- 0:03Speaker 1: This is a podcast called twenty five whist stocking full
- 0:08Speaker 1: and they whist. So yet too fat. But what didn't
- 0:12Speaker 1: you expect? It's a podcast called twenty five whistles, everybody,
- 0:20Speaker 1: presented by draft Kings Sports Book. This is twenty five whistles,
- 0:23Speaker 1: draftking sports book and official sports betting partner of the NFL.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Download the draft kings APP and used the code Bobby
- 0:29Speaker 1: Sports to get in on the action. Mike, Legally, what
- 0:32Speaker 1: can I not say anymore? You can't say bet whatever
- 0:34Speaker 1: I say and be rich legally. Well, somebody go to jail. Hey,
- 0:38Speaker 1: but that's kind of true, though. Mike was like, Hey,
- 0:41Speaker 1: this is what you can't say anymore. Like save it.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Tell us all together so we all know what we
- 0:46Speaker 1: can't say, or mostly you guys could just be like
- 0:47Speaker 1: you can't say that. All right, but to be fair,
- 0:51Speaker 1: if I'm being legally accurate, I'm tending. Oh, you would
- 0:56Speaker 1: be rich. You're saying it again. No, I'm saying it's sorry, sorry,
- 1:01Speaker 1: it's a good point, so I will no longer say that.
- 1:04Speaker 1: And it's not also not how I feel right. I
- 1:05Speaker 1: say that kidding, because I usually I am. I'm too
- 1:08Speaker 1: to know. I can't believe it. I'm not saying that
- 1:10Speaker 1: in a bragging way, but I need to say as
- 1:11Speaker 1: many times as possible because after this week it ain't
- 1:13Speaker 1: gonna happen anymore. If you've bet with me, I'm not
- 1:16Speaker 1: gonna say it. You had more smiles than frowns. Is
- 1:20Speaker 1: that Legal Mike? Uh, you've had asked him, asked the lawyer.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Can I say if you bet with me, you'll have
- 1:25Speaker 1: more smiles and it sounds pretty good. It's harmless. Yeah, alright,
- 1:29Speaker 1: kick off, Kevin, whist lesson and we'll get start with
- 1:31Speaker 1: episode eight. That's a really, really weird that's Jordan Davis,
- 1:35Speaker 1: half whistle like the player wouldn't even stop that whistle.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Wou'd have been like, was that a whistle fan? So again,
- 1:42Speaker 1: big thanks to Jordan Davis, who did the whole show
- 1:44Speaker 1: with us and was really good. Not that I didn't
- 1:47Speaker 1: expect him to be good, but he would like it
- 1:50Speaker 1: was really good and just hung out and talked and
- 1:53Speaker 1: new sports and that's pretty cool. Yeah, big shout out
- 1:57Speaker 1: to to Jordan Davis and again thanks to drafting sports
- 1:59Speaker 1: book for for being, you know, the reason we get
- 2:02Speaker 1: to do this. All right, warm up question. What is
- 2:04Speaker 1: your favorite sports movie of all time. Let's go first
- 2:08Speaker 1: to Eddie, Eddie, producer, Eddie here, and let me tell you,
- 2:11Speaker 1: this is a no brainer for me. When it's on TV,
- 2:13Speaker 1: I stop what I'm doing and I'm watching field of dreams.
- 2:16Speaker 1: I love field of dreams since the first time I've
- 2:19Speaker 1: seen it, and I've probably seen her about two hundred times. Yeah,
- 2:21Speaker 1: I like field dreams a lot. I just it's a
- 2:23Speaker 1: bit dated. Now, what do you mean? I don't know.
- 2:26Speaker 1: It just feels like it takes place in the you know,
- 2:28Speaker 1: like these. How it looks. I agree. I like sots
- 2:31Speaker 1: are from the twenties, dude, so outdated. It started outdated.
- 2:35Speaker 1: The Black Sox is him flashing back. He's not actually
- 2:38Speaker 1: in that era. Joe Jackson. He even asked, is this heaven? No,
- 2:42Speaker 1: it's Iowa. I've seen we've all seen it, and it's
- 2:45Speaker 1: really good. I love it. Man, Hey, Mike, what do
- 2:50Speaker 1: you think best sports movie of All Time? Mine is
- 2:52Speaker 1: a recent one. Mine is uncut gems, about sports betting. Man,
- 2:56Speaker 1: I tell you, I didn't love it. Oh, I loved it.
- 2:58Speaker 1: The anxiety of that movie gave me is one of
- 3:00Speaker 1: the best feelings I've had watching a movie in the
- 3:02Speaker 1: last five years. Incredible movie. I liked it, but I
- 3:05Speaker 1: think I expected to love it and didn't really love it.
- 3:09Speaker 1: And I like sports, I like sports betting in bet
- 3:11Speaker 1: with me more smiles and frowns. I've never seen it.
- 3:13Speaker 1: So what he's like? Gets himself Mike, explain it to Eddie.
- 3:17Speaker 1: He is keeps getting in more and more trouble as
- 3:19Speaker 1: he makes bigger and bigger bets. Yeah, and it escalates
- 3:22Speaker 1: very quick. It's you with your wife, but on a
- 3:24Speaker 1: lower scale. Bets Kickoff, Kevin. Best Sports Movie? My favorite
- 3:30Speaker 1: is Friday night lights. I think it brings a little
- 3:32Speaker 1: bit of everything. Reminds me of some high school days
- 3:35Speaker 1: and you got to ups the downs, the partying, the
- 3:37Speaker 1: lifestyle and the acting is unreal. So that's it for me,
- 3:41Speaker 1: Friday Night Lights. Adam, my favorite of all time is
- 3:45Speaker 1: the water boy, and I know, I know, that's not cool,
- 3:49Speaker 1: but that was one of the first sports movies that
- 3:51Speaker 1: I ever just fell in love with, because I was
- 3:52Speaker 1: in the eighth grade and thought everything Adam Sandley did
- 3:55Speaker 1: was hilarious. Yeah, I thought about going with cool runnings
- 3:58Speaker 1: because that's just a good and it's forts and jam
- 4:03Speaker 1: and then Rudy's obviously strong, just solid, but I think
- 4:07Speaker 1: in the end I'm going with rocky. I mean, well,
- 4:10Speaker 1: that's the ultimate just half. I mean Rudy was up there, though,
- 4:14Speaker 1: filled a dream, uh, a League of their own. It
- 4:17Speaker 1: is also really good because it's somewhat historical. I mean,
- 4:20Speaker 1: Madonna did play baseball professionally in the twenties, yes, but
- 4:26Speaker 1: I really like philled to dreams too, when Tom Hanks,
- 4:28Speaker 1: of course. But I'M gonna go with rocky. Just which
- 4:31Speaker 1: rocky your favorite? If I had to pick one, because
- 4:34Speaker 1: there's so cliche, it's four. It's the most cliche answer.
- 4:37Speaker 1: It's the most Americanized. Somebody dies, somebody fights for his honor,
- 4:42Speaker 1: the Russians the bad guy. It's very much that. I
- 4:46Speaker 1: liked four the best. Uh, two was good, you know,
- 4:50Speaker 1: I was. I had to watch it because to rocky
- 4:52Speaker 1: finally wins one. Yeah, one was shot cheaper and he lost,
- 4:58Speaker 1: didn't he in one? No, I think was the draw.
- 5:01Speaker 1: That's why they rematched. Apolo just kept the built. Maybe
- 5:04Speaker 1: that's why I thought I was young. I thought keep, yeah,
- 5:08Speaker 1: for sure, but yeah, probably four. And then they got
- 5:11Speaker 1: kind of bad. Whenever. What was the blond guy's name,
- 5:14Speaker 1: Tommy Gun, Oh, Tommy the machine guns. What's his real name?
- 5:18Speaker 1: Tommy Morrison. Tommy Morrison. When Tommy Morrison was acting in
- 5:21Speaker 1: it and he was a very good actor and they
- 5:23Speaker 1: were like fighting each other in the alley, I was like,
- 5:26Speaker 1: you know, Rocky's kind of jumped the all shark, but
- 5:27Speaker 1: then it came back. I like to I like to find.
- 5:29Speaker 1: I like the new ones too. You like the Balboas
- 5:31Speaker 1: and the creeds? Yeah, I do like the creeds. Okay,
- 5:35Speaker 1: that that's that's your one. Hold on real quick. The
- 5:37Speaker 1: BALBOAS and the creeds or whatever, like Dragos. There's one
- 5:41Speaker 1: right where Drago is still not over it and he's
- 5:44Speaker 1: still pissed and like dude because his son. Yeah, I
- 5:46Speaker 1: get it, but you guys are like seventy, now get
- 5:48Speaker 1: over it. Yeah, but Drago is poor and like his
- 5:52Speaker 1: life isn't going well. Was Rocky? No, wait a minute,
- 5:54Speaker 1: but he never had a shot because he felt like
- 5:56Speaker 1: he was screwed over by the federation, the Russian Federation.
- 5:59Speaker 1: I would be resentful to you really thought about this. Well,
- 6:03Speaker 1: right when you said that, but I was I remember
- 6:04Speaker 1: watching it feeling bad for Drago because, I mean, he
- 6:07Speaker 1: was just a young, uneducated guy that Russia had trained
- 6:12Speaker 1: to be a great boxer and they didn't do him right.
- 6:15Speaker 1: They gave him every resource, but it was only these
- 6:17Speaker 1: quick resources and he lost and then they kind of
- 6:20Speaker 1: discarded him. He's not a loser. All right, you convinced me.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Now I get I'd best and I felt and his
- 6:25Speaker 1: son was in one of the creeds and I felt
- 6:30Speaker 1: bad for him and he's like getting his son up.
- 6:32Speaker 1: He's like come on, but I felt bad for for Dragon.
- 6:35Speaker 1: But now they're going to do that series two drago
- 6:38Speaker 1: versus creed. No, just dragon or just just that fly him,
- 6:42Speaker 1: that family now, so that'd be pretty cool. All right,
- 6:44Speaker 1: let's hit that old old tattle. Here we go. Remember,
- 6:56Speaker 1: if you don't agree, you have the right to blow
- 6:58Speaker 1: your whistle, I think, because we've done in seven episodes now, Kevin,
- 7:02Speaker 1: we've made you be like the unbiased sports reporter. If
- 7:06Speaker 1: you disagree, you can blow your freaking because you have many.
- 7:10Speaker 1: So you know we're unleash in the dragons. Okay, go ahead.
- 7:15Speaker 1: We'll kick it off back in the Seattle. Monday night,
- 7:18Speaker 1: Russell Wilson played there his return. There's a lot of
- 7:21Speaker 1: booze going on. Do you agree with those booze or disagree?
- 7:23Speaker 1: I just generally agree with booing. Okay with it. You
- 7:26Speaker 1: paid a ticket. I don't like booing if somebody or
- 7:29Speaker 1: cheering either way, somebody's hurt or something like human. But
- 7:32Speaker 1: it's a it's theatric. Sports is theatrics. You can't shoot
- 7:36Speaker 1: fireworks and have a jumbotron and have big announcers and
- 7:38Speaker 1: make it as theatrical as possible and then not allow
- 7:40Speaker 1: theatrics from the fans. So I'm I was surprised that
- 7:44Speaker 1: boot as hard as they did and I probably wouldn't
- 7:47Speaker 1: have bood. But yeah, I'm cool. I'm cool with booing,
- 7:49Speaker 1: like you paid a ticket, as long as you're not
- 7:51Speaker 1: yelling curse words about the coach's wife. There are absolutely limits.
