- 0:00Hey everyone, it's friendsly. Happy Sunday, it's the Sabbath.
- 0:05I hope that this podcast finds you in an awesome part of.
- 0:09Your day. And I'm so grateful that y'all
- 0:12are tuning in. I honestly cannot.
- 0:14Believe it's already February. Not gonna lie, January felt like
- 0:18it lasted a century, but somehow we're already one month into
- 0:222026 and that just blows my mind.
- 0:26But I'll be so real with y'all I.
- 0:28Kind of woke up in a funk this morning and it surprised me
- 0:32because when I was going to bed last night I was so excited for
- 0:35a new month and I. Love February but y'all it has.
- 0:39Been so cold in Texas and I'm going to sound like such a.
- 0:42Baby to. Anyone in the north or anywhere
- 0:46where it's? Usually cold.
- 0:47Who is listening to this? I would always say I liked.
- 0:51The cold and whenever it fits the season, but I've.
- 0:55Come to realize, I like it for a short.
- 0:57Season just long enough to get my fix and then I'm ready for.
- 1:02Warmer weather so. Seeing that it was 20.
- 1:04Degrees outside, probably. Affected my mood a little, which
- 1:08sounds so. Silly, but it was pretty quick
- 1:11that the Lord. Checked my heart, I was asking
- 1:14him as I was feeling his emotions like Lord renew my
- 1:18mind. Romans 12/2 says to transform or
- 1:21ask God to transform us by the renewing of our mind.
- 1:24And Lord, just help me shift my perspective and remind me of
- 1:28your presence and all of the many blessings that you have
- 1:32lavished on me. So as I.
- 1:33Sat with him, was reflecting for a.
- 1:35Little bit his. Goodness and grace began to
- 1:38overwhelm me almost immediately, in the best way.
- 1:42What started as? A funky, just weather driven
- 1:47mood quickly lost its grip and control on me, so I was reminded
- 1:52of a few powerful truths that I'm going to remind y'all of
- 1:54right now. One.
- 1:56We get to wake up. To a clean slate every single
- 2:00day. His mercies are new every
- 2:02morning, as Lamentations 322 says.
- 2:06Jesus loves us so deeply that he gave his life for you.
- 2:12And nothing, absolutely nothing that you do.
- 2:15Or fail to do. Can separate you from or.
- 2:19Change the Father's love for you.
- 2:21It does not hinge on what you get done that day, your
- 2:24performance or your feelings and that truth alone like.
- 2:29We gotta preach. That we gotta remind ourselves.
- 2:32So as we. Step into a new month As we come
- 2:35to the end of a week, you might be feeling weary and tired, or
- 2:39maybe you're feeling rested. I.
- 2:40Hope that. You're feeling rested.
- 2:42But either. Way I want to remind you of
- 2:44that. Today, let the truth wash.
- 2:46Over you and let it. Refresh your soul so before
- 2:50opening. My Bible and doing my quiet time
- 2:55and then thinking ahead to what I wanted this podcast to be.
- 2:58This morning I just prayed and asked.
- 3:00God to. Point me to something specific
- 3:03that he wanted me to share with you guys.
- 3:06I was honestly envisioning just reading a Psalms, but with it
- 3:10being the start of a new month, it makes so much sense that.
- 3:14This is the passage. That he led me to.
- 3:17So we are going to be in Isaiah chapter 49.
- 3:20Verses 8 through. 18 And this is titled The Restoration of
- 3:24Israel. This is what the Lord says.
- 3:28In the time of my. Favor I will.
- 3:30Answer you, and in the day of salvation I will.
- 3:33Help you I will keep. You and will make you to be a
- 3:37covenant for the people, to restore the land and to reassign
- 3:41its desolate inheritances to. Say to the.
- 3:45Captives come out, and to those in darkness be.
- 3:48Free, they will feed beside the roads.
- 3:52And find pasture on every barren hill.
- 3:55They will neither hunger nor thirst.
- 3:57Nor will the desert. He or the sun beat down on them.
- 4:01He who has compassion on them will guide them and lead them
- 4:05beside springs of water. I will turn all my mountains
- 4:09into roads and my highways. Will be raised up.
