- 2:22Speaker 3: But John, I wanted to kind of ask you if
- 2:28Speaker 3: you could go back in your mind to when this
- 2:31Speaker 3: episode was going to air, how are you feeling about
- 2:36Speaker 3: where you hoped that I guess you know this season
- 2:39Speaker 3: might end. I mean, this is twenty twenty in December,
- 2:43Speaker 3: and so how are you feeling with knowing that you know,
- 2:48Speaker 3: this season was about to wrap up and you know
- 2:51Speaker 3: you were going to have a Mandalarian free Christmas.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Well, twenty twenty was, of course a very special time
- 2:56Speaker 2: in everybody's lives. And all I know is that I
- 2:59Speaker 2: really wanted to to be the longest episode. I wanted
- 3:01Speaker 2: this to be like a two hour episode. Every little
- 3:04Speaker 2: bit of anything to give it joy was something to
- 3:07Speaker 2: hold on to because the world was going crazy and
- 3:10Speaker 2: nothing made much sense in the real world anymore. So,
- 3:13Speaker 2: you know, honestly, after you know, the second to last episode,
- 3:18Speaker 2: which we talked about already, like that that set a
- 3:22Speaker 2: stage where it was sort of like the way my
- 3:24Speaker 2: cousin felt after Attack the Clones, where it was like,
- 3:27Speaker 2: how do they go and top this? I didn't know
- 3:30Speaker 2: where they were headed to from there that could possibly
- 3:34Speaker 2: match sort of like the level of satisfaction that I'd
- 3:38Speaker 2: had from that episode, because that was sort of next level.
- 3:42Speaker 2: It made so many references to what I loved in
- 3:44Speaker 2: film and different movies that I've seen and different things
- 3:49Speaker 2: that really plug into just my core love of Star Wars,
- 3:53Speaker 2: and you know, I'm i mean like there were spoilers
- 3:55Speaker 2: flying around there were you know, everybody was online NonStop.
- 3:59Speaker 2: I mean, going in, did you know what to expect?
- 4:01Speaker 2: Had you seen anything that was a spoiler or anything
- 4:05Speaker 2: that had set the stage for you or were you
- 4:07Speaker 2: going in cold?
- 4:09Speaker 4: Uh?
- 4:09Speaker 3: No, I you know, when it comes to these type
- 4:12Speaker 3: of shows, you know, I I will watch like a
- 4:17Speaker 3: season trailer for something, but I don't want to watch
- 4:20Speaker 3: really as much like what's coming next on the next
- 4:24Speaker 3: episode type of trailers, those kind of things. I don't
- 4:26Speaker 3: like to watch clips. I like to watch things in context.
- 4:31Speaker 4: And so.
- 4:33Speaker 3: No, I was definitely not into the spoiler scene. And
- 4:39Speaker 3: you know, I thought what was was most interesting about
- 4:43Speaker 3: this episode is that, you know, you really had set
- 4:45Speaker 3: up a lot of stories in this episode, right, I mean,
- 4:50Speaker 3: you have this whole thing where we bring Bocaton back
- 4:54Speaker 3: and she's looking to get the Dark Saber back, which
- 4:57Speaker 3: ties into rebels, which reminds you that and she got
- 5:00Speaker 3: the Dark Savor and rebels that had been handed to
- 5:02Speaker 3: her and therefore it did not go so well in
- 5:05Speaker 3: her trying to rule mandalor at that point, mm hmmm,
- 5:09Speaker 3: You've got the whole Uh do we reunite Grogu and
- 5:13Speaker 3: Mando and so that you know they can come back together.
- 5:18Speaker 3: Is there going to be him completing the mission giving
- 5:22Speaker 3: him to his kind a Jedi, you know? And if so,
- 5:26Speaker 3: who's that going to be? Because Ahsoka said it wasn't
- 5:28Speaker 3: going to be her. And and then you just you know,
- 5:33Speaker 3: you have the friendships that that Mando's made along the way,
- 5:39Speaker 3: where you know, you've got Cardoon and Finnik shand and
- 5:44Speaker 3: of course Boa Fett all helping out here as well.
- 5:48Speaker 3: And there, I mean, that's a lot happening in this episode.
- 5:52Speaker 2: It is, really is.
