- 0:00Speaker 1: Now, Ron Verb on NewsRadio 570 WKBN. Yeah, from NewsRadio
- 0:08Speaker 1: 570 WKBN 505. All right, I'm going back to Fifth Avenue.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Now listen to me, and then I'll listen to you.
- 0:16Speaker 2: All right, but don't talk to me for 10 minutes.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Okay, but it's difficult not to.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Democracy doesn't work that way.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Yes, it does.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Yeah, your democracy, because you control the microphone, of course.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Well, you're on your phone and you're on the air
- 0:38Speaker 1: as well. I don't know what the big deal is.
- 0:41Speaker 1: And I appreciate that. Listen, you seem to have a— what
- 0:47Speaker 1: is your beef now?
- 0:47Speaker 2: My beef is that the political atmosphere that we have
- 0:52Speaker 2: today which is caused by the Trump administration, which is
- 0:57Speaker 2: office rocker, which is the ship is no longer being
- 1:01Speaker 2: able to be righted. It's going to sink. He's taking
- 1:05Speaker 2: his country into bankruptcy. This is what's pushing that other
- 1:10Speaker 2: part of the, that's what's pushing this idiotic crap that's
- 1:14Speaker 2: going on in the Democratic Party. It's a perfect storm.
- 1:19Speaker 2: There's more to this than just blaming Democrats. Blaming the Democrat.
- 1:27Speaker 2: It's more than that. And if your callers, if your
- 1:30Speaker 2: Republican people would just start reading a little bit and
- 1:34Speaker 2: understanding what's really going on in the world, then they
- 1:39Speaker 2: could have a conversation. But they seem to lack the
- 1:42Speaker 2: ability to want to pick up a newspaper. All they
- 1:46Speaker 2: want to do is listen to Fox News. I don't
- 1:50Speaker 2: get it. I don't understand it, Ron. I really don't.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Well, what is it that's bothering you?
- 2:01Speaker 2: I'm getting off on a tangent here, and I don't
- 2:03Speaker 2: want to do that. But to me, the atmosphere of
- 2:08Speaker 2: this political... nonsense. And it's not, I don't, you know what?
- 2:13Speaker 2: I don't believe anything that comes out of Washington, D.C.
- 2:17Speaker 2: Did you hear Bennett, or what's his name, Besant, or
- 2:20Speaker 2: whatever his name is? What are the Canadians going to do?
- 2:23Speaker 2: They're going to get their two submarines together and attack us?
- 2:27Speaker 2: I hope Canada comes out the winner big time in
- 2:31Speaker 2: what Trump tried to do with his tariffs to Canada.
- 2:36Speaker 2: I mean, what is coming out of D.C. is the
- 2:39Speaker 2: It is juvenile, third grade. This guy was not... Anyway,
- 2:44Speaker 2: I don't want to get into all that because I
- 2:46Speaker 2: could go on for... The reason that I called is
- 2:48Speaker 2: because we're going to bring it down to Ohio. Legislatures
- 2:54Speaker 2: over a couple of decades have engaged in tax shifting,
- 2:57Speaker 2: which is shifting taxes away from the state and onto
- 3:01Speaker 2: local homeowners, communities, and communities. They're forcing communities and local
- 3:07Speaker 2: homeowners to pay more than their fair share to keep police, fire,
- 3:12Speaker 2: and safety personnel on the streets.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Go ahead.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Ohio Public Schools, for example, the state has long neglected
- 3:25Speaker 2: to fund Ohio Public Schools. Over the past decade, the
- 3:30Speaker 2: state has shifted funding away from our local communities to
- 3:35Speaker 2: benefit private schools. This year, it cost us a billion
- 3:41Speaker 2: dollars alone. That's money shifted from the public schools to
- 3:46Speaker 2: the private schools. That is not a lie. That's not
- 3:49Speaker 2: a Democratic made-up bullcrap. That is the truth. But you
- 3:55Speaker 2: Republicans have a way of trying to make everything that
- 3:58Speaker 2: comes out of the mouth of a Democrat a lie.
- 4:01Speaker 2: And it's led to Ohioans having to vote more on
- 4:06Speaker 2: school levies than any other state over the last 20 years.
- 4:12Speaker 2: It's why homeowners are feeling the pinch in their bills.
- 4:16Speaker 2: It's especially hard on the senior citizens, the middle class.
- 4:20Speaker 2: They're stretched thin. In most states, businesses pay more property taxes.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Homeowners pay less. Now Ohio homeowners and farmers are paying
- 4:34Speaker 2: two-thirds of the total property taxes. Despite giveaways, studies show
- 4:41Speaker 2: that Ohio continues to trail the nation in job creation
- 4:46Speaker 2: and has one of the worst economies in the United States. Now,
- 4:50Speaker 2: I don't know how much more plain I can be.
- 4:55Speaker 2: I really don't know. And all of this has occurred
- 5:00Speaker 2: under the Republican administration, who has had a stronghold on
- 5:05Speaker 2: the state level and the federal level for how many
- 5:08Speaker 2: years now? But yet you continue and continue and continue
- 5:13Speaker 2: to blame the Democrats for everything that's All of this
- 5:17Speaker 2: is going wrong. But people just won't pick up on
- 5:20Speaker 2: this thing.
- 5:20Speaker 3: You won't read.
- 5:21Speaker 2: You won't understand what is really going on, especially in
- 5:25Speaker 2: the state of Ohio. They're holding that money. They're not
- 5:28Speaker 2: giving it back to the states. That's why you have
- 5:31Speaker 2: all these levies on these schools. The homeowners are being
- 5:34Speaker 2: forced out of their homes. They can't pay it anymore.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Does that make any sense to you at all?
- 5:42Speaker 1: I sat back and I listened to what you had
- 5:44Speaker 1: to say, and I didn't interrupt you. And does it
- 5:48Speaker 1: make sense to me? Absolutely not. I mean, no, it
- 5:52Speaker 1: doesn't make sense to me because as you sit there
- 5:56Speaker 1: and you talk about the Democrats, I can talk to
- 5:58Speaker 1: you about the Democrats on all levels. I mean, if
- 6:02Speaker 1: you want to start on a federal level or a
- 6:05Speaker 1: state level, you're championing a party that basically lets, once again,
- 6:09Speaker 1: from a federal level, let millions of people come into
- 6:11Speaker 1: your country undocumented and spend billions of dollars.
- 6:15Speaker 2: We have to talk about just the taxes on the homeowners.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Okay, let me talk about taxes.
- 6:22Speaker 2: I know that the border situation, I agree with you.
- 6:27Speaker 4: A thousand percent.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Then I'll talk taxes on it.
- 6:29Speaker 4: You're not talking.
- 6:31Speaker 2: To some Democrat here that goes along together.
- 6:33Speaker 1: It's hard for me to talk. You won't let me talk. So,
- 6:36Speaker 1: I mean, I'll talk to you about taxes on the homeowners.
- 6:40Speaker 1: If it wasn't for the Republicans, including you, why are
- 6:45Speaker 1: you saying, oh, I haven't even said anything yet? What
- 6:47Speaker 1: am I going to say that you said oh to?
- 6:50Speaker 2: Go ahead. I'm listening. Okay. All right.
