- 0:22My oh hi. Beth and you wishes being the
- 0:26sweetest complimenting my hair. Hey, make sure you're close to
- 0:30your mic. Yeah, hello.
- 0:33You were quiet. OK, can you hear me?
- 0:35Yes, that's better. Like a hair girl one time told
- 0:39me when I get my hair done, that's not what'd she say, it's
- 0:45couch hair or no no what was it? Where like you have a quickie on
- 0:49the couch or something. Sex Hair.
- 0:52Oh, bed hair. No, no, I don't know.
- 0:55Okay, this is not going. Like let's just go with couch
- 0:58hair. I like couch hair.
- 1:00Sounds good. Like you get home and your
- 1:02husband is like, Oh my God, Oh my God.
- 1:05Anyway, whatever, I. Don't.
- 1:07It's okay. You know what?
- 1:08I mean. I don't know exactly where
- 1:11you're going with that. Are you telling me I have couch
- 1:12hair? Yes, it's like blah blah, boom.
- 1:16Like hair? Commercial hair?
- 1:18Thank you. Yeah, so we are.
- 1:21We usually have for all of our millions of listeners.
- 1:24You guys usually catch us in the morning when we're catching up,
- 1:27but we've had almost a full day of being bright eyed and bushy
- 1:30tailed and we're coming to you in the afternoon recording
- 1:33because Bethany is like bears with me with all my dumb like,
- 1:39can we do it here? Can we do it then?
- 1:41Like oh. My God.
- 1:42Yeah. And I'm like, please, my
- 1:43schedule is so busy, right? You're being so annoying.
- 1:46Well I had a hair appointment before this so like that was
- 1:50like by choice. Literally I'm just standing by
- 1:53whenever. You're like whenever I'm
- 1:55available basically. And then I was thinking I'm
- 1:58like, OK, no, like her afternoons she gets more into
- 2:01like I want to chill mode. So I was, but you'll always talk
- 2:06to me. Oh yeah, no, this is like this
- 2:08wakes me up for sure. I wish it.
- 2:09Says I don't know if this would be creepy, but I was gonna say
- 2:11that green really makes your eyes pop.
- 2:14Isn't it a? OK, I'm gonna agree.
- 2:15With you colour on you. I know I almost, we went to
- 2:18Lululemon this weekend and I almost got another one of these
- 2:20which I'm not gonna wear. I barely wear this as it is in
- 2:23this colour. And I was like, I went up to
- 2:25Bobby and I was like, wow, this colour looks great on me.
- 2:28I love that you, you like put those sunglasses on.
- 2:30You're like, I look amazing. I don't say that that often, but
- 2:35that's I think. You should.
- 2:36I love it. I think when I feel it, I'm
- 2:38like, yeah, yeah. So I feel that when it's so
- 2:42funny because eyebrows has always been my thing.
- 2:44Like I like a big brow when I was younger, like I had
- 2:48naturally big brows and I was definitely the generation of
- 2:51like you make them as thin as possible.
- 2:53So I literally hated looking back at pictures.
- 2:58I'm like, I had these little arches that were just tiny,
- 3:01skinny little things. Yeah.
- 3:02And I'm like, Oh my gosh. Kate had beautiful natural brows
- 3:06as a young kid, so they've grown in really nicely.
- 3:10But I still get like, I just got a touch up this week of my
- 3:13microblading and it's at like, day, call it 5, which is the day
- 3:18that it's like they start to, like, fade Day 2 and day three,
- 3:21they're like, boom, like, intense.
- 3:23And most people are like, oh, my gosh.
- 3:25I'm like, I wish they would stay intense.
- 3:27Like, I'm totally fine if it almost looks like I have
- 3:29caterpillars on my face. So how you feel about yourself
- 3:31in green? Yeah, I feel when I have like,
- 3:34bold brows, I'm like, I could take on the world.
- 3:38Really. Yeah, I'm like, if anyone looks
- 3:42at me, they're like, she means business with those brows.
- 3:45Like that's how I feel. That's so funny you'd say that
- 3:48about the caterpillars because I got my hair done on Friday and
- 3:52she tints my eyebrows because I haven't done anything.
- 3:55Like I'm scared to do micro. No, not micro needling.
- 3:58What is microblading? Microblading.
- 4:01But when she does them, they're like really prominent.
- 4:03And I came home and I was like, Oh my God, yeah, I totally get
- 4:07that. I need to do something because I
- 4:08do love big eyebrows. Yeah.
- 4:11And I get your like reservation of just because like it's kind
- 4:14of like when people start doing like the lash extensions now
- 4:17everyone's a lash artist. Like you're doing microblading.
- 4:21I mean, you, I've seen some hack jobs, you should get them done
- 4:24in August with my girl when you're here because it lasts 2
- 4:26years. OK, done.
- 4:27She's amazing. OK, Literally she's like gone to
- 4:30Italy for training, training and stuff like that.
- 4:32And of course I want to send you to her because I love her and I
- 4:35trained her dog so that helps too.
- 4:37But she, she does an amazing job.
- 4:41So we should totally set you up with her.
- 4:43What do the kids say? Or you say, say less, say.
- 4:46Less don't tempt me with a good time.
- 4:49Did you come up with that on your own?
- 4:51I don't, no, I definitely didn't come up with that.
- 4:53But I don't know, like no one says that to me.
- 4:56I'm sure I've heard it. I definitely didn't come up with
- 4:58the phrase, but like, I don't know where I would have heard.
- 5:02I probably heard one person say it and I was like, that's mine
- 5:05now. Oh, by the way, when you asked
- 5:07about the reality TV show Who We Are and you said I'm Prue, I
- 5:11think you're Allison. Oh, OK.
- 5:14Yes. Because she loves a joke.
- 5:17I mean her. Does her no love a prank?
- 5:20OK, so we should just say which cast member from Great British
- 5:23Baking Show? Are we?
- 5:24Yeah. I'm totally Alison and you're
- 5:26totally pro. Yeah, which I and then I feel
- 5:28like we both can lean into our Knoll from time to time.
- 5:31For sure. Yes.
- 5:32Yeah, I wish that was my job. What?
- 5:35You would be so good at that. I'd love it, yeah.
- 5:38Birdie, she's licking herself right next to.
- 5:41Me that's. That's a no for me, dog.
- 5:44Yeah, we can't do that. But I don't know if you saw
- 5:48this, but you inspired me. So you know how you were saying
- 5:52like you'll just be in the house and stuff like that because
- 5:54that's like, where you mostly work or if you're like in the
- 5:56kitchen or whatever, doing your Top Chef things or, you know,
- 6:00baking and just, you know, basically being a great British
- 6:03baking star, you'll just have great British playing in the
- 6:07background. Well, I decided I needed that in
- 6:10my life. And most of my day I spend down
- 6:12in the kennel room. So Casey ordered me a mount and
- 6:17then my TV that I have in the guest bedroom downstairs.
- 6:20It's like literally my TV from college that has a DVD player on
- 6:24the side. I'm like, no one ever really
- 6:26uses this when they stay in the bedroom.
- 6:28So I'm like, I'm moving it down to the kennel room.
- 6:31I've got my Fire stick and I'm playing on repeat Great British
- 6:35Baking Show while I'm down in the kennel room.
- 6:38That makes me so happy for. You and I just have the volume
- 6:40high because I'm not really watching it, but just hearing
- 6:43their voices. It's.
- 6:44Keeping me in the right state of mind.
- 6:46Yes, it's very calming. Yes, and then of course I'm
- 6:50watching all the ones that have like, sorry, I totally what's
- 6:53the bald guy's name? Oh, Matt.
- 6:56Matt, if Matt's in it, I'm like, I need to change it to either
- 6:58the earlier ones or to the Allison ones because he could
- 7:01put me in the wrong state of mind.
- 7:03No, I just went through this and it's when we're watching it at
- 7:05night and we finished. Like I don't really love like
- 7:08the last season. The one girl just dominates and
- 7:11I don't love that. Jasmine I know.
- 7:13I don't. Literally said we don't need
- 7:16like I don't want a Jasmine to win because it's like you're
- 7:19watching 1 episode one or two. You know who's winning?
- 7:22Yes. Like it's just, you totally
- 7:24know. So we went back to because I
- 7:26didn't want to watch Matt seasons.
- 7:28So when I went back, when it's a little short lady and she's all
- 7:32right, what's her? Name I can't remember.
- 7:35I couldn't tell you someone that's a Great British Baking
- 7:38Show person's listening and yelling at to us.
- 7:40Oh my gosh, sorry I just got so distracted.
- 7:42There's 2 little lovebirds like little doves sitting on top of
- 7:45the pergola right now. Like cuddling?
- 7:48That's so sweet. So just pure.
