Latest / Suze Orman's Women & Money (And Everyone Smart Enough To Listen) / How To Make Wise Financial Decisions
Transcript
- 0:07Suze: January 18, 2026. Welcome everybody to the Women in Money podcast,
- 0:13Suze: and everybody's smart enough to listen. And today is Suze School.
- 0:18Suze: That means you get me all to yourself.
- 0:21Suze: I know a lot of you are saying, but I
- 0:23Suze: miss KT. She's so sweet. She's so cute.
- 0:27Suze: And trust me, I know how adorable she is. If
- 0:30Suze: you think she's adorable on the podcast, you should see
- 0:35Suze: her in real life. That vitality, that love, that spirit,
- 0:41Suze: I'm telling you, just shines through when she's just doing
- 0:46Suze: everything that she really wants to do.
- 0:50Suze: On Thursday's podcast last Thursday.
- 0:54Suze: We opened up the podcast with KT reading an email
- 0:57Suze: from a man by the name of David, who said
- 1:00Suze: that last Sunday's podcast, which was my market projection, was
- 1:04Suze: his favorite podcast out of 25 years, I think of
- 1:08Suze: him listening to me.
- 1:11Suze: And KT just thought that was so great.
- 1:14Suze: And then I said, but those kinds of podcasts are
- 1:18Suze: not my favorite podcasts.
- 1:21Suze: And the real reason is that I could give you
- 1:26Suze: the best stocks to buy.
- 1:28Suze: I can give you the best forecast, the best this,
- 1:31Suze: the best that.
- 1:33Suze: But there's something that prevents you, not all of you,
- 1:38Suze: but many of you from doing that which I have
- 1:41Suze: told you to do.
- 1:44Suze: That's when I started to realize,
- 1:48Suze: that why is it that you don't do what you
- 1:50Suze: know you should do and you would say I'm afraid
- 1:53Suze: I'm ashamed, I'm angry, whatever it is, the three internal
- 1:57Suze: obstacles to wealth.
- 1:59Suze: But the one internal obstacle to wealth that I really
- 2:03Suze: want to focus on today is fear.
- 2:08Suze: What will your fear do, and how does it show
- 2:12Suze: up in your finances? OK, everybody.
- 2:17Suze: Now, that's number one. Number two.
- 2:21Suze: Many of you, and I mentioned this a little bit ago,
- 2:24Suze: wrote in and said, can you just do a podcast
- 2:26Suze: for us people who are in retirement, who are older
- 2:30Suze: and everything, and I kind of let you have it
- 2:32Suze: a little cause I was like, you know what, all
- 2:34Suze: the podcasts are for everybody. And then I started to realize, no,
- 2:41Suze: they're right. I was wrong.
- 2:44Suze: There's a different element of fear involved when you are 60, 65, 70,
- 2:52Suze: even 80, or 90, than when you are 25, 35, 45,
- 2:57Suze: and even 50.
- 2:59Suze: It is different.
- 3:01Suze: Today's podcast is especially for all of you who are 60, 65, 70,
- 3:08Suze: and 80. It is dedicated to you.
- 3:11Suze: However, if you're younger than that,
- 3:14Suze: this podcast can absolutely come to play in your life
- 3:19Suze: as well. So I ask you to listen with every molecule, atom,
- 3:26Suze: whatever else is in your body. So, I want you
- 3:29Suze: to listen to this with what I call elephant ears.
- 3:34Suze: As they say in India, listen carefully.
- 3:39Suze: Here's the scoop, everybody.
- 3:41Suze: When you're 60, 65, 70, 80, or 90, you have
- 3:49Suze: experienced and lived through multiple market crashes.
- 3:56Suze: And you think at this time that you're supposed to
- 4:01Suze: feel safe.
- 4:03Suze: But the history of living through all those market crashes up, down, up,
- 4:08Suze: down the 70s, the 80s, all of it.
