- 0:00Coming up today on mini scroll therapy, Jeff is facing backlash
- 0:03over content he's been posting on threads.
- 0:06Alex Cooper's husband is being accused of yelling at and
- 0:09berating staff at the unwell network.
- 0:12Kendall Jenner and Jacob Allordy are reportedly dating and the
- 0:16secret lives of Mormon wives OC edition has announced an
- 0:19influencer failed cast list. Hi everyone, welcome to Mini

- 0:48into the whole emigre situation. I will have her book read.
- 0:52I will talk about kind of the backlash that she's facing
- 0:55online for some of the sound bites coming out of her book

- 1:01everything in between. And Monday is actually a public
- 1:04holiday here in Australia. I know there are so many public

- 1:46I have for you guys today is therapy.
- 1:49Jeff is facing backlash for content that he's been posting
- 1:53on threads. So therapy Jeff is possibly one
- 1:55of the biggest therapist content creators on social media right
- 1:59now. He's based in Portland, OR, and
- 2:01he has a following of over 3,000,000 on TikTok and 1.5
- 2:04million on Instagram where he shares content about mental
- 2:07health and dating. Over the past few days, he's
- 2:09been facing a lot of criticism over some content that he's been
- 2:12posting on Threads. I truly hate to platform
- 2:15Threads. You guys know Threads is like
- 2:16the depths of hell. It is slop on top of slop
- 2:21usually, but sometimes shit goes down on threads.
- 2:25OK, so it all started when he responded earlier this week to a
- 2:28question posted by famous intimacy expert Shan Boudrem.
- 2:32Shan had posted this question on threads Men and people with
- 2:35penises only. What's your favorite hand job
- 2:37technique as a receiver? If you guys don't want to hear
- 2:40somebody detail their sexual preferences, you can skip ahead.
- 2:45And Jeff on his public verified account responded with this.
- 2:49There's technique, but honestly, a lot of it is the whole vibe.
- 2:52If you're leaning over me, looking a little wrecked and
- 2:55hungry for an acting confident, playful and a little bossy, that
- 2:58really does it for me. Technique wise, the tip is the
- 3:02how sensitive and pleasurable, so tease that spot for a while.
- 3:06Run your full hand over it a few times.
- 3:08When I start getting close, move faster and focus on the tip even
- 3:11more when I'm done. It's fun to see you feeling
- 3:14really pleased with yourself. And then he posted again and
- 3:17wrote. Also don't forget to tickle the
- 3:20butt hole and or lick and kiss around the base.
- 3:23So the reaction to this is very divided.
- 3:27There's a lot of outrage given he's still a practicing
- 3:31therapist as far as we know, and he was using his professional
- 3:35account with his like full face full name, verified account to
- 3:40post this. And the outrage around this is
- 3:43more coming from the perspective of professionalism.
- 3:45Like how would you feel if you were one of his clients and you
- 3:49saw your therapist post something like that?
- 3:51As someone who goes to therapy myself, my mom's also a
- 3:53therapist as well. I would personally never go to a
- 3:56therapist who is an influencer to begin with.
- 3:58To be fair, I feel like I am not comfortable with seeing my
- 4:03therapist or like knowing my therapist and in in details
- 4:06about their life and stuff outside of the context of our
- 4:08professional relationship like in their office if that makes
- 4:11sense. And I personally especially
- 4:13would not want to know about their sexual preferences.
- 4:16But I can also understand that not everyone might feel as
- 4:19strongly about that and maybe open to therapists who do have
- 4:22public platforms or who are more like open about their personal
- 4:25lives online and things like that.
- 4:26Like just for me personally, I wouldn't want that.
- 4:29So when I was reading this I was like Oh my God.
- 4:32Like picturing my therapist being like that would send me
- 4:36off the deep end. I would be so not OK with that.
- 4:39However, there actually are a large group of people online who
- 4:41feel like this outrage around the post is indicative of how
- 4:45prude our culture has become. We see countless headlines all
- 4:48the time, and a lot of it's backed up by research that young
- 4:51people aren't having sex. Purity culture's on the rise.
