- 0:18Speaker 3: The World's a virginal podcast. Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. Comments
- 0:29Speaker 3: on Remandre yes continual.
- 0:31Speaker 4: Yes, Yeah, I wouldn't expect to see him in the
- 0:33Speaker 4: starting lineup.
- 0:33Speaker 3: Paul says, with his eyebrows raised. Now he had forty
- 0:36Speaker 3: yards bread, and he would have had less if he
- 0:39Speaker 3: hadn't been breaking tackles.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Wow.
- 0:41Speaker 4: Yeah, I say this a lot, usually two or three
- 0:44Speaker 4: times a season. I wish Fred was like my coach
- 0:46Speaker 4: or my teacher in school. It's a very low bar.
- 0:49Speaker 3: Earlier in the show, Mike, you were in the locker
- 0:51Speaker 3: room putting Ben gay On.
- 0:54Speaker 4: I say this to Felgray Mass all the time on
- 0:56Speaker 4: my show. Mike especially is really good.
- 0:58Speaker 3: At making things up. Do what's best for the team,
- 1:02Speaker 3: and cut Mike do so the team is on a
- 1:04Speaker 3: downward spiral since you hired him. Only kidding, Mike, I
- 1:08Speaker 3: still like you.
- 1:10Speaker 5: Brent Insigne Baseball Jewish Halla on Rosashana is round.
- 1:15Speaker 4: I thought it was holla, holla, who and.
- 1:18Speaker 3: What would you ask if one you were trying to
- 1:20Speaker 3: get the biggest media scoop of the century.
- 1:23Speaker 6: I just asked Phil what he does with the sleevesy
- 1:25Speaker 6: cuts off.
- 1:25Speaker 2: This is Patriot's Unfiltered, presented by Toyota's official website.
- 1:29Speaker 3: For deals, buy a Toyota dot com. All right, welcome
- 1:35Speaker 3: to Patriots Unfiltered. It is Thursday here at Jillette Stadium,
- 1:39Speaker 3: and it's Paul and myself for the time being. We'll
- 1:42Speaker 3: be joined by a cast of thousands soon as soon
- 1:45Speaker 3: as they get out of the locker room. It's Evan Douce.
- 1:48Speaker 3: We'll be here. Alex to be here later because we've
- 1:50Speaker 3: got picks today. So I I understand that a couple
- 1:54Speaker 3: of us did okay, order has been okay, we'll get
- 1:58Speaker 3: We'll get to that later. But you know, we're talking
- 2:01Speaker 3: about the Patriots. We're talking about the Miami Dolphins coming
- 2:04Speaker 3: up this weekend. It's a game that I think most
- 2:08Speaker 3: people think the Patriots should win. Certainly, the Sharps have
- 2:12Speaker 3: the Patriots favored by one, one and a half or
- 2:15Speaker 3: something like that, which you say, oh, well, that doesn't
- 2:18Speaker 3: really mean much because you get three from being at home.
- 2:20Speaker 3: But the fact that the Patriots are favored, it's the
- 2:23Speaker 3: first time this season it might be the only time,
- 2:26Speaker 3: but we'll see. But certainly it is. It is a
- 2:31Speaker 3: game that the Patriots they should win. I think, yeah,
- 2:36Speaker 3: I don't know if I would go as far as
- 2:37Speaker 3: to say should, but they could win.
- 2:39Speaker 4: Yeah, absolutely, and I'm picking them. I'll eliminate the suspense
- 2:44Speaker 4: for later. I'm picking them to win this game. But yeah,
- 2:47Speaker 4: it's it's an opportunity that you have. You know, a
- 2:50Speaker 4: team that had aspirations that has been derailed by obviously
- 2:55Speaker 4: an enormous injury, and they haven't been able to overcome that.
- 2:58Speaker 4: And I think those kinds of situations are different than
- 3:01Speaker 4: what the Patriots are in. The Patriots sort of a rebuilding.
- 3:04Speaker 4: They know they rebuilding. They have a young rookie quarterback
- 3:07Speaker 4: who hasn't played yet. They're sort of trying to build
- 3:09Speaker 4: something to get him onto the field. Yep, Miami thought
- 3:12Speaker 4: that they would be a playoff team again. They've been
- 3:14Speaker 4: a playoff team in the last couple of years. They're
- 3:16Speaker 4: looking to take the next step and find success in
- 3:19Speaker 4: the playoffs, and they find themselves one and three. I
- 3:22Speaker 4: think there's a chance that there won't be a lot
- 3:25Speaker 4: of intensity on the visitors sideline on Sunday really, I
- 3:30Speaker 4: think that they are going to be looking at and saying,
- 3:33Speaker 4: you know, this season is lost and we have nowhere
- 3:37Speaker 4: to go and it's a big time disappointment.
- 3:40Speaker 3: Do you think word on that I'm.
- 3:42Speaker 4: Not saying that's going to happen. I'm saying it could.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Do you think word on that team has gotten around
- 3:45Speaker 3: about to his future that maybe hasn't gone public yet,
- 3:48Speaker 3: but the players know and that's affecting them.
- 3:51Speaker 4: I don't know. I think two is going to play,
- 3:54Speaker 4: but I don't know that for sure. But yeah, it's
- 3:58Speaker 4: it could be, and that could be make it even worse.
- 4:00Speaker 4: They know he's not coming back, So what's the sense, right?
- 4:03Speaker 4: If you're right, and.
- 4:05Speaker 3: That's what I'm I'm just just speculating, you know, it
- 4:07Speaker 3: could be just speculating they.
- 4:11Speaker 4: I know the Patriots don't want to hear about anybody
- 4:13Speaker 4: else's injury problems because the Patriots have had their share
- 4:16Speaker 4: huge one from Miami. Jalen Phillips out for the year,
- 4:20Speaker 4: needs surgery on his knee. So it's not getting any
- 4:24Speaker 4: better for the Dolphins.
- 4:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I think Young Evan had a nice post on
- 4:31Speaker 3: Patriots dot com this morning. It might have come out
- 4:34Speaker 3: yesterday evening just his matchup post for this game. And
- 4:38Speaker 3: you know, if you want to get into the x's
- 4:39Speaker 3: and o's, that's the place to go. But it was
- 4:42Speaker 3: become a coach, Yeah, it was. It was a lot
- 4:45Speaker 3: of what we talked about yesterday, or he talked about
- 4:47Speaker 3: yesterday about you know what Miami likes to do, what
- 4:52Speaker 3: the Patriots like to do, what teams are doing against
- 4:55Speaker 3: the Patriots, especially the last two games, and if Miami
- 5:00Speaker 3: could replicate that. But certainly, you know, he's setting it
- 5:03Speaker 3: up to be a game where the Patriots have a
- 5:05Speaker 3: good shot of winning as well.
- 5:07Speaker 4: Yeah, but yeah, this is I mean, this is an offense,
- 5:10Speaker 4: Like I said yesterday, it's it's the only offense that
- 5:13Speaker 4: scored less than you have, right, so you should have
- 5:16Speaker 4: the game. You know, that whole unsustainable Cincinnati thing that
- 5:18Speaker 4: we talked about. This should be another one of those
- 5:20Speaker 4: games at worst.
- 5:21Speaker 3: And they haven't.
- 5:22Speaker 4: For the Patriots, they haven't.
- 5:23Speaker 3: Led in a game this season.
- 5:24Speaker 4: No, they kicked a walk off field goal as time expired,
- 5:28Speaker 4: so they won the game, but they never actually had
- 5:30Speaker 4: the lead right during until the game was over.
- 5:32Speaker 3: That's something.
- 5:33Speaker 4: Yeah, Yeah, first time since like twenty sixteen. That's happened
- 5:37Speaker 4: first four games, and I think the winless Browns did it. Yeah,
- 5:40Speaker 4: they didn't hold the lead in the first four weeks. Yeah,
- 5:43Speaker 4: something like that. I don't know, you know me, it's
- 5:46Speaker 4: it's probably that's probably about ninety five percent true. But
- 5:48Speaker 4: they screwed something up.
- 5:50Speaker 3: I mean, in other Miami news, the owner is selling
- 5:54Speaker 3: I think eighteen percent of the team.
- 5:56Speaker 4: Oh is it? I didn't know that.
- 5:57Speaker 3: Yeah, so interested, he's looking to get a little cash.
- 6:00Speaker 4: You interested eighteen percent? No, that'd be a conflict of interest.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Do you have to actually pay for that?
- 6:05Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 6:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm out. I'm out.
- 6:08Speaker 4: Probably, you're probably right.
- 6:09Speaker 3: I'm still trying to buy a TV. I mean, you know,
- 6:12Speaker 3: I know.
- 6:12Speaker 4: A lot of I mean a lot of people retire,
- 6:14Speaker 4: you know, a lot of New England just retire to Florida.
- 6:16Speaker 4: So I thought that might be a good fallback for that.
- 6:18Speaker 3: No, no thanks, no, no thanks. Uh. Maybe maybe you
- 6:22Speaker 3: think the craft would give me a piece of this
- 6:24Speaker 3: team when I retire. Yeah, but it doesn't it doesn't matter.
- 6:29Speaker 3: Like you can buy a piece of a team, but
- 6:31Speaker 3: it doesn't do any good until you actually cash out, right,
- 6:34Speaker 3: you know.
- 6:35Speaker 4: Like if they gave me a piece of the team,
- 6:37Speaker 4: I would cash it out like twenty minutes later, right.
- 6:39Speaker 3: I can just hand me the money.
- 6:40Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, we bother with the formalities or you have your.
- 6:45Speaker 3: Own buyer lined up as soon as they do it,
- 6:48Speaker 3: all right, what else? What else we got? We got
- 6:52Speaker 3: DeVante Adams still out there.
- 6:54Speaker 4: That's probably still the biggest thing in the league. And
- 6:57Speaker 4: there's been a lot of talk. The Raiders have said
- 7:00Speaker 4: that they will accommodate his trade, but not necessarily exactly
- 7:04Speaker 4: allowing him to dictate it. So I know that there
- 7:07Speaker 4: was a lot about the two teams that he is
- 7:10Speaker 4: interested in, the Jets and the Saints, and the pretty
- 7:14Speaker 4: obvious reasons. The Jets for Aaron Rodgers and the Saints
- 7:17Speaker 4: for his connection to Derek Carr, who he played with
- 7:21Speaker 4: in college and for a year with the Raiders. So
- 7:25Speaker 4: I think Vegas wants to make sure that they're exploring
- 7:28Speaker 4: all avenues, sure, and getting the best deal for them.
- 7:33Speaker 4: But my guess is that the Jets would be the
- 7:37Speaker 4: landing spot.
- 7:38Speaker 3: I mean, listen, I think if you're close, a second
- 7:41Speaker 3: round pick is and that's what I hear that they're
- 7:43Speaker 3: looking for a second and maybe some other things. It
- 7:45Speaker 3: doesn't seem unreasonable if you're close, But if you're not,
- 7:49Speaker 3: like the Patriots.
- 7:51Speaker 4: He's thirty one, I think he's thirty two.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Thirty two now, you know so? Is that how it works?
- 7:57Speaker 3: You get older every year.
- 7:58Speaker 4: I let it go. I don't have to jump on everyone.
- 8:02Speaker 3: But you know so, I don't know if it makes
- 8:05Speaker 3: sense for a lot of teams that aren't close.
- 8:08Speaker 4: Yeah, no, I agree. And whether it's thirty one or
- 8:11Speaker 4: thirty two, you know your team's going to look at
- 8:14Speaker 4: it and say, will he be part of my team?
- 8:18Speaker 4: Will he be a big part of my offense when
- 8:20Speaker 4: I figure to be in contention? And you know, I
- 8:24Speaker 4: think if you're looking at it realistically from the Patriots,
- 8:26Speaker 4: probably not.
- 8:27Speaker 3: And he always seems to be bitching about something.
- 8:29Speaker 4: Well, he's another one of those guys. And it comes
- 8:32Speaker 4: with the position that you know the people that tell
- 8:34Speaker 4: you that, you know, the traditionalist Patriots fans that think
- 8:37Speaker 4: their success was built on the fact that they didn't
- 8:39Speaker 4: have stars and they had a strong middle class and
- 8:41Speaker 4: had nothing to do with having the greatest player who's
- 8:43Speaker 4: ever played. Those people, I will tell you this is
- 8:45Speaker 4: why these receivers, even now, they'll argue, these receivers never
- 8:48Speaker 4: win anything, which is absurd. But that's what they argue.
- 8:53Speaker 3: Yep, So I mean we almost won one with Randy but.
- 8:58Speaker 4: No, But again, did you know win because you had
- 9:00Speaker 4: a diva wide receiver that was setting records? You know, Like,
- 9:05Speaker 4: do you think Travis Kelsey's a diva?
- 9:07Speaker 3: I do you do?
- 9:08Speaker 5: Oh?
- 9:08Speaker 3: God, really, I see, I don't.
- 9:10Speaker 4: He's a lot.
- 9:11Speaker 3: You think he complains a lot and all that.
- 9:13Speaker 4: Well, he's just like he's the center of attention guy.
- 9:18Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I was gonna use a bad term. No,
- 9:20Speaker 4: he's a center of attention guys.
- 9:22Speaker 3: Like, we're going to get into one of these discussions again.
- 9:25Speaker 3: But my definition of a diva is someone who causes
- 9:28Speaker 3: problems because of their personality.
- 9:30Speaker 4: It can it can be that you can end up
- 9:33Speaker 4: being a Well that's that to me. Is Kelsey, P Yeah,
- 9:39Speaker 4: he has. He brings a lot of baggage with him.
- 9:42Speaker 4: I would just say, I understand what you're saying, and
- 9:45Speaker 4: you're right, Like there's a difference between being a diva.
- 9:48Speaker 4: Like Steph Diggs was in Buffalo, but he was really productive.
- 9:53Speaker 4: He was really good until the end, right when all
- 9:56Speaker 4: of a sudden the last half of last year, he
- 9:57Speaker 4: wasn't getting the same amount of production. Now it's a problem,
- 10:01Speaker 4: but he was a diva the whole time, Make no mistake,
- 10:04Speaker 4: you know, Mike and I used to argue about him
- 10:06Speaker 4: all the time because I just said, I'll take him,
- 10:09Speaker 4: and I would absolutely take him until he's no longer
- 10:11Speaker 4: productive because now the production's not outweighing the the off
- 10:16Speaker 4: field problems and that comes with that position all the time.
- 10:19Speaker 4: That's where the Raiders are right now with Adams. Although
- 10:22Speaker 4: it certainly seems I didn't know this until yesterday. Do
- 10:25Speaker 4: you know what the origin of him being traded is?
- 10:29Speaker 1: No.
- 10:30Speaker 4: Evidently Sports Illustrated put out something recently, like within the
- 10:34Speaker 4: last two weeks suggesting that DeVante Adams makes a lot
- 10:38Speaker 4: of sense as a trade candidate. You know, it's one
- 10:40Speaker 4: of those things that you know, the national guys are
- 10:43Speaker 4: always doing, you know, ten trades that make you know
- 10:46Speaker 4: you put the listicle up there and you know, watch
- 10:49Speaker 4: the clicks. Well, evidently Antonio Pearson liked it on Instagram.
- 10:53Speaker 4: Oh that like, what are you doing exactly? That's supposedly
- 10:59Speaker 4: what caused a lot of this friction. Now, I don't
- 11:00Speaker 4: know if that's.
- 11:01Speaker 3: He ever addressed that.
- 11:02Speaker 4: Pierce and just yeah, well he ended up deleting it.
- 11:05Speaker 4: Oh okay, but now he's getting like I saw a
- 11:09Speaker 4: little clip of him press his press conference, so he
- 11:11Speaker 4: got really evasive and defensive about it. Not a good look.
- 11:15Speaker 4: See some people were worried about the players that are playing,
- 11:17Speaker 4: or you know one of those that like, yeah, and
- 11:21Speaker 4: just so you know, I'm not in Vegas. That might
- 11:24Speaker 4: be overblown that story. That might be like sort of
- 11:26Speaker 4: the national thing. You know how that works. It's much
- 11:29Speaker 4: deep dumb, missing context. But I didn't know any of
- 11:32Speaker 4: that at all. I found it interesting.
- 11:34Speaker 3: A lot of people they use that like button as
- 11:36Speaker 3: a bookmark, but they shouldn't. There is a bookmark feature
- 11:40Speaker 3: an X that you can use when you hit like
- 11:43Speaker 3: other people find out about it, you know.
- 11:46Speaker 4: But what's the bookmark feature?
- 11:48Speaker 7: I don't do.
- 11:48Speaker 3: Yeah, I's only got to go into three dots and
- 11:50Speaker 3: it's in there. But anyway, you know who's getting killed
- 11:54Speaker 3: in Vegas right now? Josh McDaniels. He was trending the
- 11:59Speaker 3: other day and they're they're blaming a lot of what's
- 12:02Speaker 3: going on now back to Josh McDaniels.
- 12:06Speaker 4: Well, they don't see I think it's funny what's going
- 12:09Speaker 4: on with the Raiders, and that'd be interested to see
- 12:11Speaker 4: what ends up happening in this season, because I was
- 12:15Speaker 4: kind of surprised that they were able to beat Cleveland.
- 12:17Speaker 4: Just shows you that Cleveland's offense is really struggling. They
- 12:23Speaker 4: got what they wanted, you know, they they got They
- 12:26Speaker 4: got the player who had their backs and was going
- 12:29Speaker 4: to smoke cigars with them when they beat the one
- 12:31Speaker 4: win Giants in the coach. Yeah no, but the player, coach,
- 12:35Speaker 4: the former player. I got the player who's gonna have
- 12:38Speaker 4: you know, he's got their back and everything. And now
- 12:41Speaker 4: all of a sudden, they don't like you know, they're
- 12:44Speaker 4: kind of going nowhere. They have no quarterback. They they're
- 12:47Speaker 4: not a very good team. And then you know, you're
- 12:50Speaker 4: seeing like DeVante Adams wants out. He wanted Antonio Pierce
- 12:54Speaker 4: last year and now he wants out because he's been
- 12:58Speaker 4: feels like he's being disrespected. And this is what you get,
- 13:01Speaker 4: This is what you get. This is the fear of
- 13:03Speaker 4: these guys. I think with with Gerrod Mao, with Jamico Ryans,
- 13:08Speaker 4: you're not seeing that kind of insubordination, you know with
- 13:12Speaker 4: the player. Yeah, you know, no, I'm not telling you
- 13:15Speaker 4: that it's never gonna happen. But I mean Mayo has
- 13:17Speaker 4: been a coaching almost as long as Pierce has. Yeah,
- 13:20Speaker 4: and Pierce finished last year, you know, otherwise they're on
- 13:23Speaker 4: the same level.
- 13:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:25Speaker 4: So I just think sometimes you think that's what you want,
- 13:28Speaker 4: like this freedom and right respect and treat me like
- 13:31Speaker 4: a man, and it doesn't work. I don't know what
- 13:34Speaker 4: to do.
- 13:34Speaker 3: Like we've talked about, these guys are all alphas. These guys,
- 13:38Speaker 3: you know, they want to be told what to do.
- 13:40Speaker 3: They want to be put in positions to succeed, believe
- 13:44Speaker 3: it or not, whether regardless of what they say. Uh,
- 13:48Speaker 3: you know, it's and if you give them too much freedom,
- 13:51Speaker 3: they're going to take it, and it's it's disorder. It's
- 13:54Speaker 3: too many guys in the locker room to have to order. Yeah,
- 13:59Speaker 3: you gotta. And I'm not saying that you have to
- 14:01Speaker 3: be draconian about it, but you have to have order.
- 14:04Speaker 3: You have to have structure, you have to have rules,
- 14:07Speaker 3: and you have to have consequences when people break the rules,
- 14:12Speaker 3: and it has to be consistent and transparent.
- 14:15Speaker 4: So I gotta just look at some things here. No,
- 14:17Speaker 4: I totally agree. I'm looking at some things, you know,
- 14:20Speaker 4: looking at the the Dolphins in the Patriots. Do you
- 14:24Speaker 4: want to know what the Dolphins score by quarter is?
- 14:29Speaker 8: Uh?
- 14:30Speaker 4: Think I guess three? They are points by by quarter
- 14:32Speaker 4: each quarter? Ten ten seven six. That's for the season. Wow,
- 14:40Speaker 4: that's a game.
- 14:41Speaker 3: Yeah twenty Wow, like thirty points for the season thirty yeah.
- 14:45Speaker 4: Thirty three points. But like ten ten, seven to six.
- 14:48Speaker 4: I would bet the under if I know a lot
- 14:50Speaker 4: of people. You know, these all these game props that
- 14:53Speaker 4: you can do. Now, I don't know if like DraftKings,
- 14:56Speaker 4: if you're allowed to bet like the overunder of a
- 15:00Speaker 4: quarter just the first quarter. Yeah, the over under of
- 15:04Speaker 4: the first quarter has to be like three. Yeah, because
- 15:07Speaker 4: the Dolphins have scored ten points in the first corpter
- 15:09Speaker 4: all year. The Patriots have scored seven jeez all year.
- 15:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:15Speaker 9: Like that's the Patriots pregame show where that is actually
- 15:18Speaker 9: one of our over unders.
- 15:19Speaker 4: The first quarter. Oh really, I didn't know. Okay, I'm
- 15:22Speaker 4: helping you out there, you go, guy.
- 15:24Speaker 3: Guy, I already had it done. It's printed out.
- 15:25Speaker 4: Right, Okay, Yeah, Patriots. At least that you know, seven
- 15:28Speaker 4: in the first they do have twenty two in the
- 15:30Speaker 4: second quarter. Otherwise it's similar ten and thirteen. So otherwise, yeah,
- 15:37Speaker 4: they just explode in the second quarter though twenty two.
