- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the almost famous podcast with iHeartRadio. Hey everybody,
- 0:06Speaker 1: it's Trista and Bob with the almost famous OG's And
- 0:09Speaker 1: we were having so much fun with Gillian Harris that
- 0:12Speaker 1: we wanted to chat some more. So let's dive back in. Okay,
- 0:16Speaker 1: so tell us about the wedding. You're getting married this
- 0:19Speaker 1: year and it's going to be in Europe. We know
- 0:22Speaker 1: you just had your bachelorette party, beautiful pictures from that.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Tell us about it, or at least what you want
- 0:29Speaker 1: to tell.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Okay, it's actually not in Europe anymore.
- 0:31Speaker 3: Oh, it's not in Europe anymore.
- 0:33Speaker 4: I know.
- 0:34Speaker 2: I told People Magazine it was in Europe because I
- 0:36Speaker 2: really thought it was going to be, but we actually
- 0:38Speaker 2: had booked everything in Italy. I was We've literally planned
- 0:42Speaker 2: the wedding four times and we decided that we were
- 0:45Speaker 2: this summer because we love Italy, and I really struggled
- 0:49Speaker 2: with the guest list, and I was like, this is great,
- 0:50Speaker 2: We'll do it in Italy. Keep it small. But my
- 0:52Speaker 2: mom health has not been great over the years. My
- 0:56Speaker 2: mom really struggles with bipolar. She's been really really good
- 1:00Speaker 2: for the last year and a half or so, so like,
- 1:02Speaker 2: thank the Lord, but if she were ever to relapse,
- 1:06Speaker 2: then she wouldn't be able to come, and then my
- 1:09Speaker 2: dad wouldn't come, and I just could not risk that.
- 1:12Speaker 2: So last minute I canceled that wedding again for like
- 1:15Speaker 2: the third or fourth time. And now our wedding is
- 1:18Speaker 2: here in Kelowna, and actually, believe it or not, I
- 1:22Speaker 2: was also convinced to make it. It's like a five
- 1:25Speaker 2: day wedding. So we're actually getting married at a church first,
- 1:29Speaker 2: which if you see news reports of a church going
- 1:32Speaker 2: down in flames on August verbs, it will be because
- 1:36Speaker 2: of me. Lots of candles, you guys, Okay, for anybody
- 1:41Speaker 2: that knows me, you will be shocked. I spent the
- 1:43Speaker 2: entire weekend going through and picking all of my prayers,
- 1:48Speaker 2: picking all of my oh like read I have, like
- 1:52Speaker 2: I want to customize it. So like, no, I'm taking
- 1:55Speaker 2: this very seriously. So we're married on at our church.
- 2:00Speaker 2: And it was the same church that Justin's parents got
- 2:02Speaker 2: married at, so that's really beautiful. And it's the same
- 2:04Speaker 2: church that the kids, our kids go to Catholic school.
- 2:06Speaker 2: This is a whole other thing, but it's the same
- 2:08Speaker 2: church that they go to for their Mass every Thursday,
- 2:12Speaker 2: So anyways, that's happening, and then we're having a big
- 2:16Speaker 2: Italian themed rehearsal dinner here at the house afterwards. I'm
- 2:20Speaker 2: very excited about that, just aesthetically, it's going to be
- 2:23Speaker 2: really really fun and not like everybody expectually inherits to
- 2:26Speaker 2: have like whites and pinks and whatnot. It's going to
- 2:29Speaker 2: be like like so much color, like your background, like
- 2:32Speaker 2: so so much color.
- 2:35Speaker 3: And then color.
- 2:36Speaker 2: Yeah. And then on the weekend we're getting married at
- 2:40Speaker 2: our farm and it's just like it's a flower there's
- 2:44Speaker 2: flowers everywhere, lots of color. Brides get to wear whatever
- 2:48Speaker 2: they want, bouncy castle for the kids. I don't know,
- 2:54Speaker 2: all the good stuff.
- 2:56Speaker 4: That's so I'm excited.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 3:01Speaker 5: You and Justin have always been such a wonderful couple.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Oh thank you.
- 3:04Speaker 1: So you waited this long and you're gonna have two
- 3:07Speaker 1: weddings not just fun too.
- 3:09Speaker 2: And then we're having a party the next day. We're
- 3:11Speaker 2: going a Ukrainian themed party because I'm Ukrainian and it's
- 3:16Speaker 2: gonna be on our doc and I have I hired
- 3:18Speaker 2: this lady. She's a Ukrainian refuge refugee. She came over
- 3:21Speaker 2: right during the war, and she has this company and
- 3:25Speaker 2: she makes parogis in the mall, like you know when
- 3:27Speaker 2: you go to the mall and they make like cinnamon
- 3:29Speaker 2: buns in front of you and you can. Yes, it's
- 3:32Speaker 2: like this, but pogis so so we're doing like a
- 3:35Speaker 2: big parogy bar and Caesar's and everything like that. So yeah,
- 3:38Speaker 2: it's like a it's a full on freakin' Yeah.
