- 1:06[SPEAKER_00]: One of our members, by the way, on our discord only fins designed that dead cap dead hat
- 1:13[SPEAKER_00]: and we also have a Jacob Rodriguez T-shirt.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_00]: Check that out.

- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: So check that out.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_00]: All right, let's get into it.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm not going to
- 1:42[SPEAKER_00]: talk too much about rookie camp because I've said this before rookie camp is not that it's completely useless but it's essentially orientation.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_00]: The rookies are finding out where the cafeteria is or the bathroom is, you know, how to get fitted for their gear.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to get very, very, very bare bones basics.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe they're going to get some of the terminology.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_00]: They're not going to do any install whatsoever.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: That's going to come in the later OTAs headed right into camp.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_00]: So there's not much to glean from these days.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_00]: But the coaches do talk, you know?
- 2:25[SPEAKER_00]: And we did have Kevin Paturo speak about
- 2:29[SPEAKER_00]: Devon HN.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_00]: He said something very very curious.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_00]: He said when he's healthy.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: I think he missed boat because last we heard and last anybody has seen Devon HN showed up at the last organized team activity and he was fine.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_00]: It was a voluntary team activity but he was fine and he did do some cardio and he did work out that day.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_00]: And he has been in and around the team, although we do know he wants a new extension.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_00]: And I would guess you're not going to see too much of HN come training camp if they don't iron out that extension.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_00]: At some point, you got to pay him.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_00]: And he's kind of laid the conditions for this for getting paid and why wouldn't he, right?
- 3:19[SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't encourage anybody to just look at his numbers and compare them to any other running back in the history of this team.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: As there have been anybody better.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_00]: Ever.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_00]: It just hasn't been.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, I would suggest pay the man.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_00]: You waited this long, and now you're going to pay royally.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_00]: My guess is that it's going to be an excess of 18 million APY, and it's going to be a pretty fat guarantee.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_00]: I would say an excess of $45 million.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: But for a guy who is that consequential on the offensive end, I think it's a good deal.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_00]: I really do.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_00]: And quite frankly, you have nothing.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: You have nothing else on the offense, so it's going to start somewhere.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_00]: I did see the piece and I did see others completely take what Dan Grasiano said in his piece, completely out of context saying, oh yeah, the offense would trade him for a first one pick look.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_00]: They had an opportunity to do that, didn't do that.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, I also think it would be absolutely dumb to do that.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_00]: At some point, you got to retain some of your talent.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_00]: You just do.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_00]: At some point, you do have to retain some of your talent.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_00]: And by the way, uh, an accumulation of draft picks is a good thing, but guess what?
- 4:32[SPEAKER_00]: All those draft picks you got to pay.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_00]: And if you really accumulate a lot of first and second round picks, guess what?
- 4:36[SPEAKER_00]: Those are a lot of guaranteed dollars that you're pushing forward.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 4:40[SPEAKER_00]: I was to just retain some of your better young players, the one HNs 24 years old, I think it's absolutely plump dump to make a trade at this point in time.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's part of the future and look, this team has told some of these insiders and actually told us directly every time you've listened to John Erick Sullivan.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_00]: that Devon HN Jordan Brooks and Airon Brewer are not only part of the solution but the cornerstone players going forward.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_00]: Now I do expect Devon HN and Airon Brewer to have deals worked out sometime this summer and maybe sometime before training camp.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_00]: But as far as Jordan Brooks, I just don't see the numbers.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_00]: The numbers don't seem to be there for him.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_00]: Now, if they had it available, do I think that they would get something done?
