- 0:23Speaker 1: It is time to leave your worries outside and laugh
- 0:27Speaker 1: with us inside the treehouse. I'm Daniel Mackley along with
- 0:31Speaker 1: Trey Trindholm on April tenth, twenty twenty five. Today is Thursday,
- 0:36Speaker 1: almost to Friday, and since it's almost Friday, just about
- 0:40Speaker 1: everybody's favorite day of the week, we decided to celebrate
- 0:43Speaker 1: by bringing on our friend and special guests that also
- 0:46Speaker 1: happens to be most people's favorite. That is Rebecca black Ormerly.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Yo, that's not true at all. People do not like me.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Oh, I find that hard to believe.
- 1:00Speaker 2: You invited me back.
- 1:02Speaker 1: No, no, no, I listened to Miles in the morning.
- 1:03Speaker 1: You were the you were the good one.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Where is Miles now, by the way, formerly of k
- 1:10Speaker 1: Love's Mornings.
- 1:11Speaker 2: They live in Georgia. Now they moved back to Georgia Atlanta.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Yeah, the FW radio hits people hard. Usually when they
- 1:18Speaker 1: come to town, they last for a little bit and then
- 1:21Speaker 1: they get smacked right back to where they came from,
- 1:23Speaker 1: like Georgia.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Yeah. Like I thought they would stay in Dallas, and
- 1:27Speaker 2: then he ended up getting a radio job in Florida
- 1:31Speaker 2: and then you know, right now, everybody left and right
- 1:36Speaker 2: and get cut in Florida, so they moved back to Atlanta.
- 1:41Speaker 3: Gotcha.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Well, uh, we're glad to have you back inside the treehouse.
- 1:46Speaker 1: I'm hoping that your internet works better than mine does,
- 1:50Speaker 1: although since you were just a little digitized there, we
- 1:53Speaker 1: might have a little AI Rebecca going on. But that's okay,
- 1:55Speaker 1: we'll take that.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Sorry. I'm even plugged in with like a hard cable,
- 2:00Speaker 2: like old school.
- 2:02Speaker 1: That's the best, right. That's how Internet nerd I've had
- 2:05Speaker 1: to become in recent years is as I'm constantly looking
- 2:10Speaker 1: for a plug. Yeah, because I don't trust the wife,
- 2:17Speaker 1: all right. So very excited to have you on for
- 2:19Speaker 1: two reasons. One because it's you and two because I
- 2:23Speaker 1: saw this a couple of days ago and I kind
- 2:24Speaker 1: of got excited. But I don't know if Trey as
- 2:27Speaker 1: excited as I am about this. And so before we
- 2:31Speaker 1: got you in studio today, I asked you, Rebecca, are
- 2:36Speaker 1: you at all a Goonies fan? And Trey this was
- 2:42Speaker 1: her response.
- 2:43Speaker 4: Hey, you come.
- 2:48Speaker 1: This is this is one of the most frightening things
- 2:52Speaker 1: I've ever seen in my life. And I've seen some stuff,
- 2:55Speaker 1: but You're welcome, thank you. So all I did was
- 3:00Speaker 1: asked Rebecca do you happen to be a fan of Goonies?
- 3:04Speaker 1: And she sent back some horrific amalgamation of her face
- 3:10Speaker 1: and the face of Sloth from Goonies combined and sent
- 3:14Speaker 1: me the video of her saying, Hey you guys, and
- 3:17Speaker 1: I had to say, I love it.
- 3:20Speaker 4: Very impressive. You a filter.
- 3:22Speaker 2: I would love to say that I created that especially
- 3:26Speaker 2: for you guys, but no, it's just a Snapchat filter.
- 3:28Speaker 2: And I have been rogue sending different versions of this
- 3:33Speaker 2: to all of my friends.
- 3:36Speaker 1: You have a lucky group of friends.
- 3:37Speaker 2: I do right. The first time, I might have been
- 3:39Speaker 2: a little tipsy, Mike.
- 3:43Speaker 1: Do you still have a group of friends or have
- 3:45Speaker 1: they all blocked you?
- 3:46Speaker 5: Oh?
- 3:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm done. I've got no one like I'm going
- 3:50Speaker 2: to leave you. I'm like, all right.
- 3:54Speaker 1: It's also interesting to know how how you'll look if
- 3:59Speaker 1: for some reason, you woke up with whatever syndrome Sloth had.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Now you'll know what to expect.
- 4:05Speaker 2: I am not a pretty bald.
- 4:08Speaker 1: I don't think not having hair is the problem in
- 4:10Speaker 1: that video. Really yeah, I think that's the least of
- 4:14Speaker 1: your worries. I think the nose and the teeth are
- 4:16Speaker 1: gonna be your downfall.
- 4:19Speaker 2: Maybe a little bit, maybe a little bit. But the
- 4:21Speaker 2: bald isn't helping either.
- 4:24Speaker 1: No, that just just adds to it.
- 4:26Speaker 2: But that's the beauty of sloth though. He's hideous on
- 4:29Speaker 2: the outside and sweet and tender and wonderful.
- 4:32Speaker 1: On the inside, that is true, and a fierce protector
- 4:35Speaker 1: of his Goonies. Yes, he also had kind of a
- 4:38Speaker 1: point on the top of his head that had like
- 4:40Speaker 1: a little like makings of a wispy top knot.
- 4:44Speaker 2: It was a little it was like a little ginger
- 4:47Speaker 2: care at top.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Yeah, it was really really unfortunate. So the thing I
- 4:52Speaker 1: was excited about with the Goonies, and the reason I
- 4:54Speaker 1: asked you if you were at all a Goonies fan,
- 4:57Speaker 1: is because of something else that I saw this week
- 5:01Speaker 1: besides you sending me you looking like sloth, miss If
- 5:06Speaker 1: I can pull this up real quick, uh, the other
- 5:08Speaker 1: day on the Today Show, the Goonies had a bit
- 5:11Speaker 1: of a cast Tree union, and on the Today Show
- 5:15Speaker 1: they asked them about the newer news of a Goonies sequel,
- 5:22Speaker 1: and so they had Sean Aston, Corey Feldman, Martha Plimpton,
- 5:30Speaker 1: Carrie Green, Joe Pantaliano and I believe his name who
- 5:35Speaker 1: played the other brother. The other for Telly brother is
- 5:40Speaker 1: Robert Dove. I think so they had them all on
- 5:43Speaker 1: the Today Show and ask them about the possibility of
- 5:47Speaker 1: a Goonie sequel.
- 5:49Speaker 6: And we're doing it or not another story.
- 5:52Speaker 3: That's it.
- 5:53Speaker 6: But I can tell you for sure Spielberg start this
- 5:56Speaker 6: over doing it. Whether we're doing it or not as
- 5:59Speaker 6: another story, but I can tell you for sure Spielberg
- 6:03Speaker 6: and Chris Columbus have a recipe and they're planning on something.
- 6:07Speaker 6: We wish them well and if they come to us,
- 6:09Speaker 6: we'll consider it.
- 6:10Speaker 7: At that time, after it came out, Steven Spielberg sent
- 6:13Speaker 7: me a poster saying, I'm still a goony, how about you.
- 6:16Speaker 7: He's wanted to make the sequel, and he's the sole
- 6:19Speaker 7: reason it hasn't been made now because it hasn't been right.
