- 0:00Speaker 1: Toby and Chili Mornings On Demand on 97.1 Wash FM.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Well, welcome, welcome, welcome. It is Thursday morning at 97.1
- 0:09Speaker 2: Wash FM on this September 24th. We're Toby and Chili
- 0:13Speaker 2: in the morning. Thank you for picking us out of
- 0:16Speaker 2: all of the noise that can envelop your morning. Yeah,
- 0:19Speaker 2: you know, getting the kids up, getting their lunch ready,
- 0:21Speaker 2: making sure they didn't lose any articles of clothing like shoes.
- 0:25Speaker 2: It can be an interesting morning, but nonetheless... You're up
- 0:29Speaker 2: to take on a brand new day, and so are we.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Why are you feeling good this morning there, Chilliam?
- 0:34Speaker 3: Today is my sister's birthday.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Oh, yes.
- 0:36Speaker 3: Happy birthday to you.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Big celebration.
- 0:40Speaker 4: I know.
- 0:40Speaker 3: We're going to be celebrating this weekend. But I'm feeling
- 0:43Speaker 3: good because after searching and searching, we found a great
- 0:49Speaker 3: orthodontist for my son, and he today gets his braces.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Oh, Lord.
- 0:58Speaker 3: We're doing the invisible kind. It's not Invisalign. It's like
- 1:03Speaker 3: angel aligners. They're similar in the same vein.
- 1:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:08Speaker 3: So, you know, just here we go. Hey. Here we go.
- 1:11Speaker 2: It's a rite of passage for some. I found out
- 1:15Speaker 2: a while ago that, you know, when we were younger,
- 1:19Speaker 2: they had different methods toward dentistry. And they actually pulled
- 1:23Speaker 2: a certain teeth of mine in order for everything else
- 1:26Speaker 2: to grow in straight.
- 1:27Speaker 3: Yeah, that is no longer the way to go.
- 1:28Speaker 2: It's not accepted practice, I guess. Yeah, I know. But
- 1:31Speaker 2: you know what? I guess it worked. So for the
- 1:33Speaker 2: most part, for the most part.
- 1:36Speaker 3: Why are you feeling good?
- 1:38Speaker 2: You know, I'm feeling good today, Chilly, because in spite
- 1:43Speaker 2: of all of the stuff in the news that can
- 1:46Speaker 2: really grate on us, you know what I mean? There
- 1:49Speaker 2: are good stories all around the DMV when you take
- 1:52Speaker 2: a look. Not just the ones that make our Monday
- 1:54Speaker 2: or the stories that make us feel good on Friday,
- 1:56Speaker 2: but those really are the tip of the iceberg. When
- 1:59Speaker 2: you start digging around, you find that there's more good
- 2:01Speaker 2: going on that never gets attention, that nobody ever talks about.
- 2:06Speaker 2: And people don't seek out fame or fortune for doing good.
- 2:11Speaker 2: They just do it. And when you encounter people who
- 2:15Speaker 2: just operate that way, It's really good for the soul.
- 2:18Speaker 2: And I was around a couple of those people yesterday
- 2:21Speaker 2: after physical therapy. And I just can't say enough good
- 2:27Speaker 2: things about how what normal people go through every day
- 2:32Speaker 2: is a good news story in itself. And then the
- 2:35Speaker 2: stuff that they do to help, it's even more powerful.
- 2:38Speaker 2: So maybe you can be that for somebody today.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Maybe.
- 2:41Speaker 2: We're Toby and Chili in the morning, feeling good.
- 2:43Speaker 4: 866-927-4361.

