- 0:33Speaker 1: Brand fucking new. How do you feel about it, Jess?
- 0:37Speaker 2: I feel so good about it.
- 0:38Speaker 3: I feel like I've said this a thousand times before,
- 0:43Speaker 3: but this.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Is a brand new chapter.
- 0:45Speaker 3: Yeah, so many good, big things to come. And the
- 0:48Speaker 3: fact that you have talked about this podcast and you've
- 0:52Speaker 3: been like, my most important thing is to connect with
- 0:55Speaker 3: my fans, to hear the listeners, to talk about what
- 1:00Speaker 3: my heart and soul is feeling, to talk about mental health,
- 1:02Speaker 3: like all the things you want to hit and discuss
- 1:05Speaker 3: on this podcast.
- 1:07Speaker 2: It's going to be amazing.
- 1:08Speaker 1: And Yeah, I feel like I want I love what
- 1:10Speaker 1: you just said. I feel like I want my listeners
- 1:14Speaker 1: to be heard like this isn't just something where I
- 1:16Speaker 1: want to like talk on a mic and talk at
- 1:18Speaker 1: you like, let's have a discussion, let's bond, let's talk
- 1:22Speaker 1: about our trials and our triumphs. It's just like, I'm
- 1:27Speaker 1: so excited about it. The brand new podcast with motherfucking
- 1:30Speaker 1: La lac Kid.
- 1:32Speaker 2: It's perfect.
- 1:33Speaker 1: So with that being said, my most favorite holiday is
- 1:37Speaker 1: coming up tomorrow, which is Thanksgiving.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Amazing that's your favorite holiday?
- 1:41Speaker 1: I just feel like it, Yeah, because you still get
- 1:46Speaker 1: to look forward to Christmas Eve and Christmas and New
- 1:51Speaker 1: Year's so's it's almost like, you know how Christmas Eve
- 1:55Speaker 1: is the best because it's like the giddiness, yes, and
- 1:57Speaker 1: then you kind of feel down when it's over. You
- 2:00Speaker 1: don't feel that way with Thanksgiving.
- 2:02Speaker 2: That's true. That's a great point.
- 2:04Speaker 1: There's so much more to come.
- 2:06Speaker 3: That's a great point because I was like, what about Christmas,
- 2:07Speaker 3: because obviously that's most people's favorite, including mine.
- 2:10Speaker 2: But that's a great point, right.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Yeah. I love the food. I love to get together.
- 2:15Speaker 1: I love the fact that no gifts are given. Yeah,
- 2:18Speaker 1: it's just contrary to what people think about me. Granted,
- 2:23Speaker 1: I gave people a reason to think that I just
- 2:26Speaker 1: wanted private jets and Chanel bags for me. That was
- 2:29Speaker 1: a way of like throwing salt in a wound, like
- 2:31Speaker 1: people were calling me all of these things. I was like, well,
- 2:34Speaker 1: if you're gonna call me that, then I'm gonna show
- 2:36Speaker 1: you like I'm gonna like throw it in your face.
- 2:38Speaker 1: I'm gonna be super out there about it. Yeah, but really,
- 2:40Speaker 1: let's call it what it is. I'm just a bitch
- 2:42Speaker 1: from Utah.
- 2:42Speaker 2: She like, from Utah.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Just a bitch from Utah. Don't need much, Yeah, I
- 2:46Speaker 1: just want to be around people. I love, eat good food,
- 2:50Speaker 1: spend quality time.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:51Speaker 1: With that, I'm good. So Thanksgiving offers me just that.
- 2:56Speaker 2: I love that. What are you doing for Thanksgiving tomorrow?
- 2:59Speaker 1: Oh ooh? I am planning on waking up, having my coffee,
- 3:06Speaker 1: turning on the TV, enjoying my baby, and then we'll
- 3:09Speaker 1: see where the day takes us.
- 3:10Speaker 2: I love it.
- 3:12Speaker 1: We may stop by Jackson Britts. Fine, I'm no chef.
- 3:19Speaker 1: What I know, you're all shocked. I'll probably have my
- 3:24Speaker 1: mom make her famous sweet potatoes. Yeah, you've never had
- 3:29Speaker 1: a sweet potato until you've had my mom's.
- 3:31Speaker 2: I believe that.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Actually, they're so good.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Is it like a casserole.
- 3:36Speaker 1: So it's like the sweet potatoes are mashed up, you
- 3:39Speaker 1: put it in a pan. Then she so, my mom's
- 3:43Speaker 1: family they have a Peacan farm. Okay, So we get
- 3:47Speaker 1: like peacans by the truckload during this time.
- 3:49Speaker 2: I love that.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Yeah, and she like chops them up with some corn flakes.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Put some butter in a pan with some brown sugar.
- 3:58Speaker 1: You put that on top of the sweet potatoes, pop
- 4:00Speaker 1: it in the oven. Oh my god, you've died.
- 4:04Speaker 3: That actually sounds amazing. Is that your favorite Thanksgiving food?
- 4:07Speaker 4: Yes?
- 4:07Speaker 1: I also love some turkey with cranberry sauce. Oh what
- 4:11Speaker 1: do you like, jess.
- 4:12Speaker 2: What do I like?
- 4:13Speaker 3: My favorite combo? It's so basic, but I love it
- 4:16Speaker 3: is the turkey mashed potatoes. Yeah, and cranberry sauce. But
- 4:20Speaker 3: it can't be from the can as actual actual cranberry sauce.
- 4:24Speaker 3: And I unlike Laala.
- 4:26Speaker 2: I'm an amazing cook.
- 4:28Speaker 1: So so my plans for Thanksgiving, I'm gonna go to
- 4:32Speaker 1: Jessica Kyle's house. That's what I'm doing.
- 4:34Speaker 3: Kyle and I will be in Vegas. We're not doing that,
- 4:38Speaker 3: but visiting his dad.
- 4:39Speaker 1: So will you cook at Kyle's dad's house? Even mind?
- 4:43Speaker 1: Kyle is Jessica's boyfriend. Yeah, and he's amazing, and we
- 4:46Speaker 1: have him on the podcast today because he is a
- 4:49Speaker 1: trainer and also does nutrition and I know that we
- 4:53Speaker 1: all sit here and go, oh my gosh, Tomorrow's Thanksgiving
- 4:55Speaker 1: and you want to shove your face with all the goodness.
- 4:58Speaker 1: I got it. He's gonna and tell us how we
- 5:01Speaker 1: can do all of those things. He's gonna teach us
- 5:03Speaker 1: how to have our cake and eat it too.
- 5:04Speaker 2: Basically, yeah, yeah, if that.
- 5:05Speaker 3: Is, he is, he is, And actually that I don't
- 5:09Speaker 3: know if I'll be cooking tomorrow.
- 5:10Speaker 2: I don't think so, because I think I'll just go.
- 5:13Speaker 3: When we go to Kyle's dads, it's very much like
- 5:17Speaker 3: I'm in my pajamas the whole time with Kyle.
- 5:19Speaker 2: We're watching movies. Kyle's dad is like serving us things.
- 5:23Speaker 2: He's just the greatest guy in the world. So I
- 5:25Speaker 2: think that's what we'll do.
- 5:26Speaker 1: So maybe I will come. That sounds fucking awesome, that's amazing.
- 5:32Speaker 1: So that's what you're doing tomorrow. But what did you
- 5:35Speaker 1: used to do, like when you were back home? And
- 5:37Speaker 1: what was it serious? New York? Yes you're up state,
- 5:40Speaker 1: New York. Like, what was your tradition on Thanksgiving?
- 5:43Speaker 2: Our tradition? Wake up.
- 5:45Speaker 3: We have a huge family, the McKay side of my family,
- 5:49Speaker 3: so my mom's side is huge.
- 5:51Speaker 2: There's like twenty eight of us. So wake up.
- 5:53Speaker 3: My mom immediately starts cooking. We go to my grandma's
- 5:57Speaker 3: and then there's a football game with the whole family.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Yeah, oh my god, it's like an episode of front.
- 6:02Speaker 2: I know more people I know, And so we do
- 6:06Speaker 2: a football game.
- 6:06Speaker 3: We haven't done it in the past couple of years
- 6:08Speaker 3: because I've been like in Nashville or at Kyle's dads.
- 6:12Speaker 3: But yeah, we do the football game and then everyone
- 6:15Speaker 3: has Thanksgiving and overeats and then also watches football on TV.
