Turkey Creek Preserve Expands to 1,000 Acres | Birmingham News
Turkey Creek Nature Preserve just hit 1,000 acres thanks to a major expansion—328 new acres secured by Forever Wild Land Trust, including land from The Nature Conservancy and a private 80-acre parcel. Now the third Jefferson County preserve to reach this milestone, it’s a conservation win for rare species like the endangered Vermilion Darter, while also opening up more trails and access for the public to enjoy old-growth longleaf pines and mature forests.