- 6:22Speaker 7: The fact that he is endorsing this next thing is
- 6:24Speaker 7: why we know what's going to happen, and it's why
- 6:27Speaker 7: it has every chance to be spectacular.
- 6:30Speaker 1: So there you have it. I think, based on the
- 6:32Speaker 1: edit in there, I think the cast is excited about
- 6:36Speaker 1: the possibility, although Corey Feldman seems to be playing some
- 6:39Speaker 1: serious hardball with contract negotiations.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Which I'm like, Corey, your music career is not taking
- 6:46Speaker 2: off like I think you think it is, so this
- 6:48Speaker 2: might be a good idea to go ahead and jump
- 6:50Speaker 2: on board and get that little cash grab.
- 6:52Speaker 8: Yeah, he's holding out for an extra case of diet coke.
- 6:59Speaker 2: I did about this, Like, on the one hand, please
- 7:03Speaker 2: don't ruin the original Goonies, But if everybody is on board,
- 7:07Speaker 2: including the cast, Christopher Columbus and Steven Spielberg, like I'm
- 7:12Speaker 2: in one hundred percent.
- 7:16Speaker 1: True.
- 7:16Speaker 4: I mean, Sean is looking more and more like a hobbit.
- 7:20Speaker 1: He is, and I I wonder if Kerrie Green and
- 7:24Speaker 1: Martha Plimpton feel attacked. It all from the fact that
- 7:28Speaker 1: Sean Aston has had a massive career since Goonies. He
- 7:32Speaker 1: had a career for Goonies, and he has not failed
- 7:35Speaker 1: to find work since. He also doesn't look like he's
- 7:37Speaker 1: failed to find a sandwich in the years since Goonies,
- 7:40Speaker 1: And it's almost like he's showing off how much money
- 7:43Speaker 1: he's made in Hollywood. He can eat whatever he wants,
- 7:49Speaker 1: including possibly sloth, and can still find work He's made.
- 7:54Speaker 1: He's been that successful, and poor Kerry Green is looking
- 7:57Speaker 1: at him like you've bastard I.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Know, I'm shocked that Carrie Green didn't have more after
- 8:02Speaker 2: the Goonies, Like she fit the mold. She fit that
- 8:05Speaker 2: eighties mold, So why did she not go on and
- 8:08Speaker 2: become more successful? And then I thought Martha Plimpton was
- 8:11Speaker 2: going to have like a resurgence in her forties. Oh god,
- 8:15Speaker 2: what was that show? Was by the creators of My
- 8:17Speaker 2: Name Is Earl?
- 8:18Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 8:18Speaker 2: It was the sitcom right, yes, and she was great
- 8:21Speaker 2: in it, and I thought for sure, like, Okay, here
- 8:24Speaker 2: we go. She's having a comeback, but not as much.
- 8:29Speaker 1: And Joe and Joe Pantleono's had a good career's al
- 8:32Speaker 1: He's been on sopranos, he's been at the Bad Boys
- 8:34Speaker 1: movies basically. And I haven't even mentioned Josh Brolin, right,
- 8:39Speaker 1: I mean.
- 8:39Speaker 2: He's not hur Thanos.
- 8:41Speaker 1: I mean even a y I can't say. I can't either,
- 8:45Speaker 1: Thank you, Trey. I was just going to be forced
- 8:47Speaker 1: to say data he's had a huge resurgence in the
- 8:51Speaker 1: last couple of years. So I'm with you, Rebecca. I'm
- 8:56Speaker 1: excited about a Goodies sequel.
- 8:58Speaker 2: Well you, Trey, Hey, we'll get Travian, the old skeptical one.
- 9:03Speaker 4: Well, let's let's let.
- 9:07Speaker 2: This suck.
- 9:09Speaker 8: Well, let's be let's be honest. Hollywood's track record for
- 9:13Speaker 8: remakes and sequels is not good.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Hold that thought, Trey, Hold that thought, okay, because I
- 9:20Speaker 1: want That's the part I want to dig into in
- 9:24Speaker 1: the next portion. Here inside the Treehouse.
- 9:34Speaker 9: You're listening to the Treehouse. Visit us online at Treehouse
- 9:38Speaker 9: on Air dot com.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Let's get Daniel Cook from COOKDFW Roofing and Restoration into
- 9:44Speaker 1: the Treehouse eight three to three. Cook DFW is the
- 9:47Speaker 1: number to use for your free roof inspection the website
- 9:50Speaker 1: cookdfw dot com. Daniel, I saw recently that piece of
- 9:54Speaker 1: ice crashed through the roof of a Florida home and
- 9:59Speaker 1: the FA they came and somehow inspected it, I guess
- 10:02Speaker 1: before it melted and said this did not come from
- 10:05Speaker 1: a plane. So at the end of the day they
- 10:08Speaker 1: don't know what it was. But there's a big hole
- 10:12Speaker 1: in their roof. Obviously they need to call somebody. But
- 10:15Speaker 1: not all problems are that obvious, are they?
- 10:18Speaker 7: No?
- 10:19Speaker 10: Unfortunately, I mean a lot of times people call us
- 10:22Speaker 10: because they have a leak that they found out and
- 10:25Speaker 10: they have no clue where it's coming from. So unless
- 10:27Speaker 10: you have a hole in your roof, which hopefully you
- 10:30Speaker 10: don't because that's really bad. And so a lot of
- 10:34Speaker 10: times it's minor leaks that develop over time and then
- 10:39Speaker 10: they become bigger issues because you got to think about
- 10:41Speaker 10: this and all people don't. By the time a leak
- 10:44Speaker 10: gets inside your house, it's probably been leaking for months,
- 10:47Speaker 10: if not years, and it's just taken that long to
- 10:50Speaker 10: ride out the wood, to write out the insulation, to
- 10:53Speaker 10: write out the sheet rock, all those items between the
- 10:56Speaker 10: water outside and inside your house.
- 10:58Speaker 4: It takes a while to get through.
- 11:00Speaker 10: So if you're noticing inside your house, it's been there
- 11:03Speaker 10: for a long time.
- 11:05Speaker 1: And that right there is why getting your roof inspected
- 11:08Speaker 1: on a regular basis is so important. That way, Daniel
- 11:11Speaker 1: and his team from COOKDFW Roofing and Restoration can catch
- 11:14Speaker 1: those problems when they're small before they turn into massive
- 11:19Speaker 1: money sucking problems. So give them in a call for
- 11:22Speaker 1: your free roof inspection today eight three to three Cook
- 11:24Speaker 1: DFW or the website cookdfw dot com.

- 12:06Speaker 1: This is the Treehouse Show. I'm Daniel Malling along with
- 12:09Speaker 1: Trey Turnholme and today's very special returning guest Rebecca Black,
- 12:12Speaker 1: one of our dear friends from DFW Radio Fame currently
- 12:16Speaker 1: of marketing director Semi Fame. Yeah, the uh not to
- 12:24Speaker 1: pick on you too much, Rebecca, And I mean the
- 12:26Speaker 1: pun there for the pick But are you okay? Are
- 12:29Speaker 1: you having about of North Texas allergies?
- 12:32Speaker 2: Totally one. Honestly, I feel like anytime I have to
- 12:36Speaker 2: crack open the mic, this happens during my podcast A
- 12:38Speaker 2: lot snot just starts flowing. I don't know if it's
- 12:42Speaker 2: like an adrenaline reaction or what, but.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Yes, that's an interesting Trey with that constitute a Pvlavian
- 12:50Speaker 1: response like a microphone turns on and Rebecca's nose starts running.
