- 1:37Speaker 1: It's a big NFL preview show, brought to you by
- 1:39Speaker 1: Draftking Sportsbook, Buldi West Letty. All right, let's talk in NFL.
- 1:43Speaker 1: So what we'll do is we'll go through each division, Eddie, Kevin, myself,
- 1:49Speaker 1: we'll pick the division winner, and then we'll celebrate ourselves
- 1:54Speaker 1: because we'll obviously be very wrong. This is kind of
- 1:58Speaker 1: how it works, you know. Someting not team that audio
- 2:00Speaker 1: playoffs that did in the year before will start AFC South,
- 2:04Speaker 1: which traditionally the last few years has been a very
- 2:07Speaker 1: weak conference. UH Texans, Jags, Colts, and Titans. Texans were
- 2:14Speaker 1: ten and seven last year. Obviously, c J. Stroud, Who
- 2:18Speaker 1: do you think is going to be that number one
- 2:19Speaker 1: wide receiver over there? Tank Dell?
- 2:22Speaker 2: Do you think it's they got Robert Woods too?
- 2:24Speaker 3: Well?
- 2:24Speaker 1: No? And also they just got uh yeah, and he's
- 2:29Speaker 1: already complaining. Nico Collins Dix is complaining every play already,
- 2:34Speaker 1: like even preseason. Hey, I'm here, I'm hoping throw the ball,
- 2:37Speaker 1: like if the camera stays on him, just lecturing Stroud
- 2:39Speaker 1: the whole time. So, uh, Texans, Jags, Colts and Titans.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Probably I'm going to assume I think the Texans won
- 2:47Speaker 1: the division?
- 2:47Speaker 5: Right?
- 2:48Speaker 1: Does anyone not think it's the Texans?
- 2:49Speaker 2: No?
- 2:51Speaker 6: No, I mean I want to hope maybe the Colts
- 2:54Speaker 6: and Anthony Richardson can kind of turn that thing around,
- 2:56Speaker 6: But I don't see.
- 2:57Speaker 1: I would think the Jags is more than the Colts
- 3:00Speaker 1: another year. Doug Peterson, Trevor Lawrence, who I still think
- 3:03Speaker 1: is really good. We've seen him win a playoff game,
- 3:07Speaker 1: We've seen him be almost great at times, where Anthony
- 3:11Speaker 1: Richardson he was like lightning in a bottle for a
- 3:13Speaker 1: few games and he got hurt, Like we're really I'm
- 3:16Speaker 1: gonna go Texans, Jags, Colts, Titans. But the I don't
- 3:22Speaker 1: know if the over unders on the Titans, but I
- 3:24Speaker 1: do feel like they may win a few more games
- 3:27Speaker 1: than people think. I don't think they're as terrible or
- 3:31Speaker 1: they're gonna be as terrible. Obviously, levis a lot's gonna
- 3:34Speaker 1: depend on that.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Losing Derrick Henry. I mean, they did.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Their offensive lines a little better, but with Derek they're terrible.
- 3:42Speaker 1: No quarterback, no offensive line. They have a whole new
- 3:45Speaker 1: offense though Derrick Henry would not have fit in the
- 3:48Speaker 1: offense because you got the offensive corner. For the Bengals,
- 3:52Speaker 1: they need pass catching running back, so they have two
- 3:55Speaker 1: spears and your boy from the Cowboys.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Yeah, you got Pollard.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Yeah, so they got some weapons though. Yeah, and especially
- 4:05Speaker 1: if Hopkins comes back healthy, it's.
- 4:08Speaker 7: Five and a half wins, total wins.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Five and a half. You gotta go over that.
- 4:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:11Speaker 1: I would think over too. But it felt so easy
- 4:13Speaker 1: that I have to be wrong, I know, because anytime
- 4:15Speaker 1: I think, oh for sure, I'm so wrong. Right, So
- 4:19Speaker 1: we're all going Texans.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Yeah, you have to.
- 4:22Speaker 1: What's the headline for the Texans? Can they do it again?
- 4:26Speaker 1: That's the headline. Can they surprise because it's not a surprise.
- 4:28Speaker 1: But can they can they prove? Can they prove us?
- 4:32Speaker 1: Prove them right? That's the headline. What's the headline for
- 4:35Speaker 1: the Jaguars. You just paid them a bunch of money
- 4:40Speaker 1: and you got a Super Bowl coach, so now win?
- 4:44Speaker 7: Yeah, can Trevor Lawrence?
- 4:45Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. Pay Yeah, prove everybody right? Yeah,
- 4:50Speaker 1: he's What about the Colts? Is it all Anthony Richardson?
- 4:54Speaker 2: All Anthony Richardson?
- 4:54Speaker 7: Yea, because Gardner almost took him to playoffs?
- 4:57Speaker 1: Gardner didn't make the Pro Bowl, but so did die exactly.
- 5:01Speaker 7: Everyone Richardson just has to be pretty good.
- 5:06Speaker 1: I don't think pretty good as a floor. I think
- 5:10Speaker 1: awful is the floor. And I don't think he can
- 5:15Speaker 1: play and be pretty good. I think he's either awful
- 5:17Speaker 1: or a freaking amazing with just his style of play. Like,
- 5:21Speaker 1: I don't think he's just gonna sit in the pocket
- 5:23Speaker 1: and throw twenty two balls. So it's can Anthony richards
- 5:28Speaker 1: stay healthy? Who is Anthony Richardson? Yeah that might be
- 5:31Speaker 1: the headline? Who is anything like that?
- 5:33Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 5:34Speaker 7: Well stand up, see you went too far?
- 5:38Speaker 2: Well, the real Anthony Richardson please stand up.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Please stand up and not be injured. Yeah, without crutches.
- 5:45Speaker 1: But Jonathan Taylor, it is like he's part of the
- 5:47Speaker 1: team as the season starts. For last year, it was
- 5:49Speaker 1: all dramatic, like he wanted his money. And I'm always
- 5:52Speaker 1: for everybody getting paid because their live spans, their careers
- 5:55Speaker 1: are very short. The AFC North last year, the Ravens
- 5:58Speaker 1: were thirteen to four, the Browns were eleven and six,
- 6:00Speaker 1: the Steelers ten and seven, and the Bengals nine and eight,
- 6:03Speaker 1: which he had four winning teams. What's interesting about this
- 6:07Speaker 1: is the Bengals went nine and eight without a healthy Borrow,
- 6:11Speaker 1: and so that's always like, that's everyone talking about the
- 6:16Speaker 1: Bengals this year.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Period.
- 6:17Speaker 1: If Burrow stays healthy, we're going to remove that from
- 6:20Speaker 1: our vernacular because the same thing if Lamar stays healthy.
- 6:23Speaker 1: And sure, Burrow has a history of the last couple
- 6:25Speaker 1: of years of not being healthy, but Lamar had a
- 6:27Speaker 1: run and not being healthy. I mean, all these quarterbacks
- 6:30Speaker 1: have injury seasons that they've been through. So everybody's healthy
- 6:37Speaker 1: in this perfect world. Okay, we're in a vacum. Everybody's healthy. Ravens,
- 6:41Speaker 1: can they get Lamar to the Super Bowl? That's the
- 6:44Speaker 1: big question. Derrick Henry, I think is going to be boss.
- 6:46Speaker 1: I think Derrick Henry is going to thrive. They have
- 6:50Speaker 1: a pretty good offensive line. I'd say seven out of ten.
- 6:54Speaker 1: They have a pretty good offensive line. Henry him were
- 6:56Speaker 1: for like a three out of ten offensive line. The
- 6:59Speaker 1: focus is not just going to be on Derrick Henry.
- 7:01Speaker 1: It can't be because Lamar is where the focus has
- 7:04Speaker 1: gotta be. Mark Andrews back healthy. There's freaking awesome when
- 7:07Speaker 1: he's healthy.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Say Flowers. So we got receivers.
- 7:13Speaker 1: The Ravens are gonna be lethal. So I'm gonna go
- 7:17Speaker 1: with the Bengals winning the No, dang, what a ropid dope,
- 7:21Speaker 1: I'm gonna go with the Bengals winning the division. So
- 7:23Speaker 1: I'm picking the Bengals.
- 7:24Speaker 6: Eddie, I'm going Ravens. I think the Ravens are too
- 7:27Speaker 6: stacked to not win that division. Oh yeah, the Bengals
- 7:29Speaker 6: are gonna be a threat, for sure. It's gonna be tight,
- 7:31Speaker 6: but I think at the end the Ravens are gonna
- 7:33Speaker 6: take it.
- 7:34Speaker 7: Kevin, Yeah, I'm gonna go with the Ravens too. I
- 7:37Speaker 7: want to say the Bengals, but I just trust the
- 7:40Speaker 7: Ravens a little bit more.
- 7:41Speaker 1: The only person to look down my homes and beat
- 7:43Speaker 1: him Joe Burrow, I know, and he's healthy.
- 7:49Speaker 6: Are you guys just riding off the Steelers? But oh yeah, no,
- 7:52Speaker 6: we can get there because it is a two man race.
- 7:55Speaker 6: I think we can get there. I think the Browns
- 7:58Speaker 6: are gonna be pretty good. Yeah, they got a shot
- 8:01Speaker 6: to make the playoffs. Yeah, I don't know they're gonna
- 8:03Speaker 6: win because remember, everybody's healthy.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Guys's healthy. I don't know that they can win the division.
- 8:08Speaker 1: That this is a really strong division, like all four
- 8:11Speaker 1: of the teams could have winning records. Again, the thing
- 8:13Speaker 1: about the Steelers, I just feel like they're going to
- 8:18Speaker 1: be quarterback issues all season long because I think the
- 8:20Speaker 1: players like Justin Field's way better and Fields has a
- 8:24Speaker 1: much higher upside for longer than Russ than Russ.
- 8:28Speaker 2: You think they're going to be switching them back and forth.
- 8:30Speaker 1: No, but every every quarterback gets hurt now at some
- 8:34Speaker 1: point of the season. Yeah, Like really, when you say,
- 8:37Speaker 1: like seventy percent of the quarterbacks have some issue during
- 8:40Speaker 1: the season, some much smaller than other, or they miss
- 8:42Speaker 1: a few games where they miss a game or or
- 8:44Speaker 1: so or half or like I feel like now you
- 8:46Speaker 1: kind of have to have a pretty good backup that
- 8:48Speaker 1: can come in and be serviceable. But I want to
- 8:51Speaker 1: go Bengals, Ravens, Browns Steelers. Steelers have a very tough schedule.
