Transcript
- 0:00Welcome to World View Matters, discussing controversial issues, discerning current events,
- 0:10defending biblical Christianity.
- 0:13No topic, off limits.
- 0:16And now, here's your host, David Firazzo.
- 0:19Hey friends, you're in for a treat today.
- 0:22I thank you so much for listening, watching, sharing the podcast.
- 0:26Real Martin Rishi is my guest today.
- 0:29And you might know her by being the daughter of Walter Martin, for those of us who love
- 0:34that man and his ministry and just the amazing ways he equipped the body of Christ, you
- 0:40can go to WalterMartin.com.
- 0:42We'll be talking about some of the information in this couple of new books that are on the
- 0:46website there when we bring Jill on.
- 0:48And also, we're going to be talking about the satanic temple and the growth of the increase
- 0:53of satanism, whether it be in state capitals around the country, the government runs schools
- 1:00in the curriculum, where are we seeing these, how about these after school satan clubs,
- 1:05you know, the good news clubs, they're trying to counter that, right?
- 1:08The satanists.
- 1:09And we're also we seeing them.
- 1:10So, so much to talk about what I want to welcome Jill Martin Rishi to World View Matters,
- 1:15so good to see you sister.
- 1:16Thanks for having me.
- 1:18Yeah, thanks for taking your time today.
- 1:20You know, you often do a lot of these shows with Jan, Jan Markelle, understanding the
- 1:24times.
- 1:25We'll talk about one of the episodes you did in June, when we did this, or you did the
- 1:29story on the Iowa State Capitol and the Michael Cassidy that beheaded the statue, thought
- 1:35that was great.
- 1:36So, before we get to that, Jill, sorry to hear about your mom's passing, but we know
- 1:43she's in glory at the end of July, just recently.
- 1:47And just you put that on your Facebook beautiful picture of your family.
- 1:51My mom died, her funeral was early July.
- 1:55We have a little connection there in both of our fathers died in the late 80s.
- 2:01So talk about your mom a little bit and what an amazing legacy, first of all, being married
- 2:06to your dad.
- 2:07And then just tell us, share a little bit more about your mom before we get into some of
- 2:11the topics.
- 2:12Well, Darlene Martin was a very kind and loving person.
- 2:17She really transformed our lives.
- 2:20She came into our lives later on.
- 2:22She's my stepmother.
- 2:23And she really brought just the sense of God's love and care for all of us, transformed
- 2:30my dad's life and just was very faithful to his legacy, wanted to make sure that everything
- 2:36was preserved and did everything she could to make that happen.
- 2:41So my father used to say about her personality that, you know, to hurt Darlene was like
- 2:45kicking a puppy.
- 2:47And that's how gentle and kind person that she was and very much a homemaker.
- 2:52So she brightened all of our lives and she unfortunately, she suffered for quite a
- 2:58while and some kidney issues in.
- 3:02So, you know, you're always sad and heartbroken to see someone go, but yet that release into
- 3:09the presence of Jesus is a really incredible thing too.
- 3:14So we wouldn't wish her back as much as we love her.
- 3:18You know, we wish her back because we know that that she's where she's always wanted
- 3:22to be.
- 3:23Amen.
- 3:24Amen.
- 3:25Absent from the body, present with the Lord.
- 3:28My mom had the gift of joy.
- 3:30She was probably a little bit more outgoing and talkative than your mom, but just the gift
- 3:36of joy she had.
- 3:37Our family, the tremendous loss.
- 3:40My mom went through losing a daughter, her husband, her brother, her parents, and it was
- 3:46just amazing that she kept the joy.
- 3:48The Lord just kept that focus on Jesus.
- 3:51You share.
- 3:52Pardon?
- 3:53I just think through a lot of grief, you know, that's when the love and the peace of Jesus
- 3:59shines through.
- 4:00Oh, my God.
- 4:01I don't know how people do it with no hope and no faith in God.
- 4:07Because this life is all there is.
- 4:09If you don't know the Lord, if you're not saved, if you don't have that eternal security,
- 4:14this life is all there is talk about grief and emptiness and the unknown, right?
- 4:19But you shared John 11, 25 on this picture on your Facebook when you, your family together
- 4:25there.
- 4:26I am the resurrection in the life whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live.
