- 0:00Speaker 1: Well, here we go. Welcome, boys and girls. 3.06 in
- 0:02Speaker 1: the afternoon. Ron Ferb, News Radio 570 WKBN, by the way. It's,
- 0:07Speaker 1: what is it, 85 degrees. Not a bad day. In
- 0:11Speaker 1: my neck of the woods, we had a little bit
- 0:12Speaker 1: of rain this morning, but all in all, not too shabby.
- 0:15Speaker 1: A little humid out there. Is it too soon to
- 0:17Speaker 1: complain about the heat and humidity? Probably so, right? But anyway,
- 0:21Speaker 1: it's Tuesday, May 19th, 85 degrees with you till 6
- 0:25Speaker 1: o'clock tonight. Then the Guardians pregame here on NewsRadio 570.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Today will be an interesting day. Tonight should be an
- 0:33Speaker 1: interesting night. This Thomas Massey race in Kentucky, which is
- 0:41Speaker 1: really strange. I mean, it's really strange how Trump has
- 0:45Speaker 1: turned on a lot of his best supporters who supported
- 0:48Speaker 1: him over the years and And he's really just kind
- 0:51Speaker 1: of turned on him. I guess if you don't agree
- 0:53Speaker 1: with Trump 100 percent of the time, then you're no good.
- 0:55Speaker 1: But so there is this is going to be one
- 0:59Speaker 1: of the most, if not the most expensive congressional race ever,
- 1:03Speaker 1: with all kinds of money being poured in from. outside
- 1:07Speaker 1: the district by special interest groups. A lot of people
- 1:09Speaker 1: say from that AIPAC or whatever the Israeli lobbyist group is,
- 1:13Speaker 1: and those folks are really pinpointing Massey. He's against all
- 1:18Speaker 1: foreign aid. Massey is against all foreign aid. He says,
- 1:21Speaker 1: we're a country that's $ 40 trillion in debt, and we
- 1:25Speaker 1: can't afford to be given foreign aid to anybody, which incidentally,
- 1:28Speaker 1: I agree with that. The billions we give to Egypt,
- 1:32Speaker 1: the billions we give to Israel or any other country,
- 1:34Speaker 1: we simply can't afford it as a country being $ 40
- 1:39Speaker 1: trillion in debts. And we continue to hand out all
- 1:42Speaker 1: this money, oblivious to our own lot in life, our
- 1:46Speaker 1: own debts and deficits. So when I hear Massey talk
- 1:49Speaker 1: about the fact he's against all foreign aid.
- 1:51Speaker 2: I am too.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Because America first, this is where I live. I'm about America.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Not about giving all these other countries all this money
- 2:00Speaker 1: while we go further in debt and ultimately jeopardize our
- 2:04Speaker 1: own financial future when it comes to Social Security, when
- 2:08Speaker 1: it comes to Medicare, when it comes to many of
- 2:10Speaker 1: the programs that are here that benefit our fellow Americans.
- 2:14Speaker 1: And so I agree with those people that are opposed
- 2:17Speaker 1: to that type of situation. So we will talk about that.
- 2:22Speaker 1: I'm hoping for a G2 appearance today, early, to get
- 2:27Speaker 1: his take. I think it'll be too soon. What'll be
- 2:29Speaker 1: interesting will be a conversation with G2 tomorrow on the
- 2:32Speaker 1: outcome of this Massey thing. So we shall see what
- 2:36Speaker 1: happens here. You're on the air.
- 2:38Speaker 3: Hello.
- 2:40Speaker 4: Well, good afternoon, sir.
- 2:41Speaker 5: How are you?
- 2:42Speaker 1: It's Rich, the pharmacist. Well, I gotta be pretty good
- 2:45Speaker 1: if I'm starting a Tuesday off with you.
- 2:47Speaker 4: Go ahead.
- 2:48Speaker 6: Well, I wouldn't go that far, but we've been talking
- 2:53Speaker 6: a lot about the economy. Yeah, I'm fighting what's going around.
- 2:57Speaker 6: Everybody I know has had it so far. My wife
- 2:59Speaker 6: had it, my son-in-law had it, my granddaughter had it.
- 3:02Speaker 6: I mean, it's just going around.
- 3:03Speaker 1: What is it, a cold or allergies?
- 3:05Speaker 6: No, it's a cold. It's just a good old-fashioned summer cold,
- 3:08Speaker 6: you know, a lot of runniness and congestion. It's probably
- 3:12Speaker 6: COVID-19 or a strain of it, Rich. It's no longer COVID.
- 3:18Speaker 6: It's coldvid. That's basically what it's turned into is a cold.
- 3:22Speaker 6: But everybody's still running in to get their vaccination.
- 3:26Speaker 1: It can be deadly to the elderly, so I'll keep
- 3:28Speaker 1: an eye on you.
- 3:30Speaker 6: Well, I'll keep an eye on you. You've got a
- 3:33Speaker 6: couple more years on you.
- 3:34Speaker 7: Thanks.
- 3:35Speaker 5: All right.
- 3:35Speaker 1: So what's on your minds?
- 3:37Speaker 6: Well, we've been talking a lot about the economy, so
- 3:40Speaker 6: I kind of just, if I could, want to change
- 3:42Speaker 6: the subject to something that, because I was reading some
- 3:45Speaker 6: Wall Street Journal articles lately and other articles, I think CNBC,
- 3:49Speaker 6: and everybody right now, it's college graduation season, and kids
- 3:53Speaker 6: are getting accepted for next year. And one of the
- 3:56Speaker 6: things that I think is just so overrated is there's
- 4:00Speaker 6: so much focus on these kids getting into their dream schools.
- 4:04Speaker 6: You'll see all these articles, and I mean, mountains, their
- 4:08Speaker 6: parents would spend mountains of money to try to get
- 4:10Speaker 6: their kid into an Ivy League school or a public
- 4:14Speaker 6: Ivy someplace, you know, like I think Miami of Ohio,
- 4:17Speaker 6: they consider a public Ivy or University of Virginia, Duke, Vanderbilt.
- 4:23Speaker 6: And I've always wondered, to see what your opinion is,
- 4:28Speaker 6: some of the listeners are, do you really think it
- 4:30Speaker 6: makes a whole heck of a lot of difference? Because
- 4:33Speaker 6: I think with certain exceptions, I don't think it makes
- 4:37Speaker 6: a darn bit of difference for the most part where
- 4:39Speaker 6: you go to school, especially if you're going to get
- 4:41Speaker 6: a degree where you're going to just go out and
- 4:43Speaker 6: work a normal job. If you're going to be an engineer,
- 4:45Speaker 6: a pharmacist, even doctors, lawyers, well, no, lawyers, Ivy League
- 4:50Speaker 6: opens up doors for you that otherwise aren't open. But
- 4:54Speaker 6: I've never really looked at it. I can honestly say
- 4:56Speaker 6: I don't think I've ever looked at the credentials of
- 4:58Speaker 6: any of the doctors that have treated me. I've never said, hey,
- 5:01Speaker 6: can I see your diploma? What school did you go to?
- 5:04Speaker 6: And then you've got these kids that just spend thousands
- 5:07Speaker 6: and thousands of dollars at schools, these little Division III schools,
- 5:13Speaker 6: because they want to continue their high school athletic career.
- 5:17Speaker 6: They were maybe a decent football, baseball, basketball, whatever athlete
- 5:21Speaker 6: in college. They're obviously not Division I or Division II.
- 5:24Speaker 6: They're not going to YSU. They're not going to Ohio State.
- 5:28Speaker 6: They're not getting any athletic scholarships like that. But then
- 5:33Speaker 6: you'll have signing ceremonies. WKBN is always having signing ceremonies
- 5:38Speaker 6: for kids that are going to Mount Union to play
- 5:43Speaker 6: soccer or going to some school I've never heard of,
- 5:46Speaker 6: some tiny little school somewhere that I've never heard of,
- 5:50Speaker 6: to continue their high school athletic career. And the only
- 5:54Speaker 6: thing that I think of is very few of these
- 5:56Speaker 6: kids are going there and getting a free ride, if any.
- 5:58Speaker 6: Because for the most part, I think a lot of
- 6:00Speaker 6: these Division III schools don't pay full rides. They might
- 6:04Speaker 6: give you a couple scholars, which you otherwise wouldn't have
- 6:06Speaker 6: gotten in that. But mom and dad are probably still
- 6:08Speaker 6: on the hook every year. Or you are, because most
- 6:11Speaker 6: of these kids sign student loans and take out the
- 6:14Speaker 6: debt that Joe Biden told them they'll never have to
- 6:16Speaker 6: pay off. But they borrow, in many instances, $ 40, 000, $ 50, 000
- 6:22Speaker 6: a year to go to a Division III college and
- 6:24Speaker 6: continue their athletic career. where they could have gone to YSU,
- 6:28Speaker 6: probably had decent grades anyway, because most kids do today.
- 6:30Speaker 6: You have decent ACT and decent grades, you're probably going
- 6:34Speaker 6: to YSU for $ 6, 000, $ 7, 000 at the most, a lot
- 6:37Speaker 6: of times less. And it just seems to me such
- 6:40Speaker 6: a waste of time and effort that these people are
- 6:43Speaker 6: putting in on this stuff. It just dawned on me
- 6:47Speaker 6: this morning, and I thought, well, rather than sit here
- 6:49Speaker 6: and talk about Iran and inflation and everything else, it
- 6:51Speaker 6: would just be another topic I want to get off
- 6:53Speaker 6: my chest, because it's just something that I think people were,
- 6:57Speaker 6: there's so many parents, I think, that focus on this
- 6:59Speaker 6: or kids that focus on this. And I just think
- 7:02Speaker 6: it's ridiculous most of the time. So I just want
- 7:04Speaker 6: to see what you thought of that.
- 7:05Speaker 1: I find myself in agreement with you. I think it
- 7:07Speaker 1: is ridiculous. How about that? We're not even going to
- 7:10Speaker 1: disagree on that. I never, and a lot of times
- 7:13Speaker 1: when these kids go to some of these schools and
- 7:15Speaker 1: they get a scholarship, there's still huge expenses, as you said,
- 7:18Speaker 1: that the parents have to pay. room and board, all
- 7:20Speaker 1: kinds of stuff. So I think it's ridiculous.
- 7:24Speaker 2: I'm with you.
- 7:24Speaker 1: So far, we're in agreement.
- 7:27Speaker 6: Yeah, so it was just a topic I figured I'd
- 7:29Speaker 6: throw out there today just to see if other people
- 7:32Speaker 6: agree with us, disagree with us. Yeah, Dan Ryan used
- 7:36Speaker 6: to say, well, run up the flagpole and see if
- 7:38Speaker 6: anybody salutes.
- 7:39Speaker 1: That's what we're here for. So let's see if anybody salutes.
- 7:42Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 7:44Speaker 6: What do you think we're going to end up doing
- 7:45Speaker 6: in Iran? Because today was supposed to be bomber day,
- 7:48Speaker 6: and then he pulled back on it. And I haven't
- 7:49Speaker 6: seen anything in the news today that says they've made
- 7:52Speaker 6: an agreement.
- 7:54Speaker 1: I don't... What do I think is going to happen?
- 8:00Speaker 6: I think we're in somewhat of a quagmire.
- 8:04Speaker 1: So do I.
- 8:04Speaker 4: I just..
- 8:06Speaker 1: I mean, you know where I stand. I don't think
- 8:08Speaker 1: it was a good idea from the very beginning. I
- 8:10Speaker 1: make it public. I just say it again. I think
- 8:12Speaker 1: Trump was duped into this as a result of Israel.
- 8:15Speaker 1: I think that's– there's a couple of things that I
- 8:18Speaker 1: would say to you that I say to everybody that
- 8:20Speaker 1: really has bothered me about Trump lately. And that doesn't
- 8:24Speaker 1: mean you hate him or you're going to vote against
- 8:26Speaker 1: him or you'd vote for a Democrat. What bothers me
- 8:28Speaker 1: about Trump is his reversal once again on the Epstein files.
- 8:31Speaker 1: I found it very odd and very strange. I still do.
- 8:34Speaker 1: particularly because he campaigned on it. Then it was like,
- 8:38Speaker 1: all of a sudden it was like, oh, you're still
- 8:40Speaker 1: talking about that? And I found that interesting, his reversal
- 8:44Speaker 1: on Epstein. I also find it interesting, his against regime
- 8:51Speaker 1: change and never-ending battles in the Middle East, getting involved
- 8:55Speaker 1: in this particular situation. And so the third thing I
- 8:58Speaker 1: find disturbing is how he's turning on many of his
- 9:01Speaker 1: supporters who helped him get elected but don't agree with
- 9:03Speaker 1: them on everything, and all of a sudden they're like
- 9:05Speaker 1: poison to him. And he's very mean, bitter, and insulting him.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Those three aspects of him lately, I don't much care for.
- 9:13Speaker 6: Well, I mean, I voted for the guy every time
- 9:17Speaker 6: he's run for anything. But he's not without his flaws.
- 9:20Speaker 6: He's probably one of the biggest narcissists I've ever seen
- 9:24Speaker 6: elected to office. And that's saying something, because politicians tend
- 9:27Speaker 6: to be extremely narcissistic. And he does have a little
- 9:31Speaker 6: bit of a vindictive streak in him.
- 9:34Speaker 1: But why would you be vindictive against people that don't
- 9:39Speaker 1: agree with everything you do? I don't care if it's
- 9:41Speaker 1: Tucker Carlson or it's Massey or it's Bobart or some
- 9:44Speaker 1: of these people. They don't agree with his reversals on Epstein.
- 9:48Speaker 1: They don't agree with his situation with the war in
- 9:51Speaker 1: the Middle East. But if they agree with him on, what, 85%
- 9:56Speaker 1: of the rest of the stuff he does, why do
- 9:58Speaker 1: you say that there bad news? I mean, why do
- 10:01Speaker 1: you insult Tucker Carlson? He's low IQ. Was he low
- 10:04Speaker 1: IQ when he was on stage campaigning for you and
- 10:06Speaker 1: you had him there? I mean, you get what I'm saying.
- 10:09Speaker 1: All of a sudden, it's like, it's just a trait
- 10:13Speaker 1: I don't really much care for. And I sit back
- 10:16Speaker 1: and say, gee, it seems to me affordability, the issue
- 10:20Speaker 1: is back and back strong. And it also seems to
- 10:23Speaker 1: me that getting people out of this country who came
- 10:25Speaker 1: here illegally certainly has disappeared off the radar screen.
- 10:30Speaker 6: Well, I think, unfortunately, there's nobody to negotiate with over there.
- 10:35Speaker 6: I think that's the biggest issue we have. We killed
- 10:37Speaker 6: all the leadership pretty much in the first minute of
- 10:40Speaker 6: the war. And now the people, the diplomat people... don't
- 10:45Speaker 6: have the power that the people holding the guns have,
- 10:47Speaker 6: and the people holding the guns aren't going to capitulate.
- 10:50Speaker 6: So you're kind of in a quagmire. And I am starting,
- 10:54Speaker 6: I mean, while I do think, you know, and I've
- 10:56Speaker 6: said this all along, while I think in the long
- 10:58Speaker 6: run this is going to end up being the right
- 11:01Speaker 6: move to do, I do think it's going to have
- 11:04Speaker 6: some consequences, especially in this November's election, because I don't,
- 11:09Speaker 6: I look at the stock market and how well the
- 11:11Speaker 6: stock market's doing, and I just don't understand it. So
- 11:15Speaker 6: I would love to have somebody that's a financial person
- 11:17Speaker 6: explain to me why the market is doing as well
- 11:19Speaker 6: as it is, considering where we're at in the economy.
- 11:22Speaker 1: Well, I would say this to you. As I would say,
- 11:25Speaker 1: the market did really well under Biden. But I've always
- 11:27Speaker 1: said there's a disconnect between Main Street and Wall Street.
- 11:31Speaker 1: There genuinely is. You cut 10,000 jobs, put a bunch
- 11:34Speaker 1: of people out of work, the stock of the company
- 11:36Speaker 1: goes up because you did cost reduction. You follow me?
- 11:38Speaker 1: So there is that disconnect.
- 11:43Speaker 9: So..
- 11:44Speaker 1: Where am I as far as... I just think there's
- 11:47Speaker 1: some of the stuff. I don't think there's a good
- 11:49Speaker 1: way out of this situation. I said again, I think
- 11:53Speaker 1: he underestimated them. And as far as I think the
- 11:57Speaker 1: administration thought this would be over relatively quick, they kind
- 12:00Speaker 1: of said that. And it's not over relatively quick. And
- 12:04Speaker 1: it doesn't appear that it's going to be over anytime soon,
- 12:07Speaker 1: that they're dug in and they're not going to agree
- 12:10Speaker 1: to a lot of the stuff that Trump insists they
- 12:12Speaker 1: agree to.
- 12:12Speaker 10: So..
- 12:14Speaker 1: Does this just, as you say, quagmire, just continue to
- 12:16Speaker 1: go on like this? I agree with you. I'm worried
- 12:20Speaker 1: about the American economy. I'm worried about this country. And
- 12:25Speaker 1: it seems like he's taken his eye off the ball.
- 12:27Speaker 1: I want to see more people that came here illegally
- 12:30Speaker 1: out of the country. And I want to see the
- 12:31Speaker 1: affordability issue addressed in the country. And I was never
- 12:35Speaker 1: up at night worried about Iran before this happens. And
- 12:40Speaker 1: it might end up being worse because really they didn't.
- 12:44Speaker 1: Now with the straight, they're kind of calling, saying we
- 12:48Speaker 1: got more power here with it than we've used in
- 12:50Speaker 1: the past and we might start using that more often
- 12:53Speaker 1: based on the geography where they're located. So did he
- 12:57Speaker 1: create a monster by doing this? I just put it
- 12:59Speaker 1: out there. I mean, do you think it's okay if
- 13:02Speaker 1: this goes on another six months?
- 13:03Speaker 11: No.
- 13:06Speaker 6: I don't, but don't you find, aren't you a little
- 13:08Speaker 6: bit mystified as to why the rest of the world hasn't,
- 13:11Speaker 6: because as much as it's hurting us with the price
- 13:14Speaker 6: of oil, it's destroying the rest of the world. It's
- 13:18Speaker 6: going to really bother the Chinese because they import the
- 13:21Speaker 6: vast majority of the oil from that area and Europe.
- 13:24Speaker 1: I think it's going to, I think it's affecting us
- 13:26Speaker 1: not just in gas prices, but also with oil. And
- 13:28Speaker 1: I think it's affecting our economy. And I think as
- 13:31Speaker 1: time goes on, it can make it even worse. And
- 13:35Speaker 1: that's what I'm concerned about. Listen, I live in the
- 13:38Speaker 1: United States of America. I'm worried about what's going on
- 13:40Speaker 1: here right now. I believe in America first. I was
- 13:43Speaker 1: not up at night worried about Iran at all. I mean,
- 13:47Speaker 1: we dropped the bunker buster. I thought that took care
- 13:49Speaker 1: of everything. I thought whatever was left was buried in
- 13:52Speaker 1: the mountain. Nothing to worry about. Mission accomplished. See you later.
- 13:57Speaker 1: But now all of a sudden we're back and we
- 13:58Speaker 1: bombed the hell out of them again. Well, okay. So
- 14:03Speaker 1: you say we've taken out all this kind of stuff,
- 14:06Speaker 1: but they're not coming to the negotiating table or surrendering
- 14:08Speaker 1: or whatever it is that you want them to do.
- 14:11Speaker 1: And it's been how long since that's happened. So you
- 14:14Speaker 1: keep saying, well, what are we going to do? You're
- 14:16Speaker 1: going to bomb them some more? Well, what makes you
- 14:17Speaker 1: think that's going to work if you do it again?
- 14:19Speaker 1: I mean, that would be my question to anybody involved.
- 14:23Speaker 1: At what point do you say, okay, these people are
- 14:25Speaker 1: dug in. They're not going to agree to what you
- 14:29Speaker 1: want them to agree to. It doesn't surprise me. I mean,
- 14:35Speaker 1: I wish we'd get the hell out of the Middle East.
- 14:37Speaker 1: That's my thought. And I think he's hurt himself politically.
- 14:41Speaker 1: He doesn't have to worry because he doesn't have to
- 14:43Speaker 1: run for re-election, but he's hurt the Democrat Party. I'm
- 14:47Speaker 1: afraid that he can potentially lose the midterms. I don't
- 14:50Speaker 1: understand it. As frustrated as I can get with Trump,
- 14:53Speaker 1: I voted for him as well three times. I would
- 14:55Speaker 1: never vote for Sherrod Brown or a Democrat. But I
- 14:57Speaker 1: think there are plenty of other people that say, okay,
- 15:00Speaker 1: It's economy stupid, and they will vote for whoever the
- 15:03Speaker 1: opposition party is when they look around and see their
- 15:06Speaker 1: lifestyle declining, just as they did when Biden was president.
- 15:10Speaker 6: Yeah, and I think if you look out, what even
- 15:12Speaker 6: worries me even more is we're pushing to the point
- 15:15Speaker 6: where we're getting close to two years until 2028 when
- 15:17Speaker 6: we pick a new guy. And if the economy goes
- 15:20Speaker 6: south and the Democrats capture both houses and the presidency,
- 15:26Speaker 6: I think they will do things that people have never
- 15:30Speaker 6: really thought were possible. I think they will get rid
- 15:33Speaker 6: of the filibuster. I think they will start to pack
- 15:35Speaker 6: the Supreme Court, look at adding states, D.C., Puerto Rico,
- 15:39Speaker 6: things like that, and abuse their power. And that worries me.
- 15:43Speaker 1: Don't you fault the Republican Party for not acting, taking
- 15:47Speaker 1: all these executive orders and making them into law? I mean,
- 15:50Speaker 1: I find a lot of the Republicans being in charge
- 15:53Speaker 1: being pretty mediocre that they haven't... taken the agenda and
- 15:59Speaker 1: made it more than executive orders. And I fault them
- 16:02Speaker 1: for that. I leave you with that. I got to pause.
- 16:05Speaker 1: Thank you, Rich.
- 16:05Speaker 6: Take care, Ron.
- 16:06Speaker 1: All right, more calls ahead. News Radio 570 WKBN and
- 16:09Speaker 1: Ron Ferb here till 6. Stay tuned. From the kingdom
- 16:12Speaker 1: of Mahoning.
- 16:13Speaker 12: Youngstown's news, weather, and talk station, 570 WKBN.
- 16:19Speaker 1: Howdy ho, 324 here on a Tuesday afternoon. It's 86 degrees.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Ron Ferb, and you're on the air.
- 16:24Speaker 5: Hello there.
- 16:25Speaker 4: Hi, Ron.
- 16:25Speaker 7: How are you?
- 16:26Speaker 5: I'm well.
- 16:27Speaker 1: J.J.
- 16:28Speaker 10: The liberal. Listen, did you happen to see him talking
- 16:32Speaker 10: to the press today?
- 16:34Speaker 1: I did not.
- 16:36Speaker 10: You've got to, in between one of your commercials, just
- 16:39Speaker 10: Google it real quick. As he's speaking and saying, once again, how...
- 16:44Speaker 10: It's not he doesn't care about the gas prices and
- 16:46Speaker 10: how it's affecting us normal Americans. And that he just
- 16:50Speaker 10: doesn't want Iran to have a nuclear war, a weapon.
- 16:53Speaker 10: While in the background, you can hear a sawing going
- 16:55Speaker 10: off and trucks going around. And he's building a $ 1
- 16:59Speaker 10: billion ballroom, which he claims is going to be donations. Now,
- 17:06Speaker 10: my question to you is this. I have my house.
- 17:10Speaker 10: I say I want to move in another two years.
- 17:13Speaker 10: I want to live in it two years. And I say, well,
- 17:15Speaker 10: my house is worth $ 100, 000. Then I go, you know what,
- 17:18Speaker 10: this summer I'm going to put an in-ground pool. So
- 17:20Speaker 10: that in-ground pool goes in, it's $ 10, 000. So I use
- 17:24Speaker 10: it for about a year, a year and a half.
- 17:25Speaker 10: And then when I go to sell it, I only
- 17:28Speaker 10: sell my house still for the $ 100, 000. I'm not going
- 17:31Speaker 10: to add the $ 10, 000 that I spent out of my
- 17:33Speaker 10: pocket to a pool that I only use for a
- 17:35Speaker 10: year and a half. Now, why would anybody do that?
- 17:38Speaker 10: Either they're not paying for it, or you can't tell
- 17:44Speaker 10: me that he's investing something, and these people are investing
- 17:47Speaker 10: something that a Democrat could possibly have in another year
- 17:50Speaker 10: and a half. I just want you guys to just
- 17:53Speaker 10: ponder that for a few moments.
- 17:54Speaker 1: Well, what do you think? I mean, you build a ballroom,
- 17:57Speaker 1: and once you're out, I mean, the future administrations would
- 18:02Speaker 1: use it.
- 18:03Speaker 10: No, Ron. Think, why would you do that? Why would
- 18:07Speaker 10: I do that? I'm either not planning on leaving the
- 18:09Speaker 10: White House or the American people are paying for it,
- 18:14Speaker 10: not my donors and not me. You guys got to
- 18:17Speaker 10: think about that. Just please do me a favor. I'll
- 18:19Speaker 10: call you the next couple of days. Think about my
- 18:21Speaker 10: question there. Anyway, he's telling us we can't lower gas
- 18:25Speaker 10: prices while saying that he has huge, huge boats going
- 18:29Speaker 10: to Alaska, to Texas, to Louisiana to be refined. Now,
- 18:35Speaker 10: we're the only one of the only major countries that
- 18:38Speaker 10: refined it. Russia's the other one. We refine all the
- 18:41Speaker 10: oil in the world. So if we're getting this oil
- 18:43Speaker 10: and refining it, why are the gas prices still high?
