- 0:00We have another very interesting chapter ahead, chapter 32 from
- 0:06the book of Jeremiah. And so let's get started on this
- 0:09and remind ourselves why we read these Second Timothy 316.
- 0:15All Scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching,
- 0:19rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness so
- 0:24that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every
- 0:28good work and Romans chapter 10 verse 17.
- 0:34Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message and the
- 0:38message is heard through the word about Christ.
- 0:42Now in this chapter of Jeremiah I have seen actually I want to
- 0:48pray first. So dear Lord, please let the
- 0:54Holy Spirit reveal things to us, let us have understanding, open
- 0:58our eyes to what is in scripture.
- 1:01Please guide us in understanding you better and applying this I
- 1:07guess conceptually to our own lives so that we learn from
- 1:11this. Just as the purpose of scripture
- 1:14is described in Second Timothy. We ask this in Jesus name, Amen.
- 1:20Let's get started. Jeremiah buys a field.
- 1:24This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord in the
- 1:2810th year of Zedekiah, king of Judah, which was the 18th year
- 1:34of Nebuchadnezzar. So in the first sentence we find
- 1:39that there is a time frame of when this happened.
- 1:42And so I double checked this, I searched, you know, how long
- 1:46does Zedekiah rule? What were the years?
- 1:48And he ruled from 597 to 586. BCI did the same for
- 1:54Nebuchadnezzar. When did he rule?
- 1:56He ruled from six O 5 to 562 BC. So what is the difference in
- 2:02both of those years? If we look at 10 years later
- 2:08from Zedekiah starting in 597, we come up with 587 BC.
- 2:14If we take the 18th year of Nebuchadnezzar, which he started
- 2:19reigning in six O 5 and subtract the 18 years, then we will come
- 2:27to 587 BC. So these details Fact Check and
- 2:34we find the year that this happened in 587 BC.
- 2:38This isn't really significant to anything that's in the in the in
- 2:44the context, at least right now it isn't, but it's another way
- 2:48to Fact Check, which I think is really good.
- 2:51Now the second verse says the army of the king of Babylon was
- 2:55then besieging Jerusalem and Jeremiah the prophet was
- 2:59confined in the courtyard of the guard in the royal place of
- 3:05palace of Judah. So Zedekiah king of Judah, it
- 3:10says, Now Zedekiah king of Judah had imprisoned him there,
- 3:14saying, Why do you prophecy as you do?
- 3:17You say, this is what the Lord says, I am about to give the
- 3:20city into the hands of the king of Babylon, and he will capture
- 3:24it. Zedekiah, king of Judah will not
- 3:27escape the Babylonians, but will certainly be given into the
- 3:32hands of the king of the of Babylon and will speak with him
- 3:37face to face and see him with his own eyes.
- 3:41He will take Zedekiah to Babylon where he will remain until I
- 3:46deal with him, declares the Lord.
- 3:48If you fight against the Babylonians, you will not
- 3:52succeed. So this gives us a little bit of
- 3:55information. This is this is punishment that
- 3:59God is. It's a consequence of Judah's
- 4:04idolatry and their not listening to God and not doing what God
- 4:10commanded. And so God turns them over to
- 4:13the enemy. And God uses the enemy's will
- 4:17desires to accomplish his own purpose.
- 4:21That's how God can use people that are not submitted to him.
- 4:25The Babylonians want to do this on their own.
- 4:27That's their heart. That's their own personal
- 4:29desire. But God uses that personal
- 4:33desire to accomplish His purpose.
- 4:36And it says in Scripture that we read last chapter that God
- 4:39disciplines those he loves and He disciplines them and us so
- 4:46that for our good. So there is a he, you know,
- 4:50there is a benefit to submitting, surrendering to God
- 4:55and obeying Him. And there's a lot of resistance
- 5:00from them and from us today. In obedience to the Lord, we'd
- 5:04like to pick and choose what we want to obey.
- 5:07But in reality, if we choose and we agree with God, we come into
- 5:13agreement with him and say the things that you, that you ask us
- 5:18to do, that you command us to do are good things.
- 5:22And they are for the good of us. And they are protection for us
- 5:26as well. When we understand that, then we
- 5:30see that these are protective things.
- 5:33The the rules, the obedience that God is asking us for.
- 5:36This is to protect us, to make us ready and prepare us for the
- 5:42Kingdom of God. That's what it's about.
- 5:45Because God says be holy, because I am holy.
- 5:48So the people that will be in God's Kingdom will be holy
- 5:53because God cannot have sinfulness in his presence.
- 5:57I believe it just burns things away.
- 5:59I've said this before, or like God warned the people at Mount
- 6:02Sinai when he gave the 10 commandments that he said this
- 6:05ground is holy, you know, take off your shoes, don't let
- 6:07anything touch it because everything was sinful.
- 6:10All the people were sinful. He's like, don't let them touch
- 6:13it because they will, they will die if they touch it.
- 6:16So God is a protective God. It's kind of like a child.
- 6:21Say you have a gas stove and the child sees the fire, you know
- 6:26the flames, and wants to touch it because it looks pretty and
- 6:29they want to see what it's all about.
- 6:31As a parent, you're going to say no, no, no, you cannot touch
- 6:34that. You will get burned.
- 6:35That's like God with his children.
- 6:37It's like, no, no, no, you're not ready for that.
- 6:39You can't touch that. You're still children.
- 6:42You know, You don't know all of this that I'm trying to teach
- 6:45you. And so that's somewhat of an
- 6:48analogy of God and us as his children, God and the Israelites
- 6:53as his children, like he's a protective God.
- 6:56He's trying to keep us and them, them and us from harm.
- 7:01And after reading and studying the Bible, I realized that at
- 7:05first I resisted the obedience personally because I didn't like
- 7:10all of it and I was really set in my ways.
- 7:13But eventually, as it says in Scripture, when you read
- 7:16Scripture, it will convict you, not condemn.
- 7:20Condemn means sending you to hell.
- 7:22Well, it can if you don't change your ways.
- 7:25But it'll, it'll make you feel guilty, it'll make you feel
- 7:28ashamed when you understand it. And a lot of people when they
- 7:33get to those points in the Bible that personally speak to them,
- 7:38they're they cry. I know I cried.
- 7:41And I've heard men say this like really strong, brave men.
- 7:45There was like a man on Shawn Ryan's show who was, I think the
- 7:50one who actually got Osama bin Laden.
- 7:54And he when he had this experience at a camp, a
- 8:02Christian camp, he literally cried.
- 8:05But when he was first there, he was looking at these guys who
- 8:08were crying and he was like, gosh, you know, he had his, you
- 8:11know, his fleshly self saying, you know, they need to like
- 8:15basically put on the big boy pants and, you know, quit doing
- 8:19this stuff. Like what it what is going on
- 8:20with these people? Why are they crying?
- 8:22But then it happened to him and his life was changed as a result
- 8:26of that. So God humbles us when we seek
- 8:31him and and just being there, he had someone pray over him and he
- 8:35was moved by the Holy Spirit in that like the Holy Spirit can
- 8:39soften our heart, can make us or I guess help us to receive what
- 8:47God has to say and to know that whatever God commands comes from
- 8:52love and comes for our good. OK, let's go back to Scripture.
- 8:58Jeremiah said the word of the Lord came to me, Hannah now.
- 9:02So now this is interesting. Jeremiah has another word.
- 9:07So he's imprisoned. Zedekiah doesn't like what he's
- 9:11saying. And he's like, why are you
- 9:13saying this, Jeremiah? Why are you telling me that I'm
- 9:16going to be captured and all this like he didn't believe it
- 9:20and it did get fulfilled later. But then Jeremiah, he's just
- 9:25having these experiences with God.
- 9:27Even while he's imprisoned. There are things that are are
- 9:30while he's under observation. Whatever he's, he is, he's the
- 9:35Lord is speaking to him. So again, the Lord speaks to
- 9:39him. The word of the Lord came to me,
- 9:43Hannah Mel, son of Shalom, your uncle is going to come to you
- 9:48and say, buy my field at Anathoth, because as nearest
- 9:54relative it is your right and duty to buy it.
- 9:59So this is interesting because, well, I'll read the next part.
