- 0:00Nora: Just checking in, um, do you have the parasite?
- 0:04Chris: Uh, I don't think so. Do you have the parasite?
- 0:07Nora: Um, I think, I think I would know. Does Charles have the parasite?
- 0:11Nora: Charles, do you have the parasite?
- 0:13Nora: Well, he's not here.
- 0:15Chris: Oh, shit.
- 0:17Nora: Yeah, you know it.
- 0:18Chris: Charles has the parasite.
- 0:20Nora: Charles has the parasite.
- 1:10Chris: This feels super weird.
- 1:12Nora: This is weird.
- 1:14Chris: I don't know how I feel about this.
- 1:16Chris: Hi everybody, it's Wednesday night, it's Vibe Check.
- 1:19Chris: I'm Chris, sitting in for Charles.
- 1:22Nora: I'm Nora, and I'm always here.
- 1:24Chris: And who do we have on the ones and twos?
- 1:27Nora: It's Mandy with all the button pushing power!
- 1:31Nora: Oh! Mandy's pushing the buttons!
- 1:33Chris: Folks, we have a phone number. Call 888-853-VIBE
- 1:37Chris: and tell us your deepest, darkest desires.
- 1:39Chris: Tell us if you have the parasite, and if so, what you've named it.
- 1:43Chris: Yeah.
- 1:44Mandy: Uh, I vote Perry, short for parasite. Perry the parasite.
- 1:48Chris: Perry is good.
- 1:49Mandy: A parasite?
- 1:51Nora: Perry the parasite!
- 1:52Nora: Perry!
- 1:54Chris: This is Perry.
- 1:56Chris: He lives here for free.
- 1:59Chris: Folks, this is extremely strange for me.
- 2:02Chris: I do not-- it's weird, because I started a media company,
- 2:08Chris: but I don't like being on camera,
- 2:11Chris: which is why I can do it sparingly
- 2:15Chris: from in the control room.
- 2:16Chris: but here we are folks, we're doing it for the show,
- 2:19Chris: we are doing it for you.
- 2:21Chris: It's been a couple of weeks since we've been on.
- 2:23Nora: Nora, what have you been up to?
- 2:24Nora: I have been melting in the heat
- 2:26Nora: because we are going through a heat wave.
- 2:29Nora: It's like 95 or higher every day
- 2:32Nora: and it's just too hot to exist,
- 2:35Nora: especially with somebody who is on antidepressants.
- 2:38Nora: No, thank you.
- 2:41Nora: I'm just trying to not pass out from the heat.
- 2:45Nora: So I've been staying in the basement
- 2:48Nora: and not leaving my basement until about,
- 2:51Nora: I don't know, 8 p.m.
- 2:53Nora: And you guys are lucky that I like doing this
- 2:55Nora: because I would have canceled if I didn't like you guys.
- 2:58Nora: (laughing)
- 2:59Chris: Yeah, I think we've all kind of gotten to that point.
- 3:02Chris: It's one of those things where,
- 3:05Chris: my God, it's just too damn hot outside.
- 3:08Chris: And it's only July.
- 3:10Chris: It's gonna get worse and that scares me.
- 3:14Chris: We have air conditioning in this building.
- 3:16Chris: It does not work well.
- 3:18Chris: It has never worked well.
- 3:20Nora: Not on the top floor.
- 3:21Nora: The bathroom, if you go down the stairs
- 3:23Nora: and go into the teeny tiny little room,
- 3:25Nora: it's very well air conditioned.
- 3:27Chris: Yeah, the bathroom is nice and cool.
- 3:28Chris: Maybe we should broadcast right now.
- 3:30Mandy: Yeah, I hear the lights don't make it any hotter at all.
- 3:34Chris: No, yeah, these lights that are above us
- 3:37Chris: are just, you know, fill the room with hot, fresh air.
- 3:41Nora: Yeah, we don't even have fans in here, so.
- 3:43Chris: Yeah, but we do it for you folks.
- 3:45Chris: We're doing this for your entertainment or something.
- 3:49Mandy: That's true love.
- 3:50Mandy: That's what this is.
- 3:51Chris: It really is.
- 3:53Chris: Mandy, what's new with you?
- 3:55Mandy: I'm here, I'm alive.
- 3:58Mandy: Made it through the debacle of the Dr. Pepper sausage.
- 4:03Mandy: So yeah.
- 4:03Mandy: Yeah.
- 4:04Chris: Yeah, can we talk about that for a second?
- 4:06Chris: Can we not?
- 4:07Nora: The reheated sausage?
- 4:08Chris: I think we have to.
- 4:10Chris: reheated sausage debacle of 2026. So on our last episode we had a tasty little treats for tasty
- 4:19Chris: little guys. A not so tasty little treat. That were not so tasty and uh we're we we tried out
- 4:27Chris: various patriotic or july 4th or america yay themed foods and one of them was a dr pepper
- 4:35Nora: flavored bratwurst. Different than the sausage. Right. It was distinct from the smoked sausage
- 4:42Chris: that we tried last month. Better or worse do you think? I think it was better. Yeah,
- 4:46Nora: you were a fan of the bratwurst. The bratwurst, I mean, you didn't mind it. I thought it was okay.
- 4:52Chris: It's not something I would go out of the way to buy for myself, but it was okay. It was edible.
- 4:55Mandy: Bite number one was okay. Not so much the rest. Yeah, so after we went off the air,
- 5:03Chris: Mandy who was sitting in this seat at the time
- 5:07Chris: Had a little bit of distress. No, why don't we just go ahead and roll that foot?
- 5:13Mandy: I'm doing this to myself, you know
- 5:17Mandy: Here we go enjoy my pain
- 5:19Mandy: [laughter]
- 5:22Mandy: The thing is, it's not even fake. It's real.
- 5:26Mandy: [laughter]
- 5:26Mandy: None of this is an act.
- 5:29Mandy: [laughter]
- 5:30Mandy: It's okay, we're recording it.
- 5:32Mandy: Oh, it's okay. I just want to die a little.
- 5:35Mandy: [laughter]
- 5:36Chris: What's important to point out here is that
- 5:40Chris: after we went off the air and we saw how much distress Mandy was in,
- 5:44Chris: our unseen, lovely intern, who's also Mandy's husband,
- 5:49Chris: Turn to me and said keep recording
- 6:19Chris: I didn't love him anymore.
- 6:20Chris: I know, I know.
- 6:21Chris: So this is revenge.
- 6:22Chris: Mandy, what's going through your mind
- 6:24Chris: as you watch this back?
- 6:26Chris: Oh my God, people are gonna see this.
- 6:29Chris: (laughing)
- 6:29Chris: I have no shame, apparently.
- 6:32Chris: I don't really care.
- 6:33Chris: And I'm just eating.
- 6:34Chris: It goes, yeah.
- 6:35Chris: And Nora's just chowing down on some dog.
- 6:37Mandy: On the offensive thing that made me so ill.
- 6:42Mandy: Right, it made me so ill.
- 6:44Mandy: And she's just like,
- 6:44Mandy: "I'm just gonna keep eating what's good."
- 6:46Mandy: Didn't make me ill.
- 6:48Chris: Yeah, Nora was a fan.
- 6:49Chris: She's like, "You gonna finish that?"
- 6:50Chris: She was all about it.
- 6:54Mandy: Guys, this goes on for six minutes.
- 6:55Mandy: In six minutes, we're burping into a mic,
- 6:59Mandy: trying not to vomit.
- 7:01Chris: Yeah, thankfully we still had the camera audio
- 7:04Chris: when you took your microphone off,
- 7:05Chris: so we were able to capture the pain
- 7:08Chris: in glorious high definition.
- 7:09Mandy: Here's the thing, do you hear the cackles
- 7:11Mandy: in the background?
- 7:12Mandy: Oh yeah.
- 7:12Mandy: Do you hear the laughter of laughing at me and my pain?
- 7:16Mandy: (laughing)
- 7:16Mandy: It ended up being just a burp.
- 7:18Nora: We had a trash can nearby we did and we had we had
- 7:23Chris: Emergency foods none of which were helpful for you
- 7:30Mandy: She's ready. Oh, I brought the Tums as a bit you all like oh everyone's bringing these fourth of July foods
- 7:37Mandy: Oh, here's my contribution as a joke and it was full-on like
- 7:42Mandy: No, no, I will eat one
- 7:45Mandy: It's still yeah, I feel like we've seen enough of my main I feel I feel like yeah
- 7:52Chris: Yeah, I feel like we need to like make gifts of this reaction
- 7:57Chris: That way people can send them as reactions on their phone
- 8:06Chris: So so Mandy what was the rest of that night like for you what was the drive home
- 8:11Mandy: Lots of burping lots of grossness lots of oh my god. I don't know how to turn this off
- 8:21Chris: Switch to a different camera, right?
- 8:26Mandy: Lots of gastric distress lots of like hey is this the moment where we pull over and I vomit out of my nice new car
- 8:32Mandy: Mm-hmm. Like I think yeah
- 8:36Mandy: Very kindly the actor texted was like hey, did you make it home?
- 8:40Chris: Did you I was legitimately worried? I thought we had crossed a bridge too far
- 8:46Nora: Yeah, well, she did have Ken if she did have the intern so like we're good there
- 8:51Nora: Like I I wasn't - I sent her home with bread. I was like, you know what you have bread
- 8:55Nora: You have the intern to drive you home
- 8:58Nora: Yeah, if you throw up you throw up and if I if I said
- 9:02Nora: If I said it's okay. What I meant was if you puke in front of me, I won't puke
- 9:08Nora: When I said that
- 9:11Nora: So if you do need to puke in the future, don't worry about it. I am I I can handle it
- 9:16Chris: I think we all have a comfort level with each other where if we throw up in front of each other, it's okay
- 9:22Chris: I'm okay. It's not okay. I have that
- 9:26Mandy: sympathetic vomit thing
- 9:30Mandy: And you can really tell like I'm not okay with it like yeah
- 9:32Mandy: That has been and I volunteered with the children's choir and you could tell that I wasn't a parent
- 9:37Mandy: Because a kid threw up on the stage and all the mothers like ran to the child and I ran as fast as I could
- 9:44Mandy: like in the other direction
- 9:47Chris: You're George Costanza when there's a fire and you're like pushing down old ladies. Yeah
- 9:52Nora: Fully like do not over like third graders, right?
- 9:56Nora: I do feel like Charles might have sympathetic puked at with you at the end of that episode there
- 10:02Nora: Like that could have been it was probably best that Charles wasn't there for all those tasty my formal
- 10:10Mandy: Apology to Charles for ever thinking that they were overreacting
- 10:16Mandy: About those dr. Pepper sausages last time. I was like really it's not that bad because poor Charles was losing it
- 10:21Mandy: I was 900 times more dramatic and it was real
- 10:26Chris: Yeah, better decisions were made
- 10:28Chris: That was not planned like any I've had people ask us before if we like
- 10:35Chris: you know plan out the tasty little treats to like
- 10:38Chris: Maximize grossness and we don't know it's legitimately our first reactions. It's legitimately what however we feel about
- 10:47Mandy: About eating it. It's legitimately Nora saying hey, I'll take a second. Dr. Pepper sausage. Thank you very much
- 10:54Mandy: I was just really hungry that night.
- 10:58Chris: You were.
- 10:59Chris: I remember you saying something like, "I'm glad we have these because I'm really hungry."
- 11:05Nora: I was very hungry that night.
- 11:06Chris: You were like double fisting it at a certain point.
- 11:09Nora: Yeah, I ate both of those.
- 11:11Nora: Yeah, I ate two of the Dr. Pepper sausages.
- 11:13Chris: I will say, in terms of the disgusting level of the foods, I feel like the Dr. Pepper stuff
- 11:20Chris: was the most edible, but that's not really saying a whole lot.
- 11:23Mandy: No, no it's not.
- 11:26Mandy: I don't know, so I have mixed feelings about that show.
- 11:28Mandy: Like before we cut and before the Tasty Little Treats,
- 11:33Mandy: I was like, I think this is my favorite episode
- 11:35Mandy: with the interpretive dancing with me and Nora.
- 11:38Mandy: Like, I loved it.
- 11:41Mandy: Yes.
- 11:43Mandy: It is forever tainted now.
- 11:45Mandy: (laughing)
- 11:45Mandy: I can no longer be like, that was my favorite show
- 11:47Mandy: 'cause now it's horror, the horror.
- 11:50Mandy: (laughing)
- 11:52Mandy: I had fun.
- 11:53Mandy: (laughing)
- 11:54Mandy: Yeah, no, but you know what?
- 11:55Mandy: Enough about me.
- 11:57Mandy: How are you all?
- 11:59Mandy: Actor, how's it feeling to be in that chair?
- 12:02Chris: It's weird.
- 12:03Chris: I don't wanna say I don't like it because it's okay
- 12:06Chris: and there are worse things I could be doing.
- 12:08Chris: Sure.
- 12:08Chris: But yeah.
- 12:10Chris: It's not on the top of your list.
- 12:11Chris: It's not on the top of my list.
- 12:12Chris: It never has been.
- 12:14Chris: And like, I have performed for large audiences.
- 12:18Chris: I used to sing in choir.
- 12:20Chris: Like I used to do a lot of work in theater.
- 12:22Chris: So like I'm no stranger to audiences,
- 12:24Chris: but I've never been that big a fan of it.
- 12:28Chris: I'm more, I'm more enjoy like putting it together
- 12:32Chris: and being that part of it.
- 12:34Mandy: And the power, the control.
- 12:36Chris: I mean, sure.
- 12:37Nora: Of all the buttons.
- 12:40Nora: (laughing)
- 12:44Chris: I don't think you start a broadcasting company
- 12:47Chris: without some sort of weird like imbalance
- 12:49Chris: about control issues.
- 12:51Mandy: That's fair.
- 12:52Chris: But yeah, hosting and being a primary on camera
- 12:57Chris: is weird for me.
- 12:59Chris: I don't hate it, but-
- 13:01Chris: It's different.
- 13:02Chris: It's different.
- 13:02Chris: But I'm enjoying hanging and sitting here with you.
- 13:06Chris: I'm enjoying Mandy fumbling her way
- 13:09Chris: through our new button system.
- 13:13Chris: And she's doing a great job, folks.
- 13:15Chris: Give it up to Mandy.
- 13:16Mandy: I'm trying my best.
- 13:18Chris: Yeah, I will not be here next week,
- 13:21Chris: which is one of the reasons why Mandy is manning the ones and twos.
- 13:25Chris: I'm going to San Diego Comic Con.
- 13:27Nora: Ooh, that's gonna be so fun. - Yeah.
- 13:30Nora: Is it actually Comic Con or is it FanCon or whatever?
- 13:32Chris: No, this is the actual San Diego Comic Con.
- 13:35Chris: The one that you can say without getting a trademark infringement lawsuit.
- 13:39Chris: That's cool.
- 13:39Mandy: So what are you looking forward to the most?
- 13:42Chris: That's a great question.
- 13:44Chris: Sea air, I suppose.
- 13:47Chris: [laughter]
- 13:48Chris: It is it is much cooler over there in the middle of July than it is here. So I enjoy that and I have
- 13:55Chris: Many friends who are working various aspects of the convention and like running booths and doing panels and stuff
- 14:02Chris: so getting able to getting being able to connect with them and
- 14:06Chris: You know spend some time with them is always a good time
- 14:09Mandy: So I'm really looking forward to that any fun tickets to any panels anything like that on your little bucket list mark off
- 14:16Chris: Not that I've seen for this year.
- 14:19Chris: I've kind of given up trying to go to the big panels.
- 14:23Chris: So for those of you who haven't been to San Diego Comic-Con,
- 14:26Chris: the large panels take place in a room called Hall H,
- 14:30Chris: and it seats, I think,
- 14:31Chris: north of 5,000 or 6,000 people.
- 14:35Chris: That's where Marvel does their reveals,
- 14:37Chris: that's where DC does their stuff.
- 14:39Chris: All of the top franchises,
- 14:42Chris: if you will, are in that space.
- 14:46Chris: And there is serious competition to be part of the attendance for those things,
- 14:51Chris: because a lot of times you get to see things before the general public can.
- 14:56Chris: And people will line up for days, literally days, sitting outside in the hot sun
- 15:02Chris: for hours and hours and hours just to get a chance to get into their preferred panel.
- 15:07Chris: I am never going to do that.
- 15:10Chris: there is nothing I care about more than my own health
- 15:14Nora: would allow for.
