- 2:38SPEAKER_08: Right.
- 2:39SPEAKER_08: I mean my hands are still pretty good, yeah.
- 2:41SPEAKER_08: But my legs are shot.

- 2:55SPEAKER_08: Other than that, eh, go see him.
- 2:57SPEAKER_15: You can't beat him, teach.
- 2:58SPEAKER_08: He can, yeah.
- 2:59SPEAKER_08: What is it saying?
- 3:00SPEAKER_08: Uh those that can do, those that can do, and those that can't teach.
- 3:07SPEAKER_15: Right.
- 3:07SPEAKER_15: So that's that's where I am.
- 3:09SPEAKER_15: This is awesome.
- 3:11SPEAKER_15: Um so uh Merry Christmas.
- 3:13SPEAKER_15: Merry Christmas! This is our Christmas episode.
- 3:20SPEAKER_15: You know what?
- 3:20SPEAKER_15: I should I probably should see if I have any uh Christmas like uh sounds or something like that.
- 3:26SPEAKER_15: Kind of should it should have like a Santa mode atmosphere, yeah.
- 3:31SPEAKER_15: Serve for some atmosphere.
- 3:33SPEAKER_15: Um let's let's kick off the podcast uh with the biggest news.
- 3:38SPEAKER_15: Yes.
- 3:39SPEAKER_15: I am uh officially a grandfather.
- 3:42SPEAKER_05: Yay!
- 3:44SPEAKER_15: Um, I did not get to show you before we started the podcast.
- 3:46SPEAKER_15: I'm gonna show you now.
- 3:48SPEAKER_15: Um you won't be able to hear the video because we're kind of Yeah, that's fine.
- 3:53SPEAKER_15: You know, but uh I want you to see how alert this um one day old is.
- 4:02SPEAKER_15: Did you see that?
- 4:03SPEAKER_08: He has a V on his forehead.
- 4:05SPEAKER_15: Yeah, it's a stork bite.
- 4:07SPEAKER_15: Have you ever heard of that stork bite?
- 4:09SPEAKER_15: Never heard of that before.
- 4:10SPEAKER_15: We had it well that actually I was showing it to some of the teachers at school and it's like, oh, I love the little heart on his forehead.
- 4:16SPEAKER_08: Oh, now he's crying.
- 4:17SPEAKER_15: Yeah, yeah.
- 4:18SPEAKER_15: Okay, great.
- 4:18SPEAKER_15: Uh he's like, oh my word, what is happening?
- 4:22SPEAKER_08: Whaaa!
- 4:22SPEAKER_15: Right, so a stork bite, uh, and I don't know.
- 4:26SPEAKER_15: Uh um, I probably should look that up actually, because Jude had one and for the longest- Oh, did he?
- 4:30SPEAKER_15: Yeah, for the longest time we thought it was a birthmark.
- 4:33SPEAKER_08: Well, that's what it looks like.
- 4:34SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 4:35SPEAKER_08: It's like, is it gonna be like a Harry Potter?
- 4:37SPEAKER_08: Had that all his life?
- 4:39SPEAKER_15: Um, Jude has it, but it only shows up when he's like um stressed.
- 4:47SPEAKER_15: Oh, so you know, or something.
- 4:49SPEAKER_15: Let me uh I just Googled it.
- 4:50SPEAKER_15: A stork bite is a common, harmless, flat salmon pink birthmark.
- 4:53SPEAKER_15: Oh, so it is a birthmark, found in newborns, appearing on the eyelids, forehead, nose, upper lip, or back of the neck, often darkening with crying or temperature changes, and usually fading as the child grows.
- 5:04SPEAKER_15: Judes did fade.
- 5:05SPEAKER_15: I mean, but it it shows up, you know, every once in a while, but it's it's it's faded.
- 5:09SPEAKER_15: So uh medically known as Nevis Flammius or salmon patch, it's caused by dilated capillaries, typically requires no treatment, but can be cosmetically treated with laser therapy if persistent.
- 5:21SPEAKER_15: It's something that could go away.
- 5:23SPEAKER_15: I mean, it it probably and it probably will.
- 5:25SPEAKER_15: Um but for you know, I didn't I didn't know it was called a stork bite until I've never heard of it.
- 5:31SPEAKER_15: Until uh Jude actually actually um kind of filled us in on that.
- 5:36SPEAKER_15: Um trying to Yeah, he's a cute bugger.
- 5:38SPEAKER_08: I I I messaged Jude after you you told me.
- 5:42SPEAKER_08: Right.
- 5:43SPEAKER_08: And so I sent him a message and then Jude sent back a picture of him.
- 5:46SPEAKER_08: He was all bundled up and he was wearing a hat.
- 5:49SPEAKER_13: Yeah, yeah.
- 5:50SPEAKER_08: I was like, oh.
- 5:51SPEAKER_08: For a second, for a second, because he was wearing like a pinkish hat.
- 5:54SPEAKER_08: I was like, what's called?
- 5:57SPEAKER_08: I thought he was a boy.
- 5:59unknown: Right.
- 5:59SPEAKER_08: He's a boy, right?
- 6:01SPEAKER_15: Salmon, it's a salmon hat.
- 6:02SPEAKER_08: Yeah, I was like, I was like, uh they must not do that anymore.
- 6:04SPEAKER_08: No, I don't know.
- 6:05SPEAKER_08: That must be not a thing.
- 6:06SPEAKER_08: I don't think so.
- 6:07SPEAKER_08: They're just like here, there's a hat on the baby.
- 6:09SPEAKER_08: Keep his head warm.
- 6:09SPEAKER_08: Yeah, that's that's the main thing.
- 6:11SPEAKER_08: Yeah, exactly.
- 6:12SPEAKER_08: It doesn't matter what color it is.
- 6:13SPEAKER_08: Exactly.
- 6:13SPEAKER_08: So yeah.
- 6:14SPEAKER_08: Um he's a good looking kid.
- 6:16SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 6:16SPEAKER_08: He really is.
- 6:17SPEAKER_08: Yeah, I think he he kind of of course he has good-looking parents, so I mean just well, his mom anyway.
- 6:21SPEAKER_08: Well, yeah.
- 6:22SPEAKER_15: Um what do you mean?
- 6:23SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 6:23SPEAKER_08: Yeah, well hey Jude, I love you, man.
- 6:28SPEAKER_08: But Chr Kristen's way out of your league.
- 6:31SPEAKER_08: So you traded up, my friend.
- 6:35SPEAKER_15: Um the so so it's a lot to be that far away, you know, for your first baby, I think.
- 6:44SPEAKER_15: And so they're doing everything they can.
- 6:46SPEAKER_15: As a matter of fact, I think they're com they're coming home this weekend.
- 6:48SPEAKER_08: Well, that's what Tree said.
- 6:49SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 6:50SPEAKER_08: Said they're coming back this week.
- 6:51SPEAKER_08: I was like, I was like, when are you gonna get to you know be with the baby?
- 6:54SPEAKER_08: And she's like, Oh, I think they're coming up Friday.
- 6:57SPEAKER_08: And I was like, Yeah.
- 6:58SPEAKER_08: Wow.
- 6:59SPEAKER_15: Which is all right, which is gonna be a lot, you know, because uh I mean he's not even a week old.
- 7:03SPEAKER_15: Right.
- 7:03SPEAKER_15: So Jude is very, very prot protective and and you know, he's like, Oh, sure.
- 7:09SPEAKER_15: Nope, Christian sits in the back with a baby.
- 7:10SPEAKER_15: She's staying in the back with the baby.
- 7:12SPEAKER_08: Is he is he gonna wrap wrap them both in bubble wrappers?
- 7:15SPEAKER_08: I don't know.
- 7:17SPEAKER_08: Put a roll cage.
- 7:19SPEAKER_15: I can't wait to see because you know, I'm not gonna be one of those grandparents.
- 7:24SPEAKER_15: And and but I think both my wife Well, you are a grandparent.
- 7:27SPEAKER_15: Well, I know, but both my wife and I agree that you know um any like any things that they do with the baby that we don't necessarily think is right, we may we may question it, but it's none of our business.
- 7:46SPEAKER_08: Oh, so it's like, oh, it's like a parenting thing.
- 7:49SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 7:50SPEAKER_08: Yeah, so it's like it was like, oh, oh, you're you you're giving the baby that?
- 7:54SPEAKER_08: Okay, that's fun.
- 7:56unknown: Right.
- 7:57SPEAKER_14: Very, very subtle.
- 7:58SPEAKER_14: That's good.
- 7:59SPEAKER_08: Oh, you're gonna let him ride on the roof?
- 8:01SPEAKER_08: That's cool.
- 8:03SPEAKER_15: It's gonna fall, but whatever.
- 8:04SPEAKER_08: You know, just drag a blog to the at the back of the oh, a stroller.
- 8:09SPEAKER_08: Uh with a V8 engine.
- 8:12SPEAKER_08: Cool.
- 8:13SPEAKER_08: All right, that's gonna be awesome.
- 8:14SPEAKER_08: He's gonna love it.
- 8:16SPEAKER_15: No, what I mean.
- 8:17SPEAKER_15: What I mean is we're not gonna be those.
- 8:20SPEAKER_08: Oh, he's got a sparkler.
- 8:21SPEAKER_08: He's six months old.
- 8:22SPEAKER_08: All right, cool, all right.
- 8:25SPEAKER_15: Um, we're we're we're not gonna be those parents that kind of involve ourselves in the raising of the kid.
- 8:31SPEAKER_08: You know, we're gonna be there to to Well, I mean, you're not gonna be a helicopter.
- 8:35SPEAKER_08: Right, right, right, right.
- 8:35SPEAKER_08: Yeah, you know.
- 8:36SPEAKER_15: Um, but I can't wait to see um one of my children reverse roles.
- 8:45SPEAKER_15: Do you know what I mean?
- 8:46SPEAKER_15: Like like I was the dad to Jude, and I kind of can't wait to see how what kind of dad he is to the baby.
- 8:54SPEAKER_15: Right.
- 8:54SPEAKER_15: You know, I think he's gonna be a great dad for the ball.
- 8:55SPEAKER_15: Of course he is, yeah.
- 8:56SPEAKER_15: But you know, everybody has their own Well, he's gonna find his own style.
- 9:00SPEAKER_08: Exactly.
- 9:01SPEAKER_15: You know, yeah.
- 9:02SPEAKER_15: So I'm I'm excited about that.
- 9:03SPEAKER_15: I'm excited about seeing that.
- 9:04SPEAKER_08: I mean, Kristen's already Kristen was a mom already.
- 9:08SPEAKER_15: Oh yeah, for sure.
- 9:09SPEAKER_08: You know, she just needed a baby.
- 9:11SPEAKER_08: Yep.
- 9:11SPEAKER_08: You know, yep.
- 9:12SPEAKER_08: But you know, Jude, and Jude's Jude's very nurturing, I think.
- 9:16SPEAKER_08: Yeah, yeah.
- 9:16SPEAKER_08: He's got a good soul.
- 9:17SPEAKER_08: He does.
- 9:18SPEAKER_08: So it's like it's uh, you know, it's gonna be I think you know, I mean I'm not gonna say it's a piece of cake.
- 9:22SPEAKER_15: No, no, no, no.
- 9:23SPEAKER_08: But I mean they're gonna I think they're gonna have it easier as first-time parents than a lot of yeah, people do.
- 9:30SPEAKER_08: They got a lot of support just because of who they are, yeah.
- 9:32SPEAKER_08: And of course, yeah, like you said, the support system around them.
- 9:35SPEAKER_14: Yep.
- 9:36SPEAKER_08: Especially when they get up here.
- 9:37SPEAKER_14: Right.
- 9:38SPEAKER_08: Because that baby is never gonna be alone ever.
- 9:42SPEAKER_08: It's gonna be like, where's Peter?
- 9:43SPEAKER_08: Where's Pete?
- 9:44SPEAKER_08: Where's Pete?
- 9:45SPEAKER_08: Oh, he's right there.
- 9:46SPEAKER_08: Why is he not in my arms?
- 9:48SPEAKER_08: Why is he by himself?
- 9:50SPEAKER_08: That is not acceptable.
- 9:52SPEAKER_08: I'm not having this!
- 9:55SPEAKER_15: Yeah, not helicopter parents at all.
- 9:57SPEAKER_15: No.
- 9:57SPEAKER_15: Grandparents at all.
- 9:59SPEAKER_15: And you the question you asked, have I decided on a name?
- 10:02SPEAKER_15: Not really.
- 10:03SPEAKER_08: Uh well, I walked in and Teresa was upstairs.
- 10:06SPEAKER_08: I was like, hi, Grammy.
- 10:07SPEAKER_08: She's like, Nana.
- 10:08SPEAKER_08: I'm like, oh Nana.
- 10:09SPEAKER_08: Yeah, I forgot.
- 10:09SPEAKER_08: Sorry.
- 10:09SPEAKER_08: Yeah, nana.
- 10:10SPEAKER_08: My bad.
- 10:11SPEAKER_15: Yeah, I I had said that I wanted to be bam bam, and they thought it was funny.
- 10:17SPEAKER_15: And I I I think it's kind of fun, you know.
- 10:19SPEAKER_15: So I'm I may go with I don't know.
- 10:21SPEAKER_15: But I said, and then I was like, nah, that's kind of silly.
- 10:24SPEAKER_15: Um, so I went with um Pops.
- 10:27SPEAKER_08: But isn't grandpa supposed to be kind of silly?
- 10:30SPEAKER_15: Yeah, yeah, I guess.
- 10:32SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 10:32SPEAKER_15: Um I I can't see I can't I can I can see him saying bam bam before Pops.
- 10:38SPEAKER_15: Oh yeah.
- 10:39SPEAKER_15: As a matter of fact, I can almost see him saying bam bam before dad that right?
- 10:45SPEAKER_15: I mean it happened.
- 10:46SPEAKER_08: Yeah, yeah.
- 10:48SPEAKER_08: Easier to say.
- 10:49SPEAKER_08: Hey, paint.
- 10:50SPEAKER_15: Right.
- 10:51SPEAKER_08: Stop.
- 10:52SPEAKER_08: It's your bam bam.
- 10:53SPEAKER_08: So uh we're we're pretty excited.
- 10:55SPEAKER_08: We But you know, you know, it doesn't matter what you call yourself, it's gonna matter what whatever he says.
- 10:59SPEAKER_08: Whatever he says.
- 10:59SPEAKER_08: That's what it's gonna be forever.
- 11:01SPEAKER_08: Exactly.
- 11:01SPEAKER_08: If he calls you poo-poo, that's gonna that's what you're gonna be for the rest of your life.
- 11:05SPEAKER_08: Poo poo.
- 11:06SPEAKER_08: I already am.
- 11:07SPEAKER_08: Here, you're poo-poo platter.
- 11:09SPEAKER_13: I'm a poopy head.