- 10:03Then just as the Lord had said, my cousin Hannamel came to me in
- 10:09the courtyard of the guard and said by my field at Anathoth in
- 10:14the territory of Benjamin, since it is your right to redeem it
- 10:20and possess it by it for yourself.
- 10:23Now there's a lot here that in those two paragraphs that there,
- 10:27first of all, there was an immediate fulfillment.
- 10:30So Jeremiah is literally hearing from God because, you know, how
- 10:35does he know that? How does he know that this man's
- 10:38coming to him and going to ask him these things?
- 10:42And the Lord also said he told him, he said buy it because
- 10:47you're the, you know, he told Jeremiah to do that.
- 10:51And so again, I'll, I'll read through this, but umm, there's
- 10:56so much in here. I knew that there was, that this
- 10:59was the word of the Lord. So I bought the field at
- 11:04Anathoth from my cousin Hannah Mel and weighed out him 17
- 11:09shekels of silver. I signed and sealed the deed,
- 11:14had it witnessed and weighed out the silver on the scales.
- 11:19I took the deed of purchase, the sealed copy containing the terms
- 11:25and conditions, as well as the unsealed copy.
- 11:28And I gave this deed to Baruch, son of Neriah, the son of
- 11:35Messiah, in the presence of my cousin Hannamel and of the
- 11:41witnesses who had signed the deed, and of all the Jews
- 11:47sitting in the courtyard of the guard.
- 11:50In their presence I gave Baruch these instructions.
- 11:53This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says.
- 11:57Take these documents, both the sealed and unsealed copies of
- 12:02the deed of purchase, and put them in a clay jar so they will
- 12:06last a long time. For this is what the Lord
- 12:11Almighty, the God of Israel says.
- 12:13Houses, fields and vineyards will again be bought in this
- 12:18land. So there's this future
- 12:21restoration that is promised by God.
- 12:25Now. There's so much in here that is
- 12:28really, really cool. That honestly just came to me
- 12:32when I was reading it today. So I'm going to share with you
- 12:38some of the research that I did. I was curious, you know, he paid
- 12:4417 shekels of silver. And so I was curious what what
- 12:48was that? Was that a little bit of money?
- 12:50Was that a lot of money? So I searched how was land
- 12:54valued in 587 BC? So I'm going to read this to
- 12:58you. In 587 BC, land value in the
- 13:01ancient Near East was typically determined by factors such as
- 13:05location, agricultural potential, and prevailing
- 13:09political circumstances, with transactions conducted using a
- 13:13system of weights in precious metals like silver shekels.
- 13:19Land valuation factors Agricultural Use Land was
- 13:23primarily valued for its agricultural productivity and
- 13:27ability to sustain life, which was especially critical during
- 13:32times of siege and famine. Property law In ancient Judah,
- 13:39property law as outlined in Leviticus ideally mandated that
- 13:44land remain with the family line and only be transferred through
- 13:49inheritance or a kinsman redemption process, the goel
- 13:55system. This meant that the inherent
- 13:58long term value was tied to familial lineage and not just
- 14:04market speculation. So there is ancestry.
- 14:08Especially because God identified what land people will
- 14:13have and nothing is. You know God's will will
- 14:18succeed. No matter what people do, God's
- 14:22will succeeds. So there's a lot of things like
- 14:26the Kinsman redemption process, where only someone you know can
- 14:31redeem. This ties to Jesus again,
- 14:35because Jesus was the ransom on the cross.
- 14:40The price paid His life was the price paid for the redemption of
- 14:45mankind. So even though we're talking
- 14:49about people, it's a very similar type thing, a kinsman,
- 14:53Redeemer, somebody related. He was from the tribe of Judah.
- 14:58His sacrifice on the cross. Again, Jesus is the way, the
- 15:03truth and the life, and no one comes to the Father except
- 15:07through him. So his sacrifice on the cross
- 15:11made it possible for the Israelites to be in God's
- 15:15Kingdom. And this is, you know, the the
- 15:19Jewish people should understand this from property law when
- 15:23their eyes are finally opened about Jesus and what he did for
- 15:27them. So I'm going to continue to read
- 15:29about this political instability.
- 15:31The year 587 BCE was a time of immense turmoil with the Neo
- 15:37Babylonian Empire besieging Jerusalem.
- 15:40The value of land during such periods was highly volatile.
- 15:44The ongoing war, famine, and subsequent Babylonian exile
- 15:49meant that the immediate market value for land near the conflict
- 15:53zone was likely depressed or even considered worthless by
- 15:58some. Due to the high risk currency.
- 16:02There were no standard coins. Instead, payments were made
- 16:05using shekel weights of silver which were weighed on a scale
- 16:11for each transaction and we see evidence of this in the
- 16:16description found in Jeremiah because it was 17 shekels of
- 16:20silver and they were weighed out on scales in verse 10 and the
- 16:25deed of purchase. Now this is interesting too, the
- 16:28deed of purchase, the sealed copy.
- 16:31So what I understand from having researched this before was that
- 16:35there were these wax seals that were put onto the scrolls where
- 16:39these this deed that was purchased.
- 16:42Now does that sound familiar? Sealed scroll.
- 16:47How many times were scrolls talked about in Bible prophecy?
- 16:51So there were a couple different times where scrolls were sealed
- 16:57and visions were had by prophets that, you know, was about the
- 17:04end times. And then we look into the Book
- 17:07of Revelation and there's a scroll.
- 17:11So I've, you know, some of these, the symbology in the Book
- 17:16of Revelation was really confusing to me at the
- 17:18beginning, but now it seems to be coming clearer and clearer.
- 17:23This scroll, is it, you know, is it the deed of the land?
- 17:29Is it a deed for mankind? Is it both?
- 17:33And is Jesus the Lamb of God? I mean, I know Jesus is the Lamb
- 17:38of God, you know, symbolic Lamb of God.
- 17:41But he was the only one who could redeem, the only one who
- 17:46could open the scroll. So his death on the cross was he
- 17:53was the only one that could do that because he was sinless.
- 17:57He died on the cross. That required purity to atone
- 18:03for the sin of all people. And then Jesus, as the Lamb in
- 18:09the Book of Revelation, opens up the seven seals on the scroll.
- 18:14No one else can do it. It's only the Lamb.
- 18:18So Jesus opens the seven seals. So, and this brings about it, it
- 18:25sounds, I mean, these are negative things that happen as
- 18:29the seals are being broken. And so it's, but it's I guess a
- 18:37process that has to happen in order to redeem the full scroll.
- 18:44So there is this consequence. And you know, when God set out
- 18:50his commands and he gave blessings for obedience and
- 18:55curses for disobedience back in Deuteronomy, if we read through
- 18:59those, we'll probably see this again.
- 19:02And, and, and there are also things that are like in the Book
- 19:07of Revelation, if anybody takes and modifies any words of it,
- 19:11then the plagues that are described in the scroll will
- 19:14come upon those on that person. So God is pretty serious about
- 19:20his word and about anybody messing with it, changing it or
- 19:25doing anything different. And we know that there are some
- 19:30countries that are actually trying to rewrite the Bible.
- 19:34There's going to be consequences for that.
- 19:36And actually, I've, I've seen and I today, I don't even know
- 19:39what's real and what's not real, but I've seen these like plague,
- 19:43like things like frogs, gnats, white flies happening to the
- 19:49country that is, has been in the news that they've actually been
- 19:56trying to rewrite the Bible and these plagues have been
- 20:00happening and they don't know why these plagues are happening.
- 20:03It's just, I think this is just prophecy being fulfilled.
- 20:08So now this is interesting. When I was looking at how was
- 20:12land valued in 587 BC, all of a sudden an example from Jeremiah
- 20:1632 comes up. This.
- 20:17So this is really relevant to what we're studying.
- 20:20So I'm going to read this part. A prominent example from this
- 20:23period illustrates the complex nature of land valuation.
- 20:27The prophet Jeremiah purchased a field in Anathoth from his
- 20:31cousin for 17 shekels of silver during the Babylonian siege of
- 20:37Jerusalem around 587 or 586 BCE. So again, even looking this up,
- 20:44the the year matches, Jeremiah weighed out 17 shekels of silver
- 20:49for the field, signed the the deed, sealed it, and stored it
- 20:55in a clay jar for safekeeping. So this also brings to mind the
- 21:02discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls in 1948.