- 4:12See, they will. Come from afar, some from the
- 4:15north, some from the West, some from the region of Aswan.
- 4:20Shout for joy. You heavens rejoice.
- 4:23You Earth burst. Into song you mountains.
- 4:27For the. Lord comforts his people and
- 4:29will have compassion on his afflicted ones, but Zion said.
- 4:34The Lord has. Forsaken me.
- 4:35The Lord has forgotten me. Can a mother forget the?
- 4:38Baby at her. Breast and have no compassion on
- 4:41the child she is born, though she may.
- 4:44Forget I will. Not.
- 4:46Forget you see. I have engraved you on the palms
- 4:50of my hands. Your walls are.
- 4:52Ever before me, your children hasten back, and those.
- 4:57Who laid you? Waste apart from you.
- 4:59Lift up your eyes and look around.
- 5:02All your children gather and come to you.
- 5:04As surely as I live, declares the Lord.
- 5:07You will wear them all as ornaments.
- 5:09You will put them on like a bride.
- 5:13That passage. I mean, I don't remember the
- 5:16last time I read that passage. But it just.
- 5:19Oh, it is amazing. So as.
- 5:23We reflect on this and go through it.
- 5:25I want to remind just listeners, Isaiah.
- 5:27Was a prophet. Long before Jesus came, and here
- 5:30he's speaking to the nation of Israel.
- 5:33God's. Chosen nation and people, and
- 5:36they were under the covenant and promise, but.
- 5:39Later we. See in Romans 11 that Paul is
- 5:42explaining that Gentiles and non Jews, they which is mostly
- 5:48likely most of us listening, they have been grafted in by
- 5:52faith in Jesus. So we are the.
- 5:54Grafted in branches because most of us are not a part of the
- 5:57nation of Israel, but now. By faith.
- 6:01We are included in those saved in Christ.
- 6:03We belong to that family of believers.
- 6:06So that means that the promise of restoration in this passage,
- 6:10it's not distant or exclusive. It's ours.
- 6:13Too. And verse 12 it reminds us and
- 6:17reveals. God's heart for all.
- 6:19People and nations. The gospel was never meant to
- 6:22stop with one group. It's meant to expand and be
- 6:26inclusive and intentional. So what?
- 6:29Stood out to me most in this passage is.
- 6:31God's posture towards his people.
- 6:34Let me remind. You.
- 6:36He cares y'all. He sees you.
- 6:40He hears you. You are not a burden to him and
- 6:43notice the certainty of his words.
- 6:45It's not if he will answer. You but he.
- 6:49Will answer you he. Will help you.
- 6:52He will keep you. God is faithful to His.
- 6:56Promises he has never once given, given us a reason to
- 7:00doubt him, even when we've been unfaithful, when we.
- 7:04Have shifted our. Attention to other things in
- 7:06this. World or chased after pleasures.
- 7:09That will never fully. Satisfy.
- 7:11He has remained the same. Hebrews 13/8.
- 7:15Tells us that. Jesus Christ.
- 7:16Is the. Same yesterday, today and
- 7:19forever y'all. He has been patient.
- 7:22He's always. Waiting.
- 7:24His arms have never. Closed off to you.
- 7:28They're wide open, so you were never.
- 7:31Created to live. Feeling chained down,
- 7:33constantly, heavy or worn out and overwhelmed by.
- 7:36This life's. Troubles and this.
- 7:38Passage is such a reset for us because it is so easy to.
- 7:43Slip into the routine. Y'all I fall a prey to it every.
- 7:47Day and I had This is why I have to renew my mind.
- 7:51There are constantly different appointments and
- 7:53responsibilities we have. Lists to check.
- 7:56Off and to do things, but feeling like everything depends
- 8:00on us and our strength was never God's design.
- 8:04Because he calls us to be free. And when scripture is talking
- 8:08about. Pasture I just.
- 8:10Envisioned these wide open fields, rolling fields where we
- 8:15can. Breathe a space.
- 8:17To be nourished, freedom to rest and enjoy.
- 8:20This is not confinement, we're not put in a box.
