- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up everyone and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:03Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. In this episode we're picking up where we
- 0:06Speaker 1: left off with Doug Band and his interview with Congress. Question,
- 0:11Speaker 1: your friendship with Ms. Maxwell. You said many times that
- 0:14Speaker 1: you don't recall regarding that relationship, but you say that
- 0:18Speaker 1: you were friends? Band, we were friends. Question, but you
- 0:21Speaker 1: don't recall many, many interactions with her? Answer, no sir,
- 0:25Speaker 1: I don't recall. Higgins, that's all. Now it's Mr. Harness
- 0:29Speaker 1: doing the questioning again. Question, just to touch quickly on this.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Did you ever have a conversation with President Clinton about Mr.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Epstein's assistance or young women around Mr. Epstein? Answer, not
- 0:41Speaker 1: that I recall. Question, okay. I'd like to introduce into
- 0:44Speaker 1: the record Majority Exhibit 1. This is an email chain
- 0:48Speaker 1: on April 13th, 2003. Between the WJC email address, which
- 0:53Speaker 1: I will admit to you is WJC at IMC I-N-G-U-L-A-R.com,
- 1:01Speaker 1: singular with a C, and Ghislaine Maxwell. This is marked
- 1:04Speaker 1: as Bates number, E-F-T-A-0-0-5-8-2-3-2-6. We'll give you a moment to
- 1:10Speaker 1: review this. Answer, thank you. Question, Mr. Band. Outside of
- 1:16Speaker 1: preparation for this interview, have you ever seen these messages before? Answer,
- 1:21Speaker 1: I don't recall this message at all, no. Question, from
- 1:24Speaker 1: the WJC email address, did you send that email? Answer,
- 1:27Speaker 1: I don't recall sending it. Question, Mr. Band, is that
- 1:31Speaker 1: WJC email address? Is that your email address? Answer, you know,
- 1:35Speaker 1: I don't remember specifically the email addresses that we used
- 1:38Speaker 1: and we didn't use, but I believe so. Question, so Mr. Band,
- 1:42Speaker 1: did you have access to a WJC email account to
- 1:46Speaker 1: which I've already laid out to you? Did you have
- 1:49Speaker 1: access to that? Answer, to the best of my recollection, yes. Question,
- 1:53Speaker 1: did anyone else have access to that email address? Answer,
- 1:56Speaker 1: I don't think so. Not that I can recall. Question,
- 2:00Speaker 1: so then we can agree that if you don't recall
- 2:02Speaker 1: anybody else having access to this, but you had access
- 2:06Speaker 1: to this, this is your email? Answer, I believe so,
- 2:09Speaker 1: but again, this is 23 years ago. Question, just working
- 2:13Speaker 1: through the substance of the email, it opens with, just
- 2:15Speaker 1: spoke to our favorite person, Mr. Levine. Is that Philip
- 2:18Speaker 1: Levine that you're referring to? Answer, you know, again, I
- 2:22Speaker 1: just don't remember the email, so I don't know, possibly, sure. Question,
- 2:25Speaker 1: who is Mr. Levine? Answer, Philip Levine is the president
- 2:28Speaker 1: of Or a friend of President Clinton's? Was he your
- 2:32Speaker 1: friend as well? We became friends, yeah. When did you
- 2:36Speaker 1: become friends with Mr. Levine? I don't recall specifically when
- 2:41Speaker 1: we became friends. Do you know who introduced you to Mr. Levine?
- 2:45Speaker 1: I don't remember. Can you characterize your relationship with Mr. Levine?
- 2:51Speaker 1: Socially friends. And how long did you have a relationship
- 2:55Speaker 1: with Mr. Levine? I don't remember specifically. He was again
- 2:59Speaker 1: a friend of the president's and important to him, and
- 3:02Speaker 1: we were friends. We became friends as well. And by socially, question,
- 3:08Speaker 1: what does that mean? You attended functions together? You saw
- 3:11Speaker 1: each other purely at work-type events? What does socially friends
- 3:14Speaker 1: mean to you? Answer, yeah, I mean, I was a young, single,
- 3:18Speaker 1: unmarried guy in New York in my late 20s when
- 3:21Speaker 1: President Clinton left the White House, and I was friends
- 3:23Speaker 1: with Philip. Question, can you approximate when your relationship with
- 3:27Speaker 1: Philip Levine started? Answer, I'm sorry, I just don't remember when. Question, well,
- 3:32Speaker 1: this is you emailing about saying our favorite person, Mr. Levine.
- 3:36Speaker 1: So would you say that he was a close friend
- 3:37Speaker 1: at the time of the email? Answer, you know, again,
- 3:41Speaker 1: I would characterize him as a friend. As I said
- 3:44Speaker 1: about these emails, they were, you know, written a long
- 3:47Speaker 1: time ago. Flirtatious, joking, messing around, silly emails. So I
- 3:50Speaker 1: don't remember. Question, the reason I ask is that we
- 3:54Speaker 1: heard testimony that Philip Levine... has sexually assaulted victims of
- 3:58Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein around the time of the early 2000s. Do
- 4:01Speaker 1: you have any knowledge of Mr. Levine committing these acts?
- 4:05Speaker 1: Did you ever hear a conversation with Mr. Levine about
- 4:07Speaker 1: him sexually assaulting women? Answer, no, absolutely not. Question, do
- 4:12Speaker 1: you have any knowledge at any time that Mr. Levine
- 4:14Speaker 1: was in sexual contact with a woman or young girl
- 4:17Speaker 1: associated with Mr. Epstein or Ms. Maxwell? Answer, no. Question,
- 4:21Speaker 1: so you never had a conversation with Mr. Levine about
- 4:24Speaker 1: any woman associated To Ms. Maxwell or Epstein? Answer, not
- 4:28Speaker 1: that I recall. Question, working through this email, it seems
- 4:32Speaker 1: that you and Mr. Levine were going to try to
- 4:34Speaker 1: do a lunch Tuesday or Wednesday. Did that lunch ever
- 4:38Speaker 1: occur around this date? Answer, I have no idea. I
- 4:40Speaker 1: don't remember the email. Question, moving on. It seems that you, Mr. Levine,
- 4:46Speaker 1: were fretting over your women troubles. Do you recall the
- 4:48Speaker 1: nature of the conversation with Mr. Levine? What were the
- 4:52Speaker 1: women troubles? Answer, no, I don't. Question you state that
- 4:55Speaker 1: this is you're trying to set up a lunch prior
- 4:58Speaker 1: to a dinner. This is a dinner that supposedly happened
- 5:01Speaker 1: on April 15th, 2003 at Jeffrey Epstein's New York Manhattan townhome.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Did you attend that dinner? Answer as I said earlier,
- 5:09Speaker 1: the only time I remember attending a dinner at his
- 5:12Speaker 1: house was with a large number of people. Originally, I
- 5:15Speaker 1: was going to staff President Clinton and he decided not
- 5:18Speaker 1: to go to the dinner and I went and attended
- 5:20Speaker 1: the dinner. Question who attended the dinner? Answer, I don't
- 5:23Speaker 1: remember specifically who attended the dinner. Question, you don't recall
- 5:27Speaker 1: any single person by name attending the dinner? Answer again,
- 5:30Speaker 1: I'm sorry. As I said, we just attended so many
- 5:34Speaker 1: dinners over so many years. And this was, you know,
- 5:36Speaker 1: almost two and a half decades ago. So I don't
- 5:38Speaker 1: remember specifically who was there. Question, I'm just going to
- 5:42Speaker 1: run through this list and see if it refreshes your
- 5:45Speaker 1: memory on who attended the dinner. Glenn Maxwell. Answer, possibly.
- 5:49Speaker 1: I mean, I just don't remember. Question, did Jeffrey Epstein
- 5:52Speaker 1: attend the dinner? Answer, I don't know. I don't recall
- 5:54Speaker 1: him being there or not, but it was at his house,
- 5:57Speaker 1: so I assume so. Question, was Frederick Fokai attending the dinner? Answer,
- 6:01Speaker 1: I don't remember. Tom Pritzker? I don't recall. Question, Philip Levine? Answer,
- 6:07Speaker 1: I don't recall. Question, Sergey Brin? Answer, I don't recall. Question,
- 6:11Speaker 1: Leon Black? Answer, I don't recall. Question, Lauren Stroll? Answer, same. Emma,
- 6:17Speaker 1: can you speak up? Band, I'm sorry. I don't recall.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Same answer. I don't recall. Jess Daly, I don't recall.
