- 0:01Speaker 1: Because you, That's why. Is a founding member of the
- 0:03Speaker 1: Odd Pods Media Network.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Kah, hello and welcome to b F Y t W
- 0:40Speaker 2: Comic Con recap.
- 0:43Speaker 3: Oh my god, ah yes, and uh we did not
- 0:50Speaker 3: go to comic Con.
- 0:52Speaker 4: I was like, I smoked so much weed I didn't
- 0:54Speaker 4: realize with a comic con and.
- 0:57Speaker 5: I miss the whole thing of it, missed the whole thing.
- 1:01Speaker 3: It was wild. Robbie, Robert Towney Junior, ship your hand man.
- 1:08Speaker 6: Some great questions at the Kevin Smith Panels.
- 1:10Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, you love the four thirty movie trailer.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Oh did we record it?
- 1:17Speaker 6: Please?
- 1:18Speaker 3: Everybody recorded and told them to do it. So yeah.
- 1:23Speaker 3: So Fortunately we have a couple of people who can
- 1:26Speaker 3: testify with us today is John and Gina from The
- 1:30Speaker 3: Fink Show. Hi, guys, good, good morning on this awful
- 1:37Speaker 3: Sunday morning, but tempered by a good company and some
- 1:43Speaker 3: great Timmy hoes. Uh I'm feeling good now now.
- 1:55Speaker 7: He's referring to Steve. Yeah, the biggest Timmy.
- 2:03Speaker 1: No, this gotchail pretty quick.
- 2:09Speaker 3: I knew it wasn't gonna take long rest to get
- 2:10Speaker 3: off the rail. Here we are, here, we are, Hi, guys.
- 2:15Speaker 3: It's so lovely to see you again, uh so quickly
- 2:18Speaker 3: after the last time too.
- 2:20Speaker 6: I know you.
- 2:22Speaker 3: No, not by a long shots, not by a long shot, sir.
- 2:28Speaker 3: So yeah. So the first part of the show we're
- 2:29Speaker 3: just gonna dedicate to talking about your experience. Like I've
- 2:33Speaker 3: never been to an actual comic co Like I've been
- 2:36Speaker 3: to conventions, sure, but I've never actually been to any
- 2:39Speaker 3: comic con that New York City Comic Con or San
- 2:42Speaker 3: Diego Comic Con, none of them. So I just want
- 2:46Speaker 3: you to just tell me, like, what's it like, Like
- 2:49Speaker 3: what was what's your story as it were?
- 2:52Speaker 6: Well, Gina, this was your first comic con in San Diego.
- 2:56Speaker 6: We've done wonder Con before. What what was your sort
- 3:00Speaker 6: of takeaway I've done. This was my like fifteenth or sixteenth.
- 3:03Speaker 8: So wow, it's so overwhelming, it's so much. I didn't
- 3:10Speaker 8: get to all of it by a long shot.
- 3:12Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 3:13Speaker 9: And you make a plan and the plan goes bloe bye.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:18Speaker 8: Yeah, You're like, oh, I guess all right, we're doing
- 3:21Speaker 8: something else now, or we're not buying that thing now.
- 3:25Speaker 9: Yeah, And the show floor is.
- 3:27Speaker 8: So huge it's like you should just buy the thing
- 3:31Speaker 8: you're looking at because you won't get back around to it,
- 3:33Speaker 8: and if you do, you won't remember where it's at.
- 3:37Speaker 1: That makes sense, actually, I get that.
- 3:41Speaker 6: This is really true. There's no matter how much you
- 3:45Speaker 6: do and see at comic Con, you are guaranteed to
- 3:49Speaker 6: find something after comic Con on social media or the
- 3:54Speaker 6: news or whatever. That's like, oh man, I missed that right,
- 4:00Speaker 6: It's it's inevitable. So you just have to kind of
- 4:04Speaker 6: make peace with the fact that you have your plans A, B, C,
- 4:07Speaker 6: and D, and if you hit one of them then
- 4:11Speaker 6: you're winning. Yeah.
- 4:12Speaker 3: You literally can't see everything now.
- 4:15Speaker 6: And I think that's the general.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Rule for a lot of cons, but I mean especially
- 4:18Speaker 3: for one as big as as SDCC.
- 4:21Speaker 4: Well, yeah, when you have like the halls and there's
- 4:23Speaker 4: a limit too. Yeah, and the limits never what the
- 4:26Speaker 4: attendee number is, never will be.
- 4:29Speaker 3: I remember I remember going to u Miccon and you
- 4:31Speaker 3: mccon is practically tiny compared to Comic Con. Yeah, and
- 4:34Speaker 3: I felt overwhelmed walking in there. Yeah, it was. It was.
- 4:39Speaker 3: It was a lot of people and it was a
- 4:40Speaker 3: lot of it was a lot of stuff to do. Still,
- 4:43Speaker 3: we got to do a lot of cool stuff.
- 4:44Speaker 1: So but you never get it all, and I couldn't.
- 4:48Speaker 6: You got to let that expectation go, right, So what
- 4:52Speaker 6: cool stuff did you get to do?
- 4:55Speaker 4: Or actually, you guys got special admittance INJA, so.
- 4:59Speaker 6: The well I did. This was the first time that
- 5:04Speaker 6: I was able to attend with press credentials, so I
- 5:09Speaker 6: was able to get in, like get in before all
- 5:12Speaker 6: the regulars and walk the floor and actually have elbow room.
- 5:18Speaker 6: But the trade off of that is that you're dodging
- 5:20Speaker 6: forklifts full of like cardboard boxes and booth set up stuff,
- 5:25Speaker 6: so you got to really watch out. But so I
- 5:30Speaker 6: was reporting for iHeart with you know, live reports and
- 5:35Speaker 6: doing interviews and stuff all like Thursday and Friday. That
- 5:39Speaker 6: was sort of the thing, so I got to see
- 5:42Speaker 6: some kind of extra stuff. Honestly, the weirdest thing for me,
- 5:45Speaker 6: having gone as much as I did is seeing the
- 5:49Speaker 6: exhibit floor in the exhibit hall open, because I had
- 5:53Speaker 6: never seen that before, so that was really special just
- 5:57Speaker 6: to see, you know, aside from the actual things that
- 6:00Speaker 6: I saw. And then I was able to participate in
- 6:05Speaker 6: some roundtable interviews and meet some you know, voiceover and
- 6:12Speaker 6: cartoon voice heroes and some on camera people, which was
- 6:16Speaker 6: really really cool. And I've been kind of posting some
- 6:21Speaker 6: of those interviews. The audio from them isn't super great.
- 6:25Speaker 6: It's kind of loud because they were doing you know
- 6:28Speaker 6: when you see like like on camera interviews and they
- 6:32Speaker 6: have the big background and sort of what they call
- 6:34Speaker 6: the step and repeat. Yeah, there's that going right next
- 6:38Speaker 6: to these roundtable interviews. So there's a lot of chatting
- 6:42Speaker 6: going on essentially. Yeah. Yeah, So I got to see
- 6:49Speaker 6: they were advertising something called you Guys Know Me TV.
- 6:54Speaker 6: It's like it's like the old it has like old
- 6:57Speaker 6: seventies like sitcoms and detect to shows and stuff. They're
- 7:01Speaker 6: launching a new channel called Me TV Tunes, which is,
- 7:05Speaker 6: in my opinion at least the spiritual successor to Boomerang,
- 7:09Speaker 6: which is like all the Looney Tunes stuff and Scooby Doo.
- 7:12Speaker 6: And they're going to do a thing called Cartoon College
- 7:17Speaker 6: where they kind of it's almost like what you see
- 7:20Speaker 6: at the beginning of like a Turner classic movie, where
- 7:22Speaker 6: they set up these cartoons and give you a little background.
- 7:26Speaker 6: And then the cool thing with that is I was
- 7:28Speaker 6: able to interview some of the people that do the
- 7:30Speaker 6: current voices for Bugs, Bunny, Porky Pig, Daffy Duck, Dexter,
- 7:35Speaker 6: from Dexter's Lab, all of these people, and I got
- 7:40Speaker 6: to sort of sit in a you know, appropriately enough
- 7:43Speaker 6: a round table and you know ask them, you know,
- 7:49Speaker 6: cool questions and stuff. And so that was really awesome
- 7:54Speaker 6: meeting Bob Bergen and Milo and people like that were
- 8:03Speaker 6: it was just awesome. That was a really cool and
- 8:05Speaker 6: unique experience.
- 8:07Speaker 3: Wow, that's awesome.
- 8:11Speaker 6: Yeah, any of those people, that's all right there. I mean,
- 8:17Speaker 6: Candy Milo is Space Yeah, you know their voices, like
- 8:20Speaker 6: if you've seen Space Jam, she's the voice of Granny.
- 8:25Speaker 6: She was also the voice of Dexter from Dexter's Lab.
- 8:29Speaker 6: If you've watched Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, she's the
- 8:34Speaker 6: voice of like Cheese and Cocoa and a bunch of
- 8:37Speaker 6: other people on that show. Bob Bergen is the voice
- 8:40Speaker 6: of Porky Pig and Tweety Bird, and he's been there
- 8:43Speaker 6: those voices for a long long time. So all of
- 8:48Speaker 6: those people, it was really awesome to talk with them
- 8:52Speaker 6: and you know, have a little bit of a conversation
- 8:54Speaker 6: with them. And honestly, that's my thing at com con.
- 8:57Speaker 6: Everybody's comic Con San Diego means something a little different
- 9:00Speaker 6: to them. I've got friends that show up and basically
- 9:05Speaker 6: dig through the actual comic book creates. Yes, they do
- 9:08Speaker 6: still sell comics. I know it's going to blow your mind,
- 9:15Speaker 6: but they they kind of relegate them all to the
- 9:17Speaker 6: edges and stuff. But I have a guy that's an
- 9:20Speaker 6: expert and he goes in and he's like, oh, here's
- 9:23Speaker 6: that super rare one goes to the booth next door,
- 9:26Speaker 6: has it graded, sells it, and pays for his entire trip. Yeah.
- 9:34Speaker 6: And then there's people that do that same thing with exclusives,
- 9:36Speaker 6: Like there's exclusive toys and stuff, and sometimes you can
- 9:40Speaker 6: get them autographed by you know, Todd McFarlane or one
- 9:44Speaker 6: of the voice actors for that, and then you can
- 9:47Speaker 6: just flip that onto eBay and then you will, you know,
- 9:51Speaker 6: sometimes pay for your trip so.
- 9:55Speaker 9: Or you could keep it and appreciate.