- 4:32And everyone who lives and believes in me, she'll never die.
- 4:36And that was in John 11.
- 4:38Yeah, a lot happened then when Jesus healed Lazarus and brought him out from the tomb.
- 4:44And he is the resurrection in the life.
- 4:47So Jill, let's talk about also ways that people can hear your dad.
- 4:53And that's over at WalterMartin.com on YouTube.
- 4:57There are some videos that you guys have been putting up on the YouTube channel.
- 5:00Right.
- 5:01Yeah.
- 5:02Share a little bit about that and that must have been a project to get all these together
- 5:07and then put them up on the YouTube channel.
- 5:10That's my husband, Kevin.
- 5:11Kevin does it.
- 5:12Okay.
- 5:13He's incredible when it comes to audio visual.
- 5:17He's a producer.
- 5:18He's the producer actually for understanding the times.
- 5:20Yeah.
- 5:21He helps us.
- 5:23And so he's done, he's responsible for saving the videos and putting them up there.
- 5:29And yeah, our YouTube channel is WalterMartin.com, DOT, com.
- 5:36And you can go there and see, I think we've got almost all of my dad's videos up there right now.
- 5:41Wow.
- 5:42Yeah.
- 5:43Full videos.
- 5:44Not just.
- 5:45There it is.
- 5:46Full videos.
- 5:47Yeah.
- 5:48Yeah.
- 5:49And these are his sermons.
- 5:50A lot of his sermons, right?
- 5:51Preserving.
- 5:52Yeah.
- 5:53Yeah.
- 5:54Right.
- 5:55Yeah.
- 5:56So that's great, friends.
- 5:57So you can go and hear him.
- 5:58I've quoted him in my books and here's a way you can actually go listen and wow, it's just
- 6:05powerful.
- 6:06And then of course, at WalterMartin.com under what's new.
- 6:08I just want to mention the books, two books, and then we'll get into more of the topics.
- 6:14Biblical answers to your toughest questions.
- 6:17Now that's brand new.
- 6:18You sort of speak co-authored that with your dad.
- 6:22I explained that, Jill.
- 6:24Well, he, I went and I took segments of his best lectures that I thought and I was
- 6:32saying, what questions, you know, what questions and answers can we do because he was a Bible
- 6:35answer man.
- 6:36So I wanted to highlight that.
- 6:39So then I also went to his Sunday school classes.
- 6:41He loved doing his Sunday school classes.
- 6:44And so we always began with a question and answer period.
- 6:47And so I took questions and answers from there.
- 6:49I tried to pick some funny ones and, you know, of course, a lot of serious ones, but also
- 6:54ones that deal with everyday living.
- 6:58And like he talks about, you know, struggles that he answers questions from people who are
- 7:02struggling with things, you know, like a roommate or, you know, in a marriage.
- 7:08And so it's one of my favorite books of his.
- 7:12So friends, you can get that Walter Martin dot com what's new and it's on Amazon as
- 7:17well.
- 7:18The other book I just wanted to briefly highlight, Jill, the Kingdom of the Colts Handbook.
- 7:23And you updated that.
- 7:24I think you put something in there on the satanic temple or tell us about that.
- 7:28Yeah.
- 7:29What the handbook is is for years and I'm talking like years and years.
- 7:34We were asked, can we have something maybe that's a condensed version of the Kingdom of
- 7:40the Colts?
- 7:41And that's what the Kingdom of the Colts Handbook is.
- 7:44It's a, you know, any of you out there who have the Kingdom of the Colts knows a pretty
- 7:47big, thick, heavy book.
- 7:52We wanted a book that somebody could just take to Bible study or do a Bible study with.
- 7:58And so we decided to put together the Kingdom of the Colts Handbook where we take sections
- 8:03of his chapters in the Kingdom of the Colts and condense them down and then added questions
- 8:10and answers in the book so that you can use it for a Bible study.
- 8:14Awesome.
- 8:15Awesome, friends.
- 8:16So there's a lot going on there at WalterMartin.com.
- 8:18So Jill, let's talk about a recent story.
- 8:23Actually, earlier this year, there was a man, Michael Cassidy, he's a U.S. Navy veteran.
- 8:30He was charged with a hate crime.