- 7:55Speaker 1: You should not, you know, hit and go beyond. But yeah,
- 7:59Speaker 1: I'm going. I'm not wrong. And he did ask for
- 8:01Speaker 1: a trade, let's not forget, and he is known as
- 8:04Speaker 1: a difficult person to deal with. So all good. I
- 8:08Speaker 1: mean Edward is coming on and we interviewed him and
- 8:10Speaker 1: he's awesome, and we talk about Russell Wilson and he
- 8:13Speaker 1: was there in Seattle. Want to happen, but I don't
- 8:15Speaker 1: have a problem with booing. It's a it's theater, so
- 8:19Speaker 1: boo away. Question. If you're Russell Wilson, do you get
- 8:22Speaker 1: your feelings hurt when they boo or you kind of
- 8:24Speaker 1: just has feelings? Really, he's a human. I think he's very, very,
- 8:28Speaker 1: very very sensitive about some things, but he's also like
- 8:31Speaker 1: a robot and roam things. It's it's a weird situation.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Ms Odd and I don't he he's odd. Yes, we
- 8:39Speaker 1: don't know much about him, but I say that from
- 8:41Speaker 1: someone who I'm odd right. But yes, he's an odd
- 8:43Speaker 1: he's an odd duck. But you have to be. You
- 8:47Speaker 1: have to be odd to oddly pursue something at the
- 8:51Speaker 1: level of even these quarterbacks do like you have to
- 8:53Speaker 1: be so dedicated to this. So other than Jamarcus Russell,
- 8:57Speaker 1: you know, everybody's pretty odd at their work. Ethic. All right,
- 9:00Speaker 1: it's the next there are a lot of turnovers, Um,
- 9:02Speaker 1: a lot of bad situation. Will play in the first week.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Do you think that has anything to do with cutting
- 9:06Speaker 1: down the preseason games and starters hardly playing at all? Yeah,
- 9:10Speaker 1: I was more than I've ever seen before. Fumbles Galore,
- 9:14Speaker 1: Joe Burrows that it throws sixty nine interceptions. Nice, and
- 9:18Speaker 1: it was very sloppy. And that's not just a game
- 9:22Speaker 1: being cut, that's also them just not playing players as much,
- 9:25Speaker 1: even when they did have all the games. You know,
- 9:27Speaker 1: and I understand not playing players, and it's a fine
- 9:29Speaker 1: line that everybody has to walk and I don't think
- 9:30Speaker 1: you ever walk it correctly, because you could play all
- 9:33Speaker 1: your players and getting ready and they could get hurt,
- 9:35Speaker 1: or you can play none of them and nobody could
- 9:36Speaker 1: get hurt and they get get hurt game one. There's
- 9:39Speaker 1: not a real science behind it. I'm sure they're analytics
- 9:41Speaker 1: behind it, but you don't do it right or you
- 9:44Speaker 1: don't do it wrong. But yes, I think a lot
- 9:45Speaker 1: of that. Look at the kicking. The kicking sucked everywhere.
- 9:50Speaker 1: I mean everywhere. It's a little dramatic, but you saw
- 9:53Speaker 1: the colts cut blanket ship. I love that, dude, because
- 9:57Speaker 1: you were glasses like the only him. Yeah, Um, so
- 10:01Speaker 1: they cut him. You're talking about one of the best
- 10:04Speaker 1: kickers in the NFL. I mean there are two Justin
- 10:06Speaker 1: Tucker and then if I'm picking somebody else, you know
- 10:09Speaker 1: I'm going to going to Cincinnati. Yeah, yeah, that's where
- 10:13Speaker 1: I'm going. And he he he missed. So yes, I
- 10:18Speaker 1: think that that is exactly what that is. But but
- 10:21Speaker 1: what's the kickers problem? Like they mean they can kick
- 10:24Speaker 1: any any time of day, morning, night. Well, you can
- 10:26Speaker 1: also catch balls anytime day or night. But if you're
- 10:28Speaker 1: not in actual game play in game situations. You know
- 10:30Speaker 1: who was awesome was the safety in Kansas City read.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Did you watch the behind the scenes video of him kicking?
- 10:37Speaker 1: So he had to go kick and they're like, we
- 10:39Speaker 1: gotta go kick. What's his name was hurt. Yeah, so
- 10:41Speaker 1: he had to kick and first he goes in for
- 10:43Speaker 1: an extra point and rips it to him right to
- 10:44Speaker 1: the middle. He was the backup kicker in college and
- 10:48Speaker 1: he was a high school kicker. He was the emergency
- 10:51Speaker 1: kicker in college and he was high school kicker. But
- 10:54Speaker 1: he's also a great safety, so he don't want him kicking.
- 10:57Speaker 1: You know he getting hurt. And so he goes and
- 10:59Speaker 1: he kicked the extra point. Looks Awesome doing it, and
- 11:01Speaker 1: then he goes and does a kickoff and kicked it
- 11:03Speaker 1: to the UPRIGHTS. Wow, crazy, that's that's an act. That
- 11:08Speaker 1: is such an athlete. But not all athletes can do
- 11:11Speaker 1: that because you still have to specialize like it was all.
- 11:14Speaker 1: It was amazing to see and I watched on twitter,
- 11:16Speaker 1: like the behind the scenes of it all where the
- 11:18Speaker 1: coach like you're gonna have to kick and he's like cool,
- 11:20Speaker 1: he's like he's like a good, yeah, yeah, cool, boom drills.
- 11:23Speaker 1: It looks good too, not even like one of the US,
- 11:25Speaker 1: like it's like a you know, nineteen or somebody who,
- 11:29Speaker 1: or when someone does, like a quarterback, decides to Dude,
- 11:32Speaker 1: you know, a punt on thirdday. It was awesome. He
- 11:38Speaker 1: was awesome. Uh, yeah, I think a lot. But the
- 11:40Speaker 1: quarterbacks can throw day or night to this game, situated
- 11:44Speaker 1: with crowds, Games that matter. Just yes, I think it's
- 11:48Speaker 1: interesting that the one person that did play a lot
- 11:50Speaker 1: of preseason games dude really well in my homes like
- 11:52Speaker 1: the chiefs look great. Yeah, he acted like preseason was
- 11:54Speaker 1: regular season. He played his reps, scored you know how
- 11:57Speaker 1: many touchdowns in the preseason and there he goes. I
- 12:00Speaker 1: that truly is the reason week one was weird. I
- 12:03Speaker 1: think mahomes is piste off at everybody, though, and I
- 12:05Speaker 1: think some of that that was him just going all
- 12:07Speaker 1: right with me, talk to act like I'm not the
- 12:09Speaker 1: best for a whole offseason after a game. I think
- 12:12Speaker 1: he's got something to prove and I'm just happy I
- 12:15Speaker 1: drafted him a fantasy there. That's all right. What's next? Sorry,
- 12:18Speaker 1: Jerry Jones said that Dak Prescott's not gonna go on.
- 12:21Speaker 1: I R and he'll be back pretty quick. Do you
- 12:23Speaker 1: think Jerry's just trying to stay relevant here and rushing
- 12:26Speaker 1: Dak back? Well, it's five minutes before. You asked this
- 12:30Speaker 1: with Edward Or. He does talk about this and how
- 12:33Speaker 1: he does see Dak coming back earlier, maybe even a
- 12:36Speaker 1: four weeks, and I'll let him say that. I don't
- 12:39Speaker 1: think it's Jerry going hey, why need you get you
- 12:42Speaker 1: out there before you're ready? I don't I'm glad they're
- 12:46Speaker 1: not doing the experiment with Jimmy g you have to
- 12:48Speaker 1: give up too much for that, especially for something that
- 12:50Speaker 1: could have been six or eight weeks. I like to
- 12:53Speaker 1: see I'd like to see rush go out and win
- 12:55Speaker 1: a couple of games. That'd be cool. That would be cool.
- 12:57Speaker 1: I mean that's gonna Happen, but be cool maybe. I
- 12:59Speaker 1: mean it's obvious. The year I buy the cowboys in
- 13:01Speaker 1: our student they this happens. So now you're like, come on,
- 13:04Speaker 1: Cooper right, I know I'm the biggest rush fan in
- 13:05Speaker 1: the world. Yeah, yeah, yeah, alright, what else you got?
- 13:09Speaker 1: Going to ant double a here? which ranked team has
- 13:12Speaker 1: more to prove at home this week? Oregon versus B
- 13:14Speaker 1: Y U, or Texas A and M versus Miami? It's
- 13:17Speaker 1: Texas A and M Miami, because nobody. I say nobody. Um,
- 13:23Speaker 1: if you're way west coast, people just care less because
- 13:25Speaker 1: they see you last first. First of all, Oregon got
- 13:27Speaker 1: what by Georgia and I think that the real story
- 13:30Speaker 1: was how strong Georgia was in that not as much
- 13:33Speaker 1: as how weak Oregon was, although that was kind of
- 13:35Speaker 1: embarrassing for them. But Texas A and M comes out
- 13:37Speaker 1: having the number one recruiting class, the ranked number six.
- 13:39Speaker 1: They get, they get bullied, I get Oregon got beat
- 13:43Speaker 1: by Georgia and that's embarrassing. You know, it's more embarrassing
- 13:46Speaker 1: getting me by Appalachian State and getting bullied in your home.
- 13:50Speaker 1: So Texas A and M has has more to prove.
- 13:54Speaker 1: If they lose against Miami, the wheels are going to
- 13:57Speaker 1: fall off. They're gonna fall off and that would be
- 14:00Speaker 1: tough for them. and Miami's no joke there. They have
- 14:03Speaker 1: a good quarterback. Texas and M should win. They should agree.
- 14:06Speaker 1: They should, but they also should have be an APP state. Honestly,
- 14:10Speaker 1: the Oregon B Y U Games interesting because he is
- 14:13Speaker 1: really good. They were good. He's real good. and You
- 14:18Speaker 1: wonder because again, they beat Baylor in a great game. Dude,
- 14:22Speaker 1: that I didn't stay up to watch, but I went
- 14:23Speaker 1: back and watched and that game what two overtimes, Holy Crap,
- 14:28Speaker 1: and I just keep watching by because Arkansas is gonna
- 14:31Speaker 1: play them. I might go out to Provo to watch it.
- 14:32Speaker 1: Maybe it's a long trip, but I think Texas A
- 14:36Speaker 1: and M's embarrassed more than Oregon is, because it matters.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Football matters more and they've invested more into that program
- 14:42Speaker 1: as far as like the people, in time and recruiting
- 14:45Speaker 1: and yeah, what else you got? Do you think Nebraska
- 14:48Speaker 1: should go after Urban Meyer? Yeah, why not? I hate
- 14:54Speaker 1: but yeah, he'll win. It depends. Do they want to
- 14:58Speaker 1: allow their integral you know, to be kicked in the NADS?
- 15:04Speaker 1: Is it worth it to them? Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, you
- 15:07Speaker 1: win winning. I say this. I'm not gonna let you
- 15:12Speaker 1: say I'm not gonna let you say it. Winning solves everything.
- 15:17Speaker 1: I love Bobytraino at Arkansas wasn't a good dude. He Won.
- 15:20Speaker 1: Anybody it doesn't think that you just win and you
- 15:24Speaker 1: stay on the good side of the law. That's all
- 15:26Speaker 1: that's all we want. We don't know. These people just win, man.
