- C0681: You crushed your number last quarter, and your reward was a new number that's more than double the old number. My name is Sean. Welcome back to Prayer Before Work. Now, someone in tech sales sure shared this one with me because last quarter most of their team missed quota, even with much lower targets. This person had one of the highest quotas in the team and still hit over 140%. Well now the new quotas are out and theirs is the highest by far, more than double what it was before. So everyone else got numbers that they can actually reach. So the people who missed will probably hit their bonuses this time. And the one who worked hardest is staring at a target that feels impossible. Now they asked their manager to lower it, and he said he can't. Well now they're thinking about emailing the director or going straight to the top or just starting a job search and they've lost all motivation. I I get that. When doing well gets treated like punishment, it it's hard to want to keep doing well. But Proverbs 1522 says, without counsel, plans fail, but with many advisors they succeed. That's not a verse about whether you're right, but it you you might be completely right. It's it's just about how you move from here. Right. So frustration likes to make decisions alone and fast. An angry email to the CEO feels great for about 10 minutes. It can also close doors you'll want open later. So before you do anything, get some counsel. Talk to someone who's been in sales longer than you. Ask your manager how quotas are actually set and who sets them. It's possible her his hands are really just tied in the whole matter. And if the director is the right person to talk to, ask your manager to help you get that conversation started. Or at least let him know that you're going to have it. Right? That keeps everything honest and above board. And looking for a new job is that's always a fair option, but just let it be with a plan built with wise input. And not a reaction to one bad week. I mean, your track record's real. Someone else will see it, even even this company can't write now. So let's pray. Lord, it's discouraging when working hard feels like it costs us instead of rewards us. But give us the patience to slow down when we're frustrated and the humility to ask for advice before we act. And Lord, put wise people around us who will tell us the truth. If there's a way to make this right where we are, that means show us. And if it's time to move on, Lord, open the right door and give us peace about walking through it. We lift these prayers to you in Jesus' name. Amen. All right. Go make today count.