- 8:57Speaker 1: They may be the only team not to be above
- 8:59Speaker 1: five hundred. I don't want to go Bengals, Ravens, Browns,
- 9:03Speaker 1: Steelers with three of those teams having a shot to
- 9:05Speaker 1: make the playoffs. Eddie, what is your order?
- 9:07Speaker 6: Yeah, Sam, is you? But I'm switching Bengals and Ravens.
- 9:09Speaker 6: Ravens number one, Kevin, same as Eddie. Ravens, Bengals, Brown Steelers.
- 9:15Speaker 7: What's the headline for the Ravens Henry? Henry runs hungry?
- 9:23Speaker 2: You're a terrible headliner.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Can Lamar get as far as the super Bowl with
- 9:32Speaker 1: this squad? It's a super Bowl? When super Bowl? Can
- 9:37Speaker 1: Lamar get that far?
- 9:40Speaker 5: I like it?
- 9:41Speaker 1: Something like that. What will Lamar raise the bar?
- 9:45Speaker 2: Fair?
- 9:47Speaker 5: No, that's fair.
- 9:48Speaker 1: I really wanted to hate. That's a pretty good one
- 9:51Speaker 1: because if they don't get to the super Bowl, that's
- 9:54Speaker 1: kind of a bus for them. I don't think they
- 9:55Speaker 1: have to win it. I don't think they have to
- 9:57Speaker 1: win it for to be a bus they should get there,
- 9:59Speaker 1: but I think for them to have a successful season,
- 10:03Speaker 1: they need to get to the Super Bowl. The Bengals
- 10:09Speaker 1: can they claw their Oh you one with a tiger
- 10:16Speaker 1: Burrow makes to hear where you guys go with this?
- 10:18Speaker 7: Go ahead and Joe Burrow himself back to help to health.
- 10:23Speaker 8: There you go.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Good, that's good?
- 10:25Speaker 5: All right? I like that.
- 10:26Speaker 2: But isn't Burrow down?
- 10:28Speaker 3: Go down? Can you borrow.
- 10:30Speaker 7: Burrow out of Okay?
- 10:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I need to shut up.
- 10:35Speaker 2: I'm just the reader man. It's not making sense to me.
- 10:37Speaker 1: But uh, Deshaun Watson, anyone to a headline, you know,
- 10:44Speaker 1: like three step out.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Of that one?
- 10:46Speaker 2: I got a lot there.
- 10:47Speaker 1: Yeah, probably gonna we'll move off. Anc West Chiefs were
- 10:51Speaker 1: eleven to six last year, Raiders and Broncos both at
- 10:54Speaker 1: eight and nine and Chargers five and twelve. I would
- 10:58Speaker 1: assume we're all okay. Can the Chiefs three p? That's
- 11:04Speaker 1: that headline? We don't have to rhyme, by the way,
- 11:05Speaker 1: it's's fine to do that. It is, yeah, but that's
- 11:07Speaker 1: that's it, right. Can the Chiefs do it again? That
- 11:09Speaker 1: would be super cool if they did. Nobody hates the Chiefs.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Some people could be annoyed as the Chiefs like Patriots
- 11:14Speaker 1: fans who don't want to hear that that dynasty might
- 11:16Speaker 1: be challenging, Right, that's you. Yeah, but nobody really hates
- 11:20Speaker 1: the unless you're like Taylor Swift, and then you don't
- 11:23Speaker 1: even hate the Chiefs. Hte yourself.
- 11:26Speaker 7: Mhmm.
- 11:27Speaker 1: You can be annoyed at what the coverage is doing,
- 11:29Speaker 1: but you're not really annoyed at what they're doing. Like,
- 11:32Speaker 1: what's Travis Kelcey done that would make you not like
- 11:34Speaker 1: him other than be overexposed, which is no. Nothing that
- 11:38Speaker 1: he did.
- 11:40Speaker 7: He does he throws some temper tantrums.
- 11:43Speaker 1: On the field, Yeah doesn't Yeah, you just see him more.
- 11:46Speaker 1: I'm saying, yeah, of course he did not like Kelsey.
- 11:52Speaker 1: So let's say we think the Chiefs are gonna win it?
- 11:54Speaker 2: Yes?
- 11:55Speaker 1: Do we think the Chargers like they've got like one receiver?
- 12:00Speaker 2: Who is that?
- 12:00Speaker 1: Drone Brown? Is he their number one? I would even
- 12:02Speaker 1: looked that up. Josh Okay, got it, Josh Palm, you're right,
- 12:08Speaker 1: that's tough. Hm.
- 12:10Speaker 7: Quentin Johnson, will you do it?
- 12:11Speaker 5: Oh?
- 12:12Speaker 2: Quinton?
- 12:12Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 12:13Speaker 1: Now was he a rookie. He's a rookie second year
- 12:16Speaker 1: and they were calling him a b TCU like Crush
- 12:19Speaker 1: the TCU. They were calling him a bust. But can
- 12:21Speaker 1: you fully bust after one year and there's a coach
- 12:24Speaker 1: firing when when Stalley was a defensive coat. So Jared
- 12:28Speaker 1: Rice is kid still. It's his first year to play.
- 12:31Speaker 1: He was drafted seventh round last year. He's a big,
- 12:34Speaker 1: big guy, a thick guy.
- 12:36Speaker 2: You met him, big old butt.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Really you know my big butts?
- 12:40Speaker 5: You do?
- 12:40Speaker 1: Playing football with the Broncos and the offense that they run,
- 12:46Speaker 1: they might have found their quarterback Old Bo Yeah Bo
- 12:50Speaker 1: Nicks And maybe just because he's white and small, we're
- 12:53Speaker 1: all like Breeze Part two.
- 12:55Speaker 2: The same Bill. Yeah.
- 12:59Speaker 1: So I'm gonna go cheat Chiefs, Broncos, Chargers, Raiders, heang
- 13:04Speaker 1: Raiders last.
- 13:05Speaker 2: Uh yeah, what do they got going over there?
- 13:07Speaker 1: I was listening to a guy tell me a story
- 13:09Speaker 1: about interim coaches because with the Raiders, their coach was
- 13:13Speaker 1: an interim coach. Right, so last season those last season right?
- 13:18Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 13:18Speaker 1: So he goes in the team loves them. They win
- 13:22Speaker 1: a little bit. And the reason that a lot of
- 13:27Speaker 1: owners will let their teams with their main coaches ride
- 13:30Speaker 1: out and die and not fire them is because they
- 13:33Speaker 1: don't want an interim coach to bring new energy that's
- 13:35Speaker 1: pretty temporary into a locker room, have some winning, and
- 13:37Speaker 1: then everybody's fighting for that guy to be the coach.
- 13:39Speaker 1: When they don't have the credentials, they don't have anything
- 13:41Speaker 1: to actually be that coach other than some new energy
- 13:47Speaker 1: maybe the benefit of a positive couple of games in
- 13:50Speaker 1: the schedule. And I'm not saying that's what happened here,
- 13:53Speaker 1: but that that could be what's happened here.
- 13:55Speaker 7: That's fair.
- 13:56Speaker 2: But sometimes you can find a star like that, and
- 13:58Speaker 2: they might have I would.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Say ninety five percent to the history of time of
- 14:01Speaker 1: interim coaches. They did not find the star. If we're
- 14:05Speaker 1: playing odds, but also I just made the odds up
- 14:07Speaker 1: so that sounded good. AFC East Bills are eleven and six,
- 14:12Speaker 1: Dophins eleven and six last year, Jets seven and ten,
- 14:14Speaker 1: Patriots four and thirteen. What's interesting about this is do
- 14:18Speaker 1: the Patriots do they get to field a full eleven players?
- 14:22Speaker 3: Right?
- 14:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, well they who knows, you know, do
- 14:25Speaker 1: they get do they all get pads? You know, it's
- 14:27Speaker 1: gonna be an interesting dynamic to see how bad they suck.
- 14:29Speaker 6: I mean, the rough season they are like one of
- 14:32Speaker 6: the contenders to be in last next year.
- 14:34Speaker 2: Right, they could finish last.
- 14:35Speaker 1: They could have the number one pick again, yeah, or
- 14:37Speaker 1: not again, but they could have the number one pick overall.
- 14:39Speaker 1: They had a top with four pick, yeah, Slasher.
- 14:42Speaker 7: Yeah, And I'm alright with the top pick next year
- 14:44Speaker 7: because we need offensive line so bad and I don't
- 14:47Speaker 7: want to put me behind that offensive line and it'd
- 14:48Speaker 7: get ugly.
- 14:49Speaker 1: It's gonna be a tough year for you.
- 14:50Speaker 3: Yeah, it is.
- 14:50Speaker 1: It's okay. You want a bunch of games and Exast championship.
- 14:53Speaker 7: And the Celtics just won, so we're good.
- 14:56Speaker 2: That makes you feel better.
- 14:57Speaker 1: Yep. Bills, Dolphins, Jets, those are your thre who wins
- 15:02Speaker 1: the division?
- 15:03Speaker 6: Eddie Man, we're playing that whole Everyone's healthy here, and
- 15:06Speaker 6: I'm assuming that if everything's right for the Jets, this
- 15:10Speaker 6: could be the year that the Jets win that division.
- 15:12Speaker 6: I know it's the battle between the Bills and the Jets.
- 15:15Speaker 6: I for some reason just think that this is the year.
- 15:18Speaker 2: The Bills are going to struggle. Don't know why.
- 15:20Speaker 6: I feel like Josh Allen was kind of on the
- 15:21Speaker 6: struggle bus a little bit last year.
- 15:23Speaker 2: He came out of it. He finished strong.
- 15:25Speaker 6: But I think this is the year where the Bills
- 15:26Speaker 6: struggle a little bit and the Jets take the division.
- 15:29Speaker 1: I mean, I think if there's a reason that he
- 15:31Speaker 1: struggles based on what we know now, he doesn't have
- 15:33Speaker 1: anybody to get the ball to. Ye, he's no wide
- 15:35Speaker 1: receivers that have been proven at all. We've seen Mahomes,
- 15:39Speaker 1: Peyton Manning. We saw those guys win without wide receiver ones.
- 15:44Speaker 1: Basically a bunch of wide receiver threes. But that would
- 15:48Speaker 1: be why I think if they're not able to score
- 15:51Speaker 1: a bunch of points, it's because they don't have the
- 15:53Speaker 1: wide receivers. James Cook running back, Yeah, he had a
- 15:56Speaker 1: really good second half of the last ye Yeah, dev
- 15:59Speaker 1: two tightens that are pretty good. So boy, I think
- 16:04Speaker 1: everybody's gonna pick the Bills.
- 16:06Speaker 2: That's kind of why I went Jets.
- 16:07Speaker 7: Well I'm going Dolphins.
