- 0:11Speaker 1: Hey, everybody, welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark, a bonus episode
- 0:14Speaker 1: from Long Story Short the podcast. I'm Megan, I'm Wendy,
- 0:18Speaker 1: and today we are discussing our thoughts and opinions of
- 0:22Speaker 1: a royal runaway romance from the Hallmark Channel, part of
- 0:27Speaker 1: their Spring and to Love series. Before we get to that,
- 0:30Speaker 1: I'd like to invite each and every one of you
- 0:32Speaker 1: to join our exclusive, wonderful Facebook group just for Hallmark fans.
- 0:37Speaker 1: It's called Girls Gone Hallmark. Welcome you all there. There
- 0:41Speaker 1: was a link in our show notes, or you can
- 0:42Speaker 1: search for it on Facebook. I'm loving the interaction we're
- 0:45Speaker 1: getting in there. I know me too. There's some super
- 0:48Speaker 1: fans in there with a lot of inside information. Yes,
- 0:51Speaker 1: I love it, indeed agree, So hop on over and
- 0:55Speaker 1: join us over there. Let's talk about a royal runaway romance.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Would you like to start us off with a synopsis? Sure?
- 1:04Speaker 1: Princess Emelia of Bunbury travels across America to explore a
- 1:09Speaker 1: budding romance with an artist, only to fall in love
- 1:12Speaker 1: with her bodyguard, Grady. Wooo. I have Amelia and Grady
- 1:17Speaker 1: written in big bold letters across the top of my
- 1:19Speaker 1: page because I will never remember anything, I know. I yeah, agree,
- 1:25Speaker 1: except I remember Wes the Artist because she said Wess
- 1:28Speaker 1: a million times in this movie. Indeed, So let's talk
- 1:32Speaker 1: about some news and notes about this movie. I'm going
- 1:35Speaker 1: to admit my list is a little bit light mine too.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Not a ton of content out there about this movie.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Sometimes that tells us things about these that they're not
- 1:44Speaker 1: very good. But of course it was filmed in Vancouver
- 1:49Speaker 1: in February. I have a shooting began January thirty first
- 1:53Speaker 1: and wrapped February twenty first, four weeks. Oh that's a
- 1:58Speaker 1: long shooting schedule for a Hallmark kind of I thought
- 2:00Speaker 1: so too. And it was cold. We know that because
- 2:03Speaker 1: the actors told us, and we know it because we
- 2:05Speaker 1: can see their breath in many many scenes. I you know,
- 2:08Speaker 1: I didn't even notice. There's a scene where they're sit
- 2:11Speaker 1: standing outside talking with the B and B owners, and
- 2:14Speaker 1: all four of them you can see their breath as
- 2:16Speaker 1: they're chatting. Their chins are chattering. Her and Amelia is
- 2:20Speaker 1: in like a spring dress. That's funny. Funny, wrap that
- 2:26Speaker 1: crochet blanket around your shoulders. I mean, this movie is
- 2:29Speaker 1: notable for being it. Okay, the stars, she's Amelia her
- 2:34Speaker 1: name is Philippa Philippa. I'm a terrible enunciator of all things,
- 2:43Speaker 1: so Philippa Northeast. That's an interesting name anyway. This is
- 2:48Speaker 1: her first homework movie. Yeah. I actually thought she was
- 2:51Speaker 1: real cute. She's Australian. I enjoyed her as a new face.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Oh totally. I would welcome her back. I thought she
- 2:59Speaker 1: was this is a decent actress. Yeah. And then we
- 3:03Speaker 1: get brand Daughtry, who we know from The Baker's Son
- 3:07Speaker 1: on Hallmark, but I think he's probably most well known
- 3:11Speaker 1: from his role on Pretty Little Liars. Oh really, I
- 3:15Speaker 1: don't remember him being I only watched like the first
- 3:18Speaker 1: two seasons of The Jade Nol and he was in
- 3:21Speaker 1: twenty seven episodes of that show. I've never seen beyond
- 3:25Speaker 1: the first two or three episodes. But he looks like
- 3:30Speaker 1: is it Matt. We talked about this and when we
- 3:34Speaker 1: were reviewed the Baker son. Oh, Matt, Matt Bomber. Yeah
- 3:37Speaker 1: he does it looks like Matt Bohmer. Yeah. Yeah, I'm
- 3:41Speaker 1: a strong jawline. Yeah. What do you think about him
- 3:43Speaker 1: as an actor? I think he's real cute. I think
- 3:46Speaker 1: he is not top five Hallmark dude for me. I
- 3:53Speaker 1: think he could crack that. Though I find him charming
- 3:56Speaker 1: and sweet. I found his tweets very amusing. We'll get
- 3:58Speaker 1: to that label. Knowing someone in quotation marks, knowing them
- 4:02Speaker 1: outside of a movie always elevates them or I guess
- 4:06Speaker 1: it depends on how much I enjoy them, but enjoying
- 4:10Speaker 1: them outside of their movies elevates their performance in the movie.
