- 0:44Speaker 1: We're in chapter 4. Today's verse is John chapter 4,
- 0:48Speaker 1: verses 13 and 14. I'm calling this one Living Water.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Living Water. And Jesus explains to the woman at the well,
- 0:57Speaker 1: the Samaritan woman, that He offers us a water that
- 1:03Speaker 1: when we drink of his water, we will never thirst again. Incredible. Amen. Incredible.
- 1:10Speaker 1: So we're going to pray first. After we pray, we'll
- 1:13Speaker 1: get right into today's morning devo. It's called Living Water,
- 1:16Speaker 1: John chapter 4, verses 13 and 14. The idea of
- 1:20Speaker 1: this series is to take a couple of verses from
- 1:23Speaker 1: each chapter of the book of John as we move
- 1:25Speaker 1: through this book. Amen. Pastor Michael Jakes, good morning. God
- 1:29Speaker 1: bless you. Yes, praise the Lord. It's good to see
- 1:31Speaker 1: you on the Morning Devo. So let's pray. Father, in
- 1:33Speaker 1: the name of Jesus, I thank you so much for
- 1:35Speaker 1: the opportunity that you give right now. The opportunity that
- 1:39Speaker 1: you give us to pray, to speak our heart towards you,
- 1:42Speaker 1: Lord God, to ask, to intercede on behalf of others,
- 1:47Speaker 1: to know that you are with us and in us
- 1:48Speaker 1: and working through us. I pray, Lord God, that you
- 1:50Speaker 1: would have your way during this morning devotion. That, Lord God,
- 1:54Speaker 1: that you would satisfy our every desire as you always do.
- 1:57Speaker 1: I pray, Lord God, I had your protection over me, myself,
- 2:01Speaker 1: my family, my wife, our children, my whole bloodline from
- 2:04Speaker 1: the youngest to the oldest and every single person in between.
- 2:07Speaker 1: I pray faith forward, knowing that you are able and
- 2:09Speaker 1: willing to do exactly what you said you would do
- 2:12Speaker 1: according to your promise and your word for our lives.
- 2:16Speaker 1: I pray, Lord God, that the faith of the mustard
- 2:19Speaker 1: seed that you said in your word would be there
- 2:22Speaker 1: in our spirit, in our mind, in our soul, and
- 2:25Speaker 1: that it would increase our Our faith will increase. I pray,
- 2:28Speaker 1: Lord God, that you continue to put health to our body,
- 2:32Speaker 1: strength and bones. Lord God, that you would do a
- 2:34Speaker 1: magnificent work in our hearts and that we will glorify
- 2:37Speaker 1: your name and make a lot of you, make much
- 2:40Speaker 1: of you, Lord Jesus, that we would know that, Lord God,
- 2:43Speaker 1: that you are with us and in us and working
- 2:45Speaker 1: through us for the glory of your kingdom, for the
- 2:48Speaker 1: glory of God. I pray this by faith, knowing that
- 2:51Speaker 1: you hear these prayers and you answer them accordingly to
- 2:53Speaker 1: every single person's individual need. In Jesus' name, I pray
- 2:57Speaker 1: this by faith. And those who agree, we say amen
- 3:00Speaker 1: to the amen. So let me get back to the
- 3:03Speaker 1: screen here. And let's move this forward by way of
- 3:08Speaker 1: this little tech we have here. This one's called Living Water,
- 3:12Speaker 1: John chapter 4, verses 13 and 14. Jesus says, everyone
- 3:19Speaker 1: who drinks this water will be thirsty again. referring to
- 3:26Speaker 1: the water coming from that well. But whoever drinks the
- 3:30Speaker 1: water that I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the
- 3:36Speaker 1: water I give him will become in him a fount
- 3:41Speaker 1: of water springing up to eternal life. Now this eternal
- 3:47Speaker 1: life part, it's only God can give you eternal life.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Jesus being the God-man, amen, promises you and me eternal life.