- 21:06There are I think over 1000 or 2000 scrolls that have been
- 21:10found. And and so anyway, it's just
- 21:14it's showing the process. There's more that I'll read
- 21:16about that too. So this transaction was not an
- 21:20economically investment in the immediate term, as the land was
- 21:25soon to be under Babylonian control and largely vacated.
- 21:30Instead, it was a prophetic act symbolizing a promise of future
- 21:36restoration when houses, fields, and vineyards will again be
- 21:41bought in this land after the exile.
- 21:45The actual amount of silver, approximately 7 oz was a sizable
- 21:50sum, but whether it reflected the fields true market value or
- 21:55a prophetic symbolic price is debatable.
- 22:00You know the God number of seven.
- 22:01So that's interesting too that that is what he paid for it.
- 22:05And the seven day, I mean, there's so many, like the number
- 22:087 is so significant and symbolic in Scripture documentation.
- 22:14Business transactions were meticulously recorded on clay
- 22:17tablets during the Neo Babylonian period, including
- 22:20details like the King's reign, year and the status of the moon,
- 22:25to ensure accuracy and provide verifiable records.
- 22:29This level of documentation suggests a structured, albeit
- 22:33ancient, system for property transactions.
- 22:38So there was something when I was thinking about value.
- 22:42I remember reading in scripture how and I thought it pertained
- 22:46to land as well, But it also applies to indentured servants.
- 22:51And maybe it more so applies to indentured servants, but it also
- 22:58does apply to land. So let me read this to you.
- 23:02I wanted I knew there was a value associated with land as it
- 23:07pertained to the years left until the jubilee.
- 23:11So here's the relationship between the value of land and
- 23:15the jubilee. The value is directly
- 23:18proportional to the years left until the jubilee.
- 23:22More years remaining mean a higher value and fewer years
- 23:28mean a lower value. This principle, found in
- 23:31Leviticus, was used to calculate the value of land or the
- 23:37redemption price for a person sold into servitude, with the
- 23:42value based on the number of future harvest or years of hired
- 23:48labor. So how was the how value was
- 23:53determined? More years left?
- 23:54The value was higher because there were more years of
- 23:58potential crops or labor. If there were fewer years left,
- 24:02the value was lower because there were fewer crops to be
- 24:05harvested or less time. As a hired servant calculation,
- 24:10the price was calculated based on the remaining years until the
- 24:15next jubilee using the value of a hired servant for that period.
- 24:20Examples in practice. Selling land.
- 24:24A person selling land would base the price on the number of years
- 24:28until the jubilee, increasing the price if many years were
- 24:33left and decreasing it if few years were left.
- 24:38So this I'll, I guess I'll read the rest of it too.
- 24:41Redemption of servitude. A person who was sold into
- 24:45servitude could be redeemed by a family member or himself.
- 24:50This is that kinsman Redeemer too, which I think applies to
- 24:54all of us. And I'm, I still haven't done
- 24:57my, I'm going to write this out about slavery in the Bible.
- 25:01And I think this is applicable to it as well.
- 25:04The So continuing on the redemption price was calculated
- 25:08by multiplying the annual wage of a hired servant by the number
- 25:13of years remaining until the Jubilee.
- 25:15Now, why this is significant is that in the Jubilee year, people
- 25:20were set free. They were no longer on a they,
- 25:25they didn't need to remain where they were.
- 25:27They worked for six years in the 7th year.
- 25:32Well, I guess the Jubilee year is actually the 50th year.
- 25:36It, it went like there were 49 years and then the next year was
- 25:40a Jubilee year. But there were also it, there
- 25:44was like 6 years or seven. The 7th year was then the when
- 25:49people were freed. So I need to probably look that
- 25:54up because I know I've read both of those things though.
- 25:58But consecrated fields. When a person consecrated a
- 26:02field to the Lord, the priest would assess its value based on
- 26:05the number of years left until the jubilee.
- 26:08If the owner wanted to redeem the field later, the price would
- 26:12be based on this calculation, with a fifth added if he
- 26:16redeemed it after it was consecrated.
- 26:20So there was more value if it was holy.
- 26:23So just in context of today, I believe that 2025 right now I
- 26:31think is a Jubilee year according to the Essenes
- 26:36calendar, which the Essenes calendar was found in the Dead
- 26:38Sea Scrolls. There we are in now the last
- 26:43remaining 50 years before the not before, but during this time
- 26:51period I think we are the generation that will see the
- 26:54Messiah return. There are so many indications
- 26:58that Jesus will return within this next 50 year period and
- 27:03many people think it's much sooner than that, but that's
- 27:07speculation. So we don't really know.
- 27:10But if the Essenes calendar is correct and apparently from
- 27:15those who have studied the Essenes calendar, everything
- 27:19lines up with the Bible according to the Essenes
- 27:22calendar. So there are as of right now,
- 27:25there are 50 years remaining. Like this is the first year and
- 27:30then there are I guess 48 more years.
- 27:35Well it it's the 50th year, but it's also the first because of
- 27:39the way they calculate their years.
- 27:41So they'll have like 7-7 years, 7 sevens to 49.
- 27:50And then the 50th year is the Jubilee year, but it's also the
- 27:55first year of the next grouping of 49.
- 27:58So it's like these these groupings of 49 years, 7 sevens.
- 28:03And we can find that in prophecy too, like the prophetic book of
- 28:07Daniel where it talks about 7 sevens.
- 28:10And there's a lot of this like to really understand how
- 28:14calendars were calculated and not calculated, but I guess time
- 28:19periods were calculated from calendars.
- 28:22It's important to know that to better understand prophecy.
- 28:27And the Jubilee year is significant.
- 28:29So studying the Jubilee year is important.
- 28:33So I also looked up, was 7 ounces of silver much in 587 BC?
- 28:39And it says yes, 7 ounces of silver was a very significant
- 28:42amount of wealth in 587 BC, likely representing many months
- 28:47if not years of an average laborer's wages.
- 28:51In pre modern times, most people did not commonly possess large
- 28:54amounts of silver, and even wealthy individuals engaged in
- 28:58barter for most transactions. A silver coin, likely a shekel
- 29:04or a denarius depending on the specific region, was often
- 29:07considered the equivalent of a full day's labor for a worker.
- 29:1610 shekels was cited as a standard annual wage for a
- 29:20laborer. In some biblical context, a
- 29:24pound of silver, about 12 ounces in the Troy system, commonly
- 29:29used for precious metals, could purchase as many as 15 cows in a
- 29:34different historical context, Anglo-Saxon times, illustrating
- 29:39its considerable purchasing power for major assets.
- 29:43Therefore, 7 oz was a substantial sum that would have
- 29:47been used for major purposes, possibly equivalent to buying a
- 29:52house or land rather than everyday expenses.
- 29:58So now here is something that my thoughts were just going with
- 30:04all this. Like I noticed the correlation
- 30:07between a deed of purchased and this sealed copy, this legal
- 30:14system that they had in place for transferring land ownership.
- 30:21And so then I'm thinking about what God has said and what God
- 30:28has given to Israel. He gave the boundaries in the
- 30:32Book of Genesis to the Israelites and said these are
- 30:36the boundaries of your land. And it was actually, I think
- 30:41it's like from from the Wadi to the Euphrates River and then
- 30:45from, you know, beyond the Dead Sea to the Mediterranean Sea,
- 30:51like, and it's like from the river to the sea.
- 30:54You know that that chant that was going along in 23 and it was
- 31:00they were twisting the words of Gods promise to Israel and
- 31:06turning it around. I mean we are in those.
- 31:09This is another evidence of being in the end times where
- 31:12they call good evil and evil good.
- 31:15Like they are literally taking words from the Bible that God
- 31:18spoke to Israel and saying this is going to be your land and
- 31:23twisting it and saying this is going to be the land of the
- 31:25Palestinians or the Arabs. This they are not the
- 31:29Israelites. The Arabs are not the Israelites
- 31:32and the the Palestinians. This was really interesting when
- 31:37I learned this was a another name for the Philistines and the
- 31:44Philistines lived in Gaza. So all of this is like really
- 31:50eye opening when you learn these things.
