- 0:18Speaker 4: Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. But go into this game thinking
- 0:24Speaker 4: we're eleven and two. We're good, you know, and we
- 0:28Speaker 4: beat them the first time.
- 0:29Speaker 1: I don't know who you're trying to fight out or why?
- 0:32Speaker 2: And and the Oughts yeah and no chance. Okay, so
- 0:35Speaker 2: hear me out. Don't interrupt me, just I just let
- 0:37Speaker 2: me finished.
- 0:37Speaker 1: But Evan's right, why b YU only lost tex Texas?
- 0:41Speaker 1: They lost choice of Texas Tech?
- 0:43Speaker 3: All right?
- 0:43Speaker 2: We said we're gonna briefly talk about college.
- 0:46Speaker 5: All right.
- 0:46Speaker 1: I'm sorry every and I I'm sorry.
- 0:48Speaker 6: I'm so sorry. When we were talking about the Broncos
- 0:50Speaker 6: and the Raiders, I was joking. I was being facetious
- 0:54Speaker 6: for you. As they said. The amount of bitching that
- 0:57Speaker 6: goes on on social media between fan bases in ours
- 1:00Speaker 6: included like, I'm not saying we're not crid of.
- 1:02Speaker 2: This, okay, and I imagine your timeline.
- 1:05Speaker 6: I say this with all the love in my heart.
- 1:07Speaker 6: Please go touch grass, like, go do something else? Do
- 1:10Speaker 6: you want the Patriots clinching scenarios this weekend.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Oh yes, please, sure, all right, they can clinch.
- 1:15Speaker 1: A playoff for its six different ways.
- 1:17Speaker 3: I don't care your punctuation, Jordan is absolutely terrible.
- 1:21Speaker 2: Okay. I don't know if you're doing that on purpose
- 1:23Speaker 2: or what.
- 1:24Speaker 3: The fact that I got through the email the way
- 1:26Speaker 3: I did is a credit to me. I'm not concerned
- 1:28Speaker 3: about it. I'm concerned that fans are concerned about it.
- 1:32Speaker 1: This is Patriots.
- 1:33Speaker 4: Unfiltered, presented by Toyota's official website for deals by a
- 1:37Speaker 4: Toyota dot com.
- 1:40Speaker 2: All right, welcome the Patriots Unfiltered.
- 1:43Speaker 3: It is Wednesday here at to Let's Stadium, and Alex,
- 1:47Speaker 3: we need our show monitor on the board over here.
- 1:50Speaker 2: I can't see myself anyway. It is Alex.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Let's see how it all looks.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Alex in the booth.
- 1:55Speaker 3: It's Evan, it's Paul, it's me, it's Deuce, and we're
- 1:58Speaker 3: here talking about Patriots. It's uh, open the book day,
- 2:02Speaker 3: not turn the page. It's opened the book day on
- 2:05Speaker 3: the Buffalo bills.
- 2:06Speaker 7: Oh, my book's been open, friends. Oh yeah, I haven't
- 2:09Speaker 7: been grinding. Evan's even an eye on Baltimore too.
- 2:11Speaker 2: I think yes, Okay, you're already looking ahead. You're doing
- 2:13Speaker 2: the advanced scouting.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Watch the Little Ravens life.
- 2:15Speaker 3: So this weekend you want to not go to Gillette,
- 2:18Speaker 3: We'll send you to Baltimore to go watch that game.
- 2:20Speaker 6: I think it's a job. I'd actually really like doing
- 2:22Speaker 6: advanced scouting. Yeah, okay, how come on, I tell you that.
- 2:25Speaker 6: You say no, no, no, I'm not interested in because, like
- 2:28Speaker 6: I don't want to take myself that seriously. I don't
- 2:31Speaker 6: want to have that big of an ego to think
- 2:32Speaker 6: that I actually could.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Why not? But I I that piece of it, I
- 2:35Speaker 1: probably is my favorite.
- 2:37Speaker 2: I read your your you know what do you call it?
- 2:41Speaker 2: Your preview for the game?
- 2:42Speaker 1: Game plan?
- 2:43Speaker 2: Your game plan? Yeah, and it was very good. So
- 2:46Speaker 2: I would I think you could do that?
- 2:49Speaker 6: Yeah, I really Now. They do it to the end degree.
- 2:51Speaker 6: And they also if you don't try, they also do
- 2:53Speaker 6: a bunch of different other things about, you know, preparing
- 2:57Speaker 6: for the game that aren't just like watching for cool play,
- 3:00Speaker 6: you know.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Like I do it, but like you look at trends,
- 3:03Speaker 3: you're looking for substitution, right, Well.
- 3:06Speaker 1: That's what I mean. They you know, they're watching the sideline.
- 3:09Speaker 6: They're watching substitution Patterns said, like, you know, I'm not
- 3:12Speaker 6: doing that necessarily.
- 3:13Speaker 1: I'm more just watching it.
- 3:14Speaker 2: You couldn't do I feel.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Like maybe, yeah, why not? Thanks? I appreciate that, guys.
- 3:20Speaker 8: Yeah, I've been seriously, I've been telling you that for
- 3:22Speaker 8: two years now.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Anyway, take a shot. It's a lonely job, though, it's
- 3:26Speaker 2: a lonely job.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm not sure, but like it's that.
- 3:30Speaker 6: That's my favorite part though, is to watch ahead of
- 3:33Speaker 6: you know, the other opponent. You know what, what are
- 3:36Speaker 6: the Bills look like? What do the Ravens look like?
- 3:38Speaker 6: You know whatever? That that's that's fun.
- 3:41Speaker 3: All right ahead, all right, so bills coming up. Weather
- 3:46Speaker 3: has changed, uh oh from yesterday to today. All the
- 3:52Speaker 3: precipitation seems to be gone. Oh yeah, a little bit
- 3:57Speaker 3: cooler than it was, but still in the thirties. But
- 4:01Speaker 3: no precipitation during the game. So we're dry. Yeah it's
- 4:05Speaker 3: dry hopefully.
- 4:07Speaker 2: And Evans thinks that that favors Drake.
- 4:09Speaker 1: May I do the dry weather? Yeah, yeah, sure I do.
- 4:13Speaker 6: I think that. And I'm not saying that he can't,
- 4:16Speaker 6: so it don't make this a big thing. I'm just
- 4:18Speaker 6: saying we haven't seen it. Yet you know, a weather
- 4:22Speaker 6: game in December and January that he goes out there
- 4:25Speaker 6: and plays well and wins. You know, we haven't seen
- 4:28Speaker 6: it yet, Whereas I've seen that a million times with
- 4:30Speaker 6: Josh Allen. You know, Josh Allen, we saw last week, right,
- 4:33Speaker 6: I played in the bad weather in Buffalo and one
- 4:36Speaker 6: played extremely well plenty of times. So I just think that,
- 4:40Speaker 6: you know, this team's that's just a little bit of
- 4:41Speaker 6: an unknown, is how they're going to handle the condition.
- 4:43Speaker 7: I think it's one of the big subplots of just
- 4:46Speaker 7: generally the Bills have been here, they've been around for
- 4:47Speaker 7: a while, They've played in big games.
- 4:49Speaker 1: You know, they're used to this.
- 4:51Speaker 7: We're trying to figure out when the last time the
- 4:52Speaker 7: Patriots played a game this big in their own stadium.
- 4:55Speaker 7: So I think it's an element of unknown as well
- 4:57Speaker 7: for Drake May and you know, and just the team
- 4:59Speaker 7: in general.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Young team.
- 5:00Speaker 7: You know, a team that had turnover, but they haven't
- 5:03Speaker 7: really been in this kind of pressure.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Situe at all nowhere.
- 5:06Speaker 7: So how do they how do they you know, pull
- 5:08Speaker 7: together and come out of a bye and you know,
- 5:10Speaker 7: start this thing back up again. That's that's what I
- 5:12Speaker 7: felt like was kind of a theme we'll hear from
- 5:14Speaker 7: Vrabel here in a little bit. But I think that's,
- 5:16Speaker 7: you know, getting that energy back up, that energy that
- 5:18Speaker 7: you came onto the field with and Monday night football,
- 5:21Speaker 7: you know, how can you get that going again.
- 5:23Speaker 3: We talked about it yesterday. Whether or not it's relevant,
- 5:27Speaker 3: I think it is a little bit. Vrabel is six
- 5:30Speaker 3: and o as a head coach coming out of the by.
- 5:33Speaker 3: I think it matters a little bit. Ye shows that
- 5:36Speaker 3: he keeps his team focused, you know, whichever team.
- 5:39Speaker 2: You know.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Obviously we're talking about the Titans, and you know it's
- 5:42Speaker 3: not exactly like they were world beaters, but he had
- 5:46Speaker 3: them six and o coming out of the by.
- 5:47Speaker 6: And they played they barth As the all the numbers
- 5:50Speaker 6: on this he they they've like blown teams out in
- 5:53Speaker 6: Tennessee off the by, like won by multiple scores in
- 5:57Speaker 6: some of those games too. Now I don't know all
- 5:59Speaker 6: the context of know what teams they were playing and
- 6:02Speaker 6: it was her and all. I don't know all the context,
- 6:04Speaker 6: but they've He's done very very well out of the buy.
- 6:08Speaker 2: So so we got that going for us.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I was reminded a little bit.
- 6:11Speaker 7: I remember a storyline being the Varibel's teams didn't play
- 6:13Speaker 7: great out of the like training camp, out of the
- 6:16Speaker 7: season openers, that his teams had had some stumbles there.
- 6:18Speaker 1: So I'm not just interesting, more interested.
- 6:21Speaker 7: In what he establishes here and you know, learns from
- 6:24Speaker 7: that first experience.
- 6:25Speaker 1: And yeah, there are things that take good and bad.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Yep, yep. What else do we have to talk about today?
- 6:32Speaker 1: I'm bucked on the Bills.
- 6:34Speaker 8: So one of the things, you know, and I go
- 6:36Speaker 8: and do my show later Fred on Wednesdays. Yeah, one
- 6:39Speaker 8: of the things that I know that they're going to
- 6:40Speaker 8: be talking about today is the points spread, and not
- 6:45Speaker 8: just in New England, you know, So just so people
- 6:48Speaker 8: know right now, I know this is all this stuff
- 6:50Speaker 8: is subject to change. But I think the latest number
- 6:53Speaker 8: that DraftKings has is the Bills are favored in this
- 6:55Speaker 8: game by one and a half, which I found a
- 6:57Speaker 8: little surprising, to be honest, respect And then I looked
- 7:01Speaker 8: and I saw Denver is at home against Green Bay
- 7:05Speaker 8: and they're also underdogs, I believe, by two and a half.
- 7:09Speaker 8: So the Packers are favorite in that game. So clearly
- 7:13Speaker 8: the bookies, the book makers, the houses, the sharps, the touts, oh.
- 7:20Speaker 2: By the way.
- 7:20Speaker 3: They told me they have a new nickname for me,
- 7:23Speaker 3: Freddy Fields. But after this week, maybe I don't.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Want to go one around the office. I'm not sure.
- 7:29Speaker 1: I'm not up on admin level. Here comes Freddy Fields.
- 7:34Speaker 1: I think HR may want to work. Hey, guys, what's
- 7:38Speaker 1: what I did?
- 7:39Speaker 8: Find it a little interesting and Evan, I know you
- 7:41Speaker 8: know you, Yeah, I agree with you.
- 7:42Speaker 1: I disrespect. I think I was a little surprised by it.
- 7:46Speaker 8: And you know, these things and fred will make fun
- 7:47Speaker 8: of me because these things don't generally.
- 7:49Speaker 1: Move my needle one way. You want to know what
- 7:52Speaker 1: moves your need, but Freddie Fields moves his need.
- 7:54Speaker 8: Look at the Patriots have won ten in a row,
- 7:56Speaker 8: the Broncos have won ten in a row, and it
- 7:58Speaker 8: seems like people still don't necessarily believe in though.
- 8:01Speaker 1: Isn't this just like the established hierarchy.
- 8:06Speaker 2: That's what it is.
- 8:07Speaker 6: Gran Bay has been good for the wild Buffalo has
- 8:10Speaker 6: been good.
- 8:11Speaker 3: I get it, and I love to play the disrespect card,
- 8:14Speaker 3: but I've been thinking about it. I think this is
- 8:16Speaker 3: more about respect for Josh Allen than it is disrespect.
- 8:19Speaker 8: For the patri Don't get me wrong, I'm not up
- 8:21Speaker 8: in arms over I get it. It's not something I'm
- 8:23Speaker 8: going to lose any sleepover, but I did find it
- 8:25Speaker 8: interesting and I would be curious to see if it
- 8:29Speaker 8: because they set the lines based on their analytics, and
- 8:32Speaker 8: there's no question that they have some intangible stuff like
- 8:36Speaker 8: Evan just mentioned, you know, the pedigree of Josh Allen
- 8:39Speaker 8: and what Green Bay has done.
- 8:41Speaker 1: That's certainly part of this.
- 8:43Speaker 8: But if it's a bad line quote unquote, I would
- 8:47Speaker 8: expect it to shift in you know, the Patriots, you know,
- 8:51Speaker 8: because of the money, the money the people would be
- 8:53Speaker 8: betting the Patriots. If you think the Patriot's going to
- 8:55Speaker 8: win this game. I'm getting points at home, the Patriots
- 8:57Speaker 8: eleven ten game winning streak, I'm at home. I would
- 9:00Speaker 8: think a lot of money would come in on the
- 9:01Speaker 8: Patriots in that line would slide, you know, closer to
- 9:04Speaker 8: even if not the Patriots being favored by the time
- 9:06Speaker 8: kickoff happens on Sunday. So I think that's something to watch,
- 9:10Speaker 8: something to monitor.
- 9:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:12Speaker 6: Yeah, and there's no doubt that Buffalo just looking at
- 9:15Speaker 6: it up now, it's not by much, but Buffalo is
- 9:18Speaker 6: tenth in DVA right now and the Patriots are fourteenth.
- 9:21Speaker 6: You know, the Dvoa hasn't loved the Patriots really all year.
- 9:24Speaker 6: A lot of that's because of their schedule. It just
- 9:26Speaker 6: for schedule and strength of schedule. But you know, green
- 9:30Speaker 6: Bay's fifth, you know, Denver is down here in the middle,
- 9:36Speaker 6: you know.
- 9:36Speaker 1: So it's just these teams that.
- 9:39Speaker 6: Haven't done it yet, that haven't had the proof of
- 9:42Speaker 6: concept that the analytics, I think do probably say that
- 9:45Speaker 6: Buffalo and Green Bay are a little bit better than
- 9:47Speaker 6: the Patriots and the Broncos despite the records, and that's
- 9:51Speaker 6: how you get it.
- 9:52Speaker 1: I feel like that's how it should be.
- 9:53Speaker 7: I mean, I have a lot of respect for what
- 9:54Speaker 7: Josh Allen and the Bills have done over the last
- 9:56Speaker 7: few years. I mean we've gotten you know, people clap
- 9:58Speaker 7: back at us for loving them too much, but how
- 10:00Speaker 7: can you not respect the player that Josh Allen is
- 10:03Speaker 7: And like I feel like a little bit of an
- 10:05Speaker 7: underdog going in whether the sharps say it or not.
- 10:07Speaker 7: And this is on the Patriots to you know, beat
- 10:09Speaker 7: the five time defending division champs.
- 10:11Speaker 3: And sometimes these point spreads are you know, just way
- 10:15Speaker 3: off and they're proven wrong.
- 10:16Speaker 2: But most of the time money talks, they're they're pretty
- 10:20Speaker 2: much on the nose and that's why they make a
- 10:23Speaker 2: lot of money.
- 10:24Speaker 7: As someone who's lasting the picks against the spread, I
- 10:26Speaker 7: can I can confirm it's difficult.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Yeah, it is, it is, you know.
- 10:32Speaker 3: But uh so I'm not I'm not up in arms
- 10:35Speaker 3: about the Patriots being a point and a half.
- 10:38Speaker 8: No, I am surprised, though. Yeah, I think they're gonna
- 10:41Speaker 8: bail use it. You know, Rabeles is no doubt in
- 10:43Speaker 8: my mind.
- 10:44Speaker 6: I don't know if he's gonna get up there and
- 10:45Speaker 6: say we're yeah.
- 10:48Speaker 1: But that's going to see the spread.
- 10:52Speaker 3: This to me more importantly, if I'm the head coach,
- 10:55Speaker 3: this is your chance to really prove yourself and who
- 10:58Speaker 3: we are.
- 10:59Speaker 5: You know.
- 10:59Speaker 3: We talked about identity, you know, and we're We've done
- 11:02Speaker 3: a good job so far establishing us, but this takes
- 11:05Speaker 3: us to the next level. Were the next step in
- 11:08Speaker 3: establishing our identity. A championship potential game in December that
- 11:15Speaker 3: we can win and if we do, we're the AFC
- 11:17Speaker 3: East champs. This, this is this is important because of that.
- 11:22Speaker 6: There's just it's such a different feel from yeah, you
- 11:25Speaker 6: won the division, but it's because you beat the Jets
- 11:28Speaker 6: and the Dolphins in the last two weeks of the
- 11:29Speaker 6: season and you won the tiebreaker.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Right against Buffaloe versus. You took it.
- 11:35Speaker 3: You know, you against against the team that is the
- 11:38Speaker 3: raining champs five.
- 11:40Speaker 6: Times in a row and you went out there and
- 11:42Speaker 6: you beat them twice in the same season and you
- 11:44Speaker 6: took it. That's just from a morales standpoint, I don't
- 11:47Speaker 6: know how that you can't see that that is just wild.
- 11:52Speaker 7: Yeah, it's just the situation of the first game. They
- 11:54Speaker 7: were four and oh they were you know, streaking. You
- 11:56Speaker 7: beat them in their place on a you know, a
- 11:58Speaker 7: night where they were pretty juiced up national time television.
- 12:00Speaker 7: And now they're playing good again. They're you know, they
- 12:02Speaker 7: have their holes, but they're surging right now. This is
- 12:05Speaker 7: when Josh Allen knows it's his time to shine. And
- 12:07Speaker 7: that's you know, those two wins, when you look at them,
- 12:09Speaker 7: even in context, they're they're impressive. If they're able to
- 12:12Speaker 7: pull it off, that's I mean, this is everything you
- 12:14Speaker 7: could ask for, you know, a chance to do it
- 12:16Speaker 7: against the team that has owned the.
- 12:17Speaker 3: Den and and you know, not to make excuses, but
- 12:21Speaker 3: if if you do win this game, you've stopped Josh
- 12:26Speaker 3: Allen and his offense without Milton Williams. You know, so
- 12:29Speaker 3: you're you're manned up and you know made you know,
- 12:32Speaker 3: gut By without your best defensive player, and I think
- 12:35Speaker 3: that means something too sure, you know.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Yeah, I just think it just means a lot in
- 12:40Speaker 1: terms of how.
- 12:40Speaker 8: You don't think know about how they win the game.
- 12:43Speaker 8: But like, I mean, everybody's missing players.
- 12:45Speaker 3: Like I know, but like and some and some overcome
- 12:50Speaker 3: that and some don't know. I want to be one
- 12:52Speaker 3: of those teams that overcome it.
- 12:53Speaker 7: Okay, yeah, I'm just trying to think back. I mean,
- 12:56Speaker 7: remember every time when during the Patriots dynasty run, if
- 13:00Speaker 7: where they lost like to Buffalo early in the season
- 13:03Speaker 7: and then they come back and they're like, okay, you
- 13:05Speaker 7: know in December, like now now is when we you know,
- 13:08Speaker 7: when they.
- 13:08Speaker 1: Lost thirty one to nothing to Buffalo and three.
- 13:10Speaker 9: I mean that's good, that's a good uh.
- 13:12Speaker 1: That was the mind. But they had the book end.
- 13:14Speaker 3: Right, they got Lawyer Malloy, the team was.
- 13:18Speaker 8: I just think those are different situations because those were
- 13:20Speaker 8: generally not good teams and this is two good teams.
- 13:23Speaker 1: You know, like once in a while, the Patriots got upset.
- 13:26Speaker 8: I mean I think it happened three times in the
- 13:28Speaker 8: twenty whatever years by Buffalo.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Ryan Patrick, he was like twenty six. There weren't very
- 13:33Speaker 1: many times where Buffalo look.
- 13:35Speaker 8: One of the times that they had a chance was
- 13:37Speaker 8: with Josh Allen on that Saturday afternoon game here in Foxborough.
- 13:42Speaker 8: The Bills made the playoffs that year. They were actually
- 13:44Speaker 8: pretty good, and they had a chance to come and
- 13:47Speaker 8: win the game here and they fell short. It was
- 13:49Speaker 8: a good game, deal. It was kind of like when
- 13:51Speaker 8: you're learning nineteen right, Yeah, I think it was nineteen.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Thirty three and three. It was against Buffalo.
- 13:57Speaker 8: I think it was a twenty four to seventeen game.
- 13:58Speaker 8: It might have been been earlier than that. I don't
- 14:01Speaker 8: I don't remember exactly what the year was. But it
- 14:03Speaker 8: was kind of like, oh, they didn't just go away
- 14:07Speaker 8: like it kind of expected the Patriots to roll in
- 14:09Speaker 8: this game.
- 14:09Speaker 1: And it was a good game. Yeah.
