- 0:05Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett. Hello, Big
- 0:12Speaker 1: Blue Nation. Welcome to Just the Cats. My name is
- 0:16Speaker 1: Michael Bennett on this Tuesday, October 13th. I hope everybody's
- 0:20Speaker 1: having a good day so far. Justin Kalen is with
- 0:22Speaker 1: me this morning. Justin. I got to tell you right now,
- 0:25Speaker 1: I apologize. That's okay. No biggie. Struggling a little under
- 0:29Speaker 1: the weather today, but I'm here. I don't want the
- 0:33Speaker 1: one texter saying, just check it in and see if
- 0:35Speaker 1: Michael Bennett's here. I'm here. I don't feel good, but
- 0:39Speaker 1: I'm here. Are you a radio host or a horseman? Well, no,
- 0:42Speaker 1: stop that. I mean, I want to be a radio
- 0:44Speaker 1: host and a horseman. But, no, it's been a whirlwind
- 0:48Speaker 1: day already. I can tell you that. But, anyway, and
- 0:51Speaker 1: it wasn't cold brew that did it to me. I
- 0:53Speaker 1: was still laughing last night to the texter that sent
- 0:57Speaker 1: me that his bathroom's not going to be the same
- 1:00Speaker 1: after having cold brew because he switched from that. He
- 1:02Speaker 1: was on, what was it, Red Bull going to cold brew? Yes,
- 1:06Speaker 1: sugar-free Red Bull. That was it. That made me laugh
- 1:09Speaker 1: all day. So my wife asked me last night, did
- 1:12Speaker 1: anything happen funny on the radio today? And I had
- 1:14Speaker 1: to go back to text groove, look up the text
- 1:17Speaker 1: and read it to her. She goes, that's gross. Was
- 1:19Speaker 1: this after Rutherford? Why? Because if so, you had a
- 1:24Speaker 1: lot of scrolling to do. Oh, no. Well, it wasn't
- 1:27Speaker 1: that hard. Yeah, that is true, by the way. But,
- 1:29Speaker 1: you know, we had a lot of scrolling yesterday with
- 1:31Speaker 1: our text messages.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:33Speaker 3: By the way, did you hear the weather guy just
- 1:35Speaker 3: a second ago? Yeah, almost 90 today.
- 1:38Speaker 1: 90 degrees today, and it is October 13th. How about that?
- 1:42Speaker 1: I'm loving it. Same. Yeah.
- 1:44Speaker 3: And that makes Michael Bennett really happy. Actually, when I
- 1:48Speaker 3: was over at my other job yesterday, I went for
- 1:50Speaker 3: two separate walks.
- 1:51Speaker 1: What? Because I was like, it is low 80s in
- 1:56Speaker 1: the middle of October. I know. I was like, I
- 1:58Speaker 1: got to get outside. Well, you know, I left Louisville
- 2:00Speaker 1: on Saturday, headed over to Lexington for the ball game
- 2:03Speaker 1: Saturday night. And it was a fine temperature. It wasn't
- 2:07Speaker 1: that windy. Get to Lexington, rainy, cold, and really windy
- 2:12Speaker 1: with just an hour and 15 minutes. It's like, this
- 2:14Speaker 1: is just crazy. It was all due to the hurricane, obviously.
- 2:17Speaker 1: But it still is kind of crazy when weather changes
- 2:19Speaker 1: so quickly like that. It is. But can we just
- 2:23Speaker 1: say the hurricane was rather disappointing? I mean, it should
- 2:27Speaker 1: be once it gets up here, right? Yeah.
- 2:29Speaker 3: A hurricane still shouldn't be intact when it gets to it.
- 2:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:33Speaker 3: And the fact that it was, yeah, I mean, yeah,
- 2:35Speaker 3: it was disappointing. But what are you looking for? Hurricane Ike?
- 2:39Speaker 3: For the weather to blow a million miles an hour?
- 2:41Speaker 1: I want thunderstorms. I want torrential down. I don't want flooding.
- 2:45Speaker 3: I don't want damage. But I want a nice, relaxing thunderstorm.
- 2:49Speaker 3: I would have been okay with that.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Yeah, that's all I'm asking for.
- 2:52Speaker 3: You know, that really is the crappy part about winter.
- 2:55Speaker 3: Not only that it gets super cold and we get
- 2:57Speaker 3: ice and snow, but it doesn't storm.
- 2:59Speaker 1: No. And that sucks. I agree with you. Although, when
- 3:03Speaker 1: we have the thundersnow, those are pretty cool. Have you
- 3:08Speaker 1: experienced thundersnow? Where it's been a thunderstorm while it was snowing?
- 3:12Speaker 1: I don't think so. Oh, it's happened here in Louisville.
- 3:14Speaker 1: It doesn't happen much, but it's happened before. It was wild.
- 3:17Speaker 1: But yeah, I've experienced that. Anyway, a lot to talk
- 3:22Speaker 1: about today. Obviously, you hate it when I say that,
- 3:24Speaker 1: but we do have... I don't hate it when you
- 3:26Speaker 1: say that.
- 3:26Speaker 3: Well, I do. You just think I hate it. Okay, well,
- 3:29Speaker 3: it's in my head, okay? Just to let you know.
- 3:32Speaker 3: Like my wife, you're always in my head, Justin Kaelin.
- 3:34Speaker 1: That's not good. No, it's not good. I'll tell you
- 3:36Speaker 1: that right now. But I think the big story came
- 3:42Speaker 1: out last night regarding an email. I don't know if
- 3:47Speaker 1: you've seen this or not, that Mark Pope sent to
- 3:50Speaker 1: the student body. All right?
- 3:54Speaker 3: And I'm okay with that. But let me read it.
- 3:58Speaker 3: You said Mark Pope. I said Mark Pope.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Yes. Not anybody else.
- 4:03Speaker 3: My brain heard Stoops, and I was like, wait, that
- 4:05Speaker 3: doesn't make sense. Mark Pope, send an email. No, that
- 4:07Speaker 3: would be weird if Mark Stoops sent one. That was
- 4:09Speaker 3: my initial thought.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. Kind of weird. All right, so here's what
- 4:13Speaker 1: he said. He said, Wildcats, there are college basketball fans,
- 4:17Speaker 1: and then there is BBN. I know that because I've
- 4:20Speaker 1: experienced Kentucky basketball from a few different seats. I've worn
- 4:25Speaker 1: that sacred piece of cloth with Kentucky across my chest.
- 4:29Speaker 1: I've been part of a team that hung a banner
- 4:31Speaker 1: in Rep Arena, and now I have the incredible privilege
- 4:34Speaker 1: of coaching the Cats. Here's what I know. Kentucky basketball
- 4:39Speaker 1: has never only belonged to the players on the court.
- 4:43Speaker 1: It belongs to each of you and all of Big
- 4:45Speaker 1: Blue Nation. The banners, the names, the games people are
- 4:49Speaker 1: still talking about years later, the feeling you get inside
- 4:52Speaker 1: Rupp when we make a run and everyone rises to
- 4:56Speaker 1: their feet. That's Kentucky basketball. But our tradition isn't here
- 5:01Speaker 1: only to be celebrated. We're here to add to it.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Every season has its own chapter. And as a UK student,
- 5:08Speaker 1: you get one of the best seats in the house
- 5:10Speaker 1: to help us write this one. And here we go.
- 5:14Speaker 1: All caps. Your seat comes with a job. Bring the noise.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Bring the energy. Go Cats. Mark Pope, head coach, men's basketball.
- 5:25Speaker 1: I mean, I don't have a problem with it. You don't?
- 5:26Speaker 2: No.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Now, I mean, very obviously, I don't think this was
- 5:31Speaker 1: a move he made on his own. Yeah.
- 5:33Speaker 3: I think he was, it seems like at least from
- 5:36Speaker 3: the script that he was probably prompted.
- 5:38Speaker 1: To do something like this. Yeah.
- 5:40Speaker 3: And I don't know that he actually wrote a good
- 5:43Speaker 3: chunk of that. I'm sure he wrote some of it.
- 5:46Speaker 3: Do you think AI wrote it?
- 5:48Speaker 1: Maybe. Or did somebody in the program use some suggestions?
- 5:53Speaker 1: Because here's my problem. And it's very nice of you
- 5:58Speaker 1: to say that, Justin. Because you're somewhat of a passive
- 6:04Speaker 1: UK fan. And I think that's fair to say. And
- 6:07Speaker 1: I don't have any problem with that. But I'm a
- 6:10Speaker 1: diehard UK fan, and I think this is a little cringeworthy.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Can we say semi-passive UK fan? Okay, that's fair.
- 6:16Speaker 3: I don't like the full-throttle passive.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Okay, sure. But I read this, and I thought, this
- 6:22Speaker 1: is about as cheesy as it gets. Especially when I read,
- 6:27Speaker 1: I've worn that sacred piece of cloth. I thought that was...
- 6:32Speaker 1: That's the part he definitely wrote.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh. That's the part he definitely wrote? I
- 6:42Speaker 1: really thought that was the AI. Well, maybe he did.
- 6:45Speaker 1: That sounds like how Mark Pope would talk. That just
- 6:48Speaker 1: sounds cheesy. And, listen, I'm rooting for Mark Pope. But
- 6:53Speaker 1: when I read something like this, it's like, this is
- 6:56Speaker 1: not good. Just because I see every other rival out
- 7:01Speaker 1: there taking this and, like, just bashing. eating it to bits. Okay. They're,
- 7:05Speaker 1: they're craving for something like this. And to see something
- 7:09Speaker 1: like this, it's like, this wasn't, this wasn't a good move.
- 7:12Speaker 1: It just, I look at it as like, you know,
- 7:14Speaker 1: nice attempt, but I, I, and it's almost like a
- 7:18Speaker 1: comparison because you, As you know, Will Stein challenged the
- 7:24Speaker 1: fan base to come to the football game, Alabama game, early,
- 7:28Speaker 1: be prepared, sneak in the flask and all that stuff,
- 7:32Speaker 1: which went completely viral, not within the fan base, but
- 7:35Speaker 1: throughout the country. I see this. This is going to
- 7:38Speaker 1: be working and going throughout the country in an opposite way.
- 7:43Speaker 1: It's just, it wasn't a good move. And I'm sorry
- 7:46Speaker 1: he did this. You think it's a bad move? I
- 7:50Speaker 1: just think it's something that's going to be made fun of.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Especially the sacred piece of cloth. Who cares if it
- 7:59Speaker 1: gets made fun of? Is he not right in saying that?
- 8:03Speaker 1: I mean, Kentucky has, what, second most championships? Yeah, it's
- 8:07Speaker 1: a UCLA. You're right. I mean, how is it not
- 8:09Speaker 1: a sacred piece of football? I mean, it's a goofy
- 8:12Speaker 1: way to word it. Thank you.
- 8:13Speaker 3: It's goofy. I mean, I think what he said is true.
- 8:18Speaker 1: I don't.
- 8:19Speaker 3: He just could have said it in a different way. Well,
- 8:22Speaker 3: it's not true to me. I mean, it's just you
- 8:24Speaker 3: said it best.
- 8:25Speaker 1: Oh, so you hate your team? No, I don't hate
- 8:27Speaker 1: my team. I just think it's a goofy email that
- 8:29Speaker 1: I wish he hadn't written and wish he had said
- 8:31Speaker 1: it probably earlier. Like a normal person would say, just
- 8:34Speaker 1: come out and root for us or not even sent
- 8:37Speaker 1: it out in an email, just sent it out in
- 8:39Speaker 1: a video form. Everybody just like Will Stein did. We
- 8:41Speaker 1: want everybody coming to these games. We want the student body.
- 8:45Speaker 1: They're rooting on your team. Get there early. Like Will
- 8:47Speaker 1: Stein said, let's follow along how we followed the football team.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Let's do the same for this basketball team.
- 8:52Speaker 3: But you of all people should know by now that
- 8:54Speaker 3: Mark Pope's not normal. That's just a weird way to
- 8:59Speaker 3: say it. That's like asking you to send a normal email.
- 9:01Speaker 3: That's not going to happen.
- 9:02Speaker 1: I'm not going to send something like this. I'm 60
- 9:05Speaker 1: years old and I'm not going to send something like this.
- 9:08Speaker 1: I read this and I think I want to know
- 9:10Speaker 1: what the student body thinks. And do they think this
- 9:14Speaker 1: is as cheesy as I do? I just don't think
- 9:17Speaker 1: it was a, I appreciate the temp, but he should
- 9:19Speaker 1: have done it in a completely different way in a
- 9:21Speaker 1: video form, not sending an email.
- 9:24Speaker 3: I think it's just Mark Pope, and you never know
- 9:27Speaker 3: what to expect out of that guy. I really have
- 9:29Speaker 3: no problem.
- 9:30Speaker 1: You don't? Okay. I'm glad you don't. I do. I
- 9:33Speaker 1: just don't like it. So, anyway, there you go. Sorry.
- 9:39Speaker 1: I'm not sorry. I just, I wish he would act
- 9:43Speaker 1: differently sometimes. And this wasn't the best move by him.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Because I'm telling you, every rival, just like I said
- 9:49Speaker 1: a second ago, every rival's out there going to be, oh,
- 9:51Speaker 1: sacred piece of cloth. They're going to make fun of
- 9:54Speaker 1: this entire thing. So, I mean, that's your only hang up? No,
- 9:59Speaker 1: it's just the whole. I'm sending an email out. I'm
- 10:03Speaker 1: confused why you're so mad about it. I'm not mad.
- 10:06Speaker 1: I'm a little on the embarrassed side of it. I'm
- 10:08Speaker 1: not perturbed at all. I'm a little embarrassed. It's just so.
- 10:13Speaker 1: You said it well. Goofy. But why should you be embarrassed?
- 10:17Speaker 1: Because I'm a fan and that's the coach of my
- 10:19Speaker 1: basketball team.
- 10:20Speaker 3: But this ultimately has nothing to do with what the
- 10:23Speaker 3: team's going to do on the floor this year.
- 10:25Speaker 1: I hope not. I mean, I hope this is a
- 10:28Speaker 1: team that's going to do well.
- 10:29Speaker 3: It's just a plea to the fan base to come
- 10:31Speaker 3: and be loud and be a good fan.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:33Speaker 3: I mean, does he say some goofy things in it?
- 10:35Speaker 1: Sure. All right. Compare it to how Will Stein did it.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Who do you think did a better job of trying
- 10:42Speaker 1: to promote and get their fan base to come support
- 10:46Speaker 1: their team? I think they both did a good job.
- 10:47Speaker 1: They just went about it a different way. All right.
- 10:50Speaker 3: Because they're different people. Yeah, they're different people.
- 10:54Speaker 1: I just like Will Stein's approach a lot more than
- 10:58Speaker 1: I like Mark Pope's. Well, let's be honest. Let's break
- 11:00Speaker 1: this down even further. Okay.
