Man, very exciting. Like who who Barry: Number 10, Yes. Jen: We're double digits. Shaun: would have thought that we would have made it this far to ten episodes? Barry: I don't know, not me. Shaun: I mean From the beginning we talked about it doing it for the long run. If we're gonna do it, we're gonna do it. So Jen: Yeah, yeah, this was Barry: No, this was one of our goals. We want to Jen: one of our goals. Barry: be one of the, what did you say, Sean? Like 7.5 % who make it past episode 21? That's our goal. No, it was 50, I think. Shaun: Yeah. Something crazy like that from yeah, for the people of Jen: That's our ultimate goal. Barry: I think it was episode 50, was 7.25. Shaun: Yeah, I think that it's only like forty percent make it past eight episodes, and then beyond that forty percent, only like fifty percent of those make it or no, eight percent of those make it to fifty episodes. Barry: Yeah. Shaun: So it it's wild. Well, we Yeah, we are we are sticking with it. Exactly. Well, Barry: small we want to get there. We've been having fun. We've had fun. So. Jen: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Shaun: for those of you that are coming back, welcome back. Glad to have you here again. also Barry: As always. Shaun: For those that might be new, this is your first time watching our episodes. Make sure that you do go and check out our website, www.baldenough to say it.com. You've got all Jen: dot com. Shaun: of our platforms there. we are on most major platforms. Apple, Spotify, of course, YouTube, all of the socials. So go check out. Like, subscribe, follow. Barry: No. And we got our merch. Shaun: And we got merch. Yes, go get some merch. Barry: You get Jen: Get yourself Barry: your... Jen: a hat. Shaun: Get yourself a hat. Get yourself a shirt. Yes. You can probably Jen: Get yourself a coffee mug, some socks. Shaun: barely see the coffee mug, but there's one back there for me. Yeah. Barry: They do have socks. there's a tiny one. Shaun: So go and represent the Barry: think they have fanny packs too. Jen: Yeah, they do have fanny packs. Shaun: Do okay, who wears fanny packs though? Barry: Yo, Jen: I love fanny packs. I wear fanny packs. Barry: I know quite a few people that wear fanny packs. Shaun: You love many bugs? Jen: Well, I don't ever wear them like that though. I usually wear them like a cross body. Barry: Interesting. So you can get one of those. Shaun: I could see that. But don't they make crossbodies? Jen: Hmm? Shaun: Don't they make crossbodies though? Jen: Yeah, but I feel like even the ones that I've bought recently, technically they're cross bodies, but they're like in a fanny pack. Barry: It's a fanny pack. Jen: Yes, it's Shaun: Mm. Jen: built like a fanny pack. But yeah, I've seen a lot of guys wearing them too. Barry: I mean, I feel like guys wear Milan now too. No judgment. I'm just saying. I've seen it. Yeah. I agree. I I Shaun: Do you Whatever makes you happy? Do you Yes, live and let live. Jen: Listen, they're handy. Barry: like pockets. I enjoy a good pocket. Jen: Mm-hmm. I like pockets. Women's pants don't have pockets, so fanny pack it is. Barry: I've heard and read this. I get it. And that's Shaun: Yeah. Barry: why y'all carry them big old purses too. Jen: And that's why we carry those big old purses. Shaun: I mean, be the change you want to see in the world. Like let's start designing some women's fashion that has pockets. We can be we can be a part of the movement. Barry: I there you go. Jen: Let's, I'm down. Let's do it. Shaun: Why why why do women's pants not have pockets most of the time though? Why is that a thing? Jen: because they carry purses. Shaun: Hm. So is it big purse that's in control of it? Barry: We watched the Sunday morning on it and there was reasons behind it that are no longer relevant but for the time when they started making women's pants. Jen: Well, I'm sure too. It's Shaun: Mean. Jen: like women weren't allowed to wear jeans or like pants like that. It was very frowned upon. Yeah. So. Barry: That was part of it. Like they didn't really have jeans for women to wear. Jeans, I think, were one Shaun: Really. Barry: of the first pairs of pants that women got to wear that had pockets. Surprisingly. Like, yeah, even like in those Jen: I believe that. I believe that. Shaun: Well, that's fair. Barry: power suits and stuff that women be wearing, like business women, those usually don't come with pockets. They're faux. But that's why Becca likes the real pockets. Shaun: They don't have pockets. Yeah. Jen: Nope. They're fake. I actually just bought a new blazer and I was like, pockets are fake. Shaun: Nope. Barry: fake job. Jen: They're fake. Barry: Becca likes pocket dresses with pockets on them. Those have been more popular. She's finds Jen: yeah, for sure. Barry: them now. Shaun: Dresses are great. I mean Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: why not more dresses? Jen: So do that. Wear more of those, everyone. Shaun: I mean Barry: You talking about sundresses, John and Michelle? This guy, sundresses. Shaun: it's summertime, dude. The sundresses. Why not? Sing it. See, Barry, there you go. That is proof that she just breaks out into song sometimes. You just have to Exactly. Barry: I heard it. I heard it. She's just showing off for everyone else. Jen: I do it all the time, okay? I don't know why you say you haven't heard it. He has, he's just lying. Barry: Maybe I just don't pay attention enough. Jen: I so. Shaun: At least you admit it. At least you admit that you don't pay attention. Barry: I mean, I don't, bro. I don't know way too much. Shaun: That's very that's very bald of you to to admit that you don't pay attention. Jen: Very bald of Barry: You know, Jen: you. Barry: try and keep it a hundred, Shaun: There you go. Man, well, we have gone down a rabbit hole already. As as usual. So, Jen, Barry: as as per the norm. Jen: We really have happens every time. Shaun: how's your week been, madam? How you been? Jen: good. Monday, we came back from our trip. So we were, that was a long day. But then it was just, you know, work, the usual, trying to keep this house clean as if we don't live in it. But we do live in it with three small children. It's exhausting, if I'm being honest. Barry: the worst isn't it? It's the worst. Yeah, it is. Shaun: Imagine. Barry: You're just like harsh on them like yo clean up after yourself like I don't want to have to clean up after you just put away your stuff. Jen: Yeah. Mm hmm. Mm hmm. Yep. Yeah. Shaun: But it's good practice, because you're probably gonna do that in the new house anyway, so like not that's fair. Jen: Not to this extent. Not to where it doesn't look like Barry: No, it's to a whole Jen: I don't live in it. Yeah. Yeah. I have to make Barry: nother level, bro. It really is. It's kind of... it's a lot. Jen: it like, I don't know, show ready anytime. Barry: Yeah, you gotta be ready to bounce within Shaun: I don't think you want to try. Barry: like hours. So usually people sketch this stuff last minute all the time. It is that. It is that. Jen: Yep. Yeah, it's intense. It is so stressful. It's stressful. Shaun: Cheese. Sounds very stressful. Jen: It's just, I don't know, it's a lot to keep up with. you know, all means to an end. Shaun: Exactly. And Barry: through that. Shaun: you you're gonna make it. It's gonna be great. It's gonna be fantastic and wonderful. Yeah. The largest transactions Jen: Yeah. Yeah. True, true. Barry: big transaction. Shaun: of your lifetime is your homes. Anytime you just don't want to Barry: Yeah, that would make sense. Jen: for June. Shaun: your home. It's the largest one. Well nice. Well Jen: True, Yeah. Shaun: good. Barry, how about you, dog? How's your week, man? Barry: Pretty low key, playing in the golf league on Wednesday. Me and my buddy, shout out to Nick. We went out and won our little match on Wednesday night. No, a different Nick. Good, good recall. Jen: Nick we met today? okay, okay, okay. Shaun: Dang. All these nicks in your life. Barry: I do, a couple. But yeah, so that was fun. Shaun: Yeah. Nice. Jen: That's fun. How are you guys doing in the league? Barry: We're actually in first place right now. Yeah. Jen: No way. Okay, stunt on these hoes. Go ahead. Go ahead. Let them know. Barry: It's not not because of me and now Shaun: Dang. Is Barry: we have a good we have no we have a dough though there are really actually some good golfers in the league. Now I know I mean Shaun: it because everybody else sucks or is it because y'all are good? Jen: Listen, I'm trying to hype him up, Barry: I mean we play nine holes and I'm I'm like at a seven handicap so I shoot seven over on nine holes. It's pretty solid. But we Jen: Okay. Barry: have a dude who played collegiate golf who's when I play with Jen: Mmm. Barry: him he shot two under so he's a good golfer. Shaun: Dang. Jen: Okay. Barry: Yeah, so he's carried us. Jen: His back's a little sore. Barry: Yeah, he's carrying a lot of weight, but I mean, I've helped out when I play with him. We actually won real big because we both play pretty well. I'm the second, Shaun: Yeah. Jen: There you go. Barry: I'm second behind him, but he's way better than me. I mean, there's a different like golf is a crate like. Statistically golf is a very hard sport and people, I don't think people realize that until Jen: yeah. For sure. Shaun: yeah. Barry: you actually play it. Like I think only 20 % of all golfers and I'm not trying to brag on myself, but only 20 % of golfers will break 90 in their lifetime. I think it's 40 % break a hundred. Shaun: I mean, I feel like golf is one of those sports though that people play recreationally to prove Jen: yeah. Shaun: that it can be recreation. Like I f yeah, that's what I'm saying. Yeah, like it's so hard. Barry: Yo, it's hard. I've been playing since was five, bro. And I mean, I'm not a super consistent player now. I got when we first got like COVID and everything happened and we got sent home. Jen: Mmm. Barry: Yeah, I was playing once a week and I was shooting in the 70s. Bro, that's the best golf I ever played because I was playing once a Jen: you Shaun: Okay. Barry: week. It was fun. But you have to play a lot to be good at golf like professional golfers, Jen: Can we go back to that? Yeah, I'm sure. