- 0:13Speaker 3: It was bo.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Wow that prime time. Maybe I had a crush on
- 0:18Speaker 1: Betty Rubble.
- 0:19Speaker 2: I honestly, until after the segment ended and we went
- 0:22Speaker 2: to a commercial break, had no idea that Jonathan Coachman
- 0:25Speaker 2: was black.
- 0:25Speaker 1: He caught them the game last night, although they won
- 0:28Speaker 1: the game.
- 0:29Speaker 2: You're listening to to Godson Company. It is to gods
- 0:32Speaker 2: a company presented by Fandel O. The fandel sportsbook Israel
- 0:35Speaker 2: bootieras by Keya Taylor all on Zoom.
- 0:38Speaker 1: It is early where I am.
- 0:40Speaker 2: He saw it all over my face and probably hears
- 0:42Speaker 2: it all over my voice.
- 0:44Speaker 4: I hear it now when you're turning on the podcast
- 0:47Speaker 4: voice that it's struggling a little bit. I'm like, wow,
- 0:49Speaker 4: that is West Coast too. If I've ever seen him
- 0:51Speaker 4: or heard.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Him too much travel. I mean, this is unhealthy, it
- 0:54Speaker 2: really is. I gotta go to I am in California
- 0:58Speaker 2: right now and have to go to Rawley North A
- 1:00Speaker 2: line of today, how about that?
- 1:01Speaker 3: Yeah, Well, if it isn't the consequences of your own actions?
- 1:05Speaker 1: Yes, my daughter, I mean Jesus.
- 1:07Speaker 4: Yeah, all that's true, and you know we can all
- 1:09Speaker 4: get us. Still a hard time for traveling when he
- 1:11Speaker 4: doesn't really have to. But Stu, just come back to
- 1:14Speaker 4: us in one piece, please. There are so many crazy
- 1:16Speaker 4: things happening in the air. I just want you to
- 1:19Speaker 4: land in Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach or Miami, whichever
- 1:22Speaker 4: airport of your choosing, in one piece. Please.
- 1:24Speaker 2: What kind of friend of you? I mean, seriously, who
- 1:27Speaker 2: does this? Who's scares something? Wish you the best? Why?
- 1:30Speaker 4: Look, I'm telling you we don't know when we're gonna
- 1:33Speaker 4: say hello or goodbye for the last time to people
- 1:36Speaker 4: that we love. So all I'm saying is you're in
- 1:38Speaker 4: a little bit of a risky situation and I want
- 1:41Speaker 4: you to come home safely.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Yes, mikeye go aheads.
- 1:43Speaker 5: Talking to Izzy before you fly is like watching a
- 1:46Speaker 5: scary movie before you go to sleep.
- 1:48Speaker 1: What are we doing, Isy, I'm going to cancel my flights.
- 1:51Speaker 4: I mean, I think you're good. Just don't go into
- 1:54Speaker 4: La Guardia.
- 1:57Speaker 2: What is it that happened on the ground, by the way,
- 1:59Speaker 2: what has happened in the air though that I'm not
- 2:01Speaker 2: aware of anything.
- 2:02Speaker 4: I'm not sure. I feel like something fell out of
- 2:04Speaker 4: the sky over in LaGuardia. But yeah, either way, you
- 2:09Speaker 4: step on a play, even if it's just being in
- 2:12Speaker 4: a line for hours, your life is at stake.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Yes, okay, thanks, and when you get in your car,
- 2:17Speaker 2: your life is at stake.
- 2:18Speaker 4: No, it's a good reminder. Thank you, see for helping
- 2:21Speaker 4: each other out here.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Now you're not helping me at all. I am now.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Nervous because I feel like I'm terribly unaware of some
- 2:27Speaker 2: other things that have happened in the sky. Am I
- 2:29Speaker 2: be honest? Tell me I'm nervous. The No, that's it,
- 2:32Speaker 2: all right? What happened on your softball field?
- 2:34Speaker 1: You guys? So you had your first game? Yes, Taylor,
- 2:38Speaker 1: go ahead.
- 2:39Speaker 3: I was gonna say, there's good news and bad news.
- 2:43Speaker 1: About flying No.
- 2:44Speaker 3: About the softball game. The good news, I'll start on
- 2:48Speaker 3: a positive note. The good news was it was game one.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Yeah, well it was game two yet a bye week, Yeah, right,
- 2:54Speaker 2: game one for us.
- 2:56Speaker 3: The bad news is we lost nineteen three and we
- 3:00Speaker 3: got run rolled.
- 3:01Speaker 1: After the third day. So you went home early.
- 3:04Speaker 4: I mean, congratulations, can I Okay? I don't understand recreational softball.
- 3:09Speaker 4: I'm about to insult a lot of people here. It
- 3:12Speaker 4: seems a little like just there's not enough activity.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Right.
- 3:17Speaker 4: Well maybe, okay, so Stu here's my thing. I had
- 3:19Speaker 4: a little bit of an issue because I get there
- 3:22Speaker 4: and I realize as I'm getting out of the car
- 3:25Speaker 4: fifteen minutes before the game starts, I left my entire
- 3:28Speaker 4: bag at home when had my cleats in it, it
- 3:30Speaker 4: had my glove in it, and I put it by
- 3:31Speaker 4: the door, and I was just like, hmm. And my
- 3:34Speaker 4: first thought was they're going to think I did this
- 3:36Speaker 4: on purpose because I didn't really want to play. And
- 3:38Speaker 4: I was just like, I've got way more ways to
- 3:40Speaker 4: get out of playing than having to drive all the
- 3:42Speaker 4: way back home and drive back to the park.
- 3:44Speaker 1: So now I'm thinking it now, okay, yes, I wait.
- 3:46Speaker 4: Right now, And Taylor, I'm guessing what happened. You guys
- 3:48Speaker 4: just put me at a DH position and said, hey,
- 3:50Speaker 4: he'll be back.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Yeah, so everybody hits, but you can only have ten
- 3:54Speaker 3: people in the field, so we just kind of assumed
- 3:56Speaker 3: you wouldn't have wanted to play in the field.
- 3:58Speaker 4: No, I mean I would have. I would have been
- 4:00Speaker 4: fine play in the field get my feet wet, especially
- 4:02Speaker 4: when you know we haven't when we're losing and we're
- 4:04Speaker 4: gonna get mercy ruled or whatever. But yeah, I definitely
- 4:07Speaker 4: wanted to get my feet wet there. But I did
- 4:10Speaker 4: come in like fifteen minutes after the game started with
- 4:13Speaker 4: that Mikey with.
- 4:14Speaker 5: Clarification when you say, we thought, who's creating this lineup?
- 4:19Speaker 5: Is it you, Taylor, or is there somebody else? Like
- 4:21Speaker 5: put me there?
