- 0:00Speaker 1: And welcome to a new episode of Scotty and Abby Unfiltered.
- 0:07Speaker 1: There's been so many things going on behind the scenes
- 0:10Speaker 1: that whether it's travel or me nearly being murdered in
- 0:13Speaker 1: the middle.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Of a Publix, We got to talk about some things.
- 0:16Speaker 3: Oh, no.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Well, I want to focus on you first, though.
- 0:19Speaker 3: I feel like we've been talking a lot about me.
- 0:21Speaker 3: I feel bad.
- 0:21Speaker 2: I know, but you, no, no, no. Your life is interesting.
- 0:23Speaker 1: My life is like, la-da-da, what did I do? I
- 0:25Speaker 1: cooked the crazy salmon at home.
- 0:27Speaker 3: Do you want to share the salmon recipe? The people
- 0:30Speaker 3: yearn for their omega-3s.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Well, here's the thing. I am not a cook, and
- 0:34Speaker 1: so I did share that video on Instagram.
- 0:35Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 0:36Speaker 2: And if you just go by it, you're like, okay,
- 0:38Speaker 2: here's another cooking video.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Y'all, the last time I tried to, like, make a meal, like,
- 0:41Speaker 1: I literally almost lit my house on fire.
- 0:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Like, that's the level of cooking I am. But it's
- 0:45Speaker 2: kind of.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Funny that— and this comes up in different ways. Like, as
- 0:49Speaker 1: you get older, new interests start to pop up. I've
- 0:52Speaker 1: started to appreciate, like.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Birds, for example, more. That's a stupid random one.
- 0:56Speaker 3: I have heard that as you get older, you start
- 0:58Speaker 3: to love birds. And I sort of wonder— because you know
- 1:00Speaker 3: how people compare— Or not compare. When somebody passes, they're like, oh, yeah,
- 1:04Speaker 3: I saw my Mimi in a blue jay. And you're like, what? Yeah,
- 1:08Speaker 3: blue jays was our thing or whatever. So I almost
- 1:10Speaker 3: wonder if it's like the closer you get to death.
- 1:12Speaker 3: Maybe this is morbid. Whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 1:14Speaker 4: I like this.
- 1:15Speaker 3: The closer you get to death, the more interested you
- 1:16Speaker 3: are in birds because like souls are birds.
- 1:18Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:19Speaker 3: I just think know so many people who view nature
- 1:22Speaker 3: as people who pass.
- 1:23Speaker 1: I do.
- 1:24Speaker 2: I definitely do. Like anytime I see like a butterfly,
- 1:26Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, that's a past. That's somebody I lost.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Or like a bird.
- 1:29Speaker 1: And here's the thing because it sounds so woo-woo. It's
- 1:32Speaker 1: how they fly around you or like when they pop
- 1:34Speaker 1: up because I'll be thinking about something and all of
- 1:36Speaker 1: a sudden it's like, oh, a butterfly will go by.
- 1:38Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, and it sounds woo woo and maybe
- 1:42Speaker 1: it has nothing to do with it. But that little belief,
- 1:45Speaker 1: it gives you a little bit of peace and you're like,
- 1:47Speaker 1: you know what? Even if it's nothing, I like to
- 1:49Speaker 1: think it's something. Yeah.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Why not have a little bit of peace?
- 1:52Speaker 3: If it keeps you going, then it keeps you going.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 1:54Speaker 2: And so that was something I noticed that I started
- 1:56Speaker 2: enjoying more.
- 1:57Speaker 1: But in this relationship with Brianda, all these new interests
- 2:01Speaker 1: start popping up. Like I've never had a desire to cook.
- 2:04Speaker 1: But all of a sudden there's like this charge in
- 2:06Speaker 1: me that's like, you need to learn how to cook.
- 2:08Speaker 1: You need to take care of your partner. She always
- 2:10Speaker 1: takes care of you. What could you whip up? What
- 2:13Speaker 1: kind of effort could you show? And so that's what
- 2:15Speaker 1: was happening. She was working late over at our station
- 2:17Speaker 1: over here, Fox 13. And so I was like, all right,
- 2:20Speaker 1: I'm going to have a dinner ready to go. And
- 2:22Speaker 1: thank goodness for my assistant, ChachiBT, because you ask it
- 2:26Speaker 1: anything and it's like, all right, Scott, I know you're
- 2:28Speaker 1: sucking at cooking. Here's the easiest recipe, but also it's
- 2:31Speaker 1: going to taste delicious. What I found funny, though, is
- 2:34Speaker 1: those little bits of effort in cooking go a long way.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Like I'm not somebody that chops up an onion or
- 2:40Speaker 1: a tomato or mince a garlic, but putting all that together.
- 2:44Speaker 1: And then I made a sauce. I looked at myself
- 2:47Speaker 1: at the end of it. I was like, who the
- 2:48Speaker 1: hell am I?
- 2:49Speaker 3: Come on, Guy Fieri.
- 2:50Speaker 2: Who am I becoming?
- 2:51Speaker 1: And I honestly, this is where I was like kind
- 2:53Speaker 1: of blown away. I enjoyed it. It wasn't like, oh,
- 2:57Speaker 1: I got to do this.
- 2:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:58Speaker 1: I was like, not only do I get to do
- 2:59Speaker 1: this for my partner, I actually enjoyed the process of cooking.
- 3:03Speaker 1: And it felt good to have that meal done at
- 3:05Speaker 1: the end of it and be like, look what I created. Yeah.
- 3:09Speaker 1: I'm not really like an artsy like draw, clay.
- 3:12Speaker 2: Paint, but maybe.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Maybe.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Maybe I'm becoming a cook.
- 3:15Speaker 3: There's a certain art to cooking.
- 3:17Speaker 1: There really is. I was in there listening to music,
- 3:19Speaker 1: stirring it up. The video's up on my Instagram, at
- 3:22Speaker 1: Scott Tavlin.
- 3:22Speaker 2: You can take a look.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Honestly, it came out as good as the picture looked
- 3:28Speaker 1: on ChatGPT.
- 3:28Speaker 3: Well, I'm glad that it worked out.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Thank you. That's what's been going on with my life.
- 3:32Speaker 3: Well, love that for you. So great.
- 3:36Speaker 2: It has not been the same since you got home.
- 3:38Speaker 3: No, no. But I feel I feel bad. I was
- 3:41Speaker 3: listening back because I always listen to podcasts back that
- 3:43Speaker 3: we do. And I've always described as sort of like
- 3:46Speaker 3: listening to an or watching an athlete. Like watching your highlights.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Yeah, like watching film.
- 3:51Speaker 3: And I'm like, God, some of the ones I put
- 3:52Speaker 3: out recently are just so... Well, I.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Mean, the whole point of this thing is like just
- 3:56Speaker 2: this is your experience.
- 3:57Speaker 3: I know, but.
- 3:57Speaker 2: There will be chapters of like lols and highs.
- 4:00Speaker 1: All of it.
- 4:00Speaker 3: But I hate that. I hate that people have to
- 4:01Speaker 3: listen to me be like wah-wah because I just do
- 4:04Speaker 3: not want to be the wah-wah girl. That's not who
- 4:06Speaker 3: I am.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Well, what's some things that are wee-wee?
- 4:08Speaker 3: Well, I got to go to Italy, but we talked
- 4:09Speaker 3: about Italy yesterday. I feel bad. I was like so
- 4:12Speaker 3: exhausted yesterday. I don't know why I've just been completely
- 4:15Speaker 3: wiped out from this trip, which I don't understand because
- 4:17Speaker 3: I slept more on this trip than I ever have.
- 4:19Speaker 3: On previous vacations, I slept a little bit on the plane.
- 4:22Speaker 3: I wasn't hungover. But I got home yesterday and I
- 4:25Speaker 3: went to go record my Substack Trampovay Thursday or Trampovay Monday. See,
- 4:29Speaker 3: I don't even know what day it is. Um, and
- 4:31Speaker 3: I was like, let me just put my head down
- 4:32Speaker 3: for a little bit cause I'm kind of tired. I
- 4:33Speaker 3: woke up, it was four hours later.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Oh my God.
