Jen: Brum. it was good. I always reel Shaun: Through the window. Jen: it in. Reel it in. Shaun: The way you said like Barry: my gosh. Here Shaun: automatically to the window, to the wall Jen: So the wow, Barry: we go. Jen: so the sweat no Shaun: to the s Jen: You know you can't do that. We have to reel it in. Okay. Shaun: my bad. Okay. You're weak, sorry. I know, right? Barry: Yeah, crazy Jen: yeah, I feel like every time we come to these things and it's my turn first, I'm always like, what did I do? I can't remember. I really can't remember the week. I remember it being busy and we had some showings for the house, so it was kind of chaotic. But we did get to go to Dallas to see some family. so that was fun. Just a nice little trip up and back. We actually just got back earlier Barry: How's traffic? Jen: today. Awful. Both ways. Barry: Mmm. Jen: it literally took us my gosh. Shaun: It's thirty five. How do you think it was Barry: 35 that crap shoot bro Jen: And normally we go the night before we're actually like planning on being there. And we drive late at night because the kids sleep. Usually there's less traffic and it's a lot faster. This was not it this time. We hit traffic Barry: like construction. Jen: everywhere. It was construction, it was accidents, it was nonsense. Like every single place, even in the middle of nowhere, just nothing. And it literally took us like nine hours almost to get there. Which yes, I'm telling you, we left we left at five. Barry: my gosh. Nine. Shaun: What literally? Jen: Maybe I'm traumatic. We left at five thirty, like a little before five thirty. We didn't get there until one o'clock in the morning. Barry: No, that's eight hours. Not much of an exaggeration. That sounds brutal. Shaun: Jeeze. Jen: Yes, yes. Not much of an exaggeration. Shaun: What Jen: Yes. It was brutal. Shaun: the heck? Jen: Let me tell ya. It was brutal. Barry: Dude, that's the worst. Shaun: It'd been better off flying. Jen: literally, I know. yeah. And even on the way back we hit f but yeah. I know. Barry: I mean it would have cost like five times more but yeah. I don't know gas is insane but so yeah that happened Shaun: Right? Spending that amount of time on the road, golly. Barry: to us one time we were driving up there for Thanksgiving we went the day before Thanksgiving. Becca's dad used to live in Cedar Hill outside Jen: Mm. Barry: of Dallas. Yo it was like seven hours it was brutal. Jen: Brutal. Shaun: Absolutely not. I will turn around and come back. Barry: There was no traffic like jams. It was just these. Yeah. dude. Yeah, bro. That's brutal. Jen: Literally was like, we have to stop on the way there and like stay in a hotel. It's getting so late. Like, if Shaun: Right. Jen: we hit one more traffic section, like we're really gonna have to just get a random hotel somewhere. Way go's been really bad. Yeah. Every single time. That was one place we hit on the b way back to. Yeah. Yep. Barry: Well, Waco's usually bad lately. feel like that usually has a horrible spot. Yeah. Yeah, Temple used to be bad, but yeah, I feel like now Waco, man, it's the worst. Shaun: Jeez. Or Waco sucks. Yeah. For a while it was Temple, now it's Waco. Yeah. Jen: And it's always right by the stadium for like that section that's right by the stadium. And they have it down to like one lane for whatever reason. Barry: Yep. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. All those businesses and the school, yeah. Yeah, it gets bad. But how was Dallas? Jen: I don't know. Yes. Yes. Yeah. But I mean it was it was good. It was a fun trip. I was really jealous because Kenny's best friend and who's the family who lives there and who we go see, it was his birthday. And so him and Kenny went to s watch the Man United game at the co the Cosm. Have you ever seen clips of the Cosm? Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Barry: is that like the one that's like a bubble or like a kind of mini sphere and it like looks like you're really there? Jen: Yes. Barry: It looks really dope. That's awesome. Yeah, I do want to check out a sporting event there. Jen: So they yeah, they loved it. They said it was so cool. I wanted to take the kids because Shaun: I know what you're talking about. Jen: they show like Willy Wonka in the chocolate factory and they show Harry Potter. Barry: That's cool Jen: but all of the Harry Potter time slots were sold out the whole time we were there. So I was like, all right, one of these times we'll get in there and see it. But but yeah. Barry: And where is it? Jen: It's like forty five minutes from Aubrey where we were at. So it's like right in Dallas somewhere. Barry: the next time we go man it looks dope Jen: Yeah, but they said it was a yeah, they said it was really, really cool. Shaun: Yeah, it does look really cool. Jen: It is a little pricey, especially depending on what you're going to see. I know the games were pricier than the actual movies. Barry: Really? Jen: yes. Yeah. No. Mm-mm. Shaun: That's not a surprise, honestly. Yeah. Barry: How much is it if you don't mind me asking? Jen: Hey babe. I was like, I don't know. I wanna say when we l first looked it up, it also depends on the seats because they have like bar top seats, then they have like couches. Barry: If you don't know, it's all good. No, you're good. Don't, don't bother Kenny. I'm cool. I was just curious. I've seen it. I'm curious. Shaun: Maybe. Jen: And the couch seats were like a hundred each. I w Barry: Give me a bar top. Give me the cheapest seat in the house. Jen: I wanna say they were like fifty, maybe. How much were the Cosms Barry: Yo. Jen: tickets? Seventy five. But they were like the not good. Yeah. For the not Barry: That's just to get in the door. Jen: n well it's yeah, it's just to be there. It's not like your drinks or anything. Yeah, it's yeah. But he said it was worth it. It wasn't worth it. Yeah. Like I like it's definitely worth to go once and then like going to see a playoff game or Super Bowl. Barry: Yeah, so it's like going to an event. OK, but now it looks really dope like I really do want to check it out like so. Yo for real going to a live sporting event versus spending $75 and be feeling like you're almost at a live sporting event. Sign me Shaun: that's very cool. Mm-hmm. Barry: up like Shaun: Yeah. Barry: sure. Jen: Yeah. Man mud mud wrestling, which I'm sure would be interesting. But yeah, it's w it was Shaun: And it's indoors. Barry: And it's indoor if you're going to a football event or a soccer event. Shaun: Yes. Barry: Like I want to check out an NBA one like have a courtside view or something. That would be dope. Let's go. I'm down bro. Jen: Yeah, e exactly. Yeah. Like Shaun: Dude, let's take a trip. I'm down. Jen: to see that's what he was just saying is like to see like Shaun: Let's go. Dude. Jen: the Super Bowl or a championship game or something like that. Yeah. Yeah. I'm sure those would be pricey and go fast. But if you can snag the tickets, it's worth the go. The Cosm? C Barry: you know the Super Bowl is probably like sold out for I'm sorry, the bowl, the big game, whatever we have to bleep that out. Anyways, I'm sure that one's yeah, that would be dope. And what's it called? Cosm. Shaun: yeah, that's yeah. The big game, yeah. Jen: O S Cosm? I think that's how you say it. But Barry: We'll have to check it out. I'm down bro. Is there one closer? That's the closest one. Not even Houston? for real? Dang. That's dope. I actually watched that game. It was a really good game. Did it in the tie? Am I crazy? Right. Shaun: I don't think so. I think that's the only one in Texas. Yeah. Yeah. Jen: No. It is. Mm-mm. Mm-mm. Yeah. Yeah. Well, at least for now. And I feel like they're becoming more popular. It did. He was very upset about it, but yes. It did. Shaun: Dang soccer. Barry: That was a good game. Jen: I know. And then I had Barry: That was a good game. Jen: to, like I already texted you guys, I had to sit there and listen to another Ronaldo versus Messi argument. It got very heated. Shaun: Because Messi's the goat. Barry: I mean, that's what I've Jen: Yeah. Barry: heard. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: I really don't know if I can take another one, y'all. Mm mm. I can't do it. Barry: I really don't care. Shaun: I Barry: I just like messing with you, Jen. No, I don't either. Shaun: I don't have a dog in that race, so it doesn't matter to me. Jen: so funny. But yeah, that was my that was my weekend. What about y'all? Barry: I always gotta like think day by day. Jen: I know, I literally like go blank. I'm like, what did I even do? I have no clue. Barry: think we had an Saturday. Like I did some Saturday. yeah. I had invited our co-host here to go with me, but he blew me off. Jen: Ew. And for somebody who always wants to hang out Shaun: Did first of all, I did not blow you off. I didn't Jen: and gets upset when you hang out with other people. Barry: I invited him to a pro UT viewing party and he shot, I'm joking. He didn't blow Shaun: I did not blow you off. Jen: Same. Barry: me off. He told me what he had planned and that's cool. But yeah, I went to watch with some of the woman I used to coach with basketball before I came over. Jen: Hm. You just went like to a restaurant or what? Barry: No, no, no to their spot. Jen: okay. Barry: couple of coaches that I actually play basketball over there. It was not a good ending if you're in Shaun's neck of the woods cheering section. Jen: no, my seventeen versus thirty-eight didn't show out. Barry: I thought it could happen, Shaun: No. Barry: but then it didn't. Jen: Down. Barry: It was a really good game and I am, Shaun: It was disgusting. It was a good game. Barry: and luckily I'm not a fan of either, cause I can't even say anything. My Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: team lost. So, but my team is irrelevant compared to the number one team or the former number one team in the nation now, excuse me. Number 7 team. Shaun: Number seven team in the nation, man. Barry: There you go. It was a really good game. So I'll let Shaun talk that here in a minute. okay. Then. