, I don't know
- 17:49Speaker 3: what I don't I don't know, I don't get it.
- 17:51Speaker 5: I have more questions that ask oh, No, I was
- 17:54Speaker 5: just gonna say. Somebody who knows the Red Sox organization
- 17:57Speaker 5: pretty well said the drive line if it's happening in Boston,
- 18:03Speaker 5: like it's just a continue It was a great line,
- 18:06Speaker 5: I mean a great word drive linification. And they're just
- 18:10Speaker 5: continuing to do it. They're just they're cutting out, they're
- 18:13Speaker 5: trimming out what it is that baseball guys need to
- 18:17Speaker 5: do to connect with the players on the field.
- 18:21Speaker 2: The Angels designated Jordan Romano for assignment. Also Logan o'happi
- 18:26Speaker 2: hits the shelf fractured wrist for him. So tough little
- 18:30Speaker 2: twenty four hours Kratz as they suffered a comeback loss
- 18:37Speaker 2: against the Royals. They had a rough weekend and our
- 18:40Speaker 2: Halo Territory show was pretty critical of the way that
- 18:43Speaker 2: the front office has thought about bullpen construction over the years.
- 18:47Speaker 2: They have pretty consistently not been able to put a
- 18:49Speaker 2: great bullpen together. If you look at the past whatever
- 18:52Speaker 2: six seven years of this current you know, Perimanation and
- 18:55Speaker 2: Company group in there. So your thoughts on where the
- 18:58Speaker 2: Angels are at. Do you feel like, after a nice
- 19:00Speaker 2: start and try out looking like an MVP, things are
- 19:02Speaker 2: looking shaky.
- 19:04Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, you never want to lose one of
- 19:06Speaker 5: your I get it. He's not the only catcher with
- 19:09Speaker 5: Darneault there too, But to me, Logan's the starting catcher.
- 19:12Speaker 5: But as far as the roster or bullpen construction, let's
- 19:16Speaker 5: say they had hit the bullpen construction like nailed.
- 19:20Speaker 4: It on the head.
- 19:21Speaker 5: They don't bring in guys and start in the starting
- 19:24Speaker 5: pitching role that are gonna support that bullpen. They don't
- 19:27Speaker 5: bring in guys that are gonna say, okay, we have
- 19:30Speaker 5: you know, we have somebody that's gonna be able to
- 19:31Speaker 5: eat innings. Jose Soriano is looking like he could be
- 19:36Speaker 5: a cy Young winner this year, like he is dealing.
- 19:39Speaker 5: I get that. But part of constructing a good bullpen is, yes,
- 19:45Speaker 5: you have to try to hit on some of the
- 19:47Speaker 5: Jordan Romanos in the sense that he had a bad
- 19:50Speaker 5: year last year and they're like, okay, you know, we'll
- 19:52Speaker 5: try it out, but you can't have a whole bullpen.
- 19:56Speaker 5: We'll try it out, guys.
- 19:59Speaker 2: Hey, we mentioned this earlier. Kyle Harrison is pitching really
- 20:02Speaker 2: well for Milwaukee. Finest game of his young career for
- 20:06Speaker 2: the Brewers. Bob Night got with this tweet six innings,
- 20:08Speaker 2: one hit, twelve punchouts in a five to nothing win
- 20:12Speaker 2: on Sunday for the Brewers to avoid a sweep. The
- 20:14Speaker 2: Pirates played him well in the first couple, but Harrison
- 20:16Speaker 2: in five starts as a two to two eight era
- 20:20Speaker 2: Milwaukee had a great game pitching staff wise. Eighteen punchouts
- 20:24Speaker 2: just allowed two hits from a Pittsburgh team that was
- 20:27Speaker 2: feisty against them earlier in this series.
- 20:30Speaker 1: Kyle Irrison looks really good.
- 20:31Speaker 2: I mean, he was one of the upper echelon pitching
- 20:34Speaker 2: prospects in the sport, and many people in fantasy Baseball
- 20:39Speaker 2: picked him up before the season started, thinking if this
- 20:42Speaker 2: guy's ever going to catch fire, it might be with Milwaukee.
- 20:44Speaker 2: They've done this really often lately with starters.
- 20:48Speaker 4: It just adds to the point about development.
- 20:52Speaker 1: They're doing it better than his teams.
- 20:54Speaker 4: Right.
- 20:55Speaker 3: If I'm a team, wouldn't you want to hire wouldn't
- 20:58Speaker 3: Hooky be high on your list as a pitching guy from.
- 21:01Speaker 1: Whatever they're doing, Bruce pitching coach Chris hook.
- 21:04Speaker 3: Yeah, beyond teams, I don't know. I mean, they do
- 21:07Speaker 3: something better than whether it's him, whether it's the system,
- 21:11Speaker 3: whether it's Matt Arnold, whether it's Pat Murphy, whether it's
- 21:16Speaker 3: their bullp I don't know who they're bullpen coaches. Maybe
- 21:18Speaker 3: it's their bullpen catcher. I don't know who it is.