- 4:00Speaker 1: This is an amazing work of God. There's nothing that
- 4:03Speaker 1: I could do or say that can guarantee you eternal life.
- 4:08Speaker 1: But Jesus says, the water that he gives us will
- 4:12Speaker 1: become in us a fountain of water springing up to
- 4:16Speaker 1: eternal life. That's a claim, that's a God claim. Jesus said,
- 4:21Speaker 1: I give. He didn't say, you know, the Father is
- 4:26Speaker 1: the only one who gives, or the Spirit is the
- 4:28Speaker 1: only one who gives. He says, I give. That's a
- 4:33Speaker 1: total exclusive claim by the Lord Jesus Christ. Amazing claim,
- 4:40Speaker 1: as a matter of fact. So there's a lot here. Amen?
- 4:43Speaker 1: There's a lot here. But the background of this is
- 4:48Speaker 1: that there was a woman at the well, and Jesus
- 4:50Speaker 1: met this woman at the well, a Samaritan woman, right?
- 4:53Speaker 1: And Because Jesus was a Jew, right? And this lady
- 4:58Speaker 1: was Samaritan. It was unheard of, especially in those days
- 5:02Speaker 1: in that culture for a man to approach a woman,
- 5:05Speaker 1: especially those two separate backgrounds, ethnic backgrounds, right? In those days.
- 5:15Speaker 1: But Jesus broke the code. He broke tradition. Everywhere he went,
- 5:19Speaker 1: he did something according to his holiness and righteousness. He
- 5:23Speaker 1: only did with the Father. told them to do. That's
- 5:25Speaker 1: what the Lord claimed. He only says what the Father
- 5:28Speaker 1: tells him to say. So at this meeting with this
- 5:31Speaker 1: woman at that particular well, amen, Jesus opens her eyes
- 5:36Speaker 1: to the fact that he is the one who gives
- 5:39Speaker 1: this eternal water, that he is the one that could
- 5:42Speaker 1: only be the God-man. He's the only one. So there
- 5:47Speaker 1: are things in this world that we face, right, that
- 5:51Speaker 1: can satisfy us, but only temporarily. So this is what
- 5:55Speaker 1: Jesus is saying. That water, that drug, that relationship, that money,
- 6:02Speaker 1: that possession, that car, that house will only satisfy you
- 6:08Speaker 1: for the moment. But Jesus is saying, I will satisfy
- 6:13Speaker 1: you for all eternity. The things in the world that
- 6:16Speaker 1: can satisfy us for a moment, eventually, eventually, those things
- 6:22Speaker 1: will make you thirsty again. I saw an interview years ago.
- 6:27Speaker 1: They were interviewing a rich man. And the interviewer asked
- 6:32Speaker 1: the rich man, how much money will it take to satisfy?
- 6:37Speaker 1: Now that you're a multimillionaire, I think this man was
- 6:40Speaker 1: actually a billionaire. How much money would it take? And
- 6:44Speaker 1: he said, more. He said, it would take more to
- 6:48Speaker 1: continue to satisfy me. That's incredible to me. I'm like,
- 6:52Speaker 1: you give me $ 100, 000, I think I'll be okay. This
- 6:55Speaker 1: man had billions of dollars and he was asking for
- 6:58Speaker 1: more because in that temporary moment of satisfaction with the money,
- 7:04Speaker 1: the cars, the fame, the accolades, the relationships, all of
- 7:09Speaker 1: that that he had, he was literally telling the person
- 7:12Speaker 1: that was interviewing him, it's not enough. Can you imagine that?