- 4:12Suze: Here you are, you're supposed to feel safe, and yet
- 4:16Suze: you don't. And why is that most likely? It's because
- 4:21Suze: you're watching the markets move and
- 4:24Suze: As I've said, you're gonna see the markets go up,
- 4:26Suze: the markets go down, it's no longer gonna be straight up, really,
- 4:30Suze: like it was back in 2025, especially with the technology
- 4:34Suze: and the AI stocks. You're seeing stocks go up four
- 4:37Suze: points in one day, and the next day they're down five,
- 4:40Suze: and it's all over the place, so we feel like
- 4:42Suze: we're not going anywhere.
- 4:45Suze: You're hearing all these headlines, the headlines that are out there,
- 4:51Suze: such as, are we gonna go to war with Greenland?
- 4:54Suze: How about with Iran? What's happening in Minneapolis? What is
- 4:58Suze: going on in Venezuela? We are like all over the
- 5:02Suze: place and we are hearing and experiencing things that none
- 5:07Suze: of us, I don't care what your political affiliation is.
- 5:10Suze: Let's get real here, everybody.
- 5:13Suze: Whether you agree with it or you don't agree with
- 5:15Suze: it is not the point. All of us are experiencing
- 5:20Suze: things that we're seeing on the news that we have
- 5:22Suze: never ever seen before, ever, or even heard about before, ever.
- 5:32Suze: So when that happens, you then start to wonder.
- 5:36Suze: Do I have enough?
- 5:39Suze: Should I be doing something? What if I make the
- 5:42Suze: wrong move now?
- 5:44Suze: And the reason that I know that's what you're thinking
- 5:48Suze: is cause you write me and you tell me that.
- 5:52Suze: But I want all of you to listen to me
- 5:55Suze: really very carefully.
- 5:57Suze: And I say this with all the love in my heart,
- 6:00Suze: which is a lot of love, everybody.
- 6:03Suze: What you are feeling is not irrational.
- 6:08Suze: And it's not a sign that you're bad with money,
- 6:11Suze: so stop thinking that. Believe it or not, it is
- 6:16Suze: your nervous system talking.
- 6:21Suze: Now, I know about this, and I'll tell you why
- 6:25Suze: in a second, but here's what I want you to
- 6:28Suze: also understand when you are younger.
- 6:33Suze: And my little niece Sophia said this to me as
- 6:36Suze: well as some friends who I watch their investments and
- 6:39Suze: things like that. Oh, Suze, it doesn't matter. I'm in
- 6:42Suze: my twenties. I have years. I don't personally care what
- 6:45Suze: the market does. I'm not even watching it. I'm OK.
- 6:49Suze: So when you are younger, market drops. They just kind
- 6:52Suze: of feel like they're theoretical to you, not a big deal.
- 6:55Suze: But when you are older they feel personal and why
- 7:01Suze: is that? The truth is because there's less time to recover.
- 7:06Suze: Why do you think I always say to you, money
- 7:08Suze: that is in the stock market is money that you
- 7:11Suze: do not need for at least five or 10 years
- 7:14Suze: or longer. Why do you think I say that? Because
- 7:19Suze: there's less time to recover it if something goes wrong.
- 7:24Suze: Many of you are probably living on a fixed income,
- 7:29Suze: and now you're seeing interest rates go down, you're not
- 7:33Suze: getting as much on your CDs or in your treasuries.
- 7:36Suze: You hear that it's even gonna go down further. You
- 7:40Suze: felt safe because it was in a money market account,
- 7:42Suze: making 4, 4.5% interest, and now that's all the way
- 7:45Suze: down to 3%. All of those things play on you
- 7:50Suze: not feeling safe.
- 7:53Suze: Underline the word safe.