- 14:11Speaker 8: It was a little back and forth, and you can
- 14:12Speaker 8: kind of see Buffalo was getting better. But usually if
- 14:16Speaker 8: the Patriots would you say, three times three times Buffalo,
- 14:21Speaker 8: usually the Bill stunk. So it was like, okay, yeah,
- 14:24Speaker 8: that was cute, you beat us, you know, but we'll
- 14:26Speaker 8: smacking around the second time.
- 14:27Speaker 3: Wasn't there a stretch you know before Josh Allen that
- 14:30Speaker 3: we were beating them, But there was a stretch of
- 14:32Speaker 3: games that were like either one point or overtime or
- 14:35Speaker 3: something like that.
- 14:36Speaker 6: They had some issues at the end of you know,
- 14:39Speaker 6: Brady beginning of McDermott with the Bill's defense. Bill's defense
- 14:43Speaker 6: is always given this passing system. I think a lot
- 14:47Speaker 6: of it has to do with how much Buffalo disguises
- 14:49Speaker 6: and how much the Patriots adjust their routes based off coverage.
- 14:53Speaker 6: The Bill's defenses had like Brady had, I don't know
- 14:56Speaker 6: we call the clunkers, but like Brady had some like
- 14:59Speaker 6: non Brady game it was like not throwing for three
- 15:01Speaker 6: fifty and five touchdowns against Buffalo. They had some struggles
- 15:05Speaker 6: against the Bills. I don't know what the scores were.
- 15:07Speaker 8: But I don't think there were a ton of close games.
- 15:09Speaker 1: Just a tiny bit of breaking news. Josh Allen AFC
- 15:11Speaker 1: player of the Week.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Yeah that makes there you go, all right, okay.
- 15:15Speaker 3: Yeah, you asked more respect all the break gat makes
- 15:19Speaker 3: it that much better when we beat the raining player.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Of the week.
- 15:23Speaker 7: Well, I sure don't ever remember any of the games
- 15:24Speaker 7: happening like Patriots getting upset by an NFC opponent in
- 15:27Speaker 7: the early season and then having to like hold serve
- 15:30Speaker 7: on the road like I don't remember that ever happened.
- 15:32Speaker 7: I remember Buffalo getting some wins in Buffalo. I remember
- 15:34Speaker 7: the Jets getting some wins in New York early in
- 15:36Speaker 7: the season. But then it always came back to the Patriots.
- 15:38Speaker 7: Summers never good blue doors, you know, and that.
- 15:41Speaker 8: You know, there was a couple, you know, that little
- 15:43Speaker 8: stretch there where the Jets were cute with Rex Ryan,
- 15:47Speaker 8: you know, nine to eleven, and they went to a
- 15:49Speaker 8: couple of conference championship games.
- 15:51Speaker 1: They were I mean, they were formidable.
- 15:52Speaker 2: What about when Rex ryanders with the Bills.
- 15:55Speaker 8: So Rex Ryan beat the Patriots with the Bills, but
- 15:58Speaker 8: it was with Jacoby Brissett play board about.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Sixteen's it was Rex Ryan thing with the Bills and
- 16:03Speaker 1: not go didn't work.
- 16:04Speaker 7: No, no, yeah, I think the one you might have
- 16:06Speaker 7: been talking about, Paul was December twenty first, twenty nineteen,
- 16:09Speaker 7: was a twenty four to seventeen play the game by
- 16:12Speaker 7: the Patriots.
- 16:12Speaker 1: The Patriots are twelve and three, the Bills were ten
- 16:14Speaker 1: and five.
- 16:14Speaker 8: After that one, that was a rare time that they
- 16:16Speaker 8: were both pretty good, Damn Patriot. It wasn't trying to.
- 16:19Speaker 8: You know, Salvage is split. The Patriots won both games
- 16:22Speaker 8: against Buffalo that year, but Buffalo you could see, was
- 16:25Speaker 8: getting better with this kid who looked like he was
- 16:27Speaker 8: starting to figure things.
- 16:28Speaker 1: So Sean Brown fifty three yards.
- 16:31Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 16:31Speaker 3: So I don't want to digress too much, but I
- 16:33Speaker 3: was on my drive and I was thinking of, you know,
- 16:36Speaker 3: Patriots through the dynasty, and I have a total blank.
- 16:40Speaker 8: I was thinking about Patriots through the dynasty.
- 16:42Speaker 2: I was I have a total blank on two thousand
- 16:44Speaker 2: and five? What happened then? What happened in two thousand.
- 16:49Speaker 7: Bruski had the stroke and then they had to replace
- 16:52Speaker 7: their linebackers. So I think they lost uh Rabel moved middle,
- 16:57Speaker 7: Brown just didn't.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Work, came in.
- 17:01Speaker 7: I think ty Law had left as well, So they
- 17:03Speaker 7: had a sante. But I remember that their their defense
- 17:06Speaker 7: was just terrible.
- 17:07Speaker 2: Remember that they lost.
- 17:07Speaker 1: To the Chargers. Yeah, they beat the Jacket.
- 17:12Speaker 7: The Jets might have been I want to say the Jaggs,
- 17:15Speaker 7: and that William McGinnis had a couple of sacks and
- 17:17Speaker 7: broke the sack record.
- 17:18Speaker 1: That was Deion Branch still on that team or did
- 17:20Speaker 1: he get traded. He was that was a big last
- 17:24Speaker 1: So that was his last they made.
- 17:25Speaker 2: They lost Denver. They lost the lost Denver in Denver.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Yeah, that's why everybody.
- 17:31Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, all right, geez.
- 17:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:34Speaker 2: I mean I'd say it was one of the forgotten
- 17:36Speaker 2: season for me.
- 17:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:37Speaker 6: I mean it was Brady's first loss in the playoffs
- 17:40Speaker 6: of his career and it was still a touchback.
- 17:43Speaker 2: I blanked out.
- 17:44Speaker 7: Bruskie came back, you know, and that was I remember
- 17:47Speaker 7: being like, thank god, but you had gone from four
- 17:49Speaker 7: where you had that like Paul always talks about the
- 17:51Speaker 7: six for four linebackers and I don't even know if
- 17:54Speaker 7: if what's his face the other linebacker was still around
- 17:57Speaker 7: to I mean, Teddy j was probably gone by that point.
- 17:59Speaker 7: I would guess Ruman fight for I don't know, maybe,
- 18:01Speaker 7: I mean right around that area.
- 18:02Speaker 1: They might have both been gone. Yeah.
- 18:04Speaker 9: Yeah, Turnover there was like I remember him with like
- 18:08Speaker 9: target on him the whole season.
- 18:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 18:09Speaker 2: And Chad Brown absolutely got folded in half in Denver
- 18:12Speaker 2: that year.
- 18:13Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 18:13Speaker 9: Yeah, that was Ben jam the Ben Watson chase down.
- 18:17Speaker 8: That was.
- 18:17Speaker 1: That was a tough playoff game.
- 18:19Speaker 8: I mean they got out played in the game largely,
- 18:23Speaker 8: sure did. And I mean, you know how bad that was,
- 18:25Speaker 8: Like just it wasn't there year. Even Adam missed the
- 18:28Speaker 8: field goal in that game, that divisional round game, and
- 18:30Speaker 8: dam never missed when it counted.
- 18:33Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, it was a bad night, all right.
- 18:36Speaker 2: So I just, like I said, I need to ask
- 18:38Speaker 2: Paul what happened in two thousand and five?
- 18:40Speaker 1: You got, you got the whole panel, I know, I
- 18:44Speaker 1: just remember that.
- 18:45Speaker 6: I mean, they hadn't lost a playoff game with Brady yet,
- 18:48Speaker 6: So like my first memories are you know, beginning of
- 18:51Speaker 6: two thousand and two thousand and one time frame, So
- 18:54Speaker 6: like I had never experienced like losing a playoff game
- 18:56Speaker 6: before really as like a fan killing. And I just
- 19:00Speaker 6: remember being absolutely distraught after they lost to Denver that night.
- 19:03Speaker 1: Yeah me too, Me too.
- 19:05Speaker 7: It's like why I started blogging about the team. I
- 19:07Speaker 7: think just that loss against the guys.
- 19:10Speaker 8: Brady throws the pick in the end zone of all people,
- 19:13Speaker 8: Troy Brown, you know, muffs a punt and that led
- 19:16Speaker 8: to another turnover. And like I said, Adam missed a
- 19:19Speaker 8: field goal. It was just one of those nights like
- 19:20Speaker 8: this just ain't the patriotsy year.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I whooping it up in that press box. If
- 19:26Speaker 2: you remember, Paul.
- 19:27Speaker 8: Mike, remember what happened in the season, but you remember
- 19:29Speaker 8: the disrespect from the out of town press corps.
- 19:32Speaker 1: You got that right, That's that's Benjamin the.
- 19:34Speaker 2: Game I remember that. Well, now it's coming back, I know,
- 19:38Speaker 2: but now it comes back to me.
- 19:39Speaker 7: Yeah, Brabel had one hundred and five one hundred eight
- 19:41Speaker 7: combined tackles that year. I mean, clearly led the team
- 19:44Speaker 7: solo seventy three solo tackles. Next closest Tai Warn forty
- 19:48Speaker 7: had to play inside.
- 19:50Speaker 1: This, but he did it.
- 19:52Speaker 8: He did it well, and he did it really well.
- 19:54Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, So what were we talking about before?
- 19:57Speaker 2: I spread and spread and all.
- 20:00Speaker 6: One little thing about, uh, just housekeeping whatever the Uh.
- 20:05Speaker 6: The injuries are going to be interesting on both sides,
- 20:08Speaker 6: and you know, practice participation. The Bills got a bunch
- 20:11Speaker 6: of guys banged up. Uh, the Patriots had a bunch
- 20:14Speaker 6: of guys banged up before the bye, and then there's
- 20:16Speaker 6: no injury reports during the bye. So, uh, Robert Splane
- 20:20Speaker 6: has something going on that we still have unidentified. So
- 20:24Speaker 6: we'll find out later today what he's dealing with. But
- 20:26Speaker 6: he didn't play as much against the Giants as he
- 20:28Speaker 6: normally does. Then he was kind of limited not at practice,
- 20:32Speaker 6: like you know, not really participating the last couple of practices.
- 20:36Speaker 6: And then you know, Tonga school or you know, what
- 20:40Speaker 6: do you do on the offensive line of Jared Wilson
- 20:43Speaker 6: is healthy? Do you put him back in? You know,
- 20:46Speaker 6: like all these different types of things. And then Buffalo
- 20:48Speaker 6: it's Bernard and Spencer Brown. They're starting right tackle. Kinka
- 20:54Speaker 6: came back last week, but his seems kind of banged up.
- 20:58Speaker 6: Josh Palmer one of their receivers. So there's both teams
- 21:02Speaker 6: have some banged up guys that well they won't. Theay
- 21:06Speaker 6: on Sunday is Important.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Was like, a give it a go guy. I think
- 21:09Speaker 1: Glass he's not He's going to give.
- 21:11Speaker 10: It a go.
- 21:12Speaker 3: Well, but yeah, Knox And for those of you who
- 21:16Speaker 3: are into the pop culture, Cardi B has declared herself
- 21:19Speaker 3: a football b I won't use the crass word and
- 21:23Speaker 3: that she wants that Patriots smoke.
- 21:26Speaker 1: So really, where was this on her thing?
- 21:29Speaker 5: Whatever?
- 21:30Speaker 3: Yeah, so she's all in on the Patriots. Michael writes
- 21:34Speaker 3: in from Maine, Paul is one hundred percent correct. Fred
- 21:37Speaker 3: is off his rocker. There is not a single Patriots
- 21:39Speaker 3: fan on this planet that is dreading the game against Buffalo.
- 21:44Speaker 2: Every everybody can't flipping weight for this game. And if
- 21:48Speaker 2: we do lose, it's not the end of the world.
- 21:50Speaker 2: The show will go on.
- 21:51Speaker 3: So Fred go grab your brunts and get out your
- 21:55Speaker 3: snow blower and blow off some steam.
- 21:58Speaker 1: Okay, I have a small rant.
- 21:59Speaker 7: I get a smaller a little bit, a little bit
- 22:02Speaker 7: of ran towards you. No, it's funny, and then I
- 22:05Speaker 7: fully accept that. I fully accept, you know, being a
- 22:08Speaker 7: little like worried about what does it mean? But I
- 22:10Speaker 7: was just I was laughing thinking about it, because when
- 22:12Speaker 7: we talk about Paul shows like this is what it
- 22:14Speaker 7: is they live for, that they live for knowing all
- 22:17Speaker 7: these things, we know, all the talking points they're gonna
- 22:19Speaker 7: hit if they lose this Buffalo game.
- 22:21Speaker 1: So it's like, you know, one hand, you make fun
- 22:23Speaker 1: of those people, but.
- 22:24Speaker 7: At the same time, you need those people because those
- 22:26Speaker 7: are the ones who are gonna hate. Listen to felgroom
- 22:28Speaker 7: As after the game and be like, I don't want
- 22:30Speaker 7: to hear it.
- 22:30Speaker 1: Tells me you up, the schedule was soft and up.
- 22:32Speaker 1: Josh Allen still owns you, You know, like those are
- 22:34Speaker 1: the things that are beat into your head, like you
- 22:36Speaker 1: know it, right. I don't know how much that matters
- 22:39Speaker 1: to the people that actually matter, like the coach play.
- 22:42Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, No, it might a little bit.
- 22:45Speaker 6: Because like the soft schedule thing is a narrative and
- 22:48Speaker 6: if you go out into Buffalo and you're kind of
- 22:50Speaker 6: outclassed by the Bills on Sunday, then still you're it.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Just kind of proves them right, right, they could do that.
- 22:58Speaker 8: Yeah, But I agree with everything you guys are saying,
- 23:02Speaker 8: and I understand where Fred's coming from. I have a
- 23:04Speaker 8: feeling that this is going to be what we're talking
- 23:06Speaker 8: about on my show. Okay, So I do get it,
- 23:09Speaker 8: and you're right. I just would say, like, if you're
- 23:11Speaker 8: a Patriots fan and you believe, do you believe in
- 23:16Speaker 8: what you're seeing, then what do you care? Like why
- 23:20Speaker 8: this is the thing about Patriots fans I'll never get
- 23:23Speaker 8: is why they care so much about the noise. And yes,
- 23:28Speaker 8: Evan's right, they will have This will be perfect fodder
- 23:32Speaker 8: for Mike and Tony and everybody else that believes that
- 23:35Speaker 8: they're not as good as the record is right, right,
- 23:39Speaker 8: But if you believe they are as good as the record,
- 23:41Speaker 8: is you'll be disappointed that.
- 23:43Speaker 1: They lost, for sure. But maybe if you're but your
- 23:47Speaker 1: mind changes. But if you're what exactly what you ad
- 23:53Speaker 1: your mind changes with more information. If you're worried, that's
- 23:57Speaker 1: what you're worried about.
- 23:58Speaker 8: You're not worried about losing the game because of what
- 24:00Speaker 8: felgrit ma is are going to say, you're worried about
- 24:02Speaker 8: not being as good as you.
- 24:03Speaker 2: Think they are or being told right.
- 24:06Speaker 3: But Connor Aganster says of a topic, if we lose,
- 24:09Speaker 3: will people start to spiral what we all saying. The
- 24:12Speaker 3: hope is we're that we're playing meaningful football games in December.
- 24:15Speaker 3: News flash, that's what this is. We got what we
- 24:18Speaker 3: wish for.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Absolutely, Paul, you're the man.
- 24:22Speaker 7: Yeah, the colpost moved. Yeah, and that's and that's we're
- 24:25Speaker 7: sitting right now. And that's I think what is a
- 24:27Speaker 7: little maybe scary is the word. It's just like it's
- 24:29Speaker 7: all right there for the taking. Like, you win four games,
- 24:32Speaker 7: you're gonna win the division. There's a good chance maybe
- 24:34Speaker 7: you get a buye, you know, And so those thoughts
- 24:36Speaker 7: in the preseason of be great, they win eight games,
- 24:39Speaker 7: like eight nine games, that would be amazing. Now it's like, no,
- 24:42Speaker 7: they're already at eleven soust Accordingly, we've talked about the
- 24:46Speaker 7: opportunity that could exist this year with the teams that
- 24:47Speaker 7: are going to make the playoffs.
- 24:48Speaker 8: You imagine if they go thirteen and four, there will
- 24:51Speaker 8: be people and I think they will be right, that
- 24:54Speaker 8: will be disappointed. Yeah, yeah, yeah, But I think there's
- 24:57Speaker 8: I lose twice, like you lose Sunday like that.
- 25:00Speaker 1: Listen, we all know Buffalo's good. You guys upset it.
- 25:02Speaker 1: Buffalo's good.
- 25:03Speaker 8: They could come in the pictures, could play a really
- 25:04Speaker 8: good game on Sunday and lose because Buffalo just plays
- 25:07Speaker 8: a little bit better. But if you lose twice, that
- 25:11Speaker 8: means you lost to a team with a losing record
- 25:13Speaker 8: in one of the last three games. People are going
- 25:16Speaker 8: to be disappointed. Imagine that if you go thirteen and
- 25:19Speaker 8: four and when the people are going to be disappointed.
- 25:22Speaker 6: I just think there's also a little bit of like
- 25:24Speaker 6: twenty twenty one PTSD of like, yeah, sure they were
- 25:28Speaker 6: not in four in twenty twenty one. Then they lose
- 25:31Speaker 6: to Buffalo, then they they completely to me.
- 25:34Speaker 2: That's all about Matt Jones first, Drake Man, there is no.
- 25:39Speaker 6: But I think that that that's a pattern, right, that
- 25:42Speaker 6: you're just trying to avoid. But I agree, I think
- 25:45Speaker 6: that the difference is is like big picture, I'm with Paul,
- 25:49Speaker 6: like I have no concerns about where they're headed.
- 25:52Speaker 1: Big picture me too.
- 25:53Speaker 6: But in terms of the twenty twenty five season, losing
- 25:56Speaker 6: to Buffalo on Sunday does change You're you get a
- 26:00Speaker 6: little bit want to have a warm seat, You're a
- 26:03Speaker 6: little type.
- 26:04Speaker 8: But like, like, let's flip this to the Buffalo thing.
- 26:06Speaker 8: I was listening to my show yesterday because our good
- 26:09Speaker 8: friend Greg Greg was on. Greg Bdard was on, and
- 26:11Speaker 8: at the end they give him us all right, Greg
- 26:13Speaker 8: gave you know, give us, you know, sixty seconds on
- 26:14Speaker 8: the game. You know, I like the Patriots in this
- 26:17Speaker 8: spot coming off the bye I think they should get
- 26:20Speaker 8: some personnel back. And I just you know, Buffalo is
- 26:22Speaker 8: just not that good. And I just I just look
- 26:26Speaker 8: at it and I'm like, Okay, so Buffalo's nine and
- 26:29Speaker 8: four right now. And I'm not telling you that every
- 26:31Speaker 8: game has looked great, but a lot of their games
- 26:34Speaker 8: have looked they've looked kind of like vintage Buffalo. I mean, like,
- 26:37Speaker 8: you know, Caroline has given everybody fits to your point,
- 26:40Speaker 8: and they beat him like forty to nine on the road. Right,
- 26:43Speaker 8: So let's just not make this Buffalo team out to be,
- 26:47Speaker 8: you know, terrible underachievers.
- 26:50Speaker 1: Right, so they're nine and four.
- 26:53Speaker 8: The game that they played in week five in Buffalo,
- 26:56Speaker 8: let's just say for arguments, you can't do this, it's
- 26:58Speaker 8: a hypothetical. But let's just say the game unfold is
- 27:00Speaker 8: exactly the same way. And that play that Drake made
- 27:03Speaker 8: in the last drive when he almost shut it out,
- 27:07Speaker 8: let's say he got stripsacked and Buffalo wins twenty three
- 27:10Speaker 8: to twenty. So now Buffalo instead of being nine and
- 27:14Speaker 8: four is ten and three, and the Patriots instead of
- 27:17Speaker 8: being eleven and two is ten and three. Is Buffalo
- 27:21Speaker 8: now good because they made one play that they didn't
- 27:25Speaker 8: make in that game?
- 27:26Speaker 1: Is Buffalo? Does that make Buffalo a good team?
- 27:27Speaker 11: Now?
- 27:28Speaker 1: Buffalo is good?
- 27:29Speaker 8: You know what I'm saying, Like, that's the difference between
- 27:32Speaker 8: the teams right now is Drake made an unbelievable play
- 27:37Speaker 8: on the last drive to set up a field goal
- 27:40Speaker 8: and they won the game. That's the difference between Buffalo
- 27:43Speaker 8: being good or bad.
- 27:44Speaker 3: And I can pretty much guarante I can't buy that
- 27:46Speaker 3: I can pretty much guarantee that this game will come
- 27:48Speaker 3: down to a few plays, and.
- 27:50Speaker 8: If it does and the Patriots don't win it, I'm
- 27:52Speaker 8: not going to be shook as a Patriots fan. To
- 27:55Speaker 8: Evan's point, if Josh Allen does what he did in
- 27:58Speaker 8: twenty one and they don't make them punt and the
- 28:02Speaker 8: game's not overly competitive, that might change my opinion of
- 28:06Speaker 8: the twenty five Patriots. Not of Drake may and what's
- 28:09Speaker 8: going on with Mike Vabel and going forward, but the
- 28:11Speaker 8: twenty five. The twenty five outlook might change.
- 28:14Speaker 1: This is the worst Buffalo team that they will face
- 28:17Speaker 1: in quite some time.