- 7:53Did I tell you how it was like a few.
- 7:55It was before I got the chickens and I was trying to decide on
- 7:59well, I was really looking for signs of why I should get
- 8:02chickens. So I was like pretty much
- 8:04getting chickens but. You you'll find a sign.
- 8:07You'll be like a bird. I must need chickens.
- 8:10I must need birds every now but. Can I tell you today, this is
- 8:13where my brain works? I'm walk.
- 8:15I'm on a walk with Johnny. We're walking past the sidewalk
- 8:18and there's a little pink, cute beaded, like a little girl's
- 8:21bracelet. And I was like, oh, my God, I
- 8:24wish I could write a novel about a little girl's bracelet and how
- 8:27she lost it. Like, this is where my brain
- 8:29goes. Yeah.
- 8:31I think it's incredible. I don't know.
- 8:35Yeah. I I'm.
- 8:35So glad I have such a unique friend in like the best way.
- 8:40I feel like that's like my brain would never go there.
- 8:44No. I my brain would go Oh no.
- 8:48So she lost her bracelet. Oh yeah, yeah.
- 8:51She's going to be so sad I need to either leave it here so she
- 8:54comes back to look for it or like hang it on my mailbox and
- 8:57write. Anyone lost a bracelet?
- 8:59That's where my brain goes to a sad situation.
- 9:02Well, on someone else who watches crime shows, which I do,
- 9:04by the way, and I've just gotten sucked into a new one.
- 9:07OK, there's. One on me because Casey won't
- 9:09watch those with me so I just need to like watch those on my
- 9:11own. Oh, Bobby won't watch them
- 9:13either. Well, he watched some with me,
- 9:14actually. That's that's a lie, but it's a.
- 9:17Lie. I mean, Casey will watch some,
- 9:19but if it's like too gruesome or like too dark, he's like, I
- 9:22can't, I can't. Let's put on Clarke's.
- 9:24About this I love dark stuff. Not like horror, I don't want to
- 9:28be grossed out, but it's more like true crime.
- 9:30Totally. All day long.
- 9:32OK, I'll have to tell you, I forget.
- 9:36OK, this is the best thing about our podcast.
- 9:38It is totally dependent on both of our like our moods and I, I
- 9:43like that. Like some of them are going to
- 9:45be more like not weren't, weren't ever like that.
- 9:48But some might be more low key. Others are going to be like, put
- 9:50your seatbelts on you don't know where this is going.
- 9:53I don't even know what topics. It's 9 minutes in and we've
- 9:56covered our bases. I know Casey's hopping in.
- 10:00Hi, Casey. Hey, what's up?
- 10:02How are you doing? Well.
- 10:06You, are you looking at the audio?
- 10:07Are you making sure the audio's OK?
- 10:09I can see your eyes moving. Are we doing OK, Casey?
- 10:11You guys are doing fine. Here's here's Bird.
- 10:15OK, Heidi, she hates that so much right now.
- 10:18Oh, she's so cute. She is.
- 10:21Look at her, Bethany. What?
- 10:24She's so obsessed with Casey, what it is like almost kind of
- 10:30creepy. Why?
- 10:31How? You remember that one time when
- 10:35at your house, not this time, but the last time, she was like,
- 10:38really licking, Bobby. Like licking, licking, licking.
- 10:41The last time, yeah. Yeah, yeah, not this past time,
- 10:44but the time before that. Yeah.
- 10:45Like if I go to like hug Casey or something of recent, she like
- 10:49really wants to get in there and like start licking his skin.
- 10:52Like she's going to hump him. No, yes, she's air humped next
- 10:57to him. No.
- 10:59Yes, and I'm like BB, I'm like, I don't know what your hormones
- 11:02doing her honey, but that's your dad.
- 11:06I didn't see any of that. When they wish you, you were
- 11:08here. No, she didn't do it.
- 11:10I think she likes to like, do it in the comfort of her own home.
- 11:13But I'm like, Oh my gosh. And I was like, literally Casey
- 11:16was just in the other room doing therapy.
- 11:18And I was thinking, because Birdie was laying here right
- 11:19next to me and I'm like, he's fucking, he's only been in there
- 11:22for an hour. He's probably going to come out.
- 11:24She's like, and I'm going to be like, don't worry, guys, this is
- 11:28Birdie. She hasn't seen her dad for an
- 11:30hour. God forbid.
- 11:33OK, your crime show. Sorry, back to that.
- 11:35Well. I forget what it's called, but
- 11:37there's three seasons so far and it's like it's written, I think,
- 11:41by the same people who did Law and Order especially.
- 11:45What is this on? Netflix OK it's #2 show right
- 11:49now, which I'm always drawn to. I go to the.
- 11:52List I've seen. What is that called?
- 11:53Yeah, I've seen people posting about this.
- 11:56It's so good. The New York ones are the best.
- 11:59OK, there's two new. York seasons, there's the first
- 12:02one is LA so you I mean I. Gotta look just cuz I'm
- 12:04interested. Yeah, you gotta watch all of
- 12:06them, I guess, but New York is my favorite.
- 12:08I started with Season 3. It was so good.
- 12:10Now I have a few more episodes of two.
- 12:13Is it something very bad is gonna happen?
- 12:16No. No homicide New York.
- 12:19Yes. OK.
- 12:20All right, Cool. I'll watch it.
- 12:22It's good. Have you watched Jury Duty?
- 12:26Yes. OK, so we there's a second.
- 12:29One right? Yeah, but it's something
- 12:31different. We watched Jury Duty a while
- 12:34back, like when it was really popular, but I think we realized
- 12:36we we must have like, I don't know, stopped watching.
- 12:38I don't know why 'cause it's hilarious at like the last two
- 12:42episodes. So we're we're re watching it
- 12:44and it's giving kind of like how they record, you know, like
- 12:48Clarkson's Farm or stuff like that.
- 12:49Like it's just that kind of vibe.
- 12:52It is just so good. So we we're like, we need to,
- 12:56yeah, we're like, we need to rewatch this before we start the
- 12:58new one, which it's not even like the new one, but it's like
- 13:02the next type of thing or whatever.
- 13:05Yeah. Where it's like they're all
- 13:07actors except for one person. But Oh my gosh, watching.
- 13:11And I was like, I wish we would have watched Jury Duty with
- 13:13Bethany and Bobby because I'm like, this is so funny.
- 13:18Laughing with other people who actually think the same things
- 13:21you're you're talking or you're watching are funny, you know?
- 13:24Yeah, you and Casey are very similar to when you were
- 13:26watching shows. Like I'm not usually like an LOL
- 13:28person that's actually laughing out loud.
- 13:30Like I'll giggle a little bit. Like while I'm watching.
- 13:33He is full blown, like I'm trying not to like scream and
- 13:37blow people's ears out, but he's sitting next to me and I'm so
- 13:41glad he finds something so funny.
- 13:42But like there will be something that he just keeps laughing and
- 13:46I'm like, OK, that was 1010 minutes ago why?
- 13:50Why are we still laughing? But.
- 13:54I love, I think that's so healthy for you to like laugh
- 13:57where you're like almost crying. Oh my gosh, I feel like that's
- 14:01every. That's like why we also love
- 14:03hanging out with each other is we're constantly laughing.
- 14:06That's like the one time when we went to this is one of your best
- 14:08laughs. I've I've heard where we're
- 14:10going to get ice cream and you have me start singing can.
- 14:17You sing that. Can you can you please start
- 14:20singing it right now? Staring at the blank poo before
- 14:26you, that's how it goes. OK, yeah, but when we were in
- 14:30the car, so that song staring the blank page before you, it
- 14:35was like this trainer news like song I feel like.
- 14:40And then the last one was. Pony.
- 14:43Pony Pony Club. So each one has kind of had it's
- 14:46like own song, which is really fun.
- 14:48So we just kept singing it over and over again.
- 14:50And we're on our way to get ice cream and Bethany and I are in
- 14:53the backseat and she was just like, she's like, you're
- 14:56actually like a pretty good singer, but you came out with it
- 14:59so flat. You were like staring at the
- 15:03blank page and all of us started geeking out.
- 15:07Even Bobby, like Bobby always giggles and laughs with us, but
- 15:10even he was like oh boy. And I just cackled the the other
- 15:17time. I think that we both got both of
- 15:19our laughs out that were like, I've never heard that laugh
- 15:21before. It was our reverse singing.
- 15:24Oh my God those are so hilarious.
- 15:28I've never laughed like that my whole life that much.
- 15:31Like we literally needed to like, catch our breath in
- 15:33between songs because we. Were packing up something I've
- 15:36never laughed that much. That was like such a core
- 15:39exercise. It was unbelievable it.
- 15:42Was so funny because we tried to do it.