- 6:52Speaker 1: If it wasn't for Dave Thomas, who's a Republican, and
- 6:55Speaker 1: the Republicans voting in support, the reappraisals of your property,
- 6:59Speaker 1: which just took place, you would be paying another 20%
- 7:02Speaker 1: to 30% increase as you did in the previous reappraisals.
- 7:04Speaker 5: It is only....
- 7:09Speaker 1: Because of Dave Thomas.
- 7:11Speaker 2: That is just absolutely not true.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Well, tell me why that's not true.
- 7:16Speaker 2: That's not true.
- 7:17Speaker 4: You're not listening to what I'm saying.
- 7:21Speaker 1: So tell me what I was going to say.
- 7:22Speaker 2: Wait a second here.
- 7:26Speaker 1: You didn't even let me finish my thought. So I
- 7:28Speaker 1: want you to tell me what I was going to
- 7:30Speaker 1: say to you. Because you wouldn't even let me finish.
- 7:33Speaker 2: I've been listening to you with this.
- 7:36Speaker 1: You would not even let me finish my thoughts.
- 7:39Speaker 2: It communicates well. Go ahead.
- 7:42Speaker 1: So I'm going to say to you again, and I'm
- 7:44Speaker 1: going to try again. Once again, you do not understand
- 7:47Speaker 1: that your homes were just re-evaluated in Mahoning County. I'll
- 7:50Speaker 1: make it specifically for you. And the properties go up,
- 7:55Speaker 1: let's say, on average of 20%, as Meacham has said.
- 7:58Speaker 1: So in your previous evaluations last time, your property taxes
- 8:02Speaker 1: reflected that increase of 20%. But because of and solely
- 8:07Speaker 1: because of Dave Thomas and the Republicans that voted for it,
- 8:12Speaker 1: your increase that will happen as a result of your
- 8:14Speaker 1: reevaluations will not be 20 percent. It cannot be any
- 8:19Speaker 1: higher than the rate of inflation. It cannot go up
- 8:23Speaker 1: more than the current rate of inflation.
- 8:26Speaker 2: You are missing the point entirely.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Well, I can't even make my points.
- 8:30Speaker 2: The Republicans created the problem, and now they're trying to
- 8:34Speaker 2: put patches on it. The Republicans created this problem by
- 8:39Speaker 2: holding the money back and not giving it back to
- 8:42Speaker 2: the cities and the communities and the homeowners.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Well, let me ask you this. So if the Democrats
- 8:47Speaker 1: were in charge and your house was reappraised under the
- 8:50Speaker 1: Democrat administration.
- 8:52Speaker 4: But they're not in charge.
- 8:53Speaker 2: They haven't been in charge.
- 8:54Speaker 4: I can't answer that.
- 8:56Speaker 1: I can answer it, but you won't shut up enough
- 8:58Speaker 1: for me to even answer. So what's the point? There
- 9:01Speaker 1: is absolutely no point. Your mind is made up. You
- 9:08Speaker 1: want to say, here's the reality. Here's the facts. Here's
- 9:11Speaker 1: all of this nonsense that you want to spew. So
- 9:13Speaker 1: when I'm simply... Wait, wait, wait.
- 9:15Speaker 4: No, I'm just saying.
- 9:18Speaker 1: Because there's no point.
- 9:21Speaker 2: Why do you say that's nonsense? Why is that nonsense?
- 9:29Speaker 1: Can I go back to my point, or do you
- 9:30Speaker 1: want to now go to private schools?
- 9:33Speaker 2: We're talking about.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Okay, because the Republicans felt that you as a parent
- 9:39Speaker 1: should not be restricted by going to a poor public
- 9:43Speaker 1: school system.
- 9:44Speaker 2: I can't step in all over the Constitution. I want
- 9:47Speaker 2: separation of church and state. Do you send your child
- 9:52Speaker 2: to a private school?
- 9:55Speaker 1: There's no point in going further, because I can't even
- 9:58Speaker 1: utter a word without you. You won't listen.
- 10:01Speaker 4: You interrupt me.
- 10:02Speaker 1: No, there is no point here. There's absolutely no point
- 10:06Speaker 1: because you won't be quiet for me to respond to
- 10:09Speaker 1: any of this.
- 10:10Speaker 2: You cannot say that there should be a separation. of
- 10:12Speaker 2: church and state.
- 10:13Speaker 1: I'm not talking about separate. I'm talking about.
- 10:15Speaker 2: We never put money into private schools when I was younger, ever, ever.
- 10:20Speaker 2: It was always, if you wanted, you had to pay
- 10:23Speaker 2: out of your own pocket if you wanted to go
- 10:25Speaker 2: to a private school.
- 10:26Speaker 5: All right.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Thanks for calling. There's no point in even trying to
- 10:31Speaker 1: carry on a conversation because it's impossible. You're on air.
- 10:34Speaker 6: I'm doing okay, Doc.
- 10:35Speaker 7: I'm doing okay, Doc. I was wondering if you could...
- 10:38Speaker 7: My wife tells me all the time that she can't
- 10:40Speaker 7: put up with my drooling anymore. And I was wondering,
- 10:43Speaker 7: you know, if this is going to be my last
- 10:46Speaker 7: session because every time the doorbell rings or my wife
- 10:49Speaker 7: turns on the fan in the bathroom, I tune in
- 10:52Speaker 7: to 570 WKBN and I can't. It happens in the
- 10:55Speaker 7: middle of the night, too.
- 10:56Speaker 1: So I don't.
- 10:57Speaker 5: Hello?
- 10:59Speaker 1: Go ahead. This is the doctor.
- 11:01Speaker 7: Oh, my God.
- 11:01Speaker 1: This is the doctor listening. It's the doctor. Go ahead.
- 11:07Speaker 7: See, Doc, it happens all the time now. I must
- 11:11Speaker 7: be hearing things now. But can you make sure you
- 11:14Speaker 7: put the wood in my.
- 11:14Speaker 6: Mouth this time?
- 11:15Speaker 7: Because last time you guys didn't do it in my ears.
- 11:18Speaker 1: We're going to put the wood in your mouth and
- 11:20Speaker 1: give you the electric shock therapy, and everything will be fine.
- 11:25Speaker 1: Just relax. JJ the Liberal, better known now as JJ
- 11:29Speaker 1: the Trumpster, after his electric shock therapy. You're on the air.
- 11:33Speaker 3: We're on.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Yes.
- 11:36Speaker 5: Oh, Madonna me. I just listened to that last call
- 11:39Speaker 5: before J.J. Didn't we need J.J. to go do something
- 11:43Speaker 5: for us? I just remembered J.J. What were we going
- 11:46Speaker 5: to have him do?
- 11:48Speaker 1: I know.
- 11:49Speaker 5: We were going to have him go over there to
- 11:52Speaker 5: that park. Oh, my God.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Where were we going to send him?
- 11:59Speaker 5: We're going to send him over to the trailer park
- 12:01Speaker 5: and give us a report.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 12:03Speaker 5: No.
- 12:04Speaker 1: I got JJ. I'll probably assign him tomorrow to give
- 12:07Speaker 1: us an update on the sheet station coming to Cornersburg.