- 5:53Speaker 3: And so I think in that sense, like and and
- 5:57Speaker 3: even coming into the episode, I don't know that Bo
- 6:00Speaker 3: is going to be a part of this episode, right
- 6:02Speaker 3: because I wasn't looking at spoilers, and so I think,
- 6:09Speaker 3: like you, this just became one of those things where
- 6:13Speaker 3: at this point with the Mandalorian, it's become such a enjoyable,
- 6:21Speaker 3: you know, Star Wars experience again that when we get
- 6:25Speaker 3: to this, I just didn't necessarily want it to end,
- 6:29Speaker 3: Like you, I was like, I need this to be
- 6:30Speaker 3: the longest freaking episode possible, just because I'm enjoying so
- 6:34Speaker 3: much spending time with this world. The characters that have
- 6:37Speaker 3: been created, the storyline that's been created, which you know
- 6:41Speaker 3: has little bits and pieces and aspects of things that
- 6:45Speaker 3: you know, we had like kind of read in the EU.
- 6:47Speaker 3: You know, I was loving all that stuff, So I mean,
- 6:50Speaker 3: that's that's definitely where I was coming into this. And
- 6:53Speaker 3: you know, I think even just coming back to it
- 6:56Speaker 3: and knowing all of the stuff that is going to happen,
- 7:00Speaker 3: the other thing I was thinking that I wanted to
- 7:02Speaker 3: ask you, does it hold up when you come back
- 7:07Speaker 3: to it? You know, once all of the surprises are
- 7:12Speaker 3: known for you, you know what's coming, you know how
- 7:16Speaker 3: all the action beats are going to play out, and everything,
- 7:18Speaker 3: you know Luke Skywalker is going to show up. Does
- 7:23Speaker 3: this still hold up for you as kind of a
- 7:25Speaker 3: high water mark of Star Wars, especially on television.
- 7:29Speaker 2: I completely think that this holds up absolutely. I think
- 7:32Speaker 2: that this is a really supremely well crafted episode where
- 7:38Speaker 2: once you know the surprises, it's not about the anticipation
- 7:42Speaker 2: of what's going to happen next. It's about the anticipation
- 7:44Speaker 2: of knowing what's coming next and the treat that it is.
- 7:47Speaker 2: And I think everything is just paced so well. It
- 7:51Speaker 2: switches from what's going to happen for Oh, I can't
- 7:54Speaker 2: wait to see it happen. And I mean same question
- 7:57Speaker 2: back to you. Do you think this holds up?
- 8:00Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I don't. I don't think anybody's gonna
- 8:02Speaker 3: be surprised that I would have say absolutely, it holds up.
- 8:06Speaker 3: And I think the fun part actually of going back
- 8:10Speaker 3: now is because I know what's gonna happen, I get
- 8:14Speaker 3: the opportunity then to be able to kind of look
- 8:17Speaker 3: at all the little hidden Easter eggs that are in
- 8:20Speaker 3: those scenes. And you know, specifically with Luke, what's beautiful
- 8:26Speaker 3: is if you're watching the lights Saber choreography, there's so
- 8:29Speaker 3: much Anakin in it. Are there are moves that Anakin
- 8:32Speaker 3: literally makes in episode three that are there. You know,
- 8:38Speaker 3: there's another hallway scene like Rogue one, but this time
- 8:42Speaker 3: with the sun uh and you know all of that
- 8:46Speaker 3: stuff is like, yeah, this is where giving the fans
- 8:52Speaker 3: what they want, but doing it in a way that
- 8:57Speaker 3: is legitimized by that story you're telling. That's the best
- 9:02Speaker 3: part of being a fan of anything, right, you.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Know, I mean.
- 9:08Speaker 3: It's akin to that moment of that we were feeling.
- 9:12Speaker 3: I know you were a big fan of Startup per
- 9:14Speaker 3: Card season three, right, and all of those moments that
- 9:17Speaker 3: we were getting in that season as these characters that
- 9:21Speaker 3: we loved so much came back together and had a
- 9:24Speaker 3: last hurrah, you know, And in that this episode kind
- 9:30Speaker 3: of scratches the itch that we had all had for
- 9:35Speaker 3: the sequels for our favorite characters to come back and do.
- 9:38Speaker 4: Cool stuff, man do cool stuff.