- 9:57Speaker 6: It, right, That would be my recommend the truth, because
- 10:00Speaker 6: I think a lot of times those people signing those
- 10:02Speaker 6: things don't really love when people do that.
- 10:04Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 10:05Speaker 3: Thanks.
- 10:06Speaker 9: I think that's how they tracked up the raid on
- 10:08Speaker 9: funkal pops signing those yeah.
- 10:11Speaker 6: Yeah. And then I know, like people like Mark Hamill
- 10:15Speaker 6: will not sign anything unless he makes it personalized, like
- 10:19Speaker 6: he won't just put his signature on stuff for that
- 10:21Speaker 6: very reason.
- 10:21Speaker 10: That's smart though, smart Yeah, because that is kinda.
- 10:27Speaker 1: If I want you get it.
- 10:28Speaker 6: But yeah, yeah, it's not like I'm seeing you as
- 10:32Speaker 6: the actor. Yeah, I'm not seeing you as the actor, performer, creator, whatever.
- 10:37Speaker 6: I'm seeing you as a business opportunity, which is not
- 10:41Speaker 6: I don't think it's fair to that person.
- 10:44Speaker 3: Yeah, well darn yeah. But you know, Mark Hamill signed
- 10:53Speaker 3: my Star Wars hockey Jersey.
- 10:55Speaker 1: What you're doing, that's awesome.
- 10:59Speaker 3: I wish he did. My plans are ruined.
- 11:04Speaker 9: You'll just personalize it.
- 11:07Speaker 7: That's you could just only sell it to someone named
- 11:09Speaker 7: Aaron or Pancil somebody.
- 11:15Speaker 6: Well, as are most of the people on the internet.
- 11:18Speaker 3: But yeah, so you got to see you got to
- 11:21Speaker 3: see some cool people. I saw some interesting pictures on Facebook.
- 11:26Speaker 3: Uh and uh yeah, no, I'm very curious to hear
- 11:30Speaker 3: about your your run in with some very famous faces.
- 11:36Speaker 3: The one that caught my eye, probably most particularly was
- 11:39Speaker 3: Chris Hardwick.
- 11:41Speaker 6: Oh yes, uh so that one was really an amazing experience.
- 11:47Speaker 6: We were we had tickets to go see him do
- 11:50Speaker 6: stand up because he usually comes to San Diego Comic
- 11:53Speaker 6: Con to do you know, like three or four stand
- 11:56Speaker 6: up sets, and so we got tickets, and I coordated
- 12:01Speaker 6: with Gina to get tickets as well. And and then
- 12:04Speaker 6: as I was kind of doing the com con stuff.
- 12:06Speaker 6: All credit to Gina, she ran up to a bunch
- 12:09Speaker 6: of my friends and were like, hey, you guys should
- 12:12Speaker 6: come with us. And it was Fred Tatashore, who's the
- 12:15Speaker 6: voice of the whole Yosemity Sam and all this other stuff,
- 12:18Speaker 6: and Eliza Jane Schneider, who for about six or seven
- 12:22Speaker 6: years was all the female voices on South Park. I
- 12:26Speaker 6: don't know if you guys remember Beakman's World back.
- 12:29Speaker 3: In the day.
- 12:30Speaker 6: Wow, she's she's one of the Eliza. Yeah, so there
- 12:36Speaker 6: were a lot of little I think she was the
- 12:39Speaker 6: first one or the middle one. I can't remember, but
- 12:43Speaker 6: you know, she's a dear friend. I've taken lots of
- 12:45Speaker 6: voiceover classes. Both Fred and Eliza were also massage clients
- 12:49Speaker 6: back in the day when I was doing massage.
- 12:51Speaker 9: Super friendly.
- 12:53Speaker 6: Yeah, just total sweethearts. So they joined us. We watched
- 12:58Speaker 6: the we watched the set. My brother kind of got
- 13:02Speaker 6: woven into the stand up set because he was talking
- 13:04Speaker 6: about people having kids and I'm going to be an
- 13:07Speaker 6: uncle in October and.
- 13:09Speaker 9: So yeah, thank you Gena.
- 13:13Speaker 3: Some of us I'm just trying to I'm just trying
- 13:19Speaker 3: to my aunt.
- 13:23Speaker 6: Friends on the day of the week, that's right. So
- 13:29Speaker 6: after the show, they were starting to like show us
- 13:32Speaker 6: all out, and so we saw other people like gathering
- 13:35Speaker 6: around him because he jumped down off the stage and
- 13:37Speaker 6: was doing selfies and stuff, and so Fred Tattershore ran
- 13:42Speaker 6: up to Chris and he's like, oh my god, it's you.
- 13:44Speaker 6: Because they actually went to u c l A together
- 13:47Speaker 6: and so they did a lot of cool like stand
- 13:51Speaker 6: up bits and fleshing out of bits and kind of
- 13:54Speaker 6: working on their stuff, and so the group of us
- 13:57Speaker 6: were kind of talking and then he was like, you know, well,
- 14:00Speaker 6: come on back. Oh, I suppose I should give some background.
- 14:04Speaker 6: Nine years ago in the middle of Chris Hardwicke set
- 14:08Speaker 6: at the Balbo Theater. He was like, oh, I'll take
- 14:12Speaker 6: some questions. And Bubbo Theater holds I think like two
- 14:17Speaker 6: thousand people maybe more, and I don't know what possessed me.
- 14:22Speaker 6: I was in the third row and I raised my
- 14:25Speaker 6: hand and I was like, can I have a hug?
- 14:27Speaker 6: And he's like, yeah, sure, you can have a hug.
- 14:29Speaker 6: And dear listener, if you don't know, I'm six foot ten.
- 14:33Speaker 6: And also it's very hard to tell that I'm six
- 14:36Speaker 6: foot ten when I'm sitting in a chair.
- 14:39Speaker 3: So and Chris is not the man.
- 14:44Speaker 6: No, he's like maybe six one and so so.
- 14:52Speaker 3: I was standing right next to him. At best eight, I.
- 14:56Speaker 6: Could be that could very well be. So I stand
- 15:02Speaker 6: up and the entire crowd goes woo, and he like
- 15:07Speaker 6: cowers and he's like, Jesus, you're huge. So I come
- 15:10Speaker 6: and give him a hug, and he's like, man, you're
- 15:13Speaker 6: so huge. I could ride you like a horse. So
- 15:15Speaker 6: I was like, I was like, improv, brain activate, and
- 15:19Speaker 6: so I turned around and he jumps on my back
- 15:21Speaker 6: and I give him a running piggyback ride up and
- 15:24Speaker 6: around the theater. The entire crowd just goes like absolutely
- 15:29Speaker 6: ape shit. And so it was it was a like
- 15:34Speaker 6: a life defining moment for me. It kind of like
- 15:36Speaker 6: broke my brain in a good way. And so it
- 15:41Speaker 6: got me like thinking about like, oh, maybe I should
- 15:44Speaker 6: do radio and do my own show and have some
- 15:46Speaker 6: fun stuff like that. And so I've seen him a
- 15:50Speaker 6: couple of times do stand up since, and he remembers me,
- 15:54Speaker 6: and so this time when we went and he had
- 15:58Speaker 6: us go backstage, I recreated the piggyback ride and had
- 16:02Speaker 6: him jump on my back and he's like, he was like,
- 16:06Speaker 6: I don't have a lightsaber this time because the first
- 16:08Speaker 6: time he was holding a lightsabers. That's fantastic, and I
- 16:19Speaker 6: do I do smell better on the inside.
- 16:21Speaker 1: It's all that vegan food, all.
- 16:26Speaker 6: That all that chicken. So yeah, we recreated that, and
- 16:34Speaker 6: then you know, those guys hung out for a bit
- 16:37Speaker 6: and it was a really cool time. So that was awesome.
- 16:41Speaker 3: Wow.
- 16:42Speaker 6: And that's the magic of comic Con is that these
- 16:44Speaker 6: people that you normally think of that are so like
- 16:48Speaker 6: heavily siloed up in some sort of Hollywood shangri la,
- 16:51Speaker 6: they want to like hang out with us and like
- 16:53Speaker 6: hear what we have to say and like interact with us.
- 16:56Speaker 6: And so that's what I really really love about comic Con.
- 16:59Speaker 6: That's that's the magic that I really go for and
- 17:01Speaker 6: I keep coming back to.
- 17:03Speaker 3: Yeah, that's so cool.
- 17:05Speaker 8: That was my first time going backstage and that little
- 17:08Speaker 8: green room was tiny.
- 17:10Speaker 6: Yeah, it was. It was very cozy.
- 17:13Speaker 4: Did you try to grab as many free things as
- 17:14Speaker 4: you could when you are in the green room.
- 17:16Speaker 8: Free things, But there wasn't I told you up in
- 17:21Speaker 8: front of the television.
- 17:22Speaker 6: Not yes, they're already those were not free. I can tell.
- 17:27Speaker 3: You they do not belong to you. Stevie how many times?
- 17:30Speaker 9: Also, Aaron nailed it. He's five nine.
- 17:32Speaker 8: I just looked at him very Aaron points points.
- 17:41Speaker 3: Just like Chris Hard points the lat midnight joke.
- 17:46Speaker 9: I did ask him about after midnight.
- 17:48Speaker 8: I said, are they snubbing you or and he goes, no, no, no,
- 17:51Speaker 8: I just never get to l A but I will
- 17:53Speaker 8: be on.
- 17:53Speaker 3: I was like, yes, oh cool, that would be super cool.
- 17:57Speaker 6: That would make me so happy.
- 17:58Speaker 3: So, Gina, huh, if you wouldn't mind, because I know
- 18:02Speaker 3: you were there, tell me about Kevin Smith's panel.
- 18:07Speaker 8: Yes, we ended our Saturday evening with that in Hall
- 18:11Speaker 8: h That was my first time in hall Age.
- 18:13Speaker 3: Hell yeah.
- 18:13Speaker 9: It holds like sixty five hundred people.
- 18:17Speaker 8: We got way towards the front thanks to our buddy Dead.
- 18:23Speaker 9: Army as well.
- 18:24Speaker 8: And there's like there's bathrooms in hall Age, so you
- 18:28Speaker 8: can kind of just camp out there and just see
- 18:31Speaker 8: stuff all day. But right before us was the Marvel
- 18:34Speaker 8: panel with the RDJ reveal.
- 18:36Speaker 9: Oh god, so We were.
- 18:39Speaker 8: In line and they're like, no one's getting in for Marvel,
- 18:42Speaker 8: and I'm like, isn't it almost over?
- 18:43Speaker 9: That's not what we're here for. So we go in
- 18:47Speaker 9: and like what did they let us in?