- 3:42Speaker 5: It's so awesome. I love it. You're getting you're getting
- 3:46Speaker 5: all those all those security deposits back from all those years.
- 3:50Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't even know none of those
- 3:52Speaker 2: vendors are even still in business.
- 3:54Speaker 5: Oh my gosh.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Yeah, we have to start from scratch. But that's okay whatever,
- 3:58Speaker 2: that's yeah.
- 4:00Speaker 1: I'd have done it on your own, even I don't
- 4:02Speaker 1: put that past you.
- 4:03Speaker 3: You could have done it on your own.
- 4:04Speaker 1: But yeah, it's amazing. I cannot wait to see pictures
- 4:07Speaker 1: and video and.
- 4:08Speaker 3: All the things.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:11Speaker 1: How are the kids feeling about a big wedding or two?
- 4:14Speaker 2: They're excited. I don't think they have any idea what's
- 4:19Speaker 2: what's going on? But Annie's got her dress is the
- 4:24Speaker 2: exact replica of mine. But baby Blue, I love it. Oh, yeah,
- 4:29Speaker 2: so she's super excited about that there's a woman in town.
- 4:32Speaker 2: So the dress is all like locally made, Canadian owned,
- 4:35Speaker 2: all that kind of stuff, and Leo's they've all got
- 4:39Speaker 2: like several outfit changes and whatnot. But there's a lot
- 4:42Speaker 2: of kids. Like, there's gonna be I think, like forty
- 4:44Speaker 2: kids at the wedding.
- 4:46Speaker 5: That's awesome.
- 4:47Speaker 2: It's gonna be a bit chaotic. I'm a bit concerned,
- 4:49Speaker 2: like we have dedicated babysitters and all that kind of stuff.
- 4:52Speaker 2: But yeah, it's gonna be crazy.
- 4:55Speaker 4: That is so unbelievable. Yeah, wait, so can I ask
- 4:59Speaker 4: so the kids her been like do they even know
- 5:01Speaker 4: that you weren't married legally technically?
- 5:05Speaker 5: Okay?
- 5:06Speaker 2: Annie barely calls me mom. She calls me Jillian Harris
- 5:09Speaker 2: she does. And everything around our house has like Jillybox Jillian,
- 5:15Speaker 2: like the Jillian are Like if we meet somebody, she'll
- 5:17Speaker 2: be like, oh is that from the Jilly Are they
- 5:19Speaker 2: from the Jillibox or is that Like our kids are
- 5:22Speaker 2: really into our business.
- 5:24Speaker 5: Like oh my gosh, oh yeah.
- 5:26Speaker 3: And there too.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Yeah, they wanted they really want me to change my
- 5:29Speaker 2: last name, which I said I would, but not my stage.
- 5:32Speaker 4: Name, right, you got stage name function. Yeah, that's why
- 5:36Speaker 4: Canyon is Canyon. She she she kept Canyon. That was
- 5:39Speaker 4: her maiden name. I just call her Canyon. So she's
- 5:41Speaker 4: Canyon Guiney to everybody.
- 5:42Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 5:43Speaker 2: I love that, but yeah, they know that we're not married.
- 5:47Speaker 2: It's it's disgusted. It is.
- 5:51Speaker 4: So I need to tell you this, Jillian, because what
- 5:52Speaker 4: you just said made me laugh so hard. My son, Grayson,
- 5:55Speaker 4: who's six his he will be and it interests her
- 5:59Speaker 4: to me tell the story a million times, but it happens.
- 6:02Speaker 5: This kind of thing happens all the time.
- 6:03Speaker 4: Like people will come over and he'll go, oh, is
- 6:06Speaker 4: that one of your old girl friends And I'm like, what, No,
- 6:10Speaker 4: that's your mom's friend.
- 6:11Speaker 5: Oh sorry, bachelor Bob.
- 6:13Speaker 4: And like literally he'll say, we'll be like we'll be
- 6:16Speaker 4: at McDonald's at the playland and I'll order them like
- 6:19Speaker 4: milkshakes and French fries, and a fourteen year old girl
- 6:21Speaker 4: will be delivering the and.
- 6:22Speaker 5: He'll go, yep, that's him. He'll be of from the plateland. Yeah,
- 6:25Speaker 5: he'll take a picture with you.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Oh my god, that's awesome.
- 6:29Speaker 5: You'll go ahead, bat you Bob, take a picture with him.
- 6:31Speaker 5: I'm like she's fourteen. Bro, she doesn't know why stop?
- 6:35Speaker 4: You know, it drives me crazy, you know, but it's
- 6:38Speaker 4: like he does that all the time.
- 6:40Speaker 2: I love it.