- 15:15Nora: (laughing)
- 15:16Chris: So I was lucky last year,
- 15:18Chris: and I talked about this on the show,
- 15:20Chris: you know, when we were doing the Toxic Avenger reboot
- 15:24Chris: last year, I was lucky to be part of the team
- 15:28Chris: that was invited into Hall H as guests.
- 15:31Chris: And man, I was spoiled,
- 15:33Chris: because they bring you in through a secret entrance.
- 15:35Chris: I'm probably not allowed to talk about where that is.
- 15:39Mandy: You know your hobnobbing in the in the green room with celebrities and look down at all the peasants who are
- 15:45Mandy: You can't go back after exactly
- 15:48Chris: Exactly. They actually have private security and I don't think they were armed, but they were big burly dudes
- 15:54Chris: So they might as well have been
- 15:56Chris: Walk you through like the lines and around to the different sides of the building that are tapered off from the public
- 16:02Chris: So like kind of sneak you in through the back way and I was like, yeah screw you commoners
- 16:08Nora: (laughing)
- 16:10Nora: Peasants.
- 16:11Nora: (laughing)
- 16:12Chris: But yeah, it's always a fun trip.
- 16:14Chris: So yeah, I won't be here next week,
- 16:16Chris: but I'm looking forward to seeing what you guys
- 16:18Chris: come up with and hopefully Charles is on the mend.
- 16:23Chris: We should see what he's up to.
- 16:25Nora: Yeah, we should do that.
- 16:26Chris: See what they're doing.
- 16:28Nora: Luckily, cyclospora can be helped with antibiotics.
- 16:32Chris: Cyclowhatta?
- 16:33Nora: Cyclospora.
- 16:34Nora: Perry, Perry the parasite?
- 16:36Nora: Yeah, that's Perry the parasite.
- 16:37Nora: So that's, I mean, cyclospora is a parasite.
- 16:42Nora: It's a, I don't know, some kind of dude that gets in you
- 16:46Nora: and makes you have explosive diarrhea for like weeks.
- 16:50Nora: And people have lost weight and there's a bunch of like,
- 16:53Nora: you know, cases in Michigan and it's caused by-
- 16:57Nora: Good times, good times, good times.
- 16:59Nora: Eating lettuce, bagged lettuce.
- 17:02Chris: Yeah, I mean, we were joking in the group chat
- 17:04Chris: that vegetables would be the end of us all.
- 17:06Chris: And here we are.
- 17:07Chris: (laughing)
- 17:08Nora: It's a good thing that I subsist mostly
- 17:11Nora: on carbs and cheese.
- 17:12Nora: Yeah.
- 17:13Nora: (laughing)
- 17:14Mandy: I mean, that's what's gonna save you in the end.
- 17:16Mandy: Everybody else would be like, "Cholesterol!"
- 17:18Mandy: And you're like, "Cholesterol?"
- 17:19Mandy: Carbs and cheese, I don't have cyclospora.
- 17:22Chris: Yay.
- 17:23Chris: (laughing)
- 17:24Chris: Your poor dietary habits will be your saving grace.
- 17:28Chris: (laughing)
- 17:29Chris: And speaking of saving grace,
- 17:31Chris: I'm pretty sure Charles is on the toilet,
- 17:32Chris: but let's see if he answers the phone.
- 17:36Chris: Mandy, do you want to put up that graphic?
- 17:38Mandy: Yeah.
- 17:42Chris: Hey buddy, how you doing?
- 17:47Charles: Funny that you called just a second.
- 17:50Chris: Why?
- 17:51Charles: Because we were just going to say
- 17:55Charles: we're gonna turn our show back on.
- 17:58Charles: (laughing)
- 18:00Charles: We've been waiting for 20 minutes for a phone call.
- 18:05Chris: 23 minutes.
- 18:06Chris: Well, Charles, we had to talk about Mandy
- 18:08Chris: almost throwing up.
- 18:09Chris: I mean, there are priorities.
- 18:10Chris: Oh no!
- 18:11Chris: (laughing)
- 18:11Charles: Oh no, Mandy!
- 18:13Charles: (laughing)
- 18:13Charles: I'm so sorry!
- 18:14Nora: No, I'm sorry!
- 18:15Nora: You've got something horrible
- 18:16Charles: that's causing you to throw up.
- 18:18Nora: No, it was the Arfid triggered her,
- 18:23Nora: no, the-
- 18:24Nora: It was the bratwurst of doom.
- 18:25Nora: Dr. Pepper bratwurst triggered her Arfid.
- 18:28Charles: Oh yeah, 'cause they're disgusting.
- 18:30Nora: Yep.
- 18:31Nora: (laughing)
- 18:31Charles: It's horrendous.
- 18:33Nora: Yep.
- 18:34Nora: You missed some real tasty treats last week.
- 18:36Nora: So how are you feeling?
- 18:38Chris: How is your bunghole?
- 18:40Charles: So I'm feeling okay for the most part.
- 18:44Charles: My stomach is a little iffy.
- 18:49Charles: I have sulfur burps.
- 18:51Mandy: Have you guys ever had sulfur burps?
- 18:52Nora: Oh, yes.
- 18:53Mandy: Yes.
- 18:54Mandy: I hate those.
- 18:55Charles: Horrendous.
- 18:56Charles: It's like, it tastes like bile.
- 18:59Charles: It's so great.
- 19:00Charles: Gross.
- 19:00Charles: It's so disgusting.
- 19:02Charles: And then my butthole is...
- 19:07Charles: It's gone.
- 19:09Nora: (laughing)
- 19:10Nora: You lost it?
- 19:11Nora: RIP Charles's butthole.
- 19:14Nora: Oh no.
- 19:15Chris: I'm sorry, buddy.
- 19:17Charles: Non-stop wipage and it is...
- 19:20Mandy: Bidet, bidet.
- 19:23Mandy: Yeah.
- 19:23Charles: I timed it.
- 19:24Charles: I did actually time it earlier,
- 19:26Charles: how long it takes for food to fly through my body.
- 19:30Nora: Oh no.
- 19:30Nora: (laughing)
- 19:31Charles: It was almost 30 minutes exactly.
- 19:35Nora: Oh no.
- 19:37Charles: When I ate something to when I needed to
- 19:40Charles: like evacuate the premises.
- 19:42Nora: So you can get antibiotics for cyclospora.
- 19:47Charles: Yeah.
- 19:50Charles: So here's the thing, it could be something else too.
- 19:54Charles: So I'm waiting like another day or so
- 19:56Charles: to see if it's like potentially something else.
- 20:00Charles: I mean regardless I am like my it's it's uh it's a crime scene in my house right now.
- 20:09Charles: In the bathroom. Very specifically the toilet. Very specifically the toilet. I'm not
- 20:13Charles: there's no poop anywhere else. That's good. Yeah yeah but it's a problem. I miss you guys.
- 20:20Chris: I'm so sorry. We miss you. Yeah we miss you too. You gotta be better for next week. Yeah otherwise
- 20:24Chris: I'm surprised Nora will be in here by herself.
- 20:27Charles: Do you know what's funny about next week's episode?
- 20:29Chris: What?
- 20:30Charles: It's July 22nd.
- 20:32Charles: Do you know what is important about that date?
- 20:35Nora: What? - No.
- 20:36Charles: My fucking birthday, y'all.
- 20:38Chris: Oh, Charles' birthday.
- 20:40Nora: Oh, goodness.
- 20:42Nora: Oh.
- 20:43Charles: It's my birthday, we're doing a birthday show.
- 20:46Nora: Yeah, we are.
- 20:47Chris: Hell yeah, birthday party.
- 20:48Nora: That's exciting.
- 20:50Chris: We'll make sure to get you some Dr. Pepper bratwurst
- 20:53Nora: for your birthday.
- 20:54Nora: What gross foods can I bring?
- 20:56Charles: Dr. Pepper, pepper, pepper, small.
- 20:58Nora: The Tums did-
- 20:59Charles: Dr. Pepto.
- 21:00Nora: Yeah, no, the Tums did help Mandy.
- 21:02Nora: She brought Tums for a bit, but it wasn't a bit,
- 21:05Nora: and she needed them.
- 21:07Nora: But they did help.
- 21:09Chris: Well, I hope you feel better very, very soon.
- 21:12Chris: I hope you are able to relax some.
- 21:16Chris: And we love you and we miss you.
- 21:18Charles: Can you do me a favor while you're on the show?
- 21:21Charles: Can you watch the cop slide video just to give kind of like a reference of what my butthole
- 21:29Charles: is like right now?
- 21:31Nora: Did you put a cop slide on the rundown?
- 21:34Charles: I didn't put it on the rundown, but I'll text it real quick.
- 21:36Chris: Okay.
- 21:37Chris: Mandy, well, text it and I'll pull it up on my computer.
- 21:42Chris: Cool.
- 21:43Chris: Okay, well, we love you, we miss you, please feel better.
- 21:47Nora: Also, why aren't you watching our show?
- 21:49Nora: Why are you watching another show?
- 21:52Nora: 'Cause "Widow's Bay," it's really good.
- 21:54Nora: Oh, it is really good. - Okay, but "Widow's Bay"
- 21:56Nora: is on demand. - It is really good.
- 21:57Nora: And we are live.
- 21:59Chris: And Charles, can you do me a favor?
- 22:02Chris: Uh-huh. - This is really important.
- 22:04Chris: Yes. - Shut up.
- 22:07Nora: (laughing)
- 22:11Nora: Perfect.
- 22:13Nora: I love it.
- 22:15Nora: Perfect.
- 22:17Mandy: Okay, he did send the the cops live video, but that's an advanced button pushing and I'm only an intermediate level
- 22:26Chris: Yes, that is I'm gonna pull it up on my screen Mandy if you want to cut to camera 3. Oh, yeah. Hey
- 22:34Chris: There's not gonna be sound but yeah, this is
- 22:42Nora: This is a children's playground
- 22:45Nora: And after this it became famous and one of the things for the Great American Sleepover is all of our visitors
- 22:52Chris: Did he screw up his face? It looks like his face like
- 23:00Nora: He's a cop
- 23:04Nora: Cop slide tells if you're pure of heart or not
- 23:07Nora: And if you go down the slide like that, you are not pure of heart like Taco Bell
- 23:12Chris: Exactly.
- 23:13Chris: It explains a lot.
- 23:15Chris: And with that, folks, I think it's time to go around the net.
- 23:29Chris: All right.
- 23:30Chris: So, our first video is one that I submitted, and let's take a look and see how the local
- 23:39Chris: wildlife are handling the heat wave.
- 23:45Mandy: Is that saying just no to fires?
- 23:49Mandy: There's a bison.
- 23:50Chris: So this is a bison.
- 23:51Chris: This happened in, I almost said Jellystone, but Yellowstone National Park.
- 23:59Chris: Yeah, local bison just hanging out.
- 24:01Chris: I don't know if, is there, is there sound on this, Mandy?
- 24:04Mandy: No, I don't believe so.
- 24:06Chris: Okay.
- 24:07Chris: But yeah, it looks like he's just having a good old time. He's probably trying to stay cool as cool as he can be
- 24:13Chris: but
- 24:15Chris: He's all of a sudden not very happy and he goes
- 24:20Chris: after this
- 24:22Chris: gentleman and his
- 24:24Chris: grandson I believe and
- 24:26Chris: Let him go. We need like some Benny Hill music for this
- 24:35Nora: That's pretty good. Thank you. That's pretty good. The car is trying to get in between them. Oh my god
- 24:40Chris: Yeah, this is kind of nuts and wait for it. Oh
- 24:44Chris: I like you caught some air. Yeah flying. You got some hang time. He is okay
- 24:49Nora: Yep, and he's not gonna be fined for that interaction either. Yeah, you know, he he's he's alright
- 24:56Chris: he's got some lacerations and and some he's got you know, he's got a
- 25:02Mandy: Memento of his visit to yellowstone as a PSA to all of the visitors coming to Colorado and the whole
- 25:10Mandy: Rule of thumb thing where you if you can see them past your thumb, you're too close
- 25:18Nora: So two things that complicated this it's a rut season so it's mating season and that was a male bison
- 25:24Nora: so he was just pissed and like he's
- 25:26Nora: Pissed is his natural state right now and number two that white train that you saw that you see drive by a couple times
- 25:33Nora: Was honking his horn and revving his engine to try and get the bison out of the area
- 25:38Nora: And so when the truck passed that second time by the bison
- 25:42Nora: The bison got up and saw him the only thing that the white truck drove past and then he saw the old man and then he
- 25:48Nora: Got mad at the old man
- 25:56Nora: so
- 25:56Nora: That's a bad idea.
- 25:58Nora: But if you do have a chance to go watch Josh Johnson's bit
- 26:01Nora: about the Yellowstone bison, please do,
- 26:04Nora: because Josh Johnson didn't realize
- 26:06Nora: that bison were still around.
- 26:08Nora: He thought that they were like woolly mammoths.
- 26:11Nora: (laughing)
- 26:14Nora: Oh no.
- 26:15Nora: Bless his heart.
- 26:17Nora: And just-
- 26:17Chris: He's like, "Folks, I found a dinosaur."
- 26:20Nora: His whole joke about this is very funny.
- 26:24Nora: So please go watch that.
- 26:26Mandy: Josh, tell him.
- 26:26Mandy: Do you need to tell him that giraffes are real, too?
- 26:29Mandy: Yeah, right?
- 26:30Mandy: [LAUGHTER]
- 26:31Chris: God, that's hilarious.
- 26:33Chris: Our next video is a follow-up to something
- 26:36Chris: we talked about on last episode, which
- 26:39Chris: is our pal Neil the Seal, who's a giant seal in Tasmania
- 26:43Chris: who essentially just hates the world.
- 26:46Chris: And let's check in on him.
- 26:49Nora: Well, that's the problem with Australia now.
- 26:50Nora: There's too many rules and regulations.
- 26:52Nora: You can't have any fun.
- 27:06Chris: This is the only time I'll ever say this.
- 27:08Chris: Here's an instance where Limp Bizkit makes it better.
- 27:11Nora: (laughing)
- 27:13Nora: Okay, I have some more biology facts about Neil the Seal.
- 27:17Nora: Neil the Seal, he's about eight years old
- 27:19Nora: and he is still a juvenile Southern Elephant seal,
- 27:22Nora: so he is not fully grown yet.
- 27:24Nora: And what he's doing is because there are no other seals
- 27:28Nora: around him, he's trying to spar with anything
- 27:30Nora: that is in his way to try and become a more alpha male,
- 27:35Nora: but there's no other seals,
- 27:37Nora: and so it's a little bit misplaced.
- 27:38Nora: So also, use the rule of thumb on Neil as well.
- 27:42Nora: He is big, he is scary, he weighs well over a ton.
- 27:46Nora: Stay away from Neil!
- 27:48Nora: (laughing)
- 27:49Mandy: Yes, that's not the historical meaning of rule of thumb,
- 27:52Mandy: but yes, that's what we're going for.
- 27:54Nora: We will use this rule of thumb in this context.
- 27:57Nora: Yes, we will.
- 27:57Nora: Stay away from megafauna, please.
- 28:00Chris: I'm gonna exercise extreme caution
- 28:02Chris: and invent my own rule,
- 28:03Chris: which is to stay several continents away.
- 28:08Nora: Rule of thumb, stay several continents away.
- 28:12Chris: It's the only way to be sure.
- 28:14Chris: The next one I have talks about recasting Twilight
- 28:19Chris: of interesting characters.
- 28:20Chris: Let's take a look.
- 28:21Video: I'm here for anything Twilight.
- 28:23Video: Your prompt is Twilight,
- 28:25Video: but Bella is played by Jennifer Coolidge.
- 28:28Video: (laughing)
- 28:29Video: We had Siri play Edward
- 28:31Video: and we had Jennifer Coolidge play Bella.
- 28:33Video: This is their love story.
- 28:34Video: This is why we don't show ourselves in the sunlight.
- 28:37Video: People would know we're different.
- 28:39Video: Same.
- 28:39Video: This is what I am.
- 28:41Video: Oh, it's like diamond.
- 28:43Video: (laughing)
- 28:44Video: Oh, you're beautiful.
- 28:48Video: (laughing)
- 28:48Video: of a killer. A killer. I trust you. Don't.
- 28:56Video: So the lion fell in love with the lamb.
- 28:59Video: What a stupid lamb.
- 29:03Video: [Laughter]
- 29:04Video: I can't do this.