- 11:01Speaker 3: Do you like Will Stein more than Mark Pope? The
- 11:04Speaker 3: easy answer for you is yes. And bam, that's it.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Yeah, probably so. That's why you feel that way. You
- 11:11Speaker 1: think so? Yeah. Okay. I think that's a fair assumption.
- 11:14Speaker 1: I'm getting to the point where Will Stein, with what
- 11:18Speaker 1: he has done in year one at UK football that
- 11:21Speaker 1: I never projected, No one else out there. Well, there
- 11:25Speaker 1: is few people out there that projected this. But, I mean,
- 11:28Speaker 1: it's just he's made football fun. Mark Pope in year
- 11:32Speaker 1: three is making basketball difficult. And that's as nice as
- 11:37Speaker 1: I can be.
- 11:37Speaker 3: Well, at least he has. That's not a fair assumption
- 11:40Speaker 3: that that's going to be the case again this year.
- 11:42Speaker 3: But don't get me wrong. I'm not rooting against him.
- 11:45Speaker 1: Well, I know that.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:46Speaker 1: I am not rooting against Mark Pope. I've said it
- 11:49Speaker 1: many times. I want him to succeed. I just, I
- 11:53Speaker 1: don't see it happening. So, and to do something like this,
- 11:57Speaker 1: don't send some email. Send a video out to everybody.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Send it to not just the student body. Send it
- 12:02Speaker 1: to all the fan base. Something tells me if he
- 12:04Speaker 1: would have done a video, you'd have the same take. No,
- 12:06Speaker 1: I wouldn't. He said this during the video. Well, if
- 12:09Speaker 1: he had said that, if he had said the sacred cloth, yeah,
- 12:12Speaker 1: probably would have sacred cloth. I mean, even I'm making
- 12:16Speaker 1: fun of that. It's just, it's just a little too
- 12:18Speaker 1: much for me, but maybe I'm wrong. Maybe other people
- 12:21Speaker 1: are out there saying, no, it's a good thing. He
- 12:23Speaker 1: said this. It's just. Okay. Well, I'm in shock you
- 12:29Speaker 1: take a totally different approach, and I appreciate you did.
- 12:31Speaker 3: I'm in shock that we're starting the show complaining about
- 12:33Speaker 3: an email that was sent out to the fan base.
- 12:36Speaker 1: Because it's goofy. There's no way, there's no cut and
- 12:40Speaker 1: dry to me. It's goofy sounding. And I would have
- 12:44Speaker 1: never sent something like that. It's just too mushy. It is.
- 12:49Speaker 1: I mean, it sounds like a love letter. So, oh, Michael. Yeah. Yeah. Well,
- 12:54Speaker 1: that's my take. I mean, you love my takes because
- 12:56Speaker 1: they're crazy. Well, there's a crazy take for you. You
- 12:59Speaker 1: just come in firing. I am firing shots right now.
- 13:03Speaker 1: I want this team basketball team to do well. If
- 13:06Speaker 1: it doesn't do well, you know what? Maybe it's time
- 13:09Speaker 1: for a change. It'll work itself out. Well, I will
- 13:12Speaker 1: tell you this. I wasn't happy with the way the
- 13:16Speaker 1: SEC media voted on this team. I don't know if
- 13:20Speaker 1: you saw that or not.
- 13:20Speaker 4: Nope.
- 13:21Speaker 1: But we will be talking about that. They projected UK
- 13:25Speaker 1: to finish seventh in the league. That ain't going to
- 13:29Speaker 1: get it done. See? I could not agree with you more.
- 13:34Speaker 1: And I thought, oh, my. That's a take right there.
- 13:39Speaker 1: And did not make me happy at all. You kind
- 13:42Speaker 1: of said that, oh, my, like the guy we were
- 13:43Speaker 1: talking about last week. Who was that? Remember the oh, my. Oh,
- 13:48Speaker 1: that's right. Yes, yes, yes. I didn't mean to say
- 13:49Speaker 1: it that way. But yeah, you kind of said it
- 13:51Speaker 1: like it. I did, didn't I? Yeah. But anyway, I'm
- 13:57Speaker 1: not happy about this.
- 13:59Speaker 3: Let me put it this way. You may not be
- 14:02Speaker 3: happy about it, but it's certainly something that you shouldn't
- 14:05Speaker 3: be unhappy about.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Really?
- 14:07Speaker 3: It is what it is. Dude sent an email. You
- 14:09Speaker 3: didn't much care for it. You thought it could have
- 14:11Speaker 3: been a little bit better, worded differently, whatever it is
- 14:14Speaker 3: that you think. But you shouldn't let it. drag you
- 14:17Speaker 3: down and be a precursor of what's coming for this
- 14:23Speaker 3: basketball team.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Well, it does make you wonder, because we talked a
- 14:28Speaker 1: little bit about it yesterday. I felt like the football
- 14:31Speaker 1: team's taking a little bit of pressure off the basketball team.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Now I'm wondering if the pressure is already Mark Pope's
- 14:36Speaker 1: already feeling the pressure. Well, the basketball football team's getting
- 14:39Speaker 1: all this attention. They're now ranked 15th in the country.
- 14:41Speaker 1: I better step it up. Well, maybe that's exactly what
- 14:43Speaker 1: it was. Maybe he just he didn't want people to
- 14:45Speaker 1: forget about his team, which they're not going to. I mean,
- 14:48Speaker 1: it's always going to be all about basketball with football,
- 14:52Speaker 1: preferably if they're both good. But I mean.
- 14:55Speaker 3: Yeah, football has been getting a lot of love. So
- 14:57Speaker 3: I wouldn't be surprised to find out that maybe he
- 14:59Speaker 3: did put this out there to have people just remember, hey,
- 15:02Speaker 3: basketball's coming up. We're still here, too. We're going to
- 15:06Speaker 3: try to do our part just like the football team has. Well,
- 15:09Speaker 3: I hope you're right. It's going to be a tough
- 15:12Speaker 3: road if it doesn't. And you get football just smacking it.
- 15:18Speaker 3: Year one with Will Stein and year three, it's really
- 15:21Speaker 3: starting to drag for Mark Pope in basketball. That's got
- 15:24Speaker 3: to add a lot of pressure. It absolutely does. By
- 15:27Speaker 3: the way, I don't know if we talked about it
- 15:29Speaker 3: on your show yesterday, but I did see a prediction
- 15:32Speaker 3: that's got Kentucky-Indiana playing the first round of the playoffs
- 15:36Speaker 3: in Bloomington.
- 15:38Speaker 1: How fun would that be? How fun would that be? Yeah.
- 15:42Speaker 3: It would be fun. I would love it. I hate
- 15:44Speaker 3: that it would be in Bloomington. I would rather it
- 15:47Speaker 3: be in Lexington. Y'all better start winning a lot more games. Well,
- 15:50Speaker 3: we've won so many games away now. I look at
- 15:53Speaker 3: all these things on Twitter yesterday, people projecting them to
- 15:56Speaker 3: be in the college football playoff.
- 15:59Speaker 1: We were talking last year how jealous I am of IU,
- 16:02Speaker 1: and here UK is being mentioned for all these things. Now,
- 16:04Speaker 1: we're a long way away. I asked my roommate this
- 16:08Speaker 1: last night. Would you rather have... the type of season,
- 16:13Speaker 1: let's just stay with Kentucky and Indiana. Would you rather
- 16:15Speaker 1: have the type of season Indiana's having coming off of
- 16:18Speaker 1: a championship and being expected to win all these games?
- 16:22Speaker 1: Or would you rather be in the boat that you're
- 16:23Speaker 1: in as a Kentucky fan where you came into the
- 16:26Speaker 1: season with very little expectations and now you're sitting at
- 16:28Speaker 1: five and one? I would rather have the expectations already there.
- 16:32Speaker 1: Would you? Yeah, because you've already experienced the wins.
- 16:35Speaker 3: Well, I was telling my roommate last night, I think Kentucky,
- 16:39Speaker 3: from a fan perspective, I do think it would be
- 16:42Speaker 3: a lot more fun to be a Kentucky fan going
- 16:45Speaker 3: in with Really, I mean, there were people out there
- 16:47Speaker 3: that had expectations for this season. I wasn't one of them.
- 16:50Speaker 3: I picked four games. So if I was a Kentucky
- 16:52Speaker 3: fan and I picked four games or four wins and
- 16:55Speaker 3: we're sitting at 5-1 here through six weeks, I just
- 16:58Speaker 3: think that's so much more enjoyable than going in with
- 17:01Speaker 3: the expectations of being 6-0.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Don't get me wrong. You're exactly correct. Because remember, I've
- 17:06Speaker 1: said it multiple times. I need to apologize to Will
- 17:09Speaker 1: Stein face-to-face. I picked two wins, and here we are
- 17:13Speaker 1: at 5-1. What an idiot. I know. I feel like
- 17:16Speaker 1: a complete idiot. Absolutely. Well, I do every day, but
- 17:20Speaker 1: I just know this is this is either way. It's
- 17:23Speaker 1: fun because I love UK football as much as I
- 17:28Speaker 1: love UK basketball. I always have. And it's just fun
- 17:33Speaker 1: to finally have your team doing so well. It is.
- 17:37Speaker 1: It's so satisfying. Yeah. And it just amazes me that
- 17:42Speaker 1: Las Vegas continues to bet against Kentucky. I would have figured,
- 17:48Speaker 1: not six and a half. Now, granted, the game is
- 17:51Speaker 1: in Oklahoma. I get that. It's in Norman. I would
- 17:55Speaker 1: have probably put this game at maybe three, three and
- 17:57Speaker 1: a half, but six and a half points? I'm really
- 17:59Speaker 1: surprised about. Mm-hmm. I just figured they've learned their lesson.
- 18:04Speaker 1: They lost with LSU. Las Vegas, that is. Las Vegas
- 18:08Speaker 1: lost with Texas A & M. And I'm like, when
- 18:11Speaker 1: are they going to learn? Because to me, the sure
- 18:15Speaker 1: bet is to bet on UK. At this point, you
- 18:16Speaker 1: don't want them to be favored. No, I know. Because
- 18:19Speaker 1: that's what's been the big motivator. See, I couldn't agree more.
- 18:21Speaker 1: I don't want them to be. But I just figured
- 18:23Speaker 1: Las Vegas would have learned by now. Now, do you
- 18:26Speaker 1: like UK where they put, we didn't talk about it yesterday.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Do you like that? UK is now 15th in the country.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Is that, is that about right? I'd say, yeah. I mean,
- 18:34Speaker 1: with the results we've seen, I think that seems about right. Yeah.
- 18:37Speaker 1: We didn't talk about Notre Dame. Nor do I want to. Yeah.
- 18:41Speaker 1: I don't blame it. Neither do I, but it is,
- 18:43Speaker 1: it is ridiculous. What have they done and proven to
- 18:46Speaker 1: be number two in the country?
- 18:48Speaker 2: So.
- 18:48Speaker 1: We've got to take our first break. 502-384-1450. You want
- 18:52Speaker 1: to call in 502-414-1450 if you want to text in
- 18:57Speaker 1: on the Whiskey Thief text line, or you can tweet
- 18:59Speaker 1: me at justthecatradio. I've got a lot more to talk
- 19:02Speaker 1: about just to let you know. I mean, Lane Kiffin
- 19:05Speaker 1: talking about referees, what they said before the half. You've
- 19:09Speaker 1: got all kinds of awards for this game. uh football
- 19:14Speaker 1: team again and then uh we got to talk about
- 19:17Speaker 1: what the way the media is ranking uk uh and
- 19:20Speaker 1: who the first team second team is going to be
- 19:23Speaker 1: uh for this upcoming basketball season we'll talk about that
- 19:25Speaker 1: as well so stay right there a lot more just
- 19:28Speaker 1: the cats is coming right up I just can't sleep.
- 19:36Speaker 1: I'm so excited. I'm in too deep.
- 19:40Speaker 4: Whoa, crazy.
- 19:40Speaker 1: But it feels all right.
- 19:44Speaker 4: Baby, thinking of you keeps me up all night. 5
- 19:50Speaker 4: 0 2 3.
- 19:56Speaker 3: 8 4 14 50.
- 20:24Speaker 1: If you want to call in 5 0 2 4
- 20:25Speaker 1: 1 4 14 50, you want to text in on
- 20:27Speaker 1: the whiskey thief text line, or you can tweet me
- 20:29Speaker 1: at just the cat radio. So, uh, let's get into
- 20:32Speaker 1: a couple of the text messages. Uh, Michael, John here.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Here are some things I am excited about for this
- 20:40Speaker 1: week and weekend. Today is my son's 20th birthday. Wow,
- 20:45Speaker 1: happy birthday, little John.
- 20:46Speaker 3: Yeah, tell us his name, by the way. I think
- 20:48Speaker 3: it's John.
- 20:48Speaker 1: It is John? I think so. Yeah, so he's no
- 20:52Speaker 1: longer a teenager, so that's a big day for him.
- 20:56Speaker 1: He is such a good young man. Plus, I get
- 20:58Speaker 1: to see my basketball and football cats in action, and
- 21:02Speaker 1: I get to see my Chiefs as well. I love
- 21:05Speaker 1: this time of year. Sports are going great, my friend.
- 21:08Speaker 1: And then he says, Michael, Justin is right about Coach
- 21:12Speaker 1: Pope and this email. I am not shocked John would
- 21:16Speaker 1: say this, okay? Just because I'm right. To me... These
- 21:21Speaker 1: were meaningful words meant to get the young student body
- 21:25Speaker 1: off their bums and cheering, especially if they are going
- 21:29Speaker 1: to complain about the atmosphere and say it is boring.
- 21:33Speaker 1: Then their job is to be there and be loud,
- 21:35Speaker 1: and that will change the atmosphere. We will have a
- 21:40Speaker 1: good team this year. Yes, I agree with you, John.
- 21:44Speaker 1: It is time for them to get off their behinds
- 21:47Speaker 1: and cheer this team on. But I don't think they're
- 21:50Speaker 1: the only ones to blame. I let the atmosphere rep
- 21:55Speaker 1: arena has not been terribly exciting in a long time.
- 21:59Speaker 1: And a lot of it has to deal with people
- 22:01Speaker 1: that come to the games and are of a certain
- 22:04Speaker 1: age and don't really, they're not the cheering kind. They're
- 22:08Speaker 1: the entertaining come. I'm here to be entertained and not
- 22:12Speaker 1: get into this game. That's my biggest criticism. I mean,
- 22:15Speaker 1: if they want to listen, I like the eruption end zone.