- 4:53No one's partying. Gen.
- 4:55Zed thinks sex scenes and movies are unnecessary.
- 4:57Like there's just no room anymore in culture for like that
- 5:00messy humanity that makes life fun.
- 5:04My personal opinion is that the people who are outraged by this
- 5:08are not being anti sex or prude. It's more like shock and
- 5:12confusion as to why he would post this on his public profile
- 5:16and why he thought it would be appropriate when he knows his
- 5:19clients may see this. OK so that was one part of the
- 5:22story. And then the criticism was
- 5:24amplified when a day or two later he posted this on threads.
- 5:27And trigger warning, I am going to be talking about rape, sexual
- 5:31assault, sexual violence, he wrote.
- 5:33Quote, is there no dedicated national helpline for men who
- 5:36are scared they might sexually assault their partner?
- 5:39Or for anyone for that matter? Like if they're experiencing an
- 5:42urge and are worried their fantasies are turning into
- 5:44plans, who can they call immediately?
- 5:47I'm asking because I posted content about men having these
- 5:50fantasies and what to do about them.
- 5:52And I wanted to end it with something like, if you're a man
- 5:55experiencing these thoughts or urges, please call.
- 5:58But I can't find anything. All right, so the timing of this
- 6:01post is particularly, I mean, the timing of this post is
- 6:04always going to be bad, but the timing of this post right now is
- 6:07particularly bad given the rape Academy report that just came
- 6:11out. I'm sure most of you guys have
- 6:12seen this, but a few weeks ago CNN released an investigation
- 6:15that, quote, exposed a Global Rape Academy, an online forum
- 6:19that millions of men have visited where they encourage
- 6:22others to drug and assault their wives and swap tips on how to do
- 6:25it and how to get away with it. Now the main concern with Jeff's
- 6:29post is that victims of assault and sexual violence so rarely
- 6:33get the support that they need. And now this licensed therapist
- 6:36who has a ginormous platform of millions who look up to him as a
- 6:40source of advice and truth in some regard around like mental
- 6:45health and these topics like using his professional account
- 6:50to ask for support for men who want to commit these acts.
- 6:53Plus, it does feel like a fundamental misunderstanding of
- 6:56why men commit sexual violence in general.
- 6:59It is not because they're having like, fantasies and urges.
- 7:01We know it's about power mostly. So here are some of the replies
- 7:05to his post Stephen Hofstetter wrote they actually made a
- 7:09shortcut for a helpline like that.
- 7:11You just dial 9 and then one and then one.
- 7:15Cold Case Kansas wrote there have actually been calls made to
- 7:18911 where someone was worried they were going to hurt their
- 7:20partner. A parent was worried they were
- 7:22going to hurt their child. Intervention occurs.
- 7:25No, not arrest. We try to find a safe alternate
- 7:27place. See if you need mental health
- 7:29services. Doctor BF Palmer wrote that's
- 7:31because sexually assaulting people is not a compulsion or a
- 7:34mental illness. It's a choice.
- 7:36There are no national help lines for criminal behaviors like
- 7:39murder, robbery, or arson. This idea that there should be a
- 7:42helpline for men supports the narrative that sexual violence
- 7:45is innate in men. It's not.
- 7:46There is no drive to violate others.
- 7:49Men are taught to make horrible choices.
- 7:51Invest in early anti misogyny education and initiatives, and
- 7:54change rape laws to address systemic misogyny, Dr. Nischelle
- 7:58Hayes wrote. As a fellow mental health
- 7:59professional, I dot dot dot dot I'm at a loss for words.
- 8:03The best two I can muster are fuck no and this is a TikTok
- 8:07from a user named Control Code Book.
- 8:10The root of grape, I don't want to say these words because I
- 8:15don't want to get banned by the platform, is not male fantasy.
- 8:22The roots are desire for power and control, social and cultural
- 8:27factors, dehumanization and entitlement.
- 8:32The same entitlement that would never call a hotline to begin
- 8:35with but post about needing 1 completely stripping women and
- 8:40men and children from the frame that deserve to be centered in
- 8:45the conversation. And not only that, the majority
- 8:49of the people that staff the hotlines, at least the type of
- 8:54hotline that I staffed, are by women.