- 4:14Speaker 1: For Gotcha, gotch you got you, got You. That's all
- 4:16Speaker 1: I have for news and notes. I don't have anything else. Well,
- 4:20Speaker 1: you did get the answer to your question that you
- 4:22Speaker 1: posed in the Spring and to Love preview episode which
- 4:27Speaker 1: is still available on our channel, which is where the
- 4:30Speaker 1: heck is Bunberry? I ask that, and that yes, and
- 4:36Speaker 1: I said it's a fake place, and you said, I know,
- 4:38Speaker 1: but where is it? Oh? Yeah? But did they ever say,
- 4:40Speaker 1: like we know that it's in Europe? Because when they
- 4:43Speaker 1: are in the bar nance and she is recognized, they go,
- 4:48Speaker 1: isn't that that princess from that country in Europe? From
- 4:52Speaker 1: that country? And Europe? I think they say from somewhere
- 4:55Speaker 1: in Europe, but they do say Europe. So that is
- 4:57Speaker 1: one mystery solved. I would never recognize any royal person ever,
- 5:04Speaker 1: other than Megan Markle. Maybe, Oh well, I watched every
- 5:09Speaker 1: episode of Suits, so i'd recognize me work as an actress,
- 5:13Speaker 1: I think, but not as like a princess. Imagine you're like,
- 5:17Speaker 1: let's say Disneyland. I think she's very recognizable. I would
- 5:21Speaker 1: recognize her. I recognize without an entourage. I would recognize her.
- 5:25Speaker 1: She was just there with like her two kids pushing
- 5:27Speaker 1: a stroller. Recognize Princess Kate as well? Really, yeah, are
- 5:31Speaker 1: you not into the Royal? I am zero percent into
- 5:34Speaker 1: what I recognize a Swedish royal, No, just the English one.
- 5:39Speaker 1: I would recognize Kate and Meghan, Yeah, I would, and
- 5:43Speaker 1: Harry and I think Will could easily blend into the
- 5:46Speaker 1: background and the Dad Jans's. It's so fascinating to me,
- 5:51Speaker 1: like why Americans are so interested in like royalty stories
- 5:57Speaker 1: And yeah, I just don't. Maybe it doesn't have royal
- 6:02Speaker 1: It does nothing for me though, Like I don't but
- 6:04Speaker 1: maybe like I was never that kid that like dreamed
- 6:07Speaker 1: about my wedding and like played fairytale stuff, Like maybe
- 6:11Speaker 1: it just is another thing. Yeah, I don't know. Maybe. Hm,
- 6:16Speaker 1: what was your first impression of this movie? My first
- 6:21Speaker 1: impression of Royal Runaway Romance. Was that the movie poster
- 6:25Speaker 1: told me that this one was going to be bad,
- 6:26Speaker 1: and it was. Oh huh. I will leave a photo
- 6:31Speaker 1: of it in our show notes. I just thought that
- 6:35Speaker 1: it was bad. The movie poster was bad. It was
- 6:39Speaker 1: very tail tale, and the movie lived up to that
- 6:43Speaker 1: lack of expectation for you. Yes, I said, this is
- 6:49Speaker 1: the hallmark we've been missing, and not in a good way.
- 6:55Speaker 1: And I think you know what I mean, and we'll
- 6:57Speaker 1: explore it a little bit more. Okay, all right, all right, good.
- 7:02Speaker 1: There were plenty of things I liked about this movie.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Oh Colling, Well, look, I liked the Mustang. I thought
- 7:06Speaker 1: it was a fun set piece and fun fact that
- 7:10Speaker 1: is the same Mustang driven by Tyler Hines as Luke
- 7:13Speaker 1: in Roadhouse Roaming. Thank You, another alliterative movie title. I
- 7:19Speaker 1: liked that movie. I did too. I liked Lauren Milna
- 7:22Speaker 1: quite a bit as well. It's a cool car. I'm
- 7:25Speaker 1: not really like a car person. I know lots of
- 7:27Speaker 1: people are like I drove a sixty five Mustang. Yeah,
- 7:30Speaker 1: I mean for me, like the convertible was it a
- 7:33Speaker 1: convertible or no? Yeah, I mean that's a Brandon Walsh car. Totally.