- 15:30Speaker 1: It's gotta be tough to be such a fan of
- 15:33Speaker 1: a team and you believe in your team and then
- 15:36Speaker 1: if they hire urban Meyer, the dude that you know
- 15:39Speaker 1: is just gonna bring bad press to you. Everyone hates him.
- 15:43Speaker 1: SHAN WATSON IN CLEVELAND. Same, the same thing, the same,
- 15:46Speaker 1: same comparison. Like, I don't know, if I was an
- 15:49Speaker 1: a Braska fan and that happened, I'd be like, I
- 15:53Speaker 1: love it. No, I would love it. I would hate
- 15:55Speaker 1: it if they brought Sean Dallas. No, like, I don't
- 15:59Speaker 1: even want to think now. You have to say that now, though,
- 16:01Speaker 1: because you have to say that. You can't be like, Oh,
- 16:03Speaker 1: I'd love it, you can't. You probably would like you
- 16:04Speaker 1: have liked it and you would have found a way
- 16:06Speaker 1: to like it and you would like urban Meyer to
- 16:09Speaker 1: be the Nebraska. I hate the Scott Fross lost his job.
- 16:11Speaker 1: I hate that he couldn't do it because we always
- 16:13Speaker 1: like to see somebody from the route come up and
- 16:17Speaker 1: do it, and the fact that Urban Meyer isn't he
- 16:19Speaker 1: doing TV now? Who wants to hear award? This guy says,
- 16:24Speaker 1: I don't get it. He's Urban Meyer, though. So yes,
- 16:27Speaker 1: you don't want to hear the word, but it's cool
- 16:29Speaker 1: that he's there. That's about. Yes, of course, Nebraska. Yeah, yes,
- 16:33Speaker 1: all right. What else you got? Last question? Okay, the
- 16:36Speaker 1: lions are favorite this week. You want to close up
- 16:39Speaker 1: a tit tat? Here we go, tattle tattle all right
- 16:48Speaker 1: around the room here. The lions are favorite this week
- 16:50Speaker 1: after twenty four straight games. It's been a season and
- 16:53Speaker 1: a half since they were a favorite. Just that Vegas said,
- 16:56Speaker 1: you know, you're at home. You get three points for
- 16:58Speaker 1: being at home. You're a one point favorite. Let's mean
- 17:00Speaker 1: you're not even good, but we're gonna give you the
- 17:02Speaker 1: three points that they have been a favorite, and so
- 17:05Speaker 1: they are the favorite against the commanders. Question is how
- 17:08Speaker 1: many wins for the Lions this year? Kick off, Kevin,
- 17:11Speaker 1: you go first. Um, I'll go with seven. Yeah, let's
- 17:17Speaker 1: go with seven. I know. Yeah, I almost want with eight. Actually,
- 17:21Speaker 1: I just I think they played well last week. The
- 17:23Speaker 1: Eagles are good. Um, Eagles went up again pretty big
- 17:26Speaker 1: on them early but they came back and maybe I'm
- 17:29Speaker 1: buying the hype of the hard knocks with Dan Campbell
- 17:32Speaker 1: and everything, but I hope they get seven. I'm kind
- 17:35Speaker 1: of in the same boat I was. I was gonna
- 17:37Speaker 1: say seven, but since he took seven, I'll take six.
- 17:39Speaker 1: I'm still not quite on the train just because they've
- 17:42Speaker 1: been so bad for so long. They're gonna have to
- 17:44Speaker 1: show me that they can string together any amount of
- 17:47Speaker 1: wins before I get my heart set on anything the
- 17:50Speaker 1: lines do. I just wouldn't have a heart on the
- 17:52Speaker 1: lines at all. I mean he ain't going into the lines. Um,
- 17:56Speaker 1: I watched the game. It's and I talked to Edward
- 17:58Speaker 1: about it in a little bit. I was like, who's
- 17:59Speaker 1: good and WHO's not, because they both scored a bunch
- 18:01Speaker 1: of points and that means somebody's doing good this somebody's
- 18:03Speaker 1: also not doing good. Um, I think the lions, if
- 18:07Speaker 1: golf can just play, okay, okay, too, pretty good. I
- 18:10Speaker 1: think they win nine games. Who all right, but again
- 18:16Speaker 1: you have to have golf play pretty good. But I'M
- 18:18Speaker 1: gonna pick my number at nine. I'm an optimist here
- 18:20Speaker 1: with Detroit, but you know that they've got two running backs.
- 18:26Speaker 1: Swift looked great. Um. I just feel like if golf
- 18:32Speaker 1: can play okay, they will win. Eddie. Um, you know,
- 18:36Speaker 1: I was talking crap to Kevin when he said what
- 18:38Speaker 1: you're saying. Seven. I'm looking at their schedule. Their schedule
- 18:40Speaker 1: looks pretty weak. They played the bears, you know, a
- 18:42Speaker 1: couple of times, obviously the same division. There are some
- 18:44Speaker 1: games here that I think they can win, but I'm
- 18:46Speaker 1: gonna put them at five. I'M gonna put them in
- 18:48Speaker 1: five games. Guys, just because you saw hard knocks doesn't
- 18:51Speaker 1: mean they're any better. And Week one doesn't tell us
- 18:53Speaker 1: anything about what these teams are gonna do all year.
- 18:56Speaker 1: I drafted him on St Brown and both my fantasy
- 18:58Speaker 1: leagues because I felt you look good, look really good,
- 19:01Speaker 1: really good, and and swift looks really good. And Williams
- 19:04Speaker 1: isn't even playing and he may not play until later
- 19:06Speaker 1: in the season. You know the first round pick from
- 19:08Speaker 1: h yeah, that they got last year, Um, because he
- 19:11Speaker 1: had a hamstring injury at then the last year. Yeah. So,
- 19:16Speaker 1: and I don't know there's gonna Affect anything this year.
- 19:18Speaker 1: But it's a young team with a quarterback Hutchinson's. You know,
- 19:23Speaker 1: they've got different actual parts. Now weapons. They just have this, this,
- 19:27Speaker 1: the same owner. But since Nati always did that too, though,
- 19:33Speaker 1: and all of a sudden they didn't, because I got
- 19:34Speaker 1: a quarter right to came in and Change The culture
- 19:36Speaker 1: and a coaching staff that allowed him to come in
- 19:38Speaker 1: and change the culture. But I'M gonna go nine because
- 19:40Speaker 1: I like the lions. I like a good loser. You know, man, nine,
- 19:43Speaker 1: you guys weren't high. Well, I also, I think, even
- 19:45Speaker 1: if I hadn't bought the cowboys, I've been rooting for
- 19:47Speaker 1: the cowboys because they're now such a loser that I'm
- 19:49Speaker 1: starting to go I should root for the cowboys because
- 19:51Speaker 1: they're losers. Thank you, Matt. Yeah, but now, yes, but
- 19:54Speaker 1: that's like I hate a team that wins. I'm never
- 19:56Speaker 1: rooting for a team that always wins if I don't
- 19:58Speaker 1: have a relationship, because I feel like I'm a loser.
- 20:00Speaker 1: You know, we've been losers for a long time, YEA,
- 20:04Speaker 1: so much you've had to like double lose for us
- 20:07Speaker 1: to look at, because you've all been bragging about nineties
- 20:09Speaker 1: and Michael Irvin and right, but at the end of
- 20:12Speaker 1: every season we're really losers. Yeah, every year. The end
- 20:16Speaker 1: the last year was brutal. It's sad the playoffs and
- 20:21Speaker 1: then do that. It's okay, Hey, it's kick off. Kevin here,
- 20:24Speaker 1: and lately I've been listening to a lot of country
- 20:26Speaker 1: music radio while I'm getting to workout in whether it's
- 20:29Speaker 1: at the gym out on a run, and it's been great.
- 20:32Speaker 1: But the reason it's been so great is because I
- 20:34Speaker 1: use my raycon wireless earbuds to do it. Raycons everyday
- 20:38Speaker 1: earbuds look, feel and sound better than ever, with optimized
- 20:42Speaker 1: jail tips for the perfect in ear fit. These buds
- 20:44Speaker 1: are so comfortable and I promise you they will not budge.
- 20:49Speaker 1: Rays also give you eight hours of playtime in a
- 20:52Speaker 1: thirty two hour battery life, and they're priced just right.
- 20:55Speaker 1: You get the quality audio at half the price of
- 20:58Speaker 1: other premium audio brand. Trust me, I'm an audio guy.
- 21:01Speaker 1: I know good quality and RECON delivers, not to mention
- 21:06Speaker 1: some of the additional features that are my favorite, like
- 21:08Speaker 1: the noise isolation, earbud tap functions, three customizable sound profiles.
- 21:13Speaker 1: The list goes on and on. If you're looking to
- 21:15Speaker 1: get some new wireless earbuds, I'm telling you RACON is
- 21:18Speaker 1: a way to go. Just go to buy RECON DOT

- 21:31Speaker 1: off by recon dot com code bobby sports all one word.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Let's do yes or no round the room. Laron Rodgers
- 21:41Speaker 1: have pretty bad here, Eddie. No, not possible, Aaron Rodgers.
- 21:46Speaker 1: I mean he'll figure out a way. Uh Really, it's
- 21:50Speaker 1: just I'M gonna go back to week one. It's tough
- 21:52Speaker 1: to really decide what these teams are gonna do after
- 21:54Speaker 1: watching week one. But Aaron Rodgers is a playmaker man.
- 21:57Speaker 1: He'll figure it out, he'll make adjustments and you can't
- 21:59Speaker 1: bet against him. He's gonna he's gonna figure out a
- 22:01Speaker 1: way to beat you. Every time he doesn't have any receivers.
- 22:03Speaker 1: You'll figure it out. I mean this is the thing
- 22:05Speaker 1: about the NFL. Like, yeah, they don't have big name receivers,
- 22:08Speaker 1: but these are still top athletes. They're playing against top
- 22:11Speaker 1: athletes too. I get it. I think Aaron Rodgers always
- 22:14Speaker 1: I don't know, I don't know how he does it,
- 22:15Speaker 1: but I think he'll have a way to figure it out.
- 22:17Speaker 1: He always does. He'll have a better season than anything. Adam,
- 22:20Speaker 1: I agree with you, Eddie. Aaron Rodgers is just one
- 22:22Speaker 1: of those guys that elevates the play of the people
- 22:25Speaker 1: around him. He always has. I mean you heard Jordy
- 22:28Speaker 1: Nelson before, you know, before he started going off with Rodgers.
- 22:31Speaker 1: I don't have but Jordy Nelson also had other guys. Yeah,
- 22:33Speaker 1: if that's like but but then, but then those he
- 22:36Speaker 1: kind of had some number one guys leave and then
- 22:38Speaker 1: and then he was the dude Um. So I don't know.
- 22:41Speaker 1: I feel like he's a guy who can bring receivers along.
- 22:43Speaker 1: If those guys are ever going to develop in their
- 22:46Speaker 1: in their career as NFL receivers, it's gonna be with
- 22:49Speaker 1: Aaron Rodgers as a quarterback. So I feel like he
- 22:52Speaker 1: can elevate their play and they're gonna figure some stuff out.
- 22:54Speaker 1: On some games Jordy's on the phone, he's insulted Nelson.
- 22:59Speaker 1: Kick off cab. I'm gonna go with yes, because I
- 23:03Speaker 1: just don't think he has, like you were saying, all
- 23:05Speaker 1: the weapons around him like he's used to having, whether
- 23:07Speaker 1: it's Jordani or Um. I know he's got Randall cops.