- 5:25Speaker 2: moments from now stay right there unless you need to

- 5:44Speaker 3: This is where we try to inspire you, motivate you.
- 5:47Speaker 4: How?
- 5:47Speaker 3: By finding a quote and sharing it with you to
- 5:50Speaker 3: think about as you take on the rest of your day.
- 5:52Speaker 2: And once again, back to the Mel Robbins. Well, because
- 5:55Speaker 2: she is just full of so many great things that
- 6:00Speaker 2: really speak to you. If you listen, if you're willing
- 6:03Speaker 2: to listen. One of those things she has to say
- 6:06Speaker 2: is that you are one decision away from a completely
- 6:09Speaker 2: different life. You're one decision away from a completely different life.
- 6:15Speaker 2: Think about transformation. Sometimes we imagine that it requires some
- 6:20Speaker 2: big moment, some dramatic choice, like it's an IMAX or something.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Sometimes it's just an ordinary day, like today, when you
- 6:31Speaker 2: finally decide, enough, I'm going to change this. And when
- 6:35Speaker 2: you do, boy, the power you unleash, you won't even
- 6:39Speaker 2: have to say a word. People will notice it. You're
- 6:42Speaker 2: one decision away from a completely different life. So if
- 6:47Speaker 2: you need to make that change, go ahead. And you
- 6:50Speaker 2: don't have to tell anybody you've done it. Just do.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Mel Robbins with your morning mindset. If you need it,
- 6:56Speaker 2: find it. Tell me at ChiliPage. WatchFM.com. Reach out. Send
- 6:59Speaker 2: it your way. In the meantime, stay there because next
- 7:02Speaker 2: we're going to get into this. Oh, yeah.
- 7:04Speaker 3: A new survey reveals how Americans greet each other when
- 7:08Speaker 3: they meet for the first time. Is it casual? or
- 7:13Speaker 3: a little more touchy-feely than you'd like.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Now remember, you can always take part in any conversation
- 7:18Speaker 2: you hear us having when you call 866-927-4361. Or if
- 7:22Speaker 2: it's easier and you're listening on your iHeart app, tap
- 7:25Speaker 2: that talkback microphone. You'll see it if you're signed in.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Toby and Chili in the morning. It is 97.1 Wash FM.
- 7:31Speaker 2: Are you a hugger? Now, the percentage of Americans that
- 7:36Speaker 2: greet somebody with a hug isn't that big, but nonetheless,
- 7:40Speaker 2: people are greeting someone that they've met for the first
- 7:43Speaker 2: time with a hug? 5%.
- 7:45Speaker 3: You're right. It's not that high. The most popular way,
- 7:47Speaker 3: of course, is a handshake.
- 7:49Speaker 5: Don't judge.
- 7:49Speaker 3: I've hugged people meeting them for the first time, and
- 7:52Speaker 3: there's a very specific scenario, Toby, that this happens. Let's
- 7:56Speaker 3: say I'm meeting your girlfriend for the first time, right?
- 7:58Speaker 4: Mm-hmm.
- 7:59Speaker 3: I've heard so much about her. I feel like I
- 8:01Speaker 3: already know her. We approach each other the very first
- 8:04Speaker 3: time I'd give her a hug. Does that make sense?
- 8:07Speaker 3: So she's not a total stranger, but of course I'd
- 8:11Speaker 3: have to make sure she's okay with a hug. I
- 8:13Speaker 3: wouldn't like walk up to somebody at a wedding or
- 8:15Speaker 3: something like that and like hug them for the first
- 8:17Speaker 3: time on the way.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Out, I might, but not greeting them. Yeah, these days,
- 8:21Speaker 2: you got to be careful about that stuff. You don't
- 8:23Speaker 2: know what people's sensitivities are. And maybe it's a byproduct
- 8:27Speaker 2: of the times in which we live. But I will
- 8:29Speaker 2: greet somebody with a hug for the first time. It
- 8:32Speaker 2: really is a case-by-case paces.
- 8:34Speaker 3: Sure.
- 8:34Speaker 2: Are they smoke shows? If they are, then I'll hug them.
- 8:38Speaker 2: The same goes for guys.
- 8:39Speaker 3: Even though you've got a girlfriend.
- 8:41Speaker 4: Okay.
- 8:42Speaker 2: Well, it's not like it's a bad hug. It's a
- 8:44Speaker 2: friend hug.
- 8:44Speaker 3: Yeah, but you said that you're only hugging them if
- 8:46Speaker 3: they're hot. What does that have to do with anything?
- 8:48Speaker 2: Anybody can be a smoke show. It's not about how
- 8:50Speaker 2: you look. It's about how you are. It's your countenance,
- 8:53Speaker 2: your soul, your spirit.
- 8:55Speaker 4: Okay.
- 8:55Speaker 2: You're beautiful, and I want to hug you so I
- 8:58Speaker 2: can have some of that beautiness rub off on me.
- 9:01Speaker 3: So if Toby doesn't hug you, he doesn't think you're.
- 9:03Speaker 6: A smoke show.
- 9:04Speaker 2: That's not true.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Well, you literally just said you're a smoke show.
- 9:06Speaker 2: No, no, no. You're asking if I'm making a spur
- 9:09Speaker 2: of the moment decision. Does it sound like I'm talking
- 9:11Speaker 2: myself into a corner? Because I am.
- 9:13Speaker 3: You already did.
- 9:14Speaker 2: I know. Keep digging. I'm just going to keep on
- 9:17Speaker 2: shoveling over here.
- 9:18Speaker 3: Yes.
- 9:19Speaker 2: But I'll hug you in the process, even if we've
- 9:21Speaker 2: never met before. So what would you do? 866-927-4361. Are
- 9:27Speaker 2: you a hugger? Will you greet somebody for the first
- 9:29Speaker 2: time with a hug? Let us know your thoughts. Tap
- 9:31Speaker 2: that talkback microphone. And hang out because right around 610,
- 9:35Speaker 2: we've got the news. Top stories at the top of
- 9:37Speaker 2: the hour. Chili, what are you working on?
- 9:39Speaker 3: A new survey reveals the D.C. area's... Favorite dog breed?