- 15:39Speaker 3: This we'll see what happens. I mean, everyone's expecting, you know,
- 15:45Speaker 3: a slog offensive. It just turned out to be like
- 15:49Speaker 3: I was just gonna say, everyone's thinking that, and it'll
- 15:52Speaker 3: be like thirty three thirty you know, thirty five thirty three.
- 15:55Speaker 4: The only way it will be like that is if
- 15:56Speaker 4: the teams turn the ball over multiple times each Yeah,
- 15:59Speaker 4: there's no way they're going seventy five eighty yards consistently
- 16:03Speaker 4: these two teams.
- 16:04Speaker 3: All right, Like I said, we've got picks later, We've
- 16:07Speaker 3: got people coming later. So now's a good time to
- 16:10Speaker 3: hear from our listeners. Emails at podcasts at Patriots dot com.
- 16:17Speaker 3: What do we again? And the tpx houtline is eight
- 16:20Speaker 3: five to five past five hundred, So let's get to
- 16:22Speaker 3: the tpx hutline. We'll hit that first. Christians in La,
- 16:26Speaker 3: what's up, Christian?
- 16:28Speaker 8: Hey you guys, how you guys are doing today? Shout
- 16:30Speaker 8: out to the queens.
- 16:31Speaker 10: Hey guys.
- 16:32Speaker 8: I wanted to give you guys credit.
- 16:35Speaker 11: Because for the last like five years or so, you guys.
- 16:37Speaker 8: Have done an amazing job of fielding these questions week
- 16:41Speaker 8: after week, day after day with people wanting answers, and
- 16:45Speaker 8: sometimes they want answers like from you guys directly, right, Sure,
- 16:50Speaker 8: but I wanted to say that I get it, And
- 16:52Speaker 8: so for me, I've adjusted what I'm looking for this season.
- 16:56Speaker 8: I'm no longer looking for just a total number of wins.
- 17:00Speaker 8: And what I'm looking for in essence is does the
- 17:03Speaker 8: Van Pelt system work? Like if we have better talent
- 17:06Speaker 8: or you know, better the better class of talent does
- 17:09Speaker 8: in essence his system work. That's one thing I'm looking
- 17:12Speaker 8: for what I've adjusted to. And then secondly, I'm starting
- 17:16Speaker 8: to try and emotionally separate the end of the last
- 17:20Speaker 8: regime and the losses we took there with the beginning
- 17:23Speaker 8: of this one, because it feels like it should be
- 17:26Speaker 8: like the end of a seven year or six year rebuilt.
- 17:28Speaker 8: But it's not right because Bill never really did a rebuild.
- 17:32Speaker 8: He tried to do sort of a continuation, which why
- 17:34Speaker 8: he took mac Jones over justin Field, and that was
- 17:37Speaker 8: the decline of that one. So do you guys separate
- 17:40Speaker 8: like the decline of the last machine with Hey relaxed,
- 17:43Speaker 8: this is the first year coach, first year general manager.
- 17:46Speaker 8: We got a rookie quarterback. How do you separate you
- 17:49Speaker 8: know that the two regimes in the fans heads of like,
- 17:53Speaker 8: oh my god, it's been like so many losses.
- 17:56Speaker 3: Yeah, no, it's a good question, Christian, you know, like
- 18:00Speaker 3: should you consider this part of what has happened over
- 18:04Speaker 3: the last four years. It's hard not to, you know,
- 18:07Speaker 3: because Girod's still here. He was there. Then you resigned
- 18:10Speaker 3: a whole bunch of players who were there. Then you
- 18:13Speaker 3: didn't gut the place. You actually re signed a lot
- 18:16Speaker 3: of players that were here. So it's hard to say
- 18:19Speaker 3: that this is a total rebuild at this point.
- 18:21Speaker 4: Right, Like Bill actually did a total rebuild in twenty
- 18:24Speaker 4: twenty when then he signed all those guys in twenty one,
- 18:27Speaker 4: Right now, it didn't work, right, But this is I
- 18:30Speaker 4: think you're right. I think this is more of a continuation.
- 18:33Speaker 5: Now.
- 18:33Speaker 4: The big thing that Christian mentions is the quarterback, right,
- 18:36Speaker 4: we won't know that, and that's you until Drake made
- 18:39Speaker 4: a place.
- 18:39Speaker 3: So that new rebuild was supposed to start with mac Jones,
- 18:43Speaker 3: and it was a failure, correct, you know. But I
- 18:46Speaker 3: was listening to Lombardi a few days ago, and he was,
- 18:49Speaker 3: of course defending Bill and hitting, you know, you know,
- 18:53Speaker 3: ragging on the Patriots about oh yeah, they don't like
- 18:56Speaker 3: anything Bill did, but they resigned all his guys, you know, well, yeah,
- 19:00Speaker 3: well they weren't good then either, and now they're not
- 19:03Speaker 3: good with those guys. But I think in Elliott Wolf's case,
- 19:08Speaker 3: you had to sign somebody, you had to pay something.
- 19:11Speaker 4: I think that's what they did, and that's why it's not.
- 19:13Speaker 3: Like these guys are going to be part of the
- 19:15Speaker 3: future that they signed.
- 19:16Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean some of them might be, but yeah,
- 19:18Speaker 4: I think you're you're nailing it, like I.
- 19:22Speaker 12: Don't.
- 19:23Speaker 4: I've been somewhat critical of just so I keep saying,
- 19:25Speaker 4: like bringing the band back right, and I've taken some
- 19:28Speaker 4: shots that even though I disagree with it, I understand it.
- 19:32Speaker 4: I understand what Gerrod and Elliott Wolf we're thinking in
- 19:35Speaker 4: terms of we're a new regime. Let's retain some players
- 19:40Speaker 4: that know us and understand what we're about and will
- 19:44Speaker 4: be culture builders for lack of a better term.
- 19:47Speaker 3: And I mean, otherwise, like you're that's why.
- 19:49Speaker 4: He retained so many guys.
- 19:51Speaker 3: Otherwise you know, you're going into a season with a
- 19:53Speaker 3: bunch of disgruntled guys. It's not like you can just
- 19:55Speaker 3: cut them and replace them with equal or better talent.
- 19:58Speaker 3: That's that's unre.
- 20:00Speaker 4: And in order to get the guys, like if you
- 20:03Speaker 4: were going to go and replace all of it. And
- 20:05Speaker 4: by the way, I never advocated replacing all of those guys.
- 20:08Speaker 4: I just was a little surprised that they retained as
- 20:11Speaker 4: many as they did. But if you were going to
- 20:14Speaker 4: replace all those guys with someone some unrestricted free agency,
- 20:17Speaker 4: you would have had to pay more for them, likely,
- 20:20Speaker 4: you know so, And I again, I understand what they
- 20:22Speaker 4: were doing. But to your point, how many of these
- 20:26Speaker 4: guys will still be part of the future, I mean,
- 20:29Speaker 4: some of them will. I mean, I think, you know,
- 20:31Speaker 4: like if Barber is you know, okay with the blood
- 20:35Speaker 4: clots in his career isn't ruined, that's one. You know,
- 20:38Speaker 4: douggers should be around for a little while, you know,
- 20:41Speaker 4: and Peppers, those guys are young enough to be part
- 20:43Speaker 4: of the defense moving forward. And you know guys that
- 20:48Speaker 4: probably won't be Guys like Hunter Henry Gotcha Gotchaw, he
- 20:51Speaker 4: probably won't be, you know, and some of the guys.
- 20:55Speaker 4: You know, David Andrews is a guy they extended obviously.
- 20:58Speaker 4: He he's dealing with phys problems even now. So not
- 21:02Speaker 4: everybody they re signed will be part of the future,
- 21:04Speaker 4: but some of them will be. Some of them will be.
- 21:06Speaker 3: They had to field a team, they had to pay people,
- 21:08Speaker 3: and it made sense, like you said, let's just keep
- 21:11Speaker 3: these guys that know what we're doing. They know us,
- 21:13Speaker 3: we know them, and you know, because you got to
- 21:17Speaker 3: keep playing the games. You can't just like, you know,
- 21:19Speaker 3: take the season off until you find all the right
- 21:21Speaker 3: players you got to you know, you gotta keep playing.
- 21:23Speaker 3: So but I get what you know, the over I
- 21:26Speaker 3: get what Christian's saying, like how much do you kind
- 21:29Speaker 3: of give them a break and say, Okay, we're starting
- 21:31Speaker 3: over this year?
- 21:32Speaker 4: Yeah, And I do give them that because it is
- 21:34Speaker 4: for them it's year one. Yeah, it's not to me
- 21:37Speaker 4: year one of the rebuilds, but for for Girodmeo and
- 21:40Speaker 4: Elliott Wolf it is year one.
- 21:41Speaker 3: That's fact right, doing it the way they want to
- 21:44Speaker 3: do it right. Right, Let's go to the tpx houtline.
- 21:49Speaker 3: We'll go to another Christian in Virginia. What's up, Christian?
- 21:53Speaker 7: Hey, guys, how's it going good?
- 21:57Speaker 10: I just wanted to call in talking about uh, Drake
- 22:00Speaker 10: May yesterday, And I know confidence is a big thing
- 22:04Speaker 10: that we've been talking about, and it was nice to
- 22:07Speaker 10: hear Mike saying how he was interacting with people in
- 22:10Speaker 10: the locker room, you know, just because of all the
- 22:14Speaker 10: mac Jones stuff. I feel like people have been expecting
- 22:18Speaker 10: Drake May to have horrible confidence, and I feel like
- 22:22Speaker 10: they're interpreting a lot of his like being on the sideline,
- 22:26Speaker 10: like what are you expecting from him? He's not playing,
- 22:30Speaker 10: the team's not playing well. I mean, he's not gonna
- 22:34Speaker 10: be all happy and smiles sitting there. He's paying attention
- 22:39Speaker 10: and there's not really much for him to be super
- 22:42Speaker 10: super happy about there.
- 22:45Speaker 13: I don't know.
- 22:46Speaker 10: I just think that's really overblown.
- 22:48Speaker 3: Yeah, well we talked about that yesterday. We haven't seen
- 22:52Speaker 3: like that from Drake May. And by the way, he's
- 22:56Speaker 3: got an earpiece in so even when he's like not
- 22:58Speaker 3: standing right next to a VP or whatever, he's hearing
- 23:01Speaker 3: everything that's being said.
- 23:03Speaker 4: And I will just say that I've heard a lot
- 23:05Speaker 4: of people wondering why he's not always right with Van
- 23:09Speaker 4: Pelt and Brissette when Brissette's off the field. I haven't
- 23:12Speaker 4: heard a lot of he doesn't look happy. I heard
- 23:15Speaker 4: that from one person yesterday. Yeah, so like the whole
- 23:17Speaker 4: you know, just like the overblown I agree with Christian.
- 23:20Speaker 4: It's not something that stood out to me in the
- 23:23Speaker 4: locker room. It's completely the opposite. He's always that the
- 23:27Speaker 4: kid just doesn't have any bad days. He always looks happy.
- 23:31Speaker 4: But I haven't necessarily seen it on the sideline. We're
- 23:35Speaker 4: pretty far up in the press box, so you can't
- 23:37Speaker 4: really see a guy's face from where we sit. But
- 23:41Speaker 4: I haven't heard a lot of that. I have heard
- 23:43Speaker 4: a lot of people wondering why he's not more involved
- 23:45Speaker 4: with the conversations on the sideline. But Fred's point is
- 23:49Speaker 4: he's listening and listen, listening and learning.
- 23:51Speaker 3: With the way these games go. Can you imagine the
- 23:55Speaker 3: criticism if he was yucking it up on the sideline
- 23:58Speaker 3: and laughing and all that, or you know, not just him,
- 24:01Speaker 3: but you will be perceived like doesn't care.
- 24:04Speaker 4: Well, no, like that's why I should be playing like
- 24:07Speaker 4: this guy. Oh I can't that too. That's how I
- 24:10Speaker 4: know Mike, Mike and Tony would be doing that.
- 24:14Speaker 3: Every one of these players should look kind of pissed
- 24:16Speaker 3: on the sideline because things aren't doing well as a team.
- 24:19Speaker 3: Thanks Christian, appreciate the call. Mike and Puerto Rico. You're
- 24:22Speaker 3: up next, big y'all.
- 24:25Speaker 1: How you doing today?
- 24:26Speaker 4: Good Mike. We got a lot of legs out of
- 24:28Speaker 4: you yesterday. I know it was great.
- 24:32Speaker 1: After listening well yes and no, after listening to y'all
- 24:36Speaker 1: yesterday and actually some of the feedback from the callers
- 24:39Speaker 1: and the emailers, I was actually a little frustrated on
- 24:43Speaker 1: how I came across as entitled, which is something that
- 24:48Speaker 1: I am definitely not about that That's not me as
- 24:52Speaker 1: a person or as a fan. I should have found
- 24:57Speaker 1: words and a better tone to convey my first stration
- 25:00Speaker 1: with the decisions from Mayo and Wolf and how it
- 25:04Speaker 1: comes from a pace of love and passion for the
- 25:07Speaker 1: team and what a Patriots fan stands.
- 25:10Speaker 5: Mike.
- 25:10Speaker 3: I think people understand that you're not listening to this
- 25:14Speaker 3: show if you don't love the Patriots.
- 25:16Speaker 4: Yeah, I think And I think people know you too, Mike.
- 25:18Speaker 4: I think they know that you're you're you're died in
- 25:21Speaker 4: the role and you just want better for your team.
- 25:23Speaker 4: I don't I wouldn't worry too much about it. I
- 25:26Speaker 4: don't think that there are too many people that thought
- 25:28Speaker 4: you you know didn't care.
- 25:32Speaker 13: No, and I.
- 25:33Speaker 1: Appreciate that, Paul. I really do like it. It's you know,
- 25:35Speaker 1: coming from you guys. It really means a lot to me.
- 25:38Speaker 1: I've always said, you guys are a big reason why
- 25:42Speaker 1: I follow the team. Actually, you're a big reason why
- 25:44Speaker 1: I fell in love with the team, and you know
- 25:47Speaker 1: up for the passion that I have on the team.
- 25:50Speaker 1: So moving on, and I just have a question. I'm
- 25:54Speaker 1: not listening live, I can't really see on YouTube. I
- 25:57Speaker 1: don't know who's there, but I was wondering, how would
- 26:02Speaker 1: you if you feel that if you put an offense
- 26:05Speaker 1: out there with May and then just send three people,
- 26:10Speaker 1: three receivers, out receivers, tight ends, running backs, whatever, out
- 26:15Speaker 1: on routes and then just try to quote unquote maximize
- 26:18Speaker 1: or steam around, just making sure that May has enough time.
- 26:22Speaker 1: Do you think we can win and make significant progress
- 26:26Speaker 1: in our offense towards you know, building a bigger and
- 26:31Speaker 1: better offense and hopefully start easing up on the protection.
- 26:35Speaker 3: Well listen that way, Yeah, I mean, and thanks for
- 26:39Speaker 3: the call. You know, these guys have to get open.
- 26:42Speaker 4: Yeah, if you're consistently if you're consistently protecting with seven
- 26:47Speaker 4: players and only sending three out.
- 26:48Speaker 3: No, yeah, they're gonna you can count now, they're gonna
- 26:51Speaker 3: they're gonna say, Okay, let's not bother going at the quarterback.
- 26:54Speaker 3: Let's just flood zones. Let's just double cover guys. And
- 26:57Speaker 3: I don't think right now, at least we've got that
- 27:00Speaker 3: one guy who can get open no matter what, or
- 27:03Speaker 3: draw attention so that the other guys aren't getting.
- 27:07Speaker 4: Now, that's stuff that you can do to certainly help
- 27:09Speaker 4: the quarterback and max protect and yeah, you know occasionally,
- 27:13Speaker 4: but you don't want to be an offense that's doing
- 27:15Speaker 4: that on a consistent basis.
- 27:17Speaker 3: No, I mean cut down the talent. You know, in
- 27:20Speaker 3: the current state of the team, it's not talented enough
- 27:24Speaker 3: to win consistently. That's going to take time. That's going
- 27:27Speaker 3: to take time. Let's go to Dan and Rhode Island.
- 27:32Speaker 4: What's up, Dan, Hey, how's it going all right?
- 27:36Speaker 14: Thanks for having me.
- 27:38Speaker 15: Just a couple of things definitely want to say. First
- 27:41Speaker 15: and foremost, one thing about Jirod that he mentioned during
- 27:45Speaker 15: his press conference from either yesterday or the day before.
- 27:48Speaker 15: I know, he talked about the sustainability of the offense,
- 27:51Speaker 15: and he openly admitted that the scheme was not sustainable
- 27:55Speaker 15: for winning games, even though obviously they went into the
- 27:58Speaker 15: season with the intention, of course of winning games and
- 28:01Speaker 15: going through with this scheme. So I think that's a
- 28:03Speaker 15: little bit hypocritical to kind of backstep from that.
- 28:06Speaker 4: And so can you hold on one second, Dan, because
- 28:09Speaker 4: I think there's there's a little bit more to it
- 28:12Speaker 4: than what you're saying. I don't think he I don't
- 28:15Speaker 4: think Gerard was saying the game plan that we went
- 28:18Speaker 4: into the Cincinnati game with and one with is not sustainable.
- 28:22Speaker 4: He's saying we need to be more productive on offense
- 28:26Speaker 4: to win more than one game.
- 28:28Speaker 6: Like.
- 28:29Speaker 4: I don't think he's saying if we just want to
- 28:31Speaker 4: run the ball and that's that's our game plan, I
- 28:34Speaker 4: don't think he thinks that's not sustainable. But you got
- 28:38Speaker 4: to score more points, right Like they ran the ball
- 28:40Speaker 4: but didn't score a lot of points that day, And
- 28:43Speaker 4: I think that's what he's talking about. I don't necessarily
- 28:45Speaker 4: think he thinks the scheme is wrong. The production is
- 28:49Speaker 4: not obviously, I just I read you. The number is
- 28:51Speaker 4: fifty two points in four games. The production is just
- 28:54Speaker 4: not there.
- 28:56Speaker 15: Yeah, absolutely, I agree with you. I think his direct
- 28:59Speaker 15: quote was specifically that it was not sustainable and.
- 29:02Speaker 4: It wasn't sustainable because but he was asked why it
- 29:06Speaker 4: wasn't sustainable, and he said, you have to score at
- 29:07Speaker 4: least twenty one points in this league to be to
- 29:10Speaker 4: be competitive.
- 29:11Speaker 3: And don't forget what Gerrod Mao said. I don't know
- 29:14Speaker 3: if it was the next week or the week after
- 29:16Speaker 3: when he's talking about how things will change each game.
- 29:19Speaker 3: You know, he said there might be some games where
- 29:21Speaker 3: we throw it all over the place. So he's talking
- 29:24Speaker 3: about producing and you know, in that Cincinnati game, that
- 29:28Speaker 3: was the plan to beat Cincinnati. But whatever the plan is,
- 29:33Speaker 3: you got to produce. You got to produce points.
- 29:35Speaker 4: Right and they didn't. Yeah, and that was his point.
- 29:38Speaker 4: They didn't score enough.
- 29:39Speaker 15: Yeah, Yeah, absolutely definitely some good points.
- 29:44Speaker 16: Thanks guys.
- 29:45Speaker 3: Okay, thanks, Thanks Dan. Another Dan. We're getting like doubled up.
- 29:50Speaker 4: Here, double Christians.
- 29:52Speaker 3: Yeah, Dan and Minnesota. What's up? Dan?
- 29:55Speaker 16: Hi, guys, Hey, thanks for having me on. I got
- 30:00Speaker 16: just one David and question task. First of all, I've
- 30:07Speaker 16: been I guess maybe the earliest Patriots games I remember
- 30:10Speaker 16: watching for the early eighties, so I've seen a lot
- 30:12Speaker 16: of bad teams and I remember saying when the Patriots
- 30:15Speaker 16: beats Gattle in the Super Bowl the way they did,
- 30:18Speaker 16: I'm never going to complain again.
- 30:20Speaker 7: Man.
- 30:20Speaker 16: The rest from here is gravy, and so I try
- 30:23Speaker 16: not to play too much.
- 30:24Speaker 3: I still but I still want to be entertained before
- 30:27Speaker 3: by the way winning go ahead.
- 30:33Speaker 16: The question I have for you is do you think
- 30:37Speaker 16: that losing David Andrews for the season has changed Mayo
- 30:43Speaker 16: and a VP's plan as to when to start Drake May.
- 30:47Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a question A lot of people are asking, like,
- 30:50Speaker 3: if the offensive line was bad before and you were
- 30:53Speaker 3: concerned for Drake May, what are you feeling now, Let's
- 30:58Speaker 3: see what Leverett does. I mean, he he was okay,
- 31:01Speaker 3: like he didn't fall all over himself in the last game.
- 31:05Speaker 3: If he can just play competently at the center position,
- 31:08Speaker 3: I don't think to me, I don't think that changes.
- 31:12Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, and I don't know, but I I don't
- 31:16Speaker 4: think that should have anything to do with it, and
- 31:19Speaker 4: I don't think it does. I think for girod May
- 31:21Speaker 4: and when Alex van Pelt, it's about Drake May. And
- 31:24Speaker 4: when they feel Drake May is ready, I think that's
- 31:26Speaker 4: the plan is to play him when they think he's ready.
- 31:29Speaker 4: I'm hoping. I'm hoping that that's the case, that it's
- 31:33Speaker 4: about Drake May and not about what's around him, because
- 31:35Speaker 4: if it's about what's around him, you're not going to
- 31:37Speaker 4: see him this year at all. Yeah, because they're not
- 31:39Speaker 4: ever going to feel good about the offensive line this season, right.
- 31:43Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 31:43Speaker 16: The one thing I wonder about is maybe earlier they thought, well,
- 31:47Speaker 16: he'll be ready as long as David Andrews is there
- 31:51Speaker 16: to make the line calls, but now that he's not
- 31:53Speaker 16: in there.