- 23:09Speaker 1: So his offensive line cops fifty one. I just look
- 23:11Speaker 1: at that. Yeah, his offensive line is still hurt. Um,
- 23:16Speaker 1: I'm not sure if veldes whatever. Yes, he moved over.
- 23:22Speaker 1: thinking four catches. Fancy? He lost a lot, too much
- 23:29Speaker 1: because span. Yeah, so I'm gonna go with yes, like
- 23:32Speaker 1: to his standards. Yes, I think it will be down here.
- 23:34Speaker 1: I think it will be too probably his standards. What
- 23:36Speaker 1: does that mean? Well, I said, is he can have
- 23:38Speaker 1: a pretty bad year. But yes, that's that's that's what
- 23:40Speaker 1: it would be as compared to his good years. He's
- 23:42Speaker 1: a two time m yeah, well, I mean, well, he's
- 23:45Speaker 1: one more super bowl, though. Oh, absolutely, he has the
- 23:48Speaker 1: Super Bowl, so he's good, but he's one more to
- 23:50Speaker 1: really be one of the great guys. But this has
- 23:52Speaker 1: got to be like one of the worst teams we've
- 23:53Speaker 1: seen him on in a while. Uh. Let's do a
- 23:56Speaker 1: couple of other these pretty quickly. Will Josh Allen be
- 23:58Speaker 1: the M V P at? UH, possibly, I mean it
- 24:02Speaker 1: just depends. Never don't answer a question. Okay. Well, Josh
- 24:11Speaker 1: Allen Be the M V P? Yes, Adam, no, petrock, mahomes,
- 24:14Speaker 1: kick off, Kevin, yes, uh, you know Lamar Jackson? Oh Really?
- 24:22Speaker 1: M Okay, he's got a lot to prove, but a
- 24:26Speaker 1: lot of me. He's got a lot of money to make.
- 24:28Speaker 1: Let's do we'll say Kawan miss more than one game
- 24:31Speaker 1: this season, Eddie. Man, I hate to say it, but yes,
- 24:34Speaker 1: I mean his injury was so bad last time, like
- 24:37Speaker 1: it's just this game. He yeah, he killed it. He
- 24:39Speaker 1: killed it last week, but he always. He always gets hurt.
- 24:42Speaker 1: He gets he's he's injury prone. So, yeah, I'm gonna
- 24:45Speaker 1: say yes to he's. He's gonna Miss Him. He's gonna
- 24:47Speaker 1: miss some time. They're gonna lean on too much Kevin. Yes,
- 24:51Speaker 1: I hate to say it too, but yes, no, because
- 24:56Speaker 1: I do, but because I think he's not someone who
- 24:59Speaker 1: is wholker. He's been injury prone. Hit a couple, yes,
- 25:02Speaker 1: with the giants early, but I feel good. I think.
- 25:05Speaker 1: I think they're gonna play him right. I think Daniel
- 25:07Speaker 1: Jones gonna play okay too, and he's not going to
- 25:10Speaker 1: be good. I don't know that they'll. They didn't pick
- 25:11Speaker 1: up action on purpose and I don't think they're gonna
- 25:14Speaker 1: keep him. But Um, yes or no. We'll trey lance
- 25:17Speaker 1: throw for more than three hundred yards in a game
- 25:18Speaker 1: this season. Eddie. No, don't believe the hype. There's no
- 25:22Speaker 1: hype anymore. They're freaking in the storm. It's like Al
- 25:27Speaker 1: Roker and Hurricane Irma and he's playing in it. Let's
- 25:30Speaker 1: go to use Adam. I'M gonna go. Yes. I don't know.
- 25:34Speaker 1: I just gotta just gotta, just gotta feeling ugly, Ugly Games.
- 25:37Speaker 1: It's hard to it's hard to decide one way or
- 25:39Speaker 1: the other. So I'm I'M gonna go. Yes, Kevin. Yes,
- 25:41Speaker 1: I mean he's got Shanahan back there. As long as
- 25:43Speaker 1: he has him coaching, he'll he'll be fine. Yeah, I think,
- 25:45Speaker 1: I think he will. I think maybe once or twice.
- 25:48Speaker 1: I think he'll also probably rush for seven year eighty
- 25:50Speaker 1: yards five or six games too. He's not going to
- 25:54Speaker 1: be your prototypical let's try to throw for three d
- 25:56Speaker 1: hit that number passing yards quarterback. He's probably gonna try
- 25:59Speaker 1: to throw to twenty or two thirty and have sixty
- 26:02Speaker 1: or seventy on the ground, maybe score running touchdown every
- 26:04Speaker 1: three games, every two games. So I hope Trey Lance
- 26:07Speaker 1: does well, but you know he didn't have a lot
- 26:09Speaker 1: of experience coming in. We talked about that before final question. Well,
- 26:12Speaker 1: Mike McCarthy, make it through the season in Dallas. Is
- 26:14Speaker 1: the head coach? Well, he finished week eighteen as the
- 26:16Speaker 1: head coach. Go to cowboy fanattie first. Yes, I believe
- 26:21Speaker 1: he will. I mean I don't know why. There's no reason,
- 26:26Speaker 1: but Kevin. Yes, wow, I just Jerry Jones doesn't really
- 26:33Speaker 1: fire guys in season. I think he's done one before right, Um,
- 26:37Speaker 1: so I just think he'll let him last. I don't
- 26:38Speaker 1: think we'll make it past this season into next season,
- 26:41Speaker 1: but yes, through this season. Adam, on paper he'll make
- 26:43Speaker 1: it through, but Jerry's are gonna have his guy before
- 26:45Speaker 1: the end of the season. I think McCarthy has a
- 26:47Speaker 1: shot too. If McCarthy can win through all of this,
- 26:51Speaker 1: I think he's punched's ticket for a couple more years.
- 26:54Speaker 1: I think he I think he's on the on the
- 26:56Speaker 1: old teeter totter. It could go it really could be
- 26:58Speaker 1: he gets more, more more than one year, a couple
- 27:00Speaker 1: of years, or he goes away, depending on it's a
- 27:03Speaker 1: very unfortunate situation that's happened in Dallas with with injuries
- 27:07Speaker 1: on the offensive line, injuries in your quarterback. If he
- 27:09Speaker 1: can win through this and come out ten and seven,
- 27:14Speaker 1: ten and eight, ten and seven or eighteen weeks now.
- 27:17Speaker 1: It's all weird. If it come out ten and seven,
- 27:20Speaker 1: I think he keeps his job because it's been a
- 27:22Speaker 1: very tumultuous season for the cowboys. He's navigating in very
- 27:27Speaker 1: rough seas right now. We'Renna talking to Edward in second,
- 27:29Speaker 1: which is awesome. Edwards from ESPN, I ce. I'm all time,
- 27:32Speaker 1: all the Times I'm in Dallas and this was lined
- 27:34Speaker 1: up before the cowboys drama. I was able to get on.
- 27:38Speaker 1: So he was, isn't the cowboys drama always there though? Yes,
- 27:40Speaker 1: but it's real bad now, real bad now. So, Edward
- 27:44Speaker 1: or coming up just a second. You just was just
- 27:46Speaker 1: a great interview. Let me tell you. The NFL's opening week,

- 28:43Speaker 1: now and let us talk to Edward Urn, since you
- 28:47Speaker 1: know so many people in athletics. And if you get injured,
- 28:52Speaker 1: like do you have the context to go hey, I
- 28:54Speaker 1: just tore in a c l. can you help me? Hey,
- 28:58Speaker 1: I sneeze. How do I stop? Yeah, but don't you
- 29:02Speaker 1: know team doctors? That would be like yeah, yeah, here's
- 29:04Speaker 1: what you can do. Do you have I do. I
- 29:06Speaker 1: do know team doctors, and the moment it proved most
- 29:09Speaker 1: beneficial was when we found out that my wife had
- 29:12Speaker 1: breast cancer and had no idea who to turn to.
- 29:15Speaker 1: It was um the morning before a super bowl and
- 29:19Speaker 1: I called somebody, a doctor team position that I know,
- 29:23Speaker 1: at seven o'clock in the morning and by seven fifteen
- 29:26Speaker 1: he already had us an appointment with the best breast
- 29:29Speaker 1: cancer surgeon in Dallas. That's really what about with relationships,
- 29:33Speaker 1: because you know, this whole world is based on relationships.
- 29:35Speaker 1: Due The friends hit you at me like hey, ed,
- 29:38Speaker 1: can I get an autograph Troy Yeagman or an autograph anybody?
- 29:42Speaker 1: Did that happen with you? I think they learned long
- 29:44Speaker 1: ago that I'm not going to be their liaison for
- 29:47Speaker 1: Autograph Memory Bilia, game tickets or other opportunities to uh,
- 29:53Speaker 1: engage with their favorite players, coaches or, depending on the Sunday, players,
- 29:58Speaker 1: coaches and team official shoals. They used to like in respect,
- 30:02Speaker 1: Edward is on it. I'm just a big fan of
- 30:03Speaker 1: y'all say this should have started with that, but I
- 30:05Speaker 1: was so interested in to have a team doctors in
- 30:07Speaker 1: the back pocket. Um. I'm a big Fan of what
- 30:10Speaker 1: you do and I just have spent so much time
- 30:13Speaker 1: like listening to you talk about different things through my
- 30:16Speaker 1: sports life. So I actually get to really spent a
- 30:18Speaker 1: few minutes with you like it's an honor for me.
- 30:20Speaker 1: So thank you for the time. I appreciate the opportunity
- 30:23Speaker 1: to be a guest on your show. You know you're
- 30:25Speaker 1: the guy in demand now, especially because of what's happening
- 30:28Speaker 1: with the Dallas cowboys. I mean, we had kind of
- 30:30Speaker 1: scheduled this before all that went down in the last weekend,
- 30:34Speaker 1: but it's like the the eye of the storm right
- 30:37Speaker 1: now in Dallas as far as what's happening in the
- 30:39Speaker 1: NFL and all the news. What's happening right now, I
- 30:42Speaker 1: mean because I can't I don't even know what to
- 30:43Speaker 1: ask because it keeps changing. Well, the latest calamity Um
- 30:47Speaker 1: with the cowboys is that Dak Prescott was injured in
- 30:52Speaker 1: their season opening loss to the Tampa Bay buccaneers late
- 30:54Speaker 1: in the game, a nineteen to three loss Um. He
- 30:59Speaker 1: had surgery this week. The surgery revealed that the thumb
- 31:04Speaker 1: fracture is not quite as significant as it could have been,
- 31:09Speaker 1: because the risk is not necessarily involved and this is
- 31:13Speaker 1: his passing hand. So the cowboys are electing not to
- 31:17Speaker 1: put him on injured reserve, which would have meant he
- 31:19Speaker 1: could not have played for at least four weeks. So
- 31:22Speaker 1: that means that Dr Jerry Jones, as we mockingly call him,
- 31:26Speaker 1: and others are optimistic and maybe there's an actual medical
- 31:30Speaker 1: basis for it this time. Um, they're optimistic that he
- 31:34Speaker 1: could return inside of four weeks, and so we'll see.
- 31:38Speaker 1: I mean, you know, even with Dak Prescott last week,
- 31:42Speaker 1: the cowboys were the only team in the NFL not
- 31:46Speaker 1: to score a touchdown. They were the only team in
- 31:48Speaker 1: the NFC East not to win their game. They went
- 31:52Speaker 1: ten consecutive possessions without scoring at all. And so now
- 31:57Speaker 1: you enter into the equation week two with Cooper has
- 32:00Speaker 1: your starting quarterback. You know, you mentioned Dr Jerry Jones,
- 32:03Speaker 1: but also PR Jerry Jones. I mean as soon as
- 32:06Speaker 1: the game was over, like he was breaking the News,
- 32:08Speaker 1: we knew when the doctor went out there, because I
- 32:09Speaker 1: recognized the doctor at this point when he went out
- 32:11Speaker 1: on the field, that Dr Dan Cooper. Yeah, that something
- 32:14Speaker 1: was wrong and I, and cowboy hat like you, know exactly.