- 28:18Speaker 2: I agree.
- 28:19Speaker 1: This is not vulnerable.
- 28:21Speaker 6: This is not as good as they've been, especially defensively. Offensively,
- 28:24Speaker 6: they're still lost.
- 28:25Speaker 8: The numbers are like better than the defense is in
- 28:28Speaker 8: my opinion. Yeah, I keep reading about their past defense
- 28:32Speaker 8: is ranked X or whatever, and I'm just like, I
- 28:34Speaker 8: watched them every weekend. Doesn't never look like they could
- 28:36Speaker 8: stop anybody.
- 28:37Speaker 6: Well, this is why things like DVOA help, because they
- 28:40Speaker 6: just for these types of things. They're seventeenth in past DVOA,
- 28:42Speaker 6: they're twenty second. This is the worst by DVA as
- 28:45Speaker 6: actually talking to Aaron about this, Aaron shats, this is
- 28:48Speaker 6: the worst Bill's defense of the McDermott era. That's nine seasons,
- 28:52Speaker 6: like you're going back to twenty seventeen. So they they're offensively,
- 28:57Speaker 6: they're top five and everything. They're top five and points
- 29:00Speaker 6: their top five in PA DVOA explosive player, like they're
- 29:03Speaker 6: they're a great offense, and he's great, Allen's great. Defensively,
- 29:07Speaker 6: this isn't as good as they've been. And I still
- 29:09Speaker 6: don't think there even though their offenses producing, I think
- 29:12Speaker 6: that's a lot because they have the m v P
- 29:14Speaker 6: playing quarterback, and I don't think their weapons are as
- 29:16Speaker 6: good as they have been.
- 29:18Speaker 8: No, and that they have been particularly hit with the
- 29:21Speaker 8: injuries on defense. Yeah, you know, and some of the
- 29:23Speaker 8: moves that they made, Like who's the guy from the
- 29:25Speaker 8: Rams that can never pronounce his name, that he came
- 29:27Speaker 8: and he played one great game against Kansas City and
- 29:29Speaker 8: blew out his achilles, that hate guy h oct Okay,
- 29:37Speaker 8: he was really good in that game when he blew
- 29:39Speaker 8: out his achilles.
- 29:39Speaker 1: He was really good for the Rams last year.
- 29:41Speaker 8: Yeah, like they were expected. That was a big move
- 29:43Speaker 8: that they made in the off season. He was suspended
- 29:46Speaker 8: when they got him, and then he comes back and
- 29:49Speaker 8: plays really well. He's out, you know, Milano is kind
- 29:52Speaker 8: of always hurt, so I'm not you know, but he's
- 29:53Speaker 8: been in that lineup at all of her excellent interior
- 29:57Speaker 8: defensive lineman.
- 29:57Speaker 1: He's been out for a while now.
- 29:59Speaker 6: Harston's there, first round pick or or least I forget
- 30:02Speaker 6: where exactly they picked him, but the corner and.
- 30:04Speaker 8: When he came back, he made an immediate impact for them.
- 30:07Speaker 8: He's missed some time.
- 30:09Speaker 1: Bernard Torell.
- 30:10Speaker 8: Bernard is a really active He's kind of like a
- 30:12Speaker 8: Robert Spallaine type linebacker, like a smaller athletic guy, but
- 30:16Speaker 8: he makes a lot of plays with them.
- 30:17Speaker 1: He's been in and out of the lineup.
- 30:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:19Speaker 6: Yeah, but this has been a really good specifically really
- 30:22Speaker 6: good pass defense in Buffalo for like the last this
- 30:25Speaker 6: whole run for the Bills, and they just they're they're
- 30:29Speaker 6: not as good there and they've had a lot of
- 30:31Speaker 6: trouble outside of Christian Benford, like they haven't really found
- 30:36Speaker 6: the right mix at safety.
- 30:40Speaker 1: White.
- 30:40Speaker 2: Yeah, what he was right?
- 30:43Speaker 5: Uh real?
- 30:44Speaker 7: Because did you guys hapen to see a keep to
- 30:45Speaker 7: leave it all yesterday online? I'm not saying that the
- 30:48Speaker 7: content like what he said I necessarily agree with. But
- 30:51Speaker 7: he was talking about the Texas, and you know, just
- 30:52Speaker 7: in that draw that he's got, and he's like, man,
- 30:55Speaker 7: tex is they gonna think let the fox throw and.
- 30:57Speaker 9: Get popped like he's just talking like McDaniel's seen it all.
- 31:02Speaker 7: They don't go that defense gonna get them all the
- 31:03Speaker 7: way to Foxville then they get him back, right.
- 31:05Speaker 1: It was just it was more about not the context
- 31:07Speaker 1: of what he said. It's just more the way he
- 31:09Speaker 1: says it. It's just hilarious.
- 31:10Speaker 8: Shouldn't that be what happens? Like the seventh seed if
- 31:12Speaker 8: they go to Foxborough is the two seed?
- 31:14Speaker 1: Should they?
- 31:15Speaker 2: They're playing better now than the beginning of the seed.
- 31:18Speaker 2: So I don't know. I have a lot of respect
- 31:20Speaker 2: for what Texans.
- 31:21Speaker 6: No, I think the Texans are going to be. I
- 31:23Speaker 6: think the Texans are going to win that division, and
- 31:26Speaker 6: I think that it's that could happen. I think the
- 31:27Speaker 6: Texans are going to win the division. The Bills will
- 31:29Speaker 6: be the five seed, Like everybody's worried right now because
- 31:32Speaker 6: the Bills are the Texans could be the seventh seed
- 31:35Speaker 6: playing the two Patriots set. You know here but I
- 31:37Speaker 6: think ultimately will be like Jacksonville or.
- 31:39Speaker 1: We're going to be the number of or whatever.
- 31:42Speaker 7: So I sorry, Fred, just one last thing, I just
- 31:44Speaker 7: I just it was a nice reminder that Josh McDaniels
- 31:47Speaker 7: has seen it all and so, you know, these good
- 31:49Speaker 7: defenses that we talk about. Sure, I respect these defenses,
- 31:52Speaker 7: but at the same time, you've got a guy that
- 31:54Speaker 7: has faced every kind of defense there is. And whether
- 31:56Speaker 7: or not they execute that's a different thing. But I
- 31:59Speaker 7: feel like, no matter who they play, Josh.
- 32:00Speaker 1: McDaniels will have a good plan.
- 32:02Speaker 3: Dan Wright, sin, is it fair to say if we
- 32:04Speaker 3: win this game we can categorize it as an official
- 32:06Speaker 3: we've arrived game?
- 32:08Speaker 2: Well, I think it depends on what you want the
- 32:10Speaker 2: destination to be.
- 32:12Speaker 7: I mean, yeah, I would say the destination is are
- 32:14Speaker 7: you going to be a consistent year in and year
- 32:16Speaker 7: out contender for the Super Bowl?
- 32:18Speaker 1: And I don't know if I go that far yet,
- 32:20Speaker 1: but mane.
- 32:20Speaker 9: Of that division and it is a great you know,
- 32:23Speaker 9: but you know you need to see some consistency to it.
- 32:25Speaker 7: There have been flashing the PAN teams, like, you know,
- 32:28Speaker 7: did Washington arrive last year or have they not arrived?
- 32:31Speaker 1: Like I mean, I still think they're, you know, a
- 32:32Speaker 1: good team when they're healthy.
- 32:33Speaker 7: But you know, it's just to do what the Patriots
- 32:37Speaker 7: did in the twenty and twenty tens of consistently every year.
- 32:40Speaker 1: I mean, that's nobody tells that. You know, if you
- 32:42Speaker 1: could get on a five year run where you're consistently
- 32:44Speaker 1: that's great. You know, that's that's actually.
- 32:47Speaker 2: Win the game for me. It's where we continue to
- 32:49Speaker 2: be on the road to arriving.
- 32:52Speaker 1: You know, Like, I don't Washington didn't win their division,
- 32:54Speaker 1: right for this year, You've arrived.
- 32:57Speaker 2: We've already arrived.
- 32:58Speaker 8: I don't know what it says going for you know,
- 33:01Speaker 8: but I like you guys have said, I I mean,
- 33:04Speaker 8: I don't know how you cannot be optimistic about them.
- 33:06Speaker 2: Yeah, I already believe, right, just get the title.
- 33:09Speaker 7: You know, you guys say, oh, it's it's kind of
- 33:11Speaker 7: like gonna happen for sure. I just I need to
- 33:14Speaker 7: see it, like that needs to be get to the playoffs.
- 33:16Speaker 7: We'll see what happens. But like, just to come out
- 33:18Speaker 7: of this season with a division title, I think that's
- 33:21Speaker 7: just a great thing to fall back on.
- 33:23Speaker 8: You. I can't imagine how I would try to console
- 33:26Speaker 8: you if something happens in disaster strikes and they somehow
- 33:29Speaker 8: find a way to lose three of their last four.
- 33:30Speaker 7: H oh, I know, but but like, but but but
- 33:32Speaker 7: off the let me play wimpy two right now, Like
- 33:36Speaker 7: loose to Lamar Jackson and Tua, who you've only beaten once.
- 33:40Speaker 1: I mean, it's not crazy to think that they could
- 33:42Speaker 1: possibly lose. They're lucky that the Baltimore game doesn't really matter.
- 33:46Speaker 8: Yeah, I look at Baltimore right now. I say something
- 33:48Speaker 8: crazy has to happen for you lose that. But both
- 33:51Speaker 8: the way they look at.
- 33:52Speaker 6: The game itself doesn't actually really matter, Like if they
- 33:54Speaker 6: lose to the Bills on Sunday, the only games that
- 33:56Speaker 6: matter are the two division games at the end of
- 33:58Speaker 6: the year. If you all you got to do is
- 34:00Speaker 6: beat the Jets and the Dolphins and you win the
- 34:02Speaker 6: division even if you lose to Baltimore.
- 34:05Speaker 1: So true.
- 34:06Speaker 6: Like I'm with you with Dolphins though, because the Dolphins
- 34:10Speaker 6: are frisky, they're six and seven, they're in it.
- 34:13Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, if they if that week, see what it
- 34:15Speaker 1: looks like after this week.
- 34:17Speaker 6: If Week eighteen is a meaningful game for both teams,
- 34:20Speaker 6: and the Dolphins have something to play for in that game, right,
- 34:24Speaker 6: and that that becomes a big spot and you'd have.
- 34:26Speaker 9: To lose two divisional games at home, which.
- 34:28Speaker 1: Is you know, it's easy to do. I mean there's games.
- 34:32Speaker 1: I mean, there are always battles.
- 34:34Speaker 6: You just don't want it to be a big spot
- 34:35Speaker 6: against Miami. No, you've seen you've seen good Patriots teams,
- 34:39Speaker 6: I mean twenty nineteen. Yeah, opportunity and lay it, lay
- 34:42Speaker 6: a turn in the last game.
- 34:43Speaker 7: I mean, it's I mean, I don't think you win
- 34:45Speaker 7: that one game over to and you know, but it's
- 34:47Speaker 7: like a reminder, like.
- 34:48Speaker 1: That's the only time you've beaten them. I don't know,
- 34:50Speaker 1: we'll see what that team looks like.
- 34:52Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 34:53Speaker 1: I feel like the Jets. I'm not worried.
- 34:54Speaker 7: I feel like the about the Jets, the way you
- 34:55Speaker 7: feel the right, like there's no way, but well, if
- 34:58Speaker 7: I still get PTSD.
- 34:59Speaker 1: Just looking at the Ravens uniforms, they're good. The Jets
- 35:04Speaker 1: with Brady, I can lose to the Ravens, okay, but.
- 35:07Speaker 2: It's all part of the thing.
- 35:08Speaker 12: Though.
- 35:08Speaker 9: It's like you lose one, then you lose a game,
- 35:11Speaker 9: it didn't matter.
- 35:12Speaker 1: Well, you lost two in a row.
- 35:13Speaker 8: Now you got to come back a couple on the
- 35:15Speaker 8: road games in twenty one to like Indianapolis and Buffalo,
- 35:19Speaker 8: and you're like, oh, that's okay, continue, and then you
- 35:22Speaker 8: lost the game you didn't expect to lose.
- 35:24Speaker 6: And also it also hurts that the Patriots last four
- 35:28Speaker 6: games are all in the AFC, so the Bills are
- 35:32Speaker 6: Their toughest game other than the Patriots is the Eagles,
- 35:34Speaker 6: but it's an NFC game, so that's not going to
- 35:37Speaker 6: be part of the time, and that's not tough part
- 35:40Speaker 6: of the tie breaker. So it goes head to head,
- 35:43Speaker 6: then it will go division record, and then I believe
- 35:45Speaker 6: it goes conference record.
- 35:46Speaker 1: I actually think that for the division. I think that's
- 35:50Speaker 1: the order. There's a conference before Common. I don't those
- 35:53Speaker 1: two are. I don't know which way those two.
- 35:55Speaker 2: Any Common comes first, but I don't know. I'm not sure.
- 35:58Speaker 3: All Right, A five five past five hundred is the
- 36:01Speaker 3: hot line. Let's see what you have to say. Mark's
- 36:03Speaker 3: in Connecticut. What's up, Mark?
- 36:06Speaker 13: Hey, guys, thanks for taking my call. I'm super excited.
- 36:09Speaker 14: I'm actually going to be at the game this weekend,
- 36:11Speaker 14: and I just.
- 36:12Speaker 13: Want to see us dominate as Buffalo Bills. The question
- 36:17Speaker 13: that I have is Milton Williams.
- 36:19Speaker 15: Do we know what his like re have processes right now?
- 36:22Speaker 3: Like how's he looking?
- 36:24Speaker 13: And is he eligible to return for the Baltimore game?
- 36:27Speaker 1: No, no, Miami.
- 36:29Speaker 7: He walked through the locker room on Monday, looked normal,
- 36:32Speaker 7: nothing on his leg or anything like that. I mean,
- 36:34Speaker 7: you know, he's just walking, so I mean high ankle sprain.
- 36:36Speaker 7: I don't think you'd really even notice anything really anyway,
- 36:38Speaker 7: but for what it's worked, he's in there.
- 36:40Speaker 1: He looked like he's rehaving.
- 36:42Speaker 6: Yeah, they said, I think when the eligible Iami Miami
- 36:46Speaker 6: week seventeen.
- 36:47Speaker 1: No, sorry, he's second Miami for Campbell is Miami. Yeah, yeah, gotcha.
- 36:54Speaker 14: Awesome, Thanks guys, Love you guys.
- 36:56Speaker 2: Okay, thank you too.
- 36:57Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 36:58Speaker 6: You know what I'll say, like when you go in
- 37:00Speaker 6: locker room and people are like, is he limp? Like
- 37:02Speaker 6: you have to analyze his limp?
- 37:04Speaker 1: And I did that the other day, watch watch everybody,
- 37:08Speaker 1: and like I just.
- 37:09Speaker 6: Have decided that, Like I'm not a doctor, like I
- 37:11Speaker 6: don't like all these guys. First of all, they're all
- 37:13Speaker 6: football players, so they all limp, Like all of them
- 37:15Speaker 6: have a little bit like a weird gait, especially the
- 37:19Speaker 6: veteran guys because they've been playing for so long. So
- 37:21Speaker 6: like I'm not going to like micro analyze like his
- 37:25Speaker 6: his gait, like how is he limping?
- 37:27Speaker 5: Is he?
- 37:27Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 37:27Speaker 7: I did it with Will Campbell when I saw him
- 37:29Speaker 7: in the locker, so I'm like, he looks fine, get
- 37:31Speaker 7: him out there.
- 37:32Speaker 1: The one guy I will say that looked fine was
- 37:34Speaker 1: Jared Wilson.
- 37:35Speaker 6: Jared Wilson as soon as we saw him after the
- 37:37Speaker 6: injury scare in Cincinnati, he looked fine.
- 37:40Speaker 1: I the other two I don't know, but let's talk
- 37:42Speaker 1: we talk about that for a second.
- 37:43Speaker 7: Just it's an interesting thing to me of a rookie
- 37:45Speaker 7: left guard who you know clearly was having a good season,
- 37:47Speaker 7: but you know, Ben Brown a little bit more experienced.
- 37:50Speaker 1: You've got Vederian Low. Do you put any consideration to that,
- 37:53Speaker 1: you know? Mix, Yeah, I don't know.
- 37:55Speaker 9: Maybe I just like he's a little more Again, I'm
- 37:58Speaker 9: not sure.
- 37:59Speaker 6: It's a question to me of like is it Jared
- 38:02Speaker 6: Wilson at eighty five percent versus Ben Brown at one
- 38:05Speaker 6: hundred or are they both fully healthy? Because I might
- 38:09Speaker 6: keep Ben Brown in there if Jared Wilson's less than
- 38:11Speaker 6: one hundred percent.
- 38:12Speaker 9: Is there anything to be said though for low being
- 38:14Speaker 9: out there?
- 38:15Speaker 1: You know, Like, I don't know.
- 38:16Speaker 7: I'm just saying, like Ben Brown a little bit more experienced,
- 38:19Speaker 7: Like is there any kind of connective tissue that you
- 38:21Speaker 7: would rather have a little bit more experienced guy between
- 38:23Speaker 7: the center and the tackle?
- 38:24Speaker 1: Just I don't know, because decision.
- 38:27Speaker 6: They didn't if Brown and low were like the backups
- 38:31Speaker 6: on that side all summer and they had all these
- 38:34Speaker 6: reps in the book, but they didn't because Vederian Lowe
- 38:38Speaker 6: was hurt for a lot of training camp. So I
- 38:40Speaker 6: remember talking to Viderian Lowe last week or the week before,
- 38:44Speaker 6: and he was like, up until this week, we really
- 38:46Speaker 6: haven't practiced together. Yeah, So like I don't think there's
- 38:49Speaker 6: any real like chemistry advantage necessarily, I just look at
- 38:54Speaker 6: it more.
- 38:55Speaker 1: I don't know if Jared Wilson is at.
- 38:57Speaker 6: That point where like it's not like it's Quentin Neilson
- 39:00Speaker 6: where it's like, okay, at eighty five percent, yeah we're putting,
- 39:02Speaker 6: we're putting your experience.
- 39:04Speaker 1: Point.
- 39:05Speaker 8: Brown doesn't have much experience playing guard.
- 39:07Speaker 2: Yeah that's fair, you know, Yeah, I.
- 39:09Speaker 1: Think it's an interesting question.
- 39:10Speaker 7: Yeah, I just wonder how much goes into it of
- 39:13Speaker 7: I mean, you're right for Wilson's one hundred percent.
- 39:15Speaker 8: He probably goes, I mean there's an argument to be
- 39:17Speaker 8: made that if they think that Ben Brown's better and
- 39:20Speaker 8: maybe they wait a little bit longer.
- 39:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that you could have two healthy guys
- 39:25Speaker 2: for the playoffs.
- 39:26Speaker 1: You could make an argument for that.
- 39:27Speaker 8: Tevan's probably right about the status for Wilson will determine.
- 39:31Speaker 2: It Ken las Vegas.
- 39:33Speaker 3: He says on December third, prior to the Buffalo Cincinnati game,
- 39:36Speaker 3: the Patriots were one and a half point favorites versus
- 39:39Speaker 3: Buffalo this week, and after the Buffalo Cincinnati game, the
- 39:43Speaker 3: line switched to Buffalo as a one point five point favorite.
- 39:46Speaker 3: According to Google ai quote, the initial odds saw money
- 39:50Speaker 3: pour in on the Bills flipping the line to favorite Buffalo.
- 39:54Speaker 8: Yeah, I saw, I definitely Last week saw that the
- 40:00Speaker 8: the future line had the Patriots favored, and I was
- 40:03Speaker 8: very surprised that the Patriots didn't play and the Bills
- 40:07Speaker 8: kind of struggled, sorry and survived have well.
- 40:11Speaker 1: So the future line was before the Bengals game. That
- 40:14Speaker 1: would be just before the Bengals game, So that was
- 40:16Speaker 1: coming off the Steelers game. For the right, but this
- 40:20Speaker 1: is like, what do you say, December third?
- 40:22Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, so like pretty recent, like within a week, right.
- 40:26Speaker 6: I just was wondering which games the future line was
- 40:30Speaker 6: because like if you that line comes out after like
- 40:32Speaker 6: the Houston game for Buffalo, then I could understand thinking
- 40:35Speaker 6: that Buffalo is in trouble. I mean, they played, they
- 40:39Speaker 6: ran the ball really well again.
- 40:40Speaker 8: But it is it's all about the analytics that they
- 40:42Speaker 8: do and then it moves based on the money. And
- 40:47Speaker 8: I don't think that might be right what he said.
- 40:50Speaker 8: I don't think this significant money coming in on a
- 40:52Speaker 8: game to move a line like two weeks ahead of time, Like,
- 40:57Speaker 8: I don't. I don't think there's this significant line movement
- 41:00Speaker 8: based on that. I think it's weirdly to me, it's based.
- 41:04Speaker 2: On two weeks. He said. After the Cincinnati game the
- 41:09Speaker 2: money poured in, but the.
- 41:11Speaker 8: First line after the Cincinnati game had the Patriots underdogs, right.
- 41:14Speaker 8: I don't think the significant money coming in on the
- 41:17Speaker 8: Bills like in the immediate aftermath of the Bengals game.
- 41:20Speaker 2: That's what he said, That's what google.