- 9:41Speaker 3: Like and and that we want our heroes to be
- 9:46Speaker 3: heroes in that sense. And so I think that not
- 9:51Speaker 3: only does it hold up, but I think it just
- 9:53Speaker 3: continues to be one of those wonderful gifts that we
- 9:57Speaker 3: were given as Star Wars.
- 10:00Speaker 2: I think that's a really important point too, about it
- 10:02Speaker 2: being a gift, because this is something that's very obviously
- 10:05Speaker 2: crafted with the fans in mind, but without getting so
- 10:09Speaker 2: inside their own heads that they're trying to outthink us
- 10:13Speaker 2: or out clever us, or insists that the audience doesn't
- 10:17Speaker 2: really know what they want like this is. This is
- 10:20Speaker 2: something that is very deliberately constructed in such a way
- 10:24Speaker 2: as to give joy to the people who are there
- 10:27Speaker 2: going along for the ride. I mean, ultimately, we're talking
- 10:30Speaker 2: about entertainment, and even when it's teaching you, it should
- 10:35Speaker 2: be entertaining you. And part of that is plugging in
- 10:38Speaker 2: to what you want and giving you not exactly what
- 10:41Speaker 2: you want, but something that feels right. Nonetheless, it's sort
- 10:44Speaker 2: of like, you know, going somewhere, and you know, I
- 10:47Speaker 2: use food metaphors all the time, and I'm so sorry
- 10:49Speaker 2: for that, but sometimes you know, you go to a
- 10:53Speaker 2: restaurant and what's delivered isn't quite the way you expect
- 10:56Speaker 2: the hamburger to be cooked, or the fries to be cut,
- 10:59Speaker 2: or or making myself hungry now, but you get the point, right,
- 11:03Speaker 2: And it's it's about that giving the audience what they want,
- 11:08Speaker 2: but not specifically what they're asking for. If that makes sense,
- 11:13Speaker 2: I don't know if it does. But so much of
- 11:15Speaker 2: that has to do, I think with Peyton Reid's direction,
- 11:18Speaker 2: and I think Peyton Reid deserves a lot of credit.
- 11:22Speaker 2: His work is you know, largely you know, like comic
- 11:28Speaker 2: you know, you have Aunt Man, you have Bring it On,
- 11:29Speaker 2: and you have all of those sorts of things, and
- 11:31Speaker 2: it's all about pacing. And so I think that's really
- 11:35Speaker 2: also about giving the fans what they want, which is
- 11:38Speaker 2: not something that's pondering or laboriously you know, obsessed with itself.
- 11:44Speaker 2: It's something that is coming at you, and it's coming
- 11:47Speaker 2: at you in the right pace so that you're you're
- 11:49Speaker 2: absorbing information and it's coming to you. And I think
- 11:53Speaker 2: Peyton Reid was, you know, exactly the right director for
- 11:57Speaker 2: this moment in time, if that makes any sense. You know,
- 11:59Speaker 2: somebody come along and who's got film in his background,
- 12:05Speaker 2: He's got Marvel in his background. He knows how to
- 12:09Speaker 2: deliver something that is to an audience is liking well
- 12:13Speaker 2: at the same time surprising them along the way because
- 12:16Speaker 2: of the way the story is being told.