- 18:48Speaker 10: And I just don't understand when you're making a comment
- 18:51Speaker 10: like that. There's people like me that go, well, wait
- 18:54Speaker 10: a second. He was so excited about it. He was almost,
- 18:56Speaker 10: you know, had a little weaker, got excited. He was
- 18:59Speaker 10: saying that how important it was that he would get
- 19:01Speaker 10: all this oil, that it was going to states where
- 19:03Speaker 10: they do the refinery, refining of the oil, but the
- 19:07Speaker 10: gas prices are going higher. That doesn't make any sense
- 19:11Speaker 10: other than if somebody's just ripping you off. Okay, I
- 19:13Speaker 10: don't have to be a genius to know that somebody's
- 19:16Speaker 10: playing a little game with me. And it just bothers
- 19:19Speaker 10: me that he can't do that. He can't even, you know,
- 19:21Speaker 10: I understand your point about being upset at people that
- 19:23Speaker 10: are working age of 25 and they're sitting in their
- 19:26Speaker 10: mom's basement smoking out of a bong. Okay, I don't
- 19:31Speaker 10: want that. When I was 25, I was working three jobs.
- 19:33Speaker 10: The thing is, is that I don't want those people
- 19:35Speaker 10: getting freebies. So we should be investing more people into
- 19:39Speaker 10: making sure that those things get caught. Other than that,
- 19:42Speaker 10: there are people that genuinely need some things, but he
- 19:45Speaker 10: wants to spend $ 1 billion claiming that if these people
- 19:48Speaker 10: are donating, why don't they donate it to the people
- 19:50Speaker 10: that need it? If I had a couple hundred million
- 19:53Speaker 10: that I could throw around, don't you think you would
- 19:55Speaker 10: want to go out and help somebody? And I'm asking
- 19:58Speaker 10: you these questions because I pace in my garage all
- 20:00Speaker 10: the time wondering, am I wrong? Am I wrong to
- 20:03Speaker 10: get to it? Am I not thinking correctly that if
- 20:06Speaker 10: I'm going to, why would I spend the money on
- 20:07Speaker 10: a ballroom that I'm only going to use for a
- 20:10Speaker 10: year and a half when I know that maybe a
- 20:11Speaker 10: Democrat's going to come in and use that and they're
- 20:13Speaker 10: going to really enjoy it for four years? It doesn't
- 20:16Speaker 10: make any sense. And I'm just upset that, you know, again,
- 20:20Speaker 10: Rich is on there talking about how it's a Democrat.
- 20:22Speaker 10: It's a Democrat. This war is under his watch, not
- 20:26Speaker 10: my watch. Okay, we were able to keep Iran under
- 20:29Speaker 10: arrest because the money you guys claimed that we gave them,
- 20:33Speaker 10: Obama gave them, that was money that we grabbed from
- 20:36Speaker 10: them for the... What do you call them?
- 20:39Speaker 13: Oh, God.
- 20:44Speaker 10: You want to go against the country and you want
- 20:45Speaker 10: to keep them there. Oh, God, help Iran. Anyway, that
- 20:50Speaker 10: was their money. That was Iran's money. And we took it. Chances.
- 20:54Speaker 10: We took it as a that they had to meet
- 20:56Speaker 10: the requirements by letting us show up any time we
- 20:58Speaker 10: wanted to check that they're doing only so much with
- 21:03Speaker 10: the uranium. I can't remember the word the dirty winter.
- 21:06Speaker 10: So we have to give them.
- 21:09Speaker 1: All right.
- 21:10Speaker 14: I'm sorry.
- 21:10Speaker 10: Can I come back and come back to you, please?
- 21:13Speaker 1: For just a second, yes. All right, hang in. I'll
- 21:16Speaker 1: be back.
- 21:18Speaker 12: News Radio 570 WKVN.
- 21:21Speaker 1: Back to it, News Radio 570 WKVN. And Ron, Verb
- 21:25Speaker 1: 335 here on a Tuesday afternoon. Nice day, 85 degrees.
- 21:29Speaker 1: All right, you're pacing back and forth in the garage.
- 21:31Speaker 10: I'm cool now, 15 seconds. The thing is, you guys
- 21:34Speaker 10: always say that I hate Trump more than I love America.
- 21:38Speaker 10: Because no matter what he would do, I would still
- 21:41Speaker 10: hate him, which I'll claim that I don't hate him.
- 21:43Speaker 10: Second of all, you guys hate Biden just as much
- 21:46Speaker 10: as I supposedly hate Trump. So that means you guys
- 21:49Speaker 10: have Biden syndrome. You have a Biden syndrome on you guys.
- 21:53Speaker 10: You guys got to get looked after, man. You got
- 21:55Speaker 10: a problem there. And second, the last thing I want
- 21:57Speaker 10: to say is the whole idea is for them not
- 22:00Speaker 10: to have a nuclear weapon. What needs to happen for
- 22:03Speaker 10: us to be convinced that they don't? Do you understand?
- 22:06Speaker 10: Do they get it? The pinky swear? It's crossed my heart.
- 22:09Speaker 10: What do they have to do? And we had an
- 22:11Speaker 10: agreement already set up. Think about it again. What needs
- 22:15Speaker 10: to be the end game for me to be guaranteed
- 22:18Speaker 10: and me to feel comfortable that they are not going
- 22:21Speaker 10: to have a nuclear weapon or this is going to
- 22:22Speaker 10: go on for years? Thank you, my friend. I appreciate
- 22:26Speaker 10: you listening.
- 22:26Speaker 1: All right.
- 22:27Speaker 3: Thank you, JJ. The liberal on fire today. News Radio 570.
- 22:31Speaker 3: Wait a second here.
- 22:32Speaker 1: Let me do this. And you're on the air.
- 22:36Speaker 4: Hello, Ron.
- 22:37Speaker 1: Hello, sir.
- 22:40Speaker 15: A slightly different subject, but you don't get to hear
- 22:45Speaker 15: the commercials, but we do. And I noticed there was
- 22:47Speaker 15: a commercial for 570 WKBN during the break. And it
- 22:54Speaker 15: says it's the Youngstown's only talk radio station. What's 1240?
- 23:07Speaker 1: You mean as far as the ID? The news talk station.
- 23:10Speaker 15: What's the other station?
- 23:12Speaker 4: 1240. What do they do?
- 23:14Speaker 1: Those are sports stations.
- 23:16Speaker 15: Well, let them do sports and you stick to talk
- 23:19Speaker 15: so that I don't have to change the station.
- 23:21Speaker 4: As soon as the Indians come on.
- 23:23Speaker 15: And I don't have to find Clay and Buck on
- 23:25Speaker 15: another station when..
- 23:27Speaker 4: When the Indians are playing in the afternoon.
- 23:28Speaker 1: Well, here's the rub. All right. I can appreciate your input.
- 23:33Speaker 1: One thing that you're going to find is we're not
- 23:35Speaker 1: going to be able to please everybody. I can tell
- 23:37Speaker 1: you this. When the Guardians come on, listenership is pretty
- 23:42Speaker 1: solid and pretty strong. I mean, I can appreciate the
- 23:45Speaker 1: fact maybe you don't follow sports. Maybe you don't follow
- 23:48Speaker 1: the Cavaliers having a great season. Maybe you don't follow
- 23:50Speaker 1: baseball or maybe you're not interested in football. But a
- 23:53Speaker 1: hell of a lot of people are. And because that's
- 23:57Speaker 1: what it's all about, we can we've carried.
- 24:01Speaker 7: I understand.
- 24:02Speaker 15: So we're not another station in the area that covers that.
- 24:06Speaker 1: OK, we don't own that station. We have the rights
- 24:08Speaker 1: to the Guardians, and we're going to carry the Guardians
- 24:12Speaker 1: just as we have the rights to the Browns. That's
- 24:17Speaker 1: just a part of it. I can't help it that
- 24:19Speaker 1: you dislike it. Well, then don't listen to it. But
- 24:21Speaker 1: I can tell you this much. A lot of people
- 24:24Speaker 1: tune in for that and not necessarily to the talk show.
- 24:29Speaker 1: So there's a lot of people who tune in to
- 24:31Speaker 1: hear the Guardians that stick around and listen to talk
- 24:33Speaker 1: radio or it exposes them to talk radio. It's more
- 24:36Speaker 1: of a positive than it is a negative.
- 24:40Speaker 4: Okay. I can appreciate that, sir.
- 24:42Speaker 1: All right.
- 24:42Speaker 15: I just wanted to express my frustration when I got
- 24:45Speaker 15: to find another station to listen to Feinbach or something
- 24:48Speaker 15: like that.
- 24:48Speaker 1: All right.
- 24:50Speaker 6: Thanks.
- 24:51Speaker 16: I'd rather stick and listen to 570, but sometimes I can't.
- 24:54Speaker 1: I know, but you can always come back. I appreciate it.
- 24:58Speaker 17: All right.
- 24:59Speaker 1: I get it. As I say, you're never going to
- 25:02Speaker 1: be able to please everybody on everything. I mean, it's
- 25:06Speaker 1: just a lot of people just don't understand the idiosyncrasies
- 25:11Speaker 1: of everything. Like a lot of these network shows are
- 25:15Speaker 1: owned by iHeart. I mean, that's their network, premier network.
- 25:18Speaker 1: So they are a part of the iHeart family, if
- 25:22Speaker 1: you will. News Radio 570, WKBN. Ron Ferb, you're on
- 25:25Speaker 1: the air.
- 25:27Speaker 4: Ron.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Well, look at who we have here. It's the boss lady.
- 25:31Speaker 4: And I listened. I listened.
- 25:34Speaker 1: You listened to what?
- 25:34Speaker 18: I went..
- 25:35Speaker 11: I went and listened to the reels, and I pulled
- 25:39Speaker 11: up the articles on that. Executive over it. Oh, my God.
- 25:47Speaker 19: Dude, that's insane.
- 25:50Speaker 5: I know, isn't it?
- 25:51Speaker 11: I don't believe them.
- 25:53Speaker 1: First of all.
- 25:55Speaker 11: He looks like Beaker from The Muppet Show.
- 25:58Speaker 1: Did you happen to read, don't say it, her nickname
- 26:00Speaker 1: for him? Did she get that?
- 26:03Speaker 4: I know.
- 26:04Speaker 14: How did I miss the nickname?
- 26:06Speaker 1: You'll have to find the nickname. But as I understand it, J.P.
- 26:10Speaker 1: Morgan offered him $ 20 million, and he turned it down.
- 26:14Speaker 11: Yeah, but they're saying, like, if he had with the evidence,
- 26:17Speaker 11: and all her co-workers said nothing. Like, she wasn't even
- 26:22Speaker 11: at the places where he said she was. I think
- 26:25Speaker 11: it's so bizarre. I think he's lying. Really?
- 26:30Speaker 14: Really.
- 26:31Speaker 15: I do.
- 26:32Speaker 11: He looks like Beaker from The Muppet Show. I couldn't
- 26:34Speaker 11: even get past all of it. I kept looking at
- 26:37Speaker 11: him and looking at her and looking back and forth
- 26:39Speaker 11: and going, what is going on?
- 26:41Speaker 1: You know, this is odd because I, too, have done this,
- 26:44Speaker 1: did the same thing and probably had the same thoughts
- 26:47Speaker 1: that you're expressing. I thought, what is this? This doesn't
- 26:51Speaker 1: seem like it makes sense to me based on what
- 26:54Speaker 1: I'm looking at.
- 26:54Speaker 11: I mean, she could have picked a better looking sex slave.
- 26:57Speaker 1: Right, apparently so. But can you believe that? Can you
- 27:00Speaker 1: believe it?
- 27:01Speaker 11: No, I can't. Oh, my gosh. That was crazy.
- 27:05Speaker 20: Yeah.
- 27:06Speaker 1: I mean, it's a hell of a story involving J.P.
- 27:08Speaker 7: Morgan.
- 27:09Speaker 1: And I don't know what office that was out of,
- 27:13Speaker 1: if that was out of New York.
- 27:14Speaker 2: Or where that was out of.
- 27:17Speaker 11: You know what? I didn't catch that either. I feel
- 27:19Speaker 11: like it was New York.
- 27:20Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 27:20Speaker 1: It had to be one of those big cities. But
- 27:23Speaker 1: why would they offer him $ 20 million if they didn't
- 27:25Speaker 1: think there was smoke in his fire?
- 27:27Speaker 11: Probably just to make him shut up and go back
- 27:29Speaker 11: to the Muppet show.
- 27:31Speaker 1: Yeah, but $ 20 million is a lot of money. I
- 27:33Speaker 1: can't believe the guy turned down $ 20 million if they
- 27:36Speaker 1: offered him that. I mean, I don't know.
- 27:39Speaker 11: It'll be interesting to see how this shakes out.
- 27:44Speaker 4: Right.
- 27:44Speaker 1: But who knows? Apparently, he saved the text messages and
- 27:49Speaker 1: this kind of stuff. So who knows? I mean, it'd
- 27:52Speaker 1: be interesting. If it goes to court, I can hardly
- 27:55Speaker 1: wait to tune in and watch.
- 27:57Speaker 11: That'll be good listening.
- 27:59Speaker 1: Yeah, to say the least.
- 28:01Speaker 11: I got to disagree with the pharmacist.
- 28:05Speaker 1: Why is that?
- 28:06Speaker 11: On the D3 athletes.
- 28:09Speaker 3: Really?
- 28:10Speaker 1: Explain, please.
- 28:11Speaker 15: I do.
- 28:12Speaker 11: One, they're more battle-tested than any of the divisions. These
- 28:16Speaker 11: kids have a strong focus on academics. I mean, the
- 28:20Speaker 11: one-on-one development they get from their coaches. I mean, you
- 28:25Speaker 11: can't have a low GPA and compete at that level.
- 28:28Speaker 14: And you're talking..
- 28:30Speaker 11: Top athletes in the country. I mean, only the top 7%
- 28:33Speaker 11: of all athletes make it D3, 2, or 1. And
- 28:36Speaker 11: D1 is, you know, less than 1%, I think.
- 28:40Speaker 19: So these kids have to carry a full..
- 28:45Speaker 11: First of all, to even.
- 28:46Speaker 19: Get in to the D3 school, you can't be a dummy.
- 28:50Speaker 11: I mean, you have to have a high GPA, high
- 28:53Speaker 11: ACT score. So now you have to balance competing at
- 28:58Speaker 11: a high level... And many times they're in tournaments wrestling
- 29:02Speaker 11: against or playing against D1 or D2 athletes. And you
- 29:07Speaker 11: have to get the grades. I would hire a D3
- 29:10Speaker 11: athlete all day over a D1 athlete.
- 29:13Speaker 19: And the reason I say that is I.
- 29:15Speaker 11: Love hiring athletes. Because athletes have grit, determination. They've learned
- 29:21Speaker 11: all those life lessons. I mean, companies spend millions trying
- 29:25Speaker 11: to coach and teach athletes.
- 29:27Speaker 19: The skills that these athletes have to have.
- 29:30Speaker 11: And that's not a soft skill.
- 29:33Speaker 4: I mean, it's.
- 29:34Speaker 11: How they operate every single day. in the workforce.
- 29:38Speaker 19: Companies pay millions to try to teach what these kids.
- 29:41Speaker 11: Already have instilled in them. How to overcome obstacles, how
- 29:46Speaker 11: to persevere, show up on time, you do extra. It
- 29:53Speaker 11: strong work ethic. Mentally, they're physically, it keeps them physically fit.
- 29:58Speaker 11: And the networking in a D3 school will outperform a
- 30:03Speaker 11: D1 any day. The D3 kids have this network and
- 30:07Speaker 11: they are literally, truly brothers. Those coaches go above and beyond.
- 30:11Speaker 11: They will get them a job, find them a job,
- 30:13Speaker 11: help them get a job. They bring in their scholarship.
- 30:16Speaker 11: I mean, they do get some financial gifting. It's nowhere
- 30:21Speaker 11: near And it is expensive as heck. But if you're
- 30:26Speaker 11: fortunate enough that your kid can compete at that level
- 30:29Speaker 11: and you can help pay for some of that, it's
- 30:32Speaker 11: well worth it. I mean, I'm telling you, I think
- 30:36Speaker 11: their success rate, first of all, their college graduation rate
- 30:39Speaker 11: far exceeds a D2 or a D1 athlete. They graduate
- 30:45Speaker 11: at a higher rate.
- 30:47Speaker 1: And you think they're a better person when you hire
- 30:49Speaker 1: people as you do employees. You look for that and
- 30:52Speaker 1: you think they're a better employee because of that training?
- 30:55Speaker 10: They are. Yep, they are.
- 30:57Speaker 11: They're always mentally tougher. They always work through tough challenges.
- 31:02Speaker 19: Anybody who's that competitive, I love it.
- 31:05Speaker 11: They're born to win.
- 31:06Speaker 21: They want to win.
- 31:07Speaker 11: They don't like losing. They always are looking for another
- 31:09Speaker 11: way to rework the problem. And you can't teach that.
- 31:14Speaker 11: You got these kids sitting home like slugs. You get
- 31:16Speaker 11: somebody who's fit, who cares about themselves, the way they
- 31:22Speaker 11: present themselves, has grit. determination, doesn't want to lose. You can't, you, you,
- 31:30Speaker 11: it pays off. It pays off. They make the best employees.
- 31:35Speaker 1: So I hire them all day long. So let me
- 31:37Speaker 1: ask you again with, with your knowledge, how do you
- 31:39Speaker 1: think the economy is right now? How do you assess
- 31:42Speaker 1: the economy?
- 31:43Speaker 11: I would go back to what your caller said yesterday.
- 31:46Speaker 11: I think for those that are, that are in the
- 31:50Speaker 11: middle upper class, it's going well. I think if you're not,
- 31:55Speaker 11: it's rough. But I will say that even people that
- 32:00Speaker 11: are middle, upper class, I have many colleagues. I have
- 32:05Speaker 11: two in particular. One is one of the best employees
- 32:08Speaker 11: who's ever worked for me. In fact, I brought him
- 32:09Speaker 11: every place I've ever worked. He's brilliant. He's so freaking good.
- 32:13Speaker 11: If I had a spot, I'd hire him tomorrow. I
- 32:15Speaker 11: don't have anywhere to put him. He is still looking
- 32:18Speaker 11: for a job. It's been a year, and I don't
- 32:20Speaker 11: even know who possibly in the industry that he's.
- 32:23Speaker 4: In is better than him.
- 32:24Speaker 11: And he still can't get a job right now.
- 32:27Speaker 1: What do you attribute that to? Does that make sense
- 32:29Speaker 1: to you?
- 32:31Speaker 11: Yeah, well, I think companies are not investing in initiatives like.
- 32:39Speaker 10: They were before.
- 32:40Speaker 11: They're not investing back into the company right now. They're
- 32:45Speaker 11: kind of holding tight to make sure that their margins
- 32:49Speaker 11: come out okay. They're not spending. A lot of these
- 32:52Speaker 11: companies are just sitting tight. They're trying to drive more
- 32:55Speaker 11: productivity and less hires to still... A lot of companies
- 33:01Speaker 11: are getting smacked with, and I'll say, tariffs and the
- 33:05Speaker 11: uncertainty of everything that's going on. So the good companies
- 33:09Speaker 11: are going to hold back. The other companies aren't going
- 33:11Speaker 11: to pay attention and they're going to hire people and
- 33:13Speaker 11: then lay them off or get rid of them. Or
- 33:15Speaker 11: you're just going to not replace attrition, right? So a
- 33:18Speaker 11: lot of companies that do have the means, they'll just
- 33:23Speaker 11: slow play a little bit for a And as people
- 33:27Speaker 11: have turned out, they just won't backfill. And you're seeing
- 33:30Speaker 11: that happening, too.
- 33:32Speaker 1: So basically, like they say on Wall Street, uncertainty is
- 33:34Speaker 1: not a good thing. You're saying from your level in
- 33:37Speaker 1: the business world, uncertainty is a bad thing because we
- 33:40Speaker 1: don't know where the war is going or energy prices
- 33:42Speaker 1: are going or consumer confidence is going as a result
- 33:46Speaker 1: of any of this kind of stuff.
- 33:47Speaker 22: Yeah.
- 33:47Speaker 11: I mean, when you have shareholders, you've got to deliver
- 33:50Speaker 11: revenue and margin, both. And if you don't deliver revenue,
- 33:53Speaker 11: you better at least deliver margin. And the only way
- 33:56Speaker 11: you can do that, if you can't deliver the revenue
- 34:00Speaker 11: and you have to deliver the margin, is you have
- 34:02Speaker 11: to cut costs because your revenue is not coming in.
- 34:05Speaker 11: So if you're not cutting costs, your shareholders are going
- 34:08Speaker 11: to kill you. So you have.
- 34:11Speaker 23: To, you have to do that.
- 34:13Speaker 11: And when you don't know what the cost is going
- 34:15Speaker 11: to be, or the cost is higher and you're selling
- 34:18Speaker 11: a product and people aren't buying at the same rate,
- 34:21Speaker 11: your revenue is dropping. Well, if your revenue drops, you
- 34:24Speaker 11: got to got it. You have to deliver the margin.
- 34:26Speaker 11: Margin is King, but, but yeah, I.
- 34:31Speaker 21: Mean, it's, it's, it's tough.
- 34:33Speaker 11: It's tough.
- 34:34Speaker 4: It's tough.
- 34:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I'm just looking at– when I sit
- 34:39Speaker 1: back and when I talk about the economy, I think
- 34:41Speaker 1: it's in a terrible spot right now. And I only
- 34:44Speaker 1: say this. I can't imagine where it would have been
- 34:46Speaker 1: if we would have never got involved in this situation
- 34:48Speaker 1: in Iran. I mean, you had oil prices $ 2. 50 a
- 34:51Speaker 1: gallon and potentially going down. You had inflation going down.
- 34:56Speaker 1: Everything was going in the right direction. Everything. And then
- 34:59Speaker 1: as a result of this situation in Iran, everything is
- 35:02Speaker 1: reversed and gone in the wrong, in the totally opposite
- 35:05Speaker 1: wrong direction. Inflation's back, prices are up, there's the uncertainty
- 35:11Speaker 1: of it, and it continues just to drag on and
- 35:13Speaker 1: on and on. And I don't think anything good is
- 35:16Speaker 1: coming from this situation at all. And I'm an American
- 35:19Speaker 1: first guy. I'm more concerned about what's happening in my
- 35:23Speaker 1: country to everybody's life as far as inflation is concerned.
- 35:27Speaker 1: and potentially what can happen at the midterms as a
- 35:29Speaker 1: result of this choice in going to Iran. Because if
- 35:34Speaker 1: he's not successful in keeping a majority in the midterms,
- 35:37Speaker 1: then the next two years are going to be just
- 35:39Speaker 1: totally meaningless because it's going to be impeachment, it's going
- 35:41Speaker 1: to be all of this ridiculous stuff that's going to
- 35:44Speaker 1: come back, and then he's blowing a great opportunity to
- 35:47Speaker 1: do great things over those two years that could benefit
- 35:50Speaker 1: all of us based on this situation in Iran. A
- 35:53Speaker 1: thousand percent.
- 35:55Speaker 11: I agree a thousand percent.
- 35:56Speaker 10: He better..
- 35:58Speaker 11: I'm praying that he hits it out of the park
- 36:00Speaker 11: here soon, very soon, because every company is getting impacted
- 36:06Speaker 11: by oil prices and the tariffs. And it's hurting. It's hurting.
- 36:19Speaker 11: And you mentioned the other day about the job reports.
- 36:22Speaker 11: I don't even pay attention anymore because they're all garbage.
- 36:25Speaker 7: They're not accurate.
- 36:26Speaker 11: When Biden was in, it was all garbage. And one
- 36:30Speaker 11: of the things you look at is when they say
- 36:32Speaker 11: that the jobs are up and you automatically, well, you
- 36:35Speaker 11: definitely want to look at, are they government jobs? Because
- 36:37Speaker 11: that's just government expansion and them taking more of our money.
- 36:40Speaker 11: Or are they private sector jobs? Well, they're claiming they're
- 36:43Speaker 11: private sector jobs. But I don't buy it anyway just
- 36:45Speaker 11: because of what I'm seeing. I'm seeing highly talented people
- 36:50Speaker 11: struggling to get $ 60, 000 a year jobs when they're used
- 36:53Speaker 11: to making $ 150, 000 a year. And they can't get a
- 36:57Speaker 11: $ 60, 000 a year job right now.
- 36:59Speaker 19: So I don't buy those numbers.
- 37:03Speaker 11: But I would rather have Trump in office than, of course,
- 37:06Speaker 11: what our alternative was. But I think we're going to
- 37:10Speaker 11: be in trouble. We're going to be in trouble in
- 37:13Speaker 11: November if it doesn't turn around. And I'm not saying,
- 37:16Speaker 11: and I know we've talked about it, I'm not saying
- 37:18Speaker 11: that the VEC won't win the state. I'm wondering, though,
- 37:25Speaker 11: but I do think that Ohio is pink. And I
- 37:28Speaker 11: think Mahoning County is blue. I think we're going back
- 37:32Speaker 11: to blue in this county for a lot of reasons.