- 31:54Speaker 4: No, it's definitely a good it's a good point, Dan.
- 31:58Speaker 4: It's to be honest as much, which is I want
- 32:00Speaker 4: to play May. I wrote my notebook this week that
- 32:04Speaker 4: maybe this isn't the week to do it, you know,
- 32:07Speaker 4: the first week that you got another starter at center.
- 32:10Speaker 4: So I think you're right to be thinking that way.
- 32:13Speaker 4: But I just hope that it's not one of those
- 32:16Speaker 4: things that's a deal breaker and they say, well, we're
- 32:18Speaker 4: just going to put them on ice and wait for
- 32:19Speaker 4: the whole year.
- 32:20Speaker 3: Yeah, I know.
- 32:23Speaker 16: I think he's going to be way more entertaining watch.
- 32:26Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, thanks for the call, Dan, I mean,
- 32:29Speaker 3: I know an a VP system the center makes the
- 32:32Speaker 3: line calls. Yeah, I like it better when your quarterback
- 32:35Speaker 3: is doing that, he's he's standing up, he can you know,
- 32:38Speaker 3: your center is like down looking at people's knees, and
- 32:43Speaker 3: like the quarterback is up upright looking you can survey
- 32:47Speaker 3: the field. That makes more sense to me for any
- 32:50Speaker 3: kind of call audible whatever's happening pre snap to have
- 32:53Speaker 3: it come from the quarterback.
- 32:54Speaker 7: Now.
- 32:55Speaker 4: Alex was asked about that today and Van Pelton DeMarcus
- 33:00Speaker 4: Covington both spoke today in press conferences and he said, yeah,
- 33:03Speaker 4: it's going to be more like Brissette's going to have
- 33:06Speaker 4: to do more of it, because you know, it's obviously
- 33:09Speaker 4: a change, but he says, you know, Levert's been trained
- 33:11Speaker 4: for this and you know during the course of the
- 33:14Speaker 4: training camp and whatnot. So that's that's the way they
- 33:17Speaker 4: do it. I don't know enough about it to know,
- 33:19Speaker 4: like what's the better way to do it. I think
- 33:22Speaker 4: if you have Tom Brady at the more that's that
- 33:25Speaker 4: Tom Brady's involved with the thought process, the better. But
- 33:28Speaker 4: my guess is that not every quarterback has that ability.
- 33:31Speaker 4: And the idea is to take a little off the
- 33:34Speaker 4: quarterback's plate yep, you know, and put it put it
- 33:36Speaker 4: somewhere else.
- 33:38Speaker 3: Kendall's in North Carolina. I hate Kendall.
- 33:41Speaker 2: Hey, what's going on?
- 33:42Speaker 17: Guys?
- 33:42Speaker 3: Hey?
- 33:45Speaker 17: Do you I mean, how does the whole offensive end up?
- 33:49Speaker 4: Like?
- 33:49Speaker 3: Do not have the brisk Look, I can't hear you, Kendall.
- 33:54Speaker 3: I'm sorry, it's a little muffled.
- 33:57Speaker 4: Yeah, I can hear you. I just couldn't understand what
- 33:59Speaker 4: you said.
- 34:01Speaker 11: Yeah, how does the whole offensive line end up?
- 34:03Speaker 1: Going to any report?
- 34:04Speaker 11: Do we might have the hope? Do we might have
- 34:06Speaker 11: the worst luck in the league?
- 34:08Speaker 4: The worst luck. I think a lot of teams are
- 34:10Speaker 4: dealing with with mass injuries on the offensive line. I
- 34:14Speaker 4: think Cleveland's had the whole line out all like all
- 34:17Speaker 4: four games. Yeah, I just think there's there's a lot
- 34:20Speaker 4: of injuries.
- 34:21Speaker 3: And thanks for the call.
- 34:22Speaker 4: You look around the league and you see that the
- 34:24Speaker 4: key players that are going down. You know that the
- 34:27Speaker 4: Lions just lost their their standout center, Frank Ragnow for
- 34:30Speaker 4: the season. He was out two weeks ago. Just there's
- 34:34Speaker 4: a lot of attrition, and I know that it seems
- 34:37Speaker 4: like we talk about it every year in September. It
- 34:39Speaker 4: seems like a lot of big injuries this year, and
- 34:41Speaker 4: they do and they do like it does seem that way,
- 34:44Speaker 4: but it happens every year.
- 34:45Speaker 3: It happens every year, and sometimes it happens to certain units.
- 34:49Speaker 3: You know, some teams get lucky and the injuries get
- 34:52Speaker 3: spread out and you can kind of cover it up.
- 34:54Speaker 3: But when they happen in a condensed way to a
- 34:56Speaker 3: certain unit, it really amplifies it. And when you're still
- 35:00Speaker 3: arding the way the Pages did without legitimate tackles, that
- 35:03Speaker 3: makes it worse. And when you're behind and and you're overmatched,
- 35:08Speaker 3: whether it's physically, you tend to like overreach, you tend
- 35:12Speaker 3: to like you could hurt yourself, and maybe that's some
- 35:16Speaker 3: of it too, So it's it's just a perfect storm
- 35:18Speaker 3: of badness.
- 35:21Speaker 4: Speaking.
- 35:22Speaker 18: But yeah, he goes into the locker room and because
- 35:34Speaker 18: this all is jingleness is.
- 35:39Speaker 19: Mike is back to it and there too, and Alex, Yeah,
- 35:43Speaker 19: well today I felt like we were just sitting around
- 35:45Speaker 19: waiting for Kendrick Bourne the whole time. I think yesterday
- 35:48Speaker 19: was Nick Leverett where everyone goes right in right to
- 35:50Speaker 19: the locker, sets up camp camp out, and then we're
- 35:53Speaker 19: just sitting there till like ten minutes left in the thing,
- 35:55Speaker 19: and then Kendrick finally came out and uh, obviously he's
- 35:57Speaker 19: excited to be back, and you know, I had a
- 35:59Speaker 19: lot of learning experience there from his injury.
- 36:01Speaker 3: But no chance he plays this week, right.
- 36:03Speaker 4: I think there's a chance.
- 36:05Speaker 19: I would lean no, just because he's he did mention
- 36:08Speaker 19: he's like, I'm still a little limited, so yeah, just
- 36:10Speaker 19: on the injury report.
- 36:11Speaker 6: Yeah, but he said that.
- 36:13Speaker 19: You know, being on the pup list, he was basically
- 36:16Speaker 19: recovered this summer, but he hadn't really been able to
- 36:18Speaker 19: start training and doing football things. So by being on
- 36:21Speaker 19: pup here for the first four weeks of the season,
- 36:24Speaker 19: he's been able to, you know, kind of get a
- 36:25Speaker 19: little bit more up the speed of football.
- 36:27Speaker 5: But I would you got you got the vibe?
- 36:29Speaker 4: No, I got the vibe.
- 36:31Speaker 6: Not yet I got but holing Born not going but
- 36:37Speaker 6: we'll see.
- 36:38Speaker 19: But otherwise, you know, kind of quiet, a lot of
- 36:40Speaker 19: other small conversations going around, but kind of quiet in
- 36:43Speaker 19: the locker room. I mean, I'm not saying that in
- 36:45Speaker 19: like a bad way of like, oh they're not ready
- 36:47Speaker 19: for the game. That just you know, some some days
- 36:49Speaker 19: there's a bunch of different people have scrums and there's.
- 36:52Speaker 5: A lot going on.
- 36:53Speaker 19: In other days it's you know, one guy has a
- 36:55Speaker 19: scrum and then there's a lot of other small.
- 36:57Speaker 5: Side conversations going on.
- 36:58Speaker 19: I was hoping to talk to Mapho and Taki Taki
- 37:01Speaker 19: because you know, Stacy said they were okay to chat
- 37:03Speaker 19: with now that they've returned to practice.
- 37:05Speaker 6: So but those guys did.
- 37:06Speaker 3: Not talk, so they were not talking or not there.
- 37:09Speaker 19: I saw Mampoo briefly and he turned down in a
- 37:12Speaker 19: review re quest, and then Taki Taki was in there
- 37:14Speaker 19: also briefly, but like at the end just kind of
- 37:16Speaker 19: you know, passed through.
- 37:16Speaker 9: Iathing like a walk through situation talk into the equipment room.
- 37:21Speaker 19: It's not quite the Dante High Tower or High Tower
- 37:22Speaker 19: with poking that door down that other in the locker
- 37:25Speaker 19: room and he'd have the countdown, he'd open the door.
- 37:29Speaker 20: And well that's the thing I was thinking yesterday with
- 37:33Speaker 20: Nick Leverett, the people kind of like, I don't know,
- 37:37Speaker 20: camping out at his locker for it was literally the
- 37:39Speaker 20: whole time, and I'm like, he.
- 37:40Speaker 9: Probably just keeps peeking out and.
- 37:41Speaker 4: Seeing this and going out there.
- 37:43Speaker 9: Personally, I would.
- 37:44Speaker 3: Having somebody report to him. Is the coast clear?
- 37:47Speaker 17: Yeah?
- 37:47Speaker 1: Right?
- 37:47Speaker 20: Yet, well, you know the guys are going in there
- 37:49Speaker 20: like yo, Leverett, they're waiting for you.
- 37:52Speaker 21: You know.
- 37:53Speaker 9: They make those comments all the time.
- 37:54Speaker 4: The me is not really that bad.
- 37:58Speaker 3: I think if I had, if I was a player,
- 38:00Speaker 3: I'd have like a little candy dish at my lock's idea,
- 38:03Speaker 3: when I'm not there, people can come by and take candy.
- 38:06Speaker 9: Good idea.
- 38:06Speaker 19: Nobody better touch anything in your locker otherwise you might
- 38:08Speaker 19: get tackled.
- 38:09Speaker 5: And you should hog tide, you should.
- 38:12Speaker 3: I also love that.
- 38:13Speaker 19: I mean almost felt like they're doing it on purpose.
- 38:14Speaker 19: It's like on one of those middle tables in the
- 38:17Speaker 19: middle of the locker room, there's just a like a
- 38:19Speaker 19: like a playbook, like it looks almost like an old
- 38:21Speaker 19: school playbook and it just says like Patriots offense on it,
- 38:23Speaker 19: and it's just been sitting there for like, I don't.
- 38:29Speaker 4: I should not be waiting for the dolphin to come in.
- 38:33Speaker 6: And totally it's just been sitting there the whole time.
- 38:35Speaker 6: So yeah, but that's good. I like that a little something.
- 38:39Speaker 3: Some teams, the coach would they get. You know, this
- 38:42Speaker 3: is back when they had physical playbooks and it wasn't
- 38:45Speaker 3: like on an iPad. They would put like one hundred
- 38:47Speaker 3: dollars in the last page or something like that.
- 38:49Speaker 4: Like a draft and say you do that to a draft,
- 38:52Speaker 4: like a like a guy that you just drafted, you.
- 38:55Speaker 3: Give this back when you're finished, or something like that.
- 38:57Speaker 3: So they know that they actually went through the playbook.
- 38:59Speaker 19: Did they get to keep the hundred dollars or then
- 39:01Speaker 19: is it about like did you return one hundred dollars?
- 39:03Speaker 6: Did you keep the one hundred dollars?
- 39:04Speaker 3: But it would be any some form of tests to
- 39:06Speaker 3: make sure that they actually actually read it, opened it
- 39:08Speaker 3: up and read it.
- 39:09Speaker 4: So I'm probably going to screw this up like I
- 39:11Speaker 4: always do, like with the details. But I think there's
- 39:13Speaker 4: a famous JaMarcus Russell h story for with the Raiders,
- 39:18Speaker 4: Like they had a bunch of plays that they downloaded
- 39:20Speaker 4: into his device, and you know, they they said, so
- 39:24Speaker 4: you know, like go home. This is like whatever they're doing,
- 39:28Speaker 4: you know for that week. You know, so what you know,
- 39:30Speaker 4: what you think? You know, what are your thoughts? And
- 39:32Speaker 4: he like came up with like all these kinds of
- 39:35Speaker 4: different things. Wow, they like to do this. They like
- 39:37Speaker 4: to They didn't put any plays in.
- 39:38Speaker 3: Ah, they didn't.
- 39:41Speaker 4: Put any plays and so they knew that he never
- 39:42Speaker 4: even logged.
- 39:43Speaker 20: On sounds like the joke they played on Gronk last weekend.
- 39:46Speaker 20: Did you guys see that?
- 39:46Speaker 14: No?
- 39:47Speaker 9: Oh my god.
- 39:48Speaker 20: So they made up a player, a Pro Bowl tight end,
- 39:53Speaker 20: and they just started talking about him, how this team's
- 39:55Speaker 20: going to get him back from the iruh, this all
- 39:58Speaker 20: pro caliber tight end and they're starting talk about him,
- 40:00Speaker 20: and you can just see in his face that Gronk
- 40:02Speaker 20: has no idea who this player is. And then someone
- 40:04Speaker 20: from the broadcast is like, yeah, but how do you
- 40:06Speaker 20: think like having only two fingers is gonna affect like
- 40:10Speaker 20: you guys.
- 40:10Speaker 9: Have I can't believe you didn't see you guys have
- 40:12Speaker 9: to go back and watch.
- 40:13Speaker 20: It's God, it was his face just like you can
- 40:17Speaker 20: tell the moment that it hits him, that he has
- 40:19Speaker 20: no clue what anyone's talking about, and he's just going
- 40:22Speaker 20: with it.
- 40:22Speaker 4: You guys are gonna laugh on the fly, especially like
- 40:25Speaker 4: the listeners will laugh because I never talked like this.
- 40:27Speaker 4: I like Gronk so much that I can't watch him
- 40:30Speaker 4: on TV.
- 40:31Speaker 6: It makes me sadly he's not I.
- 40:38Speaker 9: Don't know if he's. It's just his vocabulary as not.
- 40:40Speaker 4: He's really that cabulary, and I like him so much
- 40:44Speaker 4: I won't do it I'm only I'm only gonna think
- 40:48Speaker 4: of Gronk in that way like that. Dmins, Well, that
- 40:54Speaker 4: was how I thought.
- 40:55Speaker 5: When he stick to what you know, it's gonna be
- 40:57Speaker 5: so sad.
- 40:58Speaker 19: Like I thought in my mind that eventually Gronk would
- 41:01Speaker 19: be like veterans, boring, serious Gronk, But he never became that.
- 41:05Speaker 19: You know, He's always just been the kind of wide
- 41:07Speaker 19: eyed I just.
- 41:08Speaker 4: Like mispronounce his names all the time and like doesn't
- 41:11Speaker 4: really have anything, just sundling like the other thing that
- 41:14Speaker 4: could happen to anybody, Like you could do that to anybody,
- 41:18Speaker 4: but you could do that to anybody at the draft,
- 41:20Speaker 4: And that's when you find out that the real guys
- 41:23Speaker 4: from the frauds. Like I don't know how many times
- 41:26Speaker 4: we get phone calls asking about the three tackles and
- 41:29Speaker 4: they rattle off the names and I'll just say, I
- 41:31Speaker 4: don't know who that is, because I'm not going to
- 41:34Speaker 4: fall into one of those. I don't know most of
- 41:36Speaker 4: the names in the draft like you guys do, especially
- 41:38Speaker 4: right now. No, I'm talking about like when we're doing it,
- 41:41Speaker 4: like if it's not one of the like if it's
- 41:44Speaker 4: not one of the to know the guys that you're
- 41:47Speaker 4: going to be, you know, have a chance to take
- 41:49Speaker 4: right like not some obscure guy from Slippery.
- 41:51Speaker 5: Rocketing like Will Campbell, Calvin Banks.
- 41:54Speaker 6: What more do you need to know?
- 41:55Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 41:56Speaker 6: All right, I don't need to know.
- 41:58Speaker 4: I don't know. I need to know the seventeenth on
- 42:00Speaker 4: the board. I leave that to Boston and Evan.
- 42:04Speaker 3: All Right, we're rifling through calls and emails here and
- 42:06Speaker 3: anticipation of the picks. Anything else you want to bring
- 42:09Speaker 3: up before we get back to anticipation listeners?
- 42:13Speaker 5: No, I don't think so.
- 42:15Speaker 3: Okay, all right, let's get back to the TPX hotline.
- 42:18Speaker 3: We'll go to James in North Carolina. What's up, James, Jimmy,
- 42:25Speaker 3: you hear all right?
- 42:28Speaker 7: Good?
- 42:29Speaker 12: So yesterday Fred asked, not not in the question, but
- 42:35Speaker 12: he just he brought up you know, why why are
- 42:40Speaker 12: we payed?
- 42:42Speaker 3: I brought that up and answer.
- 42:50Speaker 13: Those of us.
- 42:50Speaker 12: That that were around before, Brady, we've seen all this before.
- 42:56Speaker 12: Do we do we want to start the kid yet?
- 43:00Speaker 12: But he's got to be put in a position to
- 43:03Speaker 12: succeed whatever that takes. And we don't have.
- 43:12Speaker 3: What's going on? Can we can we what's what's going
- 43:17Speaker 3: on over there?
- 43:18Speaker 4: James.
- 43:18Speaker 3: You seemed distracted.
- 43:20Speaker 4: Are you at work? Are you hiding from your boss?
- 43:22Speaker 3: Right? Are you like on a treadmill or what's going on?
- 43:25Speaker 5: He's under a desk.
- 43:27Speaker 4: I think it might be.
- 43:27Speaker 3: A self Okay, we're gonna, we're gonna, We're gonna move
- 43:29Speaker 3: on from James.
- 43:30Speaker 4: So I think his point was like he's been a
- 43:33Speaker 4: fan before the success, and he's gonna continue to be
- 43:36Speaker 4: a fan. Actor. I think you sort of misunderstood. I
- 43:39Speaker 4: don't think you were asking people what what why you're
- 43:42Speaker 4: paying I'm saying if you're I think Fred's point was,
- 43:45Speaker 4: if you're so upset, then maybe this isn't giving you
- 43:50Speaker 4: the happiness that it should be given you if you're
- 43:52Speaker 4: like that fan. By the way, Mike called in today,
- 43:54Speaker 4: Oh yeah, he's a little upset. That not upset, but
- 43:57Speaker 4: he was disappointed that some people sort of questioned his loyalty.
- 44:01Speaker 3: You know, Oh yeah, he's fine, right he's talking about
- 44:05Speaker 3: I think I think I did a good job for
- 44:07Speaker 3: a change.
- 44:08Speaker 4: It's a change I actually helped issue.
- 44:11Speaker 21: Yeah, I de escalated. No the way I'm tossing the grenade. Yeah,
- 44:18Speaker 21: Paul on the suicide hot you know what, just do it?
- 44:21Speaker 4: Do no't know. I like the guy who came in
- 44:23Speaker 4: to try to close out that Braves game last I
- 44:25Speaker 4: mean the Mets game last night. Just wreaking of Kerosene
- 44:28Speaker 4: giving up to run homers everywhere. Bye, that's me.
- 44:33Speaker 3: Uh, Mark's in Connecticut. What's up, Mark?
- 44:37Speaker 11: Everybody doing this afternoon?
- 44:39Speaker 3: Okay?
- 44:39Speaker 6: Mark, I'm doing fine.
- 44:41Speaker 17: So I don't know about everybody else, but I know
- 44:44Speaker 17: a lot of people that I thought to we kind
- 44:46Speaker 17: of all feel the same way, and we're tired of
- 44:49Speaker 17: watching Jacobie Era. You know, he just he can't make
- 44:54Speaker 17: the throws. I mean, he's literally just uh what do
- 44:58Speaker 17: you want to call it? Like a punching b out there.
- 45:01Speaker 17: And I feel like Drake May. If Drake May gets
- 45:03Speaker 17: in there, with his ability and his athleticism, and especially
- 45:07Speaker 17: with the tackle position the way that it is, you
- 45:09Speaker 17: can move the offensive line and you know, create different
- 45:13Speaker 17: kinds of plays and schemes for.
- 45:15Speaker 15: The kids to be successful.
- 45:16Speaker 17: I just wanted to get your guys's take on that.
- 45:18Speaker 3: Well, I think that's all of our hope. You know
- 45:21Speaker 3: that he'll be able to do things for set can't. Yeah,
- 45:24Speaker 3: and so you run the same play, it just looks different.
- 45:27Speaker 4: Yeah, I know that he could do things that per
- 45:29Speaker 4: set can't. I just don't know if he's ready to
- 45:30Speaker 4: do that yet, that's all.
- 45:32Speaker 19: Yeah, I just I think the place that you know,
- 45:34Speaker 19: move in the pocket off platform, Drake you know, has
- 45:37Speaker 19: the athleticism to get out. It's just is he going
- 45:40Speaker 19: to be able to run conventional offense and have a
- 45:42Speaker 19: drop back and step to you know, a little bit
- 45:45Speaker 19: to his left to where the pocket is. You know
- 45:47Speaker 19: that subtle pocket movement that we saw, you know, run
- 45:50Speaker 19: to elite level for twenty.
- 45:51Speaker 5: Years around here.
- 45:52Speaker 6: Those those are the plays that concern me.
- 45:54Speaker 19: It's you know, I have no question that he'll be
- 45:56Speaker 19: able to get out of some of the stuff when
- 45:58Speaker 19: it breaks down, but you know, from play to play,
- 46:00Speaker 19: when it doesn't break down and there's pockets a little
- 46:03Speaker 19: bit muddy and you know you have to buy a
- 46:05Speaker 19: little bit of time with a small shuffle step this
- 46:07Speaker 19: way and still get the ball out quick. Those are
- 46:09Speaker 19: some of the nuanced in the positions.
- 46:11Speaker 4: Plus regular running the plays. Does he throw the ball
- 46:14Speaker 4: to the right place often enough? That's you know, like
- 46:17Speaker 4: that's like I know physically he's better, I just you know,
- 46:20Speaker 4: I don't know mentally if he's ready.