- 6:19Speaker 2: It's like a very this is us type.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Yeah, but I feel like that's what's great about Thanksgiving.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Like for me, I remember as a kid, we would
- 6:27Speaker 1: kind of do the same thing. It was like wake up,
- 6:30Speaker 1: you know, Mom and Dad would be sipping on there
- 6:34Speaker 1: mimosas and what are those things called mimosa with the
- 6:38Speaker 1: with the baileies No, not too no, with the you
- 6:43Speaker 1: can put like bacon in them. It's a tomato juice.
- 6:46Speaker 1: What is that called the.
- 6:46Speaker 3: Bloody ma whoa her end was you can put bacon
- 6:51Speaker 3: in them.
- 6:51Speaker 2: I'm like, literally anything.
- 6:53Speaker 1: At all of bloody Mary like that starts flowing. My
- 6:57Speaker 1: dad's friends would come over, you know, we'd kick it
- 7:00Speaker 1: and then we all would migrate to the friend's house.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Because I'm from Utahn, we all lived on the same
- 7:06Speaker 1: little hill called Mount Olympus.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Really, how sick? That's so regal, so.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Regal, you know. So it was just like it was
- 7:15Speaker 1: so much fun because you have the football games and
- 7:17Speaker 1: then later that night you would start playing like home alone,
- 7:21Speaker 1: getting in the Christmas spirit. I love you know.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:24Speaker 3: Did you have any specific things that you would do,
- 7:28Speaker 3: like traditions or was it just every year you sort of?
- 7:31Speaker 1: As I got older? Drinking was my tradition? Really? Oh yeah, yeah,
- 7:35Speaker 1: we were heavy in the paints. Me and Easton football
- 7:39Speaker 1: and drinks. Does Easton still drink Eastern norm and aa?
- 7:44Speaker 1: We call those people normis where they can like have
- 7:47Speaker 1: a couple of drinks full of buzz and then it's
- 7:49Speaker 1: like all good. Yeah, I'm like, we haven't finished the vodka.
- 7:54Speaker 1: What are we doing? So wait?
- 7:58Speaker 3: But then the past three years, what if you do?
- 8:01Speaker 3: Do you supplement something else? Like do you do like
- 8:04Speaker 3: tea or whatever?
- 8:06Speaker 1: I have a hard addiction to perier.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Oh my god, yeah, duh.
- 8:13Speaker 1: So everyone always asks me what's your favorite mocktail? I'm
- 8:16Speaker 1: like I don't. I don't have a favorite mocktail. My
- 8:20Speaker 1: favorite mocktail. It's called a virgin vodka and soda.
- 8:25Speaker 2: A virgin soda soda water, you guys. Fun fact.
- 8:30Speaker 3: When I the first my first day on the job
- 8:33Speaker 3: with Lalla, first day working as her assistant, one of
- 8:35Speaker 3: the very first things she tells me is, listen, here's
- 8:39Speaker 3: where the Perrier is. If you see it's getting low,
- 8:42Speaker 3: we just need to make sure it's always stocked.
- 8:45Speaker 2: It's very important.
- 8:46Speaker 1: I can't live without it. I Like I always say,
- 8:49Speaker 1: I I guzzle it like water. But it is water,
- 8:52Speaker 1: so it's like it's a big addiction. And I but
- 8:56Speaker 1: I like the Perier because it doesn't have sodium in it.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Yeah, the Perier as opposed to other brands. You hear
- 9:03Speaker 2: that Perier?
- 9:04Speaker 1: Yeah, like I'm into that. Yeah, I'm more than happy
- 9:08Speaker 1: to have a hear of you guys sponsor the podcast.
- 9:12Speaker 3: So wait, here's a big debate on Thanksgiving. Do you
- 9:15Speaker 3: think it's too early on Thanksgiving or the day after
- 9:19Speaker 3: Thanksgiving to start getting in the Christmas spirit and decorating
- 9:22Speaker 3: for Christmas and watching Christmas movies? Do you think that's
- 9:24Speaker 3: too early?
- 9:25Speaker 1: No? Oh my god, no, No, I think immediately after
- 9:29Speaker 1: Halloween you should start something already.
- 9:32Speaker 3: My god speaking my language, because someone he'll be on
- 9:36Speaker 3: the podcast coming up.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Thinks that you should decorate for Christmas.
- 9:40Speaker 3: It's kylie you guys, so you should decorate for Christmas
- 9:43Speaker 3: like five days before it.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Oh, no, we need to talk to him about this.
- 9:48Speaker 1: We'll talk to him about like diet, nutrition working out.
- 9:53Speaker 1: But first order of business is no, right after Halloween
- 9:57Speaker 1: is done, the Christmas decorations go up. Yes, And in
- 10:01Speaker 1: all honesty, there were years that my mother would keep
- 10:04Speaker 1: the Christmas decorations up through February. I love that, and
- 10:09Speaker 1: then it kind of got a little depressing, right, I
- 10:11Speaker 1: think we need to wrap it up, you.
- 10:13Speaker 2: Know, hilarious, I do.
- 10:14Speaker 3: I'm a big believer in taking them down on the
- 10:17Speaker 3: first of January because I can't like start my new
- 10:20Speaker 3: year and get into the groove when I see Christmas stuff.
- 10:23Speaker 3: I want to be in my pajamas and like chillin, relaxing.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Totally.
- 10:27Speaker 2: We got to take it down January first.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Take it down. Stossy Schroeder is such a fan of Christmas. Yeah,
- 10:34Speaker 1: that it'll be the middle of summer and we're listening
- 10:37Speaker 1: to all I want for Christmas is You by Mariah Carey.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Stop I swear to God. Okay, I can't do that.
- 10:42Speaker 2: Is Stossy.
- 10:43Speaker 3: Does she like Christmas more than Halloween? Because she I
- 10:45Speaker 3: feel like she loves Halloween.
- 10:47Speaker 1: I think she would take Murder over Santa. Yeah. Yeah,
- 10:52Speaker 1: I think she would. And there's no better house to
- 10:55Speaker 1: be at during Christmas time than Jackson Brittany's. Really, they
- 10:59Speaker 1: literally put on their cabinets. Their cabinets look like wrapped gifts.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Oh and Brittany probably does it all.
- 11:07Speaker 4: Yes.
- 11:07Speaker 1: I saw an Instagram story yesterday of all her Christmas
- 11:10Speaker 1: stuff and I was like this, she is missus clause.
- 11:14Speaker 3: I love that. There's something about those Southern girls. They
- 11:17Speaker 3: just do it right when it comes to Christmas.
- 11:20Speaker 1: She needs a show on like HGTV. Yeah, because everything
- 11:23Speaker 1: is very like pinteresty and she makes it look so easy.
- 11:27Speaker 1: But then you walk into her house and it's like, no,
- 11:29Speaker 1: this looks complex. Then she tells you how she did it,
- 11:32Speaker 1: and it's like, why you need to be teaching everyone
- 11:34Speaker 1: how to do this?
- 11:35Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 11:35Speaker 3: Like easy, psy, We'll put that out into the universe
- 11:37Speaker 3: for Brett and Jack's show on HGTV.
- 11:41Speaker 1: Give them a show. Feel free to give me one two.
- 11:46Speaker 1: But I'm excited for this Thanksgiving and just this holiday
- 11:51Speaker 1: season because I am officially going to be in my
- 11:54Speaker 1: new place. Yes, I have like this big family room
- 12:00Speaker 1: area where I can fit a monstrousity.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Of a trade.
- 12:05Speaker 1: You guys not saying that I will, but it's beautiful
- 12:08Speaker 1: and I'm so excited and it's like all day girl
- 12:12Speaker 1: time for the holidays. It is.
- 12:13Speaker 3: I've seen this new place and I'm head over heels.
- 12:16Speaker 3: I actually might be moving in.
- 12:18Speaker 1: We'll stay, We'll see, because Jessica is definitely giving me
- 12:22Speaker 1: a lot of emotional support, and when she leaves, I
- 12:26Speaker 1: get upset about it. I'm like, it's the weekend already,
- 12:30Speaker 1: what time will you be here Monday? And by the way,
- 12:33Speaker 1: our apartments I'm sure will look very similar because Ashley
- 12:37Speaker 1: Furniture had a huge sale.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Shout out, Actually Furniture.
- 12:41Speaker 3: You can also sponsor the podcast if you'd like. But
- 12:44Speaker 3: we're both we both moved at the same time. We're
- 12:46Speaker 3: both moving at the same time, me Kyle into our
- 12:49Speaker 3: new place and Lalla into hers.