- 15:44We did a couple, so when you're first initially doing it, it's
- 15:47so funny, but then we tried to obsessed and then I tried doing
- 15:50it with Casey it. Wasn't funny.
- 15:52Doing it with Casey? Not the same, because no, it was
- 15:54not. The.
- 15:55Same. Because he took it too
- 15:57seriously. He's like the music guy.
- 15:59So he's thinking like, you know, rhythm.
- 16:02And I'm like, no, this is like, let's just go back to the ones
- 16:05that we did and just keep rewatching those.
- 16:09That's so funny. Man.
- 16:11Why do you start watching that? Because I saw the newer season
- 16:14or whatever setup they're doing. Yeah, I was like.
- 16:18I don't know, I can't really get into it with the trailer but I
- 16:21was remembering I just saw the. Trailer of the new one.
- 16:24Oh yeah. I haven't even seen anything
- 16:26about the new one. The only reason it got brought
- 16:27up is Steph had asked us at our workout yesterday if we watched
- 16:31it because we had talked about jury duty a while back.
- 16:34I'm like, I didn't even know there was like a second season.
- 16:37So now I'm. Excited.
- 16:38I need to go watch the second, the first one again because it
- 16:40was so funny. I love stuff like that.
- 16:43Yeah. Me too.
- 16:44How was your day? What?
- 16:45Tell me something you loved about your day.
- 16:47Oh, you know, it's weird. I feel like I started thinking
- 16:52about laughing so hard that like my nose gets runny.
- 16:54It just started getting runny. OK thing I loved about today
- 17:00we're. Recording a podcast, you guys.
- 17:02This man has the audacity to be behind me on his computer with
- 17:07it on loud and it's dinging left and right and I'm so distracted.
- 17:13He just asked me if you can grab a treat, grab whatever you need
- 17:17and get out of here. Just kidding, but OK.
- 17:22So tell me something you loved about your day because normally
- 17:24when we eat in the morning and I've actually wanted to ask you
- 17:26that, like tell me something that made you happy today.
- 17:29Oh, I like that. Well, my lemons on my lemon
- 17:31tree, Lorna, my new one. Lorna, Yeah.
- 17:35Do you? Did you watch?
- 17:36Oh, my gosh. This makes this sound like all
- 17:39we talk about is shows. Thank you so much.
- 17:43The Lincoln Lawyer, the show Lorna.
- 17:46Lorna, I love her and she gives like lemon tree vibes.
- 17:51Is that how you got it? Well, no.
- 17:53So I thought of Lorne because I was thinking of.
- 17:55Outright. Probably.
- 17:57Yeah. Yeah.
- 17:58And then I started rewatch or finishing watching the first one
- 18:01or no, no, whatever season is. On yeah, it's season 3 just came
- 18:04out like of recent OK. I'm trying to finish Season 2.
- 18:07I was like, Oh my God. Her name's Lorna.
- 18:09Yeah, it is because I've been trying to really notice things
- 18:13throughout my day. This is something.
- 18:15Oh, like notice little gems. I think I'm going to say like
- 18:18notice stuff like if you were apparently he wants to be a part
- 18:23of the podcast. And you have to remember most
- 18:25people don't watch it video wise.
- 18:27So you just coming up silent with your glass of chocolate
- 18:29milk? Casey, you want to be a part of
- 18:31our podcast? Hey, what's up?
- 18:34He's. Having he's having FOMO.
- 18:37What's going on? Look at the size difference of
- 18:40our heads. I have a gigantic.
- 18:43I do too, though, yeah. I mean they're.
- 18:45Yeah, they're, we've got some. Big heads around here, I'm just.
- 18:49I'm just getting ready to record my podcast soon.
- 18:54Wait wait wait. Is it the one where you just
- 18:57talk about the most random bangs?
- 19:00Yeah, I think, I think I'm going to do the first one when she's
- 19:03gone because I I just don't know how that's going to go.
- 19:05Yeah, wait, can I just tell you again?
- 19:07I know, I texted. This all about her?
- 19:09She's laughing. Oh my God, I'm crying.
- 19:12That reel you shared, I swear to God that's the funniest thing
- 19:16I've ever seen in my whole. Life.
- 19:17OK. That is the I think the best
- 19:19thing about that is you would know the suit that was truly
- 19:22Casey. Yes, that's so.
- 19:24Weird. Which is the like the point, the
- 19:27fact that you pointed out the shoulders in our group text.
- 19:29I was like, it was so true. He's like.
- 19:32Relaxing. I can't believe that I
- 19:37screenshot it when I just wanted to say Shank.
- 19:39I didn't really. Shank, Shank.
- 19:43I didn't even catch that I. Didn't either I just I was
- 19:47trying to figure out when to screenshot it it.
- 19:50Just because I literally go and he goes and we do Shank and I'm
- 19:55like, I'm like, what is Shane? I'd like to know more about this
- 19:58service. We were going to lunch and I'm
- 20:00standing at the door watching it again and I'm just laughing
- 20:03hysterically and Poppy's looking at me like Oh my God, what is
- 20:06going on? Well.
- 20:08Also the funny part about it is I didn't even see it before he
- 20:10posted it. I had no idea what was on that.
- 20:13The only thing I did know is when I so the beginning part how
- 20:17it's me? I didn't know.
- 20:18He was recording. I had no idea he was recording.
- 20:22The other thing I didn't point on is social media.
- 20:24He just had it rolling. And so he's like, can you come
- 20:26down here and help me? Which I was actually shocked
- 20:28because normally it's like if he's doing a video thing, he
- 20:31kind of wants me like out of the way, which I totally get.
- 20:33I totally get. So when he calls me down to help
- 20:35him like he must be struggling because he does not normally
- 20:40want me down there. I was so good there when you
- 20:42were like, so easy. So easy.
- 20:45So I had no idea he was filming and I don't even care.
- 20:47Like what I looked like, but I was not wearing a bra.
- 20:50So I'm like, Oh my gosh, I'm like, I'm like, good thing I
- 20:53don't have much going for me there because I'm like, like
- 20:56things are just all over the place.
- 20:58I had to cut out so many swear words that I was just.
- 21:03That you were saying? Yeah, because every, every time
- 21:06I lose my train of thought, which was every 2 1/2 seconds.
- 21:10You didn't. You never had a thought
- 21:11straight. That's yeah.
- 21:12You never had a handle on them. F left and right.
- 21:15What am I doing? Yeah, I think the best part is
- 21:19at the end, if you're watching him and he finally gets like,
- 21:23you know, something like he says something clear of like, you
- 21:27know, but his face looks like he might vomit.
- 21:30Like if you rewatch, just rewatch the end.
- 21:33He's like, you know, thank you and whatever.
- 21:35And in my mind, I'm like, I know him so well.
- 21:38I'm like, he looks like he's about to have a panic attack or
- 21:40throw up one of the two. I thought I was like, Oh my God,
- 21:44I wish I was in that room and they were doing it.
- 21:47Yeah, oh, it was so fun. Hilarious.
- 21:50And then the I love the editing where the last part is like, all
- 21:54right, call us when you want help with your project.
- 21:57Can't wait to work with you and. Then he goes, and then at the
- 22:00end he goes. Nailed it.
- 22:01Yeah. I was like, yeah, that was.
- 22:03Good. That was good.
- 22:07Oh man, it's actually funny. My hairdresser today, she's
- 22:10like, I barely go on Instagram anymore and she's like, and I
- 22:13wouldn't like normally see your husband's stuff, but Casey's
- 22:16video popped up and she's like, I thought it was so funny.
- 22:18So please tell him. I was like, I will.
- 22:21You got to do more stuff like that.
- 22:22It's so pure, and that is what literally.
- 22:24Means. Yeah, I think people like the
- 22:26authenticity of because they were.
- 22:28It's real. They've.
- 22:29All been there. Yeah, I also love where you said
- 22:33this is my smoker. Laugh is coming out.
- 22:35I love it. I don't smoke, but whatever.
- 22:37But where you do your story, which I love, and then you're
- 22:41and then you stare. Share the screenshot of like,
- 22:44how would you think you're taking a video, but you just
- 22:46take a picture. It's just your face looking.
- 22:51And I just responded to that story when he posted that.
- 22:54I just go Nope. OK, in the kennel room.
- 23:00OK, bye. I don't remember what we were
- 23:03talking about again. Oh my God.
- 23:06Oh man. Yeah, made.
- 23:07Me. Laugh, laugh.
- 23:09Oh good, OK, your your lemon tree.
- 23:13Oh yeah, maybe sometimes they're like getting a little bigger.
- 23:15I can see them growing. Like there's a little cluster of
- 23:18them and I'm like, Oh my God, I can't believe it's actually
- 23:20becoming lemons. Does a tree like that, like stay
- 23:23the height that it is or does it a little bigger?