- 41:22Speaker 6: But I could see how they were all in agreement
- 41:26Speaker 6: after the Texans Steelers game, where the Bills dominated the Steelers,
- 41:31Speaker 6: but it wasn't a flashy win.
- 41:32Speaker 1: They ran the ball forty five times, but you.
- 41:34Speaker 8: Could say, oh, you know, the defense shut him down
- 41:37Speaker 8: the running game, they kept the ball away for yeah,
- 41:39Speaker 8: but that didn't happen in the Cincinnati game.
- 41:41Speaker 1: The Cincinnati game was survival.
- 41:42Speaker 6: But the Cincinnati game, though, I think what I'm getting
- 41:45Speaker 6: at is like I could see the line moving because
- 41:47Speaker 6: Alan played like a near perfect game against the Bengals.
- 41:50Speaker 1: I mean, he was just awesome.
- 41:52Speaker 6: So if you watch that game and you see Josh
- 41:55Speaker 6: Allen put up like basically a perfect game against the Bengals,
- 41:59Speaker 6: you might think yourself, all right, maybe we need to
- 42:01Speaker 6: give the Bills some more respect.
- 42:03Speaker 1: I don't know about the money side of it. That's
- 42:05Speaker 1: what I would do. You know how I would react.
- 42:07Speaker 2: To Williams in Montreal. Hey, william Hi.
- 42:11Speaker 16: Last time I called, we were playing Buffalo, and I asked,
- 42:16Speaker 16: if Drake Man goes into Buffalo and I'll duels Josh Allen,
- 42:19Speaker 16: will he be considered m v P.
- 42:23Speaker 5: Paul.
- 42:23Speaker 16: You proceeded to say, no, he won't. It's too early
- 42:26Speaker 16: into the season and nobody's looking at it too. And
- 42:29Speaker 16: two team and their quarterback as MVP front runner now
- 42:34Speaker 16: that Josh Allen is coming to Gelt Stadium, and like
- 42:37Speaker 16: how Fred likes to say, we got our guy. I
- 42:42Speaker 16: mean he outplays Allen again? Is he the clear uh?
- 42:49Speaker 16: MVP front runner?
- 42:50Speaker 2: Thank you and William. Are there a lot of Bills
- 42:53Speaker 2: fans in Montreal?
- 42:57Speaker 16: I mean, my, my, I have a few people I
- 43:01Speaker 16: know that like Buffalo. Definitely not the closest people I'm with,
- 43:07Speaker 16: But I try avoiding those people because friends are crazy. No,
- 43:16Speaker 16: the majority of them, like Buffalo. There's a few Patriots
- 43:20Speaker 16: signs here in Montreal. There's forty nine Ers fans. There's
- 43:23Speaker 16: a bunch of bands everywhere.
- 43:24Speaker 3: Okay, I'm just curious because I think the Bills like
- 43:27Speaker 3: to fashion themselves as the team of Montreal and Toronto.
- 43:33Speaker 1: Right across the Yeah.
- 43:36Speaker 8: Yeah, I would say that the and I totally remember saying, no,
- 43:41Speaker 8: that's not going to you know, like one game. But
- 43:43Speaker 8: I would say that if Drake May didn't do what
- 43:47Speaker 8: he did in every other game, he wouldn't be an
- 43:49Speaker 8: MVP candidate based on one game in primetime. Now, he
- 43:54Speaker 8: absolutely got on the radar that night, and the Patriots
- 43:56Speaker 8: got on the radar that night with their performance. But
- 43:59Speaker 8: Drake made that did it every week for the next
- 44:01Speaker 8: nine weeks or whatever it was after that too, So
- 44:04Speaker 8: that's why he's an MVP candidate. And if he does
- 44:07Speaker 8: it again Sunday, I need to know what Matthew Stafford
- 44:10Speaker 8: does because I don't really look at Josh Allen. I
- 44:12Speaker 8: know Josh is probably creeping up.
- 44:14Speaker 1: Is he third?
- 44:14Speaker 2: Now fourth?
- 44:15Speaker 1: He's fourth?
- 44:16Speaker 8: Okay, so I know he's entering the pitcher. But to me,
- 44:18Speaker 8: this is a two horse race. It's May and it's Stafford.
- 44:20Speaker 6: The lines would agree with you, minus one eighty for Stafford,
- 44:24Speaker 6: minus two ten for May.
- 44:25Speaker 1: Then everybody else's You know.
- 44:27Speaker 8: Does Stafford have another game like he did Sunday against
- 44:30Speaker 8: the Cardinals where he's sort of on the sideline for
- 44:33Speaker 8: the fourth quarter because he decimated Arizona so much? Or
- 44:36Speaker 8: is it like the week before that in Carolina where
- 44:40Speaker 8: for the first time in like ten weeks, he turned
- 44:42Speaker 8: the ball over a couple of times.
- 44:43Speaker 6: Yeah, I would say that these next two weeks, though,
- 44:46Speaker 6: you know, Buffalo and Baltimore in prime time.
- 44:48Speaker 5: Yep.
- 44:48Speaker 6: If Drake May is two to zero and has two
- 44:50Speaker 6: really good games against Alan Lamar, it's gonna be hard
- 44:54Speaker 6: to not see him as the MVP like that, I.
- 44:57Speaker 8: Think it's it's going to be up to what Stafford does.
- 45:00Speaker 8: I think that's part of it. I don't think that
- 45:01Speaker 8: May can just win.
- 45:02Speaker 6: I just want to you know, I'm big on the
- 45:04Speaker 6: MVP thing. I know I probably care about it too much.
- 45:06Speaker 6: I just like I hope that voters are consistent with it.
- 45:10Speaker 6: I do because if you voted for Josh Allen last
- 45:13Speaker 6: year over Lamar, then you should be voting for Drake
- 45:16Speaker 6: May over Matthew Stafford. The reason why Josh Allen won
- 45:19Speaker 6: it last year is because everybody said he had a
- 45:21Speaker 6: worse supporting cast than Lamar Jackson. If you give Drake May,
- 45:26Speaker 6: Puka Nakua and DeVante Adams just like Stafford, you know,
- 45:30Speaker 6: you don't know.
- 45:31Speaker 1: It is a good argument.
- 45:33Speaker 8: It's a really good argument because you look at the
- 45:34Speaker 8: way Josh Allen won the games too. Had to have
- 45:37Speaker 8: factored in because he won games last year down the
- 45:40Speaker 8: stretch the way he did against Cincinnati, and as great
- 45:44Speaker 8: as May has been, the Patriots have been so good
- 45:47Speaker 8: that they haven't had to do that. Yeah, it's not
- 45:49Speaker 8: Drake May's fault that he hasn't had to have fourth
- 45:51Speaker 8: quarter comebacks because they have the lead all the time. Yep,
- 45:54Speaker 8: you know, But unfortunately, I think in the voter's eyes
- 45:57Speaker 8: sometimes that stuff is what stands out.
- 46:00Speaker 5: You know.
- 46:01Speaker 8: Even Caleb Williams has got like five come from behind
- 46:03Speaker 8: wins this year, no one would say Caleb Williams has
- 46:05Speaker 8: played better than Drake May.
- 46:07Speaker 2: I'm close Tony's in Canada. What's up Tony?
- 46:11Speaker 3: Hey?
- 46:11Speaker 15: Guys? Yeah, Well, interested about that game this weekend. That's
- 46:16Speaker 15: going to be really exciting. So many things I'd like
- 46:19Speaker 15: to say, But regarding May, I think we really lucked
- 46:23Speaker 15: out of the three that quarterbacks that came out that year,
- 46:27Speaker 15: we got the best one, not just because of his talent,
- 46:30Speaker 15: but because of his work ethic and his personality. And
- 46:34Speaker 15: if you listen to Josh talk about him, he stresses that,
- 46:38Speaker 15: you know, how much of a how smart he is,
- 46:41Speaker 15: how quick he picks up his personality. But here's what
- 46:45Speaker 15: I called in about. Do you think maybe not enough
- 46:48Speaker 15: is being said about the Patriots' red zone, the issues
- 46:54Speaker 15: in terms of being able to get into the red
- 46:56Speaker 15: zone score touchdowns rather than field goals.
- 47:00Speaker 2: It's certainly been talked about.
- 47:01Speaker 15: It's going to be Yeah, I know that's gonna have
- 47:04Speaker 15: a critical decision in terms of our outcome for games.
- 47:08Speaker 15: So wondering if you guys think, how are we going
- 47:10Speaker 15: to change things up? I heard Bart and Alex they
- 47:15Speaker 15: talked about possibly running kind of like plays running May
- 47:19Speaker 15: more trying to run me into the end zone release
- 47:21Speaker 15: making a threat. Do you guys think that'll happen?
- 47:24Speaker 3: What you guys see, Well, listen, I mean your original
- 47:27Speaker 3: thing is is it being talked about enough? I mean
- 47:29Speaker 3: even Vrabel mentioned it that that's something that they're going
- 47:31Speaker 3: to be working on during the bye.
- 47:34Speaker 2: Yeah, the bye. I mean they know what's a problem.
- 47:37Speaker 6: That's all I've thought about for two weeks. Yeah, you know,
- 47:40Speaker 6: but like mixing the red zone.
- 47:41Speaker 2: May, establishing May as a threat down there can't hurt.
- 47:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 47:45Speaker 6: Yeah, And they're twenty fourth in the league right now
- 47:47Speaker 6: in red zone offense, they're down near the bottom of
- 47:51Speaker 6: the league and goal to go as well. If you're
- 47:54Speaker 6: not going to win in the playoffs like that. Now,
- 47:56Speaker 6: I think there's two ways you can look at it.
- 47:58Speaker 6: One would be to expand the p book down there,
- 48:01Speaker 6: you know, with May's legs or you know, whether it's
- 48:04Speaker 6: RPO zone read whatever, move in the pocket you know,
- 48:06Speaker 6: just incorporating his legs somehow. The other way, which might
- 48:10Speaker 6: be the way they end up having to go, is well,
- 48:12Speaker 6: if you can't score in the red zone, just to
- 48:14Speaker 6: start taking shots from right outside the red zone, like
- 48:17Speaker 6: once you get to the twenty five. Yeah, just just
- 48:20Speaker 6: you know, to have him throw, you know, vertically into
- 48:23Speaker 6: the end zone from from outside the red zone. So
- 48:26Speaker 6: you know, those high red zone shot plays might be
- 48:28Speaker 6: another way that they can kind of get around that.
- 48:32Speaker 6: But they don't have the the personnel right now on
- 48:35Speaker 6: the offensive line to like move people on the goal line.
- 48:38Speaker 1: It's just they just haven't been able to run the
- 48:40Speaker 1: football down there.
- 48:41Speaker 7: Do you have any hope that Ramandro Stevenson with the
- 48:43Speaker 7: bye week, just has a little bit more juice.
- 48:45Speaker 9: Like I felt the last couple of games when he
- 48:47Speaker 9: came back.
- 48:47Speaker 2: I just feel like, I think it's all about the line.
- 48:50Speaker 8: And this is one of these ridiculous things that I
- 48:53Speaker 8: throw out there that I have no information on. I
- 48:56Speaker 8: feel like the red zone problem kind of started when
- 48:58Speaker 8: he got hurt. I don't remember earlier in the year
- 49:00Speaker 8: that I'm having as many problems running, and I.
- 49:02Speaker 6: Think it started when he fumbled. When he started having
- 49:05Speaker 6: the fumble issues, and it could it could be, it.
- 49:08Speaker 8: Could be, but I do think that he's an important
- 49:10Speaker 8: part of that. They need him, They need him to
- 49:13Speaker 8: be the batter and ram that he has always been.
- 49:15Speaker 1: I just like I I when you're running the ball
- 49:18Speaker 1: on the one yard line, like you can run through
- 49:20Speaker 1: somebody in school, you think that maybe he's too tentative.
- 49:23Speaker 8: I just try that.
- 49:25Speaker 1: Like, I understand that it would be ideal to block
- 49:27Speaker 1: it up and get a nice clean.
- 49:28Speaker 8: Shot at it, but mostly that's not how you got right.
- 49:32Speaker 6: And so you know, hopefully they can put Toga back
- 49:36Speaker 6: there and they put you know, Remondra behind Tonga, and
- 49:39Speaker 6: you know, you just ram it into the end zone,
- 49:42Speaker 6: like and that shouldn't be this hard, Yeah, nobody should.
- 49:45Speaker 7: I still just remember the Remondery of Week one last year,
- 49:47Speaker 7: you know, breaking tackles left and right in the backfield.
- 49:50Speaker 1: I mean, not a necessity.
- 49:51Speaker 7: But you know, we just we talked to him in
- 49:53Speaker 7: the locker room a couple of weeks style about fumble.
- 49:56Speaker 8: That point that Evan made about the fumbles is probably accurate.
- 50:00Speaker 8: Maybe why because you don't get a lot. I mean,
- 50:02Speaker 8: it happens once in a while where it just opens
- 50:04Speaker 8: up in the goal line the guy Waltz is in.
- 50:05Speaker 8: That doesn't happen a lot. Yeah, yeah, you know, usually
- 50:07Speaker 8: you've got to make some you got to you know,
- 50:09Speaker 8: fight through a linebacker or in the gap or something.
- 50:11Speaker 8: And I mean, you say, so many guys you can
- 50:14Speaker 8: block it.
- 50:14Speaker 1: Just it makes me wonder.
- 50:15Speaker 7: I brought this topic up thinking about his toe and
- 50:17Speaker 7: just health, but maybe it's even a mental thing where
- 50:19Speaker 7: it's like we're eleven and two almost.
- 50:23Speaker 3: You know.
- 50:23Speaker 7: But I was gonna say, we talked to him in
- 50:25Speaker 7: the locker room a couple weeks ago, and it just,
- 50:26Speaker 7: you know, when he first came back, and it seemed
- 50:27Speaker 7: to me like he's still really fighting through something.
- 50:31Speaker 1: It's not like, oh, I'm healthy, now I'm back it.
- 50:33Speaker 17: You know.
- 50:33Speaker 1: It feels like this is going to be a process
- 50:34Speaker 1: to get over this toe thing, whatever it was.
- 50:36Speaker 6: So that's that's why the mad like option plays could help,
- 50:41Speaker 6: because like you're when you're down by the goal line,
- 50:44Speaker 6: you don't have to put a safety in the deep
- 50:45Speaker 6: part of the field because there is no deep part
- 50:47Speaker 6: of the field. So now that safety is in the
- 50:49Speaker 6: box sure, near the line of scrimmage. So now you're
- 50:51Speaker 6: you're you can't, like to Paul's point, you can't block
- 50:54Speaker 6: them all. And so if you have Drake, then you're
- 50:57Speaker 6: able to use him to hold the backside and it
- 51:00Speaker 6: occupies a defender, maybe even two defenders depending on how
- 51:03Speaker 6: you design it. So that way there, you're actually gonna
- 51:06Speaker 6: leave those guys purposely unblocked and you're gonna hope that
- 51:09Speaker 6: they react to the quarterback and then you can get
- 51:12Speaker 6: the numbers to where you're actually trying to run the football.
- 51:15Speaker 6: So like in theory that that's why those plays work
- 51:18Speaker 6: so well in like short yardage and low red zone
- 51:20Speaker 6: opportunities is because you're you're evening up the numbers. Now
- 51:23Speaker 6: you're playing eleven on eleven instead of ten on eleven
- 51:26Speaker 6: if you're the offense.
- 51:27Speaker 7: Jordan is in Canada, Jordan, Yes, Jordan, or Jordan's Jordan.
- 51:34Speaker 10: Hi.
- 51:34Speaker 18: Guys as just generally anxious person and anxious Patriots fan.
- 51:41Speaker 18: I want so badly to just jump on the Drake
- 51:44Speaker 18: May thing and like be like, yes, he saved us,
- 51:48Speaker 18: He's our guy, you know, And I'm starting to become convinced.
- 51:51Speaker 18: But something that Evan said.
- 51:53Speaker 19: Yesterday kind of made me question or it made me think,
- 51:56Speaker 19: so the cause Evan yesterday you said something along the
- 52:00Speaker 19: lines of the Patriots won't will likely not lose in
- 52:06Speaker 19: a fashion of like a defensive rock fight. You can
- 52:10Speaker 19: more likely see them losing in like a shootout, like
- 52:15Speaker 19: a battle to the end.
- 52:17Speaker 18: And I was just wondering why you guys think that,
- 52:20Speaker 18: because honestly, the offense hasn't scored over like twenty something
- 52:24Speaker 18: points all season, So why do you think that we
- 52:27Speaker 18: have a better shot in winning a game like forty
- 52:30Speaker 18: five to forty three? Like, I don't know, I just
- 52:34Speaker 18: don't see it. I want to that's exciting, but like,
- 52:37Speaker 18: I don't know, I'm just not convinced. I want to
- 52:40Speaker 18: be convinced. So what are your guys just thow?
- 52:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I think question or flopped it.
- 52:46Speaker 1: I think you're better off winning a game, a lower
- 52:49Speaker 1: scoring game, So you.
- 52:51Speaker 2: Think there's more chance they win a rock fight than
- 52:53Speaker 2: a shootout.
- 52:54Speaker 1: Correct. I haven't seen them win a shootout. They haven't
- 52:57Speaker 1: really had to, right, right, So that's that's valid.
- 53:00Speaker 8: That would be My argument is, like we talk about
- 53:02Speaker 8: that they haven't scored that many points, like offensive points, well,
- 53:07Speaker 8: the most points they've allowed is what twenty seven? Yeah,
- 53:10Speaker 8: and that was once with a kick with a punt return,
- 53:13Speaker 8: it was twenty three.
- 53:14Speaker 6: Otherwise, it's under twenty three that during the entire winning streak,
- 53:17Speaker 6: they haven't given up more than twenty three in ten.
- 53:19Speaker 8: Stright, right, I mean, the only the only time they
- 53:21Speaker 8: give up twenty three in any game was the Miami
- 53:23Speaker 8: game that they give up the punt return for a touchdown.
- 53:25Speaker 6: I guess that was really only twenty that one. I
- 53:27Speaker 6: guess you could it was a mini shootout. I don't
- 53:30Speaker 6: know if that was a full flag shootout, and I.
- 53:32Speaker 8: Would, you know, sub mini shootout, subtract the seven for both,
- 53:35Speaker 8: because right, you know, the Patriots then in turn turned
- 53:38Speaker 8: the kick off of the punt return for a touchdown.
- 53:41Speaker 8: But yeah, to Jordan's point, they haven't really been in
- 53:45Speaker 8: those shootouts, and maybe you don't know if they can
- 53:47Speaker 8: they can win one.
- 53:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I.
- 53:53Speaker 8: I don't know how i'd feel relying on the defense
- 53:56Speaker 8: to win the game. I think the defense has not
- 53:58Speaker 8: been put in a ton of really bad spots. When
- 54:01Speaker 8: they have, they've come through every time I've chronicled Miami, Cincinnati,
- 54:05Speaker 8: New Orleans like they've when they've had to stop the
- 54:07Speaker 8: other team at the end of the game they have.
- 54:09Speaker 1: I don't know if you want to be in that situation.
- 54:12Speaker 6: I think I more look at it just from like
- 54:15Speaker 6: how the script of the game, like how the game
- 54:18Speaker 6: flow goes, Like I don't know if it's necessarily relying
- 54:20Speaker 6: on the defense, but maybe it's a short it's a
- 54:22Speaker 6: shortened game where each team only has like eight possessions,
- 54:26Speaker 6: and like I just feel like the Patriots, I'm more
- 54:29Speaker 6: look at them as an efficient offense, not necessarily a
- 54:31Speaker 6: volume offense, Like they're very, very efficient, but in the
- 54:35Speaker 6: plays that they run.
- 54:36Speaker 1: But I haven't seen them.
- 54:38Speaker 6: You know, I haven't seen Drake mego against Josh Allen
- 54:41Speaker 6: and win forty five to forty.
- 54:42Speaker 1: I'm not saying you can't.
- 54:44Speaker 6: I'm just saying you haven't seen it, right, So I
- 54:46Speaker 6: just I would rather all year long, they've been playing
- 54:49Speaker 6: games that are are like you know in this that
- 54:52Speaker 6: that twenty three point range right, Like I.
- 54:58Speaker 8: Haven't really lit the school board up. Even their offense
- 55:00Speaker 8: has been really good.
- 55:01Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, I'm just thinking of the Bengals Bills game
- 55:03Speaker 7: last weekend where you know, it's all of a sudden,
- 55:05Speaker 7: Joe Burrow is taking the field and he needs to
- 55:07Speaker 7: go score. You know, those kind of situations you haven't
- 55:10Speaker 7: really seen them in And that's maybe one of the
- 55:13Speaker 7: things I'm wondering most about this game. Is this game
- 55:16Speaker 7: going to be a game that's a little off script
- 55:18Speaker 7: from what we've seen, because I mean, I mean, and
- 55:20Speaker 7: maybe this is I don't know, I'm just this is
- 55:21Speaker 7: off the top of my head. But I would say generally,
- 55:23Speaker 7: like the games have all kind of felt the same, like,
- 55:25Speaker 7: you know, there's maybe some little lulls, but generally they
- 55:27Speaker 7: kind of just keep pulling away and then in the
- 55:29Speaker 7: second half they're able to ice it out and you know,
- 55:32Speaker 7: the other team never really makes that late push where
- 55:35Speaker 7: you're like, Okay, Drake, there's four minutes left in the
- 55:37Speaker 7: fourth quarter.