- 5:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, of course.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't think you want to get rid of somebody like Jordan Brooks, because I think he's going to be an invaluable tool to bring along Jacob Rodriguez.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_00]: and I think with Jordan Brooks and Jacob Rodriguez I think you have something brewing there right and with and in that case you could see how Jacob Rodriguez can ease into Tyrell Dodson's role and move him out and then Tyrell Dodson becomes the expendable player for anybody that will in the throw you a day three pick because they took an injury in their lineback in court because Tyrell Dodson is still a very capable player.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_00]: but trading Jordan Brooks before the deadline, I think it's kind of productive as well.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_00]: I think they've built a very nice redundancy on this team.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_00]: If you look at it throughout, everybody pretty much has their mirror.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: If you look at it, if you pay attention to what they've had, like the League Washington has his Kevin Coleman.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_00]: Jacob Rodriguez has his Tyrell Dodson.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_00]: Like there's competition throughout the roster.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_00]: even came proctor.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_00]: Austin Jackson burned not slip and missed a couple of games and then then get it in their head that that maybe the kid in proctor era is going to begin a little sooner.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: Right?
- 6:52[SPEAKER_00]: Because if that does happen, you can see him go to right tackle and never give up that position again.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_00]: right?
- 7:03[SPEAKER_00]: And maybe Austin Jackson becomes expendable at the trade deadline.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_00]: So there's a lot of guys on this team that already have their mirror.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_00]: There is going to be plenty of, you know, they have some deficiencies on the roster, meaning, you know, they couldn't fill every single hole in one off season.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_00]: They have some roles that are essentially unoccupied right now, especially on defense.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_00]: On defense, the lack of five tech, they have no nickel whatsoever to speak of, they have no slot corner.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_00]: So these are things that they're going to have to...
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: find, right?
- 7:40[SPEAKER_00]: As far as any other news, yeah, we were met with the very big surprise, Levy Amos from Texas A&M, UDFA for the dolphins, has unexpectedly retired.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, Grand Opening Grand Closing on Levy Amos.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_00]: That was a player last year.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_00]: I thought he was going to
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I thought of the UDFA's he was going to be one of the brightest spots and the guy who had a real opportunity because when you talk about mirrors, look at Levy Moss's running style compared to Jaila Wright's very very similar in running style.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_00]: I think Levy Moss was essentially going to be Jaila Wright's mirror.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_00]: Now it's not, you know, it's now it's no longer.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 8:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's odd, you know, because, you know, he has had some injuries, he's had an injury history.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_00]: So we don't know if it's injury related somehow, but it's a shame because I think that this is a guy that was going to press for the back end of the running back room and now you're essentially left with nothing add there in that room, at least this last season.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_00]: And I would think that they're probably out on out in the market for a UDFA to plug in there.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_00]: There's a few guys that are like, I'm not sure if all wins of FIU, because John Owens has been signed anywhere yet.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: If not, he's a guy I would call, he's very similar in that regard, has good size, decent speed, didn't run great at his pro-day, I believe we ran 462 at his pro-day, so he's not a 45 guy, you know, not a 44 guy, but good size, good hands, good blocker also, so if he hasn't signed, I think he's a guy that I would be interested in and I believe that had some contact with him.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_00]: So we shall see in that regard,
- 9:37[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, that's a that's a pretty big surprise in my opinion we do have the schedule release on Thursday I encourage you to listen to this show only fins Q&A live on Thursday will have black seabull our annual show with black seabull we do go long on that episode
- 9:57[SPEAKER_00]: we will talk all kinds of sports media in that episode we get on once a year and he is a member of only friends it's one of the perks of becoming a member of only friends you have guys like this that you could bounce things off of you could ask questions of and interact with
- 10:13[SPEAKER_00]: he'll be with me on Thursday and we will talk about the schedule release as of right now we don't seem to have a lot of intel on what the dolphins I know there's a leak out there that says Miami's opening the season with the with jets we shall see I don't know if there's like like let's face it Miami is really not going to get a lot of prime choices so
- 10:38[SPEAKER_00]: Could it be without a Sunday night football game this year?
- 10:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_00]: I would say so.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_00]: Could they be without a Monday night football game this year?
- 10:46[SPEAKER_00]: Probably.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_00]: Could it be without a Thursday night football game?