- 29:07Video: [Laughter]
- 29:07Video: This is for Skynet.
- 29:09Video: In times of desperation, people will believe what they want to believe.
- 29:13Video: Yeah, a little bit Portal, a little GLaDOS.
- 29:16Video: GLaDOS would be fun.
- 29:17Video: Yeah, because she's so like, you know, she's so up and down when she does.
- 29:24Chris: I'm telling you if they did Twilight like this, I would watch them all right now.
- 29:29Video: Mother's decision to abandon you on a doorstep.
- 29:33Video: Okay, let's do it again as minions.
- 29:41Mandy: I would watch the heck out of that.
- 29:44Chris: Right? I just want to see Jennifer Coolidge in Twilight.
- 29:47Nora: Yes. - I'll watch her in anything.
- 29:49Nora: Prove that she has the range.
- 29:50Nora: Yeah, she can totally do it.
- 29:52Nora: (laughing)
- 29:53Nora: It's the wonders of Jennifer Coolidge.
- 29:54Chris: Yeah.
- 29:55Nora: Okay, I think you have, what, Wheel of Fortune?
- 29:59Nora: Mandy, is this yours?
- 30:00Nora: No, I don't know.
- 30:01Chris: I think this was Charles's.
- 30:03Nora: The Wheel of Fortune dunking on people?
- 30:05Nora: So do we wanna skip all of those then?
- 30:07Nora: I feel like these are kinda good.
- 30:09Nora: We can skip 'em 'cause I want Charles
- 30:11Nora: to explain their videos.
- 30:12Chris: Yeah, so what's your first one?
- 30:14Nora: My first one is the pumpkinista.
- 30:16Mandy: Okay, can I take a moment to tell you
- 30:19Mandy: that I'm so glad when I saw this
- 30:20Mandy: because I thought about submitting this one
- 30:22Mandy: and being like, "Hey, look, this is why I don't submit things
- 30:25Mandy: "'cause this is my FYP page."
- 30:27Mandy: And then you put it on there and I was like, "Yay!"
- 30:29Nora: Yeah, so this is a lady in Maine
- 30:32Nora: who grows giant pumpkins for giant pumpkin competitions.
- 30:36Chris: Okay, cool.
- 30:37Nora: So we have two videos.
- 30:38Video: We'll start with the first one.
- 30:39Video: Okay.
- 30:40Video: Seabiscuit, my giant pumpkin,
- 30:42Video: has been my problem child day one.
- 30:43Chris: Seabiscuit, nice.
- 30:44Video: he's showing signs that he could be something special.
- 30:47Video: Just look at his competitor, War Admiral.
- 30:50Chris: Here's his butthole.
- 30:51Video: (laughing)
- 30:52Chris: A lot of buttholes on this episode.
- 30:54Video: Beautiful color,
- 30:56Video: everything has gone exactly according to plan.
- 30:58Video: Seabiscuit, not so much.
- 31:00Video: His flower bloomed a day too early,
- 31:02Video: forcing an impure pollination.
- 31:04Video: Dirty, so dirty.
- 31:05Video: His blossom nub started to rot,
- 31:07Video: and I barely caught it before the decay
- 31:09Video: could spread into the pumpkin itself.
- 31:10Mandy: I hate it when that happens.
- 31:11Mandy: Is that what Charles is feeling right now?
- 31:13Video: Yeah.
- 31:14Video: (laughing)
- 31:15Video: Blossom rot.
- 31:16Video: Cut, cut.
- 31:16Video: Any chance of winning the prettiest pumpkin award.
- 31:19Video: But this is where it gets special.
- 31:21Video: Seabiscuit is starting to look just like his mother,
- 31:24Video: Snoop Gord.
- 31:24Video: (laughing)
- 31:25Nora: What the hell?
- 31:26Video: Tells me he'll probably finish
- 31:28Video: as a gorgeous orange pumpkin.
- 31:29Video: Those are her pumpkins.
- 31:31Nora: Wow.
- 31:32Video: I grew this same seed once before
- 31:34Video: and it became my personal best.
- 31:36Video: This time, I think he could be even bigger.
- 31:39Video: But the real gamble lies with his father, Goose,
- 31:41Video: the ugliest pumpkin I've ever grown.
- 31:43Video: I'll sleep with a pumpkin.
- 31:46Chris: How rude.
- 31:46Video: Kiss the prettiest pumpkin plaque goodbye.
- 31:49Video: An award both his mother and sister have won.
- 31:52Video: He may be trailing war admiral right now,
- 31:54Video: but I've learned not to count out the problem child.
- 31:57Video: Sometimes they're the ones that surprise you the most.
- 32:00Mandy: Look, I am obsessed with this.
- 32:03Mandy: Yeah.
- 32:03Mandy: Just look, I love watching people who are passionate.
- 32:07Mandy: Like I'm not autistic,
- 32:09Mandy: but I love watching people who are passionate
- 32:11Mandy: about what they do, like do their thing.
- 32:13Mandy: Mm-hmm me too
- 32:19Mandy: Even when I don't understand the autism and how it
- 32:25Chris: Andy you would never understand
- 32:29Chris: It's just a language that you do not speak
- 32:33Nora: No, exactly. Like it's the people who are at the top of their game who are doing what it like they are best at
- 32:39Nora: Passion, yeah.
- 32:40Nora: Let's learn a little bit more about War Admiral.
- 32:42Video: My giant squash, War Admiral, has hit his first big milestone.
- 32:46Video: It's 20 days after pollination and his first weigh-in.
- 32:50Video: After taking my measurements, War Admiral comes in at an estimated 131 pounds.
- 32:55Chris: He has a spreadsheet.
- 32:57Chris: You know he does.
- 32:58Video: At this same point after pollination.
- 33:01Video: 24 hours later, he's gained 15 pounds.
- 33:04Video: But I can't get excited yet.
- 33:06Nora: This pumpkin is gaining 15 pounds a day.
- 33:09Video: Crazy. - That is bizarre.
- 33:12Video: Yeah.
- 33:13Video: Early in a fruit's life, it's all about cell division.
- 33:16Video: One cell becomes two, two become four.
- 33:19Nora: Well, Seabiscuit's still in the running
- 33:20Nora: just because we're at most big.
- 33:22Video: In the first few weeks.
- 33:24Video: The fruit isn't building cell size yet.
- 33:26Video: It's building the number of cells.
- 33:28Chris: How long has she been doing this?
- 33:30Mandy: She has a mentor in it.
- 33:33Chris: A pumpkin mentor?
- 33:34Nora: Yeah. - Yeah.
- 33:34Nora: Like a balloon filling with water.
- 33:36Nora: She says like, there are local prizes everywhere
- 33:40Nora: for biggest pumpkin.
- 33:42Nora: All of her infrastructure is just for biggest pumpkins.
- 33:46Nora: Wow.
- 33:46Mandy: She says that like her pumpkins
- 33:48Mandy: wouldn't even place in other states.
- 33:50Mandy: It's just the fact that she's in Maine
- 33:51Mandy: and it's not warm enough of a state makes the difference.
- 33:55Chris: Is this something she's able to make like a career out of?
- 33:58Mandy: She does sell the seeds to like the big winners.
- 34:01Mandy: It's a hobby, technically.
- 34:03Mandy: But you know, it's that touch-a-tizen thing.
- 34:05Mandy: It's, um, she pins every single like, leaf and like, stock down in order.
- 34:14Chris: You know, every time I see a video like this, where someone is has gotten so good at such a
- 34:19Chris: specific, like hyper specific thing. It makes me feel better about finding stuff for this show.
- 34:27Chris: And like, adjusting graphics until they're just right. Like, I get it. We all have some form of
- 34:33Chris: that some version of that where we where we understand intricacies of things that no one
- 34:38Mandy: else will see and that's just a beautiful thing. I knit. Look I love that you guys do that.
- 34:46Chris: I'm pretty sure I don't have one. I'm glad that you can live vicariously through us Mandy. No
- 34:51Mandy: and that's it like I watch her videos all the time even though I'm not doing that there's no
- 34:55Nora: way I'm growing a giant pumpkin in my little yard. I'm not going to either but we could go to the
- 35:00Nora: the giant pumpkin way off at Fort Collins Nursery this fall if you want to.
- 35:04Nora: Ooh, when is it? Sometime in the fall, it's either September or September.
- 35:09Nora: I think we should do that. Okay, we'll go to the pumpkin way, the local pumpkin way off
- 35:13Nora: and see how ours compare to the Pumpkinista. I would be totally down for
- 35:18Chris: that. We'll take a camera, we'll have a good time. Yeah, mm-hmm, happens every year.
- 35:23Nora: So, okay, I have a bunch of,
- 35:27Nora: I just have a bunch of videos for you guys.
- 35:30Nora: I've been collecting these since last week.
- 35:32Nora: I have a ton.
- 35:33Nora: So let's start with a video about the top horror books
- 35:37Nora: that this creator has read, recommendations.
- 35:41Video: Hi, today I will be ranking my top five horror books
- 35:45Video: based on how much unmitigated terror they made me feel.
- 35:48Video: (laughing)
- 35:48Video: At number five, I have the very hungry cat.
- 35:51Nora: (laughter)
- 35:51Nora: The most gruesome depictions of body horror
- 35:55Video: that I've seen in recent years.
- 35:56Video: What a scale.
- 35:57Video: There's an almost Cronenbergian visceral
- 35:59Video: Yes.
- 35:59Video: Insatiable hunger of this creature.
- 36:01Video: And after it's gorged itself to the brink of exploding,
- 36:04Video: it undergoes a pretty radical transformation
- 36:07Video: that you have to see to believe.
- 36:08Mandy: If this list doesn't have the monster
- 36:10Video: at the end of the book,
- 36:11Video: I'm gonna throw something. - At number four,
- 36:13Video: I have green eggs in hand.
- 36:14Mandy: (laughter)
- 36:14Video: Just really just vile, vile stuff.
- 36:17Video: It features a small hairy man
- 36:20Video: trying to force feed a taller hairy man disgusting food in what I can only assume is a quasi-sadistic
- 36:27Nora: pursuit of domination. The story of the author who wrote this is kind of a sick f*ck. 10 out of 10
- 36:33Video: scary. Number three is where the wild things are. I actually DNF'd this book because I kind of
- 36:39Video: realized it was maybe for the best that I didn't know exactly where the wild things are in fact
- 36:44Video: located. Just looking at these monster designs kept me awake for a week straight. 11 out of 10
- 36:50Video: scares. Number two might surprise people. It's Good Night Moon. There's a sort of quiet, dreary,
- 36:57Video: liminal space quality to this that reminded me of Skinner Meringue or The Back Rooms.
- 37:01Video: It's a feeling of abstract, unrelenting dread that creeps in over time and makes you feel like
- 37:07Video: something bad is going to happen but then nothing bad happens. And so there's just really no kind of
- 37:12Video: cathartic release by the end. Also there's this one page that just says "good night nobody."
- 37:21Video: A limit of 10 scaries. And at number one, unsurprisingly, is this Hellraiser-style
- 37:28Video: configuration about an elderly farmer named McDonald. He's got all these animals that he's
- 37:34Video: holding captive on this farm that he has. And these animals are literally screaming for help
- 37:40Video: the entire story. They're an oink. Everywhere an oink oink. There's a building sense of tension
- 37:48Video: to the repetitive nature of the prose as you unwind this thing and it literally ends in a
- 37:54Video: jump scare. I'm not kidding. I've never seen anything like this in a book or a Hellraiser
- 37:59Video: style configuration queue. I'll show you if I'm feeling brave enough. In the intermediate
- 38:05Video: literally just says "can you find old mcdonalds bees?"
- 38:10Video: how messed up is that?
- 38:11Video: like it literally tells you what's going to happen and you do it anyway knowing what's
- 38:15Video: going to happen and it's still scary.
- 38:18Nora: a million out of ten scarys.
- 38:22Video: thanks for watching and let me know if you'd like me to rank more horror books in another
- 38:26Video: video.
- 38:27Video: okay bye.
- 38:29Nora: and i just love how he starts it with a shudder.
- 38:32Chris: i want to hang out with that person.
- 38:34Chris: They seem delightful.
- 38:37Nora: Yep, and I didn't even watch that whole video
- 38:39Nora: all the way through.
- 38:40Nora: The first time I saw the first one
- 38:41Nora: and I was like, we're watching this one.
- 38:42Nora: You wanna be surprised too.
- 38:44Nora: Exactly.
- 38:44Chris: That's a good setup.
- 38:45Mandy: I need the monster at the end of this book.
- 38:48Mandy: That's like classic, like whodunit, right?
- 38:50Nora: They keep you guessing.
- 38:51Nora: That was in the comments.
- 38:53Nora: People said you like the monster at the end of this book.
- 38:56Nora: You should have, that should have been on the list.
- 38:59Mandy: That should have been number one.
- 39:00Nora: I agree.
- 39:01Nora: Okay, so this one I also found right before I came in here
- 39:04Nora: Ant Sauce. Okay. Oh, this is not Ant Sauce. Might have to have somebody else pull this
- 39:12Nora: up because I added this last minute. This is how I get a branch down.
- 39:17Chris: Go ahead and close that, Mandy. You can go to camera three.
- 39:21Mandy: Can I? Hit F18.
- 39:24Nora: All right. Thank you. Okay. You don't really need...
- 39:32Nora: Would you start it at the beginning, actually? Because that's...
- 39:40Video: This is a joke, right?
- 39:42Video: No.
- 39:43Video: That's a reasonable question. Ant sauce is a savory umami sauce, think soy sauce on steroids.
- 39:51Video: But with 67% less sodium, the ants add notes that are citrusy, smoky, nutty, tangy, and rich.
- 39:58Video: Not only that, ant sauce has more ants than any other sauce in the market.
- 40:02Video: Head on over to AntSauce.com and get some today.
- 40:05Video: With two hundred...
- 40:06Video: Um...
- 40:07Video: [laughing]
- 40:08Chris: Is this real?
- 40:10Nora: [laughing]
- 40:11Chris: Is this real?
- 40:12Nora: I think it is. Yeah, it is.
- 40:16Chris: Um, he's a sample of a city pack.
- 40:18Mandy: So 80% less sodium, 100% more ants.
- 40:21Mandy: $44 for a set of three. Um, and...
- 40:25Mandy: I am officially opting out of this tasty little treat.
- 40:29Chris: This is real as hell.
- 40:31Chris: Mandy, go to camera three.
- 40:32Chris: This is real.
- 40:34Chris: Uh, yeah, wild flavor that hits harder.
- 40:36Chris: Ants delivers citrus-zapped umami with less sodium than soy sauce.
- 40:42Chris: I mean, yeah, I don't want to try this either.
- 40:44Mandy: You want to eat some ants?
- 40:45Chris: No!
- 40:48Mandy: This may be just a Nora and Charles day.
- 40:51Chris: Also, a single sauce is $18, which is insane.
- 40:55Nora: Has the most number of ants.
- 40:57Nora: Yeah, give me a product on the market.
- 41:00Chris: Wait, wait, wait, wait.
- 41:01Chris: We went into the field with ant experts and chefs to find the best tasting.01% of all ant species on Earth.
- 41:09Chris: Yep. The result, think of it as soy sauce on steroids. This has got to be a joke.
- 41:13Nora: It's not. Have you... Okay, this is as an environmental studies person,
- 41:20Nora: bugs are a great source of protein. Sure. And they're a great source of like flavor. I have
- 41:26Nora: heard that ants have a citrusy flavor. And then there's also those honeypot ants that people eat.
- 41:31Nora: People eat the honeypot ants because they're little sugar nuggets.
- 41:36Chris: I mean, I'm glad for those people. I'm glad that there are people who enjoy this. I will not be one of them.
- 41:43Mandy: I grew up on the border of Mexico
- 41:45Mandy: and my brothers would constantly like buy because you can buy like crickets and things like grasshoppers and
- 41:51Mandy: um, they would definitely always like grab a bag to snack on and but I think it was more
- 41:57Mandy: the ick factor than the taste.
- 41:59Nora: For me, I don't like the legs. Like I don't like the legs. Getting stuck in your teeth. That's not uh good
- 42:06Nora: If they were ground up somehow, I think things...
- 42:08Nora: Into a sauce?
- 42:11Nora: I'm not against it.
- 42:13Chris: I am.
- 42:16Nora: I wanted to talk, we needed to talk about this though.
- 42:19Chris: Yeah, ditch dull soy sauce and upgrade your umami with our original umami sauce.