- 4:24Speaker 3: So we're on a team of free agents, so nobody
- 4:27Speaker 3: really jumped to take the lead. So one guy just
- 4:30Speaker 3: kind of was like, I'll try to handle this, and
- 4:33Speaker 3: we just asked everybody their their best positions. But as
- 4:37Speaker 3: you could clearly tell, we couldn't have done much worse
- 4:40Speaker 3: with Izzy in the field, because I don't want to
- 4:43Speaker 3: throw anybody under the bus. But roommate Ian was one
- 4:48Speaker 3: of the worst offenders I've ever seen.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Less ar right, Taylor put it on the pole.
- 4:52Speaker 2: When you say you don't want to throw somebody under
- 4:54Speaker 2: the bus, are you about to throw them under the bus?
- 4:56Speaker 1: Yes? Yeah, bus hurtling towards that.
- 5:00Speaker 4: Don't you play with the regularly?
- 5:03Speaker 1: Yes?
- 5:04Speaker 3: And every time I played with him, he's a very
- 5:06Speaker 3: good defender. The first inning, Stude, they hit a pop
- 5:09Speaker 3: up to him, he completely misplays it. He comes back
- 5:12Speaker 3: to the dugout and he's like, I think I need
- 5:15Speaker 3: to put my glasses on. The contacts are messing up
- 5:17Speaker 3: with the light he made. He made four more errors
- 5:21Speaker 3: that inning, and I'm standing next to him. He's in
- 5:23Speaker 3: left field, I'm in center field. I'm standing next to
- 5:26Speaker 3: him like, I bet you kind of wish your girlfriend
- 5:27Speaker 3: didn't come to.
- 5:28Speaker 4: This game right now.
- 5:29Speaker 2: His girlfriend was watching Get out of here. That is
- 5:33Speaker 2: the saddest thing I've ever heard.
- 5:36Speaker 3: So at one point, he's made like six errors now
- 5:39Speaker 3: at this point.
- 5:41Speaker 4: And again the game yet yet again.
- 5:44Speaker 3: In left field. Yes, in left field, he's making a
- 5:46Speaker 3: lot of errors.
- 5:47Speaker 4: And Mikey, this was a team of Alrighty's just every right.
- 5:50Speaker 4: There wasn't a single lefty in that lineup, and everything
- 5:53Speaker 4: was just getting pinged, just from what I saw, was
- 5:55Speaker 4: getting pinged directly directly to left field.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Right.
- 5:58Speaker 3: So after a while I'm like, Ian, you go to center,
- 6:02Speaker 3: I'll go to left. The second we do that, right
- 6:06Speaker 3: the next ball gets launched to center field and I'm like,
- 6:09Speaker 3: oh no, he drops it again. So now I'm going
- 6:13Speaker 3: over to him. I'm like, hey, switch back, switch back.
- 6:16Speaker 3: He can't really hear me. So now there's nobody in
- 6:20Speaker 3: left field as this play is going on, and I'm
- 6:23Speaker 3: standing behind Ian, probably fifteen feet behind him.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Because you're Andrew Jones, right.
- 6:30Speaker 3: So nobody's in the left field. We have two people
- 6:33Speaker 3: staggered in center field, and I just hear the ball
- 6:37Speaker 3: get roped and it's coming again straight to Ian. The
- 6:43Speaker 3: ball hits off his glove and flies up in the air,
- 6:46Speaker 3: and I'm like, I think I could catch this, make
- 6:49Speaker 3: a diving catch. The only highlight play we had the
- 6:52Speaker 3: entire game.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Right, was your diving catch?
- 6:54Speaker 4: Who's the person? Because it was hard for me to
- 6:56Speaker 4: see back there, right, So I got I get to
- 6:58Speaker 4: the game. We're in the field. I think that's Taylor
- 7:01Speaker 4: out in center field. I'm not really sure what he's wearing.
- 7:04Speaker 4: But then I see him drop a ball and I
- 7:06Speaker 4: was like, there's no chance that's Taylor. Somebody else. And
- 7:10Speaker 4: then they came in from from the end of that
- 7:12Speaker 4: halfening and I was like, Okay, that was Taylor out
- 7:13Speaker 4: and left so he didn't drop anything. But my experience
- 7:17Speaker 4: is so I get there and I'm like I hear
- 7:19Speaker 4: from Anthony. He's like, hey, your wish might be coming true.
- 7:22Speaker 4: I think we're about to get mercy ruled and you
- 7:24Speaker 4: won't have to do a damn thing. I was like, this.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Works out perfectly.
- 7:27Speaker 4: But I'm getting there. I've got my slides on, and
- 7:31Speaker 4: they're like, is he I think you're up next? And
- 7:32Speaker 4: I was like, what do you mean?
- 7:33Speaker 1: Okay?
- 7:34Speaker 4: And so I'm like putting on my shoes and my
- 7:35Speaker 4: football cleats because I don't have baseball cleats, putting on
- 7:38Speaker 4: my shoes. And then I hear like strike two and
- 7:40Speaker 4: I was like, oh wow, I better hurry up.
- 7:42Speaker 2: So so you're down two strikes before you even enter
- 7:44Speaker 2: the batter's box.
- 7:45Speaker 4: The guy that's in the actual battle.
- 7:47Speaker 2: All right in front of him, Shame on him for
- 7:49Speaker 2: getting to two strikes. I mean, it's fucking softball.
- 7:51Speaker 1: For crying out a few minutes, okay, okay, good start
- 7:58Speaker 1: trying to get into their worst day. Who doesn't want
- 8:00Speaker 1: to play? Yes? Good?
- 8:01Speaker 4: And so I'm like I get my I tie my
- 8:04Speaker 4: shoe and they go, you're up. I'm like, great, I
- 8:06Speaker 4: don't get a practice swing. I don't even know which.
- 8:09Speaker 4: I'm like, is this the bat okay, I'll use this
- 8:10Speaker 4: bat here. I haven't had a softball, right, anything that
- 8:14Speaker 4: size thrown at me in that you know, whatever speed,
- 8:19Speaker 4: in twenty seven years. And so I get up there,
- 8:22Speaker 4: not even with a practice swing. It's like, all right,
- 8:23Speaker 4: let's do this. And I didn't know you start with
- 8:25Speaker 4: a one one count and I see the ball coming in.
- 8:27Speaker 4: I'm just like, based on my twenty years of experience,
- 8:31Speaker 4: that looks like it's going to be short boom right
- 8:33Speaker 4: on the plate. That's a strike. I was like, okay,
- 8:34Speaker 4: now I have to swing everything unless it's terrible, you know.