- 10:50[SPEAKER_00]: Probably not.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_00]: That's one thing that they'll probably get because that doesn't seem to be like the NFL's prize property.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_00]: But it's going to be interesting and we will talk about all of these things on Thursday with like Sebo on our annual schedule show, which is a very well received show every single year once we produce it.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_00]: So see you then on Thursday.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to go to break right now when we come back, we will take all your questions.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_00]: But first, these words.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_00]: All right, and we are back.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_00]: All right, let's take the questions in the chat.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_00]: We have plenty of them.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_00]: First question, what happened to Levi and Moss boy?
- 11:29[SPEAKER_00]: We just spoke about that in the long ago.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_00]: It's odd, right?
- 11:32[SPEAKER_00]: I got to figure it's something indruber-related.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_00]: As far as a player, I find player last year for Texas A&M.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_00]: I was very surprised and I believe they were too that he was not drafted.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_00]: So, uh, it's, it's odd, but it puts them in a bit of a bind it because that running back room is, you know, it's looking unchanged and you want to add some competition to that room.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_00]: I think you want to add something to that room.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_00]: So I think you want to get out in the market for UDFA.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_00]: Do you want to vet?
- 12:07[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if you want a veteran.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, they're going to get some money here coming in the summer.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if you want a veteran.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_00]: I think you
- 12:16[SPEAKER_00]: You want to guide it, throw into the mix and try to challenge all the Gordon and Jalen right for snaps, because we do know that Devon H and it's going to get the bulk of them, right?
- 12:29[SPEAKER_00]: Next question, and what is expected to be a downier for the team?
- 12:32[SPEAKER_00]: What is a single positive stat on the off from such side and the defensive side that we should be paying attention to for signs of real improvement?
- 12:41[SPEAKER_00]: Great, great question.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_00]: on the defensive side is obvious right like you want to see the team get better on third down as the year goes on if this season this team is somewhere mid-pack on third down getting off the field on third down you could see how with added talent
- 13:05[SPEAKER_00]: and another offseason and another draft and another for agency period and a little bit more seasoning for these guys.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_00]: They could be in the top ten, top five, top six.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_00]: And if you're getting in the top five, top six, top ten on third down defense, you're going to be one of the better defenses in the league.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe they're going to give up points this year then not going to be very good.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_00]: They're not going to be a defense that's going to carry you
- 13:34[SPEAKER_00]: You know, they're down on talent pretty much across the board and they're missing guys to play roles on this team.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_00]: Now can you add an AJ Penessa what is that gonna help you by adding a five-tech type?
- 13:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, like that's something that's gonna help you.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_00]: But they need a slot corner, nickel corner, they don't have any of that stuff.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_00]: They're gonna try guys there that have never done it before at least never done it at this level, right?
- 13:58[SPEAKER_00]: So, that's one step that I would watch on the defensive side of the ball.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_00]: You want to see how this team progresses on third down all of season long.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_00]: An offensive, it's pretty simple.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_00]: Right, an offense, an offense that's short yardage, right?
- 14:14[SPEAKER_00]: You want to learn that Bobby Slowik is not, you know, is not Mike McDaniel's offensive coordinator, right?
- 14:26[SPEAKER_00]: He's not the Mike McDaniel of Mike McDaniels, because that's something that Mike McDaniel just could not figure out.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_00]: He just could not figure out
- 14:35[SPEAKER_00]: how to have either a philosophy or any kind of consistency on 30 short fourth in short.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_00]: So I guess you wanna see this team be good on in those situations, 30 short fourth in short.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, last year there was a time there, essentially to start the season, at least for the first four, five games, where the team was actually pretty damn good on 30 short and fourth in short, last season.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_00]: But by season's end, they were back to being what they've always been under McPyctanio.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_00]: So you want to see it improvement in that regard other than that, like look, you know, they're not going to score 30 points a game.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_00]: They're not going to score 24 points a game.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_00]: So they're not going to meet those metrics that you want to meet.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_00]: One of my favorite metrics is averaging three touchdowns per game.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_00]: So it's pretty simple.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_00]: How many games in the season 17, right?
- 15:26[SPEAKER_00]: Three touchdowns, 17 games, started.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_00]: That's 51 touchdowns.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_00]: If you could score 51 touchdowns in an NFL season, you have a reasonable expectation to have a top 10 offense.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_00]: So, can they score 51 touchdowns this coming season?