- 4:35Speaker 3: Yeah. I was like, I don't know what happened, but, um,
- 4:37Speaker 3: I was knocked out for half the day yesterday.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Do you think it could be the fact that you
- 4:41Speaker 1: literally hosted an entire trip? Like, and I say that
- 4:43Speaker 1: not even like sarcastically, but like your energy is so
- 4:47Speaker 1: much of, how the group is going, where we're going next.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Like you're the one that's in charge of that group.
- 4:52Speaker 1: So I know for myself, when I go and I
- 4:54Speaker 1: speak at an event or I'm emceeing, I love it.
- 4:58Speaker 1: It's my passion and it's literally giving your 100% on hours.
- 5:03Speaker 1: And so as soon as I'm done, I'm like. drop
- 5:07Speaker 1: and I just pass out. I literally pass out for hours.
- 5:09Speaker 3: It's possible. This trip wasn't particularly stressful for me. I've
- 5:13Speaker 3: been in stressful situations. I always joke about Ferry Gate.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Ferry Gate was just such a tough day for me
- 5:18Speaker 3: last year because it was this day that we were
- 5:20Speaker 3: all waiting for where we were going to get to
- 5:21Speaker 3: go on a boat in Greece and then it turned
- 5:22Speaker 3: out to be a ferry. And I don't know if
- 5:24Speaker 3: you've ever been surrounded by 24 angry women, but just
- 5:26Speaker 3: like not the vibe. And I'm kind of overreacting, but
- 5:31Speaker 3: like it was just I would it was from that
- 5:34Speaker 3: moment on that I was like, I never want to
- 5:35Speaker 3: feel that way on a trip. So I was very
- 5:37Speaker 3: excited going into Italy because I just worked. I. I
- 5:40Speaker 3: really did a lot of mental gymnastics thinking about how
- 5:43Speaker 3: I could engineer the perfect itinerary. And I really do
- 5:45Speaker 3: think I got close. Like, if I had to rate myself,
- 5:48Speaker 3: this was probably like a 92% on the perfect scale.
- 5:51Speaker 2: That's damn good.
- 5:52Speaker 3: I'm constantly on the pursuit of perfecting the girls trip.
- 5:55Speaker 3: And this, I think, is the closest I've gotten. But
- 5:57Speaker 3: I still think there are things I would like to
- 5:59Speaker 3: socially engineer for the next ones.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Oh, I like that.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Because you do get to learn how a group... It's
- 6:04Speaker 1: like psychology. How does the group function and what can
- 6:06Speaker 1: I get the most... Honestly, I love doing that with
- 6:09Speaker 1: like when I go out to these events, using that
- 6:11Speaker 1: little bit that you learn from a group, like how
- 6:13Speaker 1: can I get them at their peak moment? How can
- 6:15Speaker 1: I make sure that having the best time or their
- 6:17Speaker 1: energy is at the absolute highest point? Yes. And it
- 6:20Speaker 1: kind of sounds like it sounds wild because it sounds
- 6:22Speaker 1: like you're manipulating.
- 6:23Speaker 3: No, it's like being a DJ. Sort of like how
- 6:25Speaker 3: like when do I get the beats? When do I
- 6:26Speaker 3: get the energy on certain days? And you can never
- 6:29Speaker 3: really you can get as close as you can based
- 6:32Speaker 3: off the only match. like the math you're doing in
- 6:34Speaker 3: your head, but also then you get a group of
- 6:36Speaker 3: girls that you've never met before. Some of them you
- 6:38Speaker 3: have met before, but then you also don't know how
- 6:40Speaker 3: they're going to interact with other girls. And this group definitely,
- 6:44Speaker 3: and when I say behaved, I don't mean it in
- 6:46Speaker 3: like a condescending way. This group had different social, um,
- 6:51Speaker 3: I'll use the word behave, but that sounds like really condescending.
- 6:53Speaker 3: It had different behaviors than I was anticipating.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 6:57Speaker 3: On a lot of my trips, a lot of the
- 6:58Speaker 3: girls like want to go out, go out, go out,
- 7:00Speaker 3: go out.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Party, party.
- 7:01Speaker 3: Party, party. This was not a very party. The last
- 7:03Speaker 3: couple trips I've had have not been very party, party,
- 7:05Speaker 3: which is fine.
- 7:06Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 7:07Speaker 3: But this trip was engineered that if you wanted to party, party,
- 7:10Speaker 3: you could. And this specific city wasn't super party, party.
- 7:14Speaker 3: And this group wasn't specific party, party. So I'm like, okay,
- 7:16Speaker 3: maybe my quote unquote clientele is changing and I need
- 7:19Speaker 3: to now pivot to where it's more. less about going
- 7:23Speaker 3: out at night. They like more cocktail bars than pubs.
- 7:25Speaker 3: And maybe it's just because there were no pubs that
- 7:27Speaker 3: were super rowdy. typically we'll find a place that's really
- 7:31Speaker 3: fun to dance at. And that's why girls like to
- 7:33Speaker 3: stay out super late. We couldn't really, we didn't really
- 7:35Speaker 3: find that when we were in Sorrento, unfortunately.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Yeah. I haven't known of that place to be like
- 7:38Speaker 1: a going out late kind of spot.
- 7:40Speaker 3: And they, they definitely do have places like we found
- 7:43Speaker 3: one club towards the end of the, the trip. We
- 7:46Speaker 3: found a couple of pubs that were fun, but we
- 7:49Speaker 3: didn't quite catch our stride in the nightlife. And I
- 7:51Speaker 3: think that has a little bit to do with just
- 7:53Speaker 3: the crowds I'm attracting are a little bit more mature.
- 7:56Speaker 3: Not that, listen, I like to go out. So I'm
- 7:57Speaker 3: not saying if you do like to go out, it's immature,
- 7:59Speaker 3: but like more of the girls really love a cocktail
- 8:02Speaker 3: bar and finding.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:03Speaker 2: We could sit and have a conversation over a nice martini.
- 8:06Speaker 3: So now I can move that. I can take that
- 8:08Speaker 3: moving forward to be like, okay, the girls more like
- 8:10Speaker 3: they like more of a cocktail vibe rather than a pub.
- 8:13Speaker 1: I like, you know, what's different though, is sometimes you
- 8:16Speaker 1: go on these trips and you could just tell that
- 8:18Speaker 1: the people that put it together, they put no energy
- 8:20Speaker 1: into it.
- 8:20Speaker 2: They put no effort.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Like you're putting a lot of effort To make sure
- 8:23Speaker 1: that it fits the vibe of what your people want.
- 8:25Speaker 3: Yeah, because, I mean, I'm on the trip, too. I
- 8:26Speaker 3: want to have a good time.
- 8:27Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 8:28Speaker 3: So if I don't have a good time, like, is
- 8:29Speaker 3: anybody else going to have a good time? And so, yeah,
- 8:32Speaker 3: with this trip, and I talked a little bit about
- 8:33Speaker 3: this on my sub stack of the things I want
- 8:35Speaker 3: to change. Or not change, but there's just things I'm
- 8:38Speaker 3: going to pivot to moving forward. But, yeah, every group
- 8:40Speaker 3: is different. Every city is different. It teaches you something
- 8:43Speaker 3: different about yourself. your organization business to an extent. So yeah,
- 8:49Speaker 3: I'm excited because now I'm planning for 2027. I'm like,
- 8:51Speaker 3: where do I want to go next? That's the hard thing.
- 8:53Speaker 3: I'm like, I don't want to pick the wrong destination
- 8:55Speaker 3: that nobody wants to go to.