- 7:56Suze: By the way, do all of you have out your
- 7:58Suze: Suze notebooks? 'Cause there are things that I am probably
- 8:02Suze: gonna say in this podcast, 'cause I don't know exactly
- 8:04Suze: what I'm gonna say yet, but that I have a
- 8:07Suze: feeling you're gonna wanna know and remember, all right? And
- 8:11Suze: I know I always say, well, you can come back
- 8:13Suze: and listen to the podcast, but here's the problem, you
- 8:15Suze: can't remember what podcast it was. You don't wanna do that,
- 8:18Suze: just read your notes, all right?
- 8:21Suze: The next thing that is really personal to you right
- 8:25Suze: now are health care costs. Everybody, listen, I don't care
- 8:32Suze: whether you're older or younger, the cost of your insurance,
- 8:37Suze: the cost of your Medicare or Mediap insurance, whatever it is,
- 8:42Suze: it is skyrocketing on you if you are younger. I
- 8:46Suze: was just with my niece Katie up when we went
- 8:48Suze: to Amelia Island.
- 8:50Suze: She lives in Jacksonville and oh my God, she was
- 8:54Suze: telling me how her family, early forties, three young children,
- 8:59Suze: I think it's eight, six, and maybe one year right
- 9:01Suze: around there, $3500 a month for insurance for the five
- 9:08Suze: of them. I want you to just think about that, OK?
- 9:13Suze: That is a big deal for most people out there.
- 9:19Suze: So, all of these things add to the fact that
- 9:23Suze: you feel like every decision that you make right now
- 9:26Suze: is final. It's final.
- 9:30Suze: And all of this creates a specific kind of fear,
- 9:37Suze: a fear that goes like this: If I mess this
- 9:41Suze: up now, I can't fix it. Isn't that true? Don't
- 9:46Suze: you all think this? Oh my god, Suze, if I
- 9:49Suze: invest in this now and it doesn't work, I don't
- 9:51Suze: have time to fix it. I'm just gonna leave it safe.
- 9:54Suze: I'm coming out of the stock market because if it
- 9:55Suze: goes down, I can't fix it.
- 9:58Suze: And here is the bottom line.
- 10:01Suze: When you feel this fear, right? It changes, underline this, everybody,
- 10:09Suze: it changes how the brain works. Do you hear me?
- 10:16Suze: There is a biological system in your body.
- 10:20Suze: That decides whether you feel calm or panicked long before
- 10:26Suze: logic kicks in. Now, how do I know this to
- 10:30Suze: be true? Because I experienced it big time.
- 10:36Suze: I experienced it starting five years ago in July of 2020,
- 10:42Suze: after I had that really complicated and life threatening, lifestyle
- 10:48Suze: altering surgery.
- 10:50Suze: And after it was all over.
- 10:53Suze: And everybody told me how serious it was and how
- 10:58Suze: I would never recover 100%.
- 11:02Suze: I started to panic at little things. Is my left
- 11:07Suze: leg going to collapse and all of a sudden I'm
- 11:09Suze: going to fall? And when I tell you I started
- 11:11Suze: to panic, I honest to God started to panic.
- 11:17Suze: And it wasn't even logical. The things I was panicking
- 11:21Suze: about wasn't logical.
- 11:24Suze: And that's when I was talking to the doctors about it.
- 11:27Suze: It's like, this can't be. I'm Susie Orman. I'm strong.
- 11:31Suze: I'm this, and they said, Suze, you've been through a
- 11:35Suze: very traumatic event, so it is logical, but I want
- 11:40Suze: you to research something called the Polyvagal system. And I said,
- 11:46Suze: the poly what? They said, Suze,
- 11:49Suze: We're gonna give you information and you need to research
- 11:52Suze: it even more on your own, something called the Polyvagal system.
- 11:57Suze: Which is based on the work that somebody by the
- 12:00Suze: name of Stefan or Steven Porges, I think it's P
- 12:03Suze: O R G E S. I never did know how
- 12:05Suze: you pronounced his last name, what he created, cause this
- 12:10Suze: is what is happening to you.