- 11:12SPEAKER_13: That's what my that's what my youngest calls me now.
- 11:14SPEAKER_13: What?
- 11:15SPEAKER_13: Pooh poo head?
- 11:15SPEAKER_13: Pooh, poopy head.
- 11:16SPEAKER_13: Poopy head?
- 11:17SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 11:17SPEAKER_08: Ah, you're doing a good job with that one.
- 11:23SPEAKER_08: Pillar of the community.
- 11:26SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 11:27SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 11:28SPEAKER_08: Um, I been.
- 11:29SPEAKER_08: Did your daughter just call you poopy head?
- 11:30SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 11:31SPEAKER_13: Yeah, I just take it.
- 11:33SPEAKER_08: Yeah, whatever.
- 11:34SPEAKER_13: I'm used to it.
- 11:35SPEAKER_13: Whatever, idiot.
- 11:39SPEAKER_15: So yeah, um, we're excited.
- 11:41SPEAKER_15: It uh it still hasn't hit us, and I don't think it will.
- 11:43SPEAKER_15: It won't, it won't until they get here.
- 11:44SPEAKER_15: Until until we see them.
- 11:46SPEAKER_15: Exactly.
- 11:46SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 11:46SPEAKER_15: So that's gonna be awesome.
- 11:48SPEAKER_15: Yeah, yeah, we're excited about it.
- 11:50SPEAKER_08: I don't blame you, man.
- 11:51SPEAKER_08: That's I was pretty excited.

- 12:04SPEAKER_08: You have a baby on Sunday, and then Wednesday you're gonna take a final.
- 12:08SPEAKER_08: Right.

- 12:51SPEAKER_15: Exactly.
- 12:52SPEAKER_15: Where am I?