- 12:10Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 12:11Speaker 1: We need that.
- 12:11Speaker 5: We haven't had that update.
- 12:13Speaker 1: You know, he has to go stroll over there, let
- 12:15Speaker 1: me know if anything's happening or if the construction site is...
- 12:18Speaker 1: It's on a pause. I'm trying to get the latest.
- 12:22Speaker 5: We didn't get any good updates today from him.
- 12:24Speaker 1: We need to call back tomorrow. I saw the Cornersburg
- 12:27Speaker 1: community had a cleanup day. I want to get to JJ.
- 12:31Speaker 1: I've got to get JJ the roving. Keep in mind,
- 12:34Speaker 1: he called me from the doctor's office. He was getting
- 12:36Speaker 1: his electronic shock therapy. And he was on hold a while,
- 12:41Speaker 1: so obviously they had to put the wood in his
- 12:43Speaker 1: mouth to administer it. But I'm going to ask him
- 12:47Speaker 1: about the big Cornersburg cleanup that they did, I think,
- 12:50Speaker 1: over the weekend and if he participated.
- 12:53Speaker 5: Oh, my goodness. I was in Cornersburg this weekend over
- 12:57Speaker 5: there getting some sausage. Yeah, I was over there getting sausage.
- 13:00Speaker 1: Where did you go?
- 13:02Speaker 5: Cornersburg Italian Specialty, whatever they call that now.
- 13:06Speaker 3: What do they call that now?
- 13:09Speaker 1: Where? By the post office over there?
- 13:13Speaker 5: Yeah, over.
- 13:17Speaker 1: By... Somebody told me that... I can't even think of
- 13:20Speaker 1: the guy's name down there. It used to be... Do
- 13:23Speaker 1: you know where the.
- 13:24Speaker 5: You've never been to Cornersburg Italian Specialty Store? No.
- 13:29Speaker 1: No.
- 13:30Speaker 5: Oh, my God. The one over by the supermarket that's
- 13:33Speaker 5: going to... It was having the, what's the house, the
- 13:35Speaker 5: name of the supermarket?
- 13:36Speaker 1: Sparkle, but it's not, it's not in that plaza. It's
- 13:39Speaker 1: over by there. No.
- 13:40Speaker 5: It's right across the street in that other small little plaza.
- 13:43Speaker 5: I think there's like a Dollar General or something next
- 13:46Speaker 5: to it. It's right on that same intersection.
- 13:50Speaker 1: There's no Dollar General? Wait a second here. Are you hallucinating?
- 13:54Speaker 1: I'm visualizing now. Are you talking over, no, are you
- 13:57Speaker 1: talking by the Cornersburg Post Office, that plaza?
- 14:01Speaker 5: I don't know if there's a post office over there.
- 14:03Speaker 5: I'll be honest.
- 14:04Speaker 1: Well, you ought to pay better attention. I don't see
- 14:06Speaker 1: a dollar.
- 14:07Speaker 5: I don't go there. I don't drive there that often.
- 14:10Speaker 1: How many Cornersburg stores are there?
- 14:14Speaker 5: There can't be that many. It's not that big.
- 14:16Speaker 1: I can't recall a Dollar General over there in Cornersburg.
- 14:20Speaker 5: Oh, there's Dollar Generals on every corner. What do you mean?
- 14:23Speaker 5: You just add num to it.
- 14:25Speaker 1: I think you're hallucinating is what I think. All I
- 14:27Speaker 1: was trying to say to you is, when you're talking
- 14:30Speaker 1: about sausage, of which I love, incidentally, let's see. There
- 14:38Speaker 1: was a guy that makes sausage down by the fire
- 14:44Speaker 1: station on the west side, but down by Shenley down there,
- 14:47Speaker 1: they say. I don't know if he's still around or not.
- 14:50Speaker 1: People would brag about it all the time. I had
- 14:52Speaker 1: some of it in the past. Are you familiar with
- 14:54Speaker 1: where I'm talking about on Shenley?
- 14:55Speaker 5: You know, I'm Italian, and we get our sausage from Joseph's.
- 15:01Speaker 5: If we don't go there, it's Cornersburg. And if we
- 15:04Speaker 5: don't go there, it's at Sparkle.
- 15:06Speaker 2: That's it.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Where do you go?
- 15:08Speaker 5: Nowhere else.
- 15:09Speaker 4: Really?
- 15:11Speaker 5: Nowhere else. Never a Giant Eagle. And, you know, I
- 15:14Speaker 5: love everything. The Rick is not their stuff. I mean, no.
- 15:18Speaker 1: Now, get a load of this. Get a load of this,
- 15:21Speaker 1: which I've had a sandwich in my community. It's a
- 15:26Speaker 1: Sam's Wedge Inn, okay? And it's a sausage sandwich with …
- 15:33Speaker 1: With like the pizza sauce on it. What do you
- 15:35Speaker 1: call it? The red sauce. So it's a sausage patty
- 15:39Speaker 1: like a hamburger with like the red pizza sauce on
- 15:42Speaker 1: it and Hungarian hot peppers on it. And it is
- 15:46Speaker 1: just phenomenal. DeRusso's sausage patty.
- 15:49Speaker 3: Is that what you got?
- 15:52Speaker 1: It probably is that. I don't know. I never asked
- 15:55Speaker 1: him who made the patty, but it is really good.
- 15:57Speaker 1: You know, it comes like a hamburger bun. It looks
- 15:58Speaker 1: like a hamburger.
- 15:59Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Only it's a sausage patty with, you put the, like,
- 16:04Speaker 1: pizza sauce on top of it and some Hungarian peppers.
- 16:07Speaker 1: And I just sat there and I just said, God,
- 16:08Speaker 1: this is so good.
- 16:09Speaker 5: That's pretty good.
- 16:10Speaker 1: It is.
- 16:10Speaker 3: Like the provolone.
- 16:12Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 16:13Speaker 5: And a homemade roll.
- 16:14Speaker 1: And I don't know. It's just really good. I really,
- 16:18Speaker 1: I love sausage. I absolutely love it.
- 16:22Speaker 3: Yeah, I hate it on the grill, but I like it.
- 16:24Speaker 5: I do love sausage. I just don't like it on
- 16:26Speaker 5: the grill. It's dry, I think.
- 16:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know. It's just great. I'm surprised you
- 16:33Speaker 1: were in the Cornersburg area. Were you trying to spy
- 16:35Speaker 1: on JJ?
- 16:36Speaker 5: No, I only went there in and out, 20 minutes,
- 16:41Speaker 5: in and out to that Italian specialty store. I went
- 16:44Speaker 5: to go get my Italian specialty thing.
- 16:47Speaker 1: What are you cooking with sausage?
- 16:49Speaker 3: Stand by, please.
- 16:51Speaker 1: Stand by. I want to get to the bottom of this.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Call us online. Hang on. My investigative reporting will continue.
- 17:02Speaker 1: If you run a business, you know how hard.
- 17:04Speaker 8: News Radio 570 WKBN.
- 17:07Speaker 1: I'm trying to get to the bottom of this boss
- 17:08Speaker 1: lady who was in Cornersburg. We don't like to hear
- 17:11Speaker 1: her straying out of Poland.