- 16:10Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, there's a lot, there's a lot there.
- 16:12Speaker 3: But you do know that.
- 16:15Speaker 1: It's winter when the layoffs happened. Yeah, you got to
- 16:18Speaker 1: get to a coat or something, But does that really matter?
- 16:22Speaker 3: What do you mean?
- 16:22Speaker 7: But you're saying to pick the division, not the super
- 16:24Speaker 7: Bowl not Yeah.
- 16:26Speaker 1: Yeah, at the end though, you know they do matter.
- 16:29Speaker 2: I had a solid month of cold weather at the
- 16:33Speaker 2: end there.
- 16:33Speaker 1: It wasn't great for him.
- 16:34Speaker 2: But but like, say, you.
- 16:36Speaker 6: You grew up in like Minnesota, but now you live
- 16:38Speaker 6: in Miami, Like you can still play in the cold
- 16:41Speaker 6: even though you've only lived in Miami.
- 16:43Speaker 2: A year or two two.
- 16:44Speaker 1: I grew up in Minnesota.
- 16:45Speaker 2: No, no, no, why?
- 16:46Speaker 1: But yeah, that's like the worst example of Tyreek.
- 16:49Speaker 2: Come on, turry, where's Tyree from?
- 16:50Speaker 1: I think it gets Where we live now is pretty temperate.
- 16:53Speaker 1: It gets kind of cold, but god dang, we go
- 16:54Speaker 1: somewhere super cool. It hurts. It hurts more than people
- 16:56Speaker 1: who live there. I'm taking the Jets too, because the
- 17:00Speaker 1: offensive line is heavily improved. If Aaron Rodgers can be
- 17:04Speaker 1: a seven out of ten, If Brece Hall, who had
- 17:08Speaker 1: to catch a bunch of balls last year because they
- 17:10Speaker 1: were always behind, they didn't have a quarterback, Brestall's awesome.
- 17:13Speaker 1: He doesn't have Let's he two years in, but he
- 17:17Speaker 1: was injured for a whole his rookie year. He got
- 17:19Speaker 1: hurt like a third of the way through. Brestall's awesome,
- 17:22Speaker 1: and it learned a vacuum. Everybody's healthy. I'm still taking
- 17:26Speaker 1: the Bills.
- 17:27Speaker 2: I thought you were going to still.
- 17:28Speaker 1: Taking the Bills. But I do think the Jets are
- 17:29Speaker 1: gonna be fun and they're gonna.
- 17:30Speaker 2: Win and Miami only because of temperature.
- 17:33Speaker 1: And Miami's gonna win a bunch of games, but towards
- 17:35Speaker 1: the end they're gonna stru They gotta get him a coat.
- 17:37Speaker 1: How they trying north Face. There's a couple of brands
- 17:40Speaker 1: he should really focus on. Team sponsor. Yeah, Kevin you.
- 17:44Speaker 7: Yeah, I'm gonna go to Dolphins. I want to go
- 17:46Speaker 7: out on a limb here a little bit. The top
- 17:48Speaker 7: three is gonna be tough, and then my Patriots gonna
- 17:50Speaker 7: be bad. But I'm gonna say the Dolphins, it's the
- 17:53Speaker 7: year they take that next step. Two, it takes that
- 17:55Speaker 7: next step. He got paid and he's ready.
- 18:00Speaker 4: What's a success for you as a Patriots fan? With
- 18:03Speaker 4: the Patriots, It's taken me some time to adjust. I'm
- 18:07Speaker 4: not gonna lie because I think the over under is
- 18:08Speaker 4: five games, and I'm like, easily over. And then I
- 18:11Speaker 4: look at the schedule last year and I'm like, oh
- 18:13Speaker 4: my gosh, I really won.
- 18:14Speaker 1: Four games last year.
- 18:15Speaker 2: You'll w four games?
- 18:17Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 18:17Speaker 1: You cut Bailey Zappy.
- 18:19Speaker 7: Yeah, they probably will.
- 18:21Speaker 1: I mean, like, you have two quarterbacks, they both need
- 18:25Speaker 1: snaps because you're not really trying to win. I guess
- 18:29Speaker 1: unless they're both just so overwhelmed.
- 18:32Speaker 7: Yeah, I'm gonna go with that over under. If we
- 18:34Speaker 7: win five games, one more than last year, it's a success.
- 18:36Speaker 1: Oh boy, so five wins because you have you don't
- 18:42Speaker 1: have a quarterback yet, he's so raw loicking.
- 18:44Speaker 7: Yeah, and you don't have an offensive line and I
- 18:46Speaker 7: don't care if he doesn't play at least half the year.
- 18:49Speaker 1: And Juju don't even jew there anymore.
- 18:51Speaker 7: Yeah, Juju, you're gone.
- 18:53Speaker 1: Yeah. Who's who's gonna get the ball?
- 18:56Speaker 7: They got some weapons, Hop, Douglas caj Osboyne, Jalen Polk,
- 19:01Speaker 7: Romandre Stevenson. He's a stud but sucks.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Yeah he's good. Yeah, his all line sucks. Yeah, that's tough.
- 19:06Speaker 3: That's tough.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Okay, that's the that's the entire AFC. We're gonna take
- 19:09Speaker 1: a break, we're gonna come back and get into the
- 19:11Speaker 1: NFC right after this. If you're new to the show,
- 19:16Speaker 1: just a little parlay talk here. You'll hear us go
- 19:18Speaker 1: what here's the parlay. So we'll do a little basic
- 19:21Speaker 1: because until somebody explained it to me. I did not
- 19:23Speaker 1: know what a parlay was. So when we bet a parlay,
- 19:26Speaker 1: let's say we're gonna make three bets and we say
- 19:28Speaker 1: we're gonna take Arkansas to win, We're gonna take LSU
- 19:31Speaker 1: to win, and we're gonna take Montana to win. It
- 19:33Speaker 1: could be any games. You can have two game parlay,
- 19:35Speaker 1: three game parlay, but a parlay is multiple games. If
- 19:40Speaker 1: all three win, it's like you win even bigger, it's
- 19:43Speaker 1: like bonus winnings. But if any one of the three loses,
- 19:46Speaker 1: you lose the whole bet accurate description perfect. So we're
- 19:50Speaker 1: like multiple bets and you're like, well, why why not
- 19:53Speaker 1: just bet them all three individually. You can do that,
- 19:55Speaker 1: or you can ride with us and have an even bonus.
- 19:58Speaker 1: It's even better if you hit a parlay, like more
- 20:00Speaker 1: to it. So we do a parlay every week, and
- 20:03Speaker 1: if you want to take the twenty five Whistles parlay,
- 20:05Speaker 1: you can check out Draftings Sportsbook. They put it up
- 20:07Speaker 1: there as well. New users use the code Bobby Sports
- 20:10Speaker 1: when you download the app. But that's what a parlay.
- 20:12Speaker 1: So when we're like we're doing the parlay, it's multiple games.
- 20:14Speaker 1: If any of the bets lose. Inside the game, the
- 20:16Speaker 1: whole bet is lost. But if they all win, you
- 20:19Speaker 1: get like a bonus on top of what it would
- 20:21Speaker 1: have been if you'd bet on them all individually. Again accurate, Yeah,
- 20:24Speaker 1: perfect good. New users use the code Bobby Sports when
- 20:28Speaker 1: you download the app. Gambling problem called one hundred gambler

- 20:57Speaker 1: ball Light We're back, NFC South Bucks, Saints, Falcons, Panthers,
- 21:07Speaker 1: UH probably the weakest division.
- 21:10Speaker 2: Stuff to pick a winner.
- 21:13Speaker 1: I don't I don't feel I feel like I am
- 21:15Speaker 1: comfortable betting a large amount of sum some of money
- 21:19Speaker 1: on who wins this division with your boy.
- 21:22Speaker 2: You think your boy can do good in Tampa.
- 21:24Speaker 1: Why why don't you pick who you think is going
- 21:26Speaker 1: with the division.
- 21:26Speaker 2: I'm gonna go with Kirk Cousins.
- 21:29Speaker 1: I would go with two.
- 21:30Speaker 2: But there is Tampa though, and there is Baker Mayfield, and.
- 21:33Speaker 1: I would say Kirk Cousins one, and I agree, but
- 21:37Speaker 1: I'm not going to pick it and then fight for
- 21:38Speaker 1: the other one. It's a weird argument.
- 21:40Speaker 2: It is weird, but I am going with the Falcons.
- 21:43Speaker 1: I would say Atlanta has more weapons as well as
- 21:46Speaker 1: a more proven quarterback. At the same time, Kyle Pitts
- 21:49Speaker 1: might actually be a tight end that can catch some balls.
- 21:52Speaker 7: Is this the make or break here?
- 21:54Speaker 1: It has to be to be. I've drafted them over
- 21:56Speaker 1: your fantasy Drake London like, who's legit? But you can't
- 22:00Speaker 1: be legit if you don't get the ball. And Kirk
- 22:03Speaker 1: Cousins is if if that Achilles is good, and it
- 22:07Speaker 1: seems to be, they're going to be a solid, maybe
- 22:11Speaker 1: ten win team. I don't. I think ten and seven's
- 22:14Speaker 1: probably pretty good number for them to chase. But I'll
- 22:18Speaker 1: go Falcons as well. Falcons then Bucks. I think the
- 22:23Speaker 1: pant Give me that Panthers over under because I do
- 22:25Speaker 1: think they win more games this year for sure than
- 22:29Speaker 1: last year. They won two games last year. A little
- 22:30Speaker 1: stronger line, and I think hopefully Bryce has grown a
- 22:35Speaker 1: little bit. You know, he's fifteen now.
- 22:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think he's getting taller.
- 22:38Speaker 1: Oh you under down, Oh dang. I think the Panthers
- 22:42Speaker 1: are a little better. I think the Panthers are back in.
- 22:44Speaker 1: They're in that chase though, a like number one pick
- 22:47Speaker 1: again four and a half, same as Patriots. Yeah, I'd
- 22:51Speaker 1: probably go over though, because they play up weaker teams
- 22:53Speaker 1: in the Patriots generally probably go the over on that one,
- 22:56Speaker 1: but I would go Falcons, Bucks, Saints Pants. Who are
- 23:00Speaker 1: you picking to win it? Kevin?
- 23:04Speaker 7: Yeah, it's Falcon's here with Kirk, They're back to get
- 23:09Speaker 7: on top. Butt Pendix did look good. He's slinging he
- 23:12Speaker 7: did NFC North. This is going to be a super
- 23:17Speaker 7: fun division to watch. Yeah, just because of all the
- 23:20Speaker 7: stories and all the places the Lions could win the
- 23:23Speaker 7: Super Bowl. I don't think they need to actually win
- 23:26Speaker 7: the super Bowl for it to be a successful season.
