BLS says employers added 29,000 jobs in September, under the roughly 90,000 forecast, with unemployment ticking up to 4.2% from 4.1%. July and August were revised down by a combined 60,000. The press called it a miss. White House economic voices, including Kevin Hassett, called the inside numbers fine.