- 46:22Speaker 19: I just I'm excited about his arm too. With some
- 46:23Speaker 19: of these screen pops, Like it's just some of these
- 46:26Speaker 19: plays that seem to take forever to develop, and it
- 46:29Speaker 19: just feels like he'll get it there a beat faster
- 46:30Speaker 19: and give some of these receivers and you know, backs
- 46:33Speaker 19: a chance to make a move a little bit more,
- 46:35Speaker 19: because it seems like right now it's just slow getting
- 46:38Speaker 19: over there and it's already completely snuffed out by the
- 46:40Speaker 19: time the guy.
- 46:41Speaker 4: Got I'm not yeah, I'm not necessarily thinking that that's
- 46:44Speaker 4: going to be different, But the rest of it, I
- 46:48Speaker 4: can't wait to see because I just want to see
- 46:50Speaker 4: it if it looks different with somebody else playing the
- 46:52Speaker 4: position or is it just like because the slow part
- 46:56Speaker 4: that you're talking about, Mike would percent it's not just
- 47:00Speaker 4: to me. He holds the ball for a long time.
- 47:02Speaker 4: He takes it a long time to get rid of it,
- 47:04Speaker 4: Like once he decides I'm gonna throw it, it takes
- 47:06Speaker 4: a while.
- 47:06Speaker 3: Yep.
- 47:07Speaker 4: And I'd like to see if it looks different with
- 47:09Speaker 4: another guy playing, for sure.
- 47:13Speaker 3: Lots of emails coming in at podcast, a lot of
- 47:15Speaker 3: calls today at Patriots dot Com, a lot of calls
- 47:19Speaker 3: a lot of emails people are excited. I think it's
- 47:21Speaker 3: because of the picks, but I'm not sure. Let's see
- 47:28Speaker 3: Barton Poland right sin. I think there has to be
- 47:31Speaker 3: a conversation about Mike McDaniel to play in the Miami
- 47:35Speaker 3: seems appropriate. We've seen teams lose their starting quarterbacks in
- 47:39Speaker 3: the recent pass and still continue being competitive. Packers with
- 47:43Speaker 3: Willis Browns with Flacco, Bengals with Browning, Ravens with Huntley,
- 47:47Speaker 3: Vikings with Dobbs, et cetera. Of course, their performance too.
- 47:50Speaker 4: The Ravens were not competitive with Huntley, but the rest
- 47:52Speaker 4: of them I would give you.
- 47:53Speaker 3: Of course, their performance took a dip, but they were
- 47:55Speaker 3: still at least average NFL teams. I think we can
- 47:58Speaker 3: all agree that Tua is a pretty quarterback, but nobody
- 48:01Speaker 3: would have him in the top five or eight. So
- 48:04Speaker 3: you tell me that the Dolphins, who have a decent
- 48:07Speaker 3: defense freaking Tyreek Hill and Jalen Waddle in a supposed
- 48:11Speaker 3: QB friendly scheme look like the twenty twenty three Panthers.
- 48:15Speaker 3: It has to be coaching right. Also, when you look
- 48:18Speaker 3: at the Dolphins record versus winning teams, you may make
- 48:21Speaker 3: a case for McDaniel being on the hot seat. Maybe
- 48:24Speaker 3: not this year, but definitely next year.
- 48:25Speaker 4: He keeps up, it's all fair. Yeah, that's all fair.
- 48:28Speaker 3: I was thinking the same thing.
- 48:29Speaker 4: Yeah, now he's not going anywhere because they just gave
- 48:31Speaker 4: him a big extension. But it's all the criticism is fair.
- 48:34Speaker 4: They haven't beaten good teams, and without their quarterback, they've
- 48:37Speaker 4: fallen apart. This is like two or three different times
- 48:39Speaker 4: it's happened too.
- 48:40Speaker 6: Such an interesting conversation.
- 48:41Speaker 19: I think we're so used to the conversation around here,
- 48:43Speaker 19: which we all know what that is, a lot of
- 48:45Speaker 19: it relating to weapons. But you know, to have those
- 48:48Speaker 19: two guys and just I've been amazed at the drop
- 48:51Speaker 19: off and it's just it's head scratching, especially because our
- 48:54Speaker 19: point of view on Tua is that we can't beat him.
- 48:56Speaker 19: So every game I've ever seen in person, Tua has
- 48:58Speaker 19: lit up the Patriot. I mean, maybe lit up is
- 49:00Speaker 19: a little bit strong, pretty close, pretty close close some
- 49:03Speaker 19: competitive games in there, for sure, But you know, my
- 49:06Speaker 19: warped sense of Tua is people talk about he stinks.
- 49:08Speaker 19: I'm like, well man, every time I seem to see
- 49:10Speaker 19: he's throwing these like laser pinpoint accuracy throws down that
- 49:14Speaker 19: Tyreek Hill just swoops through his own and it just
- 49:16Speaker 19: drops right where it needs to be and he's gone
- 49:18Speaker 19: to the races. But it can't be so too a specific,
- 49:21Speaker 19: you know. I just I think it's a really interesting See.
- 49:23Speaker 4: I don't think it's just too a specific. But I
- 49:26Speaker 4: will say that I would put more heat on Chris
- 49:29Speaker 4: Greer than McDaniel because I think they've had all of
- 49:33Speaker 4: those pieces on offense. Now this is the third season
- 49:35Speaker 4: and they've yet to address the offensive line. They've yet
- 49:38Speaker 4: to really bolster the defense. And what good at having
- 49:43Speaker 4: two great receivers If you lose your quarterback, Yeah, you know,
- 49:47Speaker 4: so you have nothing to fall back on because you
- 49:49Speaker 4: can't run the ball without the threat of the pass. Obviously,
- 49:53Speaker 4: because they couldn't run the ball the other day at all.
- 49:55Speaker 4: I don't know, but I think everything the email are
- 49:58Speaker 4: said about McDaniel, I would say, is absolutely true. They
- 50:00Speaker 4: haven't beaten good teams and they fall apart without their quarterback.
- 50:03Speaker 4: So what do you what exactly are you doing to
- 50:06Speaker 4: scheme it up and make us productive? Nothing.
- 50:08Speaker 20: It's interesting because I feel like when Mike McDaniel came
- 50:10Speaker 20: on the scene, he was like this young, quirky guy
- 50:12Speaker 20: and he just got so like lifted up by the
- 50:16Speaker 20: media and it's like, Okay, how much of that was
- 50:18Speaker 20: fluff and how much of it was like it's.
- 50:22Speaker 19: The type pants thing, and it's like, you know, he
- 50:25Speaker 19: still has type pants. So some of the type pants
- 50:27Speaker 19: apologists would tell you that a great offensive coordinator can
- 50:30Speaker 19: can make it work. He can scheme it up, you
- 50:32Speaker 19: know when you're seeing like, well, this type pants guy can't.
- 50:34Speaker 4: See see I would say, yeah, I'm totally in agreement
- 50:37Speaker 4: with both of you, and I would say the criticism
- 50:41Speaker 4: that you're getting here in New England is similar in
- 50:43Speaker 4: that I understand that you have some shortcomings like you like,
- 50:48Speaker 4: like the emailer said, I'm sorry to keep calling him
- 50:51Speaker 4: the emailer, I forget his name, but he made so
- 50:54Speaker 4: many good points about the quarterback leaving and all the
- 51:00Speaker 4: other teams that were able to not be anywhere near
- 51:03Speaker 4: as good but they but they were able to play.
- 51:06Speaker 4: I read off. Do you know that the scores by
- 51:08Speaker 4: quarter this season Miami.
- 51:12Speaker 3: Imagine this is cumulative.
- 51:14Speaker 4: Ten ten seven six, that's for the season.
- 51:19Speaker 6: Yeah, it starts bad, gets worse.
- 51:21Speaker 4: Yeah, I would hammer the under in the first quarter
- 51:24Speaker 4: by the way the Patriots have squed seven in the
- 51:26Speaker 4: first quarter all season like that, But I would say
- 51:31Speaker 4: that I understand that you're limited offensively. You don't have
- 51:34Speaker 4: a lot of you know, they have a left tackle
- 51:36Speaker 4: who never plays in Tarren Armstein, right, So like that
- 51:39Speaker 4: that hurts your already offensive line is already weak, and
- 51:42Speaker 4: then the best player on it is out, you know,
- 51:44Speaker 4: much like David Andrews is probably going to be out
- 51:47Speaker 4: for the rest of the season. I understand all of that.
- 51:51Speaker 4: I understand that limitations personnel wise. I'm not expecting you
- 51:54Speaker 4: to be the high flying offense that you were, but
- 51:57Speaker 4: shouldn't you be a little better than this? Like can't
- 51:59Speaker 4: you scheme it up to do something a little bit
- 52:03Speaker 4: more than what they've done the last two games three
- 52:05Speaker 4: points and twelve points or whatever it's been the last
- 52:08Speaker 4: two games. And for the Patriots, I would say the
- 52:11Speaker 4: same thing, like I understand that you do not have
- 52:14Speaker 4: all pros at all these positions, you don't have a
- 52:16Speaker 4: lot of weapons on offense, but can't you move the
- 52:21Speaker 4: ball a little? Like Alex b and Peltz said today,
- 52:23Speaker 4: like it was kind of striking to hear him say,
- 52:27Speaker 4: we need to get in the red zone. Like most
- 52:30Speaker 4: times you say we got to be better in the
- 52:32Speaker 4: red zone. They don't have to be better in the
- 52:33Speaker 4: they have to get there, like they get to the
- 52:36Speaker 4: red zone like once a game, Like why can they
- 52:40Speaker 4: not move the ball at least a little.
- 52:42Speaker 3: On the other hand, Jeffrey from Canada says, I honestly
- 52:45Speaker 3: think the Dolphins blow our doors off this week. I
- 52:48Speaker 3: think they see the Patriots as a get right game
- 52:51Speaker 3: and save their season. Whoever they start a quarterback will
- 52:54Speaker 3: only be marginally worse than our nine year journeyman. But
- 52:57Speaker 3: at every other position group they are better or the
- 53:00Speaker 3: same as we are. Talent wins out.
- 53:03Speaker 19: I feel like we haven't really talked about this game
- 53:05Speaker 19: much like I didn't want to talk about it.
- 53:07Speaker 4: Well, I just I think talk about you talk about it.
- 53:10Speaker 6: I think it's a huge game.
- 53:11Speaker 19: I think it is a huge game, and I don't,
- 53:14Speaker 19: you know, like we get into must win that usually
- 53:16Speaker 19: relates to making the playoffs, But I don't. I can't
- 53:19Speaker 19: imagine what it's like around here next week if they
- 53:20Speaker 19: lose to the regime. Must win for the regime, for
- 53:24Speaker 19: the you know, for all the things that we talked about,
- 53:26Speaker 19: for why the Bengals win was huge, was some buying,
- 53:30Speaker 19: some validation all those words that we used, And not
- 53:33Speaker 19: to say that everybody's going to be out, but this
- 53:36Speaker 19: is the kind of game against a divisional opponent that
- 53:38Speaker 19: you should be competitive with year in and year out,
- 53:40Speaker 19: no matter what your team kind of looks like I
- 53:42Speaker 19: would expect, like these are the teams you know, well
- 53:44Speaker 19: we see it more often than not. I would say that,
- 53:46Speaker 19: and even going back to the dynasty that these games
- 53:49Speaker 19: were often tighter than you would expect. But what does
- 53:51Speaker 19: this look like next week if this Patriots team can't
- 53:53Speaker 19: beat Tyler Huntley.
- 53:54Speaker 5: And the Dolphins.
- 53:55Speaker 19: You know, even when two years ago they were able
- 53:57Speaker 19: to beat a Dolphins team with a backup quarterbacks, so
- 54:00Speaker 19: that you know, that's what it kind of takes.
- 54:02Speaker 5: But we know how bad those teams have been.
- 54:04Speaker 19: I just I see this as a must win game
- 54:06Speaker 19: for this team, and I don't know, And I think
- 54:08Speaker 19: Paul is right, like.
- 54:09Speaker 4: Must wear what for the fear of losing?
- 54:13Speaker 19: Some people problems and it's almost like you just have
- 54:17Speaker 19: to check the box because like get to the point
- 54:19Speaker 19: where everyone can make the foul claim next week that
- 54:22Speaker 19: they turn the corner there, like for me, it's like, well,
- 54:25Speaker 19: you know, like everyone's gonna see they shut out, like
- 54:27Speaker 19: like you have to earn a right to be able
- 54:30Speaker 19: to flex on this win. And you know, for me,
- 54:32Speaker 19: it's like you just have to check this box so
- 54:35Speaker 19: that it's not lookout below next week that we are
- 54:37Speaker 19: not Not only are we struggling in the division like
- 54:40Speaker 19: this is like we can't even beat backup quarterbacks.
- 54:42Speaker 4: All that said, though what the emailer said, it is
- 54:44Speaker 4: probably true, you probably have a slightly better quarterback, but
- 54:48Speaker 4: every other position group at worst is a wash and
- 54:53Speaker 4: it's dolphins, and the Dolphins have edges at some of them.
- 54:56Speaker 19: And you still feel like you need to see something
- 54:57Speaker 19: from the Patriots, probably that you haven't seen yet this year,
- 55:00Speaker 19: I mean to the point of unsustainable.
- 55:02Speaker 6: Like I mean, maybe you can can say that this
- 55:04Speaker 6: week that.
- 55:04Speaker 19: No turnovers, fast start and next if you know goods
- 55:07Speaker 19: finish all that stuff, and I'm sure it probably would,
- 55:10Speaker 19: but you're only a tyreeker Jalen Waddell, and we've seen
- 55:13Speaker 19: plenty of those over the year where they catch a
- 55:15Speaker 19: little slant no bye bye.
- 55:16Speaker 4: I was glad to listen to hear Covington talk about
- 55:18Speaker 4: that today. You know, like they have those guys and
- 55:22Speaker 4: that's how they're gonna get it over the top, and
- 55:24Speaker 4: that's how they're gonna beat you, because I do think
- 55:27Speaker 4: that's what Miami. Miami watches tape two just like you do,
- 55:30Speaker 4: and that's what that's what worked against So that's worked
- 55:33Speaker 4: for the Niners. And if I were Mike McDaniel, I'd
- 55:36Speaker 4: be looking to get the ball in those guys' hands
- 55:38Speaker 4: down the field.
- 55:39Speaker 19: That's what's scary this is because it's kind of a
- 55:41Speaker 19: must win, but it's not going to be easy, and
- 55:43Speaker 19: it only takes a couple of brain farts.
- 55:45Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 55:46Speaker 6: We saw Gabrol Peppers in the in the locker room today,
- 55:48Speaker 6: Like I.
- 55:48Speaker 5: Just I don't want to lose both safeties.
- 55:50Speaker 19: You know, it doesn't sound like Dugger's going to be
- 55:52Speaker 19: out there, but you know, to roll out there with
- 55:54Speaker 19: maybe Jalen Hawkins and del Pettis playing most of the
- 55:57Speaker 19: safety snaps against those two players, it could take one
- 56:00Speaker 19: or two brain farts.
- 56:01Speaker 5: And that's the difference in this game with how much
- 56:03Speaker 5: they both struggle to score.
- 56:04Speaker 3: Yeah, Mike writes in I've heard a lot a phrase
- 56:08Speaker 3: a lot from both this show and others that quote.
- 56:11Speaker 3: Eventually Drake needs to play with various reasons, like he
- 56:14Speaker 3: needs to learn to play with pressure, or we need
- 56:16Speaker 3: to figure out what we have ignoring the disagreement we
- 56:20Speaker 3: have about what is reasonable pressure. I want to understand
- 56:23Speaker 3: what does eventually mean. I always interpret it as I've
- 56:26Speaker 3: waited long enough and I want this now. Is that right?
- 56:29Speaker 3: What are your individual bars when we actually reached Eventually?
- 56:34Speaker 3: For me, eventually doesn't apply to year one. Even if
- 56:37Speaker 3: Drake would make games more fun.
- 56:42Speaker 4: My definition is when he's ready.
- 56:45Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, like if he's if he's.
- 56:46Speaker 4: Ready to play, I don't see any reason why he
- 56:48Speaker 4: keep trotting out a guy who's not as good as
- 56:50Speaker 4: he is physically.
- 56:51Speaker 19: Yeah, that's the internal thing, and that's we don't will
- 56:53Speaker 19: never know.
- 56:54Speaker 4: I don't know the answer externally.
- 56:56Speaker 19: I'd say it's a week to week thing for me now,
- 56:58Speaker 19: and I think you know the way you later out
- 57:00Speaker 19: on Felgermass yesterday. I just not feeling great about nick
- 57:03Speaker 19: levertt first start at center for the Patriots. I mean,
- 57:06Speaker 19: you're gonna probably have to start Drape May behind nick
- 57:09Speaker 19: Levett this season if you put him in. So you
- 57:10Speaker 19: have to bite the bullet on that. But I'm in
- 57:12Speaker 19: a week to week basis, and that's kind of my
- 57:14Speaker 19: thing of this week. Why not this week? But if
- 57:16Speaker 19: they lose to the Dolphins and it's another lackluster effort
- 57:20Speaker 19: from the offense and Jacoby Brissette you feel like is
- 57:22Speaker 19: turning the ball over or missing throws that are there
- 57:24Speaker 19: and missing opportunities, then I don't know.
- 57:26Speaker 5: It could happen as soon as next So.
- 57:28Speaker 4: I'll say two things about it, Like, again, to me,
- 57:31Speaker 4: it's more about Drake May than it is about everything
- 57:35Speaker 4: around him. And and Mike is right, like, we don't
- 57:40Speaker 4: know when the coaches think Drake May is ready mentally
- 57:44Speaker 4: to handle a game. But the other part is what
- 57:49Speaker 4: if Drake May is ready and he's playing well in
- 57:53Speaker 4: practice the way they gushed last week? Right, the coaches
- 57:56Speaker 4: have been we're all talking about how good he's playing.
- 57:58Speaker 6: Players too.
- 57:59Speaker 4: Don't you think the players are going to look at
- 58:01Speaker 4: this at some point and say, why are we not
- 58:03Speaker 4: playing our best option at quarterback?
- 58:05Speaker 3: Yep?
- 58:06Speaker 6: I mean just to echo on that, like the players
- 58:08Speaker 6: are saying it too. It's not just the coaches.
- 58:10Speaker 19: The players are telling multiple media members in the locker
- 58:12Speaker 19: room that he's really playing well in practice. So you know,
- 58:15Speaker 19: it's not a campaign of don't worry. Everything's great behind
- 58:19Speaker 19: the scenes. I do think there are but you're right
- 58:21Speaker 19: at a certain point, if he's chucking the ball down,
- 58:23Speaker 19: you know, Pop Douglas is catching bombs in practice, and
- 58:25Speaker 19: then he.
- 58:25Speaker 6: Gets in and he's like, I'm getting open. She can't
- 58:27Speaker 6: give me the ball.
- 58:28Speaker 4: And my feel is I want to get Drake May
- 58:33Speaker 4: as close to his potential as quickly as I can.
- 58:36Speaker 4: It's less about I want to find out about him. Okay,
- 58:40Speaker 4: because virtually, no matter what happens this year, he's going
- 58:44Speaker 4: to be the quarterback next year. I don't need to
- 58:46Speaker 4: find out if he's going to be my quarterback in
- 58:48Speaker 4: twenty five. I don't need to find that out. I
- 58:50Speaker 4: know I just took him with a third overall pick.
- 58:53Speaker 4: But let's just say he has a ceiling of being
- 58:59Speaker 4: a top ten qu quarterback. I want to get him
- 59:02Speaker 4: enough experience so he's as close to being a top
- 59:05Speaker 4: ten quarterback as quickly as I can. So I want
- 59:08Speaker 4: him to reach his ceiling in a year and a half,
- 59:11Speaker 4: not three years. You know what I'm saying, Like the
- 59:15Speaker 4: Packers will tell you, Oh, but the Packers will tell you, well,
- 59:19Speaker 4: that's where you know it worked out for Jordan Love.
- 59:22Speaker 4: That was great. They didn't have to wait three years
- 59:25Speaker 4: of misery to get there because they had Aaron Rodgers.
- 59:31Speaker 4: You know, the Patriots don't have that same luxury. That's
- 59:34Speaker 4: I mean, I get it. I know that people are
- 59:36Speaker 4: Aaron Rodgers, people are people are scared to be young
- 59:40Speaker 4: Montana ruining the guy, and I just don't think there's
- 59:42Speaker 4: a lot of examples of that.
- 59:43Speaker 9: Sorry, Alix No, I was talking over you too. But
- 59:46Speaker 9: that's the thing is so many people make that argument
- 59:47Speaker 9: of like, but.
- 59:48Speaker 20: This player waited, but this player waited, Okay, yeah, who
- 59:51Speaker 20: would want Aaron Rodgers to come out of a game
- 59:54Speaker 20: for you know what I mean, It's it's a totally
- 59:56Speaker 20: It's like Apples to Orange is It's such a different scenario.
- 59:58Speaker 19: That's yeah, that's like my what my perspective is is
- 1:00:01Speaker 19: this isn't changing horses mid stream, like this is a rebuild.
- 1:00:05Speaker 19: This is a Drake May is going to take lumps,
- 1:00:07Speaker 19: like he's going to have bad losses that he has
- 1:00:10Speaker 19: to learn from and use to you know, so next
- 1:00:12Speaker 19: time when he goes down to Miami or you know,
- 1:00:15Speaker 19: has to play in Buffalo, that he's got something to
- 1:00:17Speaker 19: build off of, and you know, he knows what these
- 1:00:19Speaker 19: defenses kind of look like and has some experience in
- 1:00:21Speaker 19: these different stadiums. But you know, it's not he's going
- 1:00:24Speaker 19: to step in and all of a sudden everything's going
- 1:00:25Speaker 19: to be roases again.