- 18:50Speaker 8: And started it within like less than ten minutes. I
- 18:53Speaker 8: was impressed by that. Yeah, they had They're just like
- 18:56Speaker 8: boom starting and people.
- 18:57Speaker 3: Were oiled machine.
- 19:00Speaker 9: And he came out and it was like he gave
- 19:04Speaker 9: I don't know.
- 19:05Speaker 8: He talked about his mental health crisis, and he showed
- 19:08Speaker 8: us the trailer for the new movie, and then he
- 19:10Speaker 8: did his style of Q and A, which is fantastic.
- 19:14Speaker 8: He kept calling everyone captain, Hey, captain, what's your name?
- 19:20Speaker 1: Does he think he's on again or something?
- 19:25Speaker 6: He was on the enough he got into his vernacular,
- 19:29Speaker 6: into it now, still got his sea legs.
- 19:32Speaker 8: Yes, you know, I've seen him at Hollywood, Babylon, but
- 19:36Speaker 8: this is this is like a different.
- 19:38Speaker 9: Side of him.
- 19:38Speaker 8: Like he's so sweet to his fans and like they'll
- 19:41Speaker 8: give him a compliment and he seems to like really
- 19:43Speaker 8: take it to heart and like it's like he wants
- 19:45Speaker 8: to cry, like he's so emotional.
- 19:48Speaker 9: What did you think, John?
- 19:51Speaker 6: I loved it. I had never you know that's a
- 19:53Speaker 6: that's a common contraditionist to have have sort of back
- 19:58Speaker 6: clean up on Saturdays, like he normally does finish out,
- 20:03Speaker 6: and he's the last panel on Saturdays, and so normally
- 20:09Speaker 6: I am by that point because I do all four days,
- 20:13Speaker 6: I am wiped the hell out.
- 20:17Speaker 9: Seven at night. Yeah that's late for you.
- 20:19Speaker 6: Yeah, seven thirty at night too, which is late for me.
- 20:21Speaker 9: I guess you're just happy to sit down at that point.
- 20:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:25Speaker 6: And it's it's very much like the peak of like
- 20:29Speaker 6: heat and humidity in San Diego, so you're cooking out
- 20:32Speaker 6: there anyway. So to be in dark, air conditioned like oh.
- 20:36Speaker 8: Yeah, the line is outside, Yeah yeah, the line to
- 20:39Speaker 8: get in is outside, So all of that is a lot.
- 20:44Speaker 6: So to be able to come in and sit down
- 20:46Speaker 6: as pretty magical. And so it was. It was awesome.
- 20:51Speaker 6: I loved being there for that. I had never done
- 20:53Speaker 6: it before. And do it again, yeah, I would go
- 20:59Speaker 6: for that again. I would do what I did this time,
- 21:01Speaker 6: which was, you know, come home and have a little
- 21:03Speaker 6: nappy poo in the middle of the day and then
- 21:07Speaker 6: kind of brito in a nap. It's magic does wonders
- 21:12Speaker 6: for the soul, and so that's what is.
- 21:16Speaker 9: At forty and forty up.
- 21:19Speaker 6: Oh, at any age. Honestly, it doesn't matter how good
- 21:23Speaker 6: of shape you are in. You could be an ultra runner.
- 21:26Speaker 6: Comic con will break you, yeah, yeah, must break you. Yeah.
- 21:33Speaker 6: Like walking that show floor that is not carpeted. You're
- 21:36Speaker 6: walking on concrete and it's very slow paced walking because
- 21:40Speaker 6: it's almost like Disneyland line shuffling.
- 21:45Speaker 9: But then you're go.
- 21:46Speaker 8: Into like Lego's booth and it's like plush like carpet
- 21:49Speaker 8: with like stuff underneath it, and you're like.
- 21:51Speaker 11: I don't want to leave here, yeah, Or you just
- 21:56Speaker 11: walk through like up in the panel room area, if
- 21:59Speaker 11: you like, through a specific doorway and there's that like
- 22:03Speaker 11: just icy downvent and you're just like, oh.
- 22:07Speaker 6: Oh god, I'm never leaving, and so you just stand
- 22:11Speaker 6: in the door like sir, you need to keep moving.
- 22:12Speaker 6: I'm like, oh, I'm so sorry. There's a lot.
- 22:16Speaker 8: I mean, you get Nerd Funk easy because you just
- 22:18Speaker 8: are a ball sweat.
- 22:20Speaker 6: Yeah, you just have to kind of resolve yourself to
- 22:23Speaker 6: being sweaty. And that's honestly the power of having you know,
- 22:28Speaker 6: some of those more expensive hotel rooms right next to
- 22:31Speaker 6: the convention center is. Those people have it great because
- 22:34Speaker 6: they can walk back very easily to their hotel room,
- 22:38Speaker 6: shower off, change clothes, come back. For people that are
- 22:43Speaker 6: like you know, like with Gina and Matt, they have
- 22:46Speaker 6: to you know, drive in a ways, they have to
- 22:48Speaker 6: worry about parking, they have to walk walk over, yeah,
- 22:52Speaker 6: or either that or you're taking the trolley in which
- 22:54Speaker 6: drops you right in front of it. But then you're
- 22:56Speaker 6: just packed like a can of sardines. And that's also
- 23:00Speaker 6: not only time but expense. So that's a tough one.
- 23:06Speaker 6: It adds up one and.
- 23:08Speaker 9: Thirty five thousand people that went, yep.
- 23:10Speaker 6: One hundred and thirty five thousand people. It's a huge
- 23:14Speaker 6: get for the city. You know, this is with the
- 23:16Speaker 6: fifty fifth one here in San Diego. It brings in
- 23:19Speaker 6: a huge amount of revenue the city. Right, they better just.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Talk about them losing it, No, they won't.
- 23:25Speaker 4: The money alone is insane. They did the same thing
- 23:28Speaker 4: with the Olma con in Detroit. Like there was a
- 23:30Speaker 4: year they weren't going to do it in the city.
- 23:31Speaker 4: Kept getting a hold of Morgan, the guy who ran its.
- 23:34Speaker 1: I was agreed.
- 23:35Speaker 4: Bart was always in contact basically.
- 23:37Speaker 1: Like please do the conse.
- 23:38Speaker 8: Because it brings into economic boost and Detroit music, So.
- 23:42Speaker 1: I can understand, but very much. So like that's a
- 23:44Speaker 1: lot of money.
- 23:46Speaker 6: Yeah, the city gets about one hundred and sixty one
- 23:50Speaker 6: million dollars in revenue for that con alone, for that conventional.
- 23:54Speaker 6: It's the biggest and most profitable conventional.
- 23:57Speaker 10: No reason not to do it.
- 24:00Speaker 8: He caught a bunch of sex traffickers this year, so
- 24:02Speaker 8: good for you, good good, Yes.
- 24:06Speaker 6: Yeah they did. They caught fourteen people. At least one
- 24:09Speaker 6: of them was like fifteen or sixteen years old.
- 24:14Speaker 3: Wow jesus.
- 24:15Speaker 6: Yeah. And in fact, just off subject side note, I
- 24:19Speaker 6: got to interview someone on Friday who is part of
- 24:23Speaker 6: what's called the Businesses Ending Slavery and Trafficking and they
- 24:28Speaker 6: are actually a national company that yeah, yeah, they really
- 24:32Speaker 6: are the best, thank you. So yeah, they actually educate
- 24:37Speaker 6: hotels and businesses to detect human trafficking and they give
- 24:42Speaker 6: trafficking survivors jobs. It's a really great organization and so
- 24:47Speaker 6: if you're interested, Best Alliance dot Org I like to
- 24:51Speaker 6: give them a shout out.
- 24:52Speaker 10: Yeah, yeah, that's awesome. I'm glad that they were able
- 24:58Speaker 10: to find it's people.
- 25:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:00Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 25:01Speaker 8: The rest of Comic Con is there was four different
- 25:05Speaker 8: companies doing security. There's people in blue, yellow, black, and
- 25:10Speaker 8: what was the other one? Green, red, red, and they
- 25:14Speaker 8: weren't talking.
- 25:16Speaker 9: To each other.
- 25:17Speaker 6: Yeah, so there were She had a.
- 25:18Speaker 8: Friend trying to get into Kevin Smith and she was
- 25:22Speaker 8: said she got redirected four times, so she gave up.
- 25:26Speaker 8: But it wasn't even it was only two thirds full.
- 25:28Speaker 8: She easily could have come in, So we don't know
- 25:31Speaker 8: why they did that to her.
- 25:33Speaker 6: Well, and there was a big, huge failure with the
- 25:35Speaker 6: Deadpool Wolverine panel because for the first time in Comic
- 25:39Speaker 6: CON's history, they cleared out haul h completely from everybody
- 25:43Speaker 6: hanging out before. And then you know, had these people
- 25:46Speaker 6: that had one an online lottery to get into that one.
- 25:51Speaker 6: And so first failure was they have these big tent
- 25:57Speaker 6: shoots for everybody to kind of snake their line through.
- 26:00Speaker 6: Those were empty and people were out just cooking on
- 26:03Speaker 6: the sidewalk, So hooray for that. And then people that
- 26:07Speaker 6: actually won the lottery, they gave out too many tickets
- 26:12Speaker 6: and so they people that won the lottery and waited
- 26:16Speaker 6: sometimes ten twelve hours just for that panel did not
- 26:21Speaker 6: get in.
- 26:22Speaker 8: Oh my god, that's they make damn sure to yell
- 26:27Speaker 8: at you though, if you're in a doorway.
- 26:29Speaker 6: Oh boy. Well, And honestly, that lends to my strategy
- 26:35Speaker 6: with comic con, which is I try and find the smallest,
- 26:39Speaker 6: most esoteric thing that still brings me joy to go see,
- 26:42Speaker 6: because it's going to have less mismanagement. You're going to
- 26:45Speaker 6: be waiting in line less. My success at a especially
- 26:48Speaker 6: San Diego comic Con is total time waiting in line.
- 26:52Speaker 6: If it's less than like one or two hours, that's
- 26:55Speaker 6: a win for me. Like I refuse to because all
- 26:58Speaker 6: that stuff, honestly, I mean aside from the Deadpool Wolverine movie,
- 27:02Speaker 6: which they were able to see in that panel, like
- 27:04Speaker 6: all the rest of the stuff is online within hours.
- 27:08Speaker 6: Like the Robert Downey Junior thing with Marvel was on
- 27:10Speaker 6: IGN before we were done with the Kevin Smith panel
- 27:14Speaker 6: which came out, which was right after that panel.
- 27:18Speaker 9: Would we wait for Kevin Smith like forty five minutes?
- 27:20Speaker 9: It was, yeah, just wait for Marvel then I.
