- 0:01None of us really enjoy being told what to do. Whether it's an emotion
- 0:05inside of us or it's a person outside of us, but none of us
- 0:08enjoy being told what to do. We're convinced or speaking for me, I'm
- 0:11convinced, but I bet you're convinced, and I know that you're convinced that
- 0:14once I can call my own shots, I'll call all the right shots.
- 0:19I mean, if I had that kind of money, that kind of margin,
- 0:21that kind of autonomy, if I had that kind of freedom, I
- 0:23would be so careful. I would not have done what they did. I
- 0:26wouldn't do what she did. I wouldn't do what they did. I wouldn't
- 0:28do what he did because I would protect that autonomy. And maybe that's true.
- 0:33Maybe that's true, but for that to be true, there is something
- 0:36you must do. So I to kind of get us started in this series,
- 0:40I wrote a little poem as it relates to not having anybody tell us
- 0:43what to do. Our need of supervision may someday come to an end if
- 0:47we silence the toxic voices that come from within. Thank you, thank you,
- 0:55thank you. Okay, yeah, here's the negative version, just to
- 0:58make sure you know where we're going Our need of supervision will never come to
- 1:03an end until we silence the toxic voices that come from within. Because the
- 1:08truth is, for all of us, we don't get in trouble because we
- 1:12won't take advice. Most of the time. We get in trouble because we
- 1:17take our own advice. We're going to discover together how much easier it can
- 1:22be to identify that bad advice that comes from within all of us.