- 8:56Speaker 1: That's, I mean, you could almost, maybe you don't want to,
- 8:59Speaker 1: but you could repeat some of these places where it's,
- 9:01Speaker 1: some people are seeing the trip and they're like, I
- 9:02Speaker 1: want to go on that next.
- 9:03Speaker 2: Like seeing the Amalfi Coast, I was like, I want
- 9:05Speaker 2: to go on to that next.
- 9:06Speaker 3: I'm like, I want to go on to next. Like
- 9:08Speaker 3: literally if I could repeat, I think I would do
- 9:10Speaker 3: some things differently. I don't know. I liked being based
- 9:13Speaker 3: in Sorrento cause it's the bigger city close and like,
- 9:16Speaker 3: it's a good place to be based. Um, but I
- 9:19Speaker 3: think if I was going to do it again, maybe
- 9:21Speaker 3: I'd do it again, but a little bit bougier. Like
- 9:23Speaker 3: maybe I'd pick a nice hotel in Amalfi or I
- 9:28Speaker 3: didn't really like Positano, but Positano does have good nightlife.
- 9:31Speaker 3: So I do wonder, I'm like, would it have been
- 9:33Speaker 3: better to be based in Positano? So, we could have
- 9:36Speaker 3: some of those more unifying moments on nights out. I
- 9:38Speaker 3: don't know. Um, so yeah.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Do you think you're going to be doing more trips
- 9:42Speaker 1: as the years go on? Like, has it always been,
- 9:45Speaker 1: cause what has it been this year? Has it been
- 9:46Speaker 1: two trips?
- 9:47Speaker 3: I did one in December. I did one in January
- 9:51Speaker 3: and then you did the one here and then I
- 9:54Speaker 3: did the Tampa one and then I did this one.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Wow. Okay.
- 9:56Speaker 3: So you had three, so I had three. And so I,
- 9:58Speaker 3: kind of want to add on a trip every year.
- 10:00Speaker 3: So I'm like, I'll do four next year, I think.
- 10:02Speaker 1: You're just going to be living on the road.
- 10:04Speaker 3: I'm just going to be living on the road.
- 10:05Speaker 2: Sounds amazing.
- 10:06Speaker 1: No, I mean, yeah.
- 10:07Speaker 3: As long as people keep signing up, I'll keep doing it.
- 10:09Speaker 3: And I think this trip went well enough that I
- 10:11Speaker 3: think some people will come back, which is why I'm
- 10:12Speaker 3: not going to immediately repeat the Amalfi Coast. Some places
- 10:16Speaker 3: that I'm thinking about. I, I like if I had
- 10:19Speaker 3: it my way, like if every, if we were just
- 10:21Speaker 3: going to take the same group and do everything again
- 10:22Speaker 3: and everyone's going to come back again, I would like
- 10:25Speaker 3: to do the South of France. Um, cause I think
- 10:28Speaker 3: it's similar to the Amalfi coast, but a little bit different.
- 10:31Speaker 3: Like it, it'll have similar vibes to the trip we
- 10:33Speaker 3: just went on, but different scenery. That makes sense. And
- 10:36Speaker 3: I really liked the trip that we went on. So
- 10:37Speaker 3: I'm like, let's just do that again. But in France, um,
- 10:39Speaker 3: I put out a survey yesterday. I can pull it up. Um,
- 10:41Speaker 3: cause I was asking some of my travelers, I'm like,
- 10:43Speaker 3: where would you want to go next year?
- 10:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:45Speaker 2: And a good gauge of it.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Cause I saw a couple of people before you went
- 10:47Speaker 1: and you did a little, ask me anything on instagram
- 10:49Speaker 1: yes yes a lot of the the gays were like
- 10:51Speaker 1: ah hello.
- 10:52Speaker 3: The gays want to go but i'm trying to figure
- 10:54Speaker 3: out how to make that work logistically because i have
- 10:56Speaker 3: a lot of like legal paperwork oh that is like
- 10:59Speaker 3: more forward-facing for a girl's trip i'm like i gotta
- 11:02Speaker 3: change that and you.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Gotta get the lawyers involved i gotta get the lawyers
- 11:04Speaker 1: involved think about all these things that get involved with this.
- 11:06Speaker 3: Yeah trust me your girl is prepared so anyway one
- 11:09Speaker 3: of the questions i asked my repeat travelers was so
- 11:12Speaker 3: what places do you want to travel to in the
- 11:13Speaker 3: next two years and so here's what they said One
- 11:16Speaker 3: person said Switzerland and France, which is great because those
- 11:18Speaker 3: are the two that are on my bucket list. I
- 11:20Speaker 3: would like to do Switzerland and I would like to
- 11:21Speaker 3: do South of France. Someone said anywhere in France, London,
- 11:25Speaker 3: Martha's Vineyard, which I think I'll do.
- 11:28Speaker 1: I've heard so many things about Martha's. Okay, so that's
- 11:30Speaker 1: in Nantucket. Because I've heard it, but I don't know
- 11:32Speaker 1: what it is. Is it literally just a vineyard?
- 11:34Speaker 3: So Martha's Vineyard is just the name of another island.
- 11:37Speaker 3: So Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, and is there another one?
- 11:39Speaker 1: I can't remember.
- 11:40Speaker 3: Or like Cape Cod. There are two islands right off
- 11:42Speaker 3: the Cape.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Gotcha.
- 11:44Speaker 3: Scottsdale is like a very fun Bachelorette vibe. Someone said Scottsdale.
- 11:48Speaker 3: I would like to do Sedona, which is outside of Scottsdale.
- 11:51Speaker 3: I think actually that would be really, really fun is
- 11:53Speaker 3: to be... to do like a couple fun party nights
- 11:56Speaker 3: in Scottsdale and then do like a wellness retreat in Sedona.
- 11:59Speaker 2: Look at you. You are getting earthy over here.
- 12:01Speaker 3: Well, I mean, I would, I would like to do that.
- 12:03Speaker 3: That would be an expensive trip. So that might have
- 12:05Speaker 3: to be a 2028. Yeah.
- 12:07Speaker 2: 2028.
- 12:08Speaker 3: Um, two people actually said Croatia, which I thought was
- 12:10Speaker 3: interesting because I considered Croatia, but I didn't know if
- 12:13Speaker 3: people would be excited enough to go to sign up. Yeah.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Like it sounds cool, but Over Italy?
- 12:18Speaker 2: I don't think so.
- 12:19Speaker 3: Well, not over Italy. I don't know about over France.
- 12:21Speaker 3: But some people have already been to France. They're like, well,
- 12:23Speaker 3: I want to go somewhere different.
- 12:24Speaker 2: That's true.
- 12:25Speaker 3: Someone said Brazil, Switzerland again, and then Australia, New Zealand.
- 12:29Speaker 1: Oh, man, that'd be a big trip. That'd be a
- 12:30Speaker 1: big trip. That would be crazy.
- 12:32Speaker 3: Someone said England, Spain. I almost did a trip to
- 12:35Speaker 3: Barcelona this year, but the company I was working with
- 12:37Speaker 3: just kind of fumbled the bag, quite honestly. Germany, I'd
- 12:42Speaker 3: be interested to see some castles.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Oh, that would be nice.
- 12:45Speaker 1: I've heard Germany is very pretty.
- 12:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I would like to do Christmas markets in Germany.
- 12:48Speaker 1: That's what I had friends that did that, and they
- 12:50Speaker 1: loved it.
- 12:52Speaker 3: The problem is with Christmas markets is you have to
- 12:54Speaker 3: plan them super far in advance. So... I saw that
- 12:57Speaker 3: and I was like, maybe we should do Germany in
- 12:58Speaker 3: December because I'm not going to Quebec City anymore this year.
- 13:00Speaker 3: I'm going to wait until next year.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Oh, gotcha.
- 13:02Speaker 3: I'm like, maybe we should do that. But then I
- 13:04Speaker 3: remember last year trying to plan that and you couldn't
- 13:05Speaker 3: do it this late.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Oh, wow.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Because it's already, what is it, just booked up?