- 12:51Speaker 1: And every time just shows me something that she and
- 12:54Speaker 1: Kyle got for their apartment, I'm like, I'm getting that
- 12:57Speaker 1: I'm getting that same thing. She's gonna walk into my
- 13:00Speaker 1: place soon. I'd be like, this literally looks exactly like
- 13:03Speaker 1: my own apartment.
- 13:04Speaker 3: I love it because then it'll just feel like two homes.
- 13:06Speaker 3: It already feels like home when I'm with Lalla.
- 13:08Speaker 1: Doesn't it have a good energy?
- 13:10Speaker 2: The new place, Oh my god, the best energy. I
- 13:13Speaker 2: thought the treehouse had a good energy, but I now
- 13:16Speaker 2: I'm starting to learn.
- 13:17Speaker 3: I think it's just Laala's energy now is like the
- 13:21Speaker 3: energy to be around. It just feels good and positive
- 13:25Speaker 3: and like big things are.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Happening, and so that's what it is. Home is where
- 13:31Speaker 2: Laala is.
- 13:32Speaker 1: Oh, Jessica and Kyle, I love you so much.
- 13:36Speaker 3: I love you.
- 13:37Speaker 1: You're the best.
- 13:39Speaker 5: You're like, yes, my assist your hard got it?
- 13:42Speaker 1: Like I enjoy your company.
- 13:44Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 13:45Speaker 1: You're a bad bitch.
- 13:46Speaker 2: Then you're a bad bitch. Bad bitches.
- 13:48Speaker 1: You unite On that note, Happy Thanksgiving and we are
- 13:53Speaker 1: going to have Kyle again. Jessica's significant other teach us
- 13:58Speaker 1: all about how to keep these bogs he's right, while
- 14:00Speaker 1: also being able to enjoy Thanksgiving tomorrow. So we will
- 14:04Speaker 1: be right back, all right, gorgeous people, my little turkeys,
- 14:10Speaker 1: We have Kyle, Kyle, what's up?
- 14:12Speaker 4: I love, I'm just living my best life.
- 14:15Speaker 1: I believe that thanks for having me, thanks for being.
- 14:18Speaker 4: Here, Thank you.
- 14:19Speaker 1: I know that you have a million other things that
- 14:21Speaker 1: you could be doing.
- 14:22Speaker 4: So we all have a million things we could be doing,
- 14:24Speaker 4: but you have to prioritize it's important to you.
- 14:26Speaker 1: I love it. Oh. I love when someone makes me
- 14:29Speaker 1: feel important.
- 14:31Speaker 4: I learned that from her.
- 14:32Speaker 2: Really it's Jessica, you guys, Jessica.
- 14:34Speaker 4: Oh sorry, Jessica's love language is words of affirmation. So
- 14:38Speaker 4: I have to make sure that I express how important
- 14:40Speaker 4: she is.
- 14:40Speaker 1: And what is your love language, Kyle?
- 14:42Speaker 2: Physical touch?
- 14:43Speaker 1: And do you offer that to him?
- 14:45Speaker 4: I do? Sometimes the hands.
- 14:47Speaker 2: Come in and io, where do you want him?
- 14:51Speaker 1: He's like anywhere any I just need touch in any capacity. Yes.
- 14:55Speaker 3: And you know what, when you were talking about Thanksgiving,
- 14:57Speaker 3: I feel like maybe your love language and this isn't
- 15:01Speaker 3: mine to say, but just in my heart, a lot
- 15:04Speaker 3: of people I think might think your love language is gifts,
- 15:07Speaker 3: and it's not at all at all. I almost think
- 15:10Speaker 3: it's like quality time because you've said the words quality
- 15:13Speaker 3: time when you were talking about how much you love Thanksgiving.
- 15:16Speaker 1: My that is my biggest yes, And anytime that I've
- 15:20Speaker 1: gone to therapy, they've always said, like, you're just someone
- 15:24Speaker 1: who wants to be around people who are present. That's
- 15:29Speaker 1: all I crave in life. Like if I can be
- 15:31Speaker 1: around people where it's like we are in the present,
- 15:34Speaker 1: in the now, just enjoying each other, my soul leaves happy.
- 15:39Speaker 2: I love that.
- 15:40Speaker 4: I feel that love language holds the most weight. Being
- 15:43Speaker 4: touched is one thing, you know. Gifts are another thing,
- 15:46Speaker 4: words of affirmation are one thing, access service, but quality
- 15:50Speaker 4: time I think is the most valuable one because we
- 15:53Speaker 4: all the minute we're born, have a running clock, and
- 15:55Speaker 4: that time is so valuable, and the ones you choose
- 15:58Speaker 4: to spend it with is when you give your time away,
- 16:01Speaker 4: that's that's worth its weight in gold. I think. So
- 16:03Speaker 4: quality time, yeah, I think it holds the most weight
- 16:05Speaker 4: out of all of them.
- 16:06Speaker 1: You know, it's so I love that you said that,
- 16:08Speaker 1: because I I've always loved quality time. But when my
- 16:13Speaker 1: dad passed away was when I realized. You know, that
- 16:15Speaker 1: kind of shakes your world up and you realize, you know,
- 16:18Speaker 1: just like that my life had changed, completely shattered, and
- 16:23Speaker 1: I did start after that it was like time, that's
- 16:27Speaker 1: all I want.
- 16:29Speaker 3: You know, Yeah, you've said that before, and that's like
- 16:31Speaker 3: such a powerful thing because like, yeah.
- 16:34Speaker 2: Does it feel like it's slipping away at all times?
- 16:37Speaker 1: At all times, it feels like this moment. Even when
- 16:40Speaker 1: I go through, you know, my ups and downs, as
- 16:42Speaker 1: we all do, I focus on the fact that we're
- 16:46Speaker 1: still alive and breathing, and everything is temporary. Nothing. We
- 16:50Speaker 1: learned that in AA as well, is like it's all temporary.
- 16:54Speaker 1: You're craving for alcohol, Remember that's going to go away.
- 16:58Speaker 1: If you can just be for a moment and realize
- 17:02Speaker 1: everything is going to pass, this too shall pass you,
- 17:07Speaker 1: You're able to focus on the fact that we're healthy,
- 17:12Speaker 1: we're happy. Maybe not right this second, but things are good.
- 17:16Speaker 1: That makes sense, and I'm making sense. Sometimes I feel
- 17:18Speaker 1: like I'm rambling and I'm making zero sense.
- 17:20Speaker 2: No, you're definitely making sense.
- 17:23Speaker 1: So we have Kyle on the podcast obviously for a
- 17:27Speaker 1: very important reason. I mean, I'm very concerned about this
- 17:30Speaker 1: mom bad because I feel like it's my bounce back
- 17:34Speaker 1: was pretty great. I will never say that it wasn't,
- 17:37Speaker 1: but you know now I'm like really feeling myself. Okay,
- 17:41Speaker 1: Thanksgiving is tomorrow and I don't work out Kyle. Okay,
- 17:46Speaker 1: so before we venture into that, we need to go
- 17:49Speaker 1: back to when we were on break and the two
- 17:52Speaker 1: of you mentioned something about a shower head. Oh yes,
- 17:55Speaker 1: before we venture into how to keep our bods looking.
- 17:58Speaker 1: Right after Thanksgiving, these just moved into a new apartment.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Jessica was telling me that she has been on one.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Oh my god, I've been in my feelings you guys.
- 18:07Speaker 3: So because moving is one thing, right, Kyle always says
- 18:11Speaker 3: it's the one of the most stressful things, right, moving.
- 18:13Speaker 4: In death or like your two most stressful things in
- 18:17Speaker 4: your life.
- 18:17Speaker 2: Okay, So I and I'm also on my period.
- 18:21Speaker 3: So Jessica and I are, and I'm not one of
- 18:26Speaker 3: those girls who like know how I'm gonna be on
- 18:30Speaker 3: my period and it's just like, oh, this is just me.
- 18:33Speaker 2: I'm gonna be craving chocolate. I'm like an emotional roller coaster.
- 18:36Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I feel you.
- 18:37Speaker 3: So last night we moved into this new apartment. Kyle
- 18:40Speaker 3: and I love it. Everything is great. But last night
- 18:43Speaker 3: I was taking a shower and I've been in the
- 18:47Speaker 3: shower for probably like ten minutes.
- 18:49Speaker 2: So I'm lathered in soap.