- 8:38Speaker 4: And then some I'm like, because it's one two in
- 8:40Speaker 4: the count is what you want to and it's got
- 8:42Speaker 4: to be fair. So if it's foul, I strikeout. So
- 8:44Speaker 4: it's like, all right, there we go. And I was like, yep,
- 8:46Speaker 4: that ball looks exactly like the last one. Here I
- 8:48Speaker 4: go swinging a miss, inning over and then this, uh,
- 8:54Speaker 4: you know, the other half of the inningcomes. They just
- 8:56Speaker 4: mercy rule us and the game's over. That's it. I
- 8:59Speaker 4: showed up five minutes, got one swing, struck out, and
- 9:03Speaker 4: the game's over. And I'm like, it's nine to eighteen.
- 9:05Speaker 4: How is this already over. It started at nine o'clock. Yeah,
- 9:09Speaker 4: and I guess you just gotta be better. He just
- 9:11Speaker 4: got to be better if you want to play forty minutes,
- 9:13Speaker 4: ycause otherwise.
- 9:14Speaker 2: All you get is twenty. It seems like it worked
- 9:16Speaker 2: out well for you, though. I think that's what you wanted.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Want it bat your home I would have left to
- 9:20Speaker 2: hit a little.
- 9:20Speaker 4: Dribbler up the middle, maybe make some contact with that
- 9:23Speaker 4: leg it out.
- 9:26Speaker 3: So we're going to have to totally reset goals and
- 9:29Speaker 3: expectations because my goal was to just win a game, right,
- 9:34Speaker 3: I think our next goal has to be not get
- 9:36Speaker 3: mercy ruled in.
- 9:38Speaker 1: I think your next goal is to get rid of
- 9:40Speaker 1: fucking IoT. That is the next goal.
- 9:44Speaker 3: This is like a savvy vet on the team, like
- 9:46Speaker 3: I just have to trust he just had a bad game.
- 9:49Speaker 1: It's an.
- 9:51Speaker 4: No. But he was wearing because he was wearing a
- 9:52Speaker 4: dr hat, it was very confusing to me.
- 9:54Speaker 2: Really he's Jewish.
- 10:00Speaker 3: So our team, we couldn't have gotten off to a
- 10:03Speaker 3: better start, is he Because before you got there, our
- 10:07Speaker 3: our leadoff hitter. Some kid is like, I'll bat leadoff.
- 10:11Speaker 3: He gets up there, he gets a home run first pitch.
- 10:14Speaker 4: This guy's really good.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Really good.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Wow, So you got off to a good start, a
- 10:18Speaker 2: lead off home run, and Israel had to go home
- 10:20Speaker 2: to get his stuff.
- 10:22Speaker 4: Yes, that was probably pumping gas at this point.
- 10:25Speaker 3: So the first inning we score. I think we score
- 10:28Speaker 3: all three of our runs in the first inning. I
- 10:29Speaker 3: know for fact we score all three of our then,
- 10:32Speaker 3: so before we take.
- 10:34Speaker 1: The field, and is he came back.
- 10:36Speaker 3: No, you can't even blame this on Izzy, right, because
- 10:40Speaker 3: our team made about twenty five errors in the field,
- 10:43Speaker 3: and is he didn't even step in the field.
- 10:46Speaker 1: Right, it's because he forgot his stuff. Tail.
- 10:49Speaker 5: You can't you can't blame it on Izzy because while
- 10:52Speaker 5: you guys are getting mercy ruled, he's in line for
- 10:54Speaker 5: a pub sub or something.
- 10:57Speaker 4: Right.
- 10:57Speaker 2: You were taking your time getting back there, right, You
- 10:59Speaker 2: were shooting to get back to the softball, certainly, Right.
- 11:02Speaker 2: It's so uncharacteristic of you to forget your stuff. I mean,
- 11:06Speaker 2: I feel like you did it purposely. You are so organized.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Is he like you're ready to go thirty minutes before
- 11:11Speaker 2: you know?
- 11:12Speaker 4: No, I was. And so I'm sitting at the door
- 11:14Speaker 4: and I see Anthony walking out, and he's got this
- 11:16Speaker 4: backpack with bats sticking out, and and I just got
- 11:20Speaker 4: to grab my bag, which right by the door.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Well there's a difference. Anthony wanted to be there.
- 11:23Speaker 3: You did it, Sorry, Taylor, Anthony, Anthony and his only
- 11:26Speaker 3: a bat struck out looking flicking.
- 11:29Speaker 4: I did more than him.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Wow, bat on the shoulder, What did you do? Trailer?
- 11:34Speaker 3: Yeah, So my first at bat, I hit a like
- 11:37Speaker 3: a line drive single in front of the center fielder,
- 11:40Speaker 3: and then I'm the I'm I think I'm the only
- 11:43Speaker 3: person who got up a second time outside of like
- 11:45Speaker 3: three other people Mikey. The second time I got up,
- 11:49Speaker 3: the picture got in my head because I'm stepping up
- 11:53Speaker 3: and he's going move in outfield, move in out whoa.
- 11:58Speaker 1: That's part a softball.
- 11:59Speaker 3: It is.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a big part of the game.
- 12:01Speaker 4: It is made. Do you really need to if you're
- 12:03Speaker 4: your mercy ruling the other team, do you really need
- 12:05Speaker 4: to call out the opponent like that? Yes, at least
- 12:07Speaker 4: have a sign or something, you know, make it so outvious.
- 12:10Speaker 2: Now you say it out loud, you embarrass him, and
- 12:12Speaker 2: you start to get in his head.
- 12:13Speaker 1: That's what you do, even if he's Andrew Jones. I mean,
- 12:16Speaker 1: but I don't know.
- 12:18Speaker 4: Like I did the math, I was like, all right,
- 12:19Speaker 4: we're playing this mini game that was seven dollars worth
- 12:22Speaker 4: of softball right there for me to get one thing
- 12:25Speaker 4: and not touch anything. It's like all right.
- 12:28Speaker 3: The next week, Stude, maybe my favorite moment of the
- 12:31Speaker 3: game was, now Ian's got the yips in the outfield.
- 12:36Speaker 3: Anybody that comes his way, I'm getting scared for him. Yes,
- 12:40Speaker 3: they they rope a grounder in between third and short
- 12:46Speaker 3: and it's just going to Ian. He he just has
- 12:48Speaker 3: to stop. He just has to stay in front of
- 12:50Speaker 3: the ball.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Right, But he's lacking confidence at this point, so yeah,
- 12:53Speaker 2: I get it right what he.
- 12:55Speaker 3: Is He is leaking confidence right right. The ball all
- 13:00Speaker 3: goes through his legs and goes all the way to
- 13:02Speaker 3: the outfield wall, and I'm watching him run to the
- 13:06Speaker 3: wall to get the ball. And he said that when
- 13:09Speaker 3: he's running to the wall to get the ball, he
- 13:12Speaker 3: almost just kept going to his car knocking.
- 13:14Speaker 4: Back, which by the way, is exactly what Taylor did.