- 22:19Speaker 1: But everybody else are a good, I shouldn't say everybody else,
- 22:22Speaker 1: a good portion of the lower bowl doesn't get involved
- 22:26Speaker 1: in the game like they should. And that has been
- 22:29Speaker 1: my biggest criticism for a long time. I mean, it's
- 22:33Speaker 1: an older generation, okay? I wish they would get into
- 22:37Speaker 1: the game. I don't care if you have a hard
- 22:40Speaker 1: time standing up. Don't stand up. But at least cheer,
- 22:44Speaker 1: clap for your team, yell, do something to get this
- 22:48Speaker 1: rep arena going again. Because there's going to be some
- 22:51Speaker 1: tough games that the one thing that will definitely motivate
- 22:54Speaker 1: your team, Justin, is the fan base getting there and
- 22:58Speaker 1: cheering really loud like the fan base has done for
- 23:01Speaker 1: the football game. Here's what I noticed Saturday night at
- 23:04Speaker 1: that ball game, is that not only the student section
- 23:10Speaker 1: Not only the upper level at Commonwealth Stadium, but the
- 23:14Speaker 1: lower level was standing for a good portion of the game,
- 23:19Speaker 1: especially in the fourth quarter. I don't think anybody sat
- 23:21Speaker 1: down in the fourth quarter. That is what makes a
- 23:25Speaker 1: difference for a team. So if you want this basketball
- 23:27Speaker 1: team to succeed, yeah, we got to get points. Yeah,
- 23:30Speaker 1: we got to have a team that's coached well. Yeah,
- 23:33Speaker 1: we got everything. We all know that. But, you know,
- 23:35Speaker 1: you go and back your team and you support them
- 23:39Speaker 1: in the way they deserve to be supported. I hope
- 23:41Speaker 1: it's not just the student body. I hope it's everybody
- 23:45Speaker 1: else in the lower arena that's out there cheering for
- 23:47Speaker 1: cheering in as well the upper arena because upper arena
- 23:50Speaker 1: is always loud it's the lower arena that just doesn't
- 23:53Speaker 1: get into it so should he send an email to
- 23:55Speaker 1: all the season ticket holders.
- 23:57Speaker 3: Absolutely why shouldn't you series going off i must have
- 24:02Speaker 3: said something.
- 24:04Speaker 1: Shut up, Siri. Well, don't say that now. Y'all got
- 24:08Speaker 1: a good thing going. Well, you know, I've read this before,
- 24:11Speaker 1: not only from a couple of sources. Do you know
- 24:14Speaker 1: that they say, I don't know if this is true
- 24:17Speaker 1: or not, but it was on Google, so therefore it's true.
- 24:20Speaker 1: Just like my wife says, well, it was on Facebook.
- 24:22Speaker 1: It's like, oh, if it was on Facebook, then everything's correct.
- 24:25Speaker 1: The internet never lies.
- 24:26Speaker 2: Oh, no.
- 24:27Speaker 1: But I read this on the internet that if you
- 24:30Speaker 1: are nice to your Siri or your AI, whichever AI
- 24:35Speaker 1: you use, that you will get quicker answers back. If
- 24:39Speaker 1: you are rude to Siri or your AI.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Then slow answers come back to you. They take their time.
- 24:47Speaker 1: Do you think that is true or do you think
- 24:48Speaker 1: that it's false? I don't use a whole lot of
- 24:51Speaker 1: that stuff. Oh, you don't?
- 24:52Speaker 3: I wouldn't know one way or the other. No, I mean,
- 24:54Speaker 3: I've used Siri in the past, but it's never been
- 24:58Speaker 3: for anything serious. It's always just been like, Give me
- 25:01Speaker 3: an answer to something, and she doesn't. Oh, you say
- 25:03Speaker 3: it that way? Give me an answer, Siri. I'm very,
- 25:06Speaker 3: very rude to Siri.
- 25:07Speaker 1: Are you really? Oh, then Siri doesn't like you, Justin.
- 25:09Speaker 1: I'm just telling you. Probably not. You're going to get
- 25:11Speaker 1: slow answers. I haven't used.
- 25:13Speaker 3: Siri on my new phone, so maybe we would get
- 25:15Speaker 3: off to a better start. But, yeah, my iPhone 6.
- 25:18Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, that's crazy. Yeah, my iPhone 6. I love
- 25:23Speaker 1: how you just totally admitted that. Well, that's crazy. You're
- 25:26Speaker 1: answering yourself.
- 25:27Speaker 3: We're on 18, and I just got away from my
- 25:30Speaker 3: 6 a year ago. That's nuts. But no, me and
- 25:33Speaker 3: Siri on that phone did not have a good relationship.
- 25:35Speaker 1: Siri and I. But yes.
- 25:37Speaker 3: See, that's what I would love is Siri came back
- 25:39Speaker 3: and corrected your English.
- 25:41Speaker 1: Oh, I would hate it.
- 25:42Speaker 3: Oh, that would make me happy. Siri would be turned
- 25:44Speaker 3: off so damn fast.
- 25:47Speaker 1: I use it. I mean, I'll have it play music
- 25:50Speaker 1: for me. I'll have it make phone calls for me,
- 25:52Speaker 1: but that's primarily it. See, I can do all that
- 25:55Speaker 1: stuff on my own. Can you really? I just don't
- 25:57Speaker 1: need it. But I'm driving. Well, I mean, you can't
- 25:59Speaker 1: pick up your phone and hit the dial button. Not
- 26:01Speaker 1: when I'm driving, I don't want to. That's so simple. Okay, well,
- 26:06Speaker 1: in some states you're not allowed to pick up your phone.
- 26:08Speaker 1: So if you made that so simple move, you might
- 26:11Speaker 1: be getting pulled over and getting a ticket.
- 26:14Speaker 3: I mean, if I'm just pulling my phone up to
- 26:15Speaker 3: make a call and then it goes on my car speakers,
- 26:17Speaker 3: I shouldn't get in trouble.
- 26:18Speaker 1: Well, I will say I was driving down I-71 away
- 26:22Speaker 1: from downtown towards Brownsboro Road and Gene Slider Expressway yesterday.
- 26:29Speaker 1: And this lady passed by me. And I'm going at
- 26:32Speaker 1: a good pace. And she passes by this red mustang.
- 26:37Speaker 1: And next thing you know, she's getting pulled over. Hell yeah.
- 26:41Speaker 1: That's so satisfying. Is it really? I slowed down as
- 26:45Speaker 1: fast as I could because I'm like, I don't want
- 26:46Speaker 1: to get pulled over as well.
- 26:48Speaker 3: I love nothing more when a car passes me and
- 26:50Speaker 3: then they get pulled over.
- 26:52Speaker 1: It is so satisfying. Yeah, she did. I felt bad
- 26:54Speaker 1: for her. So you were satisfied.
- 26:56Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 26:57Speaker 1: Which is the mean move. I'm feeling bad. And in
- 27:00Speaker 1: my mind, I'm thinking, okay, if I'm getting pulled over,
- 27:02Speaker 1: can I call Jamie real quick? and say, hey, Jamie,
- 27:05Speaker 1: will you talk to this guy and kind of talk
- 27:07Speaker 1: me out of this ticket? It's kind of what I thought.
- 27:10Speaker 1: Maybe you get pulled over by him. Oh, you think so?
- 27:12Speaker 1: That'd be pretty cool. No, I would like that, but
- 27:14Speaker 1: you think Jamie would write me a ticket?
- 27:16Speaker 4: No.
- 27:17Speaker 1: And if you don't know who Jamie is, he's a
- 27:18Speaker 1: longtime listener and texter on this show. I just wonder
- 27:22Speaker 1: if he would write us a ticket. I don't think so.
- 27:25Speaker 1: You don't? Unless it was something egregious, then maybe.
- 27:28Speaker 3: Really?
- 27:28Speaker 1: Okay.
- 27:29Speaker 3: By the way, I've got a new pet peeve while
- 27:31Speaker 3: driving that I figured out last week. It happened to
- 27:34Speaker 3: me two different times.
- 27:35Speaker 1: You ready? I'm ready.
- 27:36Speaker 3: Pulled into a gas station, fuel up. You know, we
- 27:38Speaker 3: all got to do that in our cars from time
- 27:40Speaker 3: to time. Two times in a row last week, there
- 27:44Speaker 3: was a car that pulled into a very busy gas station.
- 27:48Speaker 3: Car pulled into the pump where, you know, you've got
- 27:50Speaker 3: back to back pumps.
- 27:51Speaker 1: Right.
- 27:52Speaker 3: The front pump was open and they stopped at the
- 27:55Speaker 3: back one. And it's like, buddy, I'm right behind you.
- 27:59Speaker 3: You think we could maybe go up to the front
- 28:01Speaker 3: pump so I can get into this back one? So
- 28:03Speaker 3: I had to do the thing where I circled around
- 28:06Speaker 3: and had to back into that spot. Like, what are
- 28:08Speaker 3: we doing? See, if you pull into an empty pump,
- 28:11Speaker 3: pull to the front one. Leave the back one open,
- 28:14Speaker 3: you jack legs.
- 28:16Speaker 1: I love your pet peeve right there because that's a
- 28:18Speaker 1: good one. Because here's the problem. Once he's done filling
- 28:24Speaker 1: up with gas, he's got to go around you. Wouldn't
- 28:26Speaker 1: it be easy just to drive straight out? So me,
- 28:29Speaker 1: when somebody does that to me, I make certain I
- 28:32Speaker 1: am there so he has to drive around me. I
- 28:35Speaker 1: take my time fueling my car. I was so mad.
- 28:37Speaker 1: So I'll put it on the low one where, you know,
- 28:39Speaker 1: how you have the two choices with pumping your gas.
- 28:42Speaker 1: You've got the one that's really fast and one that's
- 28:44Speaker 1: really slow. They say to use the slow one because
- 28:46Speaker 1: you get more gas. Yeah, exactly. All right. So I
- 28:48Speaker 1: use that one and I take my time. And then
- 28:53Speaker 1: if they're not back yet because they might go into
- 28:55Speaker 1: the store, I'll start wiping my windows down. and making
- 28:58Speaker 1: sure my windows are really clean. But he was in
- 29:01Speaker 1: a big SUV, so it was going to take him.
- 29:03Speaker 1: And the license plate was Colorado, so it took everything
- 29:07Speaker 1: in me to not be like, are you stoned? Like,
- 29:09Speaker 1: why would you not go all the way up? See,
- 29:11Speaker 1: maybe that was it. That was it. He wasn't thinking
- 29:13Speaker 1: clearly because he was Cheech and Chong right there, and
- 29:17Speaker 1: he was just having a little too much of the ganja,
- 29:20Speaker 1: and he wasn't thinking clearly. Frustrated the hell out of me.
- 29:24Speaker 1: I hate to tell you that's what I usually do, too, though.
- 29:27Speaker 1: You stop at the back one? Yeah. Why?
- 29:29Speaker 4: I do.
- 29:29Speaker 1: I do.
- 29:30Speaker 3: It's a little bit of an OCD issue with me.
- 29:32Speaker 3: That's such a moronic move.
- 29:34Speaker 1: I know. But only if it's open. If there's a
- 29:38Speaker 1: bunch of pumps that are open, I'll do it then.
- 29:40Speaker 1: But it's kind of a, I have to go to
- 29:41Speaker 1: the same pump every single time. That's one thing.
- 29:44Speaker 3: If the gas station's not busy, then you do it.
- 29:46Speaker 1: Yeah, that's when I do it.
- 29:47Speaker 3: But the two that I stopped at last week were
- 29:50Speaker 3: ridiculously busy. Those were the only two pumps open, and
- 29:54Speaker 3: Jack Legg decides to stop.
- 29:56Speaker 1: Jack leg. What the heck is a jack leg, by
- 29:59Speaker 1: the way? I do like that. 48 Handley said, got
- 30:03Speaker 1: to agree with you, Michael. Thank you, 48 Handley. That
- 30:07Speaker 1: sounded scripted and wooden. Not much different than his press conferences.
- 30:13Speaker 1: The Shroud of Turin is the only sacred cloth. See,
- 30:17Speaker 1: I agree with that, too. My memories of Kentucky basketball
- 30:20Speaker 1: fans is they didn't need any prompting. Yeah, there you go.
- 30:25Speaker 1: So 48 Handley is on my side. I like it.
- 30:30Speaker 1: And then you got Vibrant Sales in upstate New York.
- 30:34Speaker 1: That's good news for horse trainers. Did I hear Gunja? Yes,
- 30:38Speaker 1: you did hear. He can't say it correctly.
- 30:41Speaker 2: Me?
- 30:41Speaker 1: Yeah. Gunja. Gunja?
- 30:45Speaker 3: Correct.
- 30:45Speaker 1: I said Gunja. You always do. Okay. Well, I said Gunja. Mr.
- 30:49Speaker 1: Tardy is here, by the way. Mr. Tardy had to
- 30:52Speaker 1: come from school. Yeah. Well, it doesn't matter. He's tardy
- 30:55Speaker 1: to work. I mean, you come here to be on
- 30:58Speaker 1: a radio show. You got to show up time. You
- 31:00Speaker 1: got to figure out another way to get here. Good morning.
- 31:03Speaker 1: Hang on. Let me turn this mic on. The mic's
- 31:04Speaker 1: not on.
- 31:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:05Speaker 1: Now it is. Okay. Fire away, Quinn. Good morning, guys.
- 31:09Speaker 1: Can you hear me? I can. Okay. Because I turned
- 31:11Speaker 1: down all the headphones just to let you know.
- 31:13Speaker 2: Okay.
- 31:13Speaker 1: All right, you doing okay today, Quinn? I'm doing just fine.
- 31:16Speaker 1: All right, sure. Great Tuesday. No gunja for you today, right? Never.
- 31:20Speaker 1: No gunja. Okay, good. Yeah, his face is turning red already. Anyway,
- 31:25Speaker 1: all right, we got to take another break. Quinn's finally
- 31:27Speaker 1: here so we can start the radio show. That's right.
- 31:30Speaker 2: 502-384-1450.
- 31:30Speaker 1: Quinn, don't let him give you crap. He was late today, too. Sorry, Mr.
- 31:35Speaker 2: Bennett.
- 31:36Speaker 1: Do you see that? That's the way you make up
- 31:39Speaker 1: with a radio host. Well done. I'm still not forgiving
- 31:42Speaker 1: you yet, though. 502-384-1450. What's the text message line? The
- 31:48Speaker 1: game day men's health? No, it's not game day men's health.
- 31:52Speaker 1: On every other show it is, so he's technically right. Okay,
- 31:55Speaker 1: this is just the catch you need to memorize, that
- 31:58Speaker 1: it's whiskey thief text line. Text line. Yeah, and the
- 32:03Speaker 1: phone number is? Oh, my gosh, man. He is on ganja.
- 32:08Speaker 1: On ganja. Whatever the thing is. He's been smoking the dweeb, okay?
- 32:11Speaker 2: 502-414-1450.
- 32:11Speaker 1: We'll be right back. This is just a guess. I'm
- 32:13Speaker 1: going off the rails on a crazy train.