- 12:14Suze: And my main question when I was going through all
- 12:19Suze: of this, I had one question.
- 12:23Suze: And my question was, am I safe?
- 12:26Suze: Am I really safe?
- 12:29Suze: And as time went on,
- 12:33Suze: Right, I started to realize that if my body doesn't
- 12:38Suze: feel safe, my brain cannot make wise decisions.
- 12:45Suze: As time went on and I learned about this and
- 12:48Suze: I learned how to control it, by the way, everybody.
- 12:51Suze: I realized, oh my God, this just doesn't apply to
- 12:55Suze: my health. This applies to every single one of you,
- 13:02Suze: if you don't feel safe with your money.
- 13:07Suze: And even though for years I've been saying fear is
- 13:10Suze: the main internal obstacle to wealth.
- 13:14Suze: I never actually knew why it was the main internal
- 13:18Suze: obstacle to wealth. I just had put that together out
- 13:21Suze: of all those years of seeing my clients not being
- 13:24Suze: able to do what they needed to do with money,
- 13:27Suze: even though they were brain surgeons at the time.
- 13:31Suze: I'm going to make it all financial from this point on, OK, everybody.
- 13:36Suze: But if your body does not feel safe, your brain
- 13:43Suze: cannot make wise financial decisions.
- 13:48Suze: Now, how do I know that that's true currently?
- 13:53Suze: I know because again you write me and you tell
- 13:57Suze: me this.
- 13:58Suze: You tell me, Suze. I know I'm totally diversified, but
- 14:04Suze: I'm still panicking.
- 14:07Suze: Suze, I know I don't need to sell.
- 14:11Suze: But yet I still feel desperate. I feel like I
- 14:13Suze: have to get out.
- 14:16Suze: Or you write me and you say I know we
- 14:18Suze: have the perfect plan. I know it, but all of
- 14:22Suze: a sudden, Suze, I want to blow it up. I
- 14:25Suze: want to get out.
- 14:27Suze: Why do you want to do those things? Because you
- 14:30Suze: don't feel safe, do you hear me?
- 14:35Suze: So this is not a weakness. This is not you
- 14:38Suze: being bad with your money. This is not you being
- 14:41Suze: financially capable. This is not you.
- 14:46Suze: This is biology that is within you that is ruling
- 14:51Suze: what you are doing.
- 14:53Suze: So, here's what I can tell you.
- 14:57Suze: That I have seriously learned and what I have taken
- 15:01Suze: from Steven Porges or Porges, or whatever his name is,
- 15:05Suze: let's just call him Steven, right? This is what I
- 15:09Suze: have learned about the systems and how they work when
- 15:13Suze: it comes to your money, OK?
- 15:16Suze: The first state is the calm state, because whenever I
- 15:21Suze: was calm.
- 15:23Suze: I felt safe, and when I was safe, I didn't panic.
- 15:28Suze: I didn't feel like, oh my God, I'm gonna da
- 15:30Suze: da da da. I felt safe. So when it comes
- 15:35Suze: to your finances,
- 15:38Suze: when you feel safe, you're calm, and then what do
- 15:41Suze: you do? Well, you stick to your plan. You understand
- 15:46Suze: the risk that you've taken.
- 15:48Suze: You ride out all the volatility of these stupid markets.
- 15:53Suze: You make thoughtful choices by when the markets go down,
- 15:56Suze: you continue to dollar cost average. And when you are
- 16:00Suze: in the calm state.
- 16:04Suze: That means you're safe, and this is where your wealth
- 16:07Suze: is protected. And why is it protected? It's because your
- 16:11Suze: brain is functioning, and you are doing things that are intelligent.
- 16:18Suze: Versus from fear.
- 16:21Suze: The next state is called the fear state.