- 21:20Speaker 5: Or it's all of them, or it's all about together
- 21:23Speaker 5: because all of them say, hey, you know what, what
- 21:26Speaker 5: is it that makes you really good?
- 21:28Speaker 4: Let's delve into that.
- 21:30Speaker 2: Let's talk about the Phillies for a hot second. Do
- 21:33Speaker 2: we think that Copper, Rob Thompson or I mean, we
- 21:36Speaker 2: can talk about the Mets too, for these two minutes,
- 21:38Speaker 2: Carlos Mendoza are going to make it through the week,
- 21:41Speaker 2: either of them. Do we think Alex Cora might replace
- 21:44Speaker 2: one of them? Things are getting wild really early in
- 21:46Speaker 2: the season.
- 21:48Speaker 4: I'm confused by the Phillies Crotchy. I just don't.
- 21:52Speaker 3: I didn't see this coming. I didn't see this coming
- 21:55Speaker 3: at all. And again it's not Topper's fault, I mean
- 21:57Speaker 3: not Topers. Change hasn't changed for what he did the
- 22:00Speaker 3: last few years, and he took them.
- 22:02Speaker 4: Deep been the playoffs. In the playoffs, I don't know.
- 22:05Speaker 5: The Philly one is the one that to me is
- 22:07Speaker 5: like whoa And the last the last time this happened,
- 22:11Speaker 5: Topper took over for Joe Girardi. I thought Joe Girardi
- 22:14Speaker 5: was a really good manager. The team turned it around.
- 22:18Speaker 5: My feeling is Kevin Long has always kind of been
- 22:23Speaker 5: his own entity, his own like, well, he does it
- 22:27Speaker 5: this way. The organization, even baseball in general, does it
- 22:31Speaker 5: a certain way, and he always does it his way.
- 22:34Speaker 5: For some reason, I'm leaning towards I think k Long
- 22:37Speaker 5: possibly gets fired, whether it's his fault or not. Like,
- 22:40Speaker 5: these are some big league dudes. You got to get
- 22:43Speaker 5: the most out of them. And in Philly, what you're
- 22:44Speaker 5: hearing is well, Ever since the Diamondbacks changed their philosophy,
- 22:48Speaker 5: he wasn't able to get the hitters to change their.
- 22:51Speaker 2: Like Pump the Brakes, buying glasses for a long period
- 22:55Speaker 2: of time was not ideal styles that looked like they
- 22:59Speaker 2: were from the stone, overpriced, confusing.
- 23:03Speaker 1: Enter the solution Warby Parker.
- 23:05Speaker 2: And it's not just the prescription glasses that I'm wearing
- 23:08Speaker 2: that I love, krats.
- 23:09Speaker 1: What else can you get to.
- 23:11Speaker 4: One stop shop?
- 23:12Speaker 5: Sunglasses, contacts, prescription glasses, everything you need in one spot.
- 23:17Speaker 4: Why would you go anywhere else?
- 23:18Speaker 2: Even I exams. Maybe the best part of Warby Parker.
- 23:21Speaker 2: For every pair they sell, they also give a pair
- 23:23Speaker 2: to someone in need. They have distributed over twenty million
- 23:26Speaker 2: pairs of glasses to people in need through It's by
- 23:28Speaker 2: a Pair, Give a Pair program. Their prescription glasses start
- 23:31Speaker 2: at ninety five dollars, so you can actually get quality
- 23:34Speaker 2: and stylish frames at an affordable price. It's the perfect
- 23:38Speaker 2: time to upgrade your glasses for spring. Buy one prescription
- 23:41Speaker 2: pair and get twenty percent off any additional prescription pairs
- 23:45Speaker 2: at Warbyparker dot com slash foul. That's twenty percent off
- 23:48Speaker 2: additional prescription pairs when you go to wa rby Parker
- 23:53Speaker 2: dot com slash foul in the weeds, Hey, this one
- 24:03Speaker 2: has been a fascinating storyline. Do we think that Roki
- 24:06Speaker 2: Sasaki maybe found something over the week? And I know
- 24:09Speaker 2: he still gave up a few homers and the fastball
- 24:13Speaker 2: command is not the sharpest, but the splitter looked really
- 24:17Speaker 2: damn good. You had what five miles an hour of
- 24:19Speaker 2: splitter velocity. He had the idea to change the grip,
- 24:21Speaker 2: the Dodgers helped him, and then boom, there's your difference
- 24:26Speaker 2: from April fifth to yesterday.
- 24:28Speaker 1: I'll let you guys explain. Why are you giving me
- 24:30Speaker 1: a look?
- 24:31Speaker 3: You just switched the seams. It looks like, I mean,
- 24:35Speaker 3: I don't understand what's different there. I mean, yeah, you
- 24:38Speaker 3: switch the seams. Maybe, well they.
- 24:41Speaker 4: Call that orientation.