- 7:36Speaker 1: And I'm talking about Beverly Hills nine o two and
- 7:39Speaker 1: oh circa thirty freaking years ago. But yeah, yeah, that's
- 7:42Speaker 1: that kind of Yeah. This like baby blue Mustang, was
- 7:45Speaker 1: kind of cool. However, have you ever written in a convertible?
- 7:47Speaker 1: That is a good question. Yes, I have it. My
- 7:50Speaker 1: hair gets all crazy and nodded and out for sure
- 7:52Speaker 1: now that I think the top up is top is
- 7:54Speaker 1: up in most of this movie. But they're loud. I
- 7:57Speaker 1: would never choose a sixty five for a cross country
- 8:01Speaker 1: road trip because it is going to be loud. The
- 8:04Speaker 1: car is loud, or the with the convertible down as loud. No,
- 8:08Speaker 1: even with it up, because you've got a soft top,
- 8:10Speaker 1: there's no so you're hearing like a road noise and
- 8:14Speaker 1: like the wind battering the car. And oh no, yeah,
- 8:18Speaker 1: I like. I like a really insulated driving experience. Likes
- 8:21Speaker 1: a real roomy suv with no sound from the It's
- 8:25Speaker 1: not even so much that I like the suv, but
- 8:27Speaker 1: I do. I don't want four days of drag. Yeah
- 8:33Speaker 1: I hear you, No thanks, no thanks. That car doesn't
- 8:35Speaker 1: even have like a real radio in it, you know
- 8:37Speaker 1: what I mean, Unless it's been like it probably has radio,
- 8:40Speaker 1: That's what I'm talking about. Like you can't, like with
- 8:42Speaker 1: a dial that you turned serious satellite radio on in it. No,
- 8:47Speaker 1: you can't even like plug in your phone, like there's
- 8:49Speaker 1: no bluetooth in there though nothing Correro and they just
- 8:53Speaker 1: have to talk to each other the entire time. Well,
- 8:55Speaker 1: they do dance at some point, so there must be
- 8:57Speaker 1: some music. The dance very badly, but oh i'd see it.
- 9:02Speaker 1: I didn't. I don't listen. I watched. It's that she
- 9:05Speaker 1: basically cabbage patches. It's very bad, like in the car.
- 9:10Speaker 1: In the car, she did it like seet dancing. Yea, yeah,
- 9:13Speaker 1: oh funny. Okay, that's funny. Are we on to the
- 9:16Speaker 1: liked part? Yes, ma'am okay. The scene where they stop
- 9:21Speaker 1: at the Nevada diner, uh huh. I only liked it
- 9:25Speaker 1: because it was reminiscent of when we drove to Las Vegas,
- 9:28Speaker 1: and as you said that, I just remembered that we
- 9:30Speaker 1: stopped at a random roadside diner too, and like it
- 9:34Speaker 1: gave me the same feels. It was in the middle
- 9:37Speaker 1: of nowhere. We had apple pie. Mm hmmm. Yes, it
- 9:42Speaker 1: was windying hot, very windy. Yeah, if we can locate
- 9:46Speaker 1: that picture. We'll drop it in the show notes. Yeah
- 9:48Speaker 1: for sure. Yeah, that's that made me laugh when they
- 9:51Speaker 1: stopped there. That's funny. I didn't recall that moment watching
- 9:56Speaker 1: the movie, but the second you said it, I can,
- 9:59Speaker 1: I can. I remember everything about that. Yes, So on
- 10:03Speaker 1: the road trip of many green screens, what I liked
- 10:09Speaker 1: were all of the both physical and digital state sign transitions.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that was cute. I thought that was a
- 10:16Speaker 1: really cute addition. My family has been known to take
- 10:20Speaker 1: a road trip or two, and whenever possible, my husband
- 10:24Speaker 1: really loves to pull over and take photos at the course. Yes, yes, yes,
- 10:28Speaker 1: sometimes it's very hard to do. I always feel like
- 10:30Speaker 1: this is not allowed. I always am afraid we're going
- 10:33Speaker 1: to get in trouble. But certainly that's the thing people do.