- 13:18SPEAKER_15: We didn't sing or anything.
- 13:19SPEAKER_15: We were picking songs.
- 13:21SPEAKER_08: You're still trying to figure out what you're gonna do?
- 13:22SPEAKER_15: We're still trying to figure out what we're gonna do, but I have informed them that we're without a piano player.
- 13:27SPEAKER_15: Um Did you at least bring up?
- 13:29SPEAKER_15: I did not.
- 13:31SPEAKER_15: Well, I meet with my jazz choir on Friday.
- 13:33SPEAKER_08: Okay, just just just put it out there in passing, see what they say.
- 13:38SPEAKER_08: I I would be curious to see what they say.
- 13:40SPEAKER_08: Okay.
- 13:41SPEAKER_08: You know, just be like, hey, you know, you know, Doug, that moron that's on the podcast with me, he had this idea.
- 13:48SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 13:49SPEAKER_08: And just and you know, you're gonna get stony silence.
- 13:52SPEAKER_08: And then like, you know, no, no, no, no, hell no, you know.
- 13:58SPEAKER_15: Maybe I'll record it.
- 13:59SPEAKER_15: You should.
- 14:00SPEAKER_15: I'll record their reaction.
- 14:01SPEAKER_08: Yeah, absolutely.
- 14:02SPEAKER_15: So listen, my my friend Doug wanted to know if maybe we could just have like a scat conversation, and that would be one of the songs.
- 14:10SPEAKER_15: Crickets.
- 14:11SPEAKER_15: They'd be looking at me like huh?
- 14:13SPEAKER_15: Huh?
- 14:15SPEAKER_13: Scating, isn't that poop?
- 14:17SPEAKER_13: Right.
- 14:18SPEAKER_13: Poopyhead.
- 14:20SPEAKER_13: Mr.
- 14:20SPEAKER_13: Poopy Head.
- 14:24SPEAKER_13: Um I was just thinking of the title of the podcast of this episode.
- 14:28SPEAKER_13: Poopy Head.
- 14:29SPEAKER_13: The Adventures of Poopy Head.
- 14:30SPEAKER_13: Poopy Head and Doug.
- 14:31SPEAKER_13: Poopy Head and Doug.
- 14:34SPEAKER_15: Bam bam.
- 14:36SPEAKER_08: Bam bam.
- 14:37SPEAKER_08: Poopy.
- 14:37SPEAKER_08: Bam bam and poopy head.
- 14:41SPEAKER_08: Merry Christmas, Popy Head!
- 14:48SPEAKER_15: Um all right.
- 14:51SPEAKER_15: So let's do because I have a couple of things I want to do, but they were from Ultimate Classic Rock.
- 14:56SPEAKER_14: Right.
- 14:57SPEAKER_15: Um and but we want to keep this a Christmas episode.
- 15:01SPEAKER_15: What is what is Christmas at your house?
- 15:04SPEAKER_15: What is it like?
- 15:07SPEAKER_15: Do you you you do Christmas with your parents, is that right?
- 15:10SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 15:10SPEAKER_15: Yeah, okay.
- 15:10SPEAKER_15: So what what is that like?
- 15:15SPEAKER_15: Is it just like when you were a kid?
- 15:19SPEAKER_08: I g I guess.
- 15:21SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 15:22SPEAKER_08: I mean it's it's it's really simple now because there's only like one or two presents a person.
- 15:28SPEAKER_08: It's not like when you're a kid.
- 15:30SPEAKER_15: Okay, so I'm I'm glad you said that.
- 15:31SPEAKER_08: So you're just like, oh, here you here you go.
- 15:33SPEAKER_08: Oh, that's awesome.
- 15:34SPEAKER_08: Thank you.
- 15:35SPEAKER_15: I'm glad you said that.
- 15:36SPEAKER_08: Let's have breakfast.
- 15:37SPEAKER_15: Because uh my oldest made a suggestion, and I don't know, I mean, I I it's a good suggestion, but I don't know if I can stick to it.
- 15:49SPEAKER_15: Her suggestion was you know, why don't we do like almost like a Yankee swap next year?
- 15:58SPEAKER_15: And I was like okay.
- 16:00SPEAKER_15: You know, it's just like because so so so uh you don't have to buy for everybody.
- 16:07SPEAKER_15: Uh and you know, or so the nobody has to buy for everybody.
- 16:10SPEAKER_15: They buy for one person and they make it thoughtful, you know.
- 16:13SPEAKER_08: Like a Yankee swap or a secret Santa?
- 16:15SPEAKER_15: Secret Santa, I guess, maybe.
- 16:16SPEAKER_15: Okay, I guess is the better the better one.
- 16:18SPEAKER_15: That would that would make more sense.
- 16:20SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 16:20SPEAKER_15: The Secret Santa.
- 16:21SPEAKER_15: So so you you pick, you know.
- 16:23SPEAKER_08: I mean Yankee swap is brutal.
- 16:25SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 16:25SPEAKER_15: You know, depending on Yeah, you're right.
- 16:27SPEAKER_15: It wasn't Yankee Swap.
- 16:28SPEAKER_15: It was it was you're Secret Santa, I could say.
- 16:30SPEAKER_15: It was, you know, or you or you pick one person and you buy something for them.
- 16:34SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 16:34SPEAKER_15: Well, I mean put everybody's name in a hat and you know, oh I got and and at our age and uh economics, you know, status, uh, it makes perfect sense.
- 16:47SPEAKER_08: Yeah, stuff is expensive.
- 16:48SPEAKER_15: But does that you know, because I'm one of those guys, you know, and I get it from my mother.
- 16:54SPEAKER_15: It's a different generation, obviously, but I'm one of those guys that says, All right, I got this kid four presents.
- 17:02SPEAKER_08: Oh yeah.
- 17:03SPEAKER_15: So I kind of get the next one.
- 17:04SPEAKER_15: I kind of need to get this kid four presents.
- 17:06SPEAKER_15: Right.
- 17:07SPEAKER_15: You know?
- 17:08SPEAKER_15: Um and it's that's not necessarily a healthy way to do it, but I feel bad, you know.
- 17:15SPEAKER_15: Um or you know, you'll get all these little presents for one one kid, but one big big expensive present.
- 17:23SPEAKER_15: Sure.
- 17:23SPEAKER_15: And so you do that for all the kids, which can also get like one big one, yeah.
- 17:28SPEAKER_15: Which can also get very expensive.
- 17:29SPEAKER_15: Sure.
- 17:30SPEAKER_15: You know, so she's got a point and it's a I think it's a good idea.
- 17:34SPEAKER_15: I just don't know if it would mess up the Christmas spirit for me.
- 17:38SPEAKER_15: What do you think about that?
- 17:39SPEAKER_08: Well, I think I think starting January 1st, okay, you get a notebook and you start logging throughout the year, you give them all a point value.
- 17:50SPEAKER_13: The kids?
- 17:51SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 17:52SPEAKER_08: They all get a hundred points starting, you know, like at January 1st.
- 17:55SPEAKER_08: And then they get demerits?
- 17:56SPEAKER_08: Yes, exactly.
- 17:57SPEAKER_08: So if they do something, you're like, you know, oh, that's one last gift for you.
- 18:01SPEAKER_08: You know.
- 18:02SPEAKER_08: So I mean, if if it's like July.
- 18:04SPEAKER_15: Yeah, but you gotta stick to it.
- 18:06SPEAKER_15: Right.
- 18:06SPEAKER_08: That's what I'm saying.
- 18:07SPEAKER_08: You gotta stay.
- 18:08SPEAKER_08: It gets to July, and like, you know, Myra has like zero points.
- 18:13SPEAKER_08: Right.
- 18:14SPEAKER_08: You'd be like, well, I guess I guess you're not getting anything for Christmas, kid.
- 18:19SPEAKER_08: Merry Christmas to you, poopy head.
- 18:25SPEAKER_15: And then she thinks you're joking, and we get up Christmas morning.
- 18:28SPEAKER_08: She's like, Where's where's my presents?
- 18:31SPEAKER_08: What did I do?
- 18:32SPEAKER_08: You ran out of points in July, kid.
- 18:35SPEAKER_08: I mean, you're screwed.
- 18:36SPEAKER_08: I mean, you know.
- 18:39SPEAKER_08: What do you want me to do?
- 18:40SPEAKER_08: I mean, you know, do I look like Santa Claus?
- 18:43SPEAKER_08: Uh-uh.
- 18:44SPEAKER_08: Uh-uh.
- 18:46SPEAKER_08: No.
- 18:46SPEAKER_08: No, no, yeah, no.
- 18:48SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 18:49SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 18:49SPEAKER_08: So I think I think that's what you should.
- 18:52SPEAKER_08: I think you should bring that up to live and let her because she's smart.
- 18:55SPEAKER_08: She'll figure it out.
- 18:56SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 18:56SPEAKER_15: Oh no, she'll have a whole charting.
- 18:58SPEAKER_08: Yeah, I mean, she'll have it.
- 18:59SPEAKER_08: She'll it'll be like it'll be like a fantasy football thing.
- 19:02SPEAKER_08: She'll be like, oh yeah, yeah, Jude uh did this, but uh Finn did that.
- 19:06SPEAKER_08: So uh Finn loses points here and I think it's brilliant.
- 19:11SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 19:13SPEAKER_15: Um, because it it also will make the gift, at least I think, make the gift more meaningful to that person.
- 19:22SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 19:22SPEAKER_15: Because you could use you're the only one getting a present from you.
- 19:25SPEAKER_15: Right.
- 19:26SPEAKER_15: And so, like, um I know that my daughter really likes books.
- 19:31SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 19:32SPEAKER_15: So if I got her like her favorite book or whatever, or you know, whatever.
- 19:37SPEAKER_15: Um, I'm a music guy, so whoever got me would get something to do with music.
- 19:41SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 19:42SPEAKER_15: You know, I'm about to throw my wife under the bus.
- 19:45SPEAKER_15: Because uh uh my birthday was Friday.
- 19:50SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 19:51SPEAKER_08: Did you get anything for your birthday?
- 19:52SPEAKER_15: I well, I'm gonna tell you what I got for my birthday.
- 19:55SPEAKER_08: Because I asked Eli.
- 19:55SPEAKER_08: He hadn't even home.
- 19:56SPEAKER_08: We worked together Friday night.
- 19:58SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 19:58SPEAKER_08: And I was like, hey, what'd you dad get for his birthday?
- 20:00SPEAKER_08: He's like, I don't know.
- 20:01SPEAKER_08: And I was like, why?
- 20:02SPEAKER_08: And he's like, I've been home.
- 20:03SPEAKER_08: I was like, oh, that makes sense.
- 20:05SPEAKER_15: Uh so I will say this, and not that I'm complaining, because as we get older, as you know, uh birthdays mean less and less.
- 20:13SPEAKER_08: Yeah, nobody cares.
- 20:14SPEAKER_15: Yeah, nobody cares.
- 20:15SPEAKER_08: After after a certain while, right?
- 20:16SPEAKER_08: There's some people that are still like, oh, it's my birthday month.
