- Lucas: Luna, welcome back to Learn Italian with Fexingo. Tonight, I thought we'd step outside again and look up at that winter sky. Luna: Oh, I love that. The sky was so clear last night, I couldn't stop looking at it. Lucas: It's a perfect night for it. And since we've been talking about winter skies for a few episodes, I thought we'd do a quick recap of our favorite phrases. Luna: Great, because I need the practice. I always mix up 'brillano' and 'limpido'. Lucas: Well, let's fix that. First phrase: guardo le stelle. Repeat after me: guardo le stelle. Luna: Guardo le stelle. That means 'I look at the stars'. Lucas: Exactly. And last night, when you looked up, did you see many stars? Luna: Yeah, so many. Le stelle brillano. Lucas: Le stelle brillano. The stars shine. You've got that one down. Luna: I do? Oh, that feels good. Le stelle brillano. They really did shine. Lucas: And the moon was full, right? La luna è piena. Luna: La luna è piena. Yes, the moon was full and bright. Lucas: Beautiful. Our next phrase is che notte serena. It means 'what a serene night'. Luna: Che notte serena. It sounds exactly like it feels. Lucas: It does. And finally, il cielo è limpido. The sky is clear. Luna: Il cielo è limpido. I always want to say 'limpido' with a smile. Lucas: That's the spirit. Now let's put them all together. Imagine we're standing outside, and I say, 'guardo le stelle'. You respond? Luna: Le stelle brillano. Lucas: And the moon? Luna: La luna è piena. Lucas: And the night? Luna: Che notte serena. Lucas: And the sky? Luna: Il cielo è limpido. Lucas: Perfect. You just described a whole starry night in Italian. Luna: It's like I was there. This is why I love this show. Lucas: And I love that you feel that way. You know, if Fexingo has been helping you make real progress with Italian, and you've enjoyed these little winter walks we've taken together, maybe you'd like to support us. Luna: Yeah, if this episode was worth a coffee to you, that would mean the world. Lucas: Just head to buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. It's a small way to keep the show free for everyone. Luna: And we appreciate every bit. Now, where were we? Oh, the stars. Lucas: Right, so let's try a tiny dialogue. I'll be the friend. I say, 'Guardo le stelle.' You say... Luna: Le stelle brillano. Lucas: Then I say, 'Che notte serena.' Luna: Il cielo è limpido. Lucas: Now try saying all five phrases in a row, slowly. Guarda le stelle. Le stelle brillano. La luna è piena. Che notte serena. Il cielo è limpido. Luna: Guardo le stelle. Le stelle brillano. La luna è piena. Che notte serena. Il cielo è limpido. Lucas: That was beautiful. You're really getting the flow. Luna: It helps that they're all so pretty. Like a poem. Lucas: And Italian is a poetic language. That's why we love it. Luna: So, next time I'm outside at night, I'll practice these. Maybe even whisper them to the moon. Lucas: The moon would appreciate that. And so would we. Remember, practice these phrases till we chat again. Luna: Yes, and thanks for listening to Learn Italian with Fexingo. See you next time.