- 12:54Speaker 1: I mean, it's an odd one, but it is.
- 12:56Speaker 4: And I don't know how exactly she trained for that.
- 12:59Speaker 1: But I know now most morning radio personalities trained for it.
- 13:02Speaker 1: But I don't know if Rebecca was big on the
- 13:04Speaker 1: two time for weather.
- 13:08Speaker 2: No, that was not my scene.
- 13:12Speaker 1: The only backup in this morning's traffic are these lines.
- 13:18Speaker 2: No, definitely not my scene. I can't even imagine myself
- 13:24Speaker 2: on that.
- 13:26Speaker 1: I can't either.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Like I assume, did you guys ever see the movie
- 13:29Speaker 2: Requiem for a Dream. I assume I would be like
- 13:33Speaker 2: the old lady, just vacuuming the walls.
- 13:36Speaker 1: It's a lot better than being part of the ending. Literally, true,
- 13:41Speaker 1: very true.
- 13:43Speaker 2: Love to talk about that scene though.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Okay, Trey, have you seen Requiem for a Dream?
- 13:48Speaker 4: I don't think so.
- 13:50Speaker 1: It's kind of a metaphor for radio jobs.
- 13:54Speaker 2: Okay, this is when people have not seen this movie.
- 13:56Speaker 2: This is my favorite thing in the world, and it's like,
- 13:59Speaker 2: go and watch it. One time I had a friend
- 14:00Speaker 2: that was like, I don't get it. I don't get
- 14:02Speaker 2: this movie. I don't good A way so good, and
- 14:04Speaker 2: we're all like, wait till the end, till the end,
- 14:06Speaker 2: and then come back and talk to us, So, Trey,
- 14:10Speaker 2: that's your homework. Please go watch way till the end,
- 14:12Speaker 2: and then I fully expect a text from you, yeah,
- 14:16Speaker 2: on your.
- 14:16Speaker 1: Thoughts and if you would tray do us do us
- 14:19Speaker 1: all a favor when you're watching the last say ten minutes,
- 14:25Speaker 1: just bust out your phone, do the mirror record a
- 14:30Speaker 1: video of just your reaction to it watching Please, I
- 14:33Speaker 1: would love to see your reaction to the ending of
- 14:37Speaker 1: Requiem for a Dream. It does start, Jennifer Connley, So yeah,
- 14:43Speaker 1: all right, So back to the important news at hand
- 14:46Speaker 1: about the possibility of a goony sequel, Trey, you brought
- 14:50Speaker 1: up a very very integral point. Do we trust Hollywood
- 14:56Speaker 1: to make a proper sequel based on something so high
- 15:00Speaker 1: nostalgic as the Goonies?
- 15:02Speaker 8: Well, here in lies another problem is will expectations be
- 15:09Speaker 8: so high because that is a cult classic of our childhood,
- 15:13Speaker 8: that we're going to be disappointed. We're almost setting ourselves
- 15:16Speaker 8: up for disappointment.
- 15:18Speaker 1: And there are plenty of examples of us being disappointed
- 15:22Speaker 1: by Hollywood playing around with what it calls IP, but
- 15:26Speaker 1: what we call our fond childhood memories. They've bastardized. G I, Joe,
- 15:35Speaker 1: I don't know they're in the midst of doing it
- 15:37Speaker 1: with he Man. I don't know if that's going to
- 15:39Speaker 1: be any good or not. Chances are no, chances are
- 15:42Speaker 1: it won't be, but I'm always hopeful because I'm kind
- 15:44Speaker 1: of an optimist. Other examples of note that where they've
- 15:50Speaker 1: taken Ghostbusters. Ghostbusters is a great one. Ghostbusters is near
- 15:56Speaker 1: and dear to our hearts here inside the Treehouse, and
- 15:58Speaker 1: they have ft that up. But they didn't just f
- 16:01Speaker 1: it up once. They've ffed it up with like three
- 16:03Speaker 1: new movies, and none of them are really well.
- 16:05Speaker 8: The Female remake was trash. I mean, that's just it
- 16:10Speaker 8: was a bad script, bat everything. The Paul rud Ones,
- 16:13Speaker 8: I'm not as down on as you are.
- 16:15Speaker 2: I liked the first Paul one.
- 16:17Speaker 1: But let's okay with it at best.
- 16:21Speaker 8: Let's let's go away from what the fact is about.
- 16:25Speaker 8: The only thing they've really done right is Top Gun.
- 16:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:29Speaker 2: I will agree with you. Top Gun. The sequel was perfection.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Yeah, And that's the only reason why I wanted to
- 16:36Speaker 1: talk about this, not so much about the Goonies sequel,
- 16:38Speaker 1: but about whether or not we trust Hollywood, Because Top
- 16:41Speaker 1: Gun Maverick is the only example I can think of
- 16:44Speaker 1: where they took a really old favorite film from the eighties, nineties,
- 16:49Speaker 1: whatever era and either redid it or added on to
- 16:55Speaker 1: it to any satisfaction. Is there another example besides Top Gun,
- 17:02Speaker 1: Maverick or a Hollywood actually did good by the reboot?
- 17:05Speaker 2: No, I'm trying to Beetlejuice was No. Beetlejuice was garbage.
- 17:09Speaker 2: I got duped by that. I'm very mad about it.
- 17:11Speaker 2: I'm still mad about it. They had a good portion
- 17:14Speaker 2: of the storyline, but then when they added like the
- 17:16Speaker 2: singing and the dancing and the soul train to it,
- 17:19Speaker 2: I was like, No, that's not true to Beetlejuice.
- 17:23Speaker 1: It was weird because it actually, and this is going
- 17:25Speaker 1: to sound really odd to say, but Michael Keaton in
- 17:29Speaker 1: Beetlejuice too seemed like a watered down version of the
- 17:33Speaker 1: original Beetlejuice.
- 17:34Speaker 2: Yes, very much so. I agree, Like he didn't curse
- 17:37Speaker 2: as much, he didn't do as many gross things, and
- 17:39Speaker 2: weirdly kind of helped out and became a hero. And
- 17:41Speaker 2: I'm like, I don't know that that's a Beetlejuice characteristic.
- 17:45Speaker 1: I don't I don't necessarily think that Beetlejuice needs the
- 17:48Speaker 1: Darth Vader arc.
- 17:52Speaker 3: Redemption.
- 17:53Speaker 1: Just let him be bad.
- 17:54Speaker 2: I will say. My only hope though for a follow
- 17:58Speaker 2: up to The Goonies is that all of the original
- 18:01Speaker 2: people are still on board.
- 18:03Speaker 1: Yeah, right, those who can, because some of course have passed. Yeah.
- 18:08Speaker 2: And Spielberg I think understands the idea of sticking true
- 18:12Speaker 2: to the characters that were originally created. Tim Burton a
- 18:18Speaker 2: little different because Tim Burton is on a life journey
- 18:21Speaker 2: that is drastically different than Spielberg's.
- 18:23Speaker 1: So yeah, the and then Christopher Columbus, who was I
- 18:28Speaker 1: think the writer and director or is it Richard Donner?
- 18:32Speaker 1: Tray that was a Donner film, wasn't it.
- 18:37Speaker 4: I don't remember.
- 18:38Speaker 1: I amdb it. It's in that group of people that
- 18:41Speaker 1: they've done lots of things that we know are good,
- 18:43Speaker 1: but we know Hollywood people, they don't bat a thousand.