- 32:15Speaker 3: I'm going off the rails on a crazy.
- 32:26Speaker 1: Train.
- 32:48Speaker 4: When you act your age, it suits me fine. That
- 32:56Speaker 4: you treat me like a child.
- 33:00Speaker 1: All right, don't turn this down. Quinn, do you know
- 33:07Speaker 1: who is singing this song? I have no idea. You
- 33:09Speaker 1: have no idea. Justin, you obviously do because you're playing
- 33:12Speaker 1: the music. Correct. Have you ever heard this song before?
- 33:16Speaker 1: I don't think so. All right, let the... There it is.
- 33:19Speaker 1: The chorus. This is from 1982. Maybe I have. Have
- 33:24Speaker 1: you really? Yeah. It's an old song. It's a great song.
- 33:27Speaker 1: But this is Sammy Hagar. Have you ever heard of
- 33:31Speaker 1: Sammy Hagar? No, sir. Of course he hasn't heard of
- 33:33Speaker 1: Sammy Hagar. Sammy Hagar turned 79 years old today. That's it? Yeah. Yeah.
- 33:40Speaker 1: He's a young pup. I see. I think so, too.
- 33:43Speaker 1: I mean, when I was a kid, 79 was old. Yeah.
- 33:49Speaker 1: 79 is not old anymore. I mean, I don't even
- 33:51Speaker 1: think 80. Well, that's because you're close to him. No. Closer.
- 33:56Speaker 1: I can't catch a break today with either one of you, okay?
- 34:00Speaker 1: You both just do the rest of the show. I'm
- 34:02Speaker 1: going to leave, okay? Corey P. from TV will be
- 34:05Speaker 1: here in a little bit. But, no, 79 used to
- 34:09Speaker 1: be old. When my grandfather was 70, and maybe it
- 34:12Speaker 1: is because I'm getting closer to that age, but it
- 34:15Speaker 1: is amazing how these guys are just, Mick Jagger, all
- 34:18Speaker 1: these rock stars are just in their 80s. and out
- 34:21Speaker 1: there rocking like crazy. And it's cool that he's still touring.
- 34:25Speaker 1: He used to be in a band called Van Halen. Okay,
- 34:29Speaker 1: you've heard of Van Halen, okay? Now, he's not the
- 34:31Speaker 1: original singer, David Lee Roth, but when David Lee Roth
- 34:34Speaker 1: was kicked out, he filled in and did, I thought,
- 34:37Speaker 1: a great job. But I'm kind of a fan of both,
- 34:41Speaker 1: Sammy Hagar and David Lee Roth. Now, I think David
- 34:43Speaker 1: Lee Roth is kind of in past time, whereas Sammy
- 34:46Speaker 1: Hagar still sounds great. Quinn, this is like an old
- 34:48Speaker 1: guy's favorite argument. Van Hagar or Van Halen? I know.
- 34:52Speaker 1: They love it. You're exactly right about that. That is
- 34:55Speaker 1: an old guy argument right there. John here, look, if
- 34:59Speaker 1: you pay $ 29. 99 for your AI service, you will certainly
- 35:03Speaker 1: get quicker answers. I use the Grok AI, but it
- 35:08Speaker 1: is awesome and has made my life easier. I'm out.
- 35:13Speaker 1: Are you really? I'm not doing AI. Are you using
- 35:16Speaker 1: AI at all, Quinn? AI is very useful. Exactly.
- 35:20Speaker 2: And how are you using AI? A lot of times
- 35:22Speaker 2: I'll use AI for information. So if I need to
- 35:25Speaker 2: pull together a lot of ideas, AI can go through
- 35:28Speaker 2: different sources and it'll pull it in for you. And
- 35:29Speaker 2: then you can just go read those as opposed to
- 35:31Speaker 2: like having to look for all those by yourself.
- 35:33Speaker 1: But you're not using it to write your papers when
- 35:36Speaker 1: you go to school, right?
- 35:36Speaker 2: A lot of times AI will actually not write your
- 35:38Speaker 2: papers well.
- 35:39Speaker 1: So you got to, you got to. You got to
- 35:41Speaker 1: do them yourself. Is there anything in school that you're
- 35:44Speaker 1: using AI for, Quinn?
- 35:46Speaker 2: No, sir.
- 35:47Speaker 1: Is that the honest answer or the radio safe answer?
- 35:51Speaker 1: He's not looking at me. His face is really red.
- 35:54Speaker 1: Now he's laughing. I don't know. I don't know about this, Justin. Guys,
- 35:59Speaker 1: we're pleading the fifth here. Good answer. But, you know,
- 36:05Speaker 1: when you write in AI, there are dashes in it.
- 36:08Speaker 1: So it's always an indicator that AI has written it.
- 36:11Speaker 1: And these days, you know, they have all these AI
- 36:13Speaker 1: detectors and stuff. You got to write it by yourself.
- 36:16Speaker 1: That's what's so scary is that it's like, wait a minute,
- 36:18Speaker 1: I did write this, and now you're saying that I
- 36:21Speaker 1: didn't write it? No, I did write it. So how
- 36:23Speaker 1: do you prove it at that point that you did
- 36:24Speaker 1: write it? It's a little scary. So I'm staying away. Mr.
- 36:29Speaker 1: Illinois is texting in today. Was a close call today, boys,
- 36:33Speaker 1: but made it to work to visit the house. I
- 36:41Speaker 1: can't believe this guy. Illinois, you are cracking me up.
- 36:45Speaker 1: Let me start over. Was a close call today, boys,
- 36:49Speaker 1: but made it to work to visit the toilet. My
- 36:53Speaker 1: lower end feels more whooped than Lane Kiffin after a
- 36:58Speaker 1: hot yoga session. Main difference is there was no college-age
- 37:02Speaker 1: females giving me motivation to pull through. I don't know
- 37:11Speaker 1: if this is Quinn worthy right here. I'm a little
- 37:14Speaker 1: worried that his mom and dad might not want Quinn
- 37:17Speaker 1: to be on Just the Cats anymore after we have
- 37:19Speaker 1: to read these kind of texts. Mr. Illinois, you make
- 37:22Speaker 1: me laugh. And that, that was just well said right there.
- 37:25Speaker 1: Is that embarrassing to you, Quinn? No, shout out to Illinois.
- 37:32Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. Yeah. Morning constitution achieved. And we really
- 37:35Speaker 1: appreciate the, uh, the information we're getting about that. Um,
- 37:40Speaker 1: let me get, cause this guy's written a lot here.
- 37:43Speaker 1: All right. Uh, Michael sounds like you just need to
- 37:46Speaker 1: travel with Jim Cantore. No, that's a hard pass. So
- 37:50Speaker 1: you can get your fill of hurricanes. I like Jim Cantore.
- 37:54Speaker 1: I'll never forget. I think it was like 10, 12
- 37:57Speaker 1: years ago when we, I think it was Henryville that
- 37:59Speaker 1: had all those tornadoes. Do you remember that? I remember.
- 38:02Speaker 1: I remember we were ground zero for horrible thunderstorms that day.
- 38:09Speaker 1: And Jim Cantore was here. That's a cool guy. Do
- 38:12Speaker 1: you know who Jim Cantore is, Quinn? No idea. He's
- 38:15Speaker 1: the guy that always goes to the major thunderstorms or
- 38:19Speaker 1: hurricanes and works for the Weather Channel. Wherever he is,
- 38:23Speaker 1: watch out. Yeah, exactly. You want to leave when Jim
- 38:25Speaker 1: Cantore leaves. Yeah. I think that commercial that he did
- 38:28Speaker 1: where he went on vacation and people were freaking out
- 38:31Speaker 1: because Jim Cantore was there and people are leaving. I
- 38:33Speaker 1: thought that was a pretty commercial. Well, Scooch, you can
- 38:37Speaker 1: answer your own question. With your experience with IU, did
- 38:40Speaker 1: you enjoy it more before the championship or this year
- 38:44Speaker 1: after it? Because I think that's a great question.
- 38:47Speaker 3: That is a great question and a great way to
- 38:49Speaker 3: look at it. I would say I enjoyed it more
- 38:53Speaker 3: last year. I would agree with that. Before the championship.
- 38:55Speaker 1: But is that because you're looking back at last year
- 38:59Speaker 1: or are you looking at yourself this time last year?
- 39:04Speaker 1: i don't understand what you're asking so in other words
- 39:07Speaker 1: it's easy to say last year was a lot more
- 39:09Speaker 1: fun because now you're looking back at it and you
- 39:11Speaker 1: know that iu won the championship well yeah i mean
- 39:14Speaker 1: that or can you look back at it and say
- 39:16Speaker 1: this time last year i was really having a lot
- 39:19Speaker 1: more fun than i am this year because the expectation
- 39:22Speaker 1: is already there exactly that's it. There's expectations on Indiana
- 39:27Speaker 1: football now. And you're going to get, every week you're
- 39:29Speaker 1: going to get everybody's best shot. And that's, I don't know,
- 39:32Speaker 1: this season hasn't really been all that good for my heart,
- 39:35Speaker 1: if we're being honest. Yeah. There's been some pretty scary games.
- 39:39Speaker 1: Scoots is right. You never go straight to the back pump.
- 39:42Speaker 1: Got to work your way up to that one or
- 39:44Speaker 1: you might get smacked. Always good to prime the pump first,
- 39:49Speaker 1: if you will. I'm telling you. So annoying. Yeah. You've
- 39:54Speaker 1: got your license, right? I do. Quinn?
- 39:56Speaker 4: I do.
- 39:56Speaker 1: All right. When you drive to a gas station, do
- 39:58Speaker 1: you go to the first pump or the last pump?
- 40:01Speaker 1: I go to whatever pump's open, honestly. I don't have
- 40:04Speaker 1: a rhyme or reason for it. Oh, so if the
- 40:06Speaker 1: first pump is open and the second pump is open,
- 40:08Speaker 1: you're just going to the first one?
- 40:10Speaker 4: See?
- 40:11Speaker 1: He's going to the first one. Are you going to
- 40:13Speaker 1: give him a hard time, Justin?
- 40:14Speaker 3: Quinn, what if you've got somebody behind you and there's
- 40:16Speaker 3: only two pumps open, and it's the ones that are
- 40:19Speaker 3: back-to-back from each other? Are you stopping at that back
- 40:21Speaker 3: one or are you pulling through?
- 40:22Speaker 1: I don't really think about it. So I guess I'm
- 40:27Speaker 1: just going to the first one. All right, well, I'm
- 40:29Speaker 1: here to tell you, always pull through. All right, here
- 40:31Speaker 1: we go.
- 40:31Speaker 3: If there's only two pumps open and there's somebody behind you,
- 40:33Speaker 3: go to the front one. Here's a great question right here.
- 40:37Speaker 3: Curious question.
- 40:39Speaker 1: Are you ready? Ready. If Will Stein said pony up,
- 40:43Speaker 1: how would that be received? I think that is a,
- 40:48Speaker 1: cause that's a reference to Mark Stoops last year who
- 40:51Speaker 1: are last year. He knows his couple of years ago
- 40:53Speaker 1: when he said everyone needs to pony up and it
- 40:57Speaker 1: didn't go over well. I think it would with Stein.
- 40:59Speaker 1: Do you really?
- 41:00Speaker 3: He's at a spot where he can, he really can't
- 41:03Speaker 3: do any wrong. So if he came out and said that,
- 41:05Speaker 3: I really think people would be like, Oh.
- 41:07Speaker 1: Yeah, coach Stein. I love the way you go. Oh,
- 41:12Speaker 1: come on now. We're not saying that. Uh, I, Here's
- 41:15Speaker 1: the difference, though, Texter. I don't think Will Stein says that.
- 41:20Speaker 1: At this point, I don't think he says anything like that.
- 41:22Speaker 1: He doesn't have to. People know what the mission is.
- 41:27Speaker 1: And in order to achieve that mission, they've got to
- 41:30Speaker 1: give money. I don't think it's necessary to say that anymore.
- 41:34Speaker 1: And I just don't think that's his style. I think
- 41:37Speaker 1: Mark Stoops got frustrated. And he let his frustration get
- 41:40Speaker 1: the best of him. And his frustration came out in
- 41:43Speaker 1: a negative way. He got a pony up, which to
- 41:45Speaker 1: me was a derogatory comment. Am I off on this, Justin?
- 41:49Speaker 1: You tell me. I don't think. No, I mean, it
- 41:51Speaker 1: was his delivery with it all.
- 41:53Speaker 4: Yes.
- 41:53Speaker 3: And that's the thing with Stein. He would deliver it
- 41:55Speaker 3: in a much better way if he were to say
- 41:58Speaker 3: something similar.
- 41:58Speaker 1: Just like he did to get people in the stands
- 42:01Speaker 1: to come there early. And he made it fun and
- 42:03Speaker 1: he made it exciting. Then all of a sudden.
- 42:05Speaker 3: Also made it illegal by telling them to bring a flask.
- 42:09Speaker 1: I still love that he's– that's going to go down
- 42:12Speaker 1: for a long time as a great comment that went
- 42:15Speaker 1: just completely viral. Now, the thing I'm loving right now,
- 42:18Speaker 1: I talked to you about it a little earlier. SEC
- 42:22Speaker 1: Network put a great tweet out yesterday, and it said,
- 42:27Speaker 1: scariest sight in college football right now for opposing teams,
- 42:30Speaker 1: and it has a picture of Will Stein exactly holding
- 42:34Speaker 1: up two fingers. And he's not– they're not wrong. I mean,
- 42:39Speaker 1: it's just got to be– I would love to go
- 42:41Speaker 1: into the mind of Lane Kiffin right now and ask
- 42:44Speaker 1: him and hopefully get– because I don't think there's any
- 42:47Speaker 1: honest answers he could give. He wouldn't give us an
- 42:49Speaker 1: honest answer. What was he thinking during that game? That's
- 42:54Speaker 1: a great– that's honestly a great question. I know. When
- 42:57Speaker 1: you saw Kenny Minchie, you know, kind of spread out
- 43:00Speaker 1: all his wide receivers. Yeah.
- 43:01Speaker 2: And it was basically– Four D linemen versus five offensive
- 43:05Speaker 2: linemen and Kenny Minchie. I literally told my brother, I
- 43:08Speaker 2: was like, it's going to be a QB sneak and
- 43:09Speaker 2: they're going to get it.
- 43:10Speaker 1: Did you really? So you called it Quinn. I mean,
- 43:13Speaker 1: two yards.
- 43:14Speaker 2: I would have anybody that has, you know, some sort of,
- 43:18Speaker 2: I would have had Miller Moss sneak it.
- 43:23Speaker 1: We maybe make a different decision there. But it was
- 43:27Speaker 1: the parting of the sea. It was just like Moses. Oh, definitely.
- 43:30Speaker 1: And as soon as the gates opened, I was like,
- 43:32Speaker 1: it's over. It's over.