- 7:16Speaker 1: That's why the scripture says you could gain the whole world,
- 7:19Speaker 1: but what is it to gain the whole world and
- 7:21Speaker 1: lose your soul, right? In other words, there's more value
- 7:26Speaker 1: in my soul and in your soul than there is
- 7:29Speaker 1: in monetary gain, right? Or whatever you're trying to accomplish
- 7:35Speaker 1: separate from God. If God is not in your accomplishments,
- 7:41Speaker 1: then you're doing something that will only satisfy you and
- 7:44Speaker 1: I for a moment, right? So success can't permanently, and
- 7:49Speaker 1: we know this, we see this all the time, success
- 7:52Speaker 1: can't permanently satisfy you. Think about that. Money can permanently
- 7:57Speaker 1: satisfy you. Relationships, possessions, popularity, especially on these platforms, on
- 8:05Speaker 1: social media, will not satisfy you. No way. No how. Amen?
- 8:10Speaker 1: It's a matter of perspective. If you have the perspective
- 8:14Speaker 1: of the kingdom mindset, you will know that right away.
- 8:17Speaker 1: And it's not even an argument. We all know that
- 8:22Speaker 1: this world offers so much. I used to be a
- 8:25Speaker 1: part of this world system, right? And probably you are
- 8:29Speaker 1: in the world system or you were part of the
- 8:32Speaker 1: world system before. But we all know that that's a
- 8:35Speaker 1: temporary satisfaction. Sorry for looking down. I just want to
- 8:41Speaker 1: share this to the group before I forget while we're live. Amen.
- 8:45Speaker 1: So that you'll share technology, right? So we know that
- 8:51Speaker 1: for sure. So that Jesus comes alive. on the scene
- 8:54Speaker 1: and says, yeah, I know all of that. I know
- 8:56Speaker 1: the heart of man. I created, right? Jesus is the creator.
- 9:01Speaker 1: He created man. He knows the intents of our hearts.
- 9:06Speaker 1: So he's the one who satisfies us completely. The world system, possessions, money, popularity,
- 9:14Speaker 1: social media, influencing, and all that stuff is only a
- 9:16Speaker 1: temporary fix. Even accomplishments can leave you searching for something
- 9:23Speaker 1: more Like when I was in the world, literally, when
- 9:27Speaker 1: God started opening my eyes to who he was, amen,
- 9:31Speaker 1: I did so much in the world and it left
- 9:34Speaker 1: me empty. That was actually one of the reasons why
- 9:40Speaker 1: I called God out. And I was drunk and high.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Some of you know my testimony. I called out to
- 9:45Speaker 1: him drunk and high. I said, listen, I did everything
- 9:48Speaker 1: that this world said to do. And I was trying
- 9:50Speaker 1: to get good at it or better at it. and
- 9:54Speaker 1: I was still left empty. So I knew there had
- 9:56Speaker 1: to be more to life than what I was currently living.
- 10:00Speaker 1: experiencing at the time. There had to be more. It
- 10:03Speaker 1: wasn't making any sense that I did all those things
- 10:08Speaker 1: that the world said, oh, if you do this, you'll
- 10:10Speaker 1: have that, and you'll be happy, and you'll be satisfied.
- 10:14Speaker 1: But what a lie that was. A pipe dream, right,
- 10:17Speaker 1: that we call it. Jesus the Christ offers us something different.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Jesus the Christ, our Messiah, my Messiah, our Lord, our Savior, amen,
- 10:28Speaker 1: offers us living water. The water that he provides, the
- 10:33Speaker 1: water that he offers leads us to eternal life. It
- 10:37Speaker 1: springs up in us, right, like a fountain of water
- 10:42Speaker 1: that leads to spring up eternal life inside of you
- 10:47Speaker 1: and inside of me. So when Jesus spoke to the
- 10:50Speaker 1: Samaritan woman at the well, right, he wasn't just talking
- 10:55Speaker 1: about physical water. It's obvious because they were at the well.