- 23:26OK, all right. And like how many lemons will
- 23:29like get on it? I know I don't know like I
- 23:32because it can't hold so many so there are a lot of little like
- 23:34the flowers turn into the little lemons so but some of them will
- 23:39drop off but I guess the tree knows and it like thins itself.
- 23:44Sweet. I just, I've really been trying
- 23:46to like pay attention to stuff like that, hence why I saw the
- 23:49little, I noticed the little pink bracelet where when I see
- 23:52stuff like that, I'm like, why? Why am I?
- 23:55Why is this in my path today? This is where my head goes,
- 23:58yeah. No, I get that.
- 23:59I can, I can, I can relate something that we're doing.
- 24:04This isn't about the day, but your lemon tree made me think
- 24:07about it is, you know, like the middle section of like where
- 24:10some trees are right on like our main hill area, but it's like
- 24:14you wouldn't go walking through there.
- 24:15It's just like brush and it's like right behind our our house.
- 24:19So it's the grassy area. And then like right below it is
- 24:22like, yes, woods basically, but you wouldn't go into it.
- 24:25So we want to make it into like a wildflower Meadow.
- 24:31So Casey did they, I don't know if you guys do this thing in
- 24:33Florida, probably not. But this time of year they do
- 24:36like prescribed burns around here where they like burn the
- 24:41fields and like grass down for like the endangered species that
- 24:45aren't supposed to be here. And I guess it helps, I don't
- 24:47know, something with the grass growing into the next season.
- 24:50So Casey did a burn in our backyard area so that the
- 24:56wildflowers will have like a habitat that they can like
- 24:58actually grow and stuff. So he ordered specific
- 25:01wildflowers and this Meadow grass he wants to put in there
- 25:05so. That's so great.
- 25:07Yeah. It's so much fun seeing like,
- 25:10when sprouts come up. Like I remember my friend who
- 25:12got me into gardening and chickens, and she was like, Oh
- 25:15my God, just wait. You're going to want to go out
- 25:16in the morning with your coffee and like see what sprouting.
- 25:19Basket. My what?
- 25:22Chicken eggs. Yep, Yep.
- 25:24It just makes it's a whole vibe. Our tulips are starting to pop
- 25:26up. Not the colored yet, but they're
- 25:28starting to gross. So we're getting into that
- 25:30season. We had 78° day yesterday.
- 25:34Yeah, it's 46 today. It's so weird.
- 25:36Today's 46 and it was raining, but now the sun's coming out.
- 25:39I spring around here is like, talk about someone having
- 25:46multiple personalities or having mood swings.
- 25:49Mother Nature in Wisconsin in the spring.
- 25:52She cannot decide what she wants to do.
- 25:54But you know what? Also fair because she just had
- 25:57to deal with like cold for so long that she's probably just
- 26:02trying to re regulate. Yeah, that makes sense.
- 26:04I just, when I word it that way, it makes me less, what's the
- 26:10word sour? And like, what's the word where
- 26:14you like, chip on your shoulder just like, yeah, about the
- 26:18weather. Cuz then I make it sound like
- 26:20Mother Nature's trying to like get her shit together.
- 26:23So then I, I, I want her to, I want her to do well.
- 26:26You wish Mother Nature well. Yes.
- 26:30Another thing, when I was at my hair appointment, she's like, I
- 26:33saw that you and your friend was doing a podcast.
- 26:35She's like, I don't have a dog. She's like, is it all about dog
- 26:37training? I'm like honestly, we barely
- 26:40touch on dog training here and there.
- 26:42I'm like, we'll talk about like owner and dog topics, but I'm
- 26:46like, so we might be disappointing some people that
- 26:48were like coming here like 2 dog trainers doing a podcast, but
- 26:52I'm like, it's really just like 2 friends that met through dog
- 26:55training that are doing a podcast.
- 26:58She's like perfect. Then I'm definitely gonna
- 27:00listen. Yeah, cuz I wanted to tell you
- 27:02about an owner thing and then part of me was like I don't know
- 27:04cuz I don't think she listens to this podcast and I never want to
- 27:07make an owner feel bad. I.
- 27:08Know yeah. So it's even some topics that we
- 27:11talk about like I know certain owners will think we're talking
- 27:15about them. Yeah.
- 27:16And so I was just like, that's I think a reminder for we're going
- 27:20to talk about topics, just like topics I hear about on podcasts.
- 27:23And I will always connect it to me because even if like we're
- 27:28always thinking about ourselves, like not in a weird, creepy way,
- 27:31but like if I'm listening to a podcast and I hear there's this
- 27:34one I listen to that people literally call in and they do
- 27:37live questions with the host and the person gives them, you know,
- 27:41feedback. I always think about like, Oh
- 27:43yeah, I had a situation like that once and literally make it
- 27:46about me. So I hope if there's any
- 27:48specific specifically if we talk about like tougher topics or
- 27:52like, you know, dogs that are like, you know, giving their
- 27:56owners a hard time or owners that aren't like maybe showing
- 27:59up the way that they should be. If you are feeling like that's
- 28:04about you, that's OK it, but it probably is not like just a
- 28:08preface that like the couple of owners that I've told you about,
- 28:11I've been like, hey, you listening cuz like I'm talking
- 28:14about your dog because he's a screwball or whatever.
- 28:16Yeah, but. I know what you mean about the
- 28:19owners and like, but that's also something I was thinking about
- 28:22this morning. I was talking to Bobby about
- 28:24something with his business and I was like, you know, this makes
- 28:26me think about this really great thing Kate said when she was
- 28:30like, I know when she said, you know, whenever you say something
- 28:36to someone or set a boundary or whatever, they're an adult like
- 28:40you, they'll take it how they're going to take it.
- 28:42And that's not like your responsibility.
- 28:44So I think with this, it just touches on because I also think
- 28:48if a trainer's listening and I also want to be super authentic
- 28:51and not share too much all the time.
- 28:53But I I got a text from the same owner who her dog bit someone
- 29:01and. You guys met in person, correct?
- 29:03No, she cancelled OK, OK. And she's like 3 1/2 four hours
- 29:07away. So I, I had it, it's a Trek, but
- 29:11cancelled two days before and I was like, oh, that's, I mean, my
- 29:13schedule's not super busy right now, so, but.
- 29:16Whatever. That also doesn't matter.
- 29:17I know. I totally get that.
- 29:19Yeah, I know that I'm making excuses for her.
- 29:23Yeah, that's OK. I mean, people have to cancel
- 29:26things too. Yes, of course, but my time is
- 29:28important no matter if I have a schedule or not.
- 29:31So yesterday's sheets is about a week later she texts me a long
- 29:35thing about a terrible walk that happened and she's telling me
- 29:39about the level she used or whatever.
- 29:41And now am I like and this is the thing about communication
- 29:44and also with I think the lines of I love becoming friends with
- 29:48owners I work with. But then, and this is the first
- 29:50time this has happened. So over 9 years, I think that's
- 29:54not too bad. But where the lines of like
- 30:01being a dog trainer and that person that she hired and then
- 30:05also a friend who she's also been very supportive of things I
- 30:08do and all of that, they're blurred where when she sends me
- 30:11this long text message, I'm just the type of person where I
- 30:14can't, I communicate through my text, which has always been
- 30:17fine. I don't have a separate thing
- 30:19for owners. But I immediately get like a a
- 30:23bad feeling when I read her text.
- 30:25So then it throws my whole day off.
- 30:26So then I'm thinking, OK, so because she's being impulsive in
- 30:30the moment and right after the walk she's texting me.
- 30:32And I'm impulsive to a certain extent, but I don't know of
- 30:35anyone that I like just unload everything on someone.
- 30:38And just just for my selfish purposes to Bobby, I do.
- 30:42But that's his job to a certain extent.
- 30:44He chose that life. Yeah.
- 30:47Like, like I, I very much agree with that.
- 30:50Like I, you know, I even have like for you, if there's
- 30:54something I wanted to talk to you about that, like I needed to
- 30:57kind of unload, I would check in.
- 30:59I know you'd be there for me, but that's so different.
- 31:02But there's even like I'll even check in like with my sister who
- 31:05I'm literally so close to that if it's like, you know, I don't
- 31:11want to just ever like I don't know what that that person's day
- 31:13is starting like, you know, yeah, I would rather it be like,
- 31:17hey, I have something that I need to kind of like unload.
- 31:20Do you have the space for it right now?
- 31:22Like or in? Most people will say yes.
- 31:26Yeah. But like those novel messages,
- 31:30they they are triggering, I feel like, and so I know exactly what
- 31:34you're saying. Yeah, so I think I am going to
- 31:36because I'm on my laptop and I am also slightly impulsive and
- 31:39also my instinct, I hate when I have an unanswered text
- 31:43messages. This is why I have to put my
- 31:45phone on do not disturb. So I don't even see it pop up
- 31:47because I my instinct is to answer it.