- 12:18Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm really glad that you pointed that out, because
- 12:23Speaker 3: you know, when the episode ended and you know his
- 12:26Speaker 3: name is there as director. I think you look back
- 12:30Speaker 3: on the episode and you just think of not only
- 12:34Speaker 3: how well paced everything is, but how cinematically done all
- 12:40Speaker 3: of the action beats are, you know, from the fight
- 12:43Speaker 3: in the hallway with Mando and mof Gideon to the
- 12:48Speaker 3: choreography you get with Luke to again we talk about
- 12:52Speaker 3: you know, Bo and Fenick Shan and car Dune, you know,
- 12:57Speaker 3: making their way through the kind of the maze that
- 13:02Speaker 3: they have to go through. Oh and having Cosa reeves
- 13:05Speaker 3: there as well. I mean, so all of that, right,
- 13:07Speaker 3: I think is and again I mean even just the action,
- 13:11Speaker 3: like you know, three of them take out the stormtroopers
- 13:16Speaker 3: or whatever, and then you have the stormtroopers come behind them,
- 13:19Speaker 3: and then you've got Bo and Cosa who come up
- 13:21Speaker 3: behind them, you know, and take them all. It's just
- 13:24Speaker 3: there's all it's not just his his just timing of
- 13:30Speaker 3: the episode, but every single part of the episode, whether
- 13:33Speaker 3: it's the action, whether it's a little bit of humor,
- 13:36Speaker 3: whether it's those moments where characters are just kind of
- 13:38Speaker 3: facing off against each other and they're having a verbal battle,
- 13:42Speaker 3: like with Bo and off Gideon where he's just chewing
- 13:45Speaker 3: up scenery and her face looks like granite, you know,
- 13:48Speaker 3: or she just wants to, you know, grind his bones
- 13:51Speaker 3: into the ground because of what he's saying. Like all
- 13:54Speaker 3: of this stuff is it's just really well done. And
- 14:00Speaker 3: I and this is what I want to call this
- 14:02Speaker 3: out because it's something we've noticed. I've noticed too in
- 14:06Speaker 3: these episodes where we've seen these other Mandalorians who grew
- 14:10Speaker 3: up as Mandalorians, they're used to the jet pack. Watching
- 14:14Speaker 3: Bo and Costa fight with the jet pack is so
- 14:20Speaker 3: awesome because it's just a part of who they are
- 14:22Speaker 3: in their fighting style, and they do such incredible moves
- 14:27Speaker 3: with them. You know, it's almost as if you know
- 14:30Speaker 3: it's a jet fo you know, like it. And and
- 14:35Speaker 3: it's funny because you know, you get this character like
- 14:38Speaker 3: Den who hasn't had a jet pack all that long,
- 14:43Speaker 3: and you know, he's just much more cumbersome in just
- 14:46Speaker 3: his fighting style in general. He's always ground based. He's
- 14:49Speaker 3: not necessarily thinking about the fact that he has a
- 14:51Speaker 3: whole other, you know, basically third dimensional element to his
- 14:56Speaker 3: fighting style he's just not utilizing. And I just love
- 14:59Speaker 3: those little moments. It's because there's such character developing moments
- 15:03Speaker 3: without having to say anything. It's just showing us, you know.
- 15:06Speaker 3: And so that's one of the things I think, you know,
- 15:09Speaker 3: somebody like Peyton Reid and these directors and everybody behind
- 15:13Speaker 3: the scenes, they've really thought a lot about what they're
- 15:16Speaker 3: putting on screen. And again, this episode longer, it's forty
- 15:21Speaker 3: four minutes, but these episodes are doing that in thirty
- 15:25Speaker 3: to forty five minutes.
- 15:27Speaker 2: And that even speaks to you know, what Lucas was about.
- 15:31Speaker 2: Faster and more intense. That's just part of the Star
- 15:33Speaker 2: Wars DNA is about getting the story to you efficiently
- 15:37Speaker 2: and keeping it focused and bringing it to you. But
- 15:41Speaker 2: you know, part of this episode also is, you know,
- 15:44Speaker 2: like we've been talking about, Luke comes back and they
- 15:48Speaker 2: deliver Luke to us, Luke from you know, Return of
- 15:52Speaker 2: the Jedi era Luke, not Luke as you know, episode
- 15:56Speaker 2: seven Luke. But there's there were definitely feelings about how
- 16:01Speaker 2: well they pulled off the effect and basically, you know,
- 16:07Speaker 2: you have sort of a door buster moment with Tarkan
- 16:11Speaker 2: in Rogue one, where do you feel that Luke's you know,
- 16:16Speaker 2: face replace move, you know, where does that land on
- 16:20Speaker 2: a scale of one to Tarkin?
- 16:23Speaker 3: It's not as good as Tarkan.
- 16:25Speaker 2: Uh.
- 16:25Speaker 3: And it is interesting to me because.
- 16:27Speaker 4: It it it actually felt like studios at that point
- 16:34Speaker 4: were incredibly trepidacious about adopting kind of like off the
- 16:40Speaker 4: shelf technology and utilizing that.
- 16:43Speaker 3: And it just didn't feel as clean as it could
- 16:49Speaker 3: have been, where it's like take what the off the
- 16:53Speaker 3: shelf technology can do and then work from there. You know,
- 16:57Speaker 3: if you it's it's not as good as it could
- 17:01Speaker 3: have been, It's fine.