- 10:07Speaker 3: love for you to join us. All the details are

- 10:30Speaker 3: on that story and others on the way with Toby
- 10:33Speaker 3: and Chili in the morning on 97.1 Wash FM.
- 10:40Speaker 5: Top stories, top of the hour.
- 10:42Speaker 3: A federal judge overnight temporarily restored White House access for
- 10:46Speaker 3: journalists from CNN, MSNOW, and Politico. The outlets had sued
- 10:51Speaker 3: after the president banned their reporters, and the judge blocked
- 10:54Speaker 3: that ban for 14 days. A Temple Hills man has
- 10:58Speaker 3: been charged with murdering his 13-month-old son, police say 26-year-old
- 11:03Speaker 3: Alwyn Strachan. admitted he injured the boy who died from
- 11:08Speaker 3: blunt force trauma last week. Virginia State Police are still
- 11:12Speaker 3: investigating a shooting on 66 in Fairfax County. A passenger
- 11:16Speaker 3: in a Toyota RAV4 was hurt after police say somebody

- 11:24Speaker 3: was not life-threatening. D.C. council members are considering new taxes
- 11:29Speaker 3: to raise money for city services. Proposals include higher taxes
- 11:33Speaker 3: on high-end second homes and investment income, plus a possible
- 11:38Speaker 3: sales tax increase. No new tax hikes are set for
- 11:42Speaker 3: this fall. A broken fountain outside Fairfax County's Heritage Building
- 11:47Speaker 3: is now a new art installation that honors the impact
- 11:51Speaker 3: of COVID-19. Circles of Memory features concentric circles, seating, and
- 11:57Speaker 3: also spaces for reflection, mediation, and mental health. And finally,
- 12:02Speaker 3: the D.C. area's favorite dog breed is the Labrador Retriever.
- 12:07Speaker 3: A recent survey finds that labs are the most popular
- 12:10Speaker 3: breed in the DMV. And in 28 states overall, golden
- 12:15Speaker 3: retrievers are the favorite in eight states. Forecast today, cloudy
- 12:20Speaker 3: skies with highs around 66. Right now, though, 51 in