- 17:13Speaker 5: Got to keep an eye on where I'm headed.
- 17:16Speaker 1: Right. You know what I mean? I mean... Shouldn't you
- 17:18Speaker 1: be like at the Poland Bulldog game or whatever it is?
- 17:21Speaker 5: No, it's been years since my sons have played at Poland.
- 17:28Speaker 3: So, no.
- 17:29Speaker 5: But listen, I have something important to tell you. And
- 17:33Speaker 5: then we digressed on the sausage.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Right.
- 17:36Speaker 5: I was talking about all this, he wants to blame
- 17:38Speaker 5: it all on the Republicans.
- 17:39Speaker 1: Yes.
- 17:41Speaker 5: Both of them have participated in this campaign.
- 17:45Speaker 3: Ohio has swung the pendulum.
- 17:47Speaker 5: So far in favor of businesses. And every time you do,
- 17:51Speaker 5: we are a fantastic state to do business in. We're
- 17:54Speaker 5: one of the best.
- 17:55Speaker 3: For businesses is the state of Ohio.
- 17:57Speaker 9: It is so.
- 17:58Speaker 5: Favorable towards businesses, and that's great.
- 18:00Speaker 9: You need that.
- 18:02Speaker 5: However, it's almost like it's too far away.
- 18:06Speaker 3: To that side.
- 18:08Speaker 5: And every time you do that, it impacts the homeowner
- 18:11Speaker 5: because somebody has to make up the funding. So if
- 18:14Speaker 5: you take away the taxes from the businesses or you
- 18:17Speaker 5: lower them, and they're already massively incentivized, be here. It
- 18:25Speaker 5: does burden the homeowner further. But don't sit there like
- 18:29Speaker 5: a Democrat and act like you wouldn't find another way
- 18:32Speaker 5: to spend it.
- 18:33Speaker 3: Because all you would do is go build.
- 18:36Speaker 5: Another freaking library. So maybe ask us for more MRDD money.
- 18:41Speaker 5: I mean, come on. These guys, that's all they do
- 18:43Speaker 5: is blow money. I disagree with both of them on this,
- 18:46Speaker 5: both sides. But the Democrats are far worse. They're the
- 18:49Speaker 5: ones who are always the ones giving out the free handouts.
- 18:52Speaker 5: They're always the ones that they wanted to be the
- 18:55Speaker 5: socialist environment where we keep giving, giving, giving until we
- 18:59Speaker 5: have nothing left because they want everybody to be on
- 19:02Speaker 5: the same level. They want to level the playing field
- 19:05Speaker 5: for everybody. So while I will agree that the Republicans
- 19:10Speaker 5: have their hand in this, the Democrats have done the
- 19:14Speaker 5: same exact thing. And if it wasn't giving it to businesses,
- 19:17Speaker 5: which is far better than giving it to some of
- 19:20Speaker 5: their social welfare programs, at least we get some sort
- 19:23Speaker 5: of economic benefit from that. That guy was off on a,
- 19:29Speaker 5: I don't even know where he was going with all that.
- 19:31Speaker 5: But the main reason I was calling was this Clancy
- 19:33Speaker 5: trial had me sick to my stomach.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Explained?
- 19:37Speaker 5: Oh, whatever she gets, I want him in the cell
- 19:40Speaker 5: next door.
- 19:42Speaker 4: He did it.
- 19:42Speaker 5: He did it. Now, is it murder one? To me,
- 19:46Speaker 5: I don't see how you could make that case. And
- 19:49Speaker 5: I am the heart. Like, I believe in the death penalty. Like,
- 19:52Speaker 5: I am a thousand percent for the death penalty.
- 19:57Speaker 1: I can tell you're a tough woman that holds a grudge.
- 19:59Speaker 1: I can just tell.
- 20:00Speaker 5: Well, I'm just saying, but this guy, he's the worst husband,
- 20:04Speaker 5: the worst father. He's been out with this other woman
- 20:08Speaker 5: that he met in New York. He's more worried about
- 20:10Speaker 5: everything else, was married so quickly after. You left her
- 20:15Speaker 5: day in and day out, a woman who was begging
- 20:17Speaker 5: for help. Now, she deserves to be punished. She committed murder.
- 20:22Speaker 5: I don't care if you've got a mental disorder or
- 20:24Speaker 5: not a mental disorder. I don't care. She deserves to
- 20:28Speaker 5: be punished. But he is culpable.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Well, wait a minute.
- 20:34Speaker 3: What part did he play in this?
- 20:35Speaker 1: Now, wait a minute. Explain this with the husband. I
- 20:38Speaker 1: thought the husband, I thought she sent him out to
- 20:40Speaker 1: run errands so that when he was gone, she killed
- 20:45Speaker 1: these kids. What do you mean? I didn't know the husband.
- 20:48Speaker 5: Now, would you leave your Looney Tunes wife? Would you
- 20:51Speaker 5: leave her with your three kids when she's this crazy
- 20:55Speaker 5: and on all this medication and you know that you've
- 20:58Speaker 5: got major problems and.
- 21:00Speaker 4: They've got postpartum?
- 21:01Speaker 5: Men need to wake up. I've never had postpartum. But
- 21:04Speaker 5: how many trials have we watched over the years?
- 21:07Speaker 3: Men need to buy a clue because.
- 21:09Speaker 2: It's a real thing.
- 21:11Speaker 5: And these women, I do not believe she wanted to
- 21:13Speaker 5: kill her children that day.
- 21:15Speaker 3: I think she's a very sick individual.
- 21:17Speaker 5: Now does her butt belong in jail?
- 21:19Speaker 3: You've got to pay the price.
- 21:20Speaker 5: You killed three innocent, beautiful babies. But this husband was going.
- 21:24Speaker 9: Off on business trips.
- 21:26Speaker 5: You left her with, you left Looney Tunes with your
- 21:28Speaker 5: three kids? Is something wrong with you?
- 21:32Speaker 1: So you're saying you're saying he wasn't paying that good
- 21:36Speaker 1: of attention. Well, she sent him out to run.
- 21:38Speaker 5: He was tasting pale. He was tasting pale is what
- 21:41Speaker 5: he was doing. He was worried about everything else but her.
- 21:43Speaker 1: How do you know? Did he have a girlfriend?
- 21:46Speaker 5: Yes, he had a girlfriend. And then he moved to
- 21:48Speaker 5: New York like quickly after she was in the hospital.
- 21:51Speaker 5: I don't even think he was out of the hospital.
- 21:53Speaker 5: And he relocated to New York. His three dead kids.
- 21:57Speaker 5: He's not even out of the hospital.
- 21:59Speaker 3: This is my impression of what I.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Well, now, wait a minute. I haven't heard this part.
- 22:03Speaker 1: So you're saying that this is interesting. I haven't heard this.
- 22:06Speaker 1: So you... Stand by, please. I get the latest gossip
- 22:09Speaker 1: from the boss lady. I mean, she's on top of things.
- 22:12Speaker 1: Back in a minute. NewsRadio 570, Dodie Covina, Ron Furb.
- 22:15Speaker 1: NewsRadio 570, WKVN.