- 23:28Speaker 7: I think getting to the super Bowl is that bar
- 23:31Speaker 7: for them. They get to the super Bowl, that's big.
- 23:34Speaker 7: I want to see that city.
- 23:37Speaker 1: I think about Detroit though, and God bless them. If
- 23:39Speaker 1: they have a great run, they may burn it down
- 23:42Speaker 1: in happiness. It's one of those we won, burn it
- 23:47Speaker 1: down or we lost. Burn it down. They need to
- 23:51Speaker 1: go to the super Bowl, probably even for themselves, for
- 23:56Speaker 1: us to feel like that that was a great season.
- 23:58Speaker 1: We're not talk about super bowlre but feel like it's
- 24:00Speaker 1: super Bowl or Bus, not super Bowl winner bus for them.
- 24:03Speaker 1: The Packers. Jordan Love just got paid. They love Jordan Love.
- 24:06Speaker 1: I don't know who the number one receiver is there?
- 24:10Speaker 1: Uh yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean they actually have receivers,
- 24:20Speaker 1: but like who who is the Vikings? I think Sam
- 24:23Speaker 1: Donald could be pretty good. He's got a good coach,
- 24:27Speaker 1: quarterbacks thrive and then the Bears.
- 24:30Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 24:31Speaker 1: It's gonna be fun to watch though.
- 24:32Speaker 2: It's got a big butt, love his butt.
- 24:36Speaker 7: Do you think the Bears finished ahead of the Vikings?
- 24:38Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 24:38Speaker 1: Probably. I think the Bears have too many weapons and
- 24:41Speaker 1: the Bears defense is pretty good too.
- 24:44Speaker 7: That's a tough one too. That division.
- 24:46Speaker 1: They all could be yeah, five hundred or better. I
- 24:49Speaker 1: have decent expectations for the Bears because they have so
- 24:53Speaker 1: many weapons all Kayleb Williams has to do is be
- 24:55Speaker 1: pretty good. Yeah, so I'm gonna but I'm still gonna
- 24:57Speaker 1: go Lions then Packers. But I think the Bears could
- 25:01Speaker 1: possibly win nine or ten games. That's a lot. That's
- 25:04Speaker 1: a lot for a rookie quarterback. Though. Oh yeah, Eddie.
- 25:07Speaker 6: I'm gonna go with Lions win the division. I mean,
- 25:09Speaker 6: they're going to be good again this year, I think.
- 25:12Speaker 6: And then and Jordan Love I think is just he
- 25:14Speaker 6: ended strong last year. I mean, I think the Packers
- 25:17Speaker 6: are going to be good. Unfortunately, I remember that I suck.
- 25:21Speaker 1: I remember that.
- 25:22Speaker 2: And then Yeah, I think Bears Vikings.
- 25:25Speaker 7: Kevin Yeah, same, same exact order, all Lions all time.
- 25:30Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, forty nine Ers, Rams, Seahawks, Cardinals, NFC
- 25:33Speaker 1: West Cardinal will be different because Kyler will be back
- 25:35Speaker 1: for a full year.
- 25:35Speaker 2: Yeah, well that matter.
- 25:38Speaker 1: Yeah, I think So. I mean, has there been a
- 25:40Speaker 1: new Call of Duty patch put out?
- 25:43Speaker 2: It's funny, are we good?
- 25:45Speaker 1: New one is coming out?
- 25:46Speaker 2: It is thanks for Reid.
- 25:49Speaker 1: It's not the Seahawks because I don't think Geno's that guy.
- 25:52Speaker 1: I think Geno is a guy, pretty good guy. I
- 25:53Speaker 1: don't think he's that guy though, I think the Rams
- 25:57Speaker 1: are going to be stat Wins Daffor is healthy. Man,
- 26:02Speaker 1: They're really good. And if both if Cooper, Cup and Pookah,
- 26:08Speaker 1: we're all healthy, right, we're all healthy. We're in the bubble,
- 26:11Speaker 1: We're in the vacuum. Vacuum.
- 26:12Speaker 2: That's what.
- 26:16Speaker 3: I still think.
- 26:17Speaker 1: It's the forty nine ers, but the r I think
- 26:20Speaker 1: the Rams are gonna be really good. So I'm gonna
- 26:22Speaker 1: go Niners then Rams, Eddie.
- 26:24Speaker 2: Yeah, Niners for sure.
- 26:26Speaker 6: Unfortunately again, Rams, I man, you got Stets and Bennett
- 26:30Speaker 6: back there, just in case Garoppolo and Stafford gets hurt.
- 26:33Speaker 6: Then then I hey, I love Stet's and Bennett. I
- 26:38Speaker 6: only want good things for steps.
- 26:39Speaker 7: You know, Jimmy g goes in there. He's not lasting all.
- 26:41Speaker 6: Seasons, correct, Okay, And then I'm gonna I mean, I
- 26:45Speaker 6: guess Cardinals, Cardinals, and then that's always solid, Yeah, solid.
- 26:49Speaker 2: I do like Pete Carroll, what.
- 26:50Speaker 7: Do you got, Well, he's not there anymore, he's done.
- 26:53Speaker 6: No, I just mean like Seahawks like he's like I do, like, okay.
- 27:00Speaker 7: Yeah, okaya, mode I got the same as Eddie. Actually,
- 27:04Speaker 7: I'm gonna put the Cardinals ahead of the Seahawks and
- 27:06Speaker 7: then forty nine Ers to win it and the Rams
- 27:08Speaker 7: coming in second.
- 27:10Speaker 1: NFCS Cowboys, Eagles, Giants, Commanders, easy is it?
- 27:14Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 27:14Speaker 1: Simple? Well for you, because Sam, you're talking with your
- 27:18Speaker 1: heart not your head. No, no, go ahead, this is
- 27:20Speaker 1: this all knowledge. Cowboys want so much contract talk? Yeah, dude,
- 27:25Speaker 1: what's happening? How do they have it? But again, some
- 27:27Speaker 1: of the stuff will be settle by the time this.
- 27:28Speaker 6: Air is sure, hopefully. I mean CEDI took all his
- 27:32Speaker 6: stuff down social media. He's not a cowboy to social media.
- 27:36Speaker 6: Why do they do that? Though, Let's just stop all this.
- 27:39Speaker 6: The DAK contract talk is going to be all season long. Yes,
- 27:43Speaker 6: but man, i mean watching Trey Lance in the preseason. No,
- 27:47Speaker 6: I'm not saying that Trey Lance is the dude, but
- 27:50Speaker 6: when he runs with the ball, I'm like, gosh, this
- 27:53Speaker 6: is what the Cowboys need, someone that has legs.
- 27:56Speaker 1: This is the problem with the Cowboys fans because they'll
- 27:59Speaker 1: end up with Trey Lance. Yeah, no, that's that's they.
- 28:04Speaker 2: Gotta respect him.
- 28:05Speaker 1: So Cowboys or Eagles basically is what what it is.
- 28:08Speaker 1: And obviously you're going Cowboys Cowboys, Kevin.
- 28:11Speaker 7: Yeah, I got Eagles, then Cowboys, then Commanders.
- 28:14Speaker 1: And Giants.
- 28:15Speaker 2: Giants are gonna be bad.
- 28:16Speaker 1: Oh Giants. Daniel Tels look pretty good with that beard.
- 28:18Speaker 2: So you think the beard is gonna win the conference.
- 28:20Speaker 1: He looks like a different dude, like neighbors. That means
- 28:25Speaker 1: the beard, the neighbors Beard, Neighbors. It's weird that the
- 28:28Speaker 1: Commanders might actually be pretty good, because the Commanders are
- 28:30Speaker 1: just they just suck. I have to take the Cowboys
- 28:32Speaker 1: because I bet let's go hundred bucks on the super
- 28:35Speaker 1: Bowl for twenty thousand.
- 28:37Speaker 6: Dude, you think you think you think that old line
- 28:41Speaker 6: is gonna be good without Kelsey, They're missing a big
- 28:44Speaker 6: part of that old line. And then you're gonna have
- 28:46Speaker 6: Hurts running for his life every single play. They're gonna
- 28:48Speaker 6: be terrible.
- 28:49Speaker 1: No offensive coordinator.
- 28:50Speaker 2: Yeah, they don't have to learn a whole new scheme,
- 28:52Speaker 2: like not really okay.
- 28:54Speaker 7: Yeah, defensive coordinator for egoys.
- 28:56Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, they gotta learn a whole new scheme.
- 28:58Speaker 2: He's the head coach of the Vikings. He's a good dude.
- 29:03Speaker 1: Dude, you're on DC those at the Commanders now.
- 29:05Speaker 2: I know, I know he's gonna be trouble when we
- 29:07Speaker 2: go to Washington.
- 29:08Speaker 1: What do you mean he's gonna be trouble.
- 29:09Speaker 2: Because he's gonna know us. He's gonna know what the
- 29:11Speaker 2: d He's gonna know what MacCarthy's doing.
- 29:13Speaker 7: I think everybody does.
- 29:15Speaker 1: Now you're talking crap, all right, This is our talk
- 29:18Speaker 1: with Jaguars all time leading rusher Fred Taylor. Fred played
- 29:22Speaker 1: thirteen seasons after he was selected number nine overall back
- 29:25Speaker 1: in the nineteen ninety NFL draft. A lot of people
- 29:27Speaker 1: think you should be in the Hall of Fame. I
- 29:29Speaker 1: hope he gets there one day, especially because I'm at him.
- 29:32Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, that'd be cool.
- 29:32Speaker 1: I'd be like, I'm at a Hall of Famer. That's
- 29:34Speaker 1: really the reason. You can listen to Fred on his
- 29:36Speaker 1: podcast that he does with Bryan Clark and Channing Crowder
- 29:39Speaker 1: called the Pivot Podcast. Seriously, it was awesome. Here he
- 29:42Speaker 1: is Fred Taylor. Whenever you're walking, let's say you're going
- 29:46Speaker 1: back to a game, what do you what are the
- 29:48Speaker 1: fans yell at.
- 29:49Speaker 3: You for the most? What do they yeah?
- 29:53Speaker 1: Or what are they Because we're watching people walk by
- 29:56Speaker 1: different athletes and they'll be like intercept shit too, Like
- 30:01Speaker 1: what is it that people will scream at you or
- 30:03Speaker 1: remember for what they're like kind of get an autograph
- 30:06Speaker 1: and they want to share a memory with you.