- 11:00Speaker 1: He was like, well, how are you going to draw
- 11:01Speaker 1: this water up? He wasn't talking literally just about physical water.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Jesus was revealing that the deepest thirst in our souls
- 11:13Speaker 1: can only be satisfied through him. Check that out. Only
- 11:20Speaker 1: through the Lord Jesus can you and I be eternally satisfied,
- 11:24Speaker 1: completely satisfied. We won't have to need anything else to
- 11:30Speaker 1: satisfy us once we have the Lord Jesus Christ. You
- 11:33Speaker 1: might be saying, that's a stretch. You could easily say
- 11:35Speaker 1: that because you were probably born and raised in a church,
- 11:38Speaker 1: which is not true. I wasn't born and raised in
- 11:40Speaker 1: a church. But you could easily say, oh yeah, your
- 11:42Speaker 1: religion says that. You could easily say, you could dismiss
- 11:45Speaker 1: what I just said, that comment. But the bottom line is,
- 11:48Speaker 1: you know it's true because You have tried so many
- 11:51Speaker 1: things in this world and this life to try to satisfy.
- 11:56Speaker 1: And you know once that quick fix or that temporary
- 11:59Speaker 1: satisfaction wears out, you know that there has to be more.
- 12:04Speaker 1: If you're honest today with yourself, you know that your
- 12:08Speaker 1: heart is not complete. if you don't have the Lord
- 12:10Speaker 1: Jesus Christ in your heart, if you don't have the God-man,
- 12:14Speaker 1: if you don't have Holy Spirit, Guach Elohim, if you
- 12:16Speaker 1: don't have Yahweh, the Creator God, amen, the Father God,
- 12:19Speaker 1: if you don't have Jesus in your life, you will
- 12:23Speaker 1: never be satisfied. You can take that to the bank.
- 12:26Speaker 1: You can test that. You can try that. Amen. I
- 12:30Speaker 1: dare you to read the Scriptures for yourself. Read the
- 12:32Speaker 1: book of John for yourself and see the life of Jesus,
- 12:35Speaker 1: the love that He has for us. John 3.16 says,
- 12:39Speaker 1: For God so loved, the Father so loved the world
- 12:43Speaker 1: that he sent, he didn't create Jesus, he sent his
- 12:46Speaker 1: only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him shall have what?
- 12:52Speaker 1: Eternal life. Not perish, but have eternal life. Jesus, in
- 12:57Speaker 1: this scenario with the Samaritan woman, says, Listen, the water
- 13:01Speaker 1: that we could draw from here, it will satisfy you temporarily.
- 13:06Speaker 1: But then after it satisfies you, you take the water
- 13:09Speaker 1: back to your village, you're going to be thirsty again.
- 13:11Speaker 1: But the water that Jesus was offering at that moment,
- 13:16Speaker 1: at that time, is offering us in this moment, in
- 13:19Speaker 1: this time, is the water that will become in us
- 13:23Speaker 1: a fount of water springing up to eternal life. This
- 13:28Speaker 1: is good. This is good news. This is an opportunity
- 13:31Speaker 1: for us to experience what God can do in the
- 13:34Speaker 1: hearts and minds of any individual who says yes to
- 13:37Speaker 1: the Lord. Right? So are you trying to fill your
- 13:41Speaker 1: life with things that were never designed to satisfy your spirit?
- 13:48Speaker 1: Think about it. All these things that we see on
- 13:52Speaker 1: social media, the internet, TV, in the movies, all those
- 13:56Speaker 1: things are ideas from people that say, if we put
- 13:59Speaker 1: this on a screen, if we put this in the
- 14:01Speaker 1: social media, if we put this in a post, it's
- 14:04Speaker 1: going to gain a lot of people's attention, right? And
- 14:09Speaker 1: then if they use this product that I have or
- 14:11Speaker 1: that product that I have, or if you buy the
- 14:13Speaker 1: course that I offer, or if you sow into a
- 14:16Speaker 1: ministry or to a church, you know, then you'll get
- 14:19Speaker 1: something in return. Those are people's ideas of how to
- 14:24Speaker 1: satisfy somebody's soul and spirit. But today, right now, Jesus
- 14:31Speaker 1: is inviting you and I to become more like him
- 14:35Speaker 1: or to come to him for this living, satisfying, eternal
- 14:40Speaker 1: life by way of his water, his offer of living water, right?