- 37:36Speaker 1: What would those be? I don't know. I think Mahoney
- 37:40Speaker 1: County has always been a 50-50. Not always been. It's
- 37:44Speaker 1: been a heavily Democrat area. Trump has turned it to
- 37:49Speaker 1: a more Republican area. But I don't think it's... Stand
- 37:53Speaker 1: by for me. It's the boss lady. I want to
- 37:55Speaker 1: talk more about that with her. Take more of your
- 37:57Speaker 1: calls straight ahead. With you tonight till 6, Ron Verb News,
- 37:59Speaker 1: Radio 570, WKVN. Stay close.
- 38:02Speaker 12: Radio 570, WKVN. All right, where's the boss lady, boss lady?
- 38:07Speaker 11: I'm right here.
- 38:08Speaker 1: No, I would say that we've gone red because of Trump.
- 38:14Speaker 1: But it's still got a lot of Democrat support. And
- 38:17Speaker 1: it's basically, if I had to assess Monning County, I
- 38:19Speaker 1: would say it's a 50-50 county at present. Would you agree?
- 38:25Speaker 10: I would.
- 38:26Speaker 11: I would say, yeah, at best, 50-50. I think they
- 38:31Speaker 11: showed us in the primary that they were going to
- 38:34Speaker 11: show up. They showed up at higher rates than they
- 38:38Speaker 11: have before. You look at our county compared to the
- 38:41Speaker 11: other counties in the state, and in our county, every
- 38:44Speaker 11: levy passed. That wasn't the sentiment in the state. A
- 38:47Speaker 11: lot of them failed, all of those levies. You know,
- 38:49Speaker 11: a lot of levies failed.
- 38:50Speaker 1: I go back to say, how many of them were renewals, though?
- 38:53Speaker 1: I mean, renewals, the odds overwhelmingly for passage. New levies,
- 39:00Speaker 1: not so much.
- 39:01Speaker 21: Yeah, I think you look at, though, the age declining population,
- 39:07Speaker 21: government assistance, and you look at the percentage of jobs
- 39:13Speaker 21: in our county that are coming from government.
- 39:16Speaker 11: So they're either government dependent or they're government dependent.
- 39:19Speaker 4: One way or the other.
- 39:19Speaker 11: They're either on assistance or employment, even if it's through
- 39:23Speaker 11: a subcontractor. I think that's hurting us, you know, obviously
- 39:28Speaker 11: with the levies. I think they were big, you know,
- 39:31Speaker 11: some of them were big fans of Trump. And now
- 39:34Speaker 11: you've got the economy that is also struggling.
- 39:39Speaker 21: And I don't know.
- 39:41Speaker 11: They We got to show up in November.
- 39:46Speaker 17: Yep.
- 39:47Speaker 11: And I just, I would not be shocked. I would
- 39:51Speaker 11: not be shocked if the county is blue and the
- 39:55Speaker 11: state squeaks it out.
- 39:58Speaker 10: I wouldn't be shocked at all.
- 40:00Speaker 1: Very interesting. I hope you're wrong on the county.
- 40:03Speaker 11: I hope I'm wrong. I hope I'm dead wrong. And
- 40:08Speaker 11: even if we're right, here's the thing.
- 40:09Speaker 7: Wait a minute.
- 40:10Speaker 1: I got to pause. I got to go. Thank you.
- 40:12Speaker 1: We'll be back.
- 40:18Speaker 3: ABC News, I'm Wayne Cabot. Vice President Vance says a
- 40:21Speaker 3: fund to pay aggrieved Americans would be decided case by case.
- 40:25Speaker 3: And about those who attacked cops at the Capitol, ABC's
- 40:28Speaker 3: Stephen Portnoy.
- 40:28Speaker 20: He did say the administration is not trying to give
- 40:32Speaker 20: money to anybody who attacked a police officer. And he
- 40:35Speaker 20: said that claims would be evaluated on a case by
- 40:37Speaker 20: case basis. He suggested some people who were duly convicted
- 40:41Speaker 20: by juries and sentenced by judges... may have been subject
- 40:44Speaker 20: to kangaroo courts with judges who mistreated them. Broadly, Vance
- 40:48Speaker 20: said the intent is to give money from this $ 1. 8
- 40:51Speaker 20: billion settlement fund to those, in his view, were really mistreated.
- 40:54Speaker 20: He even said Hunter Biden is welcome to apply.
- 40:57Speaker 3: ABC's Alex Stone is in San Diego, where three victims
- 41:00Speaker 3: of a mosque attack are now identified.
- 41:02Speaker 16: One was a manager for 40 years of the bookstore
- 41:05Speaker 16: here at the mosque and was a beloved member of
- 41:09Speaker 16: the staff inside the mosque. Another was a community member who,
- 41:14Speaker 16: according to the Islamic Center of San Diego, played a
- 41:17Speaker 16: major role in getting people away from the gunfire and
- 41:20Speaker 16: so that they were not hit getting them inside. And
- 41:23Speaker 16: then Amin Abdullah, the security guard here, who we understand
- 41:27Speaker 16: from the mosque that the shooters actually came in through
- 41:30Speaker 16: the main gate here, and then Abdullah fired on them,
- 41:35Speaker 16: and there was an exchange of gunfire, and he took
- 41:38Speaker 16: them on.
- 41:38Speaker 3: To Texas, where a senator suffers a setback.
- 41:41Speaker 24: President Trump promised months ago to endorse either incumbent Senator
- 41:44Speaker 24: John Cornyn or challenger Ken Paxton, adding that he would
- 41:47Speaker 24: ask the other to drop out. Well, he's finally made
- 41:50Speaker 24: his choice, throwing his support to Paxton. Cornyn says it'll
- 41:53Speaker 24: take more than just GOP votes to defeat Democrat James
- 41:56Speaker 24: Tallarico in November's general election.
- 41:59Speaker 22: You need independence and the occasional convert from the other party,
- 42:03Speaker 22: and Ken Paxton will get none of those.
- 42:05Speaker 24: Trump, by the way, has not asked Cornyn to end
- 42:07Speaker 24: his re-election campaign yet. Jim Ryan, ABC News, Dallas.
- 42:11Speaker 3: Dow down at the close, 321 points. You're listening to
- 42:15Speaker 3: ABC News.
- 42:18Speaker 7: This report is sponsored by Taking a Walk podcast.
- 42:21Speaker 1: This is kind of like the mentality that you get
- 42:24Speaker 1: from some people. So when I was talking to the
- 42:28Speaker 1: boss lady about taxes and a lot of stuff that
- 42:32Speaker 1: was renewed was renewals, that people voted for renewals, and
- 42:38Speaker 1: myself included. I voted to renew the quarter percent sales
- 42:44Speaker 1: tax for Pat Giannetti's road resurfacing program. Because as I
- 42:50Speaker 1: said it before to you, and as I'll say it
- 42:51Speaker 1: to you again in Mahoning County, there hasn't been a
- 42:54Speaker 1: county engineer that is doing more as far as road
- 42:57Speaker 1: resurfacing than Pat Giannetti. And if you actually looked at
- 43:02Speaker 1: when he pitched that sales tax initially, his funding had
- 43:05Speaker 1: remained pretty much stagnant over many, many, many years because
- 43:09Speaker 1: it would come from license plates and gas tax. So
- 43:14Speaker 1: the money wasn't going up as the costs were going
- 43:17Speaker 1: up to do road resurfacing. So your ability was to
- 43:21Speaker 1: do less and less road miles. And we got a
- 43:23Speaker 1: lot of county roads around here. And not to give
- 43:27Speaker 1: them the attention that they're needed. So when he proposed
- 43:29Speaker 1: this quarter percent sales tax, which you don't even notice...
- 43:32Speaker 1: And it's out there, and the townships get some money
- 43:36Speaker 1: for it. So it's in addition to the township budget.
- 43:40Speaker 1: So you're seeing more roads get resurfaced in your townships,
- 43:43Speaker 1: Boardman and Austintown, and in your community, in Jackson Township.
- 43:48Speaker 1: You see more county roads getting the attention that they
- 43:50Speaker 1: haven't gotten for 25 or 30 years in all the
- 43:54Speaker 1: outlying areas of our county. Because of this $ 10 million
- 43:59Speaker 1: coming in from a quarter percent sales tax, all of
- 44:02Speaker 1: which goes to dealing with road resurfacing and fixing roads
- 44:07Speaker 1: and infrastructure, doesn't go to races and that kind of stuff,
- 44:10Speaker 1: as he said when that was passed. So that's something
- 44:15Speaker 1: that I want to see continue because it makes a
- 44:18Speaker 1: huge difference on the roads that you drive throughout our county.
- 44:23Speaker 1: Can you imagine if oil prices would come down because
- 44:29Speaker 1: asphalt is an oil-based product? So if you can get
- 44:33Speaker 1: oil prices down to where asphalt is less expensive than
- 44:37Speaker 1: it is now, then the amount of road miles you
- 44:40Speaker 1: can pave goes up even more. Unfortunately, oil prices are high,
- 44:45Speaker 1: and asphalt obviously is an oil-based product, so it eats
- 44:49Speaker 1: up more of your $ 10 million to buy the product
- 44:52Speaker 1: to be able to resurface some of these roads. But
- 44:55Speaker 1: if you could bring those prices down, as was happening
- 44:59Speaker 1: before the war, then it means you can pave even
- 45:02Speaker 1: more miles. But any way you slice it, it's a
- 45:06Speaker 1: good thing for Mahoning County that you're not driving on
- 45:08Speaker 1: as many crappy roads. And roads that have been ignored
- 45:11Speaker 1: in the county for years are getting the attention that
- 45:13Speaker 1: they need because the money is there. If oil prices
- 45:17Speaker 1: come down, even more gets done. And your township benefits...
- 45:21Speaker 1: as a result of it as well. Just like when
- 45:24Speaker 1: I voted in Austintown Township, a couple of them were
- 45:27Speaker 1: road renewal levies for your local roads. That's your budget
- 45:32Speaker 1: to fix the roads you drive on every day. That
- 45:38Speaker 1: is a necessity unless you want to replace your shocks
- 45:40Speaker 1: and have giant potholes everywhere. But I've never seen more
- 45:44Speaker 1: attention given to fixing roads than here. you're seeing right
- 45:49Speaker 1: now trying to get as much for a bang for
- 45:51Speaker 1: your buck as you possibly can. And that, and that's
- 45:55Speaker 1: a good thing. Just like when people would renew, will, uh, would, uh, renew, uh,
- 46:00Speaker 1: fire levies and police levies. Well, they want somebody to
- 46:03Speaker 1: show up to put the fire out. If their house
- 46:05Speaker 1: catches on fire or a cop to show up, if
- 46:07Speaker 1: they got a problem, they need somebody to show up.
- 46:10Speaker 1: I mean, there was some, uh, there was some, uh,
- 46:13Speaker 1: New levies have passed off the top.
- 46:15Speaker 5: Of my head.
- 46:16Speaker 1: I can't say in Mahoning or Trumbull counties. Can't think
- 46:19Speaker 1: of them offhand. But in general, people support usually their
- 46:21Speaker 1: police departments because let's be realistic. When I talk about inflation,
- 46:25Speaker 1: inflation affects the government, too. They got to pay more
- 46:28Speaker 1: for police cars and benefits and salaries for cops as
- 46:31Speaker 1: well as fire trucks and trucks. to replace a plow
- 46:36Speaker 1: truck for your county roads, but we all want the
- 46:39Speaker 1: roads plowed. We'd like to have decent roads to drive on.
- 46:42Speaker 1: We want to have the roads plowed. We want a
- 46:44Speaker 1: cop to show up when we call him. And what's
- 46:46Speaker 1: most important to policing, you got to have a police car, obviously,
- 46:49Speaker 1: to get around, and a fire truck. So there's some
- 46:53Speaker 1: things like when they were renewals, people voted for them
- 46:56Speaker 1: because they were a renewal that made perfect sense. It
- 46:59Speaker 1: was in your best interest. To say, okay, that's my money,
- 47:04Speaker 1: but I can see the direct benefits from that. So
- 47:09Speaker 1: that's something I'll stick with. Unlike, as I say, the
- 47:12Speaker 1: property tax of the library, which I never vote for.
- 47:15Speaker 1: I never vote for it. I never voted for the
- 47:18Speaker 1: forever tax for WRTA, which was a sales tax. I
- 47:21Speaker 1: never voted for that. I never voted for the senior levy.
- 47:24Speaker 1: I don't vote to renew the senior levy. I never
- 47:26Speaker 1: voted for it when it first came out. I don't
- 47:29Speaker 1: vote for the library levy. Never have, never will. I
- 47:34Speaker 1: never voted for the sales tax for WRTA. It's a
- 47:37Speaker 1: forever levy, so I never get a chance to vote
- 47:40Speaker 1: against it again because it's there forever. But there are
- 47:46Speaker 1: ones that when you see that have a direct benefit
- 47:50Speaker 1: for you, that's a different story. So I'm not going
- 47:54Speaker 1: to cut my own throat in that sense. That doesn't
- 47:59Speaker 1: make a lick of sense to me to do something
- 48:01Speaker 1: like that. I'm not going to do that. Now, do
- 48:05Speaker 1: I think we have a problem with property taxes? Obviously.
- 48:10Speaker 1: And I've said that. And I'll continue to say that.
- 48:15Speaker 1: But the problem is people keep thinking it's... there is
- 48:19Speaker 1: no longer personal responsibility that somehow it's the government's responsibility
- 48:23Speaker 1: to take care of everybody and their problems. It's now
- 48:25Speaker 1: the government's responsibility to take care of every senior citizen
- 48:29Speaker 1: or pay somebody to the taxpayers, pay somebody to mow
- 48:31Speaker 1: your lawn or pay somebody to clean your house. This
- 48:34Speaker 1: is ridiculous. I mean, and to vote for this kind
- 48:40Speaker 1: of stuff is stupid and yet people do it. And
- 48:44Speaker 1: then they sit around saying, well, what's going on here?
- 48:47Speaker 1: I mean, it has to be some degree of personal responsibility.
- 48:50Speaker 1: There has to be success and failure in capitalism. Your
- 48:53Speaker 1: problems shouldn't be my problems. And my problems shouldn't be
- 48:57Speaker 1: your problems. The decisions you make in life, there has
- 49:02Speaker 1: to be some degree of ramifications to them. And you
- 49:09Speaker 1: just take it from there. That's why I talk about
- 49:13Speaker 1: it so much, because I sincerely am concerned about the
- 49:16Speaker 1: burden that this is putting on senior citizens as well
- 49:19Speaker 1: as young people. people trying to buy homes. It is
- 49:22Speaker 1: too much of an additional burden in addition to the payments,
- 49:27Speaker 1: the tax burden that's there, and how much of that
- 49:29Speaker 1: money is being literally pissed away. You can't take care
- 49:35Speaker 1: of everybody. That isn't the role of local governments. But
- 49:39Speaker 1: you can see the philosophy of your local governments, as
- 49:41Speaker 1: I point out, with commissioners that say, despite the huge
- 49:44Speaker 1: increase we got in the reappraisals, we can't give a
- 49:47Speaker 1: small portion of it back to the people who we
- 49:49Speaker 1: claimed we knew were suffering as a result of it.
- 49:52Speaker 1: And we were given the power by Dave Thomas to
- 49:54Speaker 1: ease that pain, but we're not going to do any
- 49:56Speaker 1: of that. So that's what I'm talking. It's just cheap
- 50:00Speaker 1: political talk by them because there's no way they can
- 50:03Speaker 1: ease a little bit of that pain with people. So
- 50:05Speaker 1: there you have it. 414 in the afternoon. You're on
- 50:08Speaker 1: the air.
- 50:09Speaker 22: Hey, Ron, I'd like to ask you a favor.
- 50:12Speaker 5: What do you need, sir?
- 50:13Speaker 1: You need money?
- 50:15Speaker 22: Yeah, can you loan me $ 2 billion? I want to
- 50:20Speaker 22: open an account with Warren Buffett so I can attend
- 50:23Speaker 22: a board meeting. Because I want to ask him, if
- 50:29Speaker 22: inflation has hit a three-year high, how come a lot
- 50:33Speaker 22: of my commodity stocks are still going down? Commodities are
- 50:37Speaker 22: a hedge against inflation.
- 50:39Speaker 1: I don't know. You'd have to ask him. All I
- 50:41Speaker 1: can tell you is there's a lot of inflation out there.
- 50:43Speaker 1: I live it every day. And I'm sure you do, too.
- 50:48Speaker 22: Well, I'm going by memory, but one of the financial
- 50:52Speaker 22: headlines yesterday was a CEO of a larger bank said
- 51:01Speaker 22: he's firing thousands of workers because he's He considers them
- 51:07Speaker 22: to be low-value capital, and he's going to replace them.
- 51:13Speaker 22: with investments in AI technology.
- 51:16Speaker 1: There is, I think that's a coming problem though for Lauderdale, Frank.
- 51:21Speaker 1: I mean, I just, when people are talking about this,
- 51:24Speaker 1: what was it? You follow this meta or Facebook got
- 51:27Speaker 1: rid of nine, 10,000 people replaced by AI. And now
- 51:30Speaker 1: you're saying that you're going to see this at whatever
- 51:32Speaker 1: that bank or institution you're talking about. I think it's
- 51:36Speaker 1: a tip of the iceberg. Don't you?
- 51:39Speaker 22: Yeah, I sure do. And, um, You know, Ron Paul,
- 51:45Speaker 22: I'm going to read you his latest article because I
- 51:48Speaker 22: think it's worth knowing. He said there's a worldwide surge
- 51:56Speaker 22: in interest rates paid by government bonds all over the world.
- 52:02Speaker 22: I think that's because a lot of people are scared
- 52:05Speaker 22: of this war and they're keeping their money in the
- 52:09Speaker 22: bank and the only way to get them to buy
- 52:12Speaker 22: government bonds because so many governments are deep in debt.
- 52:17Speaker 22: And with this war and a possible global depression, the
- 52:23Speaker 22: only way you can get people to buy government bonds
- 52:26Speaker 22: is to raise the interest rates.
- 52:28Speaker 1: Yeah, and in other words, how you get interest in it.
- 52:31Speaker 1: I think Rich, a pharmacist, I thought he summed it
- 52:35Speaker 1: up pretty good. If I bounce this off of you,
- 52:38Speaker 1: it's a quagmire. I mean, I think that is where
- 52:42Speaker 1: we are at the present time. Listen, I go back
- 52:46Speaker 1: to say this. Have you noticed if you criticize anything
- 52:49Speaker 1: Trump does that you got these people that think unless
- 52:53Speaker 1: you agree with everything Trump does— then you're bad news
- 52:57Speaker 1: for some reason. I mean, you can't disagree with Trump
- 53:01Speaker 1: on anything. You've got to be like have blinders on.
- 53:04Speaker 1: The same stuff I bitched when you had Biden supporters
- 53:06Speaker 1: who did the same thing. It didn't matter what was
- 53:09Speaker 1: reality or anything. They supported Biden. And I thought, how
- 53:12Speaker 1: can you be that out of touch with stuff? Well,
- 53:16Speaker 1: you got a lot of people on the Republican side
- 53:18Speaker 1: that are doing the same thing. And when I say
- 53:21Speaker 1: I say that because I say I don't think that
- 53:23Speaker 1: this war was a good idea from the very beginning.
- 53:26Speaker 1: I mean, if I said to you, Frank, I wasn't
- 53:29Speaker 1: staying up at night worried about Iran and a nuclear weapon.
- 53:33Speaker 1: I wasn't up at night. It wasn't really discussed anywhere
- 53:36Speaker 1: on any regular basis that this was a big threat. Well,
- 53:40Speaker 1: I mean, we dropped the bunker buster. That was the
- 53:42Speaker 1: end of it. All this stuff is buried underground and
- 53:45Speaker 1: mission accomplished and this kind of stuff. OK, that was
- 53:48Speaker 1: a bunker buster. So I still say we got into
- 53:54Speaker 1: this because of Netanyahu. I really think that's why he
- 53:57Speaker 1: reversed himself. I mean, I am genuinely troubled by his
- 54:02Speaker 1: reversal on the Epstein files, by his reversal on his
- 54:07Speaker 1: stand in the Middle East when it comes to this
- 54:10Speaker 1: war situation. But what's happening, by his not giving attention
- 54:16Speaker 1: to getting people who are in this country out of
- 54:18Speaker 1: this country that are here illegally, that seems to be
- 54:20Speaker 1: totally vanished off the radar screen at any level of
- 54:25Speaker 1: notoriety and the affordability issue. So I think he's in
- 54:30Speaker 1: a hell of a spot right now. Don't you?
- 54:35Speaker 22: Yes, and I'm glad you keep saying that because I
- 54:39Speaker 22: was the one that originally pointed out that Margie Taylor
- 54:43Speaker 22: Greene was one of his first supporters. She was MAGA
- 54:48Speaker 22: all the way. As soon as she started criticizing Israel
- 54:53Speaker 22: and saying, hey, keep the money at home, people in Georgia.
- 54:57Speaker 22: I say, why are we giving all this money to
- 55:00Speaker 22: Israel when people at home need help? And I also
- 55:04Speaker 22: pointed out that Thomas Massey, the AIPAC in the Israel lobby,
- 55:12Speaker 22: They pledged to spend unlimited amounts of money, whatever it took,
- 55:19Speaker 22: to unseat Massey.
- 55:23Speaker 1: I was reading today it might be the most expensive
- 55:25Speaker 1: congressional race ever. And here's what troubles me about it.
- 55:30Speaker 1: I agree with Massey. When people say about foreign aid,
- 55:34Speaker 1: Massey's opposed to foreign aid, period.
- 55:37Speaker 4: Period.
- 55:38Speaker 1: Not just Israel. He's opposed to foreign aid to Israel, Egypt, everywhere.
- 55:42Speaker 1: His argument is, we're $ 40 trillion in debt. We can't
- 55:46Speaker 1: afford any of this foreign aid. We should stop it
- 55:49Speaker 1: all and take care of America first. You know as
- 55:52Speaker 1: well as I do, we're talking about a situation, the
- 55:56Speaker 1: financial issues with Social Security and Medicare. When are we
- 56:01Speaker 1: going to address the concerns in our own country with
- 56:04Speaker 1: our own American people? This is the argument that the
- 56:06Speaker 1: Masseys and Margie Taylor Greene are making. What are we
- 56:10Speaker 1: giving billions of dollars away to all of these countries
- 56:14Speaker 1: when we can't afford to do it? So he's against
- 56:16Speaker 1: foreign aid. So right away, he's pinpointed as a result
- 56:21Speaker 1: of that to say, okay, he's got to go. I don't... And,
- 56:26Speaker 1: of course, he's opposed to how the Epstein files are
- 56:30Speaker 1: being handled, as was Marjorie Taylor Greene. And, as you said,
- 56:34Speaker 1: these are some of his best supporters. And he's turned
- 56:37Speaker 1: on them all of a sudden.
- 56:39Speaker 22: Well, you know, I said last year, I said, Ron,
- 56:44Speaker 22: Massey votes for the Republicans 97% of the time. About
- 56:50Speaker 22: the only time he doesn't vote with the Republicans is
- 56:53Speaker 22: foreign aid or uh... aid to israel or given weapons
- 56:56Speaker 22: of israel so you'd better go on cedar a guy
- 57:00Speaker 22: that votes for republicans ninety seven percent of the time
- 57:05Speaker 22: what is trump in the republican party doing but you
- 57:09Speaker 22: know what the the democrats You know what?
- 57:14Speaker 1: Now, see, Ted the Conservative says Massey only votes with
- 57:17Speaker 1: Republicans 75% of the time.
- 57:19Speaker 12: But... All right.
- 57:27Speaker 1: Back to it.
- 57:28Speaker 3: News Radio 570 WKBN. Where is Fort Lauderdale, Frank?
- 57:32Speaker 4: Frank? Not him.
- 57:36Speaker 1: All right, Frank?
- 57:38Speaker 4: Yeah, Ron..
- 57:40Speaker 22: Even though inflation hit a three-year high at 3.8%, American wages,
- 57:48Speaker 22: they have increased on average 3.6%. So they're still falling
- 57:55Speaker 22: behind the cost of living.
- 57:57Speaker 1: Here's an email for you. Tell Frank, who is supposedly
- 58:01Speaker 1: such a financial guru, that If he would just read
- 58:04Speaker 1: today's Wall Street Journal, he would quickly discover the reason
- 58:07Speaker 1: treasury yields are up is because foreign government, specifically Japan
- 58:12Speaker 1: and China, are selling the treasuries they hold to defend
- 58:16Speaker 1: their currencies, which have weakened as the dollar has strengthened
- 58:21Speaker 1: during this war, because they are selling them. The price
- 58:24Speaker 1: of the treasuries is going down, which causes the yield
- 58:27Speaker 1: on the treasuries to go up. I don't, okay, but
- 58:34Speaker 1: that's the bottom line.
- 58:36Speaker 22: Well, you tell this emailer that I read the Wall
- 58:39Speaker 22: Street Journal and other publications, and I said that the
- 58:45Speaker 22: Chinese government is told their big banks do not buy
- 58:51Speaker 22: any more treasury debt. So he needs to know that.
- 58:55Speaker 22: I'm well informed of what's going on in the global
- 58:59Speaker 22: bond market, and that's correct. When interest rates go up,
- 59:05Speaker 22: the price of bonds go down, but you also... tell
- 59:10Speaker 22: this e-mailer that most people buy bonds to hold to maturity.