- 17:04Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, that actually reminds me of there was
- 17:06Speaker 2: a book Star Wars three sixty five. It was a
- 17:09Speaker 2: coffee table book. It was a beautiful book and each
- 17:12Speaker 2: it was three hundred sixty five pages. It was some
- 17:14Speaker 2: aspect of production from the prequel trilogy, and in it
- 17:21Speaker 2: there was a disc that came along with it. And
- 17:23Speaker 2: one of the things that John Nole talked about was,
- 17:27Speaker 2: you know, it took ILM all of their custom built
- 17:30Speaker 2: stuff to create X wings flying you know, to a
- 17:34Speaker 2: certain degree or whatever. I'm probably butchering, you know, but
- 17:38Speaker 2: like it took them, you know, three weeks to animate
- 17:41Speaker 2: this thing, and he pulled some stuff off the shelf,
- 17:42Speaker 2: cobbled it together, and he did it in like three days.
- 17:45Speaker 2: It's not a one to one I'm pulling from memory,
- 17:48Speaker 2: but that's the gist of it. So, you know, don't
- 17:50Speaker 2: come at me, everybody if I got some details wrong
- 17:53Speaker 2: on that. But the idea is that that kit bashing
- 17:56Speaker 2: philosophy wasn't just for models. It was for technology, and
- 18:00Speaker 2: Lucasfilm itself was known for, you know, doing that pulling
- 18:04Speaker 2: stuff off and customizing it. So, you know, I think
- 18:06Speaker 2: he got a really valid point there.
- 18:09Speaker 3: I think the thing about that is is in the
- 18:12Speaker 3: end and one of the aspects. Like I was just
- 18:16Speaker 3: watching a little previewete thing with Jon Favreau talking about
- 18:23Speaker 3: the making of Mandalorian Grogu, and this doesn't spoil anything,
- 18:27Speaker 3: but he was just talking about, like, look, we're utilizing
- 18:31Speaker 3: all the old technologies and all the new technologies, and
- 18:35Speaker 3: we're just merging it all together to try and make
- 18:38Speaker 3: the best thing we can. You know, they're utilizing a
- 18:41Speaker 3: lot of the type of stuff like in some of
- 18:44Speaker 3: the scenes and forests and stuff. They did the same
- 18:47Speaker 3: thing that they didn't with Lord of the Rings where
- 18:49Speaker 3: they created this massive forest in a sound stage that
- 18:54Speaker 3: looks incredibly real, and then you can use the digital
- 18:56Speaker 3: technology to amplify all that. And it's like.
- 19:01Speaker 4: You you just use what you.
- 19:03Speaker 3: Have available to you and and and with all that
- 19:07Speaker 3: we have, you know, you can tweak it here and there.
- 19:11Speaker 3: It's like, yeah, you use all these puppets, right, but
- 19:14Speaker 3: all of those puppets also involve digital technology because you've
- 19:19Speaker 3: got to remove all the stuff, and you have to
- 19:21Speaker 3: you're cleaning up little movements here and there and all
- 19:25Speaker 3: that suff And you know, they talked all about that
- 19:27Speaker 3: in Project Hail Mary that just came out. You know,
- 19:29Speaker 3: Rocky is not one hundred percent of Puppet one hundred
- 19:32Speaker 3: percent of the time. And the goal was is is
- 19:37Speaker 3: it was for them, we have to create the ability
- 19:42Speaker 3: for you to never know which is which right, And
- 19:46Speaker 3: so you know, again, this is just one of those
- 19:49Speaker 3: places where it was it's funny that they felt the
- 19:52Speaker 3: kind of urge to kind of fight just utilizing what's
- 19:56Speaker 3: already out there. But in the end, you know, I
- 19:58Speaker 3: think that I don't really care because Luke does feel
- 20:05Speaker 3: like Luke from the actions that he takes in and
- 20:08Speaker 3: every moment, you know, he he also has that kind
- 20:12Speaker 3: of wonderful serenity that you got at the end of
- 20:16Speaker 3: Return of the Jedi, where a character feels as though
- 20:20Speaker 3: he has completed the journey and now he's on a
- 20:25Speaker 3: new journey. And it's one of those places where I
- 20:28Speaker 3: have to ask you this, because when I finished this episode,
- 20:33Speaker 3: I want a Luke Skywalker like animated series where I
- 20:38Speaker 3: get to watch him, you know, train Jedi at his
- 20:43Speaker 3: temple or and stuff like that.