- 6:41Speaker 5: We need to get them together, they need to hang out.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Yeah, no, absolutely, the kids definitely have no problem Ris
- 6:49Speaker 2: and me and us, and they're like, Annie will be like,
- 6:53Speaker 2: actually in Harris, I'm the boss with everyone.
- 7:00Speaker 5: You're like, okay, honey, thank you.
- 7:02Speaker 2: That's right.
- 7:03Speaker 5: Room. You know, if you were a normal employee, you'd
- 7:05Speaker 5: be paid.
- 7:06Speaker 4: You wouldn't get paid to day, but I'm gonna let
- 7:07Speaker 4: you have the day.
- 7:11Speaker 3: And there for seven and nine.
- 7:14Speaker 2: So Leo's turning nine August fifth, and Annie tre then
- 7:17Speaker 2: at the end of September.
- 7:19Speaker 4: Oh my god, I just feel like Grayson and Annie.
- 7:22Speaker 4: Grayson and Annie might be the same person.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Yeah, we honestly, and if we do, we should do
- 7:27Speaker 2: a bachelor union with everybody kids while kids and you
- 7:30Speaker 2: can have bounty castles, water slides, we could do challenges
- 7:33Speaker 2: for the kids like we can. You'd be so wholesome,
- 7:37Speaker 2: so much fun.
- 7:38Speaker 5: That would be awesome, dude, like a little bachelor pad.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Max and Blakesley can babysit. Max Yes, turning eighteen on Saturday,
- 7:47Speaker 1: Oh my.
- 7:47Speaker 5: Wow, that's unbelievable. Trista, that's crazy.
- 7:52Speaker 2: That's drinking age in Canada.
- 7:55Speaker 5: Oh gosh.
- 7:56Speaker 3: Well hopefully, well, good thing he's not in Canada. No,
- 7:58Speaker 3: I'm just kidding, he he. I don't think he's really
- 8:02Speaker 3: interested in it.
- 8:03Speaker 1: You know, I'm his mom, so he probably hides.
- 8:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know that he is.
- 8:07Speaker 1: He's really interested in like working out and taking care
- 8:10Speaker 1: of his body. So hopefully he's not take.
- 8:12Speaker 2: After his parents.
- 8:14Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah he does.
- 8:16Speaker 3: I don't know about me, but thank you.
- 8:18Speaker 5: Meanwhile, the Guinea Boys are doing jaeger bombs.
- 8:20Speaker 2: And it's all about bance.
- 8:24Speaker 5: That's right, healthy balance, that's so funny.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Okay, I do have one question related to the wedding.
- 8:31Speaker 1: I feel like in society there is definitely this like
- 8:34Speaker 1: pressure to do things in a certain order, in a
- 8:37Speaker 1: certain way, and before maybe you're forty years old, how
- 8:43Speaker 1: do you feel about that societal pressure? Obviously it's not
- 8:46Speaker 1: something that you worry too much about because you know
- 8:50Speaker 1: you're you're doing things your own way, which I think
- 8:53Speaker 1: so many kudos to you, But how how has that
- 8:56Speaker 1: impacted the decision to wait and how.
- 9:00Speaker 3: How do you feel about that societal norm.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Well, I I always joke that you're gonna have to
- 9:06Speaker 2: like take me down to the aisle and depends like
- 9:08Speaker 2: I've waited for it. But yeah, I mean at this rate,
- 9:14Speaker 2: I feel like Justin and I are kind of already married. Yeah.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Like to be honest, like, it's not that I didn't
- 9:21Speaker 2: want to marry him. I love him, work together, we're
- 9:24Speaker 2: good partners. But I'm a little European that way. That
- 9:27Speaker 2: I also because I'm an only child, I I'm so independent.
- 9:32Speaker 2: I was like, oh, I don't know if I want to, Like,
- 9:34Speaker 2: I like being my own person. Like you read the
- 9:38Speaker 2: things that they tell you in this book here, it's
- 9:41Speaker 2: like says like you become one flesh, and I'm like,
- 9:44Speaker 2: I don't.
- 9:49Speaker 5: Not sure I feel about literally.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Okay, I'm I'm not even kidding you. There's one excerpt
- 9:54Speaker 2: I got to bring this up and it says literally
- 9:57Speaker 2: Lord is blessed with the Silent White or something like this,
- 10:02Speaker 2: and I sent it to our wedding party. I'm like,
- 10:04Speaker 2: do you guys see what I'm having to deal with
- 10:06Speaker 2: right now? So I don't really care about my age.
- 10:11Speaker 2: I think when I started to care about my age
- 10:12Speaker 2: is when I couldn't find that person I started that
- 10:15Speaker 2: it wasn't going to happen for me, and I just
- 10:20Speaker 2: even though being a parent and being in a relationship
- 10:22Speaker 2: is the hardest thing in the whole world. It is
- 10:25Speaker 2: so hard. I'm so happy that I'm in it. But
- 10:28Speaker 2: at one point, right before I met Justin, I was
- 10:31Speaker 2: really loving my life and I was like I could
- 10:34Speaker 2: actually get used to this.