- 24:43Speaker 5: Basically, it's he's saying he's throwing it from the the
- 24:48Speaker 5: parallel lines, and then he's and then he was throwing
- 24:51Speaker 5: it with a horseshoe, which to me, like, it's not
- 24:56Speaker 5: just about velocity, it's not just about it's the it's
- 25:00Speaker 5: about results. Like plenty of people tinker with things. To me,
- 25:06Speaker 5: this is a prime case of oh, see he changed something.
- 25:10Speaker 5: Oh everybody's enamored.
- 25:11Speaker 4: With this guy.
- 25:12Speaker 5: Let's just he's still what was his stat line? I
- 25:15Speaker 5: just pulled it up. Still gave up seven hits. He
- 25:19Speaker 5: had one walk, that's good, you know, gave up three dingers,
- 25:23Speaker 5: Like the name of the game is not giving up runs.
- 25:28Speaker 4: I'm not sure.
- 25:30Speaker 5: I'm not sure what why we made such a big
- 25:32Speaker 5: deal out of him changing his splitter. He still didn't
- 25:35Speaker 5: have a grade outing in my opinion, they.
- 25:39Speaker 2: Like to say, oh we saw progress, right, one walk
- 25:42Speaker 2: and a more effective splitter by pitch grading, it's.
- 25:48Speaker 1: Just how the game is evaluated these days.
- 25:52Speaker 5: What pitch grading? Hey, ja, what did you tell a
- 25:56Speaker 5: pitcher when he was like, hey, was that a good pitch?
- 25:59Speaker 5: After he just gave up a no, no.
- 26:03Speaker 4: And you got a guy out, and you got a
- 26:05Speaker 4: guy out, he still gave listen.
- 26:07Speaker 3: He went five innings, seven hits, three homers. It's not
- 26:11Speaker 3: like he went out and went nine shutty. I mean
- 26:14Speaker 3: Sean Berg again yesterday went seven and a third, three hits,
- 26:17Speaker 3: no runs. That's a good that's good pitch. What'd you
- 26:20Speaker 3: call it?
- 26:21Speaker 4: Grade? Pitch grading? Yeah?
- 26:22Speaker 3: You know what's not good pitch grading? Five innings? How
- 26:25Speaker 3: many pitches you throw? One hundred pitches? One hundred pitches
- 26:28Speaker 3: and five innings. You know what that's not that's bad
- 26:30Speaker 3: pitch grading because it's too many pitches, it's too many homers.
- 26:35Speaker 3: He still has a six and a half vra well
- 26:37Speaker 3: six three five, sorry, rounding up.
- 26:41Speaker 5: Ninety nine pitches and a strike eight one, Like come on,
- 26:44Speaker 5: like you could change all you want. What is the
- 26:49Speaker 5: what is the base What is the base level? For
- 26:51Speaker 5: big league pitchers? The base level is you gotta throw
- 26:54Speaker 5: strikes and you gotta get through. For starters, you got
- 26:57Speaker 5: to get through innings. And I think Rokie is in
- 27:00Speaker 5: the perfect spot where he is in a Dodgers organization
- 27:03Speaker 5: where they have a lot of pitching, and he's able
- 27:06Speaker 5: to figure this out. In the big leagues, he's gonna
- 27:09Speaker 5: have to figure it out at some point. He's gonna
- 27:11Speaker 5: have to figure it out. And pitch orientation, pitch grading
- 27:14Speaker 5: based on the edgatronic camera and track man and hawke
- 27:18Speaker 5: guy and all that stuff. The hitters will let you
- 27:22Speaker 5: know if the pitch is really good. The hitters will
- 27:24Speaker 5: let you know. You throw it harder. That doesn't necessarily
- 27:27Speaker 5: mean it's a better pitch, Like if it gets more outs,
- 27:31Speaker 5: that is the better pitch. Like if the gyro slider
- 27:34Speaker 5: doesn't work for somebody, you can't just keep throwing it
- 27:37Speaker 5: even though even though oh, well you know this says
- 27:40Speaker 5: pitch profile says it's gonna be good. Well, you know what,
- 27:43Speaker 5: your next says, it's not because you keep going like this.
- 27:45Speaker 4: Wock. Oh man?
- 27:47Speaker 1: What?
- 27:48Speaker 4: Oh man? You know what?
- 27:49Speaker 5: Like three home runs is a lot of hard hit baseballs.
- 27:52Speaker 5: And I think maybe maybe he can grow from this pitch.
- 27:56Speaker 5: Has he developed that third pitch that they want him
- 27:58Speaker 5: to develop in spring training and that most pitchers get
- 28:01Speaker 5: to get send down the triple A to figure out
- 28:03Speaker 5: has he developed it?
- 28:04Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 28:05Speaker 5: Results haven't shown it yet, but he has a longer
- 28:08Speaker 5: leash than a lot of guys do.
- 28:10Speaker 2: Yes, he has that luxury for sure. And the team
- 28:13Speaker 2: won the game, right. I mean, you've got one of
- 28:15Speaker 2: the best offenses in baseball and you can afford to
- 28:17Speaker 2: have these types of outings and not have it kill you.