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: bro. That's like it's a whole nother level. They hit like a thousand shots a day. Shaun: yeah. Here. Barry: Like, Jen: Yeah, Barry: and it's just Jen: I believe that. Barry: I feel like I would lose the love and the joy I have for winter got to that. But I'm a kind of a Jen: if it got to be that intense. Barry: lazy person. like anything to that level for me is just sounds like exhausting. So and that it is they have that drive, bro. They have that ambition. Now it's insane because Jen: Yeah. Shaun: I mean, that's what professional athletics is though. Like, yeah, it's drive, it's dedication. Like that's what it all comes down to. Jen: Yeah. Barry: like you really got to do that to be that good. Shaun: Like if you think of like an NFL kicker or even a college kicker, like they're out there kicking constantly, all day, every day. And people it's so easy. You're sitting on your couch. Yeah. Yeah. Barry: a lot. Yes. That's muscle memory, bro. It's just that's literally what they do. They can tell Jen: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Barry: like they're they just do it so much. It's second nature. And then that's when Shaun: Mm-hmm. Jen: Yeah. Barry: they just build on that. And that's how they get so good. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: I couldn't imagine the pressure of a kicker. You got same thing, bro, like playing golf, Shaun: No. Jen: I know, right? Ugh. Barry: standing over a putt from five feet that's worth $2 million, dude, could you imagine? But for them, it's nothing. Shaun: Right? Or even like Jen: No, no, I sure can. Yeah. Yeah. Shaun: on the free throw line. You're on the free throw line Barry: yeah, NBA players on the free throw line when you're you're down one, you have two to make. Yeah. Shaun: in the playoffs or the finals. Barry: And you could win Jen: Yeah. Barry: and go on for two free throws, bro. Yeah. No, no. Like I say, I don't mind pressure, Shaun: On a road game? Or even at home. Like that's tr crazy to think about. Jen: Mm-mm. Mm-mm. Barry: but that just sounds like a whole nother level that I would Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: I don't think Shaun: Yeah. Barry: I would want. Jen: Yeah. Barry: But if you work that hard and you're that ambitious, then you do want it. So I could Shaun: Yeah. Barry: see it. But no, Jen: Yeah. Barry: it was so that was one thing. I mean, I was really Yeah, like we didn't sit outside of work. What we Jen: Pretty chill. Barry: did today, but. Shaun: Nice. What we did today. Well, as of recording what we did today. There you go. I'm like thinking future. Like we didn't do anything today because as of actual recording. Gotcha. Barry: Yeah, exactly. No, no. As of today, a real life recording. Yeah. Shaun: Gotcha. Well, nice. Good to hear that y'all had some good weeks. Pretty chill. I had. Barry: What about you, man? Shaun: Well, I actually had a a pretty good update this week too. I officially have two working toilets in my house again. I didn't. So okay. Jen: Yeah! Barry: did you replace the flapper, bro? What did you do? Jen: Okay, what happened? Shaun: So here's what I did. At the time when we recorded last week, what Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: I did is I actually had some drain cleaner that I poured in the toilet, let that mug sit in there for two days straight. Barry: Dane. Shaun: I was like I'm Jen: okay. Shaun: like, I'm just gonna let it go and let's just see what happens. If I have to replace the toilet, I have to replace the toilet. I really don't care at this point. so I just let it Jen: You Shaun: sit in there and then I just like all right, let's try it. So I went in there, put some hot water in there, flushed it, worked beautifully. So I'm like, all right, let's see if it was a fluke. Did it again and it worked. So I don't know what happened because I don't put anything Jen: Yeah. Shaun: in my toilet unless Ace put something in there and somehow flushed it and I didn't see it. Like that's the only other thing that I can think of. Barry: I highly doubt that was the case. Shaun: Unless maybe the Jen: Hmm. Shaun: never mind, I'm not gonna say that on the air. But unless unless someone else put something in there. that's really the only thing that I can think of. So I don't know. Jen: Hmm. Barry: I'm glad to hear it work and then leave. Jen: Maybe Ace Shaun: Yeah. Jen: heard you say that Hershey was the best dog ever and got mad. It was like, watch this. Shaun: my god, he can get over it because she was. Yeah. He can just Barry: Payback, payback. Shaun: get over himself. but yeah, that was a very Barry: Dang. Well, that's good news. Shaun: nice update this week. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: also, I mean, the way that we all met, that no longer exists for me. As of this week. So Barry: It's crazy, bro. It's crazy. I never thought Jen: That's so wild. Wild. Barry: I'd see the day. But I mean, I know change Jen: I know. Barry: happens and things. Shaun: It does. Barry: I mean, you go to, you just want to try new things, Yup. That is the one thing in life that is like inevitable, bro. Change will happen. No matter how Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Like things change. People move around. Jen: Yeah, you move on. Yeah. Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. It will. Barry: good it's going or how bad it's going, you will never be Jen: Yeah. Barry: stuck in the same place forever. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: which is like Shaun: But Jen: the beautiful thing and the gross thing. Because like beautiful Shaun: Right. Jen: hold on to the moments live in the moment. But at the same time, like. Barry: I don't know. I've change. I love it. Shaun: I do too. And that's why like I told somebody I was like, Don't be s don't Barry: It's hard, I don't know. Shaun: be sad that it's over, be glad that it happened. Like it's it's fun. Like that's Jen: Yeah, yeah, exactly, exactly. Barry: Yeah, yeah, for sure. Shaun: like don't regret anything. Just live, move forward and just keep it going. So Jen: I don't know, I do still have some regrets, but I also try to stay in the moment and just say it happened for a reason. Yep. Yeah. Yeah. Barry: Yeah, definitely. Can't change them though. So you can't harp on them, but just, they will. Shaun: I do too. Yeah. Yeah. It'll just drag you down. Yeah. so that was big. That was yesterday. Jen: That was a big one. Shaun: Yeah, big. I mean almost a decade. So yeah, that was really big. Barry: Real close. Shaun: I mean, really the only other thing was what we did today. Barry mentioned it earlier, Jen. You started to talk about it Jen: Hmm. Shaun: too. for those of you, we have a couple people that know because they were actually out there. Barry: Yes. Shaun: but for those of you that don't know, we keep our word and we do what we say that we're gonna do. And Barry: We're going to start doing it more often too. Shaun: we are gonna start doing it more Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: often. So today we actually went to the lake. I don't know how you people almost said yeah, the river. I Jen: Went to the river. We went to the river. Barry: Well, river, not the lake. Shaun: guess it didn't really seem like a river because we were but whatever. So we went to the river. Jen: It flowed a little. It had a little bit of a flow. Barry: It's literally the Guadalupe River. No, that stuff was strong, yo. When y'all left, I went out there and we floated Jen: It was strong. Barry: down. That current was strong. Shaun: see, are floating on? Barry: I just walked down to the little spot that it did stop a lot of it. But even if you got out with them, Jen: Hmm it must because that little island was there like blocking the current from where we were Shaun: Is that normally not there? Barry: it's usually not as high as it is. It's all the rain we've had. It's a little higher than normal, for sure. Shaun: well no, the little island, is that normally not there? Barry: It's usually bigger. Shaun: Well, that would make sense if there's not as much water. Yeah. Barry: Tuesday deeper. Yeah, Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: the water is usually lower. So the islands usually more prominent. Shaun: Yeah. But yeah. Yeah, Barry: But Sean, this was your first time to the river. Shaun: I I keep saying lake, but yeah, the river. Barry: No, I just Jen: Hehehehe Barry: mess with you. Well, what is what Shaun: Now you're good. Barry: is your thoughts? I do Jen: Yeah, tell us all the things. Barry: have to OK, before Sean says this thing, I will, as I did earlier. I didn't come through. He didn't get to see the cheeks he was hoping there was at least Jen: He didn't get a lot of chinks. Shaun: Okay. Barry: one or two for him that he enjoyed, I know. Shaun: Th there was one really good one. There was one really good one. but no. So Jen: Yeah. Shaun: first of all, let's back it up quite a bit. Barry, I wanna give you your flowers, dog. Like Barry: What's up? Shaun: going out there early, getting the spot, getting everything set up, like Yeah, putting up the camping and everything. So give you your Jen: Mm-hmm, getting a good spot. Barry: I mean, we're going to do it. We're to do it right. We five minutes from a bird and nothing. Nothing. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: flowers on that. I don't think that I told you in person, so I'm gonna tell you right now. Thank you for doing Barry: Well, I appreciate it. But that's like I said, bro, I go all out. I'm not gonna half ass it. That's what I hear. Yeah, yeah, and it's it's it's changed too. It's a little bit different. So, but Shaun: Yeah. And we're gonna go even more all out the next time. Now that now that we know what it looks like and or I know what it y'all did y'all already knew. Yeah. Yeah. Jen: Mm-hmm. Yeah Barry: no. Shaun: We can make like a full a full party of it next time. But yeah, I mean first Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: time I mean it didn't start out the best. I will say that. Barry: No miscommunication Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: Yeah. So for those of you that know the the central Texas New Bronckfalls area, maybe have gone to float the river. Barry: Mm-hmm. Shaun: we went to the Guadalupe River and there is this company and they have multiple spots on the Guadalupe. Well, Barry: multiple starts. Shaun: me, being my first time ever going, went to the wrong place. And the crazy thing is, is Jen, you and I both should have known that I was in the wrong spot because Jen mentioned that there is going to be a little shack that you get out of your car and you go and you pay so that you can go and get your wristbands and everything. Barry: access. Shaun: Yeah. Well Jen: Hmm. Shaun: I pull up. This is a big building. I'm like, okay, this is this is not a shack at all. Maybe it's Barry: He's like, maybe I heard definition of a shack is different than mine. Jen: I Jen. Yeah. Shaun: a little bit maybe we come from two different classes. Maybe maybe that's what it is. Yeah. Yeah. Maybe maybe something like that. Barry: Right, maybe Jens second is not into the mansion like that's what a shack is. It's nothing. Jen: happen. Shaun: Well then I keep going. I go around the corner and I don't have