- 10:36Speaker 5: Like I was.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Traveling all over the world, I dated whoever I wanted,
- 10:39Speaker 2: I did whatever I wanted. I was fit, Like I
- 10:42Speaker 2: was like, you know what, I may not want to
- 10:44Speaker 2: do this like relationship kid thing, but having kids was
- 10:49Speaker 2: so important to me, and so yeah, I think I
- 10:53Speaker 2: really really stressed about the timeline of things around the
- 10:57Speaker 2: time I met Justin, Like I was wondering, like I'm
- 11:01Speaker 2: going to be thirty four. I think it was thirty
- 11:04Speaker 2: two or thirty four, and everybody was on their second
- 11:08Speaker 2: marriages for Pete's sakes. So but now where I'm at
- 11:12Speaker 2: right now, I just don't feel like I'm forty five.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Like I don't feel that I'm old.
- 11:18Speaker 3: I feel like you're not.
- 11:20Speaker 5: I feel forty five is not old. I'm at least
- 11:23Speaker 5: compared to us.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know.
- 11:28Speaker 5: At least compared to me. I'm the old one, twisted,
- 11:31Speaker 5: just the I only think she's even fifty, Yet she
- 11:33Speaker 5: keeps saying that she.
- 11:34Speaker 3: Had her birth dap it.
- 11:35Speaker 1: I'm fifty two.
- 11:37Speaker 2: I love that we are gorgeous for our a You
- 11:41Speaker 2: too are a couple of stars.
- 11:42Speaker 5: Oh Bob, you.
- 11:44Speaker 3: Too were alling on you too?
- 11:45Speaker 2: No, I don't, I don't care. And also, like, I
- 11:48Speaker 2: believe that people can get married, remarried, they can go
- 11:51Speaker 2: on to have five marriages. I think you can have
- 11:53Speaker 2: a marriage, you can have babies on your own, you
- 11:56Speaker 2: can get married. Like I think that there's no rules.
- 11:59Speaker 2: I think it's rules that get us into trouble mentally.
- 12:02Speaker 2: I think that ultimately you need to be happy and
- 12:06Speaker 2: do what makes you happy and sets you free, and
- 12:09Speaker 2: that is so important. I think you still have to
- 12:11Speaker 2: work in a relationship. I think there are still challenges
- 12:14Speaker 2: in relationship, but life just doesn't always Who made up
- 12:18Speaker 2: the rules that it had to go that way anyways?
- 12:20Speaker 5: Right?
- 12:20Speaker 6: Right?
- 12:21Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, right?
- 12:22Speaker 2: I think it was this. I think I think I
- 12:23Speaker 2: might have been this.
- 12:24Speaker 5: I think I might have been this guy.
- 12:26Speaker 3: I think so, maybe, I think so.
- 12:28Speaker 4: Maybe.
- 12:29Speaker 2: I just don't think it has to be that way,
- 12:32Speaker 2: and our father, father Maurice. I've had quite a few
- 12:36Speaker 2: conversations with him and he gets a kick out of
- 12:38Speaker 2: me because we have to do this course right, and
- 12:41Speaker 2: then you have to do reflections in the course, and
- 12:43Speaker 2: I feel like, how did you feel? I'm like, dude,
- 12:46Speaker 2: I've been doing this for thirteen years. Like they ask like,
- 12:48Speaker 2: who's going to take care of the children, Who's going
- 12:50Speaker 2: to take out the trash? I'm like, Justin and I
- 12:52Speaker 2: have already thought about this extensively for the last thirteen years,
- 12:55Speaker 2: which is why after thirteen years we are now getting married,
- 12:58Speaker 2: because we've actually worked all this stuff out right.
- 13:02Speaker 5: Yeah, we got there.
- 13:03Speaker 2: We're We're good now.
- 13:17Speaker 4: I love seeing videos of Justin, like you know, back there,
- 13:20Speaker 4: like surfing with the kids on the water and doing
- 13:22Speaker 4: all the fun stuff. And he's such a great athlete,
- 13:25Speaker 4: man is he is? He still do all that cool stuff,
- 13:27Speaker 4: all the all the sponsored stuff he used to do.
- 13:29Speaker 5: Well.
- 13:30Speaker 2: He so he his main job is still Instagram and
- 13:35Speaker 2: he has a pretty good going at that. He's very
- 13:38Speaker 2: lucrative with with his partnerships and whatnot, which is awesome
- 13:43Speaker 2: and he loves it. So his main things are like golf,
- 13:47Speaker 2: the farm, anything, yard, travel, and then the kids and
- 13:51Speaker 2: he actually like quite a bit of stuff in the
- 13:53Speaker 2: kitchen and whatnot in some fashion, So like don't like
- 13:56Speaker 2: totally lifestyle like dad dad lifestyle. Sure, yeah, but it
- 14:00Speaker 2: keeps them mostly busy. Is our farm. Our fam is
- 14:04Speaker 2: like a full time job. So we have eleven acres
- 14:07Speaker 2: and right now it's a flower farm, but we ordered
- 14:11Speaker 2: five hundred oak trees and when those go in, next
- 14:14Speaker 2: string will be we'll have a trouble farm.