- 15:43[SPEAKER_00]: No, they're not going to.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_00]: They're not going to score 51 touchdowns.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_00]: So, as far as the offensive metrics that I like, I don't think they're going to meet any single one of them, because that would mean that they're actually a good team and they're not going to be a good team.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_00]: So, baby steps and where do I want to achieve those baby steps on 34th and 1?
- 16:02[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see how good they are in short yardage this coming season because I think that's something that's going to be important for them going forward.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_00]: But all the other metrics that I really care about on the offensive side of the ball, you know, 2,200 rushing yards in 17 games.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_00]: Can you meet that?
- 16:19[SPEAKER_00]: Like we meet in that, you're a top 5 running team.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_00]: That's not going to happen.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_00]: It's just not going to happen.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_00]: None of those metrics that pretend a good season are going to happen for this team.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_00]: So I say baby steps.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_00]: So back to what I said Darden's short fourth in short.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_00]: You want to see improvement in that regard because
- 16:42[SPEAKER_00]: You're not going to get those, you're not going to hit those benchmarks in any of those other stats that kind of leads to winning though you hit those benchmarks jump benchmarks in these other stats It's kind of pointing toward a 910 level one team and they're not going to be that so Baby steps third and fourth in short.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_00]: Let's figure that out All right Next question.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_00]: What do you think the identity of this Dolphins team is going to be under the new head coach and GM?
- 17:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they're going to run the football a lot
- 17:13[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're going to be playing.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to try to shorten games.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to try to rely on play action on offense.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_00]: It's something that Bobby Slough has always done.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_00]: And on defense, they're going to play a lot of zone.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to bring a lot of pressures on third down.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_00]: Like that should be their their identity.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_00]: Next question, which new player or second year do you think changes the team the most this season?
- 17:37[SPEAKER_00]: That's a good question.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_00]: Look, if Jacob Rodriguez is who I think he's going to be, hand paired with Jordan Brooks can really change the look of your defense, but I think if there's going to be a guy that's going to be impactful is kind of grand.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_00]: Not that he's going to have 10-12 sacks.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_00]: He could have 3-4 sacks.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_00]: but he could be a pretty impactful guy, occupying rushers.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_00]: I mean occupying blockers in the middle of the field that allows you past rush to get home.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_00]: So he could have a season where he's facilitating for everybody else, so he's my guy for this come to season and can't have great.
- 18:16[SPEAKER_00]: What's position group improved the most this off season?
- 18:21[SPEAKER_00]: And he writes other than KB.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not to show that KB improved either, but what position group actually improved?
- 18:30[SPEAKER_00]: I guess defensive tackles improved because they didn't add much there.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_00]: They added Renee Kanga.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_00]: I think Renee Kanga's a guy who could help toward the back, you know, he could help the back end of the defensive tackle room.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_00]: But as far as like improved, linebackers obviously improved.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_00]: right like that's obviously an improvement.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_00]: Safety hasn't really improved.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_00]: Cornerback really hasn't improved.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_00]: Edge hasn't improved.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_00]: Why receiver has an improved there's a bunch of ifs basically ever or I guess tight in because I'm a big fan of of Wilk has America.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_00]: Wilk has America.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_00]: I think is pretty much better than anybody that we had last year I understand damn well I had a productive season, but the next time down in Wall of Blocks anybody will be the first But he's a good, you know past receiving to that in but that's not who Wilk has America is as far as a blocker I think Wilk has America's better than anything that we had last year.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's better than Julian Hill
- 19:24[SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, not many position groups improved so far, which current Dolphins player benefits the most from the new coach who's that.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_00]: Chop Robinson, that's an easy one.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_00]: Chop Robinson's going to be used a lot in wide nine.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_00]: it's going to be something that's going to be right up his alley.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_00]: If it doesn't happen for Chop Robinson this year, if it if the light bulb doesn't turn on, then I'm sad to say it probably will never turn on and we start to inch toward Busteritor.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_00]: He cannot repeat the season he just had.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_00]: If Chop Robinson repeats the season he just had this coming season,
- 20:08[SPEAKER_00]: his exit.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_00]: You could start planning his exit from the roster for 2027.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that's who the scheme is going to benefit the most on defense.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_00]: What will success look like for this team in year one?