- 27:24Speaker 4: Think an hour. I wouldn't want to wait more than
- 27:26Speaker 4: an hour. I don't like fun all these people.
- 27:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I can't do it.
- 27:30Speaker 12: I can't.
- 27:30Speaker 1: I get my.
- 27:32Speaker 6: It's very people. Yeah, it's it's the most peoply thing
- 27:36Speaker 6: I do. But I will say as far as a
- 27:39Speaker 6: general crowd, not everybody, but in general, the people that
- 27:43Speaker 6: go to comic Con, they're all introverts, and they're all
- 27:46Speaker 6: very polite and they're kind. So if somebody bumps in,
- 27:50Speaker 6: oh I'm so sorry, Oh you dropped this thing, let
- 27:52Speaker 6: me get it for you. More often than not people
- 27:55Speaker 6: are very nice. I know Ginagut whacked in the face
- 27:57Speaker 6: a few times. Just well.
- 28:00Speaker 1: They have the Biggs's bag with backpack straps, like a
- 28:08Speaker 1: portable shopping bag.
- 28:10Speaker 6: It's like wider than anybody's shoulders, and so you're like
- 28:13Speaker 6: walking along and unfortunately for Gena's height, it's like.
- 28:17Speaker 9: All the time I was getting taken and like moved
- 28:20Speaker 9: down the lane.
- 28:21Speaker 1: I was like, hey, hey, hey, somebody picks you up
- 28:23Speaker 1: and just moves you.
- 28:25Speaker 9: They were just like the way they kept going, and
- 28:27Speaker 9: I was like talking to an artist, like, yeah.
- 28:34Speaker 3: It sounds like you guys had an absolutely fantastic time.
- 28:38Speaker 3: And I am genuinely quite jealous.
- 28:40Speaker 1: Right except for the people part.
- 28:43Speaker 3: Except for the people part. The people I could people
- 28:48Speaker 3: so much better with nobody else just walk around.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Around like you get a whole day to yourself.
- 28:58Speaker 4: It's just you and your friends, and then all the
- 29:00Speaker 4: nobody else. Okay, date to everybody else is allowed here.
- 29:04Speaker 6: All right.
- 29:05Speaker 3: Well, when we come back, we're gonna play some games
- 29:08Speaker 3: related to Comic Con and have some extra Comic Con
- 29:11Speaker 3: fun and we're gonna see if we can get a
- 29:15Speaker 3: winner and a loser when we come back.
- 29:18Speaker 13: Right after this, interrupt this program to bring you a newsplash.
- 29:30Speaker 14: Michael Jackson's ghost scene at a Yankees game.
- 29:34Speaker 6: Cinnamon Toast Crunch now with a shrimp in every bite.
- 29:38Speaker 14: Litl Uzi Vert's Head Diamond has been sold on the
- 29:41Speaker 14: dark Web.
- 29:43Speaker 7: Stories like this and more can be found at the
- 29:46Speaker 7: ever Trending Story, a podcast where we peruse the news
- 29:49Speaker 7: and write a fun fictional story for you.
- 29:52Speaker 14: Find us wherever you download podcasts and follow us on
- 29:55Speaker 14: the socials at ever Trending pod. And we are proud
- 29:58Speaker 14: members of the odd Pot Odds Media Network.
- 30:16Speaker 6: You boners, Absolutely, that.
- 30:20Speaker 5: Was probably on me. My timing is off a little
- 30:21Speaker 5: bit unbelievable.
- 30:24Speaker 6: I can help it.
- 30:25Speaker 3: Welcome back to part two. I guess we decided to
- 30:30Speaker 3: We decided to make teams Stevie and Gina and John
- 30:36Speaker 3: and Augie. Uh Gina, I'm gonna give you the choice.
- 30:40Speaker 3: Do you want you and Stevie to go first? Or
- 30:42Speaker 3: do you want John and Aggie to go first? And
- 30:45Speaker 3: before you make your decision, I'll tell you the game
- 30:48Speaker 3: we're playing is called comic condol I have here ten
- 30:55Speaker 3: premises for comic books. All you have to do is
- 30:59Speaker 3: tell me was this a real comic book or not?
- 31:04Speaker 3: Is this a real comic book? Or are you being
- 31:06Speaker 3: Stevie's bye bye Aaron? You're being Stevie by me. I'm
- 31:12Speaker 3: going to Stevie you Stevie. You know After Hours show
- 31:17Speaker 3: Stevie's Stevie's sception.
- 31:19Speaker 9: Like I think we should go first?
- 31:22Speaker 6: Yes, please give me that, Aaron Stevie.
- 31:25Speaker 9: Okay, Sterring.
- 31:30Speaker 3: Both teams are going to answer every Both teams are
- 31:34Speaker 3: going to answer every prompt. Uh So, Gina and Stevie,
- 31:38Speaker 3: can you tell me is this following premise for a
- 31:40Speaker 3: comic book?
- 31:41Speaker 6: Real?
- 31:42Speaker 3: The X Men go on the Tonight Show. That's it,
- 31:48Speaker 3: The X Men go on the Tonight Show?
- 31:50Speaker 6: Now?
- 31:50Speaker 3: Was this a real comic book?
- 31:52Speaker 15: Now?
- 31:52Speaker 1: I can tell you right now.
- 31:53Speaker 4: Back in the day, there was an X Men Swimsuit
- 31:56Speaker 4: Edition comic book that I did buy.
- 31:57Speaker 1: So I know swimsuit stuff is real.
- 31:59Speaker 5: It was awesome it.
- 32:02Speaker 4: Oh dude, it was awesome, Like it was. It was
- 32:04Speaker 4: definitely an adult comic, but it was legit by Marvel.
- 32:08Speaker 4: So I believe they would do something like go on
- 32:11Speaker 4: a show, But I don't think it's going to be.
- 32:13Speaker 1: The Tonight Show.
- 32:14Speaker 4: I think it'd be something different. I think he's throwing
- 32:16Speaker 4: like that in there as the twist.
- 32:19Speaker 1: I think that's what I think it was, Carson.
- 32:22Speaker 4: It might have been something like that, yeah, because that
- 32:23Speaker 4: would have been back in the day, right, So I
- 32:27Speaker 4: always think, yeah, I think we're being Steve.
- 32:30Speaker 1: Steve, Yeah, confusing Steve.
- 32:34Speaker 3: Yeah, Okay, John and Augy, what do you think?
- 32:41Speaker 6: What do you think?
- 32:43Speaker 10: They make a good argument. But I also feel like
- 32:45Speaker 10: Marvel has done a lot with their comic book series stuff.
- 32:51Speaker 5: It's not too much of a shot in the dark
- 32:53Speaker 5: to say that it.
- 32:53Speaker 1: Might be real.
- 32:57Speaker 6: Is it like like an X Men character or like
- 33:00Speaker 6: all of them? That's where my mind is, like, Okay,
- 33:03Speaker 6: well now we're into crazy town, right.
- 33:07Speaker 9: Right, every x Men after so many.
- 33:12Speaker 6: But if it was like Scott Summers just showed up
- 33:14Speaker 6: on to be like all right, I guess I could
- 33:17Speaker 6: work with that premise, but I don't know.
- 33:20Speaker 10: I feel like it would be real. Yeah, I agree, Yeah,
- 33:24Speaker 10: I think it's real.
- 33:25Speaker 3: Okay, So Stevie and Gina say it's fake, and John
- 33:29Speaker 3: and say it's real. You guys are being staring.
- 33:33Speaker 6: This is fake.
- 33:36Speaker 3: This is fake, is a point to Stevie and Gina.
- 33:41Speaker 3: All right, let's move on to our second premise, Archie
- 33:46Speaker 3: meets the Punisher and John and Aggie you'll go first.
- 33:51Speaker 5: Okay, holy shit, Archie meets the Punisher. That is an
- 33:58Speaker 5: interesting collab.
- 34:00Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean it's just the art styles alone. It
- 34:06Speaker 6: would take some very very clever, illustrating action.
- 34:12Speaker 5: Be like Howard the Duck levels of.
- 34:14Speaker 6: Like, yeah, my my instinct was initially like get the
- 34:21Speaker 6: funk out of here. So I might say fake, but
- 34:25Speaker 6: I think I think, but you never know with comic books, right.
- 34:27Speaker 7: Yeah, literally anything, But I'm gonna go go with your
- 34:31Speaker 7: gut reaction there. I think I think it's I think
- 34:33Speaker 7: we're being.
- 34:33Speaker 1: Aired with me.
- 34:36Speaker 5: Yes, oh yeah, keep keep talking to me. It's like
- 34:42Speaker 5: a siren song.
- 34:47Speaker 3: To you, guys.
- 34:49Speaker 6: Do not survive.
- 34:50Speaker 3: You guys are going starring, Uh, Gina and Stevie, what
- 34:54Speaker 3: do you think?
- 34:56Speaker 4: This is difficult? Because only it's real right now, I don't.
- 35:03Speaker 4: I know Scooby Do did a lot of crossovers too,
- 35:04Speaker 4: but I don't think he did want with the Punisher,
- 35:06Speaker 4: whereas Archie, I can one hundred percent believe that happening.
- 35:11Speaker 9: I think they did it for shock, like why would
- 35:13Speaker 9: be together?
- 35:14Speaker 1: And the Archie comics, I don't know if you read
- 35:16Speaker 1: a lot of them when you were younger or not,
- 35:18Speaker 1: but they did.
- 35:18Speaker 4: Go through a lot of different universes. So yeah, I'm
- 35:22Speaker 4: down with things saying this is real.
- 35:24Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, you're going real. Okay, So John and Aggy
- 35:27Speaker 3: say it's fake and you're being staring, and Stevie and
- 35:30Speaker 3: Jana say it's real, and I am delighted to say
- 35:34Speaker 3: this is real. This Uh yeah, Archie met the Punisher
- 35:42Speaker 3: in an actual I think it's because they were at
- 35:45Speaker 3: the time both owned by the same company and they
- 35:47Speaker 3: were like why not. So yeah, it's kind of bizarre. Obviously,
- 35:52Speaker 3: the Punishers toned down somewhat, not exactly going around Riverdale
- 35:57Speaker 3: killing everybody shopping. Let's move on to our third premise,
- 36:04Speaker 3: and this time, Stevie and Gina, you will answer first
- 36:08Speaker 3: Batman versus Donald Trump.
- 36:14Speaker 1: Fox. This would be I don't. I have no reference
- 36:16Speaker 1: to anything. It is my problem.
- 36:17Speaker 9: I used to Now I think he's messing on this.
- 36:20Speaker 1: I don't know. Yeah, a billionaire going after another billionaire.