- 22:20Speaker 10: Months after the sudden resignation of former Ohio State University
- 22:24Speaker 10: President Ted Carter, he's now breaking his silence, denying allegations
- 22:28Speaker 10: that he improperly used his position to benefit a woman
- 22:31Speaker 10: he was romantically involved with. Carter's being sued by the
- 22:34Speaker 10: founder of Vet Mentor AI, who accuses Carter, the woman,
- 22:37Speaker 10: her company, and Jobs Ohio of defamation and interfering with
- 22:41Speaker 10: his business. A court of claims conference is scheduled for
- 22:44Speaker 10: September 14th. More than a million dollars in grant money
- 22:48Speaker 10: is going to communities throughout the state to help the
- 22:50Speaker 10: issue of illegal dumping sites. It's the second round of
- 22:53Speaker 10: funding through the state's Shine a Light on Dumpers initiative.
- 22:57Speaker 10: Awards meant to help cover the cost of cleaning up
- 22:59Speaker 10: illegal dump sites and preventing future unlawful dumping. The three
- 23:03Speaker 10: major C's, Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinnati, and their surrounding counties
- 23:06Speaker 10: will get the funding.
- 23:08Speaker 1: I'm Sandy Collins.
- 23:09Speaker 8: Listen on the free iHeartRadio app for all your music, news, talk,
- 23:13Speaker 8: and sports radio.
- 23:14Speaker 2: Podcasts, too.
- 23:15Speaker 1: Download the app.
- 23:17Speaker 8: Free never sounded so good. Now, Ron Verb on NewsRadio
- 23:23Speaker 8: 570 WKVN. All right, let me get back to it.
- 23:26Speaker 8: NewsRadio 570 WKVN.
- 23:28Speaker 1: Now, I want to make sure I got this clear
- 23:30Speaker 1: because I get all my information on this from Ted
- 23:32Speaker 1: the Conservative. I have not watched the trial or anything
- 23:35Speaker 1: along those lines.
- 23:36Speaker 5: Three months. His babies were dead three months, and he moved.
- 23:41Speaker 5: I don't even think she was out of the hospital,
- 23:43Speaker 5: but three months. He moved to New York, aware he
- 23:47Speaker 5: had been dating and seeing a woman who he's now
- 23:50Speaker 5: married to and has more kids with. This guy knew.
- 23:55Speaker 5: He told him she had feelings of harming herself and
- 24:00Speaker 5: her children. He knew that. He was begging the medical
- 24:04Speaker 5: community for help.
- 24:05Speaker 1: Now, wait a second. I just want to get this
- 24:07Speaker 1: through my head. So according to you, because, wait a second,
- 24:11Speaker 1: according to you, you're saying, just so I get this straight,
- 24:16Speaker 1: because I haven't followed it like I should, but you're
- 24:20Speaker 1: saying that the woman that killed her three kids, they
- 24:23Speaker 1: were together, this husband and wife were together at the
- 24:27Speaker 1: time when this happened, because she sent him to the store,
- 24:31Speaker 1: and when he was away, she killed him. Was he
- 24:33Speaker 1: having an affair at that time?
- 24:37Speaker 5: He claims no. He claims no. But there is other
- 24:44Speaker 5: stuff that I can't even get into. But, yes, they
- 24:46Speaker 5: were both at the same— they' d both given a review of
- 24:49Speaker 5: a trip that they had taken at the same time.
- 24:53Speaker 5: There's a lot of things saying that, yes, he was.
- 24:55Speaker 3: Okay, so— A month later, he killed them.
- 25:10Speaker 1: So you're saying he wasn't paying attention. He was too
- 25:12Speaker 1: focused on his girlfriend.
- 25:14Speaker 5: Still worried on chase and tail he was still worried
- 25:17Speaker 5: about whatever else.
- 25:18Speaker 3: Was going on and he listen if.
- 25:20Speaker 5: You have a wife who had a postpartum who says
- 25:23Speaker 5: I have a feeling I'm going to hurt myself or
- 25:25Speaker 5: my children do you leave her no you do not
- 25:28Speaker 5: phone a friend you call your sister your brother your
- 25:31Speaker 5: neighbor can you come over and sit here for 20
- 25:34Speaker 5: minutes your mother you hide her a nanny you do something.
- 25:38Speaker 1: Now wait a minute wait a minute wait a minute
- 25:39Speaker 1: hang on a second hang on just hang on wait
- 25:42Speaker 1: a second here Ted Yes. Okay, now wait a minute,
- 25:48Speaker 1: Boss Lady.
- 25:49Speaker 4: Boss Lady, how you doing?
- 25:50Speaker 1: How are you?
- 25:51Speaker 5: I'm going on a tangent.
- 25:53Speaker 1: Okay, forget you guys having a social meeting here. Now,
- 25:57Speaker 1: are you familiar with this, Ted, since you have been
- 26:00Speaker 1: kind of my entertainment reporter?
- 26:02Speaker 9: I listen to every minute of the hearing. There's an
- 26:06Speaker 9: audio replay of it. I can send you the link
- 26:09Speaker 9: if you'd like.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Okay, I want you to talk about what the boss said.
- 26:14Speaker 1: Was the husband... He.
- 26:17Speaker 9: Was involved in her care. He doesn't have any children
- 26:21Speaker 9: with his new wife. He was involved with her care.
- 26:25Speaker 9: He was trying to get help. The medical system filled
- 26:28Speaker 9: this family, in my opinion. After listening to all of
- 26:32Speaker 9: the evidence.
- 26:33Speaker 1: But wait a second. Do you think that he was
- 26:36Speaker 1: seeing another woman when this was happening?
- 26:40Speaker 9: No, there's no indication of that through any of the testimony.
- 26:45Speaker 1: So you're telling me.
- 26:46Speaker 5: Not in the testimony, but they have found where they
- 26:51Speaker 5: were both at the same vacation spot and both gave
- 26:55Speaker 5: the same... They reviewed at the same time at the
- 27:00Speaker 5: same location. It's just awfully coincidental, but nothing that's been testified.
- 27:04Speaker 1: Right, but three months.
- 27:06Speaker 9: But he doesn't have any children with this new woman.
- 27:09Speaker 1: All right, but three months.
- 27:10Speaker 5: Oh, yeah, that I just looked it up while you
- 27:12Speaker 5: were saying that. I thought, is he pregnant now, then?
- 27:16Speaker 9: Not that I know of. They went into a lot
- 27:18Speaker 9: of that stuff about his... I've heard a lot of
- 27:22Speaker 9: stuff about him.
- 27:23Speaker 1: What have you heard about him?
- 27:28Speaker 9: I think the poor guy, you know, when trauma happens
- 27:32Speaker 9: in life, we all react differently. And I think when
- 27:35Speaker 9: there's trauma at this level, I think it's easy to
- 27:39Speaker 9: second guess how someone behaves. But until you go through
- 27:42Speaker 9: that trauma yourself, you just don't know how you react.
- 27:45Speaker 1: But does it seem weird? Now, wait a second. Ted,
- 27:48Speaker 1: does it seem weird to you? You're telling me, just
- 27:52Speaker 1: so I get this right, boss, you're telling me three
- 27:54Speaker 1: months after she killed his kids, he left and went
- 27:58Speaker 1: to New York and married another woman.