- 42:26Nora: Oh hey, it's made in Texas, you were right.
- 42:28Chris: Yep, made in Austin.
- 42:30Chris: Of course it's Austin.
- 42:31Nora: Yeah.
- 42:32Nora: Money back guarantee.
- 42:34Chris: Free shipping.
- 42:35Chris: I mean, who's gonna call their customer support
- 42:38Chris: and be like, "Hey, your ants taste like shit.
- 42:41Nora: (laughing)
- 42:42Chris: I'm not happy with my ant sauce."
- 42:45Nora: There are alternate soy sauces,
- 42:47Nora: like a black bean soy sauce or a mushroom soy sauce, right?
- 42:50Chris: Sure.
- 42:50Nora: Yeah, coconut aminos.
- 42:51Nora: Yeah.
- 42:52Chris: But those aren't living things.
- 42:54Chris: I mean, they're not insects.
- 42:57Chris: (laughing)
- 42:58Chris: But if they're all grown up.
- 43:01Nora: It's the legs that get me.
- 43:03Mandy: I didn't think I could try it.
- 43:04Mandy: I don't want I don't want this to be the moment where I learn I'm allergic to ants. That's true
- 43:11Mandy: Yeah, that's fair. Although if you're allergic to like
- 43:14Mandy: Lacquer I'm allergic to cook to like cockroaches
- 43:17Mandy: Yeah to be careful with like chocolate and coffee because apparently they have high levels of oh, yeah
- 43:23Nora: Yeah, I would say you probably shouldn't try the ants
- 43:26Nora: I think my mom would probably be allergic to the ants, but you know what folks I want to watch them try the absolutely
- 43:33Chris: I'm looking at their FAQ page now and the first question are there really ants in your products and are they safe to eat?
- 43:40Chris: The answer hell yeah, there are ants
- 43:46Chris: We use two specific species of premium edible ants and intentionally leverage the naturally tangy
- 43:52Chris: Acids they produce to create an intense umami flavor that is richer and more complex than traditional sauces
- 43:59Mandy: Is this is this is this actually like a Rick and Morty show thing like if you like it's giving
- 44:08Chris: It feels like okay, I have no doubt that this is real
- 44:13Chris: But it also could just as easily
- 44:15Chris: Be like one of those elaborate stunts like the guy who bought the Enron brand to bring it back and said like Enron
- 44:22Chris: We're good now like
- 44:25Chris: It could just easily be one of those things though. It is probably real
- 44:28Nora: I think they just were interested in eating bugs and also eating ants, but in the FAQs they also have the question
- 44:33Nora: Are you part of the global who conspiracy to make people eat bugs?
- 44:40Nora: They just want to
- 44:41Nora: Say they just want better flavors for things and maybe bugs taste good and I'm all for innovation in food. I think you know, there's
- 44:50Chris: There there's an untapped
- 44:52Chris: untapped sources of nutrition and taste and flavor and
- 44:58Mandy: Okay, but I want that number that are people allergic to shellfish. Where's the answer for that one?
- 45:03Chris: Yes, I'm curious probably if you're allergic to self shellfish you may be allergic to insects including ants
- 45:09Chris: Yeah, so I think the only way to solve this is to spend $18 and buy
- 45:15Chris: Shipping is free and let Nora eat them
- 45:21Mandy: Charles to do it too since Charles isn't here
- 45:25Nora: I also would eat the soy sauce, the ant sauce.
- 45:28Nora: My roommate is a master's in entomology
- 45:31Nora: and I think she would eat the ant sauce with me.
- 45:33Mandy: Great, so I study these things,
- 45:36Mandy: therefore I must eat them?
- 45:38Mandy: Is this the logic?
- 45:40Mandy: Well, I'm gonna-
- 45:41Mandy: What do they taste like?
- 45:42Mandy: Cook me up a nice book.
- 45:43Nora: She's from a family of geologists
- 45:45Nora: who are known to like rocks.
- 45:46Nora: True, true.
- 45:48Chris: I will never make people eat insects on this show.
- 45:55Chris: (laughing)
- 45:55Chris: But the whole the idea is intriguing and I think will make for at least an interesting episode
- 46:01Mandy: Mm-hmm. I still want to do tinned fish trying. Oh, wait
- 46:04Mandy: What did it say about how we serve this like I know it was a anything soy sauce. No scroll down a little more
- 46:11Mandy: How do you use it?
- 46:14Chris: You have any pairing suggestions if it needs a savory kick we promise you can use ant sauce on it
- 46:19Chris: Here are our favorite ways grilled chicken
- 46:22Chris: Sushi, ramen, grilled chicken, burgers,
- 46:24Chris: or use it for finishing steaks right off the grill.
- 46:27Chris: So anything essentially is what they're saying.
- 46:29Chris: Of course, that's what they're gonna say.
- 46:31Chris: They're saying like this sauce can be used on anything.
- 46:35Nora: You could probably mix it up and make a dip.
- 46:39Chris: Yeah, put it in your cereal, who cares?
- 46:41Nora: Yeah, exactly.
- 46:43Nora: On top of your Cheerios.
- 46:44Nora: There you go.
- 46:45Nora: Okay, so next.
- 46:49Nora: I don't have a good segue.
- 46:50Nora: other than we already watched half of this video.
- 46:53Nora: But it really, really made me laugh.
- 46:54Nora: And it says these two guys tried to get a dead branch
- 46:57Nora: out of a tree.
- 47:03Chris: Okay, okay.
- 47:05Mandy: This isn't gonna end well.
- 47:07Mandy: It's fine.
- 47:08Mandy: (laughing)
- 47:10Mandy: Bounce me up and down.
- 47:11Mandy: Bounce me up and down.
- 47:13Chris: As you do, oh my God.
- 47:15Chris: (laughing)
- 47:16Chris: Oh my God, he's gonna die.
- 47:21Nora: (laughing)
- 47:27Nora: Bounced him right out of the tree.
- 47:30Chris: Okay.
- 47:31Chris: That's like a cartoon.
- 47:32Chris: I know.
- 47:34Nora: This next one is a news art or a news video
- 47:39Nora: of this guy who is a martial artist
- 47:42Nora: and he didn't mean to kick him.
- 47:43Nora: So let's weigh in if this guy meant
- 47:46Nora: to kick the police officer.
- 47:48Nora: Yes.
- 47:49Video: Timothy Allen Weigert is seen on video making a spinning martial arts kick in the direction of a
- 47:56Video: Towards it Weigert claims he miss connecting with the officer on purpose
- 48:17Video: and tells 13 News now he thinks he could have easily hurt the officer if he wanted to.
- 48:23Video: Sorry, buddy.
- 48:24Nora: Sensei of senseis, I was the CEO of a multi-million dollar martial arts company.
- 48:29Nora: Okay, now I think he's probably in psychosis.
- 48:32Mandy: [laughter]
- 48:33Nora: 100%.
- 48:33Mandy: It's the side pony that's getting me.
- 48:36Mandy: [laughter]
- 48:36Mandy: That's my role!
- 48:37Nora: I had 18 different ways I could have hit him.
- 48:40Chris: And I wanted everyone to see...
- 48:41Chris: Also, he said multi-million dollar martial arts business,
- 48:43Chris: and I don't think those words go together.
- 48:45Nora: I didn't want to hurt you.
- 48:46Chris: Like, you have a dojo and a strip mall in Torrance, California.
- 48:58Chris: He was committing the crime of breakdancing.
- 49:00Mandy: Look, the pony is his choice! - Look, it's there again!
- 49:03Mandy: It's the side pony.
- 49:05Chris: Also, the referee stripes is the choice.
- 49:07Nora: thought was so extreme. It's not like I just robbed a bank or
- 49:16Nora: committed murder.
- 49:20Nora: Wrong for me to throw the kick.
- 49:22Video: We get eventually wants to call for change in police department
- 49:27Video: protocol. Oh my god.
- 49:31Video: On eight charges including disturbing the peace and simple
- 49:35Video: assault on a law enforcement officer.
- 49:37Video: Virginia Beach, I don't know,
- 49:39Nora: gives me a chance to be the chief of police
- 49:42Nora: of Virginia Beach.
- 49:43Nora: (laughing)
- 49:45Video: Daryl 13 News Now.
- 49:47Nora: So did he mean to kick the officer, you guys?
- 49:50Nora: (laughing)
- 49:53Nora: Did he mean to kick him?
- 49:54Nora: (laughing)
- 49:58Nora: He was on one wheel.
- 49:59Nora: It was a stage fight, and then the cops
- 50:02Nora: were gonna like taser at him, and that was extreme.
- 50:04Nora: That was just...
- 50:06Chris: I love that his solution is to make himself the chief of police.
- 50:12Chris: He's probably going to make everyone wear those referee stripes
- 50:17Chris: so that they can ninja kick people into submission.
- 50:20Chris: I feel bad for whatever, like, local news journalist had to go interview him
- 50:25Chris: and make a story out of this, because it must have been the slowest
- 50:29Chris: news day in the history of the world.
- 50:31Mandy: He had some really like intense like eye contact happening the whole time.
- 50:36Nora: Oh for sure.
- 50:37Nora: And the eye rolls.
- 50:37Nora: He had some really good eye rolls going on there.
- 50:40Nora: It goes with the pony.
- 50:42Nora: The side pony and the eye roll.
- 50:44Nora: You're right.
- 50:45Nora: It makes sense.
- 50:46Chris: I honestly I wish we had more videos of that guy and less videos of like Squirrel King
- 50:51Chris: Jack because that guy is fun to watch.
- 50:55Mandy: Or the dude that does the catch phrases.
- 50:58Chris: We don't talk about him.
- 51:01Nora: doesn't exist. Yeah. So my next video is a really great new cosplay. I don't subscribe
- 51:09Nora: to anything of what was just said right here. That was just disrespectful. That's all I
- 51:15Chris: have to say. The opinions expressed in this segment are not those of Norma. Not, no, these
- 51:20Nora: are not my opinions. I can tell you that right now. Okay, so next I have a really great new
- 51:26Nora: cosplay idea that I thought you guys would enjoy. Maybe you could use it at Comic-Con next week.
- 51:32Video: Okay, let's see. This is a retrospective on how I made my Spider's Man cosplay.
- 51:37Video: Spider's Man? Oh dear god. No. I started organizing them all and I used this EVA glue I used on my
- 51:43Video: spider night to glue every spider to the suit. I started with gluing some spiders and then I
- 51:49Video: glued spiders and after that I glued some spiders. I appreciate how thorough this is being. Me too.
- 51:55Video: And then I glued some spiders.
- 51:57Video: And then I started gluing some spiders and organizing spiders.
- 52:00Mandy: It's growing on me.
- 52:01Video: My cat helped.
- 52:02Video: Then I ordered some more spiders and glued some more spiders.
- 52:05Video: And then I ordered some more spiders and glued more.
- 52:07Video: And then I was ready to go for a photo shoot with my buddy, Ricardo.
- 52:11Video: Yeah, thanks for watching.
- 52:15Video: So that's spiders, man.
- 52:15Mandy: Remember when I said I love it when people are really passionate about something
- 52:20Mandy: and I like watching them?
- 52:21Mandy: You know, I can get behind this now.
- 52:23Nora: Okay, have you seen the Greedy Peasant, Mandy?
- 52:26Nora: Oh yeah, tassels, tassels everywhere.
- 52:29Nora: Oh my God, the Greedy Peasant
- 52:30Nora: is like one of my favorite weirdos,
- 52:32Nora: who like, he's like one of my patron saints.
- 52:35Nora: Anyway. - I do appreciate it.
- 52:36Chris: Yeah.
- 52:37Chris: Related to spiders, there was a giant,
- 52:41Chris: like quarter-sized spider in my windowsill
- 52:46Chris: a couple of days ago.
- 52:48Chris: And it got-
- 52:48Mandy: Did you get somebody else to kill it for you?
- 52:50Chris: I'm getting there.
- 52:51Chris: It got inside the screen because there was a hole
- 52:54Chris: in the corner of the screen.
- 52:55Chris: So it was literally inside the window sill.
- 52:58Chris: And not only did I sit there looking over my shoulder
- 53:01Chris: for the rest of the afternoon,
- 53:03Chris: not getting any of my work done,
- 53:05Chris: but I did wait until Lynn came home.
- 53:08Chris: (laughing)
- 53:10Chris: Called it, called it.
- 53:10Chris: And asked her to murder spray the spider for me.
- 53:15Chris: It was terrifying.
- 53:16Mandy: And was it a heroic rescue?
- 53:18Chris: Oh, it absolutely was because I was,
- 53:21Chris: I was this close to burning the house down
- 53:23Chris: and the house isn't in my name.
- 53:25Chris: So that would be a problem.
- 53:26Nora: Yeah, Lynn was able to rescue the damsel in distress.
- 53:29Chris: Yes, I am very, very thankful.
- 53:31Nora: I saw a mama wolf spider with like a hundred babies
- 53:34Nora: on her back a couple weeks ago.
- 53:36Nora: And then we also had-
- 53:37Nora: Hold on, I'm gonna be like Mandy.
- 53:39Nora: (laughing)
- 53:41Nora: We also had a jumping spider that had babies outside
- 53:44Nora: and so we had jumping spider babies,
- 53:45Nora: but I like jumping spiders,
- 53:47Nora: I think they're really, really cute.
- 53:49Chris: Well, I'm not gonna be able to sleep now.
- 53:50Chris: Yeah. - Thanks.
- 53:51Nora: And also I regularly remove spiders from my bed.
- 53:56Nora: Okay, next.
- 53:58Chris: We're never going to Nora's house.
- 53:59Nora: Speaking of cortisol maxing spiders in your bed,
- 54:04Nora: here's another video of a guy who has been,
- 54:07Nora: what he calls cortisol maxing.
- 54:10Nora: Now of silence occasionally broken up.
- 54:12Nora: A couple of people in the comments had mentioned these.
- 54:14Nora: I like the sound of this one.
- 54:16Nora: Let's start working.
- 54:17Nora: Before I forget.
- 54:19Nora: Who turns it all the way up?
- 54:20Nora: I am so sorry.
- 54:23Nora: Fuck!
- 54:26Nora: Thirty fucking seconds into it.
- 54:28Nora: Fuck!
- 54:32Nora: Fuck!
- 54:33Nora: It was a minute ago!
- 54:36Nora: Fuck!
- 54:38Nora: I'm sorry Watson.
- 54:39Nora: You're not happy are you Sherlock?
- 54:42Nora: No.
- 54:42Nora: His dogs are pissed.
- 54:43Nora: I think it's just you.
- 54:44Mandy: Rightfully so.
- 54:46Chris: I'd be pissed if I was that dog.
- 54:48Mandy: Yeah, I hate him.
- 54:53Chris: 30 minutes.
- 54:54Nora: This is where I've been living the last half hour in fucking anxiety,
- 54:58Nora: and it hasn't played a sound.
- 55:00Nora: [scream]
- 55:01Nora: You know...
- 55:03Nora: [laughter]
- 55:03Nora: Goddamn it.
- 55:05Nora: You know...
- 55:06Nora: [scream]
- 55:07Nora: Oh, fucking me!
- 55:09Nora: It was gonna happen again.
- 55:11Nora: [laughter]
- 55:13Nora: [horn honks]
- 55:14Nora: Oh my god.
- 55:15Nora: Oh my god, it's auto-playing.
- 55:17Mandy: He doesn't have to do this unit.
- 55:19Mandy: I know.
- 55:21Nora: Nobody's making him do this.
- 55:23Nora: He had another video where he played three different ones at the same time.
- 55:26Nora: Oh my God.
- 55:27Nora: [laughter]
- 55:28Chris: No.
- 55:30Chris: [laughter]
- 55:31Chris: Mandy, if you cut to camera three, what's bizarre to me is that there are so many variations on this.
- 55:41Chris: One hour of silence occasionally broken up by Michael Jackson sounds.
- 55:44Chris: Easy.
- 55:45Chris: Are you fucking kidding me? I by Mario, ah
- 55:51Nora: Which the Taco Bell boing?
- 55:56Chris: Ten hours long someone made a video that's ten hours long
- 56:02Chris: Added these sound effects to it and uploaded it. It has a million views
- 56:08Chris: folks
- 56:10Chris: Come back to the camera. What is wrong with you?
