- 0:00Speaker 1: No. The Mark Simone Show. Nine till noon weekdays. More Mark.
- 0:07Speaker 2: 710WOR.
- 0:08Speaker 1: Hey, let's take some calls. 800-321-0710 is the number. 800-321-0710.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Let's go to Lou in Oyster Bay. Lou, how you doing?
- 0:21Speaker 2: Mark, love your show.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Love you.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Talked to you last time about Sean Hannity and the
- 0:25Speaker 2: steak at Rothman's.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Rothman's? Great restaurant. Yeah. Sbarro family owns it now, and
- 0:32Speaker 1: they just opened a new one in Smithtown called Chaz.
- 0:36Speaker 2: I know all about it.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Oh, you do?
- 0:38Speaker 2: But anyway, a little pet peeve, a little pet peeve. Listen,
- 0:41Speaker 2: I'm a retired Port Authority police officer. My brother was NYPD,
- 0:45Speaker 2: retired also, second grade detective. And God bless him, my son,
- 0:49Speaker 2: three months out of the academy, NYPD.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Very good.
- 0:54Speaker 2: I say this with all love and respect. Nothing against NYPD,
- 0:57Speaker 2: but the Port Authority's got to protect its house. You
- 1:00Speaker 2: had said earlier that there were 25 NYPD cops on
- 1:03Speaker 2: the grounds of Port Authority. And God bless, NYPD also
- 1:07Speaker 2: lost officers that day. So, again, this is nothing. It's
- 1:10Speaker 2: just they were– Port Authority runs the World Trade Center,
- 1:13Speaker 2: and there were 25 Port Authority cops there.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. And NYPD also has cops. They don't work
- 1:19Speaker 1: in the building, but they work what they call the perimeter.
- 1:21Speaker 1: They do.
- 1:21Speaker 2: Yeah. Absolutely, but I just wanted to give them the recognition,
- 1:24Speaker 2: the department, because we're always living under the shadow of
- 1:27Speaker 2: the NYPD.
- 1:28Speaker 1: You know that.
- 1:29Speaker 2: You're from New York.
- 1:30Speaker 1: Port Authority Police.
- 1:31Speaker 2: You're a cop in New York.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Port Authority Police are great, but they're not the real NYPD.
- 1:36Speaker 1: They're not Andy Sipolis.
- 1:37Speaker 2: I was just going to say that. I was just
- 1:39Speaker 2: going to say that.
- 1:40Speaker 1: They're not Jamie Reagan, let's be honest.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Yeah, well, if you're not a cop.
- 1:46Speaker 1: They're not Danny Reagan.
- 1:48Speaker 2: In New York City... And you're not in NYPD. You're
- 1:51Speaker 2: just not NYPD. So we've got to give our little
- 1:53Speaker 2: shouts out once in a while. All right. Thank you, Mark.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Great show.
- 1:56Speaker 1: They're not square badges, but they're not Danny Reagan.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Well, we did lose 37 guys on 9-11.
- 2:02Speaker 1: No, I know. I know. Port Authority police are very good.
- 2:04Speaker 1: All right.
- 2:06Speaker 2: We still wear the badge. We still wear the shield.
- 2:08Speaker 2: And I have this conversation in bold breaking with my brother.
- 2:11Speaker 2: And now my son is going to bust my chops now, too.
- 2:13Speaker 1: I've got to be honest, Lou. You're a little touchy.
- 2:16Speaker 1: A little touchy. I want you to go to Rothman's
- 2:19Speaker 1: tonight and have a drink. I will.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Have a great show, as always.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Go across the street. Christina's Market, one of the best
- 2:25Speaker 1: supermarkets in the world. Let's go to Jim in New Jersey. Jim,
- 2:30Speaker 1: how are you doing?
- 2:32Speaker 3: Hi, Mark.
- 2:32Speaker 2: I want to let everybody know why Republicans don't want
- 2:36Speaker 2: to vote. One of the big issues is they don't
- 2:39Speaker 2: want to get on jury duty. You go to vote.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Well, I hate to break it to you. I don't
- 2:44Speaker 1: mean to bring up reality here, but it's not 1973 anymore.