- 36:26Speaker 1: That'd be so cool that.
- 36:28Speaker 9: Yeah, he probably want to protect all his money. He'd
- 36:30Speaker 9: be on his side.
- 36:31Speaker 4: Man. This this is hard because again I don't know
- 36:35Speaker 4: anything recent and I could believe this happening, but again
- 36:38Speaker 4: I can see DC not doing it because they don't
- 36:40Speaker 4: want that kind of backlash.
- 36:42Speaker 9: Yeah, I've never heard of it.
- 36:44Speaker 3: Yeah, what do you think? Like?
- 36:46Speaker 4: Yeah, so what I I think we're gonna go with
- 36:48Speaker 4: being staring.
- 36:50Speaker 6: Right, all right?
- 36:51Speaker 3: It sounds like you're both saying face yeah yeah, John
- 36:54Speaker 3: and Augie, what do you think?
- 36:58Speaker 5: I don't know, because.
- 37:00Speaker 7: From my experience, at least in the last eight years
- 37:05Speaker 7: it's been eight years, is that they do compare him
- 37:10Speaker 7: a lot to Sam Man, So I could see that
- 37:14Speaker 7: being made maybe, like I don't know if an official
- 37:17Speaker 7: sense though.
- 37:19Speaker 6: Here's my thought is that, let's say believing, assuming that
- 37:26Speaker 6: it were true and it was before he got into politics,
- 37:32Speaker 6: that guy, My thought is that it would have been
- 37:36Speaker 6: brought back into the show the zeitgheinst.
- 37:43Speaker 9: When there was we have feelings about that word.
- 37:46Speaker 6: Yeah, I don't like using that word, but the national conversation,
- 37:51Speaker 6: let's just call it.
- 37:53Speaker 9: So.
- 37:54Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 37:55Speaker 6: I think honestly, if it were a thing like before
- 37:57Speaker 6: he got into politics, it would have been brought back
- 38:00Speaker 6: into the public's attention.
- 38:02Speaker 8: Yeah, do you mean like they made it back when
- 38:05Speaker 8: he was in home alone and home alone.
- 38:07Speaker 6: Or even Donald Trump or even the Apprentice or whatever.
- 38:11Speaker 6: They'd be like, you know, because the Internet loves to
- 38:14Speaker 6: like overlay stuff on people's speech bubbles. They were made
- 38:18Speaker 6: memes out of it at this point. So I'm also
- 38:20Speaker 6: agreeing that it's staring.
- 38:23Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, I think so too. I think it would
- 38:25Speaker 7: be more interfaces about it.
- 38:27Speaker 3: All right, So both teams think they're being sterring, and
- 38:30Speaker 3: both teams are right. That's a point. Absolutely invented the point.
- 38:37Speaker 6: All right.
- 38:38Speaker 3: So here's your next premise. Was this a real comic
- 38:41Speaker 3: book Superman in the American Civil War? And John and
- 38:47Speaker 3: Augie will go first.
- 38:50Speaker 10: I think that one's real.
- 38:54Speaker 5: Superman.
- 38:55Speaker 7: Going back in time is not a new concept. So
- 38:58Speaker 7: for him going back during a time, specifically a time
- 39:03Speaker 7: in American history, makes a.
- 39:05Speaker 10: Whole lot of signs too.
- 39:07Speaker 7: Considering his uh, what's the word I'm thinking of here.
- 39:12Speaker 7: I guess his representation is mostly like American.
- 39:17Speaker 6: Like I guess, yeah, all right, I'm gonna do for it.
- 39:23Speaker 6: But you know what, it's a better argument than I had,
- 39:26Speaker 6: and I'm going to defer to your expertise.
- 39:28Speaker 5: So I'm saying it's real, and it's the Flash's fault.
- 39:32Speaker 7: Okay, it's always the Flash's fault when it comes to
- 39:36Speaker 7: time ship, even if it was like even.
- 39:40Speaker 6: It was like Superman going, oh God, I gotta get
- 39:42Speaker 6: out of here for a second.
- 39:45Speaker 3: Yeah, like he's been quantum leaped.
- 39:51Speaker 5: Just in a new body.
- 39:54Speaker 6: Where am I General Roberty.
- 40:04Speaker 8: I'm gonna eyelaser everywhere, bulletproof and I'm supposed to die.
- 40:10Speaker 5: And that's how we got the story of Stonewall Jackson.
- 40:14Speaker 3: Stone's over his head John and say it's real. Uh,
- 40:20Speaker 3: Stevie and Gina, what do you say?
- 40:22Speaker 1: I have thoughts, Gina, I don't know if you do
- 40:25Speaker 1: or not.
- 40:25Speaker 4: I know that, Uh, Superman, just like Captain America went
- 40:30Speaker 4: after Nazis at one point. I don't think he went
- 40:33Speaker 4: back to the American Civil War, though I could be wrong.
- 40:36Speaker 9: I used to read I remember the like the what
- 40:39Speaker 9: if if he was like born in Russia.
- 40:42Speaker 1: Yeah, the Red Sun thing.
- 40:43Speaker 9: I don't remember ever hearing about that. So I'm with you.
- 40:46Speaker 4: Yeah, right, son, I'm gonna say it's fake because I
- 40:48Speaker 4: think it's a different war.
- 40:50Speaker 9: Okay, I'm with you, all right.
- 40:52Speaker 3: So Stevie and Gina say they're being sterring, and John
- 40:57Speaker 3: and Aggie say it's real. Uh, And it is real.
- 41:02Speaker 3: You get the point.
- 41:03Speaker 15: Uh.
- 41:03Speaker 3: The actual title is a nation divided.
- 41:06Speaker 7: Uh.
- 41:07Speaker 4: And it's it's sort of a what if scenario if
- 41:09Speaker 4: you went back that far, you could go before all
- 41:11Speaker 4: that stopped all this ship, but it would be so
- 41:14Speaker 4: like it's just like.
- 41:16Speaker 9: A regular troop on the Yeah, just a Yankee.
- 41:20Speaker 3: He gets hit by a cannonball and it doesn't do anything.
- 41:24Speaker 9: I assume he's not a Southerner, Like, Oh, that's weird.
- 41:29Speaker 3: Okay, So, uh, I don't know.
- 41:31Speaker 9: It wasn't in Kansas.
- 41:34Speaker 3: We've done four of these and it's three points to
- 41:36Speaker 3: two in favor of Gina and Stevie. So it's time
- 41:40Speaker 3: for our fifth one, and again, Gene and STEVIEE, you
- 41:43Speaker 3: will answer first the life of Pope John Paul.
- 41:47Speaker 1: The second, okay, the entire life of the life of.
- 41:53Speaker 3: Pope John Paul.
- 41:54Speaker 8: The second was this, I honestly could see that being
- 41:57Speaker 8: sold in a Vatican gift shop.
- 41:59Speaker 1: One hundred percent. I'm right there with you, dude.
- 42:03Speaker 9: Yeah, real, Yeah, it's not overthinking.
- 42:06Speaker 3: It's real, all right, So no overthoughts or under thoughts
- 42:11Speaker 3: are middle thoughts.
- 42:12Speaker 8: Uh.
- 42:13Speaker 4: Those church movies and nobody hears about yet they see
- 42:16Speaker 4: on the top of the charts every time.
- 42:17Speaker 3: And Stevie say it's real, John and Aug what do
- 42:19Speaker 3: you think?
- 42:20Speaker 5: I mean, it's a good point, like if it's marketable, it's.
- 42:26Speaker 9: Merchandising, merchandized.
- 42:32Speaker 1: In the movie.
- 42:41Speaker 9: I cast you out, Devil and everyone's trying.
- 42:45Speaker 5: Francis the doll still says me.
- 42:49Speaker 3: The schwartz be with you.
- 42:53Speaker 1: They just change the color.
- 42:55Speaker 3: Yeah, look, yogat.
- 43:06Speaker 6: Want of yogurt?
- 43:07Speaker 5: Huge years with it right now it's just a yoga.
- 43:18Speaker 3: Oh my god, did you say real?
- 43:25Speaker 13: I don't know.
- 43:26Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, everybody says it's real. Everybody gets a point.
- 43:31Speaker 3: It is absolutely real. I don't know if it was
- 43:34Speaker 3: sold in the Vatican gift shop, but.
- 43:35Speaker 6: It is a comic book.
- 43:36Speaker 3: We need to read then, all right, ready for our
- 43:39Speaker 3: sixth uh premise for a comic book, and this time John,
- 43:44Speaker 3: and auga you will answer first Aquaman goes to six Flags. Wow,
- 43:51Speaker 3: that was.
- 43:54Speaker 1: Hell, so we smelled fish sticks.
- 44:02Speaker 3: John And first, remember yeah.
- 44:05Speaker 11: Six Flags not raging waters, right, Canada's Wonderland?
- 44:16Speaker 5: Did he just like go hang out at like the
- 44:19Speaker 5: water park all day?
- 44:20Speaker 6: Like yeah, this is what I'm wondering. Is it like
- 44:23Speaker 6: an entire freaking comic book.
- 44:26Speaker 3: There's so much devoted to that.
- 44:35Speaker 1: I tasted it every time I talk.
- 44:38Speaker 9: Aaron liked that one.
- 44:43Speaker 8: Man.
- 44:44Speaker 5: I don't know, Man, like this is equally likely, but
- 44:47Speaker 5: I think this one might be fake.
- 44:50Speaker 6: I will go with you, Yes, I think this.
- 44:52Speaker 7: One might be fake, just because it's too specific, like
- 44:55Speaker 7: you probably go to a more like nationally known.
- 44:58Speaker 6: I would have been like, yeah, I'm wondering if it's
- 45:00Speaker 6: staring like plot twist. It was Bush Gardens, it.
- 45:05Speaker 9: Was Batman and he had fun.
- 45:08Speaker 1: He smiled.
- 45:11Speaker 9: Elfrid.
- 45:12Speaker 3: I like this, John, John, and you think they're being
- 45:17Speaker 3: staring And.
- 45:20Speaker 4: Like if you said something like a SeaWorld or something,
- 45:24Speaker 4: I'd be like that's bullshit because you'd be fighting to
- 45:25Speaker 4: get them all out. This is actually because I could
- 45:28Speaker 4: see six Flights like Wayne need money, let's help it,
- 45:32Speaker 4: like Cooperative DC or no Marvel, sorry, no DC.
- 45:36Speaker 1: We said Aquaman character. For a second, you think they've
- 45:40Speaker 1: picked something cooler though this I'm saying.
- 45:43Speaker 4: But again, it's six Flags, so you just need a
- 45:44Speaker 4: little bit of Yeah. I really could go either way.