- 55:38Speaker 1: Josh Allen just let his team down the field. Now
- 55:40Speaker 1: it's your turn to go do it.
- 55:41Speaker 7: And to me, that's the perfect like MVP showcase, you know,
- 55:45Speaker 7: like it's just that that could line up to.
- 55:46Speaker 1: Be a perfect feather and Drake mayscap.
- 55:49Speaker 8: And I know you want to go to the emails, Freddie,
- 55:51Speaker 8: I'll give you one more thing that I would like
- 55:53Speaker 8: about the Patriots chances in one of those rock fight
- 55:55Speaker 8: kind of games, is I think Rabel and stretch have
- 55:58Speaker 8: demonstrated a really good asp of game situations. You know,
- 56:03Speaker 8: you asked me yesterday any clock management an that kind,
- 56:07Speaker 8: you know, any ref bashing? Well, I left out an
- 56:09Speaker 8: enormous one from one of the guys that I have
- 56:11Speaker 8: the most respect for. And Andy Reid going for a
- 56:14Speaker 8: fourth down, you know, in a ten ten game at
- 56:17Speaker 8: that time, was certainly risky. Now I understand probably more
- 56:22Speaker 8: than most. Like everybody says, you know, so people that
- 56:25Speaker 8: don't know it was tie game, fourth quarter, they're in there.
- 56:28Speaker 8: I think they're on their own thirty one. They went
- 56:30Speaker 8: for a fourth and a long one and I think
- 56:33Speaker 8: Rashi Rice dropped a pass and I'll obviously kind of
- 56:37Speaker 8: just handed Houston to go ahead points. Everybody said that
- 56:41Speaker 8: was dumb. He should have punted. Your defense was playing
- 56:45Speaker 8: really well. I would kind of counter. Now, I would
- 56:48Speaker 8: have punted, full disclosure, I absolutely would have punted. But
- 56:53Speaker 8: if the reason I would have punted it was because
- 56:54Speaker 8: my defense was playing really well, well, shouldn't I expect
- 56:58Speaker 8: the defense to continue to play really well and up
- 57:00Speaker 8: with a stop and make him.
- 57:01Speaker 1: Kick a field goal.
- 57:02Speaker 8: You make it a little bit tougher, but you'll let
- 57:04Speaker 8: him go six place thirty one yards touchdown, like if
- 57:07Speaker 8: you if you give up a field goal there, my
- 57:09Speaker 8: defense continued to play well, like I think he was
- 57:11Speaker 8: showing confidence in his defense.
- 57:13Speaker 1: Is my point?
- 57:13Speaker 12: Oh?
- 57:14Speaker 6: Yes, you just that you just made the nerd argument.
- 57:17Speaker 6: That's what that that's the nerd argument right there. But
- 57:20Speaker 6: then is that if you look at you that way,
- 57:22Speaker 6: if you rely on it, if you're saying I don't
- 57:25Speaker 6: really like myself right now, if you're saying that your
- 57:27Speaker 6: defense is the strength, then shouldn't you trust your defense
- 57:31Speaker 6: to hold.
- 57:32Speaker 2: That your defense? If I don't get it, my defense
- 57:37Speaker 2: is going to come through.
- 57:38Speaker 8: And but there's ten minutes left, I'm okay being down three, right,
- 57:42Speaker 8: I'll give them because.
- 57:43Speaker 1: He did he did it, but he didn't know he
- 57:44Speaker 1: did it, and I like that you No, No, I
- 57:47Speaker 1: backed into it. I knew what I was doing.
- 57:49Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 57:50Speaker 1: But the thing that that really stood out to me
- 57:53Speaker 1: was it's not like.
- 57:57Speaker 8: This whole thing about the analytics that never like they
- 58:01Speaker 8: don't take the game situation. That's why I would have
- 58:04Speaker 8: punted because I don't need to get the yard. The
- 58:08Speaker 8: yard like to me, is not like going to translate
- 58:10Speaker 8: to points. Like let's just say they got it. It's
- 58:12Speaker 8: a rock fight. That doesn't mean you're that you're eminently
- 58:15Speaker 8: going to score now. You might ultimately end up having
- 58:17Speaker 8: a punt anyway, So just punt.
- 58:19Speaker 1: Play it safe.
- 58:20Speaker 8: Don't put yourself in a situation where and Evan will
- 58:23Speaker 8: have the numbers. I don't know what it is, like
- 58:25Speaker 8: fourth and fourth and one. You probably have like an
- 58:29Speaker 8: eighty plus percent chance of converting.
- 58:30Speaker 1: That very high, Like I don't know exactly what it
- 58:33Speaker 1: is for twenty twenty.
- 58:35Speaker 8: A situation where one like you have the one of
- 58:39Speaker 8: the ten percent is going to cost you a game.
- 58:41Speaker 1: Right, And they don't.
- 58:43Speaker 3: They don't do the analytics, don't take in game situations
- 58:46Speaker 3: not part of the Curry Street mentioned it in the
- 58:48Speaker 3: last game.
- 58:49Speaker 8: Time and scorer is not really a big part of
- 58:51Speaker 8: those analytics.
- 58:52Speaker 3: It's also like, let's just say what a key defensive
- 58:55Speaker 3: player is hurt your guy in this particular game, and
- 58:59Speaker 3: that changes it.
- 59:00Speaker 8: Don't take time, I know, which is not true.
- 59:02Speaker 1: I'm just thanking you for that.
- 59:03Speaker 2: That's okay.
- 59:06Speaker 7: Let me ask you a question going into this game
- 59:08Speaker 7: for the Patriots perspective, would you go in with an
- 59:10Speaker 7: aggressive attitude?
- 59:11Speaker 9: Would you be saying to your team we need to
- 59:13Speaker 9: be aggressive tonight.
- 59:14Speaker 7: We need to you know, if we have a fourth
- 59:15Speaker 7: and two or you know, inside the twenty and we're
- 59:18Speaker 7: gonna need touchdowns to beat this.
- 59:19Speaker 8: Guy in Yes, I would have that, but it can
- 59:21Speaker 8: like this is why I would have caught game to players,
- 59:24Speaker 8: of course, because it's ten ten in the fourth quarter
- 59:26Speaker 8: in a freezing cold night where the offenses are not
- 59:28Speaker 8: really doing a whole lot.
- 59:29Speaker 6: Now, Yeah, that that's a That's the type of stuff
- 59:32Speaker 6: that that the math won't necessarily take into account, is
- 59:35Speaker 6: like what kind of game is unfolding in front of us?
- 59:37Speaker 1: What are the conditions? Who's hurt?
- 59:39Speaker 6: Like all those different types of things. But down in
- 59:41Speaker 6: distance and time left in the game is that's what
- 59:44Speaker 6: goes into the computer, Like the computer you spin, you
- 59:47Speaker 6: put in the computer, it's fourth and one, it's ten
- 59:50Speaker 6: to ten, there's eight minutes left. Should I go for
- 59:52Speaker 6: it or should I not go for it?
- 59:54Speaker 2: Yeah, but there are other factors in I just say
- 59:57Speaker 2: that I know what I'm saying. It doesn't it's not.
- 1:00:00Speaker 10: No.
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: All all these analytics do is say what happened in
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: the past it and that's all it does.
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: That's how I understand it. If I'm wrong.
- 1:00:08Speaker 8: If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, and I'm not telling you
- 1:00:10Speaker 8: that i'm right because I do not do the nerd stuff.
- 1:00:13Speaker 8: But I think that the percentages when when the game,
- 1:00:17Speaker 8: when you're watching a game and they put up ESPN says, go,
- 1:00:20Speaker 8: they're not doing that. They're putting in it's a it's
- 1:00:24Speaker 8: a fourth and two. These are the percentages of fourth
- 1:00:27Speaker 8: and two's that have been converted.
- 1:00:28Speaker 6: That's not how that, like our guys, Stretch is not
- 1:00:32Speaker 6: doing it that way that they put into the computer.
- 1:00:36Speaker 6: It's fourth and two, it's ten to ten, there's nine
- 1:00:39Speaker 6: minutes left in the game.
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: Now it doesn't put in that.
- 1:00:42Speaker 6: It's the bills without ed Oliver and without it doesn't
- 1:00:44Speaker 6: have all those factors.
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: And maybe they have a way to do that because
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: it does better. But I'm telling you, I'm just telling
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: you what it does, Okay, and then it doesn't. That's
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: that's it is, word for it. That's how it goes.
- 1:00:57Speaker 16: Well.
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: I have, like I don't have our calculator, and I
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: have a calculator that's public.
- 1:01:02Speaker 6: That that this is the You put the field position,
- 1:01:05Speaker 6: you put the time and score, you put the down
- 1:01:08Speaker 6: and distance, and it spits out whether or not you
- 1:01:10Speaker 6: should go forward or.
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: Not, and you better also be putting in how has
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: our defense been performing this game, so that any other
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: factor that.
- 1:01:18Speaker 6: To me is why the Atriot system works so well
- 1:01:21Speaker 6: or has worked, is because I think Stretching, the guys
- 1:01:25Speaker 6: up top are doing the computers.
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: And that's the point that I stayed with.
- 1:01:29Speaker 8: I feel like Rabel and Stretch have demonstrated a good
- 1:01:32Speaker 8: grasp of game situation.
- 1:01:33Speaker 6: Because I think Rabel is what Fred is saying, and
- 1:01:37Speaker 6: he puts that thought into it. Stretch puts the nerd
- 1:01:40Speaker 6: math into it, and they come in the middle and
- 1:01:42Speaker 6: they say, this is what we're going to do.
- 1:01:44Speaker 8: Now.
- 1:01:44Speaker 6: Most of their decisions do go by the numbers, just
- 1:01:48Speaker 6: in terms of being lockstep with the numbers. But I
- 1:01:51Speaker 6: think the bigger thing in terms of, like, you know,
- 1:01:53Speaker 6: the analytics with all these game situation type of things,
- 1:01:56Speaker 6: it does also account for what is your win percentage
- 1:02:00Speaker 6: if you fail and what is your win percentage if
- 1:02:03Speaker 6: you succeed, And it takes into count the fact that
- 1:02:06Speaker 6: you could fail. Now your win percentage when you fail
- 1:02:11Speaker 6: might be only one percentage point less than if you
- 1:02:15Speaker 6: you know, if you fail if you punt right, So
- 1:02:18Speaker 6: that is why that comes into this as well. Like
- 1:02:20Speaker 6: if we kick a field goal here, we have a
- 1:02:23Speaker 6: seventy six percent chance of winning, but if we fail
- 1:02:26Speaker 6: this fourth down, we have a seventy five percent chance
- 1:02:29Speaker 6: of winning. So for the one percentage point difference, we're
- 1:02:33Speaker 6: gonna go.
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: I just like it when the people making the decisions
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: have either played the game or coach the game.
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: That makes me feel better.
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: But don't you wantry doing it?
- 1:02:44Speaker 7: Like? I think I could have confidence you were doing
- 1:02:46Speaker 7: it like, I mean, I think you're pretty aware of
- 1:02:48Speaker 7: these all.
- 1:02:48Speaker 8: I mean, I I'm sure I would choke like a
- 1:02:50Speaker 8: dog if I was doing it for real, as opposed
- 1:02:53Speaker 8: to making fun of Stark Hanson on Red Zone.
- 1:02:55Speaker 6: I think it's I think it's really cool how the
- 1:02:57Speaker 6: Patriots do it because they have they have them, they
- 1:03:00Speaker 6: have the algorithms, and then they make a decisions and
- 1:03:03Speaker 6: then Vray Bulk is able to have a great feel
- 1:03:05Speaker 6: of like what's the situation, how are we feeling?
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: What's the you know, what's who were we playing? Who's hurt,
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: who's not hurt? What player are we getting to?
- 1:03:15Speaker 8: Right?
- 1:03:15Speaker 6: You know, they kicked the field goal on the goal
- 1:03:18Speaker 6: line in Buffalo before the half, make it six to three.
- 1:03:21Speaker 6: Then they had the same exact situation later on in
- 1:03:23Speaker 6: the season and they went for it on fourth down
- 1:03:25Speaker 6: and scored a touchdown before the half in Tampa Bay.
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: And he's the exact same situation.
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: I guarantee you, and I know it's impossible to prove
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: something that will never happen or hasn't happened. But if
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: for you know, if for the next five years or
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: you know, every team just went strictly by the analytics,
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: in ten years, the analytics would change.
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: Maybe see what I'm saying.
- 1:03:49Speaker 6: I doe, Yeah, but I just want to Yeah, I
- 1:03:51Speaker 6: think that I think that there's a happy median of it,
- 1:03:55Speaker 6: and I think the Patriots have struck that exact middle
- 1:03:57Speaker 6: of where and I think that's why there.
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: To be that way.
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: It's it's just common sense. You have to look at
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: your situation in that particular game. Fine, look at history.
- 1:04:07Speaker 3: But today is today, and Milton Williams just went out
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: and he's gone for the game, and that affects my
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: decision making.
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: That didn't affect the analytics.
- 1:04:18Speaker 8: That's why I like the way Mike in stretch have
- 1:04:21Speaker 8: done it so far. You know, hopefully they'll continue because
- 1:04:23Speaker 8: they do, I think, adjust based on what's actually happening
- 1:04:27Speaker 8: that day as opposed to all of the data that
- 1:04:29Speaker 8: they bring to the game.
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: Yeah I have to go to Vrabel, but I just
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: you don't have to.
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: What's this day?
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: Oh great?
- 1:04:39Speaker 6: Cool, exactly what I wanted to hear. I just think
- 1:04:43Speaker 6: that I wish it's different than like debating like should
- 1:04:46Speaker 6: they have gone?
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: Should they not? Ever?
- 1:04:47Speaker 6: Like the down nine go for two things like you
- 1:04:50Speaker 6: can have your own opinions on that. I just wish
- 1:04:52Speaker 6: there was a better like what I just broke down
- 1:04:56Speaker 6: of how what like what you actually put into the
- 1:04:58Speaker 6: model and what it actually spits out. Like I don't
- 1:05:00Speaker 6: think that there's a great grasp in the actual like
- 1:05:04Speaker 6: national NFL zeitgeist of like how these analytics models work.
- 1:05:09Speaker 6: Because Paul what Paul said, I understand. I think Paul
- 1:05:13Speaker 6: is in the majority that think that it's just in
- 1:05:16Speaker 6: any blanket fourth and two situation, you know what's the
- 1:05:19Speaker 6: mass say, and there's there is more like factors that
- 1:05:23Speaker 6: get plugged into the computer.
- 1:05:24Speaker 8: They're just telling you when they put the numbers up
- 1:05:26Speaker 8: on ESPN. They're not factoring in time and score. They're
- 1:05:30Speaker 8: just saying this is the amount of this is the
- 1:05:31Speaker 8: percentage of making it.
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: I would like to know who like what they're doing then,
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: because the teams, obviously I agree with you.
- 1:05:39Speaker 8: I would just want to hear you, boy Alex, say
- 1:05:41Speaker 8: that they don't do that, because I was always under
- 1:05:43Speaker 8: the impression that they do.
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: Even putting time and scoring isn't enough in my opinion.
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: What else would you like them to put in?
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: I'm sious, like, how has my defense been playing?
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: Well, you can't. How do you quantify that?
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: Like exactly?
- 1:05:55Speaker 8: But I just know, but how my defense is playing
- 1:05:58Speaker 8: this game, I could make an argument to do either
- 1:06:00Speaker 8: one like I just sort of mapped it out. I
- 1:06:03Speaker 8: could make a strong argument to defend Andy reached decision
- 1:06:06Speaker 8: based on how his defense.
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: Was in that particular case, right yeah, okay.
- 1:06:10Speaker 8: But everybody else said the opposite because the way the
- 1:06:12Speaker 8: defense was playing, I punted the ball, right yeah.
- 1:06:14Speaker 6: I just think that I just wish that when we
- 1:06:16Speaker 6: talk about these things there was a little bit more
- 1:06:19Speaker 6: education on the part of the people doing the talking
- 1:06:21Speaker 6: to explain exactly how the teams are using it, because
- 1:06:24Speaker 6: it has such a negative like stigma right now of
- 1:06:29Speaker 6: like anti like of analytics, and yet this is what's driving.
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: Ninety nine point nine percent of the decisions, and.
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: The analytics were created to give nerds a reason to
- 1:06:40Speaker 3: be involved. They grew up cannot be able to be
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: involved in sports, and they've created a way. And I
- 1:06:46Speaker 3: give them credit. They're very creative to be now involved
- 1:06:49Speaker 3: in sports is where they grew up, not having a
- 1:06:53Speaker 3: role in sports.
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: They were one who's the side? I mean, so I
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: would marginalize.
- 1:06:58Speaker 3: I guess now they've become right in the middle, love
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: it because they've creatively figured out a way to become
- 1:07:03Speaker 3: involved in sports.
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: All credit goes to them. Well, we just attack.
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: At the So before you go real quick, Yes, you'd
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: have to start.
- 1:07:15Speaker 8: You'd have to do a lot to convince me that
- 1:07:17Speaker 8: Dan Campbell was punching in time and score in the
- 1:07:20Speaker 8: NFC Championship Game a couple of years ago.
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: With a seventeen point lead. Yeah. I don't know.
- 1:07:26Speaker 6: I I know that their nerds do. I don't know
- 1:07:29Speaker 6: what Dan Campbell goes by. That's Dan Campbell question. But
- 1:07:33Speaker 6: I again, it's not so much about like I just
- 1:07:36Speaker 6: wish that we educated people better on because I'm telling
- 1:07:40Speaker 6: you that all thirty two teams now have a nerd
- 1:07:43Speaker 6: in the coaches booth that's telling them what the math
- 1:07:46Speaker 6: is telling them. So like, this is what's driving the decisions.
- 1:07:50Speaker 6: So instead of doing the Fred and finger wagging at it, like,
- 1:07:54Speaker 6: let's just try to explain.
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: Let's just try to explain it to people.
- 1:07:58Speaker 6: You don't have to agree with it, yeah, but let's
- 1:08:01Speaker 6: at least get the right messaging out there of this
- 1:08:03Speaker 6: is what's going into it.
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: I know what goes into it, so then you can
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: make the decision.
- 1:08:07Speaker 6: So I actually say, and I'm not saying you have
- 1:08:09Speaker 6: to agree, I'm just saying, like, I just don't think
- 1:08:12Speaker 6: that there's a very good education of what actually is happening.
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think.
- 1:08:16Speaker 7: Well, it's the assumption that people are punching numbers in
- 1:08:18Speaker 7: a computer and then whatever it says they're just doing.
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, thank you, all right.
- 1:08:24Speaker 8: And I would say like as a whole, and this
- 1:08:26Speaker 8: is people might be surprised because while I've not done
- 1:08:29Speaker 8: what Fred just did to dismiss the the the uh
- 1:08:33Speaker 8: oh you want you want to do the nerds, I
- 1:08:35Speaker 8: I generally do push back against the nerds a lot.
- 1:08:38Speaker 8: I love that the nerds have at least allowed the
- 1:08:42Speaker 8: coaches to open their minds a little bit and be
- 1:08:44Speaker 8: a little bit more creative when it comes to some
- 1:08:46Speaker 8: of these in game decisions. I think that's a good
- 1:08:48Speaker 8: development for the league. Too often it was, well, it's
- 1:08:51Speaker 8: fourth down, we kick here, whether it be field goal
- 1:08:54Speaker 8: or punt, let's go to Mike Vrabel.
- 1:08:57Speaker 5: Send anything we can. Well, wishes to Kevin and Letitia Falk.
- 1:09:03Speaker 5: Obviously we're all heartbroken. Kevin was a teammate. He's a
- 1:09:07Speaker 5: huge part of this legacy here, this football team, and
- 1:09:12Speaker 5: you know the impact that he made and here and
- 1:09:16Speaker 5: coaching in college, and how much he loved LSU. And
- 1:09:18Speaker 5: I'm sure that they like there's no words to describe
- 1:09:21Speaker 5: what they're going through, but just wanted to make sure
- 1:09:24Speaker 5: that everybody knows that we care deeply about Kevin and
- 1:09:29Speaker 5: his family, and our thoughts and our prayers are with them.
- 1:09:31Speaker 5: So obviously a tough time for that, but we have to,
- 1:09:37Speaker 5: you know, prepare here. I appreciate it.
- 1:09:40Speaker 6: Thank you, given mistakes of the atmosphere, the opponent win
- 1:09:47Speaker 6: or lose. Do you see this game as kind of being.
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: Valuable prep for what might apply.
- 1:09:52Speaker 5: Ahead assuming you get in Puss Well, I hope that
- 1:09:55Speaker 5: everything we do we only get seventeen opportunities, right, so
- 1:09:59Speaker 5: that all of that hap us to be valuable. Prep
- 1:10:04Speaker 5: you know, they all they all count the same at
- 1:10:06Speaker 5: the end. You know, this is a great stage that
- 1:10:10Speaker 5: we put ourselves on and that's exciting. But obviously hopefully
- 1:10:14Speaker 5: we've been able to draw from from different opportunities that
- 1:10:19Speaker 5: we've had too to help us. And so what we're
- 1:10:22Speaker 5: focused on is is the previous opportunities that can help
- 1:10:27Speaker 5: us this week, and then whatever we're able to learn
- 1:10:31Speaker 5: from the game on Sunday going forward to help us
- 1:10:34Speaker 5: the next week. That's what we're trying to do.
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: Like what are some of the challenges of the second
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: meeting in the the vision that you've seen.