- 20:19SPEAKER_15: Oh, yeah.
- 20:20SPEAKER_15: Well, apparently John Simonoff is one of those people.
- 20:22SPEAKER_15: Really?
- 20:23SPEAKER_08: I don't get it, man.
- 20:24SPEAKER_08: I'm just like I don't care.
- 20:25SPEAKER_08: Yeah, Jenna was like After a while, you just you just wake up and like, oh, it's oh, it's my birthday day.
- 20:31SPEAKER_15: That's exactly.
- 20:32SPEAKER_15: So anyway, um, none of my kids or my wife wished me a happy birthday the morning of my birthday.
- 20:38SPEAKER_15: Ouch.
- 20:39SPEAKER_15: None of them.
- 20:40SPEAKER_15: Um I walk, we I drove my daughter to school, and we were on the corner to turn to the school, and she was thinking about uh one of her friends that oh no, uh, she was thinking about Laura.
- 20:53SPEAKER_15: Um Blanchard, her birthday was the next day.
- 20:55SPEAKER_15: She's like, Laura's birthday's tomorrow.
- 20:57SPEAKER_15: And I was like, Oh yeah.
- 20:59SPEAKER_13: And then she goes, Oh, happy birthday.
- 21:04SPEAKER_15: Thanks.
- 21:05SPEAKER_15: Wow.
- 21:06SPEAKER_15: I appreciate that.
- 21:07SPEAKER_15: Although meaningful.
- 21:08SPEAKER_15: So so Jude remembered my birthday.
- 21:10SPEAKER_15: He he he texted me at like five o'clock in the morning.
- 21:14SPEAKER_15: But my wife, you know, yeah, have a good day.
- 21:17SPEAKER_15: My boys, yeah, yeah.
- 21:19SPEAKER_15: Uh she was half asleep in her defense.
- 21:23SPEAKER_15: Um and she had been working all night, so she was went to bed at like two o'clock in the morning.
- 21:28SPEAKER_15: So I and I kind of I never really gave her a hard time about it, but I would have because that's my personality.
- 21:33SPEAKER_15: Right.
- 21:34SPEAKER_15: Um, but uh, yeah, so and then that night, so that there was really no fanfare for my birthday, which is okay.
- 21:42SPEAKER_15: Yeah, it doesn't bother me.
- 21:44SPEAKER_15: Um and then I come home and she's like, you know, what do you it's your birthday, so what do you want for supper?
- 21:50SPEAKER_15: I was like, Oh, what do the kids want?
- 21:52SPEAKER_15: She's like, That's not what I asked.
- 21:53SPEAKER_15: What do you want?
- 21:55SPEAKER_15: And that's you know, she's like, Do you want to eat out?
- 22:00SPEAKER_15: I'm I don't know, it's expensive.
- 22:02SPEAKER_15: Whatever you want to do.
- 22:03SPEAKER_15: And I and I said she's like, Do you want f uh um Ferris?
- 22:07SPEAKER_15: Do you want governors?
- 22:08SPEAKER_15: I was like, Ah, let's go governors.
- 22:11SPEAKER_15: So we ordered um governors for all the kids and for me and for her.
- 22:17SPEAKER_15: And I went and got it.
- 22:18SPEAKER_15: Of course.
- 22:19SPEAKER_15: Yep.
- 22:20SPEAKER_15: And uh came home, we ate supper, and while I was gone, she made my special cake.
- 22:25SPEAKER_15: It's a cake that my mother had been making for me since I was a kid.
- 22:28SPEAKER_15: I think it was like since I was maybe twelve.
- 22:32SPEAKER_15: She makes me the same cake every year.
- 22:34SPEAKER_08: Is it that ice cream cake?
- 22:35SPEAKER_15: It was not ice cream, it's uh it's a banana split cake.
- 22:38SPEAKER_08: Oh, that's right.
- 22:38SPEAKER_15: Yes.
- 22:39SPEAKER_15: And but my mother said, when you turn 50, I'm not making for it for you anymore.
- 22:43SPEAKER_15: Somebody else is.
- 22:44SPEAKER_08: Oh, yeah, that's right.
- 22:45SPEAKER_08: I've yeah.
- 22:46SPEAKER_15: So my wife has made it, and my wife, my my mother doesn't listen to this podcast, so I can say this.
- 22:51SPEAKER_15: My wife's was better.
- 22:53SPEAKER_15: And shot spot.
- 22:55SPEAKER_15: And here's here's why, because she a she threw it together for one.
- 23:01SPEAKER_08: Well, I mean, she literally made it in between the time you ordered food and you went and got it.
- 23:04SPEAKER_08: Yeah, pretty much.
- 23:06SPEAKER_15: Pretty much.
- 23:06SPEAKER_15: That's impressive.
- 23:07SPEAKER_15: But but uh when I say she threw it together, um she left a lot of things out, which made it better, as far as I'm concerned.
- 23:17SPEAKER_15: Because there were some things that were not that that were missing that made my and don't get me wrong, I loved my mother's cake.
- 23:24SPEAKER_15: Uh, but it weighed you down.
- 23:26SPEAKER_15: There was something, I don't know what, I don't know what it was.
- 23:28SPEAKER_15: Bananas?
- 23:29SPEAKER_15: No, it wasn't the bananas, it was something that she put in there that weighed you down.
- 23:35SPEAKER_15: And you know, Teresa put everything in there that she could have or that she had or whatever.
- 23:41SPEAKER_15: But anyway, it was better.
- 23:43SPEAKER_15: So she so she made that cake for me and then she gave me a present.
- 23:47SPEAKER_15: It was a box.
- 23:47SPEAKER_15: And I was like, what is this?
- 23:49SPEAKER_15: She's like, happy birthday.
- 23:50SPEAKER_15: So, and this is a wife uh my wife I've been married to for um for 28 years.
- 23:55SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 23:57SPEAKER_15: And um if nothing else, my wife is how can I say this?
- 24:06SPEAKER_15: Um even in even when you buy her a present, she's not like a uh I mean she likes jewelry and stuff, but she's not like um she she's what's the word I'm looking for?
- 24:22SPEAKER_15: Um not resourceful, but but like uh it has to be it has to it has to be useful.
- 24:34SPEAKER_15: Useful.
- 24:35SPEAKER_15: Right.
- 24:35SPEAKER_15: Yes, it's gotta be there's a word I'm looking for and I can't remember what it is and she she would tell you what it is.
- 24:40SPEAKER_15: Oh I'm sure, yeah.
- 24:41SPEAKER_15: But it's she's smarter than both of us.
- 24:43SPEAKER_15: Yes, she is, absolutely.
- 24:44SPEAKER_15: So but uh so so she hands it to me and what what what as my best friend, what what would you think I would want for my birthday?
- 24:57SPEAKER_15: Okay, I don't want to.
- 24:59SPEAKER_15: Don't go there, don't go there.
- 25:00SPEAKER_15: I mean No, no, no.
- 25:03SPEAKER_15: Boobies.
- 25:06SPEAKER_15: Well, I didn't get that.
- 25:07SPEAKER_15: Sorry, Blanche, but it's true.
- 25:10SPEAKER_15: Um no, seriously.
- 25:11SPEAKER_15: I mean if you if you just off the top of your head exclude guitars and stuff like that, but um something, just off the top of your head, what would you think that I would want for my birthday?
- 25:26SPEAKER_08: Hmm.
- 25:27SPEAKER_08: I think you would want like a day away from everybody.
- 25:32SPEAKER_15: Okay, well, no, no, that's not that's not no.
- 25:35SPEAKER_08: I was thinking you're thinking about it, though.
- 25:37SPEAKER_08: Well I am now hey update of myself.
- 25:42SPEAKER_08: What would I do?
- 25:44SPEAKER_08: No, um I love music.
- 25:47SPEAKER_08: Right.
- 25:47SPEAKER_14: Right?
- 25:48SPEAKER_08: So maybe you get like uh, you know, some awesome box set or uh something special edition.
- 25:55SPEAKER_15: Which which she would never do because she already thinks I have too much of that stuff anyway.
- 25:58SPEAKER_15: True.
- 25:59SPEAKER_15: But but something to do with music.
- 26:01SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 26:02SPEAKER_15: Um whether it's actual music, whether it's you know, something for my guitar or you know oh yeah, like an accessory.
- 26:09SPEAKER_15: Yeah, yeah.
- 26:10SPEAKER_15: Something, you know.
- 26:11SPEAKER_08: Um something you've been talking about, but you never bought for yourself.
- 26:14SPEAKER_08: Right, yeah.
- 26:15SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 26:15SPEAKER_15: Yeah, and that and and that's one of the arguments that my kids give uh is we don't know what to buy you because whatever you want or need, you just buy yourself, which is true.
- 26:25SPEAKER_15: You know.
- 26:25SPEAKER_15: Anyway, so so I opened up the I opened up and you know, God love her.
- 26:31SPEAKER_15: She's very um I can't I still can't think of the word.
- 26:36SPEAKER_15: Maybe you can think of the word once I tell you what she got me.
- 26:39SPEAKER_15: Um so I opened it up and I She's very practical.
- 26:42SPEAKER_15: That's what I'm that's what I'm that's the word.
- 26:44SPEAKER_15: Yeah, that's the word.
- 26:45SPEAKER_15: So uh I open it up and I take it out and legitimately don't know what it is.
- 26:52SPEAKER_15: Oh interesting.
- 26:54SPEAKER_15: It's like I'm black plastic that uh uh folds hard plastic, you know.
- 27:03SPEAKER_15: So I put it down and I take out something else that's black and plastic and I don't know what it is, but so I set it down and I look at her and I'm like and I know that she's thinking you hate it.
- 27:20SPEAKER_15: And I don't hate it, but I just don't know what it I don't know what it is, and it's more confusion at that point.
- 27:25SPEAKER_08: And so I was like, Did you give me some hefty bags?
- 27:28SPEAKER_15: I was like, This is a hint.
- 27:30SPEAKER_15: What is it?
- 27:32SPEAKER_15: And so my center console in my car, okay, you can lift it up, right?
- 27:39SPEAKER_15: Right.
- 27:40SPEAKER_15: Well, one of them goes in the top and opens up so you can keep things in it.
- 27:46SPEAKER_15: Oh and then there's something that goes in my dash that you can put things in that's that protects the actual um car itself, you know, because the car comes with certain things, but if you put this in there, it makes those things last longer.
- 28:03SPEAKER_15: Oh, okay.
- 28:04SPEAKER_15: And so it's just like little little things to put in certain parts of my sound like a like a container container system for your vehicle.
- 28:13SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 28:14SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 28:14SPEAKER_15: Um and it's great.
- 28:16SPEAKER_15: I haven't put it in yet, but it's, you know, very smart.
- 28:20SPEAKER_15: Uh very practical.
- 28:21SPEAKER_15: Very practical.
- 28:22SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 28:22SPEAKER_15: That is my wife in a nutshell.