- 12:26Speaker 2: get top stories at the top of the hour here
- 12:29Speaker 2: at 97.1 Wash FM. I seem to recall a doctor
- 12:32Speaker 2: telling me once, if you scratch it, it will not heal.
- 12:36Speaker 2: But this might be some scratching you want to embrace.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Tell you more in a few. As parents, we teach
- 12:43Speaker 2: our kids not to scratch those itches. As grownups, doctors
- 12:47Speaker 2: remind us that if you scratch that itch, it may
- 12:49Speaker 2: never heal. Whatever it is, it's causing that itch or whatever.
- 12:53Speaker 2: It's 97.1 Wash FM. Toby and Chili in the morning,
- 12:56Speaker 2: but these might be some scratches you want to embrace,
- 13:00Speaker 2: especially if you have some stress in your life.
- 13:03Speaker 3: Well, there's a 32-year-old man in China. He opened up
- 13:05Speaker 3: a couple of scratching salons where people are paying 40
- 13:10Speaker 3: bucks an hour to have staff gently scratch their backs
- 13:13Speaker 3: and bodies using these specially designed fingernails, like plastic fingernails.
- 13:18Speaker 3: And this guy said that the idea came after he
- 13:22Speaker 3: saw a video of a wife that was scratching her
- 13:24Speaker 3: husband's back. And there were a ton of comments saying, oh,
- 13:26Speaker 3: I would gladly pay for a service like that. And
- 13:29Speaker 3: he says, yeah, people are actually paying for that service.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Well, in the right hands, a scratch can be therapeutic.
- 13:35Speaker 2: Wait a minute.
- 13:36Speaker 3: Do you not know what I'm talking about? Like, didn't
- 13:37Speaker 3: you ever like scratch your daughter's back to help her
- 13:39Speaker 3: sleep or maybe your parents?
- 13:41Speaker 2: I kind of rubbed it. Sometimes I like a little
- 13:43Speaker 2: bit of nail if they're like rubbing my back or whatever.
- 13:46Speaker 2: And they can, you know, they do like a. Nice, soft,
- 13:48Speaker 2: gentle sort of scratch. Yeah, exactly.
- 13:50Speaker 3: It actually gives goosebumps if they're doing it well. You know,
- 13:53Speaker 3: it just feels so good.
- 13:54Speaker 2: It triggers things. That's true. Well, you know, I can
- 13:57Speaker 2: see where it might be therapeutic.
- 14:00Speaker 3: But would it be weird to pay somebody to... literally
- 14:04Speaker 3: put on these plastic fingernails.
- 14:05Speaker 2: That's where i run into a problem because i'm i'm
- 14:08Speaker 2: thinking that you know scratching like that is kind of
- 14:11Speaker 2: a intimate sort of thing not something i would pay
- 14:13Speaker 2: 40 for for somebody to go wear some fake you
- 14:17Speaker 2: know scratcher hands you know i mean i can go
- 14:19Speaker 2: get a back scratcher myself i guess maybe i'd have
- 14:22Speaker 2: to wrap my head around it but then again i'll
- 14:24Speaker 2: let a total stranger massage me.
- 14:26Speaker 3: I see what you're saying. I think it all depends
- 14:29Speaker 3: on where they're, if they're just focused on my back,
- 14:32Speaker 3: totally fine. There are places even here in the US
- 14:36Speaker 3: where you can go get like scalp scratches and massages.
- 14:39Speaker 3: I mean, those are growing in popularity, people playing with
- 14:42Speaker 3: your hands. takes it to the back area.