- 56:13Nora: Right, I'm gonna come in one day with one of these already playing
- 56:20Nora: No, and I have YouTube premiums it'll play when my phone is locked
- 56:31Nora: Okay, so the next one is these twins who are not neurodivergent and this is how I feel sometimes with Charles
- 56:38Nora: I'm here to clear the rumors. We are not neurodivergent. We are neurotypical. The rumors are not true.
- 56:46Nora: Nice to meet you.
- 56:47Nora: That didn't stress me out. The fact that I could still feel his hand tingling in my hand.
- 56:53Nora: He doesn't have clammy hands at all. And he doesn't mind. I don't care if he did.
- 56:57Nora: Stand with your hips like this for me.
- 56:58Nora: No wait, don't think about it.
- 57:02Nora: Oh, how are you?
- 57:04Nora: [laughter]
- 57:09Mandy: He's still taking his shoulder!
- 57:12Mandy: I don't see this in real life either though, right?
- 57:16Mandy: Like, it doesn't happen like that.
- 57:18Nora: Yeah.
- 57:18Nora: They're just, I mean, they're playing it up with each other,
- 57:20Nora: but I do feel like that.
- 57:22Nora: Yeah.
- 57:22Nora: If I have to, like, shake hands with people.
- 57:25Chris: I shook someone's hand today and it's over, right?
- 57:28Chris: [laughter]
- 57:28Nora: You're still thinking about it?
- 57:30Nora: I am. I am.
- 57:32Mandy: And that's why you just go in for a hug
- 57:46Nora: I mean, I'd rather like have somebody offer a hand and me choose to shake it then somebody force a hug on me
- 57:52Mandy: That's fair. Okay, except in the Mexican culture you
- 57:56Mandy: Do like shake and a hug before the first time like you meet them by the end
- 58:02Chris: It's a hug and a kiss. Yeah, and you have to French kiss - yeah
- 58:06Mandy: I mean, that's the that's the third time you meet that's the part. I don't like
- 58:16Mandy: When you grow up in that sort of a culture it does change your views on things
- 58:22Mandy: Yeah, like so I have naturally curly hair like really really curly hair
- 58:27Mandy: And people come up to you in like, you know,
- 58:31Mandy: the shopping center, Walmart, grocery store, H-E-B,
- 58:33Mandy: and they get able to come up and touch your hair
- 58:35Mandy: because they don't want to give you oh-ho
- 58:37Mandy: and like have all your hair fall out
- 58:39Mandy: because they were admiring it.
- 58:40Mandy: Oh.
- 58:42Mandy: So I went my entire life with people, strangers,
- 58:45Mandy: just coming up and like petting me whenever they wanted.
- 58:48Mandy: Because it's better than being jealous.
- 58:50Mandy: Yeah, and it's better than something bad happening
- 58:52Mandy: to your hair because they admired it.
- 58:55Chris: So once again, growing up in another culture.
- 58:58Mandy: Exactly.
- 58:59Mandy: Yeah, so I'm not sure Mexicans acknowledge autism.
- 59:03Nora: I'm still a side hugger.
- 59:06Nora: You're not, it's very rare
- 59:07Nora: if you get a full frontal hug from me.
- 59:09Nora: I'll give you a side hug, that's good.
- 59:11Nora: That's good.
- 59:14Mandy: Am I a horrible person?
- 59:15Mandy: Because I'm married to someone who does not like
- 59:17Mandy: physical touch unless it's from his wife.
- 59:21Mandy: And so I really, really love it when my friends hug him.
- 59:24Mandy: [laughter]
- 59:27Mandy: I'm gonna hug him all the time.
- 59:28Mandy: The physical pain, his eyes, like they go into panic and then it's just like horror and I love it.
- 59:35Chris: I'm just gonna show up at your house now, hug him and leave.
- 59:39Mandy: My friend Kimberly will like make eye contact with me while she's hugging him.
- 59:46Chris: [laughter]
- 59:46Chris: I love that. That's amazing.
- 59:48Chris: That's a true friend right there.
- 59:50Chris: [laughter]
- 59:52Nora: That's delightful.
- 59:53Nora: I have a few more. We have one more of my regulars and then I have like four different
- 1:00:02Nora: Animal around the net. Okay one more human around the net. So have either of you heard of Francis the train guy?
- 1:00:09Nora: Okay, so there's this British guy. His name is Francis. He loves trains. He's very wholesome. He doesn't curse
- 1:00:16Nora: He puts a camera on his head here and it pointed down at his face. So his face is like
- 1:00:21Nora: Pano in the camera and he goes to different trains to watch trains
- 1:00:27Nora: Francis got he came to America. I got to see the big boy and he cursed about it
- 1:00:31Nora: So we're gonna see how excited Francis is about the big boy
- 1:00:35Nora: We don't have to watch this whole video, but we're gonna watch the first minute. I feel like this isn't the right video
- 1:00:41Mandy: Hmm. It says I expect spiders to come into my room
- 1:00:45Mandy: That's not the right that's that's the owl
- 1:00:49Chris: We could go to the owl. Was this something you added late?
- 1:00:52Mandy: Mm-hmm. Hmm.
- 1:00:55Mandy: 'Cause I'm not seeing anything that looks like it would be a train.
- 1:00:58Nora: Oh, no, okay.
- 1:00:59Nora: Well, we can watch that one next week if we don't have that one pulled up 'cause there is some good audio there.
- 1:01:06Nora: But...
- 1:01:07Nora: We can go to the owl if you want to. Okay.
- 1:01:09Nora: Okay, let's go. So here's my animal TikToks.
- 1:01:13Nora: The Brits have been going through a heat wave and evidently they also don't have screens on their windows.
- 1:01:19Nora: So that is true. They don't what yeah, let's let's roll the they also don't believe in air conditioning
- 1:01:26Nora: heathens
- 1:01:28Nora: There's a straight-up owl
- 1:01:31Nora: And her window
- 1:01:34Chris: Hey, buddy
- 1:01:36Chris: Hey, oh my god
- 1:01:39Chris: Not in my room. Do you know Harry Potter?
- 1:01:43Nora: Staring at oh my god the Sun I
- 1:01:47Chris: I would close the window and keep my friendly pet owl.
- 1:01:50Nora: Yeah, right?
- 1:01:51Nora: Owl.
- 1:01:52Nora: There's an owl in me bedroom.
- 1:01:54Nora: No!
- 1:01:55Nora: There's an owl in me bedroom.
- 1:01:57Mandy: Oh, it's so cute.
- 1:01:59Mandy: I know, right?
- 1:02:00Mandy: Until it poops on your pillow.
- 1:02:01Chris: I mean, yeah, there's a downside to everything.
- 1:02:03Chris: But I just want to snuggle him.
- 1:02:05Mandy: And the diseases and the germs and the mites.
- 1:02:07Mandy: Birds have mites.
- 1:02:08Chris: You know, it's either that or lettuce.
- 1:02:10Chris: Look, I hate birds.
- 1:02:11Chris: Something's going to get us all.
- 1:02:12Nora: It looks so snuggly, though.
- 1:02:14Nora: [LAUGHTER]
- 1:02:16Chris: I think the owl just wanted to look at that hot bod. Oh, see? Yeah. I mean, I think he was walking by the window and the owl was like, "What's up?"
- 1:02:24Nora: I did hear somebody recently say that a British 10 is an American 6.
- 1:02:30Nora: [Laughter]
- 1:02:35Nora: That's terrible and amazing.
- 1:02:37Chris: It's funny because it's true.
- 1:02:42Nora: [Laughter]
- 1:02:42Nora: So, uh, remember that guy who had the tiny little glasses and was saying like weird like hyper masculine stuff with a lisp?
- 1:02:51Nora: Yes. Yes. Okay. So here's a he did an audio recently and
- 1:02:55Nora: Some of the cat owners have taken it to a new a new level. So this one is the get up get pissed
- 1:03:03Nora: It's in here. Uh-huh. I
- 1:03:07Mandy: Have not that
- 1:03:11Mandy: So I do see and PS, but let the record show this was I didn't cue the videos
- 1:03:18Mandy: Some of them are in here double. Oh, that's my guess of what happened. Oh, yeah, probably
- 1:03:23Mandy: Weird, sorry. I said they go out in English Bulldog though. We'll do that one and an evil butters. Yeah, let's do
- 1:03:30Nora: Let's do the the late-night photo booth one. Yeah
- 1:03:33Nora: So this is just a photo booth that just you guys need to you need to see
- 1:03:40Nora: [Ding]
- 1:03:45Nora: [laughter]
- 1:03:47Nora: Yes!
- 1:03:49Nora: [laughter]
- 1:03:51Nora: He's slaying.
- 1:03:53Nora: Oh, my heart.
- 1:03:55Nora: [laughter]
- 1:03:56Chris: For the 'gram.
- 1:03:58Nora: Okay, here he comes. Close up.
- 1:04:00Nora: [whimpers]
- 1:04:00Nora: Make it side.
- 1:04:03Nora: [laughter]
- 1:04:04Chris: That's his Tinder pic.
- 1:04:06Nora: Get this one.
- 1:04:09Nora: [laughter]
- 1:04:11Mandy: Oh, it's just the eye.
- 1:04:14Mandy: I need to sad song behind it.
- 1:04:16Mandy: Aw.
- 1:04:20Nora: Oh, and he will pose for you.
- 1:04:22Nora: He's like literally posing for it.
- 1:04:24Nora: You are so vain, little pupper.
- 1:04:27Nora: I love this dog.
- 1:04:30Chris: So vain.
- 1:04:31Nora: Made me want to get out some photo booth for my dog
- 1:04:35Nora: and see if she'd be interested.
- 1:04:36Nora: You should do it.
- 1:04:37Mandy: This dog has more of an emotional range than I do.
- 1:04:40Mandy: I know, right?
- 1:04:41Nora: Like all of his, like, that was a whole,
- 1:04:43Nora: like he could use that for his head shots.
- 1:04:46Chris: Yeah, totally.
- 1:04:48Nora: Okay, I have one more.
- 1:04:49Nora: Do you have an Instagram video, Mandy?
- 1:04:54Chris: It doesn't say where it came from.
- 1:04:55Nora: You want an ocean one?
- 1:04:56Nora: Yeah, we're gonna go for the ocean one.
- 1:04:58Nora: There's a guy standing on a dock and a dolphin nailed him.
- 1:05:03Nora: Okay, as dolphins do.
- 1:05:09Nora: [laughter]
- 1:05:12Chris: Dolphin throwing fish harpoons!
- 1:05:14Video: A dolphin just threw a fish at me.
- 1:05:16Mandy: [laughter]
- 1:05:19Mandy: Slow-mo?
- 1:05:21Mandy: Yes, because I need to see this.
- 1:05:24Chris: Back.
- 1:05:25Chris: I feel like I'm watching the Zapruder film.
- 1:05:27Mandy: [laughter]
- 1:05:29Chris: Oh my god.
- 1:05:31Mandy: That's amazing.
- 1:05:32Chris: You know what really makes that is,
- 1:05:35Chris: that dolphin threw a fish at me.
- 1:05:37Nora: [laughter]
- 1:05:39Nora: (laughing)
- 1:05:40Nora: Yep.
- 1:05:41Nora: Dolphins are assholes.
- 1:05:42Nora: Yeah, they really are.
- 1:05:44Nora: They have like the most developed brains
- 1:05:46Nora: of the entire ocean.
- 1:05:47Chris: Which is why they're pissed.
- 1:05:48Nora: Yeah, it's scary.
- 1:05:50Nora: They're not, I mean, they're not friendly.
- 1:05:53Nora: No.
- 1:05:54Nora: So, well, I'll make sure and have those videos
- 1:05:58Nora: that we did get today in next week's
- 1:06:00Nora: because they're still awesome.
- 1:06:03Nora: And then we can go ahead,
- 1:06:05Nora: I think that's the end of all of my videos today.
- 1:06:08Chris: That's the end of our marathon around the net this week.
- 1:06:10Nora: Around the net.
- 1:06:12Nora: I picked around the net instead of doing a main topic.
- 1:06:14Nora: So here's...
- 1:06:15Chris: Here's our...
- 1:06:16Chris: I'm gonna get one.
- 1:06:17Chris: Here's our choose your own adventure for this week.
- 1:06:19Chris: Since we're already an hour into the show, we were supposed to talk about the professional
- 1:06:25Chris: slapping tournament, but that was really Charles' topic.
- 1:06:28Chris: So do we talk about it this week or do we save that for Charles' birthday?
- 1:06:33Mandy: I say we save it for Charles' birthday.
- 1:06:35Mandy: That sounds like a birthday topic.
- 1:06:36Chris: Right.
- 1:06:37Nora: birthday slaps birthday slaps birthday slap yeah i think that maybe we could work in something that
- 1:06:43Nora: like i don't know charles needs a birthday slap yeah i think so from both me and mandy unless he
- 1:06:49Chris: likes it in which case no thank you yeah so i think that's mandy's gonna only harness her mexican
- 1:06:57Mandy: power into the slapping get my chunk out yeah use your hands
- 1:07:04Chris: So with that folks, we're gonna move to our summer food tier list.
- 1:07:11Chris: We've decided to cull together a list of different summer foods that you would find at fairs
- 1:07:17Chris: or on the grill and see what we think about them, see where they rank.
- 1:07:21Nora: Because you know we love talking about food.
- 1:07:23Chris: We love talking about food, we love eating food, we love maybe throwing up food.
- 1:07:29Mandy: That's me.
- 1:07:29Chris: Yeah, that's just Mandy.
- 1:07:32Chris: So yeah, so here we go. So here's our tier list. So the choice of foods is at the bottom.
- 1:07:38Chris: Looks like our first food is gonna be...
- 1:07:41Chris: Lay's barbecue chips?
- 1:07:42Chris: Yeah, a staple. Potato chips. Simple summer snack.
- 1:07:47Nora: I think it's, I would say it's alpha tier at least for a simple potato chip.
- 1:07:53Nora: I think I'd agree.
- 1:07:55Nora: Because like, you can have it with most meals. You could have it with burgers,
- 1:07:59Nora: You could have it with hot dogs. You could have it with a sandwich. Like you can really, chips are versatile.
- 1:08:04Chris: They are. And you could do lots of flavors of potatoes. And they're good, they're good standalone and they're good as part of a larger meal.
- 1:08:10Nora: Yeah. Yeah. So you can put them on a ham sandwich and the ham sandwich is like infinite times better.
- 1:08:15Mandy: Mm-hmm. Look, I think, I think what we're gonna come across is that I feel like any meat, other than, you know, hot dogs now,
- 1:08:22Mandy: this gets moved to us here. Mm-hmm.
- 1:08:28Chris: Okay, so next we have got what is next there Mandy is it ribs?
- 1:08:33Chris: Okay
- 1:08:35Mandy: But the actor doesn't like ribs cuz he gets his little fingers. I don't like getting my fingers
- 1:08:41Chris: Super dirty and having them be sticky while I'm eating. It's it's bothersome. So question. Have you gotten your autism diagnosis?
- 1:08:53Nora: And I'm sorry not not to make not not to make fun of autistics
- 1:08:57Nora: But that is food sensory issues are a known autistic trait, right?
- 1:09:02Chris: it's it's weird because I
- 1:09:05Chris: I
- 1:09:06Chris: It's only with my hands and it's only with like foods that are sticky or that require a ton of
- 1:09:12Chris: Manipulation to eat because when my hands are dirty, I just don't enjoy whatever I'm doing. You can't do anything
- 1:09:17Mandy: I love things when you have to use your hands like the tactile like hand like
- 1:09:23Nora: Yeah, you know I think we're gonna have to fight this one out. I do like ribs. Uh-huh, but I feel similarly
- 1:09:30Nora: about sticky
- 1:09:31Nora: However, I'm okay if I can if I there's just a sink in the other room. We're like in between each rim
- 1:09:46Nora: Do I do I need to wash my hands between every single rib that I eat yes
- 1:09:51Chris: I mean, that's a lot of effort with when I'm eating food like that
- 1:09:56Chris: It's I end up eating it faster and enjoying it less because I'm just thinking about going to wash my hands
- 1:10:04Chris: So there's that issue but as far as ribs go even if they weren't sticky or I was wearing gloves or something
- 1:10:10Chris: I just don't enjoy like pulling bones out of things to eat them. I mean, it's just kind of a pain in the ass
- 1:10:16Mandy: I mean, that's fair. I get that. Okay. So where are we putting it then guys?
- 1:10:20Mandy: I would say B because a bad rib is bad,
- 1:10:23Mandy: but a good rib is great.
- 1:10:25Mandy: Sun chips can just screw themselves.