- 14:47Speaker 1: Notice that Jesus says that he is the way, the truth,
- 14:52Speaker 1: and the life. No one comes to the Father except
- 14:56Speaker 1: through him. Why? Because he's the one who offers eternal life.
- 15:00Speaker 1: It's through the Lord Jesus that we're made right and
- 15:03Speaker 1: righteous by way of Jesus. We're made right with God
- 15:09Speaker 1: through the Lord Jesus Christ. So his living water brings
- 15:13Speaker 1: peace when your life is bringing chaos. How many people
- 15:18Speaker 1: could say amen? A lot of chaotic things happening in
- 15:21Speaker 1: this world. You watch the news, you're like, man, this
- 15:24Speaker 1: world is falling apart. You watch the news, you're going
- 15:27Speaker 1: to be like, this is sad. You watch the news,
- 15:29Speaker 1: you'll be like, man, this is depressing. But Jesus says,
- 15:32Speaker 1: come to him. He's going to bring us peace when
- 15:36Speaker 1: When the world is in chaos and the peace that
- 15:39Speaker 1: the Lord gives us, the world does not understand. As
- 15:42Speaker 1: a matter of fact, the world hates the peace that
- 15:44Speaker 1: Jesus offers his people because the world system is designed
- 15:49Speaker 1: and bent towards separating us from the living, holy, righteous,
- 15:53Speaker 1: loving God. But the kingdom of God and the king
- 15:57Speaker 1: of the kingdom of God wants us to have his
- 16:00Speaker 1: peace for all eternity. His living water brings hope when
- 16:05Speaker 1: we feel down in the dumps when we feel discouraged, right?
- 16:10Speaker 1: His living water brings forgiveness when we feel like we're
- 16:16Speaker 1: not worthy to be forgiven. His living water does that.
- 16:22Speaker 1: His living water brings eternal life when you place your
- 16:26Speaker 1: faith in Jesus. Not place your faith in a religion,
- 16:31Speaker 1: in a church, in a morning devotion, in an influencer,
- 16:35Speaker 1: in a an apostle, and a prophet, and an evangelist,
- 16:39Speaker 1: or a pastor, teacher, not when you put your faith
- 16:41Speaker 1: in those people or those things. It's only when you
- 16:45Speaker 1: place your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ that he
- 16:47Speaker 1: will give you eternal life. The beautiful thing about living
- 16:53Speaker 1: water is that Jesus doesn't just give you enough to survive, right?
- 17:00Speaker 1: This is something that he says, it will become a
- 17:04Speaker 1: fount of water within you. You will always have overflowing
- 17:08Speaker 1: amounts of XYZ. Overflowing favor, overflowing grace, overflowing mercy, overflowing
- 17:17Speaker 1: abundant life that the Lord Jesus promised, as a matter
- 17:20Speaker 1: of fact. So let's take the word, let's take his
- 17:23Speaker 1: word for granted. That's a way of expressing it. Let's
- 17:29Speaker 1: take his word at what he says he would do
- 17:31Speaker 1: in our hearts and our minds and our lives. in
- 17:33Speaker 1: our families. The promises of God are all yea and amen. Amen.
- 17:37Speaker 1: So why don't we just continue to believe regardless of
- 17:42Speaker 1: what's happening in this world. Let's continue to believe in
- 17:45Speaker 1: what God said he would do in our lives when
- 17:48Speaker 1: we place our faith and trust in him. Right? God
- 17:54Speaker 1: puts inside of you something that he begins and what
- 17:59Speaker 1: he puts inside of you he will complete. Amen. Amen.
- 18:02Speaker 1: And what he puts in me and what he puts
- 18:04Speaker 1: in you is so overflowing that it would extend to others.