- 6:23Speaker 1: John Brockman, I don't recall. David Blaine, I don't recall.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Mort Zuckerman, I don't recall. Peter Mandelson, I don't recall. Question,
- 6:32Speaker 1: did any member of the Clinton family attend this dinner? Answer,
- 6:34Speaker 1: not that I recall. Question in this email, it seems
- 6:38Speaker 1: that you're talking about a Brenda. Who is the Brenda
- 6:41Speaker 1: that you're referring to? Answer, you know, again, I don't
- 6:45Speaker 1: recall the email, so I don't know. I dated somebody
- 6:48Speaker 1: named Brenda. Question, and who was that? Answer, a woman
- 6:51Speaker 1: named Brenda Shad. Question, did Miss Shad have any relationship
- 6:55Speaker 1: or association with Mr. Epstein or Maxwell? Answer, not that
- 6:58Speaker 1: I know of. Question, you go on to say that,
- 7:01Speaker 1: speak for this, he, meaning Mr. Levine, is bringing the
- 7:04Speaker 1: Brit to J.E.'s. Who was the Brit that Mr. Levine
- 7:08Speaker 1: was transporting? Answer, I have no idea. I don't remember. Question,
- 7:12Speaker 1: were there any young women or girls present at the dinner? Answer,
- 7:15Speaker 1: I don't recall. Question, I'll report to you that there
- 7:18Speaker 1: is an email exchange between you and Ms. Maxwell where
- 7:21Speaker 1: she states to you that you should know that the
- 7:23Speaker 1: people who are going to be serving along with the
- 7:26Speaker 1: staff are five models. Did any female models attend the dinner? Answer,
- 7:31Speaker 1: I don't remember whether they did or didn't. Question, you
- 7:33Speaker 1: don't recall if there was ever any women or young
- 7:35Speaker 1: girls attending the dinner? Answer, no, sir, I do not. Question, finally,
- 7:40Speaker 1: just one last part of that email. It seems that
- 7:42Speaker 1: you're talking about talking to Ms. Maxwell saying, we figured
- 7:46Speaker 1: you would come. maybe a late night burger fest again.
- 7:49Speaker 1: What does burger fest mean? Answer, I have no idea.
- 7:52Speaker 1: I mean, as I sit here today, I'd like to
- 7:55Speaker 1: go to Mellon's on the Upper East Side in New York.
- 7:58Speaker 1: It's open very, very late. It's one of the only places,
- 8:01Speaker 1: so it possibly could have been that, but I don't
- 8:03Speaker 1: remember anything. I don't remember this email or anything about it. Question, Ms.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Maxwell replies saying how happy she is contemplating how lucky
- 8:11Speaker 1: she is being with her two favorite men. Why would Ms.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Maxwell consider you one of her favorite men at the time? Answer,
- 8:17Speaker 1: I have no idea. Mr. Emmer, question Mr. Band. During
- 8:21Speaker 1: your opening, you testified to not going to Mr. Epstein's Island.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Is that right? Answer, yes. Question, did you ever visit
- 8:27Speaker 1: the Palm Beach home? Answer, no, not that I recall. Question,
- 8:31Speaker 1: did you ever visit the New Mexico ranch? Answer, no,
- 8:34Speaker 1: not that I recall. Question, what about his apartment in Paris? No. Question,
- 8:40Speaker 1: and you testified you had been to the Manhattan home.
- 8:42Speaker 1: Is that right? Answer, yes. Question, what do you remember
- 8:46Speaker 1: from your visit to the property? Answer, yeah, as I said,
- 8:50Speaker 1: those two instances are all that I recall. Once when
- 8:52Speaker 1: staffing President Clinton and the other was for dinner. Question,
- 8:56Speaker 1: and it's been reported and we have seen from the
- 8:59Speaker 1: files released by the Department of Justice that Mr. Epstein
- 9:02Speaker 1: decorated his home with odd and unusual weird artwork. Do
- 9:06Speaker 1: you have any recollection of seeing anything that you thought
- 9:09Speaker 1: was unusual on his property? Answer, I've seen those reports
- 9:13Speaker 1: as well. I do not. I recall when I staffed
- 9:15Speaker 1: the president there, I went in the door and sat
- 9:18Speaker 1: in the front sort of waiting area, the foyer, whatever
- 9:21Speaker 1: you want to call it, and didn't go into the
- 9:23Speaker 1: house or go on a tour. I don't recall seeing anything. Question,
- 9:27Speaker 1: you didn't see nude paintings or photography? Answer, not that
- 9:30Speaker 1: I recall, no. Question, did you see cameras in the property? Answer, no,
- 9:34Speaker 1: not that I recall. Question, there's a weird photo that
- 9:38Speaker 1: portrays your former boss wearing a dress. Did you see
- 9:40Speaker 1: that photo or painting while you were on the property? Answer,
- 9:44Speaker 1: I don't recall seeing the photo. I've seen it in
- 9:46Speaker 1: print subsequently. Question by Mr. Harness. But you weren't aware
- 9:51Speaker 1: of that painting existing during the time of knowing Mr.
- 9:53Speaker 1: Epstein and Maxwell? Answer, no, not that I recall. Mr.
- 9:57Speaker 1: Grant asking the question. Mr. Bandt. did Ghislaine Maxwell or
- 10:01Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein ever inform you that they were working with
- 10:03Speaker 1: any intelligence service of any nation, including the United States? Mr. Band, no. Grant,
- 10:10Speaker 1: during your relationship or time knowing Mr. Epstein and Ms. Maxwell,
- 10:15Speaker 1: did you ever suspect Mr. Epstein or Ms. Maxwell of
- 10:18Speaker 1: being affiliated with with an intelligence agency? Mr. Band, not
- 10:22Speaker 1: that I recall. Mr. Harness, we'll go off the record,
- 10:26Speaker 1: and now they're back on. Question, good morning, Mr. Band. Answer,
- 10:30Speaker 1: good morning. Question, my name is Redacted, and my colleagues
- 10:33Speaker 1: Redacted and Redacted and I will be conducting the questioning
- 10:36Speaker 1: for the minority. We appreciate your willingness to speak with
- 10:39Speaker 1: us today. I have a couple of notes before we begin. First,
- 10:43Speaker 1: some of our questions may be a little repetitive to
- 10:46Speaker 1: those of our majority colleagues. We're going to do our
- 10:49Speaker 1: best to keep that at a minimum. And then secondly,
- 10:52Speaker 1: to the extent that any of our questions or your
- 10:54Speaker 1: answers contain the names of survivors or their identifying information,
- 10:59Speaker 1: we would ask that the majority redact that information prior
- 11:02Speaker 1: to releasing the transcript publicly. And with that, we'll get started. Mr. Band,
- 11:06Speaker 1: you spoke about much of this in the prior hour,
- 11:09Speaker 1: but just so we're clear for the record, I'm going
- 11:11Speaker 1: to ask you to set a foundational questions about Jeffrey
- 11:14Speaker 1: Epstein and Glenn Maxwell. To your knowledge, did President Clinton
- 11:18Speaker 1: ever engage in sexual activity with a person introduced to
- 11:21Speaker 1: him by Jeffrey Epstein or Ghislaine Maxwell? Answer, no. Question,
- 11:25Speaker 1: prior to Epstein's indictment in 2006, do you have any
- 11:28Speaker 1: first-hand knowledge of President Clinton being aware of sexual abuse
- 11:31Speaker 1: committed by Jeffrey Epstein? Answer, no. Question, prior to Epstein's
- 11:35Speaker 1: indictment in 2006, did you have any first-hand knowledge of
- 11:39Speaker 1: Secretary Clinton being aware of sexual abuse committed by Jeffrey Epstein? Answer, no. Question,
- 11:45Speaker 1: earlier this year, President Clinton testified under oath that he
- 11:48Speaker 1: has never visited Jeffrey Epstein's former estate on Little St.
- 11:51Speaker 1: James Island. Mr. Band, do you have any first-hand knowledge
- 11:54Speaker 1: to dispute President Clinton's testimony? Answer, no. Question, you discussed
- 11:59Speaker 1: your time at the White House with my majority colleagues.
- 12:02Speaker 1: And again, just to revisit that time, we understand that
- 12:05Speaker 1: President Clinton, during President Clinton's time in office, Jeffrey Epstein
- 12:09Speaker 1: visited the White House on 17 occasions, from 93 to 95.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Did you have any role in those visits? Answer, no,
- 12:16Speaker 1: I did not. I was in college. Question, and in
- 12:19Speaker 1: October of 1999, toward the end of President Clinton's tenure,
- 12:23Speaker 1: Epstein contributed $ 20, 000 to Hillary's joint fundraising account. At that time,
- 12:28Speaker 1: were you aware of the contribution? Answer, no. Question, did
- 12:31Speaker 1: you play any role in securing the contribution? Answer, no. Question,
- 12:36Speaker 1: and as you discussed, President Clinton's final day in office
- 12:38Speaker 1: was January 20th, 2001, and after that he left office.