- 43:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 43:34Speaker 1: And I loved how Minchie just ran straight towards that camera.
- 43:38Speaker 1: And everybody comes over and hugs him. You got to admit,
- 43:41Speaker 1: I know you're a UofL fan, but that's okay. But
- 43:43Speaker 1: that was a fun game to watch, wasn't it? Oh, yeah, definitely.
- 43:45Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 43:45Speaker 1: All right. We got to take a break. We'll get
- 43:49Speaker 1: to more of your texts, and I appreciate all the
- 43:50Speaker 1: texts you're sending in. 502-384-1450, you want to call. 502-414-1450,
- 43:54Speaker 1: you want to text in on the Whiskey Thief text line.
- 43:59Speaker 1: And when we come back, we'll have another hour. Plus,
- 44:01Speaker 1: I think Corey P. from TV is coming. Is that right, Justin?
- 44:04Speaker 1: It's Tuesday. Yeah, it is Tuesday. You know what that means. Well,
- 44:07Speaker 1: don't play the music yet. No, don't play his music.
- 44:10Speaker 1: Play whatever. Play Sammy Hagar. There we go. We'll be
- 44:13Speaker 1: right back. This is Justin Katz. Welcome to Just the
- 44:39Speaker 1: Cats with Michael Bennett. Hour two on this Tuesday, and boy,
- 44:46Speaker 1: we got a full house in there with Justin here,
- 44:48Speaker 1: as well as Quinn. Call you Danny Tanner. What's that?
- 44:52Speaker 1: Call you Danny Tanner. Why is that? Full house.
- 44:55Speaker 2: Oh.
- 44:55Speaker 1: Come on, Michael. I was not a full house fan.
- 44:58Speaker 1: You missed out. I'm so sorry. I don't even know
- 45:00Speaker 1: who Danny Tanner is. He's the dad. Oh, he is? Okay.
- 45:03Speaker 1: The blonde-haired guy? No, the dark. What was his actor name, Corey?
- 45:08Speaker 1: Bob Saget. Yeah, there you go. Oh, that guy. Yeah,
- 45:11Speaker 1: who unfortunately passed away not long ago. Which was kind
- 45:14Speaker 1: of sad. Anyway, you're not supposed to talk to... Corey's
- 45:17Speaker 1: not here yet. You don't talk to Corey until I
- 45:20Speaker 1: introduce him, okay? I needed his help. Oh, you did? Okay.
- 45:22Speaker 1: And he provided. Yeah, he did. Well, it's Tuesday, so
- 45:25Speaker 1: you might as well go ahead and play. How unenthusiastic
- 45:29Speaker 1: this has been today. Corey's over here crying, laughing. Whatever.
- 45:34Speaker 1: Y'all just go ahead and do the show. I'll be
- 45:36Speaker 1: around somewhere. Got my button topped to the button just
- 45:40Speaker 1: in honor of Corey. Corey P. from TV. You look dapper, sir,
- 45:43Speaker 1: as always. I do, really. At least he wore his
- 45:45Speaker 1: uniform this week, and he was on time.
- 45:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 45:48Speaker 1: On time, yeah. Yeah, he did wear his uniform, and
- 45:50Speaker 1: he was on time. Like I said during the break,
- 45:52Speaker 1: it's because he hasn't been on TV lately. As soon
- 45:55Speaker 1: as he gets another TV gig, it'll probably be 15,
- 45:58Speaker 1: 20 minutes late. Then when he gets his third one,
- 46:00Speaker 1: he says, yeah, I'm good. I don't need to do
- 46:01Speaker 1: Justin Katz. I mean, clown of a show. You know
- 46:04Speaker 1: me too well. Two wills. See, I told you. Finally,
- 46:08Speaker 1: he admits it. I'm just waiting for the day he
- 46:10Speaker 1: admits he has a girlfriend in Elizabethtown. That's false. Well,
- 46:13Speaker 1: that's not false news. I mean, that is... It is
- 46:16Speaker 1: fake news. Inquiring minds want to know. It's fake news. Okay.
- 46:21Speaker 1: All right, then. Well, do you believe in fake news, Quinn? Sometimes. Good.
- 46:26Speaker 1: Facebook is right about everything, aren't they? Definitely. My gosh, man.
- 46:30Speaker 1: My wife was telling me Saturday that, oh, they've changed
- 46:33Speaker 1: the time of the Alabama-Georgia game. I think it's been canceled.
- 46:36Speaker 1: And I'm like, where did you get that information? She goes, Facebook.
- 46:42Speaker 1: And then she says, yeah, they're changing the time of
- 46:44Speaker 1: the Vanderbilt game. It's going to be played a lot earlier.
- 46:46Speaker 1: Where did you get that information, Patricia? Facebook. Stop reading Facebook, Patricia. Anyway. Yeah.
- 46:54Speaker 1: Stop reading it. Yes, exactly. It's addicting. But anyway, Corey? Uh,
- 47:00Speaker 1: we're going to talk about, uh, your experience Saturday night
- 47:03Speaker 1: in just a bit, but you know, now's your time.
- 47:05Speaker 1: So I'll let you take over.
- 47:07Speaker 5: Well, thank you, sir. Uh, this week is October 11th
- 47:09Speaker 5: through the 17th. Start off with October 11th, 1947.
- 47:13Speaker 1: Whoa. Michael was in college then. No, stop.
- 47:18Speaker 5: UK football defeats number nine, Georgia 26, nothing that stole field.
- 47:23Speaker 1: This is a big one. This is UK's first ever
- 47:24Speaker 1: win against an AP poll-ranked opponent. Wow. 1947 was their
- 47:28Speaker 1: first time doing it. Good gosh.
- 47:31Speaker 5: The polls came out in 36, so it took them
- 47:33Speaker 5: 11 years.
- 47:34Speaker 1: 11 years.
- 47:35Speaker 5: UK held Georgia to 128 yards of total offense, 68 rushing,
- 47:38Speaker 5: 60 passing. And I know you liked this name before,
- 47:42Speaker 5: so I'm going to do it again. Don Dopey Phelps
- 47:44Speaker 5: had a 60-yard punt return touchdown in the first quarter.
- 47:50Speaker 1: I want to know why they called him Dopey.
- 47:53Speaker 3: I think he could probably guess. You don't think he
- 47:55Speaker 3: was too swift. Is that what you're telling me? In
- 47:57Speaker 3: a nice way.
- 47:58Speaker 1: To say it. D-O-P-E-Y. Dopey. Don Dopey. Is that the
- 48:01Speaker 1: way you spelled dopey? I thought. That's the way they
- 48:04Speaker 1: spelled it. Okay. But isn't the character from Walt Disney. D-O-P-E-Y.
- 48:08Speaker 1: D-O-P-E-Y is what I was saying. It is E-Y. Yeah.
- 48:12Speaker 1: That's what I said. D-O-P-E-Y. No, you didn't. You said I-E.
- 48:17Speaker 2: No.
- 48:17Speaker 1: I said I-E because I thought you thought it was
- 48:19Speaker 1: a different spelling.
- 48:21Speaker 2: Okay.
- 48:21Speaker 1: All right.
- 48:22Speaker 3: But this guy was the only one. Dopey's my favorite
- 48:24Speaker 3: player of all time at UK.
- 48:26Speaker 1: Really? Yeah, absolutely. Got to be a fan of Dopey.
- 48:31Speaker 1: He's pretty dope. Oh, wow.
- 48:34Speaker 4: October.
- 48:34Speaker 1: He is with the kids today. Go ahead, Corey. I
- 48:36Speaker 1: am with the kids. I am with the kids today. Oh, well,
- 48:38Speaker 1: you are. Quinn. On Skivity. Oh, my gosh. Love the
- 48:48Speaker 1: Gen X reference right there. Or Gen Z.
- 48:52Speaker 5: October 11th, 1975, the sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live
- 48:55Speaker 5: airs its first episode on TV.
- 48:57Speaker 1: What date? October 11th, 1975. Really? Wow. Are you a
- 49:02Speaker 1: fan of Saturday Night Live? I used to be, yes.
- 49:07Speaker 1: It died a long time ago. I have not watched
- 49:09Speaker 1: Saturday Night Live, I bet you, in 15 years at least,
- 49:15Speaker 1: if not 20. it's a long time yeah adam sandler
- 49:20Speaker 1: chris farley uh phil hartman david spade john schneider that
- 49:25Speaker 1: was my favorite rob schneider rob schneider yeah uh john
- 49:28Speaker 1: schneider was dukes of hyzer but uh and john schneider
- 49:31Speaker 1: did did that pizza Oh, that's Schnatter. Schnatter, Schnatter, whatever. Yeah, yeah.
- 49:37Speaker 1: But John Schneider was in the Dukes of Hazzard, but yeah. Anyway,
- 49:39Speaker 1: but yeah, that to me was the best cast ever.
- 49:44Speaker 1: I agree. Yeah. Created by Lorne Michaels.
- 49:47Speaker 5: The first cast had Dan Aykroyd, John Belushi, Chevy Chase,
- 49:52Speaker 5: George Coe, Jane Curtin, Garrett Morris, Lorraine Newman, Michael O'Donoghue,
- 49:58Speaker 5: and Gilda Radner. It's not a bad first cast.
- 50:01Speaker 1: No, not at all. The show has aired.
- 50:04Speaker 5: A total of 1,011 episodes, over 52 seasons on NBC,
- 50:08Speaker 5: and still going strong.
- 50:10Speaker 1: Is it really? Not according to Mr.
- 50:11Speaker 4: Bennett.
- 50:12Speaker 2: No.
- 50:13Speaker 5: In 2002, TV Guide ranked the show number 10 on
- 50:15Speaker 5: the list of the 50 greatest TV shows of all time.
- 50:19Speaker 1: Are you an SNL fan, Quinn? No, sir. Yeah, see,
- 50:23Speaker 1: nobody watches it anymore. It's dumb. Oh, sorry. That's a
- 50:28Speaker 1: little strong. I apologize. Yeah, it's just not entertaining.
- 50:32Speaker 5: October 12, 2012, the drama thriller film Argo is released
- 50:38Speaker 5: in theaters.
- 50:38Speaker 1: Great movie, yeah. It was good. Oh, Ben Affleck. And
- 50:42Speaker 1: I'm not much of a Ben Affleck fan, but that
- 50:45Speaker 1: was a fantastic movie. I also liked it. Yeah. Did
- 50:49Speaker 1: you see it, Justin? You know my answer. Okay, Quinn,
- 50:52Speaker 1: have you ever even heard of Argo? No, sir. I've
- 50:54Speaker 1: never heard of it either. I like Affleck. It's nice commercials. Yeah. Argo,
- 50:58Speaker 1: blank yourself. But anyway. As you just mentioned, directed by
- 51:02Speaker 1: Ben Affleck. He also stars Ben Affleck. Yes.
- 51:04Speaker 5: Alan Arkin, Bryan Cranston, Tate Donovan, Victor Garber, and John Goodman.
- 51:11Speaker 5: The film grossed approximately $ 136 million domestically. They get the
- 51:15Speaker 5: 22nd highest grossing film of 2012. The film was nominated
- 51:19Speaker 5: for seven Academy Awards, winning three Best Adapted Screenplay, Best
- 51:25Speaker 5: Film Editing, and Best Picture. October 12th, 2019, UK football
- 51:32Speaker 5: defeats Arkansas 24-20 at Kroger Field. This is UK's first
- 51:36Speaker 5: win against Arkansas since 2008.
- 51:39Speaker 1: This is a big one.
- 51:39Speaker 5: This was Lin Bowden's first game as the starting QB
- 51:42Speaker 5: for UK. That's when things took off. UK ran for
- 51:48Speaker 5: 330 yards, including 196 yards and two touchdowns by Lin Bowden.
- 51:52Speaker 1: Are you surprised Lin Bowden is not playing in the
- 51:55Speaker 1: NFL anymore? Uh... A little bit. I think on the
- 51:59Speaker 1: field he should be on a team.
- 52:02Speaker 5: I don't know if it's off the field stuff makes
- 52:05Speaker 5: him warranted to be on a team.
- 52:07Speaker 1: Yeah, which is really sad because, you know, he was
- 52:09Speaker 1: going to play for the Kings and hopefully that was
- 52:11Speaker 1: going to catapult him back into the NFL and that
- 52:14Speaker 1: didn't work out. So I've always been a Lin Bowden fan.
- 52:18Speaker 1: I've always rooted for him. So, anyway, I hope he
- 52:20Speaker 1: lands himself doing something and becoming successful. The way he
- 52:23Speaker 1: did in 2019 is just– Amazing. Yeah, crazy. October 13th, 1989.
- 52:28Speaker 5: The comedy film Look Who's Talking is re-released in theaters?
- 52:33Speaker 1: Nope. Did you see Look Who's Talking? I saw Look
- 52:38Speaker 1: Who's Talking. It was terrible.
- 52:40Speaker 2: Oh.
- 52:40Speaker 1: What was that? John Travolta and... Bruce Willis. Bruce Willis, yeah.
- 52:46Speaker 1: And who was the pretty lady? Kirstie Alley. Kirstie Alley.
- 52:49Speaker 1: I liked her.
- 52:50Speaker 5: Directed by Amy Heckerling. It stars Kirstie Alley, Olympia Dukakis,
- 52:55Speaker 5: George Segal, John Travolta, Abe Vigoda, and Bruce Willis. The
- 53:00Speaker 5: film grossed approximately $ 140. 1 million domestically.
- 53:03Speaker 1: Wow.
- 53:04Speaker 5: Making the fourth highest grossing film of 1989. And some trivia,
- 53:08Speaker 5: Dan Aykroyd, John Candy, Chevy Chase, Steve Martin, and Bill
- 53:13Speaker 5: Murray were all considered for Bruce Willis' role as the
- 53:18Speaker 5: voice of Mikey.
- 53:20Speaker 1: Would anybody else have made a better one? You think so. Oh, absolutely.
- 53:25Speaker 1: I'm not a Bruce Willis fan. Why would you say
- 53:29Speaker 1: that anyway? Because he named like three of your favorite actors. Yeah,
- 53:32Speaker 1: that is true.
- 53:33Speaker 3: I think Bill Murray would have been hilarious.
- 53:35Speaker 1: I'm surprised you're not saying John Candy. Exactly. John Candy too.
- 53:39Speaker 1: That's one guy I really miss is John Candy. Have
- 53:41Speaker 1: y'all seen that documentary they made of him? It was
- 53:45Speaker 1: really good. I have not yet, but I do need
- 53:47Speaker 1: to see it. When Steve Martin is talking about his
- 53:52Speaker 1: role– on planes, trains, and automobiles, and he's talking about
- 53:55Speaker 1: when he goes back to see John Candy sitting at
- 53:58Speaker 1: the railroad station by himself, he gets emotional about it.