- 28:20Speaker 3: Until he learns how to throw his fastball for a strike,
- 28:25Speaker 3: he can change his grip on a split all he wants,
- 28:27Speaker 3: because guys will still foul it.
- 28:29Speaker 4: All. Yeah, so get some strikeouts.
- 28:32Speaker 3: But until he learns cracks to throw the fastball for
- 28:34Speaker 3: a strike consistently, because guys just won't swing at the split.
- 28:38Speaker 3: I mean they'll try not to, and they will every
- 28:40Speaker 3: once in a while. Guys will, but they're just going
- 28:42Speaker 3: to go up there and say, Okay, Well, at some
- 28:43Speaker 3: point he's going to get into a fastball count. I
- 28:45Speaker 3: know if I get too, Oh, he's not throwing me
- 28:46Speaker 3: a split. He didn't really have a great slider. That's
- 28:49Speaker 3: why they want him to develop a third pitch. He's
- 28:51Speaker 3: kind of in a weird spot. I don't care. Oh,
- 28:52Speaker 3: he threw it two miles an hour harder and had
- 28:54Speaker 3: three more rotations or whatever it had on it. I mean,
- 28:57Speaker 3: cool and all, But you know what that also means.
- 29:00Speaker 3: It probably has less movement, and therefore it's straising the
- 29:03Speaker 3: zone more, and therefore guys.
- 29:05Speaker 4: Can hit it better.
- 29:06Speaker 1: Yeah, his fastball is getting destroyed this year.
- 29:08Speaker 4: Because it's the only pitch he has that you can
- 29:10Speaker 4: throw for a strike. Yeah, on a somewhat consistent.
- 29:12Speaker 2: Level, seven sixty seven against his four seamer slugging percentage.
- 29:19Speaker 5: Even me is a bad hitter. If you tell me
- 29:21Speaker 5: a guy can't throw his splitter for a strike because
- 29:25Speaker 5: he's not sure where it's gonna go. I can pick
- 29:28Speaker 5: that up out of the hand and just automatically not swing.
- 29:31Speaker 5: Can't he throw it for a strike?
- 29:32Speaker 4: Sometimes? And what I get burned? Absolutely?
- 29:34Speaker 5: But if you're only sitting on one pitch, that's why
- 29:37Speaker 5: seven what did you say, seven to seventy six.
- 29:40Speaker 2: Was sec sixty seven slugging against his four seamer this
- 29:43Speaker 2: year three ninety five batting average.
- 29:46Speaker 4: And and so.
- 29:48Speaker 5: That's partially command, but it's mostly the fact that you
- 29:51Speaker 5: don't have anything else and guys are just sitting on it.
- 29:56Speaker 2: Hey, Andrew Freeman bit back at the story. That just
- 29:59Speaker 2: won't end the Otani rule. He said on AM five
- 30:03Speaker 2: seventy in LA that MLB reached out to teams before
- 30:06Speaker 2: implementing the Otani rule when Atani was playing with the Angels.
- 30:10Speaker 1: Clearly, I guess they were okay with it.
- 30:13Speaker 2: Freeman said on this interview, it felt very random and
- 30:15Speaker 2: strange that Craig Council felt the need to bring up
- 30:18Speaker 2: the Otani rule. Council doubled down over the weekend when
- 30:23Speaker 2: they first went to him on Friday. Did you guys
- 30:24Speaker 2: see that he was pretty strong about it. I never
- 30:27Speaker 2: see him talk like that.
- 30:28Speaker 1: Craig Counsel and Trevor's story were not on my Bengo
- 30:31Speaker 1: card for Quotes of the Week.
- 30:35Speaker 5: I mean, okay, major League Baseball went to teams like
- 30:39Speaker 5: they really, like they really you know how much Major
- 30:42Speaker 5: League Baseball goes to teams when they ask about rules
- 30:45Speaker 5: put They even put players on their rules committee. And
- 30:47Speaker 5: then they're like, I know the players disagreed with this,
- 30:50Speaker 5: but we're still.
- 30:51Speaker 4: Implementing a rule. So I don't know about that answer.
- 30:53Speaker 4: But Craig feels like he's right, So good for him
- 30:56Speaker 4: for doublee down.
- 30:58Speaker 3: By the way, the Brules committee crats, by the way,
- 31:03Speaker 3: has I think it's five executives and four players, so
- 31:07Speaker 3: that even if all the players vote against something, it
- 31:08Speaker 3: doesn't even matter.
- 31:09Speaker 4: Correct. So that's what's funny about them being on one
- 31:13Speaker 4: and one umpire.
- 31:14Speaker 3: Oh yeah yeah, So whatever however they do it, even
- 31:17Speaker 3: if all the players disagree, it doesn't matter.
- 31:18Speaker 4: They're gonna do it anyway. So that's hilarious.
- 31:21Speaker 3: Uh, Honestly, I didn't watch a lot of baseball this week,
- 31:24Speaker 3: and I was kind of busy, but I checked the highlights.
