  SPEAKER_02: There's a problem happening at work.
• 0:02
SPEAKER_02: I wonder if you're thinking the problem is the same problem I think.
• 0:07
  SPEAKER_02: Explain what's happening.
• 0:09
SPEAKER_00: So I think one of my coworkers is actively trying to get me fired.
• 0:14
SPEAKER_00: Um, I worked at this company for years, and she and I have never really gotten along.
• 0:19
SPEAKER_00: But lately she started doing something that's driving me crazy.
• 0:24
SPEAKER_00: Um basically, anytime I make even the smallest mistake, she immediately sends me an email about it and copies my boss on it.
• 0:34
SPEAKER_00: And when I say small mistakes, I'm talking like really minor stuff.
• 0:39
SPEAKER_00: Like maybe I accidentally attached the wrong version of a document, or like I typed the wrong date on something and fixed it five minutes later.
• 0:48
SPEAKER_00: You know, stuff everybody does once in a while, but instead of just mentioning it to me, she sends me formal emails documenting everything I did wrong.
• 0:58
SPEAKER_00: And the weird part is I actually outrank her.
• 1:02
SPEAKER_00: I've got more experience, I've been here longer, and I'm technically higher up to change.
• 1:08
SPEAKER_00: So yeah, I feel like she's trying to build some kind of case against me to take my job or make herself look better or whatever.
• 1:15
SPEAKER_00: Um, I even asked her directly if she'd stop copying the boss on every little thing, and she basically shrugged it off and said she was just keeping everyone informed.
• 1:26
  SPEAKER_00: It's like, yeah, whatever.
• 1:28
SPEAKER_00: And honestly, I'm not worried she's gonna take my job anytime soon, but it's incredibly frustrating feeling like somebody's sitting there waiting for me to make a mistake.
• 1:37
SPEAKER_00: You know, now I'm second guessing everything I do because I know she'll send another email if I miss even the tiniest detail, and then my boss will get blind CC'd on it.
• 1:48
SPEAKER_00: So, yeah, I kind of want to sit down with my boss and talk about it, but I don't want to sound like defensive, I guess.
• 1:57
SPEAKER_00: I'm just trying to figure out how to handle this without starting even bigger office drama.
• 2:01
  SPEAKER_02: I gotta ask you a question.
• 2:03
  SPEAKER_02: Uh-huh.
• 2:04
SPEAKER_02: Are you picking oh God, this could be one of two things?
• 2:07
SPEAKER_02: Because I have one, I have something she could do, but I have to ask you this first.
• 2:11
  SPEAKER_02: Okay.
• 2:11
SPEAKER_02: Because we've worked in some we've worked with some interesting characters over the years.
• 2:15
  SPEAKER_02: Oh, have we?
• 2:16
SPEAKER_02: I understand the I understand the seniority and all that stuff.
• 2:19
  SPEAKER_02: Sure.
• 2:20
SPEAKER_02: Do you think her coworker's sick of her screwing up all the time?
• 2:24
  SPEAKER_01: Ooh.
• 2:25
SPEAKER_01: You know, even the little things.
• 2:28
SPEAKER_01: Yes, because the little things are the things that really eat my booty.
• 2:32
SPEAKER_02: Because little things add up over time.
• 2:34
SPEAKER_02: Do you think her coworker's just at the point she's like, Yeah, you're slowing me down at this point.
• 2:40
  SPEAKER_02: Oh, you know.
• 2:41
SPEAKER_02: Because the people that make these mistakes are usually the loud ones that don't acknowledge, you know, I mean, they just they it seems that their their mind is more elsewhere than actually working on the big picture of the details.
• 2:55
SPEAKER_01: So I was not thinking that at first.
• 2:58
SPEAKER_01: At first I was like, oh, she just doesn't like her personality, and she is trying to push her out.
• 3:02
SPEAKER_01: So you try to create an ally with the boss, and then and I'm assuming you and the boss have talked, and so maybe even the boss says, just see me.
• 3:11
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, that's fine.
• 3:12
  SPEAKER_02: I could see that.
• 3:13
SPEAKER_01: And and here we are now where she's this is this is what she's hoping to be the push out.
• 3:19
SPEAKER_01: But you know, and that's the kind of stuff where you I don't know how often you go home and complain about work, but when I complain about work, it's the small things that I complain about.
• 3:28
SPEAKER_01: I'm like, oh my god.
• 3:30
SPEAKER_01: Scout didn't do how many times, no, it's not even that, how many times do I have to say, you know, blah blah blah blah blah about filling out this paperwork or whatever, whatever the case may be.
• 3:41
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and it doesn't happen.
• 3:42
SPEAKER_02: Do you think that I just wonder if that is the the other coworker is going, I've had my fill of you not doing what you need to do, so I can do what I gotta do.
• 3:52
SPEAKER_01: I think this person definitely needs to communicate with the boss, though, because you know, she's frustrated and she should say so that way I think you could at least get a vibe from the boss, uh, and the boss can say, Well, you are making a lot of mistakes, or is the boss gonna give Or is the boss very passive, you know, and like uh just won't acknowledge it and be like, oh, all right.
• 4:12
SPEAKER_02: Because the other thing I was gonna suggest, and you might or might not like this, she should start doing the exact same thing and let them just have the you know, let it be that way because eventually it'll either get to the point that, yeah, it's patty, but eventually they'll both be in front of the boss and they can both air it out.
• 4:27
SPEAKER_01: Right, because the boss is like, I can't take that off.
• 4:31
SPEAKER_02: Right, because there's no way the other girl does nobody's perfect, okay?
• 4:36
  SPEAKER_02: I'm not saying that.
• 4:37
SPEAKER_02: But if you start doing it back to the other person, well, number one, it it it makes them go, huh?
• 4:43
SPEAKER_02: Okay, they're on to me.
• 4:44
SPEAKER_02: Number two, you're right, eventually it's gonna get there to a head.
• 4:49
SPEAKER_02: But I have that thought afterwards.
• 4:51
SPEAKER_02: After after hearing the story and the complaint about it, it makes me go, could the other girl just be fed up with her just screwing up all the time, even the little things.
• 5:00
  SPEAKER_01: When do you CC?
• 5:01
SPEAKER_01: You CC when you want the boss to know and to call them out.
• 5:05
SPEAKER_01: So I think it could be it could be both.
• 5:08
SPEAKER_01: It could be I'm sick of the little things and I'm gonna want to push her out.
• 5:12
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 5:12
SPEAKER_02: And then at the same time, do you start CCing from your side back to her?
• 5:16
  SPEAKER_01: No, I think that's petty.
• 5:18
SPEAKER_01: I think you have to talk to the boss.
• 5:20
SPEAKER_01: It is, but you don't want to be equally as petty.
• 5:23
SPEAKER_01: Don't don't go below, don't put yourself to that level.
• 5:26
  SPEAKER_02: Okay.
• 5:27
  unknown: All right.
• 5:27
SPEAKER_01: I think she needs to talk to her boss.
• 5:29
  SPEAKER_02: Any thoughts?
• 5:29
SPEAKER_02: You guys can text us real quick on the app.
• 5:31
SPEAKER_02: Uh I'd like to see what you picked up on that.