- 10:37Speaker 1: And sometimes they're not in a good location, so you
- 10:39Speaker 1: can't get to know because someone from California to Arizona
- 10:42Speaker 1: is like not a place that you can pull over
- 10:45Speaker 1: and take a picture. Yeah, it's like on a crossing bridge. Yeah,
- 10:50Speaker 1: so sometimes it doesn't work, but we've taken a picture
- 10:52Speaker 1: in front of many of those. I just I liked that.
- 10:55Speaker 1: I liked that detail. Well done. That's very cute. I
- 10:59Speaker 1: enjoyed when they were at the county fair. I thought
- 11:01Speaker 1: it was really sweet. Made me wish we had like
- 11:03Speaker 1: things like that where we live. Like we have county fairs, guys,
- 11:07Speaker 1: but it's not like the sweet little town county fair. Yeah.
- 11:12Speaker 1: It's enormous and expensive and your wait in line for
- 11:16Speaker 1: forty five minutes for people there. Yeah. Yeah, agree. I
- 11:20Speaker 1: would like a small, little city county fair. Yeah, a
- 11:24Speaker 1: little city county fair with like a little band and
- 11:26Speaker 1: like yeah, like it would just be so cute. Yeah,
- 11:30Speaker 1: do I need to move to a small town? Look,
- 11:32Speaker 1: let's do it. Okay, come on, all right, I you
- 11:37Speaker 1: know we're gonna say it, guys. I love bj Harrison
- 11:40Speaker 1: thrilled to see her in two movies this month. We
- 11:42Speaker 1: most recently saw her in Second Chance at Love as Mima.
- 11:47Speaker 1: We get her again as Rosemary. She's just this voice
- 11:51Speaker 1: of reason, kind warm spot in the movie. She was
- 11:55Speaker 1: very sweet to Amelia, kind of almost the man figure
- 12:00Speaker 1: that Amelia doesn't have. Oh yeah, for sure. I'm just
- 12:04Speaker 1: I'm always happy to see her on screen. I mean,
- 12:06Speaker 1: I think she says yes to everything, right, sure, She's like,
- 12:09Speaker 1: you want me to work for a day? Okay. I
- 12:11Speaker 1: wonder if like the money is worth it, because if
- 12:13Speaker 1: she has to go to Vancouver, do they stop to
- 12:15Speaker 1: like isolate when they get there. I don't know. But
- 12:17Speaker 1: they're getting paid, They're not like they're getting flown there.
- 12:21Speaker 1: I don't like she's flying the Vancouver on her own dime.
- 12:23Speaker 1: I get it, but it's just like a lot, like
- 12:26Speaker 1: I'm gonna work for one day, but I gotta travel
- 12:28Speaker 1: to Vancouver and then I gotta do this, and it's
- 12:31Speaker 1: gotta be worth it. Sure got like a stipend, like
- 12:34Speaker 1: a three hundred dollars stipend. Sure it has to be
- 12:36Speaker 1: worth it. I would imagine they're making it worth her time.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Put BJ Harrison in a lead role, give her a
- 12:42Speaker 1: starring role justice for BJ. Yes. I like the uncle
- 12:46Speaker 1: Andrea spell. I thought he was supportive and fun. He
- 12:50Speaker 1: was played by Vincent Gale, who has like a real
- 12:53Speaker 1: deep resume, but like nothing I'm familiar with. Yeah, he
- 12:57Speaker 1: was not familiar to me at all. No, but I
- 12:59Speaker 1: enjoyed it. Also. I liked him. He was like, yes,
- 13:02Speaker 1: get her out of it. I don't know, it was
- 13:03Speaker 1: just cute, like he's like you could take this car. Yes,
- 13:06Speaker 1: he was the nice foil to her queen mother and
- 13:10Speaker 1: I liked their relationship me too. I thought the artist
- 13:14Speaker 1: Wes was kind of cute. Oh and it was really
- 13:19Speaker 1: kind of interesting to me how like they connected or
- 13:23Speaker 1: did they actually kiss at one point? I think they did,
- 13:27Speaker 1: like super early on. I think he's played by Andre Anthony,
- 13:31Speaker 1: and I thought he looked really familiar, but like he
- 13:34Speaker 1: has like a handful of like TV movies and stuff,
- 13:37Speaker 1: but nothing I've seen. So he was in like a
- 13:40Speaker 1: couple episodes of Riverdale, but I haven't watched that many,
- 13:44Speaker 1: so I wouldn't have been from there. I meant to
- 13:48Speaker 1: mention this you mentioning Wes's resume. Did you know Brent
- 13:53Speaker 1: Daughtry is also a writer. He and his wife wrote
- 14:01Speaker 1: a Christmas movie, Christmas, which was a twenty nineteen Hallmark
- 14:05Speaker 1: movie that was pre Girl's Gone Hamewark. So no, I
- 14:08Speaker 1: didn't know. Yes, his wife's name is Kimberly Daughtry. They
- 14:11Speaker 1: do have a son, and Brandt and Kimberly both star
- 14:14Speaker 1: in that movie. Oh wow, interesting, So that isn't out
- 14:17Speaker 1: of place and news a note. I'm sorry, I just
- 14:19Speaker 1: didn't make my list, but it was in my head. Hmmm. Interesting,
- 14:23Speaker 1: and his Twitter bio says that he is a soon
- 14:27Speaker 1: to be director. Oh of a Hallmark movie. You think
- 14:31Speaker 1: I would imagine keep it in the family. Okay, okay, Hey,
- 14:35Speaker 1: what did you wish for? Less car scenes? The green
- 14:39Speaker 1: screen is so bad, bad, bad, bad, bad bad. Yeah.