- 14:17Speaker 5: Whoa.
- 14:22Speaker 2: And then we I think are going to rent out
- 14:24Speaker 2: our property for weddings.
- 14:26Speaker 4: But yes, that kind of shocked you haven't done that
- 14:30Speaker 4: already with the weddings.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Well, because we are fire here, so farm right, Yeah,
- 14:36Speaker 2: the farm burnt down, the barn burnt down, and then
- 14:39Speaker 2: it's taken us a long time to like rebuild and
- 14:41Speaker 2: replant and all that kind of stuff. So yeah, because
- 14:44Speaker 2: are you in.
- 14:44Speaker 5: La Bomberno, No, I'm in Michigan. Are you to move
- 14:48Speaker 5: back home? No?
- 14:50Speaker 4: No, we got lucky from that perspective, but yeah, there's
- 14:54Speaker 4: but we've often talked about the Canyon's dream is to
- 14:57Speaker 4: have a farm and make it like a wedding farm
- 15:00Speaker 4: because there was a couple in Seattle that we loved
- 15:01Speaker 4: when we lived there.
- 15:02Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, so the parks, I'm super busy. It's a
- 15:06Speaker 2: it's a money taker from us, not really a money maker.
- 15:09Speaker 2: But he loves he loves his Instagram. He does these
- 15:13Speaker 2: like sandwich reviews and like he just loves being on there.
- 15:17Speaker 2: So that's his thing. But sports wise, right at the
- 15:21Speaker 2: beginning of COVID, he we went to the island and
- 15:24Speaker 2: he was showing teaching Leo how to skateboard and he
- 15:26Speaker 2: shattered his ankle. Oh no, because it was COVID. They
- 15:29Speaker 2: did job putting it back together. Yeah, reoperated on twice.
- 15:33Speaker 2: And he has like chronic chronic pain, like to the
- 15:36Speaker 2: point that it's I can see that it's it's really
- 15:40Speaker 2: affecting his his space as a person. Like, yeah, he's
- 15:46Speaker 2: such chronic pain, and he's like he's all about like
- 15:49Speaker 2: no GMOs, no advil, no no pills, no like no medicine,
- 15:53Speaker 2: and so like he just he just lives with this pain.
- 15:56Speaker 2: But November fourth, he's getting a full ankle replacement.
- 16:00Speaker 5: My brother in law just got that.
- 16:02Speaker 2: What.
- 16:02Speaker 5: Yeah, you have.
- 16:02Speaker 2: To tak out to Justin and let him know because
- 16:05Speaker 2: he's nervous.
- 16:05Speaker 4: I will, Yeah, you know what, I'll connect them and
- 16:08Speaker 4: they can talk about it. Because my brother in law,
- 16:10Speaker 4: Jad just did one and he's getting ready to do
- 16:11Speaker 4: the other one next year.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Why why did he have to get his ankles replaced?
- 16:15Speaker 4: Well, he so he just had this kind of weird
- 16:18Speaker 4: degenerative bone condition that started coming on. But he was
- 16:20Speaker 4: he played sports in college and stuff and had blown
- 16:23Speaker 4: out his ankle like twenty times, and then all of
- 16:26Speaker 4: a sudden it became a thing where like we'd be
- 16:28Speaker 4: playing golf and we'd look I'd look over at him
- 16:31Speaker 4: and it was like he had like a weird appendage
- 16:33Speaker 4: where his foot should be, and like, what is going
- 16:35Speaker 4: on with you?
- 16:36Speaker 5: He couldn't climb out of bunkers?
- 16:38Speaker 2: She like yes, Like sometimes Justin will get out of
- 16:41Speaker 2: bed and he's literally limping like he's been shot, like
- 16:45Speaker 2: and tell him angle gets warmed up. It's so sad.
- 16:49Speaker 5: Yeah, that's that's what my brother went through too.
- 16:52Speaker 3: I broke my ankle during COVID.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Do you remember when we did that like the Roses,
- 16:56Speaker 1: Like we passed the Roses and did that little video
- 17:00Speaker 1: And I was in a boot during then and had
- 17:02Speaker 1: my ankle worked on and.
- 17:04Speaker 3: I have this. I don't.
- 17:06Speaker 1: I wouldn't call it chronic pain, but you're right, like
- 17:08Speaker 1: when I get out of bed, I have to limp
- 17:11Speaker 1: to the bathroom in the mornings, and it is and
- 17:14Speaker 1: I still don't have feeling. Tell us about the children's book,
- 17:29Speaker 1: like a cute little children's book.