- 16:26Suze: They call it actually fight or flight, and this is
- 16:30Suze: where you panic because when the markets start to go
- 16:36Suze: up and down, you don't understand them. You saw it
- 16:39Suze: happen everywhere in April when President Trump did what? He
- 16:45Suze: started to raise tariffs and I still never understood them,
- 16:48Suze: but that's besides the point and everybody panicked.
- 16:53Suze: So, this is when the markets go nuts and that
- 16:58Suze: triggers panic. So then what do you wanna do?
- 17:02Suze: You want to sell everything.
- 17:04Suze: You wanna move everything to cash. You wanna do something immediately.
- 17:09Suze: You don't wanna wait, you don't wanna see what happens
- 17:12Suze: next week. You call up your financial advisor or your
- 17:15Suze: broker and you go, sell everything.
- 17:17Suze: And you can't stop watching the financial news. It's like
- 17:22Suze: you're attracted to it.
- 17:25Suze: So again, you either fight it or flight, but this
- 17:29Suze: causes the fear state. And again, let me be clear, urgency.
- 17:36Suze: You doing something immediately, you feeling like you have to
- 17:41Suze: act and you've never thought that way before, it is
- 17:44Suze: the number one enemy of wealth. Fear more than shame
- 17:49Suze: and anger really is the number one enemy of wealth.
- 17:56Suze: You writing this all down?
- 17:59Suze: Next, and this one makes me so sad, cause I
- 18:02Suze: saw it so much during my Oprah years when I
- 18:06Suze: would go into people's houses and I would, it, it's just,
- 18:09Suze: it made me so sad.
- 18:12Suze: And it is called the shutdown state.
- 18:17Suze: This is where you freeze. you just totally freeze. And
- 18:23Suze: what happens, I'll tell you, when you freeze, and you're
- 18:27Suze: freezing cause you don't feel safe, right? And then fear
- 18:30Suze: kicks in, you stop opening your statements.
- 18:35Suze: You ignore your required minimum distributions that you need to
- 18:39Suze: make and then you have a penalty. You don't call
- 18:42Suze: your adviser and ask about anything, and the truth of
- 18:46Suze: the matter is you just, you, you feel numb. You
- 18:50Suze: feel tired. You're overwhelmed by everything, and I cannot tell
- 18:55Suze: you how many 35 and 40 year olds are stuck
- 19:01Suze: in this state.
- 19:03Suze: There is a serious model who I love so much.
- 19:08Suze: She's on cover. She is stunning, and I met her,
- 19:13Suze: and when I met her, she couldn't look at her statements.
- 19:16Suze: She didn't want to look at anything. She was making
- 19:18Suze: great money, but she was frozen.
- 19:22Suze: And we worked through her fear, what she was afraid
- 19:26Suze: of all of that.
- 19:28Suze: And now she is doing so fabulous with her money
- 19:33Suze: that she actually wrote me last night an email saying
- 19:36Suze: I was just with the financial advisor and I'm doing great.
- 19:40Suze: Everything's going according to plan. I feel so safe and
- 19:44Suze: I have to tell you truthfully, when she said that
- 19:47Suze: and I read it, that's kind of what really triggered
- 19:50Suze: this podcast today. But when you are in that frozen state,
- 19:56Suze: the shutdown state.
- 19:58Suze: Here's what you tell yourself.
- 20:00Suze: You say, I just can't deal with this anymore. I
- 20:03Suze: just can't do it.
- 20:05Suze: But here's what I want you to know, if this
- 20:08Suze: is you that I'm talking to. This is not giving up.
- 20:12Suze: This is your nervous system trying to protect you.
- 20:18Suze: That's right, it is your nervous system trying to protect you. Now,
- 20:25Suze: why is it when we become older, we feel all
- 20:30Suze: of this so intensely, it's not even funny.
- 20:35Suze: And because of this, and I can talk about it
- 20:39Suze: because I am aging.