- 32:18Speaker 1: You know that's who that is. And so you're like
- 32:20Speaker 1: oh great, and so Jerry Jones comes out and says
- 32:23Speaker 1: this is what happened, and then Jerry Jones comes out
- 32:25Speaker 1: again and goes he could come back sooner. So I
- 32:27Speaker 1: don't I just don't know. What. What do you really
- 32:30Speaker 1: feel is happening? Do you think dad can come back
- 32:32Speaker 1: in four to five weeks instead of eight like we
- 32:34Speaker 1: were initially told? Yeah, I think so, and I think
- 32:37Speaker 1: they I think the fact they're not putting him on
- 32:39Speaker 1: injured reserve reflects that, because it will cost him a
- 32:42Speaker 1: spot on the roster that they could use for an
- 32:44Speaker 1: available player, you know, the next few weeks. So yeah,
- 32:48Speaker 1: they're playing with a little less roster depth at other
- 32:51Speaker 1: positions now because Dak Prescott is going to be active
- 32:54Speaker 1: and they hope he's not gonna be active for the game,
- 32:56Speaker 1: but they hope that he he will play sooner rather
- 32:59Speaker 1: than later. And you know, there's you mentioned Jerry. I
- 33:01Speaker 1: mean there's nobody else like Jerry Um he he is
- 33:05Speaker 1: the owner, he's officially the general manager, he's the president, he's,
- 33:09Speaker 1: you know, host of every radio and television show that
- 33:12Speaker 1: they have and and he does radio shows twice a week.
- 33:16Speaker 1: He loves to use those as vehicles to Break News,
- 33:20Speaker 1: whether the coaching staff likes it or not. Um, they
- 33:23Speaker 1: might see it as a competitive advantage to withhold certain
- 33:26Speaker 1: information medically on a player and his availability that Jerry
- 33:30Speaker 1: prefers to put out there so that he can have
- 33:32Speaker 1: his name in the headline or at least attached to
- 33:34Speaker 1: the news. After the game the other day, you're right,
- 33:37Speaker 1: the locker room closes up outbounds Jerry, the cameras and
- 33:41Speaker 1: you know, people records like they swarm Jerry. We ignore
- 33:44Speaker 1: what's going on in the head coaches Presconsin, we decline
- 33:47Speaker 1: their invitation go in the locker room and and and
- 33:50Speaker 1: interview the players, because Jerry is the guy in control
- 33:52Speaker 1: of the whole thing and so what he says is
- 33:55Speaker 1: more relevant than what anybody else says. With Cooper rush
- 33:57Speaker 1: coming in and again, I go back to watching him
- 34:00Speaker 1: play against the Vikings, because that's the one shred of
- 34:02Speaker 1: hope that I think cowboys fans have right now. I mean,
- 34:05Speaker 1: can he go too and two and keep the cowboys
- 34:08Speaker 1: season afloat? I don't know. Um, you know, history tells
- 34:13Speaker 1: you that teams with backup quarterbacks don't very often win. Uh.
- 34:17Speaker 1: Cooper rush did go in last year in Minnesota on
- 34:20Speaker 1: the road, Um, and replaced Dak Prescott and win the game,
- 34:24Speaker 1: and he wanted by throwing for over three hundred yards.
- 34:28Speaker 1: Ceedee lamb and a Marii Cooper, their starting receivers, both
- 34:31Speaker 1: had over a hundred yards of the game, and to
- 34:34Speaker 1: me that kind of makes the point. You know, I
- 34:36Speaker 1: think the cowboys went into this season believing that, hey,
- 34:41Speaker 1: they didn't need to be great at wide receiver. You know,
- 34:44Speaker 1: we could trade Amari Cooper for a fifth round pick,
- 34:47Speaker 1: even though we have the money to pay them. Um,
- 34:49Speaker 1: because Dak Prescott can elevate the performance of everybody around
- 34:53Speaker 1: I don't think it's fair to expect that from Cooper Rush. Like,
- 34:56Speaker 1: Cooper rush is not in all likelihood going to elevate
- 34:59Speaker 1: the performance of the skill position players around him in
- 35:02Speaker 1: the way that theoretically dat could do, and he certainly
- 35:05Speaker 1: didn't do it last Sunday night against Tampa. But I
- 35:08Speaker 1: think you can count on Cooper rush to execute the offense.
- 35:13Speaker 1: He's been here, you know, for four or five years.
- 35:16Speaker 1: He understands the system. He and I just heard Mike
- 35:20Speaker 1: McCarthy talked about hey, we need to still be aggressive,
- 35:23Speaker 1: and he was against the Minnesota but he's gonna have
- 35:26Speaker 1: to have his players, the players around him, are going
- 35:30Speaker 1: to have to elevate his performance rather than the quarterback
- 35:33Speaker 1: elevating their performance. To me, that's the challenge. You talk
- 35:36Speaker 1: about wide receivers, I think I've heard many people say
- 35:39Speaker 1: like that they may not have the speed or the
- 35:42Speaker 1: outside receivers to compete. I mean a Ceedee lamb is
- 35:45Speaker 1: he that guy? Is gonna be that guy? I mean
- 35:47Speaker 1: that's what they thought. Uh, you know, to give you
- 35:49Speaker 1: a sense of just how dire I and other critics
- 35:54Speaker 1: believe this cowboys wide receiver situation was, you know, this
- 35:58Speaker 1: offseason going, you know, throughout the preseason training camp, the
- 36:01Speaker 1: preseason gain. You know, they didn't play Dak, they didn't
- 36:03Speaker 1: play Ezekiel Elliott, they didn't play Ceedee lamb and they
- 36:07Speaker 1: didn't play Noah Brown because he was a wide receiver,
- 36:11Speaker 1: a veteran that they saw as their number two. He's
- 36:14Speaker 1: a Journeyman, you know, he hasn't got a touchdown pass
- 36:16Speaker 1: in the four years he's been in the League, and
- 36:18Speaker 1: yet you're protecting this guy like he's Michael Irvin. You know,
- 36:22Speaker 1: I think it's there's there's a real liability at that position,
- 36:24Speaker 1: at least until Michael Gallup gets back from injury, and
- 36:27Speaker 1: that could be any time. Mike McCarthy said even today
- 36:29Speaker 1: they're gonna, you know, begin integrating him into the team
- 36:32Speaker 1: portions of practice. So I'm not sure he'll it'll be
- 36:35Speaker 1: a close decision whether to play him the sunny against
- 36:37Speaker 1: the Bengals, but I think next week on Monday night
- 36:40Speaker 1: football against the giants is more likely at this time.
- 36:42Speaker 1: But yeah, the positions in total chaos. Ceedee lamb seems
- 36:46Speaker 1: to have the athletic ability to be the number one receiver,
- 36:48Speaker 1: but he was that the other night and DAC threw
- 36:51Speaker 1: eleven balls to him and he caught too. Not Good.
- 36:54Speaker 1: Eddie is my best friend. He's also one of the
- 36:56Speaker 1: producers on the show, but he's a massive cowboys fan. Eddie,
- 36:59Speaker 1: he ut ED here. Ed, thank you for coming on
- 37:03Speaker 1: the show. I think it's so cool that you're on.
- 37:05Speaker 1: Obviously this is a dream for me, so I'm gonna
- 37:07Speaker 1: ask you. We are, you know, cowboys nation. We are
- 37:11Speaker 1: in panic mode. So can you give us a few
- 37:13Speaker 1: words to settle our nerves a little bit about the
- 37:16Speaker 1: rest of the season. Is that possible? Well, I think
- 37:20Speaker 1: the next few weeks without Dark Prescott, are gonna be
- 37:22Speaker 1: pivotal to determining whether not only do they have a
- 37:25Speaker 1: successful season, but can they win the division again. You know,
- 37:29Speaker 1: nobody's won this division back to back for seventeen years
- 37:33Speaker 1: Um and now the cowboys suddenly seemed challenged because they're
- 37:35Speaker 1: already a game behind everybody else in the division. But
- 37:38Speaker 1: if I was going to offer some kind of encouragement,
- 37:42Speaker 1: I would say they need their defense to step up
- 37:46Speaker 1: and be the reason that they win, and they're capable
- 37:50Speaker 1: of that. They did that the whole second half of
- 37:52Speaker 1: the season last year with the way they created turnovers.
- 37:55Speaker 1: They led the NFL in takeaways, they led the NFL,
- 37:58Speaker 1: and interceptions they led the NFL and defensive touchdowns. They
- 38:02Speaker 1: need that now, and guess what? The schedules pretty fortuitous
- 38:06Speaker 1: in that way. You know why? Joe Burrow just turned
- 38:08Speaker 1: the ball over five times last week and got sacked
- 38:11Speaker 1: seven times. He's coming to Jerry World this week. Dan
- 38:15Speaker 1: Quinn needs to turn these guys loose and they need
- 38:17Speaker 1: to be the difference in the game. And the next
- 38:20Speaker 1: week they go to the giants and guess what? Daniel
- 38:23Speaker 1: Jones one last week under his new coach, Brian Dable,
- 38:25Speaker 1: but he had multiple turnovers for the sixteenth time. He's
- 38:29Speaker 1: the NFL leader and having multiple turnover games and the
- 38:32Speaker 1: time he's spent in the League. So there's a reason
- 38:34Speaker 1: to believe the cowboys can persevere without that. Oh Boes,
- 38:37Speaker 1: I just got chills. That's great. I love that. And
- 38:40Speaker 1: he feels like he just watched rudy. I love and
- 38:43Speaker 1: they just watched the final scene in Rudy, but it
- 38:45Speaker 1: was ed talking about the cowboys. Can Ask another question.
- 38:47Speaker 1: Go ahead and Jerry. You were talking about Jerry. Uh.
- 38:51Speaker 1: How hard is it from McCarthy and all of these
- 38:54Speaker 1: head coaches to come and you see it? You're you're
- 38:56Speaker 1: in the war zone. What's it like for these head
- 38:59Speaker 1: coaches to come in and to Dallas cowboys with Jerry
- 39:01Speaker 1: as the owner? Well, the reason that Jimmy Johnson left
- 39:04Speaker 1: when he did was because Jerry Jones crossed the line right.
- 39:06Speaker 1: He crossed the line from Executive Ownership into coaching and
- 39:12Speaker 1: that that may creates a very difficult situation, especially as,
- 39:16Speaker 1: as I mentioned, as public as Jerry is. I can
- 39:20Speaker 1: remember times when after games Dave Campbell was afraid to
- 39:23Speaker 1: answer the question whether they won or lost because he
- 39:25Speaker 1: didn't know what Jerry was gonna say. So he had
- 39:27Speaker 1: to wait till Wednesday. Um, and that's an exaggeration, obviously,
- 39:30Speaker 1: but yes, it's a difficult position and it's difficult for
- 39:34Speaker 1: Mike McCarthy because he comes from the Green Bay packers.