- 18:47Speaker 1: So anyway, it just it again kind of boils down
- 18:50Speaker 1: to do we actually trust Hollywood with our childhood memories?
- 18:54Speaker 1: And I don't think we can.
- 18:55Speaker 4: Well, I mean, I think a shining example.
- 18:59Speaker 8: Maybe I'm wrong, but like I think the Naked Gun
- 19:02Speaker 8: remake is going to be trash.
- 19:04Speaker 2: I agree.
- 19:06Speaker 1: I'm so afraid of that one.
- 19:07Speaker 2: Hold on. I do have a theory. So I my
- 19:10Speaker 2: theory is that if I enjoyed the trailer, I'm going
- 19:13Speaker 2: to hate the movie. If I hate the trailer, I'm
- 19:16Speaker 2: gonna love the movie. Interesting, So I hated the trailer
- 19:20Speaker 2: for The Naked Gun. Hated it, So I'm hoping that
- 19:26Speaker 2: I'm gonna love the movie.
- 19:27Speaker 8: I have a feeling they put the only funny part,
- 19:30Speaker 8: which is the OJ the thing, but they're all talking
- 19:33Speaker 8: to their dads. I think that's going to be the
- 19:34Speaker 8: only funny part of the movie. I just I don't.
- 19:37Speaker 8: People do not give Leslie Nielson enough respect for he
- 19:44Speaker 8: was a comic, like he was a he was a
- 19:45Speaker 8: serious actor. Then he started doing the comedy stuff. But
- 19:48Speaker 8: he was so dry and and and his lines were
- 19:51Speaker 8: just so perfect, and you just I don't think you
- 19:54Speaker 8: can recreate that, especially not Liam Neeson.
- 19:59Speaker 2: I mean, I understand where you're coming from.
- 20:01Speaker 1: I don't.
- 20:01Speaker 2: I don't. It's not that I don't think Liam Usa
- 20:03Speaker 2: can't do it, because I thought he was great as
- 20:05Speaker 2: the Lego police officer in the Lego movie.
- 20:07Speaker 1: Mm hmm. I thought he was also. I'm sorry he
- 20:11Speaker 1: was also great as he was also great as the
- 20:12Speaker 1: bad guy in A Million Ways to Die in the West,
- 20:15Speaker 1: which is was Seth MacFarland and Seth Macfarland's doing the
- 20:17Speaker 1: naked gun deal.
- 20:18Speaker 2: Yeah, so I think if he sticks to those type
- 20:21Speaker 2: of characters, he might nail it. No, Trey don't know, but.
- 20:31Speaker 1: I can't wait for Halloween. I can't wait to see
- 20:33Speaker 1: your trade costume.
- 20:37Speaker 2: Does that mean I'm nailing the impression?
- 20:40Speaker 1: Oh, You've got it, absolutely nailed. The only thing you're
- 20:42Speaker 1: missing is the little drawing of the Tyrannosaurus wrecks over
- 20:45Speaker 1: your shoulder, and it could be Trey, just with long hair.
- 20:47Speaker 2: I need some glasses too. I feel like that'll set
- 20:50Speaker 2: it off. Oh yeah, I'm sorry, Trey.
- 20:53Speaker 4: I love you in a big glass of you.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Double big Gulpa.

- 22:33Speaker 1: Today is Thursday, April tenth, twenty twenty five. We'll jump
- 22:37Speaker 1: back into a little bit of Hollywood sequel news later on,
- 22:41Speaker 1: but we need to dig into some serious news inside
- 22:46Speaker 1: the Treehouse today. And it's not just serious news on
- 22:49Speaker 1: a global level, but even even at a Texas slash
- 22:53Speaker 1: North Texas level. Are did you guys know that dire
- 22:57Speaker 1: wolves were real and not just fabrication of the Game
- 23:01Speaker 1: of Throne show? No, No, I didn't.
- 23:04Speaker 2: I didn't either, And Trey's like I did, Philip Centrey.
- 23:13Speaker 1: He does know that that doesn't surprise me.
- 23:16Speaker 4: It was, well, no, I know, and this is this
- 23:23Speaker 4: is a big scam.
- 23:24Speaker 1: Go ahead, okay, all right, here we go.
- 23:28Speaker 12: We turned out of that remarkable scientific breakthrough. Thirteen thousand
- 23:31Speaker 12: years after the last dire wolf walked the earth, scientists
- 23:34Speaker 12: say they've now brought them back.
- 23:36Speaker 1: Here's our chief national course by all right. I know
- 23:38Speaker 1: this story is about dire wolves, and we're gonna get
- 23:41Speaker 1: to that, but can we first just talk about ABC
- 23:44Speaker 1: News David meir Is, is there a person on the
- 23:47Speaker 1: planet that knows their good side more than he does
- 23:51Speaker 1: because he does not move his head. He's like, the
- 23:54Speaker 1: right side of my face is the good side, and
- 23:57Speaker 1: I'm not effing moving. You will not see the left
- 23:59Speaker 1: side because of that. I wonder if he has some
- 24:02Speaker 1: sort of palsy or if he's had a stroke, Like
- 24:05Speaker 1: it doesn't look as bad at an angle, but if
- 24:07Speaker 1: he was to turn like as his face would turn
- 24:10Speaker 1: towards his bad side, it might actually start melting.
- 24:14Speaker 2: Yeah, it might. He probably works out specifically so that
- 24:18Speaker 2: his face will stay in the same position, work out
- 24:22Speaker 2: this side a little bit.
- 24:23Speaker 1: You're right, he probably does like face lunges.
- 24:26Speaker 2: Oh yeah, totally or Guasha, Yes, he does.
- 24:32Speaker 1: He does that.
- 24:35Speaker 2: Spoken like you guys even know what that is.
- 24:38Speaker 4: Mm hm.
- 24:41Speaker 1: Even Trey doesn't know what that is.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Okay, for your one percent female audience, they will.
- 24:47Speaker 1: It's like thirty to forty. Yeah, then.
- 24:52Speaker 2: All right, I like that. Good for you guys.
- 24:56Speaker 1: But what is it?
- 24:57Speaker 2: Oh, I'm sorry, I'll talk skip on past. It's like
- 25:03Speaker 2: this little weird shaped like I don't want to call
- 25:07Speaker 2: it a crystal or a rock, but like you do
- 25:09Speaker 2: these things to get rid of wrinkles on your face
- 25:11Speaker 2: and to like lymphatic massage, get all the fat out.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Basically, so rub crystals on your nodes.
- 25:18Speaker 2: Yeah kind of yeah, got it.
- 25:21Speaker 12: Well, let's go back to de extincting animals we turned
- 25:25Speaker 12: out of that remarkable scientific breakthrough. Thirteen thousand years after
- 25:29Speaker 12: the last dire wolf walked the earth, scientists say they've
- 25:32Speaker 12: now brought them back. Oh good, here's our chief national
- 25:34Speaker 12: course by the back up and with the video tonight
- 25:36Speaker 12: possibly go wrong?
- 25:39Speaker 5: Tonight a how thirteen thousand years in the making. In
- 25:43Speaker 5: a first for science, biotech company Colossal Biosciences says it
- 25:47Speaker 5: brought the extinct dire wolf back to life, a species
- 25:51Speaker 5: that hasn't walked the earth since the Stone Age.
- 25:54Speaker 13: The direwolf is the first extinct species.