- 18:51Speaker 3: I thank god, step forward to shave my legs and
- 18:55Speaker 3: the shower head just blasts off. And this is a
- 19:00Speaker 3: giant this is a huge shower head. This isn't this
- 19:03Speaker 3: is a big shower head. So it smashes behind me
- 19:07Speaker 3: and I look at it and I like.
- 19:10Speaker 1: It shocked me, Like it fell off the wall.
- 19:12Speaker 3: No, like, So it's there's like the the like tube
- 19:16Speaker 3: or whatever pipe and the giant shower head and it
- 19:19Speaker 3: flew off the pipe. So water's going everywhere, and I
- 19:23Speaker 3: quickly turn off the water and I step out of
- 19:25Speaker 3: the bathtub lathered in soap, and I start crying.
- 19:30Speaker 1: And I.
- 19:31Speaker 3: Start crying and I'm like Kyle and I'm yelling out
- 19:34Speaker 3: into the house and I don't hear him. So then
- 19:36Speaker 3: I take my phone and I call him and he's
- 19:39Speaker 3: in the lounge a few doors down. And then I
- 19:42Speaker 3: get more upset because I'm like, I just I literally
- 19:45Speaker 3: said to it, I said, I almost.
- 19:47Speaker 2: Die and you weren't there.
- 19:50Speaker 3: And how long if I got knocked out with the
- 19:52Speaker 3: shower head and was in the shower just bleeding out
- 19:56Speaker 3: or something, how long would it have been? Like I
- 19:58Speaker 3: take long showers, saying like it could have gone a
- 20:01Speaker 3: whole day, and then Kyle would have been like.
- 20:04Speaker 1: That's dramatic. So I was.
- 20:06Speaker 2: I was upset. I realized, how ridiculous.
- 20:08Speaker 1: Are tell me this? Were you washing your hair? No?
- 20:11Speaker 1: I wasn't washing my hair. That is enough to send
- 20:13Speaker 1: a girl into a blind rage.
- 20:16Speaker 2: I was so. I was soapy though, and I washed
- 20:19Speaker 2: my body.
- 20:20Speaker 3: With dove dove bar soap and I also washed my
- 20:23Speaker 3: vagina with sum so Okay, so dove barsub was in
- 20:30Speaker 3: my vagina and that was another thing that I panicked. Granted,
- 20:35Speaker 3: like hello, I just turned on the bath and that
- 20:37Speaker 3: was fine.
- 20:37Speaker 2: But I cried. And that's that's that.
- 20:43Speaker 1: I feel like it was more about the hair, was it.
- 20:46Speaker 3: I think it was just more about just like me
- 20:48Speaker 3: having not cried in a couple of weeks.
- 20:50Speaker 1: You need, you know, you needed to purge and Kyle,
- 20:53Speaker 1: can you deserve it? You've been through a lot, Lala,
- 20:57Speaker 1: You've had a deal with me. Is is this a
- 21:00Speaker 1: real life No? But think about it. You had to
- 21:04Speaker 1: step into some pretty crazy environments the past three weeks.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Moving is stressful.
- 21:10Speaker 3: And sorry, this is this is the guy fixing the
- 21:14Speaker 3: shower head. Okay, well answer her phone is ringing off
- 21:17Speaker 3: the hook and it's the maintenance person fixing coming to
- 21:21Speaker 3: Victia's shower head.
- 21:22Speaker 2: So this is great, this is what a time.
- 21:25Speaker 1: Okay, So I feel like you were definitely over dramatic.
- 21:29Speaker 2: I was one hundred percent over dramatic.
- 21:31Speaker 1: But you didn't say anything, right, Kyle. You were just like,
- 21:33Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 21:34Speaker 4: Well, I was in the Wi Fi lounge and I hear, okay,
- 21:38Speaker 4: we have not so good service in our in our
- 21:40Speaker 4: new apartment because we don't have WiFi yet. So I'm
- 21:43Speaker 4: getting broken up, Like I can't tell if she's laughing
- 21:46Speaker 4: or crying.
- 21:47Speaker 2: I was crying.
- 21:48Speaker 4: There's people in there and it's silent, and I'm like,
- 21:51Speaker 4: are you do you need me? Are you okay? Do
- 21:53Speaker 4: you need me to come back? And I'm not getting
- 21:55Speaker 4: an answer. So I it was late, I was tired.
- 21:58Speaker 4: I was like, I'm sure she's fine, and then she
- 22:00Speaker 4: was like, can you come back? So then I like
- 22:03Speaker 4: pack up all my stuff and the hallway and I walk.
- 22:06Speaker 4: I walk in and she's got bascara running down her face.
- 22:10Speaker 4: She's completely soapy and she's sitting She's standing in the shower, upset,
- 22:15Speaker 4: and I'm like.
- 22:15Speaker 1: This is time for Bud. Yeah, time for Bud.
- 22:18Speaker 4: Jessica.
- 22:19Speaker 1: This was this before the FaceTime where I couldn't know it.
- 22:22Speaker 3: After I was no, this was you facetimed me after
- 22:26Speaker 3: so this was I was calmed down, I was clean
- 22:29Speaker 3: laala FaceTime does it seven fifty six pm?
- 22:33Speaker 1: You guys?
- 22:33Speaker 2: And it was pitch black because he asked Kyle and
- 22:35Speaker 2: I were in bed.
- 22:37Speaker 1: I'm jealous of that. Yeah, okay, So Jessica was overly dramatic.
- 22:42Speaker 1: Now let's talk about the fun stuff now that that
- 22:45Speaker 1: was just fun. Sorry, that was fun. Sorry, jess.
- 22:51Speaker 2: Now let's get to the good ship.
- 22:53Speaker 1: That's not what I meant. What do most people come
- 22:57Speaker 1: to you? Obviously Thanksgivings only once when this time rolls around,
- 23:03Speaker 1: what do your clients come to you with saying this
- 23:06Speaker 1: is my concern? How do we maintain all of the
- 23:09Speaker 1: hard work that we've done? And now tomorrow's Thanksgiving and
- 23:13Speaker 1: I want to go off great question.
- 23:16Speaker 4: So around this time, depending usually most people have been
- 23:21Speaker 4: working with me for a while and we have an understanding,
- 23:25Speaker 4: Like rewind, Let's take an avatar of a client that
- 23:28Speaker 4: comes to me and says, Hey, Kyle, how am I
- 23:29Speaker 4: going to keep these habits on track? I always go
- 23:33Speaker 4: back to, Hey, what did we talk about in our
- 23:35Speaker 4: first consultation. What do we find out is what is
- 23:38Speaker 4: truly important to you? Why are we even doing this
- 23:40Speaker 4: business together in the first place? And that's different for everyone.
- 23:42Speaker 4: Some people it goes back to just wanting to be
- 23:45Speaker 4: loved and accepted. They don't feel comfortable in their bodies.
- 23:47Speaker 4: Some people it's for a specific reason of performance, like sport.
- 23:53Speaker 4: Other people it's they just want to feel good for
- 23:55Speaker 4: the rest of their life, or or they have something
- 23:58Speaker 4: is as simple as like I just want to be
- 24:00Speaker 4: in my seventies. So we always go back to their why. Okay,
- 24:03Speaker 4: call it right, because if you're not, if you're not
- 24:06Speaker 4: aligned with what you're doing in the first place, you're
- 24:08Speaker 4: just going to falter, right, Okay, So I always remind
- 24:11Speaker 4: them like, okay, holidays are coming up, what's important to
- 24:14Speaker 4: you and say that's avatar as well, I want to
- 24:16Speaker 4: be accepted, And I go, how is spending time with
- 24:20Speaker 4: loved ones, having a piece of pumpkin pie and enjoying
- 24:25Speaker 4: yourself for a one day equal not being loved? And
- 24:29Speaker 4: then they go, oh, I guess yeah, it's silly to
- 24:30Speaker 4: think about that, Okay, that way, and then they realize, oh,
- 24:33Speaker 4: I can have the things I want to have. Okay,
- 24:36Speaker 4: So it's it's never just it's it's individual for every person.
- 24:40Speaker 4: And so my advice to them is going to be
- 24:41Speaker 4: based on how they're going to take what I'm going
- 24:44Speaker 4: to say to them, and then again trying to align
- 24:46Speaker 4: them with what we're doing here in the first place.
- 24:48Speaker 1: I love that because you know, most people they hear
- 24:53Speaker 1: I hired a trainer, And the number one thing is
- 24:55Speaker 1: you hired a trainer because you want your body to
- 24:57Speaker 1: be amazing. With you and your clients, it goes way
- 25:01Speaker 1: beyond your body looking amazing, like why are we really here?