- 31:49Yeah, so I'm on my laptop working on something and I'm a
- 31:52little worked up and I should not have responded and it was
- 31:55totally fine. It was more like.
- 31:57Can I ask a question? Yes, please.
- 31:58Did it feel like the unloading was like, and maybe this is not
- 32:05the person's intention, but I've been in that position.
- 32:08Did it feel almost kind of like almost blaming on you of kind of
- 32:12like, how could like, how could a walk be so bad?
- 32:14Like This is why we did training.
- 32:16This is like any of that. Or was it?
- 32:18None of that. It's more I think he needs a
- 32:21board and train reset because I mentioned like a.
- 32:25Refresh. Like, yeah, like a refresh.
- 32:28The thing about this dog in the situation is he, he's the one of
- 32:31two dogs I've ever worked with who never reacted around me.
- 32:34And so we went through all of that of like, Oh my God, he's
- 32:37not reacting with you. You must think I'm crazy.
- 32:40And it's like, no, no, no, it's just some dogs are.
- 32:42They're so that type of situation is so hard.
- 32:45So hard. Because you cannot fix.
- 32:48I could not get him to react even around the owner so.
- 32:54So my thing now is I don't just want to charge for a refresh.
- 32:58Could I do that? Sure, but it's not going to get
- 33:00the. The problem is not the dog, The
- 33:01problem is her feeling confident using the E caller, how I've
- 33:06taught her to So then she so in this whole long novel of a text,
- 33:12which I get you're upset, whatever, but talks about that.
- 33:16I also know it's me, but I'm I would like to drive up.
- 33:20I know I cancelled last time. I won't this time.
- 33:22Let me know before may when you have some time and I'll come
- 33:25down like fine. So I actually send her a text
- 33:27because it's really easy to type on a text when you're on your
- 33:29laptop and tell her things I've told her before.
- 33:33And then and then I started thinking, Oh, I shouldn't even
- 33:36like I shouldn't have responded. I shouldn't have sent those
- 33:39texts. I should have thought about it.
- 33:41I need to set a clear boundary of not reciprocating with a
- 33:45novel of an answer and also setting a boundary or even being
- 33:50short. And I sometimes I worry that
- 33:52it's going to come across as me being me.
- 33:55I don't know. It's so stupid.
- 33:56But it's like this is where the lines have been blurred because
- 33:58I set really good boundaries. But then when it gets blurry,
- 34:00it's like it's hard to set that boundary.
- 34:03And then I'm aggravated cuz now I have to set that boundary.
- 34:07Why didn't we think about this before?
- 34:08So anyway, so I've just not been responding as much to the text
- 34:15that she sent me. I'll say something really clear.
- 34:17Great, let me know if that date works or then she sent something
- 34:21where it was like I might be able to come.
- 34:23I'll let you know about the 20th dot dot dot.
- 34:25Which is upsetting to me too because it's like, no, this
- 34:28shouldn't be an afterthought. If you're really struggling, I
- 34:30want you to commit to it. All the other owners I've ever
- 34:32worked with, if they're going to set up a follow up session, it's
- 34:35not like a maybe you know, we'll do this.
- 34:38It's more when can I set this up with?
- 34:40You and then don't come to me when something's so heightened
- 34:43and feels so intense and feels so like, Oh my gosh, like this
- 34:47is like such an emergency right now.
- 34:50And then be like, well, I'll see if it can work like that is like
- 34:53I I and again, I think it's because we care so much about
- 34:56the dogs and people that we work with.
- 34:58It's that's why it feels like, you know, sometimes like
- 35:02blatantly like not thought through of like the fact that
- 35:06you're sending this to a human who you have no idea where
- 35:10you're meeting them at at that point of their day.
- 35:13Like, and how something that feels negative for you, the
- 35:16owner is also going to feel negative for us.
- 35:18So that's being put into our space without us having that
- 35:22option and that choice. So it's like, that's OK.
- 35:27And you need to also step up just as much.
- 35:31And it's like, if those are the dates, you know, not even just
- 35:33the dates, but it's like, no wishy washy Then because you
- 35:36were saying you were asking, you spoke what you needed.
- 35:39And that's, I think I need to refresh.
- 35:41We need to get together in person.
- 35:43You gave the feedback of here's what we can do.
- 35:46And then we go to wishy washy. I've, I totally feel that like
- 35:50that almost feels more draining than like perfect.
- 35:55I'm putting it on the schedule like thank you so much.
- 35:57I almost can like immediately erase that that reactionary text
- 36:01came through If it's just like, yes, thank you so much for like
- 36:05talking off the ledge. We're yes, we'll figure this out
- 36:07together. I appreciate your time.
- 36:09I'm going to come for that refresh over this time that
- 36:11would have probably made you been like, OK, cool.
- 36:14But now you're like, now it has an inky feeling.
- 36:19Yes, because then in my text I sent to her, which I've said to
- 36:22her before. So then this also this comes
- 36:24down to me. This is really meets talking us
- 36:25through and I know I need to communicate clearly because I
- 36:28just haven't been. So I sent her the text of the
- 36:32things and it's like dialing up instead of nagging the dog, this
- 36:35kind of thing. Sure enough, she goes out on
- 36:36another walk, uses a level I told her to the dog walks great
- 36:40on the walk. So this is the thing that like
- 36:43it's been happening a few times where it's like, you know what
- 36:46you should do? Do you want to drive up here 4
- 36:48hours and go over this in person?
- 36:50Fine, I will do that with you. But it's this back and forth of
- 36:53sending me this long message that gets me emotionally
- 36:56involved. And also I really like this dog
- 36:58and this owner, but I'm also frustrated and this is the human
- 37:01part of being a dog trainer and trying to like figure out, OK, I
- 37:04don't want to hurt her feelings. But I also, if you're, if you
- 37:08have any people pleaser in you when a line has been blurred and
- 37:11it's been great for the most part, it's like in any
- 37:13relationship. And then you get to a point
- 37:15where it's like, fuck, I don't want to draw this line in the
- 37:18sand. I don't want to create this
- 37:19boundary. But everything comes back to
- 37:21communication. You're also like I'm.
- 37:23Feeling forced to like I know I have to yes yeah, which I feel
- 37:28I'm. Aware of this but then it's I
- 37:30did it to myself. It's so relatable, and I think
- 37:31that that's the thing. That's like the fact that you
- 37:33said this is the first time it's happened in nine years.
- 37:36Yeah, I like. We're doing OK.
- 37:39I feel the same, like I feel the same way.
- 37:41It's once in a while. I think I've gotten it a little
- 37:43bit more than that in different ways.
- 37:46Like just, you know, I, I feel like, you know, I also feel
- 37:54like, I think we talked about this once that sometimes I'm not
- 37:56as we're so different in the way of like, I feel like I come
- 38:00across a little bit more of the tough love one, but I think I
- 38:04let more blurred lines than you do.
- 38:06And that's one thing I yes, because I remember telling you
- 38:09I'm like you even the thing about like people wouldn't
- 38:12necessarily know this from you is you're so good with
- 38:14boundaries and you're so good with like drawing the line in
- 38:16the sand, even like with certain things of like that woman.
- 38:19We talked about the boomers that you guys had dinner with.
- 38:22Oh. Yeah.
- 38:23I would have immediately if she texted me that of being like,
- 38:26you know, I'm I would have, I've been like, no, no, no, no, like
- 38:30it's just totally me. Like that's where I I don't
- 38:33think that's people pleasing. I think it's almost like, I
- 38:36don't know what that is, but I would feel like I don't want to
- 38:39make someone feel bad, but I don't think how you would.
- 38:41Play like I don't, I don't have a relationship with them, so I'm
- 38:45like, when am I going to see the?
- 38:46Boomers and but even how you said it like it wasn't, it
- 38:49wasn't mean, it wasn't rude, but it was.
- 38:52Straightforward. To a certain extent.
- 38:54I wish I was not like that. I was just talking with Bobby
- 38:56about this with it's. So funny, like I think it's like
- 38:58I like idolize that about you or like not idolize, but you know
- 39:01what I mean? Like I what's I can't come up
- 39:04with words today. Look up to that.
- 39:06Yeah, I. Characteristic or something?
- 39:09I admire that about you. I admire yes, yes, well, cuz we
- 39:12were we went to so my mom wanted me.
- 39:15She wanted us to come over for Easter dinner and I'm like like
- 39:19I not because it's Easter, but just holidays to me suck.
