- Lucas: Hey Luna, welcome back to Learn Spanish with Fexingo. Luna: Hey Lucas! Ready for another episode. You know, I was thinking about our last few episodes — we did numbers, directions, even the gas station. But I feel like we haven't covered something super practical. Lucas: Oh yeah? What's on your mind? Luna: Well, what if you're not feeling well? Like, you're in a Spanish-speaking place and you need to tell a doctor what's wrong. Lucas: Ah, that's a great idea. And you know, if Fexingo has been helping you make progress with this language, we'd love it if you supported the show. We deliberately don't run ads on these episodes. The link is buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo, if that's something you want to do. Luna: Yeah, absolutely. That keeps it clean and focused on learning. Okay, so back to feeling sick — let's learn some phrases. Lucas: Let's start with the most common one: 'Me duele la cabeza.' That means 'My head hurts.' Listen: Me duele la cabeza. Luna: Me duele la cabeza. Lucas: Perfect. 'Duele' comes from the verb 'doler,' which means 'to hurt.' So you can say 'me duele' plus any body part. For example: 'Me duele el estómago' — my stomach hurts. Luna: Me duele el estómago. That's useful. Lucas: Another key one: 'Tengo fiebre.' That means 'I have a fever.' Try it: Tengo fiebre. Luna: Tengo fiebre. Lucas: Good. 'Tengo' is 'I have,' and 'fiebre' is 'fever.' So if you feel hot, that's the phrase. Luna: And what if I just feel generally unwell? Lucas: Then say 'Me siento mal.' That means 'I feel sick' or 'I feel bad.' Listen: Me siento mal. Luna: Me siento mal. Lucas: Another common symptom is a cough. 'Tengo tos' — I have a cough. Try: Tengo tos. Luna: Tengo tos. Lucas: And the doctor will probably ask you: '¿Qué le duele?' — What hurts? Or literally, 'What hurts you?' Let me say it: ¿Qué le duele? Luna: ¿Qué le duele? Lucas: So if a doctor asks you that, you can say 'Me duele la cabeza' or 'Me duele el estómago.' Let's do a quick role-play. I'll be the doctor, you be the patient. Luna: Okay, go ahead. Lucas: ¿Qué le duele? Luna: Me duele la cabeza. Y tengo fiebre. Lucas: Muy bien. And you could also say 'Me siento mal' if you want to add that. Luna: Me siento mal. Lucas: Excellent. Let's review all five phrases one more time. Repeat after me: Me duele la cabeza. Luna: Me duele la cabeza. Lucas: Tengo fiebre. Luna: Tengo fiebre. Lucas: Me siento mal. Luna: Me siento mal. Lucas: Tengo tos. Luna: Tengo tos. Lucas: ¿Qué le duele? Luna: ¿Qué le duele? Lucas: And that's it for today. Practice these phrases so you're ready if you ever need to visit a doctor in Spanish. Luna: Thanks, Lucas! And remember, if you want to support ad-free learning, check out buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. See you next time! Lucas: See you next time, everyone. Keep practicing!