- 59:16Speaker 22: They're not going to sell them before maturity. Now, also,
- 59:23Speaker 22: as far as the Democrat Party, Ron, the Democrat Party
- 59:27Speaker 22: has like 14... $ 1. 9 million in cash, but they owe,
- 59:34Speaker 22: from the Kamala Harris campaign, something like $ 17 million. So
- 59:41Speaker 22: the net amount, they're in debt. And a lot of
- 59:43Speaker 22: big Democrat donors to the party have been polled. And
- 59:50Speaker 22: they said, look, we're not going to contribute money to
- 59:53Speaker 22: the Democrat Party just to get them out of debt.
- 59:58Speaker 22: And I think the Democrat Party is on the way
- 1:00:01Speaker 22: of the dodo bird. All these people that are worried
- 1:00:08Speaker 22: about the Republicans in the midterm, it takes a ton
- 1:00:12Speaker 22: of money to run political campaigns, and the Republicans are
- 1:00:17Speaker 22: sitting on a.
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: Ton of money. Okay, go out on a limb. Do
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: you think Massey will survive today or not?
- 1:00:24Speaker 22: Well, I sure hope so, but I tell you what,
- 1:00:28Speaker 22: if he can survive, that's going to send a strong
- 1:00:31Speaker 22: message out to the it's going to require trillions of dollars.
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: I support it. I'm totally opposed to foreign aid. I'm totally,
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: I completely, I agree with him. And listen, I don't think..
- 1:00:45Speaker 22: Ron, most foreign aid, first of all, Israel's the biggest recipient.
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: I'm just against any of it.
- 1:00:50Speaker 22: It's supposed to be for starving countries, right?
- 1:00:54Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: I'm just opposed to it. I appreciate it. Thank you, Frank.
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: Back with more in a minute. Ron Furp from the
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: Kingdom by Estella's Pharma.
- 1:00:59Speaker 12: News Radio 570 WKVN.
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: Back to it. News Radio 570 WKVN. And Ron Furman,
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: you're on the air. Hello there.
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: Ronald.
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, Ted the Conservative.
- 1:01:11Speaker 4: You know, I was calling in the conversation. And now
- 1:01:14Speaker 4: I've got a comment on a few of your calls. First,
- 1:01:18Speaker 4: I strongly disagree with Rich the pharmacist. I think the
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: experiences gained by a student athlete better prepare him for
- 1:01:28Speaker 4: the real world him or her better prepare them for
- 1:01:31Speaker 4: the real world than any student that's not involved in
- 1:01:36Speaker 4: extracurricular activities on a competition level of being an athlete.
- 1:01:43Speaker 4: I mean, those kids from the rigid scheduling, they have
- 1:01:47Speaker 4: to prioritize under exhaustion. They learn to work as a team.
- 1:01:52Speaker 4: They learn to objectively take criticism. They learn to critically
- 1:01:56Speaker 4: think like a snap of a finger. Um, they learn
- 1:02:00Speaker 4: how to tolerate pain, discomfort, you know, thresholds that the
- 1:02:04Speaker 4: average guy doesn't like to deal with. They're accountable, strict accountability. Um, they,
- 1:02:11Speaker 4: they share a collective consequence with the team. In other words,
- 1:02:15Speaker 4: for that team to be successful, every 22 guys on
- 1:02:18Speaker 4: that football field have got to work together as one.
- 1:02:21Speaker 4: So there's just so many things that kids learn. Um,
- 1:02:25Speaker 4: I don't agree with a lot of Richard's positions, uh,
- 1:02:29Speaker 4: when it comes to post-secondary education, I don't know. I
- 1:02:34Speaker 4: think he thinks kids should just go sit in the classroom,
- 1:02:36Speaker 4: get an education and leave. I think universities, I think
- 1:02:39Speaker 4: there's a big difference in university, whether it's Ivy league
- 1:02:42Speaker 4: schools or the young South state universities of the world, uh,
- 1:02:46Speaker 4: schools that specialize in engineering, those schools.
- 1:02:48Speaker 10: The same.
- 1:02:49Speaker 4: Um, I just disagree with them on everything. So, um,
- 1:02:53Speaker 4: JJ smoke a little bit more weed before you call
- 1:02:56Speaker 4: on would be my next suggestion. Um, I don't know
- 1:03:00Speaker 4: what he was getting at with that whole ballroom thing. Like,
- 1:03:03Speaker 4: none of it made sense. I don't know how that
- 1:03:05Speaker 4: compared to him putting a pool in his backyard and
- 1:03:09Speaker 4: selling his house and not recouping the funds invested.
- 1:03:12Speaker 10: In the pool.
- 1:03:13Speaker 4: This is a ballroom that is the people's ballroom that
- 1:03:15Speaker 4: will be used for decades and decades to come. I mean,
- 1:03:20Speaker 4: I don't even know offhand how many renovations have been
- 1:03:23Speaker 4: done to the White House. But, you know, the building
- 1:03:26Speaker 4: has been renovated I would feel safe to say dozens
- 1:03:31Speaker 4: of times. I don't think J.J. complained when the Biden
- 1:03:36Speaker 4: team basically put a studio in there with a huge teleprompter.
- 1:03:42Speaker 4: So we thought Biden was sitting in the Oval Office.
- 1:03:45Speaker 4: He was sitting in a make-believe room with a monitor
- 1:03:49Speaker 4: the size of a wall that he could read and
- 1:03:52Speaker 4: act like he had a pulse. So, so many, just
- 1:03:55Speaker 4: so many crazy things. And then, Frank... There's Fasten and
- 1:03:58Speaker 4: there's Frank. You know, your one caller shot him down immediately.
- 1:04:02Speaker 4: You've heard one guy take his investment advice and lost, what,
- 1:04:07Speaker 4: $ 30, 000 or something like that. Now he says Tom Matthews
- 1:04:11Speaker 4: votes 97% of the time with Republicans. That's just false.
- 1:04:15Speaker 4: All you need is a computer, and you can get
- 1:04:18Speaker 4: on there. You don't even have to strategize, as Ron
- 1:04:21Speaker 4: Rubin would say. You just go into your favorite AI app,
- 1:04:26Speaker 4: and ask the simple questions, and it gives you a
- 1:04:29Speaker 4: simple answer. Tom Massey votes against Republicans 23% of the time.
- 1:04:37Speaker 4: That means he votes only 70, what, 77% of the
- 1:04:42Speaker 4: time for the party. Now, we think that the guy
- 1:04:47Speaker 4: next door in Pennsylvania does a great job. He only
- 1:04:50Speaker 4: votes with Republicans 1% or 2% of the time. So
- 1:04:53Speaker 4: think about that. OK, put that into perspective. Massey voted
- 1:04:58Speaker 4: against the one big, beautiful bill. What's your what's your
- 1:05:02Speaker 4: response to that, Ronald?
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: Well, AI tells you what he voted.
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: It didn't tell you why he voted against it or
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: what he did, what he disagreed with. in the bill. So,
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: I mean, no, no, no.
- 1:05:15Speaker 4: You've been a champion of the big, beautiful bill. Have
- 1:05:17Speaker 4: you not?
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: No, stand by. It doesn't, to fully understand why somebody
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: voted the way they voted, you would have to ask
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: them why specifically did you do that? I do not
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: fall into the category. And I, and I think, and,
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: and it, it's of concern to me that I think
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: to a certain extent, you're, you're either with Trump or
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: you're against Trump. And I say this to you. I
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: don't go down that road. I question people who were
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: like that with Joe Biden, who refused to analytically look
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: at him or his deficiencies, and they totally didn't acknowledge
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: any of it because they were with Biden 100% because
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: they were good Democrats. And they voted that way, and
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: they hit all this stuff with Biden. Well, I don't
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: like that with Democrats any more than I like it
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: with Republicans. I think dissent within a party is not
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: a bad thing. I mean, I am deeply concerned, and
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: I just share this with you once again. I'm deeply
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: concerned with the attacks on people who supported Trump, who
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: had him on the stage, and because they disagree with
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: him on some issues. And believe me, there is plenty
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: to disagree with on the Iran situation. We should never
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: be a party or a country of people that walk
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: in lockstep and say, whatever this guy says, I'm 100% for.
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: Because I don't know if Trump is compromised. I don't
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: know why he did what he did. Is it worth
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: a discussion about it? I mean, there's some things that
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: I sit back and wonder. I don't know anything more
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: about the shooters that try to shoot Trump with him
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: as president. I don't know anything more about him than
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: I did before he was president. And so a lot
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: of the stuff that he said he was going to
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: do that I should know more about is as a citizen,
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: which I agree. I think the government hides way too
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: much from us. Where is it? So so I can
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: sit here and I can. But I'm just saying I
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: can be critical of Trump. And I can sit here
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: and say, I mean, to a large extent, the more
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: I would read and read about this stuff, it seems
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: to me that Trump did a 180 on this because
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: of Netanyahu and because of Israel. And I think that's
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: why he got into this. And I sincerely believe that
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: he thought this would be over much sooner than it is.
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: And it's not over. And the signs don't show that
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: it's going to be over anytime soon. Well, how long
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: do you stay with this? You know, quagmire is where
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: it says, is it in that type of situation? How
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: much more ignoring this... The American first agenda or everybody saying,
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: I don't care what gas prices are or inflation is.
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: Most people didn't worry about Iran and a nuclear weapon
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: before they were sold this, I guess, on Fox or
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: sold it by what this mission taking place. I wasn't
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: up at night worrying about it. I wasn't concerned about it.
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: We dropped the bunker buster. That was it. Everything's taken
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: care of. We bombed the living hell out of them,
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: and everything's compromised now. So at what point do you
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: declare somewhat of a victory? We set them back. They're
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: not launching a bunch of stuff. At what point do
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: you say, I think we made the point? At what
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: point do you just stay another year? Another six months?
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: Do you let gas oil prices go up? If you
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: actually read some of this stuff, they're talking about an
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: oil shortage. Even if this thing ends of getting oil moving,
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: an actual oil shortage of lubricants, oil and lubricants. I mean,
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: if you read some of this stuff, and we're talking
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: not just in the United States, but globally, it's of concern.
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: I mean, I don't want to destroy the American economy
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: with inflation and high gas prices and all this other
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: bull crap as a result of this situation in Iran.
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: We're not getting a lot of people out of this
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: country like he ran on. People wanted these people out
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: of the country. Let me just lay this on you
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: and get your reaction. I think the Democrats won in Minnesota.
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: You know, they made their point after those shootings, and
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: they won. And I'm going to give you this analysis,
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: and I want to hear from Ted the conservative. So
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: all of you just kind of have to bear with this,
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: because I'm interested in what Ted has to say about this.
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: I say to all of you, the Democrats won by
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: destroying the Doge movement. Let me put it that way.
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: They destroyed Elon Musk. They went out there, all the
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: stuff he was exposing, but they went out and they
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: launched an attack against him. He's a Nazi. They launched
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: an attack against his dealerships with violence. They launched an
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: attack against people who drove the cars by scratching them.
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: They did all of this crap, which is despicable to me.
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: Absolutely despicable. But when the dust settled, Doge was out.
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: So I sit back and say, well, they won. Elon
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: Musk is gone. Doge is gone. The waste is continuing on.
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: No one's going to do a damn thing about it.
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: They say J.D. Vance will. Well, I'll wait and see
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: what happens. And then I sit back and say, well,
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: where are these people? So that's number one. So I
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: think the Democrats won there in defeating Doge.
- 1:10:37Speaker 4: And I think..
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: No, I'm going to let you just keep track of
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: it for me. Just keep it in your mind. Number two,
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: I think..
- 1:10:49Speaker 4: I'll try to remember.
- 1:10:51Speaker 22: Okay.
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: Could be harder this morning. Now you're just screwing with me.
- 1:10:57Speaker 4: No, I'm being serious.
- 1:11:00Speaker 14: Go ahead.
- 1:11:00Speaker 4: I'm listening.
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: Minnesota, they won by getting– they got rid of the
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: border guy. They got rid of the Barbie doll that
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: was running ice. They got all these people out. And
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: all of a sudden when they were out, ice left.
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: Nothing more there. And you're not seeing any of these
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: big deportations going on anywhere in the country. It's just
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: like it disappeared. It's like it was like, wow, we
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: took a lot of political pressure and heat. And it's
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: kind of like mediocre now. So I think they've won
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: on that. I don't think he's doing the deportations like
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: people voted for him to do on any good high
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: level of getting people out of here because of the controversy.
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: So Doge is gone. That's gone. He didn't release the
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: Epstein files like he said. That's gone. He reversed himself
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: on the war to a certain extent. And sometimes I'm
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: going to tell you, I do sit back and wonder
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: in my own head. I'm just leveling with you to
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: get your reaction to all of this. If they don't
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: have something on him. Who is they? And when I
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: say they, Netanyahu. Do they have something on this guy
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: that he could so reverse his own agenda and his
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: own priorities of the things he thought was most important
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: that he stood for, that he got elected on, that
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: he reversed them so dramatically?
- 1:12:28Speaker 4: I'll tell you why Democrats are winning the narrative in Minnesota,
- 1:12:33Speaker 4: on Israel, and everywhere else. Very simple. They are dividing
- 1:12:38Speaker 4: the Republican Party. They're bringing up divisive issues, and they're
- 1:12:42Speaker 4: inserting them, and that's what they're using.
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: Wait, wait, wait, just going to interrupt one thing. Are
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: they dividing the Republican Party, or is Trump dividing the
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: Republican Party?
- 1:12:54Speaker 4: No, no, no. And here's, I'm going to use the analogy.
- 1:12:57Speaker 4: Outside sources, Democrats are dividing the party so they can win,
- 1:13:01Speaker 4: and they're very, very good at it. We've talked about
- 1:13:05Speaker 4: this in the past, how Nancy Pelosi would march through
- 1:13:08Speaker 4: that agenda of theirs, never be dissent. It would come
- 1:13:13Speaker 4: out to the public floor and it would get done. Now,
- 1:13:17Speaker 4: you've got me jumping all over the place here, but
- 1:13:19Speaker 4: let me back up first to Massey. Now, I could
- 1:13:22Speaker 4: be wrong, but I thought Ron Verb was a champion
- 1:13:24Speaker 4: of the big, beautiful bill. I've heard you many, many
- 1:13:27Speaker 4: times talk about the great things it's done.
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: But there are also many people, and I can't get
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: them off the top of my head, there were many
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: things in that bill that a lot of people didn't like.
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: I mean, there are some things..
- 1:13:38Speaker 4: I would think it's that 99% approval rate from Republicans.
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: No, Republicans too. I mean, there are some things that
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: I support, but I do wonder about some stuff. Why
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: is everything just for three years? No tax on tip. Well,
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: that ends in three years.
- 1:13:53Speaker 4: That's a legislative matter.
- 1:13:55Speaker 5: I understand.
- 1:13:55Speaker 4: Because of the Tom Massies of the world, that's why.
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: No, it's not the Tom Massies of the world.
- 1:14:01Speaker 4: You need so many votes to get these things done.
- 1:14:04Speaker 4: passed legislatively different ways.
- 1:14:07Speaker 18: All right, so let me back up. It's not the
- 1:14:11Speaker 18: Tom Massey's of the world. It's the Republican Party itself.
- 1:14:16Speaker 18: It's not taking a lot of these executive orders and
- 1:14:18Speaker 18: made them into law.
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: The Republican Party..
- 1:14:22Speaker 7: No, no.
- 1:14:23Speaker 18: I'm going to.
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: Say to you, if you take a look at the
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: amount of money being spent to defeat Tom Massey and
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: where it's coming from... Because he doesn't support foreign aid.
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: And where that money's coming from to get him out
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: of there.
- 1:14:39Speaker 4: Okay, where's Tom Massey getting his money? What about the
- 1:14:42Speaker 4: Iranian billionaire that's funneling money to him and to Marjorie
- 1:14:46Speaker 4: Taylor Greene?
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: I don't know. First of all, a lot of the
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: stuff they've launched.
- 1:14:52Speaker 4: Do you have a Google machine?
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: Yeah, they launched campaigns against Massey. and his relationships and
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: Marjorie Taylor Greene and all this kind of to discredit them. But,
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: you know, you're sitting back and I'm saying, with all
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: of this, Marjorie Taylor Greene was helping Trump get elected
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: and was there all along.
- 1:15:07Speaker 4: Agreed.
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: Until he turned on her.
- 1:15:08Speaker 4: Agreed completely.
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: Okay, by God, no, no, wait a minute. If you
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: agree with that completely, if you agree with that completely,
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: he attacked her. And I don't support that. On a
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: personal level, he did that. He attacked Tucker Carlson. He
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: attacked Margie Taylor Greene. He attacked... All of a sudden,
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: these people are low IQ. Were they low IQ when
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: they were standing there when he.
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: Needed their help to get reelected?
- 1:15:31Speaker 4: That's because he's a narcissist, Ron. You have to agree
- 1:15:33Speaker 4: with him 100% of the time, or you're no good
- 1:15:36Speaker 4: in his world.
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: And that is where he is with Tom Massey on
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: that kind of stuff. Listen, I don't necessarily, I don't
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: know anybody that I agree with 100% on anything. But
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: I will say this.
- 1:15:47Speaker 4: Well, you've got to agree with your wife, or you're
- 1:15:49Speaker 4: going to be in trouble.
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: No, I don't agree with that.
- 1:15:51Speaker 4: If you don't agree, you have to agree.
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: I don't agree with everybody on 100% of everything. But
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: by God, if you agree in general, in general, like
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: I said, I would never vote for a Democrat. I
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: can disagree with Trump on these particular items.
- 1:16:04Speaker 4: Let me finish because I'm going to lose my train
- 1:16:06Speaker 4: of thought. You asked me another question.
- 1:16:08Speaker 10: I did.
- 1:16:09Speaker 4: Why the dissent?
- 1:16:10Speaker 10: I know.
- 1:16:10Speaker 4: You got me. I'm not Denny from Rock Creek. I'm
- 1:16:13Speaker 4: not keeping notes over here. I'm working in the kitchen
- 1:16:15Speaker 4: and you got me stressed out.
- 1:16:20Speaker 25: Division.
- 1:16:20Speaker 4: So we made an analogy. I gave you an analogy
- 1:16:23Speaker 4: of a football team and how they operate as one
- 1:16:27Speaker 4: unit and how those kids bring a special characteristic out
- 1:16:30Speaker 4: of college. A political party is no different than a football.
- 1:16:34Speaker 4: You practice all week, okay? And you have a game Friday, Saturday, Sunday,
- 1:16:39Speaker 4: whatever your team plays. Well, you're practicing all week. There's
- 1:16:43Speaker 4: a lot of disagreement. That disagreement stays within the team.
- 1:16:47Speaker 4: Fights amongst each other stays within the team. But guess what?
- 1:16:50Speaker 4: On game day, when it's time to perform, they come
- 1:16:53Speaker 4: out as one solid unit. And we're not seeing that
- 1:16:57Speaker 4: in the Republican Party. The Democrats do it outstandingly. job
- 1:17:01Speaker 4: of that. They say they are united, and you would
- 1:17:04Speaker 4: never know that they have disagreements in the back room.
- 1:17:07Speaker 4: Nancy Pelosi ran that gavel like a well-oiled machine. Republicans,
- 1:17:12Speaker 4: too many egos involved, and that's what kills an athletic team.
- 1:17:16Speaker 4: And you can use this analogy on anything in life,
- 1:17:18Speaker 4: any organization. You can break it down to sports.
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: Let me ask you a question as you're going along.
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: I think too many Republicans... are just as bad as
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: career Democrats. I don't know that they sign on to
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: this stuff. I mean, I think it's a fair question
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: when Massey says, we can't afford foreign aid anywhere, including Israel, Egypt,
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: everywhere else. And he's right. When do we put America..
- 1:17:44Speaker 7: We are.
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: Facing a serious issue with Social Security and Medicare.
- 1:17:49Speaker 4: I don't know what Mas... I think Massey's a libertarian.
- 1:17:52Speaker 4: I think his issue... He's not a real Republican. I
- 1:17:55Speaker 4: think his libertarian... and he votes and he's registered as
- 1:17:57Speaker 4: a Republican to get elected. If he ran as a Libertarian,
- 1:18:00Speaker 4: he would never be elected. He is against, he's kind
- 1:18:03Speaker 4: of like a Rand Paul.
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: Stand by, stand by, stand by. Back with Ted the
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: Conservative in a minute. News Radio 570, WKBN, stay close.
- 1:18:11Speaker 12: News Radio 570, WKBN. All right, I'm supposed to read
- 1:18:15Speaker 12: this to you, okay?
- 1:18:17Speaker 5: Oh boy.
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: For Ted the Conservative, no. According to AI Answer that
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: I founds, Frank and Ted are both wrong on Massey's
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: voting record. 80% to 90% is what I found. Massey
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: voting against the Big Beautiful Bill was smart because so
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: much of the bill was an extension of Biden's insane spending.
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: That's what he wanted me to pass along to you.
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: That's why he voted against the Big Beautiful Bill. And
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: I think there were others.
- 1:18:43Speaker 4: I'm not sure what your source is, but I'm going
- 1:18:45Speaker 4: to pull up mine right now.
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: I'm just reading you what the guy said from his AI.
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: His AI against your AI, I would say that. But
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: let me back up. Let me back up. Okay, you
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: back up.
- 1:18:57Speaker 4: Let me ask a great wrong word, because you got
- 1:19:00Speaker 4: me confused. You pulled a Donald Trump on me. You
- 1:19:03Speaker 4: hit me with so many things. I feel like a Democrat.
- 1:19:06Speaker 4: I don't know how to respond and what to respond to.
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: Well, and you've got a leg problem, too, so yeah.
- 1:19:12Speaker 4: So most of the time, these AI things will give
- 1:19:15Speaker 4: you the resources. The Kentucky Lantern is one of the resources.
- 1:19:21Speaker 4: These are local papers. The Kentucky Lantern that has come
- 1:19:24Speaker 4: up with his voting record. So I stand by the
- 1:19:27Speaker 4: information I'm looking at. They used the New Yorker as
- 1:19:31Speaker 4: another one.
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: Why do you think they're spending so much money against him?
- 1:19:35Speaker 4: I mean, I mean, Washington Examiner, Louisville Public Media. So
- 1:19:39Speaker 4: these are all I'm talking. I'm giving you I'm giving
- 1:19:42Speaker 4: you the sources of my information. So I stand by
- 1:19:44Speaker 4: my numbers. But let me back up because you got
- 1:19:46Speaker 4: me all confused. I got to hit the reset button.
- 1:19:49Speaker 10: So you and I are big, big.
- 1:19:54Speaker 4: Complainers of the spender of the House.
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:19:58Speaker 4: And useless John Thune because they don't move forward the
- 1:20:03Speaker 4: Trump agenda. That's because we don't have unity in the
- 1:20:06Speaker 4: Republican Party to do so.
- 1:20:09Speaker 10: And now here we are.
- 1:20:12Speaker 4: Talking about Representative Massey, who is one of the obstacles
- 1:20:15Speaker 4: to moving the Trump agenda forward. But you're supporting him.
- 1:20:19Speaker 4: So help me understand. I'm confused. Well, you do this
- 1:20:25Speaker 4: a lot. No, I think you do it on purpose.
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: No, I don't. I don't do it.
- 1:20:29Speaker 14: We don't know where you stand.
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: I'm a walking contradiction, partly truth and partly fiction. Is
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: that what you're saying? To quote Chris?
- 1:20:37Speaker 4: Okay, Einstein, to quote your wife.
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: That's Chris Christopherson. Listen, what I'm saying is I am a— So.
- 1:20:44Speaker 4: You can't have it both ways.
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: You can have the agenda. I'm going to answer your question.
- 1:20:48Speaker 4: So which one do you want?
- 1:20:50Speaker 10: Do you want the top agenda.
- 1:20:51Speaker 4: Or do you want Tom Massey?
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: I do not want— No, no, yes or no? No,
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: I do not want Republicans walking in lockstep like Democrats.
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: I want people to act as Americans.
- 1:21:01Speaker 4: You're not going to get the Trump agenda.
- 1:21:04Speaker 7: I'm going to answer your question.
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: No, I can get the Trump agenda because on these issues,
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: the majority of them will agree with it. It's just
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: that the spender of the House isn't... Because they don't
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: have enough members. Well, they don't have 60. They're not
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: going to overcome that. They don't have 60 members.
- 1:21:22Speaker 4: Well, they can't even get their own people to vote
- 1:21:24Speaker 4: for it. There's different ways.
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: Well, I don't think the problem is Massey.
- 1:21:28Speaker 4: Different rules to get this thing done, but they can't
- 1:21:30Speaker 4: even do it because the party is not united. It's
- 1:21:32Speaker 4: the guys like Tom Massey.
- 1:21:34Speaker 5: I don't agree with that. They're in the way.
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: I don't agree with that. So I really don't agree
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: with that at all.
- 1:21:40Speaker 6: Okay.
- 1:21:41Speaker 4: I just don't.
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: You know what I'll get you?
- 1:21:43Speaker 4: What?
- 1:21:44Speaker 14: Nothing.
- 1:21:45Speaker 7: Well, I don't know.
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: I kind of like it. I kind of respect it.
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: I enjoy hearing it, quite frankly. It's kind of the
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: highlight of the day. Let me put it this way.
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: I think it's okay to... I look at Fetterman and
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: I admire..
- 1:22:02Speaker 4: It's okay to disagree.
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: I admire Fetterman that he doesn't walk the Democrat line
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: and he can stray from it. Well, I'm not going
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: to attack somebody in a Republican party who also does that,
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: who says, I don't agree with this. I don't agree
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: with the war. I don't agree with foreign aid. I
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: don't agree with this. I leave you with that thought.