- 20:26[SPEAKER_00]: Look, the total is four and a half wins.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_00]: Can they beat that?
- 20:31[SPEAKER_00]: Can they get the five wins?
- 20:34[SPEAKER_00]: Can they get to six wins with Malik Wallace looking great?
- 20:37[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's like the, that's a great ceiling.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_00]: Forget eight or seven or eight or nine wins.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_00]: Like this team wins eight or nine?
- 20:48[SPEAKER_00]: Give Jeff Halfway the coach of the year.
- 20:51[SPEAKER_00]: But can they get to six with Malik Wallace looking dangerous?
- 20:55[SPEAKER_00]: And them looking competitive all year.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_00]: Can they win two games in the division?
- 21:01[SPEAKER_00]: You know, can you sneak a game off of the New England Patriots split with the jets?
- 21:07[SPEAKER_00]: Hell, can you win three games in the division?
- 21:09[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's asking a little bit too much.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_00]: But you want to look like something.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_00]: You want to look competitive.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_00]: You want to look hopeless.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_00]: All season.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_00]: You want to look dangerous.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_00]: And of course, if you could make the in the hunt graphic pop the balls of champagne.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_00]: Now.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think any of that's gonna happen.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're likely gonna be in that four to five win range.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's gonna be a lot of questions on my league with us at the end of the season.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_00]: I know we're gonna get a lot of answers, but I'm hoping for.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, it's me what to hope for and what success look like.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_00]: I guess it's that.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_00]: I guess it's...
- 21:45[SPEAKER_00]: hoping that Malik will us looks great and they surprise us somehow get to like six wins looked dangerous all year.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_00]: If they get in the in the hunt graphic somehow like you know that will be a massive success, a rousing success for the team.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_00]: Next question which rookie or under the radar player could surprise fans this season?
- 22:06[SPEAKER_00]: I think Chris Johnson, I think Chris Johnson could be really really good brought off the bat.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_00]: uh... what year to play makes the biggest leap i think jordan philips jordan philips can move from a specialist zero specialist to a guy who's going to play a lot of snaps can you play six hundred synapses here and play a good yeah i think that's that's a guy that you couldn't you can hope and wish for
- 22:30[SPEAKER_00]: Especially if they're going to ease Zach Sealer out on a trade come deadline day.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_00]: So you get rid of those those snaps yeah maybe Jordan Phillips is going to is going to fill that hole and give you a big you know snap count for the season where you're going to get a pretty good looking into this that okay this is a guy that's going to hit be here for the long run remember how old he is.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_00]: He's a baby, I believe he's what, 21 right now.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, next question, when people watch the offices season, what do you think will feel the most different?
- 23:05[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they're not going to be very, they're not going to be talked about as a playoff contender.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_00]: So that's going to be one major difference, right?
- 23:13[SPEAKER_00]: what's going to feel the most different is that on defense it's going to look more and more like the defense as you've seen be successful.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to be a defense that's going to not essentially dictate where the ball goes on offense.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_00]: But they're going to want you to push the ball down the field a little bit more.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to want you to try to make low percentage throws.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_00]: So they're going to look a lot more like those defenses you've seen that are successful, which is the opposite of Anthony, we ran.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_00]: Anthony, we were had a very, very conservative system.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_00]: He had a very conservative philosophy on defense.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_00]: He wanted to prevent big plays.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_00]: He wanted to prevent even attempts at big plays.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_00]: He wanted to do to matriculate that ball down the field.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_00]: Four or five yards out of time death by a thousand paper cuts, right?
- 24:04[SPEAKER_00]: This team will be different this team are gonna take they're gonna take pretty big swings on defense to try to get off the field They're gonna be much more aggressive Next question.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_00]: Why does everyone every talking head want to get rid of a chunk because they have nothing else better to talk about It's the dead part of the year, so they got to try to create a story where there is none, right?