- 1:10:39Speaker 5: Over the years, they've they've changed, they've continued to evolve,
- 1:10:45Speaker 5: and you know, they've continued to improve. And again we
- 1:10:50Speaker 5: talked about the respect that that we have for them
- 1:10:53Speaker 5: as a as a football team. Players and coaches. Just
- 1:10:59Speaker 5: draw on some games here in the past. I mean,
- 1:11:02Speaker 5: it's twenty to ten. In our game, they didn't bat
- 1:11:06Speaker 5: an eye. They came back and tied it in the
- 1:11:08Speaker 5: fourth quarter. We were up two scores in the fourth quarter.
- 1:11:11Speaker 5: You know, we needed our best execution and kick to
- 1:11:14Speaker 5: win it. Well, it was the Tampa Bay game, you know,
- 1:11:17Speaker 5: being down and then winning the game going away, Pittsburgh
- 1:11:24Speaker 5: down seven to three and then really just played tremendous
- 1:11:27Speaker 5: football in a second half, and then last week to
- 1:11:31Speaker 5: score a game with eight minutes to go in the
- 1:11:33Speaker 5: fourth quarter. So never any panic over there. That's a
- 1:11:37Speaker 5: veteran team. This is They're familiar with their program. So
- 1:11:41Speaker 5: however the game unfolds, it'll we'll have to do everything
- 1:11:44Speaker 5: that we can to play the entire four quarters or
- 1:11:49Speaker 5: then some if we need to. Mike, I know that
- 1:11:52Speaker 5: Buffalo is chalented all across the board.
- 1:11:54Speaker 17: But in terms of their offense, how important did Josh
- 1:11:57Speaker 17: Allen is the tight end part of that?
- 1:12:00Speaker 5: That's I think that's grown. I think that you know,
- 1:12:03Speaker 5: I mean, you could see when ken Kaid's back out there,
- 1:12:05Speaker 5: the the matchup and his skill set and in the
- 1:12:09Speaker 5: passing game, you know, great speed and athleticism, catch radius,
- 1:12:16Speaker 5: very quarterback friendly. Obviously Dawson does a little bit of both,
- 1:12:23Speaker 5: and the Hawes has just you know, been able to
- 1:12:25Speaker 5: really I would say, not only neutralized, but moved the
- 1:12:32Speaker 5: line of scrimmage on his responsibilities, and I think they
- 1:12:37Speaker 5: just continued to evolve in that regard and using you know,
- 1:12:41Speaker 5: all three of those.
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: Guys, like the people in Las Vegas, have you guys
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: as underdogs?
- 1:12:47Speaker 5: Sunday An?
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: Who are the people?
- 1:12:48Speaker 5: Ben?
- 1:12:50Speaker 10: There?
- 1:12:50Speaker 5: You go are? They're called odds makers, not people. There's
- 1:12:54Speaker 5: a lot of people in Las Vegas like they only
- 1:12:56Speaker 5: there's only a few of them that they trust to
- 1:12:59Speaker 5: set the line.
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: So do you pay attention to that? I mean, do
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: you notice that?
- 1:13:04Speaker 10: M No?
- 1:13:06Speaker 5: I mean again it gets brought to attention. I don't
- 1:13:09Speaker 5: think that, you know. I mean it's every week you see,
- 1:13:15Speaker 5: you know in this league that records really don't mean anything,
- 1:13:18Speaker 5: and you know, the point spreads and survivor polls get
- 1:13:23Speaker 5: blown up every week and all that other stuff. So
- 1:13:27Speaker 5: we're just trying to focus on our preparation here and
- 1:13:29Speaker 5: get back into it. You know, had a good day Monday,
- 1:13:34Speaker 5: excited about the meetings thus far today and then you know,
- 1:13:38Speaker 5: progressed through the week, been out for the last couple
- 1:13:42Speaker 5: of games.
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: What have you seen the proper Jonsters?
- 1:13:44Speaker 10: Because some good guys like Quarter and Eric.
- 1:13:47Speaker 5: Yeah, and I think Corey's continue to improve and play
- 1:13:50Speaker 5: a lot of football for us and Eric's you know,
- 1:13:53Speaker 5: taking the opportunities on Thursdays that we've had and those
- 1:13:56Speaker 5: competitive practices to get better and to get better, and
- 1:14:01Speaker 5: you know, again we'll need everybody up front. You know
- 1:14:04Speaker 5: how important the ability to stop the run is this week,
- 1:14:08Speaker 5: and you know that's just a large part of what
- 1:14:11Speaker 5: they do. They have a lot of confidence in it.
- 1:14:13Speaker 5: Not the only thing that they do. They do a
- 1:14:15Speaker 5: lot of things well, but you know, certainly they're gonna
- 1:14:18Speaker 5: run it until you stop them, and then they're gonna
- 1:14:21Speaker 5: have everything off of it.
- 1:14:23Speaker 12: Josh Allen's long touchdown around last week, so it was
- 1:14:27Speaker 12: a defensive back who was still covering a wide receiver.
- 1:14:30Speaker 12: Is Josh Allen's running into the end zone And I'm
- 1:14:33Speaker 12: just thinking on that's the perfect example why you don't
- 1:14:35Speaker 12: want to play man against Alan.
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: Does he remove things that you can do defensively because of.
- 1:14:40Speaker 5: His worth killing Well, you just have to Again, I
- 1:14:43Speaker 5: don't think you can sit in any one thing. And
- 1:14:47Speaker 5: certainly there's situations where you have to play man in
- 1:14:49Speaker 5: this league and you have to be on body. But
- 1:14:54Speaker 5: then again there's other things that then have to account
- 1:14:56Speaker 5: when you have an athletic quarterback you're gonna account for
- 1:15:00Speaker 5: the extra gap or the ability to scramble, uh to
- 1:15:04Speaker 5: extend plays and all those different things. So I don't
- 1:15:08Speaker 5: think that there's one particular coverage or defense or blitz
- 1:15:11Speaker 5: that you can sit there and be in the entire game.
- 1:15:14Speaker 5: I think it's about picking the opportunities and then you know,
- 1:15:18Speaker 5: when you get an opportunity to make a play on him,
- 1:15:22Speaker 5: you got to do everything that you can to you know,
- 1:15:24Speaker 5: to get him on the ground and not jump when
- 1:15:26Speaker 5: he pumped fakes or fall down when he's steph arms
- 1:15:29Speaker 5: you or anything else.
- 1:15:31Speaker 20: Five when you were you held kamstupt on your fifty
- 1:15:34Speaker 20: rushing yards.
- 1:15:35Speaker 6: I'm just curious when you look back at that film,
- 1:15:37Speaker 6: what allowed defense to be so effective in limiting that
- 1:15:41Speaker 6: run game?
- 1:15:43Speaker 5: Well, I mean, I think the way that we got
- 1:15:45Speaker 5: you know, we were able to get a lead there
- 1:15:46Speaker 5: and probably limited some of the carries in the second half,
- 1:15:50Speaker 5: and that the way that the game unfolded. But you know,
- 1:15:53Speaker 5: I think early on in the ability for our offense
- 1:15:56Speaker 5: to you possess the ball, you know, we'll have to
- 1:16:01Speaker 5: do everything we did in that game and then some
- 1:16:03Speaker 5: to you know, try to neutralize him in the run game.
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: I'll enjoyable has been to coach Mac Hollins this season
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: and what's he.
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: Meant to his team?
- 1:16:12Speaker 5: Mat brings a great spirit, you know, to work every day.
- 1:16:16Speaker 5: It's a great teammate. You know. I actually showed a clip,
- 1:16:20Speaker 5: you know, from the first game on a kickoff coverage
- 1:16:22Speaker 5: and maxed over there, excited and not going in the game,
- 1:16:26Speaker 5: but he's into it. Somebody made a tackle and Max
- 1:16:31Speaker 5: the first one cheering on the sidelines. And those are
- 1:16:34Speaker 5: the little things that that mean a lot, I think
- 1:16:36Speaker 5: to me. So again, we we asked him to do
- 1:16:40Speaker 5: a lot of different things, and you know, again, I
- 1:16:42Speaker 5: think just the spirit that he brings to work and
- 1:16:45Speaker 5: the teammate that he is.
- 1:16:47Speaker 4: Believe the Bills us fought me in protection to one
- 1:16:49Speaker 4: of the highest rates in the league.
- 1:16:50Speaker 5: What allows him to live in that world?
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: And also how do you weigh the balance between wanted.
- 1:16:54Speaker 5: To play coverage and rushing against that kind of stame.
- 1:16:58Speaker 5: I mean, I think when a quarterback and again you
- 1:17:01Speaker 5: bring six and they block five quarterbacks got the sixth one,
- 1:17:05Speaker 5: so he pump fakes him or spins or stiff arms him.
- 1:17:13Speaker 5: You know, I think Josh just has a good ability
- 1:17:16Speaker 5: to know when he's hot or no, you know where
- 1:17:21Speaker 5: he needs to go with football, and and you know,
- 1:17:24Speaker 5: even if it's a four man rush, I don't think
- 1:17:26Speaker 5: he ever really panics and he's able to extend or
- 1:17:31Speaker 5: just find where he wants to go with football and
- 1:17:34Speaker 5: when they do get five out and so. And then
- 1:17:39Speaker 5: the other question was what did you ask me about
- 1:17:43Speaker 5: when do we need to pressure and when we decide
- 1:17:45Speaker 5: to just again we have to mix it up. I
- 1:17:50Speaker 5: think you just have to, huh, you know, pick and
- 1:17:56Speaker 5: choose your spots. And again, you wanna be sound and
- 1:17:58Speaker 5: everything that you do, you know, you don't want to
- 1:18:01Speaker 5: just leave it up to chance and hope that he's
- 1:18:03Speaker 5: not gonna find somebody. You want to make sure that
- 1:18:05Speaker 5: everybody's covered or that zones are accounted for and that
- 1:18:09Speaker 5: you know, the rush lanes are sound and that you
- 1:18:12Speaker 5: have an ability to you know, defend and you can't
- 1:18:17Speaker 5: be cautious, but you have to, you know, be sound.
- 1:18:20Speaker 5: I think like all your.
- 1:18:21Speaker 10: Time in the league, what common allies have you seen,
- 1:18:24Speaker 10: the rivalries you've participated in, do you see any of
- 1:18:27Speaker 10: those elements possibly here with Bubbalo?
- 1:18:31Speaker 5: M I just got here. So I mean again, I
- 1:18:34Speaker 5: know that they've won the division five years in a row.
- 1:18:37Speaker 5: I don't think there's really much of a rivalry for
- 1:18:40Speaker 5: those years. Maybe not. I don't know. I wasn't paying
- 1:18:43Speaker 5: any attention to it. I'm just focused on a very
- 1:18:46Speaker 5: good football team that you know is used to winning,
- 1:18:51Speaker 5: and they're determined and they're resilient, and you know we'll
- 1:18:56Speaker 5: have to be at our best.
- 1:18:57Speaker 10: So mentioned sound rush lanes you're blitzing or not? And
- 1:19:01Speaker 10: how important is it this week against Allen to try to.
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: Keep him in the pocket.
- 1:19:07Speaker 5: Well, you keep me in the pocket, and he's just
- 1:19:08Speaker 5: gonna stand there and wait for somebody to uncover. So
- 1:19:12Speaker 5: you know, I mean again that's there. I mean you
- 1:19:14Speaker 5: can keep me in the pocket. You can stand there
- 1:19:16Speaker 5: and we can we can all just stand there and
- 1:19:18Speaker 5: he'll do you know, he'll do this, And I mean
- 1:19:22Speaker 5: you have to just again, coordinated and relentless is probably
- 1:19:27Speaker 5: the best way to to phrase it. And because again
- 1:19:33Speaker 5: you say we'll keep me in the pocket, and then
- 1:19:34Speaker 5: guys are just standing there and they're cautious, and we
- 1:19:37Speaker 5: don't want to we want to coach that way. We
- 1:19:39Speaker 5: want to make sure that we're trying to remain aggressive.
- 1:19:44Speaker 5: But certainly sound and you know when he does extend,
- 1:19:49Speaker 5: then we're gonna need a plaster and you know, have guys,
- 1:19:52Speaker 5: you know, be able to to come up and help us.
- 1:19:55Speaker 8: Like, how do you feel about the offense's ability to
- 1:19:58Speaker 8: improve some of the short yard and red zone and
- 1:20:01Speaker 8: issues that have acrop the last few weeks?
- 1:20:05Speaker 5: Feel good? Feel good like I do about everything that
- 1:20:07Speaker 5: we're trying to coach and improve. And you know, there's
- 1:20:10Speaker 5: things that we've done really well, there's things that we've
- 1:20:12Speaker 5: done okay. So again, whatever situation it is that comes up,
- 1:20:18Speaker 5: will have to be prepared for it and be able
- 1:20:23Speaker 5: to extend drives no matter what the down and distance is.
- 1:20:27Speaker 5: And I think most importantly, you know, have a understanding
- 1:20:33Speaker 5: of how critical the red zone is when you get
- 1:20:36Speaker 5: down there, and that everything that we've been preaching and
- 1:20:40Speaker 5: talking about will have to continue to execute and make
- 1:20:44Speaker 5: sure that we're doing everything we can to get touchdowns
- 1:20:48Speaker 5: and the difference that that makes and close ball games
- 1:20:52Speaker 5: and force them to kick field goals. The same thing
- 1:20:55Speaker 5: can be said defensively. So I think we were both
- 1:20:59Speaker 5: too for or last game. And you know again that
- 1:21:03Speaker 5: in a close game, that's about what it turned out
- 1:21:06Speaker 5: to be we made a kick at the end, and
- 1:21:08Speaker 5: so if we can try to get him the kickfield
- 1:21:10Speaker 5: goals or attemp field goals, and we'll have to try
- 1:21:13Speaker 5: to do everything we can to score touchdowns.
- 1:21:15Speaker 10: Joe Brady the way he calls the game, obviously they're
- 1:21:17Speaker 10: confident of the run game. And Josh, do you see
- 1:21:19Speaker 10: them as more of a game plan week tweak offense
- 1:21:21Speaker 10: or kind of do.
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: What we do operation?
- 1:21:25Speaker 5: I mean, I think there's elements of both. I think
- 1:21:27Speaker 5: that they have their stuff that's staple that they dress
- 1:21:29Speaker 5: up a little bit, and they have this sometimes some
- 1:21:32Speaker 5: game plan plays that that show up. You know that
- 1:21:36Speaker 5: they find great ways to disguise and give it a
- 1:21:40Speaker 5: different presentation. Thank you.

- 1:26:05Speaker 2: Yeah, that's that's the that's how that's the difference hour.
- 1:26:09Speaker 22: You are correct, Mike, How to most of us. Is
- 1:26:12Speaker 22: it our house or our house? Our house in the
- 1:26:16Speaker 22: middle of the street. Eric, you you know what a
- 1:26:19Speaker 22: dictionary is.
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: You just look it up.
- 1:26:21Speaker 7: You just completely butchered the name of a town in
- 1:26:24Speaker 7: Massachusetts on a call earlier this morning.
- 1:26:26Speaker 2: Syllable you should easily know. Look it up, Eric, Gloucester.
- 1:26:29Speaker 22: Don't take my I live in Gloucester, mad Eric, don't
- 1:26:33Speaker 22: take my word for Gloucester.
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: Eric, do not take my word for it.
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: I don't look.
- 1:26:38Speaker 2: I don't make your word for anything. Look it up.
- 1:26:40Speaker 2: How many syllables does oh you are?
- 1:26:41Speaker 5: Have?
- 1:26:42Speaker 2: Look it up.
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: I don't have a dictionary in front of me.
- 1:26:45Speaker 2: Have one upstairs. Don't print it out. We have this
- 1:26:48Speaker 2: thing called the internet, you know. Look it up. Don't
- 1:26:50Speaker 2: take my word for it.
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: Matt, go ahead, look it up. How many syllables in
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: the word oh you are? And what are you saying? One?

- 1:27:30Speaker 2: How many audibles our? Hour? He just said one?
- 1:27:34Speaker 1: Well, I just I'm just playing.
- 1:27:35Speaker 2: Am not listening to the position. Let me see that hour,

- 1:27:52Speaker 2: It's one.
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: I don't know how many syllables it is. It's pronounced our.
- 1:27:56Speaker 2: Yeah, hour, it is not our.

- 1:28:51Speaker 2: It's kind of hard to wrap a couch.
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: Though, you know, Yeah, got a big, big TV for
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: my parents.
- 1:28:58Speaker 8: Yeah that were you know, all the kids are giving
- 1:29:00Speaker 8: them and having a hard time wrapping that right now.
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it's big big.
- 1:29:06Speaker 8: I think Beth is going to try to get one
- 1:29:07Speaker 8: of those bags. So this is what you do it
- 1:29:09Speaker 8: in and you're like, almost like a sack.
- 1:29:11Speaker 2: This is what you do. This is how you do it.
- 1:29:12Speaker 5: How do you do it?
- 1:29:14Speaker 3: They open up a car and it says, go into
- 1:29:18Speaker 3: the other room to see what this is. So that
- 1:29:21Speaker 3: way you don't have to worry about it sitting there.
- 1:29:23Speaker 3: It's like, wha, that's a TV. You put it in enough,
- 1:29:26Speaker 3: you hide it somewhere in the house and then they
- 1:29:28Speaker 3: have to go get it and then they see it.
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: Oh, so don't wrap it. You don't have to wrap it, right, Yeah.
- 1:29:32Speaker 1: I think we'll probably wrap it, okay.
- 1:29:34Speaker 8: I think that Beth is very anti Christmas gifts that
- 1:29:37Speaker 8: aren't wrapped, Like even like stocking stuffers need to be right.
- 1:29:41Speaker 3: Well, I guess you can still wrap it, but you
- 1:29:42Speaker 3: put it in the other room, so it's not evident
- 1:29:44Speaker 3: it's not sitting out there that Oh this is a TV.
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I don't know. It could be a
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: lot of things. Okay, it does look like a TV,
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: though I would agree it's kind of hard to say.
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: You ever, I don't think that's a TV.
- 1:29:54Speaker 2: You ever listen to Sebastian Menaschoolo in a medium.
- 1:29:58Speaker 3: Yes, he's got a funny bit where his father because
- 1:30:01Speaker 3: everything his father looks at.
- 1:30:02Speaker 2: How much you pay for that? And he goes, yes,
- 1:30:05Speaker 2: you pick what I could have made that. You can
- 1:30:07Speaker 2: make a seventy five inch TV.
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: You could have made it for a buck.
- 1:30:10Speaker 2: You could make a seventy five inch TV.
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: I love some of those. Those bits are great.
- 1:30:15Speaker 2: Oh yeah, all right, eight five five pass five hundred.
- 1:30:18Speaker 3: Evan has gone because you know, he needs to go
- 1:30:21Speaker 3: talk to the players and deuces out there because he
- 1:30:23Speaker 3: needs to talk to the players.
- 1:30:24Speaker 2: But they'll be back, right, Oh No, Evan won't be.
- 1:30:27Speaker 8: Yeah, Mike will be and Evan. I'm not sure Evan's
- 1:30:30Speaker 8: coming back tomorrow. You little mean to him before the break?
- 1:30:33Speaker 3: Oh yeah, you think I heard him in two. I
- 1:30:35Speaker 3: think I heard him with the analytics don't shine.
- 1:30:38Speaker 8: I think you hurt his feelings with the analytics. Don't shine.
- 1:30:42Speaker 2: He's gonna analytics ass right now.
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:30:45Speaker 8: I mean, like I said, I do think there the
- 1:30:51Speaker 8: the infusion of the nerds. I think overall has been
- 1:30:54Speaker 8: a very good thing for the NFL because I think
- 1:30:56Speaker 8: it has allowed coaches to show more creativity and not
- 1:30:59Speaker 8: just do what they've always done for decades. I do
- 1:31:03Speaker 8: think there needs to be a balance. I think the
- 1:31:05Speaker 8: best coaches have demonstrated the ability to adapt and change
- 1:31:10Speaker 8: based on what's going on. And like I said, I
- 1:31:13Speaker 8: think that's one thing that I would give Mike Rabel
- 1:31:18Speaker 8: and edge in is if the game unfolds in a
- 1:31:20Speaker 8: certain way. I don't think we're going to be necessarily
- 1:31:23Speaker 8: critiquing his decisions. I haven't agreed with every one of
- 1:31:25Speaker 8: them that he's made this year.
- 1:31:26Speaker 5: Yep.
- 1:31:27Speaker 8: I'm not telling you that everything that they've done the
- 1:31:29Speaker 8: Patriots have done well.
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: I agree with that.
- 1:31:31Speaker 8: The one that they went for from their own like
- 1:31:34Speaker 8: fifteen yard line early in the year, I think it
- 1:31:36Speaker 8: was Pittsburgh.
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: They ended up getting it. I thought that was insane.
- 1:31:40Speaker 1: But for the most part.
- 1:31:41Speaker 8: I think his ability to adapt, based on the way
- 1:31:44Speaker 8: the game is unfolding, I think has been insane. Well
- 1:31:48Speaker 8: it's been different, you know what I mean. It's not
- 1:31:50Speaker 8: just that it's not like, well, I'm going for it
- 1:31:52Speaker 8: every time because the book tells me to go for it.
- 1:31:54Speaker 8: He's shown the ability to adapt.