- 1:22:23Speaker 4: All right?
- 1:22:24Speaker 6: Okay, sir.
- 1:22:24Speaker 4: You have a good day.
- 1:22:30Speaker 26: From ABC News, I'm Lindsay Davis, anchor of Prime, streaming
- 1:22:35Speaker 26: weeknights on ABC News Live. The Justice Department has issued
- 1:22:38Speaker 26: an addendum to its sweeping settlement to end President Trump's
- 1:22:41Speaker 26: lawsuit against the IRS. Under the terms, the IRS would be, quote,
- 1:22:44Speaker 26: forever barred and precluded from conducting audits of tax returns
- 1:22:48Speaker 26: filed by Donald Trump, his family, and their companies. About
- 1:22:51Speaker 26: the other part of Trump's settlement with the IRS, the
- 1:22:54Speaker 26: $ 1. 8 billion compensation fund for aggrieved Americans, ABC News Chief
- 1:22:58Speaker 26: Washington Correspondent Jonathan Karl asked Vice President J.D.
- 1:23:01Speaker 25: Vance.
- 1:23:01Speaker 27: I understand that everybody is eligible to apply for this one.
- 1:23:05Speaker 5: I mean, you're eligible, but I assume..
- 1:23:07Speaker 28: You're not going to apply and you don't think you
- 1:23:08Speaker 28: should get money out of this fund.
- 1:23:10Speaker 20: So isn't it just as easy to say that people
- 1:23:12Speaker 20: that attacked police officers should not get taxpayer money from
- 1:23:16Speaker 20: this fund?
- 1:23:17Speaker 29: Well, look, John, we're not trying to give money to
- 1:23:19Speaker 29: anybody who attacked a police officer. We're trying to give money,
- 1:23:23Speaker 29: not give money. We're trying to compensate people. where the
- 1:23:27Speaker 29: book was thrown at them. They were mistreated by the
- 1:23:29Speaker 29: legal system.
- 1:23:30Speaker 26: Islamic leaders in San Diego say victims of yesterday's gunfire
- 1:23:33Speaker 26: at a mosque fought and died saving others. The teenage
- 1:23:36Speaker 26: suspects took their own lives. Police Chief Scott Wall.
- 1:23:40Speaker 7: What you will not hear from us today is the
- 1:23:43Speaker 7: names of these two suspects. Today is about our victims.
- 1:23:50Speaker 5: And our community.
- 1:23:51Speaker 26: One of the teenage shooters apparently posted a live stream
- 1:23:54Speaker 26: of the attack before the shooters killed themselves. Georgia is
- 1:23:57Speaker 26: reporting record-breaking turnout in its primary today. Voting is also
- 1:24:01Speaker 26: underway in Kentucky, Alabama, Idaho, Oregon, and Pennsylvania, giving us
- 1:24:05Speaker 26: a clearer picture of Trump's hold on his party. Today,
- 1:24:08Speaker 26: Trump finally gave his endorsement for Texas Senate Attorney General
- 1:24:11Speaker 26: Ken Paxton over the incumbent John Cornyn. Cornyn says Paxton
- 1:24:15Speaker 26: will likely lose to James Tallarico if he's the Democratic nominee.
- 1:24:19Speaker 26: Losses on Wall Street, the Dow falling 322 points following
- 1:24:23Speaker 26: last week's record rally.
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: You're listening to ABC News. All right, I'm joined this
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: hour by G2 on NewsRadio 570. As well as we'll
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: be taking your calls till 6. Hello, G2.
- 1:24:38Speaker 14: Good afternoon, Ron.
- 1:24:39Speaker 6: How are you?
- 1:24:40Speaker 14: I'm well.
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: I want to start by, before we take calls and anything,
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: I want to talk a little bit about the situation.
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: I'm going to be fascinated to see what happens in
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: Kentucky tonight. I'm hoping Tom Massey won't lose. The odds
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: are probably in his favor that he will, based on
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: you see the amount of money being spent against him
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: and Hegseth going there and Trump being against him. Give
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: me your insight into what's going on in Kentucky. Why
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: is Tom Massey being targeted? Why are millions of dollars
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: coming in from outside lobbyists to get rid of this guy?
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: Give me your thought process. And why should we care?
- 1:25:16Speaker 17: Well, first of all, this.
- 1:25:20Speaker 14: Whole thing comes because Thomas Massey committed some unforgivable sins.
- 1:25:26Speaker 14: And and there were really two of them primarily the
- 1:25:29Speaker 14: first one was when the deal was cut to make
- 1:25:33Speaker 14: the epstein files go away and protect the people that
- 1:25:35Speaker 14: were in those files thomas matty didn't accept the deal
- 1:25:40Speaker 14: thomas matty said this is a major issue to voters
- 1:25:45Speaker 14: and this this can't just be cast aside and and
- 1:25:49Speaker 14: we all know because we've talked a lot about child
- 1:25:51Speaker 14: trafficking that that this This thing Epstein was doing, of course,
- 1:25:56Speaker 14: it was a Mossad operation. Most people believe that seems
- 1:25:59Speaker 14: to be correct. CIA was probably involved. We know it
- 1:26:02Speaker 14: was some kind of a weird leverage.
- 1:26:04Speaker 11: Tool, right?
- 1:26:05Speaker 14: It was a tool to get leverage over government officials
- 1:26:07Speaker 14: and rich people, whatever. But this was only the tip
- 1:26:11Speaker 14: of the iceberg of the child trafficking industry in the
- 1:26:13Speaker 14: United States, the sexual exploitation industry in the United States.
- 1:26:17Speaker 14: It was bigger than any of us could have possibly known.
- 1:26:21Speaker 14: So he said, no, I won't accept that deal. Now,
- 1:26:24Speaker 14: here's one of the keys. I understood what Ted the
- 1:26:27Speaker 14: Conservative was just saying. Here's the thing. Thomas Massey doesn't
- 1:26:31Speaker 14: represent the Republican Party. Thomas Massey represents the people from
- 1:26:36Speaker 14: this particular spot in Kentucky. So it isn't actually a
- 1:26:41Speaker 14: team sport like soccer. That's not what it is. And
- 1:26:46Speaker 14: when you look at Massey's voting record, for example, that 77% number,
- 1:26:51Speaker 14: is about right in terms of when he voted against
- 1:26:53Speaker 14: the majority of Democrats, but his actual voting score by
- 1:26:58Speaker 14: Turning Point USA, when they do this, the Freedom Index,
- 1:27:03Speaker 14: his scores are the best, possibly the best of everyone
- 1:27:06Speaker 14: in Congress.
- 1:27:07Speaker 3: What does that mean?
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: Define so we understand what you just said.
- 1:27:11Speaker 14: What that means is that on issues where you have
- 1:27:14Speaker 14: to vote for or against the Constitution, Thomas Massey votes
- 1:27:18Speaker 14: for the constitutional position more than anybody else in Congress. Now,
- 1:27:22Speaker 14: that may not be absolute. We could argue about who's
- 1:27:24Speaker 14: at the top. He's definitely in the top ten. So
- 1:27:28Speaker 14: you've got 435 members in the House, and they all
- 1:27:33Speaker 14: vote worse than him. Now, here's the problem with the
- 1:27:35Speaker 14: Republican Party. It doesn't have the America First agenda as
- 1:27:39Speaker 14: its priority. Now, we know this because... This big, ugly,
- 1:27:44Speaker 14: horribly expensive, ridiculous bill came out months and months ago. Now,
- 1:27:48Speaker 14: to be clear, I was opposed to the big, beautiful bill.
- 1:27:51Speaker 14: It is not beautiful about it. It came with a
- 1:27:53Speaker 14: $ 5 trillion ransom demanded by Republicans and Democrats in order
- 1:27:59Speaker 14: for a little bit to the America First agenda to
- 1:28:02Speaker 14: get through. Not a lot, just a little. There were
- 1:28:05Speaker 14: some good things in that bill, to be clear. But
- 1:28:07Speaker 14: mostly it came with a $ 5 trillion bill.
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: It kept a lot of Biden spending in it. That's
- 1:28:13Speaker 1: what they say Massey was objecting to.
- 1:28:16Speaker 14: It took the Biden spending and then added more spending.
- 1:28:20Speaker 14: You know, all the Doge things that could have been
- 1:28:21Speaker 14: dealt with, none of those were dealt with. So should
- 1:28:24Speaker 14: we stand with the Republican Party in canceling Doge? The
- 1:28:27Speaker 14: Democrats didn't do that. Republicans did that. Republicans are in
- 1:28:32Speaker 14: control of the House, the White House, and the Senate.
- 1:28:34Speaker 14: They're the ones that could have implemented or or killed
- 1:28:38Speaker 14: doge and they killed it do you stand with the
- 1:28:40Speaker 14: republican party on supporting waste fraud abuse and corruption i
- 1:28:44Speaker 14: don't so so this isn't a team sport it's not
- 1:28:48Speaker 14: as simple as just hey listen we want the little
- 1:28:50Speaker 14: ball to cross the little line more often that direction
- 1:28:54Speaker 14: than the other direction that's simple clear everyone has the
- 1:28:58Speaker 14: same objective Not so here, because in the government, especially
- 1:29:03Speaker 14: the federal government, but at all levels, there are massive
- 1:29:06Speaker 14: amounts of OPM floating around, and everybody's taking their cut.
- 1:29:12Speaker 14: We just had the spender of the House, who we
- 1:29:15Speaker 14: were sold as a conservative Republican. He had a score only,
- 1:29:18Speaker 14: I think it was like 23% below Thomas Matthews. So he's, say,
- 1:29:23Speaker 14: two-thirds as good as Thomas Matthews, or 75% as good
- 1:29:25Speaker 14: as Matthews. Not a real conservative, but, you know, okay.
- 1:29:31Speaker 14: He just stood at a podium and said, you have
- 1:29:33Speaker 14: to let us do insider trading because if we can't
- 1:29:36Speaker 14: commit this illegal act, illegal for you, not for us,
- 1:29:40Speaker 14: then you're going to get even worse representation in Congress.
- 1:29:43Speaker 14: We can't get representation now letting them do insider trading.
- 1:29:48Speaker 14: And he says, if you don't let us do this,
- 1:29:50Speaker 14: if we can't legally commit this illegal act, you're going
- 1:29:54Speaker 14: to get even worse representation because they will just sell
- 1:29:56Speaker 14: out for straight cash now as you know the way
- 1:29:59Speaker 14: it works government if somebody contract everybody on the committee
- 1:30:02Speaker 14: that knows about contract goes about the stock stock it's
- 1:30:05Speaker 14: announced pops they get the profit so so they are
- 1:30:10Speaker 14: selling out out to get stock gain keep saying if
- 1:30:13Speaker 14: we didn't get the stocking we'd have to tell you
- 1:30:15Speaker 14: out for cash you get even worse people coming to
- 1:30:18Speaker 14: dc even worse than him so i don't stand with
- 1:30:22Speaker 14: republicans because they don't stand with us what i stand
- 1:30:26Speaker 14: with is critical issues i stand on issues actual fiscal
- 1:30:33Speaker 14: conservatism when the republican no one in the in the
- 1:30:37Speaker 14: republican party should have ever been asked to vote for
- 1:30:39Speaker 14: the big ugly horribly expensive bill i understand it's the
- 1:30:42Speaker 14: best trump could get because the party's against them matty
- 1:30:47Speaker 14: then votes on the things are important in alignment with
- 1:30:50Speaker 14: fiscal conservatism and the constitution that they are the libertarian
- 1:30:55Speaker 14: fellow i don't care he's more of a of a
- 1:30:57Speaker 14: conservative voter and all these fake conservatives in congress now
- 1:31:01Speaker 14: there's a you know you got guys in ohio pennsylvania
- 1:31:03Speaker 14: they're very good but dot dot about a score tied
- 1:31:07Speaker 14: matty's so we've got to go now the two sins
- 1:31:11Speaker 14: he said no the american people demand the export the
- 1:31:14Speaker 14: exposure and prosecution of any crimes related to the masada.
- 1:31:19Speaker 5: Operation and the epstein that was.
- 1:31:22Speaker 14: The epstein filed me up That's an unforgivable sin, and
- 1:31:25Speaker 14: for that he must be purged from Congress.
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: Just as Marjorie Taylor Greene supported.
- 1:31:32Speaker 14: Right, but if you go back to September of 24,
- 1:31:36Speaker 14: everybody wanted that done. And then one day Trump makes
- 1:31:39Speaker 14: it a hoax. Now here's why this really, really matters.
- 1:31:42Speaker 14: First of all, we've got to fight this human trafficking
- 1:31:46Speaker 14: industry in the United States. I understand Trump has to
- 1:31:49Speaker 14: protect these people in order to get anything done in
- 1:31:52Speaker 14: government understand that they funded him in all this i
- 1:31:54Speaker 14: get that but we've got a fight this industry and
- 1:31:59Speaker 14: all right so matthew this little group go out and
- 1:32:02Speaker 14: they they get to this exposed it's still not all
- 1:32:03Speaker 14: exposed you still haven't seen anything done about it and
- 1:32:07Speaker 14: you know what happened when trump came out and said
- 1:32:09Speaker 14: epstein's a hoax why are you still worried about he's
- 1:32:11Speaker 14: been dead four years after it's on my desk according
- 1:32:14Speaker 14: to bondi after passing out those fake binders to all
- 1:32:17Speaker 14: those silly social media people The minute he said hoax,
- 1:32:22Speaker 14: there was a fracture in the coalition that got him elected.
- 1:32:28Speaker 14: A large number of people, specifically in the 18 to 39s,
- 1:32:30Speaker 14: but other people as well, said, I did everything I
- 1:32:34Speaker 14: could do to get Trump elected. We had to fight
- 1:32:36Speaker 14: the entirety of the Republican and Democrat parties to get
- 1:32:38Speaker 14: that done. We got it done. We got it done
- 1:32:41Speaker 14: with Democrats, independents, and huge numbers of Republicans. And now
- 1:32:46Speaker 14: he's abandoning the reasons we got him there. We're not
- 1:32:48Speaker 14: ever going to see justice. Now that may, you know,
- 1:32:52Speaker 14: the Fox boomer watching Fox said, oh, that's the hoax,
- 1:32:55Speaker 14: and they moved on to something else, Cheetos or something.
- 1:32:58Speaker 14: But to huge numbers of voters, this was absolutely a
- 1:33:03Speaker 14: critical issue because it was, again, the tip of the
- 1:33:05Speaker 14: iceberg of corruption, fraud, wasted abuse, child trafficking, all these
- 1:33:09Speaker 14: heinous crimes that are undermining our nation, driving up our taxes,
- 1:33:12Speaker 14: driving up our debt, driving us into this horrible situation
- 1:33:16Speaker 14: where corruption is the paramount purpose of federal government.
- 1:33:21Speaker 6: Which it is.
- 1:33:21Speaker 14: All right, so then you've got the other unforgivable sin
- 1:33:26Speaker 14: that Thomas Massey committed. He voted against foreign aid. He
- 1:33:34Speaker 14: didn't say, I don't like Jewish people, I'm voting against Israel.
- 1:33:37Speaker 14: It's got nothing to do with Jewish people, and Israel's
- 1:33:40Speaker 14: just one of many. He said, we have $ 40 trillion
- 1:33:43Speaker 14: in debt, a $ 2 trillion deficit. We're racking up a
- 1:33:47Speaker 14: trillion dollars of interest every 90 days. We just added
- 1:33:49Speaker 14: $ 5 trillion to No, I can't vote for that. I'm
- 1:33:52Speaker 14: voting against it. That wasn't voting against the Republican voter
- 1:33:57Speaker 14: who they're supposed to have fidelity to. That was voting
- 1:34:01Speaker 14: against the corruption in the Republican Party in Congress. Now,
- 1:34:05Speaker 14: until we as voters demand these people change and get
- 1:34:08Speaker 14: away from this football jersey nonsense, we're never going to
- 1:34:13Speaker 14: get this fixed. It's not football. Because if you fumble
- 1:34:17Speaker 14: a ball, the other side doesn't pay you a billion
- 1:34:21Speaker 14: dollars See, that's the difference. If you fumble the ball
- 1:34:23Speaker 14: as a Republican, you get paid. Somebody gets a contract,
- 1:34:28Speaker 14: you get to trade the stock. All right, so he
- 1:34:32Speaker 14: did these two things. Now, where does he disagree with
- 1:34:34Speaker 14: Republicans on a regular basis? It's always the fiscal stuff.
- 1:34:39Speaker 14: He is absolutely relentless on the fiscal issues. He will
- 1:34:46Speaker 14: not yield. And they hate it because they're corrupt and
- 1:34:50Speaker 14: they want massive spending. They don't care that it be
- 1:34:53Speaker 14: a balanced budget or that we save the money. They
- 1:34:55Speaker 14: only care that they get to decide where the money
- 1:34:59Speaker 14: goes because that's how they get the maximum amount through
- 1:35:03Speaker 14: the system. So it is overreach, for example, like when
- 1:35:09Speaker 14: the government comes out and says we're going to put
- 1:35:10Speaker 14: in a FISA bill and we're going to come after
- 1:35:13Speaker 14: you even without a warrant. What do you think, Matthew,
- 1:35:17Speaker 14: is the position on that? I can tell you what
- 1:35:18Speaker 14: the Freedom Caucus says. get a warrant. They just did
- 1:35:21Speaker 14: a social media post today from the Freedom Caucus saying
- 1:35:25Speaker 14: exactly what Mattie says. Now, does that mean the Freedom
- 1:35:28Speaker 14: Caucus are bad Republicans because they think the government should
- 1:35:31Speaker 14: be constrained by the United States Constitution?
- 1:35:33Speaker 8: No.
- 1:35:35Speaker 4: Right?
- 1:35:35Speaker 14: I mean, the issues that he is standing up to
- 1:35:38Speaker 14: them on are the issues that we all care about. Now,
- 1:35:40Speaker 14: if you're telling me that in order to be a
- 1:35:42Speaker 14: worthy representative of your constituents, you have to do exactly
- 1:35:46Speaker 14: as you're told by the by the installed power base
- 1:35:51Speaker 14: in Tel Aviv and D.C., I'm telling you then, I
- 1:35:55Speaker 14: disagree with you entirely. I think this decision on the
- 1:36:00Speaker 14: Epstein files turned out to hurt us horribly. The decision
- 1:36:03Speaker 14: on the Iran war, another crack in the system. The
- 1:36:07Speaker 14: constant increase in debt and corruption, a crack in the system.
- 1:36:11Speaker 14: The refusal to go after people for all the crimes
- 1:36:13Speaker 14: they committed. Abusing power, abusing people during the first term.
- 1:36:18Speaker 14: another crack in the system and so richard barrett is
- 1:36:20Speaker 14: one of the two good pollsters in the country put
- 1:36:23Speaker 14: out a uh... an analysis of the various ages of
- 1:36:27Speaker 14: voters today and and where they are now and where
- 1:36:30Speaker 14: they were in november twenty four and yeah there's a
- 1:36:35Speaker 14: difference in november twenty four we had massive support for
- 1:36:40Speaker 14: trump and the republicans among eighteen to thirty nine has
- 1:36:45Speaker 14: diminished significantly Now we're being told... This Ed Gowrain is
- 1:36:50Speaker 14: a horrible guy. He just put up a post that
- 1:36:53Speaker 14: said that Thomas Bansky voted against the Save America Act.
- 1:36:59Speaker 14: It's a blatant lie. It's absolutely not true. Guy puts
- 1:37:02Speaker 14: it out. He doesn't care. This guy's going to be
- 1:37:04Speaker 14: a disaster. But you know what he is going to do?
- 1:37:06Speaker 14: Exactly what he's told, because the first qualification he took
- 1:37:10Speaker 14: that he was advertised with is that he supports Israel
- 1:37:14Speaker 14: without limitation.
- 1:37:15Speaker 6: Listen..
- 1:37:16Speaker 14: I don't have, I mean, you know, look, Israel is
- 1:37:19Speaker 14: this controversial situation. Get it, I got it. But that's
- 1:37:23Speaker 14: not what we're electing here. We're not electing a representative
- 1:37:25Speaker 14: for the people of Israel. We're representing the people of Kentucky.
- 1:37:30Speaker 14: And when you look at the money that's come in,
- 1:37:32Speaker 14: the small donations that have flooded into Massey's camp in
- 1:37:36Speaker 14: smaller numbers by far, those are all coming, you know,
- 1:37:40Speaker 14: the collection of small donations by Massey versus by Galrain,
- 1:37:43Speaker 14: outrageously different. Oh, another place where Massey has been a
- 1:37:48Speaker 14: real thorn in the side is wars. His position is
- 1:37:51Speaker 14: pretty clear. If we're going to have a war, let's
- 1:37:52Speaker 14: declare it. Let's stop with this constant funding of all
- 1:37:55Speaker 14: this stuff and calling it police, military action. Let's do that, okay?
- 1:38:00Speaker 14: So in policy, Massey aligns with the Republican voters 95%, 96%
- 1:38:05Speaker 14: of the time, whereas John Thune gets an F. And
- 1:38:10Speaker 14: we're supposed to think that Thune's going to set the direction,
- 1:38:12Speaker 14: and we all got to adhere to that because he's
- 1:38:14Speaker 14: some Republican. I would fight him every single day. He's
- 1:38:18Speaker 14: an enemy of the state. He's an enemy of the people.
- 1:38:20Speaker 14: He's an enemy of the Constitution. He's corrupt and worthless.
- 1:38:26Speaker 14: So what we're at here now is this situation. where
- 1:38:32Speaker 14: if we don't change tactics pretty soon, if something doesn't happen,
- 1:38:37Speaker 14: that coalition that got Trump elected is going to be
- 1:38:40Speaker 14: absolutely unrecoverable. I don't understand people's confidence going into the midterms.
- 1:38:44Speaker 14: I mean, you could get involved in all the thinking
- 1:38:45Speaker 14: around redistricting, thinking that's going to help. Maybe it will.
- 1:38:50Speaker 14: You get around a whole bunch of things. But if
- 1:38:51Speaker 14: you don't have the voters, the election fraud isn't going
- 1:38:57Speaker 14: to be fixed unless Trump does something by mid-July. Now,
- 1:39:01Speaker 14: here's another Republican.
- 1:39:02Speaker 6: Issue, right?
- 1:39:03Speaker 14: If this is such an easy thing as a soccer game,
- 1:39:06Speaker 14: why haven't they scored a point on the Save America Act?
- 1:39:09Speaker 14: The Republicans have steadfastly refused to defend America's elections, to
- 1:39:14Speaker 14: secure our election processes. They have refused. They've refused at
- 1:39:18Speaker 14: the state level. They've refused at the national level. What
- 1:39:21Speaker 14: little work they've done, I've spent time talking to them
- 1:39:24Speaker 14: about and celebrating. But you've had citizens in this fight
- 1:39:28Speaker 14: for six years now.
- 1:39:30Speaker 1: Hold that thought.
- 1:39:31Speaker 3: Back with G2 and some great analysis, in my opinion,
- 1:39:35Speaker 3: and I hope yours as well.
- 1:39:36Speaker 1: We'll pick it up with where you left off after this.
- 1:39:42Speaker 1: Or by Estella's Pharma.
- 1:39:43Speaker 12: Youngstown's news, weather, and talk station, 570 WKBN.
- 1:39:48Speaker 1: It's 525, Ron Verb talking with G2. So basically you're
- 1:39:52Speaker 1: saying from a conservative standpoint, Massey hits it out of
- 1:39:55Speaker 1: the park.
- 1:39:58Speaker 4: Exactly.
- 1:39:59Speaker 14: So if you define standing with Republicans as Republican voters,
- 1:40:04Speaker 14: Massey beats them all hands down. If you define standing
- 1:40:08Speaker 14: with Republicans as standing with corrupt members of Congress who
- 1:40:12Speaker 14: are destroying this country and refuse to secure our elections,
- 1:40:15Speaker 14: well then, Matt, he's a failure. If you define this
- 1:40:18Speaker 14: as standing with Republicans who want to expand the surveillance state,
- 1:40:22Speaker 14: warrantless searches, and undermine the Constitution, no, Matt, he does
- 1:40:25Speaker 14: not stand with them. But to pretend that the Republican
- 1:40:29Speaker 14: Party is implementing the American agenda and that the way
- 1:40:31Speaker 14: to get it done is with more power for Boone
- 1:40:34Speaker 14: and Spender-Johnson, Look, Trader Thune and Spender Johnson could have
- 1:40:38Speaker 14: gotten this done a long time ago. They refused. Now,
- 1:40:42Speaker 14: here's the impact. I pulled up Rich Ferris' numbers that
- 1:40:47Speaker 14: he put out. I think he put them out earlier today.
- 1:40:48Speaker 14: I don't know. I saw them today. So in November 2024,
- 1:40:51Speaker 14: we had 55.3% of voters 18 to 29.
- 1:40:53Speaker 4: 55%, okay?
- 1:40:53Speaker 14: That's 37% today. 37%. at the making point rock we've
- 1:41:08Speaker 14: got been thirty in the ages thirty to forty four
- 1:41:11Speaker 14: sixty four percent in november twenty four were forty seven
- 1:41:14Speaker 14: percent today forty five to sixty four forty eight percent
- 1:41:21Speaker 14: without forty three blocks five percent other forty five to
- 1:41:25Speaker 14: sixty four how do you do that and then the
- 1:41:28Speaker 14: sixty five this is interesting it goes the other way
- 1:41:31Speaker 14: sixty five plus we were forty five to without fifty
- 1:41:35Speaker 14: six four Now, what that means is that the group
- 1:41:39Speaker 14: that supported Donald Trump and got him elected was young.