- 20:45Speaker 2: You know, I mean, obviously, yeah, I mean I give
- 20:49Speaker 2: it to the animated team. Like with everything they're pulling
- 20:51Speaker 2: off right now, like they're they're bat in a thousand
- 20:54Speaker 2: they've been bat in a thousand since I can remember. So, yeah,
- 20:58Speaker 2: we could make that series forgetting realistic or anything like that.
- 21:02Speaker 2: Just just give it to the animated team. I'm sure
- 21:04Speaker 2: they're you know. You know, honestly, it's like it's like
- 21:10Speaker 2: we've devolved into just this pitch machine for you know,
- 21:14Speaker 2: shows and everything like that. So I don't know, maybe
- 21:18Speaker 2: maybe that's maybe that's just something we should be known
- 21:20Speaker 2: for as being the pitch machine for stuff.
- 21:24Speaker 3: We're just fueling like money printing ideas here at aggressive negotiations.
- 21:29Speaker 3: But John, I don't this is a stupid question, but
- 21:33Speaker 3: I'm gonna ask you anyway.
- 21:35Speaker 4: This is a five, right.
- 21:36Speaker 2: Well, I mean, yeah, come on, what do you think?
- 21:38Speaker 2: I mean?
- 21:38Speaker 3: This is a six on a scale of five.
- 21:40Speaker 2: It's a it's a seven, now six, seven out of five,
- 21:43Speaker 2: Like it is a great episode in every possible way. Uh,
- 21:49Speaker 2: And I think it's just it's just such a love
- 21:53Speaker 2: letter to everything that's right and good when things are
- 21:57Speaker 2: done right and well. But also you know, I was
- 22:02Speaker 2: just at the end of it thinking, oh my gosh,
- 22:05Speaker 2: is this it is? This? Is this truly the end?
- 22:08Speaker 2: Like Grogu's gone off? What what even comes next? I
- 22:11Speaker 2: had I didn't know what they were going to do, Like,
- 22:15Speaker 2: was this just going to be a two season show?
- 22:17Speaker 2: I mean cool? If so, if that's where your arc ends, okay,
- 22:22Speaker 2: I mean it would have been, you know, the the
- 22:24Speaker 2: gutsiest move, you know, it would have been the most
- 22:27Speaker 2: gutsy move since keeping Grogu a secret, or keeping his
- 22:32Speaker 2: name a secret, or blowing up the Razor Crest unexpectedly
- 22:37Speaker 2: like there's or giving him the Dark Savor, like there
- 22:39Speaker 2: were so many unexpected things about the show. I wouldn't
- 22:43Speaker 2: have really been surprised if this was it.
- 22:46Speaker 3: I I kind of thought to myself, where where do
- 22:49Speaker 3: they go next? You know, because the whole season the
- 22:52Speaker 3: series is kind of built around, you know, this lone
- 22:55Speaker 3: Wolf and cub idea, and if there's no cub, well
- 23:00Speaker 3: what do you do? And you know, it'll be interesting
- 23:03Speaker 3: as we dive into season three next week, you know,
- 23:05Speaker 3: to see how that does. And yeah, you know, I
- 23:13Speaker 3: do want to let everybody know too. We're not going
- 23:15Speaker 3: to be able to actually enter spurse the Boba Fette
- 23:21Speaker 3: episodes into this retrospective because we won't have the time.
- 23:26Speaker 3: But maybe we'll do a Boba fet retrospective at some
- 23:29Speaker 3: point and talk about that for everyone. And but yeah,
- 23:34Speaker 3: I mean I I definitely kind of thought to myself,
- 23:37Speaker 3: I think this might this could be just a two
- 23:39Speaker 3: season show. And I mean, at least I was satisfied
- 23:43Speaker 3: with the ending, but there were still so many things
- 23:46Speaker 3: that I wanted to know about that, you know, I
- 23:50Speaker 3: was glad that it wasn't.
- 23:51Speaker 2: Well, we'll see where that sentiment finds you or where
- 23:54Speaker 2: you find that sentiment when we get around to season three.
- 23:57Speaker 2: I guess, right, Matt, you know as we can to
- 24:00Speaker 2: you this rewatch huh right, yeah, this is true?
