- 0:00Speaker 1: You know the way things are going nowadays, you know,
- 0:04Speaker 1: the election, the presidency, the economy. Are these new tariffs?
- 0:13Speaker 1: Are all these troops heading down to the border. Are
- 0:19Speaker 1: they getting rid of DEI? They're getting rid of the
- 0:22Speaker 1: sixty four civil rights bill? You know, really, of all
- 0:27Speaker 1: of the ones that's happening. You know, this civil rights
- 0:30Speaker 1: bill that's crazy. So you think it'd be best to
- 0:34Speaker 1: recee the fact that you all tried to make up
- 0:38Speaker 1: for all the wrongs that have been done by giving
- 0:41Speaker 1: some type of civil rights. Why is it that we
- 0:45Speaker 1: live in a country that can make a decision that
- 0:49Speaker 1: people of color should have civil rights? What happened to
- 0:55Speaker 1: your constitution that everybody has the right to the pursuit
- 1:00Speaker 1: of happiness? What happened to that? But you then told
- 1:04Speaker 1: us that we don't even have the right to civil rights,
- 1:08Speaker 1: that you no longer have to treat us in a
- 1:11Speaker 1: civil way. Get right on back to what America used
- 1:15Speaker 1: to do. Just stepping on folks.
- 1:18Speaker 2: You know what.
- 1:20Speaker 1: But what I'm not gonna do for four years on
- 1:22Speaker 1: this radio is complain. And I suggest everybody understands something.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Get yourself together. If you ain't ever had an attempt
- 1:32Speaker 1: to turn yourself into something. I think you better get
- 1:35Speaker 1: to doing it now. I'm not saying everybody got to
- 1:38Speaker 1: go out and open a business. That's not what I'm saying.
- 1:40Speaker 1: But I'm talking about really really get yourself together spiritually
- 1:45Speaker 1: and mentally. You have got to get yourself together spiritually
- 1:49Speaker 1: and mentally. You've got to develop the right attitude to
- 1:53Speaker 1: and do it this next four years, and you need
- 1:55Speaker 1: your spirituality to do it. Now. What kind of money
- 1:58Speaker 1: you make, that's up to you. What decision you make
- 2:01Speaker 1: about your income, that's up to you. You know, some
- 2:05Speaker 1: people are trying to figure out ways and how to
- 2:07Speaker 1: cut back. Other people are trying to figure out how
- 2:10Speaker 1: to make more.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Now.
- 2:12Speaker 1: The only thing with cutting back is now, I can
- 2:15Speaker 1: understand cutbacks. If you started to live beyond your means,
- 2:20Speaker 1: then you got to get back down within your means,
- 2:22Speaker 1: so it's not so stressful. But that's normally what happens.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Once you get outside of your means, you run the
- 2:31Speaker 1: credit cards all the way up, you find yourself totally
- 2:34Speaker 1: in debt and you're struggling to make your bills because
- 2:37Speaker 1: you've got too many bills. Then you know cutting back
- 2:42Speaker 1: might have to be a consideration for you or you
- 2:46Speaker 1: could be of the other mind said, if you're an entrepreneur,
- 2:50Speaker 1: I'm gonna make more money to deal with this, because
- 2:54Speaker 1: I heard somebody say to me one time. They said, hey, man,
- 2:57Speaker 1: why would I give back a blessing God gave to me.
- 3:00Speaker 1: I'm not cutting back nothing, I'm gonna go make more money. Well,
- 3:03Speaker 1: that's an entrepreneurial spirit. Everybody's not an entrepreneur. The majority
- 3:07Speaker 1: of people have jobs, and there's nothing wrong with that.
- 3:11Speaker 1: It's absolute. Some of the best people I've ever met
- 3:13Speaker 1: in my life are just hard working, job holding people.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Is nothing wrong with that. Man. My father was that,
- 3:20Speaker 1: so I've had nothing but a prime example of that. So,
- 3:24Speaker 1: whatever the case may be, you gotta get yourself mentally
- 3:28Speaker 1: prepared to deal with this. And the best way to
- 3:30Speaker 1: get mentally prepared is get your spirituality together.
- 3:34Speaker 2: You know.
- 3:34Speaker 1: I had to get up and watch an episode of
- 3:36Speaker 1: About Anxiety with Joel Oldstein this morning because I was
- 3:41Speaker 1: I didn't sleep well last night because I did what
- 3:43Speaker 1: I tell people not to do all the time. I
- 3:46Speaker 1: was worried about something I had no control over. But
- 3:48Speaker 1: I'm human, I'm human, and it was the last thing
- 3:53Speaker 1: I was thinking about and talking about last night. So
- 3:55Speaker 1: oftentimes that's the thing that will keep you up at night.
- 3:58Speaker 1: If you go to on the negative subject, you probably
- 4:02Speaker 1: gonna have some negative thoughts. And that's what happened to me.
- 4:05Speaker 1: But I had to get up this morning and cut
- 4:07Speaker 1: on Joel O's dein and I just said, I just
- 4:09Speaker 1: need an answer. And you know what anxiety is when
- 4:12Speaker 1: you're troubling and worrying yourself about something you have no
- 4:14Speaker 1: control over. And those two things are normally your future
- 4:17Speaker 1: or your past. And I was worried about something in
- 4:20Speaker 1: the future that I have no control over. But then
- 4:24Speaker 1: I had to remind my wife told me last night
- 4:26Speaker 1: on the phone. She says, Steve Harvey, take your own advice.
- 4:30Speaker 1: When God closes a door, when the door is closed
- 4:33Speaker 1: in your face, don't stand that beating on that door.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Walk up the hallway. There are more doors. Don't you
- 4:42Speaker 1: ever give nobody the power to think that, cause they
- 4:45Speaker 1: then shut a door in your face, that they got
- 4:48Speaker 1: control of your destiny. They are not the author or
- 4:52Speaker 1: the architect of my future. I have given that sole
- 4:55Speaker 1: control to God. So I had to remind myself, Steve Harvey,
- 5:00Speaker 1: walk up the hallway. They have no idea. They didn't
- 5:05Speaker 1: make me. There's no breaking me. There's none of that.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Stay on your journey, wake up on this radio in
- 5:12Speaker 1: the morning, and get back in the uplift business. You know,
- 5:15Speaker 1: I got an enemy out there, and they're in the
- 5:18Speaker 1: taaredown business, and I got to remember not to try
- 5:22Speaker 1: to combat that because I'm in the uplift business. My
- 5:26Speaker 1: enemy is in the tab people down business. I'm in
- 5:30Speaker 1: to try to improve people business. Why would I get
- 5:33Speaker 1: in the same business here trying to combat him when
- 5:36Speaker 1: clearly we stay. We play in two different leagues. And
- 5:40Speaker 1: I'm not really good at quoting rap records, but I
- 5:42Speaker 1: heard Jay Z one time say something to the effect
- 5:45Speaker 1: of we in two different leagues, Homie were shooting at
- 5:48Speaker 1: two different baskets. As a matter of fact, me and
- 5:50Speaker 1: you we pay two different taxes. Shoe statements say, hey,
- 6:00Speaker 1: y'all have a great day to day.
- 6:01Speaker 2: We talk to God to day.