- 17:32Speaker 2: This was Justin's idea, and how it actually started was
- 17:35Speaker 2: we wanted to write a book. I think there should
- 17:37Speaker 2: be a movie about Nacho, but anyways, we wanted to
- 17:40Speaker 2: about Nacho from like Reichs to Riches, how he like
- 17:43Speaker 2: came from Mexico and he just about died and then
- 17:46Speaker 2: he liked, do you know that Nacho had his own
- 17:48Speaker 2: like billboard in Times Square? He was, Yes, he was
- 17:51Speaker 2: featured on the Ellen Show like this dog went viral
- 17:54Speaker 2: on Instagram all the time, and so we wanted to
- 17:57Speaker 2: write a book about him. But for some reason our
- 17:59Speaker 2: public didn't like that idea. I don't know why, but
- 18:02Speaker 2: we're going to continue to hit them up for it.
- 18:04Speaker 2: So then they were like, well, we do want to
- 18:07Speaker 2: do a children's book with you though, but not that,
- 18:09Speaker 2: And I'm like, well, that was our idea, Like I
- 18:11Speaker 2: don't know, like so then then Justin and I chatted
- 18:15Speaker 2: and we're like, you know, what would be interesting is
- 18:17Speaker 2: like people look at our life and like, yes, you know,
- 18:22Speaker 2: I still acknowledge the amount of privilege that we have
- 18:25Speaker 2: in our life. We're both mostly able bodied. We live
- 18:28Speaker 2: in such a safe place, like there are so many great,
- 18:31Speaker 2: great things that we have to be grateful for. But
- 18:33Speaker 2: but even if you could took somebody else like exactly
- 18:36Speaker 2: like us, people look at us and think like, oh,
- 18:38Speaker 2: they're so perfect their Instagram life and all this stuff,
- 18:40Speaker 2: But behind the scenes, it's chill, like like like on Friday,
- 18:46Speaker 2: I just bo called off the whole wedding because Justin
- 18:49Speaker 2: put its fucking dirty tuna dish in with my clean
- 18:52Speaker 2: dishes at six in the morning when I'm trying to
- 18:55Speaker 2: we're trying to get we're leaving this condo that we rented,
- 18:57Speaker 2: and I'm trying to leave it in decent shape. It's
- 18:59Speaker 2: six in the morning. I'm trying to get out of there.
- 19:01Speaker 2: I have wedding meetings back in Colonna, have like an
- 19:02Speaker 2: hour and a half drive. There's a clearly a dirty
- 19:05Speaker 2: side and a clean side. And he was just speaking
- 19:07Speaker 2: dirty tunic, and so all I said was all I said,
- 19:11Speaker 2: was all I said was okay, and I took the
- 19:14Speaker 2: dirty tunis and he's you don't have to be so rude,
- 19:17Speaker 2: and I'm like, I'm not being rude, it's just don't
- 19:19Speaker 2: put your thty tunics and thing. He's like, oh, well,
- 19:22Speaker 2: you don't have to be accountable for anything.
- 19:23Speaker 4: Like you're the one that.
- 19:27Speaker 5: I like.
- 19:27Speaker 7: Anyways, So then then at this point, at this point,
- 19:30Speaker 7: like I'm talking like like this, like like not fist,
- 19:33Speaker 7: like not fisical, but look like we're like job and
- 19:35Speaker 7: this job, and that Leo comes downstairs.
- 19:37Speaker 2: He's like, are you guys breaking up? I'm like, yes,
- 19:39Speaker 2: we are again, we're breaking up. I'm like, no, we're
- 19:43Speaker 2: not breaking up, Jillian, You're gonna scar this poor kid.
- 19:46Speaker 2: Like it's like, hey, no, we're not breaking up, but
- 19:49Speaker 2: I want to. But anyways, behind the scene was like
- 19:56Speaker 2: it's chaotic. We just got a new kiddie, got a
- 19:59Speaker 2: new puppy. I'm the worst driver ever. Like all of
- 20:02Speaker 2: our seat, all of our bushes are all trash because
- 20:05Speaker 2: I run over everything, and so like our days are
- 20:08Speaker 2: just absolute chaotic. And it isn't until bedtime that we're
- 20:12Speaker 2: all like, oh, holy right, okay, let's do this. And
- 20:16Speaker 2: every day is the same, and so I just wanted
- 20:19Speaker 2: to write a book kind of about that for kids
- 20:22Speaker 2: that it's okay if it's a show, like as long
- 20:24Speaker 2: as you have each other, everything is going to be okay.
- 20:27Speaker 2: And so there's gonna be a series. Now we're working
- 20:30Speaker 2: on just another perfect Christmas, and then it'll be just
- 20:34Speaker 2: another perfect vacation. But this one is just like everyday life,
- 20:38Speaker 2: like just another perfect day, and just how like the
- 20:40Speaker 2: day starts off perfect, but then how it just like
- 20:42Speaker 2: spirals out of control.