- 8:23This is not pressure. And it also promises that you
- 8:28will not be drained by. Heat or exhaustion?
- 8:30From the sun, you're meant to. Be refreshed in God's.
- 8:35Presence. Which is always with us.
- 8:38We are sealed with this spirit as a believer.
- 8:41It strengthens you it. Fuels you.
- 8:43It empowers you to. Live in this freedom.
- 8:47And it also reminded me a lot of Psalm 23 whenever it's talking
- 8:52about leading. Beside the still waters, because
- 8:55God is our Good Shepherd, He goes ahead of us.
- 9:00He's always showing us where to step and leading us into peace,
- 9:04not chaos and not overwhelming. It makes me think back to
- 9:09whenever I I grew up going to Colorado in the summers,
- 9:12whenever I'm hiking up a mountain.
- 9:15Some trails were rocky and there were uneven surfaces, but
- 9:19instead of looking at the entire path ahead, I learned to train
- 9:23my mind and my eyes to focus on one step at a time.
- 9:27And I have such a clear image of just being a little girl and
- 9:30letting my. Father, walk ahead.
- 9:32Of me as he led me up this trail, I trusted him to guide me
- 9:36up safely and I believe that's. The picture.
- 9:39That God wants to give. Us here too.
- 9:42Keep your eyes on your father. Listen for his.
- 9:46Voice trust his lead because. He knows.
- 9:51He created the. Terrain that you're walking on,
- 9:54he knows the best. Way to get you.
- 9:56Up that mountain and to get you down that mountain.
- 10:00Do not. Fear the path because he's.
- 10:02Walking with you, trying to navigate life alone without him.
- 10:07I it's just. Exhausting.
- 10:09I can't even imagine how unsettling it would.
- 10:12Be if I. Could not be reminded that my
- 10:15father is with me. When God says.
- 10:18Can a mother? Forget the baby at her breast,
- 10:21y'all. He's speaking straight to our
- 10:23deepest fears. Because if.
- 10:25Even a human mother. A mother.
- 10:28Who? Can still sin and mess up and
- 10:32forget if she can love her. Child that fiercely.
- 10:36How much more? Does your perfect father love
- 10:38you? He does not forget, He does not
- 10:42overlook. He does not misplace.
- 10:44His kids, you are his. He delights.
- 10:48In you following him, you're not a burden.
- 10:51You're his beloved, so here's a. Few questions to let sink in and
- 10:56reflect on if you've been feeling forgotten or alone.
- 11:01Have you been meditating on truth?
- 11:03Or have you quietly lost sight of who God is?
- 11:06And how? Deeply He cares for you.
- 11:09Do you believe he is your father?
- 11:11A father, that is. More than able and willing to
- 11:14meet every single physical, emotional and spiritual need
- 11:18that you have. And are you living with the
- 11:21freedom and joy that comes from being fully known and fully
- 11:26loved? And is that evident to those
- 11:29around you? Is there proof of that?
- 11:32Because our gratitude it. Shows up in joy, in the
- 11:36rejoicing, in the worship and praise in our day-to-day.
- 11:39Life because. We are loved completely and
- 11:42constantly. So let's pray real quick.
- 11:47Heavenly Father, thank you for bringing to mind that we are
- 11:52seen and loved and never forgotten.
- 11:57Would you continue renewing our minds with the truth, refreshing
- 12:02our hearts and our souls where we've grown tired?
- 12:06Maybe. Complacent or weary, God, would
- 12:10you help us to walk? Fully in freedom, abiding in you
- 12:14and trusting you. Step.
- 12:16By step by step, we receive your free peace.
- 12:21And care today. Father we are.
- 12:24So undeserving of your. Love, but we.
- 12:27Thank you that nothing nothing in this.
- 12:30World could separate. You could separate us.
- 12:34From your love or from you, we pray this all in your precious
- 12:38name, Jesus, Amen. OK.
- 12:41Well have a wonderful rest of your Sunday.
- 12:44This was such an awesome reset for me and I pray it.
- 12:46Is for y'all too. And I will see y'all on
- 12:49tomorrow's episode. Bye y'all.