- 18:08Speaker 1: That's why people have two choices. You want to like
- 18:14Speaker 1: the believers in Christ, the sons and daughters of the
- 18:16Speaker 1: living God, or don't like the sons and daughters of
- 18:21Speaker 1: a living, holy, righteous, loving God. It's two choices, right?
- 18:24Speaker 1: Some people see the light of Christ in us and
- 18:29Speaker 1: they want it. Others see the light of Christ in
- 18:31Speaker 1: us and they go back into the darkness or they
- 18:33Speaker 1: don't want no parts of us because the Bible says
- 18:36Speaker 1: around John 3, 16, 17, around there, or 18, that
- 18:41Speaker 1: people love darkness. The light is coming to the world,
- 18:44Speaker 1: but people love darkness. Why? Because they don't want their
- 18:47Speaker 1: deeds exposed because when light shows on my sinful deeds, amen,
- 18:53Speaker 1: those sinful deeds will be exposed and that happens for
- 18:55Speaker 1: you as well. And a lot of people like to
- 18:58Speaker 1: live in the darkness, but according to the scriptures, Once
- 19:01Speaker 1: we're in Christ, we no longer have to walk in
- 19:03Speaker 1: the dark. We shouldn't be walking in the dark, right?
- 19:06Speaker 1: We have the light of Christ and we move forward.
- 19:09Speaker 1: Your encouragement and my encouragement can actually encourage somebody else, right?
- 19:14Speaker 1: It's like this water that's flowing in us, right, can
- 19:18Speaker 1: overflow and give somebody an opportunity to be encouraged. Amen.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Your prayers, you know, it's important to pray. I'm a
- 19:27Speaker 1: praying man. I pray about everything. You should be praying
- 19:31Speaker 1: about everything. Your prayers can strengthen somebody. Literally, I've seen
- 19:36Speaker 1: it happen. People prayed me into the kingdom. There's no
- 19:39Speaker 1: doubt about it. I can't prove it, but in my
- 19:42Speaker 1: mind and my heart, I have no doubt that I
- 19:44Speaker 1: was prayed into the kingdom of God. Your faith and
- 19:49Speaker 1: my faith can actually point people to Jesus Christ, right?
- 19:56Speaker 1: So today, what are you going to do with this
- 19:59Speaker 1: fount of water springing up to eternal life? This is
- 20:04Speaker 1: if you have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ,
- 20:06Speaker 1: by the way. This lady is This woman at the
- 20:09Speaker 1: well was not saved. She wasn't born again. Jesus showed
- 20:13Speaker 1: up as a prophet to her life. He knew everything
- 20:18Speaker 1: about her. She literally ran back to a village and said,
- 20:21Speaker 1: meet a man that knew everything about me. And the
- 20:25Speaker 1: question was, could this be the Christ? And she was
- 20:28Speaker 1: pretty much convinced that this is the Christ. This is
- 20:31Speaker 1: the Mashiach McKee. This is the Messiah, right? This is
- 20:34Speaker 1: the one man of God, sent by God. and only
- 20:39Speaker 1: can work through Jesus was working by way of God.
- 20:44Speaker 1: He was, yes, a messenger, but he was more than
- 20:47Speaker 1: a messenger. He was the man or the God-man, so
- 20:52Speaker 1: God in the flesh as we see it. Come to Jesus.
- 20:58Speaker 1: Drink from his water. Let his living water fill your
- 21:03Speaker 1: heart and overflow into your life. Why not? You will
- 21:09Speaker 1: not be losing out on anything this world has to offer.
- 21:12Speaker 1: As a matter of fact, you'll be light years ahead
- 21:16Speaker 1: of what this world supplies or what this world offers.
- 21:21Speaker 1: You won't need it. I definitely don't need it. Tired
- 21:23Speaker 1: of the world system. I got tired of the world,
- 21:26Speaker 1: to be honest. I started feeling the tiredness in my
- 21:31Speaker 1: early 20s. I was doing so much in the world.