- 2:47Speaker 1: They don't use the voter rolls for jury duty. They
- 2:49Speaker 1: use motor vehicles. They use leases, rents. It's not based
- 2:55Speaker 1: on who votes anymore. Well, that's good to hear. The
- 3:00Speaker 1: reason they do that is over the years, less and
- 3:02Speaker 1: less people vote. So take this last mayoral race, you know,
- 3:07Speaker 1: like 12 percent of the public vote. So they can't
- 3:09Speaker 1: rely on the voter rolls to look for names anymore.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Let's go to David in Queens. David, how are you doing?
- 3:16Speaker 3: Hey, Mark. Good morning, Mark.
- 3:17Speaker 2: With all due respect, I don't believe that radio hosts
- 3:21Speaker 2: or anyone in like media should be commenting on.
- 3:24Speaker 3: The Clancy case.
- 3:25Speaker 1: OK, we'll stop. Let's go to Vincent in Brooklyn.
- 3:29Speaker 3: Vincent, how are you doing? Good morning, Mark. Mark, I
- 3:35Speaker 3: just want to comment on Lindsey Clancy's lawyer.
- 3:38Speaker 1: I'm sorry, you're not allowed to. Word came down from
- 3:42Speaker 1: Dave and wherever the hell he was.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Well, hey, Dave. I used to throw bums like that.
- 3:48Speaker 3: That guy looks like some old rummy that routinely I
- 3:52Speaker 3: would send one of the bouncers in the club to
- 3:55Speaker 3: throw in the street. That guy is 75 years old. Well,
- 4:01Speaker 3: I begged the public to go on Instagram in January 2024.
- 4:07Speaker 3: There's a photo of Mark Simone and myself in the
- 4:11Speaker 3: iHeart Studios, the WOR Studios. And at the time, I
- 4:16Speaker 3: was 75 years old. Really?
- 4:18Speaker 1: You're kidding.
- 4:20Speaker 2: What?
- 4:21Speaker 1: You're kidding. You don't look it.
- 4:23Speaker 3: Well, that's what I'm saying. That guy looked like old
- 4:26Speaker 3: rummies that I would routinely have to throw out because
- 4:30Speaker 3: they'd overstay their welcome or they'd have their hands in
- 4:34Speaker 3: the wrong place in the club. So, anyway, I could
- 4:40Speaker 3: see how that one holdout wanted a pinup for murder.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Well, listen, Vincent, I like when you use those old-fashioned
- 4:48Speaker 1: terms like a rummy. A rummy. That's like, look here,
- 4:51Speaker 1: you mugs.
- 4:53Speaker 3: An old drunk, man. How about that? But this woman
- 4:58Speaker 3: should be sent. Is Creedmoor still in operation, Mark?
- 5:02Speaker 1: I have no idea.
- 5:03Speaker 3: Well, they should send her. I know Kings Park out
- 5:07Speaker 3: in Long Island, that nut, St. Louis Island, is still
- 5:11Speaker 3: in operation. They should send her to the equivalent place
- 5:15Speaker 3: up in Massachusetts, and she could practice her Bostonian accent
- 5:21Speaker 3: as she speaks to the world. This woman should never
- 5:25Speaker 3: see the light of day again. And this is a
- 5:29Speaker 3: true story. In Italy, they learned from the Americans, and
- 5:33Speaker 3: the criminals were pulling that criminally insane stuff over there.
- 5:36Speaker 3: Then they changed the law. Unless you have a track
- 5:40Speaker 3: record where you were seeing a shrink, you were on meds,
- 5:45Speaker 3: you were hospitalized. If you go out and whack somebody,
- 5:49Speaker 3: they're not going to take the insanity.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Well, didn't she have a record of that? Wasn't she
- 5:53Speaker 1: under psychiatric care?
- 5:55Speaker 3: No, I'm saying in Italy they're doing that. But, Mark,
- 6:00Speaker 3: you don't... To choke out three kids like that takes time.
- 6:07Speaker 3: And you go from one to the other. Well, what
- 6:10Speaker 3: are you going for? All right.
- 6:12Speaker 1: I agree with you. I agree. That's why I can't
- 6:13Speaker 1: have any sympathy for this woman. Great call.
- 6:16Speaker 3: Go away, Mark.
- 6:18Speaker 1: I agree. Thanks for calling. Hey, when we come back,
- 6:20Speaker 1: the hunt for Steve Moore. I think he'll be here
- 6:23Speaker 1: this time. We'll talk to Steve Moore next on 710 W.O.R.
