- 0:15If you are a woman who is looking to live your personal truth
- 0:19and make the impact you truly desire, you are in the right place.
- 0:25I'm your host, Wendy Yacboski. Let's step out in this together.
- 0:32So where do you find your truest answers?
- 0:36Let me share with you where I have found mine over the past few years.
- 0:43As a non-denominational minister, as you can imagine, I've done a lot of reading,
- 0:49a lot of studying spiritual books. I've been very much into personal development,
- 0:55so I've read a lot of personal development books.
- 0:59And what I found is that I got away from listening to myself
- 1:07and got into a place where someone else, some author, some teacher, whoever it was,
- 1:14has my answers for me, what they know I need to know so that I can tell others about it.
- 1:22And in that way, I'll have to be honest, I felt safer in what I was sharing.
- 1:29But what I came to find was that I wasn't feeling grounded in my being with it.
- 1:37I was starting to feel confident intellectually because I understood different principles,
- 1:43I remembered different points, I knew they were important to others in order to
- 1:49perhaps let go or to embrace something in their lives.
- 1:54But I wasn't embodying it where I was living it, I needed to get it into my heart.
- 2:03So one of the things I've done for personal development throughout the years
- 2:08is I learned how to get still. I learned how to, well, the first way I did that was actually through
- 2:19meditation. And I remember, you might relate to this yourself if you have ever meditated,
- 2:26I used to be afraid to let go because if I was listening to my inner wisdom,
- 2:33then my higher wisdom, which I called God, would tell me something about myself that either I
- 2:41didn't like or that I needed to do that I didn't want to do. Have you ever had that experience?
- 2:48So it makes you not really want to go in very much if you have those kinds of thoughts about yourself.
- 2:54But here's the thing that I've learned is that I am safe in the stillness. I am safe in the silence
- 3:03because once I believed that life, not the world life, but the spiritual life is for me,
- 3:12I knew there was nothing to fear. I wouldn't be told, I wouldn't hear anything that wasn't
- 3:21coming from love. It would only be for my highest and best. And in being able to
- 3:29allow that to be my truth with practice, I started feeling like I was embodying
- 3:35a greater wisdom than I had ever gotten from books. Now, don't get me wrong.
- 3:44Reading is a good thing. Studying is a good thing. And the third thing that is really good
- 3:50is about embodying it. And we don't know what we embody until we actually go within.
- 4:00What do I really believe? What do I really think? Can I feel myself doing this?
- 4:08So it's one of the ways that has helped me to move forward that is critical, is critical to my sense
- 4:17of self. Because there are times, who doesn't, where I maybe worry about a decision that I
- 4:25want to make. Maybe I worry about the result of something. The only way that I get peace
- 4:34is by going within and getting quiet. And that framework is a three-piece process.
- 4:45It begins with pausing. Once we've paused, we get still, which is a deeper level yet.
- 4:56And the third part is that we listen within, a deeper level yet. Now, those might sound
- 5:06like they're the same thing, but they're actually not. They are three different steps. Getting quiet,
- 5:18getting out of the noise, and the world is really noisy right now, is essential
- 5:27to hearing the truth that we are looking for within ourselves, that guidance that is here for us
- 5:35all the time. Let me ask you, have you ever tried to find an answer when your mind is racing?
- 5:45What you should do, what you should remember, what you should be thinking, whatever that is,
- 5:51it doesn't work, right? We need to do something differently. We can't force an answer. We can't
- 5:58force a truth out of ourselves. We need to open to it, allow it to express itself.
- 6:05I have had experiences that are really the most incredible. I wonder to myself,
- 6:12where did that come from? Those words, that urging, that truth that I just knew was true,
- 6:23but yet when I tried to think about it all the time, it just couldn't come. It feels so important
- 6:31for me to help you to be able to allow yourself to have the space to hear what's actually within you,
- 6:40not what you and I and all of us have been conditioned to do to be successful,
- 6:48which is to listen to others, how they did it. How many of you have experienced
- 6:56somebody saying, wow, that person is fantastic. You're going to just get where you want to go
- 7:02by listening to that person. You did your best, you worked your butt off to do it the way they
- 7:07did it, but something just wasn't working. What wasn't working is your and my truth
- 7:17that comes from us. That's where we need to go. My wish for you is that through this podcast today,
- 7:27through each podcast that you listen to, that you open more and more to your authentic truth,
- 7:35that soul of you that is speaking, even when you can't hear it, always speaking, always loving,
- 7:45always supporting. As we move through these podcasts, you are going to find ways that work
- 7:50for you to pause, to get still, and to listen within.