- 31:54So now we have God's enemy. Like how many times in the Bible
- 31:58did God say wipe out the Philistines?
- 32:00So you see the Philistines and this this land that Jeremiah
- 32:05bought is in the territory of Benjamin.
- 32:07So that was another question that I had was you know what,
- 32:11you know, where is the modern territory of Benjamin or what is
- 32:15it called? The modern territory of ancient
- 32:17Israelite tribe of Benjamin is primarily located in the area of
- 32:21modern day West Bank, including parts of Jerusalem.
- 32:27The region is situated between the territories of the ancient
- 32:30tribes of Ephraim to the north and Judah to the South, along
- 32:36with central watershed Ridge of ancient Palestine.
- 32:41So I thought this was really interesting.
- 32:43This is the land that is is has been contested for years.
- 32:49There is an argument over who should control the land.
- 32:53Who owns the land? Whose territory?
- 32:55Is it the same thing for Judah. The modern territory of ancient
- 33:00Judah is known as Judea, which includes parts of modern Israel
- 33:05and the West Bank. So Judah, Judea and Samaria are
- 33:12also known as the West Bank. Isn't that interesting that all
- 33:18of this has, you know, has application to today and what is
- 33:24being discussed? I was curious because Jeremiah
- 33:27told, you know, went through this detail of hiding the
- 33:29scrolls. And I bet in some time, maybe in
- 33:32our life, we are going to see that Jeremiah's scrolls are
- 33:36found. There's, I guess they're still
- 33:39searching some of these caves and finding scrolls, but
- 33:43Jeremiah's scroll did not. I'm going to read about that.
- 33:46Has Jeremiah's deed been found in the Dead Sea Scrolls?
- 33:50No, Jeremiah's specific deed for the field and Anathoth has not
- 33:55been found among the Dead Sea Scrolls.
- 33:57However, the scrolls contain copies of the Book of Jeremiah,
- 34:01and the act of their preservation in jars is often
- 34:04compared to Jeremiah's act of preserving his deed in a jar,
- 34:09symbolizing hope for future restoration.
- 34:12The Dead Sea Scrolls include numerous copies of the Hebrew
- 34:15Bible, including several versions of the Book of
- 34:17Jeremiah. The historical event of Jeremiah
- 34:20buying the field at Anathoth is documented in the book of
- 34:24Jeremiah, Jeremiah 32, verses 10 through 14, and serves as
- 34:28symbolic act of faith and hope. Jeremiah's deed was stored in a
- 34:33clay jar, just as many of the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered
- 34:37in similar jars, creating a parallel between the two events.
- 34:42Scholars have found other ancient documents that confirm
- 34:45the practice of using duplicate documents for transactions
- 34:50supporting the history, historical accuracy of
- 34:53Jeremiah's account. So this is all very interesting.
- 34:59Now, getting back to this land of the West Bank that is
- 35:03contested and things that are happening today, because this
- 35:08seems to be relevant to me, and I'm also going to speculate a
- 35:13little bit on this. First of all, I'm going to just
- 35:15tell you the truth about like what is happening right now and
- 35:20we know we've heard we are in 2025 right now.
- 35:25We've heard about the two state solution and I am going to read
- 35:30about that. Like I put I just asked the
- 35:33question, I knew it wasn't imposed yet, but I knew it's
- 35:37under discussion discussion. So I I just searched when will
- 35:41the 2 state solution be implemented.
- 35:44I didn't know if there was any projection because I know
- 35:46there's been discussions. So I'm going to give you an
- 35:49update on this. The two state solution is a
- 35:52proposed framework for peace, not a set plan with a specific
- 35:58implementation date. Its implementation depends
- 36:02entirely on the outcome of future negotiations, which
- 36:07currently face significant political and practical
- 36:11challenges. There's no fixed timeline.
- 36:14There is no established timeline for when or even if A2 state
- 36:19solution will be implemented. Past efforts such as the Oslo
- 36:24Accords in the 1990s set a framework but did not result in
- 36:29a final settlement. Now here's where I want to
- 36:33speculate a little bit because and other people are
- 36:36speculating. I don't know if we should but
- 36:39but I think it's good to have your minds open to many
- 36:43possibilities and to watch because this is what came to
- 36:48mind as I'm reading is when the there is a confirming of a
- 36:56covenant with many which is in end times prophecy.
- 37:02Everybody talks about this seven years and there's this confirm
- 37:08confirming of a covenant. Think about this.
- 37:12I I always wondered like, what is the covenant that they're
- 37:15talking about? Because there were many
- 37:17covenants God made with his people, like the rainbow is a
- 37:21covenant that he will never flood the entire earth again.
- 37:25It's a covenant from God. And then there's other covenants
- 37:29where God, you know, I know that God will be the, the God of the
- 37:34people, the one and only God. And then there is also the
- 37:39covenant of the land. And, and I was wondering like,
- 37:42what is the specific covenant that is important to God?
- 37:49And I do think it could very well be that God claimed
- 37:53Jerusalem. This is God's land, he said.
- 37:58This is where he's going to rule from.
- 38:01And when Jerusalem gets involved, when the city of
- 38:05Jerusalem is under, you know, ownership discussions, I think
- 38:12this is where it's going to really anger God.
- 38:16Like no, that is my land. And so therefore I wonder if the
- 38:22two state solution is actually going to be the trigger that
- 38:27really enrages God and brings back wrath.
- 38:32And there is, you know, there's more that's happening in this
- 38:36right now, so I'm going to continue to read.
- 38:39The plan faces strong opposition from key parties in Israeli
- 38:43Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly
- 38:47rejected A2 state solution, while support among Palestinians
- 38:53has also declined international efforts.
- 38:57The international community, particularly the United Nations
- 39:02General Assembly and nations like France and Saudi Arabia,
- 39:08continues to advocate for the two state solution as the only
- 39:14viable path to lasting peace. Now I've seen Trump saying Saudi
- 39:21Arabia may be a part of the peace negotiations are the peace
- 39:26the Abraham Accords that started in what, 2020, September 15th of
- 39:312020, very interesting dates on these things.
- 39:34And that was also, I think when the red heifers were shipped to
- 39:38Israel. Just like, again, there's so
- 39:41much happening. And so we have this this
- 39:46international pressure that everybody wants peace, but the
- 39:52Bible says that when they say peace and security or peace and
- 39:55safety, then come sudden destruction.
- 39:58So if you know the Bible, you know that this isn't going to be
- 40:00peaceful. And if you know the Bible, you
- 40:03know that God's not going to be happy about a two state
- 40:06solution. But there are people who don't
- 40:09know the Bible who are proceeding with worldly insight
- 40:14and thinking this is the way to appease, this is the way to get
- 40:17peace among the people. And so these.
- 40:20Non biblical people, people who don't know the the Bible, don't
- 40:25know history, are proceeding with their best.
- 40:31I mean maybe they are deceptive in their ways of proceeding, but
- 40:35they are thinking this is a good thing.
- 40:38Now here's where it's recent 2025.
- 40:41In July and September 2025, a high level international
- 40:45conference was held at the UN resulting in a New York
- 40:51declaration outlining steps toward an irreversible pathway
- 40:58to peace. This is really interesting New
- 41:03York declaration that I didn't realize it was called that.
- 41:08And there's like a lot of changes happening in New York
- 41:13recently. This is November of 2025.
- 41:18So that's interesting. I wonder if Jonathan Cahn, who
- 41:23sees a lot of the symbology and what happens today, is this
- 41:28going to be bringing on the wrath of God, these decisions
- 41:32that are against what God said? And New York, we had, like I
- 41:38said, New York is a symbol of the United States.
- 41:42Are we going to receive judgment?
- 41:44Are we getting judgment from God because of the secular people in
- 41:49the world who don't know the Bible, who haven't turned to
- 41:52God, who haven't repented and are still rebellious to God?
- 41:56Look at all of the pushing. I know in the last election we
- 41:59had abortion on it and it was very contested and it wasn't
- 42:05successful in all areas. And abortion is just like the
- 42:09sacrificing to Molech, it's the modern day sacrificing to Molech
- 42:14that's happening. And again, this is against what
- 42:18God says. God creates life, God takes away
- 42:23life. God is in charge of that.