- 14:44Speaker 1: You know, they had some great filming locations. They managed
- 14:47Speaker 1: to take all of these places in Vancouver, and they
- 14:50Speaker 1: made it look like they were on a rant. They
- 14:51Speaker 1: made it look like they were in a small town.
- 14:53Speaker 1: They made it look like they're, you know, in all
- 14:56Speaker 1: of these places. And yet so spend more time I'm there.
- 15:00Speaker 1: I don't really need all of the in car interactions.
- 15:03Speaker 1: All of those conversations could have happened in a diner,
- 15:06Speaker 1: could have happened at a coffee shop. I find the
- 15:10Speaker 1: green screen flying via the windows to be very distracting.
- 15:15Speaker 1: You're on a sound stage and you got a digital window.
- 15:17Speaker 1: I boo boo. I want to add a note from
- 15:22Speaker 1: our Facebook group. Michael says that he thought the very
- 15:25Speaker 1: mountainous depiction of Nebraska was laughable. Oh is Nebraska flat?
- 15:31Speaker 1: Nebraska is flat? Good to know. I've never been there.
- 15:34Speaker 1: I don't know the great planes of Nebraska, do they
- 15:38Speaker 1: get a lot of tornadoes whipping through those planes that
- 15:40Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know either that I don't know.
- 15:42Speaker 1: I wished West starts out as this dreamy artist who
- 15:49Speaker 1: Amelia's falling for, and then he leaves, goes home, and
- 15:54Speaker 1: it is a very sharp one eighty from Wes the sweet,
- 16:00Speaker 1: dreamy artist to West the kind of a dick. I
- 16:06Speaker 1: thought so too, And I thought they needed to ramp
- 16:09Speaker 1: up to that a little bit because we know that
- 16:12Speaker 1: Wes is not the endgame in this movie. We know
- 16:15Speaker 1: that it's Grady. But the second she calls Wes, when
- 16:20Speaker 1: she's in the car with Grady, even before that, when
- 16:22Speaker 1: she's headed to California, and basically he's like, yeah, I
- 16:26Speaker 1: can't make it work. Now. Not that I, on a
- 16:29Speaker 1: very practical level, don't understand that someone who's an artist
- 16:31Speaker 1: who has a show in a week probably can't fly
- 16:33Speaker 1: out to California. This is a Hallmark movie. I can
- 16:36Speaker 1: suspend my disbelief on many things. I needed him to
- 16:41Speaker 1: give a little bit more. I did not need me
- 16:43Speaker 1: to immediately start rooting against Wes. I wanted a little
- 16:46Speaker 1: bit more attention in the is it Wes or is
- 16:49Speaker 1: it Grady? Yeah, yeah, yeah, because I know it's Grady. Sure,
- 16:53Speaker 1: so give me some tention. Yeah, make me wonder maybe
- 16:56Speaker 1: she should be with Wes. Yeah yeah, And there was
- 16:58Speaker 1: none of that, you know, I just thought it was funny.
- 17:01Speaker 1: The casting of Wes is like, I get the whole movie,
- 17:04Speaker 1: but I would think, like somebody who was hired to
- 17:06Speaker 1: paint this like Royal Portrait is the older Yeah, like
- 17:12Speaker 1: a more established like somebody who does all those Yeah.