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: Vincent writes, and he wants to know what happened to
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: the chat on YouTube. I'll be perfectly upfront with people.
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: There's a few bad apples that were really nasty. So
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: we've shut down the chat on YouTube until such time
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: we can maybe implement some type of filtering software. Uh,
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: you know, So it's unfortunate that some bad apples have
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: to ruin it for everybody else, but that's what we've
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: done from now.
- 1:00:50Speaker 4: Bad apple spoils the whole.
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: I'm done for now. So that's why the chat about this. Yeah,
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: we had some racist people.
- 1:00:57Speaker 6: Oh yeah, those aren't good.
- 1:00:59Speaker 4: That's not a bad apple, that's an a hole.
- 1:01:01Speaker 3: Yeah. So but we'll get it back up once we
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: figure out how to filter certain things out.
- 1:01:06Speaker 4: So just let me this is sort of what I'm
- 1:01:08Speaker 4: talking about. Like, and obviously we'd all sort of bite
- 1:01:13Speaker 4: the bullet if we turned out to be like this,
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: but like Aaron Rodgers. Okay, so he had Brett Favre
- 1:01:20Speaker 4: and that's great. So they were able to not play
- 1:01:22Speaker 4: him for three full seasons. Okay, again, you had a
- 1:01:26Speaker 4: Hall of Famer playing instead, so you were able to
- 1:01:29Speaker 4: But here's what I'm looking to avoid. In year four,
- 1:01:34Speaker 4: Aaron Rodgers takes over as the starter and they go
- 1:01:37Speaker 4: six and ten because he's not ready.
- 1:01:40Speaker 6: Yeah, you know, like you want to get the six
- 1:01:43Speaker 6: and ten this year?
- 1:01:43Speaker 4: Yeah? Yeah, I want to get the six and ten
- 1:01:46Speaker 4: out of the way as fast as I can, because
- 1:01:47Speaker 4: that's what happens to most of these guys. They're not
- 1:01:50Speaker 4: all like CJ. Stroud, right, and advance in the playoffs
- 1:01:54Speaker 4: as a rookie, you know so, and then all of
- 1:01:57Speaker 4: a sudden in year two he's eleven and five. I'm
- 1:02:02Speaker 4: looking to avoid the delay to start, followed by the
- 1:02:06Speaker 4: delay to get good, followed by this is where we
- 1:02:08Speaker 4: want to be now. Obviously, if Drake May isn't good
- 1:02:14Speaker 4: for four years but turns out to be Aaron Rodgers,
- 1:02:16Speaker 4: I think we'd all say, well, I'll take that. You're
- 1:02:19Speaker 4: probably not going to get four years to get good
- 1:02:22Speaker 4: the way Aaron Rodgers did.
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: Christen new Hampshire writes in Callers, he says, please stop
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: stating your resume. I've been watching since Joe carp Paul
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: Kittridge and Ed mcrillis of the Boston Bulldogs. No one cares.
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: It adds no gravitas to your call. And he's looking
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: forward to the newsletter. So all right, we're going to
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: take a break. My food's here when we come back.

- 1:04:10Speaker 23: When someone accidentally threw away the school play costumes, oh no,
- 1:04:14Speaker 23: replacements were shipped with FedEx and with picture proof of delivery,
- 1:04:18Speaker 23: everyone could focus on the perfect opening night FedEx where
- 1:04:22Speaker 23: now it's next for residential delivery only.
- 1:04:25Speaker 7: I am yeah, I think it.
- 1:04:27Speaker 24: Uh you look back at the film, it was just execution,
- 1:04:29Speaker 24: uh you know execution in uh in a in a
- 1:04:32Speaker 24: lot of height situations where they were third down, you know, uh,
- 1:04:36Speaker 24: you know, key key plays and drives and things like that.
- 1:04:39Speaker 24: I think it really came down to execution. Uh, and
- 1:04:42Speaker 24: you know and going forward, and obviously, you know, we
- 1:04:44Speaker 24: got a new quarter of our season coming up right now.
- 1:04:46Speaker 24: So the the the mindset is, you know kind of
- 1:04:49Speaker 24: not to like clear the slate, but you got a
- 1:04:51Speaker 24: fresh start, you know, into and uh you know and
- 1:04:54Speaker 24: get ready for essentially week one, you know what I mean.
- 1:04:57Speaker 7: And that's kind of where we are right now.
- 1:04:58Speaker 24: And uh, you know a lot of guys excited about
- 1:05:00Speaker 24: this opportunity as far as starting the second quarter of
- 1:05:02Speaker 24: our season. Uh, you know, getting this thing off of
- 1:05:04Speaker 24: the right foot. Obviously being at home, you know, have
- 1:05:06Speaker 24: been at home for a while, so you know, get
- 1:05:08Speaker 24: to play in front of our fans and and so yeah.
- 1:05:20Speaker 7: Uh, not at all.
- 1:05:21Speaker 24: I mean we uh you know, that's kind of what
- 1:05:24Speaker 24: practiced for a lot of times, you know, and you know,
- 1:05:26Speaker 24: you get get those reps with a lot of the
- 1:05:27Speaker 24: different guys. So you know, obviously playing the game with Nick,
- 1:05:31Speaker 24: you know, obviously being having that you know, rapport that's
- 1:05:34Speaker 24: a good word, I just use, uh that rapport with
- 1:05:37Speaker 24: him and uh, you know, and building on that and yeah.
- 1:05:43Speaker 7: Yeah it's tough man, that that would hurt me, you know.
- 1:05:45Speaker 8: Uh, one of.
- 1:05:47Speaker 24: The key reason why I wanted to come back here
- 1:05:49Speaker 24: because of my past relationship with him, and and you know,
- 1:05:52Speaker 24: it's tough when when a guy like that goes down,
- 1:05:55Speaker 24: because you know, he's not going down.
- 1:05:56Speaker 7: For anything minor, you know.
- 1:05:58Speaker 24: Uh, you know, I talked to him morning and you know,
- 1:06:01Speaker 24: and he's like, man, I think I'm a true I'm like, Dave, like,
- 1:06:03Speaker 24: come on, man, like you know, like as much as
- 1:06:05Speaker 24: I would love for you too, but you know, it's
- 1:06:09Speaker 24: just he means so much of his team, you know,
- 1:06:11Speaker 24: not only just on the field, but off the field.
- 1:06:14Speaker 24: You know, his presence, you know, in the locker room
- 1:06:16Speaker 24: obviously in this community. He's been here for so long,
- 1:06:19Speaker 24: and you know, it's it's like you wish you had
- 1:06:22Speaker 24: you know, you know fifty three, you know, David Andrews.
- 1:06:25Speaker 7: You know those things.
- 1:06:28Speaker 25: That David bringing to the table that we don't get
- 1:06:30Speaker 25: to see every day that you know, you get to
- 1:06:32Speaker 25: see around him, and just you know, obviously the center
- 1:06:34Speaker 25: position to.
- 1:06:35Speaker 24: Be as important as this, I mean, I would say
- 1:06:37Speaker 24: start with, you know, knowledge of the game, you know,
- 1:06:39Speaker 24: I mean he kind of runs runs the show out there.
- 1:06:41Speaker 24: I'm kind of just you know, co hosting when he's
- 1:06:43Speaker 24: out there. You know, his toughness. I don't think people
- 1:06:46Speaker 24: understand how tough he is, you know, and the things
- 1:06:49Speaker 24: he's battled, you know, through his career and still you know,
- 1:06:52Speaker 24: he's he's happy, go lucky to be out there and
- 1:06:55Speaker 24: just a childlike energy, you know, and his his it
- 1:07:00Speaker 24: in his play, you know, just speaks for himself. When
- 1:07:01Speaker 24: you see him when he's healthy man in this and
- 1:07:03Speaker 24: see him playing, it's it's like he's he's up there
- 1:07:05Speaker 24: with the top guys in this league. And you know,
- 1:07:07Speaker 24: I mean and the guy that has won a lot
- 1:07:09Speaker 24: of football in this league and has seen a lot
- 1:07:11Speaker 24: of football, and uh, you know, it's it's obvialy gonna
- 1:07:14Speaker 24: be tough to to to fill that void. Uh you know,
- 1:07:17Speaker 24: we obviously have to, but uh you know, like I said,
- 1:07:20Speaker 24: it's tough losing him get sack.
- 1:07:22Speaker 7: And with him.
- 1:07:24Speaker 26: How do you avoid a pity party on your plight
- 1:07:27Speaker 26: home from San Francisco, because you know what's happening.
- 1:07:32Speaker 7: In the first quarter of time.
- 1:07:34Speaker 24: Yeah, I don't think it's it's it's time for the
- 1:07:36Speaker 24: pity party, you know what I mean. I don't think
- 1:07:37Speaker 24: we have time for a pitty party.
- 1:07:38Speaker 17: You know.
- 1:07:38Speaker 7: Uh, so.
- 1:07:41Speaker 24: You know, we kind of understand like going forward, you
- 1:07:44Speaker 24: know this second quarter. You know, Mayo kind of emphasized that,
- 1:07:47Speaker 24: you know, our offse coordinator, dexcordinator, specially teams coach kind
- 1:07:50Speaker 24: of emphasized that in our respectable rooms about you know,
- 1:07:53Speaker 24: this second quarter of our season. Uh, you know, and
- 1:07:56Speaker 24: the first quarter was what the first quarter was. You know,
- 1:07:58Speaker 24: it's it's you know, it's no escaping it. But you
- 1:08:01Speaker 24: get a chance to make a new second quarter, you know,
- 1:08:03Speaker 24: and start new momentum and start uh you know, a
- 1:08:06Speaker 24: new junction of the season, and a lot of guys
- 1:08:09Speaker 24: and I know a lot of everybody is excited about
- 1:08:12Speaker 24: that opportunity. Uh, you know, and and it starts today
- 1:08:14Speaker 24: on Practicevield.
- 1:08:16Speaker 26: We about reflecting, and you talked a lot about reflecting
- 1:08:20Speaker 26: last week the last couple of days. How do you
- 1:08:22Speaker 26: mentally kind of recouped, reprepared and get.
- 1:08:25Speaker 7: Going again for a new game.
- 1:08:27Speaker 24: Uh, that's part of the league, you know. Uh, you know,
- 1:08:30Speaker 24: the good thing was we had a long flight. The
- 1:08:31Speaker 24: bad thing was it was a long flight, but uh,
- 1:08:33Speaker 24: you know, you gotta couldn't sleep on the plane, so
- 1:08:35Speaker 24: you know, you thought about the game, watch the game,
- 1:08:37Speaker 24: and and kind of you know, flushed and and and
- 1:08:41Speaker 24: kind of just moved on, you know, and then obviously
- 1:08:43Speaker 24: come in and watched it, watch it with the team,
- 1:08:44Speaker 24: and and and get our corrections and things like that.
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:08:49Speaker 7: But yeah, that's just how the league works. You know.
- 1:08:50Speaker 24: You gotta you can't dwell on the pass, good or bad.
- 1:08:52Speaker 24: You know, you kind of gotta keep keep moving forward.
- 1:08:56Speaker 7: Uh, Miami this week, that was a previous stop for you.
- 1:09:00Speaker 5: You played with two just durious you have your relationship
- 1:09:02Speaker 5: with and reached out.
- 1:09:03Speaker 7: To the Yeah, I mean we talked.
- 1:09:04Speaker 24: We talked at the beginning of the season and then
- 1:09:06Speaker 24: I think I sent him a text maybe I remember,
- 1:09:09Speaker 24: but yeah, a relationship there. Yeah, yeah, for sure. Yeah, man,
- 1:09:17Speaker 24: don't I don't want to see no player get injured,
- 1:09:20Speaker 24: you know, no matter what what the case may be. Uh,
- 1:09:23Speaker 24: you know, obviously somebody that I know for sure, you know,
- 1:09:26Speaker 24: and uh, you know, just hoping that he continues to
- 1:09:29Speaker 24: recover and get healthy.
- 1:09:31Speaker 6: Healthy.
- 1:09:31Speaker 9: Trugg just said, you.
- 1:09:33Speaker 6: Know, after the Bags went, that's not a.
- 1:09:35Speaker 12: Sustainable way for the team to win going forward for
- 1:09:38Speaker 12: the rest of the season.
- 1:09:39Speaker 5: Not being able to score more than twenty points. Is
- 1:09:41Speaker 5: that a message that he's communicated to offensive players.
- 1:09:45Speaker 21: Behind the scenes and what ways do you see the
- 1:09:48Speaker 21: team improving their ability to score more points in the game.
- 1:09:53Speaker 7: Well, they mean in the offense.
- 1:09:56Speaker 24: Yeah, he's definitely conveyed that message, and you know, and
- 1:09:58Speaker 24: that's where we're working to try to do, you know,
- 1:10:01Speaker 24: and figure out and uh, obviously we have game plans
- 1:10:04Speaker 24: in place and things, and you know, we're trying to
- 1:10:07Speaker 24: execute it. And that's when I kind of go back
- 1:10:08Speaker 24: to the to the first question. It's just the execution,
- 1:10:11Speaker 24: you know what I mean. And I think that's really
- 1:10:12Speaker 24: what Gerard is really harpening on us about. It is
- 1:10:14Speaker 24: just execution, and especially in a lot of those key
- 1:10:16Speaker 24: moments in those situations in the parts of the game,
- 1:10:19Speaker 24: you know, whether it's you know, first down coming out
- 1:10:21Speaker 24: of off the sideline or you know, third downs, you know,
- 1:10:24Speaker 24: stand on the field and things like that, because when
- 1:10:26Speaker 24: we get get drives going, we get drives going, and
- 1:10:28Speaker 24: then you know, obviously finishing in the red zone and
- 1:10:30Speaker 24: and so you know, I definitely think this this quarter
- 1:10:33Speaker 24: of our season is about us, you know, I mean,
- 1:10:35Speaker 24: in our execution and and really you know, kind of
- 1:10:39Speaker 24: growing up as a team and as individuals.
- 1:10:42Speaker 25: The other day, Gerard said schematically, he would like to
- 1:10:47Speaker 25: see the offense to be able to pick the ball
- 1:10:49Speaker 25: out a little bit more. Gre do you feel like
- 1:10:51Speaker 25: you've been given an often the way of answers to
- 1:10:54Speaker 25: be able to get rid of the before?
- 1:10:58Speaker 7: Yeah, I think.
- 1:10:59Speaker 24: I think it's a mixture of a lot of different things. Uh,
- 1:11:02Speaker 24: but yeah, I want.
- 1:11:05Speaker 27: I want to playoff Phil's question a little bit. Quarterbacks job,
- 1:11:09Speaker 27: part of it isstry be able to read the field
- 1:11:11Speaker 27: and make reads. You've been under pressure a lot, obviously,
- 1:11:14Speaker 27: How does that pressure that you're under affect you in
- 1:11:17Speaker 27: terms reads you're able to make for individual place?
- 1:11:21Speaker 7: I mean, it definitely plays a part in it. Uh.
- 1:11:23Speaker 24: And uh, that's the the good thing about being early
- 1:11:26Speaker 24: in the season and being able to you know, go
- 1:11:28Speaker 24: back and watch the film and and now, like I said,
- 1:11:31Speaker 24: it's the it's the second quarter. Now, So now how
- 1:11:34Speaker 24: do you, uh, you know, get to those reads faster?
- 1:11:37Speaker 24: You know, get the ball out faster? And uh, And
- 1:11:40Speaker 24: I think that's the My job, obviously, and obviously a
- 1:11:43Speaker 24: VP's job, and honestly all of our jobs really is
- 1:11:46Speaker 24: to find ways to where where because teams are gonna
- 1:11:49Speaker 24: pressure us and we're we're very aware of that. So
- 1:11:51Speaker 24: now it's about how how do we answer and combat
- 1:11:53Speaker 24: that and moving forward.
- 1:11:55Speaker 19: That you mentioned Jalen tolk trust that you had going
- 1:11:58Speaker 19: down the field and against the Niners.
- 1:11:59Speaker 7: That that's kind of the google behind the scenes.
- 1:12:01Speaker 5: And also and now great moments in.
- 1:12:07Speaker 3: History. So when you say your defensive front seven, guy,
- 1:12:10Speaker 3: what does that mean?
- 1:12:11Speaker 6: Like?
- 1:12:11Speaker 5: You know, like, I just love it.
- 1:12:12Speaker 19: It's my favorite part of the team building and how
- 1:12:14Speaker 19: they put it together.
- 1:12:15Speaker 3: From where the guys win.
- 1:12:17Speaker 6: Are you guys all looking at each other making fun
- 1:12:18Speaker 6: of you?
- 1:12:20Speaker 4: Burd Alert, Well, I didn't roll. I was just making
- 1:12:24Speaker 4: fun of.
- 1:12:24Speaker 27: Him, which is hilarious because when he talks about defensive
- 1:12:28Speaker 27: line guys, his voice changes a little.
- 1:12:30Speaker 3: Yes, we had the greatest quarterback in the history of
- 1:12:33Speaker 3: the game.
- 1:12:35Speaker 4: He's gone Lawrence guy.
- 1:12:38Speaker 3: Not no, no disrespect to Lawrence.
- 1:12:41Speaker 7: I love it.
- 1:12:41Speaker 5: No, you're totally right.
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: That's another great moment from.
- 1:12:46Speaker 3: All right back here on Patriots Unfiltered eight five five
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: past five hundred is the tpx houtline podcasts at Patriots
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: dot com. As the email address Burton Burton Island, uh
- 1:12:58Speaker 3: writes in as we wait for Evan to show up,
- 1:13:00Speaker 3: he said. My three favorite aspects of Evan returning from practice.
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: One his theme song, which is superior to Mike Sorry Jews.
- 1:13:08Speaker 3: Two when Fred asked if there was any grousing. Three
- 1:13:13Speaker 3: when Evan is put on the spot and asks to
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: settle an argument from earlier in the show.
- 1:13:18Speaker 4: You that a lot, that a lot.
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: Also minor complained for Fred. You ended last Thursday show
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: with I'll talk to you on Tuesday. Now, come on.
- 1:13:25Speaker 9: I noticed that too.
- 1:13:26Speaker 4: I don't even know what that's all about.
- 1:13:28Speaker 9: Tuesday, he always says, see you next Tuesday.
- 1:13:30Speaker 4: No, no, I know what it's about. I'm saying, I
- 1:13:33Speaker 4: don't know why you didn't say it. They got to them.
- 1:13:37Speaker 3: It Mitch in Albany. I was looking for a TV,
- 1:13:40Speaker 3: he says. I had to say. I had the same
- 1:13:42Speaker 3: experience with Visio bought two about nine years ago, and
- 1:13:46Speaker 3: they both completely died within a week of each other
- 1:13:48Speaker 3: a few months ago. Really ashamed that speed Queen doesn't
- 1:13:51Speaker 3: make TVs. I agree, because you know it would last.
- 1:13:56Speaker 3: It would be hard on the shows.
- 1:13:57Speaker 4: But did you ask to Alex? Did you ask for
- 1:14:02Speaker 4: a second, did you ask Alex about she knows about
- 1:14:05Speaker 4: all you know?
- 1:14:06Speaker 6: She knows a lot of things.
- 1:14:08Speaker 20: When it comes to like manufacturing, and like if it's
- 1:14:10Speaker 20: a German company, I probably could trust it.
- 1:14:13Speaker 3: No, Samsung, you don't get a lot of patriots contraire.
- 1:14:18Speaker 3: A lot of the people who have been TV is
- 1:14:20Speaker 3: good help, they say Samsung is really because.
- 1:14:22Speaker 9: They'rees and washing machines are not.
- 1:14:25Speaker 3: Yeah, too many bells and whistles now, people tell me
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: that get the O, L E D whatever it is, Samsung.
- 1:14:35Speaker 3: I've had a few people say Samsung, you can't go wrong.
- 1:14:38Speaker 9: TV rankings.
- 1:14:40Speaker 3: And Sony LG do we like l G and LG Sony.
- 1:14:45Speaker 4: I remember getting to Sony a while ago and the
- 1:14:48Speaker 4: guys like Cadillac of TV can't go wrong with a Sonya.
- 1:14:53Speaker 3: That's what I did. I ordered my Sony.
- 1:14:56Speaker 5: That's why I got a Sony.
- 1:14:57Speaker 3: It'll be delivered, like it'll be delivered and in a
- 1:15:00Speaker 3: few days.
- 1:15:01Speaker 5: Yeah, my mom's got this TV though.
- 1:15:03Speaker 19: And I don't know if it's l ED, but it
- 1:15:04Speaker 19: makes everything look like video and it's really annoying.
- 1:15:07Speaker 6: Like even film movies state there the frame rate or whatever.
- 1:15:09Speaker 6: They think it's l C D maybe or something.
- 1:15:11Speaker 3: Yeah, that all has to do with the mega hurts
- 1:15:14Speaker 3: or whatever. But o l ed is what I'm told
- 1:15:17Speaker 3: to get because like you know, you get the black
- 1:15:20Speaker 3: color on a regular HD TV and it seems like
- 1:15:23Speaker 3: washed out and like wavy. And I guess with these
- 1:15:27Speaker 3: black is black it you need it for video You
- 1:15:31Speaker 3: got to turn your mic on, Matt words. Okay, so
- 1:15:37Speaker 3: it's different for you, guys.
- 1:15:39Speaker 5: We've still gotten this one.
- 1:15:41Speaker 3: I can't talk to you, guys. Do you think I
- 1:15:45Speaker 3: want to hear what you had to say because you're
- 1:15:47Speaker 3: like mister watch TV.
- 1:15:48Speaker 4: Speak quin speak queen.
- 1:15:50Speaker 5: Do you think you'll do any product reviews in the newsletter?
- 1:15:52Speaker 6: Like you know, just yeah, we should.
- 1:15:55Speaker 3: We have to be careful though that we don't do
- 1:15:57Speaker 3: a product review of one of our sponsors.