- 24:05Speaker 3: Yes, yes, well, John, if people wanted to catch up
- 24:10Speaker 3: with you talk about the end of season two or
- 24:12Speaker 3: anything else Star Wars, where do they find you?
- 24:15Speaker 2: Well, you can find me out there as Castle Junkie,
- 24:17Speaker 2: K S s E, L j U n Kie out
- 24:19Speaker 2: there on your social network of choice. But honestly, I
- 24:22Speaker 2: spend most of my time on Goodreads and Letterbox because
- 24:26Speaker 2: I love talking about books and movies and little else
- 24:30Speaker 2: in all honesty, because whatever my opinion is about books
- 24:33Speaker 2: and movies are all I can really affect in this world.
- 24:37Speaker 2: But also I appear on another show here on the
- 24:40Speaker 2: network called house Lights that I co host with Darren
- 24:43Speaker 2: Moser and Tristan Rodel, where I patiently instruct them on
- 24:48Speaker 2: everything that they need to know about film as we
- 24:51Speaker 2: examine the works of different directors through time. And I
- 24:54Speaker 2: frequently say stuff like this at the end of this
- 24:55Speaker 2: show just to see if they're paying attention, because honestly,
- 24:58Speaker 2: you know, it's it's it's my calling, it's sort of
- 25:01Speaker 2: my service in life. It's what the Lord has decided
- 25:05Speaker 2: to bestow upon me as this quest to educate them
- 25:09Speaker 2: in film.
- 25:11Speaker 3: You know, it is a tough job, but somebody had
- 25:13Speaker 3: to do it, and you were the best man for
- 25:15Speaker 3: the job.
- 25:16Speaker 2: So well, I don't know if I'm the right man,
- 25:18Speaker 2: but I'm definitely the most patient man to have to
- 25:21Speaker 2: put up with their shenanigans and their tomfoolery every single week.
- 25:25Speaker 2: But I love it. I love it. It's my cross
- 25:27Speaker 2: to bear. I take it upon myself. It's my noble cause. Yeah.
- 25:32Speaker 3: I mean, the Lord, you know, is just really trying
- 25:34Speaker 3: to sanctify you through this, you know, and he has so.
- 25:40Speaker 2: Oh, thank you, yes, thank you, thank you for recognizing
- 25:43Speaker 2: my sacrifice. It means a lot. But Matt, why don't
- 25:46Speaker 2: you tell everybody where they can find you? Out there
- 25:49Speaker 2: in the wilds of the Internet, including of course the
- 25:52Speaker 2: fact that you are the host of The six Zho
- 25:55Speaker 2: two Club, a show that I enjoyed appearing on as
- 25:58Speaker 2: a guest. It's the godfather of this show. It's the
- 26:01Speaker 2: origin point of this show, folks, was the six zho
- 26:03Speaker 2: two Club out there. But Matt, where can people find you?
- 26:06Speaker 3: You can find me all over social media under the
- 26:09Speaker 3: name Matt Rushing zero two. If I'm on the platform,
- 26:12Speaker 3: you'll find me there.
- 26:13Speaker 2: You know.
- 26:13Speaker 3: It's been fun. I've actually been thinking a lot about
- 26:16Speaker 3: letterboxes as well. This year. My goal is to see
- 26:20Speaker 3: fifty two brand new movies in the theater, so one
- 26:24Speaker 3: a week, and I have been able to keep that
- 26:26Speaker 3: up so far. And I've got a list of all
- 26:30Speaker 3: the things I've seen in the theaters here in twenty
- 26:33Speaker 3: twenty six. And as John so Clein youly mentioned, you
- 26:35Speaker 3: can find me over on the TFM network outside the
- 26:39Speaker 3: six oh two Club. Got a lot of great star
- 26:40Speaker 3: trek talk with my good friend Chris Jones. But John,
- 26:44Speaker 3: you know, I think they are serving Corelli and whiskey
- 26:47Speaker 3: tonight and some really nice Fallution cigars back at the
- 26:52Speaker 3: Jedi Temple. So I think it's time to close these negotiations.
- 26:56Speaker 2: Oh no, fallution cigars. Were they gifts from the emperor?
- 26:59Speaker 2: Oh no, Oh Matt, we got to warn everybody. They're
- 27:02Speaker 2: exploding cigars. I think it's time to close these negotiations.
- 27:20Speaker 3: Join the Revolution, Join the Nerd Party.