- 39:38Speaker 1: The Green Bay packers don't even have an owner. They
- 39:40Speaker 1: don't have a singular figure who's an owner, much less
- 39:43Speaker 1: an owner who's among the most powerful and recognizable and
- 39:48Speaker 1: involved on a daily basis. So that's the challenge for
- 39:51Speaker 1: Mike McCarthy. That being said, I think it's pretty clear
- 39:55Speaker 1: this is a critically important season for Mike McCarthy if
- 39:58Speaker 1: he expects to, you know, get your war on his contract.
- 40:01Speaker 1: He's he's two more years on his contract. Uh, and
- 40:04Speaker 1: this is an interesting fact. I'll tell you. Mike McCarthy,
- 40:07Speaker 1: and I mentioned Dave Campbell. I'm gonna go Mike McCarthy
- 40:09Speaker 1: has lost all three of his season openers as the
- 40:11Speaker 1: cowboys head coaches. Oh and three. The only other of
- 40:15Speaker 1: the nine head coaches the cowboys have had who went
- 40:17Speaker 1: oh and three in season openers was Dave Campbell. And
- 40:20Speaker 1: guess what he didn't get the season opener number four.
- 40:23Speaker 1: I mean, is Sean Payton just it's that's gonna Happen Right,
- 40:27Speaker 1: and you know, I think it's Um, not as certain
- 40:31Speaker 1: as most people do. First of all, Mike McCarthy have
- 40:34Speaker 1: to fail, or at least he has to get fired Um,
- 40:37Speaker 1: and Jerry could do that without him failing if he
- 40:39Speaker 1: wanted Sean Payton badly enough. This is the this is
- 40:42Speaker 1: the problem with Sean Payton. And he has a great
- 40:45Speaker 1: relationship with Jerry Jones. He worked in the organization under
- 40:48Speaker 1: bill parcels. He's probably the most talented coach that ever
- 40:53Speaker 1: that Jerry Jones ever let out of the building and
- 40:56Speaker 1: he had great success in New Orleans. Yes, he would
- 40:59Speaker 1: be an ideal fit here. I think there are things
- 41:04Speaker 1: that Sean would want that I'm not sure Jerry would
- 41:06Speaker 1: concede to him. And the other part of the equation
- 41:11Speaker 1: is Jerry's never really believed in paying head coach is
- 41:14Speaker 1: at the very top of the spectrum and that's what
- 41:16Speaker 1: Sean Payton is going to demand. And not only that,
- 41:19Speaker 1: but because he has time on his contract left with
- 41:22Speaker 1: the New Orleans Saints, you have to compensate the New
- 41:25Speaker 1: Orleans Saints before you can theoretically even talk to Sean Payton.
- 41:28Speaker 1: So Jerry Jones gonna want to give away part of
- 41:30Speaker 1: next year's draft and pay Sean Payton as much as
- 41:34Speaker 1: any coach in the NFL makes? Or does he maybe think, Hey,
- 41:39Speaker 1: Dan Quinn has been a head coach, he coached the
- 41:41Speaker 1: team to a super bowl. Look at the culture he's
- 41:44Speaker 1: created here on defense. I love what I've seen from
- 41:47Speaker 1: Dan Quinn. The players embraced Dan Quinn. Maybe Dan Quinn.
- 41:52Speaker 1: I think Dan Quinn is definitely the most serious competitor
- 41:56Speaker 1: Um to Sean Payton, and it would be interesting to
- 41:58Speaker 1: me because if Jerry thinks that this season is not
- 42:02Speaker 1: going to meet his expectations and that at the end
- 42:05Speaker 1: of it he's likely to be looking for a new
- 42:06Speaker 1: head coach, would he, for only the second time in
- 42:09Speaker 1: his history, move on from his head coach during the
- 42:12Speaker 1: season so that Dan Quinn would get to essentially audition
- 42:17Speaker 1: with the current franchise, the players in the locker room,
- 42:20Speaker 1: to see how he did over a period of time
- 42:22Speaker 1: as an interim head coach? Jerry's only done that once.
- 42:25Speaker 1: That was when he fired Wade Phillips after they got
- 42:27Speaker 1: embarrassed in Green Bank and it became very obvious the
- 42:29Speaker 1: players had quit on him and at that time Jerry
- 42:33Speaker 1: had a person on the coaching staff that he viewed
- 42:36Speaker 1: as the next head coach, and that was Jason Garrett.
- 42:38Speaker 1: And that's what happened. Soapara, it's always a soap p opera.
- 42:41Speaker 1: Doesn't matter if they're good or bad or it's just
- 42:43Speaker 1: a soap barbara all the time. You know, I always
- 42:44Speaker 1: tell people, first of all, there's no question I wouldn't
- 42:47Speaker 1: have had the career I've had to whatever you think
- 42:50Speaker 1: of it, I wouldn't have had it if it hadn't
- 42:52Speaker 1: been for the fact I was covering the Dallas Cowbus.
- 42:55Speaker 1: I always tell people I live in Dallas because, Um, I'm,
- 43:00Speaker 1: you know, in a American Airlines hub. I'm centrally located,
- 43:03Speaker 1: so I can go anywhere in the NFL basically nonstop
- 43:06Speaker 1: within four hours. And I got Jerry's football circus in
- 43:09Speaker 1: my backyard. Yeah, it's a good circus. If you're gonna
- 43:12Speaker 1: work there, it's a good one. I saw your twitter
- 43:15Speaker 1: and it looked like you were in Seattle the other night. Correct.
- 43:18Speaker 1: What's what was that like for us when he came
- 43:21Speaker 1: out because again, I only I saw on ESPN. I watched,
- 43:24Speaker 1: I didn't get to see. I didn't get to see
- 43:26Speaker 1: the early parts when he was coming out in the stadium,
- 43:28Speaker 1: obviously because it wasn't on television. But except on ESPN
- 43:30Speaker 1: when they were showing some of the clips. What was
- 43:32Speaker 1: it like to be there when he came out and
- 43:33Speaker 1: were you like come on, guys, or are you like okay,
- 43:35Speaker 1: I get it, you're booing him because he asked to
- 43:36Speaker 1: be traded? Well, yeah, a lot of people expected some
- 43:40Speaker 1: kind of, you know, warm embrace from Seattle towards Russell Wilson.
- 43:44Speaker 1: I mean they all recognized that Russell was a great
- 43:47Speaker 1: player there for ten years and he won a lot
- 43:49Speaker 1: of games and he let him to super bowls and
- 43:51Speaker 1: he helped win one of those. Um that being said,
- 43:54Speaker 1: he's also an adversary. He left the franchise in part
- 43:59Speaker 1: because that's what he wanted and beyond that, he's the
- 44:02Speaker 1: opposing quarterback right now. So I think at the end
- 44:05Speaker 1: of Russell Wilson's career there will be some grand spectacle and,
- 44:10Speaker 1: you know, some acknowledgement of what he's done. Maybe they'll
- 44:14Speaker 1: retire his number. But I didn't think last night was
- 44:17Speaker 1: the night for that, or the other night was the
- 44:19Speaker 1: night for that. He came in as a Denver Broncos
- 44:21Speaker 1: quarterback and he came in as a Denver Broncos quarterback
- 44:23Speaker 1: because that's what he wanted. I thought the most interesting
- 44:26Speaker 1: part of the whole thing, and it was a compelling night,
- 44:28Speaker 1: I mean for Russell Wilson, in his first game with
- 44:31Speaker 1: Nathaniel Hackett as his coach, to essentially have the coach
- 44:35Speaker 1: decide I'm taking the ball out of your hands and
- 44:36Speaker 1: I'm I'm gonna have the kicker attempt the second longest
- 44:40Speaker 1: field goal in NFL history. Um in the place where
- 44:44Speaker 1: you were a hero. Had to be a difficult start
- 44:48Speaker 1: to that relationship. But beyond that, it was interesting to
- 44:51Speaker 1: me as somebody who covered those. Seattle a legion of
- 44:55Speaker 1: boom teams when they were at their best and they
- 44:56Speaker 1: went to two super bowls and they're one of the
- 44:58Speaker 1: dominant teams in the League. It was interesting to me
- 45:01Speaker 1: to see the number of former players from that era
- 45:04Speaker 1: who were back at the game, who were on the sidelines.
- 45:07Speaker 1: You know it's marshawn Lynch and Doug Bald went in,
- 45:10Speaker 1: uh cliff averall and kJ right. That just all kinds
- 45:15Speaker 1: of former players, and they were there not because they
- 45:19Speaker 1: wanted to watch Russell Wilson. It was because they did
- 45:23Speaker 1: not appreciate the way Pete Carroll, for allowed Russell to
- 45:31Speaker 1: be bigger than everybody else on the team. They thought
- 45:35Speaker 1: it was hypocritical and they wanted this moment. They wanted
- 45:39Speaker 1: to stand there and basically, Pete, we expect you to
- 45:42Speaker 1: return to the culture you created here. Run the football,
- 45:46Speaker 1: play great defense. It's not about the quarter of appeasing
- 45:50Speaker 1: the quarterback, and that's exactly what Pete did, and Pete
- 45:53Speaker 1: kind of suggested all of that was true in his
- 45:56Speaker 1: comments on the radio after the game. Like three minutes
- 45:59Speaker 1: left with that, and so just some quick answers here.
- 46:01Speaker 1: Do you think, and you're a Colorado guy at least
- 46:03Speaker 1: born there. I don't know if you're a broncos follower
- 46:06Speaker 1: like every single day, but do you think the Broncos can,
- 46:09Speaker 1: can win with Russ as their quarterback this year? Absolutely,
- 46:12Speaker 1: I think that they're in the toughest division in Football
- 46:16Speaker 1: Um and they've seen since the peyton manning super bowl
- 46:19Speaker 1: that they haven't made the playoffs for six consecutive years.
- 46:23Speaker 1: They recognize that you're not going to be competitive really
- 46:26Speaker 1: anywhere in the NFL, but certainly not in a division
- 46:28Speaker 1: with Patrick Mahomes and uh, you know, Herbert and Derek Carr,
- 46:36Speaker 1: unless you have a quarterback. And they've gone from having
- 46:38Speaker 1: the worst quarterback in the situation division to arguably the
- 46:42Speaker 1: second best, depending on whether you put them above Herbert.
- 46:46Speaker 1: Final two questions. I watched the Eagles and lions and
- 46:48Speaker 1: I watched the whole game and they both looked really
- 46:52Speaker 1: good and really bad, depending on if you're an offensive
- 46:53Speaker 1: guy or defensive guy. Are those teams really good or
- 46:56Speaker 1: really bad, or are they just still figuring it out?
- 46:58Speaker 1: I think Philadelphia is good. I mean they made the
- 47:00Speaker 1: playoffs last year. I think the question I had coming
- 47:03Speaker 1: in was, well, is Jalen hurts going to evolve as
- 47:07Speaker 1: a passer? You know, they got it. Made a major
- 47:09Speaker 1: trade in the first round of the draft and got
- 47:10Speaker 1: him a J Brown from the Tennessee Titans who's an
- 47:12Speaker 1: elite receiver, a big, physical guy, an easy target, and
- 47:16Speaker 1: I think they he showed what he could do the
- 47:18Speaker 1: other night, the other day day, on opening day, when
- 47:20Speaker 1: they did narrowly win by three points, but they scored
- 47:22Speaker 1: a lot of points and they achieved some record of
- 47:26Speaker 1: scoring over eighty points against the same opponent in consecutive
- 47:30Speaker 1: meetings without a single passing touchdown. They did it all
- 47:35Speaker 1: on the ground in terms of scoring. The same kind
- 47:37Speaker 1: of question. As far as the forty niners and the
- 47:39Speaker 1: bears listen, it was raining so hard you couldn't even see.