- 42:25We are not. And anyway, I'm not going to get
- 42:28on that whole subject, but abortion is wrong and it is
- 42:34doing in doing it. It is completely against God's
- 42:37will and there will be consequences for it.
- 42:43So anyway, this this meeting in July and September of 2025 by
- 42:48the International Conference, the UN, it's LED several
- 42:51countries, including the UK, Canada, Australia and France to
- 42:58recognize a Palestinian state. I'm going to say an observation.
- 43:03When they just listed these countries, the UK, Canada,
- 43:08Australia and France, do you notice that they now they are,
- 43:13they want to recognize a Palestinian state.
- 43:15Do you know what's happening currently to those countries?
- 43:21They are becoming Muslim. Let's see, maybe that's not the
- 43:29right word. They are embracing Islam.
- 43:34They are allowing Islam, they are allowing the call to prayer
- 43:40type things that are happening. They are taking away the freedom
- 43:45and the rights. These countries, the people, the
- 43:49Islam religion want Sharia law and some I think have been
- 43:54implemented and others have not. There's resistance toward it,
- 43:58but this is really biblical when you look at it what's happening
- 44:03in the world and that they are recognizing A Palestinian state.
- 44:07Keep in mind Palestine is the word for fill it.
- 44:12It was derived from the word Philistines.
- 44:14Philistines were the enemy of God that God told Israel to
- 44:19eliminate. So think about Bible history.
- 44:23I probably know Bible history better than history of anything
- 44:27right now from reading the Bible.
- 44:30So anyway, it says there are major obstacles.
- 44:33Numerous complex issues remain unresolved, including final
- 44:38borders. The status of Jerusalem, I would
- 44:41say absolutely, because God said that's he's going to rule from
- 44:45there. So the status of Jerusalem is
- 44:48critical security arrangements for both states.
- 44:52The future of Israeli settlements in the West Bank
- 44:56isn't that interesting because the West Bank is this land that
- 45:00Jeremiah bought. The issue of Palestinian
- 45:04refugees and their right of return.
- 45:07In summary, the implementation of A2 state solution remains a
- 45:12goal for much of the international community, but it
- 45:15is not currently an active agreed upon process by both the
- 45:19Israeli and Palestinian leaderships and therefore has no
- 45:23set date for implementation. So anybody who is listening to
- 45:29this podcast, you want to watch and see what happens with this
- 45:33two state solution because in my opinion it aligns with a lot of
- 45:39what the Bible says. You know what is going to bring
- 45:42about God's anger is when they are saying this land is somebody
- 45:47else's and it's not God's. And God claimed this land.
- 45:51God created the earth he has. He has the final say on who has
- 45:55the land. But are we as people going to
- 45:59disregard what was written in the Bible thou thousands and
- 46:03thousands of years ago that said this is going to be the land of
- 46:08Israel. This is going to be where Jesus
- 46:12rules from. Are we going to go against God?
- 46:16It's not going to go well for anyone who goes against God.
- 46:20And it does say in the end times that everyone's going to be
- 46:23against Israel. So I just think we need to keep
- 46:28our eyes open and what does that mean for us?
- 46:30We need to be prepared. We need to have the Holy Spirit
- 46:34within us. We need to be guided by God and
- 46:37not by mankind. Here's another interesting
- 46:41aspect. So the Book of Revelation very
- 46:43much symbolizes a deed of land. And that's why I'm speculating
- 46:50and thinking when this two state solution goes into play, does
- 46:55that be begin the opening of the seals?
- 46:58I was already thinking the seals were being opened.
- 47:03And so I'm not sure honestly, if the seals have already started
- 47:08opening because I do see the White Horse rider as Islam
- 47:13setting out to conquer. They openly say they want to
- 47:16conquer, they want to rule the whole world.
- 47:19So I, I, you know, there's part of me that thinks, well, the
- 47:23Seals already opened and Islam is going out to conquer the
- 47:26world and then the next thing is war.
- 47:30And Jesus said, you know, that's kind of hard to put a placement
- 47:33on the seal because war continues until, you know, it
- 47:37just goes on and on all the way till the end.
- 47:39So it's really hard to say how is this time any different than
- 47:43any prior years. So I, I can't really say for
- 47:47sure, but all of these things also could be foreshadowing of
- 47:51the future Seals. But then there's this next thing
- 47:54where there is like a scarcity and the way I look at it, this
- 47:59scales, there is, you know, of a higher price paid for basic
- 48:05necessity. So inflation and we've seen
- 48:09inflation since 2020. So again, this also makes me
- 48:16think about like the whole symbolism that I talked about in
- 48:21regards to Leah and Rachel, where are there like is there a
- 48:27seven-year period for the Gentiles?
- 48:30Because it says that these things happen until the fullness
- 48:33of the Gentiles happens. So is God giving the Gentiles 7
- 48:37years and then once all of the fullness of the Gentiles, the
- 48:41non Jewish people are there's so many people turning to Christ
- 48:45right now that is this all of the Gentiles coming to this, to
- 48:51faith, this revival, is that the fullness of the Gentiles?
- 48:55That's going to happen. And he uses the fullness of the
- 48:58Gentiles to provoke Israel to jealousy because they're going
- 49:03to see something. I think when the fullness of the
- 49:06Gentiles comes in and the Gentiles will be taken to Christ
- 49:11in the air, the resurrection, that's what I believe.
- 49:16But then is there a seven-year period for known as Jacob's
- 49:21trouble that occurs after that? There's just, you know, I don't
- 49:25want, I want to, I know what's been taught, but I also want to
- 49:28look at Scripture and keep an open mind because the Pharisees
- 49:35and the Jewish people of the day were experts in what was written
- 49:40down, but they missed Jesus. They didn't recognize him as the
- 49:45fulfillment of Scripture. So we also should not be so set
- 49:51in while I was taught this is how it happens.
- 49:54And I think we need to keep an open mind and look to Scripture
- 49:58and then when things happen, keep those in mind and just, you
- 50:02know, recognize the times. And the only reason we need to
- 50:07recognize the times is that salvation, the time frame of
- 50:12salvation is really critical. If Jesus returns there, you know
- 50:18you're either prepared or you're not.
- 50:20So if that is happening soon, people need to get their lives
- 50:24in order right now because we don't know when it's going to
- 50:28be. And if it's soon, you want to be
- 50:32prepared. It there was a warning that
- 50:34Jesus said about the 10 virgins. Half of them fell as well.
- 50:38They all fell asleep. So we all kind of like weren't
- 50:42ready, our eyes weren't open, but God is waking us up.
- 50:45Is God waking us up since 2020? Are there signs?
- 50:50I mean, I see all 2020 was the the marker year for me noticing
- 50:56all of these end times things that were happening in
- 50:59acceleration and, and you know, we are approaching the sixth
- 51:05year. And I also think about God's law
- 51:09and how you work, you know, 6 days and how God created the,
- 51:14you know, he created everything in six days at the creation in
- 51:18the 7th day he rested. So is there a period of rest for
- 51:22those who who have prepared a a year like the 7th year?
- 51:26Do those who have prepared now rest the 7th year?
- 51:30And in that time frame, those who are not prepared experience
- 51:35the wrath and tribute, you know, the wrath of God when these
- 51:39seals are open or have the seals already been opened?
- 51:43Like as I thought the seals were already opening.
- 51:46I thought we were maybe to the point of there's also people
- 51:49being beheaded. So that is also, you know, death
- 51:55in Hades follows on the 4th seal.
- 51:58And we see at the 5th seal, there are the souls that were
- 52:01martyred that are under the altar saying when will you
- 52:04avenge our death? So these things are happening in
- 52:08our world. Are they a foreshadowing of what
- 52:11is future to come? Or are these seals being opened
- 52:16right now? And here's another interesting
- 52:19thing, and it relates back to this, this legal process of
- 52:24transferring land. There are witnesses to it.
- 52:28The witnesses sign and in the Book of Revelation it talks
- 52:34about two witnesses and they prophecy for 1260 days and they
- 52:41are clothed in sackcloth. Sackcloth is significant.
- 52:46They are clothed in mourning. This is a sad time.
- 52:52So are these the one? Are these two witnesses the ones
- 52:57who are, you know, they something very terrible happened
- 53:02and they are witnessing to people, reminding people of
- 53:08God's truths during this time of persecution.