- 1:10:27Chris: Whoa, why are we a sun chips hater?
- 1:10:30Mandy: Well, I don't think I can eat them, so there's that.
- 1:10:33Chris: Okay.
- 1:10:34Chris: You're talking about every variety of sun chips
- 1:10:36Chris: 'cause there's like six.
- 1:10:37Mandy: And before, I don't know, before I was allergic,
- 1:10:41Mandy: I don't remember liking them.
- 1:10:44Nora: Fair enough.
- 1:10:45Nora: We're in sun chips.
- 1:10:47Nora: I like SunChips.
- 1:10:48Nora: I like their corn.
- 1:10:51Nora: Yeah, they have oat flour in them, so you're allergic.
- 1:10:54Nora: I love the garden salsa one, that garden salsa.
- 1:10:56Nora: Oh my God, it's such a good chip flavor.
- 1:10:58Chris: I bought the garden salsa as a mistake once
- 1:11:02Chris: when I should have bought the harvest cheddar,
- 1:11:04Chris: but I ended up really enjoying the garden salsa,
- 1:11:06Chris: and now it's part of the rotation.
- 1:11:07Nora: Which are these, can we tell?
- 1:11:09Nora: That one is the cheddar one on the picture.
- 1:11:12Chris: Yeah, I think the harvest cheddar is the most popular,
- 1:11:14Chris: but if you go to camera three, Mandy,
- 1:11:17Nora: see the different. Oh my god, I love that you think I'm gonna be able to manage this.
- 1:11:20Nora: The original, it's bland. I only like the garden salsa, to be honest with you. Garden salsa is
- 1:11:27Nora: pretty tasty. The french onion are probably good, but I would take a Dorito over the cheesy ones.
- 1:11:33Chris: I agree. Me personally. Even though they're made by the same company and probably in the
- 1:11:37Chris: same factory, I think Doritos are just overall better. Hold on, there's fiber chips? I guess so,
- 1:11:42Nora: That's news to me. And the southwestern queso flavored sun chips. What? Fiber chips.
- 1:11:48Nora: I think we should order some of those and try them. I think you should.
- 1:11:51Nora: I will watch this. I think we need to try those. We can do that.
- 1:11:55Chris: Whole grain and black bean snacks. How wacky.
- 1:12:00Nora: That, I mean, they'd probably be good. I like a sun chip. Okay, so since you don't like sun chips,
- 1:12:05Nora: but we like sun chips, and it is the cheddar sun chip,
- 1:12:09Nora: I say I wouldn't rate it higher than a B or C.
- 1:12:14Nora: That's the garden salsa or better.
- 1:12:17Mandy: Okay, so now I'm doing this thing where I'm pushing the browser window button
- 1:12:21Mandy: and it's not coming back.
- 1:12:22Chris: The key isn't on.
- 1:12:24Mandy: Thank you.
- 1:12:27Nora: Yeah, so I would say what do you what do you think?
- 1:12:29Nora: See, this is one you like.
- 1:12:31Chris: So I do like harvest cheddar.
- 1:12:33Mandy: I feel like this is a rib situation.
- 1:12:35Mandy: We're just gonna make it a B.
- 1:12:36Chris: Yeah, I think I think a B is fair.
- 1:12:38Mandy: Fair.
- 1:12:39Nora: I'm down for that.
- 1:12:41Chris: And I think below Chris.
- 1:12:42Chris: There are better chips out there.
- 1:12:43Chris: Doritos are better.
- 1:12:45Chris: Sometimes Lay's Classic are better.
- 1:12:46Nora: Okay, sodas?
- 1:12:47Chris: Cheddar and sour cream, way better.
- 1:12:49Nora: Oh yeah.
- 1:12:50Nora: I'd take a cheddar and sour cream over a SunChip any day.
- 1:12:53Chris: 100%.
- 1:12:54Chris: What's next?
- 1:12:55Nora: Sodas.
- 1:12:55Nora: Just all sodas.
- 1:12:57Chris: Soda's a pretty wide category.
- 1:13:00Chris: Um...
- 1:13:01Chris: I like soda.
- 1:13:02Chris: I don't tend to drink it a lot.
- 1:13:04Chris: Except on days when I'm really tired, like today.
- 1:13:06Chris: And I've had like three of them.
- 1:13:07Nora: What?
- 1:13:09Nora: Um...
- 1:13:09Nora: energy drink before I drink a soda.
- 1:13:11Nora: Like I don't really drink a lot of soda.
- 1:13:13Chris: I can't do energy drinks.
- 1:13:14Chris: I just bounce off the walls like a, you know,
- 1:13:16Chris: a cocaine fiend or something.
- 1:13:17Chris: So I don't know.
- 1:13:19Mandy: I mean, I feel like it's the lowest,
- 1:13:22Mandy: like I think it's even like below bringing a bag of chips.
- 1:13:25Mandy: If someone brings like a soda to like my cookout,
- 1:13:28Mandy: I'm like, oh.
- 1:13:29Nora: You couldn't have brought sparkling water or something?
- 1:13:31Nora: Yeah.
- 1:13:32Nora: Or beer?
- 1:13:33Mandy: I love the effort that you didn't put into this at all.
- 1:13:37Mandy: You couldn't even bring a beer?
- 1:13:41Mandy: But I'm also Southern, so it's sweet tea or nothing.
- 1:13:43Chris: I mean, I have no room to speak because at Mandy's last gathering, I brought ice.
- 1:13:48Mandy: I requested it.
- 1:13:49Mandy: I requested it specifically.
- 1:13:50Nora: Ice is useful.
- 1:13:51Nora: I would argue that ice is more useful than soda.
- 1:13:54Mandy: Anytime anyone's like, "Hey, what can I bring to the party?"
- 1:13:57Mandy: I'm like, "Ice."
- 1:13:58Mandy: I literally have an ice bucket in my Amazon cart right now so that I can...
- 1:14:03Chris: Interestingly enough, this is not related to the food tier list, but this was on the
- 1:14:08Chris: July, there was a run on ice because it was 200 degrees outside and I ended up having to go to
- 1:14:16Chris: four different stores. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. It was hysterical. I would have given up after two.
- 1:14:24Mandy: Yeah, I'm so sorry. I thought it was an easy ask. No, I mean, yeah, nothing to apologize for. It's
- 1:14:32Chris: totally fine. But like, I literally walked into King Soopers and I walked it to a customer service
- 1:14:37Chris: rep and they before I even got the question out they were like we're out of ice.
- 1:14:43Chris: Like cool go to another gas station out of ice another gas station out of ice. What is happening
- 1:14:49Chris: folks? Where did you end up finding it? A gas station? I ended up finding it at the King Super's gas station
- 1:14:56Chris: which okay which I don't think I don't think people were were necessarily clued into that so
- 1:15:03Chris: had they been that would probably have been gone.
- 1:15:06Mandy: Yeah, the other thing we brought up at the table was fast food places will sometimes
- 1:15:10Mandy: sell you bags of ice. So like, if you go to McDonald's, they'll sell you a bag of ice.
- 1:15:15Chris: Yeah, we found out that McDonald's and Sonic.
- 1:15:17Nora: And Chick-fil-A too. Yeah.
- 1:15:19Nora: Sonic ice, you could buy a bag of Sonic ice.
- 1:15:21Chris: Yeah.
- 1:15:22Chris: Good to know.
- 1:15:23Chris: I haven't tried it.
- 1:15:23Nora: But Sonic ice is good ice.
- 1:15:25Chris: If I'm ever in an ice pickle.
- 1:15:26Nora: The coldest ice that you can get.
- 1:15:28Mandy: I mean, August giving is coming. Somebody will have to bring ice.
- 1:15:31Mandy: That's true.
- 1:15:32Mandy: Okay, so where are we with the soda people?
- 1:15:34Mandy: D.
- 1:15:35Mandy: Yeah, I would, I don't know, I would even say F.
- 1:15:38Mandy: Otter pops, I don't know what they're called
- 1:15:39Mandy: by other places, but they were always Otter pops.
- 1:15:40Nora: Oh, those are good.
- 1:15:41Nora: I would say they're at least alpha tier.
- 1:15:43Nora: Like, that's a good-
- 1:15:44Chris: I like Otter pops.
- 1:15:45Nora: Otter pops are just a solid summer snack.
- 1:15:49Mandy: I know, but my thing is, look,
- 1:15:50Mandy: we're giving A tier to things that aren't even prepared.
- 1:15:55Mandy: But that's what summer is.
- 1:15:56Mandy: I'm just saying.
- 1:15:57Chris: Yeah, it's always-- - But food that's easy to eat.
- 1:15:59Chris: It's always about, it's just about what's comfortable
- 1:16:02Mandy: I mean, okay.
- 1:16:04Mandy: What do you think?
- 1:16:05Mandy: But then, well, I'm just saying, right?
- 1:16:07Mandy: So like when it takes somebody the effort into, you know, making something from scratch,
- 1:16:12Mandy: I feel like that it's got to be better than I opened a bag of chips.
- 1:16:15Mandy: Right?
- 1:16:16Mandy: Well, if we haven't had anything else to, yeah.
- 1:16:19Mandy: Like this next one are kebabs.
- 1:16:21Mandy: Oh.
- 1:16:22Mandy: Right?
- 1:16:22Mandy: And so you're gonna put kebabs on the same place as Otter Pops?
- 1:16:25Chris: No.
- 1:16:25Chris: I mean, I think, I think the tier list is based on how much we enjoy something, not
- 1:16:30Chris: how much effort went into making it.
- 1:16:32Mandy: And I think maybe that's it, right?
- 1:16:34Mandy: Like I don't tend to enjoy store-bought things.
- 1:16:37Mandy: Like I don't tend to enjoy-- - That's fair.
- 1:16:39Chris: Yeah, that's valid.
- 1:16:40Mandy: Like prepared, like, you know, chemically tasting.
- 1:16:43Chris: So we have to factor that in.
- 1:16:44Chris: So if you wanna move Otter Pops to B, would that work?
- 1:16:47Nora: No, I mean, I'm just saying.
- 1:16:49Nora: Okay, so.
- 1:16:51Nora: Well, see, with the kebabs,
- 1:16:53Nora: you could put anything on 'em.
- 1:16:54Nora: They're easy to cook.
- 1:16:56Nora: There, you can make it any flavor.
- 1:16:58Nora: I want to put kebabs in like the S tier because it's just like an easy yummy food for summer.
- 1:17:05Nora: They're not being cooked in my house.
- 1:17:06Chris: And people make some like really good marinades, that kind of stuff, which probably contains
- 1:17:11Chris: things you can't have, Mandy, but you could also just do it plain. You could just grill
- 1:17:17Nora: or like an adobo chicken. The best kebab I ever had was an adobo chicken kebab on the beach in
- 1:17:23Nora: Puerto Rico like, you know, like sounds perfect. It was it was iconic. It was everything that I needed
- 1:17:32Mandy: My question is what's this next one is this chicken salad?
- 1:17:35Chris: I think the question I
- 1:17:38Chris: It looks like chicken. I guess I think coleslaw is there mac and
- 1:17:42Mandy: Salad mac mac salad. I don't eat salad mac. I am not white enough for this folks. Like let's see
- 1:17:49Mandy: Yeah, that does look like chicken salad.
- 1:17:50Chris: I'm, we'll just say it's chicken salad.
- 1:17:52Nora: Okay, where are we putting it?
- 1:17:54Chris: I mean, I like a chicken salad.
- 1:17:56Chris: I like chicken salad a lot.
- 1:17:57Nora: Well, I think it's an Alpateur
- 1:17:59Nora: and I think it's above the chips and the Otter Pops.
- 1:18:02Nora: 'Cause it's like a, just an easy food to eat.
- 1:18:04Nora: Mm-hmm.
- 1:18:06Nora: And it just tastes good.
- 1:18:07Mandy: I feel like this is going to get the actor
- 1:18:09Mandy: to not like it, s'mores.
- 1:18:11Mandy: Ooh.
- 1:18:12Mandy: I don't think he would appreciate the sticky, sticky hands.
- 1:18:15Chris: I like s'mores.
- 1:18:16Chris: Really? - Yeah.
- 1:18:17Chris: Really?
- 1:18:17Mandy: Justify it then
- 1:18:21Chris: By being careful with my placement of when I remove it from the fire to form the sandwich there, okay
- 1:18:29Mandy: quintessential
- 1:18:30Mandy: Quintessential I feel summer food
- 1:18:33Nora: Yeah, it is. I think so. I would say I like a non-traditional s'more with like a Reese's peanut butter cup
- 1:18:40Nora: Oh, yeah, or like I've never tried that or like a dark chocolate. Okay. Yeah
- 1:18:47Nora: with caramel? Yeah, I think I could even do like a dark chocolate filled with raspberry and
- 1:18:53Mandy: marshmallow. Wow, I don't know about the raspberry, but okay. Okay, so where do we want to put this then?
- 1:18:58Chris: I would say, I would say B or A. I would say B. Okay. It's not the thing that like I'm always
- 1:19:06Nora: looking for. I'd prefer something cold on a summer day like this. Okay, coleslaw. I like coleslaw.
- 1:19:13Chris: I'm not big on coleslaw. I, there, there are coleslaws that I enjoy, but most of them I don't.
- 1:19:19Nora: What if we did C for coleslaw? I like my coleslaw.
- 1:19:23Chris: Your coleslaw is good. I will, I will give you that. Yeah. I had her coleslaw a couple weeks
- 1:19:29Nora: ago. It was delightful. There are some really good coleslaws out there. Uh, corn dogs, can we
- 1:19:34Chris: just put those in F? Oh no! I love corn dogs. No. I love a corn dog. I love me a corn dog,
- 1:19:43Chris: Especially if it's one that you get at the fair that's like fresh dipped in the in the fat and batter and all that stuff
- 1:19:49Chris: Oh, man, ketchup and mustard put ketchup and mustard on it. It's
- 1:19:53Chris: mmm, delicious a honey batter
- 1:19:57Mandy: Korean hot dog, but not these like American trash ones. I
- 1:20:03Chris: Will agree that Korean corn dogs are even better
- 1:20:07Chris: But we're talking about like American fair food, which is gonna be your traditional American corn dog
- 1:20:13Nora: Where do you want them?
- 1:20:13Nora: B for corn dog.
- 1:20:15Chris: Oh, I would put him at A, that's me personally.
- 1:20:19Nora: But, I'd be okay with a B.
- 1:20:24Nora: Yeah, I was gonna use the word that they use
- 1:20:26Nora: on Love Island, but I can't even think of the dumb word
- 1:20:29Nora: that they used.
- 1:20:31Nora: Anyway, hot dogs.
- 1:20:33Nora: These are F for me, probably for a while.
- 1:20:36Nora: I like a hot dog about equal to a corn dog.
- 1:20:41Chris: I like a hot dog, especially a chili dog.
- 1:20:43Chris: If it were a chili dog specifically,
- 1:20:45Chris: I'd be more about it.
- 1:20:46Nora: I might have chili dogs for dinner tonight.
- 1:20:48Chris: Oh, I'm coming over.
- 1:20:51Chris: (laughing)
- 1:20:52Chris: I don't know.
- 1:20:52Chris: I would say B, but Mandy, I also understand
- 1:20:56Chris: you're not a corn dog fan,
- 1:20:57Chris: so if it ends up being a C, I think that's okay.
- 1:20:59Chris: It could be a C.
- 1:21:00Mandy: Well, I just, yeah.
- 1:21:04Mandy: Hot dogs were okay until-
- 1:21:08Chris: Until the incident.
- 1:21:10Mandy: I understand. I can recognize them.
- 1:21:13Mandy: [LAUGHTER]
- 1:21:15Mandy: They may not be on my tier list for a while.
- 1:21:18Chris: Well, just refer to it as the incident.
- 1:21:20Chris: The incident.
- 1:21:21Chris: My incident.
- 1:21:23Mandy: Well, it was a double incident, too.
- 1:21:24Chris: Should I put that footage in the intro?
- 1:21:26Nora: [LAUGHTER]
- 1:21:26Nora: Yeah.
- 1:21:28Nora: [LAUGHTER]
- 1:21:29Nora: You got to put something from it.
- 1:21:30Mandy: If you do that, you need to put the clip of Nora and I doing
- 1:21:34Mandy: the interpretive meat rain.
- 1:21:35Mandy: Yes.
- 1:21:37Mandy: [LAUGHTER]
- 1:21:38Mandy: Because that was iconic.