- 25:06Speaker 4: Yeah? Like what like a perfect example, say you came
- 25:08Speaker 4: to me said hey, I want my body to be amazing.
- 25:10Speaker 4: I would say, well, what does amazing look like? And
- 25:13Speaker 4: then we would look at that. Okay, well what does
- 25:14Speaker 4: this mean to you? What if you were to wake
- 25:16Speaker 4: up tomorrow and you had this body, how would your
- 25:18Speaker 4: life be different? What would it feel like? What would
- 25:21Speaker 4: would the world be different to you? And maybe it
- 25:23Speaker 4: would you know, and then okay, great, let's uh, let's
- 25:26Speaker 4: figure out how we can get that for you in
- 25:28Speaker 4: a sustainable way that's not going to be you know,
- 25:30Speaker 4: a thirty day challenge or a twelve week you know,
- 25:34Speaker 4: blanket program. Let's figure out how to make what you
- 25:36Speaker 4: want that truly means something to you last for the
- 25:40Speaker 4: next thirty forty years.
- 25:41Speaker 1: Do you find that with your clients you even though
- 25:46Speaker 1: they come to you with their original idea of I
- 25:50Speaker 1: just want to be loved and accepted, does that change
- 25:53Speaker 1: throughout your guys's time together? Like for me, because I
- 25:58Speaker 1: know me, maybe a few years ago I'd say I
- 26:01Speaker 1: want an ask like Beyonce in the stomach like Jennifer Lopez. Well,
- 26:06Speaker 1: that really wouldn't change my life. Like now, if you
- 26:08Speaker 1: were to ask me what I want, it would for me,
- 26:11Speaker 1: I want to work out. I want to feel comfortable
- 26:13Speaker 1: in my body. But for me it's strictly my mental health.
- 26:17Speaker 1: When I move my body, I feel better. So do
- 26:20Speaker 1: you find with your clients that they choose like they
- 26:25Speaker 1: switch from your original meeting of what the goal is?
- 26:29Speaker 4: Absolutely? We check in my remote clients that I do
- 26:32Speaker 4: over the internet that I've honestly some of them I
- 26:35Speaker 4: haven't been face to face within years. When clients back
- 26:39Speaker 4: in Nashville were removed from we check in. I check
- 26:42Speaker 4: in with all my clients once a month, and we
- 26:44Speaker 4: have these deep conversations like how's everything going?
- 26:46Speaker 1: Right?
- 26:47Speaker 4: A lot of times the goal changes, but that's great. Yeah,
- 26:51Speaker 4: people grow, the things they care about grow. A lot
- 26:54Speaker 4: of times they reach those goals and they realize, oh,
- 26:56Speaker 4: it really wasn't about what I thought it was about.
- 26:59Speaker 4: Now I have a new goal. So then the program changes,
- 27:01Speaker 4: the training changes, right, And.
- 27:03Speaker 3: Just so people understand when you refer to like program training,
- 27:07Speaker 3: So why don't you give like a quick just like
- 27:10Speaker 3: what you a quick rundown of, like what you do
- 27:12Speaker 3: with a client.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Yeah, because it seems to me like your program is
- 27:18Speaker 1: way more than just like, hey, come in and lift
- 27:22Speaker 1: these dumbbells. Right.
- 27:23Speaker 4: So, ultimately, what it is, it's a it's a lifestyle,
- 27:27Speaker 4: nutrition and exercise program that is tailored to people's deepest,
- 27:33Speaker 4: deepest desires are what they want for their life. And
- 27:37Speaker 4: you know, everyone wants different things, and everyone starts at
- 27:39Speaker 4: different points, and everyone moves different and everyone digests food differently,
- 27:43Speaker 4: everyone has a different outlook on food. It's it's it's truly,
- 27:48Speaker 4: every single person is like a new science experiment. I
- 27:51Speaker 4: love that.
- 27:51Speaker 1: Yeah, So you focus on mental, emotional, physical, everything is
- 27:57Speaker 1: kind of grouped into one thing.
- 27:59Speaker 4: Yeah, as it is right, of course, like you just said, oh,
- 28:02Speaker 4: I think that's a really it's interesting that you're aware
- 28:05Speaker 4: enough of yourself that you feel more mentally clear when
- 28:09Speaker 4: you move. And I don't think that's a secret at all.
- 28:12Speaker 4: And actually there's a lot of evidence to support that
- 28:16Speaker 4: we as humans have a daily requirement of an energy expenditure.
- 28:20Speaker 4: And I would even venture to say that a lot
- 28:23Speaker 4: of anxieties and stress caused ailments in our society nowadays
- 28:29Speaker 4: are caused by the immobility of people that you know,
- 28:33Speaker 4: sit in front of their computers all day now on
- 28:36Speaker 4: Zoom working and they can have food delivered to their door.
- 28:39Speaker 4: They don't have to really get up or move. And
- 28:41Speaker 4: I think a lot of stress and hypertension and things
- 28:44Speaker 4: that people feel could be alleviated if they just went
- 28:46Speaker 4: for walks daily, like something as simple as that could
- 28:49Speaker 4: change a lot of people's outlook.
- 28:50Speaker 3: And you program things for people like so he does,
- 28:55Speaker 3: just because when I hear him say program, it's like, oh, well,
- 28:58Speaker 3: what is that? So he'll do one on one training
- 29:00Speaker 3: where it's like in person, and then you also do
- 29:02Speaker 3: remote which is just like he has clients in Nashville
- 29:05Speaker 3: that he there's this app and he programs and he
- 29:07Speaker 3: checks in and all that. But don't you program for
- 29:11Speaker 3: people as simple as like walks and nutrition all the
- 29:14Speaker 3: way up to like stuff that I would never do
- 29:16Speaker 3: because it's like athletic people.
- 29:19Speaker 4: Yeah, and it always goes back to the individual. Right,
- 29:22Speaker 4: What what is the I call it the minimum effect
- 29:26Speaker 4: of dose? What is the low or lowest hanging fruit
- 29:29Speaker 4: is the way to think of that. What is the
- 29:30Speaker 4: simplest thing I can give you that's going to give
- 29:32Speaker 4: you the most impact right now that you can do
- 29:35Speaker 4: that's going to lead you to the next thing that's
- 29:36Speaker 4: going to give you the biggest impact. Right instead of
- 29:39Speaker 4: just giving someone a tempt like hey, do all these
- 29:43Speaker 4: movements and eat this strict diet and I'll talk to
- 29:46Speaker 4: you in a month, you know, like, yeah, that'll work
- 29:49Speaker 4: for a handful of people. But that's not going to
- 29:51Speaker 4: work for everyone, right.
- 29:53Speaker 1: I would say for the most part, it wouldn't work
- 29:55Speaker 1: for just I think the day and age that we
- 29:57Speaker 1: live in. In order to be connected to what the
- 30:01Speaker 1: goal is, I feel like you would have to really
- 30:04Speaker 1: make lifestyle changes as far as communicating with you, making
- 30:08Speaker 1: sure you stay on track, because I don't even how
- 30:11Speaker 1: long does it take to break a habit.
- 30:14Speaker 2: You, I've heard twenty one days.
- 30:16Speaker 3: So I've heard it takes twenty one days of like,
- 30:18Speaker 3: let's say I feel that I'm like addicted to sugar,
- 30:22Speaker 3: and I'm like, I need to cut out sugar. I've
- 30:24Speaker 3: heard this might not be correct. I don't know if
- 30:27Speaker 3: you know anything about this, Kyle, but I've heard if
- 30:29Speaker 3: I were to go without sugar for twenty one days.
- 30:32Speaker 3: After twenty one days, it would be the craving, yes,
- 30:35Speaker 3: the cravings.
- 30:35Speaker 4: Of Yes, you guys are gonna get sick of this.
- 30:38Speaker 4: But the answer to everything is it depends. Yeah, it depends.
- 30:41Speaker 4: It depends on what the rest of your life is
- 30:43Speaker 4: set up for. If you go twenty one days without sugar,
- 30:45Speaker 4: but you don't sleep well and you do strenuous activity
- 30:49Speaker 4: that you're not necessarily ready for, you're doing a big
- 30:53Speaker 4: disservice to your recovery. And there's a lot of evidence
- 30:57Speaker 4: with recovery and lack of sleep leading to more cravings
- 31:01Speaker 4: for things.
- 31:02Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's that's always I thought.