- 13:08Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah. You have to do it like a year
- 13:10Speaker 3: in advance.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Oh, my God. I know.
- 13:11Speaker 3: It's so annoying.
- 13:12Speaker 2: See, I was thinking about where I wanted to travel next.
- 13:15Speaker 1: And we're doing, so my girlfriend and I, we decided,
- 13:18Speaker 1: I think I said that, we're doing Mexico in January.
- 13:21Speaker 3: No, no, you didn't tell me that.
- 13:22Speaker 1: We're doing the wellness retreat together.
- 13:24Speaker 3: Oh, yes, you did tell me that, yeah.
- 13:25Speaker 1: So last year I went to El Salvador. I convinced
- 13:28Speaker 1: her to come along with me so we could go
- 13:29Speaker 1: on the ayahuasca trip together.
- 13:31Speaker 3: Love that. Nothing like getting high with your lady.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Going on a trip. Super pumped for that because I
- 13:36Speaker 1: think that's going to be an awesome opportunity to just
- 13:39Speaker 1: fully disconnect.
- 13:40Speaker 3: A trip on a trip.
- 13:41Speaker 2: A trip on a trip.
- 13:42Speaker 1: And then I don't believe we have anything else planned
- 13:45Speaker 1: for 2027.
- 13:46Speaker 2: You got to.
- 13:47Speaker 3: Use that, that timeshare.
- 13:49Speaker 1: Well, here's actually why I bring it up because I,
- 13:51Speaker 1: I'm hoping, I don't know. I think either my ex
- 13:55Speaker 1: still listens to this or maybe doesn't, but like she
- 13:58Speaker 1: hasn't charged me for the last month. So either I'm
- 14:02Speaker 1: not on duty for paying that thing anymore.
- 14:04Speaker 2: And like, we've come to grips that this is yours.
- 14:06Speaker 2: I don't want to be on it.
- 14:07Speaker 3: But don't you want to return on your investment though?
- 14:09Speaker 3: Like you don't want to go on any vacations that
- 14:11Speaker 3: you got.
- 14:12Speaker 2: You want to, you want me to be honest? I'm
- 14:13Speaker 2: good walking away.
- 14:14Speaker 3: Really? Yeah.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Yeah. Cause it's just like one of those things where
- 14:17Speaker 1: I'm like, that's a mistake. I learned my lesson.
- 14:20Speaker 2: I will walk away.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:21Speaker 2: It's like the thing with like, it's like the dog.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Like I am now, like I haven't seen, you know,
- 14:26Speaker 1: the dog that I was like helping raise in months.
- 14:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:31Speaker 1: And, honestly, that's for the best. And I was thinking
- 14:34Speaker 1: about it. I was like, gosh, man, that's tough. And
- 14:36Speaker 1: I know that's not my dog anymore. And I also
- 14:38Speaker 1: have to do this for myself of like, I have
- 14:39Speaker 1: to walk away because it gets, it's just hard. Like
- 14:42Speaker 1: I care for the animal. I care about the money
- 14:44Speaker 1: that I lost and the best thing I can do
- 14:47Speaker 1: to help heal up some of those wounds.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Just walk away.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:50Speaker 2: Let that money be gone.
- 14:51Speaker 3: Okay.
- 14:51Speaker 2: It's frustrating because I'm like, damn it, man. I really
- 14:53Speaker 2: wanted to use it.
- 14:54Speaker 3: I think she just forgot though.
- 14:55Speaker 2: I do too.
- 14:56Speaker 1: Like, I think it's going to be one of those
- 14:57Speaker 1: things where it's like, oh, but I don't know though.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Cause you get that hit on your credit card. You
- 15:01Speaker 1: look for the person that's going to help pay half
- 15:03Speaker 1: of it.
- 15:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Because that was the only hard conversation I have left.
- 15:08Speaker 1: Like so far on the podcast, I've talked about like
- 15:10Speaker 1: how I've had to step away from the Alaska ship
- 15:13Speaker 1: that was over the summer. I've had to have a
- 15:17Speaker 1: big conversation with a friend that, About like why we
- 15:19Speaker 1: haven't been talking. I had to message a friend about
- 15:22Speaker 1: a wedding that I'm going to. The last message I
- 15:25Speaker 1: have is like figuring out this vacation club. And just
- 15:28Speaker 1: saying I want to walk away. And I need to
- 15:30Speaker 1: find a way that we can do it like.
- 15:31Speaker 2: What's the word?
- 15:32Speaker 1: Amicably.
- 15:33Speaker 3: Amicably.
- 15:34Speaker 1: That one. Yeah.
- 15:35Speaker 2: I want to be able to just be like I'm
- 15:36Speaker 2: walking away. I don't want any part of it anymore.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Does because technically I could I could just never pay
- 15:43Speaker 1: again that's the effed.
- 15:44Speaker 3: Up thing to do yeah but you're not gonna do
- 15:46Speaker 3: that I'm not.
- 15:46Speaker 1: Yeah that's not me I will continue paying if that's
- 15:49Speaker 1: the route that we need to go down I just
- 15:51Speaker 1: really rather not I rather not even have anything to
- 15:53Speaker 1: do with it lose my money take all the vacations
- 15:55Speaker 1: that you want using that package because I'm not using
- 15:57Speaker 1: it I'm literally going on other trips that I'm not
- 15:59Speaker 1: using it so that's kind of dumb I know so
- 16:02Speaker 1: that's the last conversation I need to have but if
- 16:05Speaker 1: all goes through like I haven't gotten a request and
- 16:08Speaker 1: we are like halfway in the month Okay. So I'm
- 16:10Speaker 1: kind of looking at it as like maybe we came
- 16:12Speaker 1: to grips without even having to talk.
- 16:13Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Let's just ignore it. That'll work. That's
- 16:16Speaker 3: always a good plan.
- 16:17Speaker 1: No, I'm sure we'll have a conversation for it. And
- 16:20Speaker 1: there's no beef. I think that's the biggest thing. I
- 16:22Speaker 1: don't want that to be something that's thought of like
- 16:25Speaker 1: there's bad blood between. No, there's not. I just go
- 16:27Speaker 1: separate ways.
- 16:28Speaker 3: No, I was talking to your ex while I was
- 16:30Speaker 3: on vacation in Italy because she posted about Drew and
- 16:32Speaker 3: Melody from Big Brother.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:36Speaker 3: She posted about them and I was like, oh my God, finally.
- 16:38Speaker 3: I thought it was just me on TikTok watching these two.
- 16:40Speaker 1: So what, you reached out to her?
- 16:42Speaker 3: Well, no, I just like swiped up. I was like,
- 16:43Speaker 3: oh my God, I love them. And she doesn't like them.
- 16:45Speaker 3: And so I was like, oh, end of conversation. But
- 16:48Speaker 3: if you haven't been watching Big Brother, which I've only
- 16:50Speaker 3: been watching it through TikTok, there's these, it is the
- 16:53Speaker 3: buzziest thing I've ever seen. It's these two house guests
- 16:57Speaker 3: on Big Brother, which if you don't know what Big
- 16:58Speaker 3: Brother is, I don't really know what Big Brother is.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Nobody does.
- 17:01Speaker 3: It's like 20 people. They put them in a house
- 17:03Speaker 3: and somebody gets like a million dollars at the end.
- 17:05Speaker 3: So they're just sitting in this house for months on end.
- 17:07Speaker 3: And there's these two house guests that are trying to
- 17:10Speaker 3: not have a showmance because apparently that's not good for
- 17:12Speaker 3: your gameplay. And so they're just in this situationship where
- 17:15Speaker 3: they won't kiss, but they're just kind of like yearning
- 17:18Speaker 3: for each other. It is the most romantic shit I've
- 17:21Speaker 3: ever seen in my life.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Really?