to get out of my car. There's these two dudes that have the little handheld like Scanner things where you just tap your card and you can pay, and that's how you get your parking pass. So my dumbass, like I just keep going. I'm like, all right, well, cool. And then I'm trying to figure out where y'all are. And y'all tell me that I need to go down a hill. I'm like, I don't see a single hill anywhere over here. Like, what hill am I going down? And Barry's like, if you go, you'll see our car and Jen's van. I'm Jen: Go down it. Shaun: like, no, that's not it. So lo and behold, we call, we get on the phone, figure it out. I go to the different area. Jen: He ain't there. Barry: Yeah, it took a while. Took a while. Shaun: Jen, thank you for sharing your location. I got Jen's location, went. I still passed it. So I see the location Jen: anytime. Barry: Even then though, he was still not getting it. Jen: You Shaun: and I look over to my right. Yeah, I'm like, there's a Harley Davidson Jen: Listen, sorry, I did all I could. Shaun: store here, so that can't be where they are. So I go around the corner, still nothing. Barry: can't be where I'm supposed to be. It's like 200 Jen: You Barry: feet from there. It is a little shack. Shaun: Yeah. So I was like, all right, I'm gonna stop. I I just stopped. Jen: Check. Shaun: I got on my phone. I was like, Okay, this has to be somewhere close by, so I pulled it up and I finally got there. It was so that was that was an ordeal just to get there. Jen: That wasn't ordeal. Barry: You were about like an hour after we got there and all set up, but you were close. It just took a while. Shaun: Yeah. Which was stupid. I would have actually been Jen: Yeah. Shaun: on time, but all of that crap made me almost Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: an hour late. So there's that. I'm C P time to start off with when I Barry: CPT, Shaun: yeah, when I wasn't even trying to be. I was trying to actually be on time. Barry: Now you are. It's all good. Shaun: But then Jen: The effort was there. Shaun: yeah, the effort was there. I really tried. Barry: It was, for sure. Shaun: Once I got there, it was great though, because I got to see y'all, hang out with y'all, have a really good time. And enjoy Jen: Yeah. Shaun: enjoy the water. Barry: It was cold. It cool. I don't want to say cold. It was cool. Shaun: Yeah, it it was Jen: It was cold. Shaun: it's cold when you first step in. It was it was a bit of a shock when you first step in. Jen: Yeah, it's cold. But Barry: Yeah. Jen: it honestly felt really good because like sitting in the sun, like I really felt like I was bacon. And so I was Shaun: Mm-hmm. Jen: like, let me go in and it's I didn't I definitely got I definitely got dark. But I didn't get any burn. So Barry: Did you get sunburned? I did. I got a little pinkness, bro. I a little pink. Jen: a little punk. Yeah. Shaun: How are Becca's knees? Becca's knees were pretty red. Barry: Yo, she be getting red on her knees all the time from the sun, bro. She Jen: Yeah Shaun: Man. Barry: just be sitting in that chair and just she don't think. Just bacon. Now she didn't get Shaun: It's the bacon. Jen: She was trying. She had her umbrella at one point. She was trying. Barry: the umbrella at one point, but now her knees usually do get sunburned. She don't be. Shaun: Yeah. Yeah. Not good. Jen: Yeah, that's why I kept getting in the water because I was like, if I feel my skin getting hot, I need to get in the water and protect. Barry: That and her low forehead, we're getting burnt too. Shaun: Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if my left arm ends up with something. 'Cause it was getting pretty warm. I'm just gonna be dark, which is just fine. Yeah. Barry: Mmm. No. Put some little, like, recovery, like, Jen: Yeah. Barry: aloe vera gel and stuff Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: on me. I mean, Shaun: I don't even need that. I'll just put lotion on it. I'll be good. Barry: I'm not as dark as you, bro. Jen: I don't need that. Shaun: Got that got that beautiful that beautiful melanated skin. Yeah. Got that good skin skin. Good amount of it. Barry: What is it? The melanin? The melanin? Yeah. Jen: Mm-mm. He got that good melanin. Which Barry: We've got a good amount of it, but... Jen: is funny, my daughter asked me what melanin was the other day and I had to explain it to her. So funny. Mm-hmm. Barry: Pig...penskin pigment. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: So she was like, so I have more than you, Mom. I was like, you sure do, baby cakes, because your mama don't got much. Basically, a ghostie. I'm a porcelain princess. You better watch your mouth. Shaun: Yeah. Yeah. Your mom's basically a vampire. Porcelain Barry: You ain't wrong. You ain't wrong. now. Shaun: Princess, I like that. I really do like that. Yeah. Barry: however you word it. I'm glad you didn't. But we Jen: So that's what say. Barry: stayed out until like 5.30, so I was out there a while. Shaun: Yeah, that was crazy. Jen: Hmm. Shaun: I had to I had to get some food. Barry: feel that we have what a burger delivery when we go home. Hit real Jen: Yeah. nice. I stepped at P. Terry's. Shaun: Like that's what's up. Barry: well. Pteris dough too. Yeah. Pizza. Shaun: Both y'all had burgers, dang. I had pizza. I hadn't had pizza in a long time. So yeah, Jen: Hmm Shaun: I like, I want some pizza. It's clutch. Yeah. Jen: Pizza on like a River days kind of good though. It's it's good. Yeah, I feel like burgers are still my number one, but Shaun: yeah. Anything in sandwich form, when you're around water, anything in sandwich form is Jen: Yeah. Shaun: usually like a great way to go. Yeah. I don't know. But yeah, I mean the Barry: Good way, little bread. Yeah. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: cheeks weren't plentiful. Weren't very many cheeks. But we are also later in the season. Yeah. Barry: They weren't. I don't know if it was too late in the season. Well, they Jen: you Barry: said, I guess, we were a little too far down, too. Like, people were getting out a little ahead of where we were. Like, where we got Jen: I think so, yeah. Way earlier. Shaun: So Barry: in to float at the end of the day, that's where they were getting out at. No, it was a good spot. It was. Shaun: Yeah. I like how chill it was at our area though. Yeah. Jen: Yeah, it was. Shaun: It's at at the expense of not seeing as many cheeks, I think that it was still worth it to have a chill spot right there. Yeah. There was Barry: You saw a couple. Jen: Yeah. Yeah. Shaun: that's what I'm saying. There was one. Bad. Baddie. That yeah, that Jen: That's all he needed in his life. Shaun: that made it worth it. Yeah. So Barry: The other one that was like land, suns up, buns up. Shaun: yeah, that one too. Yeah, Barry: Yeah. Shaun: that one's all right. And then the one that was sitting Jen: don't remember that one. Shaun: down, that one was pretty decent too. But yeah. There were there were cheeks. Barry: He got a couple good looks. Jen: You got a couple. You got a couple. Shaun: Yeah. Yeah, there were some cheeks. so yeah, that was really fun. Barry: There you go. That was a day for it. wasn't overly hot, I don't think. It could have been hot. Yeah, think like, yeah. Yeah, pretty solid. We could Jen: Nah, not with how cool the water is. Yeah. And we had tree coverage, so it wasn't too bad. Terrible. Shaun: No, it was only when the sun peaked out. Yeah. Okay. Barry: have moved the canopy to the water, but. Shaun: That's what I'm saying. This was just a test run. It was a trial run. Jen: Yeah. Barry: It was a trial run. Shaun: So next time we'll do some other stuff. We'll see what it's like and we'll Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: do that. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: We'll just have to figure out when we want that to be. If it's gonna be like next year. Yeah, or I was like Yeah. Barry: I was gonna say we've got like a month left, maybe six weeks tops. Jen: Yeah, was, mm-hmm, mm-hmm. Barry: And next two weekends, we got a plan. I'm gonna Jen: But it sounds like our schedules are not gonna accommodate. Barry: say I know the next two weekends I'm not Shaun: Yeah. It's gonna be tough if we try and do it in the East. Barry: ever won't be available. And then I think Jen said there. Next weekend is Shaun: Yeah. Because you're busy man. speaking of not being available. Jen: Yeah. Barry: with you. What are you talking about? Day, just a busy man. Shaun: That's neither here nor there. It doesn't matter. Jen: it doesn't matter. Barry: The other week I'm doing stuff about family. Shaun: May to get your family. I'll check. Barry: You Jen: Not around here partner. Shaun: I know, right? You have to make memories with the family. Have to enjoy Jen: memories. Shaun: those types of things. That's what it's Barry: So so Shaun: all about. That's what life is about. It's enjoying Jen: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Shaun: your friends and family, having a good time, and living a very good health happy life. You okay? You got a ghost? Jen: Yeah. No. Shaun: Okay. Okay. Just making sure. Jen: Ignore me, I swear. Just ignore me. We're totally fine. Shaun: man. But yeah, it was a it was a nice day. Jen, you asked me earlier how I would rate it. Scale of one to ten. Jen: Yes. Barry: Yeah, one to ten, this is your scale. Jen: One to ten. Shaun: Yeah. I think on a scale of one to ten, holistically, I would probably give it a seven. The Barry: Is that including Jen: Okay. Barry: the error at the beginning? Fair enough. Fair enough. Shaun: That's why. Yeah. So I'm saying that's why I would rate it probably Jen: Mmm. Shaun: a seven. just because Jen: I'll take that. Shaun: it was like I couldn't I couldn't find it and I like, I don't know what's happening. And then fewer cheeks. So I I feel like I had to count off for fewer cheeks too. Barry: Well, now you know where it's at. Real easy to get to for your spot. Fair enough. Jen: Yeah. Yeah Shaun: So I feel like it'll easily be a nine or ten next time we go. 'Cause Jen: for sure. Shaun: we can go earlier in the season. I I know where it is now. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: So it'll be a it'll be a good time. Barry: we might still be able to pull some off for a day. Labor day would probably be pretty poppin bro. Jen: Yeah. No, I'm gone Labor Day weekend. Shaun: That's true, Labor Day might be problem. my god, Jen's not available Labor Day weekend. That it is, you told us earlier. Yeah. You told us that earlier today, that's right. Jen: I already told you all that. We're in South Padre on Labor Day weekend. Barry: Yes. You do. Jen: I did. Don't shake your head at me like that. Shaun: That that was him. Jen: He's still shaking his head. Right? How busy he is. Shaun: The man who just talked about how he has to spend time with his family. Barry: I'm going two weeks. I'm going to two weeks. We always try to go before school starts. Didn't work out. Yeah. Jen: We tried to, it just, with the schedule of the summer, it didn't work out, yeah. So we were just gonna go Labor Day weekend. Barry: We used to go like right at the end, once Shaun: She basically just said that we're taking all her time, Barry. Barry: schools kind of start other areas and then it's usually pretty low. Okay. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Mm. That'll be fun. Barry: I'm in that old age, I mean, I'm going out to eat at five o'clock. I'm going to the beach when it ain't Please, Jen: where there's the least amount of people. Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: bro. Shaun: Well, you all enjoy your time and Padre Jen: literally. Shaun: having fun. Barry: we don't go to Padre, we go to Porto. Shaun: Pour day, Padre, it's only like an hour or so away. Jen: We usually go to Port A, but this year we decided to go down to, yeah, South Pod. Barry: I'm not driving them them six hours, bro. It's too much. It's too much. Shaun: It's all right. Jen: We're gonna give it a go. Barry: No, I mean, if you haven't done it, give it a shot to me. I've done both. Jen: Yeah, not worth it. Barry: Not worth the extra two and a half hours of Shaun: Yeah. Barry: Hard pass. It's a nicer beach. I will not like argue with anybody that's Alpadre is not a nicer beach. I'll give you Shaun: no, yeah, for sure. Jen: Yeah. Barry: that. It is not worth the drive. Jen: You Shaun: So do y'all go to Mustang? Barry: Yeah, I mean like poor day, yeah. Jen: It's like that strip. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: Just like the downtown. We Shaun: Yeah. Barry: usually do an Airbnb or Verbo. Jen: There's these really nice Airbnbs. I'll have to send them to you. I'm sure you already have yours booked, but... Barry: Talk about Cinnamon Shores or whatever it's called. Have you seen that new development? Mm-hmm. And they're like crazy color. Yeah, yeah, I looked at some of those, but we like to be closer to that. That's Jen: I actually think that might be what it is. It's like a little community's got a pool in the middle with a splash pad. Okay, okay, then maybe. Barry: a little out. It's probably like a half mile out of the downtown area. It's a little further out. I mean, there's a lot of little mini subdivisions. We found one. Jen: Okay, then maybe that's not what we're talking about. I'll send them to you. Yeah. Barry: It's like we got a house that came with a pool or has a pool. Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: Cause we're going for four days. We'll Jen: Mm. Barry: do Friday through Monday. One day at the beach is Jen: That'll be fun. Barry: enough for me. So then we'll use the other day just to chill at the spot and hang out at the pool. We Jen: Yeah, hang out in the pool. Barry: got two golf carts. We got like 12 people going. So yeah. Yeah. It's family. Shaun: Nice. That's what's up. Thanks for them, I do. That's dope. Jen: fun, that'll be a good time. I know, I mean, it's fine. I got family. I can bring them. Shaun: Right. I am family, right? No. I I know my place. Barry: No. I mean, you're my, Jen: Right? I thought we, it's episode already. Barry: you're my pick family. This is my blood family. Shaun: no, I'm still in the field. I haven't made it into the house yet. Jen: Is it your mom or Bex Barry: Yeah, my mom, my grandma, Jen: family? Barry: Becca's dad, his girlfriend, my brother, his girlfriend, my sister, we're all going. Jen: I'm great with families. That's all I'm saying. Barry: And my mom's boyfriend, Shaun: Moms love me. Barry: think. Yeah. Jen: Great. Barry: I forget. Yeah, there's 12 people. But we got a big old house. Jen: That'll be fun though. That'll be a good time. Shaun: Thirteen's an unlucky number, so I get it. And I know that's what I'm saying. Thirteen's an unlucky number. Barry: Now we're at 12. I think we might even be at 11. I don't remember. Jen: you Barry: Somewhere around there. Shaun: Speaking of being left out, Jen, Friday movie night. Jen: What do do? my goodness, cut it out. Barry: he did say he was going to talk about this. This was one thing I forgot. Jen: Again, if you want to come to our family Friday night movie nights, you Shaun: Tradition that's Jen: absolutely can. Shaun: I mean Barry: Okay, so how do you pick a movie? Like, how did this all start? Jen: It kind of just depends. Well, it started with just our family us as a family unit We have Barry: Mm-hmm. Jen: moved we watch movies every Friday night to kind of wind down together from the week. So it's Every week every week. Yes. Yes, we do every week Yep, mm-hmm every week Yep, so that was our way of like Barry: Y'all do it every week. Y'all are coming. That's a big commitment. I would not probably follow. Shaun: I mean that's that's old school though. Like you when you used to go to like Blockbuster and get a movie and like you watch it as a family, like yeah. Yeah. Barry: Yeah, I used to go get video games to lock myself in my room and just play Sega. Jen: winding down from the week, having a moment as a family. Every week we pick a movie and we watch it. And then just some of our friends, I know, right? While they want to hang out with me. Exactly. I know. Barry: Very cute. Enjoy while it lasts, Jen. Yo, it's coming. Just be ready. Jen: I know it. So I'm trying to hold on to it for as long as I can. Barry: Hold on, enjoy it. Jen: But anyway, so some of our friends who have two even younger kids, they are... They, don't even know what started it. We started just having like dinners once a week with them and then somehow it morphed into, we do Friday night movie nights with them. then sometimes we're here, sometimes we're there. We usually try to like flip back and forth, but Shaun: Yeah. Jen: yes. Barry: Sean's super jealous. He's jealous. Shaun: I still I'm not jealous. Jen: You can come over anytime, any Friday night. I will say it is kid movies. It is not Shaun: Yeah. Jen: adult movies. Barry: They're still good. Jen: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Although this past Shaun: They are. There's Jen: one was the pout pout fish. It's a new one on Prime. Shaun: Metri, I don't know. Barry: What? Pout pout fish? Jen: Yeah. It's a book. It's like a kid's book. Pout. I think that's what it was called. Pout pout fish. It's on Prime. Barry: Never heard of it. Jen: It's a new one on Prime. But yeah. Barry: Like CGI, cartoon. Jen: Yeah. It's like a cartoon. Or it is a cartoon. I don't know why it's like a cartoon, but yeah, it's cute. Barry: Interesting. Shaun: I'll look it up on Prime. I have Prime. I can just look it up on Prime. I can watch it myself. Jen: Yeah. Barry: How about this? Sounds real weird. Jen: I mean, was, was cute, Shaun: Mm. Jen: but it is kid movies every time. So proceed Shaun: Right. Jen: with caution, but you're always invited anytime. Shaun: Well thank you. I appreciate it. Barry: It's very nice, Jim. Okay, speaking of movies, Shaun: That's great. Barry: today, I Jen: Brrr. Barry: started watching a movie. Yeah, and y'all know Shaun: Dude. Barry: me and how y'all think I'm crazy how we start and just like pause it and come back a couple days later. So I'm like, Jen: That's insane. Shaun: I feel like you're about to piss me off with this movie that you're about Jen: Bye. Shaun: to say. What are you about to say? Barry: So I started watching Obsession. I'm probably like... Shaun: my Jen: Okay, Shaun: god, dude. Jen: it down though, because why do I not under, I don't know what this is. What is obsession? Who's in it? What's the premise? Barry: 30 minutes in. Shaun: Twenty minutes! Barry: Okay, so I don't, I've only heard, I haven't really looked into it, but I feel like it's a YouTuber. And he Jen: Okay. Barry: got, but I heard they didn't get, like it was such a small budget, but it's Jen: I need to look this up. Barry: made a lot of money. But I'm not a hundred percent sure. It is the same. Shaun: Yeah. Jen, you've seen him before. He's the blonde guy. Like he's kinda got like the short blonde hair. He does like funny skits and videos and stuff. Barry: And I think, yeah, he was a comedy guy, but then he wanted to do a horror, or like, guess you call it horror. It's like a, yeah, suspenseful. Shaun: Yeah. Like a darker movie. Yeah. Barry: I'm not really, I'm not far enough into like, but I do have an opinion on it. And Jen: I have no clue who this guy is. Barry: okay, so Jen the back, do you want to know the plot without me giving away too much? Jen: Yeah, go ahead. Barry: So the plot is, this dude, and he's in a front group, I'm assuming early 20s, maybe mid Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: 20s, but he likes one of the girls in the front group. Jen: Okay. Barry: I believe they all went to high school, I might be wrong in that, but I think they did. Jen: came. Barry: So there's another girl in the same front group who likes the dude who likes the other chick, right? Jen: Oooo likes the girl. Oooo. Barry: I think the main girl is Nikki, Jen: Spicy. Barry: the girl that she or he likes, but the girl that likes him is named Sarah, I believe. Don't quote me on that. Shaun: This is what happens when you watch thirty minutes of a movie and turn it off. Jen: Okay. And then pass and come back to. Barry: No, this is literally the intro plot. Like, this is how you set up the movie. I Jen: You Barry: have it fresh. But I don't remember names like that in these things. I don't know why. Jen: You Barry: so they, you know, that's kind of going on. He's going through some life events. Like he lost his grandmother. Shaun: No, no, that that. Barry: No, this is all like it's all at the beginning. Yeah. Jen: If you learn it quickly, Shaun: No, Jen: then you're not spoiling anything. Shaun: but I still want to watch it. Barry: okay. Okay, he's going through life events. The Sean's doesn't want to hear the life events that he's going through. But Jen: Roll it back, roll it back. Barry: there's this trinket. I don't want to say what it is because Sean wants to watch it. There's a trinket of some kind that has Jen: Don't, yeah, obviously don't. Okay. Shaun: Yeah, yes. Barry: some kind of power, magical powers. Jen: Okay. Barry: and he could have voided the whole situation if he would have just told his girl that he likes her. And she literally asks him point blank, yo, do you like me? And he bitches out and he's like, no, we're great friends. And then he uses the trinket Jen: Ew. Barry: to make magic happen and that's when everything goes south. Jen: Interesting, okay. Barry: So that's my annoyance with it. like, I mean... Jen: Yeah, I already don't like it, but okay. Barry: Like really that was the whole