- 20:44Speaker 5: I love it.
- 20:46Speaker 4: I love it, and I need I need I need
- 20:48Speaker 4: that book because I'm listening right now.
- 20:50Speaker 5: Do I show it downstairs?
- 20:52Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 20:52Speaker 5: I love it, just screaming on going, oh my god.
- 20:58Speaker 3: Oh my gosh. That is so cute. Such a good idea.
- 21:01Speaker 1: You know, I always wanted to write a children's book,
- 21:04Speaker 1: and my literary agent was like, Okay, what's your idea.
- 21:07Speaker 3: I'm like, I don't have one. Like, tell me an
- 21:09Speaker 3: idea and then I'll write it. But I don't know
- 21:13Speaker 3: that's a perfect idea.
- 21:15Speaker 2: I wonder if you could write something about like finding
- 21:18Speaker 2: love or about the show. But that's good for.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Kids, Yeah, I mean for sure we could.
- 21:27Speaker 3: I that's so true.
- 21:29Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, like chat GPT, so Max is obviously eighteen,
- 21:33Speaker 1: He's going to be applying to colleges real soon. They
- 21:36Speaker 1: open up like August first, which stresses me out to
- 21:39Speaker 1: no end. But I literally put in chat GBT, this
- 21:43Speaker 1: is my son, this is who he is, this is
- 21:45Speaker 1: his personality, this is his family life, blah blah blah.
- 21:48Speaker 1: Give me ten college essay topics that he can write about.
- 21:52Speaker 1: And it was like, I'm like, okay, people pay tens
- 21:55Speaker 1: of thousands.
- 21:55Speaker 3: Of dollars for this, and literally it was.
- 21:58Speaker 5: Like, that's awesome, crazy, it's it's it is, you know.
- 22:02Speaker 2: Some of it scares me, but at first stamps I
- 22:05Speaker 2: person really scared me. But then I was like, this
- 22:07Speaker 2: is actually like for so long, I feel like we
- 22:09Speaker 2: were doing things the hard way, so hard and the
- 22:12Speaker 2: way the world has gone with how hard families have
- 22:15Speaker 2: to work in order to maintain their life, like the
- 22:19Speaker 2: cost of living and everything. Make it for some of us,
- 22:22Speaker 2: make it us. I'm good, I'm easy for make it.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Somebody helped, Somebody helps each other out, Like I think
- 22:29Speaker 2: this yeah could be maybe yeah, take a little break people.
- 22:32Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm like you, Jillian, like I don't like I
- 22:34Speaker 4: don't like that Alexa listens in, and I don't like
- 22:36Speaker 4: Siri knowing what's up and Canyon loves it.
- 22:39Speaker 5: Can you'll be like.
- 22:40Speaker 4: I was talking about how much I wanted a new
- 22:42Speaker 4: pair of boots, and sirih said, these are the four
- 22:44Speaker 4: that my phone just recently popped up and told me
- 22:45Speaker 4: these four boots are for sale.
- 22:46Speaker 5: I'm like, well, it's going on my Head's Siri.
- 22:49Speaker 3: Gonna pay for those boots?
- 22:51Speaker 2: No, I have no problem. I used to bug me.
- 22:53Speaker 2: I used to bugg me. But if somebody on the
- 22:55Speaker 2: internet could be listening to everything I say and they
- 22:58Speaker 2: can make my life easier because of it, listen, yeah,
- 23:01Speaker 2: like help me with my relationship, my kids, the puppy training,
- 23:05Speaker 2: pee training, I don't know, my my incontinence, Like, I
- 23:08Speaker 2: don't know, give me help me? Why why do I
- 23:12Speaker 2: pee when I walk? When I fart? Like, help me?
- 23:17Speaker 5: Oh my god, that's so funny. Oh, we gotta do
- 23:22Speaker 5: this more often, Jillian Harris.
- 23:23Speaker 1: I mean for real, but before we go, if Justin
- 23:27Speaker 1: comes in, awesome, But I want you to tell everybody
- 23:30Speaker 1: about the Jillybocks.
- 23:32Speaker 2: Oh yes, okay, so before in right, like in twenty sixteen,
- 23:38Speaker 2: when I first started on Instagram, like a lot of
- 23:41Speaker 2: other influencers, I would get sent all these all this
- 23:43Speaker 2: gifting right from all different people. And when I shared
- 23:46Speaker 2: it on my socials, Let's say I got sent something
- 23:49Speaker 2: from like Eve Saint Laurent or something, and I shared,
- 23:52Speaker 2: like I got some new lipstick or perfume or whatever.
- 23:54Speaker 2: You know, people are like, oh cool, Jill's really lucky,
- 23:58Speaker 2: like whatever, but like you think Eve San Laurent really gives.