- 8:32And Jeff, you can bring up this story because I wrote about this back in February of this
- 8:36year, I believe, and all he did, what he did was anything, a lot of us would probably
- 8:42want to do.
- 8:43He dismantled a statue of Satan.
- 8:45I think he'd be headed to the statue at the Iowa State Capitol.
- 8:50Actually that happened around Christmas time last year when they put up a display.
- 8:54And so it's vandalizing or toppling of statues of America's founding fathers or other
- 9:00things isn't a crime, apparently.
- 9:02But when you talk about a satanic statue or a satanic display, yes, that's a crime.
- 9:08So there's kind of a double standard there, but tell us, you did a show on understanding
- 9:12the times, radio with Jan Markel, and with a lawyer that represented Michael Cassidy,
- 9:20and you do a little update, I haven't kept track on that, just share a little bit about
- 9:23that.
- 9:24We'll talk more about the satanic temple and their influence and go ahead and share
- 9:27the outcome.
- 9:28What happened?
- 9:29Yeah, Davis Yance is or was his Michael Cassidy's attorney, just a brilliant guy, and he was
- 9:37a former Navy Jag attorney, I think he was voted one year top Navy Jag attorney.
- 9:41So he's got some pretty strong credentials.
- 9:44Michael Cassidy has strong credentials too.
- 9:46He's a Navy pilot.
- 9:48So he's teaching the Navy reserves right now.
- 9:51So these are not guys that don't have any strength or professional background behind
- 9:57them.
- 9:58He's pretty smart, pretty tough guys.
- 10:00And so for Michael Cassidy to do what he did, it took a lot of thought and a lot of prayer.
- 10:06And I know, you know, if I were standing in front of that bathroom at Statue, I'll tell
- 10:11you, I would be tempted to do something because it is such an in your face thing that
- 10:20the satanic temple does.
- 10:22This is their whole way of operating, and has been from the beginning is to taunt and
- 10:27to mock and to grade and to ride Christians and Christianity.
- 10:33And so that's what they were doing.
- 10:35They deliberately went there because that's where the Christians were.
- 10:38They tend to follow us around, you know, like a little black shadow that the satanic
- 10:42temple follows Christians around.
- 10:45And that's why they want to do their after school, Satan clubs too because what are we
- 10:49doing?
- 10:50We're doing the good news clubs in the school.
- 10:52So they're like dark little shadow that follows us around, you know, trying to kick our
- 10:57feet out from underneath us.
- 10:59And I think anyone when you do research on how the satanic temple began, they were just
- 11:05basically propaganda and a movie type call to, you know, come on out and basically attack
- 11:15Governor Rick Scott.
- 11:16He was a former governor actually of Florida, but attack his agenda, his religious agenda.
- 11:22And so that's how the satanic temple began, and they didn't even know their own beliefs,
- 11:27David.
- 11:28If I went back to their website, you know, before they pulled it all off there, and I went
- 11:34to the way back machine, which is a really great thing that you can use for research.
- 11:37And I pulled all of their, their actual steps to building their website.
- 11:43And they literally crafted their doctrine, like first segment of the website, their first
- 11:51version of the doctrine, second, second part of the website, their next version of the
- 11:56doctrine.
- 11:57And by the time they got to the third or fourth, hey, they had their doctrine.
- 12:02It was totally different from the beginning.
- 12:04You see what you're dealing with here, just total mockery and not a lot of substance.
- 12:10And by the way, we do want to mention a charity evangelism fellowship, C E F and those
- 12:16good news clubs where they share the gospel after school hours with kids and that is legal
- 12:23to do that.
- 12:24So of course, the mockers, which is prophetic, Peter warned and others about mockers will
- 12:29come.
- 12:30And they are mocking and that's all they have, because they don't have much, like you
- 12:34said, they don't have much substance.
- 12:37And anyway, so Jill, back to the results of that.
- 12:40So what happened to that case where he was, I think, accused of a hate crime?
- 12:46Well, Davis Young is so amazing.
- 12:49He, as an attorney, went after the Iowa attorneys and basically pinned them down on every single
- 12:57legal precedent.
- 12:59That's how he won.
- 13:01He fought with them and they've tried to fight back, but eventually they realized that
- 13:06it was a losing situation.