- 12:42Speaker 1: You continued to work for him. And again, just so
- 12:44Speaker 1: the record's clear, in total, how long did you work
- 12:47Speaker 1: for President Clinton? Answer, well, I was an intern in
- 12:51Speaker 1: the fall of 95. Consider that working or not. I
- 12:54Speaker 1: was hired on staff, I believe, in early 96 and
- 12:56Speaker 1: left sometime in early mid-2012. Question, okay, do you remember
- 13:00Speaker 1: the particular date when you last worked for President Clinton? Answer,
- 13:05Speaker 1: I'm sorry. It's a good question. Sometime in the early
- 13:08Speaker 1: to mid part of 2012. Question okay. And when was
- 13:11Speaker 1: the last time you spoke with President Clinton? Answer, you know,
- 13:14Speaker 1: as I said earlier, I believe it's been at least
- 13:16Speaker 1: a decade since I spoke with him, but I don't
- 13:18Speaker 1: recall specifically. All right, folks, we're going to wrap up
- 13:22Speaker 1: right here. And in the next episode, we're going to
- 13:24Speaker 1: pick up where we left off. All the information that
- 13:27Speaker 1: goes with this episode can be found in the description box.
- 13:30Speaker 1: What's up, everyone? And welcome to another episode of the
- 13:33Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're going to pick up
- 13:37Speaker 1: where we left off with Doug Band. and his conversation
- 13:41Speaker 1: with Congress. Question, and again, I know you spoke about
- 13:46Speaker 1: this earlier, but to dive in a little bit more,
- 13:49Speaker 1: can you explain what your role was with President Clinton
- 13:52Speaker 1: after he left the White House? Answer, my role, when
- 13:55Speaker 1: he left the White House, I was still finishing law school,
- 13:58Speaker 1: so I was going to night school part-time. You know,
- 14:00Speaker 1: working full-time to support myself, which was a lot. My
- 14:04Speaker 1: role initially was just a continuation of what I did
- 14:08Speaker 1: of my role as the president's aide when he was
- 14:10Speaker 1: in the White House. Question, what were those responsibilities? Answer,
- 14:15Speaker 1: those responsibilities were, as was said earlier, his body man.
- 14:19Speaker 1: I traveled with him, maintained schedule, tried to keep him
- 14:22Speaker 1: on time, giving his briefing materials. I was a staffer. Question,
- 14:27Speaker 1: and did that role change over the course of your
- 14:29Speaker 1: employment with President Clinton after he left the White House? Answer,
- 14:33Speaker 1: you know, as I said earlier to the congressman, the
- 14:35Speaker 1: staff was small, so... I think everybody jumped in and
- 14:39Speaker 1: did whatever different roles. So my role, I think, morphed
- 14:42Speaker 1: over time into doing more things, but inside the staff,
- 14:45Speaker 1: inside his staff, in his office. Question, so during this time,
- 14:49Speaker 1: after he leaves the White House, generally speaking, if somebody
- 14:52Speaker 1: wanted to speak with President Clinton or arrange a meeting
- 14:56Speaker 1: with him, how would that work? Answer, you know, there
- 14:59Speaker 1: is a number of ways someone could arrange a meeting
- 15:01Speaker 1: or speak with him. They could call him. He had
- 15:03Speaker 1: a cell phone, his house, his office, all other staffers,
- 15:06Speaker 1: his friends, his family. There was a number of ways
- 15:09Speaker 1: to get in touch with him and a number of
- 15:11Speaker 1: ways to set meetings and visit with him. Question and
- 15:14Speaker 1: the reason I ask to go back to this Vanity
- 15:16Speaker 1: Fair article in December of 2020. I'll represent to you
- 15:20Speaker 1: that it says, quote, because Clinton didn't carry a cell
- 15:23Speaker 1: phone or use email. Anyone who wanted to speak to
- 15:26Speaker 1: Clinton had to go through Doug Band. Do you disagree
- 15:29Speaker 1: with that characterization? Answer, I do. I mean, again, to
- 15:32Speaker 1: the best of my recollection, he had his own cell phone.
- 15:36Speaker 1: I don't know at what point he got it, Or
- 15:38Speaker 1: I don't recall when he got his own cell phone,
- 15:40Speaker 1: but there, as I said, there's a number of ways
- 15:42Speaker 1: to get President Clinton to contact him, to reach him,
- 15:45Speaker 1: to be in touch, to engage, to ask him things,
- 15:48Speaker 1: all those communications. Question, is it fair to say that
- 15:52Speaker 1: part of your role with President Clinton was to evaluate
- 15:54Speaker 1: and assist in making a decision whether to meet with someone? Answer, well, ultimately,
- 16:00Speaker 1: you know, the decision is his whether he wants to
- 16:03Speaker 1: meet with somebody or not. My role in being a
- 16:05Speaker 1: part of that process, along with a variety of other folks,
- 16:09Speaker 1: would be more accurate, yes. Question, and would you receive
- 16:13Speaker 1: requests from external individuals to meet with President Clinton? Answer, I,
- 16:17Speaker 1: along with other people, did, yes. Question, Mr. Band, a
- 16:21Speaker 1: few years after Mr. Clinton leaves the White House, the
- 16:24Speaker 1: Clinton Global Initiative is formed, is that right? Answer, correct. Question,
- 16:29Speaker 1: and what is the Clinton Global Initiative? Answer, the Clinton
- 16:32Speaker 1: Global Initiative, well, it's hard to explain. I mean, it's complicated.
- 16:35Speaker 1: A large philanthropic endeavor that now, I don't know what
- 16:39Speaker 1: its latest iteration is, but at the time, it was
- 16:41Speaker 1: set up sort of going back a little bit and
- 16:44Speaker 1: trying to answer a little bit more than what you're asking.
- 16:47Speaker 1: But President Clinton attended a lot of conferences around the world.
- 16:50Speaker 1: And a lot of those conferences, people sat around and
- 16:53Speaker 1: talked and self-importance and those kinds of things. Something that
- 16:56Speaker 1: I was very passionate about was believing that we, that
- 17:00Speaker 1: we as a country, and we as a world could
- 17:02Speaker 1: really change the face of how people engage in philanthropic
- 17:06Speaker 1: activity and civic service. And so I spent a lot
- 17:09Speaker 1: of time thinking and coming up with an idea that
- 17:11Speaker 1: would be about changing the way that philanthropy was engaged
- 17:15Speaker 1: upon around the world, and certainly in this country, and
- 17:18Speaker 1: where everybody could pay it forward, or give some time
- 17:21Speaker 1: to civic engagement or public service of some kind. And
- 17:24Speaker 1: so morphing that into an idea to create the Clinton
- 17:27Speaker 1: Global Initiative, which was a conference that was created for
- 17:30Speaker 1: people to come and provide concrete actions, rather than just
- 17:34Speaker 1: sort of sitting around and talking. And so that led to,
- 17:36Speaker 1: you know, commitments all over the world of billions and
- 17:39Speaker 1: billions of dollars, impacting hundreds of millions of people around
- 17:43Speaker 1: the globe. Question, and do you recall when the Clinton
- 17:46Speaker 1: Global Initiative was formed? Answer, it was in the early
- 17:49Speaker 1: 2000s where I had started thinking about this. I believe
- 17:52Speaker 1: the first one was launched in 2005. I mean, that was, again,
- 17:55Speaker 1: a long time ago. I'm not exactly sure when the
- 17:58Speaker 1: first one was. question, and just for my benefit. What's
- 18:01Speaker 1: the difference between the Clinton Foundation and the Clinton Global Initiative? Answer,
- 18:06Speaker 1: that's a good question. The Clinton Global Initiative was its
- 18:09Speaker 1: own separate entity, which was about the conference and bringing
- 18:12Speaker 1: together of people to make concrete actions to do good
- 18:16Speaker 1: around the world and engage on things. The Clinton Foundation was,
- 18:19Speaker 1: you know, presidents have presidential foundations upon leaving office. And
- 18:24Speaker 1: this foundation was created by him, as I said earlier,
- 18:27Speaker 1: about going on these humanitarian trips and missions and create
- 18:31Speaker 1: initiatives and lots of other things fell within that framework. Question,
- 18:36Speaker 1: so I want to turn the statement to Mr. Epstein's
- 18:37Speaker 1: lawyers that have made in correspondence, legal correspondence. So in 2007, Mr.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Epstein's lawyers claimed that he was, quote, part of the
- 18:46Speaker 1: original group that conceived the Clinton Global Initiative. Do you
- 18:49Speaker 1: agree with that statement? Answer, no. Question, And Ms. Maxwell
- 18:53Speaker 1: told the Department of Justice last July that she was, quote,
- 18:56Speaker 1: very central to the startup of the Clinton Global Initiative.