- 25:58Speaker 1: Well known from HBO's hit show Game of Thrones.
- 26:04Speaker 5: ABC New's given exclusive access into Colossal's lab in Dallas.
- 26:08Speaker 1: Or scientists are using genes from gray wolves to create
- 26:11Speaker 1: dire wolves.
- 26:13Speaker 13: We've taken a gray wolf genome, a gray wolf cell,
- 26:16Speaker 13: which is already genetically ninety nine point five percent identical
- 26:21Speaker 13: to dire wolves, and we've edited those cells at multiple
- 26:25Speaker 13: places in its DNA sequence to contain the dire wolf
- 26:28Speaker 13: version of the DNA. That animal looks like a dire wolf,
- 26:32Speaker 13: It will behave like a dire wolf, and it is
- 26:34Speaker 13: a dire wolf.
- 26:35Speaker 1: Now, all right? If she is that adamant about it.
- 26:40Speaker 1: To me, it just sounds like and correct me if
- 26:43Speaker 1: I'm wrong. Science Officer Trenholm. They made a gray wolf
- 26:47Speaker 1: white and are calling it a dire wolf.
- 26:49Speaker 2: Agreed.
- 26:52Speaker 8: That's everything I've read said. Yeah, yeah, yes, it's impressive.
- 26:56Speaker 8: But they have not really brought back a you know,
- 27:00Speaker 8: extinct species. They have just modified a gray wolf.
- 27:03Speaker 1: You know, there's a zoo in China that's been doing
- 27:06Speaker 1: this for years. They'll just like they'll just take a
- 27:10Speaker 1: dog and spray painted black and white and call it
- 27:13Speaker 1: a panda and it and it cost way less money.
- 27:19Speaker 1: I mean, you're talking about a trip to home depot
- 27:22Speaker 1: for some paint and a Wagner versus millions of dollars
- 27:26Speaker 1: in research dollars.
- 27:28Speaker 2: But it is cute.
- 27:30Speaker 1: Oh they are adorable.
- 27:31Speaker 2: I mean, but it's cute.
- 27:35Speaker 1: They are cute as puppies, there's no doubt.
- 27:38Speaker 4: I'm sure t rexes were adorable as babies.
- 27:42Speaker 1: Yeah, no, they weren't. In Jurassic Park. When that when
- 27:44Speaker 1: the little little raptor pops out of the egg or
- 27:46Speaker 1: little tea recor, it's like a you know, it's almost
- 27:48Speaker 1: like a It's just like a raspy kitten.
- 27:51Speaker 4: What what? What? What could go wrong?
- 27:54Speaker 2: I was about to say that means this is not
- 27:56Speaker 2: going to end well, Like somebody is gonna get their
- 27:58Speaker 2: face eaten off by the wolf and then we're all
- 28:02Speaker 2: going to be running from it soon.
- 28:03Speaker 1: I mean, look, and since this lab is based in Dallas,
- 28:06Speaker 1: I couldn't help but think doesn't Dallas have enough problems?
- 28:10Speaker 1: I mean, sitting in traffic on six point thirty five
- 28:13Speaker 1: is bad enough. I shouldn't have to worry about a
- 28:15Speaker 1: thirteen thousand year old dire wolf running through traffic eating people.
- 28:21Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, maybe.
- 28:23Speaker 2: It's gonna solve our rampant like the nasty pig problem
- 28:27Speaker 2: that we have.
- 28:28Speaker 1: The Farrell Hogs, Yeah, the Faral hogs.
- 28:30Speaker 2: Think you couldn't ruer what they were called.
- 28:32Speaker 4: Maybe can they get genetically engineer a quarterback for the Cowboys?
- 28:36Speaker 1: Oh, now we're talking at the dire situation.
- 28:42Speaker 3: You're in the treehouse.
- 28:45Speaker 11: Visit is online at Treehouse on Air dot com.
- 28:49Speaker 4: I like to think so I'll take Danny White.
- 28:52Speaker 3: Oh wow, you're in the treehouse.
- 29:04Speaker 11: Visit us online at Treehouse on Air dot com.
- 29:11Speaker 1: It is time to advertise here inside the Treehouse. Sponsorship

- 29:25Speaker 1: inside the treehouse. This is the Treehouse Show. I'm Dan,
- 29:27Speaker 1: He's Trey. She is Rebecca Black, our friend from DFW
- 29:32Speaker 1: Radio days. I like to think that somewhere Dak Prescott
- 29:38Speaker 1: is doing something enjoyable. And then he felt a shiver
- 29:41Speaker 1: down his spine at your comment, Trey, good on you.
- 29:46Speaker 4: I nearly went Gary huggaboom.
- 29:48Speaker 1: Holy wow, Rebecca, isn't your husband a football coach?
- 29:55Speaker 9: He is?
- 29:55Speaker 2: Yeah, McKinney North, Yeah, do you.
- 30:02Speaker 1: Know anything about quarterbacks? Is he on Jerry Jones's call
- 30:07Speaker 1: list for next head coach type job? Because we're pretty
- 30:09Speaker 1: desperate at this point, and I'm sure he's good.
- 30:12Speaker 2: I don't think he would want it.
- 30:14Speaker 1: Wow, an offensive line a high school offensive line coach
- 30:18Speaker 1: and look at the Cowboys job and go, I'm good.
- 30:20Speaker 2: Well, I'm gonna be honest. I think he's got a
- 30:22Speaker 2: better record than the Cowboys do, so it would be
- 30:26Speaker 2: like a step down.
- 30:28Speaker 3: Wow.
- 30:30Speaker 2: Like, let's be real, they suck, man. They haven't been
- 30:32Speaker 2: good since the nineties, since we won Super Bowl with
- 30:34Speaker 2: Troy Yigman. Jerry Jones trying to save this team.
- 30:41Speaker 1: Because if we can save the team somehow, we were
- 30:44Speaker 1: saving ourselves.
- 30:45Speaker 2: No, like we already killed the Mavericks. Now we've killed
- 30:48Speaker 2: the Cowboys. Like there's nothing left for us. Let's all
- 30:51Speaker 2: be hockey fans.
- 30:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean the stars are consistent.
- 30:55Speaker 2: Yeah, Like it's hard.
- 31:01Speaker 1: I can't skate, so yeah, to me, that is the
- 31:03Speaker 1: hard one. I stand a better chance at Major League
- 31:06Speaker 1: Baseball than I do Major hockey, and I don't stand
- 31:09Speaker 1: a chance at either. All right, let's jump into something
- 31:13Speaker 1: I was curious about with Rebecca. So like us, we
- 31:17Speaker 1: used to work in Dallas radio.
- 31:18Speaker 4: Now we don't.
- 31:20Speaker 1: Now we're all doing our podcast thing. We're on the
- 31:22Speaker 1: radio in Brownwood, Texas. Yeah for us, but none of
- 31:28Speaker 1: us have had to go through traditional job interview things
- 31:32Speaker 1: for the majority of our careers. So I hear Trey.
- 31:35Speaker 1: Was it yesterday or day before we were talking about
- 31:38Speaker 1: hiring managers at corporations? Now have these new tricks, some new,
- 31:44Speaker 1: some'm old for interviewees to see if they're the proper
- 31:49Speaker 1: fit for a job. It has nothing to do with
- 31:51Speaker 1: your work history, has nothing to do with your qualifications
- 31:54Speaker 1: or references. It's whether or not you pass the salt
- 31:57Speaker 1: and pepper test at a lunch interview, or whether or
- 32:00Speaker 1: not you pass the coffee cup test in the breakroom
- 32:04Speaker 1: for an interview. Rebecca, are you familiar with either of those?