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: But I'm s I'm still upset. Heard, heard, heard. I saw parts of it, but I didn't see the final score. Barry: Jen, if you missed it, they lost at the end of the game on a field goal. Okay. It was a really Shaun: Mm. Barry: good game though. I don't know, Shaun, UT's offense got to do some bro. Their defense is Shaun: Yeah, it was good. Dude, I think I I feel like Barry: well, their defense folded in the second half, surprisingly. Shaun: I feel like the defense here's the thing about rivalry games like that. It it's Barry: True bro, you ain't wrong. Shaun: it's always such a microcosm. Yeah, because people just show up and play way harder than they do in any other game. So I'm Barry: People show up. Yeah, people show up, Mm-hmm. Yes. Yeah. Jen: Mm-hmm. for sure. Mm-hmm. It means more. Shaun: I'm not pounding the panic button yet. But yeah, Barry: no, I definitely don't, but y'all gotta figure the offense out. Shaun: it it seemed like for a while, which has been an ongoing issue. Seemed like they were just running in the mud. Like they weren't making separation, they weren't getting open. Arch Barry: No, they didn't. Shaun: wasn't really hitting his throws that much. Jen: Isn't that what's his name's son? Barry: It's his nephew. It's Archon, or I mean, Arch. It's Eli and Peyton's nephews. Jen: Yes. The Manning. Yeah. Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: They're his uncle. His dad, what is his name, Connor? Shaun: Connor. no. god. Jen: Mm mm. Doesn't sound right. Shaun: What is his name? I can see his face. I can't even think of his name right Jen: You know, say. Shaun: now. Yeah. It is with a C though. Yes. Barry: I can't either. But, nah, it was a really good game. Yes, very Jen: But anyways, football family. Barry: much, very much. Shaun: Legacy football family. Jen: Yeah. Barry: So yeah, I watched that Saturday afternoon. Had some good pulled pork. Jen: Ooh, num. Barry: It was yummy. Shaun missed Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: out. Yeah. Yeah, Shaun: Off the smoker. Ding Jen: Mm. Barry: her husband, he's so good. He does a lot of barbecue. was... Well, I mean, you weren't downless. Y'all were out having Shaun: Just 'cause I didn't come didn't mean you couldn't have bringed me a plate. Jen: Okay, invite me next time I'll come. Yeah. Barry: these great lives and I'm just over here hanging with old people. No, I'm joking. Shaun: Ha ha Jen: Mm. Barry: But yo, am, yo, I'm not a big fan of preseason, but I'm excited basketball's back. Shaun: Bro, basket I'm so excited about this season. This is gonna be such a great NBA season. Jen: They're playing bam skipping Barry: Yo, a lot of Jen: bar. Barry: the preseason is already off the chain, so I can't wait for the regular season. Yo, bro, it's a rough breakup. Shaun: All right, s so what's going on with your boy J T and J B Barry: I sent this one to my brother today. It was the Gaultier. You all remember that? Didn't have to, yeah, they made a parody of, yeah, somebody I Shaun: I remember, yeah. Somebody that I used to know, right? Yeah. Jen: Mm mm. Barry: used to know, they made one with JT and JB. It was, it's hilarious. Yeah, it looks like it's one of them type. Even JB said it. was like, you know, it's your ex. So you run out to her public and you're like, dang, Jen: Yikes. Barry: I used to like, for real, we used to go together and now we don't. So. Shaun: But like they made it seem like it wasn't a bad romance while they were together. They made it seem like it was the media, Barry: They did, I mean... Shaun: but it it was true. They really it seems like they really didn't like each other. Barry: I don't know if they, they may not have been as cool as they tried to portray it, but I guess you Shaun: Yeah. Barry: always try and downplay that kind of drama. So, Shaun: That's true. Barry: but yo, PG and JT bro, it's going to be a problem if PG can stay healthy. Yo, you crazy. That boy's defense is still way above par bro. Nah bro, you crazy. You have to watch out. Shaun: That that's why it's not gonna be a problem. He'll play thirty seven games out of the season, probably. Jen: Mm. Yikes. Shaun: man. Nah, I I hope that they do well. It like there's Barry: Yeah, better watch out. They look good. They've dropped like over 130 points both preseason and they didn't even run the starters the first game that was just the backups. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: Prichard out here acting a fool already had like 25 and something and again, you know, I love Prichard's game but Shaun: Pritchard's nice. I he's nice. I I feel like he Caitlin Clark shaded him, but I mean that was that was cra that was wild. Barry: You crazy. That was a diss to my boy, bro. You don't ever know. Come on, Come on. That man's a champion. Y'all better watch out, put some respect on his name. Crazy, but yeah, I got to watch. I didn't watch the game. I think it was on like NBA TV on Saturday, but I watched the highlights. They look good. Shaun: Hm. I'm so tired of those blackout games. Barry: Dude, it's the most ridiculous. I hate it. Shaun: The Denver game was the same way. It was blocked Barry: Was it? Shaun: out. Yeah, it was on Sunday ticket. Like, I'm not paying that kind of money to watch these games. Like it's insane. Yeah. I'm not paying three hundred yeah. Yeah. There you go. Barry: Nah bro, y'all got me messed up. You think I'm gonna pay to watch these games? I'll meet Shaun at a bar, but I'm not, yeah. I'll go, Jen: Mm-hmm. Three hundred to watch a game? Barry: I'll, yo, they want insane amount of money for a year, bro, for a season. Mm-hmm. Shaun: For Sunday ticket and stuff, it's it's crazy. Like two, three hundred dollars for the season. Yeah. Jen: Mm. Barry: Yeah, nah, y'all got me messed up, so. Shaun: Can't do it. Barry: Well, that was Saturday. Yesterday I did the lawn. I hate lawn work. I still despise it every Jen: Mm-hmm. For worse. Barry: day. I had to do the lawn, like mow and edge and. Jen: Barry, I just noticed your shirt. You're wearing your Telefrico shirt. I literally just Shaun: You just now saw that? Barry: I'm a Tala- Freak-o, bro. Jen: now clocked that. I love it. Barry: We got, we Shaun: What what is what does Barry: got a week. Shaun: your shirt say, Jin? Your favorite what? Rapper is. Okay, gotcha. Jen: Okay, my favorite rapper is Alexander Hamilton. There's not Barry: Her favorite rapper. Jen: a good my mic's in the way. Barry: Yeah, that's good. It's dope. Yeah, Shaun: That that's not the school. Barry: this is my donation. You know me, I'm Jen: Good job. Barry: gonna get some if I'm gonna give something. So I'm leaving here with some. I'm from around the way, bro. Shaun: I'm leaving it with something. There you go. Jen: I'm ready here with something. Lord. Barry: But yeah, and then we have lacrosse, first lacrosse practice of the fall. So yeah, Shaun: Hey. Excited about it? Barry: it good practice. Girls showed up, lot of girls. But again, we don't play Jen: 'Cause you're coaching this, right? Barry: a game. I'm a coach. I'm like the assistant coach. I am not the head coach. No. I'm here to help. I'm here to keep score and keep time, bro. Tell me what else you need to know. I got you, bro. Jen: Heard yeah, he said now. Whoa whoa whoa. Shaun: Mm. He's like, Don't put that evil on me, Ricky Bobby. Mm-hmm. Barry: Give me the clipboard. But now my youngest, she was out there, we were practicing. And then my oldest, Shaun: And no games this season. Barry: nah, no games in the fall, but it's a good, just kind of, they get warm for the spring, so. Jen: Nice. Shaun: That's what's so. Barry: and then today I went in, well, I cut Ziggy. Not like that. I gave him a haircut. No, I gave him a haircut today. Jen: I was like, say more right? Shaun: Dang, you give him his own haircuts? Barry: Y'all know me, bro. I am the cheapest dude out here. You know how much it costs for, you know how much it is for a pair of clippers? Shaun: That's true. Yeah. You gonna save a penny if you can. Jen: You really should you didn't need to ask that question. That was goofy. Barry: It's $40, bro. You know how much it is to cut his hair? It's like over 50 every time. So you know which one I'm gonna choose. Shaun: You've seen my dog. You know how much I pay to get him groomed? Yeah. Jen: Yeah, it's probably like two for Ace. Yeah. Barry: Bro, but you got a husky bro. That's completely different Ziggy's hypo- allogenic, but I just Jen: You gotta get that undercoat. Barry: got to cut him like it's easy he Shaun: Yeah. Must be nice. Jen: Yeah. Barry: it ain't no like grooming and level like he's out here with miss cuts and he looking like a fool, but He alright, though clip his nails. He's Jen: Poor baby. Barry: I I Do Shaun: Little zig. Barry: get his beard looking fresh though. I do give him that Shaun: Yeah. Barry: he gets the straight edge on the bottom He's looking he's looking fresh Jen: Wanna go. Shaun: Let me line you up real quick. Barry: Let me line you up, Ziggy. I got you, bro. So, and then I hooped tonight. Yeah. Shaun: Y'all win? Barry: I didn't win tonight, man. Didn't have it in the Shaun: D Barry: tank tonight. Yo, we haven't played in like a month. We were all gassed after like the first game. And Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: What do you all play to? Barry: then the rest of the games were horrible. We played to 11. And that ones and twos. Yeah. Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. By ones. Ones and twos. I mean, that's dope, man. I mean, sometimes it'd be like that. There you go. Barry: I mean, I hit a couple, nah, bro, it's Jen: You still got out there and played. Yeah. Barry: just every time I feel like it's gonna be my last. Yo, I'm gonna be so sore tomorrow. I'm gonna be so Jen: No. Cut it out. You're ridiculous. Shaun: Ha ha ha. Barry: sore. Shaun: Hey, hooping over thirty, I mean, you never know when you might pull the wrong thing. Barry: That's what it's all just icing on the cake right now, bro. I'm just enjoying every time I get to get out there. That's it. Cause it really could be my last, any one of these, like no joke. Shaun: Mm-hmm. One wrong pivot. There goes Jen: Mm. Shaun: the ACO. Barry: Yo, I hit a little something in my back was like, nah, bro, you can't do that no more. Just pump the brakes, Shorty. Pump the brakes, Shorty. Yeah, you could do that about five, 10 years ago, but not no more, bro. My back Jen: Sit down. Let him take the point. Shaun: He was like you could do that fifteen years ago, but not now. God. Barry: was like, nah, go ahead and pause, sir. Jen: Not today Shaun: Man, it'd be like that. Barry: But yeah, think that's really it. Jen: Fun. Shaun: Nice. Well my Barry: How about you, bro? All the last week wasn't that good, so hopefully it was the bounce back week, bro. Jen: Yeah, please cross Shaun: Yeah. Jen: your fingers that he had a better week. no, we gotta go. Mm. Shaun: This past week sucked too. This one was absolute garbage. Barry: no. Shaun: Yeah. I'm not gonna I'll I'll spare you all the details, but my god. Jen: No, we want all Barry: Well, Jen: the details. What happened with the plumbing? Were you able to get it fixed? Yes. Barry: any completion to the, Well, the plumbing was good, right? The car, though. Uh-oh. Shaun: Yeah, plumbing is yeah, plumbing's okay now. The car. Jen: Okay. Shaun: Monday was a freaking movie. I didn't end up getting to work until noon. That's Barry: I remember you. Yeah. Jen: no. Oof. Shaun: how I woke up at four o'clock. I didn't get to work until noon. That's how that's how bad my week started. Jen: Mm mm. Literally. Barry: Dude worked the whole shift before you even got to work. Shaun: Super expensive too. so we'll see. Jen: no. I'm sure. Barry: ease. Yo, we talked on one night was that and there was it was bad news on your warranty. Shaun: Yeah, but it was bad news on the warranty, but I do have Jen: They denied it or what? Shaun: no, so I thought it was Barry: he thought it was the wrong number. Shaun: six like when he originally quoted me, he's like, Yeah, you've got like sixteen days left on your warranty. And then later ended up talking to him again. He was like, it's actually sixteen days past the end of your warranty. Yeah. Put it in reverse, Derek. no. Barry: Reverse, reverse, he hit him with the reverse, Terry. Mm-hmm. I'm sorry, I don't mean to make fun of your situation, but Jen: No, Mm mm. Barry: he hit him with the reverse. Shaun: Nah, it's fun. That's and that's what I was telling you. It's like, yeah, it absolutely sucks, but it's if it's gonna happen to somebody I love, I'm glad that it happened to me. That's what I'm saying. Like if it's gonna happen to somebody I love, I'm glad it happened to me. Jen: You get out of here. Mm-mm. Don't let it happen to me. I don't like that. You're such a goof. Absolutely not. Barry: Well, I like that, Shaun. I'm down for that. I like that, bro. I feel that way though. I'd much rather be the one that takes on those kinds of burdens. I'm down for that. It Shaun: Yeah. So Barry: sucks, it does. But guess what, Jen? We do what we gotta do and we make it work. Jen: We get through it. Shaun: We do what we gotta do. Jen: You make it work. You ain't gotta tell me. You wanna go through my life story? I surely you don't. We're gonna keep this under forty five minutes today. We don't got enough time. Not today. Not today. Shaun: You just put your head down and you do it. Right? Barry: Shut it down, sir. Shaun: man. But no, I'm in the I'm in the second rental car right now. Jen: Well Barry: Dang! Shaun: I've gotta take it back Wednesday. I've had it since this past Wednesday. So, I mean, I'll probably end up getting another one at this point because Jen: my gosh. Shaun: there's nowhere on mine. But I did look at cars today. I didn't go and look at cars, but I did some research. Jen: I was about to say what happened with the car buy? Barry: The EV. Shaun: Yeah. Yeah. So I I think that I've found the year making model that I want is just now Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: about finding the actual vehicle. So once I find it, I'm just like, whatever. Barry: Okay, what'd settle on? Are you gonna make it a surprise? Jen: For the right price and stuff. Yeah. Shaun: I'm just gonna pull the trigger, get it. And then we'll just deal with whatever. it's Jen: Yeah. What are you looking at? Barry: What you what are you settling on? I know you haven't picked it, but what is? Shaun: I'll I'll t I'll tell y'all off the air because I don't want people to like judging me. Yeah. So but yeah, it is. Jen: Okay. Okay. Barry: man, screw them people. No, that's cool. I got you. That's cool. Well, that's exciting. At least you know what you're looking for now. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: I feel like that's half the battle because I get overwhelmed Barry: Yo. Jen: with just the amount of things that are out there and then with this Shaun: And that's the thing. Jen: thing and then this one doesn't, but then this level does, but then this level's twenty thousand dollars more and then this it's insane. Barry: I have a list of cars that I want to drive before I die and I'm just going through that list. Shaun: Exactly. Jen: It's insane. And Shaun: He's like, I'm just making my way through that list. Jen: three of them are mini Coopers. No. He's already had two. Exactly. So he just needs one more. Barry: I am. I've had two. I have had two. Both have been stick shifts. No, the first one was, it was not. It was a semi-automatic. I don't really enjoy that. Jen: I Shaun: What is a semi automatic? Barry: Like where it's just the up and down. It's like technically a manual, but there's no clutch. I don't enjoy it. I've had Jen: I've never driven one of those before. Yeah. Barry: like three of them. Nah. So. Shaun: So does how does that wear on the transmission? Jen: Hm. Barry: I don't know. I'm assuming it's just all in the computer system. Like it's just a plus minus. You, you can shift it. Yeah. There's no clutch. Jen: So you're literally just adding a gear, dropping down a gear. But you're just not moving it. Yeah. Barry: Yeah, no, it's just the up and down. Yeah. It's like a paddle shifter. Exactly. Before paddle shifters were that for sure. Yeah. I've had a couple paddle Shaun: So it's essentially it's like paddle shifters in automatic cars. Okay. Yeah. Okay. Jen: Yeah, yeah. How interesting. Never seen that before, but hm. Barry: shifters. All right. But now I do, I love a stick shift. Like, no, give me a stick. I've had like three or four in my life, man. I love them. Jen: I do too. I think it would be so fun, but I've only had one. Shaun: Nope. Jen: My first car I bought myself was yeah. Yeah. Barry: That's what I learned to drive on. That's probably it is the nostalgia. I didn't that was the one when I was 12 or 13. That was Shaun: I learned how to draw a stick shift and I was like, no, this ain't for me. Barry: Bro, I just, Jen: I love it. Barry: it's fun. Anyways, I'm excited for you, Shaun. Shaun: Mm. Tight. But yeah. Jen: It is for Shaun: Thank you. I'm excited too. And then, right. Barry: Can't wait to ride in it. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: The first, the first rental car that I had was a truck. And I was like, my God. Yeah, a Chevy Silverado. Barry: Like a pickup? Jen: Maybe I want a truck Did you want a truck? Shaun: And I was like, God, I I'm I miss, I forgot how much I miss driving a truck. Like my first vehicle was a Chevy Silverado. Barry: yo, but those are like $50,000 now bro. Yeah, pickup trucks are dope. Yeah, pickup trucks are dope. Jen: Yeah. That's nice. Shaun: And I'm like, my God, I miss this so much. So I'm probably gonna end up getting a truck too. That'll probably end up happen. Exactly. So I'm like, I'm gonna get the e no, I don't want that. Jen: Get out of here. You cannot. He's gonna get an EV so that it balances out his truck. No. You want Barry: Dang this bro got single man money You gonna get you a Silverado EV? Don't they have this? No. Jen: the what are the really expensive ones? The Rivians or something? Shaun: the really No, I don't want a Rivian. There's they're stupid, expensive. But the the cost to repair them, like if something were to happen, like if there were like an app because of the unibody design, Barry: the Rivians are dope, No? Yeah, they're stupid expensive, but they're dope looking. for real? Hmm. Jen: They're and they're crazy expensive. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yes. I feel like that's what people don't think about. Barry: Mmm. It's not, there's not like parts for it. It's like dismantling the whole vehicle, I'm sure. Shaun: like if there's something that goes wrong, like accident-wise. Yeah. Exactly. Yeah. Jen: Mm, no. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Shaun: It's like the the Jeep Wagoneer. Like if if something electronic went wrong in there, it was stupid. Barry: Yo, those are insane too, man. Shaun: Dupe it to be able to fix it. So Jen: Yep. Mm-hmm. Barry: But yo, that's what they're doing with new cars nowadays is they just make it to where you can't work on them, That's all that's going Shaun: Yeah, that's what they're trying to do. Jen: Yeah. Barry: back to your subscription, bro. It's all the subscription, Yo. I would love to. Jen: Going back to your subscription. That is the one thing about Toyota Toy I'm a Toyota person, Shaun: Mm-hmm. Just like BMW. Jen: but apparently even in their new cars, it's subscriptions. Like you have to pay a subscription to use their like Wi-Fi stuff. Yeah. That's wild. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Barry: All of all of them, bro. Like, I really don't know if I'll buy a car older than like 2022 anymore. Like, I Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Yeah. It's wild. Barry: really don't know because before that you didn't have subscription. Shaun: I mean, even with my car, yeah. Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: But it's just kind Jen: I don't know. Shaun: of the way life is right now, I guess. But we'll see. I mean, I don't know if that's I don't Barry: Get out there and vote, y'all. Get out there and vote. Jen: He ain't wrong. Shaun: I don't know if that's gonna change corporate greed, but Barry: I sure hope it does. Jen: No, but you know. Shaun: but maybe. Well, I mean that kind of leads us directly into an am I the asshole that Barry you had sent over. Jen: I can't wait. Shaun: I know, right? I've Barry: Jen has no clue. Shaun knows a little bit. I forgot, honestly, the whole scenario. I know, I forgot. I haven't looked in a minute. Jen: I've been anticipating this. Not a clue, but Shaun: I've been holding on to this for like two weeks, have not read it. You know how much discipline Jen: I'm ready. Shaun: it takes to not read this over two weeks. man. Jen: You better than me. You better than me, 'cause I sure would have read it. I would Barry: Shout out to Shaun, he did not look all the way. Jen: have come prepared with notes. Like I'd really thought this through. Shaun: I know I've read the title like five times and I'm like, want to read the story Barry: Come on, Jen. Shaun: so bad, but I'm not going to. All right. So the title of it, it says, My girlfriend wants to cut I'm sorry. Hold on. Barry: You all right? Watch out, bro, dem Jen: He's dying. Barry: That liquid gets you bro. Shaun: I'm good. Okay. My girlfriend wants a cut of my $140,000 salary for her sisters. My girlfriend found out I Barry: gin, here we go. Shaun: landed a new corporate role pulling in $140K, which is double my old salary. We don't even live together, Jen: Good for you. Mm-hmm. Barry: Good for you, bro. Shaun: but she immediately com comment wait cornered me with a financial plan for my new paycheck. She demands I send $1,500 a month to her mother to cover her mortgage, plus an allowance for her two adult sisters who refuse to hold down jobs. Barry: There's that allowance again, Jen. Shaun: Her logic is that since she's stuck by me when I was broke, my new wealth brings to her entire family's ecosystem or belongs to her entire family ecosystem. When I told her absolutely not, she flipped out. Calling me a selfish pig and threatening to dump me for lack of family values. My money goes Jen: That ain't the one, boo boo. That ain't the one. Barry: Dump me. Dump me, please. Dump me. Shaun: My money goes toward my own retirement and debt, not funding her lazy relatives. She's currently freezing me out until I sign a joint bank account over to her. Jen: Hey now. Shaun: I am I the asshole for keeping my hard earned money to myself. Barry: Yo, Jen: Not at all. You this is our first not asshole. my gosh. I'm kind Barry: this is the first one you are not the asshole I'm glad we're all out of yo, this is the first one. Yes Shaun: Yes, absolutely the easiest not the Is it? Jen: of offended, Barry, that you thought I would think anything other than absolutely not. Because absolutely not. Absolutely not. One, if Barry: Yo, I don't know. Okay, good. I'm glad. Shaun: no. Some of the things you say, Jen Jen: they were married, Barry: You Jen: first of all, I'll fight you. Okay. Catch me outside. How about that? Barry: Catch you next time, how about that? Jen: But Man, you just threw me off, and now I would just want to yell at you about your comment. Barry: She said she is offended. Jen: I am offended. Anyways, no, that's wild. Shaun: You need to leave. Jen: If you, if they were married, I feel like even then, if even then, not with the family. If she was saying, like, if we're married in like Barry: Yo, even if we're married, I'm still not doing that. No. No. Shaun: What? Okay. Jen: half of that is mine or something like that, like maybe. But yeah, the fact that it's not even for you, it's Barry: No, bro, even if we're married, I'm not doing it. I will stand 10 toes down on that. Shaun: Mm mm. Barry: No. No. Jen: For your family and your sibling No, no, absolutely not. Barry: Nope, I'm sorry. Like I told y'all before, if you ain't helped build this house, you have nothing to say in here. And I know they probably didn't help build that house. Shaun: Okay, counterthought. What if there was a situation? Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Jen: The here he goes. Here we go. Get his little horns. Barry: Guy, always playing the devil's advocate. Get them out. Shaun: What if? Jen: I'm gonna get you a little devil pitchfork thing. Mm-hmm. Just anytime. He's gotta whip it out. What? No. Barry: little pitch for it. Anytime you're just gonna like hold on listen to this thought. Shaun: What if why? Can I say it? What if her family has been supporting them like while they've Jen: That's different story. Shaun: been getting to the point of having this job? Jen: Well, one, I think that's a d I do think that's a different story when it comes to the mom. Like if the mom was like housing them or giving them money every so often or whatever, that's a different story. Okay, pay your mom back. But the sisters, again, the an allowance for my adult sisters, absolutely not. Barry: pay me back but I'm not paying in perpetuity. I'm not paying in perpetuity. Jen: No. Barry: If it's a loan, I will replay that loan, Sure, hands down, Shaun, I'll give you that. But Jen: Yeah. Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: I am not paying your mortgage without. And if that's what it is, like if that's the agreement we come to, sure. That's Jen: Yeah. Barry: what I'm giving you to pay back this loan. But once that loan is re-paid, we're done. Sorry. Jen: Yeah. And again, with that, like if I made enough money and like really wanted to take care of my parents or something, and exactly, and it's not that much. It's not that much. It isn't. It's not gonna go that far. So like yeah. Mm-mm. No, he's not the asshole. Barry: Yo, okay, we're talking about a hundred forty thousand in today's world that age shit That ain't shit no No, you ain't the asshole Good for Shaun: I mean that's not yeah, that's not even that much. Barry: you. You need Shaun: He's Barry: to go ahead and say hey, I'm not signing that bank account. So Yeah, no, bro No, bro No, bro Jen: Especially for her to like corner him and demand it and then be like, You don't want to spend it on my family? What do you mean? Yeah, Shaun: Well that's the thing. Okay. So I agree that he's Jen: that's why. Shaun: not the asshole, but it is also a little bit strange the way he worded it. Because he worded Barry: What do mean? Shaun: it that his girlfriend found out about his new corporate job. Why is that not something that you would discuss with your partner if this is someone that you're wanting to build a Jen: I guess I didn't clock that. Barry: Don't know if he's I mean, I don't know if he's insinuating he kept it a secret I think in like when he and that like Shaun: Mm. Barry: when it was discovered when they had the discussion she was like, this is great. Jen: Yeah, I didn't clock it as that. Barry: You're sure right Guess what we doing? Mm-hmm. That's what I'm thinking. He was saying That's how I interpret it Jen: Now that you're making this, yeah. Mm-hmm. That's how I heard it, but I didn't I didn't Shaun: Well. Jen: clock the the terminology that he meant. Shaun: Yeah. I mean, I I I would assume that he probably did talk to her about it, but just saying that she found out it's just like, Okay, like were you trying to keep it from her? Like, did you already know that something like this was going to happen? Yeah. Barry: Yeah, I mean, get what you're Maybe, maybe he knew she was going to. Yeah, exactly. Jen: What do you mean by that? Yeah. But also I feel like, yeah, why were you hiding it from her? And if you felt the need to hide it from her, why are you with her? Shaun: Yeah. Barry: I this relationship ain't gonna work out just based off the clues that Shaun: No. Jen: Yeah. Barry: I know. Shaun: I mean, unless he concedes and he does. I Barry: Yo, I hope he doesn't. Shaun: mean, if he's going to the internet asking if he should do it or not, then Jen: I would say no. Shaun: I mean he's at least he's at least considering it. Right. Barry: Come on, If you're out there, don't do it, Jen: Don't do it. Barry: Don't do that. Shaun: And if you already did it, you stupid. Cause as soon as you sign over that joint account, anything that goes into that account, she got the access to it. Jen: Mm. Barry: Go ahead and stop. Save yourself. No, bro, you done. It ain't coming back. Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: Mm-hmm. She got that. She want that allowance. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Get out of here with that. Shaun: She'll deserve an allowance. Barry: Hell no. Jen: Get out of here with that. Shaun: Ain't paying you to do nothing. Barry: No... No. Jen: Mm mm. no. Barry: Jen, what'd think of the video that I posted in the group chat? Jen: Which video? Hold on. Barry: no, think Shaun posted it. Shaun: I post what did I post in the group chat? Jen: Hold on. Hold on. Barry: It was the one about the... Yeah, the financially unavailable. Jen: the financially unavailable. I wanna fight you both. You're absolutely atrocious. You did. And you are absolutely ridiculous. Shaun: I did post that in the group chat. Barry: that was Shaun, right? I was like, I can't remember if I did or not. That's how long the same lines are this, no? Jen: Absolutely ridiculous. No, it's not. Barry: No? Shaun: It's absolutely along the same lines. Jen: No, it's not. Absolutely not. Absolutely not. Shaun: I don't know the hell it's not, but whatever. All Jen: It's not. Shaun: right. Jen: It's not. Shaun: Anyway, to give to provide context to what this video Barry: Uhhhh Shaun: was, it's this guy. And this guy makes a lot of parody videos anyway. So he makes Barry: Okay, I've never seen that. Shaun: a lot of parody videos, but what he was essentially saying is that how like why would a woman expect for a man to be emotionally available when she's not financially available? Or to like provide Barry: Yeah. Shaun: the information about her finances and her plan and if she has a four one K and Barry: He worried about that credit score, bro. Shaun: Yeah, credit score and all of those different kinds of things. It's a funny video, but at the same time, Barry: I mean, yo, I get that. It is funny. Shaun: definitely get it. Barry: Yeah. Jen: He he's being he's doing too much. He's doing too much. Yes. Shaun: He's not doing too much. Barry: I don't know bro, there is a lot of double standards with that. Jen: Mm. Shaun: See, Barry, I wasn't even gonna say anything about double standards this episode. I was just gonna let it like live. Wrong? Who's wrong? Barry: okay. I opening Pandora's box? What? Jen: Let it lie. 'Cause y'all are wrong. Yes, absolutely. Barry: About what, Jen: You. Barry: Jen? Jen: z I really don't know if we can get into all this again. Again. Shaun: god. I mean, we're we're here now. We're here now. Might as well might as well might as well get into it. What's up? Barry: we're at the door. Are we gonna open it or not? Jen: Mm-mm. No, I think we can't we can't broach the subject of expectations again. But my Shaun: That's fine. Jen: my stance is still firmly y'all are crazy and love you anyways, Barry: About what? Jen: that men have more expectations than women placed upon them. It's wild, it's a wild statement. But it's fine. But but when okay, but it is. But Barry: I don't think it's that wild though. I don't think it is. Jen: but when it comes to this one, like I can see I can see what you guys are saying of okay for women to say like you need to be emotionally available, but they're also like, well, you need to pay for everything and you need to do this and you need to do this. Like that's just not my experience as a woman. I've never expected that. I've never been in a relationship like that. I've never seen women that I've been around be like that. So it's just for me to wrap my brain around it. But I know that it's clearly an issue with guys. So clearly it's happening more than I'm experiencing. Shaun: All day erry day. Barry: Okay, here's my thing. Can speak? The vacuum's going off again. Nine o'clock on the dot. My clock worked. Jen: Hold on, my vacuum's going crazy again. It is Sorry! Shaun: Geez, Lovies. Jen: Yeah. Sorry everyone. Barry: One thing, now that it'll probably get cut out and they'd be like, what are they talking about? Shaun: they can't hear it, it's just us. Yeah. What? Jen: Her. And okay. Barry: One thing is, I think we kind of talked about this. think this is just like, sad to say, social media Jen: Mm. Barry: feeds the difference in them. Like, men versus women. Jen: for sure. for sure. Mm-hmm. Shaun: Absolutely. Yeah. Jen: Yeah. And so it all it's constantly feeding you like what you feel and what you want to hear. And yes. Yeah. A hundred percent. A hundred percent. Barry: Yes. Yes. It's the algorithm. Yeah, for real. Okay. But then, Shaun: It's a C do get. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Barry: and how do I say, I'm not trying to like insinuate, but Shaun and I's feeds are very similar. Jen: Just say it. Mm-hmm. Shaun: okay. I was about to say Shaun. Anytime you start a sentence with Shaun, it freaks me out. Barry: Do you... No, no, no, no, no. Jen: We should we should switch feeds just one day when we're all together. We should switch and then yeah, a hundred Barry: That's what I was going to suggest. Should we look at each other's feeds and see? Shaun: That'd be great. Jen: percent. Barry: But then also, do Shaun: That'd be great. Barry: you think it is I have a lot of African-American themed things in mine. So do you think Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: it's a cultural thing, Shaun? And I'm not trying to say that I am Shaun: no. Barry: in any way in that, but our feeds are very similar in those like. Jen: I don't think so. I mean but Shaun: No. Yeah, I I think it's just social media does kind of exasperate everything Jen: Hm. Shaun: that happens, but it is I mean it's it it happens. Jen: It's also based on what you engage with. So like you like one video that you align with and they're gonna flood yes. It's gonna flood your for you page with similar Barry: Yes, very much. Or if I watch a whole video versus just scrolling past another one. Yes, Shaun: Yeah, absolutely. Yeah. Jen: things. Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: 100%. Shaun: I think that it it's just kind of society nowadays. With the Barry: I just wasn't sure. Shaun: there are a lot of like African American or black or whatever you want to call it, like shows and things like that that feed into it. But Jen: Mm-hmm. Feed into what? Barry: Like the whole like men or the expectation men versus women, like Shaun: feed it the whole men versus women expectations, things like that. Jen: Men mm Hurt, hurt, hurt. Barry: the girls are just one straight up. I'm only dating a dude if he makes more than six figures, like Jen: Mm-hmm, mm hmm. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: that kind of stuff. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: And I think that it it does happen a lot. I I'm gonna take crap for this, but whatever. I feel that Barry: You Shaun: I feel that black women tend to be more outspoken about it. That that's just the people that I've been around. Yeah. Like they'll just say that this is what it is, which I appreciate that because just let me know what your intentions are. That's fine. Barry: Like they're okay admitting it. Like that's their motivation. Yeah. Be honest. Yo, that's a funny thing. Jen: Mm-hmm. Mm. Mm. Barry: Becca's like, yo, what is your feed? Cause my feed is completely different. So I feel like. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: Yeah. Yeah. So I I think that'd be really interesting. Like if we we went out one day and just like swap phones and just like yeah. Barry: I we should, I was really thinking that, like we should look at each other's feet and just see Jen: I'm down for the get down. While we're getting pedicures, we can pass phones around. Barry: the vast, because Becca's like, what are you talking Shaun: Ha ha ha. Barry: about? I'm like, you didn't know this was a thing? And she's like, hell no, I didn't know that was a thing. Like, well, I mean, Jen: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Shaun: Yeah, that's a thing. Barry: we do have different, we grew up a different, like, Jen: Yeah. Barry: just. Shaun: Yeah. And it's something that I've experienced. I think that that's why part of me is just like, Well, I mean, this is what it is. I mean, like that's just kind of the way everything happens. Jen: Mm-hmm. Well, and that's why, yeah, that's what I was saying at the last conversation. Like, I'm just kind of sitting back and like thinking our experiences are so vastly different. And that's kind of like wild to like hear and Barry: Yo, for sure. Vastly. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: intake and not be like, what the fuck are you talking about? That's not no, it's not. And just sit there and be like, Well, if that's if that's what they experience, yeah. Yeah. Barry: Yo, that's how we mold the thought of what we had. That's what the world is. It's based off what Shaun: Yeah. Barry: we've seen and experienced. Jen: A hundred percent, but Shaun: But that's also one of the differences between the man's experience versus the woman's experience. Like they're just completely different experiences. Barry: That's very true, very, very true. Jen: Hundred percent. Yeah. But I do think it's important that people go about their own experiences, not pigeonholing themselves into only what they've experienced. You have to be open to hearing other people's perspectives, their own realities. A hundred percent. A hundred percent. Barry: Yeah, you have to be because we're yeah. Yeah, we're all on different paths with different X. Yeah, for sure. Yeah. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Jen: Otherwise you're gonna get nowhere. Shaun: Yeah. That's Jen: So Shaun: a a pet peeve of mine. I don't I don't ever want to surround myself with people who always think the same way as me. That that seems like the worst. Yeah. I would Yeah, I would much rather have people to challenge Barry: Yeah, and they're just like, agree with you on everything? Yeah. No, you need people to challenge you. For sure. Jen: Yeah, yeah, yeah, mm-hmm. Yeah. Shaun: me and make me think a different way or to at least offer up an Jen: Mm. Shaun: an alternative viewpoint of something. Jen: Yeah. It's something Kenny and I talk about Barry: For sure. Jen: a lot too, just like with our friends and stuff like that. Like if I can't have a lengthy conversation with you that's like, I don't know, give me something. Yes, like give me something. Yeah. Shaun: Like engaging at least. Yeah. Yeah. Barry: But it's like with us, even if we don't agree on everything, we still know we're going to be all right. Jen: Yeah. We're good. Yeah. Shaun: Yes. Barry: We do differ in opinion on a lot of things. We agree on Jen: Yeah, mm-hmm. Shaun: Yeah. Barry: a lot of things too at the same time. Shaun: Yeah. I mean Barry Jen: Mm-hmm. Shaun: you went to January sixth and we're still boys. Like I Jen: I cannot with you. Lord. Shaun: he didn't people. He didn't Barry: Shaun. Shaun. Shaun: do it. Jen: He said, Don't don't listen to these lies. Barry: No, bro. Don't let yo I Jen: Don't listen to these lies. Barry: hate this time of year, especially around midterms. The commercials Shaun: This time of years so Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: are the stupidest. It's the worst. Like it's really the it's all I want to do is pay did not have to watch the but I'm still that I'm like, no, it's not worth it. It's not doing Shaun: Dude, YouTube. You can't even get on YouTube. Jen: my gosh, all these AI videos. it's wild. Shaun: Right. I'm still not doing it. Yeah. Barry: I'm not doing the commercial free stuff. my gosh, but it just makes me want to. Exactly. Like I just Jen: The premium. Mm-hmm. Shaun: Mm-hmm. Like I would just rather not watch anything. Yeah. Jen: Right? It just makes me turn it off. Barry: Yeah, that's what I do. I just like turn off the TV. I'm like, I don't care to watch it. Like either side. I don't. I hate it. It's so dumb. Shaun: Yeah. It's just ridiculous. Jen: Yeah. Shaun: All the mud slinging. It's just Jen: huh. Barry: Yo, tell me what you're gonna do for me. Why do we like, I don't really care what the other like, I don't need the lies of what the other person didn't do. Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: Tell me what you're gonna do. Jen: Let him know. Shaun: Nah, nah shit. Barry: Nah, I mean more than likely. Shaun: man. I don't know. We'll see though. Jen: Sadly. But yeah. Barry: Yeah... I don't know. Shaun: But yeah, I mean, back to that guy. I would say he's definitely not the asshole. Live your life, bro. Get out of there. You don't live with this chick. You're just dating. Ps yeah. Get a run. Barry: No, agreed. Bro, you're gonna go and get out there, Yeah, she's just, you just calling her your girlfriend. She's there. You need to go ahead and cut, cut bait, bro. Jen: Definitely not the athletes. Mm. Mm mm. You got you got to go. Gotta go. Shaun: You you make a hundred and forty grand, change the number. Change your phone number. You can afford it. Get a new place, change the phone number, and go on about your life. Barry: Go live that life fool. Enjoy that money. Exactly bro. Disappear. Yes. For real. Can you work remotely if so? Get the hell out of town bro. Jen: You can afford it. Move on. That's so funny. Yeah. Yeah. He's not an asshole, but you know who is an asshole. Barry: Jen Shaun: god, what are you about to say? What? Jen: You already know what I'm gonna say. Shane Gillis and his ridiculous opinion that nobody wants to hear. Can somebody please go make him sit down? Who keeps inviting him to things? Barry: That's what he's known for. I'm Jen: No. Barry: not, not to say what he said was okay, but it's not surprising. Jen: It's not surprising, but can we s please stop putting him on my television? It's obnoxious. Yes. It is on my television. Mm-mm. Shaun: on your television. You have fr Barry: on your television. Just turn it off, Jen. Shaun: you have freedom. You can do you can change the channel whenever you want to. Jen: Sure can. Sure did. But anyways, I really wanna I really wanna know what you guys Barry: Okay, what was what is your problem? What he said? Jen: my well one, my problem is his just complete misogyny when it comes to, have you seen women wearing shorts in the gym? How whorish of them. Like what how are you calling all women that wear shorts to a gym where they're hot and sweaty and working out? Why are you calling them all whores? How does that make them a whore? Like, I just Barry: Okay, I'm not saying that I agree with what he said. No, all I'm gonna Jen: Barry Lord Jesus Barry: say, I just want to say directly, I don't agree with what he said, because there are a lot of other ways to say what he said. But he said that they are dressing like, he didn't call them that. He said they are dressing Jen: Mm. Barry: like that. And I'm not, Jen, I'm not justifying, please hear the words that I'm saying. Jen: Let me sit up for this. Hold on. Shaun: Clip it. Jen: I gotta get closer Barry: you Jen: to the mic. Barry: Yo, I have two daughters and I want my daughters to feel confident and dress the way they want to dress within putting yourself in a respectful light. Do I think that women should wear shorts or any shorts that they want to the gym? Wear whatever makes you happy. Am I going to say that you're dressing like that? No. I also am a man who can control myself and not look. I mean, Jen: So what are you what are you saying, Barry? Barry: All I'm saying is he didn't say that they are doing, they're not that. He said they are dressing like that. To me, there Shaun: Yes. Barry: is a difference in those, the way he said that. Shaun: He didn't say that they are whores. He said that they were he said he didn't Barry: Exactly. They are dressing like. Shaun: he said he didn't realize that women are out here dressing like whores Barry: Dressed like whores. Shaun: and then went on to describe a very particular form of shorts. Barry: And those shorts are very... Shaun: Again, not defending him. Jen: Very what? Barry: They are very tight and Shaun: Not defending him. Barry: not, I mean, they, again, you should wear what Jen: Yes. that's the point. Barry: you wanna wear. I agree, live your life. Again, I don't want any person to ever feel shame. As long as it's not gonna be anything that's