- 28:00Speaker 5: Well, he didn't marry her that soon, but he picked
- 28:03Speaker 5: up and moved to New York, and that's where he's from.
- 28:06Speaker 9: Yeah, he did leave.
- 28:08Speaker 5: Now, here's the thing.
- 28:08Speaker 9: Well, obviously, he couldn't go back in the house. I mean,
- 28:11Speaker 9: who would want to go back in the house?
- 28:12Speaker 5: Of course he wouldn't go back in the house. He
- 28:14Speaker 5: wasn't even out of prison.
- 28:15Speaker 1: But don't you find it a little odd?
- 28:16Speaker 6: Yeah, I agree.
- 28:17Speaker 9: I agree with that part. It makes no sense to me.
- 28:19Speaker 9: I would never leave my wife under those conditions.
- 28:22Speaker 1: Yeah, but doesn't it seem odd that after this traumatic
- 28:26Speaker 1: event that you would move to New York and hook
- 28:30Speaker 1: up with another woman that quickly?
- 28:33Speaker 9: I don't know when the relationship began, so I can't
- 28:36Speaker 9: speak to that. But I agree with you. I would
- 28:39Speaker 9: have been with my wife no matter how hard I worked.
- 28:41Speaker 5: Would you have left her with your babies alone in
- 28:46Speaker 5: the house? Knowing that she told you to see a feeling,
- 28:52Speaker 5: to kill herself, kill the kid's harm, and he testified
- 28:55Speaker 5: to that.
- 28:57Speaker 2: You're right.
- 28:57Speaker 6: You're right.
- 28:58Speaker 9: I think once she made that known to him, and
- 29:02Speaker 9: the rest of the family, that's where he made a
- 29:04Speaker 9: big mistake. She should have never been alone, ever.
- 29:08Speaker 5: Never.
- 29:08Speaker 9: When someone tells you they're just thinking about doing what
- 29:11Speaker 9: he said, I agree with you. He should not have
- 29:13Speaker 9: left her.
- 29:14Speaker 5: He should.
- 29:16Speaker 9: And I agree with you. You know, you could almost say,
- 29:18Speaker 9: like you said, isn't he culpable for leaving her alone
- 29:22Speaker 9: with the kids when she told him, you know, I'm
- 29:25Speaker 9: thinking about killing the kids and myself. I feel sorry.
- 29:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 29:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:32Speaker 5: See, this woman was begging for help. And when you
- 29:35Speaker 5: listen to her defense attorney read the journal entry, the
- 29:39Speaker 5: medication was making her so sick. She had insomnia so bad.
- 29:43Speaker 5: She was screaming for help. Her husband was not there
- 29:49Speaker 5: to help her. He wasn't paying attention. He was asleep
- 29:52Speaker 5: at the wheel. And these medical professionals failed her. And
- 29:57Speaker 5: now we have three dead kids. This woman's life, his
- 30:00Speaker 5: life is, I don't know. You know, I mean, everybody's
- 30:02Speaker 5: life is ruined here. But he certainly is not squeaky
- 30:06Speaker 5: clean here.
- 30:09Speaker 2: Yeah, it's sad.
- 30:10Speaker 9: It's a sad, sad situation. I just feel bad for
- 30:14Speaker 9: the woman in that she tried to get help. She
- 30:17Speaker 9: knew there was definitely a problem. I mean, who calls
- 30:21Speaker 9: a suicide hotline twice and is told they can't help you?
- 30:25Speaker 9: Can you imagine that? Like, what about the suicide hotline?
- 30:28Speaker 9: And what about the doctors? I mean, there needs to
- 30:32Speaker 9: be more people held accountable.
- 30:35Speaker 5: It definitely does. And men need to wake up about this.
- 30:38Speaker 1: Wait a second. Hang on, hang on. I think I
- 30:42Speaker 1: lost Ted. But anyway, go ahead, boss lady.
- 30:44Speaker 5: The point of it all is the men need to
- 30:46Speaker 5: wake up about this postpartum. Like I said, I've never
- 30:50Speaker 5: had it. I've never experienced it. I don't. But it
- 30:54Speaker 5: is a real thing. We've seen how many trials where
- 30:57Speaker 5: women go. I don't know the hormones or whatever is
- 31:00Speaker 5: happening there. It's completely normal. And they go through the psychosis.
- 31:05Speaker 5: And men need to start paying attention and waking up.
- 31:08Speaker 3: Because I feel like, you know what, if they don't
- 31:11Speaker 3: want to.
- 31:11Speaker 5: Wake up, start holding them partly responsible for this because
- 31:15Speaker 5: he knew how bad she was.
- 31:20Speaker 1: And you're saying that this is after you give birth
- 31:23Speaker 1: and all that kind of stuff, you know, she.
- 31:25Speaker 5: Yeah, it's just after childbirth or whatever. Mm-hmm. Yeah, I mean,
- 31:31Speaker 5: it's a serious thing. So let me ask you this.
- 31:34Speaker 1: How do you punish someone like this? If you're on
- 31:38Speaker 1: the jury, what do you decide?
- 31:41Speaker 5: I think he's not going to be found guilty with murder. One,
- 31:43Speaker 5: I don't know how you do that. When the woman
- 31:45Speaker 5: was begging for help and telling everybody that she was...
- 31:48Speaker 5: And all the symptoms that she recorded, I don't know. Obviously,
- 31:53Speaker 5: you'd have to be insane. His mother... Now, I don't
- 31:56Speaker 5: know if Ted knows. I heard this, and I did
- 31:59Speaker 5: check it. But, I mean, I don't know. He watched
- 32:01Speaker 5: the trial. I didn't watch all of the trial. His
- 32:04Speaker 5: mother actually supporting her is what I heard was on
- 32:09Speaker 5: her side. And she never supposedly even attended their wedding. So,
- 32:14Speaker 5: I mean, his mother is saying that she was a
- 32:17Speaker 5: wonderful mom. She was an attentive mom. And all of
- 32:21Speaker 5: a sudden, now she's crazy, and she strangles her three children.
- 32:26Speaker 5: their children. Whatever.
- 32:29Speaker 11: It's awful.
- 32:30Speaker 5: It's completely awful. But he needs, I mean, I'm sorry.
- 32:34Speaker 5: He's partly culpable. I'm fine with whatever punishment they give her.
- 32:37Speaker 5: I think he needs to be right next to her.
- 32:39Speaker 5: Because I do believe, I do believe he was out
- 32:44Speaker 5: of town too much. He was traveling too much, and
- 32:47Speaker 5: he wasn't attentive enough, and it sounded like he was
- 32:49Speaker 5: a little lackadaisical. Now, I get it. Hindsight 2020, right?
- 32:54Speaker 5: And this is a bad one, but come on. This
- 32:57Speaker 5: woman was sick.
- 32:59Speaker 1: Yeah, so basically, it's got to be tough on this
- 33:05Speaker 1: jury because they've got to be really going through a
- 33:07Speaker 1: lot of debate over it all.
- 33:09Speaker 5: Oh, yeah, and then today they came back and the
- 33:11Speaker 5: judge sent them home.