- 31:27Speaker 3: How did PCA was? What was his reac I didn't
- 31:30Speaker 3: see the reaction that he got.
- 31:34Speaker 5: I mean, I'm assuming was it bad or was it
- 31:36Speaker 5: kind of I mean, not many people are there in
- 31:39Speaker 5: the first at bat, so they didn't, you know, they didn't.
- 31:43Speaker 5: But the media, the h the twitter account, Dodger's Twitter
- 31:48Speaker 5: account when he struck out, you know, he flay out
- 31:50Speaker 5: at a pitch in the dird or whatever and basically
- 31:53Speaker 5: just regurgitated his quote and was like, oh, well this
- 31:55Speaker 5: should be like a picture or whatever, basically saying exactly
- 32:00Speaker 5: what he said.
- 32:01Speaker 4: So it was good, good drama.
- 32:03Speaker 2: Dodgers won two out of three, but Game one Cubs win.
- 32:06Speaker 2: That was their tenth in a row. They're feeling it.
- 32:08Speaker 2: There was video that Marquee posted of PCA walking back
- 32:12Speaker 2: into the dugout saying, I'm going to paraphrase something like
- 32:16Speaker 2: where are you? Where are they something like that when
- 32:18Speaker 2: the game ended, because he was saying, Oh, they're not here.
- 32:22Speaker 1: That's fun. That's heel Stone.
- 32:24Speaker 4: He's from there too.
- 32:25Speaker 1: Be the villain. I agree, embrace the villain.
- 32:29Speaker 2: Hey, the first team to twenty wins is the Atlanta Braves.
- 32:33Speaker 2: We talked about the Philly side for a moment, but
- 32:36Speaker 2: how about the Atlanta side. Chris Sale looks like a
- 32:39Speaker 2: cy young candidate. Almost everyone is hitting. The guys that
- 32:42Speaker 2: aren't hitting great are the ones that you are probably
- 32:45Speaker 2: least concerned about, right Like akunye Haires looks good, Olsen
- 32:50Speaker 2: looks great. They lost a ton of pictures, doesn't matter
- 32:56Speaker 2: right now, right, Strider's going to be back soon. He
- 32:59Speaker 2: might be back next I don't know if they announced
- 33:01Speaker 2: it yet, but he looked pretty good in his last
- 33:02Speaker 2: rehab outing.
- 33:05Speaker 1: Is this the best team in base No, but the
- 33:09Speaker 1: one thing that's number one in your power rankings?
- 33:11Speaker 4: No, the Dodgers, but because they have the most wins.
- 33:13Speaker 3: But I just got you know what, Maybe I'll put
- 33:16Speaker 3: the number one of my power most wins. If Chris
- 33:18Speaker 3: Sale does something about the beard.
- 33:20Speaker 1: I know the Braves of the but they're not your
- 33:22Speaker 1: number one.
- 33:22Speaker 4: No, what do you want him to do?
- 33:24Speaker 3: Color Chris Sill needs to trim that beard a little bit.
- 33:28Speaker 3: Why they could they can move up? Maybe there number two.
- 33:32Speaker 3: Maybe it gives them intimidation factor.
- 33:34Speaker 2: Oh so tough, Chris Braves fans have it good. They
- 33:37Speaker 2: miss the playoffs last year for the first time since twenty.
- 33:39Speaker 3: The Braves since the nineties have went in the playoffs
- 33:42Speaker 3: like was that thirty six years ago? They've been in
- 33:44Speaker 3: the playoffs like thirty four of the thirty six years
- 33:46Speaker 3: and it was only years they missed for the two
- 33:48Speaker 3: years I was there.
- 33:48Speaker 4: They're good.
- 33:49Speaker 2: No, fans want more titles, but they're good. And this
- 33:52Speaker 2: year eight series wins one time, no series losses as
- 33:55Speaker 2: they took down the Phillies in a weekend set.
- 33:59Speaker 4: Yeah, be good.
- 34:00Speaker 1: They're good.
- 34:01Speaker 5: Fans don't show up either. It's getting hot. Atlanta fans
- 34:04Speaker 5: won't be there. Phillies fans will stop showing up soon.
- 34:08Speaker 5: Mets fans they don't want to be there. The National
- 34:10Speaker 5: League East, the Marlins might have the most fans this year.
- 34:14Speaker 5: Look at that National League East. Everybody has a losing record.
- 34:19Speaker 1: Except for the Braves.
- 34:20Speaker 4: Except for the Braves.
- 34:23Speaker 2: Yeah, it's been a weird start in the NL East.
- 34:25Speaker 2: But Atlanta is thriving right now. Not weird, they really are.
- 34:30Speaker 4: They're pitching well too, which they aren't. The biggest surprise.
- 34:32Speaker 1: They're starting pitching e r with all the losses they took. No.
- 34:36Speaker 1: I mean last year it wasn't good because they lost
- 34:39Speaker 1: a ton of guys.
- 34:39Speaker 4: And this year, anybody.
- 34:43Speaker 2: This year three one two ra is third in baseball
- 34:46Speaker 2: from their starting staff.