- 53:13And in John chapter 8 verse 17 it says in your own law it is
- 53:18written that the testimony of two witnesses is true.
- 53:23So we have two witnesses that God.
- 53:26This is God appointing in Revelation Chapter 11 verse 3.
- 53:30And I will appoint MY2 witnesses and they will prophecy for 1260
- 53:38days, which is 3 1/2 years clothed in sackcloth.
- 53:44Another part of prophecy talks about times, times and half a
- 53:48time. And it's been understood that
- 53:50that means 3 1/2 years. And so I kind of, you know,
- 53:57like, I don't know where we are in this process, but I'm
- 54:01pointing out things that I've observed in reading Scripture.
- 54:05And it's certainly a time to have your eyes wide open and
- 54:09focused on Christ, focused on getting closer to God, being in
- 54:14repentance, getting right with God, because we are seeing
- 54:19things that are talked about in the Bible happening in our
- 54:22world. And it's so, so important.
- 54:24I can't even express how important it is.
- 54:27I don't know that people realize what is going on in the world
- 54:31right now. So I'm going back now to
- 54:34Scripture, verse 16 In Jeremiah 32, after I had given the deed
- 54:41of purchase to Baroque son of Nyria, I prayed to the Lord.
- 54:49Ah sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by
- 54:52your great power and outstretched arm.
- 54:55Nothing is too hard for you. You show love to thousands, but
- 55:00bring the punishment for the parents sins into the laps of
- 55:04their children after them. Great and mighty God, whose name
- 55:09is the Lord Almighty, Great are your purposes and mighty are
- 55:14your deeds. So Jeremiah is praising God then
- 55:19he says your eyes are open to the ways of all mankind.
- 55:23You reward each person according to their conduct and as their
- 55:29deeds deserve. So that's a really important one
- 55:32when we think about applying that to our lives.
- 55:35God's eyes are open to all the ways He sees everything, nothing
- 55:39a secret or hidden from Him, and He rewards each person according
- 55:45to their conduct and as their deeds deserve.
- 55:49So if we're doing things that are not good, there's a
- 55:52consequence of that as well. So Jeremiah continues, You
- 55:57performed signs and wonders in Egypt and have continued them to
- 56:02this day in Israel and among all mankind, and you have gained the
- 56:07renown that is yours. Like God wants to be known by
- 56:11all. You brought your people Israel
- 56:15out of Egypt with signs and wonders, by a mighty hand and an
- 56:20outstretched arm, and with great terror you gave them this land.
- 56:26Listen, you gave them this land. You had sworn to give their
- 56:30ancestors a land flowing with milk and honey.
- 56:33So again, this covenant for the land is standing out to me.
- 56:39They came in and took possession of it, but they did not obey you
- 56:45or follow your law. So there's consequences
- 56:49associated with that. They did not do what you
- 56:52commanded them to do, so you brought all this disaster on
- 56:58them. So again, consequences of
- 57:01disobedience. So therefore we need to be
- 57:05obedient to God or we will suffer the consequences.
- 57:09If we want to be in the Kingdom of God, we need to accept God's
- 57:14commands and out of love. That's why we are obedience.
- 57:18It says if you love me, you will obey my commands.
- 57:22So if we are not being obedient, we are basically saying God, I
- 57:26don't, I don't love you. And do we really want to be the
- 57:31enemy of God when Jesus returns? So therefore we need to be
- 57:37obedient by the time Jesus returns.
- 57:40And I would not delay in making that happen.
- 57:44I would do it today. See how the siege ramps are
- 57:47built up to take the city. Because of the sword, famine and
- 57:52plague, the city will be given into the hands of the
- 57:56Babylonians who are attacking it.
- 57:59What you have said has happened, and now you see, and you now
- 58:06see. And though the city will be
- 58:09given into the hands of the Babylonians, you sovereign Lord,
- 58:13say to me by the field with silver and have the transaction
- 58:17witnessed. Now being obedient to God, like
- 58:21think about Jeremiah. He's heard all this prophecy
- 58:24that the Babylon, Babylonians are going to take all of this.
- 58:28We know that the 7 ounces of silver that Jeremiah paid was a
- 58:32significant portion of money. So Jeremiah already knows this
- 58:36prophecy from God that the Babylonians are going to control
- 58:39this. And then God's saying, take your
- 58:41money and buy this land. Boy, that's an act of faith.
- 58:47By faith, you are redeemed. By faith, you are healed by
- 58:50faith. All of these things like God
- 58:52rewards people of faith when their faith, despite what it
- 58:57looks like, despite what we see, faith is, you know, believing in
- 59:01the unseen. And so Jeremiah hasn't seen this
- 59:06restoration. He's taking a good chunk of his
- 59:08money and he's buying a field, being obedient to what he heard
- 59:15and knew was from the word of God because God told him in his
- 59:19thoughts. And then all of a sudden his
- 59:20cousin comes up and says, hey, I want you to buy my land.
- 59:24And then he does it even knowing that the Babylonians are going
- 59:28to have control over it. But will God reward Jeremiah
- 59:33when he does? Will Jesus reward and when he
- 59:35returns? I would imagine so.
- 59:37I would imagine that there's going to be some restoration of
- 59:40ownership of that land when Jeremiah is resurrected, if he
- 59:43hasn't already been as part of the fruit first fruits.
- 59:46I'm not sure who that was that was resurrected at the when the
- 59:49graves were opened at the time of Jesus crucifixion.
- 59:54There's very little that's known about that.
- 59:56Just a brief mention in Scripture, but a very
- 59:59interesting fact. There OK Verse 26 Then the word
- 1:00:03of the Lord came to Jeremiah. I am the Lord, the God of all
- 1:00:07mankind. Is anything too hard for me?
- 1:00:10Therefore, this is what the Lord says.
- 1:00:12I am about to give this city into the hands of the Babylonian
- 1:00:15and to Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, who will capture it.
- 1:00:19The Babylonians who are attacking this city will come
- 1:00:22in, set it on fire. They will burn it down along
- 1:00:27with the houses where the people aroused my anger by burning
- 1:00:31incense on the roofs to bail and by pouring out drink offerings
- 1:00:36to other gods. So that's another thing like
- 1:00:39fire cleanses, it purifies, and so it's a consequence of sin.
- 1:00:45Everything became defiled. You.
- 1:00:47We need to comprehend in a limited capacity, I comprehend
- 1:00:52some of the laws from reading Leviticus, but there is this
- 1:00:56cleansing and this consecrating of the land, and this is
- 1:01:00probably a consequence of their sinful actions, that it all has
- 1:01:04to be destroyed. And even in the end, God's going
- 1:01:08to have a new heaven, new heavens and new earth coming
- 1:01:13down from above. So because the first one was
- 1:01:16defiled and needs to be destroyed, which will happen
- 1:01:20during the wrath of God, so this earth as we know it will not be
- 1:01:24the same in the future. The people of Israel and Judah
- 1:01:30have done nothing but evil in my sight from their youth.
- 1:01:34Indeed, the people of Israel have done nothing but arouse my
- 1:01:36anger with what their hands have made, declared the Lord.
- 1:01:40That's another thing like what we are doing today, what we are
- 1:01:43seeing today, the advances of technology and what we are
- 1:01:46making, people are getting into that position of being a
- 1:01:52creator. Like even like the crisper
- 1:01:56babies and stuff like that. Look that up.
- 1:01:59There's, you know, like we are bordering on trying to be God
- 1:02:06and God's not going to share that spotlight.
- 1:02:09So those who are part of that are going to fall to severe
- 1:02:15judgement from God. And anyway, I'll continue on in
- 1:02:20Scripture. From the day it was built until
- 1:02:22now, the city has so aroused my anger and wrath that I must
- 1:02:27remove it from my sight. Sin separates.
- 1:02:32God has to be separated from sin, and that's why we need the
- 1:02:35Holy Spirit so that we can be counted as righteous and we
- 1:02:41receive the Holy Spirit through Jesus.
- 1:02:43That's why we have to believe in Jesus because Jesus is the one.
- 1:02:48I mean, he's not going to give the Holy Spirit to someone who
- 1:02:51doesn't believe, who denies him, but he says we need the Holy
- 1:02:56Spirit to be in the Kingdom of God.