- 54:01Speaker 3: He goes, yeah, this was John. I love the fact,
- 54:05Speaker 3: because you think of Steve Martin as a comedian. You're
- 54:08Speaker 3: always laughing.
- 54:09Speaker 1: But to see him get emotional talking about John Candy,
- 54:12Speaker 1: it gives me cold chills right now. It's so sad.
- 54:14Speaker 1: But anyway, go ahead. I'm sorry. The window's open. That
- 54:17Speaker 1: might also give you some cold chills, too. Corey, let's
- 54:21Speaker 1: move on. This is a big one.
- 54:25Speaker 5: October 13, 2007, 19 years ago today.
- 54:28Speaker 1: Ooh.
- 54:29Speaker 5: Number 17, UK football defeats number one LSU, 43-37.
- 54:33Speaker 1: Was it today? In three overtime, the Commonwealth Stadium. Yeah.
- 54:36Speaker 1: My senior year at UK. Was it really? 20 years
- 54:39Speaker 1: ago you graduated from UK? Well, 18 from May of 08. Wow. Fantastic.
- 54:48Speaker 3: You're old.
- 54:49Speaker 1: You are getting old. I'm an old man. I rushed
- 54:53Speaker 1: the field that night. I did, too. I had a
- 54:55Speaker 1: man start tapping me on the shoulder and say, sir,
- 54:58Speaker 1: is this your son? I said, yes. Why? He goes,
- 55:00Speaker 1: would you please ask him to stop pulling grass off
- 55:03Speaker 1: the turf? He's creating a hole. And I looked down,
- 55:07Speaker 1: and Max had so much grass in his pocket, and
- 55:10Speaker 1: he had made a hole. And he smoked it later, right? No,
- 55:12Speaker 1: he did not. He was like nine years old then. Jeez.
- 55:18Speaker 1: Full disclosure, I took grass when we beat Georgia in 2013. 2006.
- 55:22Speaker 1: Did you really? I still have it. We still have
- 55:26Speaker 1: the LSU grass. Yeah. I haven't smoked it yet. I
- 55:29Speaker 1: smoked it. This is UK's first win against an AP
- 55:32Speaker 1: poll number one team.
- 55:34Speaker 5: That's 1964 at Ole Miss. UK's game winning score came
- 55:41Speaker 5: on a seven-yard touchdown pass from Andre Woodson to Stevie
- 55:44Speaker 5: Johnson in the third overtime. And the walkouts were led
- 55:47Speaker 5: on offense by Stevie Johnson. 134 receiving yards and that
- 55:50Speaker 5: one receiving touchdown. Maybe my best night ever in the UK, probably.
- 55:56Speaker 1: Why is that? We beat the top-ranked team. That's all?
- 55:59Speaker 1: For self-explanatory. I thought there was more to it, though.
- 56:02Speaker 1: I just thought there'd be more to the story. I
- 56:05Speaker 1: met the love of my life.
- 56:07Speaker 5: I did do that that night. October 14th, 1994.
- 56:11Speaker 1: Clearly.
- 56:12Speaker 5: The crime film Pulp Fiction is released in theaters.
- 56:17Speaker 1: That's a great movie. Samuel L. Jackson and John Travolta
- 56:20Speaker 1: were unbelievable in that movie. That's going to be a
- 56:23Speaker 1: no for me, dog. Oh, come on. You're missing. Argo
- 56:26Speaker 1: is a phenomenal movie. You've got to go back and
- 56:28Speaker 1: watch that. And Pulp Fiction, it's iconic as far as
- 56:32Speaker 1: I'm concerned.
- 56:33Speaker 3: What I've heard.
- 56:34Speaker 5: Directed by Quentin Tarantino. Stars Rosanna Arquette, Samuel L. Jackson,
- 56:40Speaker 5: Harvey Keitel, Ving Rhames, Tim Roth, Eric Stoltz, Uma Thurman,
- 56:46Speaker 5: John Travolta, Christopher Walken, and Bruce Willis.
- 56:49Speaker 1: That's a cast. That's a huge cast.
- 56:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 56:52Speaker 5: The film grossed approximately $ 107. 9 million domestically, making it the
- 56:56Speaker 5: 10th highest-grossing film of 1994. In 2007, the American Film
- 57:01Speaker 5: Institute ranked the movie number 94 on its list of
- 57:04Speaker 5: the top 100 movies in American cinema history.
- 57:09Speaker 1: October 14, 1995, UK.
- 57:11Speaker 5: Football defeats LSU 24-16 at Commonwealth Stadium.
- 57:15Speaker 1: A lot of LSU wins.
- 57:17Speaker 5: We did play them a lot in this time of
- 57:20Speaker 5: year for a long time.
- 57:22Speaker 1: This is the first time the U.K.
- 57:23Speaker 5: Had back-to-back wins in Lexington against LSU.
- 57:28Speaker 1: That's 1974-1976.
- 57:31Speaker 4: U.K.
- 57:31Speaker 5: Outscored LSU 17-0 in the fourth quarter after trailing the
- 57:34Speaker 5: Tigers 16-7. The Wildcats were led on offense by Ray
- 57:39Speaker 5: McLaurin's 107 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. Another one scoots.
- 57:44Speaker 5: October 15, 1977, number 12 U.K. football defeats number 16
- 57:46Speaker 5: LSU 33-13 in Baton Rouge. What year was that? 1977. Oh,
- 57:52Speaker 5: it wasn't a lot. But Michael was.
- 57:56Speaker 1: Yes, I was. I remember that 77 team. They were great. Yeah,
- 58:01Speaker 1: they were very good. I was 10 years old. I
- 58:04Speaker 1: was minus 12. I was minus 8. On that exact day.
- 58:08Speaker 5: Quinn was minus 74 probably. This was UK's first win
- 58:13Speaker 5: against LSU in Baton Rouge.
- 58:14Speaker 1: It's 1949.
- 58:14Speaker 2: Oh, my.
- 58:17Speaker 5: UK was aided by two non-offensive touchdowns, a 52-yard blocked
- 58:21Speaker 5: field goal return by Archdale in the third quarter, and
- 58:23Speaker 5: an 81-yard pick-six by Dallas Owens in the fourth quarter.
- 58:27Speaker 5: The Wildcats were led on offense by Randy Brooks' 121
- 58:30Speaker 5: rushing yards. I think we'll all enjoy this one. October 15, 1993,
- 58:36Speaker 5: the sports film Rudy is released.
- 58:39Speaker 1: On my fourth birthday. How about that? Are you a
- 58:43Speaker 1: big fan of Rudy? No, I hate Rudy. I think
- 58:45Speaker 1: it's a good movie. I think it's overrated. Are you
- 58:47Speaker 1: a fan of Rudy? I am a fan of Rudy. Rudy?
- 58:51Speaker 1: He likes Ruby. That's one of the few movies that
- 58:54Speaker 1: I do watch. It is, yeah. And, of course, it's
- 58:57Speaker 1: all false. Most of it. Yeah. Not all of it,
- 59:00Speaker 1: but most of it.
- 59:01Speaker 5: Directed by David Anspaugh. Starred Sean Astin. Ned Beatty, who
- 59:06Speaker 5: is from Louisville.
- 59:07Speaker 1: Louisville, yep. Went to Eastern. High School. Shout out. Charles.
- 59:12Speaker 1: I didn't know he went to Eastern. Charles S. Dutton.
- 59:15Speaker 1: John Favreau. Robert Prosky. Lily Taylor. And Vince Vaughn. That's right.
- 59:21Speaker 1: Vince Vaughn was in this. Wasn't this his first movie?
- 59:24Speaker 1: Maybe his first role.
- 59:24Speaker 2: Maybe.
- 59:25Speaker 1: I think so. He was young.
- 59:28Speaker 5: Film grossed approximately $ 22. 9 million domestically, meaning it's the 69th
- 59:32Speaker 5: highest grossing film of 1993.
- 59:34Speaker 1: I think you intentionally look for things just to say
- 59:41Speaker 1: 69 or 67 or any of these. You intentionally look
- 59:45Speaker 1: for that stuff. I can't fudge the numbers, Michael. It
- 59:48Speaker 1: was the 69th highest grossing film of 1993. Interesting how
- 59:51Speaker 1: he said fudge. Go ahead. 2006. Next thing he'll say
- 59:55Speaker 1: is Rocky Road. That's disgusting.
- 59:58Speaker 5: The American Film Institute ranked the movie number 54 on
- 1:00:00Speaker 5: its list of the 100 most inspiring films in American
- 1:00:03Speaker 5: cinema history.
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: Just don't talk about the salmon at Porcini's, okay?
- 1:00:07Speaker 4: I won't. Yet.
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: October 16, 1923. Michael Bennett was around. Oh, come on.
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: The Walt Disney Company is founded. Yeah. Great day. If
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: you love Walt Disney Company. Yeah, it's all right. You do, Quinn?
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: You like Walt Disney? I like Disney. Who doesn't love Disney?
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: Except for you, I guess. I guess me. Yeah, it's
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: way too expensive and way overrated.
- 1:00:30Speaker 5: I mean, it's more than just like Disney World and Disneyland.
- 1:00:33Speaker 5: There's more to it than just that.
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, fine.
- 1:00:36Speaker 5: The company, which was originally called Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio,
- 1:00:41Speaker 5: was founded by Walt and his brother Roy O. Disney
- 1:00:45Speaker 5: in the back half of a real estate office on
- 1:00:47Speaker 5: Kingsville Avenue in Hollywood, California.
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: Oh, wow.
- 1:00:51Speaker 5: As of this year, Walt Disney Pictures has released 131 films.
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: Whoa.
- 1:00:56Speaker 5: And for the 2025 fiscal year, the Walt Disney Company
- 1:00:59Speaker 5: reported revenue of $ 94.
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: 4 billion. Wow. All right. Did any of y'all know
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: who Roy Disney was? Nope. Prior to doing this, no. See, Justin, you? No,
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: I don't think so. It's the first time I've ever
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: heard anything about Walt Disney having a brother. That's wild. Okay.
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: Good for Roy O. Yeah, exactly. Hopefully he made a
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: little cash, too, but his brother got all the credit.
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: Of course.
- 1:01:26Speaker 5: October 16, 2010, UK football defeats number 10, South Carolina,
- 1:01:30Speaker 5: 31-28 at Commonwealth Stadium.
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: I think this might be the last. No, it's not.
- 1:01:36Speaker 5: I was going to say it's the last time I
- 1:01:38Speaker 5: rushed a field, but I think 2011, Tennessee was the
- 1:01:40Speaker 5: last time, actually.
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: Oh, you didn't rush the field Saturday night. I'm working,
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: you know. Okay. Your work was done at that point. Exactly.
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: They didn't need you more. It wasn't done. Yeah.
- 1:01:51Speaker 5: This is UK's largest comeback win in school history. They
- 1:01:53Speaker 5: trailed the Gamecocks by 18 points in the third quarter.
- 1:01:57Speaker 5: This is UK's first win against a Steve Spurrier coach team.
- 1:02:00Speaker 5: Prior to that, they were 0-17 all-time against Steve Spurrier.
- 1:02:05Speaker 5: The Wildcats were on offense by Chris Matthews with the
- 1:02:07Speaker 5: 12 receptions, 177 receiving yards, and a touchdown reception. October 17th, 1997.
- 1:02:15Speaker 5: The horror film, I Know What You Did Last Summer,
- 1:02:17Speaker 5: is re-released.
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: Never saw it. I think I did see that one.
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: It's good stuff.
- 1:02:23Speaker 5: Directed by Jim Gillespie, Bill's brother. Stars Johnny Galecki, Sarah
- 1:02:29Speaker 5: Michelle Gellar, Anne Heche, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Ryan Phillippe, Freddie
- 1:02:35Speaker 5: Prinze Jr.
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: and Bridget Wilson. You know who Freddie Prinze Jr. is
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: married to? Miss Prudence. Yeah, exactly. Thank you.
- 1:02:44Speaker 5: Film grossed approximately $ 72. 6 million domestically, making the 20th highest-grossing
- 1:02:49Speaker 5: film of 1997. And the film was nominated for six
- 1:02:53Speaker 5: Blockbuster Entertainment Awards, winning three for Favorite Actress, Favorite Female Newcomer,
- 1:02:59Speaker 5: and Favorite Supporting Actress in a Horror Film.
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: Sarah Michelle Gellar. Oh, they were in the film together. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: Maybe that's where they met. Maybe. Yeah.
- 1:03:10Speaker 5: Last one, October 17, 2020, UK football defeats number 18, Tennessee, 34-7.
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: This early? Wow.
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: It's crazy.
- 1:03:21Speaker 5: This is the only game I haven't been to in
- 1:03:22Speaker 5: Knoxville since 2006, and, of course, it's the only time
- 1:03:25Speaker 5: they've won in Knoxville.
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: Yeah. Sorry. That was John Schlarman's last game.
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:03:30Speaker 5: This is UK's first win against Tennessee in Knoxville since 1984.
- 1:03:33Speaker 5: UK had two pick sixes in the second quarter, 41
- 1:03:37Speaker 5: yards by Kellen Jost, Kelvin Joseph.
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: Is that also their last win in Knoxville? Yes. I'd
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: say yes.
- 1:03:43Speaker 5: And 85 yards by Jamin Davis. And the Wildcats were
- 1:03:47Speaker 5: led on offense by C-Rod's 73 rushing yards and one
- 1:03:51Speaker 5: rushing touchdown.
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: I have a question for you. Okay. If you're ready.
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: I'm just saying. I don't know. I'm sitting right here.
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: I know. Friday night, what were you doing? Doing stats.
- 1:04:07Speaker 3: Really?
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: Where were you doing stats, Mr. Price? At LNN Federal
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: Credit Union Stadium. Did you know this, Justin? I did
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: know this. Say that ten times fast. Yeah. You got
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: to do whatever you got to do to get some money. Oh,
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: so you got paid for this gig? Yeah, I wouldn't
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: do it for free. Come on, Michael Bennett. Wow, I
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: don't know. You think I would do stats at Louisville
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: for free? That's a check I don't know if I'd
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: want to touch. It's a check that I'm willing to.
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: Corey, it is admittedly a lot easier of a stat keeping.
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: Than a Kentucky. I'm not invested. I don't care. I
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: don't care. Did you run out of lead for Isaac Brown?
- 1:04:46Speaker 5: I did have a lot of stats for him and
- 1:04:47Speaker 5: just them in general. They rushed for almost 400. They
- 1:04:51Speaker 5: had 400 and then they took two knees.
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: Who invited you? Who asked you to do this?
- 1:04:58Speaker 5: Sports USA Live is a national radio company. And they've
- 1:05:03Speaker 5: been doing pro football and pro hockey for years.
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: Okay. And they did college football for a while. They stopped. Right.
- 1:05:09Speaker 5: And this year, they're bringing it back. So, I think
- 1:05:13Speaker 5: Friday was the first game this year doing college football.
