- 0:02If we focus on the experience of our normal daily lives, we will
- 0:06find that. It can be characterized by a
- 0:09specific feeling or quality that we know as our usual experience.
- 0:16While each individual may have a different characterization of
- 0:19this experience, some happy, some sad, some joyful, some
- 0:25filled with pain the preoccupation with the external
- 0:29body Life Energy. And Find the perceptions of the
- 0:33sentence. The relationships we have with
- 0:36others and our experience of the environment, within which we
- 0:40live, are the primary factors for virtually everyone.
- 0:46There are times when we may have an experience which we recognize
- 0:50is not part of our usual daily routine.
- 0:54We tend to try to minimize or dismiss these experiences as
- 0:58something abnormal or unimportant.
- 1:01Yet they may have a subtle impact that stays with us.
- 1:06The tendency to dismiss them comes from our lack of
- 1:08familiarity or comfort with such experiences or our inability to
- 1:15understand what they are. And what significance, they may
- 1:19hold an example is provided by dr.
- 1:22De la, when he describes the difference between ordinary
- 1:26dreams and those that may hold some deeper sense to them, when
- 1:31we wake from a dream that holds some real meaning, we know,
- 1:35intuitively that it is not something usual or ordinary and
- 1:40we tend to dwell on the dream, try to understand it, explain it
- 1:45or seek help and Standing it yet.
- 1:48It is not just in a dream state that we can experience something
- 1:52different. How many times do we enter a
- 1:56place that suddenly makes us feel reverence or deep sense of
- 2:00peace? Or a prayerful feeling?
- 2:04We do not necessarily know how or why such an experience arises
- 2:08in that place where time, But we sense it.
- 2:12Nevertheless, if we are embedded deeply into our external
- 2:16Consciousness, we try to explain it away with some superficial
- 2:21sense of its meaning, but if we are receptive, we begin to
- 2:26appreciate that. This is the influence of the
- 2:29deeper inner being the sole beginning to make itself known
- 2:34and provide us with an opening to our greater possibilities
- 2:39beyond what we Day-to-day. It is said that the experience
- 2:46of the sage is the opposite of what we normally understand to
- 2:49be the nature of our experience. There is a reversal of day and
- 2:54night, such that what is day or an awakened State.
- 2:58For the sage is dark and close to our ordinary Consciousness.
- 3:04While what is day wherein, awakened state for our normal
- 3:07external being is like night to the phage.
- 3:11The difference is the predominant, standpoint of
- 3:14living, either in the surface being or living in the inner
- 3:18being Dr. Dalal writes, quote, in the normal State of
- 3:23Consciousness in which we are identified with the outer being
- 3:28the body, impulses and feelings. And the mind we are almost
- 3:33totally unconscious of the inner being and of its constant
- 3:37actions on the surface consciousness. we sometimes
- 3:42awaken into the consciousness of the inner being during the sleep
- 3:46of the body and occasionally bring back to the normal waking
- 3:50consciousness, some of our experiences of the inner
- 3:53Consciousness during sleep in the form of lucid symbolic or
- 3:59premonitory dreams though, most of our dreams, which are
- 4:04confused or incoherent pertain not to the inner Consciousness,
- 4:09but to the subconscient The subconsciousness called the
- 4:13unconscious in modern psychology.
- 4:17We also get glimpses of the inner Consciousness, through
- 4:20certain images, perceived either spontaneously or during the
- 4:25practice of visualization and in rare cases through Visions or
- 4:31inner voices. In the state of meditation to.
- 4:35We sometimes become aware of the inner being, as detached calm
- 4:41and observing consciousness. Apart from these occasional
- 4:46momentary and fragmentary experiences.
- 4:50The inner being is shut out from the outer by the thick wall or
- 4:54veil of the normal surface Consciousness.
- 4:58The process of inner growth. Consists in the gradual breaking
- 5:02down of the wall or the lifting of the veil and Awakening to the
- 5:06consciousness of the inner being in quote, as SRI, aurobindo
- 5:12writes quote. There are always two different
- 5:15Consciousness has in the human being one outward in which he
- 5:19ordinarily lives, the other Inward and concealed of which he
- 5:24knows nothing. When one does sadhna, the inner
- 5:28Consciousness begins to open in one, is able to go inside and
- 5:33have all kinds of experiences there.
- 5:36As the sadhna, progresses one begins to live more and more in
- 5:40this inner being and the outer becomes more and more
- 5:43superficial at first. The inner Consciousness seems to
- 5:48be the dream and the outer the waking reality afterwards.
- 5:53The inner Consciousness becomes the reality and the outer is
- 5:57felt by many as a dream or delusion or else a something
- 6:01superficial and external in quote.