inappropriate to people that are in the setting, wear what you wanna wear. If the shorts that ride all up in the crevices, ride up on the crevices. Shaun: In the crevices. Barry: But I'm saying he didn't say that they are that. He said they are dressing like that. To me, there is a difference in the way you present that. Again, but that's, Jen: That's wonderful for you to feel that way. Barry: it's a joke though. To me, it's a joke. Jen: But it ooh, I hate that. I mean Shaun: He's a comedian, so it was a joke. Barry: He's a comedian. again, I'm not excusing it, Jen. Do I think it was the place and time to say it? Probably not, but he's a dude that does, he pushes the envelope. Like that's his thing. Jen: Ooh, but can we stop saying that? Like, can we just stop using that as an excuse? I feel like that's everybody's excuse. No. Barry: I'm not saying it's an excuse. I'm not. Jen: Okay. I just feel like every time this stuff comes about, they're like, Barry: Again, I don't think he should have said it, Jen. Jen: well, it's fine. It's just a joke. It's, you know, what are you gonna do? That's his thing. Barry: It's not fine. I'm not saying that. But I'm saying let's just say what it is. He said like something like there's a difference in that. Jen: And I think I don't think that there is, especially when no, Barry: You don't think there is, why not? Jen: I don't think there is because if you are saying you're this person, yes, you're calling me a crazy yes. Barry: If I tell you you're acting like a crazy person versus you are crazy person, no I'm not. I said you are acting in the way a crazy person Shaun: No, he's not. Barry: would. I am not saying that you're crazy. Jen: How is there if you're acting a certain way, why would that not make you as such? Barry: Because I'm just saying in this moment you are acting like a crazy Shaun: That can go down a Barry: person. I am not saying that you are that because there to me that's a difference. I'm not putting the label on you're saying to me and my observation in this moment is you're acting like what I would call. I think there is a difference in that. I don't think it's a cop out. I don't, I don't. Jen: I feel like that's a cop out. I f I feel like that's a cop out. Shaun: It's not. I I agree that that's a completely different that's a different situation. Barry: If I say, okay, I Jen: Okay. Barry: will bleep the words. If I say you're acting like a bitch or you are a bitch, which one would you take more offensively? Jen: I feel like they would both be offensive, what Barry: Why though? Shaun: What? Jen: Because either way you're still calling me a bitch. Barry: I'm not! There's a vast difference of that. Jen: I'm s wild. Wild. I don't know if we can bleep that Barry: I don't know. Jen: because I need to put this on the internet to be like if somebody comes walks up to Shaun: Any Jen: you and says, You're acting like a bitch, are you gonna be upset? For sure. Barry: No, I'm, it's a critique. Jen: Okay. Okay Barry: I'm giving you feedback. That's a good like, I'm saying you're acting like, I'm telling you right now to me you're acting like that. Am I labeling you that in every situation across the whole entirety of your life? No. In this moment, you are acting like that. Jen: But that's not a hundred percent. You are not labeling it across the board. You're not saying there isn't though, because you're still putting that label on them in that moment. Barry: So there's a difference. But if I tell you that's what your character is, you're a bitch, like all the time that's, and Jen, would never call you that. Don't clip me, y'all, don't clip me. Shaun: Yeah. Jen: Yeah, it's like, watch your tone, Barry. There's a little too much eye contact right there. That's gonna be the clip at the front of the episode. Barry: But to me, there is a difference. I don't know, again, maybe, is men versus women. Jen: I just don't. Cause if you feel the is such intensity that you ever need to put that word or a sentence with me in reference to me, like we've lost the plot. Like I'm I'm done with it. Barry: I don't know, I don't know, I would disagree. Jen: Mm. I disagree. Shaun: I do have a question. Barry: Shaun's trying Jen: Yeah. Barry: to real it back in. Shaun: No, I do have a question for for a word that you used, Jen. You said it was very misogynistic. Jen: Okay. Mm-hmm. Shaun: What was it about what he said that was misogynistic? Jen: I think it's just the the culmination of everything that he said. And this kind of goes with the disagreement of what Barry is saying. I feel like that there are these expectations placed on women that you can't wear something specific. Otherwise, you it's this it's the same thing of when people, when something happens, when something happens to them, well, what were you wearing? Yes. Shaun: Let her cook Barry. Let her cook Barry. Barry: Yes, it's like that happened to you because you dressed like that. No, no, no. I, Jen, we are on the same page there, bro, because Jen: And it's Shaun: Yeah. Barry: I have two daughters. Yo, my daughter can dress however the hell she wants to. If your son needs to act like a grown young Jen: And and you better not do anything about it. Yes. Barry: man and not be disrespectful to my daughter, I agree completely. I agree with you there. Jen: But I feel like saying that. I feel like a statement like that is so like just ug awful. That does not matter. Barry: he's a comedian and he's like that's just no it but it does change it Jen: It doesn't. I just don't see it. Barry: How not? Jen: Because especially in a world that a p I I don't wanna that's ugly. I shouldn't put that out there. I don't wanna put words in your mouths. But I think in a world where women struggle so much to Be safe, be taken seriously, not have the first question be, well, what were you wearing or what what environment did you put yourself in? I think that's such a dangerous thing to say. And I get it, he's a comedian. We can make jokes all day long, whatever, but it's just fine, but I'm gonna call you out on being gross. Shaun: See this is where I start to struggle with it. I feel that if it were a female comedian that said the exact same joke, this wouldn't be a conversation right now. Jen: I'd be like I think it'd be be an even bigger conversation. Be Barry: If she said a dude dressed like a gigolo? Jen: No, I think he's saying if a woman if f yeah. Yeah. Shaun: No, I'm saying a a female talking about another woman in the gym. I Barry: About another woman no bro Shaun: don't think this will be a conversation at all right now. Barry: women call bitch the way the other girls bitches all the time and it's Jen: No, no. Barry: Yo, Becca Shaun: Okay, so Barry: does it to her friends like they call each other bitches all the time, and it's okay Jen: That's wild to me. Becca, I love you so much. Please don't ever call me a bitch. I will take offense. Shaun: I mean, I feel like that's how okay, so help me help me understand Barry: I guess it's just all in the feeling of the words. Shaun: help me understand something about the shorts because I I know the shorts that he's describing, but Barry: Yo, I do too. Shaun: I d I don't understand I guess the concept of them. Barry: How that's like, it's not, I don't even think that saying like those shorts, I wouldn't associate with like an actual whore. Shaun: Well, no, I'm saying like what is the what is the function of the scrunch? Because that's the part that he's talking about, is that they're super short in the way that they scrunch. So what's the function of that compared to just regular shorts? Barry: they hold everything, they're like lifting shorts bro, Jen: Mm-hmm. Barry: they hold everything up. Jen: But also, that's just the style of the workout shorts, especially when you're going to the gym to do like a leg day and stuff like that, because you can see all of the muscles that you're working while you're doing it. And so most women, like it's hot and sweaty. So one, you're gonna be wearing shorts or something that you're not gonna sweat less. You're gonna feel more comfortable in is first. But also, like that's just the function of the shorts. It's like, bikers riding a bike in short, tight shorts. Like it's the same it's the same thing. I get the argument of Shaun: Well no, I'm just saying the the function of the scrunch. Like that's the part that I don't understand. Like I understand short shorts. Absolutely. That's yeah. Yeah. That's what I'm saying. Like I just don't understand that Barry: No, it's literally the material just tight to hold everything up, bro. That's literally what the function is. At least my understanding of it. Jen: Didn't mess up. Shaun: portion of it, but that's fine. I don't know. I mean Jen: But w but why does it need to be understood is my thought. Like why does there have to need to be a function? well it has to function appropriately for the gym. Otherwise, why are they wearing it to the gym? Like because they fucking Shaun: I didn't Jen: want to. Shaun: I didn't say anything. Okay, that's the problem, right? Okay, you know, I'm no, I'm not gonna do it. I'm not getting into it. This