- 13:21Speaker 4: And Ian, as soon as the game was over, like
- 13:23Speaker 4: we're over there, we're like settling in and just like
- 13:25Speaker 4: because I had just gotten there, said a few words,
- 13:27Speaker 4: and so like Anthony and I are like all right,
- 13:29Speaker 4: now we got all this stuff and we look and
- 13:31Speaker 4: Taylor and Ian long gone, like he's long gone. And
- 13:34Speaker 4: I was like, all right, by Taylor, sela because it worked.
- 13:38Speaker 4: You know, it was a little late of the nine
- 13:40Speaker 4: pm start, so I'm thinking he's probably not gonna go,
- 13:42Speaker 4: you know, maybe get a drink afterward or whatever, but
- 13:44Speaker 4: maybe and it's just like, Okay, we'll see you later.
- 13:47Speaker 4: And it was the most irish of goodbyes I've ever
- 13:50Speaker 4: seen from my Italian friend. So I'm like, you'd not
- 13:53Speaker 4: like us or was it just a little later?
- 13:56Speaker 2: Well, I mean, and you were embarrassed and shamed and
- 13:59Speaker 2: no one wants that way, Taylor.
- 14:01Speaker 1: So you rode with Ian? Is that is that accurate?
- 14:04Speaker 3: No, we took separate cars. He showed up to the
- 14:07Speaker 3: game with his girlfriend. I have this text from him
- 14:09Speaker 3: just so people don't think I'm embellishing how bad his
- 14:12Speaker 3: performance was. Yeah, most embarrassing sporting experience of my life.
- 14:17Speaker 3: My girlfriend probably thinks I made it up when I
- 14:19Speaker 3: said I was good.
- 14:19Speaker 1: At sports, Well she does. Did you break up.
- 14:27Speaker 4: And he wanted to get out of there as fast
- 14:29Speaker 4: as possible. I'll give you a pass on that one, Taylor.
- 14:32Speaker 4: If you have.
- 14:33Speaker 5: Eight errors on the field and left field. Can you
- 14:35Speaker 5: ever say you're good at sports again?
- 14:37Speaker 2: Put it on no, no, and she should break up
- 14:39Speaker 2: with him if she hasn't already.
- 14:40Speaker 4: I mean.
- 14:42Speaker 3: This, this text he sent me, is he what time
- 14:45Speaker 3: would you say that game ended?
- 14:46Speaker 4: We got our night back fairly early nine seventeen. I
- 14:48Speaker 4: looked exactly when it ended.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Home, in time for the end of the Pistons the
- 14:53Speaker 1: Lakers game.
- 14:53Speaker 3: Now that so this text message just to show you,
- 15:00Speaker 3: was at twelve thirty.
- 15:02Speaker 1: Am from Ian, So he's still thinking about it right.
- 15:05Speaker 3: Twelve thirty am. I keep replaying my seven errors. Just
- 15:09Speaker 3: a nightmare out there.
- 15:14Speaker 4: And you wonder why I didn't want to get put
- 15:16Speaker 4: out there. Somebody who does not claim to be good
- 15:19Speaker 4: at this sport not gonna have fourteen errors.
- 15:21Speaker 2: Yes, but Ian was so bad. I have a feeling
- 15:23Speaker 2: you will be out there at some point busy.
- 15:26Speaker 4: I mean, I'm out of your stuff. Taylor, who was
- 15:28Speaker 4: the person who ended up catching the dropped pass or
- 15:31Speaker 4: the dropped ball in center field? There was one that
- 15:33Speaker 4: bounced off somebody that you dove in at the end.
- 15:35Speaker 4: It was Yes, that was the one time I heard
- 15:40Speaker 4: the other team complimenting us. Wow, that's a good catch
- 15:43Speaker 4: by that guy over there.
- 15:44Speaker 2: So Taylor walked away from that game even though you
- 15:47Speaker 2: guys got blown out of the ballpark. He felt good
- 15:51Speaker 2: about his performance. I catch, I mean, so I didn't.
- 15:56Speaker 3: I felt good about my defense. Again, the defense was
- 15:59Speaker 3: never a concern. The lasting moment for that game for
- 16:02Speaker 3: me is gonna be when they said bring the outfield
- 16:05Speaker 3: in when I was bad and what you do? Yeah,
- 16:08Speaker 3: all right, I popped off to the shortstop.
- 16:10Speaker 2: Then you want to know why, because you were trying
- 16:11Speaker 2: to hit the ball so fucking hard to prove that
- 16:13Speaker 2: picture wrong.
- 16:14Speaker 1: And that's why he did it. And he was right.
- 16:16Speaker 4: Yes, he's also got Taylor does. He's got this weird
- 16:18Speaker 4: like pre swing swing, like he gives a little half
- 16:22Speaker 4: swing and then swings, and I'm like, that's got to
- 16:24Speaker 4: throw off your timing.
- 16:25Speaker 1: As the ball's coming.
- 16:26Speaker 4: I mean, unless that was something he did in that
- 16:28Speaker 4: one at bat, but it looked like it to me.
- 16:29Speaker 2: So hold on, Taylor, because I know sometimes you'll stand,
- 16:32Speaker 2: you know, you'll stand over a golf ball and you'll
- 16:34Speaker 2: bring your club back right just to kind of get
- 16:38Speaker 2: the motion going and then bring it.
- 16:39Speaker 1: To a full stop in front of the ball. Again.
- 16:41Speaker 2: And then do it. Taylor, you're taking is this? Explain
- 16:45Speaker 2: yourself because I'm confused as to why you're taking a
- 16:47Speaker 2: half swing before the.
- 16:49Speaker 4: Confused as to what I'm saying.
- 16:50Speaker 3: Right, So I'm gonna have to go back and look
- 16:53Speaker 3: at the tape what because I don't know what I'm
- 16:56Speaker 3: doing hitting. Listen, I've never claimed to be Barry Bonds.
- 16:59Speaker 4: Joe balls in the air. You kind of gave one
- 17:02Speaker 4: of these and then like you kind of gave a
- 17:04Speaker 4: half swing and then win. Now it's just like all right,
- 17:06Speaker 4: I mean I could see that working, but it didn't
- 17:08Speaker 4: seem like it worked for you.
- 17:09Speaker 3: So I'm strictly a tool two.
- 17:11Speaker 1: Tool critiquing someone else.
- 17:13Speaker 3: I'm a tool tool player fielding, base running. That's that's
- 17:17Speaker 3: really all I bring to the table.
- 17:19Speaker 1: Two tools.
- 17:19Speaker 4: Yes, I'm a one tool player. I can maybe run
- 17:23Speaker 4: the bases.
- 17:25Speaker 1: That should be your name for you and I and
- 17:26Speaker 1: two tools the tools.
- 17:40Speaker 2: I need to stay on this softball game for just
- 17:42Speaker 2: a second. And this terrible team the Teller and Israel
- 17:46Speaker 2: part of with their best player or one of their
- 17:49Speaker 2: best players, or a guy who claims to be their best.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Player, where's a d R hat He's Jewish, He's terrible. Okay,
- 17:56Speaker 1: his name is I.