- 21:35Speaker 1: And I was like, something here is not right. I'm
- 21:37Speaker 1: being lied to. I'm following the code of the streets.
- 21:43Speaker 1: I'm doing what the world says to do. Although it
- 21:46Speaker 1: seemed like, oh man, this is great. I had this
- 21:49Speaker 1: temporary satisfaction. I had this, that, and the third. It
- 21:54Speaker 1: still wasn't really satisfying my spirit and my soul. And
- 21:58Speaker 1: I felt it. It's just that I was hardheaded and
- 22:02Speaker 1: it seemed like I was having fun. I was in sin,
- 22:05Speaker 1: but you couldn't tell me I was sinning because I
- 22:07Speaker 1: had no idea what sin was. I just thought everybody
- 22:10Speaker 1: was doing these things, so it might be okay for
- 22:13Speaker 1: me to do it too. So until I was 30
- 22:16Speaker 1: years old, when I called out to God, that's when
- 22:21Speaker 1: I realized, I said, wow, all these years, I could
- 22:25Speaker 1: have been completely satisfied by what Jesus offered. Not by
- 22:30Speaker 1: what this world offers, but what the Lord Jesus offered.
- 22:33Speaker 1: And mind you, I didn't call on the name of
- 22:35Speaker 1: Jesus when that day in December of 2001, I called
- 22:39Speaker 1: on God because I didn't know who God was. I said,
- 22:43Speaker 1: whoever this God is, come and change my life. I
- 22:48Speaker 1: really didn't care at that point about churches, religions, or anything.
- 22:51Speaker 1: I was just saying, if you're real, let's do some
- 22:55Speaker 1: business together. Amen? Let's make a deal. That's the way
- 23:00Speaker 1: my testimony is. And I gave God ultimatums and all
- 23:04Speaker 1: this stuff, and he was merciful enough not to just
- 23:08Speaker 1: annihilate me with his finger. But actually, he met me
- 23:11Speaker 1: where I was. And I believe now he's taking me
- 23:14Speaker 1: to where he is. And he could do the same
- 23:16Speaker 1: thing in your life. He'll meet you where you are.
- 23:19Speaker 1: People are like, I got to get cleaned up before
- 23:21Speaker 1: I get right with God. No, you don't. Ask him
- 23:24Speaker 1: to come into your life right now. The woman of
- 23:27Speaker 1: the well had no idea who she was speaking to.
- 23:31Speaker 1: Because Jesus said, if you knew who you were asking,
- 23:35Speaker 1: then you would know that I am the one that
- 23:39Speaker 1: can offer you eternal life. But she didn't know. Some
- 23:42Speaker 1: people right now don't know who the Lord Jesus is
- 23:45Speaker 1: and what he can do in their lives, right? We
- 23:48Speaker 1: were all there at one point. Every believer you know
- 23:51Speaker 1: wasn't a believer before, right? We weren't born believing. We
- 23:55Speaker 1: were born, actually, according to the scriptures, we were born
- 23:58Speaker 1: bent to hell. We were born in sin and iniquity.
- 24:01Speaker 1: We were separated from a living, holy, righteous, loving God.
- 24:05Speaker 1: And God offers us all through our lives an opportunity
- 24:08Speaker 1: to get that right, to get into a personal relationship
- 24:11Speaker 1: with him. Amen? It's not by way of religion, not
- 24:15Speaker 1: by way of tradition, not by way of prophetic ministries,
- 24:20Speaker 1: healing ministries. It's by way of his way, his truth,
- 24:24Speaker 1: and his life. He loves us so much that he
- 24:27Speaker 1: went on the cross. He thought about you. He thought
- 24:30Speaker 1: about me on that cross and died for us so
- 24:32Speaker 1: that way we can live and the life abundant that
- 24:35Speaker 1: he promised. This is good. So you can ask the
- 24:42Speaker 1: Lord right now, right? When you let his living water
- 24:45Speaker 1: fill your heart and overflow in your life, you can
- 24:48Speaker 1: ask the Lord right now to hold us accountable to
- 24:54Speaker 1: what we're doing with this living water. Thank the Father
- 24:59Speaker 1: for sending the Lord Jesus Christ. Amazing, right? The source
- 25:04Speaker 1: of living water is found in the Lord Jesus Christ.