- 8:57And we can only imagine where this sort of hotline would go.
- 9:01It would quickly be abused, just like the Rape Crisis hotline
- 9:06that I was trained to answer calls on was also frequently
- 9:11abused. And here it is, centering his
- 9:15needs, his desires, his fantasies, while completely
- 9:20obliterating the people, women, men, children that this whole
- 9:26conversation is predicated on to begin with, who deserve to be
- 9:31centered. So off the back of these things,
- 9:33there's now all these screenshots circulating from
- 9:35older threads, posts where people are noting that he may
- 9:38have been posting kind of like bizarre or inappropriate advice
- 9:41for a long time. And this is also sparked a bunch
- 9:44of women who allegedly live in the Portland area who say they
- 9:47knew about Therapy Jeff's weird behavior for a long time.
- 9:50So a woman named Carly Simone wrote watching people finally
- 9:53realize therapy Jeff is creepy with questionable takes is so
- 9:56validating. As someone who had one session
- 9:58with him tennis years ago and got the ick immediately.
- 10:01Trust your intuition always. And then paper and smoke on
- 10:04threads responded to this and said the streets have been
- 10:06talking about therapy Jeff for years.
- 10:08He's been posted multiple times in the Portland We are Dating
- 10:11the Same Guy group with horrendous feedback and some
- 10:14people who lived in his apartment complex were posting
- 10:17about what a piece of shit he was years ago.
- 10:19I'm honestly shocked it took this long to reach a bigger
- 10:21audience. All right, the next story that I
- 10:23have for you guys today is I'm going to cover the Bloomberg
- 10:27expose piece on Matt Kaplan, who is Alex Cooper's husband and the
- 10:31Co CEO of the Unwell Network. Bloomberg dropped an expose a
- 10:35couple days ago into the Unwell Network that accused Matt Kaplan
- 10:38of yelling at and berating staff at the company.
- 10:41Like I said, Matt Kaplan is Alex Cooper's husband.
- 10:44He's a Hollywood producer and they met in 2020 on a Zoom
- 10:47meeting. They got married in April 2024
- 10:50and they started the media parent company Trending
- 10:52Together, and the Unwell Network is underneath that company.
- 10:56So this piece came out. And according to anonymous
- 10:58sources, Kaplan is often loud and confrontational with
- 11:01employees, prompting some crew members to threaten to quit or
- 11:04refuse to work on film sets or tours unless his behavior
- 11:07changes. One production worker reportedly
- 11:10became emotional on set amid A heated exchange with him, and
- 11:13the report claims that Kaplan has been accused of frequently
- 11:16yelling at staff members. Insiders say the tension came to
- 11:19a head during production of The Unwell Winter Games, which as we
- 11:23know is like the YouTube series that has a bunch of influencers
- 11:26and has already had its fair share of drama in terms of the
- 11:29casting choices. When Kaplan allegedly berated
- 11:32staff and warned that mistakes could damage their future
- 11:35careers in Hollywood, formal staff complaints were allegedly
- 11:38filed and some employees demanded improvements and how
- 11:42leadership interacts with them. And we actually did see a
- 11:44glimmer of this in Alex Cooper's documentary on Hulu, Call Her
- 11:48Alex. When a production manager
- 11:50threatened to quit and in the dock, Matt Kaplan said that it
- 11:53was due to demanding work schedule.
- 11:55But sources are claiming that's not the truth.
- 11:58It's because of like the workplace environment and
- 12:00there's also several senior executives that have left the
- 12:03unwell network over the past like year or two, which is
- 12:06making people side eye this whole story like even more
- 12:08making them wonder maybe there's actually some truth to this.
- 12:11OK, so like, am I surprised that a rich and powerful white man in
- 12:16Hollywood is possibly a tyrant and a nightmare to work for?
- 12:20No. However, the timing of this
- 12:23piece is interesting since we were all talking about how weird
- 12:27it was that Alex Cooper decided to like, ignite this feud with
- 12:30Alex Earl after she had stayed silent for so long.