- 17:24Speaker 3: Yes, it is. So I have never seen such earnest
- 17:29Speaker 3: desire for someone, but it's not like sexual. It's just
- 17:32Speaker 3: like It's just so pure. It is just the definition
- 17:35Speaker 3: of a situation. Like, you know when you're just dating
- 17:37Speaker 3: someone and, like, all you really do is just, like,
- 17:38Speaker 3: hang out at your house and just sort of, like,
- 17:41Speaker 3: kind of mess with each other? That's what they're doing.
- 17:42Speaker 1: It's so.
- 17:43Speaker 3: it's cute to watch like they're just precious.
- 17:45Speaker 1: Like you could tell like it's not even just like
- 17:47Speaker 1: a friendship like there's such flirtatious.
- 17:49Speaker 3: Energy great tension flirtatious energy.
- 17:52Speaker 1: It's precious do you know how you win that game
- 17:54Speaker 1: because no it's your idea that's what i'm saying like
- 17:56Speaker 1: if there's a million dollars on the line like how
- 17:58Speaker 1: do you win big brothers like people vote to keep
- 18:01Speaker 1: you in a house.
- 18:02Speaker 3: Um i don't know you do when i tell you
- 18:04Speaker 3: i'm literally just watching edits of melody and drew I'm
- 18:06Speaker 3: telling you, if you're like a book talk romance girly,
- 18:08Speaker 3: please look it up on TikTok. It is the buzziest
- 18:10Speaker 3: thing I've ever seen.
- 18:11Speaker 2: Why don't you just get the, what is it on?
- 18:13Speaker 2: Like Peacock?
- 18:14Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 18:14Speaker 3: I don't want to watch that. I just want to
- 18:16Speaker 3: see the parts that I want to see.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Oh, I guess.
- 18:18Speaker 3: Which is them just being cute and romantic.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Oh, that's the story that you just want to hold
- 18:21Speaker 1: to yourself.
- 18:22Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't care about anybody else.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Yeah, the rest of the show is probably not that good.
- 18:24Speaker 3: This is better than Love Island was.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Oh my God.
- 18:27Speaker 3: Yeah, it's so romantic.
- 18:28Speaker 1: It's ridiculous. Do we know if those couples are still
- 18:30Speaker 1: like together?
- 18:31Speaker 2: I haven't seen anything.
- 18:31Speaker 3: I think so. I haven't seen any big breakups yet.
- 18:34Speaker 1: But I also haven't seen anything with, like, the couples
- 18:36Speaker 1: in general. Like, it felt like that.
- 18:37Speaker 2: Again, I wasn't really in the world much.
- 18:39Speaker 3: I'm sure they have a year-long PR contract.
- 18:42Speaker 2: Yeah, that sounds about right.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Like, stay together for a year, show that the show works,
- 18:46Speaker 1: and then you guys can go your separate ways. Which,
- 18:48Speaker 1: I mean, I get it. Shows need to do what
- 18:50Speaker 1: they need. But that saying was fucked up. I don't know.
- 18:53Speaker 2: I wouldn't want to risk my... I don't know. I
- 18:55Speaker 2: guess you could.
- 18:56Speaker 1: A year with somebody that you truly don't want to
- 18:57Speaker 1: be with for... What did they make? Like, $ 500, 000? $ 100, 000?
- 19:00Speaker 2: $ 100, 000?
- 19:01Speaker 3: Are we talking about Big Brother or are we talking
- 19:03Speaker 3: about Love Island?
- 19:03Speaker 2: Love Island.
- 19:03Speaker 3: You don't have to be with.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Them, though.
- 19:05Speaker 3: Like, you can break up at any point.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Oh, okay. So I guess if you win and you're
- 19:10Speaker 1: just like, all right, well, we won the game. We
- 19:13Speaker 1: beat the system.
- 19:14Speaker 3: Well, it's a good way to get brand deals if
- 19:15Speaker 3: you stay together.
- 19:16Speaker 1: That's what it is.
- 19:16Speaker 3: That's why people stay together. But, I mean, think about it.
- 19:19Speaker 3: If you're in a situationship with someone and you're making
- 19:21Speaker 3: money because you're with them, it's, like, more incentive to stay.
- 19:24Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true.
- 19:25Speaker 1: You'll make more money together. I have a friend I
- 19:26Speaker 1: was talking to who just moved. And his girlfriend is
- 19:29Speaker 1: one of those people that gets pitched for these shows.
- 19:31Speaker 3: Oh, wow.
- 19:32Speaker 1: Yeah, like a couple of the big reality shows they've
- 19:35Speaker 1: had a couple of the interviews for.
- 19:37Speaker 2: And it just made me think, I'm like, and.
- 19:39Speaker 1: We've talked about it, how your life could just within
- 19:42Speaker 1: one show change everything. And my buddy, I mean, he
- 19:45Speaker 1: does well. They have a good job, a cute dog,
- 19:47Speaker 1: like things are looking really well for him. And he
- 19:49Speaker 1: was telling us on the phone, he's like, we might
- 19:50Speaker 1: get picked for this reality show wow and i'm like
- 19:53Speaker 1: if you do.
- 19:54Speaker 3: Do can you give us a description of what kind
- 19:56Speaker 3: of reality show it is it's like amazing race type thing.
- 19:59Speaker 1: What was the first one the first one he was
- 20:01Speaker 1: telling us was awkward because it was like a It
- 20:04Speaker 1: would have been a dating show. Like, I think his
- 20:06Speaker 1: girl was going to be up on a dating show.
- 20:08Speaker 1: And I was like, well, that would be awkward.
- 20:09Speaker 3: Yeah, how does that work?
- 20:10Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 20:11Speaker 1: I don't think that was the one that was going through.
- 20:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:12Speaker 1: I can't remember the other one of, like, because there's
- 20:15Speaker 1: so many now. But I can't remember the other one
- 20:17Speaker 1: where I think it was like, oh, that's what it was.
- 20:19Speaker 1: There's a show where they help you with a proposal
- 20:22Speaker 1: or something like that. Well, that's a pivot. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Like, from dating to, like, a proposal, like the perfect proposal.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 20:29Speaker 2: I don't know if that's the show title. But they
- 20:30Speaker 2: were being pitched for that show.
- 20:32Speaker 3: Fun.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Which I'm like, that's cool because not only do you
- 20:34Speaker 1: get your proposal paid for and it's as epic as
- 20:37Speaker 1: you could possibly imagine because it's on TV. So they're
- 20:40Speaker 1: going to do all the bells and whistle. Now you're
- 20:42Speaker 1: going to be extremely famous. I don't know if that's
- 20:44Speaker 1: going to happen. I don't know if they're going to
- 20:45Speaker 1: get picked because I don't know how many things.
- 20:46Speaker 3: Well, not if she's being pitched for dating shows. Someone's
- 20:49Speaker 3: going to be like, someone's lying here. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 20:51Speaker 2: I think that was a while back though.
- 20:52Speaker 1: But I think she's in that circle because I've always wondered,
- 20:55Speaker 1: like you've applied for those shows. I've always wondered.
- 20:57Speaker 3: I never get picked.
- 20:58Speaker 1: Well, because that's, Thousands I don't know millions of people
- 21:01Speaker 1: throwing themselves at this show. No, it's like once you're
- 21:04Speaker 1: in the circle though Then you're kind of like hmm
- 21:07Speaker 1: You could pop around these different shows and then forever
- 21:10Speaker 1: your life could be on a different platform I.
- 21:12Speaker 3: Know but they won't let me in the circle. I'm
- 21:14Speaker 3: currently outside of the circle.
- 21:15Speaker 1: There has to be a show that's but there's the
- 21:18Speaker 1: I Found out okay, so, you know how you do
- 21:20Speaker 1: bays on Bayshore. This is gonna connect to the show Yeah,
- 21:22Speaker 1: and I was telling you there's a show that's similar
- 21:25Speaker 1: to your bays on Bayshore where they have two singles
- 21:27Speaker 1: meet up in Tampa and They filmed the whole interaction
- 21:29Speaker 1: over a brew at a local restaurant in Tampa Bay.