- 32:08Speaker 2: I'm like, what's the coffee cup test?
- 32:10Speaker 1: The coffee cup test we learned is in an interview,
- 32:13Speaker 1: they will say, hey, before we get started, would you
- 32:16Speaker 1: like a cup of coffee or something from the breakroom?
- 32:17Speaker 1: And then you go whether you get a tea, coffee, water,
- 32:22Speaker 1: but if you use like one of their glasses or mugs,
- 32:25Speaker 1: what the interviewer is looking for after the interview is
- 32:29Speaker 1: whether or not you want to take it back to
- 32:31Speaker 1: the breakroom, Like if you just leave it on the
- 32:35Speaker 1: desk or set it someplace and forget it, they see
- 32:37Speaker 1: that as a sign of not being a team player,
- 32:40Speaker 1: being inconsiderate, and you're not going to get the gig.
- 32:43Speaker 2: Oh man, that's like so judgy. But then also when
- 32:47Speaker 2: you're in someone else's house, like, why would you not
- 32:50Speaker 2: take it to the sink?
- 32:51Speaker 8: Yeah, Trey, I mean everyone who ever worked in radio
- 32:56Speaker 8: would probably fail at that one, because yeah.
- 33:01Speaker 2: And now what would happen is me, being the diva
- 33:03Speaker 2: that I am, I'd be like, who the hell's gonna
- 33:05Speaker 2: get me coffee?
- 33:08Speaker 1: I would think the radio version of that would be,
- 33:11Speaker 1: unless you had an intern running baby for you, we'll
- 33:14Speaker 1: just take it back to the breakroom, throw it in
- 33:17Speaker 1: the breakroom somewhere, and wherever a lands is where it
- 33:20Speaker 1: now lives because no one cleans in breakrooms, and I
- 33:24Speaker 1: think that's true at major corporations or radio stations.
- 33:27Speaker 2: Agreed, the microwave is always disgusting at any job that.
- 33:30Speaker 1: You ever go to, and don't steal people's food.
- 33:35Speaker 2: That should wait, that should be on the test. The
- 33:39Speaker 2: microwave thing like are you willing to microwave broccoli or
- 33:43Speaker 2: do you bring fish to work?
- 33:45Speaker 4: Like?
- 33:45Speaker 2: If you answer yes to either of those questions, you done.
- 33:48Speaker 1: See I like the flip side of that, because I'm
- 33:52Speaker 1: okay to bring some fish in microwave. I'm okay to
- 33:55Speaker 1: do something stinky in the breakroom microwave because I'm trying
- 34:00Speaker 1: to eat healthy and you might be having your dale
- 34:04Speaker 1: old pizza that's being warmed up tempting me. So it's
- 34:08Speaker 1: only fair play to Yeah, it's a stretch.
- 34:12Speaker 2: You're the worst one, You're the worst. No, and I'm
- 34:15Speaker 2: not gonna if I'm being honest, I have one brought
- 34:18Speaker 2: tuna fish to work just to get back at people
- 34:21Speaker 2: who have like burned broccoli in the microwave.
- 34:24Speaker 1: Yeah, that's actually the reason I do it is because
- 34:26Speaker 1: I don't like people.
- 34:27Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 34:27Speaker 2: See, that's just we're just petty, that's all.
- 34:30Speaker 1: Yeah. Okay, so now that you know about the saltan
- 34:35Speaker 1: pepper test, oh sorry, the coffee cup test. The salt
- 34:38Speaker 1: and pepper test one was whether or not you season
- 34:40Speaker 1: your food before you taste it. Some hiring managers say
- 34:44Speaker 1: if you're if you're salting food before you eat it,
- 34:47Speaker 1: that's bad. Anyway, when was the last real job interview
- 34:53Speaker 1: you had, Rebecca?
- 34:55Speaker 3: Oh?
- 34:55Speaker 5: God?
- 34:56Speaker 2: Are you almost two years ago?
- 34:58Speaker 1: Maybe Trey has a little more experience in this realm
- 35:03Speaker 1: than I do, because most of my radio stuff and
- 35:06Speaker 1: interviews haven't really been interviews. It's here and that's pretty
- 35:11Speaker 1: much their their reaction to it. But it did make
- 35:14Speaker 1: me think about what are some of the no nos
- 35:18Speaker 1: at job interviews? Like, what are some of the things
- 35:20Speaker 1: you definitely should not do in a job interview? Because
- 35:24Speaker 1: people are losing jobs left and right, I think some
- 35:26Speaker 1: people might need to know these things. Trey, what would
- 35:29Speaker 1: be what would be a suggestion from you? Something not
- 35:32Speaker 1: to do in a job interview?
- 35:33Speaker 8: Be late, It's a good one, yeah, and anything service
- 35:38Speaker 8: industry related. Don't drink during the interview. You'll get offered it.
- 35:43Speaker 8: Don't do it?
- 35:44Speaker 1: Is that your test as a bar manager? Will you
- 35:47Speaker 1: ask them if they want a shot? If they say yes,
- 35:49Speaker 1: they don't get the job.
- 35:50Speaker 4: Oh ask them if they want to drink.
- 35:52Speaker 1: I'm out, and so are you asking it from a
- 35:56Speaker 1: general standpoint, like, hey, would you like something to drink?
- 35:58Speaker 1: And if they order alcohol, that's bad. But if they
- 36:00Speaker 1: say yes, I'd like some water, they're good.
- 36:02Speaker 8: Oh water, Yeah, water, fine, anything good. Don't don't drink
- 36:05Speaker 8: anything alcoholic, gotcha?
- 36:07Speaker 1: Okay, what if you.
- 36:09Speaker 2: Come in with Bailey's already in your coffee.
- 36:12Speaker 4: You're getting ordered out the door.
- 36:17Speaker 8: If you show up, if you show up to the
- 36:19Speaker 8: interview tanked, Yeah, no, thanks.
- 36:21Speaker 2: Right right, Like that's an automatic No, it has to be.
- 36:25Speaker 1: It has to be. Uh So, anyway, based on you know,
- 36:29Speaker 1: the salt and pepper test and the coffee cup test,
- 36:32Speaker 1: there's all these no nos that you're there's all these
- 36:34Speaker 1: things you're not supposed to do for a job interview.
- 36:38Speaker 1: I decided I'll come up with a few of my own.
- 36:41Speaker 1: So the Treehouse shows top five things not to do
- 36:43Speaker 1: in a job interview. Okay, okay. Number five, do not
- 36:47Speaker 1: punch the interviewer in the face and call yourself a disruptor.
- 36:52Speaker 1: I don't know how much. I don't know how much
- 36:54Speaker 1: LinkedIn lurking and scrolling you guys have done in recent years.
- 36:58Speaker 1: I do more of it. Everyone tries to over inflate themselves. Yes,
- 37:03Speaker 1: and calling yourself a disruptor because you do things differently
- 37:07Speaker 1: sounds really really dumb.
- 37:09Speaker 2: I think I've commented like, when I see the word disruptor,
- 37:12Speaker 2: it's immediate anger, like immediate, and I'm like, no, you're not.