- 1:21:39Mandy: 'Cause that was my favorite thing, I think,
- 1:21:41Mandy: that I've done on this show.
- 1:21:42Mandy: It was a great, that was great, yeah.
- 1:21:46Mandy: Okay, where do we put a drumstick?
- 1:21:47Nora: Oh, a drumstick.
- 1:21:50Nora: I'll never turn down a drumstick.
- 1:21:52Nora: I think they're on par with the Otter Pops in my brain.
- 1:21:56Chris: I like the Oreo drumsticks, those are fun.
- 1:22:00Chris: Regular drumsticks usually have nuts on them
- 1:22:03Chris: and I'm not a fan of nuts.
- 1:22:05Nora: Nut guy?
- 1:22:06Chris: I'm not a nut guy, I don't like nuts in my mouth.
- 1:22:09Chris: (laughing)
- 1:22:10Chris: Actually, same.
- 1:22:12Mandy: I remember when I ate dairy, I did really love these.
- 1:22:16Chris: When you ate dairy, you said?
- 1:22:17Mandy: Yeah, I don't do dairy.
- 1:22:18Chris: Yeah.
- 1:22:20Mandy: But at one time as a child, I didn't mind it, so.
- 1:22:23Nora: The best part of the drumstick is the chocolate dip
- 1:22:26Nora: at the bottom of the cone.
- 1:22:27Mandy: It is, and you can buy those now, right?
- 1:22:29Mandy: Yeah. - Oh, I love that.
- 1:22:31Nora: Trader Joe's has like the mini ones
- 1:22:32Nora: that are like half chocolate and filled in the bottom, yeah.
- 1:22:36Nora: Ooh, nice.
- 1:22:37Nora: Okay, so where are we, are we gonna go with the C?
- 1:22:39Nora: Is this a classic drumstick?
- 1:22:40Nora: Maybe a classic drumstick would be C.
- 1:22:43Nora: Okay.
- 1:22:44Nora: 'Cause there are better versions of it.
- 1:22:46Chris: There are.
- 1:22:46Chris: There have been refinements of this one.
- 1:22:49Chris: Yeah.
- 1:22:50Mandy: Looks like the next step is a pulled pork sandwich.
- 1:22:52Mandy: Oh, I got it.
- 1:22:55Mandy: Like a good pulled pork sandwich is just,
- 1:22:58Nora: like it hits the spot every time.
- 1:22:59Nora: I agree, that is-
- 1:23:01Chris: Especially when like someone puts forth,
- 1:23:04Chris: to your earlier point,
- 1:23:05Chris: It puts forth the effort to like,
- 1:23:07Chris: you know, smoke it long over a long period of time,
- 1:23:10Chris: really good glaze or sometimes-
- 1:23:12Chris: Put some sweet pickles on it.
- 1:23:13Chris: Really good smoked pulled pork doesn't need sauce.
- 1:23:17Chris: Yep.
- 1:23:17Chris: And if it tastes good without sauce,
- 1:23:20Chris: you know you've done your job.
- 1:23:21Nora: Yeah. - Yep.
- 1:23:22Nora: With like just pulled pork
- 1:23:23Nora: and then you can put some pickles and onions on it.
- 1:23:25Nora: Oh my God.
- 1:23:26Mandy: I will say for the fourth,
- 1:23:27Mandy: the husband got up at two o'clock in the morning
- 1:23:29Mandy: to start smoking the pork.
- 1:23:31Chris: And it was fantastic.
- 1:23:32Chris: Nice.
- 1:23:34Chris: So I would say it's an S tier.
- 1:23:36Mandy: Oh, it's already up there.
- 1:23:36Mandy: Oh, yeah, we did that a while ago.
- 1:23:38Mandy: Oh.
- 1:23:39Mandy: (laughing)
- 1:23:39Chris: Don't listen to me, I'm way behind.
- 1:23:42Mandy: Okay, so the thing that I would never eat,
- 1:23:44Mandy: and I don't even know what it's called,
- 1:23:46Mandy: macaroni salad.
- 1:23:48Nora: Oh, macaroni salad.
- 1:23:50Nora: It's-
- 1:23:50Chris: I'm not big on macaroni salad.
- 1:23:51Nora: I liked it as a kid, I don't like it.
- 1:23:53Nora: It's made with like Miracle Whip, and so it's gross.
- 1:23:58Nora: (laughing)
- 1:23:58Chris: Oh, you're a Miracle Whip hater?
- 1:23:59Nora: If it was made with mayo, I think I'd feel differently.
- 1:24:02Nora: I know, yeah, I'm a mayo girl through and through.
- 1:24:05Chris: I feel like they're usually made with mayo, though.
- 1:24:07Nora: I grew up in a Miracle Whip household,
- 1:24:09Nora: and at least the King Soopers brand macaroni salad,
- 1:24:14Nora: that has Miracle Whip in it.
- 1:24:15Nora: I can taste the difference.
- 1:24:16Chris: Interesting.
- 1:24:18Mandy: I just think it's gross.
- 1:24:18Mandy: It's sweet.
- 1:24:19Mandy: Why do we have to do this?
- 1:24:20Mandy: Why is this a thing?
- 1:24:21Chris: That's why.
- 1:24:21Mandy: This is some white people S word there.
- 1:24:23Nora: That one is a white people thing that I can't explain it.
- 1:24:27Chris: I mean, I'd be okay with a D or an F on this one.
- 1:24:30Nora: Oh, I put an F like a while ago.
- 1:24:31Chris: It goes in F.
- 1:24:33Nora: What's, potato salad is next?
- 1:24:34Mandy: Yeah, so I-- - I love potato salad.
- 1:24:36Mandy: I hate it because I do not eat eggs,
- 1:24:39Mandy: I do not like the smell of eggs,
- 1:24:40Mandy: I've had trauma with eggs,
- 1:24:43Mandy: and they always have eggs hidden in them.
- 1:24:45Mandy: And even if they say they don't,
- 1:24:46Mandy: you can't trust them that it doesn't.
- 1:24:48Mandy: I love eggs in my potato salad.
- 1:24:50Chris: I love potato salad, and specifically,
- 1:24:53Chris: I've been into deviled egg potato salad.
- 1:24:56Chris: It's really good.
- 1:24:57Chris: So it's like double Mandy hate.
- 1:24:59Nora: The mustard-- - It's so fucking good.
- 1:25:01Nora: I love potato salad. - Potato salad's really good.
- 1:25:02Nora: My sister's boyfriend works at Brother's,
- 1:25:05Nora: I think it's probably B, A, A, yeah, there.
- 1:25:11Nora: Yeah, that's good.
- 1:25:12Nora: My sister's boyfriend works at Brother's Barbecue,
- 1:25:16Nora: and so she now has an endless source of potato salad.
- 1:25:20Nora: Oh my God. - And he literally came over
- 1:25:22Nora: for Father's Day just to deliver potato salad to my sister.
- 1:25:25Chris: Aw, that's nice. - Amazing.
- 1:25:26Chris: I would gain 300 pounds.
- 1:25:28Chris: I would just be a giant walking tub of potato salad.
- 1:25:31Mandy: I would lose so much weight
- 1:25:33Mandy: because I would be eating nothing.
- 1:25:35Mandy: (laughing)
- 1:25:36Mandy: So it looks like this is some nondescript,
- 1:25:39Mandy: some form of dip.
- 1:25:40Mandy: Dip is the best!
- 1:25:42Mandy: I love dip!
- 1:25:43Mandy: Dip is definitely a least A tier.
- 1:25:45Chris: I'm a fan of dips, but it depends on the dip.
- 1:25:47Chris: I don't, not crazy about bean dip, for example.
- 1:25:51Nora: Crazy, that's crazy.
- 1:25:52Chris: But like a sour cream based dip,
- 1:25:55Chris: I'm usually all about that.
- 1:25:56Mandy: I am not okay with dips unless it's just me and my husband
- 1:25:59Mandy: because I don't trust any of you gross, nasty people.
- 1:26:02Nora: Oh, I don't share my dips with anybody.
- 1:26:04Nora: Yeah.
- 1:26:05Nora: I eat dip for dinner.
- 1:26:06Mandy: If this is like a summer barbecue picnic thing going on,
- 1:26:10Mandy: right?
- 1:26:10Nora: I'm bringing one dip for me
- 1:26:12Nora: and then the rest for everyone else.
- 1:26:13Nora: Okay.
- 1:26:13Nora: Okay.
- 1:26:14Chris: A little personal dip.
- 1:26:15Chris: In fact, I ordered
- 1:26:16Chris: You can't trust that people aren't gonna hawk loogies
- 1:26:18Chris: in your dip.
- 1:26:18Nora: I ordered dip mix.
- 1:26:20Nora: I struggle.
- 1:26:20Nora: Online from like one of those random like
- 1:26:23Nora: Dip picks?
- 1:26:23Nora: Shopify.
- 1:26:23Nora: Is that what you said?
- 1:26:25Nora: I did, yeah, exactly.
- 1:26:26Nora: I'm testing those. - Dip mix.
- 1:26:27Nora: (laughing)
- 1:26:28Chris: Send us your dip picks, folks.
- 1:26:30Nora: All the dip picks.
- 1:26:31Nora: I got some dill dip mix that you just mix
- 1:26:34Nora: like a bunch of mayo and sour cream in it.
- 1:26:35Nora: What's our phone number?
- 1:26:36Mandy: 888-853-VIBE.
- 1:26:38Mandy: (laughing)
- 1:26:39Nora: Send it.
- 1:26:40Chris: You can text that number as well, 888-853-VIBE.
- 1:26:43Chris: Send us your dip picks.
- 1:26:44Nora: Send us your dip picks.
- 1:26:45Chris: Dip with a P. - Dip pick.
- 1:26:47Chris: As in not pornography.
- 1:26:51Nora: Right, say, "For Nora, here's your dip pick."
- 1:26:54Nora: If I don't have chili dogs tonight,
- 1:26:56Nora: I will have bean dip.
- 1:26:57Nora: (laughing)
- 1:26:58Chris: I mean, I appreciate bean dip, it's just not for me.
- 1:27:02Nora: I realized that I really like it this summer
- 1:27:05Nora: and it's like one of my staple meals now
- 1:27:08Nora: and I think I've made it four times
- 1:27:10Nora: in the last three weeks.
- 1:27:11Chris: Great source of protein.
- 1:27:13Nora: Protein, fiber, I put a bunch of pico on it
- 1:27:17Nora: so there's veggies and those aren't the veggies
- 1:27:20Nora: that are affected by the parasite so I'm all good.
- 1:27:24Nora: Period.
- 1:27:25Nora: Yeah.
- 1:27:25Mandy: Up we have a classic, it looks like a cheeseburger.
- 1:27:29Mandy: I have never in my life eaten a cheeseburger.
- 1:27:31Chris: S tier.
- 1:27:32Chris: You've never in your life eaten a cheeseburger?
- 1:27:34Mandy: No, 'cause I do not like cheese and meat touching.
- 1:27:37Chris: Oh, that's right.
- 1:27:37Chris: I forgot about that.
- 1:27:38Chris: But you've had a hamburger.
- 1:27:39Nora: I have had a hamburger.
- 1:27:41Nora: I don't really eat cheeseburgers, I eat hamburgers.
- 1:27:43Nora: I prefer it that way, 'cause cheese could be
- 1:27:45Nora: a little overpowering to the rest
- 1:27:46Nora: of the flavors of the burger,
- 1:27:48Nora: so I just go for the flavors of the burger.
- 1:27:49Nora: Like just melted cheese.
- 1:27:50Nora: But you're right, S.
- 1:27:52Chris: I eat far too many cheeseburgers.
- 1:27:53Chris: I had a cheeseburger for lunch.
- 1:27:56Chris: Before the show I could live without them, but I don't want to live in a world without them. That's totally fair
- 1:28:02Mandy: Um, so the next up it looks like it's dr. Pepper sausages, which can be those bratwurst can go
- 1:28:08Chris: I don't know. I don't think they're dr. Pepper
- 1:28:11Mandy: I'm pretty sure any form of sausage from now
- 1:28:17Mandy: Mandy's my okay, that's sad. So sorry. I ruined that
- 1:28:22Mandy: Sausage at this point. It was right out. I'm like a brat. So where do we?
- 1:28:29Chris: It's above the corn dog. You're gonna be like ordering pizza and be like you want sausage on it. You're like, oh
- 1:28:39Mandy: Nice old weeds, hey you want some here's your dr. Pepper, honey
- 1:28:46Chris: Many has post-traumatic sausage disorder
- 1:28:49Chris: (laughing)
- 1:28:55Nora: PTSD.
- 1:28:58Nora: It's true, she does.
- 1:29:01Mandy: Oh yeah, where's Charles coming in
- 1:29:03Mandy: with those sausage jokes?
- 1:29:05Mandy: (laughing)
- 1:29:06Mandy: Okay, so where are we putting these even though-
- 1:29:08Nora: I would say it's above the corn dogs.
- 1:29:11Nora: Wow, gross.
- 1:29:13Nora: Yeah.
- 1:29:13Nora: No, but on B tier though,
- 1:29:15Nora: it doesn't have to be on A tier.
- 1:29:18Nora: Between yeah, I think B is B is reasonable. Yeah, I like works a lot
- 1:29:23Chris: But yes, I'm definitely traumatized. So yeah
- 1:29:28Nora: TST I don't have a problem. I'll probably buy Brad's later this I love some fresh corn though fresh
- 1:29:35Chris: Really good corn especially like roasted corn
- 1:29:40Chris: Lote there's a restaurant in Greeley that we've been meaning to try those fucking elotes
- 1:29:47Nora: I want to go so badly.
- 1:29:48Nora: I'm gonna, I wanna, I need to try that.
- 1:29:50Nora: I did see an ad for them recently.
- 1:29:52Chris: Yeah, we are going Mandy, we're going.
- 1:29:54Nora: Oh my God, it's one of the best things.
- 1:29:57Nora: But I don't care what you people say.
- 1:29:59Chris: That's fine.
- 1:29:59Mandy: Was that a la fresca?
- 1:30:01Mandy: No, it looks like a slushie of slushie
- 1:30:03Mandy: and I'm there for all of them.
- 1:30:04Mandy: I love, I'm not big on sweets, but I love sugary drinks.
- 1:30:09Mandy: So give me something frozen and sugary and I'm there.
- 1:30:11Chris: But wait, okay, hold on, wait a second.
- 1:30:13Chris: You're saying give me something frozen and sugary,
- 1:30:15Chris: but you were poo-pooing the Otter Pops,
- 1:30:18Mandy: which are literally the same thing.
- 1:30:20Mandy: No, no, no, I like Otter Pops.
- 1:30:21Mandy: What I was saying is I don't feel like
- 1:30:23Mandy: something that somebody made from scratch
- 1:30:25Mandy: can be the same as something you just stuck in the freezer
- 1:30:27Mandy: and then handed to somebody.
- 1:30:28Chris: Yeah. - Oh, okay.
- 1:30:30Chris: All right, partial credit.
- 1:30:32Nora: Okay, so watermelon, ew.
- 1:30:33Nora: Watermelon, I would say, is definitely like a B
- 1:30:37Nora: because there's really good watermelon
- 1:30:39Nora: and then there's really bad watermelon.
- 1:30:41Chris: It's C or D for me.
- 1:30:43Nora: I don't like the watermelon.
- 1:30:44Chris: I don't like the seeds.
- 1:30:46Chris: The taste is whatever.
- 1:30:48Nora: I have to eat seedless watermelon.
- 1:30:50Nora: Bad water.
- 1:30:51Nora: And then the other thing,
- 1:30:53Nora: the only reason that I eat watermelon
- 1:30:54Nora: is because it is a vehicle for tajin to get in my body.
- 1:30:58Mandy: Yes, but some of us are allergic and it just is sadness.
- 1:31:04Mandy: Yeah, no.
- 1:31:04Mandy: Watermelon.
- 1:31:05Mandy: I don't mind watermelon flavor,
- 1:31:06Mandy: that texture, the mani-meli.
- 1:31:08Mandy: Oh, so gross.
- 1:31:09Chris: Yeah.
- 1:31:10Chris: My niece, who's 12 years old,
- 1:31:13Chris: carries around a bottle of tahini with her at all times.
- 1:31:15Chris: As she should.
- 1:31:17Chris: She eats it straight.
- 1:31:18Nora: As she should.
- 1:31:19Nora: There's this one drag queen who'll do tahini shots
- 1:31:22Nora: before they go on stage.