- 33:12Speaker 3: I thought that we were going to get a jury.
- 33:16Speaker 5: You know, a verdict today, and we didn't.
- 33:18Speaker 9: So, honestly.
- 33:20Speaker 5: The woman's a paraplegic now, I believe. Threw herself out
- 33:24Speaker 5: of the window.
- 33:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, wasn't that, and the window wasn't that high.
- 33:30Speaker 6: No, I don't understand.
- 33:31Speaker 5: To me, that's very interesting. And I'm not going to
- 33:34Speaker 5: go down the crazy cuckoo puff theories that are out
- 33:37Speaker 5: there right now.
- 33:38Speaker 2: But it is very interesting.
- 33:40Speaker 5: I don't know how you become a paraplegic by just
- 33:44Speaker 5: a two-story room. I don't know how you could do that.
- 33:47Speaker 9: I don't know.
- 33:48Speaker 5: I mean, maybe she was bleeding and she couldn't plan
- 33:52Speaker 5: the fall. I don't know. But yeah, she's a paraplegic.
- 33:57Speaker 6: Not a paraplegic.
- 33:59Speaker 2: She's in a wheelchair.
- 33:59Speaker 1: I don't know what. I mean, I don't know. How
- 34:06Speaker 1: tragic is it all? Those three babies are dead. And
- 34:11Speaker 1: the whole thing is just so. It's a mess. It
- 34:16Speaker 1: really is.
- 34:16Speaker 5: It's very sad.
- 34:18Speaker 1: You know, keep me. This is a boss lady. If
- 34:22Speaker 1: we get a verdict tomorrow, I want to get your
- 34:24Speaker 1: reaction to it. In addition, we'll be talking to Boss
- 34:28Speaker 1: Lady about sausage and the verdict tomorrow. Oh, my God.
- 34:37Speaker 6: Okay, thanks.
- 34:42Speaker 1: I like her analysis. I kind of like both her
- 34:46Speaker 1: and Ted's analysis. See, I mean, I haven't watched his stuff.
- 34:53Speaker 5: And.
- 34:55Speaker 1: But I dig their analysis. I dig their give and take,
- 34:59Speaker 1: you know, because Ted has actually watched and listened to
- 35:01Speaker 1: all this stuff, and the boss lady's on top of
- 35:03Speaker 1: the game. So I don't have to. I can sit
- 35:06Speaker 1: back and I can learn from the two of them
- 35:08Speaker 1: having a discussion. You're on air.
- 35:12Speaker 5: Hey, Ron.
- 35:13Speaker 1: You.
- 35:15Speaker 4: Well, I tell you.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Oh, excuse me. I didn't recognize you at first. It's
- 35:19Speaker 1: Bubba Ganoush.
- 35:21Speaker 6: Yeah, hold on.
- 35:22Speaker 11: Listen.
- 35:23Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 35:24Speaker 6: This thing with Venezuela, you know, Trump worked out a deal.
- 35:28Speaker 6: You know, we're not going to see anything for about
- 35:30Speaker 6: two years. Oh, look at those tears. Oh, look at that. Anyhow,
- 35:37Speaker 6: on that. Secondly, I hear people saying, oh, he's still
- 35:41Speaker 6: in the war. They don't understand that he's trying to
- 35:45Speaker 6: break Iran's bank so they don't have money to feed
- 35:51Speaker 6: the proxies in Lebanon. You know, in Hezbollah, Hamas, and Houthis.
- 35:58Speaker 6: Why don't people understand that?
- 36:01Speaker 1: Someone wanted me to ask you since they said, well,
- 36:04Speaker 1: what does Baba Ghanoush think about all this stuff Israel's
- 36:08Speaker 1: doing in Lebanon? What is his thoughts about that?
- 36:12Speaker 6: Well, that's because it's a proxy that is funded by
- 36:15Speaker 6: Iran and Israel. And what their goal is, is to
- 36:21Speaker 6: constantly pound on Israel. Now, you wouldn't want anybody pounding
- 36:26Speaker 6: on your house constantly, would you?
- 36:28Speaker 5: No.
- 36:30Speaker 1: Okay.
- 36:30Speaker 6: So that's what that's all about. And Hezbollah has been
- 36:35Speaker 6: in Lebanon, and I've been against that from day one.
- 36:39Speaker 6: But the people in Lebanon go, oh.
- 36:41Speaker 7: No, they're nice people.
- 36:42Speaker 6: I'm going, no, they're not. Okay, secondly, this thing with
- 36:46Speaker 6: Sharia law, You know how they're talking about in the
- 36:49Speaker 6: United States? Every woman in the United States should be
- 36:55Speaker 6: totally against this because they fought for their freedoms and
- 36:59Speaker 6: their rights. Sharia law takes that all away from women.
- 37:02Speaker 6: You can beat them up and get away with it.
- 37:05Speaker 6: Did you know that?
- 37:06Speaker 1: Well, I'm not interested in practicing Sharia law. I don't
- 37:09Speaker 1: live in the Middle East.
- 37:11Speaker 6: No, no, no. United States.
- 37:13Speaker 1: I know. I don't embrace it.
- 37:16Speaker 6: Okay.
- 37:18Speaker 1: If you want to live that way, you go live
- 37:20Speaker 1: in a country that's where the rules are. That's how
- 37:22Speaker 1: it works here. Yeah, it does.
- 37:25Speaker 6: They've got Sharia law courts here. They've got 100 in
- 37:30Speaker 6: Great Britain. They have them down in Texas and everything.
- 37:34Speaker 1: I'm not interested in living in any country that has
- 37:36Speaker 1: Sharia law or Mediterranean food.
- 37:39Speaker 6: Okay, whatever.
- 37:41Speaker 1: Well, I'm just.
- 37:41Speaker 6: Here we go back in Mediterranean food.
- 37:44Speaker 1: Oh, I got to have sausage.
- 37:47Speaker 6: Yeah. Yeah, milk and mashed potatoes.
- 37:50Speaker 2: Yes.
- 37:51Speaker 1: I love mashed potatoes.
- 37:53Speaker 6: And milk.
- 37:53Speaker 3: I know.
- 37:54Speaker 6: That's your favorite food.
- 37:55Speaker 1: All right. I mean, if you would partake in my
- 37:58Speaker 1: wife's roast beef dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy, you
- 38:02Speaker 1: would give up Mediterranean food in a blink of an eye,
- 38:03Speaker 1: I'm telling you.
- 38:04Speaker 4: Mm-hmm.
- 38:06Speaker 1: She makes it great. That's right. And... And a great turkey, too. Turkey, stuffing,
- 38:11Speaker 1: mashed potatoes. Oh, it's great. It's wonderful. All right.
- 38:14Speaker 5: You never invited me.
- 38:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I know.
- 38:19Speaker 6: Okay.
- 38:19Speaker 1: Was I supposed to?
- 38:21Speaker 6: I don't know. You're asking me if I would taste it.
- 38:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 38:28Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 38:29Speaker 6: I just want to let you know that... Oh, and
- 38:32Speaker 6: the other thing is, I heard.
- 38:37Speaker 2: Kennedy.
- 38:38Speaker 6: You know, the senator, and he was saying that the
- 38:43Speaker 6: Senate doesn't want to support Paxson.