- 21:31Speaker 3: No, I haven't seen that.
- 21:32Speaker 1: You remember me telling me that? Well, we talked about
- 21:34Speaker 1: it on the show I do, Florida For Real, and
- 21:36Speaker 1: we talked to the founders of it.
- 21:39Speaker 2: The show is called, I think it's called Small Talk.
- 21:41Speaker 1: Okay.
- 21:42Speaker 2: If you wanted to check that out.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Because I don't know where they're going to go with
- 21:45Speaker 1: that show, but it's cute because it's a local dating
- 21:48Speaker 1: show for people in the area. And it's like, okay,
- 21:51Speaker 1: do you guys agree to have this film the entire time?
- 21:54Speaker 1: And it's as legit as possible. It's like two strangers.
- 21:56Speaker 1: Here's a conversation. We'll pay for your dinner and see
- 21:58Speaker 1: where it goes. That's fun. I feel like you could
- 22:00Speaker 1: partner with them for Bays on Bayshore and that. But
- 22:02Speaker 1: that's just the business.
- 22:03Speaker 3: I'll have to hit them up.
- 22:04Speaker 1: I wish, though, it would be cool to see if
- 22:06Speaker 1: you could get into that world of whatever game show
- 22:08Speaker 1: would be. And you've talked about like, OK, you did
- 22:11Speaker 1: Farmer Wants a Wife.
- 22:11Speaker 3: Well, I tried to do Farmer Wants a Wife. They
- 22:13Speaker 3: didn't want me, which I was shocked by because I'm like, OK,
- 22:15Speaker 3: maybe I'm not hot enough for The Bachelor. But I'm like,
- 22:17Speaker 3: Farmer Wants a Wife. That was insulting. I found that.
- 22:20Speaker 3: I was like, what? Rude.
- 22:21Speaker 2: What one do you think you could win, though?
- 22:23Speaker 3: Burn One's Wife.
- 22:24Speaker 2: Oh, like you could like win that?
- 22:25Speaker 3: Well, I mean, not win, but I felt like I
- 22:27Speaker 3: had a good chance of clicking with one of the
- 22:30Speaker 3: farmers because I'm like, oh, I feel like they'd be
- 22:32Speaker 3: into me. Like. I'm from the South.
- 22:34Speaker 2: You'd be a good farmer wife.
- 22:35Speaker 3: I went to school in Gainesville, Florida.
- 22:36Speaker 1: Yeah, you're up by the Jacksonville area. You got some
- 22:40Speaker 1: Southern roots in you.
- 22:40Speaker 3: Yeah, just a little bit. So I thought I would
- 22:42Speaker 3: do good at that, but I'm not like, I don't
- 22:43Speaker 3: think I'd be good at a game show. Like I
- 22:45Speaker 3: think it would consume me. Like I think it would
- 22:48Speaker 3: turn me into like the worst kind of person because
- 22:49Speaker 3: I'm very competitive. Oh, really? Yeah, and I don't think
- 22:52Speaker 3: I would like that. Like, I think I would need
- 22:53Speaker 3: to be on a relationship show because it's either they
- 22:56Speaker 3: like you or they don't.
- 22:56Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. There's kind of nothing you can do. Yeah,
- 22:58Speaker 1: just being yourself with it. But you could kind of
- 23:00Speaker 1: manipulate them. That's what we see in, like, The Bachelor
- 23:02Speaker 1: and Bachelorette.
- 23:02Speaker 3: You totally could, but I always feel like that backfires.
- 23:05Speaker 3: You know when you can tell that someone's self-producing on
- 23:07Speaker 3: a reality show? I always feel like that backfires because
- 23:10Speaker 3: you can just tell that that person's not being authentic.
- 23:13Speaker 3: And I think the people that do really well on
- 23:14Speaker 3: reality shows are the people who are really good at
- 23:17Speaker 3: just being themselves.
- 23:19Speaker 2: Oh, that would make sense.
- 23:20Speaker 1: Yeah. I'm trying to think of a game show like
- 23:22Speaker 1: without dating because I think dating is one thing. But
- 23:24Speaker 1: the game shows that are out there that I could
- 23:26Speaker 1: actually think I could win.
- 23:27Speaker 2: You remember that show Wipeout?
- 23:29Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. I always thought I could win that.
- 23:31Speaker 3: I could definitely see you on Wipeout. I for sure
- 23:34Speaker 3: could see you on Wipeout. Or have you tried the
- 23:36Speaker 3: or have you thought about American Ninja Warrior?
- 23:37Speaker 2: That's the one I was thinking about after.
- 23:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:39Speaker 2: I was like, would I be able to get to that?
- 23:42Speaker 1: Because we have a gym like that right down the
- 23:43Speaker 1: street here that they train the Ninja Warriors. to be
- 23:47Speaker 1: able to go through the obstacle course. They've had a
- 23:48Speaker 1: couple people that have been on the show to do it.
- 23:51Speaker 1: And I tried some of the obstacles. It's hard as shit. Yeah,
- 23:53Speaker 1: it's very hard. Those obstacles, oh my God, they make
- 23:56Speaker 1: it look so easy on TV. But even the little
- 23:59Speaker 1: platforms that you start with where you just jump side
- 24:01Speaker 1: to side to side.
- 24:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:02Speaker 1: I struggled to get through there.
- 24:04Speaker 3: You've never considered actually trying to go for it though?
- 24:06Speaker 1: I've considered it, yes. I've considered trying to train and
- 24:09Speaker 1: do it. But that would take so much. And I
- 24:13Speaker 1: don't know, maybe it's not off the radar.
- 24:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:14Speaker 1: Because somebody said, Because every year, like we talked about,
- 24:17Speaker 1: like I pick a new challenge. What am I going
- 24:19Speaker 1: to train for? What am I going to go for?
- 24:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:20Speaker 1: And when I was putting up the little polls on
- 24:22Speaker 1: my Instagram this time, people were like, oh, I think
- 24:24Speaker 1: you should do American Ninja Warrior. It's like y'all had
- 24:27Speaker 1: a lot of faith in me. Like your boy can't,
- 24:29Speaker 1: I don't really have the greatest balance. I could do
- 24:31Speaker 1: some athletic things. Yeah. But even like that warped wall
- 24:34Speaker 1: that they have, it's crazy where you run up and
- 24:36Speaker 1: try to grab the ledge.
- 24:37Speaker 3: It's insane.
- 24:38Speaker 1: It's like 15 feet high. I'm five, eight in shoes.
- 24:42Speaker 1: That's three times my height.
- 24:44Speaker 3: I would like to try just to see like where
- 24:46Speaker 3: my weaknesses are because I work out so much that
- 24:49Speaker 3: I do the same workouts over and over again that
- 24:51Speaker 3: I don't really know what muscle groups I'm neglecting, if
- 24:54Speaker 3: that makes sense. Then I'm like, oh, I wonder what
- 24:57Speaker 3: I would have a hard time doing.
- 24:58Speaker 1: Yeah. No, I literally thought to myself over the weekend
- 25:00Speaker 1: because they did the... For 9-11, they did the stair
- 25:03Speaker 1: climb challenge at the crunch I work out. And this
- 25:06Speaker 1: is how I knew there are certain areas of my
- 25:07Speaker 1: life I'm really in shape with. And there's other areas
- 25:09Speaker 1: that I'm like, damn, I got to work on that.
- 25:11Speaker 1: And I was on a stair climber with a weighted vest.
- 25:14Speaker 2: And it was.