- 18:59Speaker 1: Is that your recollection? Answer, I have no recollection of
- 19:03Speaker 1: her being involved whatsoever. Question, so generally speaking, you know,
- 19:07Speaker 1: we spoke about your role with President Clinton. In particular,
- 19:11Speaker 1: what was your role with the Clinton Global Initiative? Answer, well,
- 19:14Speaker 1: you know, I conceived the idea. As I said, I
- 19:17Speaker 1: thought about this for a long, long time and really
- 19:20Speaker 1: believed that there was an opportunity and a void existed
- 19:23Speaker 1: for creating a way for people to engage civically, and
- 19:26Speaker 1: as I've said, give back and pay it forward, and
- 19:29Speaker 1: engage in society. And that vision of mine translated all
- 19:33Speaker 1: the way down to very young kids, when they would
- 19:35Speaker 1: go to kindergarten, would start spending a day or a
- 19:37Speaker 1: month or a day a quarter giving back in some form,
- 19:41Speaker 1: whether that was clearing up a beach or a park
- 19:43Speaker 1: or whatever, whatever they could do. And so the CGI
- 19:46Speaker 1: was born out of that vision. I recall writing a
- 19:49Speaker 1: memo to the president laying out my vision for what
- 19:51Speaker 1: I thought this could be and him approving it moving
- 19:54Speaker 1: forward there was you know then he hired someone who
- 19:57Speaker 1: was a director a CEO if you will of CGI
- 20:01Speaker 1: and production staff it was entirely massive endeavor at a
- 20:04Speaker 1: hotel with signage and events and people it was a
- 20:07Speaker 1: huge conference Question, and were you a paid employee of CGI? Answer,
- 20:12Speaker 1: I don't believe that I was. I don't remember specifically
- 20:15Speaker 1: who paid me at the time, I mean which entity
- 20:17Speaker 1: paid me, because there was a lot of different entities,
- 20:20Speaker 1: but my job was in the president's office, on his staff,
- 20:23Speaker 1: not on CGI's staff or Foundation staff. Question, and how
- 20:27Speaker 1: did CGI operate generally? For example, how did CGI find
- 20:31Speaker 1: and engage donors? Answer, there was an entire part of CGI,
- 20:34Speaker 1: as far as I recall, and know, that engaged in
- 20:37Speaker 1: finding people, and to make commitments and, you know, someone
- 20:40Speaker 1: that had solar panels that could donate them to a
- 20:42Speaker 1: village in Africa, or they needed to be shipped, so
- 20:45Speaker 1: you had to find someone that was willing to donate
- 20:48Speaker 1: the panels, someone that would ship the panels, someone that
- 20:51Speaker 1: would install the panels. So it was a multi-led effort
- 20:54Speaker 1: by CGI staff at the time that did all those
- 20:57Speaker 1: kinds of things. Question, and do you know how Jeffrey
- 21:00Speaker 1: Epstein and Glenn Maxwell became engaged with CGI? Answer, I
- 21:05Speaker 1: do not recall how they became involved in CGI. if
- 21:08Speaker 1: they were. Question, do you recall having any conversation with
- 21:11Speaker 1: either of them about CGI? Answer, I don't recall having
- 21:15Speaker 1: conversations with either about CGI. Question, and we'll get into
- 21:19Speaker 1: the flights a bit later. But there were several trips,
- 21:22Speaker 1: as you spoke about earlier, where President Clinton flew on
- 21:25Speaker 1: Epstein's plane to various places across the world for humanitarian reasons.
- 21:30Speaker 1: Was that through the Clinton Foundation? Answer, I believe so.
- 21:33Speaker 1: When you say through the Foundation... To the best of
- 21:35Speaker 1: my recollection, he was traveling to a lot of trips where,
- 21:38Speaker 1: you know, they were complex. There was a lot of
- 21:41Speaker 1: different things going on during the trip. Speeches, meetings, coffees,
- 21:45Speaker 1: old friends, world leaders, humanitarian efforts. There were a lot
- 21:49Speaker 1: of things going on. So I don't want to characterize
- 21:52Speaker 1: it as just one thing, but for the most part, yes,
- 21:55Speaker 1: under the rubric of the Clinton Foundation. Question, and shifting
- 21:59Speaker 1: gears a little bit, I know there's some ambiguity when
- 22:02Speaker 1: you first met Glenn Maxwell. But when did you first
- 22:05Speaker 1: meet Ghislaine Maxwell? Was it your understanding that she was
- 22:07Speaker 1: in a relationship with Jeffrey Epstein? A romantic relationship? Answer.
- 22:12Speaker 1: I don't recall having a view on that at all. Question.
- 22:15Speaker 1: You didn't have a view on that or you didn't
- 22:16Speaker 1: know about it? Answer. Neither. I don't know. Question. Did
- 22:20Speaker 1: you ever gain an understanding that Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine
- 22:22Speaker 1: Maxwell were in a romantic relationship? Answer. Not that I recall.
- 22:28Speaker 1: Question from Redacted. Mr. Band. I'm going to walk through
- 22:31Speaker 1: some specific interactions between Clinton and Epstein and Maxwell, but first,
- 22:37Speaker 1: I would like to just clarify something from the previous hour.
- 22:40Speaker 1: You said that President Clinton and Jeffrey Epstein appeared to
- 22:43Speaker 1: be friends. Is that correct? Answer, yes. Question, but you
- 22:47Speaker 1: also said that you were never present during any conversation
- 22:50Speaker 1: between President Clinton and Jeffrey Epstein. Answer, I believe I
- 22:54Speaker 1: said I don't recall any conversations. Question, so what made
- 22:58Speaker 1: you think that the two of them were friends? Answer,
- 23:01Speaker 1: that's a good question. By virtue of the time they
- 23:04Speaker 1: spent together, that was just my perception that I have today,
- 23:08Speaker 1: that I recall thinking that they were friends. I don't
- 23:11Speaker 1: know what the specifics of that are, but I just
- 23:13Speaker 1: remember that. Question, is it true that most of the
- 23:17Speaker 1: time they spent together, though, was these humanitarian trips or
- 23:21Speaker 1: other business-related meetings? Answer, I don't know. I think it's
- 23:24Speaker 1: probably a better question for him. I don't think so.
- 23:28Speaker 1: I think they spent time together. I think that was
- 23:30Speaker 1: the majority of the time they spent together. Question, thank you.
- 23:35Speaker 1: I would like to mark as minority exhibit A. This
- 23:38Speaker 1: is an email from Maxwell to WJC email that we
- 23:41Speaker 1: discussed in the previous hour. It's dated February 6, 2002.
- 23:45Speaker 1: I'll give you a moment to read through that. And
- 23:48Speaker 1: I believe in the majority's hour, they established that WJC
- 23:52Speaker 1: email was you at the time. Is that correct? Answer,
- 23:55Speaker 1: as far as I can recall, yes. Question, do you
- 23:57Speaker 1: remember receiving this email from Glenn Maxwell? Answer, I do not. Question,
- 24:02Speaker 1: do you recall a party in Miami that she's referring to? Answer,
- 24:06Speaker 1: I don't recall a party in Miami that she's referring to. Question,
- 24:10Speaker 1: so you never went to a party in Miami with
- 24:12Speaker 1: Glenn Maxwell? Answer, I didn't say that I never went
- 24:15Speaker 1: to the party. I just said I don't recall. Redacted
- 24:18Speaker 1: did go to a party in Miami with Glenn Maxwell. Banned,
- 24:21Speaker 1: as I said, I don't recall going to a party
- 24:24Speaker 1: in Miami. It doesn't mean I didn't go. It doesn't
- 24:27Speaker 1: mean I did go. I just don't remember it. Question,
- 24:30Speaker 1: no recollection of going to a party. What about President Clinton?
- 24:34Speaker 1: Do you ever recall him going to a party in
- 24:35Speaker 1: Miami with Glenn Maxwell? Answer, I do not. Question, okay.
- 24:42Speaker 1: And then later in the email, she talks about Epstein.
- 24:44Speaker 1: She says, J.E. coming to pick us up on the plane.