- 17:58Speaker 4: I mean that's a good summary.
- 18:01Speaker 2: And is he's late to the game and trying to
- 18:03Speaker 2: avoid getting to the game. But Mike yea, I am
- 18:06Speaker 2: wondering here because you and I are not playing on
- 18:08Speaker 2: this team, thankfully, and so I am wondering here.
- 18:12Speaker 1: How do you feel about the guy who brings.
- 18:14Speaker 2: His girlfriend to an I don't even know how would.
- 18:19Speaker 1: You would define it?
- 18:20Speaker 4: Is it a league?
- 18:20Speaker 1: A guy who brings his girlfriend to a softball game?
- 18:23Speaker 1: That means nothing.
- 18:24Speaker 5: It's it's a bold It's a bold move, especially if
- 18:28Speaker 5: you are not one hundred percent sure that you can
- 18:31Speaker 5: catch a pop up. And I can't imagine Ian is
- 18:34Speaker 5: now one hundred percent confident he can do it.
- 18:36Speaker 2: Yes, Uh do you think they were doomed so they
- 18:40Speaker 2: showed up to this field?
- 18:41Speaker 1: Is he's late?
- 18:42Speaker 2: They're scattered, people are all over the place, there is
- 18:46Speaker 2: no one is organized. And the other team shows up
- 18:49Speaker 2: in uniforms. They have numbers, uniforms. I'm assuming names on
- 18:53Speaker 2: the back of those uniforms. Perhaps the uniforms were sponsored
- 18:56Speaker 2: by a local plumbing company.
- 18:57Speaker 1: I have no idea. That's the way you do it.
- 19:00Speaker 4: Softball they're conditioning.
- 19:01Speaker 1: I think, right, Mikey, do.
- 19:02Speaker 2: You just turn around and go home when the other
- 19:04Speaker 2: team is wearing uniforms?
- 19:07Speaker 5: I mean, yeah, yeah, if it's not one of those
- 19:09Speaker 5: leagues where everybody is given uniforms. Yeah, yes, you show
- 19:12Speaker 5: up and they're all wearing uniforms and you just go, okay,
- 19:15Speaker 5: we're done.
- 19:16Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 19:17Speaker 2: Yes, they're texting each other in the morning, going game day,
- 19:20Speaker 2: game day, game day, game day, and is he's trying
- 19:23Speaker 2: to figure out how to avoid game day.
- 19:25Speaker 3: Yeah, there is somebody who is texted.
- 19:27Speaker 5: Going, I've been looking over the lineup, and I'm starting
- 19:30Speaker 5: to think we can need to swap seven and nine
- 19:33Speaker 5: and give us a little more speed on the base paths.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Right, And this is the kind of team I've been
- 19:37Speaker 2: in these softball leagues where now they're talking shit.
- 19:39Speaker 1: About you guys.
- 19:40Speaker 2: You just know it behind your backs, like hey, Israel
- 19:42Speaker 2: goody eras he doesn't want to be there, and they're
- 19:45Speaker 2: circulating that around the league.
- 19:46Speaker 3: Yes, that ESPN guy.
- 19:50Speaker 1: Yeah, and the jew and the dr hat not good.
- 19:54Speaker 3: I went into that game so optimistic and the only
- 20:00Speaker 3: thing I have last night for dinner, stew It's humble pot.
- 20:03Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I'm considering not telling them that I actually
- 20:09Speaker 4: am a Dominican because then they'll be super disappointed. They'll
- 20:12Speaker 4: be like, this freaking guy, tell them you're Jewish, Well,
- 20:16Speaker 4: Nate's Israel. I probably go away with it.
- 20:18Speaker 3: Show up wearing an Israel hat.
- 20:21Speaker 4: Wow, actually these days that might be dangerous, but I
- 20:24Speaker 4: might do it.
- 20:25Speaker 5: Anyways, as wearing a tr hat right now.
- 20:31Speaker 4: I did get a couple of these stew like a
- 20:33Speaker 4: couple double takes while I was in the handshake line.
- 20:36Speaker 4: I was like, yeah, that was me striking out like idiots.
- 20:41Speaker 1: Did anyone peppery with NBA questions?
- 20:44Speaker 4: No, maybe next week, but no, not yet.
- 20:47Speaker 2: I mean uniforms suck. I mean you show up and a
- 20:49Speaker 2: team has uniforms. They've been waiting for that game there
- 20:52Speaker 2: this season, for their entire lives. This is their year.
- 20:55Speaker 4: I really don't understand the point of uniforms either, because
- 20:58Speaker 4: we all know which side you're on, you're on the
- 21:00Speaker 4: and the other teams in bed. Why do we need uniforms?
- 21:02Speaker 1: Are we talking in.
- 21:03Speaker 3: The sleeveless what are we talking about?
- 21:05Speaker 5: Or just T shirts?
- 21:07Speaker 3: I think it was the ones with like a couple
- 21:08Speaker 3: of buttons like at the top.
- 21:11Speaker 4: You pay, you pay extra for that.
- 21:14Speaker 3: Yeah, and they were all wearing baseball pants too, right right,
- 21:18Speaker 3: Oh that's the worst.
- 21:19Speaker 4: See. I wore like whatever, the compression long sleeve pants
- 21:24Speaker 4: and AJ's like, what are you going to be doing
- 21:26Speaker 4: a bunch of sliding? And I was just like, I
- 21:28Speaker 4: don't know what I'm gonna be doing. I haven't played
- 21:30Speaker 4: in twenty seven years, and I'd like to protect my knees.
- 21:32Speaker 2: Sliding seems to be your game, though. I mean, you're
- 21:34Speaker 2: not gonna hit one out of the outfield. You're gonna
- 21:36Speaker 2: try to lug out a single. You might slide in
- 21:37Speaker 2: the first and who fucking cares. You gotta do what
- 21:39Speaker 2: you gotta do to get on base. You know, maybe
- 21:42Speaker 2: maybe it'll be a fill in slider.
- 21:44Speaker 1: Right.
- 21:45Speaker 5: So the team you played, the team you played definitely
- 21:48Speaker 5: tries the hidden ball trick.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Oh at some point, Oh no doubt did they.
- 21:52Speaker 3: The team we play has practiced tonight, probably.
- 21:57Speaker 1: The game because they didn't get enough softball in against you. Guys.
- 22:00Speaker 3: We give up three to that team. Get on the
- 22:03Speaker 3: end line.
- 22:04Speaker 1: The starter's job is in question.
- 22:08Speaker 4: There are two guys on our team who definitely regret
- 22:11Speaker 4: joining the league. The one guy who started let off
- 22:13Speaker 4: with the homer who had.