- 45:47Speaker 7: On this one.
- 45:48Speaker 9: Gina, you have you have a Superman rollerster?
- 45:51Speaker 1: Yes, six Flags and let's go real. I think really
- 45:55Speaker 1: think they partnered. Okay, yeah, let's do it all right?
- 45:59Speaker 3: So, uh, John and Augy say they're being strand and
- 46:04Speaker 3: Stevie and Gina think it's real. But the fact is
- 46:08Speaker 3: you're being stering. This is fake. There are DC and
- 46:12Speaker 3: six Flags do have a deal. There are plenty of
- 46:14Speaker 3: DC inspired rides at six Yeah Superman, but so far
- 46:18Speaker 3: no comic books, and specifically none involving Aquaman.
- 46:21Speaker 9: Please write that one air, So.
- 46:24Speaker 3: That is a point for John and aug It is
- 46:27Speaker 3: all tied up with four premises left to go a
- 46:30Speaker 3: water slide.
- 46:31Speaker 5: Call it the Aquaman, and it's just like there's still
- 46:33Speaker 5: a lot of piss.
- 46:40Speaker 9: Fish sticks at the concession standard.
- 46:42Speaker 12: My brother, there's just a standy Aquaman with the speech
- 46:49Speaker 12: bubble saying, don't you must be this tall to taste
- 46:53Speaker 12: the urine?
- 46:57Speaker 1: You know I'm good a six flags. I don't even
- 46:58Speaker 1: go anywhere.
- 47:03Speaker 9: Sorry, honey, maybe next time.
- 47:09Speaker 3: We have to move on to our seventh premise. I'm
- 47:11Speaker 3: never going to get through this, all right. So Gene
- 47:14Speaker 3: and Stevie, you answer first. The Avengers go on Late
- 47:18Speaker 3: Night with David Letterman.
- 47:20Speaker 9: You Pastard?
- 47:21Speaker 1: So he did the Marvel one before?
- 47:24Speaker 9: Wait was that real?
- 47:26Speaker 1: And it was real?
- 47:27Speaker 3: It was real?
- 47:28Speaker 6: Yes?
- 47:29Speaker 14: So and this is who x man?
- 47:32Speaker 6: This is?
- 47:32Speaker 4: This is It's so Marvel. So it's it's them doing
- 47:36Speaker 4: it again, but with a different show. Do you think
- 47:40Speaker 4: they double down and do Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 47:45Speaker 4: We're reading staring on this one, right.
- 47:46Speaker 3: Yeah, right, we know what new I mean, we don't
- 47:51Speaker 3: Geene and Stevie think they're being staring John and Augie,
- 47:53Speaker 3: what do you think?
- 47:55Speaker 7: It's tough because I know that the actors and actresses
- 47:58Speaker 7: themselves have gone on multiple talk shows, especially around the
- 48:00Speaker 7: time when they first aired The Avengers, like it was
- 48:03Speaker 7: all over the place.
- 48:05Speaker 10: So it's equally possible that maybe they just did a
- 48:08Speaker 10: comic book based.
- 48:09Speaker 7: Around that, because you know, everybody was kind of keen
- 48:12Speaker 7: on the idea that the Avengers were just being finally interviewed.
- 48:17Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 48:18Speaker 6: Yeah, like they made it so big, Yeah, that.
- 48:20Speaker 7: They actually made a comic about it, or at least
- 48:23Speaker 7: a scene somewhere in a comic about it.
- 48:24Speaker 6: Top ten reasons why the Avengers have but.
- 48:30Speaker 1: For sitting.
- 48:31Speaker 6: Number one. They have legs that attached to their body.
- 48:36Speaker 5: Are the pants too tight?
- 48:40Speaker 6: Is it really America's ass?
- 48:46Speaker 10: I don't know. I think this one might actually be real.
- 48:50Speaker 6: I'm gonna go I'm gonna agree with you.
- 48:51Speaker 3: Okay, Okay, John, and you go real and Gene and
- 48:56Speaker 3: see you think they're being staring. This is real, Amen,
- 49:00Speaker 3: this is real. You guys got me mixed up. The
- 49:02Speaker 3: X Men going on this tonight show was fake? You
- 49:05Speaker 3: said you thought it was real. Let us the Avengers
- 49:10Speaker 3: go on late.
- 49:10Speaker 9: You won't answer questions, I see how.
- 49:12Speaker 3: Oh no, I'm going to be completely Let you funk
- 49:18Speaker 3: yourselves up as much as you need to. So that
- 49:21Speaker 3: is another point for John.
- 49:22Speaker 1: And Augie, my worst enemy in these games.
- 49:25Speaker 9: Contesting that point.
- 49:26Speaker 3: Alright, let's move on to premise number eight. John and Augie,
- 49:29Speaker 3: you will start first. Superman meets the Quick Bunny, the
- 49:37Speaker 3: bunny from the the Chocolate Chocolate Quick Bunny Bundy.
- 49:44Speaker 6: Okay, yeah, can I just wait in real quick, I
- 49:49Speaker 6: remember this to you, so I'm going to say it's real.
- 49:53Speaker 5: Okay, Yeah, I don't, but I believe in you. I
- 49:58Speaker 5: don't believe. I don't believe in That's quick Bunny, but
- 50:01Speaker 5: I believe you.
- 50:03Speaker 6: Okay.
- 50:05Speaker 3: That is a vote for real from John and Augie,
- 50:08Speaker 3: Stevie and Gina would say.
- 50:10Speaker 4: You the commercials the Quick Bunny did jump around a lot.
- 50:14Speaker 4: Of course, all the cereals did too, which is scaring me.
- 50:17Speaker 5: You're thinking of the tricks Rabbit.
- 50:22Speaker 6: Rabbit did stuff, jump around the House of Pain, jump
- 50:25Speaker 6: around a lot.
- 50:28Speaker 3: Yeah, Superman, I think it was for a Superman meets
- 50:33Speaker 3: the Quick Money.
- 50:33Speaker 6: I think it was for you think it was.
- 50:37Speaker 9: It sounds like Santa Claus meets the ice Cream Bunny.
- 50:39Speaker 1: I think it's fake, right, I love that. I don't know.
- 50:43Speaker 1: I really have lost.
- 50:44Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 50:45Speaker 1: John seemed really confident about that, and it's scaring me.
- 50:49Speaker 4: I don't know if we should go we want to
- 50:50Speaker 4: get the point, or go against it and hope he's
- 50:52Speaker 4: wrong and we get a point we can get back.
- 50:56Speaker 1: Against him.
- 50:57Speaker 6: It could be the Mandela Okay that never, that never backfires.
- 51:00Speaker 1: Never.
- 51:03Speaker 3: So Gina and Stevie think they're being sterring, and John
- 51:06Speaker 3: and Aggie think it's real, and John's memory is on point.
- 51:09Speaker 3: It is real. Yeah, nice, nice John, absolutely real. It
- 51:14Speaker 3: is six to four in favor of John and Aggie,
- 51:16Speaker 3: and there's only two of these left, so the best
- 51:18Speaker 3: you can do is tie.
- 51:19Speaker 1: Okay. Unfortunately, so we have to go opposite of them.
- 51:21Speaker 1: Regardless we were doing well, we were not.
- 51:23Speaker 3: Necessarily Yeah, well we'll see how that pans out. We're
- 51:26Speaker 3: gonna go to the premise number nine and Gena and Stevie,
- 51:29Speaker 3: you will answer first, Godzilla versus Charles Barkley.
- 51:35Speaker 1: Dun't contest.
- 51:36Speaker 9: You're gonna say Charles Mint.
- 51:43Speaker 1: Cannibal or no.
- 51:44Speaker 3: Gina keeps writing better premises.
- 51:48Speaker 1: Yeah, we know what you should do. Just come up
- 51:52Speaker 1: with verses and just send him to her.
- 51:55Speaker 9: He's just ranting at him about race war was like,
- 52:00Speaker 9: I don't know, man, I don't want any is not.
- 52:03Speaker 3: Even stopping around. He's just going, I don't know, man.
- 52:08Speaker 6: I don't think you're just bumming me out, even down
- 52:12Speaker 6: to knock a building over.
- 52:14Speaker 10: Look, man, I just came here to destroy Tokyo.
- 52:16Speaker 16: But if you're not, oh my god, Okay, Superman, quick
- 52:31Speaker 16: Bunny was real, But does that mean this one's fakes?
- 52:34Speaker 9: TV?
- 52:36Speaker 6: Sure?
- 52:38Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 52:39Speaker 9: Are you thinking something else?
- 52:40Speaker 1: I really don't have any idea.
- 52:42Speaker 9: I don't recall hearing about this ever, me neither.
- 52:44Speaker 1: I wouldn't be surprised if it's real, though, because they would.
- 52:46Speaker 1: I bet you it's a dunk contest.
- 52:48Speaker 14: I bet you.
- 52:49Speaker 1: I bet you it's something stupid, like a Dunn. It's
- 52:52Speaker 1: like a Scooby Doo episode. It'll be something so off
- 52:54Speaker 1: the wall.
- 52:56Speaker 9: So you think real?
- 52:58Speaker 1: Probably not, but I don't. No, I've been wrong.
- 53:02Speaker 9: Okay, then let's go against our instinct.
- 53:04Speaker 1: Yeah, let's go real.
- 53:06Speaker 3: Okay, Steve, it's real? John and Augie, what do you say?
- 53:12Speaker 7: Oh?
- 53:13Speaker 10: Man, I want it to be real?
- 53:15Speaker 6: I do too, but I don't think it is.
- 53:19Speaker 5: The part of me says it is.
- 53:20Speaker 7: I don't know what say to that was like I
- 53:23Speaker 7: heard a reference of it somewhere almost.
- 53:25Speaker 6: But yeah, like especially back when Charles Barkley was like huge. Yeah,
- 53:32Speaker 6: I mean he's still a big guy.
- 53:34Speaker 1: Yeah, shrunk so much.
- 53:38Speaker 6: And he just like the God's will Comy be like
- 53:40Speaker 6: that building was terrible, terrible, Oh my god. So I
- 53:49Speaker 6: kind of think it was real.
- 53:51Speaker 5: I think so too.
- 53:52Speaker 10: I think we're gonna I mean, we'll all be wrong
- 53:55Speaker 10: if we're wrong.
- 53:57Speaker 6: Yeah, I go down to get there.
- 54:00Speaker 3: John and Ay and Stevie and Gina. A'll say it's real,
- 54:03Speaker 3: and everybody gets a point. It's real, nice, absolutely real.
- 54:07Speaker 10: All right, So you can't follow our guts, our.