- 24:47Speaker 1: Do you recall anything about this being picked up on
- 24:49Speaker 1: a plane in Miami by Epstein? Answer, I do not
- 24:52Speaker 1: recall that, no. All right, folks, we're going to wrap
- 24:54Speaker 1: up right here. And in the next episode dealing with
- 24:56Speaker 1: the topic, we're going to pick up where we left off.
- 24:59Speaker 1: All the information that goes with this episode can be
- 25:02Speaker 1: found in the description box. What's up everyone and welcome
- 25:06Speaker 1: to another episode of the Epstein Chronicles. In this episode,
- 25:10Speaker 1: we're picking up where we left off with the Doug
- 25:12Speaker 1: Band testimony given to Congress. Question okay. And then in 2002,
- 25:18Speaker 1: I believe in the majority's hour, they briefly discussed this
- 25:21Speaker 1: visit to Epstein's townhouse with President Clinton and you said
- 25:24Speaker 1: you attended. Is that correct? Answer yes. Question okay. did
- 25:28Speaker 1: you organize this visit? Answer, I don't recall organizing it. Question,
- 25:33Speaker 1: do you remember how it came about? Answer, I do not. Question,
- 25:36Speaker 1: and at the visit, do you remember who else was
- 25:38Speaker 1: at Epstein's home? Answer, I don't remember anyone else being there. Question,
- 25:43Speaker 1: but Epstein was there himself. Answer, yes. Question, so Epstein,
- 25:48Speaker 1: President Clinton, and yourself. Answer, well, as I said, to
- 25:53Speaker 1: the best of my recollection, is walking to the house,
- 25:55Speaker 1: I stayed, walked in a few feet, stayed in the
- 25:58Speaker 1: front entryway, foyer, whatever you want to call it, holding room,
- 26:01Speaker 1: and the two of them went off into the house. Question,
- 26:04Speaker 1: so you didn't see anyone else inside the home? Answer,
- 26:07Speaker 1: I don't recall seeing anyone else in the home, no. Question, okay,
- 26:11Speaker 1: and then in 2002 as well, there was a meeting
- 26:14Speaker 1: at President Clinton's office in Harlem. Did you organize this? Answer, sorry,
- 26:18Speaker 1: when is that? Question, it was 2002. There was a
- 26:22Speaker 1: meeting at President Clinton's office in Harlem with Epstein. Answer,
- 26:26Speaker 1: I don't remember that meeting at all. Question, were you
- 26:28Speaker 1: present at that meeting? Answer, I don't remember whether I
- 26:32Speaker 1: was present or not. Question, okay. It's also our understanding
- 26:35Speaker 1: that Ghislaine Maxwell compiled a birthday book for Epstein for
- 26:38Speaker 1: his 50th birthday and that the book had letters and
- 26:41Speaker 1: notes from various friends and associates of Epstein's. President Clinton
- 26:46Speaker 1: wrote a letter for that book. Do you recall that letter?
- 26:48Speaker 1: Have you seen that letter? Answer, I do not recall
- 26:51Speaker 1: that letter. Subsequently, again, I've obviously given the press reports.
- 26:55Speaker 1: of recent years, is one I learned of the book
- 26:58Speaker 1: you're referring to, but I don't recall having any involvement
- 27:01Speaker 1: or anything to do with it, or even knowing it
- 27:03Speaker 1: existed or what was being done at the time. Question,
- 27:06Speaker 1: so Ms. Maxwell did not reach out to you about
- 27:08Speaker 1: the letter? Answer, not that I recall, no. Question, and
- 27:12Speaker 1: you weren't asked to write a letter for the book? Answer, no,
- 27:15Speaker 1: not that I recall, no. Question, okay. Last year, Ghislaine
- 27:18Speaker 1: Maxwell was interviewed by then Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanch.
- 27:23Speaker 1: And during the interview, Maxwell said that she visited the
- 27:25Speaker 1: Clintons' home in Chappaqua a couple times. Do you have
- 27:29Speaker 1: any memory or knowledge of Maxwell visiting the Clintons' home? Answer,
- 27:33Speaker 1: I do not. I have seen that interview. I believe
- 27:35Speaker 1: that's talking about 2016, 17, 18, something like that, right?
- 27:40Speaker 1: As I said, I left the president's employee in 2012.
- 27:43Speaker 1: I have no idea about any of that and nothing
- 27:46Speaker 1: to do with it. Question, so you never spoke to
- 27:49Speaker 1: anyone in the Clinton family about these visits? Answer, no.
- 27:52Speaker 1: Not that I recall, no. Redacted, are you aware of
- 27:56Speaker 1: any other visits prior to 2016? Mr. Band, I am not, no. Question, okay.
- 28:01Speaker 1: We're going to shift gears a little bit and talk
- 28:04Speaker 1: about some of the flights that you took on Epstein's
- 28:06Speaker 1: plane with President Clinton. We're going to briefly walk through those,
- 28:10Speaker 1: but before, I would just like to clarify in the
- 28:12Speaker 1: previous hour, you said that Secret Service would always accompany
- 28:15Speaker 1: President Clinton on the flights. Is that correct? Answer, yes. Question,
- 28:20Speaker 1: and he was always there on the flights on Epstein's plane,
- 28:22Speaker 1: is that correct? Secret Service was always there? Answer, Secret
- 28:26Speaker 1: Service is always with President Clinton everywhere he goes, no
- 28:30Speaker 1: matter what, yes. Question, thank you. Flight logs indicate that
- 28:34Speaker 1: on March 19th and 21st of 2002, you flew on
- 28:38Speaker 1: Epstein's plane from JFK to London and back. This is
- 28:41Speaker 1: with Epstein, Maxwell, President Clinton, and some others. What was
- 28:45Speaker 1: the purpose of that trip? Answer, I don't recall or
- 28:48Speaker 1: remember that trip at all. Question, you don't remember anything
- 28:51Speaker 1: about the trip? Answer, no. Question, you don't remember how
- 28:54Speaker 1: the trip came about? Answer, I don't. Question, was this
- 28:57Speaker 1: the first time that you flew on Epstein's plane? Answer,
- 29:00Speaker 1: I have no idea. As I said, we traveled often,
- 29:03Speaker 1: so it's difficult 25 years later, 24 years later, to
- 29:06Speaker 1: remember specific trips. Question, do you know whether this was
- 29:11Speaker 1: the first time that President Clinton flew on Epstein's plane? Answer,
- 29:15Speaker 1: I don't. Question, okay. And you don't remember anyone else
- 29:18Speaker 1: being on the trip. Answer, I don't remember the trip
- 29:21Speaker 1: at all, so no. I don't remember anyone else being
- 29:23Speaker 1: on the trip. Question, okay. Couple months later, in May
- 29:27Speaker 1: of 2002, flight logs show a series of flights in Asia.
- 29:31Speaker 1: This was also with Mr. Epstein, Maxwell, and President Clinton.
- 29:35Speaker 1: What do you recall from this trip? Answer, I don't
- 29:37Speaker 1: recall the trip at all, or anything from the trip. Question,
- 29:41Speaker 1: you don't remember being in Asia? Answer, you know again,
- 29:44Speaker 1: I understand the question and the idea that someone would
- 29:47Speaker 1: remember going to Asia. I've been to Asia many, many
- 29:49Speaker 1: times and I staffed President Clinton in Asia many times.
- 29:54Speaker 1: So I don't remember any specific trips or another or
- 29:57Speaker 1: anything from those trips really. Question understood. Is there a specific,
- 30:02Speaker 1: anything specific you remember from being on Epstein's plane, whether
- 30:05Speaker 1: it was this specific trip or other trips? Answer, you know,
- 30:09Speaker 1: as I said earlier, I just remember that the guest
- 30:11Speaker 1: sat in the front and that that was just where
- 30:14Speaker 1: I sat and hung out and went about my work
- 30:16Speaker 1: and business. But no, I don't remember anything remarkable about
- 30:20Speaker 1: the trip at all or the plane at all. Question,
- 30:23Speaker 1: do you remember any specific interaction you had on the plane,
- 30:26Speaker 1: whether that was with Maxwell, Epstein? Any of his staffers, pilots,
- 30:30Speaker 1: anything like that? Answer, no, I don't recall any of that. Question, okay,
- 30:35Speaker 1: there was another trip. This was to Morocco and Portugal.