- 24:01Speaker 2: I shouldn't use them as an example because they still
- 24:03Speaker 2: send me stuff and I really like them. But anyways,
- 24:06Speaker 2: but when I would get stuff gifted from small brands,
- 24:10Speaker 2: women own brands, Canadian own brands, brands that have you know,
- 24:13Speaker 2: historically been marginalized, and I would share, they would lose
- 24:18Speaker 2: their They would be like, you change my life, And
- 24:23Speaker 2: that feeling was so addictive. Like to know that I
- 24:26Speaker 2: could help other families and I could help other small businesses.
- 24:30Speaker 2: I just love that so much. So that became something
- 24:32Speaker 2: that I really love to do. But I couldn't monetize
- 24:35Speaker 2: on that. And not to say you have to monetize
- 24:37Speaker 2: on everything, but my platform is worth something and my
- 24:40Speaker 2: time is worth something. And if I kept on doing that,
- 24:43Speaker 2: I would just be like a billboard. So I was like,
- 24:45Speaker 2: and a lot of these brands wanted to collaborate. They
- 24:47Speaker 2: wanted me to do my own custom products. So I
- 24:51Speaker 2: was like, what if we picked a handful of small
- 24:53Speaker 2: brands and I either picked their favorite product or we
- 24:57Speaker 2: designed an exclusive product and we curated a box and
- 25:00Speaker 2: the box was a surprise and we sold that tour
- 25:03Speaker 2: to the customer. Well, what happened was we were like
- 25:07Speaker 2: so excited about this project, we actually like leaked the
- 25:10Speaker 2: whole idea. We shared the whole idea. We brought our
- 25:12Speaker 2: customer along that. When the box launched, we had five
- 25:17Speaker 2: thousand boxes to sell, but we had a wait list
- 25:20Speaker 2: of over one hundred thousand people. Our websites black, everything crashed.
- 25:24Speaker 2: People waited online to get a box for like twelve hours,
- 25:28Speaker 2: Like people were crying, people finding my phone number, calling
- 25:31Speaker 2: me like like trying to give me money, like thousands
- 25:33Speaker 2: of dollars to get this box. I'm like, what the Like,
- 25:35Speaker 2: I actually didn't realize like how good of an idea
- 25:39Speaker 2: this was. So that was five years ago. We're well
- 25:42Speaker 2: on to our over our fifth year. Now we sell
- 25:44Speaker 2: twenty thousand boxes in one day we do this, and
- 25:47Speaker 2: we do this four times a year, and we completely
- 25:51Speaker 2: sell it one day and we have like donated well
- 25:56Speaker 2: over a million dollars like back into the community, Jill,
- 25:59Speaker 2: and we try to partner with mostly small brands, women
- 26:03Speaker 2: own brands, like brands that like have a good give
- 26:06Speaker 2: back component, be corporate certified, that kind of stuff. So
- 26:11Speaker 2: that's kind of the thing. And now we're just expanding
- 26:13Speaker 2: our marketplace so that some of these brands can't do
- 26:17Speaker 2: twenty thousand units. It's just too many units for a
- 26:19Speaker 2: small brand. So we're bringing their product into our marketplace.
- 26:22Speaker 2: So people who want to shop with values, if they
- 26:25Speaker 2: want to support a small brand, or if they like
- 26:27Speaker 2: you can actually shop buy your values. If you want
- 26:29Speaker 2: like indigenous owned or black owned or vegan, you can
- 26:32Speaker 2: actually shop buy values. And so we're going to expand
- 26:35Speaker 2: that's our big goal this year is to expand in marketplace.
- 26:38Speaker 2: So that's my big baby. I'm super passionate about it
- 26:40Speaker 2: because I don't get to just succeed other people in
- 26:45Speaker 2: my cirket to succeed. And you know right now with
- 26:48Speaker 2: Amazon and Shean and t Moon all that, like a
- 26:51Speaker 2: lot of these small businesses are really really hanging on
- 26:54Speaker 2: and by a thread. And these businesses are the backbone
- 26:57Speaker 2: of our economy. They're the back They're the ones stone
- 27:00Speaker 2: eating to have the hockey teams. They're the ones that
- 27:02Speaker 2: are paying the taxes to clean up the streets. Like,
- 27:05Speaker 2: it's so important to support these small businesses. So that's
- 27:08Speaker 2: my baby, and that's mostly what I do. But then
- 27:11Speaker 2: I do Instagram stuff too.
- 27:13Speaker 5: Love it. I love it.
- 27:14Speaker 4: I love that your your your passion turned into this
- 27:18Speaker 4: thing that's actually helping so many people too.
- 27:20Speaker 2: I love it. It's so funny. That's awesome, like curating
- 27:23Speaker 2: the boxes and designing the items and the photo shoots
- 27:25Speaker 2: and like, oh just it's so so much fun.
- 27:29Speaker 1: I love it so fun.
- 27:31Speaker 5: We love you, Jilly, we do.
- 27:33Speaker 2: We love you me and my multiple personalities.