- 25:15Speaker 1: kicking my ass and I was like holy crap like
- 25:17Speaker 1: this is a side of the training I have not
- 25:19Speaker 1: hit yeah and there's a woman next to me that's
- 25:21Speaker 1: I don't know going twice the speed and just flying
- 25:24Speaker 1: through it and like not winded at all I'm like
- 25:27Speaker 1: what is happening here like there's you might be strong
- 25:30Speaker 1: in one area but in a whole other it might
- 25:33Speaker 1: just be like I'm not good yeah it might just
- 25:35Speaker 1: be kicking my butt are you gonna switch up what
- 25:37Speaker 1: you're doing because you've talked about I said boxing one
- 25:39Speaker 1: time yeah oh we should do boxing.
- 25:41Speaker 3: Well I did boxing for a it's funny. I was like, Oh,
- 25:45Speaker 3: I need to pivot from solid core in a couple
- 25:47Speaker 3: of months. Cause it'll be, I think in March it'll
- 25:50Speaker 3: be a full, no in, in December it'll be a year,
- 25:52Speaker 3: but I've had my membership since March.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Oh yeah.
- 25:54Speaker 3: Um, I was like, what do I want to do
- 25:56Speaker 3: after solid core? And then, um, I was getting so
- 25:58Speaker 3: many compliments in Italy. I'm like, fuck, I can't quit.
- 26:00Speaker 1: Like it's working.
- 26:02Speaker 3: It's working. Um, so I don't know, maybe I'll in
- 26:05Speaker 3: a year I'll pivot from doing solid core all the
- 26:08Speaker 3: time and maybe do more traditional weightlifting like once a week. Yeah.
- 26:12Speaker 2: Like get it.
- 26:13Speaker 1: Would you get like a trainer?
- 26:15Speaker 3: I've thought about it, but that's expensive. It's expensive. If
- 26:17Speaker 3: somebody wanted to train me for free and, like, me
- 26:19Speaker 3: post about them for sure, I'd do that.
- 26:21Speaker 2: Have you gone to that, what is it, that booty
- 26:24Speaker 2: class in Tampa?
- 26:25Speaker 1: Because I know my girlfriend and her friends do that, like,
- 26:27Speaker 1: every Saturday.
- 26:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I've done that. But I also don't really care
- 26:30Speaker 3: that much about my ass to do a peach.
- 26:33Speaker 1: Well, not just. I look at it more as, like,
- 26:36Speaker 1: a leg workout.
- 26:36Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 26:37Speaker 2: Like, if there's somebody that could do that for, like,
- 26:38Speaker 2: Monday's legs or.
- 26:40Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, I can't pitch other gyms, but the
- 26:43Speaker 1: other one, like F45.
- 26:45Speaker 3: There's a bunch. I don't like the Orange Theory type
- 26:47Speaker 3: classes because I was in the worst shape of my
- 26:49Speaker 3: life when I did that consistently. I'm not saying that
- 26:53Speaker 3: that would happen to anybody else, but for me, I
- 26:55Speaker 3: don't think it works for my body type. I do
- 26:56Speaker 3: like the Reformer in the sense that it's very low impact.
- 27:00Speaker 3: It's good on your joints and stuff. I like Resistance Training.
- 27:03Speaker 3: Resistance Training probably is my favorite. But I know you
- 27:06Speaker 3: need to lift heavy to do shit.
- 27:08Speaker 1: Yeah, to be able to actually get some resistance.
- 27:10Speaker 2: Big resistance.
- 27:11Speaker 1: Yeah. Because everybody should, no matter what you're doing outside
- 27:14Speaker 1: of that. Whether it's, I love Pilates, yoga, running, cycling.
- 27:17Speaker 1: On top of it, weightlifting.
- 27:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:19Speaker 1: Your body simply needs it to be able to do
- 27:21Speaker 1: functional things throughout life.
- 27:22Speaker 3: 100%.
- 27:23Speaker 1: Let me run this by you. Because over the weekend,
- 27:25Speaker 1: I had a very interesting encounter. And this person might
- 27:27Speaker 1: hear this. So I'm not trying to throw anybody under
- 27:30Speaker 1: the bus. Because I believe....
- 27:33Speaker 2: What they were doing, and I'm still a little suspicious,
- 27:36Speaker 2: was out of kindness.
- 27:36Speaker 3: Okay.
- 27:37Speaker 1: However, it had me on edge for the entire weekend.
- 27:41Speaker 1: I was at Publix, and I was doing a little shopping.
- 27:45Speaker 1: My girlfriend was about to come over, and so I thought,
- 27:47Speaker 1: you know what? Let me get my apartment looking nice.
- 27:49Speaker 1: I got a nice bouquet of flowers, and as I'm
- 27:51Speaker 1: walking down the aisle, I hear this guy say, man,
- 27:54Speaker 1: those are some.
- 27:55Speaker 2: Really nice flowers. You're making me look like a bad husband.
- 27:58Speaker 1: And I thought, well, that's a friendly guy right there.
- 28:00Speaker 1: So I turned around, and of course, my goofy self,
- 28:02Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, you know, got to get him for
- 28:03Speaker 1: my girlfriend. I want to make sure she has something
- 28:06Speaker 1: nice when she gets to the apartment. He starts chatting
- 28:08Speaker 1: it up with me. He's like, man, you got a
- 28:10Speaker 1: good voice. What do you do?
- 28:11Speaker 2: I'm like, okay. Heard that before. Well, I'm in radio.
- 28:14Speaker 2: He's like, oh, awesome.
- 28:15Speaker 1: Like, what radio station? I'm like, oh, okay, Magic 94.9.
- 28:19Speaker 1: And then it goes to another level. So that was
- 28:21Speaker 1: like the introductory of getting me to open up about myself.
- 28:23Speaker 1: And then he goes, well, where do you live?
- 28:26Speaker 2: And I said, oh.
- 28:28Speaker 1: I live around the area and this is the question
- 28:31Speaker 1: that got me on edge. Yeah. And either he's being
- 28:33Speaker 1: extremely friendly or like it's a little bit of a
- 28:36Speaker 1: weird question. He goes, well, how many avenues away?
- 28:39Speaker 2: I said, wait a second, sir.
- 28:43Speaker 1: You want to know how many avenues away I live
- 28:45Speaker 1: from this Publix?
- 28:47Speaker 3: Do you even know how many avenues?
- 28:48Speaker 2: I honestly, I could have figured it out.
- 28:50Speaker 1: What here's maybe I've watched too many murder mysteries and Or, like,
- 28:54Speaker 1: weird stories.
- 28:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:56Speaker 2: Because it was a very lovely conversation.
- 28:58Speaker 3: But, I mean, like, what a weird question to ask.
- 29:00Speaker 1: That's what I thought, too. Because in my head, I
- 29:02Speaker 1: was like, wow, you got me to, like, quickly answer
- 29:04Speaker 1: so many questions in my head.
- 29:06Speaker 2: And I know this.
- 29:08Speaker 1: If he hears this, I don't think this is what
- 29:09Speaker 1: you're doing. But in my head, I'm like, you're getting
- 29:11Speaker 1: me to answer so quick that I just slip up
- 29:13Speaker 1: and I say it. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 29:14Speaker 2: So it was like, what do you do for work?
- 29:15Speaker 3: What's your name?
- 29:16Speaker 2: What did you say? Oh, I said, nah, somewhere five
- 29:19Speaker 2: miles in this radius.
- 29:19Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 29:20Speaker 2: Like, I pivoted. Because my brain literally went like, alert, alert.
- 29:23Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 29:24Speaker 1: Why are you giving away avenues? Like, why do you
- 29:26Speaker 1: need to know how many avenues I live from?
- 29:27Speaker 3: And what did he say?
- 29:29Speaker 1: He said, oh, that's awesome. What about your girlfriend? Where
- 29:31Speaker 1: does she live at?
- 29:32Speaker 2: And I'm like, uh, down South Florida?
- 29:35Speaker 3: He's like, oh, yeah, where at?
- 29:37Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, God.
- 29:38Speaker 1: This is so weird. I'm like, Oh my God. I
- 29:40Speaker 1: think you're just being friendly, but these are weird questions, sir.
- 29:43Speaker 3: How'd you get out of it?