- 31:05Speaker 3: Something I've thought was interesting that Kyle taught me because
- 31:08Speaker 3: I do his programming and he The two things I've
- 31:11Speaker 3: always thought was interesting is the importance of being happy.
- 31:17Speaker 2: What is it happy, hungry, and horny?
- 31:19Speaker 3: Is like, if you feel happy, hungry, and horny, then
- 31:24Speaker 3: it's a good sign of health because a lot of
- 31:25Speaker 3: people like their libido is.
- 31:27Speaker 2: Down a lot of times or they're not feeling happy
- 31:30Speaker 2: or hungry.
- 31:31Speaker 4: Right.
- 31:31Speaker 3: And then the other thing that I've always thought is
- 31:33Speaker 3: interesting is the importance of sleep. Like when I first
- 31:38Speaker 3: started with Kyle, he was like, we're not going to
- 31:40Speaker 3: do anything until you can get your sleep and your diet,
- 31:44Speaker 3: and we'll do light activity because right now your sleep's
- 31:46Speaker 3: all over the place and the way you're eating is crazy.
- 31:49Speaker 3: I mean he said it to me because I'm his girlfriend.
- 31:51Speaker 3: He wouldn't talk to clients.
- 31:52Speaker 2: Like this, but and so let's get these in line.
- 31:55Speaker 3: And it was like insane because I was one of
- 31:57Speaker 3: those people who was like sleep and food whatever, but
- 32:01Speaker 3: I have to be in the gym for an hour.
- 32:03Speaker 1: I think I think most people are like that. Just yeah,
- 32:06Speaker 1: I think most people put that over the sleep and
- 32:10Speaker 1: what they eat. And my old trainer, who's also a
- 32:15Speaker 1: dear friend of mine, always said, you cannot outwork a
- 32:19Speaker 1: bad diet.
- 32:21Speaker 4: Yeah, that's a that's a that's a great saying. And
- 32:24Speaker 4: it's true. The problem. Here's the thing, here's the deal.
- 32:27Speaker 4: The way the way you just describe like a lot
- 32:30Speaker 4: of people prioritize exercise or or you know, don't really
- 32:35Speaker 4: think about sleep. That's not your fault. I mean there's
- 32:39Speaker 4: billions of dollars spent every year. Go on Instagram. Look
- 32:44Speaker 4: at your explorer page. How many things do you see
- 32:48Speaker 4: about I'll sleep when I'm dead, the grind never stops, hustle, hustle,
- 32:52Speaker 4: exhaust just seeing. Yeah, And it's all just like sexy,
- 32:55Speaker 4: flashy exercise movements. Like how am I supposed to sell you?
- 32:59Speaker 4: If you sit down for a constation with me and like,
- 33:01Speaker 4: all right, I want to get in shape, And I said, cool,
- 33:04Speaker 4: just sleep, drink half of your body weight announces a
- 33:07Speaker 4: day and go just go for walks and your life
- 33:09Speaker 4: will transfer.
- 33:10Speaker 2: Drink half of your body weight announces.
- 33:11Speaker 4: Of water, Oh water, not tequila. Like that's so unsexy,
- 33:18Speaker 4: as opposed to me being like okay, cool, we're gonna
- 33:20Speaker 4: do like all these kettlebell flows, and we're gonna have
- 33:22Speaker 4: you do this special class, and we're gonna do this
- 33:24Speaker 4: fat shredding program. We're gonna do this, Like I can
- 33:26Speaker 4: sell that because that's what's being sold, right, that's what
- 33:30Speaker 4: you see as the effectiveness. But really, our bodies have
- 33:36Speaker 4: been around for thirty thousand plus years and they've evolved
- 33:39Speaker 4: from just walking forging food in the sunlight, being around
- 33:44Speaker 4: small groups of people being happy. Yeah, like, that's that's
- 33:48Speaker 4: so simple, And people don't need coaches. People don't need
- 33:51Speaker 4: to pay coaches to tell them that, but or they
- 33:55Speaker 4: shouldn't need a coach to tell them that, but they do,
- 33:57Speaker 4: and that's really what it is. But I can't how
- 34:00Speaker 4: do you sell that that sound sexy?
- 34:01Speaker 3: I used to love working out in front of a
- 34:03Speaker 3: trainer when I was single, if it was a guy
- 34:05Speaker 3: and he was good looking, because I liked showing off.
- 34:07Speaker 3: Like if he said, like, do a deep squat, I'd
- 34:10Speaker 3: be like, I'll see how in deep this what could be?
- 34:12Speaker 3: And so I think a lot of people, yes, maybe
- 34:15Speaker 3: they don't need certain trainers.
- 34:17Speaker 2: Like I know a lot of your clients.
- 34:19Speaker 3: I know a couple of your clients personally, and they're
- 34:21Speaker 3: like one of them has gotten shredded with you. Shout
- 34:26Speaker 3: out to Adam and he probably could go without you,
- 34:31Speaker 3: but he's like, it's having Kyle there to support syse, yeah,
- 34:35Speaker 3: and be like, good job, keep doing it.
- 34:37Speaker 2: Let's challenge and I.
- 34:39Speaker 1: Think that's worth the money when you have someone in
- 34:42Speaker 1: your corner who can walk you through things that sound
- 34:46Speaker 1: very simple. But again, we live in a world where
- 34:50Speaker 1: that's not so simple anymore. We're addicted to our phones.
- 34:52Speaker 1: Who's doing what? Oh my god, her ass looks so good?
- 34:55Speaker 1: What'd she do?
- 34:55Speaker 4: Is that squats?
- 34:56Speaker 1: Is that fat injections her lip? It's constant information. So
- 35:00Speaker 1: to slow down and keep yourself on the right path
- 35:04Speaker 1: all by yourself is very difficult. Oh yeah, yeah.
- 35:09Speaker 3: What if Laala came to you and said, Kyle, only
- 35:11Speaker 3: because Lala and I talked about this like last week,
- 35:13Speaker 3: said Kyle, I want to gain ten pounds just in
- 35:16Speaker 3: my ass.
- 35:17Speaker 5: Oh yeah, what would you tell me?
- 35:18Speaker 4: The first question would be why?
- 35:21Speaker 5: Because I've always wanted a fat ass.
- 35:24Speaker 4: What do you think of having a fat ass will bring.
- 35:26Speaker 5: You happiness or cushion for the pushing?
- 35:29Speaker 4: Maybe? Hey, that's and that's valid. There's no, there's no.
- 35:33Speaker 1: I've always liked the look of a big ass, but
- 35:37Speaker 1: a real big ass, I don't know that.
- 35:39Speaker 4: I'm like one made of muscle.
- 35:41Speaker 1: Yeah, like one that's like, didn't it wasn't injected. Not
- 35:45Speaker 1: to say that I don't see bodies like that and go,
- 35:47Speaker 1: oh my god, that like I want that. I just
- 35:51Speaker 1: can't get down with someone injecting or placing anything to
- 35:54Speaker 1: my ass. So I want it to be real, But
- 35:56Speaker 1: I mean, is that even possible. I'm a very small person.
- 36:00Speaker 4: It depends, So let's talk about what it depends on.
- 36:03Speaker 4: It depends on your previous training history. Call your training age,
- 36:09Speaker 4: like how long have you been working out? Newbies are
- 36:12Speaker 4: something called newbie gains. If you go from doing nothing
- 36:14Speaker 4: to something, you see huge gains because your body it's new.
- 36:18Speaker 4: But someone like me not to shoot my own horn,
- 36:20Speaker 4: but I've been doing this for you know, almost ten years.
- 36:24Speaker 4: The changes I'm going to see in my body are
- 36:26Speaker 4: going to be very small because I'm reaching a point
- 36:29Speaker 4: where your body everyone has this the mass physical potential.
- 36:34Speaker 4: And then after that it's a downslope. But it's how
- 36:37Speaker 4: is that downslope going to look? Is it going to
- 36:39Speaker 4: be a hard right angle or is it going to
- 36:41Speaker 4: be a nice long slope. So if you want to
- 36:44Speaker 4: gain ten pounds in just your ass, I would say
- 36:47Speaker 4: that's impossible because I because you're not going to gain.
- 36:54Speaker 4: If you're going to gain ten pounds in your butt,
- 36:56Speaker 4: you're also going to be gaining a lot of muscle.
- 36:59Speaker 1: All and your legs.