- 22:14Speaker 1: Staring at one of them.
- 22:17Speaker 4: He's third place, third place because these other two guys
- 22:20Speaker 4: really good and their infielders. And I'm telling you, Taylor,
- 22:24Speaker 4: tell me I'm wrong. Not the guy who hit the
- 22:25Speaker 4: home run, not the shortstop, but I think the first baseman.
- 22:28Speaker 4: Tell me, if you didn't squint, he looked exactly like
- 22:30Speaker 4: Derek Jeter.
- 22:32Speaker 3: I can't see that. So is he you missed his
- 22:34Speaker 3: at bat?
- 22:35Speaker 4: Huh?
- 22:36Speaker 3: His at bat was after he was our two hitter, right,
- 22:40Speaker 3: he almost went back to back. He thought he hit
- 22:42Speaker 3: a home run, so he got a very long single.
- 22:45Speaker 3: So that's when we were starting to feel like a
- 22:47Speaker 3: little good.
- 22:48Speaker 4: I was up next.
- 22:49Speaker 3: I hit him over to third, and then I think
- 22:52Speaker 3: we got no hit from that point on.
- 22:54Speaker 1: No hitting softball. A KEG League softball team with.
- 22:59Speaker 4: Like a half dozen strikeouts.
- 23:01Speaker 1: Oh my god, you guys should be ashamed of yourselves.
- 23:04Speaker 4: Wait till we play football, you know what. I'm gonna
- 23:06Speaker 4: have somebody film a little bit off football. We'll actually
- 23:08Speaker 4: have some footage. And so what do you mean until
- 23:11Speaker 4: we play football?
- 23:11Speaker 2: This team is so good at softball they're now playing football.
- 23:14Speaker 4: Different, different, different group of people.
- 23:18Speaker 5: I want to see video of the softball.
- 23:20Speaker 4: I'll do sure the football.
- 23:22Speaker 5: I'm sure you guys are going to be competent enough
- 23:25Speaker 5: that it's gonna be like, oh, yeah, that was that
- 23:26Speaker 5: was a nice play the softball I want. I want
- 23:29Speaker 5: the Benny Hill music behind it. I want to get
- 23:31Speaker 5: the other team scream and check your game, change your
- 23:33Speaker 5: app for updates.
- 23:34Speaker 2: I would like to I would like to volunteer my
- 23:37Speaker 2: services to call one of these softball games live from
- 23:40Speaker 2: the field.
- 23:40Speaker 5: Please your color app.
- 23:44Speaker 3: Thank you so, Mikey funny enough that you should mention
- 23:49Speaker 3: that idea. I was talking to Billy Gill earlier this
- 23:53Speaker 3: week and I was like, I think I'm gonna do
- 23:55Speaker 3: a a office style documentary on this softball team. And
- 24:00Speaker 3: then after the game he said, how'd it go? Did
- 24:02Speaker 3: you get any video? And I go, Billy, I didn't
- 24:05Speaker 3: get any video, but if I did, it would be
- 24:07Speaker 3: embargoed because I would never want people to see that.
- 24:10Speaker 2: Billy is now going to go to the ends of
- 24:12Speaker 2: the earth to try to find that. You don't say
- 24:14Speaker 2: that to Billy. When you tell Billy that embarrassing things
- 24:18Speaker 2: happened to you, Billy will go on a quest until
- 24:20Speaker 2: the end.
- 24:21Speaker 1: Of time to find out what it was and get
- 24:22Speaker 1: proof of it.
- 24:23Speaker 4: He will, because I'm telling you, the video of Roy
- 24:28Speaker 4: jump roping might be the most damning athletic feet or
- 24:31Speaker 4: attempt anybody at that show has ever done, never saw
- 24:35Speaker 4: the light of day.
- 24:35Speaker 2: No, Roy's a great athlete. I mean, Roy hit a
- 24:37Speaker 2: baseball outside. He did, he hit I was there. I
- 24:40Speaker 2: think if you saw him.
- 24:41Speaker 4: Jump rope, you would completely change your mind.
- 24:43Speaker 2: I know, but I saw him hit a baseball out
- 24:46Speaker 2: of Marlin's Park.
- 24:48Speaker 4: But I'm telling you what I saw, and I'm telling
- 24:50Speaker 4: you it's more impressive on the opposite end of the
- 24:53Speaker 4: spectrum than hitting a home run in a Major League
- 24:55Speaker 4: baseball park.
- 24:56Speaker 3: So I consider Roommdian like a brother. We've grown up together,
- 25:01Speaker 3: we played baseball together for our entire life. I would
- 25:05Speaker 3: never do that to him, putting out that footage. That's
- 25:09Speaker 3: how bad it was.
- 25:09Speaker 1: Really, that's softball. It's always like a brother. I know,
- 25:13Speaker 1: but you got I mean, that is softball. It is.
- 25:16Speaker 1: You're right, that's softball.
- 25:18Speaker 2: But you can't sit around telling everyone how great you are,
- 25:20Speaker 2: bring your girlfriend to the game.
- 25:22Speaker 1: And then put up a dud like that. After the
- 25:24Speaker 1: pie week he was rested.
- 25:27Speaker 5: You and I have different versions of brothers, because my
- 25:30Speaker 5: brothers would have that on the internet.
- 25:32Speaker 1: Yes, yes, Billy's my brother.
- 25:34Speaker 4: You have any easy out, just be like as he
- 25:37Speaker 4: did it. Mikey did it. It doesn't happen to be you.
- 25:39Speaker 4: How to get the film? Don't ask any more questions,
- 25:41Speaker 4: you know.
- 25:42Speaker 1: Tell him I demanded it.
- 25:46Speaker 4: Your job was at stake. There you go, easy answer.
- 25:48Speaker 3: We got Stu call in our next game.
- 25:50Speaker 2: Oh well, and Mikey, by the way, I can't get
- 25:54Speaker 2: him to fly to have for anything but for this.
- 25:58Speaker 1: For this.
- 25:58Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm more than willing to play the field as
- 26:01Speaker 4: long as there's still some sunlight out because man, it's
- 26:04Speaker 4: hard to see things at night.
- 26:05Speaker 1: Yeah, it's cracking up. Excuse machine, Jesus, go ahead.
- 26:09Speaker 5: I'm so excited about doing this. I'll fly out of LaGuardia.
- 26:15Speaker 2: I've now canceled my flights.
- 26:19Speaker 4: Great, well, it's my fault.
- 26:24Speaker 1: Walk from LA to Raleigh. Oh my god.
- 26:28Speaker 2: Please keep us posted on the softball every every single
- 26:31Speaker 2: fucking second of it.
- 26:32Speaker 1: And I want to eat on the show.
- 26:34Speaker 4: Well, my guess is, if if Taylor performs well in football,
- 26:37Speaker 4: he's gonna want to tell you about it too.