- 47:42Speaker 1: The cameras were wet. Right. So are the forty niners
- 47:45Speaker 1: and trey lands? Are They not that good? Or are
- 47:50Speaker 1: the bears gonna be better than everyone expected? Look, I
- 47:52Speaker 1: I like Matt Abral Flus, the news bears coach. I
- 47:55Speaker 1: played golf with him. He was an assistant here in Dallas.
- 47:58Speaker 1: He deserves the opportunity has gotten. I think it's gonna
- 48:00Speaker 1: take some time. I don't think the bears are going
- 48:02Speaker 1: to contend in the NFC north with the packers and
- 48:05Speaker 1: the Vikings. I think the Vikings might be the biggest
- 48:07Speaker 1: surprise in the NFL this year. Um, with their new coach,
- 48:10Speaker 1: Kevin O'CONNELL, coming over from the Rams Um. I think
- 48:14Speaker 1: the forty niners are gonna be a fascinating watch because
- 48:17Speaker 1: it's very clear to everybody that this is a team
- 48:21Speaker 1: that has everything necessary to contend to get back to
- 48:24Speaker 1: the super bowl again. Um, and the quarterback they're not playing,
- 48:29Speaker 1: Jimmy Garoppolo right now, is more equipped to win than
- 48:32Speaker 1: the quarterback they are playing now, Trey Lance, a young
- 48:35Speaker 1: player who's, you know, going through some difficulties, as every
- 48:39Speaker 1: you know, young quarterback does, but he came in with
- 48:42Speaker 1: so little experience. I mean he had the fewest passing
- 48:45Speaker 1: attempts among any top ten, any quarterback drafted in the
- 48:49Speaker 1: top ten in history, and so he didn't have a
- 48:51Speaker 1: lot of experience in college football. U. He came from
- 48:54Speaker 1: a smaller school and now he's got to play for
- 48:57Speaker 1: the forty niners in a very competitive divisions. I think
- 49:01Speaker 1: that bears watching that situation there with Jimmy Garoppolo, Trey
- 49:04Speaker 1: Lance and Kyle shanning. Edward, all massive fans again. We've
- 49:07Speaker 1: watched you and respected you for so long. We're grateful
- 49:10Speaker 1: that you would spend time with us and everybody you
- 49:12Speaker 1: can follow Ed warder, Ed Espn. Thank you for talking
- 49:15Speaker 1: to us, pnzed. That's basically one yes. Thank you all right, ed,
- 49:19Speaker 1: have a great day. Thank you for any of you
- 49:21Speaker 1: guys did quite that way. Thanks for having me on
- 49:24Speaker 1: and I hope we can do it again sometimes by
- 49:27Speaker 1: great interview from Edward. I appreciate it. On Monday. I'm
- 49:30Speaker 1: I've already done it. If you love wrestling, Diamond Dallas
- 49:33Speaker 1: page having for forty five minutes and we talked him
- 49:35Speaker 1: wrestling sting and Goldberg and it's really cool. So that
- 49:39Speaker 1: should be on Monday coming up here, and please go
- 49:43Speaker 1: and rate this thing something. Please give it all the stars.
- 49:46Speaker 1: How many of the let's make we need it. It's
- 49:49Speaker 1: still a new podcast and also we're gonna move off
- 49:52Speaker 1: the Bobby won't show feed eventually. So if you don't
- 49:53Speaker 1: mind subscribing over there. We're just a mom and pop podcast.
- 49:57Speaker 1: We're just start up. We need your help, honestly. So
- 49:59Speaker 1: we appreciate that and tell your friends about it. Just
- 50:01Speaker 1: very grateful that you guys would listen here. What game
- 50:04Speaker 1: are you looking forward to most? Around the room it
- 50:07Speaker 1: could be college or NFL. What game you're looking forward
- 50:10Speaker 1: to most? Let's go over to Eddie. Oh, I want
- 50:13Speaker 1: to see the Tennessee Titans and the buffalo bills Monday night.
- 50:16Speaker 1: I do want to see I can't wait for that
- 50:17Speaker 1: and I have to wait all weekend for that, but
- 50:19Speaker 1: I just think that the bills, I mean we were
- 50:22Speaker 1: shocked at how good they how awesome they came out
- 50:25Speaker 1: week one, and then the titans, like I don't think
- 50:29Speaker 1: that they had it all together. I want to see him.
- 50:32Speaker 1: I want to see him play a really, really good team.
- 50:34Speaker 1: There they are in buffalo and I think after this
- 50:37Speaker 1: game we'll know exactly how the titans are gonna be
- 50:39Speaker 1: this season. It's the kind of gain the titans win to. Honestly,
- 50:42Speaker 1: could be I don't think they're going to, but it's
- 50:44Speaker 1: just the kind of game that they win and they
- 50:46Speaker 1: often played in their competition, which is weird because they
- 50:48Speaker 1: have played that's so weird week. Yeah, yeah, yeah, so
- 50:52Speaker 1: I like that what you got over there at kickoff, Kevin.
- 50:54Speaker 1: What's the game you're looking forward to seeing? I'M gonna
- 50:56Speaker 1: stick with Monday night and go the other game. That's
- 50:58Speaker 1: the vikings an eagle. I think just coming off of
- 51:01Speaker 1: the first week, both of these teams look good offensively.
- 51:05Speaker 1: Jalen hurts look good, Kirk cousins looked good Justin Jefferson
- 51:08Speaker 1: looked good. So I'm excited to see if it kind
- 51:10Speaker 1: of holds through with the week two and these two
- 51:12Speaker 1: teams going on it from me. I'm looking forward to
- 51:14Speaker 1: see if Texas and M whoops Miami. They kind of
- 51:16Speaker 1: have to. They have to win or the wheels are
- 51:19Speaker 1: just completely off. They're not gonna fire Jimbo Fisher, but
- 51:22Speaker 1: that's a bad APP state loss. That's what that's the
- 51:25Speaker 1: game people are talking about, not the Notre Dame one
- 51:27Speaker 1: as much, because there were a lot of those. It's
- 51:29Speaker 1: the Texas A and M game. It's the an SEC
- 51:33Speaker 1: school number six in the country at home. We could
- 51:36Speaker 1: keep going on and on to see if Texas and
- 51:39Speaker 1: M just takes care of business with Miami. That's what
- 51:41Speaker 1: I'm I'm looking forward to seeing. Did you see that
- 51:43Speaker 1: College Game Day is going to be an APP state.
- 51:47Speaker 1: They're going to a state. I didn't know that. Hilarious.
- 51:51Speaker 1: Troy also. That's funny. And there's also not another big game. Really. Yeah,
- 51:56Speaker 1: they're there are a couple of like medium games, but
- 51:59Speaker 1: that great for AP steak because it's awesome. They gotta
- 52:03Speaker 1: clean it up a little bit before they get there,
- 52:05Speaker 1: but yeah, true. I didn't know that though. That's awesome. Okay,
- 52:10Speaker 1: what do you got, Adam? It's gonna seem a little
- 52:12Speaker 1: bit random, but B Yu and Oregon. Uh Man B
- 52:14Speaker 1: y us just looked really good. I'm interested to see
- 52:16Speaker 1: if Oregon can bounce back and look good against the
- 52:20Speaker 1: solid B Y U team. By is just tough there.
- 52:23Speaker 1: They run the ball hard, they played good defense. Um,
- 52:25Speaker 1: they're gonna make there. They're gonna make you beat them
- 52:28Speaker 1: or they're gonna make you beat yourself. Is kind of
- 52:30Speaker 1: the name of their game. I feel like that. I
- 52:32Speaker 1: mean that's the other good game. If you look at
- 52:35Speaker 1: the Games where two teams and next week it kind
- 52:37Speaker 1: of gets rolling with a lot of the school is
- 52:39Speaker 1: actually playing people. Uh. But yeah, I think those are
- 52:42Speaker 1: four good Games. You know, to college to NFL, what
- 52:45Speaker 1: do you like? What do you if you got one
- 52:48Speaker 1: day to watch, Saturday or Sunday? What do you watch? Sunday, Saturday, Saturday, Saturday?
- 52:53Speaker 1: Really it's close. It's close, especially with fantasy and and I,
- 52:58Speaker 1: you know, bought teams and doing all the crap. But
- 53:01Speaker 1: I just love college football so much. I'm surprised, Kevin,
- 53:03Speaker 1: you said that being from Boston, where it's not really
- 53:05Speaker 1: that that culture is not there. Well, I'm actually from California,
- 53:08Speaker 1: but where it's not. Everything about him is like Boston.
- 53:14Speaker 1: BOSTON BOSTON, I know, but I think that's why, because
- 53:16Speaker 1: I'm not I don't know, for whatever reason, college football
- 53:19Speaker 1: has always been at the top of my list, ahead
- 53:22Speaker 1: of all my teams. Maybe it's because I don't even
- 53:23Speaker 1: have a real team, I guess. But Um, I think
- 53:26Speaker 1: the fan base, of the atmosphere is what gets it
- 53:28Speaker 1: for me. Give him my parlays in a second, but
- 53:30Speaker 1: first let's go over to Adam and let's do Adam stats.
- 53:36Speaker 1: Adam has all what you got, Adam. I got that
- 53:43Speaker 1: incredible intro from it. That's amazing. First, bobby, I gotta
- 53:47Speaker 1: give you a big Pat on the back because you've
- 53:48Speaker 1: been talking about Patrick mahomes coming out with something to
- 53:50Speaker 1: prove without tardy kill. He did that in week one. Um. Nine.
- 53:54Speaker 1: That's the number of people who caught passes for Patrick Mahomes. Um.
- 53:58Speaker 1: He spread the ball around, he was mad and plays
- 54:00Speaker 1: with his arm and nine, nine. Um. So so that
- 54:05Speaker 1: was one. That was more of just a pat on
- 54:06Speaker 1: the back. My question is, and all the stuff that's
- 54:09Speaker 1: been made of the cowboys looking like a trash sandwich
- 54:12Speaker 1: on Sunday. They look terrible and uh, and the lot
- 54:15Speaker 1: has been made of that. But one thing I feel
- 54:16Speaker 1: like it's kind of been passed up. Is Brady turning
- 54:18Speaker 1: in an eighteen, two, twelve yard, one touchdown, one pick performance?
- 54:23Speaker 1: That was good for eleven in the League in Qbr
- 54:26Speaker 1: so what that tells me is like, not quite sharp.
- 54:30Speaker 1: But my question is, against that cowboys defense in week one,
- 54:34Speaker 1: does that change what you think the bucks can accomplish
- 54:37Speaker 1: this year, or is it just an aberration? It's week one,
- 54:40Speaker 1: so we gotta kind of go aberration, even though Tom
- 54:42Speaker 1: Brady we hold him to a higher standard. Also, again,
- 54:44Speaker 1: they have offensive line issues too. It's that's a real thing.
- 54:48Speaker 1: You can put Tom Brady behind a bad offensive line.
- 54:51Speaker 1: Is Not Tom Brady anymore. I'm not worried, honestly. It's
- 54:55Speaker 1: it's week one for a week four, then I'm going
- 55:00Speaker 1: you know, but even with Brady, I'm still not gonna
- 55:01Speaker 1: be worried. I think physically he's still there. I don't
- 55:03Speaker 1: know what's happening at home. I mean we think we
- 55:05Speaker 1: know what's happening at home, but you know, over under
- 55:08Speaker 1: on if Giselle leaves this year, next year, he's even
- 55:12Speaker 1: saying stuff like I wanted to be home. Yeah, Um,
- 55:15Speaker 1: I think it's fine. I think it's fine. Think I
- 55:17Speaker 1: think the bucks can still win the division. I think
- 55:20Speaker 1: they because they have Tom Brady. Think they still win
- 55:22Speaker 1: at all. Eddie, I don't know. I mean I don't
- 55:26Speaker 1: I think the cowboys really the defense is is so good,
- 55:29Speaker 1: especially that past defense. It's just the only way they scored.