- 1:41:42Speaker 14: They were Republican, Independent, and Democrat. And they were focusing
- 1:41:47Speaker 14: on the issues in the American agenda. Now, the group
- 1:41:51Speaker 14: has skewed older, possibly because a lot of the 65-pluses
- 1:41:55Speaker 14: aren't with us now a couple years later, possibly because
- 1:41:58Speaker 14: some of the leftists have realized what they did and
- 1:42:00Speaker 14: they switched parties. Don't know. But we've lost in the
- 1:42:05Speaker 14: 18 to 29s, 30 to 44s, and 45 to 64s
- 1:42:08Speaker 14: massive amounts of support. And here's the thing. How do
- 1:42:11Speaker 14: you think you're going to get through the midterms without voters?
- 1:42:13Speaker 14: You're not going to make it up with election fraud.
- 1:42:15Speaker 14: That's on the other side. How do you think you're
- 1:42:17Speaker 14: going to make Trader Thune and Spender Johnson implement the
- 1:42:22Speaker 14: agenda that Republican voters demand? Well, you're not going to
- 1:42:26Speaker 14: do it without voters. And you're not going to do
- 1:42:28Speaker 14: it with donations because, as you can see from the
- 1:42:30Speaker 14: Thomas Massey thing, they'll pour money to this clown gal
- 1:42:33Speaker 14: rain like crazy as long as he agrees not to
- 1:42:37Speaker 14: implement the american agenda this guy's a neocon he's he's
- 1:42:42Speaker 14: a pro-war guy he's got it seems like he's got
- 1:42:45Speaker 14: kind of a bad attitude oh but he's a veteran
- 1:42:47Speaker 14: listen you know we can all respect veterans in service
- 1:42:50Speaker 14: and all that stuff it doesn't mean that the nurses
- 1:42:53Speaker 14: and the taxi drivers aren't adding value to our society
- 1:42:55Speaker 14: it also doesn't mean that the veterans are going to
- 1:42:58Speaker 14: go to Congress and serve to support the Constitution and
- 1:43:01Speaker 14: the American agenda. John McCain was a veteran, trashed our
- 1:43:05Speaker 14: health system single-handedly. That thumb down that night, right? What
- 1:43:10Speaker 14: did he ever do?
- 1:43:10Speaker 7: He was part of the team.
- 1:43:12Speaker 1: Hold that thought. We'll pick it up right there. This
- 1:43:15Speaker 1: is fascinating. I hope it is to you. Back with
- 1:43:18Speaker 1: G2 in a minute.
- 1:43:19Speaker 12: News Radio 570 WKVN. Now, Ron Verb on NewsRadio 570 WKBN.
- 1:43:29Speaker 1: Talking with G2, I mean, it's going to be fascinating
- 1:43:33Speaker 1: to see what the outcome happens tonight. The odds are
- 1:43:38Speaker 1: probably against Massey because of the amount of money being
- 1:43:42Speaker 1: spent against him, the misinformation out there about him, and
- 1:43:48Speaker 1: the attacks on him.
- 1:43:52Speaker 14: I'll tell you what I've noticed is social media people
- 1:43:57Speaker 14: are posting things that are either just blatantly silly or wrong.
- 1:44:00Speaker 14: I mean, absolutely obviously wrong if you look at it.
- 1:44:04Speaker 14: Or so twisted and tortured that they're just, you know,
- 1:44:09Speaker 14: distortions and propaganda. So you can now quickly tell who's
- 1:44:13Speaker 14: either trying to get favor with Trump because they're, you know,
- 1:44:16Speaker 14: Trump retweet is a really powerful tool. It gets a
- 1:44:19Speaker 14: lot of followers. Or they are being paid. And if
- 1:44:22Speaker 14: you've got an account that's over, say, 50,000 followers on X,
- 1:44:26Speaker 14: if you're at 400,000, 120,000, and you're saying these crazy things,
- 1:44:31Speaker 14: odds are you're getting a check. Because remember, it's not
- 1:44:34Speaker 14: just Marian Adelson and Paul Singer. It's not just Steve Wynn.
- 1:44:38Speaker 14: Israel itself has increased many, many times its payments to
- 1:44:42Speaker 14: social media and then had a meeting and said, we're
- 1:44:44Speaker 14: going to pay social media to put out our message.
- 1:44:47Speaker 14: So this is an all-out assault. So unfortunately, I think
- 1:44:49Speaker 14: you're probably right. But Thomas Massey's Republican Liberty Caucus scores 102.
- 1:44:56Speaker 14: Andy Biggs is 102. Eli Crane, 97. Scott Perry, 97.
- 1:45:00Speaker 14: You cannot say this guy doesn't vote with Republicans. Derek
- 1:45:03Speaker 14: Van Orden is a Navy SEAL. His Heritage Action score
- 1:45:07Speaker 14: is 63. It's an F. Now, we're supposed to believe
- 1:45:12Speaker 14: these Navy SEALs are going to be awesome, right? The
- 1:45:14Speaker 14: Freedom Index, another group that does these scores, 58 for
- 1:45:17Speaker 14: Derek Van Orden. So you're told you've got to vote
- 1:45:20Speaker 14: for this Gowrain guy because he went and fought. Listen,
- 1:45:23Speaker 14: I respect the fighting. I respect the fact that he
- 1:45:25Speaker 14: went and served. We all do, right? It's not after
- 1:45:29Speaker 14: Vietnam where everybody was told to hate the soldiers. That
- 1:45:32Speaker 14: doesn't mean he's going to be a good representative in Congress.
- 1:45:35Speaker 14: And we filled Congress with representatives who are military veterans.
- 1:45:41Speaker 14: And they're destroying the country. And frankly, most of them
- 1:45:44Speaker 14: have no understanding of economics at all. Because if you
- 1:45:47Speaker 14: spent 30 years in the military, what you mostly know
- 1:45:50Speaker 14: is the federal government never runs out of money, so
- 1:45:53Speaker 14: you can always get more. And so far in their lifetimes,
- 1:45:56Speaker 14: they haven't been wrong. They don't understand economics. They don't
- 1:45:59Speaker 14: understand the debt because they've never had to live in
- 1:46:01Speaker 14: that world in the way that most people have. So
- 1:46:07Speaker 14: I think this is a critical moment. If Trump wins
- 1:46:10Speaker 14: tonight and Massey loses, Trump loses. If Massey wins, Trump
- 1:46:15Speaker 14: gets another turn to play, another turn to play with
- 1:46:18Speaker 14: the voters that otherwise would walk away. If I could
- 1:46:21Speaker 14: quickly touch on Ken Paxton, he's another polling result. 30%
- 1:46:27Speaker 14: of the people who are being polled said if, Republican
- 1:46:30Speaker 14: voters I'm talking about, 30% of Republican voters polled said if,
- 1:46:33Speaker 14: if Cornyn wins, they will not show up in November.
- 1:46:36Speaker 14: You've got to remember that this coalition that put Trump
- 1:46:39Speaker 14: in the White House always has the option of not
- 1:46:41Speaker 14: showing up, and they will not hit the polls today.
- 1:46:44Speaker 14: if they don't feel like their vote is going to
- 1:46:46Speaker 14: matter because they won't be represented either way so by
- 1:46:50Speaker 14: trump coming out on the election day by the way
- 1:46:52Speaker 14: not too much to go and and supporting paxton he
- 1:46:57Speaker 14: he obviously had given those people a chance to vote
- 1:47:00Speaker 14: again i think i can't going to do very well
- 1:47:01Speaker 14: i think he's like corn is going to be out
- 1:47:03Speaker 14: that's good because corn and while republican who votes with
- 1:47:06Speaker 14: republicans in congress is that he's a virus now now
- 1:47:11Speaker 14: get rid of corn and Great move for the American people, right?
- 1:47:16Speaker 14: But the people in the Senate, watching him walk out
- 1:47:18Speaker 14: the door, watching Trump endorse the other guy, they're furious.
- 1:47:23Speaker 14: They're angry. They want to control Trump. Everybody wants to
- 1:47:28Speaker 14: control Trump. They want to control the United States federal
- 1:47:31Speaker 14: government's printer. And if they can really pull off the trifecta,
- 1:47:35Speaker 14: they'll control the United States military and get it to
- 1:47:38Speaker 14: do their bidding. So these people in the Senate are like, hey,
- 1:47:41Speaker 14: we're the Senate. You've got to do what we say.
- 1:47:43Speaker 14: We'll be here long after you're gone, Donnie. And he
- 1:47:46Speaker 14: just went after Paxton, or supported Paxton, who you may
- 1:47:49Speaker 14: remember was impeached in Florida. I mean, in Texas. I apologize.
- 1:47:52Speaker 14: In Texas. Because he started exposing some of the real
- 1:47:55Speaker 14: estate fraud that was being committed by government officials. So
- 1:48:00Speaker 14: after that attempted impeachment, many of the Republican representatives in
- 1:48:06Speaker 14: the legislature down there who brought those charges... were removed
- 1:48:09Speaker 14: by the voters. We don't have that chance this time.
- 1:48:12Speaker 14: Whoever's going to be on the ballot in November is
- 1:48:16Speaker 14: already decided or will be decided today or soon. So
- 1:48:22Speaker 14: we've got to have people there that are going to
- 1:48:24Speaker 14: fight for us. I'll take Ken Paxton over Cornyn every
- 1:48:27Speaker 14: single day because he certainly can't be worse. And I suspect,
- 1:48:30Speaker 14: based on his record, he'll be better.
- 1:48:31Speaker 7: So these are two critical things.
- 1:48:34Speaker 1: Even with your criticism of Trump, it isn't as though
- 1:48:37Speaker 1: you say you'd rather have Biden or Harris or Gavin Newsom.
- 1:48:40Speaker 1: Make no mistake about it. But it's okay to be
- 1:48:42Speaker 1: critical of Trump and not go along with him on
- 1:48:45Speaker 1: everything that he stands for or some of the things
- 1:48:47Speaker 1: that he's trying to do. There are people who think
- 1:48:50Speaker 1: with this reversal that Trump did, just to pick your brain,
- 1:48:54Speaker 1: on Epstein and the reversal he did with this situation
- 1:48:57Speaker 1: in Iran... that Netanyahu has something on him. Is that
- 1:49:03Speaker 1: a possibility?
- 1:49:05Speaker 8: No.
- 1:49:05Speaker 14: I don't think that's it. If that was it, they'd
- 1:49:07Speaker 14: have gotten it on him a long time ago. He
- 1:49:08Speaker 14: wouldn't be president today. It's clear that he's not protecting
- 1:49:12Speaker 14: himself in the Epstein files. And we went through this
- 1:49:14Speaker 14: for years and studied everything. He's protecting the people in
- 1:49:18Speaker 14: the Epstein files who he needs to try to get
- 1:49:20Speaker 14: his agenda through. He's protecting the people who are funding everything. Right?
- 1:49:26Speaker 14: He's protecting... he's trying to hold together a coalition to
- 1:49:30Speaker 14: try to salvage something in the America First agenda.
- 1:49:32Speaker 1: Yeah, but he's protecting then the people that were engaged
- 1:49:36Speaker 1: in sex with minors. I mean, that's just wrong. It's
- 1:49:41Speaker 1: just wrong.
- 1:49:43Speaker 14: Yeah, so they were protected by Clinton. They were protected
- 1:49:45Speaker 14: by Bush. They were protected by Obama. They were protected
- 1:49:49Speaker 14: by Biden. And now they're protected by Trump because they're
- 1:49:52Speaker 14: immune to law. They're immune to morals, ethics, and law.
- 1:49:57Speaker 14: That's why, I mean, when you hear people say, we
- 1:49:59Speaker 14: don't have a legitimate government anymore, can you say they're wrong?
- 1:50:04Speaker 4: No.
- 1:50:05Speaker 14: They spent trillions of dollars driving up inflation, literally stealing
- 1:50:09Speaker 14: money from Americans, driving wages down with mass migration, and
- 1:50:13Speaker 14: then claiming to represent us? No, it's not a legitimate government.
- 1:50:17Speaker 1: And then part of the criticism you could have is,
- 1:50:20Speaker 1: where are the people... that pulled some of these shenanigans.
- 1:50:25Speaker 1: Where's the judicial system in all of this?
- 1:50:28Speaker 2: It doesn't exist.
- 1:50:29Speaker 14: They're immune.
- 1:50:30Speaker 1: Well, not in Epstein, but, I mean, in everything else,
- 1:50:33Speaker 1: whether it's Fauci and COVID or whether it's some of
- 1:50:37Speaker 1: the other things that we've seen that there seems to
- 1:50:40Speaker 1: be no– we heard Pam Bondi say all the time
- 1:50:44Speaker 1: about justice, and it never materialized, and it still hasn't materialized. No,
- 1:50:48Speaker 1: I mean, if I'm hopping on, you know, as I
- 1:50:53Speaker 1: look at Trump, I say to myself, I don't know
- 1:50:55Speaker 1: anything more about the shooter in Butler today than I
- 1:51:00Speaker 1: knew when it happened. I don't know anything more about
- 1:51:02Speaker 1: the potential shooter down at the golf course today than
- 1:51:05Speaker 1: when it happened. I don't really know anything more about
- 1:51:07Speaker 1: the JFK assassination. I don't really know anything more about
- 1:51:12Speaker 1: all the stuff that I'm supposed to know more about.
- 1:51:15Speaker 14: I heard today that Thomas Massey did the JFK assassination,
- 1:51:18Speaker 14: so we may be getting close to that.
- 1:51:20Speaker 1: There you go, because they're going to pin that on
- 1:51:22Speaker 1: him next. Let's take some calls, okay? With G2, you're
- 1:51:26Speaker 1: on the air.
- 1:51:27Speaker 30: G2, I'm more worried about the economy. You've seen interest
- 1:51:31Speaker 30: rates going through the roof in the last few days.
- 1:51:33Speaker 30: It got worse even today. $ 40 trillion in debt. I
- 1:51:37Speaker 30: was talking about it yesterday. I think I might have
- 1:51:38Speaker 30: been a little cynical about it, but our debt to
- 1:51:41Speaker 30: GDP is 125%. The Japanese bond rate It's going through
- 1:51:45Speaker 30: the roof, highest in 30 years. They're 220% debt to GDP.
- 1:51:49Speaker 30: They're the largest foreign owner of our debt. When their
- 1:51:53Speaker 30: poo-poo hits the fan and they start selling off our debt,
- 1:51:56Speaker 30: that's going to make the price of bonds go down,
- 1:51:58Speaker 30: and it's going to make the ones we hold worth less.
- 1:52:00Speaker 30: So this has happened all over the world. Germany, the UK,
- 1:52:04Speaker 30: interest rates are going through the roof everywhere.
- 1:52:06Speaker 6: And we have more.
- 1:52:07Speaker 30: Debt that keeps piling on, and it's hard to even
- 1:52:10Speaker 30: fix it or even try to find.
- 1:52:11Speaker 23: A way to fix it.
- 1:52:12Speaker 30: And Paul Volcker in the early 80s He put interest
- 1:52:15Speaker 30: rates through the roof. But that was when we had
- 1:52:17Speaker 30: an economy and our debt to GDP was 25%. We're
- 1:52:21Speaker 30: in a death spiral. So talking about Thomas Massey and
- 1:52:25Speaker 30: who's voting for what, I agree it's a big deal,
- 1:52:28Speaker 30: but we got bigger problems going on right now.
- 1:52:32Speaker 14: Well, first, yes, but the Massey fight is today's fight.
- 1:52:35Speaker 14: And Thomas Massey is one of the guys who is
- 1:52:37Speaker 14: fighting to address the very issues you're raising, which is
- 1:52:39Speaker 14: why we're told we can't have him in Congress anymore.
- 1:52:42Speaker 14: It's exactly the point you raised that's one of the
- 1:52:44Speaker 14: core reasons that he has to be removed. It's why
- 1:52:47Speaker 14: I've been told he doesn't vote with Republicans, because he
- 1:52:49Speaker 14: opposed the $ 5 trillion ransom that came with that big, ugly,
- 1:52:52Speaker 14: stinky bill. Now, Japan and China stopped buying our bonds
- 1:52:58Speaker 14: in about, I don't know, gosh, it's been a long time,
- 1:53:00Speaker 14: like 2015, I think. They've been working off their holdings
- 1:53:04Speaker 14: of U.S. bonds for a very, very long time. So
- 1:53:08Speaker 14: they've been doing that. They don't want to crash the
- 1:53:10Speaker 14: market and hurt themselves either. But they've been trading out
- 1:53:13Speaker 14: of our bonds. So I'm not that worried about their holdings.
- 1:53:16Speaker 14: What I'm worried about is their economy. And, you know,
- 1:53:20Speaker 14: you remember Japan lost decades where they just basically didn't grow.
- 1:53:23Speaker 14: Their cost of living became so high based on, like,
- 1:53:25Speaker 14: the cost of real estate in Tokyo, for example, that
- 1:53:28Speaker 14: they were living three, four generations to a house. It's
- 1:53:31Speaker 14: a tough place to be when you're in a very
- 1:53:33Speaker 14: expensive island that has no resources and wants to be
- 1:53:36Speaker 14: the world's manufacturer. So they've got economic troubles that are
- 1:53:40Speaker 14: multi-decade and have to be worked out. But this government
- 1:53:43Speaker 14: spending and then making the economy dependent on government spending
- 1:53:48Speaker 14: like a heroin addict is dependent on heroin. So now
- 1:53:52Speaker 14: they say, well, hey, if you cut the fraud, what's
- 1:53:55Speaker 14: going to happen to Lamborghini sales? What's going to happen
- 1:53:58Speaker 14: to all the people who work at Lamborghini dealers? If
- 1:54:00Speaker 14: you cut the fraud, how are you going to get
- 1:54:02Speaker 14: people that have been in the country for four years
- 1:54:04Speaker 14: buying half a million to a million and a half
- 1:54:06Speaker 14: dollar homes? What's going to happen to the home prices?
- 1:54:09Speaker 14: If you stop the 500,000 Chinese spies from coming in
- 1:54:13Speaker 14: to pay tuition, what's good? See, now we're addicted, and
- 1:54:17Speaker 14: we have to wean ourselves from that. It's not interest
- 1:54:20Speaker 14: rates that are the fix. It is weaning ourselves from
- 1:54:23Speaker 14: that federal spend. That's where the fix is. And we've
- 1:54:27Speaker 14: got to find a way to do it.
- 1:54:29Speaker 30: No, there's literally no way out. If the rates go up,
- 1:54:33Speaker 30: we don't have the luxury of having an economy where
- 1:54:36Speaker 30: we build things and can actually just overcome our debt anymore.
- 1:54:40Speaker 14: We don't have that.
- 1:54:41Speaker 30: So when interest rates go up for the first time
- 1:54:43Speaker 30: in 40 years, see, America's had falling interest rates for
- 1:54:46Speaker 30: 40 years. We're just progressively getting things cheaper and cheaper
- 1:54:49Speaker 30: to borrow, and that's including paying the interest on all
- 1:54:52Speaker 30: of our debt. When our interest keeps going up and
- 1:54:55Speaker 30: up and up, now we don't work.
- 1:54:59Speaker 14: What do we do?
- 1:55:00Speaker 30: The only option is printing more money. And if Japan
- 1:55:03Speaker 30: sells their bonds..
- 1:55:03Speaker 14: No, no, no, no, no. All you're going to get
- 1:55:05Speaker 14: is hyperinflation if you do that. And that's just the problem.
- 1:55:09Speaker 14: That's why we're in a... This is a tough position.
- 1:55:13Speaker 14: Your concern is correct. We've talked about this for literally
- 1:55:15Speaker 14: years now. I mean, this is a horrible thing. That's
- 1:55:18Speaker 14: why I was so opposed to the big, ugly bill. Because, yeah, okay,
- 1:55:21Speaker 14: I like it a little bit of the America First thing.
- 1:55:24Speaker 14: I like the locking into the tax cuts, which, by
- 1:55:26Speaker 14: the way, both Democrats and Republicans had to do, or
- 1:55:28Speaker 14: their donors would have killed them. But the $ 5 trillion bill,
- 1:55:33Speaker 14: the constant spending, the abolition of Doge, you know, what
- 1:55:38Speaker 14: we've got to do is Doge it. We've got to
- 1:55:41Speaker 14: get rid of the fraud first. And we've got to
- 1:55:43Speaker 14: start cutting into the actual spending. And in doing that,
- 1:55:45Speaker 14: you've got to change the regulatory burden of so that
- 1:55:49Speaker 14: you unleash the the american economic machine so you're right
- 1:55:53Speaker 14: but it's this isn't a a simple thing it's a
- 1:55:56Speaker 14: significantly complex transition but it can't be higher interest rates
- 1:56:01Speaker 14: to just kill the economy we're not going to recover
- 1:56:03Speaker 14: from that now it can't be just uh... more spending
- 1:56:08Speaker 14: to sort of inflate our way out of it we're
- 1:56:11Speaker 14: already overspent right we're already inflated to death i was
- 1:56:15Speaker 14: talking to everybody who's like Mid-30s, one child in the house,
- 1:56:20Speaker 14: one on the way, owns a home, and both parents work.
- 1:56:25Speaker 14: And he went through the list of things that cost
- 1:56:27Speaker 14: him more today than it cost him three years ago
- 1:56:29Speaker 14: or four years ago, five years ago. And he was
- 1:56:33Speaker 14: set up for a very, very easy way to go.
- 1:56:36Speaker 14: He had a house he could easily afford. Everything was great.
- 1:56:39Speaker 14: Now he had a couple kids. You jack up the
- 1:56:41Speaker 14: cost of health care. You keep putting on the taxes.
- 1:56:43Speaker 14: His taxes have increased, I think, twofold in property taxes.
- 1:56:47Speaker 14: Suddenly this extremely responsible American is facing real financial problems.
- 1:56:53Speaker 14: We've got to fix that.
- 1:56:55Speaker 30: And he's doing everything right.
- 1:56:57Speaker 6: Everything.
- 1:56:58Speaker 30: There's three ways to get out of this. You either
- 1:57:01Speaker 30: tax the population more, you spend less, which is not
- 1:57:05Speaker 30: going to happen, or you print more money, or you
- 1:57:08Speaker 30: find more buyers for our debt. And we're running out
- 1:57:11Speaker 30: of places to sell our debt to. So I don't
- 1:57:14Speaker 30: know if you've looked into it. I don't know if
- 1:57:16Speaker 30: you've looked in the clarity. I've been paying attention to clarity.
- 1:57:20Speaker 1: All right. A quick comment and more calls.
- 1:57:25Speaker 6: Go.
- 1:57:26Speaker 14: The stable coin option that they're trying to develop is
- 1:57:29Speaker 14: specifically an effort to try to be able to sell U.S.
- 1:57:31Speaker 14: debt directly to consumers around the world without going through
- 1:57:33Speaker 14: the brokerage wall that they have to penetrate now. I
- 1:57:39Speaker 14: am not a fan of the central bank digital currencies.
- 1:57:41Speaker 14: I'm very concerned about Trump's love of digital. Because, look,
- 1:57:45Speaker 14: what you do with Bitcoin is one thing, but the
- 1:57:47Speaker 14: government getting involved, that's not a good thing. But I
- 1:57:50Speaker 14: think the stablecoin financing effort is where they're going to
- 1:57:53Speaker 14: get it. The problem is that's going to give them
- 1:57:55Speaker 14: the ability to spend more. We've got to get ourselves
- 1:57:58Speaker 14: off of this spending addiction.
- 1:58:00Speaker 18: All right.
- 1:58:01Speaker 1: Alec, thank you. You're on the air with G2.
- 1:58:04Speaker 4: Hey, guys.
- 1:58:04Speaker 14: How you guys doing?
- 1:58:05Speaker 11: Good.
- 1:58:06Speaker 1: Moving along.
- 1:58:07Speaker 5: Go ahead.
- 1:58:08Speaker 10: Okay.
- 1:58:08Speaker 23: I wasn't going to call you about the breaking news
- 1:58:10Speaker 23: from Obama, but G2, I'm listening to what you said, right?
- 1:58:14Speaker 4: But I always thought.
- 1:58:16Speaker 23: If you knew of a crime and you covered it up,
- 1:58:19Speaker 23: that made you just as guilty. So that would make
- 1:58:22Speaker 23: all presidents guilty.
- 1:58:23Speaker 12: News Radio 570 WKBN.
- 1:58:26Speaker 3: All right, try to get it wrapped up here, but
- 1:58:30Speaker 3: go ahead with your question.
- 1:58:31Speaker 17: Real quick, getting back to the bomb again. With Iran,
- 1:58:35Speaker 17: that's the main reason we went to war. But if
- 1:58:38Speaker 17: you look at North Korea, which is the most evil
- 1:58:41Speaker 17: empire on the globe, they've had the bomb now for
- 1:58:44Speaker 17: almost 20 years. They have it. never attacked another country
- 1:58:48Speaker 17: in that time. With the exception, in 1968, they attacked
- 1:58:53Speaker 17: our Pueblo, seized the ship, and I think they shot
- 1:58:56Speaker 17: down another airliner. But outside of those two instances, there's
- 1:59:00Speaker 17: been no use of a bomb. And if you look
- 1:59:03Speaker 17: at the Israelis that have 200 nuclear weapons, I'm more
- 1:59:07Speaker 17: afraid of them using it before North Korea or Iran
- 1:59:11Speaker 17: would use it.