- 38:47Speaker 1: Why not?
- 38:49Speaker 5: I have no clue.
- 38:50Speaker 6: So you know what Trump's going to do? He's going
- 38:53Speaker 6: to campaign like he's running in 2028. He's going to
- 38:57Speaker 6: hit the road hard, he said. And he's going to
- 39:00Speaker 6: start campaigning like he's running for office. Isn't that great?
- 39:05Speaker 1: Well, I mean, you've got to do what you've got
- 39:07Speaker 1: to do to try to prevent you from losing the majority.
- 39:10Speaker 1: I mean, can you imagine the hell this country will
- 39:13Speaker 1: be through for two years if the Democrats take one
- 39:16Speaker 1: of the two houses or both of them? Oh, we'll
- 39:19Speaker 1: get nothing done, Ron. Exactly. That's exactly right. Here is what–
- 39:29Speaker 1: how about this one? At the time of writing, Polly
- 39:32Speaker 1: Market put Amy Acton's chance of victory at 54% and
- 39:35Speaker 1: Ramaswamy's at 47%. I don't believe that.
- 39:37Speaker 5: Well....
- 39:43Speaker 1: Well, Kalshi, did I say that right, showed Acton ahead
- 39:45Speaker 1: with 55% to 45%. So polymarket, and how do you
- 39:51Speaker 1: say it, Kalshi, 55% to 45%. Both markets had priced
- 39:56Speaker 1: the contest as essentially even only days before August 24th
- 40:01Speaker 1: when traders moved sharply toward Acton. The reversal raises the
- 40:05Speaker 1: prospect of a genuine contest for an open governor's office
- 40:09Speaker 1: in a state Trump carried by 11.2 points. I mean,
- 40:12Speaker 1: it's percentages. I should say, what? Who in their right
- 40:15Speaker 1: mind would vote for her?
- 40:17Speaker 6: Amy will destroy the state.
- 40:18Speaker 1: I agree. I totally agree. I mean, it's... I mean,
- 40:25Speaker 1: she's a liberal and a tax and spender and.
- 40:30Speaker 1: I can't see it, but, I mean, are people just
- 40:32Speaker 1: so pissed off at the Republican? Like I say, any
- 40:35Speaker 1: of you Democrats that are benefiting with your property tax
- 40:39Speaker 1: increase is not going up as much this time because
- 40:41Speaker 1: the reappraisals is solely because of Dave Thomas and the Republicans.
- 40:45Speaker 1: The Democrats didn't support that.
- 40:47Speaker 6: That's right. Your buddy Dave Thomas is a good guy.
- 40:49Speaker 1: He is a good guy. That's the sole reason you're
- 40:52Speaker 1: not hit with another 20% increase is.
- 40:53Speaker 2: Because of him.
- 41:00Speaker 6: If I was down there, me and him would be buddies.
- 41:02Speaker 6: You know that, right?
- 41:03Speaker 1: I don't think he'd want you as a friend.
- 41:06Speaker 3: What?
- 41:07Speaker 7: Oh, okay.
- 41:08Speaker 6: Thanks, Warren.
- 41:09Speaker 1: I'm just saying. I'm giving you some analysis. I don't
- 41:13Speaker 1: know that I would want to share you, okay?
- 41:16Speaker 6: You know what, Warren?
- 41:17Speaker 4: Just something else.
- 41:18Speaker 1: Thank you. We'll be back. All right, back to it.
- 41:24Speaker 1: News Radio 570 WKBN. You're on the air.
- 41:32Speaker 4: Hello. Hey, the fellow that won't let you talk?
- 41:37Speaker 1: Yes.
- 41:38Speaker 6: Okay.
- 41:39Speaker 4: You might want to tell him there's no such thing
- 41:41Speaker 4: in the Constitution of the United States as a separation
- 41:44Speaker 4: of church and state. It's something that Thomas Jefferson said,
- 41:48Speaker 4: but it's not the law.
- 41:50Speaker 1: It doesn't matter. He wouldn't let me speak anything. I mean,
- 41:54Speaker 1: he spews all of this stuff, and we couldn't even
- 41:57Speaker 1: have a conversation. He was on fire today, wasn't he?
- 42:00Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, but he said, I want us to
- 42:04Speaker 4: go by the Constitution, you know, and there's a separation
- 42:07Speaker 4: of church and state, and it's not in the Constitution.
- 42:11Speaker 4: So he's, he's off someplace.
- 42:15Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 42:15Speaker 4: Okay.
- 42:15Speaker 1: Well, I was just, the only point I was trying
- 42:17Speaker 1: to make to him was, is it wrong to say
- 42:20Speaker 1: that some, somebody can leave a bad school district and
- 42:23Speaker 1: put their kid in some other district where they think
- 42:25Speaker 1: they get a better education that they, is it wrong
- 42:28Speaker 1: to give the parent a choice? I mean, in his opinion,
- 42:31Speaker 1: if they want to say, well, I want to take
- 42:33Speaker 1: my tax dollars and go to whether it's any of
- 42:36Speaker 1: these private schools or, or, uh, another public school to
- 42:44Speaker 1: empower parents to be able to say, I think my
- 42:46Speaker 1: kid would get a much better education, better environment if
- 42:48Speaker 1: they come over here.
- 42:50Speaker 4: And if the kids get a better education, we benefit
- 42:53Speaker 4: from it because they become a more productive person all
- 42:55Speaker 4: their lives.
- 42:56Speaker 1: There you have it. I would think so, wouldn't you?
- 42:59Speaker 4: It's like investing money in a good thing.
- 43:03Speaker 6: There you go.
- 43:04Speaker 11: Okay.
- 43:04Speaker 4: Well, anyway, I just wanted to talk to you and
- 43:06Speaker 4: tell you a little bit about the Constitution.
- 43:07Speaker 2: All right.
- 43:08Speaker 8: Thank you.
- 43:09Speaker 1: Appreciate it.
- 43:10Speaker 9: All right.
- 43:10Speaker 1: Thanks. You're on air. Hello. Hey, Ron.
- 43:13Speaker 6: How you doing, bud?
- 43:14Speaker 1: Good, sir. Go ahead, please.
- 43:16Speaker 6: You know what?
- 43:17Speaker 11: That man better pray to God that there is a
- 43:21Speaker 11: separation of church and state. Because what's coming with Islam,
- 43:25Speaker 11: they're trying to create a religion based on the laws
- 43:29Speaker 11: that are going to be passed. They're going to indoctrinate
- 43:32Speaker 11: our children through the education system for Sharia law and
- 43:38Speaker 11: all this other stuff that's going on. I don't think
- 43:41Speaker 11: that man did the fine bottom line of research on
- 43:46Speaker 11: our Constitution.
- 43:47Speaker 1: All right. I got you. I'm running out of time.
- 43:50Speaker 1: News Radio 570 WKBN. I'm Ron Furb. Stay tuned. Rockport
- 43:53Speaker 1: Wealth Truth and Investing Program is coming up next here

- 44:05Speaker 1: thoughts about some things that you should know from the
- 44:08Speaker 1: world of finances. That's next to 6 to 7. Back