- 30:39Speaker 1: And public reporting indicated that it was for the King
- 30:42Speaker 1: of Morocco's wedding. Do you recall that wedding? Answer, I
- 30:45Speaker 1: vaguely recall the wedding itself, yes. Question, and you attended
- 30:48Speaker 1: the wedding? Answer, President Clinton attended the wedding. Question, did
- 30:52Speaker 1: you attend the wedding? Answer, I remember staffing him for
- 30:55Speaker 1: the wedding, yes. Question, so you were there? Answer, but
- 30:58Speaker 1: I was not in. I wasn't an invited guest by
- 31:00Speaker 1: the King of Morocco to his wedding. Question understood. And
- 31:04Speaker 1: Epstein attended the wedding. Is that correct? Answer, you know, again,
- 31:07Speaker 1: I don't remember at the time what transpired other than
- 31:11Speaker 1: seeing the public reporting recently. So my memory of that
- 31:14Speaker 1: is I don't have memory of that. Obviously, having seen
- 31:17Speaker 1: the reporting of it. Question, do you recall why you
- 31:20Speaker 1: used Epstein's plane to travel to the wedding? Answer, I
- 31:23Speaker 1: don't recall why President Clinton used Epstein's plane to travel
- 31:26Speaker 1: to the wedding. question understood then there's the trip to
- 31:29Speaker 1: Africa in September of 2002 it's reported on highly and
- 31:33Speaker 1: I think has become rather infamous is there any specific
- 31:37Speaker 1: information that you remember about that trip answer I don't
- 31:40Speaker 1: remember anything specific I remember the president taking along and
- 31:43Speaker 1: inviting his guests were Chris Tucker and Kevin Spacey I
- 31:47Speaker 1: remember that being around this but again my memory is
- 31:50Speaker 1: from seeing pictures of that in recent years or before
- 31:53Speaker 1: but I don't remember anything about the trip Question. There
- 31:56Speaker 1: is a well-known photo from this trip of what looks
- 31:59Speaker 1: to be President Clinton getting a back massage from a
- 32:01Speaker 1: young woman. Is there anything you remember about that instance?
- 32:04Speaker 1: Answer no. Question. Do you remember meeting this young woman?
- 32:07Speaker 1: Answer no. Question. And you have no knowledge of what
- 32:10Speaker 1: her relationship was to Mr. Epstein? Answer no. Question. And
- 32:14Speaker 1: you had no knowledge at the time that she was
- 32:16Speaker 1: being abused by Mr. Epstein? Answer no. Question, and finally
- 32:20Speaker 1: in November of 2003, there was a trip to Russia
- 32:23Speaker 1: and China. Is there anything you remember from that trip? Answer, no,
- 32:26Speaker 1: I do not. Question, thank you. Redacted, question, Mr. Band.
- 32:31Speaker 1: We have some emails and related documents that we would
- 32:33Speaker 1: like to show you in hopes that you can provide
- 32:35Speaker 1: some context for us. I'm going to begin with one
- 32:38Speaker 1: dated October 13th of 2002 from GMAX to WJC email address.
- 32:45Speaker 1: It's Bates numbered EFTA 005 82156. This will be Minority
- 32:51Speaker 1: Exhibit B. Mr. Band, do you recall the email? Answer, no,
- 32:54Speaker 1: I do not. Question, okay. If I could direct you
- 32:57Speaker 1: to the second sentence, which reads, this is Ms. Maxwell
- 33:00Speaker 1: writing to you, as we understand. Want to make sure
- 33:03Speaker 1: that you know that lunch is on Wednesday. Is at
- 33:06Speaker 1: Bear Mini, me, you, JE plus 42. Do you have
- 33:11Speaker 1: the time for the address? Do you recall having lunch
- 33:13Speaker 1: at an establishment called Bear Mini with Mr. Epstein? Answer, no,
- 33:17Speaker 1: I do not. Question, and your understanding is, plus 42,
- 33:21Speaker 1: is a sentence referring to President Clinton? Answer again, I
- 33:25Speaker 1: don't remember the email or whether this happened or not.
- 33:28Speaker 1: 42 was how people referred to him, yes. He was
- 33:31Speaker 1: the 42nd President of the United States. And question, and
- 33:35Speaker 1: if I could refer to you, the following sentence, which reads,
- 33:38Speaker 1: need your schedule to organize your B-Day gift. Need to
- 33:41Speaker 1: know dates from now till end of October when you're
- 33:43Speaker 1: in the city and available for two hours, can be
- 33:46Speaker 1: day or night. I need rough times because we just
- 33:49Speaker 1: fill in the gaps. Did Ms. Maxwell give you a
- 33:51Speaker 1: birthday gift? Answer, not that I recall. Question, then the
- 33:55Speaker 1: phrase at the end of the sentence. We just fill
- 33:58Speaker 1: in the gap. Do you have any understanding to what
- 34:00Speaker 1: she was referring to there? Answer, I have no idea
- 34:03Speaker 1: what she's referring to. Question, no more questions on this exhibit.
- 34:08Speaker 1: I will ask a court reporter to mark Exhibit C,
- 34:10Speaker 1: an article from New York Magazine, entitled The Dish on Dinner,
- 34:14Speaker 1: dated April 25, 2003. Redacted, and while this is being
- 34:18Speaker 1: handed out, I understand that the members, or new members,
- 34:21Speaker 1: have entered the room. Eric Burleson, Lauren Boebert, and Dan,
- 34:25Speaker 1: for the record, Mr. Perry, was also present, but he
- 34:28Speaker 1: stepped out. Redacted, and where we're looking at, it's on
- 34:32Speaker 1: the second page. Question, and to be clear, I'm looking
- 34:35Speaker 1: at the paragraph that's captioned, Do you see that? Answer, uh-huh. Question,
- 34:41Speaker 1: and then two lines down below, there's a guest list
- 34:44Speaker 1: consisting of Mort Zuckerman, Google co-founder Sergey Brin, David Blaine,
- 34:48Speaker 1: Donald Trump, Leslie Wexner of the Limited, disgraced British cabinet
- 34:52Speaker 1: minister Peter Mandelson, Bill Clinton, a Doug Band. Do you
- 34:56Speaker 1: recall being at the event with those attendees? Answer, you know,
- 35:00Speaker 1: as I said earlier, I recall attending a dinner at
- 35:03Speaker 1: Epstein's house when President Clinton was also to attend the dinner.
- 35:07Speaker 1: And while I was there waiting for him, he decided
- 35:09Speaker 1: not to come. So I went to the dinner and instead,
- 35:13Speaker 1: I don't remember anything from the dinner, anything at all. Question,
- 35:16Speaker 1: do you remember any of these listed individuals being present? Answer, no,
- 35:20Speaker 1: I do not. Question, have you ever met any of
- 35:22Speaker 1: these individuals? Answer, I've met a few of them. Question,
- 35:25Speaker 1: can you identify which ones? Answer, I met Mort Zuckerman,
- 35:29Speaker 1: Sergey Brin. I met Shaq and Donald Trump. Trump's hand
- 35:33Speaker 1: at his golf course. I vaguely recall meeting Peter Mandelson
- 35:36Speaker 1: when he worked for Prime Minister Blair. He was good
- 35:38Speaker 1: friends with President Clinton. I guess you probably know a long,
- 35:41Speaker 1: long time ago when Prime Minister Blair was still Prime Minister. Question,
- 35:45Speaker 1: were you introduced to any of these individuals through Jeffrey
- 35:48Speaker 1: Epstein or Glenn Maxwell? Answer, no, I don't think so. Question,
- 35:53Speaker 1: and did you ever become aware of any of these
- 35:55Speaker 1: individuals having a relationship with Jeffrey Epstein? Answer, no, not
- 35:59Speaker 1: that I can recall or know of. Question, if I
- 36:02Speaker 1: could refer you further down in the paragraph to the
- 36:04Speaker 1: sentence that begins, at a recent dinner, do you see that?
- 36:08Speaker 1: For the record, the sentence reads, at a recent dinner
- 36:10Speaker 1: organized by Glenn Maxwell. Blaine amused a group of barely
- 36:14Speaker 1: clad models with card tricks. Alas, Clinton, around whom the
- 36:18Speaker 1: evening had been organized, never showed, though his Secret Service
- 36:21Speaker 1: would have appreciated Epstein's numerous security cameras. So my first
- 36:25Speaker 1: question is, do you recall barely clad models being present
- 36:28Speaker 1: for the dinner? Answer, no, I do not. Question, do
- 36:31Speaker 1: you recall models of any variety being present at any
- 36:34Speaker 1: of your interactions with Jeffrey Epstein? Answer, no, I do
- 36:37Speaker 1: not recall models being present. Question, does it surprise you
- 36:41Speaker 1: to read that there were barely clad models reportedly in
- 36:44Speaker 1: attendance at this event? Answer, well, I didn't write this.