- 1:59:12Speaker 1: Quick comment, G2?
- 1:59:14Speaker 5: Uh..
- 1:59:15Speaker 14: North korea's on a really short leash by uh... held
- 1:59:17Speaker 14: by china and and so i i think there's there's
- 1:59:20Speaker 14: certainly their own restraint they know they'd be eliminated as
- 1:59:23Speaker 14: a country if they did anything but they also have
- 1:59:26Speaker 14: china hold them back because china's depend upon member export
- 1:59:29Speaker 14: markets to survive right they need the world economy functioning
- 1:59:33Speaker 14: first of all so i think right about that i
- 1:59:36Speaker 14: just don't see anybody saying hey let's give these guys
- 1:59:39Speaker 14: the bomb in fact it'd be nice if we could
- 1:59:41Speaker 14: get it back from pakistan and and some others You're
- 1:59:44Speaker 14: concerned about Israel. If they're faced with an existential threat,
- 1:59:48Speaker 14: I think they would absolutely use nukes.
- 1:59:51Speaker 1: All right, thanks.
- 1:59:52Speaker 17: Okay, good analysis.
- 1:59:53Speaker 10: Thank you.
- 1:59:53Speaker 1: With G2, you're on the air.
- 1:59:55Speaker 31: You've reached the Boss Lady sex slave hotline.
- 1:59:58Speaker 14: We're sorry. All of our sex slaves are currently busy
- 2:00:01Speaker 14: with other customers.
- 2:00:02Speaker 6: I got to go.
- 2:00:03Speaker 1: All right. Doing a little humor there. All right, G2.
- 2:00:08Speaker 1: So tonight should be interesting. I mean, I would say
- 2:00:12Speaker 1: the odds are not in Massey's favor when you got
- 2:00:15Speaker 1: that kind of money, when you see the power of
- 2:00:20Speaker 1: the influencers online or Fox News or the amount of
- 2:00:25Speaker 1: money put in and the Trump people to try to
- 2:00:29Speaker 1: get one guy out of office is very, very, you
- 2:00:34Speaker 1: must say something strange is here when you look at
- 2:00:37Speaker 1: that amount of money being spent there and where it's
- 2:00:39Speaker 1: all coming from. So we shall see what happens tonight,
- 2:00:43Speaker 1: maybe some analysis tomorrow, post-mortem, if you will.
- 2:00:46Speaker 14: It's going to be fascinating, and you're right. There will
- 2:00:50Speaker 14: be many, many messages sent to lots of people, depending
- 2:00:53Speaker 14: on this outcome. If you're in Congress, no one will
- 2:00:56Speaker 14: dare step out if he loses.
- 2:00:58Speaker 4: Bye-bye.
- 2:00:59Speaker 1: All right, G2, more analysis tomorrow. Stay tuned.
- 2:01:02Speaker 3: Guardians coming up next. ABC News, I'm Wayne Cabot. We're
- 2:01:10Speaker 3: learning there will be perpetual protection for the president under
- 2:01:14Speaker 3: his settlement with the IRS. ABC's Stephen Portnoy.
- 2:01:17Speaker 20: An order from the acting attorney general has the Justice
- 2:01:20Speaker 20: Department agreeing it is forever barred and precluded from pursuing
- 2:01:24Speaker 20: any currently pending matters against Donald Trump, his family, or
- 2:01:27Speaker 20: Trump-affiliated entities. The order specifically mentions any tax returns filed
- 2:01:32Speaker 20: up to the date of the settlement of the lawsuit.
- 2:01:34Speaker 20: The order, which does not spell out or speak to
- 2:01:37Speaker 20: any matters which might be pending, is signed by Todd Blanche,
- 2:01:40Speaker 20: who previously served as the President's personal defense lawyer.
- 2:01:43Speaker 3: About the other part of the settlement, Vice President J.D.
- 2:01:46Speaker 3: Vance says that using nearly $ 2 billion taxpayer dollars to
- 2:01:50Speaker 3: compensate wronged Americans would finally put an end to what
- 2:01:54Speaker 3: happened on January 6th.
- 2:01:55Speaker 29: Let's turn the page on this thing that we did
- 2:01:58Speaker 29: under the last administration where we tried to throw people
- 2:02:00Speaker 29: in prison because they had the wrong politics.
- 2:02:03Speaker 5: Let's throw people in prison who broke the law.
- 2:02:05Speaker 3: He didn't rule out paying compensation to people convicted of
- 2:02:08Speaker 3: assaulting police officers that day. ABC's Alex Stone is in
- 2:02:12Speaker 3: San Diego with new information about the teenagers who shot
- 2:02:15Speaker 3: up an Islamic center, killing three before killing themselves.
- 2:02:18Speaker 16: We have learned from sources that they were recording and
- 2:02:22Speaker 16: live streaming this event as well. Law enforcement is reviewing
- 2:02:26Speaker 16: very graphic video that was posted to a Gore website
- 2:02:30Speaker 16: that showed this unfolding live and the end of it
- 2:02:33Speaker 16: happening live as well, where they took their own lives.
- 2:02:36Speaker 16: And so that is a part of this investigation. But
- 2:02:39Speaker 16: it appears that they planned this. They had a lot
- 2:02:42Speaker 16: of hate. And they arrived here at the center yesterday.
- 2:02:45Speaker 16: And they carried this out.
- 2:02:47Speaker 3: President Trump says he was an hour away from ordering
- 2:02:50Speaker 3: more strikes on Iran this week. But then Gulf allies
- 2:02:53Speaker 3: pressured him to hold off.
- 2:02:55Speaker 7: Yeah, it was all done. The boats, the ships are
- 2:02:57Speaker 7: all loaded. They're loaded to the brim. And we're all
- 2:03:00Speaker 7: set to start.
- 2:03:01Speaker 3: Brent crude at $ 107 a barrel now. You're listening to
- 2:03:05Speaker 3: ABC News.
- 2:03:13Speaker 7: Good evening, everyone.
- 2:03:14Speaker 31: Welcome to the Bet365 Guardians warm-up show. Tonight from Comerica
- 2:03:19Speaker 31: Park in Detroit, it's the Guardians and Detroit Tigers meeting
- 2:03:23Speaker 31: in Game 2 of this four-game series. Jim Rosenhouse, along
- 2:03:27Speaker 31: with you, about a half hour prior, to tonight's first pitch.
- 2:03:30Speaker 31: Another changeable weather day in Detroit, but things looking up
- 2:03:35Speaker 31: for a 6.40 start time local time. Guardians trying to
- 2:03:39Speaker 31: make it two in a row after the impressive 8-2
- 2:03:42Speaker 31: victory last night. Keyed by another big night at the
- 2:03:46Speaker 31: plate from Jose Ramirez. Angel Martinez pitching in along with
- 2:03:50Speaker 31: Reese Hoskins and the Guardians now. Two games up on
- 2:03:53Speaker 31: second place Chicago in the AL Central while the Tigers
- 2:03:57Speaker 31: continue to flounder They are eight games under. 500 and
- 2:04:01Speaker 31: six games off the pace at the bottom of the division.
- 2:04:04Speaker 5: Stay with us.
- 2:04:04Speaker 7: We'll have more to come after this timeout. The pitch
- 2:04:14Speaker 7: hit a ton.
- 2:04:15Speaker 12: Deep right.
- 2:04:16Speaker 5: Down the line. Fair ball.
- 2:04:20Speaker 7: Another home run for Angel Martinez. That's his ninth. And
- 2:04:27Speaker 7: it's 8-2 Cleveland. The only question was, would it stay fair?
- 2:04:33Speaker 7: Would it hit the foul pole? It didn't hit the pole,
- 2:04:38Speaker 7: but it stayed fair. And boy, did he tee off.
- 2:04:43Speaker 7: Welcome back to the Bet365 Guardians warm-up show.
- 2:04:46Speaker 31: The Guardians and Tigers meeting here at Comerica Park in Detroit.
- 2:04:50Speaker 31: Angel Martinez has been announced as the American League Player
- 2:04:53Speaker 31: of the Week for the week gone by. That announcement
- 2:04:56Speaker 31: coming yesterday after a 7-for-19 week with four of the
- 2:05:00Speaker 31: seven hits home runs. He drove in seven in six games,
- 2:05:05Speaker 31: scored eight times, and throw in three stolen bases for
- 2:05:08Speaker 31: good measure. And it was quite a week for Martinez,
- 2:05:11Speaker 31: the third Guardians player. to win the American League Player
- 2:05:15Speaker 31: of the Week award. Chase DeLauder did it the first
- 2:05:17Speaker 31: week of the season with that huge start to his
- 2:05:19Speaker 31: year at Seattle. And then it was Jose Ramirez in
- 2:05:22Speaker 31: mid-April winning the award as well. And now, Angel Martinez.
- 2:05:26Speaker 31: We'll hear from the Guardians outfielder when we return after this.
- 2:05:32Speaker 25: Here's the Bet365 Minute, where winning is everything, with Scott Davidson.
- 2:05:36Speaker 32: Let's check the numbers. Game 2 from Comerica. The Guardians
- 2:05:39Speaker 32: a pretty hefty favorite tonight on the road. They're minus
- 2:05:42Speaker 32: 160 with Messick. Total is 8. And off another easy
- 2:05:45Speaker 32: winner last night on Tampa Bay.
- 2:05:47Speaker 1: Let's try to keep the streak going.
- 2:05:48Speaker 32: Going to stay right here, give you my first no-run
- 2:05:50Speaker 32: first inning play of the year. And it's going to
- 2:05:52Speaker 32: be the Guardians and the Tigers. to have no runs
- 2:05:55Speaker 32: in the first inning. Now, Parker Messick, this is simple.
- 2:05:58Speaker 32: He is 9-0 on no-run first innings this year against
- 2:06:01Speaker 32: a Tigers team that hasn't scored many runs in the first.
- 2:06:04Speaker 32: On the other side, it is Kyler Montero. He's 8-0
- 2:06:07Speaker 32: no-run first innings this year against a Guardians team that
- 2:06:10Speaker 32: has not scored in nearly 70% of their games in
- 2:06:13Speaker 32: the first.
- 2:06:13Speaker 1: No run first innings. Guardians, Tigers, my play of the day.
- 2:06:16Speaker 32: Now you can join me when you download the Bet365 app.
- 2:06:19Speaker 32: You bet $ 10, you get $ 200 in bonus bets. Win
- 2:06:21Speaker 32: or lose, terms and conditions apply. And that's the Bet365 Minute.
- 2:06:25Speaker 32: I'm Scott Davidson.
- 2:06:26Speaker 1: Gambling problem? Call 1-800-MY-RESET. 21 plus only. Must be physically
- 2:06:30Speaker 1: located in Ohio.
- 2:06:33Speaker 7: The batter will be Angel Martinez. Bases loaded. One down.
- 2:06:38Speaker 7: Infield back.
- 2:06:39Speaker 4: The pitch.
- 2:06:40Speaker 7: And a swing and a liner that's over the head
- 2:06:42Speaker 7: of McKinstry and a right of base hit. Everybody moves
- 2:06:46Speaker 7: up one as Pazana scores to make it 5-1 Cleveland.
- 2:06:50Speaker 7: So a base hit to right field by Angel Martinez.
- 2:06:54Speaker 7: His second hit tonight. And he now has collected nine
- 2:06:59Speaker 7: RBIs in his last seven games and 25 on the year.
- 2:07:05Speaker 31: Welcome back to Guardians Warm-Up. Angel Martinez joining us after
- 2:07:08Speaker 31: earning American League Player of the Week honors for a
- 2:07:11Speaker 31: big week at the plate, obviously.
- 2:07:13Speaker 2: Angel, it's interesting.
- 2:07:15Speaker 31: I think players look at it differently as whether it's
- 2:07:18Speaker 31: an honor, obviously. But what does it mean to you
- 2:07:20Speaker 31: from the positive but also the cautionary tale, too?
- 2:07:23Speaker 5: It feels really good.
- 2:07:25Speaker 33: Don't try to get it too high for the news,
- 2:07:27Speaker 33: you know, trying to keep it together. But it's pretty
- 2:07:31Speaker 33: special to me, all the work that I've been putting on,
- 2:07:34Speaker 33: like it's showing up.
- 2:07:35Speaker 5: And I'm really happy for her.
- 2:07:36Speaker 31: And you've been fairly consistent, obviously a big week. It
- 2:07:39Speaker 31: earns you the honor. How difficult can it be for
- 2:07:43Speaker 31: a young player to be consistent, and what's been the
- 2:07:45Speaker 31: key for you to get there?
- 2:07:47Speaker 33: Don't get too high. When things are going well, don't
- 2:07:50Speaker 33: get too high. When things are going low, don't get
- 2:07:52Speaker 33: too low. I think that's been the key for me
- 2:07:55Speaker 33: this year, and I'm going to try to keep it
- 2:07:58Speaker 33: as much as I can.
- 2:07:59Speaker 31: I thought it was interesting. You had mentioned a little
- 2:08:02Speaker 31: while back about your approach of the plate. You've always
- 2:08:06Speaker 31: been aggressive, but you've been a little more selective, but
- 2:08:08Speaker 31: you're trying to keep the aggressive.
- 2:08:10Speaker 6: Part of it.
- 2:08:10Speaker 31: How are you balancing the two?
- 2:08:13Speaker 33: It's always been part of my game. I'm really aggressive,
- 2:08:16Speaker 33: but when I'm doing well, I'm aggressive and I'm able
- 2:08:21Speaker 33: to select the pitch that I'm looking for.
- 2:08:23Speaker 5: So you.
- 2:08:26Speaker 33: Just find a way to keep it as consistent.
- 2:08:30Speaker 31: You were part of a big weekend home run rise
- 2:08:32Speaker 31: for the team, especially yesterday.
- 2:08:34Speaker 2: When you see.
- 2:08:35Speaker 31: Games like that, what do you think about the possibilities
- 2:08:38Speaker 31: for this team offensively when they put together a game
- 2:08:41Speaker 31: like that?
- 2:08:42Speaker 33: I don't really get away from it. that we have
- 2:08:45Speaker 33: a game like that. The possibility, they are there. We
- 2:08:48Speaker 33: know that we can, like, achieve anything that we're trying
- 2:08:52Speaker 33: to achieve. So for me, like, it don't surprise me that, like,
- 2:08:57Speaker 33: a really good game like that one, you know? I
- 2:09:01Speaker 33: know that we're able to do it, and for sure
- 2:09:03Speaker 33: we're going to keep doing it during the season.
- 2:09:06Speaker 31: And personally, you've been in the major leagues a couple
- 2:09:08Speaker 31: of seasons now. How different a player are you now
- 2:09:11Speaker 31: than you were, say, this time a year ago?
- 2:09:13Speaker 6: Same guy.
- 2:09:15Speaker 33: Same guy, just different way to approach the game, but
- 2:09:19Speaker 33: same guy.
- 2:09:20Speaker 31: And obviously we talk about home runs, things you're doing
- 2:09:23Speaker 31: at the plate. You're stealing bases, you're playing good defense.
- 2:09:26Speaker 31: How important are those two facets of your game?
- 2:09:29Speaker 33: Yeah, those, like, heat homers for me, like, yeah, it
- 2:09:32Speaker 33: feels really good, but, like, I take pride of those
- 2:09:35Speaker 33: two things that you said, like, from the base as well.
- 2:09:38Speaker 33: Always hustling, play good defense. I feel like at some point, like,
- 2:09:43Speaker 33: Those are game-changing, so really keep looking for it.
- 2:09:48Speaker 6: Angel, congrats.
- 2:09:48Speaker 31: Thanks for coming by.
- 2:09:49Speaker 33: Thank you.
- 2:09:50Speaker 31: And again, we caught up with Angel Martinez pregame yesterday
- 2:09:54Speaker 31: after the announcement was made, and then he went out
- 2:09:57Speaker 31: and had two more hits, drove in a run. The
- 2:10:00Speaker 31: first Guardians player with a seven-game hit streak featuring an
- 2:10:03Speaker 31: RBI in seven straight games since Shinsu Chu did it
- 2:10:08Speaker 31: back in September of 2013. So it's been a while,
- 2:10:11Speaker 31: and that's the kind of streak that Angel Martinez has
- 2:10:15Speaker 31: been on. He's been absolutely terrific.
- 2:10:17Speaker 2: Stay with us.
- 2:10:18Speaker 7: We'll have more to come after this.
- 2:10:20Speaker 9: In baseball, there are plenty of things you can count on.
- 2:10:23Speaker 9: A sea of foam fingers, kids lining up for autographs,
- 2:10:27Speaker 9: catching the wave as it makes its way around the stands.

- 2:12:45Speaker 34: moving through that's going to drop our temperatures into Wednesday.
- 2:12:48Speaker 34: We'll hover in the 50s for much of the day
- 2:12:50Speaker 34: with a good breeze coming in from the north. Rain
- 2:12:52Speaker 34: will be lingering, especially for the first part of the day.
- 2:12:55Speaker 34: Clouds will stick around. In the 3 News Weather Center,
- 2:12:57Speaker 34: I'm meteorologist Jessica Van Meter.
- 2:13:00Speaker 7: Stay with us when we return.
- 2:13:01Speaker 31: It's Tom Hamilton, manager Stephen Boat, the Key Bank Manager Show, next.
- 2:13:16Speaker 7: Hi again everybody with cleveland manager steven boat this is
- 2:13:18Speaker 7: tom hamilton welcome to the manager show the manager show
- 2:13:21Speaker 7: brought to you by key bank you laid it out
- 2:13:24Speaker 7: you said if the ball's on the ground frambois valdez
- 2:13:27Speaker 7: is winning if cleveland can get the ball in the
- 2:13:30Speaker 7: air you had a chance boy did you execute.
- 2:13:33Speaker 27: Yeah our guys went out and executed a great game
- 2:13:35Speaker 27: plan i mean grant fink and the hitting team got
- 2:13:38Speaker 27: these guys prepared for frambois really really well and um
- 2:13:42Speaker 27: Our guys went out and executed, and it's a lot
- 2:13:44Speaker 27: of fun when we have a plan and we go
- 2:13:45Speaker 27: out and execute it and it turned into a nice
- 2:13:47Speaker 27: win for us last night.
- 2:13:49Speaker 7: Voter, you can have a plan, and then you step
- 2:13:52Speaker 7: into the batter's box. But it looks like you're executing
- 2:13:55Speaker 7: your plans here better for the last several weeks.
- 2:13:58Speaker 22: Why?
- 2:13:58Speaker 27: I think it's just our players are starting to really
- 2:14:01Speaker 27: understand that when you step into that batter's box, you
- 2:14:04Speaker 27: have to have a clear plan. If you go up
- 2:14:07Speaker 27: there just looking for a pitch, trying to hit it,
- 2:14:09Speaker 27: hoping that it's going to, you're going to lose. These
- 2:14:12Speaker 27: pitchers are too good, and we know what they're trying
- 2:14:14Speaker 27: to do. We know what pitches they have. We know
- 2:14:17Speaker 27: what they like to do. So this is way easier
- 2:14:19Speaker 27: said than done. But when you go into it with
- 2:14:21Speaker 27: a clear plan and you stick to that, you're going
- 2:14:24Speaker 27: to have a lot more success.
- 2:14:26Speaker 5: All right.
- 2:14:27Speaker 7: So where is the fine line? Because there can also
- 2:14:30Speaker 7: be paralysis by analysis, and you're in the batter's box
- 2:14:33Speaker 7: thinking about the plan, and the ball's in the catcher's mitt.
- 2:14:37Speaker 7: So how do you navigate that?
- 2:14:40Speaker 5: It's tough.
- 2:14:40Speaker 27: I mean, it's hitting, but when you're, if your plan
- 2:14:43Speaker 27: is I got to hit this ball in the air,
- 2:14:45Speaker 27: let's keep it as simple as possible.
- 2:14:46Speaker 5: We, we really rarely have an elaborate plan.
- 2:14:49Speaker 27: It's usually very simple because if all I'm trying to
- 2:14:52Speaker 27: do is pick up what pitch it is and hit
- 2:14:54Speaker 27: it in the air, that gives me a clear objective.
- 2:14:57Speaker 5: And so we try to keep it that simple every
- 2:14:58Speaker 5: single night.
- 2:15:00Speaker 7: Doesn't hurt when number 11 gets hot.
- 2:15:02Speaker 5: No, it doesn't.
- 2:15:03Speaker 27: Um, Man, is it fun to watch Hosey when he's going.
- 2:15:07Speaker 27: We all knew this was coming. The weather changed, and
- 2:15:09Speaker 27: so did Hosey. But yeah, just great at bats. He's
- 2:15:13Speaker 27: taking his walks, punishing mistakes.
- 2:15:17Speaker 5: It's so much fun when Hosey's going.
- 2:15:19Speaker 7: How big a deal was it for Slade Ciccone to
- 2:15:22Speaker 7: get you nearly through eight innings?
- 2:15:24Speaker 5: Yeah, it was huge.
- 2:15:25Speaker 27: For Slade to be efficient, for us to create some
- 2:15:29Speaker 27: separation so that he could keep going.
- 2:15:32Speaker 5: Man, did he answer the call.
- 2:15:33Speaker 27: And to get a seven and a third, you know,
- 2:15:35Speaker 27: this is two in a row where we've been able
- 2:15:37Speaker 27: to kind of save the bullpen in the middle of
- 2:15:38Speaker 27: a 13-game stretch, which is huge. And, you know, we
- 2:15:42Speaker 27: don't take it for granted. Slade was outstanding last night.
- 2:15:44Speaker 27: Breaking ball, best breaking ball he's had all year, coupled
- 2:15:47Speaker 27: with the three fastballs.
- 2:15:48Speaker 5: It was fun.
- 2:15:49Speaker 7: Voter, you still have a young team for the most part.
- 2:15:52Speaker 7: In fact, there are nights where you've got, well, tonight,
- 2:15:55Speaker 7: you can have four rookies in the lineup because of
- 2:15:57Speaker 7: a guy like Parker Messick pitching. Is this club forging
- 2:16:01Speaker 7: its identity?
- 2:16:02Speaker 5: What are you seeing?
- 2:16:04Speaker 27: We just go out to win every night. It's not
- 2:16:06Speaker 27: going to look the same every night. It's not going
- 2:16:07Speaker 27: to be the same suspects.
- 2:16:10Speaker 5: That's the thing. We're getting contributions.
- 2:16:11Speaker 27: From 1 through 13 in the position player side, and
- 2:16:15Speaker 27: we're getting contributions from 1 through 13 on the pitching side.
- 2:16:17Speaker 27: That's what good teams do. We use all 26 guys.
- 2:16:20Speaker 27: They're going to help us win. Parker's been outstanding, and
- 2:16:23Speaker 27: hopefully he gives us another chance tonight.
- 2:16:26Speaker 7: How do you navigate first base? Because Reese Hoskins has
- 2:16:29Speaker 7: been a guy throughout his career. He's a streaky hitter,
- 2:16:33Speaker 7: but you can't get into a hot streak unless you're playing.
- 2:16:36Speaker 7: Yet Kyle Manzardo is about as hot as anybody you
- 2:16:39Speaker 7: have right now.
- 2:16:40Speaker 5: If you have any ideas, let me know. Then we're
- 2:16:42Speaker 5: in trouble.
- 2:16:44Speaker 27: We're looking at it as a really good problem to have.
- 2:16:46Speaker 27: We have two very good hitting first basemen. They're both
- 2:16:49Speaker 27: playing good defense. The tough spot is that Chase DeLauder
- 2:16:52Speaker 27: and Hosey need to DH a lot of the time.
- 2:16:55Speaker 27: And So it's really hard to get them both in
- 2:16:56Speaker 27: the lineup at the same time. So we're going to
- 2:16:59Speaker 27: try and navigate it. We're going to look for the
- 2:17:00Speaker 27: favorable matchups for both of them. They're both very aware
- 2:17:03Speaker 27: of their role. They're both very accepting of it. Everyone
- 2:17:06Speaker 27: wants to play more than they are. But we're going
- 2:17:09Speaker 27: to continue to look for ways to keep Reese going
- 2:17:11Speaker 27: and keep Kyle going. And like I said, that's one
- 2:17:15Speaker 27: of the many difficult things in this job is to
- 2:17:17Speaker 27: try and what's enough playing time, who needs to play more,
- 2:17:20Speaker 27: and just kind of balance that.
- 2:17:21Speaker 7: But also, isn't Reese Hoskins bringing something to you in
- 2:17:24Speaker 7: this clubhouse as well?
- 2:17:25Speaker 27: Oh, I mean, what he's doing on the field is really,
- 2:17:27Speaker 27: really good right now. But what he's doing for this
- 2:17:30Speaker 27: team is immeasurable and invaluable. I mean, the conversations he's
- 2:17:35Speaker 27: constantly having with our young hitters, the conversations he's having
- 2:17:37Speaker 27: with our pitchers, you know, he's standing in our bullpens,
- 2:17:40Speaker 27: helping our pitchers understand how their stuff's going to play
- 2:17:43Speaker 27: to right-handed hitters and just an unbelievable teammate.
- 2:17:47Speaker 7: That's hard to do when you're new to a club.
- 2:17:50Speaker 27: Yeah, and he embraced that role. Before he even signed
- 2:17:53Speaker 27: when we spoke, he said he wanted to come in. Obviously,
- 2:17:55Speaker 27: he wants to play and help us win on the field,
- 2:17:57Speaker 27: but he's at a point in his career where he's like,
- 2:17:59Speaker 27: I know that part of my job now is to
- 2:18:00Speaker 27: help young guys, and Reese has done that tenfold, and
- 2:18:03Speaker 27: he's really given us a lot at the.