- 37:01Speaker 4: And for you to gain ten pounds in just your
- 37:03Speaker 4: butt would mean the rest of the muscle that would
- 37:05Speaker 4: have to be gained on your entire body. I think
- 37:07Speaker 4: would be just a couple of things. The fact that
- 37:10Speaker 4: your chemical makeup as a woman, your age, your chronological
- 37:14Speaker 4: age matters because hormones change over time. And then the
- 37:17Speaker 4: fact that I don't think you're willing to stop doing
- 37:21Speaker 4: everything else in your life except mother ocean and lift
- 37:25Speaker 4: weights every day all day and eating sleep. So I
- 37:28Speaker 4: would say that's impossible, and I would say you honestly
- 37:31Speaker 4: wouldn't want tap really now. I would say this though,
- 37:38Speaker 4: if you wanted to go on daily walks and make
- 37:42Speaker 4: sure that you're eating enough protein and managing your stress
- 37:45Speaker 4: and sleeping well and doing some sort of resistance training
- 37:50Speaker 4: like squats, deadlifts, lunges that target your butt, don't see
- 37:53Speaker 4: it change like a little bit round.
- 37:56Speaker 3: I love bound muscular, but I'm gonna push back because
- 38:00Speaker 3: Kim Kardashian said she had a trainer, and she said,
- 38:03Speaker 3: I want to get to one hundred and this might
- 38:06Speaker 3: be the wrong number, one hundred and fifteen pounds, and
- 38:08Speaker 3: the trainer said looked at her and said, that's impossible.
- 38:12Speaker 2: And then Kanye told her. This was before they got divorced.
- 38:15Speaker 3: Kanye told her fire that trainer, because no trainer should
- 38:19Speaker 3: ever tell you it's impossible. So she hires a new trainer,
- 38:22Speaker 3: and then she gets down to one hundred and fifteen
- 38:24Speaker 3: pounds and she posts it, and that's where I read
- 38:26Speaker 3: the story about roling.
- 38:27Speaker 4: Okay, well, what you have to talk about what is
- 38:30Speaker 4: that one hundred and fifteen pounds made of? Because that
- 38:32Speaker 4: trainer could have thought, oh, do you want to be
- 38:35Speaker 4: one hundred and fifteen pounds of no muscle in body fat?
- 38:38Speaker 4: Or do you want to be one hundred and fifteen
- 38:39Speaker 4: pounds of just pure muscle? And I don't know what
- 38:41Speaker 4: the conversation was, but one hundred and fifteen pounds of
- 38:45Speaker 4: body fat vers muscle looks completely different. So depending on
- 38:47Speaker 4: what their conversation was with Kim, if she was describing
- 38:50Speaker 4: the way she wanted her button waste to look in
- 38:53Speaker 4: that conversation, of being one hundred and fifty pounds looking
- 38:55Speaker 4: like that, it probably would be impossible but if Kim said, Hey,
- 38:58Speaker 4: I want to be a hundred fifty pounds of lean
- 39:01Speaker 4: muscle mass, don't That's not I don't. That's not impossible
- 39:03Speaker 4: at all.
- 39:04Speaker 1: It's way more complex than what you're saying. Those complex
- 39:07Speaker 1: Love this conversation. Love leaving on Kim kay in her
- 39:11Speaker 1: one hundred and fifteen pound body. We'll be right back
- 39:13Speaker 1: with Kyle Lampy. We're back. I have a question for you.
- 39:20Speaker 4: Okay, hopefully I have your answer.
- 39:21Speaker 1: I bet you do, and the answer will probably be
- 39:24Speaker 1: it depends, but that's okay.
- 39:26Speaker 4: We need to depend sponsorship.
- 39:29Speaker 1: They need to start targeting the postpartum.
- 39:32Speaker 4: Yeah for real.
- 39:33Speaker 1: Yeah, anyway, so tomorrow people are going to be eating
- 39:37Speaker 1: a lot. Let's just say you work with a client
- 39:41Speaker 1: and you guys have a solid routine, will one day
- 39:46Speaker 1: affect that will one day of them binging whatever they
- 39:50Speaker 1: want affect the progress that they've made.
- 39:54Speaker 4: I know it feels that way, and I know everyone
- 39:57Speaker 4: has felt that way. Like say, on a weekend, you
- 39:59Speaker 4: ate a pizza and just felt like you lost all
- 40:02Speaker 4: your progress. But you have to think how long and
- 40:05Speaker 4: how hard have you worked to get to the point
- 40:07Speaker 4: that you are right now? How many days how much
- 40:10Speaker 4: effort has that taken. There's no way that one meal
- 40:14Speaker 4: is gonna is gonna hurt that effort. And I'll be
- 40:17Speaker 4: honest with you, most people don't eat enough when they
- 40:19Speaker 4: have fitness goals.
- 40:20Speaker 1: It might even help you, Okay, Yeah, because I think
- 40:23Speaker 1: that's what people think about. They go, I've worked so
- 40:26Speaker 1: hard to get to this point and it was a
- 40:28Speaker 1: struggle because everything that's worth having you have to put
- 40:34Speaker 1: in a lot of work. And I think they think
- 40:37Speaker 1: about Thanksgiving as that day where it's like, you do
- 40:40Speaker 1: think about food? When you think of Thanksgiving? You think
- 40:43Speaker 1: of just a feast.
- 40:45Speaker 2: Ye will it.
- 40:46Speaker 1: Ruin all of the progress? Do you? So you're saying no,
- 40:50Speaker 1: I'll take your word for it. Haven't worked on much
- 40:53Speaker 1: with the body, but I'll take your word for it.
- 40:56Speaker 1: What do you do with people when they are worried
- 41:00Speaker 1: about that but you're also focused on their mental health?
- 41:02Speaker 1: And it's like, you want to enjoy yourself, you want
- 41:04Speaker 1: to enjoy people. And if you see the pie, eat
- 41:07Speaker 1: the freaking pie, who gives a shit? We'll pick back up,
- 41:10Speaker 1: you know on Monday, Like how do you get them
- 41:13Speaker 1: to feel okay and not guilty? Because guilt is a
- 41:15Speaker 1: huge thing when it comes to programs.
- 41:18Speaker 4: Like a lot of money made off guilt, Yes, a lot,
- 41:21Speaker 4: I would I would say a lot of the fitness industry.
- 41:24Speaker 4: The growth side of the fitness industry is all about
- 41:25Speaker 4: guilt and your pain points. You're not good enough, you're
- 41:27Speaker 4: not hot enough, right right. What I tell them is
- 41:31Speaker 4: I usually like I talk with my hands, or I'll
- 41:34Speaker 4: draw a picture. Like what I like to do is
- 41:35Speaker 4: draw like a really long line. Okay, like one o
- 41:38Speaker 4: the line you were born, the next the line you're
- 41:40Speaker 4: gonna die. Okay, based on where they are, I'll make
- 41:43Speaker 4: like a little daughter. I'm like, you're right here. You
- 41:44Speaker 4: have so much more time to do whatever you want
- 41:47Speaker 4: and like, but look how far you've already come. You
- 41:50Speaker 4: don't have much left. What is a piece of pie
- 41:52Speaker 4: going to change any of that? Like, go enjoy your
- 41:55Speaker 4: family quality time again. Go have that piece of pie.
- 41:58Speaker 4: And honestly, if you're going to binge on anything, let's
- 42:02Speaker 4: look at what a Thanksgiving meal is. Okay, you've got
- 42:05Speaker 4: a lot of turkey. Okay, protein, excellent protein source. A
- 42:09Speaker 4: lot of people have green beans. There's your greens, micronatrians,
- 42:12Speaker 4: boom mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, great source of carbohydrates, the
- 42:16Speaker 4: type of carbioges you want to eat? What else? Cranberries
- 42:20Speaker 4: like the antioxidants, that's a fruit. What else do you
- 42:23Speaker 4: have for Thanksgiving?
- 42:24Speaker 1: Stuffing?
- 42:25Speaker 4: Stuffing? Carbs usually made with white bread. That's okay. Again,
- 42:29Speaker 4: have the white have the stuffing.
- 42:31Speaker 1: It doesn't hit the same.
- 42:34Speaker 4: But if you're if you are on a serious track
- 42:37Speaker 4: of say you're you're say you're an athlete that has
- 42:42Speaker 4: a lot of money on the line, and or you're
- 42:44Speaker 4: a bodybuilder that has like a competition coming up, you
- 42:47Speaker 4: can still enjoy Thanksgiving. You just have to be caught
- 42:50Speaker 4: conscious of like, Okay, I'm getting enough protein, enough carbs,
- 42:54Speaker 4: and enough Fat's awesome, and you can still sit at
- 42:56Speaker 4: the table and enjoy the meal with your family. You
- 42:58Speaker 4: just have to be a little more aligned with what
- 43:01Speaker 4: your fitness goal is and be realistic about what you're
- 43:04Speaker 4: trying to do and what you're willing to do and
- 43:06Speaker 4: what you're not willing to do.