- 13:08And so they backed down from their hate crime, turned it into a misdemeanor and in the end
- 13:12it's all going to be a splench from his record.
- 13:14Great.
- 13:15Well, that's good news.
- 13:16I mean, we like to celebrate the good positive outcomes when Christian, you know, their
- 13:23rights are protected.
- 13:24What's interesting to me, Jill, we've got to take a brief pause, a break, but I wonder
- 13:29if, if it was a Christian statuary display and someone did something to that, I wonder
- 13:36if it would be the same if they would be accused of a hate crime against Christ again.
- 13:40Because these, let's face it, these are attacks on Jesus, but they manifest, of course, in
- 13:45these different contexts and situations.
- 13:48So I'm glad that worked out for Michael Cassidy.
- 13:50We'll go right back with Jill Martin-Rishie, the website, Walter Martin.com, coming up
- 13:55more on World View Matters.
- 13:57Get free activation now with promo code, David.
- 14:28Friends, if you are no of anyone who would be interested in sponsoring World View Matters,
- 14:35where I was open to new sponsors, send us an email.

- 14:42If you missed that, you can go to our website, WorldView Matters.tv, we're thankful to
- 14:47Harbinger's Daily, we're thankful to hate Patriot Mobile, Freedom Project Academy,
- 14:53and because of you, we are now on Harpazo.com, Pioneer Network, BeckTV, Harbinger's TV, God's
- 15:01Learning Channel, and hopefully we'll have some big news within a couple of weeks.
- 15:04I keep saying that, but we're hoping and praying that we will continue to expand our reach
- 15:09thanks to your support and, of course, God's sovereignty.
- 15:12So Jill Martin-Rishie, are you surprised by the uptick?
- 15:18It seems like there's an uptick of, you can call it mocking, but they're trying to get
- 15:22some exposure for Satanism, the Satanic Temple, these after school clubs, Satan clubs.
- 15:29We're just seeing more and more of this.
- 15:31What have you noticed?
- 15:32Any trends in Are You Surprised by it?
- 15:35Well, we're in the last days, right?
- 15:38So I don't know if anything can really surprise the kinds of things that we've been seeing.
- 15:43I don't know.
- 15:44I'm horrified.
- 15:45I'm horrified.
- 15:47But, yeah, my father used to say that Satan's evil and Satan himself, it's not corporate,
- 15:53it's not a corporate, broad, detached evil.
- 15:56It's a very personal evil, and that's what we were seeing.
- 16:00And he would point to, you know, Buchenwald and to Belson and to these camps, the Nazi Holocaust
- 16:08camps.
- 16:09And he would say, this is personal evil.
- 16:13Satan attacks personally, just like he does in our own lives.
- 16:18And so I think what we are seeing is this huge rise in personal attacks, they come in all
- 16:26shapes and forms.
- 16:27And of course, Satan has dealt with us humans for a very long time.
- 16:32He is a professional attacker.
- 16:35He's seen generation after generation of humans go by.
- 16:39And he has a certain doctrine that he teaches, it's called the doctrine of the demons, and
- 16:45the Bible talks about it, warns us about it.
- 16:48And it teaches a different Jesus, a different gospel, and it attacks us as Christians.
- 16:55So and also, you know, my daddy's to point out, if you're not being attacked anywhere in
- 16:59your life, then there's a problem there because those who are fighting for God and working
- 17:06for God in their everyday lives, they are going to
- 17:09be attacked.
- 17:10And you might say, well, I don't really do anything special.
- 17:12I just go to church and I go to Bible study and I pray, well, that's, that's being a
- 17:17Christian warrior.
- 17:19When you are praying for others and caring for others and doing whatever it is you do
- 17:24in your life that God has called you to do, then he uses you and you will be attacked.
- 17:29So yeah, I see the rise in evil in a broad spectrum and the world around us in politics,
- 17:34obviously, stands out, you know, like a sore thumb.
- 17:38The Olympics, that was an absolute travesty and twisted approach, pagan approach, total
- 17:46paganism, complete paganism.
- 17:49But it shouldn't surprise us if we look at the Swiss tunnel that they did years ago and
- 17:54they opened that diet.
- 17:55It was all total paganism then and the world leaders just sit there and smile through it.