- 2:18:05Speaker 7: Plate, too. That's Cleveland manager Stephen Vogt, Tom Hamilton, inviting
- 2:18:09Speaker 7: you to stay tuned. The first pitch from Motown, next

- 2:18:48Speaker 31: pinned a loss on him scoring four runs in five
- 2:18:50Speaker 31: innings of work on the other side it's right-hander Cater
- 2:18:53Speaker 31: Montero 2-3 on the year with an earned run average
- 2:18:57Speaker 31: of 3.65 that's over eight starts Only time he's faced

- 2:26:24Speaker 7: time of the day, left field is brutal for the
- 2:26:28Speaker 7: left fielder. Man, it is a tough sun field in
- 2:26:32Speaker 7: left field. And as this game begins, we'll have some
- 2:26:35Speaker 7: shadows streaking across the home plate and the pitcher's mound
- 2:26:39Speaker 7: areas as we will see. have more shadows throughout the
- 2:26:44Speaker 7: early stages of this game as long as that sun
- 2:26:48Speaker 7: is evident, which it is right now. Cleveland, after a
- 2:26:52Speaker 7: resounding win to start this series last night, now the
- 2:26:57Speaker 7: best team in the American League Central Division. A season high,
- 2:27:02Speaker 7: five games over the 500 mark at 27-22. Cleveland now
- 2:27:07Speaker 7: with a two-game lead over the Chicago White Sox. Detroit
- 2:27:11Speaker 7: and Kansas City dead last in the American League Central.
- 2:27:15Speaker 7: Six and a half games in back of Cleveland as
- 2:27:18Speaker 7: those two clubs are 20 and 28. The umpires tonight,
- 2:27:23Speaker 7: Ron Culpa. He is the crew chief. He'll make the
- 2:27:26Speaker 7: calls behind the plate. Then it's Dylan Wilson at first,
- 2:27:30Speaker 7: Manny Gonzalez at second, Tom Hanahan at third. As we
- 2:27:35Speaker 7: start this game, the flags are barely moving, so just
- 2:27:39Speaker 7: a whistleblower of a breeze at times, but my goodness,
- 2:27:43Speaker 7: it is really pleasant. However, the temperature tomorrow is going
- 2:27:47Speaker 7: to plummet about 20 degrees from the high temps that
- 2:27:51Speaker 7: we have had yesterday and today here in the Motor City.
- 2:27:55Speaker 7: This ballpark opened up in the year 2000. It seats 41,000.
- 2:28:00Speaker 7: The all-dark green seats. Double-deck affair from foul pole around
- 2:28:04Speaker 7: home plate to foul pole. Outfield seating in left and
- 2:28:09Speaker 7: in right. Massive center field. 4-12 to dead center. And then...
- 2:28:15Speaker 7: In the gaps, it is 370 to left center, just
- 2:28:19Speaker 7: 365 to right center. A long way down that left
- 2:28:23Speaker 7: field line, 342 and 330 down the right field line.
- 2:28:28Speaker 7: And of course, because of that massive center field and
- 2:28:32Speaker 7: also the deep distance down the left field line, for instance,
- 2:28:37Speaker 7: 17 feet deeper down the left field line here than
- 2:28:40Speaker 7: it is in Cleveland. It just gives you acres of
- 2:28:44Speaker 7: of grass to cover in the outfield. That's why this
- 2:28:47Speaker 7: is always one of the best parks in baseball for
- 2:28:50Speaker 7: doubles and for triples. There's also a lot of room
- 2:28:54Speaker 7: in foul territory. Right-hander Cater Montero to face Cleveland tonight.
- 2:29:01Speaker 7: He'll get it up there in the mid-90s. A fastball,
- 2:29:04Speaker 7: a sinker, a curve, and a slider along with a changeup.
- 2:29:07Speaker 7: Off to a good start. He will face eight left-handed
- 2:29:11Speaker 7: bats tonight. starting with the man at the plate, Daniel Schneeman.
- 2:29:17Speaker 7: Montero's ready, into the wind, tonight's first pitch, and it's
- 2:29:21Speaker 7: in there, a strike, and we're underway in Motown. 76 degrees,
- 2:29:30Speaker 7: the official game time, Tim. The next delivery, and Schneeman
- 2:29:34Speaker 7: sends one high in the air foul down that third
- 2:29:37Speaker 7: base side. Long run for everybody, and it sneaks over
- 2:29:41Speaker 7: the netting. Out of play, 0-2. Cater Montero faced Cleveland
- 2:29:48Speaker 7: two years ago. That's his only start against Cleveland. Won
- 2:29:51Speaker 7: that game, shutting out Cleveland in six and a third.
- 2:29:56Speaker 7: Montero this year, two wins, three losses, 365 ERA in
- 2:30:02Speaker 7: eight starts, no complete games, almost six innings to start,
- 2:30:06Speaker 7: six strikeouts, two walks per nine. Schneeman pops up the
- 2:30:10Speaker 7: next pitch. This ball is going to be caught by
- 2:30:13Speaker 7: the shortstop, and Zach Short in shallow center retires Daniel Schneeman,
- 2:30:19Speaker 7: and that is out number one. That'll bring up Jose Ramirez.
- 2:30:24Speaker 7: Does he like hitting in the two-hole? Well, you tell me.
- 2:30:29Speaker 7: Jose Ramirez has been in the two-hole for five games.
- 2:30:34Speaker 7: He's been on base 15 times in those games. He
- 2:30:39Speaker 7: swings and sends this one foul. First base side, strike one.
- 2:30:45Speaker 7: Jose Ramirez... has had 23 plate appearances in five games
- 2:30:52Speaker 7: in that number two spot, and he's been on base
- 2:30:56Speaker 7: 15 of the 23 plate appearances. Incredible. Now the 0-1,
- 2:31:03Speaker 7: and it's high, one and one to count. So Jose Ramirez,
- 2:31:07Speaker 7: who's now homered in two straight games, has a batting
- 2:31:11Speaker 7: average of 240, eight homers, 22 RBIs. The next pitch,
- 2:31:18Speaker 7: and it's high again. And the count, two balls and
- 2:31:22Speaker 7: a strike. Jose, also the best when it comes to
- 2:31:26Speaker 7: stealing bases with 20. And he kills Detroit. Now the
- 2:31:33Speaker 7: 2-1 in there. Jose Ramirez in his 14th year has
- 2:31:38Speaker 7: faced Detroit in 169 games, has 36 homers, 45 doubles,
- 2:31:41Speaker 7: 135 RBIs. The 2-2. Swing and a pop-up. This is playable.
- 2:31:53Speaker 7: And the first base side of the infield, midway between
- 2:31:57Speaker 7: first and second. Lee, the second baseman, retires Jose Ramirez.
- 2:32:02Speaker 7: So a couple of pop-ups to start tonight's ballgame. Two outs,
- 2:32:07Speaker 7: nobody on base. And that'll bring up Chase DeLauder in
- 2:32:12Speaker 7: this scoreless first inning. De Lauder batting 275. Seven homers.
- 2:32:18Speaker 7: Team high 30 runs batted in. The pitch. And it's
- 2:32:22Speaker 7: in there. A called strike on the curve. Riley Green
- 2:32:26Speaker 7: in left. Matt Bierling in center. Wenzel Perez in right. Montero.
- 2:32:34Speaker 1: The set.
- 2:32:35Speaker 7: The pitch. And it's high.
- 2:32:37Speaker 6: One and one.
- 2:32:38Speaker 7: Spencer Torkelson as at first. Our first look at how
- 2:32:42Speaker 7: you lead. At second, Zach Short. At short, the rookie
- 2:32:47Speaker 7: Kevin McGonigal at third, and the catcher Dylan Dingler.
- 2:32:51Speaker 1: Now the 1-1.
- 2:32:51Speaker 7: Up high, ball two, 2-1. No score first inning. Cleveland
- 2:32:58Speaker 7: a resounding 8-2 win last night. Guardians have won three
- 2:33:03Speaker 7: in a row, six out of seven. And in their
- 2:33:09Speaker 7: three-game win streak, They have scored 25 runs, eight runs
- 2:33:13Speaker 7: a game, 31 hits. The pitch, swung out a weak
- 2:33:17Speaker 7: chopper to the second baseman. Easy play for Lee, and
- 2:33:21Speaker 7: it doesn't get much easier than the first inning. Good
- 2:33:24Speaker 7: changeup from Montero. He will throw that a lot because
- 2:33:28Speaker 7: Cleveland is very susceptible to it. Guardians go in order.
- 2:33:33Speaker 7: Tigers coming to bat.

- 2:35:29Speaker 7: Rookie lefty Parker Messick delivering and Matt Veerling looking and
- 2:35:33Speaker 7: taking a called strike. Veerling homered last night. Messick, 6 feet, 232,
- 2:35:40Speaker 7: 25 years of age. The kick and the pitch. And
- 2:35:43Speaker 7: it's swung on, skied in the air to left, not
- 2:35:46Speaker 7: very deep. Camped under it is Stephen Kwan. And that
- 2:35:50Speaker 7: will be out number one. Got him on a good curveball. Well,
- 2:35:55Speaker 7: Parker Messick, as good a rookie pitcher as there is
- 2:35:58Speaker 7: in the game. Fastball, sinker, cutter, curve, slider, chain. Boy,
- 2:36:04Speaker 7: against his fastball and sinker, he has been dominant. Left
- 2:36:10Speaker 7: on left, here's a pair of rookies. Kevin McGonigal looks
- 2:36:13Speaker 7: at a called strike. Against the four-seam fastball, the opposition
- 2:36:19Speaker 7: batting 170 against Messick. McGonigal checks, takes a strike on
- 2:36:25Speaker 7: a breaking ball. And against Messick's sinker, teams are batting 172.
- 2:36:34Speaker 7: Now the 0-2 delivery. Kerr bounced it in there, 1-2.
- 2:36:39Speaker 7: And as always, Austin Hedges catching Parker Messick. The lefty
- 2:36:44Speaker 7: faced Detroit last year, lost it, giving up four runs
- 2:36:48Speaker 7: in five innings. Kevin McGonigal batting 291. A couple of homers,
- 2:36:55Speaker 7: 16 RBIs. The pitch to him, and he swings and misses,
- 2:36:59Speaker 7: and a strikeout for out number two. Parker Messick. As
- 2:37:06Speaker 7: Stephen Kwan behind him and left. Daniel Schneeman in center.
- 2:37:10Speaker 7: Angel Martinez in right. Kyle Manzardo at first. Travis Pazana
- 2:37:14Speaker 7: at second. Brian Rocchio at short. Jose Ramirez at third.
- 2:37:18Speaker 7: And Austin Hedges behind the plate. Two down for Jemai Jones.
- 2:37:24Speaker 7: The pitch. Curveball fouled back. Strike one. Jemai Jones, the DH.
- 2:37:30Speaker 7: Right-handed hitter batting 192. A couple of homers. Six RBIs.
- 2:37:36Speaker 7: Righties bat 217 against Messick. Lefties 174. The 0-1. Swing
- 2:37:45Speaker 7: and a miss. Fastball away.
- 2:37:46Speaker 10: 0-2.
- 2:37:48Speaker 7: Messick 5-1 with a. 235 ERA. Nine starts, no complete gains.
- 2:37:55Speaker 7: Six innings to start. Ten strikeouts, two walks per nine.
- 2:38:02Speaker 7: And the team's batting. 206 against him. The pitch. Down
- 2:38:07Speaker 7: in the dirt. One ball, two strikes. You look at
- 2:38:15Speaker 7: The fact he's given up 14 fewer hits than innings pitched,
- 2:38:19Speaker 7: he gives up about seven hits per nine innings. The pitch,
- 2:38:23Speaker 7: got him, swinging. Chase the changeup in the dirt. Jones
- 2:38:27Speaker 7: strikes out. Messick mows through the Tigers in a hurry.
- 2:38:31Speaker 7: Scoreless in Motown after one on the Cleveland Clinic Radio Network.
- 2:38:39Speaker 12: News Radio 570 WKBN Youngstown.
- 2:38:47Speaker 7: Kyle Manzardo, Travis Pazana, Angel Martinez all will bat left-handed
- 2:38:53Speaker 7: here in the second inning against the righty Cater Montero.
- 2:38:57Speaker 7: No score here in what is now an overcast and
- 2:39:02Speaker 7: threatening skies in downtown Detroit. Montero's pitch. Manzardo looks. Curveball strike. Well, Zach.
- 2:39:12Speaker 7: Poindexter of Medina. Here's our Conrad score for win for
- 2:39:16Speaker 7: new tires contestant. Montero's pitch. In there. Strike two. Zach
- 2:39:24Speaker 7: Poindexter of Medina trying to get the Bridgestone tires from
- 2:39:28Speaker 7: Conrad's Tire Express and Total Car Care. Visit econrads.com to enter. Manzardo.
- 2:39:36Speaker 7: 223 batting mark. Four homers. 16 RBIs. Went deep twice Sunday.
- 2:39:42Speaker 7: Takes a little bit high, one and two to go.
- 2:39:45Speaker 7: It's been tough to get Manzardo and Hoskins in the
- 2:39:51Speaker 7: lineup every day. Sharing first base. Now the one-two. Down
- 2:39:59Speaker 7: in the dirt, two and two, but manager Steven Boat
- 2:40:02Speaker 7: said tonight he wants to try to get them both
- 2:40:05Speaker 7: in the lineup at the same time more often. Both
- 2:40:11Speaker 7: starting to swing it well. And if you missed the
- 2:40:14Speaker 7: manager's show, Hoskins bringing so much leadership to this clubhouse.
- 2:40:19Speaker 7: Now the 2-2. Up high, full count. And Manzardo's been
- 2:40:24Speaker 7: locked in now for three weeks. This is a good
- 2:40:29Speaker 7: home run hitter's part if you're a pull hitter and
- 2:40:32Speaker 7: you're left-handed. Only 3.65 to right center. Now the pitch.
- 2:40:39Speaker 7: Swung and ripped up the middle. Base hit into right center.
- 2:40:42Speaker 7: Another good swing. Manzardo was down in the count 0-2.
- 2:40:47Speaker 7: Got the count to 3-2 and smoked it. Here's Travis Bazzana.
- 2:40:52Speaker 7: He's had five hits in the last two ballgames. Hitting
- 2:40:55Speaker 7: fifth tonight. Since Travis Bazzana joined this ball club and
- 2:41:01Speaker 7: Bazzana tonight playing in his 19th Major League team game,
- 2:41:07Speaker 7: Cleveland leading the major leagues in walks, averaging five walks
- 2:41:12Speaker 7: a game since Bozana came up from Columbus. The set
- 2:41:18Speaker 7: and pitch outside. It's not all Bozana, but boy, he
- 2:41:23Speaker 7: has led by example. Same number of walks as strikeouts.
- 2:41:30Speaker 7: He has an on-base percentage of 410. Now the 1-0,
- 2:41:36Speaker 7: and it's high, 2-0. And he's pushed the batting average
- 2:41:40Speaker 7: now to. 281 with a homer and seven RBIs. Outfield
- 2:41:46Speaker 7: plays him the other way toward left, medium deep. No
- 2:41:51Speaker 7: breeze now whatsoever and no more sunshine. The pitch. Up high, 3-0.
- 2:41:59Speaker 7: No score in the second inning. Marathon is here to
- 2:42:01Speaker 7: keep you and your team fueled all summer long. Marathon
- 2:42:05Speaker 7: driven together. Montero's ready, hands just below the chest. He
- 2:42:13Speaker 7: lets it fly, and it's in there, a strike, three
- 2:42:17Speaker 7: and one. Travis Pisano. He does not turn 24 until August.
- 2:42:30Speaker 7: Now the three-one. Check swing, did he go? Appeal at third,
- 2:42:35Speaker 7: he did not. He took a curve down low. How
- 2:42:38Speaker 7: about that for respect? Montero threw a 3-1 curveball to Bazzana,
- 2:42:42Speaker 7: and he walks again. And so for Travis Bazzana. He's
- 2:42:50Speaker 7: aboard with a walk, and now Cleveland's got two men on.
- 2:42:53Speaker 7: Nobody out. No score yet. And the red-hot Angel Martinez
- 2:42:57Speaker 7: batting left-handed. Tigers up at the corners. Can't imagine a bunt,
- 2:43:01Speaker 7: but he shows bunt. And he bunts it back towards
- 2:43:06Speaker 7: the first baseman. Torkelson slings it over to first. That's interesting.
- 2:43:13Speaker 7: So a perfect sack bunt. It goes 3-4 if you're scoring.
- 2:43:19Speaker 7: Martinez with an RBI in nine straight games laid down
- 2:43:23Speaker 7: the sack bunt. So Manzardo to third, Bazana to second.
- 2:43:28Speaker 7: And here's Stephen Kwan. He walked three times last night. Tigers,
- 2:43:35Speaker 7: middle infielders back. Up at the corners. The pitch. Kwon
- 2:43:40Speaker 7: sends one in the air. Medium deep center. Feerling camped
- 2:43:43Speaker 7: under it. Tagging at third, Manzardo. He's coming home. The
- 2:43:47Speaker 7: throw goes to third. 1-0 Cleveland. Tigers think he left early.
- 2:43:52Speaker 7: Throw to third. Did he leave early? The call is.
- 2:43:55Speaker 7: The umpires at home in third looking at each other.
- 2:43:58Speaker 7: You call it. No, you call it. Ron Culpa and
- 2:44:02Speaker 7: Tom Hanahan. Neither guy wanted to make the call. I
- 2:44:07Speaker 7: don't think either guy was looking. Bottom line, sack fly,
- 2:44:11Speaker 7: 1-0 Cleveland. So give Stephen Kwan RBI number 11. Manzardo
- 2:44:19Speaker 7: scored with the throw going to third. Lozano stayed put
- 2:44:23Speaker 7: at second. Now there are two men out. Catcher Austin
- 2:44:27Speaker 7: Hedges the batter. Montero delivering. Hedges fouling it back, strike one.
- 2:44:34Speaker 7: Now Cleveland's been doing all the little things, and lately
- 2:44:38Speaker 7: they're starting to get leads early and then starting to
- 2:44:42Speaker 7: separate as the game goes on, and that's why the
- 2:44:46Speaker 7: back end of the bullpen's in great shape for tonight's
- 2:44:49Speaker 7: game as far as rest. Now the 0-1 pitch. And
- 2:44:55Speaker 7: it's in there, a strike, 0-2. For whatever reason, Cleveland
- 2:45:05Speaker 7: now in the last ten games that they've played at Camerica,
- 2:45:08Speaker 7: they have gone 9-1. And they lead tonight 1-0. The
- 2:45:15Speaker 7: runner at second, two down in the second. And Cater
- 2:45:19Speaker 7: Montero ready to make the two-strike pitch to the Guardians catcher.
- 2:45:26Speaker 7: Here it comes. In the dirt, nice block by Dingler,
- 2:45:29Speaker 7: sliding to his right. One ball, two strikes. Cleveland, because
- 2:45:37Speaker 7: they're walking so much, getting on base so much, they
- 2:45:41Speaker 7: have now led the major leagues in runs scored.
- 2:45:45Speaker 1: Here in the month of May.
- 2:45:47Speaker 7: Averaging 5.5 runs a game. The 1-2 pitch to Hedges.
- 2:45:54Speaker 7: Swing and a ground ball wide at first. Backhanded by Torkelson.
- 2:45:57Speaker 7: Throws to the pitcher covering. And Montero beat Hedges in
- 2:46:02Speaker 7: a race to first. Boy, for a moment that looked
- 2:46:05Speaker 7: like it could be An infield hit. Not quite. Cleveland
- 2:46:10Speaker 7: leads 1-0, middle of inning number two.
- 2:46:14Speaker 38: Our yoga instructor challenged us to find inner peace.

- 2:47:59Speaker 12: News Radio 570 WKBN, Youngstown.
- 2:48:03Speaker 7: 1-0 Cleveland. Parker Messick facing the cleanup hitter, Dylan Dingler.
- 2:48:14Speaker 7: Right-handed hitting catcher. Rips it on one hop to third.
- 2:48:17Speaker 7: Backhanded by Ramirez. Throws over. One pitch, one out.
- 2:48:23Speaker 4: Rosie, you want to..
- 2:48:25Speaker 7: A telltale sign on how these two teams play the
- 2:48:29Speaker 7: game differently. Cleveland on that sack bunt that led to
- 2:48:33Speaker 7: a run. That was the team's ninth sacrifice bunt this year.
- 2:48:38Speaker 7: The next sack bunt that Detroit has will be their
- 2:48:41Speaker 7: first as Parker Messick faces Riley Green and pumps one
- 2:48:46Speaker 7: over but low ball one.
- 2:48:47Speaker 31: And I know there's varying pluses and minuses analytics wise
- 2:48:50Speaker 31: but I think team wise it creates a team atmosphere
- 2:48:53Speaker 31: when you can do those little things. Now the 1-0
- 2:48:56Speaker 31: pitch to Green, and it's wide. Detroit kind of lives
- 2:49:01Speaker 31: for the long ball, and right now they've hit the
- 2:49:03Speaker 31: third fewest home runs in the American League, which is
- 2:49:07Speaker 31: why they're 11th in the league in runs scored.
- 2:49:10Speaker 7: The pitch, in there. And Detroit does not do many
- 2:49:17Speaker 7: of those little things. Third fewest steals, no sack bunts.
- 2:49:23Speaker 7: Now the 2-1 pitch. A swing and a miss, 2-2.
- 2:49:27Speaker 7: Not saying it's right or wrong, but these clubs definitely
- 2:49:31Speaker 7: play the game in a different fashion. Messick not wasting
- 2:49:36Speaker 7: any time. The 2-2 to Riley Green. Down and away.
- 2:49:42Speaker 7: Riley Green's an example. Last year, Riley Green had 36 homers.
- 2:49:51Speaker 7: This year, four. Now the payoff pitch. Outside, he missed.
- 2:49:58Speaker 7: And Riley Green took the breaking ball and he's their
- 2:50:02Speaker 7: first base runner. A run-out walk for another guy that
- 2:50:06Speaker 7: you talk about has to get it going. Last year,
- 2:50:10Speaker 7: Spencer Torkelson, 31 home runs. This year, batting 191, 6 homers,
- 2:50:15Speaker 7: 17 RBIs. Tying run at first, one out, second innings.
- 2:50:24Speaker 7: Messick's ready.
- 2:50:25Speaker 1: Here it comes.
- 2:50:27Speaker 7: And it's swung on, hit high, and deep to left.
- 2:50:30Speaker 7: Kwon at the wall. It's gone. Now that's what Detroit
- 2:50:35Speaker 7: has to get. And Torkelson with a two-run home run
- 2:50:39Speaker 7: to left field. It's his seventh, and the Tigers have
- 2:50:44Speaker 7: a 2-1 lead here in the second inning. Sixth home
- 2:50:47Speaker 7: run given up by Parker Messick this year. And that
- 2:50:53Speaker 7: was a fastball, and Torkelson did not miss it. That
- 2:51:02Speaker 7: was inside off the plate, and Torkelson turned on it
- 2:51:07Speaker 7: in a hurry. Here's the switch hitting right fielder, Wenzel Perez.
- 2:51:13Speaker 7: He'll bat right-handed. He rips one to left. That's another
- 2:51:16Speaker 7: base hit. Toward the line cut off by Kwon. Spins,
- 2:51:20Speaker 7: throws to second. And a long single for Perez. So
- 2:51:24Speaker 7: three in a row a breach. A walk, a bomb,
- 2:51:28Speaker 7: a single. And this will be our first look at
- 2:51:33Speaker 7: the young middle infielder. How you lead. How you lead.
- 2:51:40Speaker 7: First year with the Tigers. He's out of Taiwan. Right-handed batter.
- 2:51:49Speaker 7: The pitch, and it's down low, curveball. Lee batting 196,
- 2:51:53Speaker 7: a homer, six RBIs. Tigers got him from the Phillies
- 2:52:01Speaker 7: three years ago when they traded Michael Lorenzen, a pitcher,
- 2:52:04Speaker 7: to Philly. Down the pitch. Swing on a changeup and
- 2:52:09Speaker 7: a fly ball right at the right fielder, Martinez. And
- 2:52:13Speaker 7: he'll pull it down. And Lee out number two. Two
- 2:52:17Speaker 7: to one Tigers. Runner first two down. Second inning. Here's
- 2:52:21Speaker 7: shortstop Zach Short. Now 0-4-11. Hey, when the Guardians win,
- 2:52:29Speaker 7: your Northeast Ohio Ford dealers donate $ 500 to Cleveland Guardians
- 2:52:34Speaker 7: Charities for Youth Sports. The lefty sets. Exhales. Delivers. And
- 2:52:41Speaker 7: he got a sinker strike in there to Short.
- 2:52:44Speaker 5: Who's 0-4-11.
- 2:52:47Speaker 7: With the Tigers. Right-handed hitter. The pitch, outside a changeup, 1-1.
- 2:53:04Speaker 7: Parker Messick, what a start to his career. Officially, he
- 2:53:10Speaker 7: is a rookie this season. The pitch, a swing and
- 2:53:14Speaker 7: a liner to third, caught by Ramirez. The inning is over,
- 2:53:18Speaker 7: but Spencer Torkelson with a two-run blast to left. Tigers
- 2:53:23Speaker 7: with a 2-1 lead on the Guardians after two on
- 2:53:25Speaker 7: the Cleveland Clinic Radio Network.
