It's stupid up. Welcome everybody. Welcome to this week's EDI and this st
0:19
realto Show, episode number seven hundred and five for August seventeen, twenty twenty
0:24
three. Welcome to this week's edition of ass R to You. I am
0:31
one after show. I am Jeff Peck joined every single week front Go soone
0:35
only Dtor Trey Franklin Doctor Trey. Rememberin I said that there was no drama
0:39
going on in a w my friend wait, im my fan room. Collision
0:43
Now, yeah, I think so. I think they may have just sent
0:47
doctor Trey home, and by the end of this episode, they may be
0:49
sending me home. Welcome to this week's edition of sr tu H. It
0:54
was within the last month I felt like that we spoke about see him Punk.
0:59
He seemed rejuvenated. We didn't hear any bad stories. Maybe it leads
1:03
to them feuding with the elite. And then Collision happened on Saturday. Tons
1:11
of cmpunk. Drama and controversy has come off of this past week's edition of
1:17
Collision, and it didn't even air on television. It's what it took place.
1:19
After the camera stop rolling as cmpunk cut a promo after Collision, going
1:26
off the air taking shots at Hangman Page. That wasn't approved by aw nor
1:30
was it a quote work Sampunk took shots at Hangman page for merchandise sales,
1:38
toy sales. It was a very weird line and segment on paragraph that he
1:45
went off on about Hangman Page. I gotta be honest, came out of
1:48
nowhere. Seemed very desperate, and it appears that it opened up the floodgates
1:53
Doctor Trey to a whole bunch of stuff which I spent a good portion of
1:57
the afternoon preparing for this week position the podcast timelining everything. So I'm going
2:02
to get to the floodgates. But the initial, I guess pipe bomb that
2:07
set it all off was Cmpunk's weird after show promo on Hangman Page. It
2:13
just seemed unnecessary. Yeah. The funny thing is so like, you know,
2:16
pull back the card. We're actually recording on Wednesday. Do you know
2:21
where Dynamite is tonight? No? I don't actually Huntsville, Alabama. Wow,
2:28
Doctor Trey Man, you missed out, Bud, I know, I
2:30
know. And then when my buddy's just texted me, he was like,
2:32
Hey, they're about to ring the bell, and I'm like Yeah, they'll
2:35
lake slap on the ring bell, so don't worry about it, You'll hear
2:37
it. But are we really surprised about I mean, hey, I'm not
2:44
really surprised about drama from AW and B really not surprised that it's circling around
2:50
cmpunk, because the amazing thing is is that, you know, you and
2:53
I have been doing this show for a very very long time. We have
2:55
been fans of cmpunk the performer for longer than this show has been on the
3:01
air, and it just seems like that the last decade that just drama kind
3:08
of follows him. And you know, he's arguably the biggest name in AW
3:15
and he's kind of the lightning rod. So if he does something, we're
3:20
gonna hear about it, because I mean, really, before a couple of
3:24
days ago, he had anybody really heard of Nick Nemuth before a couple of
3:28
days ago, Ryan, Ryan that Nick is actually Dolph Siegler. Oh yeah,
3:31
my bad seat that just she goes to show you remember NICKI Nicky.
3:36
Yes, it's only because I also saw him on being the Elite the other
3:38
day, so that was on being the Elite. Yeah, but you know,
3:45
we hear these stories and it's like everything that he does is going to
3:47
come out in the news and whether it's good or a bad and different.
3:50
But the promos he's been cutting over the last two years, some have been
3:54
really really good and some have been kind of weird and awkward, And this
3:58
is kind of falls in that. All Right, we're taking shots to the
4:01
guy that was thinking shots at about merch sale and toy sales and just random
4:10
stuff like, is really anybody in AW killing it in toy sales? Is
4:14
anybody killing it in merch sales? Like it's it's a different animal to be
4:20
in the AW merch bubble than the WW merch bubble. So like it was
4:25
just it was unnecessary and I felt like he did it just to get a
4:29
reaction from the crowd. Yeah. I mean there's definitely more to that,
4:32
and we'll get to that here in the timeline of events. So this off
4:38
air promo about hanging out and page that wasn't approved by AW was not a
4:43
work happened, and then it just felt like anybody that was in AW that
4:47
was withholding information or dirt on cmpun because they just wanted things to be okay
4:54
and just move past what happened from all out decided to like let every outlet
4:58
know what was going on. So I'm going to go through this timeline,
5:00
Doctor Trey. At any point that I go through this, if you want
5:03
to stop and discuss the particular, you know, part of this story here,
5:10
let's get into it. I mean, there are a lot of parts
5:13
here, and this has probably going to dominate most of the podcasts here.