- 1:02:59The people of Israel and Judah have provoked me by all the evil
- 1:03:04they have done. They, their kings and officials
- 1:03:07and their priests and prophets, the people of Judah and those
- 1:03:11living in Jerusalem, they turn their backs to me and not their
- 1:03:16faces, though I taught them again and again, they would not
- 1:03:21listen or respond to discipline. God disciplines those He love
- 1:03:26and the discipline is used to for the good of people.
- 1:03:30But as we see in here, people don't respond to discipline.
- 1:03:35They don't listen. God keeps sending prophets.
- 1:03:39He keeps sending messengers of His to tell people.
- 1:03:44Basically, they tell people repent, turn to God, get right
- 1:03:47with God, have that relationship with God, yet to know God, know
- 1:03:52God through scripture. So verse 34, they set up their
- 1:03:58vile images in the house that bears my name and defiled it.
- 1:04:02Now this seems to almost be a foreshadowing of future events
- 1:04:05too, because in the end times there's going to be an image
- 1:04:10that is that can speak. Now, with our technology today,
- 1:04:14that is possible that that could happen.
- 1:04:18And and is that going to be in the temple of God or on the Holy
- 1:04:22Land or it's set up somewhere and that is future prophecy.
- 1:04:29So again, this is like a foreshadowing.
- 1:04:31They did it before, they're going to do it again.
- 1:04:33History repeats itself. Verse 35 They built high places
- 1:04:38for Baal in the valley of Ben Hinnom to sacrifice their sons
- 1:04:42and daughters to Molech. Though I never commanded, nor
- 1:04:46did it enter my mind that they should do such a detestable
- 1:04:52thing and so make Judah sin. So again, sacrificing children,
- 1:04:59the same abortion. Abortion is sacrificing
- 1:05:04children. It's a modern day version of
- 1:05:08what they were doing to Molech. There will be judgement for
- 1:05:12that. Now God can forgive people who
- 1:05:15were ignorant and did it not knowing, listening to the world,
- 1:05:19listening to the evil. They didn't even know they were
- 1:05:21listening to evil when they accept it and think it's OK.
- 1:05:26But when you understand that this is evil, this is detestable
- 1:05:34hands that kill, that's detestable.
- 1:05:37When you understand that if you repent, God Forgives and God can
- 1:05:43restore. Now the, the way that I think
- 1:05:47about this is that God is so loving and merciful that I
- 1:05:51believe all those babies that were killed will be in God's
- 1:05:53Kingdom because they were wrongly killed.
- 1:05:59So there is going to be some sort of restoration of that in
- 1:06:03God's future eternal Kingdom, I believe.
- 1:06:06I mean, the Bible doesn't necessarily say that this is my
- 1:06:10belief just because I, I know God is love and I know that he
- 1:06:13is merciful and that he is just and, and he created these people
- 1:06:19and these people were destroyed. Like God gives life.
- 1:06:23And so if people take away the life that God gave, that is
- 1:06:27murder. And that's what abortion is.
- 1:06:30Abortion is murder. And that is against the 10
- 1:06:34commandments. But I also want to say that
- 1:06:37people before they know God do stupid things.
- 1:06:40We all do stupid. I mean, that's mild to call it
- 1:06:44stupid, but we all do things that are bad that we don't even
- 1:06:49realize. Or maybe we do, but we're
- 1:06:51rebellious. And but God is so loving and
- 1:06:54kind and he knows our intentions and knows what what caused us to
- 1:07:00be that way. And when we recognize it, like I
- 1:07:03said earlier, that a lot of times people will cry intensely
- 1:07:07when they are convicted by the Holy Spirit, like look at what
- 1:07:10you've done. But there is restoration.
- 1:07:13It's not to remain in shame. God does not keep us in shame.
- 1:07:17He, when He sees our heart, is truly repentant for whatever
- 1:07:21we've done. He forgives us and restores us,
- 1:07:26and He wants us to become holy. We can even become holy even
- 1:07:30when we've done these horrible things like Moses murdered
- 1:07:33somebody and he fled. But look at how God used Moses.
- 1:07:38I mean there are many people in the Bible who did things that
- 1:07:41were not good. Like every significant person
- 1:07:44that God used. I maybe I shouldn't say every,
- 1:07:48but I think most that he used had issues and God redeemed
- 1:07:54them. God restored them.
- 1:07:57God made them holy as a result of their obedience to God.
- 1:08:00When they started showing love back to God through obedience,
- 1:08:05God started restoring and blessing them.
- 1:08:07So I think this is something we can all learn that when we turn
- 1:08:10to God, no matter what we've done, God can restore.
- 1:08:13God can make us whole again. God can take away that guilt and
- 1:08:18shame because he makes us a new creation through the Holy
- 1:08:22Spirit. That is God's Spirit living
- 1:08:24inside of us and it's something that we want to welcome.
- 1:08:28We want to pray, pray to Jesus and ask for the Holy Spirit.
- 1:08:32If you don't believe that you have the Holy Spirit right now,
- 1:08:35if you've repented, but that the Holy Spirit is who makes us
- 1:08:42restored. So let's go back to verse 36.
- 1:08:46You were saying about the city by the sword, famine and plague,
- 1:08:49it will be given into the hands of the king of Babylon.
- 1:08:52But this is what the Lord the God of Israel says.
- 1:08:56I will surely gather them from all the lands where I banished
- 1:09:00them in my furious anger and great wrath.
- 1:09:03I will bring them back to this place and let them live in
- 1:09:07safety. Israel is not in safety right
- 1:09:10now. I think this is a future
- 1:09:12prophecy. So verse 38, they will be my
- 1:09:17people and I will be their God. I will give them singleness of
- 1:09:22heart and action so they will always fear me and that all will
- 1:09:29go well for them and for their children after them.
- 1:09:34Again, I think this is a future moment in time when the
- 1:09:40singleness of heart and action, I believe is when we have the
- 1:09:44Holy Spirit. And the reason I believe that is
- 1:09:48a prayer that Jesus said to the Father before he died for all
- 1:09:51mankind. And he said, make them one as we
- 1:09:56are one, one is single, right? So I believe that when we have
- 1:10:02the Holy Spirit, we become one with God.
- 1:10:07And I believe that this is when we have the singleness of heart
- 1:10:12where we want and desire what God wants and desire through the
- 1:10:17power of the Holy Spirit. We can't do it on our own.
- 1:10:20We need the Holy Spirit for that to happen.
- 1:10:24So verse 40, I will make an everlasting covenant with them.
- 1:10:31I will never stop doing good to them.
- 1:10:35I will inspire them to fear me so that they will never turn
- 1:10:41away from me. Now the fear of God is called
- 1:10:44the beginning of wisdom. If we know the power of God and
- 1:10:49we know you know like don't fear mankind because they can only
- 1:10:53kill the body or the shell, but the soul lives and God will is
- 1:10:58giving us a new body when Jesus returns that we will be changed
- 1:11:03to immortal beings. So life continues.
- 1:11:08Life doesn't end when we when we die.
- 1:11:12That is a transition into another realm of existence
- 1:11:17that's according in agreement with the Bible.
- 1:11:19And there is going to be a restoration that we are what we
- 1:11:23the way we Live Today. If we take away everything bad,
- 1:11:26we are going to be living that way in the future, minus
- 1:11:30everything bad. So we will be restored
- 1:11:34physically, mentally, spiritually, all these different
- 1:11:37ways. That's what God does.
- 1:11:39He's a restorer. We will be that even newer
- 1:11:44creation. Spiritually we're a new creation
- 1:11:47when we receive the Holy Spirit, but physically we will also be a
- 1:11:50new creation or restored creation, I guess.
- 1:11:55But the fear of the Lord is important because that keeps us
- 1:11:58from turning from God, having that fear that God can send us
- 1:12:04to an eternal place. God is the final judge.
- 1:12:08We will be either be with him or separated from him for eternity.
- 1:12:15Eternity. Think about that.
- 1:12:17Our our decisions today are so critical because the decision
- 1:12:22that we make today in regards to God seals our destiny.
- 1:12:28So if you want to be in God's Kingdom, then we need to let God
- 1:12:33know that we need to accept the Holy Spirit.