- 20:42Suze: I am 75 in the next few months here whenever
- 20:46Suze: that comes in June, and I think about it. I think,
- 20:51Suze: oh my God, next I'm gonna be 80, then 85,
- 20:54Suze: and it's intense, everybody, when you start to get older,
- 20:58Suze: whether you know it or not because our bodies are
- 21:01Suze: getting older, some of us, but I'm like a 20
- 21:04Suze: year old inside. KT tells me I'm like a 2
- 21:07Suze: year old, but that's besides the point. All right, so
- 21:10Suze: the truth is.
- 21:12Suze: As we age, our tolerance for uncertainty absolutely decreases. It's
- 21:19Suze: like loss feels more threatening. Like, truthfully, I live in
- 21:24Suze: fear of possibly losing KT before I go, and it's,
- 21:30Suze: I feel threatened by that because I love her so much.
- 21:35Suze: And the body, I have to tell you, our stress
- 21:39Suze: response as we get older activates faster when we don't
- 21:45Suze: feel safe. So when the markets do swing, your body,
- 21:51Suze: listen to me, actually reacts as if my survival is
- 21:56Suze: at risk.
- 21:58Suze: That's why volatility feels physical to you. That's why you
- 22:02Suze: feel sick to your stomach, and that's why yelling at
- 22:06Suze: yourself to stay calm doesn't work or if your spouse says,
- 22:10Suze: just stay calm, it's OK, it doesn't work.
- 22:16Suze: Now, I'm gonna get to something that I found did work. However,
- 22:20Suze: but that is why everyone, you should never make money
- 22:25Suze: decisions in fear. So when you feel like you are afraid,
- 22:29Suze: when you feel like all of these emotions happening, you
- 22:32Suze: have to promise me you are not going to do anything.
- 22:35Suze: So again, I'm gonna say this as clearly as I can,
- 22:39Suze: fear-based decisions destroy wealth.
- 22:43Suze: And I know it for a fact because I have
- 22:45Suze: watched you sell at the bottom, lock in losses, miss recoveries,
- 22:50Suze: and regret it for the rest of your lives, not
- 22:55Suze: because you were stupid, but because you were scared. I'm
- 22:59Suze: now going to give you three of my rules that
- 23:03Suze: I want you to write down and do.
- 23:07Suze: Especially when the markets become really volatile, you are really afraid,
- 23:12Suze: and you're afraid, why? Because you don't feel safe. Here
- 23:16Suze: are three things that I want you to do. Now,
- 23:20Suze: the first one,
- 23:22Suze: I'm telling you because this is what I was taught
- 23:25Suze: to do and believe it or not it works so
- 23:30Suze: this isn't Suze Orman telling you to do this although
- 23:33Suze: I am right now. I'm telling you what I did
- 23:36Suze: to help me with my health when I was afraid
- 23:39Suze: and I didn't feel safe and I learned this again
- 23:43Suze: from that gentleman, Steven, who created this system when I
- 23:49Suze: researched him, all right.
- 23:51Suze: So the very first thing is, when you feel like
- 23:56Suze: you are just freaked out, before you make any financial move,
- 24:03Suze: I want you to take a breath through your nose.
- 24:08Suze: Then I want you to take a small second sip
- 24:12Suze: of air.
- 24:14Suze: Then I want you to exhale slowly through your mouth,
- 24:19Suze: and you need to do that three times. When you
- 24:23Suze: do that, believe it or not, it tells your nervous system,
- 24:28Suze: I'm safe right now. Only then should you really think
- 24:33Suze: about touching your money, but only after you've done step two.
- 24:40Suze: If you're now asking yourself what should I do.
- 24:46Suze: I want you to ask it differently. I want you
- 24:51Suze: to ask yourself the question, not what should I do now?
- 24:54Suze: I want you to ask, do I need this money
- 24:59Suze: in the next three to five years.
- 25:03Suze: And if the answer to that question is no.
- 25:07Suze: Then you don't do anything. Then the volatility that's out
- 25:12Suze: there is just noise, but it's not danger.