- 29:44Speaker 1: I ended up flipping it to him. So I was like, oh, well,
- 29:47Speaker 1: what do you do? What do you do for work? Yeah.
- 29:49Speaker 1: When did you guys move here? How long have you
- 29:51Speaker 1: been in this area? Because I couldn't be the only
- 29:53Speaker 1: one that's revealed my cards in my head. Literally. I
- 29:55Speaker 1: thought to myself, he knows so much about me. I
- 29:58Speaker 1: need to have something on him. Because, let's just say, hypothetically,
- 30:02Speaker 1: I get taken out. And I know nothing about this guy.
- 30:05Speaker 1: And nobody knows anything.
- 30:06Speaker 3: About this guy. You're taking out your camera, you're snapping photos.
- 30:08Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm like, somebody has to be able to find
- 30:10Speaker 2: who this person is.
- 30:10Speaker 3: Did he respond?
- 30:11Speaker 2: Yeah, he told me what he does for work.
- 30:14Speaker 3: He lives three avenues away.
- 30:16Speaker 1: He did tell me exactly where he lives. But I then,
- 30:19Speaker 1: I think this is the normal thing to do. As
- 30:21Speaker 1: soon as I got in my car, I Googled him
- 30:23Speaker 1: to figure out who he is, what businesses does he run.
- 30:27Speaker 1: And after I saw him pop up, I was like, Okay,
- 30:30Speaker 1: I think I'm safe, but I'm not crazy for thinking
- 30:34Speaker 1: those are weird questions.
- 30:35Speaker 3: But why did you feel safe after Googling him?
- 30:37Speaker 1: Because I saw, like, he owns a couple businesses here,
- 30:40Speaker 1: and at least this way... Actually, here's the truth. I
- 30:43Speaker 1: felt safe now that I Googled him, because if I
- 30:45Speaker 1: was taken, now you could find him. Yeah. Now you
- 30:47Speaker 1: know who this person is, and you know exactly what
- 30:49Speaker 1: he looks like.
- 30:49Speaker 3: But, I mean, that is objectively a weird thing to
- 30:51Speaker 3: press on. Like, where does she live? I thought you
- 30:54Speaker 3: were about to say that he works in politics, and
- 30:56Speaker 3: he's trying to figure out if you're, like, in his.
- 30:58Speaker 1: You're like one of his constituents. Yeah. I don't know.
- 31:01Speaker 1: I don't know what, I think it was just a,
- 31:02Speaker 1: I'm so friendly. I'm just going to ask you everything.
- 31:04Speaker 1: And maybe it was just one of those. Cause then
- 31:06Speaker 1: he messaged me late. Oh, that was the other one.
- 31:08Speaker 1: And then he asked me for my phone number.
- 31:10Speaker 3: That's weird.
- 31:10Speaker 2: And I was like, gosh. And again, you got me
- 31:13Speaker 2: off guard. Like, what am I going to say?
- 31:14Speaker 3: No.
- 31:14Speaker 1: Yeah. I don't know. We're just two gentlemen talking in
- 31:16Speaker 1: aisle nine.
- 31:17Speaker 2: I was like, all right.
- 31:20Speaker 3: And I thought to myself, I was like, Scott, I
- 31:22Speaker 3: was like I guess if.
- 31:23Speaker 2: Anything I could block the number if it got weird
- 31:25Speaker 2: well I guess.
- 31:25Speaker 4: Yeah realistically what's he gonna do with your phone number
- 31:28Speaker 4: I don't know but that was my head I was
- 31:29Speaker 4: like why did I just give it out so easily
- 31:30Speaker 4: because usually I don't like I don't give my phone
- 31:32Speaker 4: number out to anybody I don't know why I mean
- 31:35Speaker 4: even it was just kind of a thing in radio
- 31:37Speaker 4: I remember coming in to this industry and like that
- 31:40Speaker 4: was the Big lesson.
- 31:41Speaker 2: Like, don't give your phone number out.
- 31:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 31:42Speaker 2: Because you'll never hear the end of it.
- 31:44Speaker 3: No, I mean, Bert would get texts in the middle
- 31:46Speaker 3: of the show from people who have his phone number.
- 31:48Speaker 1: See?
- 31:48Speaker 2: As soon as it gets leaked, you'll never get it back.
- 31:50Speaker 1: You gotta switch phones. Oh, 100%. Yeah. And so, as
- 31:52Speaker 1: soon as I gave it out, I was like, not
- 31:55Speaker 1: only does he know where you live, what you do,
- 31:57Speaker 1: and your phone number, like, you have no dirt on him.
- 32:00Speaker 1: And so, in my head, I'm like, I'm gonna get
- 32:02Speaker 1: taken out. I just gave away everything I had. I
- 32:04Speaker 1: don't know. Maybe there's a camera around, and it's like
- 32:06Speaker 1: a whole show of how easy is it to you know,
- 32:10Speaker 1: take me out or get some of these personal information.
- 32:12Speaker 1: So the whole afternoon I sat there, I was like,
- 32:14Speaker 1: I'm waiting. But then he did text me. And I
- 32:17Speaker 1: think this is where it's just being a nice guy.
- 32:19Speaker 1: Cause he was like, dude, you're super nice to meet.
- 32:21Speaker 1: I think, you know, I want to connect you with
- 32:22Speaker 1: my son cause he's interested in radio. And there's some
- 32:25Speaker 1: other business opportunities that if you're interested in, I can
- 32:28Speaker 1: get you connected with. If you're looking to like, you know,
- 32:31Speaker 1: continue doing side hustles. I was like, Oh, that's very nice.
- 32:33Speaker 1: So I did text him back. Okay. So I don't
- 32:35Speaker 1: know if I don't think I'm going to get killed,
- 32:37Speaker 1: but it was a moment where I thought, damn, you
- 32:40Speaker 1: got to be so quick.
- 32:41Speaker 2: And like, as soon as you let.
- 32:43Speaker 1: Your guard down, it's just so easy to, and it
- 32:45Speaker 1: was a good tactic. Cause it was like question, question, question.
- 32:48Speaker 1: And I was like, I don't know, answer, answer, answer.
- 32:50Speaker 1: And I only had that reflection time as I was walking.
- 32:51Speaker 3: I know. So, I mean, just be careful out there.
- 32:53Speaker 3: Don't get taken out.
- 32:54Speaker 2: I mean, if I do though, I'll tell you off
- 32:57Speaker 2: the air who it is.
- 32:58Speaker 1: Perfect. So if I do that, you know who to get,
- 33:01Speaker 1: but I think hopefully it was somebody that was just
- 33:03Speaker 1: being nice and hopefully trying to make me, as I
- 33:06Speaker 1: said earlier, trying to make me rich with these side
- 33:08Speaker 1: deals and, Versus me ending up in a ditch.
- 33:10Speaker 3: Hopefully.
- 33:11Speaker 2: I don't think I'm going to die. But that was
- 33:12Speaker 2: my weekend in Caterham. I was not in Italy.
- 33:14Speaker 3: I know. I was in Italy. Well, actually, no, I
- 33:17Speaker 3: was here for the weekend. But last week I was
- 33:19Speaker 3: in Italy.
- 33:19Speaker 1: We'll be back with more episodes tomorrow. Anything that you
- 33:22Speaker 1: want to tease before we go?
- 33:24Speaker 3: Anything I want to tease? Well, I guess if you're
- 33:26Speaker 3: interested in traveling with me, I really love feedback. Like, literally,
- 33:29Speaker 3: you could be the difference between us going to south
- 33:31Speaker 3: of France and Switzerland based off of what people want
- 33:34Speaker 3: to do. So hit me up.
- 33:36Speaker 1: There it is, at the Abby Murphy. And always leave
- 33:39Speaker 1: your comments, your reviews on the podcast. If it's still
- 33:43Speaker 1: a thing to give it stars, throw some stars on
- 33:46Speaker 1: that thing.