- 12:33Alex Earl had been like poking and poking and prodding at her
- 12:36with all of these reposts and all of these shady comments for
- 12:38months and months and months. And then Alex Earl hadn't posted
- 12:41anything in maybe what, like 2 weeks or something like that?
- 12:44And then Alex Cooper just drops this random TikTok.
- 12:46And we were all saying like, the timing is strange.
- 12:49So of course now people are like, is that because they knew
- 12:52this piece was coming out? Obviously articles like this can
- 12:54take a long time to produce. They would have been given
- 12:57option to respond. And so maybe they knew this was
- 13:00coming out. And Alex V Alex has been like a
- 13:02great distraction. Also, as I said before, the
- 13:05whole Alex V Alex thing really blew up the past couple of
- 13:08weeks. The sentiment around Alex Cooper
- 13:11was becoming increasingly negative.
- 13:13She was starting to develop a bit of a reputation problem, I
- 13:16would say, like just in terms of like the general public and how
- 13:18people were talking about her online.
- 13:20And then obviously with this Alex V Alex stuff, people are
- 13:23largely, I wouldn't say like they're on her side, but I think
- 13:26it's making her look better. Like I think a lot of people are
- 13:28seeing her in a different light based on all of the opinions
- 13:31flying around about Alex V Alex. What I don't like about this
- 13:35situation is how Alex Cooper is kind of being blamed for her
- 13:39husband's alleged bad behavior. I think we see so much of that,
- 13:43I mean, in like life, but especially in the entertainment
- 13:46industry. However, I also understand
- 13:48because it is her name and it's her brand on the door.
- 13:51So at the end of the day, the onus does need to fall on her to
- 13:54an extent to protect her employees and her company.
- 13:57I know I also haven't really covered more about what Brianna
- 13:59Chicken Fry has been saying, but she made that big podcast
- 14:02episode where she's saying, like, I know what Alex Earl is
- 14:05sitting on. And I don't think that Alex
- 14:07Cooper knows what Alex Earl is getting on.
- 14:09That's what Brianna Chicken Fries been saying.
- 14:11And she's like, just because Alex Cooper says there's no NDA,
- 14:14like doesn't mean there's not. So I don't know you guys.
- 14:17I need to know what Brianna thinks Alex Earl is sitting on.
- 14:19That's what I need to know. OK, the next story that I have
- 14:22for you guys today, this is a quick one, but there are reports
- 14:24everywhere that Kendall Jenner and Jacob Allordy are dating and
- 14:28have been dating for the past couple of months.
- 14:31So rumors started circulating when they were spotted together
- 14:33Coachella weekend one. But now sources are allegedly
- 14:36confirming to all these different outlets, entertainment
- 14:39outlets that I would say are pretty legit like People and TMZ
- 14:42and stuff like that. So they were apparently set up
- 14:45by Kylie. Quote, Kylie was around Jacob a
- 14:47lot during Timothy Chalamet's award season marathon because
- 14:50Jacob was nominated for Frankenstein and Timothy was
- 14:52nominated for Marty Supreme. The source explained Kylie liked
- 14:55him and thought he would be good for Kenny.
- 14:57So she was like, girl, get on it.
- 14:59Date this guy already Jacob Allordy just really out here
- 15:01dating every single girl and he just keeps like climbing the
- 15:04rungs, you know what I mean he goes from like C Lister to like
- 15:08B Lister to A Lister like he's really just like climbing his
- 15:12way to the top and I'm happy for him I'm happy he's making his
- 15:16dreams come true. All right the last word that I
- 15:18have for you guys today. Normally, a casting would not be
- 15:22a very mini scroll story, but the new cast of the secret lives
- 15:26of Mormon wives OC spinoff has been announced and it is filled
- 15:30with influencers who we frequently discuss here.
- 15:33So there will be a California spinoff of secret lives of
- 15:36Mormon wives. We've known about that for a
- 15:38while, but now the cast members have been announced.