- 36:49Speaker 1: I don't know. I'm just giving you the best recollection
- 36:51Speaker 1: of what I remember, what I recall. Question, nothing further
- 36:54Speaker 1: on this exhibit. All right, folks, we're going to wrap
- 36:58Speaker 1: up right here. And in the next episode dealing with
- 37:00Speaker 1: the topic, we're going to pick up where we left off.
- 37:03Speaker 1: All the information that goes with this episode can be
- 37:05Speaker 1: found in the description box. What's up, everyone? And welcome
- 37:09Speaker 1: to another episode of of the Epstein Chronicles. In this episode,
- 37:13Speaker 1: we're going to pick up where we left off with
- 37:15Speaker 1: Doug Band and his interview with Congress. Question, Mr. Band,
- 37:20Speaker 1: do you recall this email thread? Answer, no, I do not. Question,
- 37:24Speaker 1: if I could start at the bottom with the first one,
- 37:27Speaker 1: it's an email from Ms. Maxwell to you. The subject
- 37:30Speaker 1: line reads, boo-boo, one word, and the text reads, I'm
- 37:33Speaker 1: here in New York, would love to get together. J.E.
- 37:36Speaker 1: did not leave for Paris, so he's here too, and
- 37:38Speaker 1: he wants to see you solo. So popular you are.
- 37:41Speaker 1: Let me know. Looking at this email now, do you
- 37:44Speaker 1: have any understanding or recollection as to why Mr. Epstein
- 37:47Speaker 1: wanted to see you solo? Not that I recall. Question,
- 37:51Speaker 1: and then I'm going to skip up two emails. It's
- 37:53Speaker 1: email from Ms. Maxwell to you at 105618. Do you
- 37:57Speaker 1: see that one? Answer, uh-huh, yes. Question, the body reads,
- 38:00Speaker 1: I have no plans today at all, so I'm free
- 38:03Speaker 1: whenever you are. Should be here most of the week.
- 38:05Speaker 1: The thought of seeing you is getting me way, way excited.
- 38:09Speaker 1: And then your reply up above, wow, can't do today,
- 38:12Speaker 1: in C-H-A-P-P, baby cakes. My question on this exchange is simply,
- 38:19Speaker 1: you referred during the majority round to the use of
- 38:22Speaker 1: what you described, I believe, as flirtatious banter with Ms. Maxwell. Answer, uh-huh. Question,
- 38:27Speaker 1: is this an example of that sort of banter? Answer, well,
- 38:30Speaker 1: I don't remember this email or recall it in any way,
- 38:34Speaker 1: but yeah, as I said earlier, Our emails were flirtatious banter.
- 38:38Speaker 1: Nothing more. Me making my way of communicating in sort
- 38:41Speaker 1: of a silly, not funny jokes that, obviously, not ones
- 38:45Speaker 1: I expected to be read publicly before Congress 25 years
- 38:48Speaker 1: later or 22 years later. Question, nothing further on this exhibit.
- 38:53Speaker 1: I will ask the court reporter to mark as Exhibit
- 38:56Speaker 1: E what we understand to be a log of flights
- 38:59Speaker 1: on Jeffrey Epstein's private plane. Redacted, that's not the right one. Question,
- 39:08Speaker 1: after they get the right one, Mr. Band, have you
- 39:10Speaker 1: ever seen this document before? Mr. Shapiro jumps in, other
- 39:15Speaker 1: than in preparation with your counsel, you mean? Redacted either, Mr. Band.
- 39:19Speaker 1: I've only seen it, as Howard said, in preparation. Question,
- 39:22Speaker 1: if I could refer you 10 lines down, the date,
- 39:25Speaker 1: the number, 14, appears in the first column. Do you
- 39:28Speaker 1: see that entry? Answer, yes. Question, okay. And the arrival
- 39:31Speaker 1: destination is noted as CYUL, which I'll represent to you
- 39:36Speaker 1: is the airport code for Montreal. And then further down
- 39:40Speaker 1: under the column, four remarks, the letters JE appear followed
- 39:43Speaker 1: by your name, comma, then GM. Do you recall flying
- 39:47Speaker 1: to Montreal with Mr. Epstein and Ms. Maxwell? Answer, I
- 39:50Speaker 1: do not recall, no. Question, do you recall being in
- 39:53Speaker 1: Montreal with them? Answer, I don't recall being in Montreal
- 39:57Speaker 1: with them, no. Question, any reason to believe that this
- 40:00Speaker 1: entry is inaccurate as to the passengers? Answer, I don't
- 40:04Speaker 1: have any reason to believe that it's accurate or inaccurate.
- 40:07Speaker 1: I didn't write it, so I don't know. Question, and
- 40:09Speaker 1: if I could refer, you one line down, also starting
- 40:13Speaker 1: with the number 14, it records a flight from Montreal
- 40:15Speaker 1: to PBI, which is the airport code for Palm Beach. Again,
- 40:19Speaker 1: the passengers are listed as J.E., yourself, and G.M. Do
- 40:23Speaker 1: you recall flying to Montreal or from Montreal to Palm
- 40:26Speaker 1: Beach with Epstein and Maxwell? Answer, no, I do not. Question,
- 40:30Speaker 1: do you recall being in Palm Beach with them? Answer, no,
- 40:33Speaker 1: I do not recall being in Palm Beach with them
- 40:35Speaker 1: or flying with them. Question, no further questions on this document.
- 40:40Speaker 1: I'm going to ask the court reporter to mark as
- 40:42Speaker 1: Exhibit F another email thread between yourself and Ms. Maxwell
- 40:45Speaker 1: dated October 13, 2004. Bearing the Bates number EFTA 00579276. Mr. Shapiro,
- 40:55Speaker 1: could we possibly get one more over here? Question, Mr. Band.
- 40:59Speaker 1: Have you seen this email thread before? Question, I don't
- 41:02Speaker 1: recall this email, but I've seen it in preparation for today. Question,
- 41:06Speaker 1: I'm focused on the second email from the bottom from Ms.
- 41:09Speaker 1: Maxwell to you. 164829. And the body reads, okay. Hey,
- 41:14Speaker 1: is Marcy going to be working with Richard on the deal?
- 41:17Speaker 1: Does she know about the forum, etc.? If so, what
- 41:20Speaker 1: does she know? Can you give us some context here?
- 41:22Speaker 1: What deal is Ms. Maxwell referring to? Answer, I don't know. Question,
- 41:26Speaker 1: who is Marcy? Answer, I don't know that either. I
- 41:29Speaker 1: don't know who that is, who she's referring to. Question,
- 41:33Speaker 1: did you generally speaking have any discussions with Ms. Maxwell
- 41:36Speaker 1: concerning business matters? Answer, you know, I think I recall
- 41:40Speaker 1: times of talking about various projects and things like that
- 41:43Speaker 1: that she was working on or I was. I mean,
- 41:45Speaker 1: I was working for the president at the time, but
- 41:47Speaker 1: I vaguely recall having conversations with her about various things
- 41:51Speaker 1: that she was working on, but not anything specific that
- 41:55Speaker 1: I can recall. Question, what were those projects? Answer, I
- 42:00Speaker 1: don't remember any project in particular. Question, were there more
- 42:03Speaker 1: than one? Answer, I don't remember. Question to Mr. Band
- 42:06Speaker 1: for the record. I believe we spoke about this earlier.
- 42:09Speaker 1: Do you recall ever attending Jeffrey Epstein's home in New
- 42:11Speaker 1: York City without President Clinton? Band, no, I do not. Question,
- 42:16Speaker 1: any other, scratch that, Mr. Green, jumps in, other than
- 42:19Speaker 1: the dinner that he's already talked about. Ban the dinner, yeah,
- 42:22Speaker 1: you said without, sorry, you said without President Clinton. Oh,
- 42:25Speaker 1: the dinner, yeah, sorry, the dinner, yeah. Question, I'm sorry,
- 42:29Speaker 1: can you remind me of the date of that dinner? Answer,
- 42:31Speaker 1: I have no idea. I don't remember when it was
- 42:34Speaker 1: at all. Question, approximately. Answer, it was the dinner that
- 42:37Speaker 1: you referred to in the past document, so that probably
- 42:40Speaker 1: is a better reflection of the date, 2003, April 2003.