- 1:05:15Speaker 5: And so, the play-by-play and color guy that they have
- 1:05:20Speaker 5: for the game, they don't have their own stat guy
- 1:05:22Speaker 5: or spotter. So, I did the Pat's Bengals game for
- 1:05:26Speaker 5: this company back in 2024.
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: Oh, did you really? Nice.
- 1:05:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: And since he's so.
- 1:05:31Speaker 5: Same guy asked me for stats, and then he asked
- 1:05:33Speaker 5: me if I knew a spotter. So I asked Zach Hurst,
- 1:05:35Speaker 5: who's a spotter for us, for UK, if.
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: He wanted to do it, and he did it. One
- 1:05:41Speaker 3: person texted, Dopey is no Pookie.
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: Pookie Jones, yeah. That is true. Pookie Jones was great.
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: It said how much of a jerk Chevy Chase is
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: in real life. That's all I've ever heard about Chevy Chase.
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: He is not a nice person. What's the line? Don't
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: meet your heroes earlier? Yeah. I've been lucky enough to
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: meet a few of mine, and they've all been exceptionally nice.
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: Have you met your hero, Quinn? You're shaking your head yes.
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: I agree. I met a couple people. I think Quinn
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: is staring right now at my hero, Michael Bennett. That's right.
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: That's right. Yeah, good job. That's right. Who is the
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: hero you met? I mean, I don't think he's a
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: hero right now, but I met Flory the other day. Who?
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: Flory Badunga.
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: He can't really be a jerk because he's kind of
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: hard- hard for him to speak English. So he is
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: pretty nice. I mean, he tried his best to kind
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: of talk with me. I met Michael Brown when he
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: first got on campus at the baseball game. He was
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: pretty nice. Lincoln Keenholz was at the golf course that
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: I work at. He didn't seem like he wanted anybody
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: to come up to him because he's at like, you know,
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: out in nature at the golf course, but he is like, Yeah,
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: I'll take a picture with you. Yeah.
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: That's pretty cool.
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: By the way, speaking of maybe a hero for one
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: of y'all, somebody reached out to me yesterday, well, to
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: the trainer, asking if I might be interested in selling
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: a portion of the horse that won last week, Hunting Goodwill.
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: You said hell no. Hunting Goodwill, that's a great name. Yes, exactly,
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: because the Jockey Club would not allow Goodwill Hunting. So
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: it's a gray horse.
- 1:07:14Speaker 3: Can you name who might have reached out to find
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: out if I might be interested in selling a.
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: Portion of the horse? Bobby. Baffert. Nope. You ready?
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: Luke.
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: No. It's not a trainer. It's an owner. Oh, Jason Ward. Nope. Close.
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: Dave Portnoy.
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: Then you said hell no.
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: Yeah. Right? How do you like that? He's not mine.
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: Because you know why? He's not mine. All the horses
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: that he owns are gray. And that's the name of
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: his stables. Go Grays Go or something like that. Are
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: you going to bump the price up? Oh, boy. Yeah.
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: I will say the guy that's representing me bumped the
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: price way up just to let you know. Like six times? Yeah. Oh,
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: like a bunch. Six, seven times? Oh, yeah. Yeah.
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: Uh, Oh geez. Okay. Uh, it said, uh, let's see, uh, scoots.
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: Would you like a Royale with cheese? Do y'all get
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: the reference to that? Uh, just, just, what do they
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: call a big Mac in France? Yeah.
- 1:08:14Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: A Royale with cheese.
- 1:08:15Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: And cause that's, that's the line that John Travolta had in, uh, okay, good. Uh,
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: Freddie Pence jr. And Sarah, Michelle Gellar were also in
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: Scooby-Doo together. I didn't know that. Uh, uh, Love Trivia Day.
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: Gilda Radner was married. Well, this is not trivia, but
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: this is trivia. But they can listen to trivia on
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: Thursdays at 12.30 p.m.
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: Okay, well, thanks. I appreciate you plugging the other show.
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: This same station. He didn't plug the other show. Yeah,
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: he did. No, he didn't. He never once said the
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: name of it. It's okay. He just said it at 12.30
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: on this station. All right, Gilda Radner was married to
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: Gene Wilder. I knew that. You're right. You mentioned 79
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: spectacular bid, won the Derby that year, but he dealt,
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: trained him. He was my, by bold bidder who was
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: by bold ruler. Oh my gosh. Who was the Cyrus secretariat?
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: No AI or Google here. Enjoy this beautiful day. Thank
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: you for you to handle it. So they know they're horses.
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: We got to get going, but you had what kind
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: of a time on Saturday night being with Jeff Kuro and,
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: Tom Leach, I mean, it must have been an unbelievable
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: moment there in the booth during UK's win over LSU. Yeah,
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: it was.
- 1:09:26Speaker 5: I mean, the whole, like, before the game even started,
- 1:09:29Speaker 5: the fans were there early and loud. They were loud
- 1:09:32Speaker 5: the whole game, which there's a lot of games where,
- 1:09:34Speaker 5: you know, there's spurts where they're kind of, you know,
- 1:09:37Speaker 5: not doing a whole lot. But, I mean, the whole
- 1:09:38Speaker 5: game crowd was just crazy. So, I mean, the last play,
- 1:09:42Speaker 5: I mean, the booth game will come out, I'm sure,
- 1:09:45Speaker 5: probably tomorrow or Thursday.
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: You'll see. I mean, it just. Tom is cool, but
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: he gets excited now.
- 1:09:52Speaker 5: I mean, like he, he, he yells, but like, it's
- 1:09:55Speaker 5: sort of like body, you know?
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: Oh, okay. Yeah. He's sitting down. He's no body movement.
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: Yeah. But the rest of us are just going berserk
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: behind them. What was Jeff? I actually hugged Jeff. Oh,
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: I did. It was, uh, I can't wait to watch this.
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: It was, I can't either.
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: I might have to have Jeff come on and confirm this.
- 1:10:16Speaker 5: I'm sitting for 99.9% of the plays, but that last play,
- 1:10:20Speaker 5: I was standing and, yeah, just went berserk.
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: It was just... That's awesome. Yeah, it was. And it
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: was just.
- 1:10:28Speaker 5: My whole life, I've had one perception of UK football,
- 1:10:32Speaker 5: and I think I... Starting this year, I'm going to
- 1:10:34Speaker 5: have to change it. Like, I've got this mindset of, like,
- 1:10:36Speaker 5: how are we going to lose games?
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: I see, and I'm right there with you. You're exactly correct.
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: And now I've got to think, how are we going
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: to win this game? Trevor's been calling it Stoops Brain, Corey. Well, no,
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: and you know that's not it, though. It's not Stoops. It's...
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: It was way before that. It's Guy Morris.
- 1:10:50Speaker 5: It's Joker Phillips. It's Bill Curry. It's Howe Mummy. It's
- 1:10:54Speaker 5: my whole life.
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: Jerry Claiborne. I mean, I go back to Fran Kersey.
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: I guess it started probably with me. It wasn't Bill Curry.
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: I mean, it wasn't Jerry Claiborne. It probably was Bill Curry.
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: It's like, okay, we're going to lose this game. And
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: it just didn't change because you're right. It went from
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: Bill Curry to Howe Mummy to Guy Morris to Joker
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: Phillips to But not so much– well, yeah, it was
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: a little bit of Coach Brooks. A little bit. And
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: then you had Joker Phillips that just plummeted the program
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: all over again. And Mark Stoops had to start from scratch.
- 1:11:32Speaker 5: I mean, Scoots, I'm sure it's like you, like, what,
- 1:11:35Speaker 5: 2024 is when IU started getting the ball rolling, right?
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: Yep.
- 1:11:40Speaker 5: So, I mean, for you, you had to go from
- 1:11:43Speaker 5: how are we going to lose to how are we
- 1:11:45Speaker 5: going to win, right?
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:11:46Speaker 3: I mean, I've gotten to a point where the next
- 1:11:49Speaker 3: game Indiana loses, I'm going to be insanely mad.
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: Which will probably be this Saturday. Eh, I'm not convinced
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: of that. Well, I am. Suck excuse. Well, what's going
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: to happen Saturday versus Oklahoma? You know, I could be wrong.
- 1:12:03Speaker 5: I think I predicted a loss in every road game,
- 1:12:06Speaker 5: and we won them all. So I'm going to predict
- 1:12:07Speaker 5: a loss.
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: Yeah, but that's not sincere. But I'm keeping with the mojo. OK,
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: I hope you're right. But listen, I think it's going
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: to be a tough game. I don't care what anybody says.
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: I'm hoping it's a letdown for Oklahoma because they just
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: beat the number one team in the country. You're shaking
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: your head. Yes, Quinn.
- 1:12:25Speaker 3: So you kind of feel the same way. But I
- 1:12:29Speaker 3: hope it is going to be a fun game. I
- 1:12:32Speaker 3: know this, and this is not a prediction. I'm telling you,
- 1:12:36Speaker 3: I think this is going to be the biggest UK
- 1:12:39Speaker 3: away fan base that UK's ever seen in their life.
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: Aren't you going, Corey?
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: I am.
- 1:12:43Speaker 5: I mean, I think they show up in droves when
- 1:12:47Speaker 5: they go to Nashville for Vandy.
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: Well, the Vandy game is in Lexington. I'm saying when
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: they do go to the Vandy. Well, maybe Knoxville this
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: year will be a big one.
- 1:12:58Speaker 5: They show up in droves. But, yeah, I'm looking forward
- 1:13:01Speaker 5: to it. We've only played Norman once. It was 1980.
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: We have played there before. One time. I didn't realize that.
- 1:13:08Speaker 5: I wasn't even born yet, so I'm looking forward to it.
- 1:13:11Speaker 5: On paper, their offense is, I'll say it, awful. They're
- 1:13:16Speaker 5: like 100th or worse than every major stat in offense.
- 1:13:19Speaker 5: So I'm hoping our defense can create some pressure.
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: All right. Well, have fun. I'm looking forward to talking
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: to you next Tuesday, hopefully with a win. Well, that's
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: the thing. I won't be getting back to Louisville until
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: late Tuesday. Wow.
- 1:13:36Speaker 5: My friend and I are making an actual trip out
- 1:13:38Speaker 5: of it.
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: Oh, that's nice. Okay. Would you like to come in
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: Wednesday then?
- 1:13:41Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: You want to make the deal Wednesday? Sure. We can
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: talk about it. Only if you want to. Don't let
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: me disturb Corey from TV. Do a hump day version
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: of it. Hump day. Oh, there we go. Yeah, I
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: can't say it right now. It's not hump day. So, Corey,
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: have fun. Safe travels.
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: Safe travels. Thank you. I hope it's a good time
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: for you. I hope so, too. Take lots of pictures.
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: That's what I always say. I will on my iPhone 13.
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: That's Corey Price. Wow, that's a little slam right there.
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: Suck it, Scoots. But Corey Price, Corey P. from TV,
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: we love it when you come in on Tuesdays. We're
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: going to take a break right now. This is Justin Cass. Crazy.
- 1:14:18Speaker 4: Does that make me crazy? Crazy.
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: All right, 502-414-1450. You want to text in on the
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: Whiskey Thief text line. I will give a shout out.
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: Are you ready for this, Justin? Yeah, I'm ready. I'll
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: say it. Notre Dame head coach, Marcus Freeman. Yes. Yeah.
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: That was really, really cool. Yeah. He actually meant to
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: pull that up and play this morning. Oh, did you really? Okay.
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: He gave a shout out to his former backup quarterback,
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: Kenny Pinchy. My goodness. Where is that coming from? Kenny
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: pinch me. I mean, might as well call pinch me. Boy,
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: this season is gone. Might as well pinch me. Kenny
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: Minchie said he got home Saturday night after his ball
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: game up at Notre Dame to watch the final two
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: minutes of the game and said, you talk about a
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: proud coach, man, like I couldn't have been more proud
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: of him. And I thought that was pretty nice. That was. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: I mean, he didn't have to come out and say anything. No,
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: he didn't.
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: I'm sure you and I, when we saw that quote
- 1:15:37Speaker 3: yesterday or that video, we probably had a similar mindset of,
- 1:15:41Speaker 3: I don't really like this guy, but he's going out
- 1:15:43Speaker 3: of his way to talk about Minchie and how well
- 1:15:45Speaker 3: he's playing.
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: That was pretty cool. I thought it was, and I
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: did have to mention that. So good for him for
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: doing that, and I'm sure Kenny really appreciated it as well. Mm-hmm.
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: So now let's talk about a couple of players that
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: are getting some much needed, I would say, well, second
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: time for a one player, but. attention and awards for
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: this past weekend. Brock Coffin, wide receiver and punt returner.
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: If you remember, he had that 55-yard punt. Was named
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: co-special teams player of the week in the SEC. Rightfully so. Yeah,
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: I would agree with that. And then wide receiver, no
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: surprise here, Kenny Darby, named freshman of the week, freshman
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: player of the week in the SEC for second consecutive week.
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: caught four passes for 79 yards, and some really crucial
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: ones towards the end of the game and in overtime.
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: But my goodness. Kenny Darby, I hope they are working
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: right now on his contract for next season. You have
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: to be knowing that every coach out there that is
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: of a significant team is looking at Kenny Darby and saying,
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: what do we have to do to get him? He
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: does not play like a freshman.
- 1:17:06Speaker 4: No.
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: At all. I mean, seriously. You look at this, Quinn.
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: This kid is only two years older than you. And
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: you see the success he's having. What do you say?
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: That's just nothing short of amazing, isn't it? Yeah, I mean,
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: I couldn't do the stuff that he's doing out there.
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: Not many people can. Yeah, I mean, it's crazy.
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: There's a lot of youngins out there in the college
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: football world that are making impacts right now.
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: Kenny Darby.
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: You got some freshmen out there, Bryce Young, or Bryce
- 1:17:33Speaker 2: Underwood a little bit, a little overshot there at Michigan.
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: But there's a lot of people with big impacts, and
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: I think we'll see the same in basketball coming up
- 1:17:41Speaker 2: this year. And we're seeing it all around, you know,
- 1:17:44Speaker 2: the college sports. The draft are filled with young people
- 1:17:47Speaker 2: that are doing good. Well, and, you know, it's a
- 1:17:49Speaker 2: nice little segue right there. Are you ready for where
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: UK is picked by the SEC media this year within
- 1:17:56Speaker 2: the basketball?
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: I know, I know. I'm ready. Yeah, seventh. How do
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: we feel about that? Because they say, which is no surprise,
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: and I could not agree with this more. Florida's going
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: to finish one, Texas two, Arkansas three.
- 1:18:12Speaker 3: I'm not buying the hype on Texas.
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: Are you not? I'm just not. Well, hold on. UT
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: is four, Alabama five, Vandy six, and then UK. I'm
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: with you. I'm not buying Texas, and I'm going to
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: go even a step further. I'm not buying Tennessee at four. Yeah,
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: I'm right there with you. So is Arkansas happy with Cal?