premise. guess it's like maybe it's a deeper meaning Jen: Okay. Barry: like, you know, you should learn that you got to say what you need to say. I don't know. Shaun: But I mean, even Jen: Hmm. Shaun: if you think about it though, like when when you're at that age, like that college age, you're trying to figure out your life, you're trying to get into it, but there's a difference. Nah. Barry: I don't know bro I shot my shot as much as I... Yo that's the Jen: But yeah, and if somebody point blank asks you, I feel like, Barry: perfect chance. Jen: why would you not take, yeah. Shaun: There's there's a difference between shooting your shot and Barry: Again be honest with these people bro. Shaun: like this chick that you are actually like feeling. I I feel like that's very different. Jen: Mm-mm. Barry: Yo, if I like her and she literally asked me point blank if they like me, I'm going to be honest. Why would I play games? Jen: Yeah, I get the nerves of like not wanting to be Shaun: Yeah, I don't know. Jen: the first one to say it because you don't know how they'll receive it or whatever. Barry: I I don't know. Jen: But if they're coming to me and asking me, hey, do you have feelings for me? Like, yeah. Shaun: That's that's straight up when they're gonna run to the group chat and be like, guess what I just found out and like ba da da ba da da da Like it's just gonna happen. Jen: then you don't want that anyways. Barry: Okay, I was gonna say if that's how she got then show me your true colors so we can Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: call this what it is to move on Shaun: I don't know. I get it. I get it, dog. I I understand why you did it. I understand Jen: Mm-mm. Shaun: why you why you cast a spell. But no, I Jen: Absolutely not. Shaun: haven't seen it yet. What did you what'd you say, Ton? Barry: It's on Peacock. Shaun: On pe okay, I'm peacock. Yeah. Barry: You have peacock now. Shaun: I do have peacock now. Hey. Because of Love Island, I have peacock now. Yes. Barry: right but so Jen: Cause love Island. Barry: yeah I don't know I'm gonna finish it cuz I don't know I will always finish the movie even if I don't really like it I at least want to but you might have to rent it on Prime it's free on Peacock it's free on Jen: It also says it's on prime, so you might be able to find it on prime. You might have to. Shaun: I think yeah, I think it's for rent on Prime. Yeah. Barry: Peacock Shaun: Yeah. I'll just rent I'll watch it on Peacock. I'll watch it when we finish Barry: So, Shaun: here. Barry: yeah. Go on to bed while we finish here. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: I gotta pet. Shaun: God, you still haven't yet. I figured I told Gary, I was like, she probably hasn't gotten everything done yet. Yeah. Jen: Most of it's packed, but no, most of it's done. Just not all of it. Shaun: Yeah. Well definitely gonna watch that. Barry: So Sean's coming to the next family movie night. Jen: Come on, Ogesha. Bring snacks. Shaun: I'm not coming to the next family movie night. Barry: I think he's gonna be there. Shaun: I know that I'm not family. I get it. I'm not hurt. It's okay. Jen: Not what I said at all. I'm pretty sure I said your family come on over when you want Shaun: I know, I get it. But it'll be okay. Jen: Just saying. Shaun: I'll start my own family movie night. Me and Ace. He'll he'll be he'll get on the couch once a week. Jen: She went ace. Here's some popcorn, buddy. Barry: UNAs, UNAs Shaun: He's allowed on the couch once a week for a family movie night. man. But Barry: plastic wrap out bro. Get the plastic wrap out. Jen: Right? Shaun: no. So I do I wanna ask you all something. This way left turn out of no out of nowhere. I don't know. But I want to ask y'all something because I saw something the other day. we all know like I've kind of converted to the Apple world. Barry: Huh. Shaun: dude, Apple's great. It's superior to I will Barry: It's not though. Shaun: I will say at this at this point, I you know I was a Samsung guy through and through, like loved it so much. I will say I like I like Apple quality. Apple has really good quality. Samsung Jen: But once you convert, you can't go back. Mm-hmm. They do. Shaun: has the innovation, they are Jen: For sure. Shaun: way ahead of the curve. When you think Jen: For sure. Shaun: of like doing new things, trying things that are different, they are so far ahead. But Apple, I don't know, just Apple quality is like really started to lock me in. But they introduce something and I want to get y'all's opinion on it because I think that it's kind of the wave of the future. And I don't know how I feel about it. But they have started to introduce something to where whenever you decide that you want to upgrade, it's called it's literally called Apple upgrade. And the point of it is you can essentially lease a device and then upgrade it in a few years. Which is what we already do with cell phones for the most part. Like you get your cell phone, you pay it monthly through your provider. Barry: mean, you pay a monthly, yeah, yeah, yeah. Jen: Mm-hmm. So like for their Macs and stuff? Shaun: Yeah. For like the MacBooks, for the Mac minis, or not the Mac minis, the Mac Pro iPads. No, I'm just saying I feel like that's where consumerism is going at this point. Barry: I mean, this is going to be a y'all conversation because I have zero opinions. would I do it? Would I lease? I don't know if I would trade. Jen: Yeah. I don't know, I'm just not a big leaser, yeah. Barry: I want to own it. Yeah, Shaun: Right? Barry: I want to. Shaun: I feel like that's the thing. Jen: Because after the lease, can they take it back for whatever reason? Or like, do I up my lease again? Or what does that look like? Shaun: Well, you basically you can it's it's like a car lease. Barry: Yeah, what is the... Shaun: It's like you you have it, you can buy it. Barry: But how long is it for? Shaun: I think it's you can do either two years or three years. Barry: And then what do you pay on a monthly basis? Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: It depends on the device. It depends on the device, like what the specs of it are. Jen: I'm just not big on monthly Barry: phones are as Jen: payments like that. Barry: ex... yeah I mean we usually unless we get it phoned for free like we did this last time we're usually paying monthly Shaun: Do y'all think that's where it's gonna start going with everything now? Because if you think about subscription we're subscription based on everything. Right? Yeah. Jen: Probably, probably. I mean, it really is. Barry: Yes, that's that's how they get the most money bro subscriptions. That's it. That's what everything's Jen: Yep. Barry: turning to music like devices. I mean you buy now pay later. It's all a subscription. Life is a subscription bro. It's crazy. Yeah. yeah, the extra you pay extra monthly. Jen: Yeah. Yeah. Even like kitchen appliances have subscriptions now. Yeah. Yep. Shaun: But where does the Yeah. Like even with your car, like if you want to have like all of the features that you buy with your car, you have to pay a subscription for it. It's Jen: Yep. Yep. Shaun: like where does it where do you all think that it stops? Barry: It won't. No. Yeah, it will. Jen: I don't think it does, yeah. Yeah. Shaun: Really? Jen: I think eventually everything will turn into some sort of subscription type thing. Barry: struggle bro. Yeah. We won't have ownership over anything soon enough bro. I Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: really believe that. I mean we really don't. Shaun: Well and and that's what I was getting Jen: Amen. Shaun: at. Do you think at some point that's also gonna say, do you think at some point that home ownership because home ownership is on the decline right now, because a lot of people can't afford it. Barry: I own my home but do I really I'm paying a bank for 30 years? Yo, yo my brother's Jen: But do you? Barry: generation 10 years younger than 10 years Shaun: Yeah. Barry: younger than me what like five years younger than y'all. They're Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: not looking at homeownership. can't afford it. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Yeah. 100%. Barry: Like in art, like millennials, weird, like a lot of first home buyers as millennials are doing it in their 40s, like now. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm. And it's not getting any better. Like rates are still going up, cost of living's going up, like inflation's going up. Surely isn't, yeah. Shaun: Mm hmm. Trying to save up as much you can to get into it. Exactly. Barry: It's not getting any better. The housing, yo, yeah. And our income ain't going up like all these other things aren't. Shaun: Yeah. So that's I'm like I mean, it's Barry: So it's only getting harder, bro. Shaun: I'm 'cause Jen: Yeah. Shaun: I'm on the same like side as you all. Like I don't want to I don't want to rent or lease a a consumer electronic because Jen: Rent something. Yeah. Barry: No. No. No. Shaun: if I tend to be rough on things. You all saw that today. I got water in my freaking phone today. Like Barry: Well, you did dip it in the water and like, well, yeah. Jen: I mean, you weren't like, brrrr-woop, bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl-bl Shaun: Because I was trying to cool it off. We were in the sun. But yeah, I'm kind of rough on those types of things. So if I wanna if I'm Barry: Jesus. Shaun: gonna break it, like have that on SP on me. Like I don't wanna have to like tiptoe Barry: Yeah, I'll be fine. Or give me a warranty or something. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: around with something and like take care of it. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: But that just makes me think of like the way that it's gonna go. Like, is car financing gonna end up going away? Is home ownership gonna end up going away? Yeah. That's like I feel like all of those are gonna be end up going away at some point. Barry: it is, Yo, car financing is crazy nowadays. The cost of new cars is nuts. Jen: is insane. Yeah. Barry: We're not going to be able to afford to buy these things anymore, Jen: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: Like I'm not going to go out and buy a $60,000 brand new car. I can't afford that. I can't. Shaun: Right. Well, like I've even seen like some people like with like the ability to like access your check early to where you can get your check. Barry: You gotta pay for it now? Shaun: Well, it's basically like you can get your check early and then once your check comes, they just take that money out of your check. Like I see those commercials Barry: no, then you're just... Jen: That seems like Shaun: all of the time. Barry: That's horrible. Jen: scam central. What? Shaun: Right. It seems like okay, well, we're just gonna take your money and then all of a sudden we're just gonna go out of business, we're just gonna disappear. Barry: Nah bro... What the fuck? Yeah, no... Jen: Yeah, and they're probably going to charge you like insane amounts Barry: Yeah... Jen: just to have immediate access to your money so that you can get a tiny portion now. I mean, that is true. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Barry: No, but I mean when people are hard up, bro, that's the thing. It's a cycle, man. It's it's crazy. Shaun: Yeah. Yeah. And it's Jen: But honestly, mean, ooh, this might be a ball take Barry: Tell us. Shaun: Okay. Jen: because I feel like in my life and my experiences, I think in my Barry: in your humble opinion, Jun. Jen: humble opinion, with our system the way it is. And I think that there are so many things I could say about this. But I do feel like when you are in real poverty level, it's hard, obviously. But there are a lot of systems and things and places out there that you can get things. There's this Shaun: yeah. Jen: weird middle ground in between middle class, where you can actually afford to live, and poverty, where you're just not poor enough, but Barry: you're just in a cycle. Jen: you're not rich enough to be making it and I feel like we were stuck there for a little bit Barry: Get out of debt. Jen: of just like struggle. Shaun: yeah. Jen: Let's it's okay. We'll be fine But Shaun: Paycheck to paycheck, yeah. Jen: yeah, and that is like the worst place to be and Shaun: Yeah. Jen: I know so many people that have been like well Why would I want to be stuck here? I'll just stay over here and not get a job and just do this or whatever Shaun: Yeah. Jen: and I feel like that's what causes a cycle of people thinking well Why do my why do we need these things for these people that don't want to work in both when that's not Shaun: Yeah. Jen: the majority it's just If you get to this point, you can't, you're stuck here. It's very hard to get out of that. Barry: But I feel like that percentage of people is growing in our current situation, where Jen: of people that are just like, whatever. Shaun: Mm. Barry: people have to put things on credit just to get by. So I feel Shaun: Yeah. Jen: yes. Yeah, 100%. Barry: like that is going to become a lot more people's reality. Jen: Reality. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: 100%. Barry: because we're just trying to get by and we don't have what we need. Yeah. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: Mm-hmm. And it we're at such a fragile point right now. Like we're at such a fragile point in society right now, with like who is able to sustain the lives that they have. Like if something does go wrong or if something Jen: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Barry: Yeah. Bro. Shaun: like doesn't work out exactly as planned, like how Jen: Yeah. How hard is that hitting you? Shaun: yeah. Like what's gonna happen from there? Jen: Yeah. Barry: I lied bro. Shaun: And like that's what that's what this like kicked up for me. It's like the fact that they are making it I I get that it's accessibility. Like it's more accessible for more people because they're able to to get it. Barry: But it's not really. Jen: But it's accessibility, it's like predatory accessibility. Like I'm using your position to make more money off of you, you just don't realize it because it seems more accessible. Yeah. Yeah. Barry: It is. hmm. Well, and this is your only option to really do. It's Shaun: Exactly. It's Yeah. There you go. Yeah. Barry: just going to begin, but it is going to be a cycle because then you're to get into Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: that leasing cycle and you're never going to be able to get out. Jen: Yep, you're gonna be stuck in it. Shaun: Yeah. And it's like, where does it end? And I I want Barry: Sad to say bro, I don't think it is. Shaun: Well, I kinda wanna go back to something that you mentioned in episode nine that we were talking about. I I think that we were on I don't know if we were actually recording then or not, but when we were talking about we were with the Kardashians and like talking about like Barry: Mm. Jen: mm-hmm. Shaun: the the things that they've done like on social media and like how they've been so influential. was that what was that after? well, there you go. Y'all Barry: No, that was after we didn't talk about them. That was in our after chat. Yeah. Jen: Yeah, I don't think that that was on. Shaun: just got a sneak peek. But but Jen: You Shaun: like with social media, I think that that's where a lot of this is Barry: bro. Shaun: coming from because Jen: Yeah. Shaun: people want to live this certain lifestyle that they see on social media. So companies are shifting to where they're making it accessible for people to be able to do it and to have the appearances that they're doing things like yeah, just go lease that Jaguar, just go Jen: based on. Barry: That's not realistic. yeah bro. We'll give you that. We'll try and give it to you. Yeah, just lease it. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: lease that that iPhone or that MacBook or whatever it is that you want. And then they're it's like perpetual debt that people are in and can't get out of it. Yeah. Jen: Yep. Exactly. And then you're drowning in monthly payments, and that's why you live Barry: It is. That's exactly what it Jen: paycheck to paycheck, because now you're drowning in monthly payments. Barry: Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. So I don't know. That was just something that I saw and I like, I wanna get their opinion on it and see what you all think about that because yeah. Barry: I know, it's horrible. Jen: Mm-mm. I agree with Mary. I think it is very much going that way. Like, doesn't shock me at all. Barry: But I think that's where people are Shaun: Mm. Barry: having to go because they can't afford to outright own anything. Like you said, Jen: afford it. Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: people can't afford homes and like the jobs that we, know, like the cost of living compared to what like the seventies and eighties and what it is now, like. Shaun: Well, let's Jen: Yeah. Barry: Job Shaun: see. Barry: growth is like 10%, like actual Shaun: Yeah. Barry: when you compare it to inflation and all that good stuff. Income levels have only raised like 10 % for the middle class. The cost of homes has gone up like 400%, bro. Like, there's a huge gap in that. That math, dough math. It's insane. Jen: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Kenny was just talking to a client of his, and Shaun: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Jen: they were like, we only paid $75,000 for this house. And he was like, yeah, when did you buy that? And what is it worth now? Because exactly, if you are that, Barry: in 1980 bro now it's worth 500 000 Shaun: Yeah. Jen: like you need to take your hand out of the sand if you think that that is like what people are going to be buying houses for these days. Barry: No. Shaun: Yeah. Not even close. Barry: Not anywhere close. Jen: Yeah, no. Shaun: Especially in this area. Yeah. If if you're lucky, your car can cost you that much. Jen: You can buy a car for that much. Your car will cost you that much. If you're lucky, yeah. Barry: Yeah. Yo. Yeah, if you're gonna brand new ride, dude, those are $80,000, $90,000 cars now. It's insane. Like that's the thing to me, Jen: I was looking at Sequoias the other day and I was like, dang. Mm-hmm, mm-hmm. Yeah. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Barry: bro. That car used to be like 40,000. And now would Jen: Mm-hmm. Yep. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: they expect us to pay 80,000 for it? Like when, why? Shaun: Well and that's thing, like and even you can even get a higher trim level that has like all of the bells and whistles, but that's when that's when they kick in the subscriptions. And it's like, Yeah, and you have to pay for it. So not only are you paying the car note, but you're paying the insurance and you have to pay the subscription to have it. Barry: the all the platinum and all that. You get the subscription, you got to get the Wi Fi subscription in your car so you can hook up to it. And yeah. Yo, that's what I don't understand, bro. I don't understand how people Jen: That's when it. Yep. Yep. Barry: like have brand new cars in these big homes. I'm like, what? How are y'all just amazing Jen: What do you do? What are you? Barry: with money? Are you just going into unfathomable amounts of debt? Just like saying screw Shaun: And that's what I'm saying. Jen: Yeah. Barry: it? Like what? How do you afford to live that way? Shaun: Some people can Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: afford it. Some people have the means to afford it. Barry: I don't understand how bro Shaun: But there I I think there are a lot of people that are just trying to have the appearance of it. Like no, like we're successful, we're doing this. Jen: Yeah, 100%. I think there's so many people out there just trying to have the Barry: I don't get it. I Jen: appearance. Barry: feel like I'm decent with money, but I definitely could use more of it. We don't have no Shaun: absolutely. Jen: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Barry: brand new rides and none of that stuff, man. Shaun: I pay my mortgage today. I was like, that hurt. Yeah, it's the first of the month. Jen: Oof, it hurts every time. Every time. Barry: it hurts every month, Shaun: I was like, like I knew this was coming, but I had to do it. Jen: Kenny and I were just not to toot our horns as we're talking about the struggle, but I feel like this is the biggest adult win is like the moment when you do get financially stable enough that you can put all your bills on auto pay and just not even look at them. It's like, wow, this is a magical experience. Yeah. Shaun: yeah. I can breathe. Yeah. Those are the beautiful things, like being able to get to that point and have everything just flow and not stress or worry about it. But I think that there are some people that do that that probably shouldn't do that. Barry: Yo, I still stress about money. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: But I'm the person that, I'm the one that worries about it for, I do all the money for us, so. Shaun: Yeah. Same. I do all the money for my household too. Ace doesn't really help out very much in that market, but he's a he's a good guard Barry: Yeah. Shaun: dog. Barry: He earns his keep. He brings his value. Shaun: Mm. I don't I don't know about bringing value, but Jen: He hurts his teeth. Shaun: Yeah, he earns a ski. He earns a a bed and some food every once in a while. But yeah, all right, cool. I just wanted to check on that with you guys and see like how you felt about it. What your thoughts were. Yeah. But there Barry: crazy times. Shaun: Yeah. Speaking of crazy times too, I mean that's a that's a great point. There's something that's going on with FIFA and UEFA, right? Or there's something that's happening Jen: Okay. Shaun: with the leagues. Like what's what's all of that about? Jen: Yes, Barry: I mean, talk about greed and capitalism at its finest. Jen: quite literally. I should have known as soon as they said they were going to have the World Cup here that some shady mess was going to happen Shaun: I don't know. Jen: as a result. Barry: It's crazy, bro. Jen: So the FIFA president has apparently come up with this business deal to give, is it stock in or? Shaun: god. Barry: I it's like, I want to, I have it. I was going to say it's ownership to a capacity. Jen: ownership of some sort. It's ownership of some sort. Barry: To me, what it sounds like is they're literally going to take one. I don't know if you heard this either Sean there. I don't think it's like a maybe like he, sounds like it's going to happen next. World cup is going to host 64 teams. Shaun: Really? Jen: That's wild. Barry: That's what I've read and heard. I don't know if it's for sure, Jen: I have not seen that. Barry: but I'm pretty. You know, I don't. But so this Shaun: Is this gonna be like a two month long World Cup or something? Jen: Yeah, like what at this point, what's the- Barry: is my this is my takeaway, and I haven't really read into it. But yes, I've heard the same thing. Ownership is what they're selling. Like you can spend 20 million dollars and you get ownership in the World Cup. To me, it pretty much sounds like they're going to sell off games and rounds. And so they can pretty Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: much say this is so and so hosting the Jen: Yeah. Barry: this the stage or whatever it is, the group Jen: the match. Barry: this. Yeah. So they're pretty much going to sell off as much of the sponsorship as they can to these. And I don't know if it's individual. I haven't really read how Shaun: Yeah. Barry: deep it goes, but yeah, it's they're literally just trying to. Grift money off of it. Jen: make money off of it. The biggest controversy that I've seen is there's a large piece apparently being sold to a company that the Kushner family is involved in, which the Kushner family is very close to certain people. And Barry: I did see that part of it too. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Barry: Yeah. Jen: it's very controversial, but the even more crazy part to this is yes, the happening of it. The fact that this is even a conversation is wild, but. All of UEFA. So UEFA is all of the European teams and leagues. It's a huge, it's like 55 teams. Yes. That's 90 % of your top players. Huge. Yeah. But every Barry: It's big chunk of the, and they're the better teams. It's then they're all the better teams. That's where Spain plays, isn't it? Like that's where all the big countries are. Shaun: Yeah. Yeah. Those are the big clubs, yeah. Jen: single one of the clubs in UEFA all signed a... thing and sent it to them and said, if you do this, we will not be participating in your FIFA tournaments, any at all. So Shaun: Mm. Good. Jen: that would be insane if this truly does happen and they don't. Barry: Yo, they try and host a tournament without the UEFA groups? Jen: That's insane. You could never. Shaun: Well yeah, they wouldn't it would be unsuccessful. Barry: It will be a huge unsuccessful. Jen: 100%. Huge loss. Yeah. Shaun: So is it that they are trying to what's the ultimate goal that they are putting out there that they're trying to accomplish? Jen: I couldn't even tell you. Barry: Again, I haven't read up on it enough to know. I'm assuming they're going to try and Shaun: Because they're so protective of Barry: paint it as if they're trying to grow the game more and include more countries. But, you know, they're just out here trying to make money. 100 percent it did this year. Shaun: But that waters down your tournament. Like if yeah. Jen: Exactly. Yeah. Shaun: That's the whole that's the whole situation with the NCAA and talking about adding more teams and doing all that other stuff. It waters it down. Yeah. Barry: to the college football player. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: I mean, the crazy thing about it it from me, like learning about this and just like hearing y'all talk about it, they're so protective of the FIFA branding whenever the World Cup comes around with how they like cover different signs and Jen: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Shaun: They are like taking down specific areas or parts of cities and stadiums. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: But now they're gonna plan on essentially commercializing it to where it's and anyone can Barry: Well, now they can control and offer all that. They can sell all that. Jen: Yes, exactly. Barry: Now you're Shaun: What would that thing? Barry: not having to worry about covering up. You're going to sell it off and you're going to give it to whoever wants to pay you the money for it. Shaun: Yeah. Hmm. Barry: So if you're a sponsor for places, yeah, well, we don't care. We're going to have our own sponsorships. They're going to cover yours. Shaun: Yeah. Yeah, I don't like it. Barry: All right, from what I've read and heard, it sounds just straight up horrible. Like you said, it's gonna Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Yeah. Barry: water it down. It's literally just gonna make it so commercialized. And if UEFA follows through, then they're not gonna have any talent. Shaun: I feel the only way that they could do Jen: Yeah. Shaun: that is if there's some kind of sanction that they can put on UEFA if they don't join into it. Barry: I don't know. Like I say, I really don't know the depths of it like that. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: I will say I haven't pulled up right now and it sounds like they may have officially scrapped it because of the pushback that they received. Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: Really? Well, that's good news. Hopefully. Shaun: That would be good. It it Jen: It was a 20 billion World Cup sell-off plan. Barry: That's what I was, yeah, that's where I got the Tony from. Shaun: That's crazy. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: I mean it sounds like there was just somebody who got into their ear talking about how Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: they could make it more make it more Barry: monetize all of it. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: profitable for them and how they can really make it pop. But Jen: Yeah. Shaun: again, if you if you want to pay homage to the sport itself that you are hosting and that you are the name of when it comes to that sport, you can't do stuff like that. Barry: Well, FIFA Jen: Yeah. Barry: has been FIFA has been this way for while. FIFA has always been a little corrupt. Like they've taken Shaun: But I'm s I'm saying like well, yeah. I I feel like all leagues are corrupt. Jen: for sure. Barry: payments Jen: Yeah. Barry: to like hosts like what the last one in Qatar was a big uproar because they were like, how did they get it? And it's the middle of the summer, under 20 degrees. Like, what are we talking about? And they, yeah, yeah, there was a lot of issues with the Qatari. Shaun: Yeah. There's not a single lead that's out there that's not corrupt. Jen: For sure. No. There was. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. And the labor that they use, and there were lot of concerns about that. Mm-hmm. Shaun: Yeah. I mean look what yeah. Yeah. Jen: Yeah. But still did it. Shaun: Hm. I mean, it is what it is. It's Barry: World Cup. That's Shaun: it's business and that's what they're trying to do. Barry: what I say, FIFA don't care. going to, they Jen: No. Barry: just still ride out like, whatever. Shaun: Yeah. I mean, even with like the PGA tour and live, like what they went through, like that's that's what ends up happening. It's like you you wanna put these different pieces in. Yeah. Barry: Yo, I don't know. I'm so 50 50 on that one though. You okay, so this is how I look at it. Somebody came to you, bro, and said, yo, you can do the same job you're doing now. You can wear this. So you only Shaun: I'm going to live, yes. Barry: gotta wear pants no more. You can wear shorts and Shaun: Yes. Barry: just show up and have a good time. And we're gonna offer you 400 million just to show up. Then you can make more money on top of that. Shaun: Yes. Yes. Barry: Who I mean, Shaun: Say less. I'm I'm there. Jen: I don't Barry: So I'm like, I could see how, why would, mean, that's generational money, bro. Shaun: Yeah. Yeah. Jen: Yeah. Barry: To do the same job you're doing. I don't know. Shaun: But that's what I'm saying. Like these leagues don't care. Like they don't care about you. At the end of the day, you are a commodity that they will use. They when they're done with you, they're done. It's the same Jen: Yeah, a pawn. Mm-hmm. Yep. Barry: it's all a business. Yes, yes. Shaun: way in every single sport across the board. So it's like you have to do what you do for yourself. That's where it's like where people start to talk about. Yeah. Where people start to talk about taking Barry: Yeah, it is just a bunch of rich folk. Mm hmm. That's exhausting. Get your bag, bro. Go get your bag. Jen: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Shaun: hometown discounts and stuff like that. Yeah, it sounds great in theory, but Barry: How many times does that really pay Jen: Yeah. Barry: off for that person? Shaun: Exactly. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: If you don't end up getting that ring, if you don't end up holding that trophy at the end of it. Barry: Only one I could think that it worked for was Brunson like kudos for Tim for that it worked for him. True. Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. I mean it w it worked for Brady pretty well. It worked pretty well for Brady. But yeah, I don't know. I I'm so torn on those types of things. Good. We don't feel it if they decided not to do it. Barry: That's why I say I'm 50 for the I see both sides. I see like, you know, staying loyal to the PGA and like they they're who built your career. But. Same time, once I get old enough and I'm not Jen: at the end of the day. Yeah. Barry: producing for the PGA anymore, guess what? They're going to ship me off to the senior tour and I'm Shaun: Exactly. Barry: not going to matter to them anymore. So I don't know, like same thing in the NBA, Shaun: Mm-hmm. And they will not put another dollar. Jen: Yeah. Barry: bro. Go make your money, go play for you want to play for. could care less. Go get your money, bro. Go get your money. Shaun: Yeah. Just like Braun. Just Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: like Braun, make that decision, do what you do, take your time. Barry: But now, the dramatics in that bro, we ain't ever gonna agree on that, the dramatics Jen: The drama. Barry: of it all. Yo. Shaun: It's not. It's not even I f okay, so here here's my thing with it. Barry: Come on. Shaun: I don't I don't feel that he made it dramatic. I feel I feel like Rich Paul was one going out there doing Jen: you Shaun: all the shows talking about it. He made it dramatic. How often did you hear Ron talk about it? Barry: He went to that one that the fan fest or whatever it was, was Shaun: He went to that one. Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: out there talking to Tyrese Halliburton. Shaun: Tyrus Halliburton, yeah, he went to that one. When when else did you hear him talk about it? Barry: I mean, that's the only one I know of. But bro, don't tell me he doesn't know what Rich Paul's out here doing. Exactly, so just because he ain't the one saying that he knows it's happening, Come on. Shaun: Yeah. So I'm saying I don't feel like he made it a big spectacle. He knows what Richball's doing, of course. Yeah. Of course he knows what he's doing. But but I feel like it's also the league because you even heard Adam Silver talking about it. And like him talking about like we can't we can't make the the Christmas schedule until we know where you're gonna go. Barry: he was bitching about it. Yes, exactly. We tired of waiting on you, bro. Make a decision so we can make the damn Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: It's not on him. I Barry: so we can make the damn schedule. Shaun: I don't think that that's on him. I think that he is clear of that. Because it just shows that he is relevant. Barry: There you Shaun: He is still he is still even though people are trying to push Barry: hell out of that attention. Shaun: him out, he is still the face of the league. If you can't schedule if you can't schedule your biggest day in the league without him, he's Barry: I don't think he's the faith of the league no more. He's still very important to the league. He's not the face of the league no more, bro. Shaun: still the face. Barry: No, you just loving your man. Jen: So who do you think is the next bra then? Who do you think is the face of the league? Shaun: There's not one. Jen: Yeah, because even from outside, Barry: If I had a Jen: I'm not super into it like y'all are. So Shaun: Yeah. Jen: I only get kind of pieces from y'all. But I will say, I don't think, besides Wembee right now, I haven't heard another name with that type of level. Barry: I was gonna say that's... Why not? Shaun: It can't be Wimby, though. He's very acr across the league, of course. We live in Central Texas, so it's a different story. But across the league, he's not well liked at all. Which means Barry: I don't know. Shaun: that he's not marketable on a mass scale for the NBA. The only reason Barry: man. Shaun: it worked for LeBron to be kind of villainized is because he was able to be a really good. good story at the beginning before he became the villain. He essentially turned heel if you if you think of it in like WWE terms. He kind of turned heel when he went to Miami. Yeah. And that's where Barry: a little bit, yes. That, he... Jen: Hmm. Shaun: you saw the big switch happen in the NBA where people were like, well, forget him. Barry: again the dramatics of what he did. Jen: The drama. There it is again. Shaun: Which well able to do that. Barry: the dramatics and you were only okay with it he went to your team. So Shaun: He didn't go to team this time. Yeah. I still feel like Barry: no, I know I'm talking about the first time bro. Decision 1.0 Jen: before. Shaun: I still feel like the Aaron Donald saga is worse than LeBron. And the reason why. I Barry: I don't keep up with that one. Shaun: know, but still I f I feel like that's been going on longer. And the NFL season starts before the NBA season does. So they're like up against the wire. He's still made a decision. Barry: But there's a lot going around about it. I just know it was mentioned. I don't even think like I don't. I've only seen one thing about it Shaun: I feel like I see something about it every day. There's something floating around about him. Barry: recently. No, I think it was today. Like they said, there's no updates or something like that. No, no, Shaun: Yeah. So I'm just saying lay off lay off the king. Barry: I won't. Jen: He needs his rest. Shaun: Good. Yes. We we need people like that still in the league. Barry: my gosh. Shaun: Him and Steph only have a couple years left. Same with K D probably. He only has a couple years left. I I feel bad for Steph and K D though. Yeah. Barry: This is true. Yeah, KD too. Yeah, mean, yo, it's been over 20 some years almost for all of them, Shaun: I think Barry: Yeah, Steph's definitely not going to have the send off or he's Shaun: Yeah. Barry: not going to have the success at the end. Like I feel Bon probably has a good chance of. Shaun: Do you think he signs the extension? Barry: I mean if he's not gonna get traded that there's no reason not to man Like I said go get your bag, bro Shaun: Yeah. I mean they they needn't know Jen: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Barry: But there's nobody to go pay money for bro They Shaun: They could have. Barry: don't matter now could have should have would have Jen: I could have shared a word. Shaun: Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Like, so at this point, like knowing that they didn't, do you sign the extension? Yeah. Barry: He's going to be a lifer, bro. Give Jen: Yeah. Barry: him what? mean, I don't know. I don't feel like he's their golden boy. then if you ain't going to go make a team good around him, you better give him the money. Shaun: Yeah. That's what's it like I just I don't know. Barry: Give him the two years, let him ride out, get his last little big check and send them out on his way on top. Shaun: Yeah, I just don't I d I just don't get the loyalty for all of the reasons that we were just talking about with these leagues. Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: I feel like there's some that'll do it though. I feel like... Shaun: The leagues don't care about you. Some team owners are pretty good. They'll they'll take care of you. They take care of your family and stuff like that. Yeah. Barry: Yes, I'm saying I feel like he's done well for them and with them. So he'll be there. Jen: And like y'all said last time, his family's very ingrained in that area too, which is, he's a very big family guy too. So I'm sure that played a big, yeah, for sure. Yeah. Barry: They're very ingrained in that organization, in that city. Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. He made them relevant. Yeah. 'Cause they weren't for a very Barry: yeah, he did for sure. Yeah. So now for a very long time. Shoot before Shaun: long time. Yeah. Man. Barry: that they're only relevant like when Latros no, they had a little run with Baron Davis and them. They kind of when Shaun: Yeah. Barry: they were the member they were the eight seed and they knocked off the maps on the one scene the first that was probably like, before that was like when the tree well choked out being gunny and stuff. That was their relevance. Shaun: Exactly. That was on his way out. So he was like, whatever. Barry: Yeah, but that was a long time ago. But now, Shaun: Yeah. man. Barry: yeah, he definitely made him relevant again. But they Shaun: Yeah. Barry: still did clay wrong to me, bro. Like the way they. Shaun: I mean he he had a lot of injuries back to back. And look, I mean he hasn't done anything in Dallas. Barry: He was, he was definitely had, I mean, but to some say, at least give him some and keep him around and let him go out in the right Shaun: You think they bring him back so that they can all go out together? Him, Drain, Clay all go out together? Yeah. Barry: He'll do a one day contract and retire a warrior, bro. There's no way he doesn't. I don't know about that. Yeah. Shaun: I don't think they can all retire at the same time. 'Cause Clay's so much younger. But yeah. Barry: No. As Shaun: We'll see. Barry: I'm saying, I don't just don't think there's anybody that didn't need to go pay that they're just not going to be a good team this year. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: I mean, Butler's not going to be back till like February, All-Star break at the earliest, probably. Shaun: Who knows? Barry: Maybe because he tours stuff like right around the end of the season almost. Shaun: Yeah, feels later. Barry: So they got old Kristaps, they got old Horford. I mean, they'll produce, but they're on their way out too. They just got a whole bunch of dudes on their way out, Unfortunately. Maybe if they can stay healthy, if they can stay healthy, Jen: It's such a old man's... Shaun: They they might be a play in team. They might be a play in team. Yeah. Barry: they might be able to, bro. Shaun: If if they hit a streak at just the right time, it might work out. Barry: Maybe, maybe. Jen: Hmm Shaun: And and Braun's gone from the West now. Barry: No. Shaun: You got the you got the New Look Lakers over there, so Barry: The West is really going to go between KC and San Antonio now. I don't even think Denver's going to, they haven't done anything to get better. Yeah. No, I don't. think it really is down to them in the West now. Shaun: Yeah, they've kind of fallen off. They haven't really put anything around Jokic to keep it going and Murray hasn't been doing much of anything in the recent years. I'm honestly kind of intrigued. I'm just saying. I'm I'm looking to see what happens in the West. I think it's gonna be interesting this year. Barry: I just read the whole thing. Can't wait. Shaun: Yeah. Excited. It's gonna be a great season. He ain't got that stroke. Because he ain't got that stroke. Barry: and a shootout. Never that never that Sean. Never that bro. Jen: No. Shaun: You'll be able to see those types of things too. so be on the lookout for that. But in order for us to do this, we need your help. You can send them in through direct messages. We do check those, we will watch them. And see what kind of suggestions you all have. But throw them out there because we really want to get your your idea, your opinions. Barry: We want your opinion. Yeah? Shaun: And once we have a few of them out there, we're actually going to put a poll out. We'll put a poll out there Barry: Yeah. Shaun: and see like what wins. And if you suggest a win one, who knows? Maybe we have some swag that we might be able to get to you. Barry: Maybe. Shaun: Maybe. Jen: They're lying. We do.