- 39:22I just don't like them. I don't I hope that goes away at
- 39:24some point, but my instinct is I don't want any holidays to feel
- 39:27like they used to. So I don't want, it just makes
- 39:30me I. Don't want to try to keep doing
- 39:31the traditions. I don't like.
- 39:33It's like they're not traditions anymore.
- 39:35No, because he's not saying my dad's not there.
- 39:37And it just makes me think of that so.
- 39:40But this is me thinking about myself.
- 39:42And so I texted my mom, Oh, sure, we'll come over.
- 39:46Could you make, could you make chicken?
- 39:48What did I say? Could you make fried chicken?
- 39:50And I said, Bobby's craving it. He wasn't.
- 39:52I mean, he always is. I was like.
- 39:54I like fried chicken. And yours is so great and I can
- 39:58bring some brown butter cookies or something.
- 40:00And I, I know my mom so well that I'm like, I know she's not
- 40:04going to do that. And do you want me to make like,
- 40:06did she want to make her? Yes.
- 40:09The ham, the casserole she used to make, the green beans,
- 40:13whatever. Well, we always did.
- 40:16She always did. And so I knew she was going to
- 40:19say no and I was already upset. She said no.
- 40:22She said no and in a nice way but like it's always like and
- 40:27this doesn't mean anything but like if she sends a text and it
- 40:29says edit it and I'm like oh Jesus.
- 40:30She was like thinking about this for a while, She's going to
- 40:33upset me, but. She knows how to edit a text.
- 40:36Oh yeah. That's, I mean, you're almost in
- 40:38her 70s, right? Yeah.
- 40:40Go off Mom 50. Yeah, but I know when it says
- 40:43edited because she just overthinks things and it's fine.
- 40:45She's trying to be nice. But then I started thinking I
- 40:49was talking with Bobby, and this is when, like, I unload
- 40:51everything on him. It's just part of what he, you
- 40:53know, it's to sign up for it, basically.
- 40:57So we're talking on the back porch and I'm like, Oh my God,
- 41:00I'm doing exactly like her. What she's doing, she's trying
- 41:04to hold on to what makes her feel good.
- 41:06With my dad being gone, I'm trying to do things that make me
- 41:09feel good. So I'm like.
- 41:11So then I started thinking like, that's a good.
- 41:13Realization though, I'm talking to be a mad.
- 41:17I know and I was for a bit. It woke me up at 3:00 AM.
- 41:19This is where I can't. Anytime I get upset it just gets
- 41:22me up at 3:00 AM and I start thinking about.
- 41:25I also had a a dream where Bobby broke up with me.
- 41:29Again, OK, Yeah, you need to get it together.
- 41:33By the way, I think that's like a finances thing.
- 41:36It's like me nervous about because always in those dreams I
- 41:39end up on my mom's couch and my mom is thrilled.
- 41:42But like I'm like, how am I going to make money?
- 41:45Who's going to help me? I'm I need to train more dogs?
- 41:47Like how am I going to make money house?
- 41:52Like it's just it goes into this in my dream.
- 41:54So anyway, so but then I started thinking, Oh my God, I'm going
- 41:59to have to talk with my mom and be honest with her about if I
- 42:02don't, I can't just say I can't ever go to a holiday.
- 42:05And I also because this time I was like, well, my new this is
- 42:11terrible. Don't no one follow this advice.
- 42:13But I'm like, I'm going to have to be a little tipsy.
- 42:16Here's the thing a little Well, First off, I don't know if
- 42:19you're asking for advice. No.
- 42:21Well, go ahead. So my thought is, is just like
- 42:25you and your mom had like your kind of come to Jesus talk.
- 42:27I think you just need to tell her how they make you feel and
- 42:30then and then let her say like you could just be like mom, I
- 42:36have to tell you like I'm struggling with holidays
- 42:39probably in the exact same reason you are.
- 42:41But trying to keep like the normalcy of it is almost making
- 42:44it worse. And I just want to be open with
- 42:46you about that and then let her respond.
- 42:48OK, that's great, because you can't.
- 42:50How can someone fault you for how you feel?
- 42:52Yeah, because then you're not asking her in that point to
- 42:56change anything. You're just telling her how it
- 42:57makes you feel. OK, yes.
- 42:59And then if she's like, OK, like I totally get that, but like for
- 43:02me, I need to have like the traditions that we do.
- 43:05However, she's going to respond, yeah, it's like, OK, and I also
- 43:08respect that. And maybe you could even say
- 43:10like for some holidays, like can we maybe do like every other
- 43:15where like maybe you guys host it for something and like do
- 43:17something completely different or like, let's go out to dinner
- 43:20for this holiday or let's you know, yeah, yeah.
- 43:23Try to do something where it's like kind of meeting in the in
- 43:25the middle for both of you because you're both grieving and
- 43:28it's not like 2 it you guys are on the same team here.
- 43:31This is not and this is so similar to like the dog training
- 43:35stuff is where when dogs are struggling with their owners,
- 43:37we're all on the same team. We all want to be, but some
- 43:41things not connecting. So for you and your mom, it's
- 43:44probably just both trying to like protect each other and then
- 43:47protect yourselves. I know, totally.
- 43:49I know. It's so it's so like a that's
- 43:51why I like communication. Everything comes down to
- 43:53communication. Yeah.
- 43:54And so I. Have a harder time and like, do
- 43:56you have a harder time communicating that thing with
- 43:58like your mom versus like if you needed to say something to like
- 44:01me? I yes, yes, because I know with
- 44:05you, you're more open. Well, I think my mom is a little
- 44:08bit more guarded. And I so I'm always thinking
- 44:11like I talked really big on the porch and I'm like, like, why
- 44:14does it have to be like this? And then I get to her house and
- 44:16I'm a total softie and I'm like, I don't know, totally.
- 44:20I yeah, I feel that way too. Like with your parents, I feel
- 44:23like it's a different thing too, because you're like, yeah,
- 44:25you're, you're an adult now, but like you were there, you're
- 44:27still their child. And so like, I don't know, it's
- 44:29just a weird thing to have to have like uncomfortable tough
- 44:33conversations with your parents. Like yes, especially with.
- 44:37The curb set. Yeah, yeah.
- 44:39So I totally get that. We had some bees knees, I made
- 44:42them. Gosh, you did good.
- 44:45You need to send me the recipe that you made because I feel
- 44:47like anytime I've had like, like if I'm like, I think we talked
- 44:50about this, if I'm going to drink, it's got to be like a
- 44:52really delicious craft cocktail. I'm not drinking.
- 44:56No, I'm not drinking to drink. I'm drinking because I want to
- 44:59enjoy it and I don't mind if I got a little tipsy.
- 45:02But then it's like, that's it. So like those bee's knees at
- 45:05that restaurant near your house. Best I've ever had.
- 45:08Best Such a fun drink. You feel like you've gotten them
- 45:12matched. For the most part.
- 45:14So I was getting nervous because then my mom who does not drink
- 45:18like liquor cuz there's some gin in it and she's like, Oh yeah,
- 45:22you can make me one. And I'm like, Oh my God, no, I
- 45:24don't know if you can handle this.
- 45:25It's like, cuz each one called for like 2 ounces of gin, which
- 45:30I wasn't. I felt like I know the ones that
- 45:32Damu was like, they were, they were proper.
- 45:35Yeah. So I was like, no.
- 45:37So I kind of cut the recipe down a little cuz I'm like I.
- 45:40Threw your mom. Or hobbling around.
- 45:42I don't know what would happen when you're older and so but it
- 45:46was still good and Bobby, Bobby so funny because it's just the
- 45:50three of us and so also we walk in.
- 45:52I need to start going in and turning on music because I need
- 45:54some kind of sound. Silence.
- 45:56It's. Silent.
- 45:58Just like the boomers over here. I don't understand.
- 46:00No, I will say I grew up very different and than that my
- 46:04parents always had music going. Oh.
- 46:06My dad always had music. On, yes, yeah.
- 46:09So like if there's not music going the TV's on, which I don't
- 46:11really love the TV on because I will say like, especially my
- 46:14dad, they're kind of like TV. Like they'll sit way too long in
- 46:19front of the TV. So like, especially if like
- 46:21we're there and Eloise is there, like I'll be like, turn off the
- 46:23TV, like we're gonna put the music on.
- 46:26But yeah, silent houses, I mean, my house is silent right now,
- 46:30but just because we're recording a podcast.
- 46:31Of course, no. But like so Bobby, he was like
- 46:35kind of being chatty or whatever.
- 46:36We were sitting on the couch and he.
- 46:38Was Bee's knees will do it to you.
- 46:40I know he was like, can I have another?
- 46:43I wish we were there. I know.
- 46:46You have to make bee's knees when you guys come here in
- 46:47August. I know.
- 46:48I mean, it was really good. So and then because my mom, I
- 46:51don't know what happened. She had no ice.