- 17:18Speaker 1: I don't know, agree, but that's hard to then create
- 17:22Speaker 1: a Yeah, I love shrining unless she's falling for some
- 17:26Speaker 1: dude that's like thirty years her senior, you know, right, Yeah,
- 17:30Speaker 1: I hear you, I hear you. I have a question, Sure,
- 17:34Speaker 1: who really drives from LA to Chicago? Does a long drive?
- 17:38Speaker 1: So the Internet tells me you'd be like four to
- 17:40Speaker 1: five days. To me, I feel it's like that's like
- 17:42Speaker 1: a ten day trip. I couldn't do it. Could you
- 17:46Speaker 1: do it? You do road trips with your family like this,
- 17:49Speaker 1: But we've driven, We've taken a number of road trips,
- 17:53Speaker 1: but we've taken a couple that were like two thousand
- 17:55Speaker 1: miles of driving. But that's over a ten to fourteen
- 17:58Speaker 1: day period where there's multiple stops and multiple things to
- 18:01Speaker 1: do along the way. Would I just if my destination
- 18:04Speaker 1: were Chicago, I would get on an airplane, right. But
- 18:09Speaker 1: that's what like, like frustrates me. It's like, oh, let
- 18:11Speaker 1: me hold on to your passports because you're a child,
- 18:14Speaker 1: and I can't, you know, trust you with your passport.
- 18:18Speaker 1: So that is what I didn't like is that they
- 18:21Speaker 1: do make Amelia very childlike in this movie. And I
- 18:25Speaker 1: think that a royal would have a lot of education
- 18:28Speaker 1: in the ways the world is in other places. Yeah,
- 18:32Speaker 1: you know, if Will and Kate are going to go
- 18:35Speaker 1: on a tour of America, they're going to be very
- 18:36Speaker 1: well educated of what life is like. They're not going
- 18:39Speaker 1: to make them look like the bumbling bumpkins from another
- 18:42Speaker 1: country who are like this is Soliday. Yeah, exactly, Like
- 18:46Speaker 1: you're telling me they don't have breakfast all day like
- 18:48Speaker 1: in Europe. I'm sure they do. I mean, there's one
- 18:51Speaker 1: thing to enjoy and be charmed by a place and
- 18:54Speaker 1: another thing to be completely shocked. You've never heard of
- 19:00Speaker 1: us more? Yeah? Have you ever? Are you not a
- 19:04Speaker 1: reader of books or a watcher of television? Yeah, it
- 19:08Speaker 1: just seems like she would have more knowledge than this.
- 19:11Speaker 1: I agree, don't make her such a dummy. Yeah, exactly,
- 19:16Speaker 1: I'm gonna say something maybe controversial. Oh, I can't wait.
- 19:19Speaker 1: I thought Brady was kind of a dud. Oh no,
- 19:22Speaker 1: I mean, he's super handsome, but he wasn't like super dynamic. Interesting.
- 19:28Speaker 1: I'm gonna go camping boring. You know that's so funny.
- 19:34Speaker 1: I knew your opinion of this movie before I watched it.
- 19:37Speaker 1: I as I said in my first impression, this is
- 19:41Speaker 1: the Hallmark movie we've been missing. And what I mean
- 19:43Speaker 1: by that is, I think this year we have gotten
- 19:47Speaker 1: a leveled up Hallmark experience. We've gotten a number of
- 19:52Speaker 1: movies that are better than I've expected. Yes, I agree,
- 19:55Speaker 1: and I've been very happy with that. This movie feels
- 19:58Speaker 1: like standard Hallmark. It was neither great, but not terrible,
- 20:03Speaker 1: and I enjoyed watching it. I didn't. I have watched
- 20:08Speaker 1: many Hallmark movies that I found were painful to watch.
- 20:11Speaker 1: I couldn't wait for them to be over. I didn't
- 20:13Speaker 1: feel like that with this movie. I agree. I mean,
- 20:17Speaker 1: I think I'm trying to make it out as it
- 20:19Speaker 1: being one of those painful movies. It wasn't. I wasn't
- 20:22Speaker 1: swooning for their romance. I wasn't creating a T shirt
- 20:27Speaker 1: design based on some hashtag I've made up for these two.