- 30:08Speaker 5: Oh, that's a tough one. Because I spent a lot
- 30:11Speaker 5: of time in Jacksonville. I'm part of the game day
- 30:14Speaker 5: production right there in the stadium. I get all sorts
- 30:18Speaker 5: of stuff. I mean, the ninety yarder from Freddy you
- 30:23Speaker 5: retired Dann Marino, you know when we beat him sixty
- 30:26Speaker 5: two to seven. I love that game, or even the
- 30:28Speaker 5: Pittsburgh game from the two thirty four. They're still a
- 30:33Speaker 5: killer and the Dolphin killer.
- 30:34Speaker 9: And that's cool to have a killer, any killer.
- 30:38Speaker 3: What's it like to break one?
- 30:40Speaker 1: That's like over seventy eighty ninety when you see a
- 30:42Speaker 1: lot of green ahead, Like do you in your mind
- 30:44Speaker 1: can you outrun everybody on the field the whole time?
- 30:47Speaker 3: Oh?
- 30:47Speaker 5: Yeah, for sure, Because I would always like something, you know,
- 30:51Speaker 5: that was always the easy part for me, Like I'm like,
- 30:53Speaker 5: you're in trouble if I get an open I've never
- 30:56Speaker 5: been run down, so I wasn't ever worrying about them
- 30:58Speaker 5: catching me. And go back to that ninety yard touchdown
- 31:02Speaker 5: against the Dolphins and the playoff, which is still a
- 31:04Speaker 5: playoff record since ninety nine. I was laughing on my
- 31:09Speaker 5: way to the end zone because I know I had
- 31:11Speaker 5: Brock Marriyon behind me, the same guy my rookie year.
- 31:15Speaker 5: The year before that, I skirted out phone on an
- 31:18Speaker 5: eighty yard touchdown on the first playoff Monday night. They
- 31:22Speaker 5: never knew how fast I was because I was big.
- 31:25Speaker 5: They thought, oh, he's a big guy, he's not that fast.
- 31:27Speaker 5: Then we get out there, it was lights out, like
- 31:30Speaker 5: you weren't gonna catch me. So anytime I got a
- 31:33Speaker 5: little crease, I would tell my lineman, just give me
- 31:34Speaker 5: a little crease. I would say, look, I'm lubed up,
- 31:37Speaker 5: ready to go. I just need a crack. Sorry about that,
- 31:42Speaker 5: And you know they bust their butts to give me
- 31:45Speaker 5: a crack. And once I get through there, man, one
- 31:48Speaker 5: mistackle and I'm out exhilarating, like it's the best feeling ever.
- 31:53Speaker 1: I was just thinking about how you would run the
- 31:55Speaker 1: boxes again. You are a physically you have a very
- 31:58Speaker 1: physical present because Jack a big dude. I just wouldn't
- 32:01Speaker 1: think that you'd be able to fly like you. People
- 32:03Speaker 1: realize you're able to fly on the field at times.
- 32:06Speaker 1: Would some of those guys be like, right, we can't.
- 32:08Speaker 1: We had no idea you were this fast.
- 32:10Speaker 5: So I did on purpose. What I would do is
- 32:14Speaker 5: I would go and stand by the biggest lineman so
- 32:16Speaker 5: it would make you a smaller look smaller. And then
- 32:18Speaker 5: on game day I would run through the defensive backs
- 32:22Speaker 5: warm up drill, so when they would see me in person,
- 32:25Speaker 5: they would go, whoa this kid, that he's really big,
- 32:29Speaker 5: Like I didn't think you were that big. I was six'
- 32:32Speaker 5: one to twenty eight when I played. When I was
- 32:35Speaker 5: younger four to two, like four to eight. So yeah,
- 32:39Speaker 5: that that fast catching catching him off guard a little bit.
- 32:42Speaker 5: But my game was I felt like I could do
- 32:44Speaker 5: it all.
- 32:44Speaker 3: What were you like in high school?
- 32:46Speaker 5: I was a one hundred meter guy. I ran one
- 32:48Speaker 5: hundred meter like to twelve.
- 32:51Speaker 3: What size were you in the like twelfth grade?
- 32:54Speaker 5: Six feet six one to twelve?
- 32:57Speaker 3: Was it so like man amongst boys that.
- 33:00Speaker 5: I was cheating? Yep. I have some games I have
- 33:02Speaker 5: three carries for you know, buck fifty, buck eighty, and
- 33:06Speaker 5: my coach would take me out. Yeah, try to rest
- 33:09Speaker 5: me for the next game. Rare that I would play
- 33:11Speaker 5: past halftime.
- 33:12Speaker 1: What about when you went to college and that's a
- 33:14Speaker 1: level jump obviously, was it were you still a bit
- 33:18Speaker 1: fast for the game.
- 33:20Speaker 5: Everybody's fast then, but I still had elite speed at
- 33:24Speaker 5: my size and the position I played out, I just
- 33:27Speaker 5: didn't know how dominant I could be, you know. So
- 33:31Speaker 5: I would always practice hard, and I would look at
- 33:32Speaker 5: my teammates and go, why do they look like they're
- 33:35Speaker 5: practicing in slow motion? So eventually the difference became you
- 33:40Speaker 5: were ready for the next level and they weren't. And
- 33:43Speaker 5: there's no knock on them, but they didn't make it
- 33:46Speaker 5: to the next level. And you know, I had some
- 33:49Speaker 5: issues earlier on in my college career that sort of
- 33:52Speaker 5: you know, minimized my playtime. But eventually I became the
- 33:57Speaker 5: demand and coach Sperry trusted in my abilities and he
- 34:00Speaker 5: started feeding me to ball more in a passing offense
- 34:03Speaker 5: back in those days. And if I had a stretch
- 34:05Speaker 5: of a few good games, I was able to parlay
- 34:08Speaker 5: that into you know, great workouts for my pro draft
- 34:11Speaker 5: day and eventually being drafted ninth overall.
- 34:13Speaker 1: So the Pivots the podcast, right, yep, yeah, yeah, and
- 34:17Speaker 1: it's really cool becaure's a lot of NFL perspective. It's
- 34:20Speaker 1: not just you, right, So if people listen to the Pivot,
- 34:24Speaker 1: what like, what are they hearing.
- 34:25Speaker 3: What are you guys talking about?
- 34:26Speaker 1: What what motivates you guys as ex players to still
- 34:30Speaker 1: talk about something like do you feel like your perspective
- 34:34Speaker 1: is still fresh and needed or is it more like
- 34:36Speaker 1: more like old school like this is how it should
- 34:38Speaker 1: be back in the day.
- 34:38Speaker 5: No, No, it's really just a locker room vibe. Then
- 34:41Speaker 5: we kind of you know, integrate like culture and real lifestyle,
- 34:45Speaker 5: Like we try to be as transparent and authentic as possible.
- 34:49Speaker 5: We believe we have a lot of a lot of
- 34:51Speaker 5: messages and gyms to share, especially with you know, younger
- 34:55Speaker 5: athletes or anybody that's a fan of sport. So sport
- 35:00Speaker 5: sort of is what leads people to our doorstep and
- 35:04Speaker 5: then the conversation, the things that we talk about in
- 35:07Speaker 5: real time. I think those messages are important. The way
- 35:12Speaker 5: we highlight and put emphasis on our guests, allowing our
- 35:16Speaker 5: viewers and our fan base to really hear from our guests.
- 35:19Speaker 5: We learn not to overtalk our guests and let them
- 35:21Speaker 5: share their messages and their life experiences. And what people
- 35:26Speaker 5: take away from it is a person that's not an
- 35:29Speaker 5: athlete or not a celebrity, they go, hey, listen, I
- 35:31Speaker 5: go through this stuff but if I see this fan,
- 35:34Speaker 5: I mean, are this guests or this celebrity going through it,
- 35:38Speaker 5: and they're able to talk about it, they're able to
- 35:40Speaker 5: be vulnerable and show us that and we can hear
- 35:42Speaker 5: it all, then I'll be okay. So we just try
- 35:45Speaker 5: to elevate those conversations and paint certain pictures. Ryan Clark,
- 35:50Speaker 5: who you guys recently had on, is amazing as the driver.
- 35:54Speaker 5: You know, myself, I look to fill the void. You know,
- 35:57Speaker 5: if there's something I believe that lacking or needs to
- 35:59Speaker 5: be touched on, then I'll make sure to bring it up.
- 36:03Speaker 5: And our third host, Channing Crowder. Channing is the viral
- 36:07Speaker 5: moment guy. He's the comedian, the nutcase, the crazy guy
- 36:10Speaker 5: on the show. He's going to say something's going to
- 36:12Speaker 5: travel around the globe, you know, at light speed. But
- 36:15Speaker 5: it's my job to kind of bring Channing back down
- 36:18Speaker 5: to the center, and that creates the balance for us. So,
- 36:23Speaker 5: you know, much like our mantra, except to just move forward,
- 36:27Speaker 5: everybody is going to have their pivotal moment in their life,
- 36:30Speaker 5: so we just try to highlight that moment.
- 36:33Speaker 6: You play football for so much of your life and
- 36:35Speaker 6: then it's over playing football is over.
- 36:38Speaker 5: It's time to pivot. Yeah, it's time to pivot.
- 36:40Speaker 6: I mean, what's that thought process of when it's over,
- 36:44Speaker 6: You're like, oh crap, what am I going to do?
- 36:45Speaker 5: You know what? So you have to put in the
- 36:48Speaker 5: preparation and the planning before that moment come. Some guys
- 36:53Speaker 5: never know when that moment's going to come, so you know,
- 36:55Speaker 5: they're just hit with it abruptly. Myself, fortunately I was
- 36:59Speaker 5: able to thirteen years. So towards the end of my
- 37:02Speaker 5: career as it started winding, now it became you know,
- 37:08Speaker 5: an exciting It became a competitive moment for me in
- 37:12Speaker 5: my mind, like what's to come? The unknown? Like that
- 37:15Speaker 5: excites me. You know, change excites me. So I wanted
- 37:20Speaker 5: to make sure I wasn't going to be a statistic
- 37:23Speaker 5: like most of the guys that retired within three years
- 37:27Speaker 5: of retiring, most guys are eighty seven percent of the
- 37:30Speaker 5: guys are either filed for bankruptcy or divorced. I would say, no,
- 37:35Speaker 5: it's my challenge not to be one of those guys.
- 37:38Speaker 5: So it excited me to be able to pivot and
- 37:41Speaker 5: do things to avoid being that. So every guy has
- 37:45Speaker 5: a different perspective. But now we're able to with our platform,
- 37:50Speaker 5: be able to share that message with these guys, you know,
- 37:53Speaker 5: the young guys come on and show. Look, you got
- 37:55Speaker 5: to prepare yourself. This is what it's going to be like.
