A Missouri lawyer, Peter E. Goss, has been sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to drunk driving that killed a 65-year-old man on U.S. 50. Despite prosecutors and his own attorneys recommending the sentence, the judge denied his request for early release through a special DOC program. Goss, who was seriously injured in the crash, has already surrendered his law licenses in Missouri and Kansas and forfeited his law firm. The victim, Kevin Ray Wilson, died at the scene near Route Z.