- 15:40There were questions about how many of the OG cast members
- 15:43would be on it and it seems seems like Jen Affleck will be
- 15:45the only OG one who is like a mainstay cast member.
- 15:48I'm sure we will get appearances from like Macy and Michaela and
- 15:51stuff. However, Jen apparently is like
- 15:53actually cast on the show so she's the only OG one.
- 15:55And then we have Aspen Ovard. You guys, my best friend and I
- 16:00were texting about this. Losing our minds because Aspen
- 16:04Ovard an OG YouTube starring on a reality show when she has had
- 16:09so much stuff happened in her life over the past couple of
- 16:11years and we have all been dying to know.
- 16:12And she like teases it, but like doesn't really tell us anything.
- 16:14It's like what happened with Parker?
- 16:16What happened with Parker's mom? What is going on with your
- 16:19throuple? Like I need to know this tea.
- 16:22So yes, I'm so excited to see Aspen.
- 16:24I really hope that she's not like such a big poll that she
- 16:28gets away with not really sharing very much.
- 16:29I kind of fear that might be the case because I do not agree with
- 16:32the fact that like, if you are joining a reality show, like you
- 16:34have to put it all out there. I, I still believe you should be
- 16:37able to keep like certain things private, but I think for the
- 16:40most part, you should be, you should be required to share
- 16:44what's actually going on in your life.
- 16:46Bobby Altoff as we know, Tik toker podcaster, possible
- 16:51industry plant. I don't think she's an industry
- 16:53plant, but I remember when her podcast launched, she had, she
- 16:55had all these like ginormous a listers on it and people were
- 16:58like literally how? And also as we know, she's
- 17:01Drake's OB, so I think that'll be interesting.
- 17:04She's been going through it. She's also very like honest on
- 17:07Tiktok, so I think she will be good for a reality show.
- 17:10Avery Woods influencer Cheers podcast.
- 17:15Also her podcast is under unwell.
- 17:17I think it's still under unwell. It was.
- 17:19She's also really close with big names like Aspen and Jaclyn
- 17:22Hill. Oh my God I would pass away if
- 17:24there was a Jaclyn Hill cameo. Not because I love Jaclyn Hill,
- 17:29but she's just like such an iconic OG figure in Internet
- 17:32culture. That would be very cool to see
- 17:35her on the show. Salome Andrea.
- 17:37So she's a creator who lives between Utah and Cali.
- 17:40Again, Influencer creator vibes. McCall Dipran who is the sister
- 17:44of Macy who is obviously on the OG secret lives of Mormon wives
- 17:48series. So it's giving like Neppo's
- 17:49sister Ashley Peace and Chandler Hickinson.
- 17:52I did not know that all of these people were connected to the
- 17:57Mormon culture. I'm interested to see how
- 18:00connected they are because even with the original show we know a
- 18:02lot of them are ex Mormon or just like ingratiated in like
- 18:06Utah culture but not necessarily still Mormon themselves.
- 18:09And I'm interested to see how many of these people are
- 18:12actually LDSI know Aspen's not. I think she just grew up in
- 18:15Utah, right? Bobby?
- 18:17I did not know, but maybe that was like part of her initial
- 18:19lore. I didn't follow her like back in
- 18:22the day when she used to. What did she do?
- 18:24She used to like call her kids by like really funny names like
- 18:28rock and stone or something like I don't know.
- 18:31It was really, really funny when she was like first posting on
- 18:35TikTok. I wasn't really following her.
- 18:37So maybe she used to talk more about that.
- 18:38But yeah, I guess we'll see. I am really excited for this
- 18:41though. My friend was like TV is finally
- 18:44catching up like casting OG Youtubers on a reality show like
- 18:47this is iconic. So I'm really excited.
- 18:50Anyways guys, that's it for mini scroll today.
- 18:52Thank you. So, so much for listening.
- 18:54I love you guys. Please remember to rate, review
- 18:56and subscribe. Please Spotify star rate US.
- 18:58It helps us so much. It helps us grow.
- 19:00And I will talk to you guys tomorrow for a Friday mini deep
- 19:03dive. Bye.