- 46:53She had ice for the first round and then no ice the 2nd.
- 46:56And I'm like, oh, my God, we can't have a warm bee's knees.
- 46:58But she had cold, like, sparkling water.
- 47:02Put some of that in there. That was nice, too.
- 47:04Very flushing. Yeah.
- 47:06So it was nice. But yeah, I mean, not like this
- 47:10for a while. I was like, like, last
- 47:12Thanksgiving. I wasn't drinking.
- 47:13And it was awful. Like, yeah, it's nice to feel
- 47:16things, but also I don't want to feel all those terrible things
- 47:18all the time. Like, no.
- 47:20So anyway, so that really helped.
- 47:21But good, yeah. Yeah, So are you guys going to
- 47:26Easter dinner? So we went this past weekend.
- 47:29Oh, this past. OK, that's the bee's knees
- 47:31night. Yes.
- 47:32So then that was something new. Yeah, so it was nice.
- 47:35Good, good. Yeah, it just made us feel a
- 47:37little lighter. Yeah, whatever, bunsies.
- 47:41And you brought something new over to like share.
- 47:43Love that. Yes.
- 47:44Yeah, I liked that. She was kind of excited about
- 47:46that, so that was fun. It was top one.
- 47:48Yeah. Good.
- 47:49Yeah. OK, good.
- 47:50I love that. I'll send baby the recipe.
- 47:54Yes, please do. Case and I were talking about
- 47:56the other day too. How long do you think you guys
- 47:58are going to come in August? I would I mean because you all
- 48:03were here 3 like 2 1/2 two. OK.
- 48:07Are you guys also just kind of like, how's Charlie doing?
- 48:10He's OK. I was thinking about this
- 48:12yesterday actually. Well, because we have him on
- 48:14medication now, so. You think you would still bring
- 48:18him? Or do you think you would have
- 48:20someone come watch him? Or what do you?
- 48:22I don't know, honestly. Yeah, to be determined if we've
- 48:25got time. Yeah, yeah.
- 48:26To be determined, yeah. Awesome.
- 48:29Yeah. And then you'll have so you have
- 48:31your beach trip before then. So cool.
- 48:35And that'll give you guys probably a better idea on, you
- 48:38know, how he does with having someone watch him and stuff like
- 48:41that because the three dogs are staying back.
- 48:43Yes. And then you're going tomorrow.
- 48:47Are you leaving to go? Yeah, I leave tomorrow to go for
- 48:50a night to visit my sister Eloise.
- 48:53My parents will be there too. We're going to do a belated
- 48:56lunch for my birthday and then I leave bright and early on
- 49:01Thursday. We're there for 2 1/2 days.
- 49:03We get there on Thursday, leave Sunday morning, and then I'll
- 49:07get back. I'll drive back home on Easter.
- 49:11Oh, you're driving there OK. Yeah, driving to where my sister
- 49:16lives and then flying out of that area.
- 49:18And then I'll have like a 2 1/2 hour drive once I get once we
- 49:21land on Sunday. Yeah.
- 49:24Excited to be doing like, yeah. I'm super excited.
- 49:28Yeah, all the training dogs went home.
- 49:29This what's today, Tuesday, yesterday.
- 49:32So we just have some boarding dogs, and that's just, as, you
- 49:35know, easy. You know, we have quite a few
- 49:38right now, but they all know the drill.
- 49:40It's been nice, just so nice getting steps in, walking them,
- 49:43having them play outside. So Casey's down there right now.
- 49:46So him and Kate or him and Mandy will cover that while I'm gone.
- 49:51And he'll do all the pickups on Saturday when they get picked
- 49:53up. And yeah, so it'll be good.
- 49:57What did you have today? I mean, your hair appointment is
- 49:59was that thing that was like really exciting today for you.
- 50:02Yeah, I I love getting my hair done.
- 50:05I don't love sitting for that. I don't love time.
- 50:08But I do really like my hairdresser, so I like chit
- 50:09chatting with her and stuff like that.
- 50:12But yeah, I went, I had a workout over at Steph's this
- 50:16morning and with our friend Lauren, she was there as well.
- 50:19She just got back from Florida, actually with her family for a
- 50:22spring break trip. So caught up with her, came
- 50:24back, had a breakfast and walked some dogs and then headed to my
- 50:27hair appointment. Oh.
- 50:28That's nice. Yeah, See, I got my toes down
- 50:31the other day. Did you?
- 50:33Oh my gosh, that was that the first time since I was there.
- 50:37Yeah. So how was Do your toenails grow
- 50:41fast? Yes.
- 50:43Oh my gosh. So I don't realize it until.
- 50:46So I had my, that same toenail Polish on from when we were in
- 50:48Florida when you and I went and I was in the bath the other day
- 50:52and like the big toe was starting to kind of like peel up
- 50:55a little bit. So then of course, if one starts
- 50:57peeling up, I go to town and like take them all off.
- 51:00I was like, my little toes were so long and I, I didn't even
- 51:06realize it. I was like, Casey, Casey, come
- 51:09look at my toes after I got out of the bathroom and I didn't
- 51:12have any Polish on him. And he's like, oh, oh, honey, do
- 51:15you want me to set up an appointment for you?
- 51:16I'm like, excuse me. So I did my own yesterday.
- 51:20Nice. Or Sunday?
- 51:21Yeah, on Sunday. Oh, OK, so we need to, I was
- 51:24going to say put in the chat if anyone wants, if you've listened
- 51:28this far, if you're still here, let us know what you think about
- 51:31white nail Polish for toes because Kate thinks it's really
- 51:37old. No, I don't say it's old.
- 51:40It's like, no, I just said like it was, I mean, it's like the
- 51:452000 Tens plus. But like I feel like when I was
- 51:49like 23 to 26, everyone was doing white nail Polish and
- 51:56white toes. OK.
- 51:57And now I just feel like it's kind of out.
- 52:02But it doesn't mean you can't do it.
- 52:04Well, I was just like, let's not do like white out on our toes,
- 52:10you know? Which I didn't say you couldn't
- 52:13do it, but. But don't do it.
- 52:15White out on your toes, which by the way, I was getting like the
- 52:19past three times and I felt super cute because I saw a
- 52:22younger girl get it and I was like, Oh my God, she's so cute.
- 52:24I could. Also be 100% wrong and this is
- 52:26my personal opinion. Whatever.
- 52:28I am very easily influenced. So I was like, oh, OK.
- 52:30And then I tried to pick out neon pink that would have lit up
- 52:33the whole room at night. Thank goodness I was there for
- 52:35you. But also like, mine that I did
- 52:40was like a really, really light orange.
- 52:41Mine was borderline white, if we're being honest.
- 52:45Like my toenails, OK, I don't know if it faded, but all I
- 52:49could see, like when I got home was white on my toes.
- 52:52And I'm like, well joke's on me because I told Bethany not to do
- 52:55white and mine look white. Yeah, jokes on you.
- 52:58Yep. So came back to you.
- 52:59Amateur. Because I have no idea.
- 53:01This is where like I think you're very decisive.
- 53:04Like when we went into Target and you're like, let's get this
- 53:06and this and. This I'm like try this on, try
- 53:08this on, Yeah. And I'm like, Oh my God, this is
- 53:10way too overwhelming. We're like with nail Polish.
- 53:13I'm like, OK, I got white. I liked it.
- 53:15Let's just stick with that. So I the times when I've been
- 53:18like, like you want to see all the colors, I'm like, no, just
- 53:21go with white. Yeah, what'd you get this last
- 53:23time? Like a pink.
- 53:24I think it was the same as the last time because I really liked
- 53:27it. Really, Yes.
- 53:28I mean, it was a really good pink, the one that you ended up
- 53:30going. With this one seems a little
- 53:31brighter but I literally she looked at my toes and she was
- 53:36like let me go get that brought over 2 and then one was
- 53:41brighter. I think the neon 1 so.
- 53:42You went with the neon. No, no, okay, the one the last
- 53:46one that it's a little bright though, but anyway.
- 53:48Okay, well, that's okay. I totally forgot everything we
- 53:51talked about. Me too.
- 53:52So the doves I was going to say. Oh my gosh, we're back to the
- 53:56doves. Well, I don't know why.
- 53:58Okay, full circle. Yeah, let's.
- 53:59Say something out loud and then you're like what?
- 54:01You just don't? This isn't even why are you
- 54:04talking about this anyway? When I was about to get chickens
- 54:07and then there were two doves that just fluttered into our
- 54:10backyard next to the garden boxes and I was like, Oh my God,
- 54:13this is a sign. This is what it's going to look
- 54:14like with the chickens. 100% I'm so glad you followed that sign.
- 54:19Yeah, me. Too good.