- 25:16Suze: And if you have really big fear, you're really afraid.
- 25:22Suze: Then I want you to do this when you say,
- 25:24Suze: but what if I lose everything?
- 25:28Suze: What I want you to say, what is my next
- 25:31Suze: right step to take? Just what is your next step?
- 25:35Suze: Just one step, not 10, not five, just what is
- 25:41Suze: your next step? Can you just try those three things? Now,
- 25:47Suze: before I end this podcast, I wanna talk to you
- 25:51Suze: about financial advisors, OK?
- 25:55Suze: Because a lot of you think I hate financial advisors,
- 25:58Suze: and I don't.
- 26:00Suze: If you have a great financial advisor, they are worth
- 26:03Suze: their weight in gold, but you have to know that
- 26:07Suze: they have your best interests at heart versus their own
- 26:11Suze: so I wanna talk about advisors and trust right now.
- 26:16Suze: If you are over 60
- 26:19Suze: and you don't trust your adviser enough. Listen to me.
- 26:23Suze: You don't trust them enough to call them when you
- 26:27Suze: are afraid you're scared. Ask them the same question twice, three times,
- 26:34Suze: four times to admit to them that you are overwhelmed.
- 26:40Suze: Then in my opinion you need a different adviser.
- 26:45Suze: Because a good adviser regulates with you, and what do
- 26:49Suze: I mean by that? They calm you down when you
- 26:53Suze: are freaked out. They don't rush you. They don't shame you.
- 26:57Suze: They don't pressure you. They regulate your fear because they're
- 27:03Suze: not in a state of fear. They feel safe most
- 27:06Suze: likely with what they have recommended to you.
- 27:09Suze: So they're calm, so they need to be able to
- 27:13Suze: calm you down, all right?
- 27:17Suze: If you're older now, even if you're younger, and you're
- 27:21Suze: listening to me right now, I want you to hear this.
- 27:25Suze: You have survived wars.
- 27:28Suze: Recessions, market crashes, personal losses, health scares.
- 27:37Suze: You are not fragile.
- 27:41Suze: Old is gold. I heard somebody say that the other
- 27:45Suze: day on this webinar that I was watching. Brilliant.
- 27:51Suze: She went on to say the sun is golden and
- 27:55Suze: look how old it is and look how it shines.
- 27:59Suze: So old is gold, so you are not fragile, you
- 28:04Suze: are experienced.
- 28:07Suze: And the markets, oh, they will go up, they will
- 28:10Suze: go down, they always have, but panic for you to panic,
- 28:16Suze: that's optional. Do you hear me? So here's my promise
- 28:21Suze: that I wanna make to you.
- 28:23Suze: If you learn to calm your nervous system, you stop
- 28:27Suze: reacting to headlines.
- 28:30Suze: You will trust your plan again. You will stop second
- 28:33Suze: guessing yourself. You will feel steady even in uncertainty. And
- 28:39Suze: if you ask me, that is real power.
- 28:45Suze: And this is the last thing that I want you
- 28:47Suze: to remember, you are not your portfolio, you are not
- 28:52Suze: the market, you are not today's headlines. You are your
- 28:56Suze: own greatest asset.
- 29:00Suze: You really are your own greatest protector.
- 29:04Suze: And you are also your own greatest rescuer.
- 29:09Suze: So, until Thursday, when Ms. Travis, I can't wait for
- 29:14Suze: her to hear this podcast, when Ms. Travis joins us
- 29:18Suze: again on Ask KT and Suze Anything, you always have
- 29:22Suze: time to go to my YouTube channel and subscribe, which
- 29:25Suze: is youtube.com/ Suze Orman. There's only one thing that I
- 29:31Suze: want you to remember, and it's this: people first, then money,
- 29:35Suze: then things.
- 29:37Suze: Now you're gonna all understand why I end every podcast
- 29:41Suze: with the phrase, now you stay safe. Bye-bye now.