- 37:58Speaker 5: That transition is it's tough, you know, not just financially,
- 38:02Speaker 5: but from a mental standpoint, because you go your entire
- 38:05Speaker 5: life people telling you how good you are, you got
- 38:07Speaker 5: the fans. When you don't have that stage any longer,
- 38:11Speaker 5: what are you going to do? So these are the
- 38:13Speaker 5: different thoughts that we try to share with them. So
- 38:16Speaker 5: now they can start putting the pieces together.
- 38:19Speaker 3: I've pulled this from the collection.
- 38:21Speaker 5: Oh that looks like a rookie car?
- 38:23Speaker 3: Yeah? Would you? Would you? We're gonna record you signing.
- 38:26Speaker 5: You know, I don't. I don't sign rookies. I gotta
- 38:29Speaker 5: charge you for this.
- 38:30Speaker 1: Never mind, hold on, and oh there's the charge.
- 38:33Speaker 3: No, I'm just kidding.
- 38:33Speaker 5: No, no, it is any anytime I got a black
- 38:37Speaker 5: chin strap, that's a rookie car or is that true? Yeah,
- 38:40Speaker 5: because the league banned the black chin straps after that year,
- 38:44Speaker 5: So since ninety eight? What reason the league reasons?
- 38:48Speaker 3: And who knows? They didn't give you that reason?
- 38:50Speaker 5: No, you know, but they're a bit more lenient now
- 38:53Speaker 5: on a lot of things, and I love it, you know,
- 38:56Speaker 5: like the clique thing. You know, when they're able to
- 38:59Speaker 5: go and get these the cleek calls for your cleeks
- 39:03Speaker 5: for calls and then you can see the cancer cleaves
- 39:07Speaker 5: and the you know, sickle cell like different reasons why
- 39:12Speaker 5: guys where they're clicking there able to paint them and
- 39:15Speaker 5: get the fans in well. I love that. Back in
- 39:17Speaker 5: my day, black white, whatever the team issue colors were,
- 39:21Speaker 5: that's what you were stuck with, and it was playing
- 39:24Speaker 5: and boring. The game now is so exciting. It's so fast,
- 39:27Speaker 5: they're scoring a lot of points. The fans that have
- 39:30Speaker 5: in a great time, the venues, the stadiums are amazing,
- 39:33Speaker 5: So I love it.
- 39:34Speaker 1: We appreciate yourselffing by I think chanting is switching out.
- 39:37Speaker 1: He's gonna hop up. Is he helping them now? But
- 39:39Speaker 1: you have to take this twenty now, no, no.
- 39:42Speaker 5: He paid that. You have to read if my signature
- 39:46Speaker 5: is only worth twenty dollars without a problem.
- 39:49Speaker 3: We were just using it for our context.
- 39:51Speaker 5: But yeah, I know the Starbucks, I'll give this, I'll
- 39:54Speaker 5: take it under the table. I know. I appreciate what good.

- 41:18Speaker 1: Slash ft ball. All right, let's get over. We went
- 41:25Speaker 1: to La Chargers training camp in early August, and we
- 41:28Speaker 1: were facilities and we got to talk to a few players,
- 41:29Speaker 1: and we talked to Brendan Rice, the sun of Jerry Rice.
- 41:32Speaker 1: But I made sure not to ask him any questions
- 41:33Speaker 1: about Jerry purposefully smart, like all kids don't like that.
- 41:37Speaker 1: I wanted to be well. I just everybody asked about
- 41:40Speaker 1: Jerry Rice, and I just wanted to go. And I
- 41:42Speaker 1: led with, Hey, do you mean to ask you any
- 41:43Speaker 1: question about Jerry Rice? I didn't. I never bought it.
- 41:47Speaker 1: He was drafted in the season after spending the last
- 41:49Speaker 1: few seasons at USC. He is a beast physically a beast.
- 41:52Speaker 1: So here's a few minutes with Brendan Rice. Some of
- 41:54Speaker 1: these guys that come from Minnesota, Nebraska, wherever they get drafted,
- 42:00Speaker 1: Like it's gotta be great to tell them how lovely
- 42:03Speaker 1: California is all the time.
- 42:05Speaker 8: Right, Yeah, it's lovely to be here in California. I
- 42:07Speaker 8: mean I came from USC right now, and I guess
- 42:11Speaker 8: to be thankful. Man, Like I'm here each day in
- 42:13Speaker 8: and day and I'm looking up in the sky and
- 42:14Speaker 8: it's seventy degrees all the time, and I'm just like, Wow.
- 42:17Speaker 9: I'm blessed. Some of these guys.
- 42:19Speaker 1: I would walk to the locker room and you know,
- 42:21Speaker 1: they got two star, three star and not rated, you know,
- 42:23Speaker 1: up on the lockers for a reason. Why do you
- 42:26Speaker 1: think that culture has started here with you guys?
- 42:30Speaker 8: Honestly, them stars never met anything even coming out of
- 42:34Speaker 8: high school. The culture is, we want the nitty gritty guys,
- 42:38Speaker 8: the one that's gonna get down and put their fingers
- 42:42Speaker 8: down in the mud and go ahead and crawl through
- 42:44Speaker 8: the trenches with us.
- 42:44Speaker 9: That's all we want. What does coach look for out
- 42:47Speaker 9: there in this practice, this far in camp.
- 42:49Speaker 8: This feign practice, in this camp, he was looking for dogs, man,
- 42:53Speaker 8: He's looking for guys that are really hustling and going
- 42:57Speaker 8: ahead and putting forth to effort each day in and
- 42:59Speaker 8: day out, and see are you making progress towards your goals?
- 43:03Speaker 1: Can you be a dog in this part of camp
- 43:05Speaker 1: if you're not hitting each other?
- 43:07Speaker 8: Oh yeah, oh yeah, I can physically and mentally dominate
- 43:10Speaker 8: you every play.
- 43:12Speaker 9: Are you studying before practice? Of course? And what are
- 43:15Speaker 9: you studying some of my awards? My fast place?
- 43:20Speaker 8: Maybe just like certain how he wants to routes or
- 43:23Speaker 8: techniques of other players.
- 43:25Speaker 10: In the past.
- 43:26Speaker 1: What's been the biggest change with the coaching from where
- 43:29Speaker 1: you were last year at USC to here with the Chargers.
- 43:32Speaker 8: I would have to say the details are the only
- 43:36Speaker 8: things here. Everything matters because at this point in time,
- 43:42Speaker 8: time is of the essence in this game is so
- 43:45Speaker 8: much faster. The d linemen are getting off the ball
- 43:48Speaker 8: so much quicker. You're gonna have to go ahead, get
- 43:50Speaker 8: in and out that route. So justin go ahead and
- 43:52Speaker 8: put you in the right direction.
- 43:54Speaker 1: You guys have had practice with the rams already, right,
- 43:56Speaker 1: What was that like actually playing against those other guys?
- 43:59Speaker 9: You don't practice every single day.
- 44:01Speaker 8: I thought the speed was gonna be like a big
- 44:03Speaker 8: jump in the NFL, But our coaches have put us
- 44:07Speaker 8: in the right position, that the game actually slows down
- 44:10Speaker 8: because of how fast we're going to each shit and
- 44:11Speaker 8: every day.
- 44:12Speaker 1: Do you have somebody on this team that has been
- 44:14Speaker 1: a bit of a mentor to you just in your
- 44:16Speaker 1: brief time here, or that you look up to if
- 44:18Speaker 1: you have questions about playing in the league.
- 44:20Speaker 8: Well, there's plenty of guys. Of course, Herbert even Stick
- 44:23Speaker 8: in our all receiver room, josh Palmer, Joshua Palmer. There's
- 44:28Speaker 8: plenty of guys, even Derwin James and Khalil Mack. It's
- 44:31Speaker 8: just I would like to go ahead and see how
- 44:33Speaker 8: they lead so I can go Hey, when my time comes,
- 44:36Speaker 8: I can do it in the right way.
- 44:38Speaker 1: Give me your mount rushmore favorite players growing up when
- 44:41Speaker 1: you were watching football, those.
- 44:43Speaker 9: Four were your absolute favorite.
- 44:45Speaker 8: Julio Jones, Megatron, Davonte Adams, Antonio Brown.
- 44:50Speaker 9: All receivers, Larry fitzher Of course, why would I say anything,
- 44:55Speaker 9: I don't know.
- 44:55Speaker 1: Maybe there was a question did you always play wide
- 44:57Speaker 1: receiver as a kid, or you ever the premier athlete.
- 44:59Speaker 9: They wanted to put every were on the field of
- 45:00Speaker 9: who I.
- 45:00Speaker 8: Was everywhere I was running back, I played lineman, quarterback.
- 45:04Speaker 9: Yeah, why who put you in line? Was a dog.
- 45:08Speaker 10: I'm sure you were.
- 45:09Speaker 9: Oh, I know, I just can't believe they'll put you
- 45:11Speaker 9: a lineman.
- 45:12Speaker 1: Kid.
- 45:12Speaker 9: You healthy. I really appreciate the time. I have a
- 45:15Speaker 9: great shoat. Yeah picks.
- 45:17Speaker 1: Here's day On Henley, second year player, middle linebacker. He'll
- 45:21Speaker 1: be starting this year. He played mostly special teams as
- 45:23Speaker 1: a rookie. Last year you said Don Henley, no day
- 45:26Speaker 1: on day on the Eagle.
- 45:29Speaker 2: It's like, oh, he's a training camp cool.
- 45:31Speaker 1: And really be struggling. So here's that day On Henley.
- 45:36Speaker 9: I just saw you tell a kid you had him.
- 45:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:38Speaker 9: I imagine these kids like they lived for this, right.
- 45:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 45:42Speaker 9: Did you ever get to meet the athletes you were
- 45:43Speaker 9: a kid.
- 45:44Speaker 11: When I was growing up, I definitely met the Shawn
- 45:46Speaker 11: Jackson Artabius Bryant, and I think that was like the
- 45:50Speaker 11: two biggest.
- 45:51Speaker 10: Guys I had met growing up. Of course, I'm probably
- 45:53Speaker 10: missing something, but I'm not not at that age.
- 45:55Speaker 9: Did you meet de Sean Jackson as a kid.
- 45:56Speaker 11: Oh, well, my dad, so my dad, and he has
- 46:00Speaker 11: a connection to a lot of people. And Sean Jackson
- 46:03Speaker 11: is like from CALLI from Long Beach, so that's not
- 46:05Speaker 11: too far for me. I'm from here as well, so
- 46:07Speaker 11: that just kind of happened.