- 1:15:59Speaker 6: And right, led that's the way you gotta go.
- 1:16:04Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what I did. Video games? Oh, I don't
- 1:16:08Speaker 3: play video games. You should start with you.
- 1:16:10Speaker 7: I don't want to play people away.
- 1:16:11Speaker 3: But they say for sports he's an.
- 1:16:13Speaker 4: Adult, so he doesn't play those really good?
- 1:16:17Speaker 3: All right, we gotta hurry, So let's get to more
- 1:16:20Speaker 3: of our calls on the TPX hotline. Let's see who's first.
- 1:16:24Speaker 3: Jay in Minnesota has been hanging on What's up? Jay, Minnesota?
- 1:16:29Speaker 27: Jay?
- 1:16:31Speaker 3: Jay Jay Jay, Okay, goodbye Jay. We'll go down to Washington,
- 1:16:36Speaker 3: d C. Richard. What's up, Richard?
- 1:16:40Speaker 4: Richard, Matt, did you change something when you were doing
- 1:16:44Speaker 4: the talk back to us?
- 1:16:46Speaker 3: Because now I hear something, turn it up. I think
- 1:16:49Speaker 3: you did something. He's talking, but I don't think we
- 1:16:52Speaker 3: can hear him.
- 1:16:53Speaker 7: Nobody's talking.
- 1:16:54Speaker 3: No, Okay, Richard's not there. We'll go to Jacob in
- 1:16:59Speaker 3: North Carol. Jacob, come on, Jacob, Jacob he is yes,
- 1:17:05Speaker 3: Hey Jacob.
- 1:17:07Speaker 14: Hey, uh, big big fan of though I love watching listening.
- 1:17:12Speaker 14: I know recently there's been a lot of talk about
- 1:17:14Speaker 14: like Rimandre and his uh his fumbles and everything, and
- 1:17:18Speaker 14: people ask Mayo some questions about if he could be
- 1:17:22Speaker 14: bench potentially because of that. I just want to get
- 1:17:25Speaker 14: your guys' take on how does that apply to like
- 1:17:27Speaker 14: the quarterback position, because I know Brissette really hasn't been
- 1:17:31Speaker 14: turning the ball over very much, but this past week unfortunately,
- 1:17:35Speaker 14: there were some uh some turnovers on his end. When
- 1:17:39Speaker 14: does when does that come into play at the quarterback position?
- 1:17:42Speaker 3: Yeah? I think in general that's a good question.
- 1:17:44Speaker 4: When Drake may is ready, it's my it's my pad answer.
- 1:17:48Speaker 3: But also what I think it meant like the same
- 1:17:51Speaker 3: rules for you you bench a guy who fumbles too much,
- 1:17:54Speaker 3: Is it the same rules for a quarterback?
- 1:17:56Speaker 4: Ah, if he's not playing well consistently, that's when quarterback
- 1:18:00Speaker 4: get benched.
- 1:18:00Speaker 3: Yeah, but it has to be like if it's a
- 1:18:03Speaker 3: if it's a good quarterback, he has to be played
- 1:18:05Speaker 3: really bad for a while. Right.
- 1:18:07Speaker 4: No, but yeah, it would be a different situation if
- 1:18:11Speaker 4: it was. Yeah, like mac Jones got benched.
- 1:18:14Speaker 3: But a lot of people said that Bill kind of
- 1:18:16Speaker 3: mishandled that.
- 1:18:17Speaker 4: No, No, I'm talking about last year. Mack Jones was
- 1:18:19Speaker 4: playing Polly for the first half of the season. Bailey's
- 1:18:21Speaker 4: happy played the rest of the season.
- 1:18:22Speaker 7: Right.
- 1:18:22Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:18:23Speaker 4: Now, if you have like a situation like in Jacksonville,
- 1:18:27Speaker 4: Trevor Lawrence hasn't played well, but he's clearly their franchise quarterback.
- 1:18:32Speaker 4: He's probably going to continue to be their their quarterback
- 1:18:34Speaker 4: until they decide he's not the quarterback anymore, and then
- 1:18:37Speaker 4: you move on and he goes somewhere else, Right, Daniel
- 1:18:40Speaker 4: Jones with the Giants, Right, you know.
- 1:18:42Speaker 19: It's just hard to draw a comparison with a running
- 1:18:44Speaker 19: back who's fumbled in all four games and lost in
- 1:18:47Speaker 19: the last two.
- 1:18:47Speaker 4: I mean, that's the way five in a row going
- 1:18:49Speaker 4: back to last year to him.
- 1:18:50Speaker 19: So wow, that's that's a good stat I mean for
- 1:18:52Speaker 19: a quarterback, would that be like two to three interceptions
- 1:18:54Speaker 19: four games in a row.
- 1:18:55Speaker 6: I mean it's it's it's hard to do it as a.
- 1:18:57Speaker 5: Running back like that.
- 1:18:58Speaker 19: I think that's why there's just so much attention and
- 1:19:00Speaker 19: on Stevenson with this.
- 1:19:01Speaker 5: Yep, but I'm guessing maybe he doesn't start.
- 1:19:03Speaker 19: They you know, get Gibson, get going, you know, hasty
- 1:19:05Speaker 19: a little bit, and then you bring Remondra in when
- 1:19:07Speaker 19: you feel like, all right, this is the time, like
- 1:19:09Speaker 19: the games in question, we need you now come in,
- 1:19:12Speaker 19: don't fumble help you know, that's maybe how you try
- 1:19:14Speaker 19: to break it tough one.
- 1:19:16Speaker 6: Then you gotta put him in.
- 1:19:17Speaker 4: Win the game?
- 1:19:18Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 1:19:18Speaker 4: Does he win the game? And the storyline for the
- 1:19:20Speaker 4: post game show is Gerard Mayo pushing all the buttons. Right,
- 1:19:26Speaker 4: We'll give us something to talk about him.
- 1:19:27Speaker 3: Chad's in Dallas, Hey, Chad.
- 1:19:31Speaker 13: Hey helps going? I make this quick. I was hopefully
- 1:19:36Speaker 13: somebody can clarify this for me. But I know we're
- 1:19:39Speaker 13: talking about Jake may starting and not and I think
- 1:19:43Speaker 13: that's kind of is what it is at this point.
- 1:19:45Speaker 13: But we're also blaming the offensive coordinator for having bad
- 1:19:50Speaker 13: plays or whatever is whatever he's doing wrong. I don't know.
- 1:19:53Speaker 13: I'm just a football fan. But what did y'all think
- 1:19:56Speaker 13: it'd be worse if we start them this year? Sometimes
- 1:20:00Speaker 13: that's fine. They're firing fire the offensive coordinator. They're part
- 1:20:04Speaker 13: of the new offense COORDINATORD next year. Then it kind
- 1:20:07Speaker 13: of seems like we did Jets over again.
- 1:20:09Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I don't think I agree with that.
- 1:20:13Speaker 4: I mean, I don't think that's gonna happen. I don't
- 1:20:14Speaker 4: think Alex van Pelt's going to get for do you.
- 1:20:16Speaker 7: No?
- 1:20:17Speaker 6: No, not next, not this year, not after one?
- 1:20:19Speaker 3: Right, No, you can't judge him by this year.
- 1:20:23Speaker 4: I mean, well I could, but I don't think that
- 1:20:25Speaker 4: that will happen. I think I think they're sort of
- 1:20:27Speaker 4: doing what they thought they were going to be doing.
- 1:20:29Speaker 4: I think this is kind of part of a larger plan. Yeah,
- 1:20:32Speaker 4: bringing May along slowly.
- 1:20:35Speaker 3: Jason Minnesota, what's up? Jay?
- 1:20:38Speaker 11: Hello, guys. A couple of questions. So do you think
- 1:20:42Speaker 11: that Elliott Wolf maybe is kicking down that wide receiver
- 1:20:47Speaker 11: and tackle position down for next year to get some
- 1:20:50Speaker 11: young talent, because Jason Peters I heard got signed to
- 1:20:54Speaker 11: Seattle and Dadams we haven't even reached out, it seems like.
- 1:20:58Speaker 11: So I feel like we're kind of just worrying about
- 1:21:01Speaker 11: what's going on right now and then just worrying about
- 1:21:03Speaker 11: it next year.
- 1:21:05Speaker 3: Possibly.
- 1:21:05Speaker 11: Also, do you think there's yeah, do you think there's
- 1:21:08Speaker 11: any pressure from Robert Craft to maybe play may or
- 1:21:12Speaker 11: if there's any questions on like, all right, the product
- 1:21:16Speaker 11: doesn't look good while I'm not playing our number three
- 1:21:18Speaker 11: guy right now. I think how you get ready is
- 1:21:20Speaker 11: about playing. I don't think that you can get ready
- 1:21:23Speaker 11: by just sitting there and waiting and waiting and waiting.
- 1:21:25Speaker 11: I mean, like you said, Paul Aaron Rodgers went six
- 1:21:28Speaker 11: and eleven, right, and then the next year he did well.
- 1:21:30Speaker 11: I think that he got ready by playing.
- 1:21:32Speaker 4: Yeah, that's how I feel.
- 1:21:33Speaker 7: I hope, I hope exactly.
- 1:21:35Speaker 3: I hope there is no pressure either way to play
- 1:21:38Speaker 3: or not to play from ownership. That's not where we're
- 1:21:41Speaker 3: looking for now, I do.
- 1:21:43Speaker 26: I do.
- 1:21:45Speaker 3: I would imagine that maybe Robert Kraft stops down every
- 1:21:48Speaker 3: once in a while and says, oh, so, well, how's.
- 1:21:49Speaker 4: The kids, and maybe they're really living dangerous.
- 1:21:54Speaker 3: The last couple of shows, maybe through the questions he asks,
- 1:21:57Speaker 3: his opinion comes through whether or not should play. But
- 1:22:01Speaker 3: I hope that ownership is not putting pressure on these
- 1:22:06Speaker 3: this young staff or this new staff to do it
- 1:22:10Speaker 3: either way. You know, let them. You paid them to
- 1:22:14Speaker 3: do a job. Let them do their job.
- 1:22:15Speaker 9: And as far as everything Drat has said, that's how
- 1:22:18Speaker 9: it is.
- 1:22:19Speaker 20: It's every everything he said on the record is that
- 1:22:21Speaker 20: mister Craft is just letting them do their thing and
- 1:22:24Speaker 20: work it all out.
- 1:22:25Speaker 19: So yep, yeah, I mean not certainly, not after four games.
- 1:22:27Speaker 19: I mean I think maybe, you know, I mean, are
- 1:22:29Speaker 19: there are people out there that think, like Trick, they
- 1:22:30Speaker 19: can't play next season either? Like I don't know, I
- 1:22:32Speaker 19: haven't heard that yet, but I'm assuming there's probably somebody
- 1:22:34Speaker 19: out there.
- 1:22:35Speaker 9: You just put it out there.
- 1:22:36Speaker 4: Could you imagine, like Aaron Rodgers said, three full seasons?
- 1:22:39Speaker 4: Could you imagine if that happened.
- 1:22:41Speaker 5: I can't imagine that.
- 1:22:42Speaker 3: Well, it would be okay to tolerate if we had
- 1:22:45Speaker 3: Tom or Brett fav or whoever it is. You know,
- 1:22:50Speaker 3: that's the difference. We wouldn't be worried about it. Wow,
- 1:22:54Speaker 3: Let the kids sit, we're winning games, we're in the playoffs.
- 1:22:57Speaker 6: There's any chance that that's not the case.
- 1:22:59Speaker 19: If they resigned your colt next year for whatever purpose?
- 1:23:02Speaker 19: Like yeah, I mean is that a potential slides to
- 1:23:05Speaker 19: the backup role and likes being here kind of thing?
- 1:23:07Speaker 3: Maybe yeah, as long as yeah, why not?
- 1:23:10Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 1:23:11Speaker 4: I mean now I'm angry.
- 1:23:14Speaker 3: As a backup.
- 1:23:14Speaker 4: I don't want that.
- 1:23:16Speaker 3: No? Why not? Who you need a backup?
- 1:23:20Speaker 4: Joe Milton?
- 1:23:22Speaker 3: You need a backup?
- 1:23:24Speaker 4: I mean, why do they draft him if they don't
- 1:23:26Speaker 4: think he can eventually.
- 1:23:27Speaker 3: Be okay, veteran voice in the locker room?
- 1:23:31Speaker 6: Maybe yeah, No, I don't know if Prisetts at that point.
- 1:23:33Speaker 3: Like having Brian Hoyer on your staff. That's not a
- 1:23:36Speaker 3: that's a positive, you know, like why not have Brian Hoyer?
- 1:23:41Speaker 6: You know, That's why I asked. But I just I
- 1:23:43Speaker 6: feel like if May doesn't play all that much, no, no,
- 1:23:46Speaker 6: But and then.
- 1:23:47Speaker 4: It's rare, no, they like I'm showing growth alone.
- 1:23:52Speaker 19: Before free agency, they signed Yakobe Rissette to a you know,
- 1:23:54Speaker 19: a one year extension before free agency, and then people
- 1:23:58Speaker 19: start to say, well, maybe, you know, maybe they're not
- 1:24:00Speaker 19: so sure about Drake they want to have a little
- 1:24:01Speaker 19: bit of insurance, like you know, they they're not sure
- 1:24:03Speaker 19: if he's ready to say, I don't know. I mean,
- 1:24:04Speaker 19: that's you know how these things kind of tend a snowball.
- 1:24:07Speaker 4: Mike gets me in a dark place now and then
- 1:24:11Speaker 4: and then all of a sudden, it's not really where
- 1:24:12Speaker 4: we wanted it to be, not as much, and then
- 1:24:16Speaker 4: we're gonna do We're gonna do what we the comfortable thing.
- 1:24:18Speaker 5: If that happened, and we're going to go back to Jacob.
- 1:24:20Speaker 4: Is just going to start the season. I'm not I'm
- 1:24:24Speaker 4: not in Well, that's why I'm not in on it.
- 1:24:26Speaker 3: Okay, I don't think that would happen anyway. Cahoul and
- 1:24:29Speaker 3: Galway Ireland right, Sin, I'm not sure I agree that
- 1:24:33Speaker 3: this is a must win or an easy win against
- 1:24:35Speaker 3: the Dolphins. Mike said, I think it's pretty.
- 1:24:41Speaker 4: Close to a must win. I agree with Mike, But
- 1:24:43Speaker 4: I never ever did anybody on this show anyway say
- 1:24:46Speaker 4: it would be an easy one.
- 1:24:47Speaker 17: No.
- 1:24:48Speaker 19: In fact, I said, the hard part is having a
- 1:24:51Speaker 19: must win game that you don't really know what to
- 1:24:53Speaker 19: expect and the other team has the best weapons in
- 1:24:55Speaker 19: the game that can they they're the ones who can
- 1:24:57Speaker 19: affect the game instantly like this Patrio team. If the
- 1:25:01Speaker 19: game doesn't unfold the way that they get in a
- 1:25:02Speaker 19: little bit of a hole like it get, it gets
- 1:25:04Speaker 19: dicey really fast with this team, he said.
- 1:25:06Speaker 3: Granted, Miami have been terrible to start the year and
- 1:25:09Speaker 3: trying to come to terms with losing two of but
- 1:25:11Speaker 3: man for man, their starters are far more talented than
- 1:25:14Speaker 3: the Patriots start is with exception of a quarterback, where
- 1:25:17Speaker 3: the Patriots might have a small and I mean small advantage.
- 1:25:20Speaker 3: The Fins have underperformed so far, but I would be
- 1:25:23Speaker 3: much more confident of them reaching their level soon and
- 1:25:26Speaker 3: be more competitive then could that could easily happen this Sunday.
- 1:25:30Speaker 3: I think we all agree the Patriots have been broadly
- 1:25:33Speaker 3: what we expected, so no real expectation for improvement from
- 1:25:36Speaker 3: this level. Also, just based on the injuries that the
- 1:25:39Speaker 3: Patriots currently have on the old line and potentially with
- 1:25:42Speaker 3: the safeties and cornerbacks, I'm expecting regression, especially with Andrews out.
- 1:25:47Speaker 3: So to my mind, a win is not on the
- 1:25:50Speaker 3: cards at all, and a big beating could be on
- 1:25:53Speaker 3: the way.
- 1:25:53Speaker 4: I think we should play some of these emails and
- 1:25:55Speaker 4: phone calls for fellder and mocked and rink. You don't
- 1:25:59Speaker 4: get much negativity on that show.
- 1:26:01Speaker 6: It missed a bunch of idiots who live with their
- 1:26:03Speaker 6: heads underground and.
- 1:26:04Speaker 4: They watch the games, they analyze. They when they see
- 1:26:06Speaker 4: what they see the same thing you see. Yeah, the
- 1:26:13Speaker 4: the man for man thing with Miami. I I agree,
- 1:26:16Speaker 4: I think that you know, this is probably an edge,
- 1:26:19Speaker 4: but like Miami's offensive line is a mess too, just
- 1:26:21Speaker 4: like yours is. That's why they can't run the ball. Defensively,
- 1:26:25Speaker 4: they're not great to begin with. They've been missing a
- 1:26:28Speaker 4: lot of personnel. David Long missed the last game for them,
- 1:26:32Speaker 4: you know, much like Bentley has been out for the Patriots.
- 1:26:34Speaker 4: That's kind of similar kind of role. You know, Kalaias
- 1:26:38Speaker 4: Campbell is a really good player up front, but yeah,
- 1:26:41Speaker 4: he's a little long in the tooth. He's I don't
- 1:26:43Speaker 4: think he's going to dominate the way he say, like
- 1:26:44Speaker 4: Quentin Williams, did you know a couple of weeks ago
- 1:26:47Speaker 4: for the Jets. You know, Jalen Ramsey kind of similar.
- 1:26:50Speaker 4: I think he's a really good player, but I don't
- 1:26:52Speaker 4: think he's the same guy that he was, you know,
- 1:26:54Speaker 4: in his heyday. So yeah, I do think that probably
- 1:26:57Speaker 4: man for man, Miami has an edge of more spots
- 1:26:59Speaker 4: than the Patriots do, but it's not overwhelming without the
- 1:27:03Speaker 4: offense to bolster everything. And if you know, I read
- 1:27:07Speaker 4: you the numbers, thirty three points in four games.
- 1:27:10Speaker 19: To me, it just boils down to waddle on hill
- 1:27:11Speaker 19: and those two guys have the ability to impact the
- 1:27:13Speaker 19: game on one dumb play that didn't really pop up
- 1:27:17Speaker 19: for them last week. But it's you know, like I said,
- 1:27:19Speaker 19: it takes one brain fart by an undrafted Brookie named
- 1:27:22Speaker 19: del Patis who's playing all of a sudden on the
- 1:27:23Speaker 19: back end that he bites on something and it's six.
- 1:27:26Speaker 4: And I will say that the one thing that does
- 1:27:28Speaker 4: worry me is the whole like I have Geno Smith
- 1:27:31Speaker 4: in my head because I so dismissed Geno Smith going
- 1:27:34Speaker 4: into that Seattle game. And you know, Tyler Huntley is
- 1:27:38Speaker 4: not as good as Geno Smith, you know, even coming
- 1:27:42Speaker 4: when Gino Smith got to Seattle, Gino Smith was more
- 1:27:45Speaker 4: accomplished with the Jets than Tyler Huntley is. But to
- 1:27:49Speaker 4: your point, all it takes is one good game. You
- 1:27:51Speaker 4: know what if the problems with containing the edges continues
- 1:27:55Speaker 4: it's happened three weeks in a row. What if it
- 1:27:58Speaker 4: happens again and all of a sudden he's getting out
- 1:28:00Speaker 4: of the pocket, making place with his legs and throwing
- 1:28:03Speaker 4: the ball around.
- 1:28:04Speaker 3: You know, hey, have the buy started yet?
- 1:28:07Speaker 7: Yes?
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: They have?
- 1:28:08Speaker 3: Okay, so I'll do one more. Email Tyler from Providence.
- 1:28:11Speaker 3: This is a who oh wait a minute, hold on
- 1:28:14Speaker 3: whoa whoa hold? Hold hold on, hold on, Tyler and
- 1:28:17Speaker 3: preempted has returned practice and then has returned has turned practice?
- 1:28:31Speaker 3: All right?
- 1:28:32Speaker 5: Evan, Hello, Hello, hello, Hello. It's a lot longer these
- 1:28:35Speaker 5: days that were out there. I don't know what are
- 1:28:37Speaker 5: you doing out there anyways? Attendance wise, some somewhat good news.
- 1:28:42Speaker 5: Jabriel Peppers was back at practice, but don't get too
- 1:28:47Speaker 5: excited over there. So he was out there for stretching
- 1:28:50Speaker 5: and then he left.
- 1:28:52Speaker 6: We had a thing, it's all right, he's waiting.
- 1:28:54Speaker 5: For that's a go to see guy by a horse
- 1:28:56Speaker 5: or something.
- 1:28:57Speaker 4: But no, he he was.
- 1:29:00Speaker 5: We talked about to him a little bit in the
- 1:29:01Speaker 5: locker room, and you know, he didn't seem like too
- 1:29:05Speaker 5: worried that it's going to be long term. Kyle Duggart
- 1:29:08Speaker 5: not at practice still, that one sounds like it is going.
- 1:29:11Speaker 5: It's tenuous for Sunday, I would say. And then obviously
- 1:29:15Speaker 5: David Andrews and Kayden Wallace also missing for the Patriots.
- 1:29:20Speaker 5: David Andrews has been there physically, been there though.
- 1:29:23Speaker 3: I think he starts his coaching career.
- 1:29:25Speaker 5: Yeah, that's sort of the vibe that we've gotten as well.