- 18:00So that part doesn't surprise me at all.
- 18:03But I think we're also going to be seeing and we see it in our individual lives that
- 18:07personalized attack.
- 18:09And that's why we're supposed to put on the whole armor of God.
- 18:12Amen.
- 18:13Amen.
- 18:14Talk just briefly about the Olympics.
- 18:16I felt bad for some of the athletes that obviously didn't know what they're going to
- 18:22do with the opening ceremony or the closing ceremony.
- 18:24But you're right.
- 18:25In these other opening ceremonies or these other things that they had that they hold,
- 18:29it is so blatantly satanic and they're not even hiding it anymore.
- 18:35Do you think people are naive to this, Jill, because that's what I think.
- 18:39Do you think, and when it comes to Christians, we shouldn't be ignorant or naive about these
- 18:44things.
- 18:45But I think generally the rest of the world, they see this and maybe they laugh at it.
- 18:50Maybe I don't think they understand the spiritual forces of darkness is at play.
- 18:55What do you think?
- 18:56Absolutely.
- 18:57I mean, our whole culture has raised us, well, did for a very long time.
- 19:01Our culture raised us to believe in science.
- 19:03Now, of course, they've killed science with everything that happened with the COVID nightmare.
- 19:08They've totally de-throened science.
- 19:12But our culture, down through history, has always been based in the supernatural.
- 19:17If you go and look at any of the museum shows that travel around, there was one for Pompeii
- 19:23that was traveling around for a while.
- 19:25My husband and I went to that and it was all total supernatural paganism.
- 19:32There were idols on everything.
- 19:33They put idols on their earrings.
- 19:35They put idols on their plates for their homes.
- 19:39So down through human history, it has always been about the supernatural.
- 19:44And of course, the Bible is a supernatural book.
- 19:48You cannot read it and not see that virtually every story in there and teaching in there
- 19:53is related to supernatural, to that sense that we cannot see.
- 19:58And so down through history, this has been the pattern of mankind until the late 1900s,
- 20:04early 20th century, when all of a sudden God and everything supernatural was mocked and
- 20:12mocked to the point where it was removed from our worldviews.
- 20:19And you have suddenly this world without God.
- 20:22And so you see the evils start to creep in.
- 20:25The more this world without God grows, and I'm talking about culture, let's say, just
- 20:30pin it down to America.
- 20:32And the more that this world without God grows, they took God out of the public schools,
- 20:38took care of the public schools, the medlemerio hair, the more that grew, the more evil came
- 20:45in.
- 20:46Not the satanic temple, but the whole satanic movement that grew in the late 1960s.
- 20:54And you have a continuing and expanding and exploding through Harry Potter and all those
- 21:02things that people think are funny and that they think are fake, but they're not, because
- 21:08people get angry when I point to Harry Potter, but listen, you know, JK Rowling had an agenda.
- 21:15She was consulting with witches, you know, during the time period that she was writing that.
- 21:20And she had an agenda to include the supernatural, the real supernatural into Harry Potter.
- 21:27And so she had in there what, talking to the dead, reading tea, these are things that
- 21:33the Bible classifies as tools of the occult.
- 21:36So occult is secret or hidden things that belong to Satan.
- 21:40So yes, you see this tremendous explosion of evil when they remove God from everything.
- 21:46But we have always been a world of the supernatural.
- 21:49Humans have always been focused on that.
- 21:52It's only recently that we see that start to disappear.
- 21:56Yeah, it's interesting you're bringing up Harry Potter.
- 21:58That's true.
- 21:59The occult group, like I'm steroids in the 90s, in particular, when you remove God, something's
- 22:06got to, that's a pretty big void that needs to be filled by something.
- 22:09And they have filled it in, but religion, all these different religious ideas, they're,
- 22:14they're all over the place now.
- 22:16I think of Paul, his sermon on Mars Hill, you know, when he talked to, he said, I think
- 22:21I observe your statues and your idols, your very religious.
- 22:25And then he went to talk about the God that they, the God who made all things.
- 22:29I'm, I'm just paraphrasing Acts 17.
- 22:32But there's some things got to fill that void.
- 22:34And I think Christians need to recognize people that don't think they're religious.
- 22:39They really are.