- 46:09Speaker 9: That's your second camp. This is my second camp going
- 46:12Speaker 9: into this.
- 46:13Speaker 1: How'd you approach it differently than the first time when
- 46:15Speaker 1: you went in wide eyed, didn't had no idea.
- 46:17Speaker 11: Well, I knew I had like this camp, and I
- 46:19Speaker 11: wanted to come in and approach you with the like
- 46:22Speaker 11: more intensity, like I wanted more from this season. Like
- 46:24Speaker 11: it was just about this camp. I wanted more from
- 46:26Speaker 11: this season than last. So I knew that I had
- 46:27Speaker 11: to take a different approach.
- 46:28Speaker 10: I had to be more.
- 46:29Speaker 11: Detailed, more mentally involved, and come with a better physical
- 46:33Speaker 11: you know, just stance on everything.
- 46:35Speaker 9: When did you start training for this year?
- 46:37Speaker 1: So last year ended, you take a break and then
- 46:40Speaker 1: how long until you start getting back on it.
- 46:42Speaker 11: I mean they say give you the time like by
- 46:45Speaker 11: this some rest, but I felt like my last season
- 46:47Speaker 11: ended in a way that I didn't want to see.
- 46:49Speaker 11: So I mean I gave myself about a week or
- 46:51Speaker 11: two before I started to do like little rehabing, you know,
- 46:54Speaker 11: like just warm.
- 46:55Speaker 10: The body up. But like we didn't know where our
- 46:57Speaker 10: coach was.
- 46:58Speaker 11: I can't say I was like regularly ready to figure
- 47:01Speaker 11: out like what the playbook was going to be but
- 47:03Speaker 11: as far as my body, like about a week or
- 47:05Speaker 11: two after I started to like take start to take
- 47:07Speaker 11: care of myself, like start to get more active and
- 47:09Speaker 11: not just be It's not normal for NFL athlete to
- 47:12Speaker 11: just sit down and be, you know, stagnant for long.
- 47:16Speaker 1: Has there been a culture change in the locker room
- 47:18Speaker 1: with the new crew coming in new coaches?
- 47:20Speaker 10: Oh, definitely, it's lit.
- 47:22Speaker 9: What's the difference, Like, what's the day to day difference?
- 47:24Speaker 11: I mean, first of all, we are The best way
- 47:28Speaker 11: to say it is like we're more detailed, more in depth.
- 47:30Speaker 11: I think, like from last year to this year, it's
- 47:32Speaker 11: a standard that has to be uphild, and that standard.
- 47:35Speaker 10: Is set by the people.
- 47:37Speaker 11: One of the best things I've heard so far through
- 47:39Speaker 11: all this is like the standard set by the people
- 47:41Speaker 11: is not set by the coaches, about the people who's
- 47:43Speaker 11: involved in I think we have a pretty good standard
- 47:45Speaker 11: right now. It's like, you know, we want to cut
- 47:47Speaker 11: drag for meetings. Cut drag meaning like we want to
- 47:49Speaker 11: start about five minutes ahead, like you're not late.
- 47:51Speaker 10: If you get their own time. But amongst the team,
- 47:55Speaker 10: that's no late.
- 47:56Speaker 11: I'm saying, like be there, bro, So like that's the
- 47:58Speaker 11: type of the mentality we have, like we want to
- 48:00Speaker 11: do things the right way, and I think that's just
- 48:03Speaker 11: the best way to put it.
- 48:04Speaker 1: What was the first time you met coach or was
- 48:07Speaker 1: it a big players on all players meeting?
- 48:09Speaker 3: Like, how was that instruction?
- 48:11Speaker 11: No, the first time I met coach, I was walking
- 48:14Speaker 11: through the facility. I knew he had just got hired,
- 48:16Speaker 11: so I was hoping to catch him because it was.
- 48:18Speaker 10: A whole lot of media going on.
- 48:19Speaker 11: I knew he was a busy man, but I had
- 48:21Speaker 11: caught him in one of the middle of his pants tugs,
- 48:24Speaker 11: you know he do. Like I was walking, I didn't
- 48:26Speaker 11: know if it was him, but then he hit one
- 48:28Speaker 11: of the I was like, that's my coach, that's my coach.
- 48:31Speaker 11: I got to shake his hand, say what's up, and
- 48:32Speaker 11: it was We hit it off, man, Like I think
- 48:34Speaker 11: he pretty much hit it off with everybody. He probably
- 48:36Speaker 11: meant because that's the type of guy he is. But
- 48:38Speaker 11: that was a great day.
- 48:39Speaker 1: Before you go into a game, are you prepared that
- 48:42Speaker 1: it's going to hurt the entire time? Like?
- 48:44Speaker 9: Is that it? Because I feel like that, I would
- 48:45Speaker 9: be like, man, it's gonna hurt the whole game.
- 48:47Speaker 11: I mean, no, No, if you're going with that mindset,
- 48:50Speaker 11: you might be scared to make some players I want
- 48:53Speaker 11: to say, I'd.
- 48:53Speaker 9: Rather get hurt, but it hurts no, Nona.
- 48:56Speaker 11: You just prepare yourself for what comes next. But you
- 48:59Speaker 11: don't ever think about it. If you come out the
- 49:01Speaker 11: game feeling great, did you play hard enough?
- 49:04Speaker 10: Did you really play hard enough? That's what you gotta think.
- 49:06Speaker 11: So you want to go into that game like, no
- 49:08Speaker 11: matter what comes at me, I got it, I got it.
- 49:11Speaker 10: So you don't want to you don't think about your body.
- 49:12Speaker 11: You want to say your body's prepared for anything, Like
- 49:15Speaker 11: you want to be prepared for anything that comes at you.
- 49:17Speaker 9: Give me your mount Rushmore for players growing up, did
- 49:19Speaker 9: you watch that?
- 49:20Speaker 12: Were your favorite?
- 49:21Speaker 11: Okay, so growing up, I would definitely say Michael Vick.
- 49:25Speaker 10: Like just it's Michael Vick.
- 49:27Speaker 9: Did you play quarterback?
- 49:29Speaker 1: You since you were I'm assuming you're the best athlete
- 49:31Speaker 1: in like town, city, stay.
- 49:34Speaker 10: You know right here this field best athlete.
- 49:37Speaker 11: You know what I'm saying, field, state, whatever car, I'm
- 49:42Speaker 11: in whatever house, I'm sitting in whatever couch I'm on.
- 49:45Speaker 9: I'm the best athlete.
- 49:47Speaker 10: You know what I'm saying.
- 49:47Speaker 11: So you know, of course I gotta, you know, watch
- 49:50Speaker 11: everybody I was out. Randy Moss was the dopest, like
- 49:53Speaker 11: obviously Tom Brady, Michael Vick and who else. I would
- 49:59Speaker 11: say Ray Lewis, like those were like my Mount rushmore
- 50:03Speaker 11: like those the four guys.
- 50:04Speaker 10: It's four heads on my other store.
- 50:06Speaker 9: He didn't put the Seann Jackson on there.
- 50:07Speaker 1: But I love him.
- 50:09Speaker 9: Yeah, it was it too much love, like it was
- 50:10Speaker 9: too human.
- 50:11Speaker 11: Like yeah, I'm saying, like you they say, don't meet
- 50:14Speaker 11: try those because like then they become human.
- 50:16Speaker 10: I'm at d Jack and like, not only.
- 50:18Speaker 11: Did I meet him like he was established, so like
- 50:20Speaker 11: it's not even just like the Djack thing for me,
- 50:23Speaker 11: It's like that's like my big cousin, So him I
- 50:26Speaker 11: got to watch because one, he was legendary, he's golded.
- 50:30Speaker 11: But also, I said, Michael Vick, and you know, I'm
- 50:33Speaker 11: twenty four, so like my Michael Vick, I barely got
- 50:36Speaker 11: any Atlanta Michael big Like I'm saying, like highlights.
- 50:40Speaker 9: Egos Michael Vick exactly, so I got to see him
- 50:42Speaker 9: go crazy.
- 50:43Speaker 1: Last question last year, your first season in the league. Yeah,
- 50:47Speaker 1: who did you line.
- 50:48Speaker 9: Up across from where you had that? All right, I'm
- 50:50Speaker 9: about to go hard. But that's freaking cool. I'm lined
- 50:52Speaker 9: up across from that dude.
- 50:53Speaker 10: I would definitely say.
- 50:57Speaker 11: Probably I got to see Leonard Fournett and I was like,
- 51:02Speaker 11: it was Leonard Fornett. That's crazy even to even think about,
- 51:05Speaker 11: like one of those guys. And then being up close
- 51:09Speaker 11: in that like proximity of both Mahomes and.
- 51:13Speaker 10: Lamar's like, those are like what I'm saying.
- 51:15Speaker 11: You look at those guys and you see what they've
- 51:17Speaker 11: done and what they're doing because they're so active.
- 51:19Speaker 9: It's like, yeah, I appreciate you.
- 51:23Speaker 1: And lastly, it's Dicker the Kicker. Cameron Dicker, Yes, best
- 51:26Speaker 1: name in the NFL. Dick or the Kicker, made news
- 51:28Speaker 1: a few years ago when he got a call from
- 51:30Speaker 1: the Chargers in like an emergency kicker situation and he
- 51:33Speaker 1: was going to the Carry Underwood concert and then instead
- 51:35Speaker 1: he went and kicked and won the game. Big thanks
- 51:38Speaker 1: to camera for joining us here. When a new coach
- 51:41Speaker 1: comes in, does that change your anything as the kicker?
- 51:46Speaker 13: I think if new special teams coaches. Yes, with new
- 51:49Speaker 13: head coaches, there's certain things that they might implement that
- 51:52Speaker 13: they tell the special teams coach to do. Most of
- 51:54Speaker 13: the time special teams. Coaches have almost full control special teams,
- 51:57Speaker 13: and so everything stays the same for me.
- 51:59Speaker 1: How did Jumie coacharball with the first time or have
- 52:02Speaker 1: you even?
- 52:02Speaker 12: Yeah?
- 52:03Speaker 13: I have his first might have been his first weekend
- 52:07Speaker 13: or second weekend in town. I texted him in the
- 52:10Speaker 13: off seasons I was still here and he and I
- 52:11Speaker 13: went to church.
- 52:12Speaker 9: So that was my first time gating in Huh, how
- 52:15Speaker 9: many balls? I have friends play basketball and they get it.
- 52:18Speaker 9: Try to get episode amount of shots a day or
- 52:19Speaker 9: a week. Is it similar with kickers? Is there a
- 52:22Speaker 9: number you try to chase?
- 52:24Speaker 12: Try to limit it?