- 34:47Speaker 1: That's really damn good.
- 34:48Speaker 5: What do the Braves for all those years that AJ
- 34:50Speaker 5: just said, thirty six years, except for when AJ screwed
- 34:53Speaker 5: it up, what do the Braves always do?
- 34:57Speaker 3: I mean they had they had small gloven maddocks for
- 34:59Speaker 3: a lot out of those ears.
- 35:02Speaker 2: Todd Father, it's getting a little warm out, and I means,
- 35:05Speaker 2: let's hit some concerts, let's hit some baseball games. And
- 35:08Speaker 2: where am I going to go to find those tickets?
- 35:10Speaker 2: And if you want to sing the answer, you can.
- 35:12Speaker 6: We're going to see gee, hey, hey, listen. Ultimately, at
- 35:15Speaker 6: the end of the day, it is getting warmer and
- 35:17Speaker 6: people want to leave the house and it's time to leave,
- 35:19Speaker 6: go see a ball game. I guess where you can
- 35:21Speaker 6: find the best tickets, best spots, best places to go.
- 35:25Speaker 6: Seat Geeks got it all, man. They got their red
- 35:27Speaker 6: and their green signs, letting you know which good in bed,

- 35:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 35:39Speaker 2: Each ticket's rated on a scale of one to ten,

- 35:57Speaker 2: to your account so you can use it later. Thank
- 35:59Speaker 2: you to Geek. MLB's official ticket marketplaces. A couple of
- 36:03Speaker 2: things on the American League East. I know we've been
- 36:06Speaker 2: talking a lot about the Red Sox and a little
- 36:08Speaker 2: bit about the Yankees. The Blue Jays just placed Max
- 36:10Speaker 2: Schuers around the injury list. Right fore arm tendonitis, left
- 36:14Speaker 2: ankle inflammation. The Blue Jays have a very very long
- 36:18Speaker 2: injury list this year. You know who doesn't have a
- 36:21Speaker 2: long injury list, The Rays. They swept the Twins. They
- 36:24Speaker 2: look pretty good right now. They're pretty healthy.
- 36:26Speaker 4: They're doing all right.
- 36:27Speaker 2: Shane mcclanahan's back. He pitched well again this weekend. They've
- 36:30Speaker 2: won eleven of fifteen games. They're sixteen and eleven.
- 36:35Speaker 4: Right. Junior Cavnaro hasn't swung and missed in like a month.
- 36:38Speaker 4: I feel like it's been locked. Like he's he's doing damage.
- 36:43Speaker 2: Yeah, he's the front office dream with the dam I
- 36:47Speaker 2: mean big loud contact and then not missing in the zone.
- 36:51Speaker 2: But yeah, they have the second best mark in the
- 36:53Speaker 2: American League. I know it's early, and for me, this
- 36:56Speaker 2: series says just as much about the Twins. I remember
- 36:58Speaker 2: two three weeks ago, like, oh, or the Twins gonna
- 37:01Speaker 2: be good man. They've lost nine of ten.
- 37:03Speaker 4: I mean, I don't think anybody really thought they.
- 37:04Speaker 2: Were gonna I didn't know. We were trying to be nice.
- 37:08Speaker 2: We had some players on.
- 37:09Speaker 5: It was fun what the race found another closer, Like
- 37:13Speaker 5: they just they just go ahead and throw Brian Baker
- 37:15Speaker 5: in there. I think he's like top three or four
- 37:18Speaker 5: in the league in saves, like just oh. The Orioles
- 37:22Speaker 5: were like, ah, whatever, Yeah, we'll get rid of the guy.
- 37:25Speaker 4: He's fine.
- 37:27Speaker 5: And remember that we like Pete Fairbanks, We're not gonna
- 37:31Speaker 5: pay you. Brian Baker right into the closer role.
- 37:34Speaker 4: But he was good.
- 37:35Speaker 3: He was good for the he was remember when remember
- 37:39Speaker 3: when the race trade of farm Everyone's like, what are
- 37:41Speaker 3: the Orioles doing? Because he was under control and we're
- 37:44Speaker 3: like the whole what are the Oils doing?
- 37:46Speaker 2: Yeah, and I will say, I mean there were a
- 37:49Speaker 2: lot of comments that were like, guys, really, it's Brian Baker.
- 37:52Speaker 1: I'm like, okay, every piece in the name.
- 37:56Speaker 5: Yet every piece in the bullpen matters Brian Baker.
- 37:59Speaker 4: He was older. Absolutely, who cares every piece of a
- 38:02Speaker 4: bull bait? I think the raids are pain.
- 38:03Speaker 5: I'm like one and a half million, maybe not even
- 38:05Speaker 5: one and a half million right now.
- 38:07Speaker 4: Every team needs bullpen pieces.