- 28:24SPEAKER_15: There we go.
- 28:24SPEAKER_15: Yep.
- 28:25SPEAKER_15: So um we have discovered it.
- 28:27SPEAKER_15: Yes.
- 28:28SPEAKER_15: So I'm thinking that uh Secret Santa's the way to go next year.
- 28:33SPEAKER_08: I'm agreeing.
- 28:33SPEAKER_08: This this is, you know, you're gonna be like, yeah, I'm in this.
- 28:37SPEAKER_08: I'm all in.
- 28:40SPEAKER_15: And my wife will listen to this podcast, and I just want you to know I love you, honey.
- 28:44SPEAKER_15: And uh I do like the present that you gave me.
- 28:46SPEAKER_15: I'm very fond of you.
- 28:47SPEAKER_15: Yeah, I do like the present that you gave me.
- 28:49SPEAKER_15: So I'm kind of really just kind of giving you a hard time.
- 28:53SPEAKER_15: Yeah, that's that's what you have to do.
- 28:55SPEAKER_15: That's what you have to do.
- 28:56SPEAKER_15: After 28 years of marriage, you have to.
- 28:58SPEAKER_08: You just gotta be like, yeah.
- 28:59SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 29:00SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 29:00SPEAKER_08: Thank you for my hefty bags.
- 29:02SPEAKER_15: Right, exactly.
- 29:04SPEAKER_15: Uh so let's see.
- 29:06SPEAKER_15: Do we want to do anything rock and roll?
- 29:08SPEAKER_15: Or do you want to just uh keep it all Christmas related?
- 29:14SPEAKER_08: Is there anything okay?
- 29:15SPEAKER_15: Let me uh There's nothing Christmas related in what I found.
- 29:18SPEAKER_08: Well, I know, but is it at least like ooh, okay.
- 29:23SPEAKER_15: There's a bunch of uh what I was gonna what uh I was gonna talk about, and and it may be depressing, I don't know.
- 29:28SPEAKER_15: Um there are so many people, uh rock rockers, that are aging uh announcing tours.
- 29:43SPEAKER_08: Oh right.
- 29:44SPEAKER_15: Um and I was just like, you know, like Triumph is coming back.
- 29:48SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 29:49SPEAKER_15: With Phil with Phil X.
- 29:50SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 29:51SPEAKER_08: Um and as if that guy is not busy enough.
- 29:54SPEAKER_15: Right, exactly.
- 29:55SPEAKER_15: Well, he's not with Bon Jovi.
- 29:56SPEAKER_15: Well, yeah, they sure went.
- 29:57SPEAKER_15: Uh although Bon Jovi is is doing um Isn't he doing the Madison Square Garden or something like that for like like six dates or whatever, if his voice can hold up.
- 30:05SPEAKER_15: Right.
- 30:06SPEAKER_15: Um but just so many that are coming out of, or they're either coming out of or I didn't know that they were still around.
- 30:17SPEAKER_15: Um because let me just give you a brief list here.
- 30:23SPEAKER_15: Uh is that Barry Manilo?
- 30:26SPEAKER_15: That's Rick Springfield.
- 30:28SPEAKER_15: What?
- 30:28SPEAKER_15: Bad plastic surgery.
- 30:30SPEAKER_08: Ah, that's terrible.
- 30:31SPEAKER_15: Yeah, it's awful.
- 30:32SPEAKER_15: So Rick Springfield is announcing tour dates.
- 30:35SPEAKER_15: He's uh 70.
- 30:36SPEAKER_15: He's in his 70s.
- 30:37SPEAKER_15: He's in his 70s.
- 30:38SPEAKER_15: Yeah, easily.
- 30:39SPEAKER_15: Uh Clapton, the Rolling Stones reportedly canceled their 2026 tour plans.
- 30:44SPEAKER_08: Uh I haven't that that to me is not a tragic thing.
- 30:48SPEAKER_15: No, I and I haven't read the story or anything.
- 30:50SPEAKER_15: Leonard Skinner confirms more 2026 tour dates.
- 30:54SPEAKER_15: UB40.
- 30:56SPEAKER_15: Right?
- 30:56SPEAKER_15: I I thought I thought they were gone.
- 30:59SPEAKER_15: Um just announced tour dates.
- 31:01SPEAKER_15: Foreigner and Lou Graham are extending their run.
- 31:04SPEAKER_15: Yes, when I say that, I mean uh foreign.
- 31:08SPEAKER_15: No, no.
- 31:09SPEAKER_15: Foreigner is extending their run, and Lou Graham is doing certain dates with them.
- 31:13SPEAKER_15: Oh, I got you.
- 31:14SPEAKER_15: Which is nice that to hear him, you know, out with them again.
- 31:17SPEAKER_15: Sticks and Cheap Trick are teaming up for a for tour dates.
- 31:20SPEAKER_15: Tesla adds more tour dates.
- 31:23SPEAKER_15: Um, let's see.
- 31:26SPEAKER_15: Pat Benatar and Neil Geraldo, the Beach Boys, all going out on tour.
- 31:32SPEAKER_15: Um there's Sebastian Bach, I read, was going out on tour.
- 31:37SPEAKER_15: By himself?
- 31:38SPEAKER_15: Yep.
- 31:38SPEAKER_15: Okay.
- 31:39SPEAKER_15: By himself.
- 31:40SPEAKER_08: Um I would I wouldn't go to that show.
- 31:43SPEAKER_15: I wouldn't either.
- 31:45SPEAKER_08: I mean, if he was with Skid Row, absolutely.
- 31:48SPEAKER_08: But Sebastian Bach by himself.
- 31:50SPEAKER_15: I don't even know if I do that.
- 31:52SPEAKER_15: Kansas is out on tour.
- 31:55SPEAKER_15: Uh Iron Maiden, it's extending their tour.
- 31:58SPEAKER_15: Uh let's see.
- 32:03SPEAKER_15: Uh Eagles, Stevie Nixon, Rod Stewart, and more to play Jazz Fest.
- 32:07SPEAKER_15: Well, we already mentioned Triumph.
- 32:09SPEAKER_15: Is that Paul Simon?
- 32:10SPEAKER_15: Paul Simon returns with extended quiet celebration tour.
- 32:14SPEAKER_15: Well, he's like 80.
- 32:15SPEAKER_15: Uh, Jefferson Starship hits the road.
- 32:18SPEAKER_15: Uh let's see, Marshall Tucker Band launches While I'm Young tour in 2026.
- 32:25SPEAKER_08: That ship has sailed.
- 32:27SPEAKER_15: Elvis Costello announces first 2026 headlining dates.
- 32:31SPEAKER_15: Uh Extended Fragile Tour sets up a huge 2026 slate for Yes.
- 32:36SPEAKER_15: The band Yes.
- 32:37SPEAKER_15: Here's what I was thinking is what else are they gonna do?
- 32:43SPEAKER_15: Number one, you have to think about, and people don't think about this.
- 32:47unknown: Okay.
- 32:48SPEAKER_15: They think these these rock stars are rich.
- 32:51SPEAKER_15: And for some, you know, so for some of them they really are.
- 32:54SPEAKER_15: Paul Simon, I don't think has to worry about anything.
- 32:56SPEAKER_15: I don't think so either.
- 32:57SPEAKER_15: Um, but like somebody like somebody like, well, Sebastian Bach.
- 33:04SPEAKER_15: Okay.
- 33:05SPEAKER_15: To put together a tour costs a lot of money.
- 33:09SPEAKER_15: Right.
- 33:10SPEAKER_15: To stay on the road, it costs a lot of money.
- 33:13SPEAKER_15: Right.
- 33:14SPEAKER_15: Um and uh forgive me, but Sebastian Bach is not pulling in a lot of money on tour anymore.
- 33:23SPEAKER_15: No.
- 33:23SPEAKER_15: I mean, people go see him.
- 33:24SPEAKER_15: I'm not saying they don't go see him, but uh he's not playing sold-out arenas.
- 33:29SPEAKER_08: No, I mean it's not like uh the youth gone wild.
- 33:32SPEAKER_15: Exactly.
- 33:32SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 33:33SPEAKER_15: So while he makes money, the overhead that that his organization would have to pay to stay on tour is up there.
- 33:43SPEAKER_08: So he Well, I don't think he sees anything.
- 33:46SPEAKER_08: He probably if he beg if he breaks even on a tour, right?
- 33:49SPEAKER_08: I think he's doing pretty well.
- 33:50SPEAKER_15: This is what I'm saying.
- 33:51SPEAKER_15: So these aging rock stars that you're seeing going on on tour, Leonard Skinner and all these guys, they're not making money from radio anymore.
- 34:00SPEAKER_15: No.
- 34:01SPEAKER_15: Or very little.
- 34:02SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 34:02SPEAKER_15: They're not making anything from Spotify.
- 34:04SPEAKER_15: Nope.
- 34:05SPEAKER_15: They're not making anything from CD sales or record sales unless they they're making money on merchandise at their shows and ticket sales at their shows.
- 34:17SPEAKER_15: That's all they're making money.
- 34:19SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 34:19SPEAKER_15: And so this, in my opinion, and I'm thinking I'm thinking you agree, this is why all these aging rock stars are coming out of the woodwork and going back out on tour.
- 34:28SPEAKER_15: Well, they have to.
- 34:29SPEAKER_15: Right.
- 34:30SPEAKER_15: There's no money.
- 34:30SPEAKER_08: Right.
- 34:31SPEAKER_08: That's what I'm saying.
- 34:32SPEAKER_08: Well, I mean, I mean, not everybody's a Sammy Hagar and is you know an astute businessman.
- 34:38SPEAKER_15: Independently wealthy, right?
- 34:39SPEAKER_15: Absolutely.
- 34:40SPEAKER_08: You know, I mean, he was smart.
- 34:41SPEAKER_08: He I mean, he he made money playing music and then he invested it.
- 34:45SPEAKER_15: And a lot of other things.
- 34:47SPEAKER_08: A lot of other things that weren't music related.
- 34:49SPEAKER_08: Right.
- 34:49SPEAKER_08: A lot of these guys were like, oh yeah, party forever, I'm gonna be rushing, blah, blah, blah.
- 34:55SPEAKER_08: And you know, and then 20 years later, you know, Napster comes out and then you're screwed.
- 35:00SPEAKER_15: Right.
- 35:01SPEAKER_08: You know what I mean?
- 35:02SPEAKER_08: Because there's no money anymore.
- 35:04SPEAKER_15: You know who is really good, uh like just a genius at this?
- 35:08SPEAKER_15: Me.
- 35:09SPEAKER_15: Yes, besides you.
- 35:13SPEAKER_15: It is Joe Bonnamasa.
- 35:15SPEAKER_08: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 35:16SPEAKER_15: And here's why.
- 35:18SPEAKER_15: Joe Bonamasa still puts out records, um, and still they probably still sell pretty well.
- 35:24SPEAKER_15: Not I'm sure not.
- 35:25SPEAKER_08: Oh, they're not, you know, amazingly, but yeah, I'm sure you sell songs.
- 35:29SPEAKER_15: But what he he's do he does it as a it's a it's a marketing tool.
- 35:34SPEAKER_15: Right.
- 35:34SPEAKER_15: Like he he ri writes the songs and records the songs and puts the album out so that he can market himself.
- 35:42SPEAKER_15: And if you get on his mailing list, I'm on his mailing list.
- 35:45SPEAKER_15: This is he he he takes merchandise like KISS.
- 35:48SPEAKER_15: You know, Kiss used to be really good at this.
- 35:50SPEAKER_15: Oh, yeah.
- 35:51SPEAKER_15: Uh, and they still are to a certain extent.
- 35:53SPEAKER_15: But if you get his he and he he has mailings at least two or three times a day.
- 35:58SPEAKER_15: And let's see.