- 1:29:29Speaker 5: Mayo made the comparison to his twenty fourteen season when
- 1:29:32Speaker 5: he was on injured reserve. This is the opportunity to
- 1:29:35Speaker 5: maybe see if you like coaching, you know, if this
- 1:29:38Speaker 5: is something that you want to do in the future.
- 1:29:40Speaker 3: Yep.
- 1:29:40Speaker 5: So that was attendance.
- 1:29:42Speaker 3: And then just obviously by not saying that we know
- 1:29:46Speaker 3: they're back, but Lowe's out there.
- 1:29:48Speaker 5: Yeah, So Loo and Michael Jordan were out there yesterday,
- 1:29:51Speaker 5: so we're born Taki, Taki, and Mapu. All three of
- 1:29:54Speaker 5: those guys are continuing to practice as well. And kJ
- 1:29:59Speaker 5: Osborn Horne was participating. He was a d MP yesterday,
- 1:30:04Speaker 5: which is a little bit surprising because he was out
- 1:30:06Speaker 5: there when we were out there. So he was participating
- 1:30:08Speaker 5: in individuals when they kicked us out.
- 1:30:11Speaker 3: So I noticed you came in here without your little windbreaker, correct,
- 1:30:14Speaker 3: So I whether it's a little nicer. Is that disrespectful
- 1:30:19Speaker 3: spirits of you know, both the players and the media back.
- 1:30:25Speaker 5: It's tough because we're in that part of the season
- 1:30:28Speaker 5: where is it hotter or is it cold? You don't know,
- 1:30:33Speaker 5: or a sweatshirt and like too soon when you get
- 1:30:36Speaker 5: out there. It was like seventy degrees out there right now,
- 1:30:38Speaker 5: so it's it's nice out Yeah, it's nice. Yeah, it
- 1:30:41Speaker 5: was a little little hot.
- 1:30:42Speaker 4: What was what was the offensive line?
- 1:30:45Speaker 5: So they were doing a little bit more mixing and
- 1:30:47Speaker 5: matching today than what we saw yesterday. Seemed like some
- 1:30:50Speaker 5: of those guys Leverett, Leyden Robinson popped up on the
- 1:30:54Speaker 5: injury report, so they didn't do as much yesterday. Today
- 1:30:58Speaker 5: we saw Leverett snapping a lot in the media portion,
- 1:31:02Speaker 5: so he looks like he's he's back in that center
- 1:31:06Speaker 5: one spot, and then Leyden Robinson was getting some reps
- 1:31:09Speaker 5: next to him at right guard, so between him and city.
- 1:31:13Speaker 5: So that still feels like it's a little bit up
- 1:31:15Speaker 5: in the air which direction they're going to go in.
- 1:31:17Speaker 5: But the rest of it was the same. Low Jordan Leverett,
- 1:31:22Speaker 5: right guard, Yeah.
- 1:31:25Speaker 3: He's Robinson, okay, And any issues with the media, anything
- 1:31:33Speaker 3: that they need to get off their chest or.
- 1:31:36Speaker 5: No, no, no issues today. You know, we have this
- 1:31:40Speaker 5: new structure of take attendance during stretching. Then they kick
- 1:31:44Speaker 5: us out for a period and then we get to
- 1:31:45Speaker 5: come back for a period. So that's why it takes
- 1:31:48Speaker 5: so long and you know, to get through everything, but
- 1:31:52Speaker 5: it's been worth it. We get to see the offensive
- 1:31:54Speaker 5: line combination, which is obviously a huge story right now.
- 1:31:57Speaker 3: Mark Daniel's on the radio this morning, and I guess
- 1:31:59Speaker 3: he's given credit for breaking the David Andrews news.
- 1:32:03Speaker 5: Okay, is that right? Good for him?
- 1:32:06Speaker 3: I mean that was the Paulest thing ever. Okay, Okay,
- 1:32:11Speaker 3: in this day and age, with this new regime, like
- 1:32:14Speaker 3: they'll tell you what's going on, you don't have to
- 1:32:16Speaker 3: break anything, you know.
- 1:32:17Speaker 4: Well, I'm not sure they would have said what they
- 1:32:20Speaker 4: said the press conference if it hadn't been out there.
- 1:32:22Speaker 4: I think Girodd said specifically, well it's out there now.
- 1:32:25Speaker 3: So anyway, okay, all right, so try to be a reporter.
- 1:32:30Speaker 4: Fred, is that time of the week, the month, what happened?
- 1:32:40Speaker 3: What's going on with it?
- 1:32:42Speaker 5: Curious?
- 1:32:45Speaker 4: So a little bit of order restoration is what I
- 1:32:49Speaker 4: would say, Paul, Fred and Paul eleven and five.
- 1:32:55Speaker 6: Why I was a little bit of order. It wasn't
- 1:32:57Speaker 6: order being reduced.
- 1:32:58Speaker 4: Correct correct, Plus it hasn't been completely restored. I have
- 1:33:02Speaker 4: still I have some catching up to you. Alex and
- 1:33:06Speaker 4: Evan nine and seven and Mike eight and eight.
- 1:33:11Speaker 3: Terrible, you're not good at this.
- 1:33:14Speaker 4: And Fred with the spread Paul ten and six. He's
- 1:33:20Speaker 4: followed by Alex and Evan at nine and seven and
- 1:33:25Speaker 4: Mike and Fred at seven and nine. So here are
- 1:33:28Speaker 4: the current standings. Alex and Paul thirty six and twenty eight.
- 1:33:36Speaker 4: It's really bad, by the way, that's the best record
- 1:33:38Speaker 4: we have just picking winners. That's not everybody shape it up.
- 1:33:43Speaker 20: Yeah, but if there's a person out there that has
- 1:33:45Speaker 20: a survivor pool that's still like intact, they shouldn't.
- 1:33:48Speaker 4: Wow. Not that just joking around. Fred thirty five and
- 1:33:55Speaker 4: twenty nine, So only one game off the pace, Evan
- 1:33:59Speaker 4: thirty four thirty and Mike thirty three and thirty one.
- 1:34:04Speaker 4: Four weeks of just making winners.
- 1:34:07Speaker 5: What's the term.
- 1:34:10Speaker 4: Quite bet against Mike? So with the spread, yeah, fade
- 1:34:16Speaker 4: deuce with the spread. Fred is still on top, but
- 1:34:22Speaker 4: he has company now. Fred, Alex and Evan all at
- 1:34:27Speaker 4: thirty four twenty eight and two, followed by Mike at
- 1:34:31Speaker 4: thirty one thirty one and two and Paul thirty thirty
- 1:34:36Speaker 4: two in two. So I am still in last place,
- 1:34:39Speaker 4: but coming up. Those are the footsteps.
- 1:34:43Speaker 3: You're here, We're here in the foot size, all right,
- 1:34:46Speaker 3: teams on the fib to get real. There's four teams
- 1:34:48Speaker 3: on buys this week. The Lions, the Chargers, the Eagles,
- 1:34:52Speaker 3: oh my Titans. So you won't be hearing them mentioned.
- 1:34:56Speaker 3: Let's go to tonight. We have to hurry. On fifteen
- 1:35:00Speaker 3: on Prime Video. It's the three and one Buccaneers against
- 1:35:04Speaker 3: the two and two Falcons.
- 1:35:07Speaker 4: The Falcons by one and a half.
- 1:35:10Speaker 19: One and a Hey, I'm gonna go with the Tampa
- 1:35:14Speaker 19: Bay Bucks. Somebody bounced back a little bit last week.
- 1:35:17Speaker 19: I'm gonna take Tampa and I will grab that point
- 1:35:20Speaker 19: one point five please.
- 1:35:24Speaker 9: Hmm. Yeah, I'm gonna go with the Bucks as well.
- 1:35:28Speaker 5: Now I'm worried that Dud's picked the Bucks, so I know,
- 1:35:30Speaker 5: I'm just kid. I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go with
- 1:35:33Speaker 5: the Baker Bucks. I'm just I am not sold on
- 1:35:35Speaker 5: Atlanta yet. I'm not buying it yet.
- 1:35:39Speaker 4: I'm gonna take the home team Atlanta. I think the
- 1:35:42Speaker 4: Thursday night home thing is legit, so I'm gonna do that.
- 1:35:46Speaker 4: But I do feel like I've given away a lot
- 1:35:48Speaker 4: of these Thursday night games. I can't get my week
- 1:35:50Speaker 4: off to a good start. But I'm gonna take the Falcons.
- 1:35:53Speaker 3: No, Paul's right, Falcons win. Not only is it a Thursday,
- 1:35:57Speaker 3: but it's the divisional game, and you gotta kind of
- 1:36:00Speaker 3: look at these differently a little bit. So I look
- 1:36:03Speaker 3: at the Falcons.
- 1:36:04Speaker 4: Baker are not going to be baking tonight.
- 1:36:06Speaker 3: No, it's not a matter of Baker Baker because as
- 1:36:09Speaker 3: we know, the league is better with a minute. But
- 1:36:11Speaker 3: I think the Falcons pull off this divisional win. All right.
- 1:36:14Speaker 3: So now Sunday, nine to thirty in the morning, Eastern
- 1:36:19Speaker 3: Time on NFL Network.
- 1:36:21Speaker 4: Which you guys figured that out. There will be some
- 1:36:24Speaker 4: red zone action fall on the pregame and post.
- 1:36:28Speaker 3: It's the two and two Jets against the four and
- 1:36:31Speaker 3: oh Vikings. And I'm assuming this is in London.
- 1:36:35Speaker 4: It is, it's at the the other one, not Tottenham
- 1:36:40Speaker 4: Hot Spur, Vikings by two and a half.
- 1:36:45Speaker 5: All right.
- 1:36:45Speaker 19: I saw, unfortunately, our friend Evan getting a little roasted
- 1:36:48Speaker 19: online about freezing hot tastes exposed Evan. Evan said, oh,
- 1:36:52Speaker 19: Sam Darnold is eventually going to fall apart, which still
- 1:36:54Speaker 19: very well could be true.
- 1:36:55Speaker 6: Everyone's just like last four weeks.
- 1:36:59Speaker 3: The exact phrase was s the bed.
- 1:37:02Speaker 5: Taking picture your laps in week four.
- 1:37:05Speaker 6: But I don't I'm not gonna say it's this week.
- 1:37:07Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:37:07Speaker 6: There's something just off with the Jets. For me, I'm
- 1:37:10Speaker 6: gonna go with the Minnesota lay the points.
- 1:37:16Speaker 20: Sam Donald has been burning me, but I don't know.
- 1:37:21Speaker 20: Jets probably have a quicker flight to London. Minnesota's just
- 1:37:26Speaker 20: I feel like they gotta lose at some point, right, No,
- 1:37:29Speaker 20: I'm gonna I'm gonna pick Minnesota.
- 1:37:35Speaker 5: Today.
- 1:37:36Speaker 9: The Jets cover.
- 1:37:38Speaker 4: Oh, the Jets cover.
- 1:37:39Speaker 5: So last week I get old takes exposed and then
- 1:37:42Speaker 5: I'm watching the box score, Donald interception, Donald fumble. All
- 1:37:48Speaker 5: of a sudden, the Packers come back, and I'm like,
- 1:37:50Speaker 5: maybe spoke a little too soon there, old takes exposed.
- 1:37:53Speaker 5: How about that? I want to see you old take exposed.
- 1:37:58Speaker 4: With more people than I do.
- 1:38:00Speaker 5: I was really if they had if the Packers had
- 1:38:02Speaker 5: come back and won that game, you know exactly what
- 1:38:04Speaker 5: I was doing. Quote tweet.
- 1:38:06Speaker 4: Oh yeah, good job.
- 1:38:07Speaker 5: I was hoping for it. And on that note, I'm
- 1:38:10Speaker 5: going to go with the Jets. I just think that
- 1:38:13Speaker 5: they're going to travel a little bit better in this game,
- 1:38:15Speaker 5: and the Minnesota has got to lose at some point.
- 1:38:17Speaker 5: They're not going to go.
- 1:38:19Speaker 4: Yeah, the last thing that Evan said is what I'm
- 1:38:21Speaker 4: going with. I just I think the Vikings are a
- 1:38:23Speaker 4: great story. I think they're a pretty good team. I'm
- 1:38:25Speaker 4: not sure they are five and o team. They got
- 1:38:27Speaker 4: to lose at some point. I'm going to take the
- 1:38:28Speaker 4: Jets to bounce back.
- 1:38:29Speaker 3: Yeah, believe it or not, I am too. I'm going
- 1:38:31Speaker 3: to take the Jets to win. Aaron Rodgers playing in Minnesota.
- 1:38:36Speaker 3: He's played Minnesota a few.
- 1:38:37Speaker 6: Times he has played.
- 1:38:39Speaker 4: Has he played him in London? But I don't know. Yeah,
- 1:38:44Speaker 4: I'm not going to say he hasn't because I don't know.
- 1:38:47Speaker 3: So I will go with the Jets. Fox one o'clock,
- 1:38:52Speaker 3: the one and three Panthers are at the two and
- 1:38:55Speaker 3: two Bears.
- 1:38:58Speaker 4: Chicago by four.
- 1:39:00Speaker 27: Four.
- 1:39:01Speaker 19: I think the Indie Dalton Magic ran out last week.
- 1:39:05Speaker 19: I'm gonna I'm just gonna go with the home team here.
- 1:39:07Speaker 19: Caleb Williams continuing show some growth even if he's not
- 1:39:10Speaker 19: putting up high production.
- 1:39:11Speaker 6: So I'm gonna go with the home team.
- 1:39:13Speaker 9: Chicago, Chicago, Chicago.
- 1:39:19Speaker 5: I'm gonna go with the home team. But I'm gonna
- 1:39:21Speaker 5: take those points for the Panthers. I don't think either
- 1:39:24Speaker 5: one of these lout of respect for the Pants. I
- 1:39:25Speaker 5: don't think either one of these teams is very good
- 1:39:27Speaker 5: right now. Chicago might be at some point, So I'm
- 1:39:30Speaker 5: gonna say three point win for the Bears.
- 1:39:34Speaker 4: I'm tempted to do the same, but I'm not going to.
- 1:39:36Speaker 4: I'm gonna take Chicago both ways. I think the Panthers
- 1:39:39Speaker 4: offense has looked good in both games that Dalton has played,
- 1:39:43Speaker 4: but al I'm gonna take I'm gonna take the Bears.
- 1:39:46Speaker 3: Yeah, money line parlay looks good here, so I will
- 1:39:49Speaker 3: take the Bears both ways.
- 1:39:52Speaker 7: I don't know what that mean.
- 1:39:53Speaker 3: That was awesome. Nothing.
- 1:39:55Speaker 4: I don't know that was awesome.
- 1:39:57Speaker 6: Mine was nonverbal. It was a nonverbal reaction.
- 1:40:00Speaker 3: Uh, CBS one o'clock the two and two Ravens. Who
- 1:40:05Speaker 3: much respect to the Ravens for your last two wins?
- 1:40:09Speaker 3: H two and two Ravens at the one in three Bengals.
- 1:40:14Speaker 4: Yeah, John, Yeah, yeah, no, Fred Yeah, Fred's okay. I'll
- 1:40:19Speaker 4: let him know. John Harbos is, thank you appreciates the support.
- 1:40:24Speaker 3: Tell him, of course, because that's what the kids say.
- 1:40:29Speaker 3: The kids these days, they don't say you're welcome anymore.
- 1:40:32Speaker 3: They just say of course, right, I have noticed that
- 1:40:36Speaker 3: say that of course.
- 1:40:37Speaker 5: Of course I take that.
- 1:40:39Speaker 20: I waitress with a girl who someone was like, see
- 1:40:43Speaker 20: she got like in trouble from this older woman for saying.
- 1:40:46Speaker 9: Of course, Karen, Karen.
- 1:40:49Speaker 3: Oh. The wait staff do it all the time.
- 1:40:51Speaker 20: They all say of course, Well it's like of course,
- 1:40:54Speaker 20: like it's no issue, like I'm happy to do this.
- 1:40:56Speaker 3: No, but acknowledge that I thanked. You don't say of course,
- 1:40:59Speaker 3: like I shouldn't think.
- 1:41:00Speaker 9: What do you say back to thank you?
- 1:41:02Speaker 3: You're welcome?
- 1:41:02Speaker 9: Welcome of course, so like you're welcome.
- 1:41:05Speaker 6: It's the same thing generation you're welcome even like of.
- 1:41:09Speaker 5: Course it's my job to do this, right, but I'm
- 1:41:12Speaker 5: going to I still want to thank you your drink
- 1:41:14Speaker 5: because you ordered it.
- 1:41:15Speaker 3: I still yeah, I know, I know what's your job,
- 1:41:17Speaker 3: but I still want to thank you.
- 1:41:19Speaker 5: What about worries, No worries kind of.
- 1:41:21Speaker 4: Bugs me, No worries, no wor to admit I do
- 1:41:24Speaker 4: no worries in a text.
- 1:41:25Speaker 3: A lot, and here I'm not worried, right, I just
- 1:41:29Speaker 3: want to thank you well.
- 1:41:32Speaker 9: Generation don't worry about it.
- 1:41:33Speaker 3: No worries about It's not a problem that I thank you.
- 1:41:38Speaker 5: I don't.
- 1:41:38Speaker 4: I don't want to, I would say anyway, the Ravens
- 1:41:43Speaker 4: by two and a half on the road, Yeah, I'm
- 1:41:45Speaker 4: gonna I'm gonna stick with Baltimore the way they're playing
- 1:41:48Speaker 4: right now.
- 1:41:48Speaker 19: Cincinnati trying to find spark after last week, build on it,
- 1:41:52Speaker 19: but I don't think it happens against the division.
- 1:41:54Speaker 6: I'll take Baltimore.
- 1:41:56Speaker 20: Yeah, Baltimore, Baltimore. I very much enjoy watching Lamarch Accident
- 1:42:00Speaker 20: Derek Henry played together.
- 1:42:02Speaker 5: I did like Joe Burrow came out pretty fired up
- 1:42:05Speaker 5: yesterday and it was like, I gotta beat the Ravens
- 1:42:07Speaker 5: like they have my number. But I'm gonna go Baltimore here.
- 1:42:11Speaker 5: I just I think they're starting to roll a little bit.
- 1:42:13Speaker 4: I think Evan might have just changed my pick so that, like,
- 1:42:16Speaker 4: I is there a thing that I that I was
- 1:42:18Speaker 4: not aware of.
- 1:42:18Speaker 6: I think he's implying that the Ravens owned the Bengals.
- 1:42:22Speaker 5: That's what it was implying he he came out in
- 1:42:24Speaker 5: this press conference and was like, I gotta beat Baltimore.
- 1:42:27Speaker 5: So it kind of felt like that I have I
- 1:42:29Speaker 5: don't have any data to put too much on it.
- 1:42:31Speaker 5: See if I can look it up real quick.
- 1:42:33Speaker 4: You know what, I'm gonna roll the dice anyway. I'm
- 1:42:35Speaker 4: gonna take Cincinnati. Uh, the home dog to me. I
- 1:42:41Speaker 4: don't know if you heard this one before. Bark's loudest.
- 1:42:44Speaker 4: That dog barks.
- 1:42:47Speaker 5: Yeah, he's lost three of the last four and two
- 1:42:49Speaker 5: in a row.
- 1:42:50Speaker 4: That's unfortunate.
- 1:42:51Speaker 3: The Bees after the Bengals.
- 1:42:54Speaker 4: The Bengals, Bro, you were determined to all of us
- 1:43:01Speaker 4: in trouble.
- 1:43:02Speaker 3: Yeah, no way, Ravens. Both ways. Let's go CBS one o'clock.
- 1:43:09Speaker 3: The three and one Bills are at the three and
- 1:43:11Speaker 3: one Texans.
- 1:43:13Speaker 4: This should be a good game. The Bills by one.
- 1:43:17Speaker 5: Heck of a game.
- 1:43:18Speaker 4: Heck of a game.
- 1:43:19Speaker 5: Love it.
- 1:43:20Speaker 19: I see they're talking about a Stefan Digg's revenge game.
- 1:43:22Speaker 19: I didn't have a chance to read the article. I
- 1:43:24Speaker 19: guess there's the inside the divorce article.
- 1:43:26Speaker 6: By Jeremy Fowler.
- 1:43:27Speaker 4: I did not read it.
- 1:43:28Speaker 19: I'm okay, yeah, an any good inside of what a
- 1:43:31Speaker 19: jerk hole Stefan dig that's right, that's right.
- 1:43:34Speaker 5: You heard it here first.
- 1:43:35Speaker 6: Can you call John Harbo back and tell him I
- 1:43:36Speaker 6: said that I'm gonna go. It's just tough one. I'm
- 1:43:40Speaker 6: gonna go with with Houston at home though, Home Dogs.
- 1:43:43Speaker 5: What did you say? Home dogs? Barked the loudest, so correct.
- 1:43:48Speaker 9: I think Buffalo bounces back after the loss last week.
- 1:43:51Speaker 9: Buffalo Buffalo.
- 1:43:53Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm with Alex on this at the one o'clock game.
- 1:43:55Speaker 5: Not as many eyeballs on the Bills. I think they
- 1:43:58Speaker 5: bounce back.
- 1:44:00Speaker 4: Like the Bills in this one too. Houston I think
- 1:44:02Speaker 4: is good, but I think they've sort of been given
- 1:44:06Speaker 4: a spot that they haven't risen to yet. Yeah, sort
- 1:44:09Speaker 4: of perception wise. You know, they were life and death
- 1:44:13Speaker 4: with a winless team last week.
- 1:44:15Speaker 3: They're knocking on the door, but they're not a Yeah,
- 1:44:18Speaker 3: so I'm gonna take.
- 1:44:19Speaker 4: The Bills to bout it said that Houston.
- 1:44:22Speaker 7: Window.
- 1:44:23Speaker 3: Texans Paul knows what this means.
- 1:44:27Speaker 4: It means I dream, I dream of Genie disappears.