- 1:31:57Speaker 3: He's a reasonable and common sense person. In other words,
- 1:32:01Speaker 3: Jeffrey and Canada writes in first Off, great to hear
- 1:32:04Speaker 3: all the fellow Canadians chiming in. Today must be a
- 1:32:07Speaker 3: day off up in canon.
- 1:32:08Speaker 8: We did get a lot of Canadian phone calls today.
- 1:32:10Speaker 2: Y's weird.
- 1:32:11Speaker 3: The Patriots do have a large following Canada, especially on
- 1:32:14Speaker 3: the East coast. Bills are a Toronto team. I believe
- 1:32:18Speaker 3: a third of their season tickets are owned by Canadians. However,
- 1:32:22Speaker 3: I must defend Jordan who called Evan did say shootout
- 1:32:26Speaker 3: was how we'd win, And maybe he misspoke, but he
- 1:32:29Speaker 3: said he's not worried about the Texans or Broncos because
- 1:32:32Speaker 3: they have weaker offenses, which I'm not saying he's wrong,
- 1:32:35Speaker 3: but the caller was correct.
- 1:32:37Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:32:37Speaker 8: I don't remember what Evans said in terms of shootout
- 1:32:40Speaker 8: or if he did or didn't say it. I think
- 1:32:42Speaker 8: what Evan's point was, and he can speak for himself tomorrow.
- 1:32:45Speaker 8: If you said he may not come back anymore, that's true.
- 1:32:48Speaker 8: But I think his point is he doesn't see anybody
- 1:32:53Speaker 8: being able to completely shut down Drake May, so they'll
- 1:32:56Speaker 8: be able to score enough points. In the case of
- 1:32:58Speaker 8: Denver and Houston, these are the two teams that have
- 1:33:01Speaker 8: particularly rankled his feathers. I think, yeah, he doesn't feel
- 1:33:04Speaker 8: that they have the offenses to keep up with the Patriots.
- 1:33:07Speaker 8: That doesn't necessarily mean you have to win thirty eight
- 1:33:09Speaker 8: thirty five. Yeah, Like in other words, he thinks, if
- 1:33:12Speaker 8: I can get to twenty four against those teams, I'm
- 1:33:14Speaker 8: gonna win because the other team can't get there. I
- 1:33:17Speaker 8: think that's Evans point. It might be semantic argument, which
- 1:33:21Speaker 8: is the basis of oh so many of our arguments
- 1:33:24Speaker 8: here on Patriots Unfiltered.
- 1:33:25Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, back to the phones. Marty is in
- 1:33:29Speaker 3: the Pacific Northwest. Hey, Marty, Marty, Maty maighty. Oh, we
- 1:33:37Speaker 3: didn't talk about Mike Vrabel any anything come out of
- 1:33:40Speaker 3: that of interest?
- 1:33:42Speaker 2: Do you think?
- 1:33:42Speaker 3: No?
- 1:33:42Speaker 8: We should mention though, and he opened up his press conference.
- 1:33:46Speaker 8: It's a tragedy with Kevin Falk lost his second daughter, Yeah,
- 1:33:51Speaker 8: thirty year old daughter. I don't really know any of
- 1:33:55Speaker 8: the details other than she passed away.
- 1:33:57Speaker 2: He was in the hospital.
- 1:34:00Speaker 8: Mike did open that up and talked about, you know,
- 1:34:03Speaker 8: just that's how that's Yeah, that's an unspeakable tragedy. But yeah,
- 1:34:10Speaker 8: I mean I thought a lot of you know, a
- 1:34:13Speaker 8: lot of respect obviously from Vrabel for Buffalo and for
- 1:34:16Speaker 8: Josh Allen in particular. That's where it mostly centatored on,
- 1:34:21Speaker 8: you know, But you know, like the whole thing about
- 1:34:23Speaker 8: how to attack him, I think Mike is right. There's
- 1:34:27Speaker 8: no you can't attack him one way, Like if you
- 1:34:30Speaker 8: want to try to be passive in the past rush
- 1:34:32Speaker 8: and keep him in the pocket, He's just going to
- 1:34:33Speaker 8: stand back there in direct traffic.
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: If you want to go after.
- 1:34:36Speaker 8: Him, then you better get him, right So, you know,
- 1:34:39Speaker 8: I think Taylor Kyle's asked him about Buffalo's propensity to
- 1:34:42Speaker 8: only keep five in and protection, you know, and Mike said, yeah,
- 1:34:46Speaker 8: you can send six if they're only going to block five,
- 1:34:48Speaker 8: but you better have that six guy. Better get him, yep,
- 1:34:51Speaker 8: otherwise you're in trouble. So I think Tom Curran asked
- 1:34:55Speaker 8: him about the long touchdown run that Allen had in
- 1:34:57Speaker 8: the Cincinnati game. Is that why you can't play man?
- 1:35:00Speaker 8: He said, well, if you only do one thing, you know,
- 1:35:02Speaker 8: that's that's not the right way to do it either.
- 1:35:04Speaker 8: And we did look it up, but Mike was still here.
- 1:35:07Speaker 8: That was one of their higher.
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: Man games.
- 1:35:10Speaker 8: That was the first time against Buffalo, and I think
- 1:35:13Speaker 8: that speaks to the lack of explosiveness in the Bill's
- 1:35:18Speaker 8: receiving cores. I think they feel like they can shut
- 1:35:21Speaker 8: down these guys with man coverage, so I think that's
- 1:35:25Speaker 8: the way he goes about it. But yeah, you know,
- 1:35:27Speaker 8: Allen's ability to run in those situations obviously is a concern.
- 1:35:31Speaker 5: Yep.
- 1:35:33Speaker 3: If Sean is in Boston, I hope I'm pronouncing your
- 1:35:35Speaker 3: name correctly as Sean.
- 1:35:38Speaker 14: Yep, you're pronouncing it correct. Hey, guys, I'm a first
- 1:35:41Speaker 14: time caller, a long time listener.
- 1:35:43Speaker 5: Nice.
- 1:35:43Speaker 14: Well, I think you guys might have talked about this earlier,
- 1:35:46Speaker 14: with the idea of like whether we can compete in
- 1:35:48Speaker 14: a shootout. I just didn't catch it. My question was
- 1:35:51Speaker 14: about I know we've talked a lot about we're not
- 1:35:55Speaker 14: sure if this offense can keep up in I guess,
- 1:35:58Speaker 14: like a shootout like game. But Mike question was, is
- 1:36:01Speaker 14: there not concern about seeing this Patriots team win in
- 1:36:06Speaker 14: a comeback fashion? And I'm talking about like down fourteen
- 1:36:09Speaker 14: to seventeen points at half, because I think it's much
- 1:36:13Speaker 14: easier for a defense to let up a lot of points.
- 1:36:16Speaker 14: But if the quarterback is kind of like the engine
- 1:36:18Speaker 14: of the team, you could have Drake maygo off for
- 1:36:21Speaker 14: four touchdowns and keep you in the game in the shootouts,
- 1:36:23Speaker 14: but I think it becomes a lot more difficult when
- 1:36:27Speaker 14: the offense is struggling for the defense to hold up
- 1:36:30Speaker 14: its end of the bargain, because I think that the
- 1:36:32Speaker 14: energy across the team might be a bit lower when
- 1:36:35Speaker 14: the offense is struggling. So I'm just wondering on your guys'
- 1:36:37Speaker 14: opinion on the importance of seeing a major comeback game
- 1:36:42Speaker 14: before we hit the playoffs as opposed to something like
- 1:36:44Speaker 14: a shootout where we know our offense can score a
- 1:36:46Speaker 14: lot of points.
- 1:36:47Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, you know, but I hear what you're saying.
- 1:36:50Speaker 3: It's so hard to manufacture those things.
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: Well, and I understand this question totally.
- 1:36:55Speaker 8: I just think that I don't ever want to be
- 1:36:58Speaker 8: down seventeen, right, and forget about manufacturing something. I don't
- 1:37:02Speaker 8: think if you come back from down seventeen in the
- 1:37:04Speaker 8: regular season, I still that doesn't mean it doesn't make
- 1:37:07Speaker 8: me any more confident in the playoffs if I'm down seventeen.
- 1:37:11Speaker 8: Now I understand what his point is, like, the players
- 1:37:14Speaker 8: will know what we've been here before.
- 1:37:16Speaker 2: We can do this.
- 1:37:17Speaker 1: I get it.
- 1:37:18Speaker 8: It's not gonna make it's not gonna make the situation
- 1:37:20Speaker 8: any less dire.
- 1:37:21Speaker 3: And we're impatient, you know, because, like you said it
- 1:37:24Speaker 3: right there, we've been there before. In order to have
- 1:37:27Speaker 3: been there before, you kind of need time to experience
- 1:37:31Speaker 3: all those different scenarios. Really, we're only talking one season
- 1:37:35Speaker 3: so far. Last forget about last season. I mean right,
- 1:37:37Speaker 3: I wipe that from my memory. So there's only so
- 1:37:40Speaker 3: many games in which to experience different scenarios. We haven't
- 1:37:43Speaker 3: seen everything yet, and it's gonna take time before this
- 1:37:47Speaker 3: version of the Patriots sees all those conditions.
- 1:37:50Speaker 8: So I totally get it. They haven't really had to
- 1:37:52Speaker 8: come back. And you know what you're talking about is,
- 1:37:56Speaker 8: you know, multi score of deficits late in the game.
- 1:38:00Speaker 8: That's desperation time. I don't care how many times that.
- 1:38:04Speaker 5: You you do it.
- 1:38:04Speaker 2: When was the first time Brady experienced that in his career?
- 1:38:07Speaker 8: Oh, like his first home was a second home winning Chargers.
- 1:38:11Speaker 8: Yeah right right, yeah, down ten with like three minutes left.
- 1:38:15Speaker 2: It was that San Diego.
- 1:38:16Speaker 8: Yeah, they ended up winning in overtime.
- 1:38:18Speaker 2: I remember.
- 1:38:20Speaker 8: So yeah, I mean I get it, you know, Like,
- 1:38:24Speaker 8: here's the most glaring example, coming back from twenty eight
- 1:38:27Speaker 8: to three in the Super Bowl. I don't know if
- 1:38:32Speaker 8: you felt better about it because, well, the Patriots have
- 1:38:34Speaker 8: done this before.
- 1:38:35Speaker 1: I didn't.
- 1:38:36Speaker 3: I well, they never did that before. Well, the Denver
- 1:38:40Speaker 3: game they were down twenty four to nothing or something.
- 1:38:42Speaker 8: Like that, twenty four to nothing. Yeah, but like I don't,
- 1:38:46Speaker 8: like Tom Brady had established his ability to come from behind, right,
- 1:38:51Speaker 8: And I think there was a belief in Brady. And
- 1:38:53Speaker 8: I think you heard you've heard anecdotes from defensive players
- 1:38:56Speaker 8: in the sidelin No, no, no, we got Brady from
- 1:38:58Speaker 8: the other team to the other right. Mohamed Sanu I
- 1:39:01Speaker 8: think said it. Yeah, but that's not a situation that
- 1:39:05Speaker 8: you want to find yourself in in the playoffs. Like
- 1:39:08Speaker 8: there's nobody that would say, like it's okay because we've
- 1:39:11Speaker 8: been the here before. Right now, everything's got to be perfect.
- 1:39:15Speaker 2: But you know, like if your team's that good, you
- 1:39:17Speaker 2: don't have that situation, So like, which do you.
- 1:39:19Speaker 1: Are the other team?
- 1:39:20Speaker 5: Is that bad?
- 1:39:21Speaker 3: They're not good enough to get that kind of a
- 1:39:23Speaker 3: lead on right, So which that's the Yeah, it's true.
- 1:39:26Speaker 3: We haven't really experienced that yet, so we don't know.
- 1:39:29Speaker 2: But you know, it is what it is.
- 1:39:33Speaker 3: There'll be a first time for everything, hopefully because this
- 1:39:37Speaker 3: is going to last for a while with this head
- 1:39:38Speaker 3: coach in this quarterback Sean's and Vancouver.
- 1:39:42Speaker 2: What's up Sean, Sean?
- 1:39:44Speaker 13: I really hope that song is going to play this week,
- 1:39:48Speaker 13: not amongst the PU crew but general NFL chatter. He's
- 1:39:51Speaker 13: been a real unsugg hero and it's going to help
- 1:39:54Speaker 13: on the defensive line, but also in short yardage and
- 1:39:57Speaker 13: running the ball because his blocking is than anything close
- 1:40:01Speaker 13: to real fullback. So that's someone now the Patriots Kapillion
- 1:40:05Speaker 13: used all this lady on.
- 1:40:06Speaker 8: That Okay, Yeah, I think I think his his his
- 1:40:10Speaker 8: return would be a welcome one to handle James Cook.
- 1:40:13Speaker 8: I'm less concerned about the handful of snaps that he
- 1:40:16Speaker 8: get as a full back. I don't dismiss it. I
- 1:40:18Speaker 8: think you know he did it, does it? You know
- 1:40:19Speaker 8: he does a fairly good job in that regard. But
- 1:40:22Speaker 8: the run defense has been sagging, and I think part
- 1:40:24Speaker 8: of it is everybody talks about Milton Williams, but I
- 1:40:27Speaker 8: think you know Tong has been part of that too.
- 1:40:30Speaker 8: So yeah, you know, to have those guys back as
- 1:40:32Speaker 8: many of those guys back, Yeah, yep, the more the merrier.
- 1:40:36Speaker 3: Let's see Bruno Wright saying subject line, how to enhance
- 1:40:40Speaker 3: analytics with how my defense is doing.
- 1:40:43Speaker 2: It's pretty easy.
- 1:40:44Speaker 3: Besides scoreclocking down a distance, you factor an EPA and
- 1:40:48Speaker 3: success rate for both teams into the equation. That should
- 1:40:51Speaker 3: be pretty straightforward. You only need to figure out the
- 1:40:54Speaker 3: coefficients for each metric. A more advanced version could also
- 1:40:58Speaker 3: take into account season advanced for the teams as well
- 1:41:01Speaker 3: as players individually, so you can factor in key injuries
- 1:41:04Speaker 3: as well.
- 1:41:05Speaker 2: But at this point you might be needing.
- 1:41:07Speaker 3: The Guys Coding Chat GPT to join the NFL analytics team.
- 1:41:11Speaker 3: But in any case, it's only just odds, and the
- 1:41:13Speaker 3: fun part of sports is that on any given Sunday
- 1:41:16Speaker 3: you can beat them.
- 1:41:17Speaker 8: I want to do less odds, like I want to
- 1:41:20Speaker 8: like I think like I said, I think that that's
- 1:41:22Speaker 8: been a welcome change, that teams are more willing to
- 1:41:25Speaker 8: take some of that into consideration. But I don't want
- 1:41:27Speaker 8: to do it based on strictly based on numbers. I
- 1:41:30Speaker 8: don't want to add more numbers, especially EPA like expected
- 1:41:35Speaker 8: stuff that's not real. I don't want to necessarily add
- 1:41:39Speaker 8: more numbers into my thought process. Yep, you understand what
- 1:41:44Speaker 8: I'm saying. Yeah, but I do think like I will.
- 1:41:48Speaker 8: I know people probably don't believe me, but I do
- 1:41:50Speaker 8: like the fact that teams go for it on fullth
- 1:41:52Speaker 8: down far more, far more frequently, and I think that's
- 1:41:55Speaker 8: been a good development for the league.
- 1:41:57Speaker 3: Matt from Saskatchewan says, I meant to send this into
- 1:42:00Speaker 3: Catch twenty two, and as I assume Barth probably knows
- 1:42:03Speaker 3: this information off the top of his head, I was
- 1:42:05Speaker 3: wondering how everyone feels about Drake May in the clutch,
- 1:42:09Speaker 3: as we haven't really seen it outside the Buffalo game
- 1:42:12Speaker 3: in Week four. I vaguely remember during the draft cycle
- 1:42:15Speaker 3: that he did not have a great record and come
- 1:42:17Speaker 3: from behind games in college, and I was wondering if
- 1:42:21Speaker 3: you have any concerns about his ability to do so
- 1:42:23Speaker 3: as we approach the playoffs will inevitably have to come
- 1:42:26Speaker 3: from behind to win against better teams. So in the
- 1:42:29Speaker 3: clutch a little bit different than come from behind, you know,
- 1:42:32Speaker 3: seventeen points, just got.
- 1:42:34Speaker 5: To have it.
- 1:42:35Speaker 8: Yeah, and he hasn't really had any of those. Yeah,
- 1:42:37Speaker 8: even the one that we're talking about was a tie game. Yep,
- 1:42:40Speaker 8: so he didn't have to do it right. No, I
- 1:42:44Speaker 8: don't have concerns only because I would be concerned if
- 1:42:47Speaker 8: I had seen him fail in those situations, you know,
- 1:42:51Speaker 8: like last year, I'm with you, I completely throw away
- 1:42:54Speaker 8: last year. Yeah, this year, with this team and this
- 1:42:58Speaker 8: personnel around him, they haven't. They haven't failed in those situations.
- 1:43:01Speaker 8: But and you know the other thing about that is,
- 1:43:04Speaker 8: I guess that's not really true. They were down, they
- 1:43:06Speaker 8: were down a touchdown against Pittsburgh and he fumbled, So I, yes,
- 1:43:09Speaker 8: that's but that's one and it's.
- 1:43:12Speaker 3: Not one hundred percent fair to just say, how is
- 1:43:14Speaker 3: Drake May in the clutch? How is your team in
- 1:43:16Speaker 3: the clutch? Because even during the Brady years, when you know,
- 1:43:19Speaker 3: you had those times where you had to convert third
- 1:43:22Speaker 3: down after third down and critical games, you know, in
- 1:43:25Speaker 3: the fourth quarter, it was great plays by Gronk, great
- 1:43:29Speaker 3: plays by Edelman, a stupid play by the other team,
- 1:43:32Speaker 3: you know, all those things.
- 1:43:33Speaker 2: You know, so you got to look at your team too.
- 1:43:36Speaker 3: How is the pet how other guys been in the clutch?
- 1:43:40Speaker 3: Do they have mental you know, brain farts and you know,
- 1:43:45Speaker 3: have off size.
- 1:43:46Speaker 8: You know.
- 1:43:46Speaker 1: So it's there's so much that it's about the quarterback though.
- 1:43:49Speaker 1: I mean, let's face it, well it is, you know
- 1:43:52Speaker 1: he he can't screw up either.
- 1:43:53Speaker 3: But is it a team like that has a propensity
- 1:43:57Speaker 3: to do a stupid play like they did the last
- 1:44:01Speaker 3: four years? You know, I don't think so. I think
- 1:44:05Speaker 3: fundamentally they're more sound. Santo is by the way, he's
- 1:44:10Speaker 3: a PhD. So you got to listen to what he's saying.
- 1:44:12Speaker 3: Good for you, I says. In terms of Evan being
- 1:44:15Speaker 3: an advanced scout, he says, I agree, Evan could fit
- 1:44:18Speaker 3: in as an advanced scout. I've been so impressed with
- 1:44:21Speaker 3: his insights and more so with his rationale of his opinions.
- 1:44:24Speaker 3: Clearly he does his homework. I even enjoyed his analysis
- 1:44:28Speaker 3: of the upcoming drafts looking at all the talent coming out,
- 1:44:30Speaker 3: can't believe the scouts the Patriots have are that much superior.
- 1:44:35Speaker 2: Well, there you go.
- 1:44:37Speaker 1: I and this is not a joke.
- 1:44:39Speaker 8: I've said this to him since he started working with us,
- 1:44:42Speaker 8: and you know, we sort of got to know what
- 1:44:44Speaker 8: he's all about. And I've asked them many times if
- 1:44:47Speaker 8: he's ever given any any thought to try and to
- 1:44:49Speaker 8: get into the business, and he says, no, it's a
- 1:44:52Speaker 8: tough life, not really tough life.
- 1:44:53Speaker 1: It's a tough life.
- 1:44:54Speaker 3: On a side note, what is the logic for the
- 1:44:56Speaker 3: title of Catch twenty two? Is it related to the book?
- 1:44:59Speaker 3: If so, well, it is kind of a nod to
- 1:45:01Speaker 3: the book and you know the twenty All twenty two film. Yea,
- 1:45:06Speaker 3: the All twenty two film is so much.
- 1:45:08Speaker 8: About what he and Barth do they hatch, what all
- 1:45:11Speaker 8: twenty two are doing, as well as like it's a
- 1:45:13Speaker 8: pun on the play on words with twenty two.
- 1:45:16Speaker 3: So you know, they use the All twenty two film
- 1:45:18Speaker 3: as a part of their research. And so it's a
- 1:45:21Speaker 3: is that you Yeah, is that Catch twenty two?
- 1:45:24Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:45:24Speaker 2: I came up with that, of course.
- 1:45:25Speaker 8: I mean, in all seriousness, Yeah, it's one of the
- 1:45:27Speaker 8: best titles that I've heard for anything like that.
- 1:45:30Speaker 3: Yeah, But obviously it's an ode. It's an o to
- 1:45:33Speaker 3: the movie and the book. It's perfect yeap Joseph Heller's book.
- 1:45:37Speaker 3: I believe Catch twenty two predictions. If I planned against
- 1:45:41Speaker 3: the Patriots' Sunday, I would try to win by keeping
- 1:45:44Speaker 3: May on the sideline, so the running game would need
- 1:45:47Speaker 3: to be important. Still, I would not be surprised that
- 1:45:50Speaker 3: the Patriots would be ready for that game plan. So
- 1:45:53Speaker 3: the Patriots win because we have a better coaching staff
- 1:45:56Speaker 3: and dare I say, the better quarterback.