- 26:39Speaker 1: Yes.
- 26:41Speaker 2: The only way I'll know if you guys aren't you
- 26:44Speaker 2: know if you don't have a story, is if you
- 26:47Speaker 2: guys just win a game and neither of you really
- 26:49Speaker 2: do anything good or bet right, that's right, because what
- 26:53Speaker 2: what Taylor is now.
- 26:54Speaker 1: Looking for is his own accomplishment.
- 26:56Speaker 2: So we could talk about him on the air and
- 26:58Speaker 2: to Embarrassizzi and he course, yes.
- 27:01Speaker 3: Yeah, So admittedly I was on the fence about joining
- 27:05Speaker 3: is He's flag football league? Just because my football days
- 27:08Speaker 3: are kind of behind me. I put that chapter in
- 27:12Speaker 3: the past. But softball I's so bad stow that I'm
- 27:15Speaker 3: looking for any excuse to get out there.
- 27:17Speaker 4: Just tell yourself, you put tackle football behind you. Flag
- 27:20Speaker 4: football is a whole different chapter in your life.
- 27:22Speaker 1: You would gonna love it. He is searching.
- 27:26Speaker 2: He is sprinting away from the stink of that softball
- 27:28Speaker 2: team and that league.
- 27:30Speaker 1: He joined a badminton league tonight if he could.
- 27:33Speaker 4: He's gonna show up the football with a mint and
- 27:36Speaker 4: just catch everything with the gloves so he doesn't have
- 27:38Speaker 4: to have that stench of softball on him? Will he is?
- 27:41Speaker 1: Andrew? Joe? Is he?
- 27:43Speaker 2: What'd you make of no way of transitioning out of
- 27:47Speaker 2: softball talk. I want to stay here for the remainder
- 27:49Speaker 2: of Toime. I gotta be honest with you. I was Billy,
- 27:53Speaker 2: by the way I asked that question. No one responded,
- 27:55Speaker 2: I miss Billy.
- 27:56Speaker 4: How was he?
- 27:56Speaker 1: Taylor good?
- 27:57Speaker 3: He's good?
- 27:58Speaker 1: All right?
- 27:58Speaker 3: We're just in a baseball TI group.
- 28:01Speaker 2: Chet Okay, does Billy want to be a part of
- 28:04Speaker 2: the saltball team. Billy's a good athlete.
- 28:07Speaker 3: It's way too far for him. After where we're c B.
- 28:13Speaker 3: Smith Park, Westchester to Fort Lauderdale.
- 28:17Speaker 4: That might as well be LaGuardia. He lives in proper Miami.
- 28:19Speaker 4: This is pretty far for him.
- 28:21Speaker 1: I miss him dearly.
- 28:22Speaker 2: What'd you make of Wemby last night after the game
- 28:25Speaker 2: talking about MVP.
- 28:27Speaker 1: You know what I love about well is he's gonna
- 28:29Speaker 1: tell him to slow down a second.
- 28:32Speaker 2: I love that these things, that playing forty minutes every night,
- 28:36Speaker 2: that winning regular season games, that having a chip on
- 28:40Speaker 2: your shoulder, remembering like small petty things that made the
- 28:44Speaker 2: NBA great, remembering what he did against certain teams and
- 28:47Speaker 2: who did what to him during certain games. I love
- 28:50Speaker 2: that he keeps all that, he stashes it all away
- 28:53Speaker 2: in his brain and then he comes out after the
- 28:55Speaker 2: game last night and they asked him about the MVP
- 28:58Speaker 2: and have you been thinking of about it? And he's
- 29:01Speaker 2: honest and he's candid, and he's like, yeah, I have.
- 29:04Speaker 1: And then he.
- 29:05Speaker 2: Pulls out all the reasons as to why he should
- 29:08Speaker 2: be the MVP of the NBA, and I happen to
- 29:12Speaker 2: agree with him. Is he like he took some shots
- 29:13Speaker 2: there at Joki for not playing defense? He made it
- 29:16Speaker 2: clear that they've had their way against Oklahoma City, which
- 29:19Speaker 2: they had, which they have this year. I just like Wemby.
- 29:22Speaker 2: He brings me back to a different time. He brings
- 29:24Speaker 2: me back to the eighties.
- 29:24Speaker 4: I do he cares about Yeah, yeah, But be careful though,
- 29:27Speaker 4: because he's going from like mister likable Wenby to mister
- 29:31Speaker 4: not so likable if you start maybe disrespecting other players.
- 29:35Speaker 4: And I don't mean not so likable for fans, I
- 29:37Speaker 4: mean not so likable within the league.
- 29:39Speaker 1: Right.
- 29:39Speaker 4: You already know what he lost me when he didn't
- 29:42Speaker 4: give Bam his props for the eighty three.
- 29:44Speaker 2: Yes, but what I love about him is maybe he
- 29:46Speaker 2: is losing some popularity inside of that league.
- 29:49Speaker 1: He doesn't give a shit. Is he great?
- 29:50Speaker 2: Cares about his own legacy, his own team, and he
- 29:52Speaker 2: cares about winning championships, and.
- 29:54Speaker 4: When everybody, if he wins, and everybody else in that
- 29:57Speaker 4: league is looking at him like, yeah, it's a little unfair.
- 29:59Speaker 4: You're a f taller than everybody else. Don't give me
- 30:01Speaker 4: that nonsense. Like somebody like Wemby should recognize that his
- 30:06Speaker 4: you know, gifts are a little greater than others. And
- 30:09Speaker 4: then maybe, and this is why I'm sticking on this part. First,
- 30:11Speaker 4: maybe give Bam some credit for developing into a player
- 30:14Speaker 4: who could score eighty three as opposed to you know,
- 30:16Speaker 4: sticking and being the player that he is. Like, we
- 30:19Speaker 4: all know the advantage that you have, Wemby.
- 30:21Speaker 2: Right, But I love that he's not going to give
- 30:23Speaker 2: that to Bam. He's just not you know, he's not now,
- 30:26Speaker 2: but he's not gonna do it in a way that's
- 30:27Speaker 2: not tasteful.
- 30:28Speaker 1: He's not just rippy. He loves Bam.
- 30:30Speaker 2: I'm sure, I'm certain he thinks, he respects him, thinks
- 30:32Speaker 2: he's a good player.
- 30:33Speaker 1: He's just gonna speak honestly all the time. This guy
- 30:37Speaker 1: is he.
- 30:37Speaker 3: When I heard Wemby say this after the game last night,
- 30:40Speaker 3: my first thought was like, Wow, the we're getting to
- 30:43Speaker 3: the end of the season, the MVP race must be
- 30:45Speaker 3: pretty close for Wemby to come out this publicly and
- 30:48Speaker 3: kind of state his case. Then I go on FanDuel
- 30:51Speaker 3: Wemby's plus twelve hundred to win the MVP SGA is
- 30:56Speaker 3: minus nine hundred to win.