- 14:46Speaker 2: A different level. No pun intended. Something you would do?
- 14:50Speaker 2: Get your back scratched by a total stranger for 40
- 14:53Speaker 2: bucks because it'll relax you and de-stress you. Read more
- 14:56Speaker 2: if you want the Toby and Chili page at washfm.com.
- 14:59Speaker 3: There's a debate blowing up online after a recruiter warned
- 15:03Speaker 3: that showing up to a job interview with an iced
- 15:05Speaker 3: latte can really come across as too casual.
- 15:08Speaker 2: And you'll find out why. Washington's Variety from the 80s,
- 15:13Speaker 2: 90s of today. We're Toby and Chili in the morning
- 15:14Speaker 2: at 97.1 Wash FM. This debate is just popping off online.
- 15:19Speaker 2: Have you seen it? There's a recruiter with a warning.
- 15:23Speaker 3: To Gen Z specifically about showing up to a job interview.
- 15:27Speaker 6: When you show up with an iced coffee or an
- 15:29Speaker 6: iced latte, this interview.
- 15:31Speaker 5: Is just like a stop on your list of errands
- 15:33Speaker 5: for the day. It looks a little too casual.
- 15:36Speaker 2: Well, that's one person's opinion.
- 15:38Speaker 3: You don't think that somebody showing up with an iced
- 15:41Speaker 3: coffee gives a vibe of like, you know what? I'm
- 15:44Speaker 3: not taking this seriously.
- 15:45Speaker 2: No, not at all. You showed up with an iced coffee.
- 15:48Speaker 2: There's nothing wrong with that. You need a little pick
- 15:50Speaker 2: me up in the morning. I would rather know about
- 15:52Speaker 2: your skills. I would rather talk to you about places
- 15:55Speaker 2: you've worked before. I would ask you what your former
- 15:59Speaker 2: hiring manager, your former direct report would have to say
- 16:02Speaker 2: about you if I called them.
- 16:03Speaker 3: Well, that's the interview itself. This is the first impression
- 16:06Speaker 3: when somebody walks in is maybe what they're wearing, what
- 16:08Speaker 3: they carry with them. That's what this part is about.
- 16:11Speaker 3: So you don't care if they came in with a
- 16:12Speaker 3: nice beverage.
- 16:13Speaker 2: No, not at all. In fact, I'd be like, oh, man,
- 16:15Speaker 2: you should have brought me one.
- 16:17Speaker 3: Okay.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Might have helped.
- 16:18Speaker 3: Maybe I'm a little more old school because I think
- 16:20Speaker 3: that there is something to be said about iced coffee,
- 16:23Speaker 3: a little sound of the ice during the interview as
- 16:26Speaker 3: this person is taking sips or the condensation leaving a
- 16:29Speaker 3: little ring on the desk.
- 16:30Speaker 4: Oh.
- 16:31Speaker 3: They offer you a beverage. That's one thing. But if
- 16:33Speaker 3: you bring your own, it's probably not the right place
- 16:36Speaker 3: to do that. Although I could say it depends on
- 16:39Speaker 3: the type of job you're applying for, too. But overall,
- 16:41Speaker 3: I'd leave that in the car and enjoy it afterwards.
- 16:44Speaker 2: And there you have it. Chili's take more on the
- 16:47Speaker 2: conservative side. Me, I'm like, hey, it's an ice latte.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Tell me what you're going to bring to our organization.
- 16:53Speaker 2: And where's my ice latte while we're at it? What