- 36:07SPEAKER_15: And then free album, Lonely Christmas Eve.
- 36:11SPEAKER_15: You can download a free album.
- 36:13SPEAKER_15: A whole album?

- 36:14SPEAKER_15: And I have it already.
- 36:16SPEAKER_15: Um, Joe Bonamasa gift card.

- 37:34SPEAKER_15: This is how he's making this is how he's supporting his career.
- 37:37SPEAKER_15: Right.

- 37:46SPEAKER_15: Right.
- 37:48SPEAKER_15: I mean, it's it's it's crazy, but this is the way they have to make money because they're not doing it from record sales anymore.
- 37:55SPEAKER_15: No.
- 37:55SPEAKER_15: Those days are long.
- 37:56SPEAKER_15: And what what radio station is playing Joe Bottomasa?
- 37:59SPEAKER_15: Zero.
- 38:00SPEAKER_15: Right.
- 38:00SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 38:00SPEAKER_15: You know, it's all streaming.
- 38:02SPEAKER_15: Yep.
- 38:02SPEAKER_15: So I just thought I I I saw all those stories and I was like, well, of course, that's why they're going out.
- 38:07SPEAKER_08: You know, oh yeah, it obviously makes sense.
- 38:09SPEAKER_08: I mean, they're broke.
- 38:10SPEAKER_08: They got it, they got you know, they gotta put food on the table.
- 38:12SPEAKER_15: Exactly.
- 38:13SPEAKER_08: And and coke up their nose.
- 38:15SPEAKER_08: I mean, come on.
- 38:15SPEAKER_08: To a certain extent.
- 38:17SPEAKER_08: I'm not lying.
- 38:18SPEAKER_08: Nope, you're right.
- 38:19SPEAKER_08: You're right.
- 38:19SPEAKER_08: You know, edibles aren't cheap.
- 38:21SPEAKER_08: You know.
- 38:26SPEAKER_08: Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 38:28SPEAKER_08: Well, you know, I had to update it because, you know, I know it's a lot easier now.
- 38:36SPEAKER_08: Um all you gotta do is eat this and you'll get high.
- 38:40SPEAKER_15: Woo-hoo! Okay.
- 38:43SPEAKER_15: So uh on that same day.
- 38:45SPEAKER_15: What did I miss about Christmas?
- 38:46SPEAKER_15: What do you miss about Christmas?
- 38:48SPEAKER_08: I I the best part of Christmas was Christmas Eve.
- 38:53SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 38:54SPEAKER_08: Because I don't know how it was at your house, but we got to open one present.
- 38:58SPEAKER_15: We did that every once in a while, yeah.
- 38:59SPEAKER_08: Yeah, we got to open one present on Christmas Eve.
- 39:01SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 39:02SPEAKER_08: And, you know, and then we would go around to like my grandmother's to see my grandmothers and some aunts and uncles and stuff that we did like a it was like a Christmas Eve tour.
- 39:14SPEAKER_15: And they'd have more presents for you.
- 39:15SPEAKER_08: No.
- 39:15SPEAKER_08: No.
- 39:16SPEAKER_08: Not usually, no, but we they'd have food.
- 39:18SPEAKER_08: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 39:19SPEAKER_08: Which was the best part.
- 39:20SPEAKER_08: Yeah, yeah.
- 39:20SPEAKER_08: You know, and we just we'd just travel on and by the time we got back, we were tired, and it was time for Santa to come.
- 39:26SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 39:26SPEAKER_08: Which was the best.
- 39:27SPEAKER_08: So you go to bed and you wake up, it's Christmas.
- 39:30SPEAKER_08: So Christmas Eve is actually better than Christmas.
- 39:33SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 39:33SPEAKER_08: In my opinion.
- 39:34SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 39:34SPEAKER_15: Uh except when you're a parent.
- 39:36SPEAKER_08: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 39:37SPEAKER_08: I mean, that part sucks.
- 39:38SPEAKER_15: Because you know, um well, what am I saying?
- 39:42SPEAKER_15: You know, Santa Claus does all the work.
- 39:44SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 39:44SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 39:45SPEAKER_08: Well, in our house it was always dad.
- 39:48SPEAKER_08: Santa.
- 39:49SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 39:50SPEAKER_08: After everybody went to bed, he would get beer and then he would wrap presents.
- 39:54SPEAKER_08: Because he never shopped until Christmas Eve.
- 39:56SPEAKER_08: Really?
- 39:57SPEAKER_08: Oh yeah, dad's dad was famous for that.
- 39:59SPEAKER_08: I I don't know if he still does it so much that anymore.
- 40:01SPEAKER_08: I think he just lets mom do all the shopping now for him.
- 40:04SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 40:05SPEAKER_08: But he used to just it was Christmas Eve or the, you know, like Christmas Eve Eve.
- 40:09SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 40:10SPEAKER_08: That's when he would do his shopping.
- 40:12SPEAKER_08: Because you'd see like, you know, you know, there were presents and stuff.
- 40:16SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 40:16SPEAKER_08: But you could see the stuff that dad got because it would be wrapped in like an envelope, like like you were mailing a letter.
- 40:23SPEAKER_08: Right.
- 40:24SPEAKER_08: And it's like, here, here's some money.
- 40:27SPEAKER_08: There you go.
- 40:27SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 40:28SPEAKER_08: Alright, cool.
- 40:29SPEAKER_08: You know, you know, it's just the way you do it.
- 40:31SPEAKER_15: Teresa's dad was is was like that.
- 40:32SPEAKER_15: So we we do our we do our our Christmas and then we go down to Nana's and we do a Christmas there, and then we have Christmas dinner, and then late in the afternoon we go to my mother's and have Christmas dinner, and she has presents and stuff.
- 40:46SPEAKER_15: Um, but so we'll go down to Nana's and Grampy will be in his chair, and we'll the kids will open a present that says, you know, to uh Myra from Nana and Grampy.
- 40:58SPEAKER_15: And she'll open it.
- 40:59SPEAKER_15: Oh, and it's just this puzzle or whatever.
- 41:00SPEAKER_15: And it's a really good, and she'll turn to Grampy and just say, Thank you, Grampy.
- 41:03SPEAKER_15: He's like, for what?
- 41:05SPEAKER_15: Of course.
- 41:06SPEAKER_13: For my what is it?
- 41:07SPEAKER_13: Oh, oh yeah.
- 41:09SPEAKER_08: You're welcome.
- 41:12SPEAKER_08: Pizza Man.
- 41:13SPEAKER_08: I can't I can't wait to be that guy.
- 41:15SPEAKER_08: I know.
- 41:16SPEAKER_08: I'm like jelly.
- 41:17SPEAKER_08: I'm just what is it?
- 41:18SPEAKER_13: Thanks, bam bam.
- 41:20SPEAKER_13: What is it?
- 41:22SPEAKER_13: Right.
- 41:25SPEAKER_15: Your mom did a good job.
- 41:27SPEAKER_15: Nana did a good job.
- 41:28SPEAKER_15: Nana, yeah, good.
- 41:29SPEAKER_15: Um yeah, so that's that's kind of the way our our Christmas goes.
- 41:33SPEAKER_15: Well this this year I don't know how it's gonna go, because um, you know, we're gonna have presents from all over the place for baby Peter.
- 41:40SPEAKER_08: And he got a little baby.
- 41:41SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 41:42SPEAKER_07: Baby, baby Peter.
- 41:44SPEAKER_07: Baby Peter, baby beetle.
- 41:46SPEAKER_13: Can you do O'Brien and Doug in that voice?
- 41:48SPEAKER_07: O'Brien and Doug.
- 41:51SPEAKER_07: You're listening to O'Brien and Doug.
- 41:54SPEAKER_07: I'm baby Peter.
- 41:57SPEAKER_07: Listen to my bam bam.
- 42:02SPEAKER_15: So I wanted to um I wanted to start a new feature.
- 42:06SPEAKER_08: Oh, okay.
- 42:07SPEAKER_15: And I don't know if we can, if you're able to do this.
- 42:10SPEAKER_15: Do you use any streaming platforms at all?
- 42:12SPEAKER_15: What do you mean?
- 42:13SPEAKER_15: Like um Pandora or Spotify.
- 42:16SPEAKER_15: What do you listen to your music?
- 42:18SPEAKER_15: You still use CDs?
- 42:19SPEAKER_08: No, I I I have YouTube music.
- 42:21SPEAKER_15: You have YouTube music.
- 42:22SPEAKER_15: Okay.
- 42:23SPEAKER_15: So does it is it a continuous thing?
- 42:26SPEAKER_15: Like, like if you because here's what I wanted to do.
- 42:31SPEAKER_15: I wanted to whatever streaming platform you choose, I wanna I wanted to find out.
- 42:38SPEAKER_15: Well, let me let me I have a little intro for it.
- 42:41SPEAKER_08: All right.
- 42:41SPEAKER_15: Okay.
- 42:41SPEAKER_08: Did you make an intro for it?
- 42:43SPEAKER_08: No, I didn't.
- 42:43SPEAKER_08: Oh, okay.
- 42:44SPEAKER_15: I just want to start this this little piece of this song here.
- 42:53SPEAKER_04: What are you listening to?
- 42:57SPEAKER_04: Is it a cup?
- 42:58SPEAKER_15: So Stapleton song.
- 43:00SPEAKER_15: What are you listening to?
- 43:01SPEAKER_15: So this week, what is Doug listening to?
- 43:05SPEAKER_15: And what I was gonna do is I'm gonna plug my phone in.
- 43:09SPEAKER_15: You don't have to plug your phone in, but I'm gonna plug my phone in.
- 43:13SPEAKER_15: And I'm just going to go to Spotify, the free version.
- 43:21SPEAKER_15: Uh actually I'll do both.
- 43:22SPEAKER_15: I'll go to Spotify and Pandora.
- 43:24SPEAKER_15: Okay.
- 43:24SPEAKER_15: And I'll just play a little bit of what is playing.
- 43:28SPEAKER_15: Okay.
- 43:29SPEAKER_15: Uh, and we can talk about it.
- 43:31SPEAKER_15: So I'm gonna do I'll do Pandora first, because I do use that uh quite a bit.
- 43:36SPEAKER_15: So let me.
- 43:39SPEAKER_05: That's just got me.
- 43:42SPEAKER_15: Okay, Chris Stapled, and you're gonna quiet down for a second.
- 43:44SPEAKER_15: Shh.
- 43:45SPEAKER_15: And let's let's go to Pandora.
- 43:47SPEAKER_15: Sleep now.
- 43:48SPEAKER_15: And continue to Pandora.
- 43:49SPEAKER_15: And if I hear uh commercial, I'll try and I'll try and stop it.
- 43:56SPEAKER_15: Um is it this one?
- 43:59SPEAKER_15: Oh Alright.
- 44:06SPEAKER_15: So obviously it's Bonnie Raite.
- 44:08SPEAKER_15: Right.
- 44:08SPEAKER_15: And this is I'm listening to a Marc Cohn radio station.
- 44:13SPEAKER_15: Cool.
- 44:13SPEAKER_15: So this is Pandora kind of does that where it plays music that's similar to the artist.
- 44:19SPEAKER_15: So that's what that's what came up first on Pandora is Bonnie Rait's something to talk about.
- 44:26SPEAKER_15: That sounds like me.
- 44:28SPEAKER_15: Okay, so uh now I'm gonna go to Spotify.
- 44:31SPEAKER_15: And I again I have the free version of Spotify.
- 44:33SPEAKER_15: And I listen to a lot of playlists on Spotify.
- 44:36SPEAKER_15: So let me just go to the next song on my Spotify.
- 44:41SPEAKER_15: Oh, look at that.
- 44:48SPEAKER_15: Now I'm gonna change it only because I just added this the other day.
- 44:54SPEAKER_15: And I'm not a frequent listener to Triumph.
- 44:58SPEAKER_15: But I'm but I wanted to be, so I this is Mind Games from Triumph.
- 45:02SPEAKER_15: So this isn't I wouldn't normally uh but I'm gonna go to the next one, Steve.
- 45:06SPEAKER_15: Alright, here we go.
- 45:07SPEAKER_15: Alright.
- 45:08SPEAKER_15: This is bad English.
- 45:09SPEAKER_15: Oh yeah.
- 45:11SPEAKER_15: And this is a playlist that I made, actually.
- 45:13SPEAKER_15: It's called uh hard rock.
- 45:15SPEAKER_15: Bad English isn't really hard rock, but hardy-ish.
- 45:19SPEAKER_15: Hardyish.
- 45:20SPEAKER_08: For you know, for babies.
- 45:22SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 45:23SPEAKER_15: Okay, so uh on one streaming platform I'm listening to uh bluesy uh music like Bonnie Rates, and on the other, I'm listening to um straight up rock.
- 45:34SPEAKER_08: Alright.
- 45:34SPEAKER_15: So what uh what are you listening to?
- 45:36SPEAKER_15: Do you want to do this or no?
- 45:37SPEAKER_08: Uh well I don't even know.
- 45:39SPEAKER_08: I haven't I was listening to a podcast.
- 45:42SPEAKER_15: Oh.
- 45:43SPEAKER_15: Um but if you had to stream a song, you go to YouTube.
- 45:46SPEAKER_08: Yeah, I have well I have uh see it gives me like choices like of stuff I have listened to.
- 45:57SPEAKER_14: Right.
- 45:58SPEAKER_08: So like like I could hit this and it's Chad Baker.
- 46:04SPEAKER_08: Oh wow.
- 46:06SPEAKER_15: So like if you got in your car and you just hit play on YouTube, YouTube TV or whatever.
- 46:12SPEAKER_08: Well, it doesn't work that way because it's like whoever you you have to subscribe to artists.
- 46:18SPEAKER_08: Chad Baker's just one of them.
- 46:19SPEAKER_16: Like if I hit this Hi, we're Hootie the Bullfish.
- 46:24SPEAKER_16: Did you ever have this problem?
- 46:26SPEAKER_16: You want to cross the street.
- 46:27SPEAKER_16: This is Hodie the Bullfish on Sesame Street.
- 46:33SPEAKER_11: Well, we've got a song to tell you what to do about it.
- 46:35SPEAKER_16: We know what?
- 46:36SPEAKER_16: Oh, then you're all the corner.
- 46:42SPEAKER_16: And you want to cross the street.
- 46:48SPEAKER_16: Before you move your feet, you need a little head.
- 46:52SPEAKER_15: That's funny.
- 46:53SPEAKER_15: Isn't that hilarious?
- 46:54SPEAKER_15: It is.
- 46:56SPEAKER_15: Now, but is this something that you would listen to in your car?
- 46:59SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 46:59SPEAKER_15: You would listen to just this little thing, little snippet.
- 47:02SPEAKER_08: Yeah, I would just No, I would listen to the, you know.
- 47:04SPEAKER_15: The channel.
- 47:05SPEAKER_08: You just listen to the channel.
- 47:06SPEAKER_08: Like uh if I go to my library here, uh I could listen to course, you know.
- 47:15SPEAKER_15: Oh yeah.
- 47:17SPEAKER_08: And it'll just it'll just play that artist over and over again.
- 47:20SPEAKER_08: Just different songs from that artist.
- 47:22SPEAKER_15: Not not the same album, just mix it up.
- 47:24SPEAKER_15: Just mix it up.
- 47:24SPEAKER_15: Okay, so it's a mix.
- 47:25SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 47:26SPEAKER_15: Okay.
- 47:26SPEAKER_15: So uh and do you pay for that?
- 47:31SPEAKER_08: Yeah, it's like ten bucks a month.
- 47:32SPEAKER_08: Which I mean, but there's no commercials.
- 47:35SPEAKER_08: Which is nice.
- 47:36SPEAKER_08: Yeah, yeah.
- 47:37SPEAKER_08: So I mean I don't have to worry, you know.
- 47:39SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 47:39SPEAKER_08: I don't have to worry about it.
- 47:40SPEAKER_08: And I can just you know, usually with YouTube you have to have it on for it to play.
- 47:45SPEAKER_14: Right.
- 47:45SPEAKER_08: I can I can my phone can go off and it'll just continue to play.
- 47:49SPEAKER_08: So you know, it runs out of music.
- 47:52SPEAKER_15: Um have you heard from uh negative negative, which is weird.
- 47:59SPEAKER_15: It is weird.
- 48:01SPEAKER_08: She must be busy.
- 48:02SPEAKER_15: So what do you want to do?
- 48:04SPEAKER_08: We're gonna do our thing.
- 48:05SPEAKER_08: We're we forget stuff anyway.
- 48:07SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 48:08SPEAKER_08: So we'll we'll just forget that you know, we had we had a question and we'll just go under this week's question.
- 48:13SPEAKER_15: Okay.
- 48:13SPEAKER_08: Unless she gets back to me sometime.
- 48:16SPEAKER_08: Because I was gonna do it Because I I have one here from Wa from Wednesday.