- 22:41Even, you know, atheism, we're talking about satanism, which is very dark.
- 22:46But Jill, how do we respond to some of these things?
- 22:49We know Christianity in America.
- 22:51This is our context.
- 22:53We're thankful for the freedoms we have had in our Constitution, the First Amendment.
- 22:58And we have now, but we can see more discrimination.
- 23:01We can see the double standards, you know, they're accusing us of hate crimes.
- 23:06There's legislation.
- 23:07There's the left wants to pass.
- 23:10What, how can you just encourage believers to stay the course and not be silent about
- 23:16sin and darkness around us?
- 23:18Well, I think you just speak out whenever you can.
- 23:21I mean, a lot of us don't have the podiums.
- 23:24We don't have the mics, the big mics, the stages, you know, the world stages, or even
- 23:29to start our own small political stages, but we have our lives.
- 23:33And the Bible tells us that our lives matter.
- 23:35That's the things we do in our everyday lives matter, the people that we touch, you're
- 23:41in your home and your workplace, the one that you're in for a reason, the people that
- 23:46you know you're there for a reason, God has planted you in that particular area.
- 23:52And none of us, you know, fame is so fleeting, it's nothing.
- 23:57And the classes I teach, you know, I say to my students, so do you know who this, this
- 24:02some, this Hollywood actor is, and I'll name like, you know, Clark Gable or Vivian Lee or
- 24:09these old, I love classic Hollywood.
- 24:12And all I get are blank stairs, you know, from, from people in their 20s, you know, they're
- 24:1918 to 20s, something.
- 24:21Why?
- 24:22Because fame is fleeting, it doesn't matter really at all.
- 24:26What matters is what God has given you to do in your everyday life, reaching out and
- 24:31touching your next door neighbor or your friend or encouraging someone or bringing someone
- 24:37food or taking care of your local people and your restaurants or whatever.
- 24:44My husband and I go out to eat one thing that we've, we've decided to do, and it's probably
- 24:50a very small thing, but we always try to tip more, a lot more, because we feel like that's
- 24:57our way of reaching out to the community around us.
- 25:01You can't walk up to somebody in a restaurant and hand them a $10 bill, but you can for your
- 25:06meal give them a little bit extra because maybe they've been on their feet for eight hours
- 25:10that day.
- 25:11They're tired, but those kinds of things that seem small, but to God, they're acts of kindness
- 25:18and love.
- 25:19And I had one time, and I was actually, I'll tell you the story real quick, dude, as I
- 25:23would jam.
- 25:24Mark Hell.
- 25:25We were having dinner and we were sitting there and we had each paid and I did what I just
- 25:31talked about, tipping and, and the woman who was waiting on us, she was Asian and she
- 25:37was so very quiet and very humble and very excellent server.
- 25:42And so I gave her the tip and all of a sudden I turned around and there was a person next
- 25:46to me, she goes, oh, her and she starts bowing to me in the restaurant and telling me, thank
- 25:54you, thank you, thank you and Chan looks at me and says, what did you do?
- 25:58I said, I don't know, I just, I just gave her a tip and, but do you see what I'm saying?
- 26:04It sounds funny and sounds small, but those are the things that impact everyday lives.
- 26:10And you can do those little bit of things, you can give to your local community shelter,
- 26:14you can do those things and, or if I got in your everyday life, and that is fighting against
- 26:21evil, fighting against the things that are coming against all of us in this world.
- 26:26And these things can often open the door to the gospel too, which is wonderful when we
- 26:31have gospel opportunities because of doing something like you just explained.
- 26:35And yeah, we all have a legacy, maybe not a Walter Martin, the kind of legacy, but we
- 26:40all have a sphere of influence.
- 26:43And thankful that you brought that up, little ways that we can bless others and you never
- 26:47know how God is going to use that.
- 26:49Jill, it went by way too fast today.
- 26:52So Lord willing, we can do this again, but say hi to Kevin, I appreciate his work with
- 26:57Jan.
- 26:58Oh God bless you.
- 26:59And again, friends, you check out WalterMartin.com.

- 27:07So Jill, Lord willing, we'll do it again.
- 27:10Thank you.
- 27:11Thank you for you, David.
- 27:12All right.
- 27:13God bless you.

- 27:19questions.