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: Because he's not being picked one. And I wonder, do
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: they think they got the right coach? Or did they
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: fall in? Three. Oh, okay. Which is not bad, but
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: Texas is two? And then Vanderbilt is ahead of UCF.
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: This is where I'm having a problem with Mark Pope.
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: I mean, he said he was going to come in
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: and bring the program back. And to me, if anything,
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: the program's fallen further away. Where am I wrong about this?
- 1:19:03Speaker 3: This isn't an indication of Pope, I don't think. This
- 1:19:06Speaker 3: is an indication of some goofy sports writers that, don't
- 1:19:09Speaker 3: have their pulse on what's happening in the SEC. I
- 1:19:12Speaker 3: hope you're right, but I do think it's an indication
- 1:19:14Speaker 3: on Pope. You can't know how this season's going to play.
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: Oh, of course not.
- 1:19:18Speaker 3: Doing preseason rankings nowadays has got to be so much
- 1:19:21Speaker 3: harder than it used to be.
- 1:19:22Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: Just because of the transfer portal and all that. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: All right, well, let's get back to a little bit
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: of football. Do you think midway through the season, if
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: the season was over right now, Will Stein would be
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: coach of the year? In the SEC or in the country?
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: Let's do both. SEC first and then the country. Quinn?
- 1:19:48Speaker 2: I think SEC, definitely. I think, you know, he's done
- 1:19:51Speaker 2: a great job so far. He's knocked off a couple
- 1:19:54Speaker 2: big-time teams, Texas A & M and LSU. Country, though,
- 1:19:57Speaker 2: I really like UCLA's Bob Chesney, though.
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: That's the name I was thinking. All right, here's my problem, though,
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: with Bob Chesney. Yes, he's 5-0, but he's only beaten
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: one ranked team. So far.
- 1:20:10Speaker 3: Right, but we're talking about halfway through the season now. Well,
- 1:20:13Speaker 3: they've only played five games, so they're not halfway through.
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: Okay. All right, then. Who did they play this weekend?
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: I don't even know smart.
- 1:20:20Speaker 2: USC.
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: All right. They play USC. Oh, this weekend or last week?
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: This weekend. They just played Oregon. They just played Oregon
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: and beat them. That's the only ranked team that they've beaten.
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: UK has beaten two top ten teams. That's why I
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: would say, I know it's my bias coming out, but
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: I give that, if it was anybody else, I would
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: give that a little bit more of a lean because yes,
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: he lost one game, but again, it was against a
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: top 10. So he's played three top 10 teams and
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: gone two for three. That's pretty stinking good. Where Bob Chesney,
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: I agree, remarkable job at UCLA, but he's only beaten
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: one top 20 team.
- 1:20:56Speaker 3: Well, and he's only got one more opportunity as the
- 1:20:58Speaker 3: schedule stands now with USC in the last week.
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: So don't you think that's a little unfair to say
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: to Will Stein, wait a minute now, even though you
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: beat two top 10 teams, you faced three top 10 teams.
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: But Bob Chesney gets to lean on that? They're in
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: similar situations.
- 1:21:16Speaker 3: I mean, you're at a basketball powerhouse where your football
- 1:21:20Speaker 3: has always kind of just been blah. So, I mean,
- 1:21:23Speaker 3: they are in similar situations, and I wouldn't hate if
- 1:21:25Speaker 3: you went one way or the other.
- 1:21:27Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:21:27Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: All right, then. Well, let's go ahead and take our
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: last break. 502-414-1450. We're going to call back. Let's talk
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: about what Lane Kiffin had to say. We didn't get
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: a chance to talk about that yesterday, but– Are we
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: believing this, or is this a little bit of an exaggeration?
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: Stay right there. One more second, and Jessica's coming right up.
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: All right, we're back for our last segment.
- 1:22:27Speaker 4: 502-414-1450.
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: All right, so Lane Kiffin made a comment after the game.
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: And we didn't get to talk about this yesterday, Justin.
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: He said that the line judge... Now, we're talking about
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: the play at the end of the first half where
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: UK lined up and the whole tush... What is it called?
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: Tush push. And after the touchdown right before the second half.
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: And he said that the line judge made the comment
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: he'd be killed... if he would have blown the whistle
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: before the play being stopped, even though it appeared to
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: be stopped. Do we believe that Lane Kiffin was told
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: this by the line judge or is he, because you know,
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: this is what I think about. I think about the
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: whole Kenny Minchie thing that they put up graphic at
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: their practice facility of Minchie saying that their defense hasn't
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: seen our offense. And so when I see that Lane
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: Kiffin has said the line, just he'd be killed if
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: he'd have blown that whistle dead. I tend to believe
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: that it was a bit of an exaggeration. Is that
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: wrong for me to think that?
- 1:23:47Speaker 3: Is it wrong that I just don't believe anything Lane
- 1:23:50Speaker 3: Kiffin says?
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: See, yeah, I'm right there with you. No, it's not.
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: I think he tends to exaggerate. I don't want to
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: call the guy a liar, but I think it's a
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: little bit of exaggeration there. And people have gotten it
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: on video where they are chit-chatting, but you can't really
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: see what the referee is saying or the line judge
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: is saying. I mean, Quinn, what do you think? Do
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: you think Lane Kiffin, at least, you're a man of
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: the people here. I mean, you're with the youth of
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: the United States today. Do you believe anything that comes
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: out of Lane Kiffin's mouth? I definitely don't believe a
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: lot of what Lane Kiffin says.
- 1:24:22Speaker 2: That's definitely– we were talking about, you know, being careful
- 1:24:28Speaker 2: on what sources you listen to earlier in the show,
- 1:24:31Speaker 2: and Lane Kiffin is not at the top of the
- 1:24:33Speaker 2: list of ones you should trust. I will say, after
- 1:24:37Speaker 2: the game, when– I don't know who took the video,
- 1:24:40Speaker 2: but when the student dunked on the LSU faculty on
- 1:24:43Speaker 2: the sideline, that was pretty funny.
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: That was awesome. Yes.
- 1:24:47Speaker 3: And the fact that they kept the basketball, too, I
- 1:24:50Speaker 3: think was brilliant. Did you see the tweet from Kentucky football?
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: No. After the game?
- 1:24:55Speaker 2: No.
- 1:24:56Speaker 3: They tweeted a picture of the final score and Kenny
- 1:24:58Speaker 3: Menchie pointing after his two-point conversion.
- 1:25:01Speaker 2: Oh.
- 1:25:01Speaker 3: And the tweet says, LSU's defense hasn't seen anyone like
- 1:25:04Speaker 3: us or our offensive line yet.
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: I thought that was perfect. That's the way you come back. Absolutely.
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: That's in great form right there. All right, let's get
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: back to the Whiskey Thief text line. One person said, Michael,
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: I know why Lane Kiffin was– no, that's from yesterday.
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: Sorry about that. My gripe with Chesney is you see
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: it every– Oh, my gosh, man. You see it every
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: year now. A coach leaves a program and takes the starters.
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: Chesney brought over 11 from JMU, similar to what Sig did.
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: I'm more impressed with Stein so far. That is a
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: great point. So if he brought a lot of his
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: players over and Will Stein did not, I mean, that's
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: pretty impressive. Because Will Stein did build this team from scratch. Mm-hmm.
- 1:25:52Speaker 3: I do think if you're just looking at the schedules,
- 1:25:55Speaker 3: you know, Will Stein's got the better argument.
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: Yes. Better wins, harder teams you're playing against. Yeah. But
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: I think it's close. Uh, one person said Michael's problem
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: with Bob Chesney is the name. He's letting his Kenny
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: hate guide him. That's true. Oh, oh, that's a good
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: call right there. That's not true, but that's a good call. Now, uh,
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: now you gave me a reason not to like Bob Chesney. Yeah.
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: And he's uncle. Yeah. Oh, is it really? Or is
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: it not? No. Okay. I don't think they're related at all. Uh,
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: What did you think of the Bills' Rams overtime win
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: last night on Monday Night Football? I think I'm a
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: moron for going to bed. Really? But that was not–
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: I do like all the people that are saying that
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: there was a tweet that– I think it was Nick
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: Roush put it out that Will Stein is not happy
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: with the head coach with the Rams. What's his name?
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: Sean McVay. Sean McVay, thank you. Because he went for
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: one and Will Stein would have gone for two. Yeah,
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: I thought that was great. Pretty good. The real fireworks
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: were after the game. Did you see where Rams' Alaric
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: Jackson throws a punch at Bill's Chubb, Bradley Chubb? What
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: are we doing?
- 1:27:08Speaker 2: What was that about? What are we doing these days?
- 1:27:11Speaker 2: Why is everybody punching people? Well, that's going to get
- 1:27:14Speaker 2: somebody a suspension. And it kind of looked like Chubb
- 1:27:19Speaker 2: was putting his hand on Jackson's face. It was far,
- 1:27:24Speaker 2: but you could clearly.
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: See the punch that Jackson threw towards Chubb. I just
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: saw it. Oh, you did? You hadn't seen it? No. Oh,
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: I'm kind of surprised. I went to bed. I told you. Oh, yeah. Well,
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: I thought you would have looked it up. At least
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: he punched him without his helmet on. Yeah.
- 1:27:41Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: Well, that's true. We're making progress.
- 1:27:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: The U.K. Vandy game has been announced. As far as
- 1:27:48Speaker 1: the time, it will be 7.30 on October 24th, making
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: it another double hitter for all the fans out there.
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: I'd kill for a night game. Would you? At IU?
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: I would kill for one. Yeah.
- 1:28:00Speaker 3: The only one we've had so far is on the
- 1:28:02Speaker 3: road at Rutgers. It's going to be a break.
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: Why are they playing? So what time are they mostly
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: playing their games? Noon.
- 1:28:07Speaker 3: Oh, that's terrible. We play Ohio State at noon. We're
- 1:28:09Speaker 3: on the road next week at Michigan at noon.
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: Yeah. It sucks. Well, Commodore is so far 3-3 this year.
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: Of course, that's quite the difference from losing Diego Pavia.
- 1:28:21Speaker 1: And they're 0-3 in the SEC. So, it's going to
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: be another night game for UK, which is just going
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: to be awesome. Everybody's going to go to Keeneland. I'm
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: going to Keeneland that day. I've got a horse racing
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: that day. Cosmic Creed. So, take note there, my friend. Okay? So,
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: you can gamble on it. I got it. Yeah. Yeah, girl. me,
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: but I got it. 48 Handler said, who y'all got
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: between Louisville, Kentucky and football? That game's going to freaking rock.
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: I can speak on this. It's a little early yet,
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: but okay. Quinn, go ahead and speak on it. All right, guys.
- 1:28:55Speaker 2: So I know we are on a Kentucky radio show here.
- 1:28:57Speaker 2: So I will say this very lightly. But I've kind
- 1:29:01Speaker 2: of been thinking this. If things are going where they're going,
- 1:29:05Speaker 2: and let's say Kentucky runs off a couple more wins.
- 1:29:07Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:29:08Speaker 2: Louisville, you know, they get some wins. They lose some games.
- 1:29:11Speaker 2: We come in there a little hurt. This is a
- 1:29:14Speaker 2: game that Jeff Braum wins. And along with that. Just
- 1:29:19Speaker 2: the attitude of Lincoln Kienholz, he seems like a guy
- 1:29:21Speaker 2: that would thrive in a rivalry game. The way that
- 1:29:24Speaker 2: he kind of took the show over against Ole Miss
- 1:29:27Speaker 2: in that high emotion, high leverage situation, I think he
- 1:29:32Speaker 2: does the same here. Our defense obviously is not very good.
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: Terrible.
- 1:29:37Speaker 2: But we have won games where we've just straight up
- 1:29:40Speaker 2: outscored opponents. If you look at SMU, We almost got
- 1:29:44Speaker 2: it done against Ole Miss. We just had a couple
- 1:29:46Speaker 2: dumb penalties that we need to clean up. I think
- 1:29:50Speaker 2: that Louisville's weapons on offense, the running backs that have
- 1:29:55Speaker 2: already had a field day in Lexington, I think the
- 1:29:57Speaker 2: Cards will be able.
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: To pull it off somehow. Justin, Justin, that's UofL bias there,
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: isn't it? I mean, it should be. Well, I don't
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: disagree with that. He's a Louisville fan. He should be
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: biased towards his team.
- 1:30:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: Same way you're biased towards yours. Yeah, but I'm realistic
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: as well.
- 1:30:12Speaker 3: I don't have a dog in the fire, and I'm
- 1:30:15Speaker 3: here to tell you both that it's going to be
- 1:30:16Speaker 3: a whale of a game.
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: It really is. I agree. A lot more fun than
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: people ever predicted would be. But, no, I'm going to
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: give the edge to the U.K. because it's going to
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: be a home game, and that crowd's going to be
- 1:30:26Speaker 1: going crazy. And I'm hoping it's a night game. If
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: it's a night game, sorry, ball game over. It will
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: be like noon.
- 1:30:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:30:33Speaker 2: We can never get the night games. No, you're right
- 1:30:36Speaker 2: about that.
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: I know. The Iron Bowl. Yeah, whatever. But one day
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: this will be a big game throughout the country, and
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: I'm looking forward to it. UK will sweep UofL this year.
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: That will be another thing. It will be fun. Whoa, basketball.
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: Hold on. We'll beat them football, basketball, baseball, women's basketball.
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: Women's basketball, for sure. Oh, by the way, Thursday, 930,
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: Kenny Brooks is going to be on with us. So,
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: I know. I'll let Trevor know. Yeah, on somebody. What?
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: I won't be here. Told you that. You have got
- 1:31:07Speaker 1: to be kidding me. Okay. For any of the show?
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: I'll be here for probably the first 30 minutes. I
- 1:31:14Speaker 1: need you here for the entire show. Can't do. It's
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: my birthday. I got to go golfing. I know it's
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: your birthday. I got to go golfing. Him's the rules.
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: I'd like to celebrate your birthday. Okay. All right. Then,
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: never mind. We could celebrate on the first 30 minutes. Okay.
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: We'll celebrate the first 30 minutes.
- 1:31:30Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: All right, Quinn, always fun having you, my friend. Of course,
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: thank you. Yeah, you're welcome anytime you want to come here. Hey, everybody,
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: I appreciate you listening. I appreciate all the texts. We'll
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: see you tomorrow. I'll do my best to be on time, okay?
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: Please do. I'll do my best. The people need their crosstalk. Oh,
- 1:31:44Speaker 1: they need their crosstalk. T.J. Walker, I'm sure, is giving
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: you a hard way to go because I wasn't here.
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: It's my fault, T.J. Anyway, we'll see you tomorrow on
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: Just the Cats. Just the Cats.
- 1:32:14Speaker 2: I say.