- 48:48SPEAKER_08: Well there's a there's a there's a voice thing from Wednesday, but I don't know if it's she wouldn't have known because it came out on Thursday.
- 48:56SPEAKER_15: But I think or did you send it to her?
- 48:59SPEAKER_08: No, I didn't send anything to her.
- 49:00SPEAKER_08: Uh because you know I like her to be surprised as everybody else is.
- 49:04SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 49:04SPEAKER_08: Um let me let me just play it.
- 49:06SPEAKER_08: Let's see what it says, okay?
- 49:08SPEAKER_08: Um I almost okay.
- 49:12SPEAKER_08: Maybe maybe we've already heard it.
- 49:14SPEAKER_08: Let me just uh Yeah, if it was Wednesday, let me uh play it here.
- 49:18SPEAKER_09: Hey guys, another awesome week of mixtape, another great week of picks.

- 49:29SPEAKER_09: She is impatient.
- 49:30SPEAKER_09: Oh no, this is new.
- 49:31SPEAKER_15: This is new.

- 50:07SPEAKER_15: Yeah, let's listen to it.
- 50:07SPEAKER_15: So this will be the past.
- 50:09SPEAKER_15: We think.
- 50:11SPEAKER_15: Well, it's it's something from the past.
- 50:13SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 50:14SPEAKER_15: Start it from the beginning.
- 50:15SPEAKER_15: Start it over.
- 50:16SPEAKER_15: Okay.
- 50:16SPEAKER_15: Uh okay, here we go.
- 50:22SPEAKER_09: Hey guys, another awesome week of mixtape, another great week of picks.
- 50:27SPEAKER_09: Um, I really enjoyed the question this week.
- 50:30SPEAKER_09: Uh I apologize for my neurotic dog.
- 50:33SPEAKER_09: She is impatiently, patiently waiting for her bacon.
- 50:37SPEAKER_09: Um but I really enjoyed um the word play from O'Brien's pick, Don't Bring Me Down.
- 50:44SPEAKER_09: Um What?
- 50:47SPEAKER_15: Don't bring me down.
- 50:50SPEAKER_15: That was uh that was two weeks ago.
- 50:52SPEAKER_08: Why did it stop?
- 50:53SPEAKER_08: That's my question.
- 50:54SPEAKER_09: Oh Hey guys, another awesome week of McCoy.
- 50:56SPEAKER_08: Yeah, she said it stopped for some reason.
- 50:58SPEAKER_15: Oh, but yeah, but she she picked uh she didn't pick Don't Bring Me Down.
- 51:02SPEAKER_08: Yeah, I can't remember what she picked me down.
- 51:05SPEAKER_15: Anyway, but that was yeah, that was two weeks ago.
- 51:06SPEAKER_15: So she we haven't heard from her this week.
- 51:13SPEAKER_08: Yeah, just what was the question?
- 51:17SPEAKER_15: Uh for the for the for last week.
- 51:19SPEAKER_08: She should have been answer what was the question she should be answering.
- 51:22SPEAKER_15: Uh I mine was my pick was uh we didn't start the fire.
- 51:25SPEAKER_15: It was the it was um the uh Did I keep it?
- 51:30SPEAKER_08: You know um it was the cryo frozen one.
- 51:34SPEAKER_15: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 51:35SPEAKER_15: That one.
- 51:36SPEAKER_08: Okay.
- 51:36SPEAKER_15: Yeah, he picked uh uh cousin Larry picked Welcome to the Jungle.
- 51:40SPEAKER_15: Uh I picked Billy Joel, we didn't start the fire, and you picked uh what did you pick?
- 51:46SPEAKER_08: Uh uh In My Life.
- 51:47SPEAKER_15: Yes, In My Life and the Beatles.
- 51:49SPEAKER_15: Yeah, so uh we don't have the answer to that one.
- 51:52SPEAKER_15: Is that what you're telling me?
- 51:54SPEAKER_08: She just got she just got Did she just get back to you?
- 51:57SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 51:57SPEAKER_15: Oh okay.
- 51:59SPEAKER_08: Yeah, this is this is We'll do this in real time.
- 52:01SPEAKER_08: Yeah, we're just we don't know what's going on.
- 52:04SPEAKER_08: Hey, you know what I like about Christmas food?
- 52:10SPEAKER_15: Wait.
- 52:11SPEAKER_15: I s I I hooked this up, but I never uh actually played it.
- 52:15SPEAKER_15: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 52:17SPEAKER_15: John of it.
- 52:18SPEAKER_15: Let's see.
- 52:19SPEAKER_15: Uh like a Manheim steamroller or something.
- 52:23SPEAKER_08: Yeah, there we go.
- 52:25SPEAKER_15: Let's see.
- 52:26SPEAKER_13: Um, nice.
- 53:20SPEAKER_08: No false for hashing out what has been answered as well.
- 53:45SPEAKER_05: That was like that was a drunk man's version of me not bear.
- 54:15SPEAKER_08: I'm communicating with the judge.
- 54:19SPEAKER_13: You might just have to call her.
- 54:21SPEAKER_13: I don't know.
- 54:22SPEAKER_13: Put her live on with us.
- 54:34SPEAKER_15: So we're gonna move on.
- 54:36SPEAKER_08: Well, we can we could uh talk about something else until we get until we get this all straightened out.
- 54:44SPEAKER_13: Or we could do uh we could do the present.
- 54:50SPEAKER_13: Oh yeah, yeah, we can do the present.
- 54:52SPEAKER_13: Yeah, we can do that.
- 54:54SPEAKER_15: So let's do the present, which is this week's question, right?
- 54:57SPEAKER_15: Correct.
- 54:58SPEAKER_15: And then we could, if we have to, we can pick next week's question.
- 55:00SPEAKER_15: Right.
- 55:01SPEAKER_15: And then hopefully by that time we'll have the winner of the past question.
- 55:04SPEAKER_15: Right.
- 55:04SPEAKER_15: You want to try that?
- 55:05SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 55:06SPEAKER_15: Okay.
- 55:12SPEAKER_15: Okay.
- 55:14SPEAKER_15: So uh what was this week's question?
- 55:17SPEAKER_15: Drunk caroling.
- 55:19SPEAKER_15: No, no.
- 55:19SPEAKER_15: No, it was speaking of that, it was it was Christmas uh.
- 55:23SPEAKER_15: So, uh well.
- 55:23SPEAKER_15: It's right there, it should be right at the top there.
- 55:25SPEAKER_15: Let's see.
- 55:27SPEAKER_15: Um a nice warm fire, the smell of eggnog, and delicious turkey wafting through the house.
- 55:34SPEAKER_15: A gentle snowfall quiets the neighborhood.
- 55:38SPEAKER_15: Best holiday song.
- 55:40SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 55:41SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 55:41SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 55:42SPEAKER_15: All right.
- 55:42SPEAKER_15: What did Cousin Larry?
- 55:44SPEAKER_08: Cousin Larry Okay, okay, okay.
- 56:14SPEAKER_08: Okay.
- 56:15SPEAKER_08: Mixtape.
- 56:16SPEAKER_08: Well, my favorite Christmas song is Old Holy Night.
- 56:19SPEAKER_08: Mine too.
- 56:20SPEAKER_08: A number of artists have done a great job with it.
- 56:22SPEAKER_08: I feel like that is the perfect Christmas song.
- 56:24SPEAKER_08: But I have another one in mind for mixtape.
- 56:27SPEAKER_15: I am the same exact.
- 56:29SPEAKER_08: There are several others like Christmas time by Brian Adams, The Beach Boys, L Little Saint Nick, Christmas All Over by Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, and so many uh others that I love, but don't seem to be right for the scenario described.
- 56:42SPEAKER_08: Also, there are many traditional songs like White Christmas and The Christmas Song that would be that would seem to be perfect.
- 56:48SPEAKER_08: But I think I will I have to go with a song near and dear to my heart and go with Christmas Vacation by Mary Mavis Staples.
- 56:55SPEAKER_08: Let's deck the halls and light the lights, get a toasty fire burning bright, and hip hip hooray for Christmas vacation.
- 57:03SPEAKER_08: Honorable mention to the Christmas song by Vince Giraldi.
- 57:06SPEAKER_08: Describe as how for as I love the peanuts and a Charlie Brown Christmas.
- 57:10SPEAKER_15: All right.
- 57:11SPEAKER_15: So this is from National Lampoons for Christmas vacation.
- 57:53SPEAKER_15: Have you heard the spontaneous?
- 57:58SPEAKER_08: It's really old.
- 57:59SPEAKER_15: Is it really?
- 58:00SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 58:00SPEAKER_15: Yeah, I would never have remembered that.
- 58:02SPEAKER_15: I haven't seen that movie in so long.
- 58:03SPEAKER_15: Really?
- 58:04SPEAKER_15: We watch it every year.
- 58:05SPEAKER_15: Well, see, my kids can't watch it.
- 58:06SPEAKER_15: Oh yeah.
- 58:07SPEAKER_15: Well, they probably could now, obviously.
- 58:09SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 58:15SPEAKER_15: Yeah, my boys could watch it.
- 58:17SPEAKER_15: I might not show it to my daughter, even though she wants to see it.
- 58:22SPEAKER_15: She probably could.
- 58:23SPEAKER_08: She probably couldn't.
- 58:23SPEAKER_08: She probably could.
- 58:25SPEAKER_08: The only really objectional part is the uh when he's in the mall talking to the lingerie girl.
- 58:33SPEAKER_08: So right.
- 58:35SPEAKER_08: That's my name.
- 58:40SPEAKER_15: What is what is your best Christmas song ever?
- 58:43SPEAKER_08: Oh, it's well, he mentioned it.
- 58:44SPEAKER_08: Okay.
- 58:45SPEAKER_08: It's the Christmas song, Nat King Cole.
- 58:47SPEAKER_08: Oh, let's see.
- 58:48SPEAKER_08: For that scenario, that's like the perfect song.
- 58:50SPEAKER_08: You know what I'm saying?
- 58:51SPEAKER_08: You know what I'm saying?
- 58:52SPEAKER_15: It's funny that you say that because um.
- 58:56SPEAKER_15: Well, let me do it.
- 58:57SPEAKER_08: Yeah, me.
- 58:58SPEAKER_08: How can you not just be like right?
- 59:03SPEAKER_15: Uh it's I'll t it's funny and I'll tell you why here in a second.
- 59:09SPEAKER_00: Chestnuts roasting on an open file.
- 59:16SPEAKER_00: Jack Frost nipping at your nose.
- 59:24SPEAKER_15: I wish they made music like this now.
- 59:26SPEAKER_00: Being sung by choir.
- 59:28SPEAKER_00: They don't, I know, and folks they'd make a i do it.
- 59:35SPEAKER_00: Everybody knows a turkey and some mistletoe help to make the season bright.
- 59:51SPEAKER_00: Tiny tots with the eyes all aglow will find it hard to sleep tonight.
- 1:00:02SPEAKER_15: Okay, so uh what's funny about this is um when cousin Larry said that Oh Holy Night is his favorite Christmas song, it is also my favorite Christmas song.
- 1:00:12SPEAKER_12: Right.
- 1:00:13SPEAKER_15: But I completely agree with what he said.
- 1:00:15SPEAKER_15: It doesn't seem right for this question.
- 1:00:16SPEAKER_15: Right.
- 1:00:17SPEAKER_15: What does seem right for this question is the Christmas song or White Christmas.
- 1:00:23SPEAKER_15: I picked the Christmas song, Nat King Cole.
- 1:00:26SPEAKER_06: Ah.
- 1:00:27SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 1:00:27SPEAKER_15: So for my choice, I'm gonna go with White Christmas.
- 1:00:30SPEAKER_15: Okay.
- 1:00:31SPEAKER_15: Okay.
- 1:00:32SPEAKER_15: So uh I while I agree with you, uh I I uh I just want to kind of mix it up a little bit.
- 1:00:38SPEAKER_15: So you're right.
- 1:00:52SPEAKER_15: I mean, this is this and the Christmas song fit that scenario.
- 1:01:07SPEAKER_15: 1947.
- 1:01:14SPEAKER_08: Crosby singing this song to his kids.
- 1:01:17SPEAKER_08: Beating him with the backboard.
- 1:01:23SPEAKER_08: Screaming of a Christmas.
- 1:01:29SPEAKER_05: I knew you were gonna do that.
- 1:01:32SPEAKER_08: I'm sorry, but it's just I hate to think that way.
- 1:01:37SPEAKER_15: But you automatically go there.
- 1:01:39SPEAKER_08: You automatically go there now.
- 1:01:40SPEAKER_08: Once you know, you're just like, wow, it just ruins it for you now.
- 1:01:44SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 1:01:44SPEAKER_08: So you know what song I always like to play at Christmas?
- 1:01:48SPEAKER_08: What's that?
- 1:01:49SPEAKER_08: It's it's Blue Christmas, but it's done by that guy that does it in the porky pig version, in the porky pig voice.
- 1:01:56SPEAKER_08: Freaking love that.
- 1:01:58SPEAKER_08: I just die laughing every year, man.
- 1:02:01SPEAKER_08: Because it's so flippin' funny.
- 1:02:03SPEAKER_15: Let's do it.
- 1:02:04SPEAKER_15: Let's do it just because we can.
- 1:02:20SPEAKER_01: Oh, you if you feel so ebby, ebb be a blue, it'll be just thinking abby, abby, uh about you.
- 1:02:30SPEAKER_01: It'll be you decorations of green, and we Christmas tree.
- 1:02:44SPEAKER_01: If we are not here with emmy em me and we windows, it will be a blue.
- 1:02:51SPEAKER_15: Is this the original recording?
- 1:02:52SPEAKER_15: I think so.
- 1:02:53SPEAKER_01: I don't know who's in the back of the laugh.
- 1:02:55SPEAKER_15: Is there laughing in the other back or yeah?
- 1:03:07SPEAKER_01: You be a blue right with your quick muscle.
- 1:03:26SPEAKER_15: Alright.
- 1:03:28SPEAKER_08: I can listen to that song a hundred times and it's I'll still laugh at it.
- 1:03:31SPEAKER_15: Alright, so let's let's recap.
- 1:03:33SPEAKER_15: So um my choice uh by default was White Christmas from Bing Crosby.
- 1:03:38SPEAKER_15: Yours was the Christmas song from Nat King Cole.
- 1:03:41SPEAKER_15: As was yours.
- 1:03:42SPEAKER_15: As was mine.
- 1:03:43SPEAKER_15: And uh Cousin Larry was Christmas uh what was Christmas Vacation.
- 1:03:48SPEAKER_15: Christmas Vacation, yeah.
- 1:03:49SPEAKER_15: Yeah Is that the name of the song?
- 1:03:51SPEAKER_15: I think it was, yeah.
- 1:03:51SPEAKER_15: Christmas Vacation.
- 1:03:53SPEAKER_15: From Mavis Staples.
- 1:03:54SPEAKER_15: From the Christmas Vacation.
- 1:03:56SPEAKER_15: Yeah, from the actual movie Christmas Vacation.
- 1:03:58SPEAKER_15: So those are the choices.
- 1:04:00SPEAKER_15: Um do you want to pick a future?
- 1:04:04SPEAKER_15: Have you heard from uh Miss Justice?
- 1:04:06SPEAKER_08: She's she's in a place where she can't record right now.
- 1:04:08SPEAKER_08: So I don't know.
- 1:04:09SPEAKER_08: Maybe, maybe uh we'll we'll edit it in.
- 1:04:16SPEAKER_15: What do you mean?
- 1:04:18SPEAKER_15: This is all live, Doug.
- 1:04:19SPEAKER_08: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:04:20SPEAKER_08: Totally, totally alive.
- 1:04:24SPEAKER_08: Yeah, totally live.
- 1:04:26SPEAKER_15: Yeah, we could probably do that.
- 1:04:27SPEAKER_15: We could probably edit it.
- 1:04:28SPEAKER_15: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:04:29SPEAKER_15: Um, so let's pick a future one.
- 1:04:30SPEAKER_15: Oh, yeah.
- 1:04:31SPEAKER_08: Yeah, let's do that.
- 1:04:32SPEAKER_08: Well, it's it'll be two weeks in the future.
- 1:04:34SPEAKER_08: This is true, but we're not gonna do anything like that.
- 1:04:36SPEAKER_15: There will be no podcast next week.
- 1:04:37SPEAKER_08: Oh, I actually pick I pre-picked it because it was so good I wanted it to be.
- 1:04:41SPEAKER_08: Oh, did you?
- 1:04:41SPEAKER_08: Yeah, so I pre-picked it.
- 1:04:43SPEAKER_08: Alright.
- 1:04:44SPEAKER_15: So for from two for two weeks from now.
- 1:04:46SPEAKER_15: Two weeks from now.
- 1:04:47SPEAKER_15: What is the question?
- 1:04:48SPEAKER_08: If you had but one Motown song to listen to while stranded on a desert island, what would it be?
- 1:04:55SPEAKER_08: Interesting.
- 1:04:56SPEAKER_08: Yeah, that's why I liked it.
- 1:04:57SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 1:04:59SPEAKER_15: So interesting.
- 1:05:00SPEAKER_15: Yeah, no, that's a good one.
- 1:05:02SPEAKER_08: Yeah, I saw I saw it when I was looking for the the holiday one.
- 1:05:06SPEAKER_08: I s I actually picked that first.
- 1:05:07SPEAKER_15: Right.
- 1:05:08SPEAKER_08: Then I was like, ah, well, it's the one before Christmas.
- 1:05:09SPEAKER_08: I'll see if I can find a holiday one.
- 1:05:11SPEAKER_08: So I did.
- 1:05:12SPEAKER_15: So all right.
- 1:05:13SPEAKER_15: So Yay for me! We will uh let's let's let's let's uh put put Miss Judgeness in right now.
- 1:05:23SPEAKER_08: Uh she did get back to me.
- 1:05:25SPEAKER_08: Oh good.
- 1:05:25SPEAKER_08: But it's it's not a recording, it's a uh actual writing.
- 1:05:29SPEAKER_08: That's okay.
- 1:05:29SPEAKER_08: That's okay.
- 1:05:29SPEAKER_08: So uh epic picks this week.
- 1:05:31SPEAKER_08: It was a difficult choice.
- 1:05:32SPEAKER_08: I absolutely love Carlos and Larry's Welcome to the Jungle.
- 1:05:35SPEAKER_08: Yes, life is a jungle.
- 1:05:36SPEAKER_08: I thought he won right there, but then O'Brien comes in with we didn't start the fire.
- 1:05:41SPEAKER_08: That was an epic choice.
- 1:05:42SPEAKER_08: I could not go with that one.
- 1:05:44SPEAKER_08: I couldn't I couldn't not go with that one.
- 1:05:46SPEAKER_08: That song is perfect to describe life from your time after being cryo cryo frozen.
- 1:05:52SPEAKER_15: So you ought to win that song.
- 1:05:54SPEAKER_15: Awesome.
- 1:05:54SPEAKER_15: Although that that kind of stops at uh like the nineties, doesn't it?
- 1:05:59SPEAKER_15: Doesn't it?
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_15: Stop at the night.
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_15: Oh, like late 80s.
- 1:06:01SPEAKER_15: Yeah, late 80s.
- 1:06:02SPEAKER_15: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:06:03SPEAKER_15: You're right.
- 1:06:03SPEAKER_08: Because I think it came out in like 80.
- 1:06:04SPEAKER_08: You're right.
- 1:06:05SPEAKER_08: 88, 89, something like that.
- 1:06:07SPEAKER_15: Yeah, you're right.
- 1:06:08SPEAKER_08: But anyway, cool.
- 1:06:09SPEAKER_08: There we go.
- 1:06:10SPEAKER_08: So and we already have the future question, so.
- 1:06:14SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 1:06:14SPEAKER_07: We actually got them all in.
- 1:06:16SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:06:21SPEAKER_07: Alright, there you have it.
- 1:06:24SPEAKER_13: We're gonna take a break.
- 1:06:26SPEAKER_13: That was awesome! She knows what she's talking about.
- 1:06:30SPEAKER_13: Heck yeah.
- 1:06:31SPEAKER_13: Why she's the judge.
- 1:06:33SPEAKER_13: We'll climb.