- 1:44:32Speaker 3: I'm taking the Texans uh CBS one o'clock. The two
- 1:44:35Speaker 3: and two Colts are at the oh and four Jackuars.
- 1:44:40Speaker 4: Jacksonville by three, and this is one the Jaguars own
- 1:44:45Speaker 4: the Colts that one I'm aware of.
- 1:44:48Speaker 5: It's a really hard game.
- 1:44:49Speaker 3: To health status of Anthony Richardson, I do not know.
- 1:44:54Speaker 4: I did not know until this very day.
- 1:44:57Speaker 5: He's banged up, but he's gonna go.
- 1:44:59Speaker 6: But I I don't know.
- 1:45:01Speaker 19: I just I haven't seen enough of Jacksonville because he
- 1:45:02Speaker 19: can maybe tell from my picks. But I'm gonna go
- 1:45:04Speaker 19: with Jacksonville at home to hold indies just seems so
- 1:45:08Speaker 19: up and down.
- 1:45:11Speaker 9: Yeah, on the basis that I feel like Jacksonville has
- 1:45:13Speaker 9: to win a game at some point. I think it's sweet.
- 1:45:17Speaker 9: But I'll let the Colts cover.
- 1:45:20Speaker 5: Oh you're gonna let them cover.
- 1:45:22Speaker 9: Allow them they want, only if they want.
- 1:45:26Speaker 5: So Anthony Richardson is that practice. But he's banged up
- 1:45:28Speaker 5: and he's getting defensive about his injury prone labab. So
- 1:45:34Speaker 5: that's where we're apt. I'm gonna go Jacksonville too. I
- 1:45:38Speaker 5: think they're not gonna go oh in seventeen, just like
- 1:45:41Speaker 5: I said the Vikings aren't gonna go seventeen and oh,
- 1:45:43Speaker 5: so I'll take the Jaguars.
- 1:45:45Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna stick with the Trent the AFC cellth
- 1:45:47Speaker 4: trend that Jacksonville has on them, So I'll take Jacksonville too.
- 1:45:51Speaker 3: I'm going to go Jacksonville. I think Lawrence played better
- 1:45:54Speaker 3: last week, even in the loss, but I will take
- 1:45:57Speaker 3: the points just to hedge my bet.
- 1:46:00Speaker 6: Would you trade Drake May for Trevor Lawrence right now?
- 1:46:03Speaker 3: I might.
- 1:46:05Speaker 6: Going back to the magic.
- 1:46:06Speaker 3: I wouldn't know.
- 1:46:07Speaker 4: And I like Trevor Lawrence. I agree with fred. I
- 1:46:09Speaker 4: don't think he has been quote capital t capital p
- 1:46:13Speaker 4: the problem. There's more stuff going on with him. I mean,
- 1:46:17Speaker 4: it might be his fault with the static between he
- 1:46:20Speaker 4: and Peterson, but that's to me the bigger issue than
- 1:46:23Speaker 4: his play. But he hasn't played well. Not trying to
- 1:46:26Speaker 4: say he had no he has.
- 1:46:28Speaker 3: I like Trevor Lawrence, but he has not played well
- 1:46:30Speaker 3: to turnovers, Fox Hunt one one in three Browns with
- 1:46:34Speaker 3: dew Wash Watson against the three and one Commanders.
- 1:46:38Speaker 4: Rookie of the Month Washington by three and a half.
- 1:46:43Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:46:43Speaker 19: I mean, I do think Jane Dale's gonna have a
- 1:46:44Speaker 19: game where he struggles a little bit, but I and
- 1:46:48Speaker 19: I'd like to say, I think it's Cleveland's defense, who
- 1:46:50Speaker 19: is pretty good, pretty aggressive shoot but I'm not gonna
- 1:46:54Speaker 19: do it this week.
- 1:46:54Speaker 6: I'm gonna take Washington.
- 1:46:55Speaker 5: I don't love it.
- 1:46:56Speaker 19: I like Cleveland's defense. I think they'll make it hard
- 1:46:58Speaker 19: on him, but I'm gonna take a Washington. I'll take
- 1:47:00Speaker 19: the hook though for Cleveland, keeping.
- 1:47:02Speaker 4: Good use of the hook.
- 1:47:03Speaker 5: Mike, I'm I'm going to do the same thing. I
- 1:47:08Speaker 5: am tempted to take Cleveland because of the defense against
- 1:47:11Speaker 5: the rookie quarterback, but I don't have this stumbling for it.
- 1:47:16Speaker 5: I'm taking Washington. I think Daniels looks great. It's not
- 1:47:18Speaker 5: gonna take the Commandos.
- 1:47:20Speaker 4: So I am gonna this is my listen, promise, this
- 1:47:23Speaker 4: is the last week. Hey, I think more of the
- 1:47:26Speaker 4: Browns than they've shown, and be I just can't imagine
- 1:47:29Speaker 4: that Washington is just this good, magically, this fast. That's
- 1:47:34Speaker 4: what I thought last week, and they put forty two
- 1:47:36Speaker 4: up in the desert.
- 1:47:37Speaker 19: Right.
- 1:47:38Speaker 4: I'm gonna take Cleveland. I don't know why, but this
- 1:47:40Speaker 4: is it. I promise Jayden and Daniels, this is it.
- 1:47:42Speaker 4: I will You'll have me if you prove me.
- 1:47:46Speaker 6: He just texted me.
- 1:47:49Speaker 4: Promise, promise.
- 1:47:51Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna take the Browns too, you know, I
- 1:47:54Speaker 3: just think that, Uh, he's gonna have ups and downs.
- 1:47:58Speaker 3: Jade Daniels, maybe this is a down week. I don't know.
- 1:48:01Speaker 3: I don't know either.
- 1:48:03Speaker 5: I definitely, like Paul.
- 1:48:04Speaker 3: Said, like if the kid doesn't, kudos to him. All
- 1:48:07Speaker 3: Right now, we're gonna skip over the Patriots at one
- 1:48:10Speaker 3: o'clock and we're gonna go to four oh five. The
- 1:48:13Speaker 3: two and two Raiders are at the two and two Broncos.
- 1:48:17Speaker 4: Broncos by two and a half.
- 1:48:19Speaker 19: Oh man, I mean, oh man, I'd like to know
- 1:48:22Speaker 19: what the what the temperature test is right now? With
- 1:48:24Speaker 19: DeVante Adams wanting out, how are we feeling in Vegas
- 1:48:28Speaker 19: right now? Where the Raiders all still bought in ready
- 1:48:30Speaker 19: to go to Denver and play in that elevation. It's
- 1:48:32Speaker 19: pretty tough, you know there, but bo Nicks throwing picks,
- 1:48:36Speaker 19: he's not good.
- 1:48:37Speaker 6: I'm gonna go with a Vegas I don't know. I mean,
- 1:48:39Speaker 6: it's just on Vegas. It's a hard one. What was
- 1:48:42Speaker 6: the line, two and a half. Yeah, I'll take Vegas hunderdogs.
- 1:48:49Speaker 9: I'm going to go to the home team, Denver.
- 1:48:52Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:48:52Speaker 5: I think Denver's defense is playing really well. I'm gonna
- 1:48:55Speaker 5: go Denver. Denver on this one. The Raiders are they're
- 1:48:57Speaker 5: the Titanic right now, they're they might be.
- 1:49:01Speaker 4: I know, yeah, I'm going to take Denver both ways. Also,
- 1:49:05Speaker 4: I think both teams stink and I'd go with the
- 1:49:07Speaker 4: home team in those situations.
- 1:49:09Speaker 3: In general, this is your lock of the week. Oh,
- 1:49:12Speaker 3: it'll be easy for the Broncos. And you know what else?
- 1:49:15Speaker 3: One you know what else is easy?
- 1:49:17Speaker 5: Bud Light.
- 1:49:17Speaker 3: Bud Light, It's easy to drink, it's easy to enjoy.
- 1:49:20Speaker 3: Bud Light is the official beer sponsor of the New
- 1:49:22Speaker 3: England Patriots. And while I have you, Massachusetts is made

- 1:49:37Speaker 3: is made possible. Plan your trip at visit m A
- 1:49:41Speaker 3: dot com.
- 1:49:42Speaker 4: So did you take the Broncos in that game?
- 1:49:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I said it's it's the lack of the week.
- 1:49:48Speaker 19: Is that going to be a part of the newsletter too?
- 1:49:49Speaker 19: Like you know, we get like a little bit like
- 1:49:53Speaker 19: maybe like dressed up like a gambling guy, like you know,
- 1:49:55Speaker 19: like Freddy's.
- 1:50:01Speaker 5: Disclaimer.
- 1:50:02Speaker 6: The one and three.
- 1:50:03Speaker 3: Cardinals are at the two and two forty.
- 1:50:06Speaker 4: Niners by seven, which is the biggest spread of the week.
- 1:50:12Speaker 19: This is the biggest spread of the week. And yeah,
- 1:50:14Speaker 19: I impressed with San Francisco. I didn't even think they
- 1:50:17Speaker 19: played all that great, but they still managed to handle the.
- 1:50:20Speaker 6: Patriots pretty easily. I'm gonna take San Francisco. But division game,
- 1:50:24Speaker 6: Kyler Murray, they're kind of explosive. I'm gonna I'm gonna
- 1:50:27Speaker 6: take the points.
- 1:50:27Speaker 3: I think it'll be closer than that.
- 1:50:29Speaker 9: Yeah, the spread's too big for me too. I'm doing
- 1:50:32Speaker 9: the same thing Mike.
- 1:50:33Speaker 5: Is Niners role Niners Niners.
- 1:50:37Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna go Niners both ways too. I was
- 1:50:41Speaker 4: disappointed with the Cardinals last week. They didn't really didn't
- 1:50:44Speaker 4: really put up much of a fight. I'll take Theniners.
- 1:50:47Speaker 3: I'm gonna take the Cardinals to win outright. Yep. NNC
- 1:50:50Speaker 3: West game.
- 1:50:52Speaker 4: Now that is an upset. I'm like the normal upsets that.
- 1:50:57Speaker 3: After the game, I was listening to like a local
- 1:51:00Speaker 3: broadcast radio broadcast of forty nine Ers and they were like,
- 1:51:03Speaker 3: forty nine didn't play well today. They have problems.
- 1:51:06Speaker 4: They didn't.
- 1:51:06Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, so very patriot.
- 1:51:08Speaker 3: I think that those problems roll into this week, and
- 1:51:11Speaker 3: I think the Cardinals catch them at the right time.
- 1:51:13Speaker 5: We won by thirty, but we stink.
- 1:51:15Speaker 4: Well, I didn't say they stunk, but they didn't play great.
- 1:51:18Speaker 3: On CBS, the two and two Packers are at the
- 1:51:21Speaker 3: one in three. Stafford Perillo rams.
- 1:51:25Speaker 4: The lar I don't even know who's playing for the
- 1:51:29Speaker 4: Lar getting three at home green Bay.
- 1:51:32Speaker 3: By three, Well you get three for being at home.
- 1:51:34Speaker 4: Yeah, so they're underdogs by three.
- 1:51:36Speaker 3: Oh it's even now.
- 1:51:37Speaker 5: Now they're underdogs by six.
- 1:51:39Speaker 4: Six. Thank you, thank you, thank you? Yeah, how's this
- 1:51:44Speaker 4: my blood pressure to just race? Yeah?
- 1:51:47Speaker 19: I tried to go with green Bay last week. It
- 1:51:49Speaker 19: didn't work out, but I'll you're right. It's hard to
- 1:51:53Speaker 19: underrate Stafford though, Like I feel like he's still good
- 1:51:55Speaker 19: enough that he can change a game. But I'll go
- 1:51:57Speaker 19: with green Bay on the road and I'll lay the points.
- 1:52:01Speaker 9: Go pack go.
- 1:52:02Speaker 5: I was literally gonna say the same.
- 1:52:05Speaker 9: We sit next to each other now, so go packed up.
- 1:52:07Speaker 5: I feel like when I watched the Packers, I'm hopefully
- 1:52:10Speaker 5: watching the Patriots future unfold right before my baby. So
- 1:52:15Speaker 5: I'm like, if the Packers win, that means good news
- 1:52:17Speaker 5: for the Patriots long term. So I'm a Packers fan.
- 1:52:20Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna take the Packers. This will be a
- 1:52:22Speaker 4: home game for them. I'm sure they'll have you know, yeah,
- 1:52:25Speaker 4: thousands of cheeseheads. Just the Rams have nothing. They're going
- 1:52:32Speaker 4: into these games with absolutely nothing to punch back with,
- 1:52:34Speaker 4: not even to too Karen Williams, I will talk about it.
- 1:52:38Speaker 3: I will go with the Packers as well. Four on CBS,
- 1:52:42Speaker 3: the one and three Giants are at the three and
- 1:52:44Speaker 3: one Seahawks.
- 1:52:45Speaker 4: Seahawks by six and a half.
- 1:52:47Speaker 5: Oh that's a big one. But y'all know me. I'm
- 1:52:51Speaker 5: not afraid to pick Seattle at home. Big.
- 1:52:53Speaker 19: It's a tough place to play. Giants gotta go all
- 1:52:56Speaker 19: the way across the country. They got some questions. I'm
- 1:52:58Speaker 19: gonna take Seattle. I'm gonna lay the point.
- 1:52:59Speaker 5: Seattle bag.
- 1:53:01Speaker 9: Yeah, double Seahawks.
- 1:53:04Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm doing the same thing. Number one offense in
- 1:53:06Speaker 5: the league in DVOA, the Seattle Seahawks right now, best
- 1:53:09Speaker 5: offense in football statistically, So they're gonna put up some
- 1:53:13Speaker 5: points every day.
- 1:53:13Speaker 6: Smith.
- 1:53:15Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean listen, I stand by my bad takes.
- 1:53:19Speaker 4: I said that a couple of weeks ago, and he's
- 1:53:21Speaker 4: played great.
- 1:53:21Speaker 6: That's supposed to me. I had no take on him,
- 1:53:23Speaker 6: so I can't.
- 1:53:24Speaker 4: I uh, I don't try to pretend it. I didn't
- 1:53:27Speaker 4: say things. That's what I mean, like they do on
- 1:53:30Speaker 4: the radio. Seahawks, I'll take both ways.
- 1:53:33Speaker 3: Yeah, me too, Seahawks both ways. Sunday Night, eight twenty
- 1:53:38Speaker 3: on NBC, Universo and Telexeitos, the two and two Cowboys
- 1:53:43Speaker 3: are at the three and one Steeler.
- 1:53:46Speaker 4: Usually this is what we usually say.
- 1:53:47Speaker 5: In Peacocks and m Peacock for us.
- 1:53:51Speaker 4: Nice seventies throwback game right here, Fred. When I think
- 1:53:54Speaker 4: of Dallas and Pittsburgh, I think of Super.
- 1:53:56Speaker 5: Bowl teams that used to be getting thirteen.
- 1:54:02Speaker 4: Pittsburgh by two and a half.
- 1:54:04Speaker 19: I had like that old Pittsburgh stadium too, that like
- 1:54:06Speaker 19: had like it looked like they're playing on cement that
- 1:54:08Speaker 19: was like spray painted green, basically River Stadium.
- 1:54:12Speaker 5: I'm gonna go with Dallas on the road. Take those points,
- 1:54:17Speaker 5: me too. Dallas is such a better team, but they
- 1:54:22Speaker 5: smell right now, there's something off about that team. But
- 1:54:24Speaker 5: I'm still gonna take Dallas. I'll just take the talent.
- 1:54:26Speaker 5: I just think they're much better.
- 1:54:29Speaker 4: Yeah, I kind of agree, Dallas to me is a
- 1:54:34Speaker 4: better team, but no, no, Micah Parsons. Right, I'm gonna
- 1:54:38Speaker 4: take the Cowboys anyway.
- 1:54:40Speaker 3: It's amazing the respect the Cowboys get after losing every
- 1:54:44Speaker 3: year talent. Yeah, but I'm gonna take the Cowboys.
- 1:54:48Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:54:49Speaker 3: All right. So now we go to Monday Night ESPN,
- 1:54:52Speaker 3: ESPN two, ESPN Deportes. The two and two Saints are
- 1:54:57Speaker 3: at the four and oh Chiefs.
- 1:54:59Speaker 5: How about them Saints getting that primetime slot?
- 1:55:02Speaker 4: Yeah, Chiefs by five and a half.
- 1:55:06Speaker 5: No brainer for me.
- 1:55:07Speaker 19: Continue to roll with Kansas City to win. I don't
- 1:55:11Speaker 19: love laying all those points, but I will.
- 1:55:14Speaker 9: I'll take the Chiefs. I'll let allow the Saints to cover.
- 1:55:20Speaker 5: I'm going to do the same thing the Chiefs. Who's
- 1:55:22Speaker 5: playing out wide receiver for Kansas City right now?
- 1:55:25Speaker 4: We have no idea.
- 1:55:26Speaker 9: Did you see the thing with Rice's mom?
- 1:55:29Speaker 4: Yeah? Was that real?
- 1:55:30Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:55:30Speaker 9: I think so. It's being reported like it's real, But
- 1:55:33Speaker 9: I don't know.
- 1:55:35Speaker 4: I'm just going to be on record saying I'm not
- 1:55:36Speaker 4: buying it.
- 1:55:38Speaker 20: Neither did she Allegedly she stole a package from someone's
- 1:55:43Speaker 20: door and got caught on a ring camera and she
- 1:55:46Speaker 20: was wearing a Mama Rice jersey.
- 1:55:49Speaker 4: That was not great.
- 1:55:50Speaker 5: Your sons in the NFL. He can just buy you
- 1:55:52Speaker 5: whatever it is that you want.
- 1:55:53Speaker 4: That's the beauty of it.
- 1:55:54Speaker 7: Okay.
- 1:55:55Speaker 5: So I'm going to take the Chiefs to win, but
- 1:55:56Speaker 5: I'm didn't take the Saints to cover just because I
- 1:55:58Speaker 5: don't know how many points the Chiefs are going to
- 1:55:59Speaker 5: be able to plenty.
- 1:56:01Speaker 4: Yeah, this is a good spot for the for the
- 1:56:04Speaker 4: Saints with all the stuff that you guys are talking about.
- 1:56:06Speaker 4: I'm gonna be with Mike, though. I'm gonna take the
- 1:56:08Speaker 4: Chiefs until they lose the shop.
- 1:56:10Speaker 3: The shops are chalking this and they they say it's
- 1:56:13Speaker 3: a cover, not a cover.
- 1:56:15Speaker 6: No, who's winning, So they're gonna have more.
- 1:56:18Speaker 3: The Chiefs are gonna win.
- 1:56:19Speaker 4: Chiefs are gonna win, but.
- 1:56:21Speaker 3: The Saints are going to with everybody else. They're not
- 1:56:24Speaker 3: gonna lose by the cover, by the Okay.
- 1:56:29Speaker 4: So somehow we only have four minutes left in the
- 1:56:31Speaker 4: show after all that, hurry in.
- 1:56:32Speaker 3: So go for the money line.
- 1:56:34Speaker 6: But we can finally talk about Miami a little.
- 1:56:36Speaker 3: Bit there, all right, So now we go back to
- 1:56:38Speaker 3: Sunday at one on Fox. A lot of Fox Patriots
- 1:56:42Speaker 3: games this year.
- 1:56:43Speaker 5: I don't care for it.
- 1:56:45Speaker 3: One in three Dolphins are at the one in three Patriots.
- 1:56:50Speaker 4: The Patriots by one.
- 1:56:53Speaker 5: Hey, we're favored first time.
- 1:56:55Speaker 6: No one asked me about that this week.
- 1:56:57Speaker 3: I thought maybe I was gonna take the Dolphins to cover.
- 1:57:01Speaker 19: But that's great, all right, I'm gonna I can't pick
- 1:57:06Speaker 19: against the Patriots in the situation I said, I think
- 1:57:08Speaker 19: it's a must win kind of a game for them.
- 1:57:10Speaker 19: I think it's going to be a tractor pull. You
- 1:57:12Speaker 19: can't let the big plays happen with those two guys.
- 1:57:14Speaker 19: I think that'll change the dynamic really quick, and Patriots
- 1:57:17Speaker 19: struggle to come back. They do give up a couple
- 1:57:19Speaker 19: scores that that could be the difference. So hopefully they
- 1:57:22Speaker 19: play tight on the back end, they keep Hill and
- 1:57:24Speaker 19: Waddle in check. I still think it's not gonna be
- 1:57:26Speaker 19: a lot of points. I'll go Patriots thirteen to.
- 1:57:30Speaker 9: Ten, Patriots fourteen, Miami twelve.
- 1:57:39Speaker 3: Fourteen to twelve. Okay, it's a third grade basketball game.
- 1:57:45Speaker 5: I don't I don't love either picking eye of these
- 1:57:48Speaker 5: teams right now. I would stay away from this game
- 1:57:50Speaker 5: if I could. Miami offensively, they still are generating open
- 1:57:57Speaker 5: receivers down the field. Their quarterback just cannot get them
- 1:58:00Speaker 5: the football, so that does worry me a little bit
- 1:58:03Speaker 5: because the BYD squirrel finds it not every once in
- 1:58:05Speaker 5: a while, and all it takes is one seventy yard
- 1:58:07Speaker 5: touchdown at Tyreek Hill and then that's basically game if
- 1:58:10Speaker 5: here the Patriots PI and yeah, so I am going
- 1:58:15Speaker 5: to take the Patriots, but I don't like it. I'm
- 1:58:19Speaker 5: gonna say fifteen thirteen Joey Sly game winning field goal.

- 1:58:44Speaker 4: because of a variety of issues. I'm gonna go thirteen
- 1:58:49Speaker 4: to nine.

- 1:59:03Speaker 4: uttered on this show.
- 1:59:05Speaker 3: Twenty one to ten, Patriots easily covering that one point spread, easily.
- 1:59:11Speaker 5: Trust some respect.