- 37:16Speaker 2: You're a loser that found a word, and you're just
- 37:18Speaker 2: gonna hone in on that and try to collect as
- 37:20Speaker 2: much as you can off of it.
- 37:21Speaker 1: To me, it's like, if you use that word, you
- 37:23Speaker 1: just sound like a douche.
- 37:24Speaker 2: Yeah, immediately.
- 37:26Speaker 1: Yeah. Number four, when they ask for references, do not
- 37:29Speaker 1: show them naked photos of yourself.
- 37:32Speaker 2: What I thought, that's how you got the job?
- 37:41Speaker 1: No, you know what, that's something ladies can get away
- 37:43Speaker 1: with maybe, but I don't think Trey and A you're
- 37:45Speaker 1: gonna get away without it.
- 37:45Speaker 8: And there have been some morning shows, oh lord.
- 37:53Speaker 1: Number three, when they ask about career accomplishments, do not
- 37:56Speaker 1: recite Daniel day Lewis's I drink your milkshake speech.
- 38:00Speaker 2: That's empowering.
- 38:03Speaker 1: Yeah, but don't make it your but don't steal it
- 38:05Speaker 1: like you'd said it.
- 38:06Speaker 2: Oh oh that makes sense, Like you what if you
- 38:09Speaker 2: add quotations? And then Daniel J. Lewis like it's a source.
- 38:13Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, uh. Number two. When they ask if you
- 38:17Speaker 1: have any additional skills, do not say only fans and
- 38:23Speaker 1: number one of the top five no nos at a
- 38:25Speaker 1: job interview according to the Treehouse Show, when they ask
- 38:29Speaker 1: if you're a US citizen, do not say see, You're welcome.

- 39:27Speaker 1: DFW Radio Fame and today is Thursday, April tenth. Make
- 39:33Speaker 1: sure I got the correct date, because I got it wrong. Yesterday. Yes,
- 39:36Speaker 1: April tenth, twenty twenty five. Let's celebrate with some birthdays
- 39:42Speaker 1: turning thirty three today, She plays Rey. Yeah you didn't.
- 39:47Speaker 1: There we go. I need my woosh, I need my woosh. Otherwise, Birthdays,
- 39:52Speaker 1: Phil Neked turning thirty three today, Gray in the New
- 39:56Speaker 1: Star Wars movies. Her actual name, Daisy Ridley, is the
- 40:00Speaker 1: three today Daisy Ridley, thirty three, Ray in the New
- 40:04Speaker 1: Star Wars movies. Trey and I have talked a lot
- 40:05Speaker 1: about the New Star Wars movies. Rebecca, we're learning about
- 40:09Speaker 1: you today that you're a big movie buff like I am.
- 40:15Speaker 1: What were your thoughts on the New Star Wars movies?
- 40:21Speaker 2: Which one.
- 40:23Speaker 1: Of the new three? Of the ones that Daisy Ridley
- 40:26Speaker 1: was in, you got Force Awakens, then the Red one,
- 40:29Speaker 1: and then the last one where they had the furry horses.
- 40:32Speaker 2: Okay, was the Red one, the one with the big
- 40:34Speaker 2: red war scene.
- 40:36Speaker 1: Yes, that was the second one, directed by Ryan Johnson.
- 40:39Speaker 2: That was the coolest war scene of any war scenes
- 40:42Speaker 2: that I've seen ever. I thought it was awesome because
- 40:45Speaker 2: it looks like blood is everywhere. The movie itself, I
- 40:49Speaker 2: thought was But I did like the first with Daisy Ridley,
- 40:52Speaker 2: the Force Awakens. I thought it was fantastic.
- 40:55Speaker 1: I think you and I are on the same page there.
- 40:56Speaker 1: I liked the Force Awakens. Didn't love it, but I
- 40:58Speaker 1: liked it, but it set me up to have a
- 41:02Speaker 1: lot of hope for the future ones. And then in
- 41:05Speaker 1: that opening part of the second movie, I mean, the
- 41:10Speaker 1: whole first movie is all about getting that lightsaber back
- 41:12Speaker 1: to Luke Skywalker, and the first part of the second one,
- 41:14Speaker 1: Ryan Johnson turns the whole thing on its head and
- 41:17Speaker 1: Luke tosses it. I get why he did it, but
- 41:20Speaker 1: it also just felt like a huge middle finger to
- 41:22Speaker 1: Star Wars fans because he's like, I'm gonna do whatever
- 41:24Speaker 1: the hell I want and you.
- 41:25Speaker 2: Have to suck it, and you're gonna watch it anyway
- 41:28Speaker 2: so I can.
- 41:29Speaker 1: Yeah. And then the third one, to me was it
- 41:32Speaker 1: was just JJ Abrams trying to save whatever he could
- 41:34Speaker 1: and it just it didn't. It didn't work as much
- 41:36Speaker 1: as I wanted it to, it didn't.
- 41:38Speaker 2: And I don't think I saw the third one.
- 41:41Speaker 1: Yeah, you're fine, Okay, Trey, you're kind of on board
- 41:45Speaker 1: with that. I think you may. You may dislike them
- 41:47Speaker 1: a little bit more than me.
- 41:48Speaker 4: I disliked them a lot more than you, I believe.
- 41:51Speaker 1: I was trying to downplay it a little bit.
- 41:53Speaker 8: Yeah, the first one is mid at best that the
- 41:57Speaker 8: next two are trash.
- 41:58Speaker 4: I mean the next, the middle one. Your highlight is Yoda,
- 42:02Speaker 4: and then after that it's just all it's just crap.
- 42:05Speaker 2: What does it say about me as a person that
- 42:07Speaker 2: I liked the one with that was Darth Vader focused
- 42:11Speaker 2: and he just like is mowing down everybody.
- 42:14Speaker 1: Oh talking about Rogue one. Yes, that was great. I've
- 42:21Speaker 1: started a standalone that came out before those new ones. Yeah,
- 42:24Speaker 1: that one was fantastic.
- 42:26Speaker 2: Okay, cool. Then I'm not alone in that world.
- 42:28Speaker 1: No, No, I think I think most Star Wars fans
- 42:29Speaker 1: are like, oh, this movie's awesome.
- 42:31Speaker 2: Okay, cool.
- 42:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 42:32Speaker 1: Other birthdays today, moving on, Uh, We've got North Texas's own,
- 42:37Speaker 1: I believe from Grand Prairie. Baron Morris turns thirty five Today.
- 42:41Speaker 1: Country singer Baron Morris turns thirty five. Wow, Haley Joel
- 42:45Speaker 1: Osmond turns thirty seven. We were just talking about this
- 42:48Speaker 1: the other day, Trey, about how a lot of those
- 42:50Speaker 1: cute Hollywood actor kids don't always stay cute. Haley Joel
- 42:56Speaker 1: Osmond's one of the great recent examples of that. And
- 42:59Speaker 1: not to pick on the guy, but I mean it.
- 43:03Speaker 2: He's unrecognizable these days. He's got like the thick beard.
- 43:07Speaker 2: He's a little bit heavier, I mean, like night and
- 43:10Speaker 2: day difference from his cuteness persona.
- 43:13Speaker 1: Yeah, he's got that. It's like it's it's the dirty
- 43:15Speaker 1: neck beard trying to hide the thing.
- 43:20Speaker 4: Literally, it's like he grew out, not up.