- 42:44Speaker 1: Question understood. That was Exhibit C. Mr. Shapiro, Exhibit C, yes. Redacted, great,
- 42:50Speaker 1: thank you. And just to be clear, you have no
- 42:52Speaker 1: recollection of attending Jeffrey Epstein's properties beyond the one mentioned
- 42:56Speaker 1: in Exhibit C without President Clinton? Banned. I did not,
- 43:00Speaker 1: as far as I know, or have any recollection of
- 43:02Speaker 1: attending any of his properties ever other than, as I said,
- 43:06Speaker 1: the two times I recall going to his house in
- 43:08Speaker 1: New York. Question Mr. Banned. Did Jeffrey Epstein or Glenn
- 43:12Speaker 1: Maxwell ever give you a watch? Answer, I don't remember
- 43:15Speaker 1: them giving me anything I don't recall. Question, do you
- 43:18Speaker 1: recall that being discussed? Answer, I don't. I don't recall. Question,
- 43:22Speaker 1: I'll ask the court reporter to mark as Exhibit G
- 43:25Speaker 1: an article from Dropsite News dated December 19th, 2025. Question,
- 43:31Speaker 1: take all the time you need to review the article
- 43:33Speaker 1: in its entirety. I'm going to be focused on the
- 43:35Speaker 1: eighth page. Unfortunately, it's not numbered. Redacted page 13, I believe. Banned,
- 43:41Speaker 1: 13 on the bottom right. Mr. Green, 13 of 22. Shapiro,
- 43:45Speaker 1: 13 to 22. Redacted, that's right. Page 12 has an
- 43:48Speaker 1: email exchange. We'll be reviewing that, and it reads at
- 43:51Speaker 1: the top. Have him tell her, do you see that? Mr. Band, yes. Redacted,
- 43:56Speaker 1: that's what we'll be referencing. Band, okay. Question, I'm sorry, Mr. Band.
- 44:01Speaker 1: I think my page number is different. So they get
- 44:05Speaker 1: down to the bottom of it. Question, and it contains
- 44:08Speaker 1: a copy of an email thread between, once again, yourself
- 44:11Speaker 1: and Ms. Maxwell dated... December 14th of 2005. Answer, okay. Question,
- 44:16Speaker 1: do you recall this email thread? Answer, I do not. Question,
- 44:19Speaker 1: if we can just walk through it, I'm looking at
- 44:21Speaker 1: the first email on the bottom from Ms. Maxwell to you,
- 44:24Speaker 1: which reads, any news on Audemars watch? Do you ever
- 44:28Speaker 1: recall asking or discussing an Audemars watch with Ms. Maxwell? Answer,
- 44:34Speaker 1: I do not recall discussing that with her. Question, and
- 44:38Speaker 1: then your reply up above, more concerned about lunch. Why
- 44:41Speaker 1: do you ask? If it's for you, I'll tell you.
- 44:44Speaker 1: If it's because he wants me to buy me one,
- 44:46Speaker 1: then no can do. Do you recall what you meant
- 44:49Speaker 1: when you wrote that sentence? Answer, I'm sorry, I don't.
- 44:52Speaker 1: I don't recall what I meant. I mean, you know,
- 44:54Speaker 1: sitting here today, it seems clear. If it's because he
- 44:57Speaker 1: wants to buy me one, then no, I don't. This is,
- 45:00Speaker 1: you know, it sounds out of the ordinary. President Clinton
- 45:02Speaker 1: traveled all over the world. People gave him all sorts
- 45:05Speaker 1: of things. People gave me all sorts of things all
- 45:08Speaker 1: the time. Question, do you recall receiving any gifts from
- 45:11Speaker 1: Glenn Maxwell or Jeffrey Epstein? Band, I don't recall receiving
- 45:15Speaker 1: any gifts from them. Question, and I believe we have
- 45:18Speaker 1: some questions from our members, so I'll turn it over
- 45:20Speaker 1: to Mr. Lynch. Mr. Lynch, I'll pass. Mr. Submaranium, great.
- 45:25Speaker 1: Thanks for being here today. Band, thank you. Thanks for,
- 45:28Speaker 1: thank you for being here. Question, have you ever met
- 45:32Speaker 1: Virginia Roberts? Mr. Band, not that I can recall. Question,
- 45:35Speaker 1: do you know who she is? Answer, only in reading
- 45:38Speaker 1: about her. And, you know, the reports over the past
- 45:40Speaker 1: few years. Question. Are you aware of the lawsuit she
- 45:44Speaker 1: filed against Glenn Maxwell? Answer. You know, again, I don't
- 45:48Speaker 1: vaguely just from reading about it. Question. Okay. Are you
- 45:51Speaker 1: aware you were listed as a potential witness in that lawsuit? Mr. Band, no. Question. Okay.
- 45:57Speaker 1: Do you, would you know why you might be listed
- 46:00Speaker 1: as a potential witness? Mr. Band, I have no idea. Question. Okay.
- 46:04Speaker 1: I think she says you were present on flights with
- 46:06Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein, Glenn Maxwell, and President Clinton. You may have
- 46:10Speaker 1: knowledge of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell's sex trafficking during
- 46:13Speaker 1: those interactions with minors. What would you say to that?
- 46:17Speaker 1: Or what are your thoughts on her saying that? Mr. Band, sorry,
- 46:21Speaker 1: who is her? Question, Maxwell, answer, that I'm on her witness,
- 46:27Speaker 1: that I would be a witness for her? Question for
- 46:31Speaker 1: her lawsuit, yeah. Answer for the woman's lawsuit? Mr. Green,
- 46:35Speaker 1: I'm sorry, do you mind repeating the question again? Mr. Band,
- 46:38Speaker 1: I'm confused, yeah, sorry. Submarinium, oh yeah, Ghislaine Maxwell. Banned,
- 46:42Speaker 1: she's filing a lawsuit. Submarinium, so she's deceased now. This
- 46:46Speaker 1: was 10 years ago that she filed the lawsuit. Green, yeah, Ms.
- 46:50Speaker 1: Roberts filed the lawsuit against Ms. Maxwell. Shapiro, not Ghislaine Maxwell, Ms. Roberts. Submarinium,
- 46:56Speaker 1: I'm sorry, yeah. Well, and in the deposition, Alan Dershowitz
- 47:00Speaker 1: said that you and he discussed the allegations that were
- 47:03Speaker 1: in that lawsuit filed by Virginia. Is that true? Mr. Banned,
- 47:07Speaker 1: I don't recall. I don't recall having any conversation with
- 47:10Speaker 1: Alan Dershowitz. Question. Oh, okay. Did you ever talk to
- 47:13Speaker 1: Alan Dershowitz about Jeffrey Epstein or Glenn Maxwell? Banned. No,
- 47:17Speaker 1: not that I recall. I don't know him very well.
- 47:20Speaker 1: He was part of the President Clinton sort of vineyard
- 47:22Speaker 1: friend group. And when he was president, so I met
- 47:24Speaker 1: with him there. Question. Did you ever talk about President
- 47:28Speaker 1: Clinton to Jeffrey Epstein and Glenn Maxwell? Banned about them.
- 47:32Speaker 1: I don't recall any specific conversations about it. No. Question. Okay.
- 47:37Speaker 1: And in an email exchange between you and Glenn Maxwell,
- 47:40Speaker 1: she invited you to dinner with people named Lily, quote, unquote,
- 47:42Speaker 1: your bro, and Andrew. Do you recall what dinner that was? Banned,
- 47:46Speaker 1: I do not. Submaranium, do you know who Lily might be? Banned,
- 47:50Speaker 1: my wife's named Lily. Submaranium, okay. Do you know who
- 47:53Speaker 1: your bro might be? Banned, I don't. Question, do you
- 47:56Speaker 1: know who Andrew might be? Banned, I don't. Submaranium, could
- 48:00Speaker 1: it possibly be Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor? Banned, I didn't write it,
- 48:04Speaker 1: I don't know. Question, yeah. Do you know who? I mean,
- 48:07Speaker 1: have you ever met Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor? Banned. I have a
- 48:10Speaker 1: vague recollection of meeting him. He was friends with President Clinton,
- 48:13Speaker 1: and President Clinton visited Buckingham Palace a few times when
- 48:17Speaker 1: he was president. And I recall seeing him around, but
- 48:19Speaker 1: nothing specific. I just have a memory of meeting him,
- 48:23Speaker 1: but I don't know when or where. Submeranium, okay. Glaine
- 48:27Speaker 1: Maxwell also sent you an email with Tom Barak's information.
- 48:31Speaker 1: Do you recall remembering why you asked for this information,
- 48:34Speaker 1: or if you asked for this information? And I don't
- 48:37Speaker 1: recall the email or asking for it. Submeranium, okay, I
- 48:41Speaker 1: think that's all I have. All right, folks, we're going
- 48:44Speaker 1: to wrap up right here. And in the next episode,
- 48:46Speaker 1: we're going to pick up where we left off. All
- 48:48Speaker 1: the information that goes with this episode can be found
- 48:51Speaker 1: in the description box.