- 54:11Speaker 3: Final premise, and this time, John and Augie, you will start.
- 54:14Speaker 3: Superman turns Lois Lane into a black woman.
- 54:19Speaker 1: Oh thank god, they're gonna say inside out.
- 54:23Speaker 9: He does that every other night.
- 54:24Speaker 6: Either way. Good hen herself turns Lois Lane into a woman.
- 54:41Speaker 1: M he is magic.
- 54:45Speaker 10: He could do a lot of bullshit.
- 54:50Speaker 7: I don't I don't think it's real, just because it's
- 54:55Speaker 7: it's such a bizarre like why like the context. There's
- 55:04Speaker 7: got to be context for to make sense. But that's
- 55:06Speaker 7: the whole point. I guess I don't think it's real.
- 55:10Speaker 6: I'm gonna agree with you unless you tried her labor.
- 55:18Speaker 6: I don't think that's what she charged by that.
- 55:24Speaker 9: I'm just the dangerous territory.
- 55:26Speaker 7: Yeah, I know, you changed the pigment a trap to
- 55:31Speaker 7: make everyone sound racist.
- 55:35Speaker 1: Yeah, wow, white privilege.
- 55:41Speaker 5: Let's listen, Superman's an alien.
- 55:46Speaker 9: Now you're against illegal from other planets. Sure you get canceled.
- 55:52Speaker 5: You're going to cancel.
- 55:52Speaker 3: Because Mercy learning so much to this. Did we get
- 56:02Speaker 3: an answer out of all that? John and Tina, sorry,
- 56:04Speaker 3: John and Augie? Is it real or is it fake?
- 56:07Speaker 3: I don't know if they.
- 56:08Speaker 5: I think I need therapy.
- 56:11Speaker 6: I think we all need some.
- 56:13Speaker 3: I do.
- 56:14Speaker 6: I'm gonna say fake. That's gotta be.
- 56:16Speaker 10: Yeah, yeah, it just what?
- 56:19Speaker 5: Okay, I blame the flash.
- 56:21Speaker 3: Sean and again I agree always. Okay, So John and
- 56:28Speaker 3: Aggie say fake. Gina and STEVIEE, what do you say?
- 56:32Speaker 1: We gotta go real, right, we have to.
- 56:34Speaker 3: Yeah, we want to.
- 56:36Speaker 1: I believe that this we just have to tie.
- 56:37Speaker 9: But yeah, my gut wants to say fake.
- 56:41Speaker 4: But I've Superman has done some weird ship like before,
- 56:44Speaker 4: like when the glasses thing, he used to actually funk
- 56:47Speaker 4: with people's visions. You would do something with his laser eyes.
- 56:49Speaker 4: That's what went to the glasses and make you realize that, oh,
- 56:52Speaker 4: it's not the same person. And then later on in
- 56:55Speaker 4: comics they change it to all people were just stupid,
- 56:57Speaker 4: couldn't tell difference some guy with glasses on and off.
- 56:59Speaker 1: But you see he did something with his lasers.
- 57:01Speaker 6: And Okay, they gave him.
- 57:05Speaker 1: Yeah, it's fucking weird. Did something where I can't remember what.
- 57:08Speaker 6: Looks like that other blurry guy.
- 57:13Speaker 3: All right, So Gina and Stevie say it is real,
- 57:17Speaker 3: and John and Aggie say it is fake. And I
- 57:20Speaker 3: have the dubious pleasure of telling you it is real.
- 57:24Speaker 3: What this actually happened? It was an issue. It was
- 57:29Speaker 3: attempting to be racially sensitive. But I don't know about that.
- 57:33Speaker 5: How can you actually sensitive about that?
- 57:36Speaker 3: Lois wanted to uh wanted to do a story about
- 57:41Speaker 3: about a black neighbor.
- 57:44Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 57:45Speaker 9: Yeah, she wanted to go undercover.
- 57:47Speaker 6: They pulled the soul man.
- 57:48Speaker 1: Yeah, faced her entire body straight up.
- 57:57Speaker 3: Legit, this is how real.
- 58:00Speaker 9: This is real power.
- 58:02Speaker 3: I didn't I didn't. I didn't look into it.
- 58:05Speaker 9: But it could have been like a doctor or something.
- 58:07Speaker 9: We don't know.
- 58:07Speaker 3: This is legit real Superman.
- 58:10Speaker 4: He's like here, I'm just gonna like messed off. I
- 58:13Speaker 4: can't even imagine.
- 58:14Speaker 8: Like.
- 58:15Speaker 10: So Comics looked at Michael Jackson goes, well, if you
- 58:18Speaker 10: can make himself look wild.
- 58:22Speaker 5: Stepping, Look, the only person being racist here is DC Comics.
- 58:28Speaker 7: I know.
- 58:28Speaker 9: I don't want anything to do it.
- 58:30Speaker 3: Okay, Okay, cool, damn you. So we've all somewhat recovered
- 58:39Speaker 3: from that, all right, I can now tell you the
- 58:41Speaker 3: final score is John and a have seven, Gina and
- 58:44Speaker 3: Stevie have six. So John and Auy have won this game. Congratulations,
- 58:48Speaker 3: Very nice, guys, very good.
- 58:49Speaker 5: Just this one though the game.
- 58:51Speaker 3: All right, We're gonna take a quick break and we
- 58:53Speaker 3: come back. We're going to play another game, and the
- 58:54Speaker 3: winner of this game will determine the winner. If John
- 58:57Speaker 3: and Augy can take it, it's a clean sweet. But
- 58:59Speaker 3: if Steve and Gina can win this next game, it'll
- 59:01Speaker 3: be a draw. We're gonna find out what happens right
- 59:04Speaker 3: after this.
- 59:16Speaker 17: Hey there, I'm Dave, the host of Beer in Front.
- 59:20Speaker 17: Sometimes the beer in front of you is the best
- 59:23Speaker 17: one yet. I'll talk about some old school beers that
- 59:27Speaker 17: maybe you've forgotten about, some new beers that have the
- 59:30Speaker 17: potential to be a classic. I'll also talk to various
- 59:34Speaker 17: people around the beer world and get their stories all
- 59:39Speaker 17: about beer. That's Beer in Front and it's available on
- 59:43Speaker 17: all of your favorite podcast apps.
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: Hey man, welcome back. It's time for a second game
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: and the final game of the show. It's gonna be
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: the cost is correct, I've got three items here, and
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: our players are gonna take turns bidding. Uh, and they're
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: gonna keep going over and over again overbidding the highest
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: bid until I call for final bids. Now, when I
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: do this, it means one of two things. Either the
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: bidding has gotten close enough to the actual retail price
- 1:00:24Speaker 3: that I fear the future bids are in danger of
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: going over, or someone has gone over.
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: Oh are you looking at me?
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: I don't know why, just the thought six thousand dollars,
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: you know, it was five.
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: Nine off by one?
- 1:00:43Speaker 9: What was the item?
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: It was his very first bid. I don't remember what
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: it was. I think it was a Teddy Bear toy
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: or anyway. Yeah, they're all generally collectible. Obviously, given this
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: is comic Con, I've decided to focus on rare comic books.
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: Cool lord, So we're.
- 1:01:01Speaker 3: Gonna bid jumping from team to team. So, uh, STEVI
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: and Gina, you guys can decide if you would like
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: to bid first or last. We will alternate, so on
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: the second you we'll flip it and on the third
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: you'll do the same as we're doing on this item here. So,
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: would you like to bid first as a team or last?
- 1:01:20Speaker 4: We should go first, right, set the president for these fools,
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: all right, Yeah, we're gonna go first.
- 1:01:25Speaker 9: I haven't, and we're.
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: Gonna go individually. So I will go in order of
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: and Stevie and Gina. Which one of the two of
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: you would like to go first? You go ahead?
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure, for sure, all right, right away, it'll
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: be great.
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: You'll lead us off. I will go to John and
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: then I'll go to Gina, and then I'll go to
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: Augie in that order, so that teams don't stack up
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: on each other. All right. Our first items, our first
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: time amap for bids, is this incredible Star Wars number
- 1:01:55Speaker 3: one comic book, signed by both stan Lee and the
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: artist Howard Taken and professionally graded at a nine point
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: eight out of ten. And this listing can be yours
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: if the cost is correct. So I'm looking for the
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: final auction price of this item on eBay and Stevie
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: start us off.
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: Is there a limit or by numbers? Were going by?
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: Nothing like that.
- 1:02:17Speaker 3: Just dollars. We're not doing dollars.
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: We have a year, this year, the comics from this year, No.
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: The comics not from this year.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: Okay, that's what I'm wondering.
- 1:02:29Speaker 6: The autograph from Stanley came in via we Yeah, I
- 1:02:35Speaker 6: was gonna say it.
- 1:02:36Speaker 3: The auction was within the past month.
- 1:02:38Speaker 6: I can tell you that much.
- 1:02:39Speaker 13: That's awesome.
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: Was the number one you said to Star Wars would
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: point I'm not sure.
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: When those came out nineteen seventy seven?
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: Holy crap.
- 1:02:51Speaker 9: Oh okay, thank you.
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: Ok one comic. Let's start this off right at six
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: thousand dollars.
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: Okay, I will call for a final bit.
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: God damn it for really just fucking Star Wars. I
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: figure Star Wars number one.
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: At Stevie because it's your first bid. You can bid
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: under what STEVIEE bid whatever you want, but unfortunately you're
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: only gonna get one shot at it. And I will
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: give Stevie a chance to change his bid by upping
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: it if he wishes. I somehow doubt that, John, what
- 1:03:24Speaker 3: would you like to bid?
- 1:03:27Speaker 8: I am.
- 1:03:29Speaker 6: Out of the ditch. I'm gonna go for. I'm gonna
- 1:03:33Speaker 6: go for.
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: I'm gonna go for two thousand dollars, two thousand dollars,
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: says John Gina. Seven thousand dollars, seven thousand dollars.
- 1:03:47Speaker 7: Oie, alright, I'm gonna get a little closer to Stevie's
- 1:03:51Speaker 7: bid just in case, so I'll go.
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: With five thousand, five thousand.
- 1:03:57Speaker 10: I don't think it's over six Stevie.
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: You can increase your bid, but you cannot lower it
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: or are you gonna stick it?
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: I'm going to stay where I am.
- 1:04:04Speaker 3: Okay, I think that might be wise. So we're done already.
- 1:04:09Speaker 3: Thanks Stevie.
- 1:04:10Speaker 12: There go.
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: The actual final auction price of this Star Wars number
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: one I was in nineteen seventy seven is five ninety dollars.
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: Good bit, Oggie.
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: Oh damn?