- 20:31Speaker 1: But I do think it's standard Hallmark decent, fair, not
- 20:39Speaker 1: Hallmark two point zero. Got it. That's what I thought
- 20:42Speaker 1: about this for. Did you see that? Yeah? I found
- 20:46Speaker 1: myself lacking in the funny takes. Oh, interesting, you have
- 20:52Speaker 1: a lot. I just have some notes, and I have
- 20:54Speaker 1: a few notes from the Facebook group too. Okay, I'm
- 20:58Speaker 1: just going to tell you what I did, and then
- 20:59Speaker 1: I want to hear your notes. I went to Twitter
- 21:02Speaker 1: and I have some tweet insight, but I want to
- 21:04Speaker 1: hear your notes first. So it's not that I have
- 21:06Speaker 1: nothing to say here, Okay, I just took a little
- 21:10Speaker 1: bit of a departure. Okay, Well, first step, I'm gonna
- 21:13Speaker 1: share a note from Michelle from the Facebook group, and
- 21:16Speaker 1: she said, how did she have all the right clothes
- 21:19Speaker 1: packed for this road trip? Right? So this is funny
- 21:22Speaker 1: that you say that I read that tweet before I
- 21:24Speaker 1: watched the movie, and then here she is in the
- 21:26Speaker 1: perfect horseback writing outfit. You're telling me the princess pack jeans. Yeah,
- 21:31Speaker 1: she had a duffel bag when she was trying to
- 21:33Speaker 1: steal that suv or whatever. You know. Yeah, I mean
- 21:36Speaker 1: that would have been enough room for pajamas and like
- 21:39Speaker 1: some hair products, Like I not enough clothes to give away? No, no, no,
- 21:45Speaker 1: I'm like she had a jacket on that night that
- 21:49Speaker 1: they were sent by the fire. Oh see, this isn't
- 21:52Speaker 1: gonna resonate with you, but she wears that a couple
- 21:56Speaker 1: of times. She wears like an olive green jacket with them,
- 21:58Speaker 1: and when she goes back to Grady at the end,
- 22:02Speaker 1: she's wearing like a white T shirt, olive green jacket, jeans.
- 22:05Speaker 1: That's very much uh dutchess cake casual. Oh goodness. Another
- 22:10Speaker 1: note from the group. This is from Rena. She asks
- 22:15Speaker 1: how did she think she was gonna get all the
- 22:17Speaker 1: way to Chicago with no money? Yeah, even like any gas.
- 22:22Speaker 1: She's gonna steal that suv and have like no money
- 22:26Speaker 1: for gas. Yeah. This again goes back to her not
- 22:32Speaker 1: kind of being a bumbling idiot, like did she have
- 22:33Speaker 1: a phone that you She does have a phone, because
- 22:36Speaker 1: she ignores her mother's phone. Oh that's right, Okay, so
- 22:38Speaker 1: she's just gonna use that for GPS. She's just gonna
- 22:40Speaker 1: apple pay her way to the maybe she's gonna use
- 22:47Speaker 1: Apple pay and the little Nevada diner they're gonna be
- 22:50Speaker 1: like no, yeah, cash only. There was a scene where
- 22:54Speaker 1: the queen is outside and she invites a mil yes,
- 23:00Speaker 1: and somebody's holding an umbrella over the queen and the
- 23:04Speaker 1: little table for tea because it's raining, but there's like
- 23:10Speaker 1: a overhead, like an overhang that they could be sitting under. Yes,
- 23:15Speaker 1: why but then Amelia sits down and there's no umbrella. Yeah,
- 23:19Speaker 1: Amelia exactly. I'm like, so I was trying to think.
- 23:22Speaker 1: I was like, is that guy holding an umbrella big
- 23:24Speaker 1: enough to like cover the is it a Tommy Bahama
- 23:27Speaker 1: like beach umbrellas? And it's not because it pulls back
- 23:30Speaker 1: and you can see the umbrella is only over the
- 23:32Speaker 1: cor Yeah. Why would she choose to have tea in
- 23:35Speaker 1: the rain? And she even says like thanks for coming
- 23:38Speaker 1: out in the rain. Why didn't they shoot that scene
- 23:42Speaker 1: underneath the thing? I don't know, it didn't make any sense.
- 23:46Speaker 1: Is it supposed to drive home? How regal? She is
- 23:48Speaker 1: like she has her own umbrella holder. I don't know.
- 23:51Speaker 1: So stupid stupid? Yeah? Hold, oh okay, So when they're
- 23:58Speaker 1: in that Nevada diner. Yeah, the server was like talking,
- 24:05Speaker 1: and Amelia thought it was so funny that she would
- 24:07Speaker 1: say y'all and fixens. But that's Nevada. People won't talk
- 24:12Speaker 1: like that Nevada. That's a good point. That's like a
- 24:14Speaker 1: southern state thing, like a Georgia Nashville. Yeah. Grady's like, yeah,
- 24:22Speaker 1: what did she say all the extras or all the
- 24:26Speaker 1: Oh yeah, what was it? Add ons? Add ons? Yeah?