- 20:52Speaker 2: Jonas Brothers tickets. What's your guess?
- 20:54Speaker 4: Going for a walk or a hike.
- 20:56Speaker 3: Oh, that's an excellent guess. Getting closer to the actual answer,
- 21:02Speaker 3: but that's not quite.
- 21:04Speaker 2: The one we're looking for. However, thank you for playing
- 21:07Speaker 2: and for joining us this morning.
- 21:08Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 21:09Speaker 3: Have a great day.
- 21:10Speaker 2: You too. Try again tomorrow for these Jonas Brothers tickets.

- 21:27Speaker 3: Okay, again, we're kind of dancing around the actual answer,
- 21:31Speaker 3: but that, again, is not the right one we're looking for.
- 21:35Speaker 2: Oh, man, you were so close. So close.
- 21:39Speaker 3: All right, well, best of luck.
- 21:40Speaker 2: And try again tomorrow, okay? All right, thank you. And
- 21:43Speaker 2: who is this? Where are you from?

- 21:55Speaker 3: I think it's vitamin C. Oh, sunlight.
- 21:58Speaker 4: Okay.
- 21:59Speaker 3: Getting some sunlight and the vitamin C. The going outdoors
- 22:03Speaker 3: guesses were getting close, but the actual one you just gave,
- 22:07Speaker 3: it is the sunlight. Sunlight is the key.
- 22:09Speaker 2: Well, congratulations. You're going to the Jonas Brothers.
- 22:12Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 22:13Speaker 2: And you don't have to worry about being outside because

- 22:49Speaker 3: you do for yourself that makes you feel very put together.
- 22:53Speaker 3: What is it? 866-927-4361 to join the conversation.
- 22:59Speaker 2: So we can tell you in the morning, 97.1, watch FM,
- 23:03Speaker 2: tap the talk back microphone for this one. If you're
- 23:05Speaker 2: signed into your iHeart app, you'll see it right there.
- 23:08Speaker 2: Just tap speak and send us your thoughts about this.
- 23:11Speaker 2: Tell us the one little thing, the one little thing
- 23:15Speaker 2: that you get for yourself that makes you feel like
- 23:18Speaker 2: you have your life together. It's a little thing, not
- 23:20Speaker 2: like a vacation or a new car.
- 23:21Speaker 3: No, no, no, no, no.
- 23:23Speaker 2: Talking about something small that you do for yourself.
- 23:29Speaker 3: It's it's my nails, my manicure, although I buy these
- 23:33Speaker 3: and I stick them on my finger.
- 23:35Speaker 2: Yes, I see them. They're the Lee press on.
- 23:37Speaker 5: No, they're not.
- 23:38Speaker 3: Lee, the brand is impressed. Let's give credit where credit
- 23:41Speaker 3: is due. And I discovered these during the pandemia and
- 23:43Speaker 3: I've never gone back to paying somebody because I get
- 23:46Speaker 3: more compliments wearing these press on ones that you just
- 23:49Speaker 3: peel and stick than I ever did paying a lot
- 23:52Speaker 3: more for them.
- 23:53Speaker 2: I will say I knew a woman who actually sold those.
- 23:56Speaker 3: That's a different type of peeling and sticking. But yeah,
- 23:59Speaker 3: women who are in the business of this.
- 24:01Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. And people swear by them because I
- 24:04Speaker 2: guess they really are incrementally cheaper than a manicure. And
- 24:07Speaker 2: if you can save money. Yeah. That's a good thing.
- 24:10Speaker 3: What is something small that you do to feel put together?
- 24:12Speaker 2: I go get my head shaved. There's nothing quite like it.
- 24:16Speaker 2: It's kind of akin to getting a manicure or a pedicure,
- 24:20Speaker 2: only it's just the most just relaxing thing because they
- 24:24Speaker 2: put a hot towel on your head at first to
- 24:26Speaker 2: open up the pores. Then they get the straight razor
- 24:28Speaker 2: out and they just start shaving.
- 24:29Speaker 3: But also, you don't look like as you put at
- 24:31Speaker 3: a Chia Pet.
- 24:32Speaker 2: No, you don't.
- 24:33Speaker 3: Because it's just nice and smooth, and that really puts
- 24:36Speaker 3: the whole look together when you leave the house and
- 24:39Speaker 3: do anything in public.
- 24:40Speaker 2: That's right. However, if you neglect it, that Chia Pet look,
- 24:43Speaker 2: no bueno.
- 24:44Speaker 3: Right. None.
- 24:45Speaker 2: You look like you got some problems there, boy. What's
- 24:48Speaker 2: wrong with your head? What is that growing up there?
- 24:50Speaker 2: What do you do?
- 24:51Speaker 3: 866-927-4361.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Is it a haircut, blowout, styling? Maybe it could be
- 24:58Speaker 2: something as simple as running your car through the car wash,
- 25:01Speaker 2: you know? Going shopping with no agenda, but to get
- 25:06Speaker 2: whatever it is you see that makes you feel good.
- 25:09Speaker 2: Let's talk. Tap the TalkBack microphone right now. You're listening
- 25:13Speaker 2: on your iHeart app, right? Send us a quick voice
- 25:16Speaker 2: note and tell us, and we'll keep our conversation going
- 25:20Speaker 2: in a few. However, right around 8, 10, we've got
- 25:23Speaker 2: the news for you. Top stories at the top of
- 25:25Speaker 2: the hour. Chili, what's good?
- 25:26Speaker 3: Metro is celebrating 50 years with five commemorative smart trip cards.
- 25:32Speaker 3: I've got all the details coming up in just a few.
- 25:35Speaker 2: Don't answer this out loud because I know the kids
- 25:37Speaker 2: might be in the car. Toby and Chili in the morning.
- 25:39Speaker 2: It's 97.1 Wash FM. But sometimes those kids drive you
- 25:42Speaker 2: crazy on the weekend. Costco run, Target run. You've got
- 25:45Speaker 2: to go do all of these things. Then they have
- 25:47Speaker 2: to go to this event or that practice. I get it.
- 25:51Speaker 2: And sometimes the weekend can be anything but calm. But
- 25:54Speaker 2: that's where our best of the 80s and 90s weekends
- 25:58Speaker 2: come in here at 97.1 Wash FM.
- 26:00Speaker 3: Listen every Friday at 5 p.m. when Sabrina Conti kicks
- 26:04Speaker 3: it off.
- 26:05Speaker 2: And then we bring back all the songs from when
- 26:07Speaker 2: you were the one driving your parents crazy.
- 26:10Speaker 1: 97.1 WASH-FM, Washington.