- 1:04:24Speaker 4: So yeah again, just over, just over, like you say,
- 1:04:29Speaker 4: nineteen seventy number one and a nine point eight. I'm
- 1:04:32Speaker 4: just like, it's gotta be like those Marvel ones go
- 1:04:34Speaker 4: for like a million and shit.
- 1:04:35Speaker 9: So I'm like, come on, oh wait, did I bid over? Stevie?
- 1:04:39Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 1:04:39Speaker 3: You did what I thought?
- 1:04:41Speaker 9: He said sixty thousand.
- 1:04:42Speaker 4: No, I mean to be fair, this is around number
- 1:04:47Speaker 4: that was in my head to begin with. But I
- 1:04:49Speaker 4: was like, well, let's start low at six zero.
- 1:04:53Speaker 9: Why did I go over?
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: All right, here's our second item I forbids, John, you
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: will start bidding this time. Our second item forbids is
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: this pristine copy of new Mutants number ninety eight, complete
- 1:05:08Speaker 3: with insert and professionally graded at a nine point eight
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: out of ten. This issue is notable for being the
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: first appearance of Deadpool and this listing goes to the
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: one of you who bids closest to the final auction
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: price without going over. John, start us off.
- 1:05:25Speaker 6: I will start us off at nine hundred dollars.
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: All right, Gina, eleven hundred dollars.
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: Okay, go for three thousand, three thousand.
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: Stevie thirty five hundred, thirty five hundred.
- 1:05:44Speaker 6: John, I will go to twenty five hundred.
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: You can't. You have to go over Stevie's bit of thirty.
- 1:05:58Speaker 6: Five Oh oh, oh, my bad. I know how this
- 1:06:01Speaker 6: game works.
- 1:06:04Speaker 5: I will.
- 1:06:06Speaker 6: I will go to fifteen hundred.
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: That's even lower.
- 1:06:11Speaker 5: You have to go.
- 1:06:13Speaker 3: We have to go higher than thirty five hundred.
- 1:06:16Speaker 6: M okay, Maybe we could just have a quick tutorial
- 1:06:19Speaker 6: how numbers were.
- 1:06:22Speaker 9: My wife is an account.
- 1:06:29Speaker 6: I know about math. I can handle things. I'm smart.
- 1:06:31Speaker 5: Nobody tell her.
- 1:06:32Speaker 6: It's not dumb, like people say, Yeah, nobody tell my
- 1:06:35Speaker 6: wife this is true. Well, this is why she handles
- 1:06:39Speaker 6: the books in the house. Let's say. But I can
- 1:06:45Speaker 6: also stand where I am right, you can.
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: I haven't called final bids yet.
- 1:06:50Speaker 6: You can if you okay, then let's say four thousand, four.
- 1:06:54Speaker 9: Thousand, Gina forty two hundred, forty two.
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: Hundred, Augie fifty five, fifty five hundred, Stevie six thousand.
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: I will call final bid. John. You may stick on
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: your four thousand, or you may bid higher than Stevie's bid,
- 1:07:34Speaker 3: which is five hundred. He bid six thousand, so I
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: gotta go over.
- 1:07:38Speaker 6: Okay, you got I will. I feel sticky right now,
- 1:07:43Speaker 6: so I'm gonna stick.
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: You're gonna stick on four thousand, all right, yep. Gina,
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: your bid was forty two hundred. You can stick on that,
- 1:07:52Speaker 3: or you can go higher than Stevie's bid. I'll go
- 1:07:56Speaker 3: sixty one hundred, sixty one hundred. Okaie, you can stick
- 1:08:02Speaker 3: on your last bid of thirty five hundred, or you
- 1:08:05Speaker 3: can bid higher than sixty one hundred.
- 1:08:08Speaker 9: I thought his was fifty five hundred.
- 1:08:10Speaker 3: It was Oh sorry, I was sixty five hundred. Going.
- 1:08:16Speaker 3: My wife's not an accountant. My wife doesn't exist.
- 1:08:20Speaker 10: I will do She's Canada, Canada. I'll do sixty five.
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: Hundred, sixty five hundred. Stevie.
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: Well g sixty one.
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: She's got sixty one. I'll go sixty five oh one,
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: sixty five oh one.
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: The dick move yep, but he did it, okay, so
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: like move my dick.
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: So our bids are four thousand.
- 1:08:47Speaker 5: John, careful, Mikets, you just called the.
- 1:08:56Speaker 3: Nice Uh that may have been a joke we did
- 1:09:01Speaker 3: in the before or mid I don't know. Patre say,
- 1:09:07Speaker 3: there you go, So let me go over this again
- 1:09:11Speaker 3: in my head before I lose it. John bid four thousand,
- 1:09:13Speaker 3: Gina bit sixty one hundred, Stevie bid or sorry, Augie
- 1:09:16Speaker 3: bid sixty five hundred, and Stevie bid sixty five o
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: one the actual final auction price of this comice and
- 1:09:24Speaker 3: twenty six dollars. So Stevie is the.
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: One moving by Dick to win.
- 1:09:33Speaker 9: I'm so proud of your dick.
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: Dear right, somebody's got.
- 1:09:36Speaker 6: To be a right.
- 1:09:38Speaker 3: Our final ITEMA and this is gonna determine it because
- 1:09:40Speaker 3: each team has got one item. Our final item of
- 1:09:43Speaker 3: forbids is this Eastman and Laird's teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
- 1:09:48Speaker 3: number one from nineteen eighty four, professionally graded at A
- 1:09:53Speaker 3: nine point four with white pages, and this listing can
- 1:09:57Speaker 3: be yours if the cost is wrecked this time, Gina,
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: you are going to start the.
- 1:10:04Speaker 15: Bidding one thousand dollars, one thousand dollars, Augie three grand,
- 1:10:14Speaker 15: three thousand, Stevie.
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: White pages right, yep, fifty two hundred.
- 1:10:20Speaker 3: Fifty two hundred. John, I thought you were going to say,
- 1:10:23Speaker 3: do I have honus points?
- 1:10:24Speaker 6: If I get it right on?
- 1:10:26Speaker 3: I mean, you'll get kudos.
- 1:10:27Speaker 6: But I know it because I saw it at a
- 1:10:32Speaker 6: comic Con revolution. I saw this actual item for sale.
- 1:10:35Speaker 3: No shit, So this is going to go auction on eBay.
- 1:10:39Speaker 6: Bear in mind might be slightly okay, all right, well
- 1:10:43Speaker 6: then I will bump it down a bit just in case.
- 1:10:46Speaker 6: But I am going to say fifteen thousand dollars.
- 1:10:49Speaker 3: Fifteen thousand dollars, Gina.
- 1:10:58Speaker 6: I know what the number is.
- 1:11:00Speaker 3: I was scared, so uh, seventeen thousand, seventeen thousand, Ogie,
- 1:11:07Speaker 3: that's insane. Twenty three thousand, twenty three thousand. I will
- 1:11:11Speaker 3: now call final bids, Stevie.
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: Damn What John says?
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: Six fifteen fifteen?
- 1:11:20Speaker 10: He said, fifteen and the highest twenty.
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: Three twenty four nine nine nine.
- 1:11:29Speaker 3: Twenty four nine nine nine. John, you may stick on fifteen,
- 1:11:36Speaker 3: or you may bump it up.
- 1:11:38Speaker 6: How Hi, can I bump it up? What's the I
- 1:11:42Speaker 6: know what the number is, and I I've screwed myself.
- 1:11:44Speaker 3: You would have to go higher than twenty four nine
- 1:11:47Speaker 3: nine nine.
- 1:11:49Speaker 6: And what are the other bids?
- 1:11:51Speaker 11: Uh?
- 1:11:52Speaker 7: Oh?
- 1:11:52Speaker 3: You bid twenty three? Gina bid seventeen.
- 1:11:56Speaker 6: Fuck, I fucked myself. I know what the number is,
- 1:12:01Speaker 6: and I screwed up, so I might as well just
- 1:12:05Speaker 6: stick all.
- 1:12:06Speaker 3: Right, you're sticking on fifteen, Gina, I'll stick. You're sticking
- 1:12:14Speaker 3: on seventeen, all right. So to be clear, John bid
- 1:12:19Speaker 3: fifteen thousand, Gina bid seventeen thousand, o'gi bid twenty three thousand,
- 1:12:25Speaker 3: and Stevie bid twenty four thousand, nine hundred ninety nine dollars.
- 1:12:30Speaker 3: The actual final auction price of this comic is twenty
- 1:12:37Speaker 3: two thousand, eight hundred and seventy eight. So Gina wins. Wow,
- 1:12:42Speaker 3: and Stevie and Gina have won this game.
- 1:12:45Speaker 6: Yes, that was right. I have a picture of that
- 1:12:49Speaker 6: comic going for twenty two thousand.
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: Oh man, Yeah, if you'd said twenty two thousand, If
- 1:12:55Speaker 3: you'd said twenty two thousand, you would have been just so.
- 1:12:58Speaker 5: I guessed a thousand.
- 1:13:00Speaker 3: Yeah, you just went over crazy.
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: That was awesome.
- 1:13:05Speaker 9: I am not paying that for comic book.
- 1:13:07Speaker 3: Well played arranging, which means each team has won a game.
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: It's a drawster. Thank you so much for doing this

- 1:19:17Speaker 6: Saving Sorry us like a fingerpoint, like I was gonna
- 1:19:22Speaker 6: do that.

- 1:19:39Speaker 5: So anyway, love that dove Superman's soul man.
- 1:19:44Speaker 7: So she could go with the fill up journalistic needed alright, yeah, yeah,
- 1:19:49Speaker 7: it's absolutely terrible.
- 1:19:50Speaker 4: I don't know, maybe go get an African American reporter
- 1:19:53Speaker 4: and them do the story instead.
- 1:19:55Speaker 3: It's crazy.
- 1:19:56Speaker 6: That's a bridge too crazy.
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: Yeah, we'd have to hear a black first.
- 1:20:00Speaker 7: And I'm sorry, is that newspaper just didn't want to
- 1:20:05Speaker 7: hire a black person to go do the idea?
- 1:20:09Speaker 3: It's like it's like Superman, it's just shaking his head
- 1:20:12Speaker 3: at Low's Lane, like just hire a black person. Why
- 1:20:15Speaker 3: do you need to do you need to do this?
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: She's like, what do you mean?
- 1:20:19Speaker 13: You mean you people.
- 1:20:24Speaker 9: To think show does not support the racism.
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: The best thing about me editing is I can cut
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: that part out.
- 1:20:38Speaker 3: Do not support the racism.
- 1:20:40Speaker 5: I'll save that part in.