- 30:57Speaker 4: His best chance is if those other guys just start
- 30:59Speaker 4: missing games and don't play the sixty five and then
- 31:02Speaker 4: he wins on a technicality. Because the thing that bugs me,
- 31:04Speaker 4: and I'm so glad you brought this up too, because
- 31:06Speaker 4: I didn't want to sound like just a hater, But
- 31:08Speaker 4: the thing that bugs me is he's trying to piece
- 31:10Speaker 4: together the final elements of his MVP case at the
- 31:13Speaker 4: end of the season, where you've got, yeah, you're gonna
- 31:16Speaker 4: play some high intensity games for people that are trying,
- 31:19Speaker 4: but then you're gonna play a lot of games that
- 31:22Speaker 4: they're not even trying. In the slightest more so than
- 31:24Speaker 4: the first half of the season. It's going to be
- 31:26Speaker 4: mostly down the stretch here, and so you can pile
- 31:28Speaker 4: up your numbers then, and so to me, especially with
- 31:32Speaker 4: the sixty five game rule, now the end of the
- 31:34Speaker 4: season is just gonna be Hey, whoever's leading the MVP race.
- 31:37Speaker 4: Just get to that sixty five number because to the
- 31:40Speaker 4: last ten or so games of the season not really
- 31:43Speaker 4: going to factor into the MVP voting. So I don't
- 31:45Speaker 4: think he's got a real shot at it, to be honest, dpoy, yes, MVP.
- 31:48Speaker 1: No, where's Wenby at in terms of games?
- 31:51Speaker 4: He can miss two more games? I believe. I looked
- 31:54Speaker 4: that up a couple games ago.
- 31:55Speaker 2: You believe you believe he's a guy that would love
- 31:58Speaker 2: to play all eighty two.
- 31:59Speaker 1: He's not a void, right.
- 32:01Speaker 4: No, I think he is. I think he's the type
- 32:02Speaker 4: of guy that takes care of his body. I think
- 32:04Speaker 4: he's you know, unless he because he's got so much
- 32:06Speaker 4: body that there's a lot to run into randomly and
- 32:09Speaker 4: so you get like a freak accident here or there.
- 32:11Speaker 4: But no, he's somebody that wants to play. He is mentally,
- 32:15Speaker 4: and I've said this before, this way before the band
- 32:17Speaker 4: thing I said is going into this season, he is
- 32:19Speaker 4: mentally the dream player for a guy to have for
- 32:22Speaker 4: an organization, to be your franchise player because of his mentality.
- 32:26Speaker 1: Uh, he's sitting there. He's asked that question a lot
- 32:29Speaker 1: of guys.
- 32:29Speaker 2: The easy thing to do in that spot is just
- 32:31Speaker 2: not No, I haven't thought about the No. I'm thinking
- 32:33Speaker 2: about what in an NBA championship And he's like no.
- 32:36Speaker 2: And he didn't do the easy thing. He didn't take
- 32:37Speaker 2: the easy path. He gave an honest answer and he
- 32:39Speaker 2: backed it up with facts. And I love that he
- 32:41Speaker 2: thought about it.
- 32:42Speaker 3: Yeah, is he If you ought to have given a
- 32:44Speaker 3: ward out for having the Thunder's number, would he go
- 32:46Speaker 3: to Wemby?
- 32:47Speaker 1: Well?
- 32:47Speaker 4: Yes, yes, because especially ever since they started.
- 32:50Speaker 1: The Great War? Is yes?
- 32:52Speaker 4: What a weird award, the Chat versus Wemby thing that
- 32:55Speaker 4: already set in motion the rivalry in Wemby's head. So
- 32:59Speaker 4: it's and you throw in the MVP of Shay. I
- 33:02Speaker 4: think that's probably his biggest rival. But the one thing
- 33:08Speaker 4: that I find kind of I don't know one thing
- 33:10Speaker 4: I thought of Taylor when I heard him give his Well,
- 33:14Speaker 4: my one reason is this, My reason number two is
- 33:15Speaker 4: this some My reason number three is this Like he's
- 33:17Speaker 4: giving a prepared speech in front of a high school class. Well,
- 33:19Speaker 4: he's thought about it's well, yeah, thought about it a
- 33:22Speaker 4: lot and knew he'd get asked his question. And it
- 33:24Speaker 4: reminded me of like in the Traders when you're at
- 33:27Speaker 4: the roundtable, the person who has the most organized defense
- 33:30Speaker 4: of themselves probably a trader because they've thought about it
- 33:32Speaker 4: all night long and said, I know this is going
- 33:34Speaker 4: to come up. I So it felt like it's kind
- 33:37Speaker 4: of trader behavior, yes from Wemby there, but I didn't
- 33:40Speaker 4: love like he's young enough in his career having not
- 33:44Speaker 4: really won anything to yeah, I'm going to make this
- 33:47Speaker 4: case publicly, but ten years from now he's going to
- 33:49Speaker 4: look back and say, yeah, why did I do that.
- 33:51Speaker 4: I didn't need to say that. Let my game talk
- 33:52Speaker 4: for itself. Because he's just sitting here typing up how
- 33:55Speaker 4: important defense is, and it's just like, yeah, we've heard
- 33:57Speaker 4: that before, but you're probably above that. You don't need
- 33:59Speaker 4: to be the pr guy for your own awards cases.
- 34:02Speaker 1: I am. I'm really focusing in on this having your
- 34:05Speaker 1: number award? How does this work?
- 34:07Speaker 2: What happens is Oklahoma City, they gather around, they're like, hey,
- 34:10Speaker 2: who has our number? And they give that award to
- 34:12Speaker 2: Wendy And what's the award? What's it look like? Is
- 34:15Speaker 2: it their main number? Like gold plated?
- 34:17Speaker 4: You get it on the road and all the fans,
- 34:19Speaker 4: out of respect, are just bowing to you. Hey, good
- 34:21Speaker 4: job man.
- 34:22Speaker 3: So it's kind of you kind of have to agree
- 34:24Speaker 3: upon whoever the best team is in the NBA, and
- 34:27Speaker 3: then whoever does the best against that person during the season. Yes,
- 34:32Speaker 3: you get that award, the thunder right now, the thunder
- 34:36Speaker 3: Struck Award.
- 34:38Speaker 4: Change the name every year every year. I like it.
- 34:42Speaker 4: See that's what he does when he's got out there
- 34:44Speaker 4: in the outfield all the time. To think he just
- 34:46Speaker 4: comes up with these brilliant ideas.
- 34:49Speaker 1: When you're out there with you and that's all you got.
- 34:52Speaker 3: I just got a text from you in Yeah you
- 34:54Speaker 3: think I Do you think I need an outfield glove?
- 34:58Speaker 1: No, he needs athletic ability. E