- 1:12:36We need to agree to live with in, in, you know, let the Holy
- 1:12:40Spirit guide us so that we are in agreement with God's will,
- 1:12:45that we are living our life according to God's will.
- 1:12:49Verse 41 I will rejoice in doing them good and will assuredly
- 1:12:56plant them in this land with all my heart and soul.
- 1:13:01That's a promise from God to the Israelites about he.
- 1:13:06He's going to be so pleased in doing them good.
- 1:13:10Like God is a good father. He's a good giver.
- 1:13:13He wants good things for His children.
- 1:13:15He gives good gifts to his children.
- 1:13:18When we have the Holy Spirit, we are the children of God.
- 1:13:22We are brothers and sisters of Jesus.
- 1:13:25This is what the Lord says. I have brought all this great
- 1:13:29calamity on these people, so I will give them all the
- 1:13:33prosperity I have promised them. Can you imagine all the
- 1:13:39prosperity I have promised them like God?
- 1:13:41When God promises prosperity that's that's so much greater
- 1:13:46than any man can promise. Once more fields will be bought
- 1:13:52in this land of which you say it is a desolate waste without
- 1:13:56people or animals, for it has been given into the hands of the
- 1:14:00Babylonians. Fields will be bought for
- 1:14:03silver, and deeds will be signed, sealed and witnessed in
- 1:14:08the territory of Benjamin. Again, remember, this is the
- 1:14:12West Bank we're talking about in the villages around Jerusalem
- 1:14:16and in the towns of Judah, which is also the West Bank, and in
- 1:14:20the towns of the Hill Country of the western foothills and of the
- 1:14:24Negev. Because I will restore their
- 1:14:27fortunes, declares the Lord. And that ends chapter 32.
- 1:14:33There are some questions and answers so I guess I will go
- 1:14:39through those. I don't know if I read any of
- 1:14:43these, so I will start with why had Zedekiah imprisoned
- 1:14:51Jeremiah? King Zedekiah did not believe
- 1:14:53Jeremiah and punished him for speaking out against his
- 1:14:57policies. God's call on Jeremiah's life
- 1:14:59was one of hardship, not prosperity or fame.
- 1:15:02Over the course of his ministry, Jeremiah was ridiculed,
- 1:15:06denounced, beaten, and imprisoned, but he was
- 1:15:09absolutely committed to God and was willing to pay the price to
- 1:15:14prophecy faithfully. Why did Jeremiah have two deeds?
- 1:15:19The sealed deed was perhaps the equivalent of a notarized deed
- 1:15:23today. It was the official document
- 1:15:24that served in a similar way to a registered deed today.
- 1:15:28Probably the legal system of Jeremiah's day required 2
- 1:15:32documents. One was seen and used more
- 1:15:34frequently and the other was preserved for safekeeping.
- 1:15:37Since it was sealed and could not be altered, the document
- 1:15:40could be used to settle any later disputes.
- 1:15:45How did a jar of How did a clay jar protect the documents?
- 1:15:49Clay jars were sealed with pitch and stored in a cool, dry place
- 1:15:54such as a cave. They were the best means for
- 1:15:57protecting documents from the elements.
- 1:15:59Some documents, example the Dead Sea Scrolls, have survived
- 1:16:03intact for over 2000 years in sealed jars.
- 1:16:08Why punish the children of sinners?
- 1:16:11In an imperfect world, people often suffer the consequences of
- 1:16:16others actions through no fault of their own.
- 1:16:20Judas sins would have long lasting impact, affecting
- 1:16:25generations to come. Affliction in this life,
- 1:16:28however, does not necessarily mean punishment in eternity.
- 1:16:34Children are not eternally damned simply because they were
- 1:16:38born to ungodly parents. Still, each generation must bear
- 1:16:43the responsibility for its own choices.
- 1:16:47What miracles had God done among all mankind?
- 1:16:50We have to understand this in terms of Judah's view of the
- 1:16:53world. All mankind to them meant
- 1:16:55neighboring nations whose people had heard not only about the
- 1:17:00Egyptian plagues and the Exodus, but also the crossing of the
- 1:17:04Jordan River, the fall of Jericho, and the destruction of
- 1:17:08cynic cherubs. I know I'm probably pronouncing
- 1:17:11that wrong army. These were miracles by anyone's
- 1:17:15definition and gained the God of Israel the respect of other
- 1:17:19nations. How were siege ramps made?
- 1:17:22Siege ramps were built with trees, large rocks, and soil.
- 1:17:25Whatever debris they could that could be found.
- 1:17:28They were built up against the walls of a protected city in
- 1:17:31order to gain access to the city by using battering Rams or by
- 1:17:36simply scaling the walls. They were difficult to build
- 1:17:40because the city defenders did all they could to impede the
- 1:17:43progress. Those building the ramps were
- 1:17:45prime targets for attack. In this immediate context, the
- 1:17:49ramps were already built, putting the city in a vulnerable
- 1:17:52place. Did people fear that a
- 1:17:55prediction of something bad could actually bring it about?
- 1:17:59The words of a true prophet had power because the prophet spoke
- 1:18:03God's word. This is what the Lord says.
- 1:18:06Once uttered, God's word proceeds to accomplish His
- 1:18:10purpose. That's found in Isaiah 55 verse
- 1:18:1311. That is why people preferred to
- 1:18:17listen to false prophets who spoke about peace rather than
- 1:18:21Jeremiah's predictions of destruction.
- 1:18:24Again, wake up everybody. They're talking about peace.
- 1:18:28Know what the Bible says? Where was the valley of Ben
- 1:18:33Hinnom? The Valley of Ben Hinnom lay to
- 1:18:36the South and east of Jerusalem. It was known as the place where
- 1:18:40people sacrifice their children by fire to Molech.
- 1:18:44Later, the valley became the city's garbage dump.
- 1:18:47While the corpses of criminals were discarded and the city
- 1:18:50trash was burned, it's perpetual fires caused it to be a symbol
- 1:18:54of future judgement. The word hell is derived from
- 1:18:59the Greek Gehenna, which comes from the Hebrew Gehinam, a word
- 1:19:05that refers to the Hinam valley. Who was Molech?
- 1:19:10He was one of the many Pagan gods mentioned in the Old
- 1:19:13Testament. Baal, meaning Lord or master,
- 1:19:16was a more generic word. Any God could be called Baal.
- 1:19:22Some think Molech simply could mean the king.
- 1:19:25Molech, the chief God of the Ammonites, was known as was
- 1:19:31known in Moab as Kimosh. The worship of both Molech and
- 1:19:36Kimosh often involved child sacrifice.
- 1:19:42Was God contradicting his prophet?
- 1:19:44No. There is no doubt that there is
- 1:19:46a focus on sword famine and plague throughout the prophecies
- 1:19:49of Jeremiah. These were spoken at God's
- 1:19:51command. In this verse, God was not
- 1:19:54contradicting Jeremiah's messages but was bringing a
- 1:19:57focus to future deliverance. He was providing an additional
- 1:20:01message of salvation. This had been the plan of God
- 1:20:04all along. Deuteronomy chapter 30, verses
- 1:20:08one through 5. However, the previous messages
- 1:20:11of judgement were. Not being reversed, they too
- 1:20:15would come to pass. Why make the people of Judah
- 1:20:19into something they worked? The people of Judah needed
- 1:20:23divine help to break free from their sinful habits.
- 1:20:27That's the help of the Holy Spirit, and God used their
- 1:20:30captivity in Babylon to do just that.
- 1:20:33There they found themselves surrounded by impotent Pagan
- 1:20:38gods, and they began to again desire the one true God.
- 1:20:43After a number of Jews returned to Judah years later, they never
- 1:20:47again worshipped idols. Some speculate that synagogue
- 1:20:52worship, which began during the exile, may have helped them
- 1:20:56remain devoted to God. And that's the end of the
- 1:21:02questions and answers for chapter 32.
- 1:21:05Hope you come back for 33. I haven't previewed that one,
- 1:21:08but this was a very interesting chapter.
- 1:21:11So if you found it interesting and insightful, please share it
- 1:21:14with other people because I think it's really important for
- 1:21:17people to know this, especially being in the year 2025.