- 24:29Speaker 1: I was like, we don't call them add ons. We
- 24:30Speaker 1: call them fixens. And I was like, no, but we don't.
- 24:32Speaker 1: But we don't call them fixens. I've never used that
- 24:35Speaker 1: word here. Maybe like if we were in was just barbecue, Like,
- 24:39Speaker 1: oh never condiments? Right, get we call everything catch up.
- 24:45Speaker 1: And then lastly, you know, Grady is hired basically as
- 24:49Speaker 1: her bodyguard, right, and then when they get to Chicago,
- 24:52Speaker 1: he's like, peace, like she's on her own. Apparently, yes,
- 24:55Speaker 1: I agree, hands are off to Wes and apparently West
- 24:58Speaker 1: is in charge now dumb Yeah, okay, I'd like to
- 25:03Speaker 1: start with some tweets. The first is a brand Daughtry
- 25:06Speaker 1: tweet in which he has Hallmark has shared a teaser
- 25:11Speaker 1: of this movie, and one of the scenes in the
- 25:13Speaker 1: teaser is shirtless Wes, excuse me shirtless Grady and Brant
- 25:19Speaker 1: Daughtry says, I worked really hard to get ready for
- 25:21Speaker 1: this shirtless scene, and that means you're required to watch
- 25:23Speaker 1: the movie this Saturday. I don't make the rules. I
- 25:25Speaker 1: thought that was funny. I don't. That's a completely unremarkable
- 25:30Speaker 1: scene to me. I don't even remember him without a shirt.
- 25:32Speaker 1: He's brushing his teeth and she walks and goes, oh,
- 25:34Speaker 1: and then the next scene she's like, nice shirt, he
- 25:37Speaker 1: goes looks even better on and any other channel other
- 25:39Speaker 1: than Hallmark would have taken that joke to the next level.
- 25:42Speaker 1: Hunks of Hallmark tweeted who needs Wes when Grady's around?
- 25:45Speaker 1: And Tulsa Baby responded well, Brandt Daughtry's kissing scene didn't disappoint.
- 25:49Speaker 1: He always looks like he's really into it, waiting for
- 25:51Speaker 1: the sequels, seeing the rest of us via Tulsa then
- 25:54Speaker 1: off to being king. Oh, that's funny, that would be
- 25:58Speaker 1: interesting Tulsa. Come on, that's funny. He wouldn't be accepted
- 26:02Speaker 1: because he was an American and his fixens. Here's a
- 26:07Speaker 1: tweet that I don't agree with. This is from Fly
- 26:10Speaker 1: Easy and Free only fifteen minutes left, and I think
- 26:13Speaker 1: a royal runaway romance just I just had a royal
- 26:16Speaker 1: runaway romance. I think a royal runaway romance just secured
- 26:22Speaker 1: itself in my top spot of Hallmark Channel's twenty twenty
- 26:25Speaker 1: two movies. No, no, have you watched any of the others? Yeah? Again,
- 26:30Speaker 1: I don't think it was bad, but it doesn't spot,
- 26:34Speaker 1: not even top three. I am so sorry to hear
- 26:37Speaker 1: one final tweet Hallmark blissed tweets and he knows how
- 26:41Speaker 1: to ride a horse, Emelia, marry this man now, to
- 26:44Speaker 1: which Brant Daughtry himself replies, My horse is apparently super famous.
- 26:47Speaker 1: He's in the new Jurassic Park movie. I tried to
- 26:49Speaker 1: get his autograph, but I made it weird. I don't
- 26:52Speaker 1: think he's very funny. Are some serious dad jokes? Dude? No,
- 26:58Speaker 1: thank you. I love a dead joke. He's not doing
- 27:04Speaker 1: it for me. Those tweets really just put it over
- 27:07Speaker 1: the top for me too, Dad City. Sorry, I am
- 27:11Speaker 1: very afraid for this next part. Okay, time to rate
- 27:14Speaker 1: this movie. Are we doing it? I love it when
- 27:16Speaker 1: we do it together? Now? Three dude, one two stars?
- 27:21Speaker 1: Oh god, no, three star Wolf Now, guys, you gotta