- 52:25Speaker 13: So I don't ever really count reps, but I'd put
- 52:30Speaker 13: it in the ballpark of like fifty reps on days
- 52:32Speaker 13: I kick, and which is twice a week other than
- 52:34Speaker 13: game day. So I'll during season, I'll kick Sunday on
- 52:37Speaker 13: game day and then do Wednesday Thursday.
- 52:39Speaker 1: The mental aspect of this is obviously a big part
- 52:42Speaker 1: of what you do. Does your heart rate climb during
- 52:45Speaker 1: a game and do you monitor your heart rate?
- 52:47Speaker 13: I think I don't monitor it. I don't think it
- 52:51Speaker 13: really climbs. I think it either stays same or might
- 52:54Speaker 13: drop in those moments because I just like to like
- 52:57Speaker 13: zone out and get as like mellow as I can.
- 53:00Speaker 1: Can you zone out if it's a kick to potentially
- 53:03Speaker 1: tie or win the game?
- 53:04Speaker 9: Can you separate?
- 53:05Speaker 10: Yeah?
- 53:06Speaker 9: Is that something you could always do?
- 53:07Speaker 13: Something I've been able to do since I was young,
- 53:09Speaker 13: So yeah, something I don't know how, but I've just been.
- 53:12Speaker 12: Able to do it.
- 53:14Speaker 1: Is there a difference with a new deep snapper long
- 53:18Speaker 1: snapper and one that has been around for a long time.
- 53:23Speaker 13: I think just having the stability in his mental side
- 53:26Speaker 13: helps a lot, because like everybody's gonna mess up in
- 53:29Speaker 13: some way at some point, and so he knows, like,
- 53:32Speaker 13: that's not the way I am. They know that's not
- 53:34Speaker 13: the way I am. So he's not worried about anything happening.
- 53:37Speaker 13: I think just him being able to help me kind
- 53:39Speaker 13: of going into new stadiums, being.
- 53:41Speaker 12: In Josh and you're thirteen for us, so him being
- 53:45Speaker 12: able to.
- 53:45Speaker 13: Say, hey, the past is how stuff has gone here,
- 53:47Speaker 13: blah blah blah, and kind of walk me through how
- 53:49Speaker 13: stadiums work.
- 53:50Speaker 12: And all that.
- 53:50Speaker 9: Can you shake off and miss pretty quick.
- 53:52Speaker 12: Very easily?
- 53:53Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 53:53Speaker 13: Make makes and missus I'd say, are gone out of
- 53:57Speaker 13: my mind instantly, what was.
- 53:59Speaker 9: Your bigges high school kick?
- 54:00Speaker 1: Not the longest, but the most important high school kick.
- 54:04Speaker 13: We had a game winner, actually a game tying kick
- 54:08Speaker 13: I'll say against Sibilo Steel when our quarterback went out
- 54:12Speaker 13: of the game and we had our backup quarterback as
- 54:14Speaker 13: one of my best friends who went into the game
- 54:16Speaker 13: and drove us down the field and I hit a
- 54:18Speaker 13: I think it was a forty or fifty yard at.
- 54:20Speaker 12: A tire the game.
- 54:21Speaker 1: Could you ever play multiple positions and you were also
- 54:23Speaker 1: the kicker or when did you start going I'm only
- 54:25Speaker 1: dialing in a gay.
- 54:26Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 54:26Speaker 13: When I first started playing football, which was in Shanghai, China,
- 54:29Speaker 13: I was a left guard and I hated it. I
- 54:31Speaker 13: thought the sport sucks, this.
- 54:32Speaker 12: Isn't for me.
- 54:34Speaker 13: Then we moved to the United States to sixth grade,
- 54:35Speaker 13: I only played soccer, and then seventh grade we started
- 54:38Speaker 13: playing football again because everybody does in Texas, and I
- 54:41Speaker 13: was an alignment again, thought this is awful, and decided
- 54:44Speaker 13: I'm just gonna kick. This is not for me again,
- 54:47Speaker 13: and so started kicking from there and kicked all the
- 54:50Speaker 13: eighth grade and then high school.
- 54:52Speaker 12: I told the coaches, I'm not playing another position.
- 54:54Speaker 1: I don't want to do this, so you chose to
- 54:57Speaker 1: only focus on kicking from eighth grade on?
- 55:00Speaker 9: And when did you start.
- 55:01Speaker 1: To actually play for the high school team?
- 55:03Speaker 3: Was it ninth grade?
- 55:04Speaker 12: Ninth grade?
- 55:04Speaker 9: Because you can't nathe because it's too many years, right,
- 55:06Speaker 9: you get four years? And did you start as a
- 55:08Speaker 9: ninth grader in you high school team?
- 55:09Speaker 13: I was on the a team of freshmen, and then
- 55:11Speaker 13: sophomore year I won the starting.
- 55:13Speaker 12: Job for the varsity.
- 55:15Speaker 9: Did you punt as well?
- 55:16Speaker 12: I punted junior and senior year.
- 55:19Speaker 9: Could you egency punt here and now if they needed
- 55:21Speaker 9: to do?
- 55:22Speaker 12: I'm ready, I'm ready.
- 55:23Speaker 9: Do you ever pray? Okay? What about a play? If
- 55:25Speaker 9: they're like, all right, do you have a play? I
- 55:27Speaker 9: don't even want you to say what it is.
- 55:28Speaker 1: But you're so excited if they call because it's a
- 55:30Speaker 1: fake and you really get to shine.
- 55:31Speaker 13: I wish, I wish that'd be fun.
- 55:35Speaker 12: I wish we had the opportunity.
- 55:36Speaker 9: To, like a direct snap roll out again.
- 55:39Speaker 3: I wish man.
- 55:40Speaker 13: I'm just I'm hoping one day, one day they have
- 55:43Speaker 13: faith in me.
- 55:43Speaker 12: But we'll see.
- 55:44Speaker 9: What do you get out of camp?
- 55:46Speaker 13: I think it's just good to come out here and
- 55:48Speaker 13: then be able to kick in front of fans and
- 55:50Speaker 13: talk with people, and then hang out with the guys.
- 55:54Speaker 13: You have long days with each other and so being
- 55:56Speaker 13: in the locker room playing ping pong, beating everybody and enjoying.
- 55:59Speaker 9: Life off season?
- 56:00Speaker 3: Where you live?
- 56:02Speaker 13: I travel. I don't have a home, so I just
- 56:05Speaker 13: travel around. I try to do a month in usually
- 56:08Speaker 13: another country somewhere and wow, figure something out.
- 56:12Speaker 9: We're off from awesome movie.
- 56:13Speaker 1: We're Austin, folks, And I thought you'd say maybe back
- 56:16Speaker 1: in Aues.
- 56:17Speaker 12: I do go to Austin. That's technically home base.
- 56:19Speaker 13: I go to my parents' house and just throw all
- 56:21Speaker 13: my stuff there and I'm there for four days and
- 56:23Speaker 13: then go on a trip somewhere.
- 56:25Speaker 12: And I'll be I use that kind of as my
- 56:26Speaker 12: resting spot.
- 56:27Speaker 1: How would your Special Teams coach describe you as a
- 56:30Speaker 1: human if someone went out and said, hey, what's camera
- 56:33Speaker 1: like as a person that was a kicker?
- 56:35Speaker 12: Awful die? I just think like a good dude who's
- 56:40Speaker 12: lighthearted and it doesn't take anything too seriously.
- 56:43Speaker 1: My final three, can you hear the crowd screaming at
- 56:46Speaker 1: you when you're about to kick?
- 56:48Speaker 13: Not what I'm about to kick, but like when we're
- 56:50Speaker 13: just staying on the sidebin and yeah, I listen, but when.
- 56:52Speaker 12: I run on the field everything, I don't hear anything.
- 56:54Speaker 12: Everything's just kind of like noise.
- 56:57Speaker 9: Can you be iced?
- 56:59Speaker 12: I don't think it.
- 57:01Speaker 9: Do you think more is made of that than Actually?
- 57:04Speaker 13: Yeah, I think it's like a silly thing that people
- 57:07Speaker 13: bring attention to in a way just because I'm like,
- 57:10Speaker 13: you're gonna make a miss the kick if you ice
- 57:11Speaker 13: me or not. Like, I guess it doesn't affect what
- 57:13Speaker 13: I'm doing. It's just like, okay, we're just delaying this
- 57:16Speaker 13: whole process for everybody.
- 57:17Speaker 1: So final question, barefoot? Do you kick barefoot?
- 57:20Speaker 8: Ever?
- 57:20Speaker 3: Never? Okay?
- 57:21Speaker 9: That just seems stupid.
- 57:22Speaker 10: Yeah, it wouldn't feel good.
- 57:23Speaker 12: We'll just hurt the foot. It's not fun.
- 57:25Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, So here's the thing. So my friend Thomas
- 57:29Speaker 1: Rhett is a country singer. My friend Rich Eisen is
- 57:32Speaker 1: ESPN guy sports guy, And so I got this error
- 57:35Speaker 1: card and I'm going to auction this for Saint Jude.
- 57:38Speaker 9: But it's like a re.
- 57:39Speaker 1: Soul send card and we're gonna get him to sign
- 57:40Speaker 1: it at the end, but I want like prominent people,
- 57:43Speaker 1: would you mind signing it with Thomas Rhett, all right,
- 57:46Speaker 1: I want to give you this marker here.
- 57:48Speaker 9: We're gonna auction off for charity.
- 57:50Speaker 12: Sweet boom.
- 57:52Speaker 9: Appreciate you.
- 57:54Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 57:56Speaker 1: That's the end of our NFL preview show. And everything
- 57:59Speaker 1: we said his gospel and take it to the bank.
- 58:01Speaker 6: Oh it's gonna happen too, is very single thing crazy.
- 58:06Speaker 1: It is exciting though so and it's exciting every single year,
- 58:09Speaker 1: which you think at this point if we've done it
- 58:10Speaker 1: so many years but it's football's back, you wouldn't be.
- 58:13Speaker 2: Is excited, but it's exciting every year.
- 58:15Speaker 1: Thank you, guys. We'll have two normal episodes coming up
- 58:19Speaker 1: this week, so we'll have one on Wednesday and one
- 58:21Speaker 1: on Friday. We won't do three episodes every week just
- 58:24Speaker 1: because of the college and NFL preview episodes is one extra.
- 58:29Speaker 1: But we will see you guys on Wednesday with another show.
- 58:32Speaker 1: Go follow us at Bobby Bones Sports. Thanks for listen
- 58:35Speaker 1: to twenty five whistles. Addie Westle's out here. We're good
- 58:37Speaker 1: byey body.