is y'all's conversation. This is y'all's conversation. Barry: Do it, Shaun. No, it's all of our conversation. No, it's ain't Jen: Do it, Shaun. Full send. Barry: ours. Jen: But that's literally what it sounds like every single time. Anytime a woman wears something deemed inappropriate, it's well, what is the why would they want to do that? What's the function behind that? Why Shaun: But it's only when men say it. When women say it, it's not a problem. Jen: no w okay, give me an example of when a woman has brought something up and it wasn't an issue. I've Shaun: I don't have one out of the holster, but it happens all the time. Just the same thing. Okay, actually I do have one. Sydney Sweeney. Barry: here we go! Shaun: Let's go back to Sydney Sweeney. Why is Jen: Okay. Okay. Shaun: it such a problem that she's posing with the sports balls? Jen: That is specifically because she is connected. No, that Barry: No step. Jen: is a completely different situation. Because that is something that is actively harming women's sports. It's actively Barry: How? Jen: because men in the world already look at women's sports as lesser than, as it's not as Barry: Yo, to be honest, I don't even associate that ad with women's sports in any way, or form. It's a sports betting app and that's the only Shaun: At all. I associate it with sports betting is what I associate it with. Barry: thing that I associated to. I have no connection to that in women's sports. I will say that 100%. Jen: That's very good for you. Barry: but, but So why do you take it as it's shot at women's sports? Or it's a harm to women's sports, excuse me. Jen: Because no matter because no matter what you take it as, the general populace in the world is going to they that we already do look at women's sports as lower. They're already fighting women in women's sports are already struggling to be taken seriously in the sports arena. So then you have a woman coming out here to promote sports, whether it's sports betting or sports, it's in that same realm and she's doing it in a way that is very sexualized, which is what they already fight on a day-to-day. So I get it. For y'all, you might not take it in that specific way, but you cannot get mad at the women who are upset and who are frustrated with the choice of promoting it in that way. when it's something that they literally fight every single day. Shaun: Why can we not get upset about that? Jen: What do you mean? Barry: I don't even want to say I'm upset. I just don't see the correlation. I don't. Shaun: Yeah, I don't see why I I don't see how that harms women's sports. But in in the same regard that you're Jen: But I think that's such a I struggle with that because you you can't say, Well, I don't see the struggle, so it doesn't exist, right? Like that's so dangerous to say. Shaun: That's literally what you said earlier. Jen: What do you what did what did I say that? Shaun: You s you basically said the same thing earlier when you were Jen: No Shaun: talking about like that's not been my experience. That's not been the experience of the people that I've Jen: And I and and and the last thing I said after that was, and that's why I had to sit back and be like, wow, we've lived such different experiences, but I know I need to remain open to hearing your side and not just jumping in with my thoughts and hearing your experience. I need to be able to take that in because that has not been my experience. And I need to be able to understand your side of it so I can kind of get a more balanced view. That's exactly what I said last episode. That's exactly what I said 10 minutes ago. And I think that's what it needs to be said here is you can't just say, Well, the girls just need to calm down with that ad and just get over it like she's fine. I think it's Shaun: Nobody said that. Nobody said that. Barry: I I guess Jen: Okay. Barry: I just haven't heard anybody say that's what they're connecting it to outside of you And I'm not trying to say that you're wrong. I'm just trying to understand to your point because I don't see the correlation Jen: Think that's the only thing that I've seen from people getting upset with that is women in sports posting, like, hey, here's some videos and pictures of me throughout my career in this sport. And that's what I would rather people focus on with women's sports. And so that's the narrative that I have seen. So when you come to me as a woman and saying, Well, why do you think women are upset about this? That's what I'm seeing from the women's side, is that women in sports. Already struggle and they already are kind of fighting. And so to see another woman on a big stage connecting sexuality to sports, it harms them and it harms their experience that they already fight for every single day. And so for people to be like, get over it, whatever, it's easy for people who are not connected and who are not struggling and who are not fighting in that situation every day to say just to get over it, it's not a big deal. Shaun: saying get over it it's not a big deal but I'm gonna let you cook. Jen: Okay. Shaun: I I never said get over it. It's not a big deal. I was using I was using that as a point to Jen: But okay, okay. Okay. Shaun: the fact that women can feel a certain way about other women, but men are not allowed to feel that way about women. That Jen: I Okay. Shaun: you just proved that point. Like women Jen: How Shaun: can be upset at Sydney Sweeney because they perceive it as her hurting women's sports because she is posing the way that she is to Jen: Okay. Shaun: promote the sports betting business. Jen: Okay. Shaun: But if you have a guy who were to say something about a woman being in the gym wearing super short shorts, then it's a problem. But when women say things about Sydney Sweeney, it's not a problem. Jen: I see those as very different. Shaun: How? Jen: Because a woman in a gym wearing gym clothes that are a gym appropriate, appropriate in every sense of the word and the structure and the establishment, and saying that women wearing the clothes that are supposed to be worn there is inappropriate and they're dressing like whores is not the same as a woman completely naked, just being covered up by sports balls. in saying watch sports. It's very different. And I get again, we're not saying she can't do that. We're not saying whatever. What we are saying is she should understand that that harms women's sports. And I d I don't see them as any kind of the same. And I think if a woman comedian made the same joke, people would still be upset about it. Barry: But for the same reason. Shaun: No. Jen: Yeah, yes. Because they'd be like, Why in the world Barry: You Jen: are women in the gym Shaun: not at all. Jen: whores? Shaun: They would laugh at it. Jen: Okay. And this is why the world is stuck where it is. Shaun: It's not. I look again, I don't have a horse in the race. I don't really care. I mean, it's to whoever you can do whatever you want to do as a person. As long as you're not harming, hurting anyone, or causing any kind of damage, do you. I don't really care. But I mean, people are gonna have their own thoughts and opinions on things. It's I don't know. It is what it is. Barry: Jen thinks Shane Gillis as an asshole. Jen: True. He is an asshole. A racist asshole. Have you Barry: Damn. Shaun: Now he's God, now he's racist. Jen: not seen his other stuff? Barry: What like what? Jen: Okay, you just need to go watch them do some digging. Barry: I mean, I've watched quite a bit of his stuff. don't feel like it's racist. Jen: Okay. Everyone can have their opinion. Shaun: He says racially charged things. I think that's I Barry: That's true. Shaun: don't know. I I feel like that's just kind of the world that we're in right now though. Because Barry: I don't know. give a lot. guess I give a lot of weight leeway to comedians too, because that's what they're meant to do is press the envelope. Shaun: Yeah. Like I feel like comedy is a safe space. Barry: I don't know. Shaun: But I don't know. We're in a world of political correctness. Jen: I think you can be funny without being racist as well, but that's maybe that's just crazy of me. Barry: I really don't think he's racist. I don't Shaun: Yeah. Barry: I Agree with Shaun. He's probably said racially charged things Maybe this another male Jen: Okay. Barry: female difference Shaun: Yeah. I mean I don't know. I don't know like what even to say to that. Because I feel like I feel like almost all comedians say racially charged things at at some point or another. I mean, I don't think that Barry: I would agree with that. Shaun: makes you a racist per se. Barry: I would agree with that. Shaun: I mean, are actors racist if they say words in movies and scripts and things? Barry: The N-word and they're Mm-hmm. It's all for art, Jen. I would agree. It's all art. Shaun: That's a genuine question. That's a genuine question. Jen: Mm. I think I've said all of the things that I can say in this episode. Barry: okay. Shaun: Well, I guess we'll never know. Jen: And I guess we'll never know. Shaun: man. Alright, well, let's get out of here. episode number 20 in the books.