- 54:21Awesome. Well, I enjoyed this episode AKA
- 54:24catching up with you and talking about random things.
- 54:26Hey, we had some good conversations about dog stuff
- 54:29too. We're basically a dog training
- 54:32podcast. Who knew?
- 54:34Who knew? Oh.
- 54:36My gosh all. Right.
- 54:37Well, I will have obviously more to update you guys on when I
- 54:39come back next week. So that'll be fun to do
- 54:43something. You know what I thought about
- 54:45doing that would be wild is doing something way on my
- 54:49comfort zone, like going up to people, asking to take a video
- 54:53of them while I asked them about their worst fears.
- 54:56OK. But be careful where you're
- 54:57asking those types of questions. Like on Park Ave. maybe?
- 55:00Like, yeah, totally. That's where you should go.
- 55:03Or like regrets. Oh no.
- 55:06Yeah, like what do you regret in your life?
- 55:09Oh my. God, I'm sure some people will
- 55:10be like, EW, I don't want to talk to you.
- 55:12I. Definitely for sure.
- 55:13I would probably, I would freeze if someone asked me that.
- 55:16I don't know, if Someone Like You came up to me, I would
- 55:18probably be fine with it. But like, honestly, if a random
- 55:21man came up to me and asked me to be in a video and I would say
- 55:24absolutely not, I'd be like, don't let the door hit you on
- 55:28the way out. Get out of here well.
- 55:30Because I used to do this when I wanted to be like the dog, have
- 55:32the dog whisperer, the doggist, you know, on Instagram.
- 55:35Yeah, he goes and takes pictures.
- 55:36So I would do that, take pictures of people's dogs.
- 55:38I had an account that lasted for about a month and then and then
- 55:43but one time I feel like I'd do OK if I was ever homeless.
- 55:45Have you ever thought about this?
- 55:47I would not do OK. Well, I think I would.
- 55:51You would not. Are you insane?
- 55:53Well, I don't mean like the taking care of myself part, I
- 55:55mean like finding someone to take care of me kind of a thing
- 55:59and not like a. Sugar, yes, you you'd have
- 56:02plenty of options, but like, if you didn't have a night of a
- 56:06cozy blanket, you would, you would be like, I'm going to go
- 56:10check myself in somewhere. Well, one time and I'm doing
- 56:13this like as if I have no people in my life that I could be like,
- 56:15hey, can I come hang out at your house?
- 56:17I'm homeless, literally. I'd be like pitch bike up to
- 56:19Wisconsin. I know.
- 56:21So I'm sitting outside of Publix to the left and like sitting
- 56:26down on the ground with one of our dogs.
- 56:28This is a while ago, but I'm just sitting there like I look
- 56:30pretty normal, like I'm in workout clothes.
- 56:33I think you told me this. Oh, yeah, Like someone asked if
- 56:35you were like, OK, right. Meanwhile, I just had a cup that
- 56:44I was just like, just holding, like this.
- 56:45Drinking, but just holding. It drops.
- 56:48Do it like you're just like holding it kind of awkwardly
- 56:50out. Yeah, like I'm about to take a
- 56:52sit. Yeah, you're not asking anyone
- 56:54for anything, but you're just kind of like.
- 56:56Just see, what would people do if it's just awkwardly?
- 56:58I know. Oh.
- 56:59My gosh, bring Johnny because he can have kind of like a sad
- 57:03face. You know, people are like but
- 57:05don't have him on like a bougie bio thing leash.
- 57:07You need to have him on like. A chain A.
- 57:09Chain, Oh my gosh, can you please test?
- 57:14And Bobby is going to be like, no, Bethany, please do this and
- 57:18don't ride your bike over or something because it's like you
- 57:20have a nice bike. Take Bobby's old bike down,
- 57:24throwing at the skinny wheels. Bring his.
- 57:31Surfboard with you. And just like, sit outside with
- 57:33the surfboard. Oh my God, Oh my.
- 57:37God put on some self Tanner that looks like I'm slightly burnt
- 57:40disheveled. Yes, just like still wearing
- 57:44Lululemon. Like something happened to me.
- 57:46All the people who have been watching these murdery shows are
- 57:48going to be like, like, shit, how can I help you?
- 57:51Yeah. Especially with the change dog.
- 57:54It's. So bad.
- 57:59OK, so I'm going to Savannah and you're going to be setting up
- 58:03your chained dog. Didn't see if anyone will help
- 58:05you. Yeah.
- 58:06It's just perfect. It's fun put like a secret
- 58:09camera. Oh, I love it.
- 58:11Oh my gosh. So it's just like a it's just an
- 58:13experiment, a social experiment. Well I like them when I'm asking
- 58:16people questions cuz that would really Get Me Out of my.
- 58:19Comfort. Bring your little.
- 58:20Mics bring your little. Mics, I can't be like, can you,
- 58:24can I put this mic on your shirt?
- 58:26Hold it or just hold it? Yep.
- 58:28I'm telling you, I think great thing I, I have this theory.
- 58:32OK, so I have this quick theory where people who do really well
- 58:35in life or like really go after their dreams or whatever.
- 58:38This is probably not very true, but I think so.
- 58:40So it's people who are doing things other people will not do.
- 58:45And I think one of the number one things most people do not
- 58:48want to do is go up to someone with a kid.
- 58:50Talk to strangers. Yeah, talk to strangers.
- 58:53Talk to strangers 100%. I know so, but if you think.
- 58:57About it, we end up talking to strangers all the time, like
- 59:02people that come and drop their dogs off to us even though we
- 59:04don't feel like strangers to them because they've been
- 59:06watching us and, you know, getting used to seeing our
- 59:09stuff. And even though we talked to
- 59:10them through like emails, there's strangers showing up.
- 59:13We have, for the most part, usually have no idea who's
- 59:16showing up, what they look like, what their dog looks like,
- 59:18unless they like, have an Instagram or they're posting
- 59:20stuff that's not private. Could I do some creeping?
- 59:23Of course. Whenever people apply, yeah,
- 59:26Most of the time strangers are coming to our home.
- 59:28But they really like you. Can you imagine going up to
- 59:30someone outside of the CVS and being like just walking up next?
- 59:34To I am like to I couldn't. Like, I think that's you're
- 59:40gonna be more successful than me.
- 59:41I couldn't do it. I mean, I could, but I really
- 59:44don't want to. Well, I wish I could have Casey
- 59:47coming along with like the camera.
- 59:48Oh my God. You too.
- 59:50Yeah. OK, next time we come to visit
- 59:53Park Ave. Bethany and Casey, like he
- 59:55already gets a whole vibe going down in Park Ave.
- 59:58He. Has such a vibe so.
- 59:59Between the two of you, you guys won't be nervous.
- 1:00:01No, we just feed off of each other's.
- 1:00:03I would. I want to watch.
- 1:00:04Bobby and I will grab a coffee and we'll sit at a park bench
- 1:00:07and watch from the far like that's, that's where I'll be.
- 1:00:11My God, Can you imagine? We'd have so many stories.
- 1:00:14Oh my gosh, you would just do it for the pod just to bring a good
- 1:00:18story here. All right, so I might do it.
- 1:00:20Once you're going to have to do it with Bobby, just get him on
- 1:00:23board, no. No, no, he wouldn't do it.
- 1:00:25It's just like when I went to go take pictures of dogs.
- 1:00:27He would come to Park Ave. with me, but he's like, he wasn't
- 1:00:29right there with me. But what I'm saying is, who's
- 1:00:31going to hold the camera to record you while you're
- 1:00:35interviewing this person? Are you?
- 1:00:36Doing I was going to do it where it's like me just recording the
- 1:00:38person. Oh, so it's not?
- 1:00:42Just make sure he's. In the vicinity, just in case
- 1:00:45someone decides to like clock you in the face or something.
- 1:00:49I feel like I'm prepared. You're.
- 1:00:50Gonna be like, I'm not crazy, my husband's over there.
- 1:00:52I'm just I'm extroverted. Even though you're pretty
- 1:00:55introverted. I am slightly it depends on the
- 1:00:58the room I'm in, but I am mentally prepared for how to
- 1:01:02defend myself if I'm ever attacked.
- 1:01:03Anyways, this perfect. Feeling my.
- 1:01:06Guess could just go on forever. Okay, so much fun.
- 1:01:11I know I had a blast. Have so much fun with your
- 1:01:13family and friends. Yes, I will.
- 1:01:15I can't wait to talk next week. I mean, we'll obviously talk
- 1:01:17before then, but I'll be excited to update Alia on my little trip
- 1:01:22to Savannah. I've never been so I'm excited
- 1:01:23have. So much fun.
- 1:01:25Well, okay, I'll talk to you later all.
- 1:01:27Right, bye.