- 24:26[SPEAKER_00]: Next question.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's a few more
- 24:29[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, what do you make of slow, insane, they are going across trinket and proctor at left tackle shouldn't they be preparing for him for Jackson's inevitable injury at right tackle?
- 24:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, right?
- 24:39[SPEAKER_00]: Like that's something that's odd to me.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_00]: I was surprised by that a little bit with slow being retained as the offense according to how much of last year's offense Do you see being held over now that our players have changed so much?
- 24:53[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think you can see too much of last year's offense.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_00]: I think this offense is gonna be it's gonna have those wide zone elements, but it's gonna be much more
- 25:02[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're going to sprinkle in some gap power scheme stuff in the run game and Slow-excidies as far as the passing game are very very different to what Mike McDaniel likes to do Was Caleb Doug was brought in so they can retain the plays that require a tiring speed element Yeah, you always need a guy with a speed element on this team.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_00]: By the way, Caleb Doug this is mirror is too too at well, right?
- 25:26[SPEAKER_00]: So you always need a guy who's going to run buddy routes who's going to run in a fast line in a fast straight line at least 10-12 times a game, right?
- 25:36[SPEAKER_00]: Can he run sprints consistently 10-12 times a game?
- 25:39[SPEAKER_00]: That's something that Caleb Doug was going to be important for if you want this offense to succeed in any such way.
- 25:48[SPEAKER_00]: you got to put pressure on on the safety.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_00]: You got to threaten vertically.
- 25:53[SPEAKER_00]: If you don't, it's going to have very, very crowded zones for Malik willus to throw into.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_00]: Speaking of Douglas any chance you see anything there where he could be special like they think eventually.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think so.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think early.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's he's essentially got drafted for a role.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, next question.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_00]: Any word on how and with whom Jonas of Ina has been working out in the offices and to become a possible card, uh, no idea.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_00]: I do know he's been in the, in the, in the, in the facility, often.
- 26:25[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_00]: Jacob Rodriguez can that punch out skill translate to the NFL.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_00]: That's something that everybody in the NFL implements tries to do.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_00]: Seems like the NFL guys better at holding on to the ball than college kids.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_00]: No, I think it's pretty much the same thing.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_00]: It's about surprise about sometimes it's about getting lucky.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_00]: But being aggressive with trying to take the ball out is important.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_00]: All right, two more questions.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_00]: It looks like a lot of teams that were interested in Caleb Douglas for a Shanna hands scheme teams.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_00]: Does he do anything that makes him a particularly good fit for the Shanna hands scheme?
- 27:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, most rock combinations in the Shanna hands scheme,
- 27:06[SPEAKER_00]: have a built-in buddy route that's essentially designed to do nothing but occupy space, meaning space vertically to try to create space underneath the throw the ball into windows that are opened up by guys going deep with a lot of speed that can threaten and occupy a safety.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_00]: That's what Doug was going to do.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_00]: That's what a lot of shenanigans systems try to do.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_00]: Was chop at rookie camp as the Miami social media was showing him or was that more stock fight is well He has been around the the facilities been working out So I don't think he was participating, but he's he's there He's been in the facility.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_00]: Do you see and this is gonna be the last one?
- 27:48[SPEAKER_00]: Do you see a realistic route for Malik to show that he can be the franchise quarterback while let's still getting a top three pick Yeah, look
- 27:57[SPEAKER_00]: The Sean Watson was on a 4 and 12 team and he had an MVP type season.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_00]: So it's possible to have, you know, I think well, it's good to have a monster season where you're competitive all year, but your defense is just not good enough and you keep falling short.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_00]: but at the end of the year you look at it like we know what if you only had some help on the defense side of the ball maybe if you only had another past target to throw two maybe of his offensive lines a little bit better maybe they didn't take so many injuries you know I know I'm talking about the excuses that could possibly come up
- 28:34[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, there is a route for Malik Willis to have a pretty good year and that team still only win four games.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_00]: Like that's a possibility.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_00]: It's happened before.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_00]: All right, we're going to call it right here.