- 1:46:00Speaker 2: I think it's a toss.
- 1:46:01Speaker 8: I think both of those things remained to be seen.
- 1:46:03Speaker 3: Yeah, I think it's a toss up. So it's gonna
- 1:46:08Speaker 3: come down to just a few plays.
- 1:46:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean.
- 1:46:12Speaker 8: The first game people, I think it was so long ago.
- 1:46:18Speaker 8: I don't think people remember just how badly Buffalo played
- 1:46:20Speaker 8: in that game. Like they had three turnovers and eleven
- 1:46:23Speaker 8: penalties yep, and still had the ball with a chance
- 1:46:27Speaker 8: to go ahead, and had a very close pass breakup
- 1:46:33Speaker 8: that could have gone either way. That's interference or it's
- 1:46:38Speaker 8: a pass breakup, right, and the Bills could have taken
- 1:46:40Speaker 8: the lead, and they couldn't have played much worse. So
- 1:46:45Speaker 8: I just would caution on the whole you have the
- 1:46:47Speaker 8: edge here, you have the edge here, you have the
- 1:46:48Speaker 8: edge here.
- 1:46:49Speaker 1: Stuff like this is.
- 1:46:52Speaker 8: I think Buffalo is pretty good. They're not having a
- 1:46:54Speaker 8: great year, They're not healthy. I think you're catching them
- 1:46:56Speaker 8: at a great spot. I think they've sort of invested
- 1:46:59Speaker 8: a lot of energy the last couple of weeks. The
- 1:47:01Speaker 8: Patriots have a very good chance to win this game.
- 1:47:04Speaker 8: That's why I'm picking them. I think all the intangibles
- 1:47:06Speaker 8: are in the Patriots side.
- 1:47:07Speaker 3: Do you think like picking up Brandon Cooks and who's
- 1:47:11Speaker 3: the other guy they picked up off the street?
- 1:47:14Speaker 2: I forget another veteran. Is it any sign that they
- 1:47:17Speaker 2: believe we got to do this now?
- 1:47:20Speaker 8: They don't have anybody, That's what It's a sign, and
- 1:47:23Speaker 8: all their guys are hurt. Well, Curtis Samuel's on I are.
- 1:47:26Speaker 8: Josh Palmer has been out the last couple of weeks.
- 1:47:28Speaker 8: Dalton Kinkaid missed a month. Like they needed guys to
- 1:47:30Speaker 8: come in and catch the ball.
- 1:47:32Speaker 2: He was available, Yeah, Dylan and Nashville.
- 1:47:36Speaker 3: I just want to point out that belichick six Super
- 1:47:38Speaker 3: bowls in New England came with two offensive coordinators, Charlie
- 1:47:41Speaker 3: Weiss and Josh Mcdaniels's McDaniels our most important offseason acquisition. Well,
- 1:47:48Speaker 3: I would say it's vyable, but he's number two maybe acquisitions.
- 1:47:53Speaker 8: I mean, I don't know. They They signed a lot
- 1:47:57Speaker 8: of players that have been very, very important to.
- 1:47:59Speaker 2: The but any more important than Daniels.
- 1:48:03Speaker 8: Yeah, players are more important than coaches.
- 1:48:04Speaker 2: Okay, all right, I.
- 1:48:07Speaker 8: Mean, I'm not dismissing the coaching in this, but I'm
- 1:48:10Speaker 8: not doing this again.
- 1:48:11Speaker 3: I was.
- 1:48:12Speaker 8: I was on the wrong side of history before. I
- 1:48:15Speaker 8: ain't doing it again. I'm serious. I was on the
- 1:48:19Speaker 8: bill over Brady until like I was wrong. Yeah, like
- 1:48:24Speaker 8: you know, fool me once.
- 1:48:27Speaker 3: Dylan in South Florida says, the anti Patriot disdain online
- 1:48:30Speaker 3: is back. Uh to start off, It's fantastic to be
- 1:48:35Speaker 3: back again. Now online, the vitriol against the Patriots and
- 1:48:39Speaker 3: fans is back in full strength.
- 1:48:41Speaker 2: On Twitter.
- 1:48:42Speaker 3: You got idiotic Denver fanboys yapping off and now, for
- 1:48:45Speaker 3: some reason, Baltimore fans.
- 1:48:47Speaker 2: We're so back.
- 1:48:49Speaker 3: Not one tweet by opposing fans goes by without downplaying
- 1:48:52Speaker 3: May and the team.
- 1:48:53Speaker 2: It's pathetic. Really, I'm basking it. We are back.
- 1:48:57Speaker 3: Happy holidays to all go Pats AC title may be
- 1:49:01Speaker 3: February sixth.
- 1:49:04Speaker 2: So there you go. Let's see BB in New Hampshire, right, Sin,
- 1:49:14Speaker 2: I'm so hungry. I know you didn't.
- 1:49:16Speaker 8: You got stiff today, but did It's not like our
- 1:49:20Speaker 8: boys there.
- 1:49:21Speaker 2: I see Alex leaving now, but I don't know.
- 1:49:23Speaker 1: Maybe he's calling they forgot about me.
- 1:49:27Speaker 3: What kind of offense do you think we'll see this
- 1:49:29Speaker 3: week against Buffalo? Do you predict we see lots from
- 1:49:32Speaker 3: Hunter Henry more of a digs and booty game. I
- 1:49:35Speaker 3: personally don't know what to expect, but I'm interested to
- 1:49:38Speaker 3: see how this approach is different from our first matchup
- 1:49:41Speaker 3: with Buffalo. Who has other than May who has to
- 1:49:46Speaker 3: stand out for the Patris to win this game?
- 1:49:48Speaker 8: I would say the front seven. They can't allow James
- 1:49:51Speaker 8: Cook to pile up the yards. Defensive, yeah, yeah, defense, yeah, oh,
- 1:49:58Speaker 8: just offense we're talking about?
- 1:50:00Speaker 2: Yeah, he was talking about I'm talking about offense. Who
- 1:50:02Speaker 2: has to you know?
- 1:50:03Speaker 3: Is it a tight end game? Is it a running game?
- 1:50:06Speaker 3: Is it you know, downfield opening it up for the
- 1:50:09Speaker 3: running game.
- 1:50:09Speaker 8: I think it's a good thing. You know, it's a
- 1:50:12Speaker 8: positive sign that Josh McDaniels has set this up, and
- 1:50:17Speaker 8: you just never know from week to week who that
- 1:50:18Speaker 8: guy is going to be. You know, the first Buffalo game,
- 1:50:21Speaker 8: it was Digs. But how many times have we seen
- 1:50:24Speaker 8: to be a different guy? Five it was MATC Collins,
- 1:50:27Speaker 8: a week, it was Kay Shambouti a week, it was
- 1:50:30Speaker 8: Hunter Henry a week. You know, like it could be
- 1:50:33Speaker 8: anybody to Mario Douglas. I just don't know, Like I
- 1:50:36Speaker 8: wouldn't know who to pick to predict that it's going
- 1:50:39Speaker 8: to be this guy this week, right, but somebody, somebody
- 1:50:43Speaker 8: would have to have, you know, a good game and
- 1:50:45Speaker 8: you know someone.
- 1:50:46Speaker 1: I'd have to be productive.
- 1:50:47Speaker 3: I'd love to see as we get closer to the playoffs,
- 1:50:51Speaker 3: week to week, Diggs having high production games, you know,
- 1:50:56Speaker 3: establishing that guy similar.
- 1:50:57Speaker 2: To like how other teams number one.
- 1:51:01Speaker 3: Does it every week, Like where Diggs is getting at
- 1:51:04Speaker 3: least you know, seventy eighty yards minimum every game.
- 1:51:07Speaker 8: Yeah, I just don't think that he's that guy anymore
- 1:51:10Speaker 8: that can do. I mean, and it's not really anything
- 1:51:13Speaker 8: to do with his ACL. Like he wasn't that guy
- 1:51:14Speaker 8: in Houston last year before the ACL he was on
- 1:51:17Speaker 8: pace for like a thousand yard season, Like that's what
- 1:51:19Speaker 8: he's gonna do. He's he's their number one but I
- 1:51:22Speaker 8: don't think he's like a fifteen hundred yard guy, fourteen
- 1:51:25Speaker 8: hundred yard guy like he was in the past.
- 1:51:26Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 1:51:27Speaker 8: The thing that I like about it, Fred is that
- 1:51:29Speaker 8: maybe he isn't doing the six or seven for one
- 1:51:32Speaker 8: hundred every week, but it seems pretty much every week
- 1:51:37Speaker 8: when he has a low production game, it's one or
- 1:51:40Speaker 8: two that come on third.
- 1:51:41Speaker 1: And fourth down.
- 1:51:42Speaker 2: Yes, he's the third down guy.
- 1:51:43Speaker 1: The fourth down.
- 1:51:45Speaker 8: Really, he's been the guy almost every time.
- 1:51:47Speaker 2: Yeah, No, he's he's definitely.
- 1:51:49Speaker 8: He might not have a big week, he might get
- 1:51:51Speaker 8: three for thirty two yards, but two of those are
- 1:51:54Speaker 8: on fourth down that are instrumental when you're winning the game.
- 1:51:58Speaker 2: Let's see who's thish.
- 1:52:00Speaker 3: No, he doesn't say, but his headline subject line is
- 1:52:04Speaker 3: don't fear the Bills, Ravens and Texans and reasons why.
- 1:52:09Speaker 2: I hear all this?
- 1:52:10Speaker 8: You know the previous email that said we're back. Yeah,
- 1:52:13Speaker 8: that to me is the proof that we're back. We
- 1:52:15Speaker 8: have now completely dismissed everybody else.
- 1:52:18Speaker 3: I hear all the fear back, So this person says,
- 1:52:21Speaker 3: I hear all the fear about facing the Texans in
- 1:52:24Speaker 3: the playoffs. Let's not forget how absolutely dialed in. Digs
- 1:52:27Speaker 3: was the first time against the Bills. I'm confident he
- 1:52:30Speaker 3: will be at least as dialed in against the Texans,
- 1:52:33Speaker 3: who decided to not invest in him after a season
- 1:52:36Speaker 3: ending injury for that team. Motivation. Hell yeah, I'm not
- 1:52:39Speaker 3: fearing the Bills and Ravens games. I think our teams
- 1:52:42Speaker 3: are players, and our coaches will show up. They might
- 1:52:45Speaker 3: not get a dub, but they will show up, compete,
- 1:52:48Speaker 3: and they will learn about themselves and work on any
- 1:52:51Speaker 3: remaining holes in their operation.
- 1:52:53Speaker 8: Yeah, the Ravens aren't in this conversation. They're not a
- 1:52:55Speaker 8: good team this year.
- 1:52:56Speaker 1: I mean it is what it is.
- 1:52:57Speaker 8: They're six and seven, right, Yeah, No the other ones, Yeah,
- 1:53:02Speaker 8: I don't dismiss No, I don't dismiss nine and fourteen.
- 1:53:05Speaker 2: They go in the wrong direction, the Ravens. Right.
- 1:53:07Speaker 3: Jared in La has a problem with show attendance. My
- 1:53:13Speaker 3: only major great with the show is that the cast
- 1:53:16Speaker 3: is so infrequent. Even Paul's starting to not appear on
- 1:53:19Speaker 3: show days. The day before Thanksgiving was poor to me.
- 1:53:22Speaker 8: So I'll just let you know. The day before Christmas
- 1:53:24Speaker 8: Eve will be another one.
- 1:53:25Speaker 2: You're gonna do. I have my show holiday.
- 1:53:29Speaker 8: Filling holiday filling work. You know, I have two hundred
- 1:53:32Speaker 8: and eighty one thousand miles on my car. I need
- 1:53:34Speaker 8: something we should do. Oh that starts at two, right, Yeah,
- 1:53:37Speaker 8: it's two.
- 1:53:37Speaker 2: Okay. I was going to say we could do a crossover. Yeah.
- 1:53:42Speaker 3: But the most bothersome miss almost every week is Evan
- 1:53:45Speaker 3: not being at picks. I'm sorry, you cannot convince me
- 1:53:49Speaker 3: that you need to be gone for that to catch
- 1:53:51Speaker 3: quotes from Vrabel and even I have acted that even
- 1:53:54Speaker 3: I have access to. Even Alex makes the picks, and
- 1:53:57Speaker 3: it's annoying that she's never there to accept them.
- 1:54:01Speaker 2: I don't know what that means. I truly think you
- 1:54:04Speaker 2: all need.
- 1:54:04Speaker 3: To do better and should treat this more seriously rather
- 1:54:07Speaker 3: than taken for granted approach. Most of you have now
- 1:54:11Speaker 3: love the show. I skip Christian in LA's time on
- 1:54:14Speaker 3: the show every time. If I ever run into him,
- 1:54:16Speaker 3: I will think about tripping him.
- 1:54:18Speaker 2: Okay, j kinch.
- 1:54:20Speaker 8: I would assume that that's a little tongue in cheek,
- 1:54:23Speaker 8: but if it's not, if it's serious, I would just
- 1:54:25Speaker 8: say there are other things that go on, like I
- 1:54:29Speaker 8: almost never miss a show. Like when I miss a show,
- 1:54:31Speaker 8: it's because I get an opportunity to fill in, as
- 1:54:35Speaker 8: Fred likes to make fun of me for the holiday
- 1:54:36Speaker 8: fill in guy. Otherwise, I'm here every show for the
- 1:54:39Speaker 8: full show, but for Mike and Hevin, the locker.
- 1:54:43Speaker 1: Room is open.
- 1:54:45Speaker 8: There are things that they need to do, like that's
- 1:54:48Speaker 8: part of what we do here, Like it's not just
- 1:54:50Speaker 8: this show. I love the show. Fred loves the show.
- 1:54:53Speaker 8: That's why we're here more often than not. But I
- 1:54:56Speaker 8: don't necessarily make fun of the others that have to
- 1:54:59Speaker 8: go to the locker room as an example.
- 1:55:00Speaker 3: Yeah, Nate and Connecticut rights in Buffalo doesn't scare me
- 1:55:05Speaker 3: too much.
- 1:55:07Speaker 2: Don't get me wrong.
- 1:55:07Speaker 3: I think there's a fifty to fifty chance that who
- 1:55:09Speaker 3: will win the game on Sunday, But I think the
- 1:55:11Speaker 3: Patriots have the ability to beat any team in the
- 1:55:13Speaker 3: NFL this season.
- 1:55:14Speaker 2: I'm just hoping for a very competitive and entertaining game.
- 1:55:18Speaker 3: The Patriots have surpassed my expectations this season, and no
- 1:55:20Speaker 3: matter how the rest of the season goes, I'll be
- 1:55:23Speaker 3: pretty happy.
- 1:55:24Speaker 2: But of course I'm rooting for them to win the
- 1:55:25Speaker 2: Super Bowl. I love the show. Coming up on twenty
- 1:55:28Speaker 2: years of listening, well.
- 1:55:29Speaker 8: I would agree with that the tenor of that email, like, Yeah,
- 1:55:33Speaker 8: I don't think you should be afraid of any of
- 1:55:34Speaker 8: these teams, So if you want to use that word scared,
- 1:55:38Speaker 8: I'm not. Yeah, I would agree, I just but you
- 1:55:40Speaker 8: also said I think it's like a fifty to fifty game.
- 1:55:43Speaker 8: I would agree with that too. I could see Buffalo winning.
- 1:55:46Speaker 8: I could see the Patriots winning. I think the Patriots
- 1:55:49Speaker 8: have some edges in this game that are going to
- 1:55:50Speaker 8: be the difference.
- 1:55:52Speaker 3: Tay from Nebraska rights in, We've got a big game,
- 1:55:56Speaker 3: not only this weekend but also next. I do think
- 1:55:59Speaker 3: they both potentially could really tell us about if this
- 1:56:01Speaker 3: team at this point in the year is ready to
- 1:56:03Speaker 3: make a postseason run.
- 1:56:04Speaker 2: Look, speaking of runs.
- 1:56:09Speaker 3: Friendly to that, none of them looked like Devik, Henry
- 1:56:12Speaker 3: and Mike.
- 1:56:13Speaker 4: What was it like?
- 1:56:14Speaker 9: Wow, just under the bar here, jus, it was crazy
- 1:56:17Speaker 9: in there.
- 1:56:17Speaker 7: This is like I haven't seen a locker room like
- 1:56:19Speaker 7: this busy and maybe go back to twenty nine.
- 1:56:22Speaker 1: Was there a lot out of town and just a
- 1:56:25Speaker 1: lot of new.
- 1:56:25Speaker 7: Faces, A couple out of town, but reporters, cameras just
- 1:56:29Speaker 7: I mean, scrom scrom scrum, I mean we did a bunch.
- 1:56:32Speaker 7: We talked to Diggs at the top as we always do,
- 1:56:34Speaker 7: but him Gonzalez, Tonga, Vederian Lowe mac Hollins, and usually
- 1:56:40Speaker 7: we get.
- 1:56:40Speaker 8: Like maybe two or three, but it's and there was
- 1:56:43Speaker 8: from Tonga.
- 1:56:44Speaker 1: Did you get he was asking.
- 1:56:45Speaker 7: About it and I think he's still dealing with something
- 1:56:48Speaker 7: I you know, but roach he asked him, you know, specifically,
- 1:56:51Speaker 7: how you feeling you're ready to play both sides of
- 1:56:53Speaker 7: the ball.
- 1:56:53Speaker 1: He's like, yeah, you know, I'm feeling pretty good.
- 1:56:55Speaker 7: You know, it's kind of playing a little koy, you know,
- 1:56:58Speaker 7: and the big theme I would just say.
- 1:56:59Speaker 2: But he asked the eating question, not are you going
- 1:57:01Speaker 2: to play? But how do you feel about playing?
- 1:57:03Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 1:57:03Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, Now that that's classic broachy. But a
- 1:57:06Speaker 1: lot of stuff about just playing a team a second time?
- 1:57:09Speaker 1: What is a game plan?
- 1:57:10Speaker 5: Like now?
- 1:57:10Speaker 7: You know, just saying everything is kind of on tape
- 1:57:12Speaker 7: and you know, teams are ultimately going to do what
- 1:57:14Speaker 7: they do best. They might have some wrinkles, but they're
- 1:57:16Speaker 7: going to get back to what they've done best.
- 1:57:19Speaker 1: But I just I can't say.
- 1:57:20Speaker 7: Enough about the atmosphere in the locker room today. And
- 1:57:22Speaker 7: you know a lot of guys are you're underdogs now?
- 1:57:24Speaker 7: Diggs was like I hadn't heard that, and I didn't know.
- 1:57:26Speaker 2: You know, it was it upbeat, it.
- 1:57:28Speaker 7: Was very up be Yeah, I mean it was any music, no,
- 1:57:30Speaker 7: no music, but just you know, commotion. I mean, there's
- 1:57:33Speaker 7: just so many people in the locker room. I mean
- 1:57:34Speaker 7: it's you know, Paul, you know on Friday, it's just
- 1:57:36Speaker 7: like a little clump usually in.
- 1:57:38Speaker 2: The middle, but this is Jenny elbowing and spread out.
- 1:57:40Speaker 1: Not really well, you know, I like respect my person
- 1:57:42Speaker 1: in the space.
- 1:57:44Speaker 2: Usually the camera they start yelling at writers that get
- 1:57:48Speaker 2: in front of their camera.
- 1:57:49Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, bang in the head with the micro But
- 1:57:52Speaker 8: Diggs was funny.
- 1:57:52Speaker 1: He's like, you know, are you excited. He's like, yeah,
- 1:57:54Speaker 1: I'm excited.
- 1:57:54Speaker 7: You probably can't tell though, you know, so he's playing
- 1:57:56Speaker 7: cool to the best, close to the best. But yeah,
- 1:57:59Speaker 7: it's just you can tell the energy is really good
- 1:58:01Speaker 7: right now and they're getting ready. I couldn't even see him.
- 1:58:05Speaker 7: I mean I see him in there, but like, there's
- 1:58:07Speaker 7: just it's just a massive humanity the whole locker room.
- 1:58:10Speaker 8: Might make it to the locker room because I think
- 1:58:12Speaker 8: Fred I think, yeah, I might have hit a nerve there, and.
- 1:58:17Speaker 1: He seemed okay, he's the idea.
- 1:58:18Speaker 7: I mean I crossed paths with him a couple of times,
- 1:58:19Speaker 7: but I didn't see what he was, you know, getting
- 1:58:21Speaker 7: himself into.
- 1:58:22Speaker 8: But it was good news for your foods here afterwards
- 1:58:26Speaker 8: you might have to find any.
- 1:58:27Speaker 2: Late than never.
- 1:58:28Speaker 1: So there it is.
- 1:58:29Speaker 7: I ran back because we were just going scrum to
- 1:58:30Speaker 7: scrumb to scrumb, and then I'm like, man, I got
- 1:58:32Speaker 7: to get back to tell the guys like this was
- 1:58:33Speaker 7: you know, really active locker room. From what I see,
- 1:58:36Speaker 7: feels like a playoff, you know, it feels like, you know,
- 1:58:39Speaker 7: games going to get bigger is a big game.
- 1:58:42Speaker 2: They all get harder, and you know next year.
- 1:58:44Speaker 3: They'll have a bigger locker room, so they're gonna need
- 1:58:47Speaker 3: it hopefully. All Right, Well that's going to be it