- 27:43Speaker 3: after overspending on overtime maintenance and operations. Officials blame a
- 27:48Speaker 3: spreadsheet error and are considering service cuts and other ways
- 27:52Speaker 3: to save money. Metro is celebrating 50 years with five
- 27:56Speaker 3: commemorative smart trip card designs. So starting today, a new

- 29:38Speaker 2: I love it.
- 29:39Speaker 4: Oh, and the one thing that makes me feel put
- 29:41Speaker 4: together is definitely blush. I have like blush blindness and
- 29:44Speaker 4: I feel like even if I look like crap, if
- 29:46Speaker 4: I throw on a really good blush, I just look
- 29:49Speaker 4: really put together.
- 29:50Speaker 2: Blush blindness, Chili?
- 29:52Speaker 3: Oh, that's when you don't realize how much blush you
- 29:55Speaker 3: actually have on your face and you just keep adding
- 29:57Speaker 3: more and more on. Oh, yes.
- 30:00Speaker 2: I think I've seen that before. It's called Instagram. We're

- 30:15Speaker 6: like I'm put together that I buy for myself is
- 30:19Speaker 6: a lipstick. that kind of goes with my outfit or
- 30:22Speaker 6: the season. You know, it's something that's inexpensive, but really
- 30:26Speaker 6: has a big impact.
- 30:27Speaker 3: It makes me feel good.
- 30:28Speaker 2: Thank you for the talkback message this morning there, Stacey. So, Chili,
- 30:32Speaker 2: why is makeup that one thing, it seems, that most
- 30:36Speaker 2: of the women who have reached out to us has
- 30:39Speaker 2: said makes them feel good?
- 30:40Speaker 3: Well, because I think it just highlights certain facial features.
- 30:43Speaker 2: OK, it reminds me of that Saturday Night Live skit
- 30:46Speaker 2: where the guy goes, it's not how you feel, it's
- 30:49Speaker 2: how you look. But I haven't even got my lipstick on.
- 30:52Speaker 5: I feel positively naked without it.
- 30:55Speaker 2: Global Citizen does so much good for so many people

- 32:16Speaker 2: need some big cinematic moments to tell you that change
- 32:21Speaker 2: is here. Sometimes change It's just a quiet choice. It's
- 32:25Speaker 2: a time when you decide enough's enough and I'm changing this.