- 43:07Speaker 1: So if someone was going into like a fitness competition,
- 43:10Speaker 1: you would say, still enjoy everything, because, like you said, Thanksgiving,
- 43:14Speaker 1: a Thanksgiving meal is actually very It's not that unhealthy. No,
- 43:19Speaker 1: I don't love pie pie is a huge part of Thanksgiving,
- 43:22Speaker 1: take it or leave it. Don't like a pumpkin pie
- 43:24Speaker 1: that much, you know, So I'm good there, But you
- 43:28Speaker 1: would say based like you want to sit here and say, okay,
- 43:31Speaker 1: the portions are what matter.
- 43:33Speaker 4: Yeah, and just and also too again it's just one day,
- 43:38Speaker 4: just go for it. But then you also have to
- 43:40Speaker 4: know your client too, because sometimes just go for it
- 43:43Speaker 4: can be a slippery slope and go for it turns
- 43:45Speaker 4: into go for a day two and then go for
- 43:46Speaker 4: a day three, and then you have to get them nothing.
- 43:49Speaker 1: Better than leftovers, absolutely, So would that be something you
- 43:52Speaker 1: talk to them about, like do you like leftovers? Because
- 43:55Speaker 1: if you, if you and I were working together, I'd
- 43:57Speaker 1: be like, here's the deal, Kyle, I go off on Thanksgiving,
- 44:01Speaker 1: but I definitely go off the day after. I'm devouring
- 44:04Speaker 1: all of it. I'm putting the turkey on the roll,
- 44:07Speaker 1: with the Mayo, cranberry sauce, all of it. We're going
- 44:11Speaker 1: two days straight.
- 44:12Speaker 4: Go two days straight. But hey, let's after you have
- 44:15Speaker 4: that roll, cranberry, turkey sauce, grab your family, go for
- 44:19Speaker 4: like a nice little leisurely.
- 44:22Speaker 1: So there's always a solution, always.
- 44:25Speaker 3: Yeah, And I live with Kyle and he's also my trainer,
- 44:30Speaker 3: and it's it's nice to see you actually practicing what
- 44:34Speaker 3: you preach as far as like Kyle is not this
- 44:37Speaker 3: crazy strict like diet on Thanksgiving.
- 44:41Speaker 2: I'm only gonna eat a tiny amount like.
- 44:43Speaker 1: Like no car no, not even on Thanksgiving.
- 44:46Speaker 4: I or I ate half a pint of ice cream yesterday.
- 44:51Speaker 1: Yeah. I think that's great. I think that our listeners
- 44:54Speaker 1: are going to be very into this. And here's why.
- 44:59Speaker 1: Back to what we see on a daily basis of
- 45:03Speaker 1: what is normal. Everything is so normalized when it couldn't
- 45:08Speaker 1: be further from normal. We've lost touch with the importance
- 45:13Speaker 1: of life quality time enjoying a fucking pizza while we
- 45:18Speaker 1: watch The Grinch. You know, everything is about appearance, and
- 45:23Speaker 1: if you don't have the appearance, you do what I do.
- 45:26Speaker 1: Hit the snow app I only make my lips bigger
- 45:28Speaker 1: off the snow app though maybe take away my malasma.
- 45:31Speaker 1: But I mean you can literally make your ass bigger,
- 45:34Speaker 1: your waist smaller. Like nothing is as it seems, so
- 45:38Speaker 1: having you talk about the timeline and like what is
- 45:42Speaker 1: the one Thanksgiving and your piece of pie going to do?
- 45:46Speaker 2: Yeah, that's relatable.
- 45:47Speaker 1: People, need to hear that that It's that you're not
- 45:49Speaker 1: someone who comes in here and is.
- 45:51Speaker 4: Like, I'm a trainer. No days off now you know
- 45:56Speaker 4: those days off equals no results. You need to recover
- 45:58Speaker 4: any yourbody needs to hear or you're just spinning your wheels.
- 46:01Speaker 1: Right. Yeah, it makes so much sense. And I love
- 46:04Speaker 1: the fact that you're because I feel like a lot
- 46:07Speaker 1: of trainers say that they combine the mental with the physical.
- 46:12Speaker 1: But they may preach that they do that, but then
- 46:15Speaker 1: as you're working with them, it's like, well that my
- 46:17Speaker 1: mentals fucked because you're telling me I need to work
- 46:20Speaker 1: out every single day and I told you I eat
- 46:22Speaker 1: a cookie maybe twenty Yeah, and you're upset at me
- 46:28Speaker 1: for it, you know. Yeah, And when you tell me
- 46:31Speaker 1: I shouldn't have eaten twenty cookies, the guilt sets in.
- 46:34Speaker 1: I'm looking for you to have resolved fix the problem.
- 46:38Speaker 1: If I eat twenty cookies, what do I do? What
- 46:40Speaker 1: do I do about it? You know?
- 46:42Speaker 4: Why did you eat twenty cookies? Maybe we need to
- 46:44Speaker 4: look at your protein and take Maybe you're not getting
- 46:46Speaker 4: enough protein and that's why you're craving.
- 46:47Speaker 1: You know.
- 46:47Speaker 4: It's like there's always something.
- 46:48Speaker 1: There's always something to dive into. Yeah, oh my gosh,
- 46:52Speaker 1: my mind is so shuck. I love it. It may
- 46:54Speaker 1: not be that I eat twenty cookies because I was bored.
- 46:57Speaker 1: I could be lacking.
- 46:58Speaker 4: Cookie or your body, your body, This is the deal.
- 47:02Speaker 4: Our bodies are smarter than us. Our bodies just want
- 47:07Speaker 4: to survive and it'll do whatever it needs to survive
- 47:10Speaker 4: as long as it keeps your heart beating and your
- 47:12Speaker 4: lungs breathing and your brain moving.
- 47:15Speaker 1: Like.
- 47:15Speaker 4: That's what an intense craving is is. You are just
- 47:17Speaker 4: your body's going, we need energy, and you're obviously not
- 47:21Speaker 4: feeding us. I don't know if you're trying to kill
- 47:23Speaker 4: us or whatever, but we're going to reach for the easiest,
- 47:25Speaker 4: quickest energy, that's the most palatable, so will continue to
- 47:28Speaker 4: eat it. And what you usually is that processed for
- 47:32Speaker 4: things that are easy to eat. They taste good and
- 47:34Speaker 4: it gives us energy, although short and not sustainable, but
- 47:38Speaker 4: it's still energy. And your body's going like this is shit,
- 47:42Speaker 4: but thank you for now. Okay?
- 47:45Speaker 1: Yeah, So do you find I find after a big
- 47:48Speaker 1: Thanksgiving meal, I then have the munchies that night. What
- 47:52Speaker 1: do I do about that?
- 47:54Speaker 4: What do you do about that? This is what I
- 47:55Speaker 4: would say. A lot of the parts of Thanksgiving are
- 47:59Speaker 4: a lot of processed carbs, think of like pies and
- 48:02Speaker 4: sugar and all those things added to that. So you
- 48:04Speaker 4: processed carbs spike your blood sugar, which you know signals
- 48:08Speaker 4: hunger signals, So that might be one of the reasons
- 48:11Speaker 4: I would say to stave that off, have an extra
- 48:13Speaker 4: portion of turkey, okay, so you get some more protein,
- 48:17Speaker 4: Have an extra portion of greens of some sort.
- 48:19Speaker 1: Okay, and.
- 48:22Speaker 4: Boom there you go.
- 48:23Speaker 1: Start slapping the fucking leftovers. Yeah already.
- 48:27Speaker 2: And then if I still want a piece of pie,
- 48:29Speaker 2: I'm gonna have a piece of.
- 48:30Speaker 4: A piece of pie. Yeah, do it.
- 48:33Speaker 1: I'm so into all of this.
- 48:34Speaker 2: Yeah yeah.
- 48:36Speaker 1: I mean with all of that, I really want to
- 48:38Speaker 1: send our listeners into this holiday feeling like they can
- 48:43Speaker 1: go and enjoy their lives. I mean I know I
- 48:46Speaker 1: can now, Oh.
- 48:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I can too, And they can. If you do