- 1:07:48SPEAKER_15: And Doug has another uh Christmas uh explanation of a Christmas song.
- 1:07:54SPEAKER_15: Is that right?
- 1:07:55SPEAKER_15: Was that what you're doing?
- 1:07:57SPEAKER_15: I don't remember how you what you called this.
- 1:08:00SPEAKER_15: I call it badly explained Christmas movies.
- 1:08:02SPEAKER_15: Oh, there you go.
- 1:08:02SPEAKER_15: That's what I'm talking about.
- 1:08:03SPEAKER_15: Alright, so I'm gonna take off my headphones and climb the wall.
- 1:08:05SPEAKER_08: Yeah, so this week we're going to be talking about that wonderful classic from the 60s, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.
- 1:08:13SPEAKER_08: So there's this freak reindeer born, and he's got a weird nose.
- 1:08:18SPEAKER_08: And uh so you know, mom and dad are like, well, I guess we'll have to deal with it, but you're kind of a you're kind of stupid looking.
- 1:08:28SPEAKER_08: We can't have it.
- 1:08:29SPEAKER_08: So, but anyway, we'll try to get away with it.
- 1:08:31SPEAKER_08: We'll cover it with some poop and uh see what happens.
- 1:08:34SPEAKER_08: So, but you know, he's out playing being Rudolph and the poop falls off his nose, and everyone's like, oh, look at a freak with the red nose.
- 1:08:42SPEAKER_08: You get out of here.
- 1:08:43SPEAKER_08: So he he hooks up with this elf that wants to be a dentist.
- 1:08:47SPEAKER_08: Poop on his nose or something?
- 1:08:48SPEAKER_08: I don't know.
- 1:08:50SPEAKER_08: It's my it's my explanation.
- 1:08:52SPEAKER_08: I'm I'm stuck with a poop.
- 1:08:54SPEAKER_08: Yeah, so anyway, he meets up with uh what's it what whatever his name is, Marvin?
- 1:08:59SPEAKER_08: Freddie?
- 1:09:00SPEAKER_06: I don't know.
- 1:09:01SPEAKER_08: I don't know.
- 1:09:02SPEAKER_08: Anyway, he wants to be a uh dentist, and so he's a freak because he doesn't want to put together toys.
- 1:09:07SPEAKER_08: And uh so they run away together and they run into uh the original uh Green Beret, uh Yosemite Sam.
- 1:09:16SPEAKER_15: No, Yukon Jack?
- 1:09:19SPEAKER_15: Jack.
- 1:09:19SPEAKER_08: Yeah, Yukon Jack.
- 1:09:20SPEAKER_08: Uh yeah, he was a little known fact, he was a uh Green Beret.
- 1:09:26SPEAKER_15: Like in real life?
- 1:09:28SPEAKER_08: Yeah, because that's a real story.
- 1:09:31SPEAKER_08: He was in the North Pole division.
- 1:09:33SPEAKER_08: Oh the first North Pole Green Beret Ranger Sniper Delta Marine Recon division.
- 1:09:44SPEAKER_08: So, anyway, so they meet up with him and uh they you know they have some adventures and they run into uh the abominable snowman and uh he's like, hey, I want to eat you guys, and they're like, No way, dude.
- 1:09:56SPEAKER_08: It sucks.
- 1:09:58SPEAKER_08: So Rudolph, they're like, Rudolph is like, ah, my nose is giving us away, I'm gonna run away.
- 1:10:03SPEAKER_08: And then uh, you know, everybody comes out looking for him, like his mom and dad and his girlfriend there.
- 1:10:08SPEAKER_08: Uh what her face was?
- 1:10:09SPEAKER_08: Shawanda.
- 1:10:10SPEAKER_08: I don't know.
- 1:10:12SPEAKER_08: Can't remember what her name was.
- 1:10:14SPEAKER_08: Uh but anyway, they Laquita Laquecia.
- 1:10:17SPEAKER_08: Laquuicia.
- 1:10:17SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 1:10:18SPEAKER_08: Uh and then the So they get captured by the abominable snowman.
- 1:10:24SPEAKER_08: And uh somehow the dentist elf takes his teeth out.
- 1:10:28SPEAKER_08: I'm not sure how.
- 1:10:30SPEAKER_08: But it in and all of a sudden he comes, he's real I don't know how this works.
- 1:10:34SPEAKER_08: I mean, this must be like cartoon magic.
- 1:10:37SPEAKER_08: But one minute he's an abominable snowman, he's mean and nasty, they take his teeth out, and all of a sudden he's a big lovable ball of jelly.
- 1:10:46SPEAKER_08: I I don't think that works in real life.
- 1:10:48SPEAKER_08: I mean, if somebody took my teeth out, I'd be pretty ticked off.
- 1:10:52SPEAKER_15: Well, the teeth, the tooth teeth were hurting him.
- 1:10:54SPEAKER_08: It was absolutely I don't think so.
- 1:10:56SPEAKER_08: I think he just took them out so they wouldn't eat him.
- 1:10:59SPEAKER_08: But I mean that's that's my interpretation of it.
- 1:11:01SPEAKER_08: I could be wrong.
- 1:11:02SPEAKER_08: And so anyway, they ended up going back, and uh, of course, it's really a bad storm, and Santa's like, ah, I can't get through this crap.
- 1:11:10SPEAKER_08: I got an ancient sleigh here and eight stupid reindeer with no lights.
- 1:11:17SPEAKER_08: So oh, wait a minute.
- 1:11:19SPEAKER_08: Rudolph, you got a light on your nose, dude.
- 1:11:22SPEAKER_08: Can you like lead my can you get us through the storm?
- 1:11:26SPEAKER_08: Rudolph's like, heck yeah, dude.
- 1:11:29SPEAKER_08: No problem.
- 1:11:29SPEAKER_08: That's what it's for.
- 1:11:31SPEAKER_08: So uh he's there he is.
- 1:11:34SPEAKER_08: And then Merry Christmas!
- 1:11:42SPEAKER_13: The end.
- 1:11:43SPEAKER_13: Just the look on your face.
- 1:11:45SPEAKER_13: Well, you completely lost everything.
- 1:11:47SPEAKER_08: I thought there was more.
- 1:11:48SPEAKER_08: I thought there was more to the story, but there really isn't.
- 1:11:50SPEAKER_08: He just shows up and they're like, put him in the team! There it is.
- 1:11:56SPEAKER_08: We have a flashlight now.
- 1:11:57SPEAKER_08: Let's go! Merry Christmas.
- 1:11:59SPEAKER_08: Merry Christmas, everybody.
- 1:12:00SPEAKER_08: The end.
- 1:12:01SPEAKER_08: Let's do this.
- 1:12:02SPEAKER_11: O'Brien and Doug's wall.
- 1:12:05SPEAKER_11: Oh, two, two, three.
- 1:12:10SPEAKER_15: Alright, I have an album.
- 1:12:14SPEAKER_15: Let the guessing begin.
- 1:12:16SPEAKER_15: Is it a man or is it a band?
- 1:12:19SPEAKER_15: It is the band.
- 1:12:21SPEAKER_08: Rock band?
- 1:12:22SPEAKER_15: Yep.
- 1:12:23SPEAKER_08: Height of popularity.
- 1:12:25SPEAKER_15: Um I'm gonna say mid-2000s.
- 1:12:29SPEAKER_15: Like 2010s.
- 1:12:31SPEAKER_15: Is it Creed?
- 1:12:32SPEAKER_15: No.
- 1:12:33SPEAKER_15: Creed was the 90s.
- 1:12:34SPEAKER_08: Oh yeah, that's right.
- 1:12:35SPEAKER_15: Early 2000s.
- 1:12:38SPEAKER_15: Rock band from the mid-2000s.
- 1:12:41SPEAKER_15: Mid 2000s.
- 1:12:41SPEAKER_15: 20 20 aughts.
- 1:12:42SPEAKER_15: Or 20 2010s.
- 1:12:44SPEAKER_15: 2010s?
- 1:12:44SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 1:12:45SPEAKER_08: Okay.
- 1:12:48SPEAKER_15: Uh they're still around?
- 1:12:50SPEAKER_15: Yeah, they're technically they are still around.
- 1:12:52SPEAKER_15: Uh you don't hear a lot about them.
- 1:12:54SPEAKER_15: They are, I think, probably touring.
- 1:12:57SPEAKER_15: They came out with an album last year.
- 1:13:00SPEAKER_15: Uh they kind of have a revolving door of members.
- 1:13:05SPEAKER_15: So um I don't know that anyway.
- 1:13:08SPEAKER_15: Like youngish guys?
- 1:13:09SPEAKER_15: No.
- 1:13:10SPEAKER_15: No, no.
- 1:13:10SPEAKER_15: I don't know that there's any original members left.
- 1:13:13SPEAKER_15: To be honest.
- 1:13:14SPEAKER_15: Already?
- 1:13:14SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 1:13:16SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 1:13:17SPEAKER_08: Any like Wonder Kins in the band?
- 1:13:20SPEAKER_15: Um how do you mean?
- 1:13:23SPEAKER_08: Like uh Prodigy.
- 1:13:27SPEAKER_08: No, no, no.
- 1:13:29SPEAKER_15: Really good guitar player.
- 1:13:31SPEAKER_15: Um some really good some really famous in the in the rock world, some really famous musicians have gone through the band.
- 1:13:43SPEAKER_15: Is it really like a super group?
- 1:13:44SPEAKER_15: It's not really a super group, I wouldn't call it.
- 1:13:46SPEAKER_15: I wouldn't call it that.
- 1:13:49SPEAKER_15: I will tell you this.
- 1:13:50SPEAKER_15: Uh after the first album, I lost touch with that.
- 1:13:56SPEAKER_15: This is the only album I have.
- 1:14:03SPEAKER_15: The first album was really he played with them.
- 1:15:00SPEAKER_08: Dead Daisies.
- 1:15:02SPEAKER_08: Oh, it is Dead Daisies.
- 1:15:03SPEAKER_15: It is Dead Daisies, yes.
- 1:15:04SPEAKER_08: Who was I trying to think of?
- 1:15:05SPEAKER_15: You were thinking of Revolution Saints.
- 1:15:06SPEAKER_08: Yes.
- 1:15:07SPEAKER_15: Yes.
- 1:15:08SPEAKER_15: Um so yeah, I have the very first album from Dead Dead Daisies.
- 1:15:12SPEAKER_15: That's a great album.
- 1:15:12SPEAKER_15: And it's a great album.
- 1:15:13SPEAKER_15: It had John Stevens on lead vocals.
- 1:15:16SPEAKER_15: I didn't know he was Australian.
- 1:15:17SPEAKER_15: Yep.
- 1:15:19SPEAKER_15: Uh let's see.
- 1:15:20SPEAKER_15: Let me let me play a little bit of it.
- 1:15:21SPEAKER_15: The very first single, actually, uh, had slash on it.
- 1:15:25SPEAKER_15: And it was this one, Lock and Load.
- 1:15:37SPEAKER_15: And I I love this lead singer's voice.
- 1:15:39SPEAKER_15: Just rasp and just stole.
- 1:15:41SPEAKER_15: Uh John Stevens.
- 1:15:54SPEAKER_15: So the band actually started with Richard Fortis on guitar, who was part of Guns N' Roses, and Dizzy Reed, who is the keyboard player of Guns N' Roses.
- 1:16:07SPEAKER_15: And uh Slash is Slash co-wrote this song and is playing on it.
- 1:16:17SPEAKER_15: Let me look.
- 1:16:21SPEAKER_15: Let me just go through some of the members.
- 1:16:25SPEAKER_15: So this is John Stevens on lead vocals.
- 1:16:28SPEAKER_15: Glenn Hughes played bass for a while.
- 1:16:33SPEAKER_15: Um Marco Mendoza.
- 1:16:36SPEAKER_15: Go ahead and play for he played for uh um Talus.
- 1:16:41SPEAKER_15: Not Talus.

- 1:16:45SPEAKER_15: Oh, that's a battle.
- 1:16:46SPEAKER_15: Yes.
- 1:16:47SPEAKER_15: Um he was all he was in a couple other side bands as well.
- 1:16:50SPEAKER_15: But he was in Deep Purple.
- 1:16:52SPEAKER_15: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:16:53SPEAKER_15: That's right.
- 1:16:54SPEAKER_15: Um Marco Mendoza played bass for a while.
- 1:16:59SPEAKER_15: Um like I told you, Brian Tishy on drums.
- 1:17:02SPEAKER_15: Richard Fortis and Dizzy Reed from Guns N' Roses were in the band.
- 1:17:05SPEAKER_15: Daryl Jones, the bass player for The Rolling Stones, was it was in the band for a while.
- 1:17:12SPEAKER_15: Currently they have John Karabi.
- 1:17:15SPEAKER_15: Oh, yeah, I knew John was in there from Motley Crue, uh, that one album that he did with Motley Crue.
- 1:17:20SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 1:17:20SPEAKER_15: Um, is singing lead vocals, and Doug Aldrich, who was in Whitesnake for a while.
- 1:17:25SPEAKER_15: Right.
- 1:17:26SPEAKER_15: Uh is playing guitar.
- 1:17:28SPEAKER_15: Then they have David Lowy, uh Michael Devon, and Tommy Cluf Clufitos.
- 1:17:37SPEAKER_15: Clufitos?
- 1:17:38SPEAKER_15: Clufitos?
- 1:17:39SPEAKER_15: Yeah, it sounds good.
- 1:17:40SPEAKER_15: Yeah, it sounds good.
- 1:17:41SPEAKER_15: Um so first time we've done Dead Daisies.
- 1:17:48SPEAKER_15: I just love this album.
- 1:17:50SPEAKER_15: It's just straight up rock and roll.
- 1:17:51SPEAKER_15: I mean, it's good stuff.
- 1:17:54unknown: Don't talk so long.
- 1:18:01SPEAKER_05: Don't do so.
- 1:18:22SPEAKER_15: So according to uh Wikipedia, they John Stevens left the group in 2015, uh, and John Kurabi became the lead singer.
- 1:18:39SPEAKER_15: Um let me just play a couple more songs here.
- 1:18:46SPEAKER_15: This is all from the debut album, which is self-titled, by the way.
- 1:18:49SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 1:18:50SPEAKER_04: There we go.
- 1:18:51SPEAKER_04: There we go.
- 1:18:51SPEAKER_04: That's the way it's supposed to be right by the way it did it.
- 1:19:00SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:19:02SPEAKER_04: We all make mistakes, but you know in my heart.
- 1:19:07SPEAKER_04: I'm willing to stay to death to a body.
- 1:19:15SPEAKER_15: Do you remember when um Obama, I think it was Obama, opened up the um border between the US and Cuba?
- 1:19:24SPEAKER_15: Do you remember that?
- 1:19:25SPEAKER_15: No.
- 1:19:27SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 1:19:27SPEAKER_15: Because it was locked there for a while and we couldn't go to Cuba.
- 1:19:31SPEAKER_15: Remember that?
- 1:19:33SPEAKER_08: I do remember that.
- 1:19:34SPEAKER_15: Yeah, well, they opened it up and you could travel to Cuba now.
- 1:19:38SPEAKER_15: Oh, sure.

- 1:22:00SPEAKER_15: It's uh I mean, if you like just straight ahead um, you know, loud rock and roll, then the dead daisies are the way to go.
- 1:22:08SPEAKER_15: Um so yeah, I uh and again, I I lost touch with the Matthew after the first album, but that was Yeah, I had I got like two or three of them.
- 1:22:15SPEAKER_08: Did you?