- 1:31:23Nora: So they'll lick their hand, pour the tahini on,
- 1:31:26Nora: lick the tahini on, and they're ready to go.
- 1:31:28Chris: Oh my God.
- 1:31:29Chris: (laughing)
- 1:31:30Chris: It's like cocaine.
- 1:31:31Chris: I'm here for tahini.
- 1:31:33Mandy: I've done it.
- 1:31:35Mandy: (laughing)
- 1:31:36Nora: It was good.
- 1:31:36Mandy: Growing up as a Mexican child,
- 1:31:38Mandy: that's all the sorts of candies you eat.
- 1:31:40Mandy: They're all like,
- 1:31:41Mandy: They're all covered with that, yeah.
- 1:31:43Mandy: And you couldn't have any of it I could then I was not allergic at that time
- 1:31:47Mandy: I had that that became a new thing
- 1:31:50Mandy: ice cream I
- 1:31:52Nora: Think ice cream is a tear with the otter pops. I don't think ice cream is worse than otter pops
- 1:31:58Chris: No, I love ice cream though. You don't tend to see it too often at like picnic sort of events really
- 1:32:04Mandy: Oh, he bought some for the 4th of July and someone forgot to serve it
- 1:32:09Chris: You were holding out on us
- 1:32:11Mandy: So now we have like 9 million little baby bluebell
- 1:32:15Mandy: Tins, oh, that's funny freezer and I don't eat ice cream because it's dairy, right? Oh, man. It's just water. That's Esther
- 1:32:24Chris: You got to have water. You got to stay hydrated
- 1:32:26Mandy: I mean, it looks refreshing as I'm melting back here and the lights it does look refreshing does
- 1:32:33Mandy: Lemonade a see I will always say I would rather have an Arnold Palmer
- 1:32:38Mandy: to then just straight lemonade.
- 1:32:40Mandy: My roommate and I have been having mint lemonade.
- 1:32:42Mandy: Ooh, I do like that. - It is so damn good.
- 1:32:45Mandy: You need to do basil, it's amazing.
- 1:32:48Chris: I do like lemonade as a delivery vehicle
- 1:32:51Chris: for other flavors.
- 1:32:52Chris: I like regular just lemonade on its own.
- 1:32:55Chris: Fresh squeezed lemonade is very good.
- 1:32:57Chris: But if you add another fruit to it,
- 1:32:59Chris: if you add strawberry, if you add even watermelon.
- 1:33:02Nora: Have you ever had blackberry moonshine lemonade?
- 1:33:05Nora: Not moonshine, but I have that blackberry lemonade.
- 1:33:07Nora: It's so good.
- 1:33:09Nora: The blackberry moonshine lemonade is really good.
- 1:33:11Chris: That sounds delightful.
- 1:33:12Nora: You can't taste the alcohol at all.
- 1:33:13Nora: Okay, so are we going B or are we going A?
- 1:33:14Nora: A.
- 1:33:15Mandy: I would say it's the beginning of A.
- 1:33:17Chris: Ooh.
- 1:33:18Mandy: Oh, like at the top?
- 1:33:19Mandy: Yeah.
- 1:33:20Mandy: Wow, okay.
- 1:33:22Mandy: (laughing)
- 1:33:22Mandy: That's bold.
- 1:33:23Mandy: I know.
- 1:33:24Mandy: Okay, so the next one,
- 1:33:25Mandy: I have issues with it being here, honestly.
- 1:33:28Mandy: Baked potatoes are lovely and I adore them.
- 1:33:31Mandy: However, in the summer, they just,
- 1:33:33Chris: make it so hot in your house. Yeah, all in winter food. Full disclosure, I did not pick this entire
- 1:33:42Chris: list. So some of these items were already on here. I would not have chosen baked potatoes.
- 1:33:47Mandy: But since it's here, um, like I love it any other time of the year, I would say C or D.
- 1:33:52Chris: I'd say D because it's not a summer food. It is most definitely not a summer food. And I
- 1:33:57Mandy: love a good fruit salad, a nice cold fruit salad. That sounds lovely. I will pick out all the gross
- 1:34:03Nora: I don't like my fruit touching each other.
- 1:34:06Mandy: I... oh.
- 1:34:07Nora: I don't like it. I don't like fruit cocktail. I don't like fruit salad. I don't like my fruit touching each other.
- 1:34:12Nora: I mean, fruit cocktail's gross, 'cause what is that?
- 1:34:14Nora: Give me all of the fruits separated and I will make my own salad.
- 1:34:19Nora: Okay, so now we need the actor to weigh in.
- 1:34:22Chris: This is gonna be hard because I don't feel strongly one way or the other about fruit salad.
- 1:34:27Chris: I think it's fine if it's there. I'm usually not going to
- 1:34:32Nora: Put some on my plate. I swear if there's like a melon and a grape in the fruit salad
- 1:34:37Nora: I will not touch it. I mean I will see you together
- 1:34:40Mandy: I agree that and I pick out any melon in any my freestyle. So I think cantaloupe is disgusting
- 1:34:46Chris: It is honeydew. I'm not a can't do is fine. It's just there. It's it's like the lettuce of fruit
- 1:34:54Nora: all by honeydew
- 1:34:57Nora: Which one's that steak? Yeah. Yeah, you're right. Preemptive. Yeah. Oh, yeah, especially when it's like rare medium
- 1:35:02Mandy: Orange sickle this one. I have no input in it's not for me. I'm not an orange sickle. Is this a bomb pop?
- 1:35:08Nora: Or an orange sickle. It just looks orange sickle. I'm not an orange
- 1:35:12Nora: Orange cream is not the right flavor combination for me personally. C or D
- 1:35:15Chris: I think orange cream only works in the in the soda format
- 1:35:20Chris: But not yeah, not as these these these don't do much for me. Hey sloppy joes. I love sloppy joes
- 1:35:25Nora: That was a staple in my household as a kid.
- 1:35:28Chris: I like sloppy Joes, but it just,
- 1:35:31Chris: it reminds me that I'd rather be eating a cheeseburger.
- 1:35:35Chris: (laughing)
- 1:35:37Chris: So it's just, it's the cocktease of meat sandwiches.
- 1:35:41Mandy: If I show up to your barbecue or your grill out,
- 1:35:44Mandy: whatever, and you hand me a sloppy Joe,
- 1:35:46Mandy: I'm like, "Oh, thank you."
- 1:35:48Mandy: And then politely going and getting
- 1:35:49Mandy: something else for dinner.
- 1:35:50Mandy: Fair.
- 1:35:52Nora: I mean, I wouldn't serve it.
- 1:35:53Nora: Like, it was like a family meal,
- 1:35:54Nora: like when my mom needed something easy to cook.
- 1:35:56Nora: Like it wasn't like a special meal.
- 1:35:58Nora: Oh yeah, I ate a lot of sloppy joes as a kid.
- 1:35:59Mandy: I've never been to, but like, somebody visiting.
- 1:36:02Mandy: I feel like they're poverty meals.
- 1:36:04Mandy: Yeah, a little bit.
- 1:36:05Mandy: And I don't look at those with fondness.
- 1:36:08Chris: Same here, and I enjoyed sloppy joes,
- 1:36:10Chris: and I would still enjoy a sloppy joe
- 1:36:12Chris: if like, if it was a homemade one.
- 1:36:14Chris: But there are other things I would rather have.
- 1:36:17Mandy: So are we putting this at C or D?
- 1:36:19Mandy: C.
- 1:36:20Chris: I think it's a solid C.
- 1:36:22Chris: I also would argue it's not really much of a summer food
- 1:36:24Chris: I mean, it's more of a fall or winter thing.
- 1:36:26Mandy: Like I said, right?
- 1:36:27Mandy: Like if you're having people over for a grill out,
- 1:36:29Mandy: are you giving them a sloppy joe?
- 1:36:31Chris: No. - No.
- 1:36:32Chris: They're messy, they're a pain in the ass.
- 1:36:34Mandy: No, and you're not-- - Sticky hands.
- 1:36:35Chris: You're not enjoying the outside.
- 1:36:37Chris: It's not, you know?
- 1:36:38Chris: You wanna give them something that's easily portable
- 1:36:40Chris: that they can walk around with and chat and all that, yeah.
- 1:36:43Nora: I mean, like there's a reason
- 1:36:44Nora: that a walk-in taco exists, you know?
- 1:36:46Chris: I didn't know walking tacos were a thing
- 1:36:48Chris: until like a year ago, and my life has changed now.
- 1:36:51Chris: It's amazing. - They're pretty cool.
- 1:36:52Mandy: I'm trying to figure out what this is.
- 1:36:54Mandy: Is this cornbread?
- 1:36:55Mandy: Is this?
- 1:36:56Chris: Oh, those are fried Oreos.
- 1:36:58Mandy: Oh.
- 1:36:59Chris: I did add those because that's very, that's fair food.
- 1:37:03Chris: I personally love fried Oreos.
- 1:37:05Chris: Yes, they are disgusting.
- 1:37:06Chris: Yes, they are horrible for you, but they are divine.
- 1:37:10Chris: (laughing)
- 1:37:10Chris: So gross.
- 1:37:11Nora: Yeah, personally, I just like my Oreos with milk.
- 1:37:14Mandy: I don't need them fried.
- 1:37:15Mandy: I would never eat it.
- 1:37:17Mandy: But like I said, once again,
- 1:37:18Mandy: like I don't do packaged foods a lot.
- 1:37:20Mandy: I don't, this isn't for me.
- 1:37:23Mandy: I don't do sweets.
- 1:37:24Chris: It's the sort of thing that I'm happy to have once a year
- 1:37:27Chris: and then forget about it until the following year.
- 1:37:29Nora: I think that counts as a C tier.
- 1:37:31Nora: Okay. - Sure.
- 1:37:32Nora: 'Cause if you only eat it once a year
- 1:37:34Nora: and not want it any other time, then it's not.
- 1:37:36Chris: Yeah.
- 1:37:37Nora: What's the next one? - Funnel cake.
- 1:37:39Chris: Yeah, the last of these are specifically fair food.
- 1:37:42Chris: So yeah, funnel cake.
- 1:37:45Chris: Funnel cake's fine.
- 1:37:47Nora: I would put it in B tier, like after a hot dog.
- 1:37:50Nora: It's definitely something that is seasonal.
- 1:37:53Nora: I like it, but I don't want to have it all the time.
- 1:37:56Nora: Maybe I should go and see.
- 1:37:58Nora: I've had one once.
- 1:37:59Chris: And what was your verdict?
- 1:38:01Mandy: I was like, why?
- 1:38:02Mandy: It's fried.
- 1:38:02Mandy: Just like why?
- 1:38:03Mandy: Like, I don't know.
- 1:38:04Mandy: But once again, right?
- 1:38:05Mandy: Like, I don't have that sweet tooth unless it's in, you know, the way God intended in
- 1:38:09Mandy: liquid form.
- 1:38:10Mandy: Fair enough.
- 1:38:11Mandy: I feel similarly.
- 1:38:12Mandy: So this last one looks like turkey leg.
- 1:38:15Mandy: And I will say I'm moving it to S tier without, I don't care what you say.
- 1:38:19Mandy: I would never eat it in a million years.
- 1:38:22Mandy: There's not enough money in the world.
- 1:38:23Mandy: I would starve to death rather than eating this.
- 1:38:25Mandy: My art food would never.
- 1:38:26Mandy: I think it's disgusting.
- 1:38:27Mandy: I hate turkey.
- 1:38:28Mandy: All these things.
- 1:38:29Mandy: I adore watching people eat them.
- 1:38:31Mandy: My phone, on my phone-
- 1:38:33Mandy: They smell great.
- 1:38:34Mandy: My contact picture for Lynn is her eating a turkey leg
- 1:38:39Mandy: like 10, 12 years ago.
- 1:38:41Nora: Why is it turkey legs smell far better than they taste?
- 1:38:44Chris: I think it's just the way they're roasted.
- 1:38:47Nora: It's the smoke?
- 1:38:47Chris: Yeah.
- 1:38:48Nora: 'Cause they smell incredible.
- 1:38:50Nora: They taste dry.
- 1:38:53Nora: (laughing)
- 1:38:53Chris: Unless you get a carny who knows what they're doing.
- 1:38:57Chris: Right.
- 1:38:58Chris: I love turkey in many, many forms.
- 1:39:03Chris: Turkey leg is not my favorite form of turkey.
- 1:39:05Chris: Thanksgiving food is my favorite form of turkey,
- 1:39:08Chris: but I will not turn down a turkey leg.
- 1:39:10Mandy: I just adore watching people eat it.
- 1:39:13Mandy: It is.
- 1:39:13Mandy: I can watch them eat, like once again,
- 1:39:15Mandy: like my favorite photo of Lynn, it's my favorite,
- 1:39:17Mandy: is her just like.
- 1:39:19Nora: My dog has, is like a tan color,
- 1:39:21Nora: And so when she splits, she has turkey legs.
- 1:39:24Nora: Oh, the best turkey legs. - They're really awesome.
- 1:39:25Nora: Like the best, like Renaissance Fair fresh turkey legs.
- 1:39:28Chris: That is so cute.
- 1:39:29Nora: Those are my dog's legs. - I love that.
- 1:39:30Chris: Should we go to the Renaissance Fair this year?
- 1:39:33Mandy: I don't know.
- 1:39:34Mandy: It's kind of a lot of work. - I don't know.
- 1:39:35Mandy: I like to go, but it's usually on the wrong weekend.
- 1:39:38Mandy: The one in Loveland is really nice.
- 1:39:41Nora: The one in Larkspur is like, it's like a weekend trip.
- 1:39:44Nora: I don't wanna just do it for like a half day.
- 1:39:47Nora: I feel like that would half-ass it.
- 1:39:49Nora: 'Cause first of all, it takes four hours
- 1:39:50Nora: to drive down there.
- 1:39:51Nora: Second of all, there's like a shit ton of people that go
- 1:39:55Nora: and I would wanna go all out with my costume
- 1:39:58Nora: and I don't have a single element
- 1:40:01Nora: of Renaissance fair costume as of today.
- 1:40:03Nora: I have something you can borrow.
- 1:40:05Mandy: Okay, I wanna be a fairy.
- 1:40:08Mandy: I am currently in the process of making a fairy gown
- 1:40:11Mandy: and I have until Saturday night.
- 1:40:13Mandy: I have a ball I'm going to,
- 1:40:15Mandy: so I have until Saturday night to get it done and finished.
- 1:40:17Mandy: So why am I here?
- 1:40:18Nora: show us pictures.
- 1:40:20Nora: So, on that, let's wrap up tonight.
- 1:40:22Nora: Good night, it's a great show.
- 1:40:24Nora: Love you all, thank you for being here.
- 1:40:25Nora: Bring pictures for that next week.
- 1:40:28Nora: We're gonna do a birthday show,
- 1:40:29Nora: we're gonna talk about the slap-off,
- 1:40:31Nora: we're gonna slap Charles, we're gonna eat ants.
- 1:40:34Nora: (laughing)
- 1:40:37Nora: I don't think I'm gonna have it ordered by next week,
- 1:40:39Nora: but yeah, I think that's, we had a good show today.
- 1:40:43Nora: Nope, key button.
- 1:40:44Nora: Key, yep, there we go, you got it.
- 1:40:46Nora: Mandy ran this whole show with like, very few hiccups.
- 1:40:50Nora: Very proud of you.
- 1:40:52Chris: All by yourself.
- 1:40:53Nora: Yeah, and Chris, thank you for joining me
- 1:40:55Nora: here at this table.
- 1:40:56Nora: Thank you for having me.
- 1:40:57Chris: This was fun. - While it was weird,
- 1:40:58Chris: it was also fun.
- 1:40:59Chris: It's not nearly as terrifying
- 1:41:01Chris: as I was dreading it would be.
- 1:41:03Chris: I'm scary.
- 1:41:03Chris: Which sounds like a backhanded compliment, but it's not.
- 1:41:05Chris: Folks, thank you so much for tuning in.
- 1:41:07Chris: We're glad that you spent your Wednesday evening with us.
- 1:41:12Chris: These two will be back next week,
- 1:41:14Chris: as will Charles, assuming he doesn't die.
- 1:41:17Nora: And we love you.
- 1:41:18Chris: We love you.
- 1:41:19Nora: Take care.
- 1:41:19Nora: Bye.
- 1:41:20Nora: Kisses.
- 1:41:24Announcer: This is Loudspeaker.