- 55:34Speaker 1: And they moved the ball with with Dallas was running
- 55:36Speaker 1: the ball for net just demolished the cowboys defense and
- 55:39Speaker 1: I think that just showed we really can't see what
- 55:42Speaker 1: Brady can do. I think the credit goes to the
- 55:44Speaker 1: cowboys defense on Sunday night's performance. Kevin, yeah, I'm with Eddie.
- 55:48Speaker 1: Just kind of pickyback on that. I think their game
- 55:50Speaker 1: plan was just to run the football and Leonard Four
- 55:52Speaker 1: Nette Look Great. He folded us. He as fat as
- 55:55Speaker 1: he said he was and he continued to be fat
- 56:00Speaker 1: all the time five years ago. And then they lost
- 56:03Speaker 1: their left tackle in the beginning going against Michael Parsons.
- 56:06Speaker 1: So I just think their game plan was a runing football.
- 56:08Speaker 1: All right, there it is, then not. That's that's a
- 56:10Speaker 1: really good stat that. Patrick mahomes nine more than even
- 56:13Speaker 1: though they had that many eligible receivers. They did, and
- 56:15Speaker 1: that's why it's crazy guard and nine guys at once.
- 56:18Speaker 1: It's like seven man football with nine receivers. All right,
- 56:21Speaker 1: there we go. That's that's Adams stats. He's got those stats.
- 56:27Speaker 1: Four you. Okay. So I'M gonna get to my parley
- 56:34Speaker 1: here in a second. And you can bet this because

- 57:33Speaker 1: eight hundred nine nine seven, eight nine, New York called
- 57:35Speaker 1: eight seven seven, eight, hope and Y or text hope
- 57:37Speaker 1: and why? Four six seven, three six nine. Okay, my
- 57:40Speaker 1: parlay of the week. It's gonna BE UP ON DRAFT KINGS,
- 57:42Speaker 1: which I hope you hope you see it here. I
- 57:44Speaker 1: really was thinking about being brave and just because I
- 57:47Speaker 1: have nails in threes, I was gonna go with a fiber.
- 57:50Speaker 1: But I can't. I can't because that's just not smart.
- 57:52Speaker 1: I wouldn't bet this fiber. So I can't and I
- 57:55Speaker 1: will everything I put out there. I bet and the
- 57:57Speaker 1: drunk doesn't give any money not to bet with. I
- 58:01Speaker 1: wish they did. I'm betting my own money here. There
- 58:04Speaker 1: you go, fiber. I can't. I can't. So here's what
- 58:08Speaker 1: I'm gonna do. As we record this, lines can change
- 58:12Speaker 1: a half point, who knows what. But we record this,
- 58:15Speaker 1: you know, often on Thursdays before even happens. So when
- 58:20Speaker 1: I say this, I still stick because lines are gonna
- 58:22Speaker 1: change so much I wouldn't worry about any of these,
- 58:24Speaker 1: even as the line moved half a point, a point,
- 58:27Speaker 1: and I don't know. I'm going Georgia and right now
- 58:32Speaker 1: Georgia over South Carolina and it's showing up as Georgia
- 58:36Speaker 1: giving up twenty four points. That's it. South Carolina's got
- 58:38Speaker 1: two starters are out. I told you guys in the
- 58:40Speaker 1: episode Monday I was already leaning on that. They got
- 58:43Speaker 1: to two starters. They got three other guys at last
- 58:45Speaker 1: I saw were questionable. And so I'm going to Georgia.
- 58:51Speaker 1: I mean it's three touchdowns, point conversions, all it is.
- 58:55Speaker 1: Not they're going to do that. But Georgia twenty four,
- 58:58Speaker 1: I would probably bet it at twenties sticks, honestly. Um,
- 59:02Speaker 1: I'm going to Alabama and Alabama is giving up right now.
- 59:06Speaker 1: Forty nine. They're playing Louisiana Monroe and they're angry. They
- 59:12Speaker 1: are they are very they're angry and if they weren't angry,
- 59:15Speaker 1: I wouldn't touch this game, not week three. But I'm
- 59:18Speaker 1: going to Alabama and I'm taking the forty and I'm
- 59:22Speaker 1: going to Alabama giving up the points and screw what.
- 59:25Speaker 1: I'm going to four. I'M gonna go for not down before,
- 59:29Speaker 1: but I'm gonna do it for uh Texas. I think
- 59:32Speaker 1: they're angry. I like angry s are angry from that game,
- 59:35Speaker 1: like angry schools. Uh Texas is not even a two
- 59:39Speaker 1: touchdown favorite and I think Texas given up twelve and
- 59:43Speaker 1: a half as of right now. It could change. The
- 59:45Speaker 1: third team, I'm good. I'm good all the way to fourteen.
- 59:47Speaker 1: Probably Texas at U T S A or playing uts A,
- 59:51Speaker 1: and UTSA's pretty good. Rotors were really good last year.
- 59:54Speaker 1: They were whispered to be, you know, a team that
- 59:55Speaker 1: could sneak in. They were never going to, but they're
- 59:57Speaker 1: they're they're good. They're good, but I think they're angry.
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: And then my final game. Oh, you in Nebraska? Oh, yeah,
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: I think Nebraska is just I think they're sad, they're broken.
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: It's not like my wife. Yeah, I think there's definitely
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: they're gonna be mad they're sad. I think they're sad. So, Oh, you,
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: as of this recording right now, which you may change,
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: is minus eleven playing Nebraska, and I think Nebraska is
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: like they're either gonna come out and we're gonna play
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: for our assistant coach, who we love. But did they
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: even have the so those those are my four. Who
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: One of four? If I hit it, guys, if I
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: hit this, I mean that's it. It's over. It's over, Dude,
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: you are the king. It's it's it's just put the
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: crown on head. But I'm hitting that four. There we go,
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: draft kings, be sure to get in. It's awesome. The
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: code is Bobby Sports. Before we go, Eddie, I do
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: want to come to you. If I were to say,
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: make one bet and you bet your car significant in
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: my car. Yeah, what's your eddies? Bet My car better
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: the week. Okay, know, I look at the board and
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: I think that, Um, New England's playing Pittsburgh and New England,
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: what we saw is not very good yet. They'll figure
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: it out. But Tomlin, to me, just somehow figures it out.
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: It doesn't matter who he has, what his squad is,
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: Tomlin figures out games and he's they are an underdog.
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: Never never had a losing record. They're an underdog at
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: home against New England. No offense, Kevin, and I think
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: that they could win this game, but just take that
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: one point. So I would bet your car. If you'RE
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: gonna bet your car, well, well, yeah, yeah, but if
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: you have more than one car, but the crappier one,
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: put on Pittsburgh plus one. All right, my kit. That
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: song for us, please. Thank you again, everybody. We've you've
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: turned this into, honestly, a small success and we just
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: wouldn't be able to do without you. I think everybody's
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: going wow, people actually listen to that. They do, and
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: we say that too. They do, as in people do listen,
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: or people say people are really saying that question. Everywhere
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: I go, I don't even know what's and they're keep
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: my people listen to what a dumpster fire that is. Mike,
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: and you're gonna find out if I can say more
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: smiles than frowns. I will check on that. Right. If
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: I were a lawyer, I'd say, yes, we have more smiles. Hey,
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: bet with me, more smiles and frowns, because what am
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: I actually promising? More smiles? Miles? Yeah, it could be
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: about anything. Final thought, Eddie Oh man. Final thought is
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: I just feel like kickers need to get paid more.
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: When I saw the Rodrigo blanket ship thing go down,
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: they tied. The game ended in a tie. It's week
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: one and you fired your kicker, the dude that has
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: the most color and flare of your team, with a
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: black rim glasses like. I just feel like that's a
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: high stress situation. Forget Zekiel, forget Dak Prescott, forget these
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: big contracts on quarterbacks. You gotta Pay Your kicker a
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: lot of money because they go through a lot of stress. Kickoff, Kevin.
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: My final thought comes from Miami last week. I don't
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: know if he saw it. Do you not leave your
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: barbecue underneath your car, or else eleven cars will go
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: up in flames and you will come out of the
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: game and see your car all burnt up. That's tough
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: to see. So don't do that. That's tough to see, Adam.
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: Week two was a toast stubborn this week in college
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: football I have ever seen. Watching Notre Dame go down,
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: watching Texas A and M go down. That was just amazing.
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: I even bet the the money line on Texas and
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: the under thanks to my Buddy Brett Young. He was
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: his idea and we were one point away from one end.
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: That's how they get you. My hopes were so high.
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: How they get but but exactly, exactly. But the week
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: was so fun. I love that's why I love college football.
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: That's why Saturday is my day, because anything can happen,
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: especially early in the season. So Week too, uh, dumpster
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: fire for some, but it was glorious and I loved it. Uh.
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: My thoughts are if you're looking for cheap gets now
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: in fantasy that didn't have a good week one, you
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: make a trade. Um, I would try to get pickings
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: in Pittsburgh. He's a rookie. I think he only had
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: one catch. Again, he's a rookie, but he he like
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: that dude, as they say. He's a dog for her.
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: He's an athlete. He is a really good wide receiver.
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: Big Guy Traisky's gonna look for him more. Uh, you
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: can probably get him a cheap price right now and
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: maybe for the next couple of weeks. So I would
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: say pickens is one of those. I would even still
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: look at Traylon Burke's Um. He had three catches for
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: five yards. I think. I think that was his line Um.
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: It'll be a few weeks before he really really consistently contributes.
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: But they're looking for somebody too, to be able to
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: be that guy in and not not the tyreek Hill Guy,
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: but to be a guy that can play in the
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: middle and make receptions in Tennessee, probably they don't have
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: a quarterback that can do it consistently. Get him the ball.
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: So I would say Traylon Brooks is probably another one.
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: And then on the fearmouth for the tight en of Pittsburgh.
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: He's gonna be good all year and this may be
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: one of the last chances you have to get him
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: for a decent price to we had a good week
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: last weekend. He put up like thirteen points or something.
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: But that's who trabisk he's looking for. Every time I
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: mentioned pickens, sometimes you have to he doesn't have time
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: to get to them. These guys love their tight ends
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: and they're checkdowns, and now she's out Pittsburgh. So those
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: are the three picks I would give you guys in
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: fantasy right now. Thank you, if you know you're in
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: my league. Thanks. Hey, Mike. We have Divon Dallas Page
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: on next week. Do we have an idea who's gonna
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: be on next Friday? Let me look at the schedule.
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: Maybe Jay Glazer next Friday. We have Ricky Williams on
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: the on the agenda two coming up. So and rich
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: rich eyes. Oh Man, that was worth the way. That's
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: that's pretty cool. Huh. All right, you guys. Have a
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: great weekend. Uh, more smiles and frowns. Hey, that's what
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: you give just for listening to this show until than, frowns.
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: All right, have a good week by everybody. Forget all
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: the time, at every time, Mike, you get your whistle on.
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: Have you ever blown us out? Yes, one time, all right,
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: blow us again. There is we'll see you next week. Everybody,