- 38:11Speaker 2: Ano they're moved from the other day with Toronto, Jeff
- 38:14Speaker 2: Hoffman out of the closer role for now, going with
- 38:16Speaker 2: the committee in Toronto. Even though they've been hit with
- 38:20Speaker 2: all these injuries, I'm still not worried about them, like
- 38:22Speaker 2: the the offense looks like it's going to be really
- 38:26Speaker 2: freaking good. Okamoto is very back. You know, he made
- 38:29Speaker 2: an adjustment. He's further back. You know, he went like
- 38:33Speaker 2: I think they said six inches back and it changed things.
- 38:36Speaker 2: He's doing what did he do in the dugout too?
- 38:38Speaker 2: Did you see that he's doing gratitude.
- 38:40Speaker 4: Ceremonies, gratitude.
- 38:41Speaker 3: That was a bomb he hit, Yeah, two, no, but
- 38:45Speaker 3: that one he hit on the he got finally got
- 38:47Speaker 3: to one of them, heaters up and he walked the
- 38:49Speaker 3: crap out of the ball.
- 38:50Speaker 1: He's going to be good. I like him.
- 38:53Speaker 4: It's a lot of injuries, a lot of injuries.
- 38:56Speaker 5: They got to find some innings from guys, and it
- 39:00Speaker 5: gets it gets worse and worse every day. I know
- 39:02Speaker 5: Max wasn't going seven innings for him, but you got
- 39:05Speaker 5: to find somebody that's going to give you what Max
- 39:08Speaker 5: could have given you. You assumed he was going to
- 39:10Speaker 5: get better, but it's it's a lot, and that kind
- 39:14Speaker 5: of stuff catches up to you in July.
- 39:18Speaker 2: They've got dogs though. I mean, this is why you
- 39:20Speaker 2: pay big money for Dylan Cees. It's not just oh
- 39:22Speaker 2: I think I can make him better. He freaking pitches.
- 39:25Speaker 2: He always pitches, and you need innings from him.
- 39:29Speaker 1: Not a lot of Savage in Brios, I know.
- 39:31Speaker 2: But Savage and Burrios should give them innings that, you know,
- 39:34Speaker 2: the rest of the year here, Hopefully they stay healthy.
- 39:36Speaker 2: Bieber's going to come back at some point. Gossman gives
- 39:40Speaker 2: you innings. Corbin looks good right now. I'm not that
- 39:43Speaker 2: worried about them. I'm not, and I think the offense
- 39:45Speaker 2: is going to bang. So they're twelve and fifteen. It's
- 39:48Speaker 2: not great. They're not that much better game and a
- 39:50Speaker 2: hat better than the Red Sox and just acts their
- 39:53Speaker 2: coaching staff.
- 39:53Speaker 1: But I'm not concerned. I mean the Red Sox should
- 39:57Speaker 1: be concerned, because I think.
- 39:57Speaker 2: The Blue Jays will play well. Right Razor playing better
- 40:00Speaker 2: than most people. Anticipated Yankees look like a force. I
- 40:04Speaker 2: think the Orioles will be a little better than they
- 40:06Speaker 2: look right now. Pete's gonna hit eventually, right m you
- 40:10Speaker 2: got cold again. But they're thirteen and fifteen. You hover
- 40:12Speaker 2: around there. One winning streak and then we're all gushing
- 40:16Speaker 2: over the team.
- 40:18Speaker 4: Worn off. I haven't seen him from a while.
- 40:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I get one hug a week and then I'm
- 40:26Speaker 2: back betmgam players. You can get yourself in any sport
- 40:29Speaker 2: any yeah, any sport parlay boost token. Use that parlay
- 40:33Speaker 2: boost token with a wager made up of any sport
- 40:37Speaker 2: like basketball playoffs, hockey playoffs, and mix in some baseball.
- 40:41Speaker 2: Activate that token. If you win with the wager placed
- 40:44Speaker 2: with that token, you get extra winnings. Gambling problem more
- 40:47Speaker 2: concern called one eight hundred gambler. Hey, the Colorado Rockies
- 41:04Speaker 2: put up the purple Empire State Building picture to be like,
- 41:10Speaker 2: do you want to give us this Mets for sweeping you?
- 41:14Speaker 2: They're really going for it. The Twins through the twelve
- 41:17Speaker 2: jokes at them the other day when they had their
- 41:19Speaker 2: twelve game losing skid. They were like, hey, I'mpire State
- 41:23Speaker 2: Building just an idea because Empy puts up different coloring
- 41:28Speaker 2: each night. We talked about plenty of teams todaying what
- 41:31Speaker 2: happened over the weekend. We barely talked about the Mets. Besides,
- 41:34Speaker 2: with Sack Scott, I mean, this is the second largest
- 41:37Speaker 2: payroll in the sport. We might have a manager change
- 41:39Speaker 2: this week. Their off season experiment right now looks like
- 41:43Speaker 2: a disaster. Then they run into Colorado for all the jokes.
- 41:48Speaker 2: The Rockies are thirteen and sixteen. Do you know that
- 41:51Speaker 2: last year they were thirteen and fifty five.
- 41:55Speaker 4: Yeah, they were chasing them White Sox for that one
- 41:57Speaker 4: to twenty.