- 43:23Speaker 1: Yeah, you're right, he's probably the same height that he
- 43:26Speaker 1: was in the sixth sense. Uh oh, he's just really Yeah. Sorry,
- 43:33Speaker 1: I know a guy. We're not fat shaming him. We're
- 43:37Speaker 1: just we're just that.
- 43:42Speaker 3: Sorry.
- 43:42Speaker 1: Sorry, Haley, he heard you.
- 43:46Speaker 2: He's mad.
- 43:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm sure he cares. Putting on a pile of money.
- 43:51Speaker 11: You're in the Treehouse because it is online a Treehouse
- 43:55Speaker 11: on Air dot com.
- 43:59Speaker 3: M Goods.
- 44:10Speaker 11: Listen us online at Treehouse on air dot com.
- 44:15Speaker 1: This is the Treehouse Show. I'm Dan, He's Trey. We've
- 44:18Speaker 1: got just a little bit more left inside the Treehouse
- 44:21Speaker 1: with our friend Rebecca Black from DFW Radio Fame along
- 44:25Speaker 1: with us, also from her Haunted af podcast that you
- 44:29Speaker 1: can get everywhere you get your podcasts, including where you
- 44:32Speaker 1: can get our podcast all the same cool platforms and
- 44:35Speaker 1: also with special content on Patreon. You can also find
- 44:40Speaker 1: Haunted af there Rebecca Black and her friend Julie co host.
- 44:44Speaker 1: So we were talking earlier today about whether or not
- 44:49Speaker 1: we should trust Hollywood with our fond childhood memories as
- 44:52Speaker 1: they remake or reboot or make sequels from movies that
- 44:57Speaker 1: are twenty twenty five, thirty thirty five years old, like
- 45:01Speaker 1: they're doing with Goonies, like they did with Top Gun,
- 45:05Speaker 1: and they've done with so many other things, and really
- 45:07Speaker 1: it seems like the only one that they've really done
- 45:09Speaker 1: well was the Top Gun Maverick sequel. But Rebecca, you
- 45:13Speaker 1: said there's another one coming out that you're hopeful for.
- 45:18Speaker 2: Yeah, and that has to be Gremlins. Remember other movie Gremlins.
- 45:22Speaker 1: Of course, both of them.
- 45:24Speaker 2: Yeah. And the only reason why I have high hopes
- 45:27Speaker 2: for this is because they've decided that they're not going
- 45:29Speaker 2: to use CGI and they're going to actually create the
- 45:32Speaker 2: special effects like they did back in the eighties.
- 45:35Speaker 1: Nice great, Yeah, was that a Jim Henson creature type thing?
- 45:40Speaker 2: Totally? Yeah?
- 45:41Speaker 1: So are they doing a Grimlins three or are they
- 45:45Speaker 1: doing like a complete Gremlins remake?
- 45:48Speaker 2: And you know what, I'm actually not sure. I don't
- 45:50Speaker 2: know that they've come out and said if they're doing
- 45:53Speaker 2: a remake, or if they're going to just can pick up,
- 45:56Speaker 2: you know, X amount of years later. I kind of
- 45:58Speaker 2: hope they just pick up X amount of years later.
- 46:01Speaker 1: I'm okay with that because at least then that way
- 46:03Speaker 1: you're not messing too much with the original stuff. Because
- 46:08Speaker 1: I will say, can you.
- 46:09Speaker 2: Imagine Little Gizmo on his deathbed because he's so old?
- 46:12Speaker 3: Now?
- 46:13Speaker 1: Oh now I can't. That would sell some serious toys.
- 46:15Speaker 1: It just looks like a fuzzy Yoda. Yes, they may,
- 46:19Speaker 1: they may do that. I mean that's really what Actually,
- 46:22Speaker 1: that's really all Gizmo was was was a fuzzy Yoda.
- 46:24Speaker 1: It's the same years, all right. So yeah, Grimlin's three.
- 46:29Speaker 1: We don't know if it's a reboot or a sequel
- 46:31Speaker 1: or a remake. And there's and that's hard to follow, Hollywood,
- 46:35Speaker 1: so please get that straight.
- 46:37Speaker 2: Be specific when you put out the press release.
- 46:40Speaker 8: Yeah, there's another, supposely a remake coming out that Dan,
- 46:47Speaker 8: you will be very interested in because you're a big
- 46:52Speaker 8: fan of the original.
- 46:54Speaker 1: Are they doing Are they doing American Ninja six or
- 46:57Speaker 1: Jim Katta two?
- 47:00Speaker 2: What are those movies?
- 47:01Speaker 1: I'll tell you later. We don't have enough. Yeah, I
- 47:06Speaker 1: don't have enough time to explain Jim Cotton. Uh, Predator,
- 47:10Speaker 1: Oh wait that you know that I'm all about. That's
- 47:14Speaker 1: Predator bad Lands.
- 47:15Speaker 2: There's like twelve Predators already though. Yeah, and don't they
- 47:19Speaker 2: all somehow relate to Prometheus or whatever?
- 47:25Speaker 3: Uh?
- 47:25Speaker 1: There is a crossover, so in the in the alien
- 47:28Speaker 1: universe where it's the Xenomorphs and the Predators universe, they
- 47:33Speaker 1: do crossover. Got you had the Alien Verse? Predator had
- 47:37Speaker 1: a couple of those, which, honestly, those really weren't that
- 47:39Speaker 1: good of movies. And I was high. I was really
- 47:42Speaker 1: hopeful for those, but most.
- 47:46Speaker 4: Of the how how were you hopeful for those?
- 47:49Speaker 1: I was hoping. I was hoping they would be good.
- 47:51Speaker 2: What's not to love? You have an alien versus a
- 47:54Speaker 2: predator and then they just fight the whole movie. That
- 47:58Speaker 2: sounds amazing, it does they?
- 48:00Speaker 8: Yeah, Rebecca, you need you. Y'all can talk and watch
- 48:04Speaker 8: Jim Cotta together. You clearly are on the same plane.
- 48:07Speaker 2: Okay, it's a date then, Dan, you and I we're
- 48:10Speaker 2: gonna get together.
- 48:12Speaker 1: The uh uh, the new the new Predator movie I'm
- 48:17Speaker 1: I'm hopeful for because I've seen all the Predator movies of.
- 48:21Speaker 4: Course you have.
- 48:22Speaker 1: They're not bad?
- 48:24Speaker 4: Quit Oh oh really Predator? Predator two is not bad?
- 48:28Speaker 1: Which is your Predator too?
- 48:29Speaker 2: Which is your favorite Predator? The original?
- 48:33Speaker 1: You you know, it's it's hard to go up against
- 48:36Speaker 1: the original of anything that starts it. But I have
- 48:39Speaker 1: a serious fondness for uh Prey, which was the newest
- 48:44Speaker 1: one that was the Native American Girl versus the Predator.
- 48:49Speaker 1: I loved that. I thought that movie was so much fun.
- 48:54Speaker 1: And that's why they're making this next Predator because that
- 48:56Speaker 1: one was good.
- 48:57Speaker 2: See enough people watched it, Tray, so shut up.
- 49:01Speaker 4: Did you see it?
- 49:02Speaker 2: No?
- 49:03Speaker 4: Then shut up?
- 49:10Speaker 1: That would that would be two for two for the
- 49:12Speaker 1: Treehouse and Trey of making DFW radio women. Shut up.
- 49:18Speaker 1: I'm not saying it's a good thing for all things Treehouse.
- 49:21Speaker 1: Go to Treehouse on Air dot com, find and follow