- 25:08Speaker 1: So when you start recognizing that things in this world
- 25:11Speaker 1: can't completely satisfy you, can't completely satisfy your soul, right?
- 25:17Speaker 1: You could go to the Lord thirsty, thirsty for his presence, right?
- 25:23Speaker 1: You go to the Lord asking for peace, asking for wisdom, amen?
- 25:28Speaker 1: And ultimately, you're looking for love. And he is the love.
- 25:33Speaker 1: God is love, right? This is the love that will
- 25:37Speaker 1: truly satisfy me and you. Everyone who drinks this water
- 25:41Speaker 1: will be thirsty again. In other words, everything that you
- 25:43Speaker 1: try in this world will not satisfy you. But whoever
- 25:47Speaker 1: drinks the water that the Lord gives, right? We will
- 25:52Speaker 1: never thirst again, right? I have really no deep desire
- 25:57Speaker 1: to go back to the world. The flesh always had
- 25:59Speaker 1: the desire to go back to the world. The flesh
- 26:01Speaker 1: always wants to do the same old, same old over
- 26:04Speaker 1: and over again, right? If you're honest, your flesh always
- 26:08Speaker 1: wants to do something opposite of what the Lord wants
- 26:11Speaker 1: us to do. The spirit and the flesh are always
- 26:14Speaker 1: at war, right? There's nothing that the flesh could offer
- 26:18Speaker 1: me that would completely satisfy, but there's something that the
- 26:22Speaker 1: Lord Jesus offers that would completely satisfy. So ask God
- 26:26Speaker 1: to fill you up with his living water. Ask God
- 26:29Speaker 1: to refresh your spirit, renew your mind, strengthen your faith.
- 26:34Speaker 1: Ask God to let your own life so much overflow
- 26:39Speaker 1: so that you could be a blessing and you could
- 26:42Speaker 1: be an encouragement to somebody else, right? It's a selfless deed.
- 26:48Speaker 1: It's not selfish, it's selfless, right? You're pouring out that
- 26:53Speaker 1: living water that's in you and that's in me and
- 26:56Speaker 1: we're letting it overflow into other people's lives. So that
- 26:58Speaker 1: way God will get the glory for it all. We
- 27:01Speaker 1: don't get the glory for that. So stop searching for
- 27:05Speaker 1: satisfaction in places that leave you empty. I was there.
- 27:10Speaker 1: I've been there. Been to places that I thought if
- 27:13Speaker 1: I did X, Y, Z, I'll be completely satisfied, but
- 27:16Speaker 1: it left me empty. Ask God to teach us or
- 27:19Speaker 1: to teach you to seek his kingdom first and to
- 27:24Speaker 1: trust in this living water that he offers us. And
- 27:27Speaker 1: trust the one who offers you this living water, the
- 27:28Speaker 1: Lord Jesus Christ. Living water, amen. I hope you got
- 27:33Speaker 1: something from this. It's John chapter 4, 13 and 14.
- 27:36Speaker 1: Please read the whole chapter for yourself so you can
- 27:38Speaker 1: get the context. I'm out of time. Amen. Thank you
- 27:41Speaker 1: so much for hanging out with me for this morning, Devo.
- 27:44Speaker 1: It's been a great opportunity. Amen. It's good to be back.
- 27:47Speaker 1: It feels good to be back in the studio. So
- 27:50Speaker 1: God bless you all. God keep you all. And remember
- 27:53Speaker 1: always that God is good. Peace.