- 41:57Speaker 1: On June twelfth.
- 42:01Speaker 2: I know, but that's how much whatever you want to say.
- 42:04Speaker 2: They are much better this not much better. They're better this.
- 42:07Speaker 4: Year, better this year.
- 42:08Speaker 3: But what the Remember we had what's his name on
- 42:13Speaker 3: from Mets up and he said this ten game stretch
- 42:15Speaker 3: would make or break the Mets season.
- 42:18Speaker 2: So that was Tim Britten from the Athletic came on
- 42:22Speaker 2: and said the ten game stretch. They're two and four
- 42:24Speaker 2: at home against these teams, and they got swept and.
- 42:29Speaker 4: Including as a double header, which is really hard to
- 42:30Speaker 4: do it.
- 42:32Speaker 1: Yesterday it was a disaster.
- 42:33Speaker 2: First of all, I was like, would they score one
- 42:35Speaker 2: run in two games? One one run against the Rocky stats? Now,
- 42:40Speaker 2: Chase Dolander looks really awesome. All year he looks awesome.
- 42:45Speaker 2: He's got a two two five. He had seven shutout inning,
- 42:47Speaker 2: seven strikeouts. Sega they removed early in that game. Yesterday
- 42:51Speaker 2: he was getting poured on it with booze U. Bantos
- 42:55Speaker 2: had a bad air in the first game. McLean was okay,
- 42:59Speaker 2: but Kintana eat them. I mean they're making every pitcher
- 43:01Speaker 2: look amazing.
- 43:03Speaker 1: They can't score.
- 43:03Speaker 2: I mean there's a number of issues, but they also
- 43:06Speaker 2: just can't score. You scored one run in two games
- 43:09Speaker 2: yesterday at home against Colorado, And yeah, I know it's
- 43:12Speaker 2: it's a little chili. I was there yesterday and then
- 43:14Speaker 2: I flew back this morning. It's a little chilly in
- 43:16Speaker 2: New York. Okay, it's not thirty degrees though.
- 43:19Speaker 4: Hold for everybody, stop with the weather. Stop with the weather.
- 43:23Speaker 1: So what the hell's going on? The whole team just
- 43:25Speaker 1: can't hit for a month. Everybody can't hit.
- 43:29Speaker 4: Grimace ain't there, ain't there.
- 43:32Speaker 2: Grimas was there. They've been doing so that. They've had
- 43:34Speaker 2: the happy Grimace. They've had the Grimace. I think they
- 43:36Speaker 2: were like, but the.
- 43:37Speaker 4: Grimace that's not the same Grimace as a couple of
- 43:39Speaker 4: years ago.
- 43:39Speaker 2: Woh, Like you need to find the actual dude or
- 43:42Speaker 2: dudet that was playing Grimace and put them back in
- 43:44Speaker 2: the costume.
- 43:45Speaker 4: Oh, they need to bring back on ge. They need
- 43:47Speaker 4: to move back the pumpkin, all of it, Pumpkin.
- 43:50Speaker 1: Whatever, Jose Glicias, Pee Alonzo.
- 43:54Speaker 3: Two soon They're just they're just something something there ain't
- 43:58Speaker 3: right and I hate to say it, so it's gonna
- 44:00Speaker 3: be mendy and it's not. It's not's not the problem
- 44:03Speaker 3: hadn't changed.
- 44:04Speaker 1: And then guess what, it's still not going to be right.
- 44:06Speaker 5: Hey, good news though in five years they won't have
- 44:09Speaker 5: Nemo's contract to worry about.
- 44:11Speaker 1: That's good, it's so true. So obsessed with shedding Brandon
- 44:16Speaker 1: Nemo's contract. Look what you're doing so far this year?
- 44:19Speaker 1: And mc neil, Yeah, McNeil's doing good too.
- 44:23Speaker 5: And run prevention. They they have been successful in run prevention,
- 44:27Speaker 5: just on the wrong.
- 44:28Speaker 4: Side of the ball to themselves. That's what I mean.
- 44:32Speaker 4: They prevented themselves from scoring.
- 44:35Speaker 2: Brandon Nemo updates still amazing. One forty oh ps plus Kratz.
- 44:39Speaker 2: AT's what you got for us on the.
- 44:40Speaker 1: Way out.
- 44:43Speaker 4: Now podcast crowd. It's a big day for me.
- 44:46Speaker 5: The last time the Red Sox were in the in
- 44:49Speaker 5: the playoffs on a on a year when they shouldn't
- 44:52Speaker 5: have been twenty one when I worked there.
- 44:56Speaker 2: I think they've made the playoffs twice since they won
- 44:58Speaker 2: the title in twenty eighteen. I'll ride that for a while.
- 45:00Speaker 2: Monster Territory was all over it this weekend. You can
- 45:03Speaker 2: get this shirt too if you want it. We'll see
- 45:05Speaker 2: you on Tuesday.
- 45:07Speaker 4: I'll be wearing NASCAR hat with the Red Sox ownership