5:16
But it's such a huge story this week that's like mind boggling that it's it's
5:20
it's happening again. This is where SRTU becomes srt U m Z. So
5:26
we're back at it again. So following the promo, I think it was
5:30
like literally the next day, stories come out following that. Ryan Nemth,
5:32
Matt Hardy, and Christopher Daniels have all been sent home from Collision tapings due
5:38
to see Him Punk. At this point, Punk and Nemth had tension due
5:41
to Nema's tweet calling cempunk quote literally the softest man alive during his return promo
5:46
on the first episode of Collision. Punk and Nemath talked it out at the
5:48
Collision taping, but Punk perceived nemothist during the pot in the locker room Nematha
5:54
Punk shook hands, but there were still tension. Nemath is featured on BT
5:58
being the Elite regularly, and Punk confirmed Nemoth was sent home as per his
6:02
call. Heman Page was flown in for Collision to do a pretape interview for
6:06
Wednesday's Dynamite, but when he got there he was told that they would have
6:11
to do it away from the venue and not to go to the show.
6:13
The belief is this was not Punk's call, but management's call after what happened
6:17
to Nemoth Earlier that day, Matt Hardy was sent home due to his relationship
6:23
with the Elite. It was perceived Isaiah Cassidy was a casually of Hardy being
6:27
sent home as well. Punk reportedly said that was not his call. So
6:30
there's really no reason right now why Matt Hardy and Isaiah Cassidy were sent home,
6:36
but Punk is saying that that was not his call or people close to
6:40
Punk. Christopher Daniels was sent home because of his involvement from brawl Out.
6:44
He is the head of talent relations for a W since Ace Steele was also
6:49
involved and not allowed to return backstage. Punk felt the same about Christopher Daniels.
6:54
Punk reportedly said that Daniels being removed was his call. Tonykh is still
7:00
a big fan of seampunk and sees him as an integral part of the company's
7:02
business strategy. There was a report that after Punk walked through the Current after
7:06
his Collision return promo, Cohn was standing up chanting sampunk in Guerrilla kind of
7:13
Weird. It was reported that Punk's post Collision promo on Adam Page did not
7:19
come across how he would have liked and felt bad afterwards. Punk reportedly personally
7:24
apologized to Page by text message and took shots so that there is a possibility
7:30
to feud with the elite in the future, so he took shots during that
7:32
return promo to open up the door to feud with them. Punk shots at
7:35
Page reportedly quote an attempt to do a comedy line that backfired. Fightful Select
7:41
report that Punk recently gotten into an argument with jungle Boy Jack Perry as well.
7:46
Per the report, Punk took issue with a spot that Perry planned on
7:47
performing during an early episode of Collision, which took place during Aw's tour of
7:51
Canada. Apparently, Perry wanted to use real glass and a backstage segment and
7:56
Punk immediately pushed back against the idea as it was a safety hazard. The
8:00
article also states that Tony Schivanni and others objected to Perry using glass. The
8:03
exchange led to an argument between Punk and Perry, with the latter reportedly upset
8:07
about his plans being knicks. Afterward, the company reportedly initiated guidelines to ensure
8:11
that no performer used real glass without receiving permission from the office beforehand, which
8:15
is a story that we heard about like four or five weeks ago. Now
8:16
we know why. Furthermore, Punk reportedly told Perry that Collision doesn't have segments
8:22
of that ilk and invites him to stay on aw Dynamite if you had a
8:26
problem with it. Well. Many people in the locker room describe the situation
8:28
as an argument between the pair. Punk side claimed that Perry threw a tantrum.
8:31
All in all, though most people agreed with Punk, as Perry's planned
8:35
glass segment was objected to buy doctors and others. The belief backstage at Aws
8:41
that this entire situation needs to be nipped in the bud right now, or
8:43
it's going to be a giant, terrible explosion. As per Dave Meltzer,
8:48
So why is aw doing this. They are doing everything they can to keep
8:52
him happy, Dave Meltzer said, and then Russell observe a radio show because
8:56
quote, when you are a draw in this business and they feel he is
8:58
in dispensable, we're close to indispensable. They allow him to do this because
9:03
they are trying to launch this show Collision on Saturday, and the feeling is
9:07
obviously that having him is more important than having a situation where the head of
9:09
talent relations can go to a show. Christopher Daniels obviously was again reportedly told
9:15
to leave the lead's Collision taping at Punk's requests. More quotes, They feel
9:18
that it's more important to keep seeing Punk happy because of the attempt to launch
9:22
on Saturday. The top draws will always have that power. And it's a
9:24
unique situation because of the feeling that they're trying to get this big giant television
9:28
deal and the Saturday shows are very, very important. They COLLETI believe that
9:31
he needs to be on Saturday's show or there's a great chance that the show
9:35
will do lower numbers, and in the long run, those lower numbers will
9:37
mean less money when they do the new TV contract nual, the expense of
9:41
the locker room and everything else, So that's the basic situation end quote.
9:45
Meanwhile, Meltzer suggests that something else happened between Punk and Ryan Nemoth, who
9:50
was also reportedly removed from Saturday's collision, as we discussed earlier, outside of
9:54
their alleged backstage confrontation in June Didially, Meltzer said that Punk has the power
9:58
although it's not written to kick people out of events, and then awco Tony
10:03
Kahn gave him that ability. Lastly, Fightful Select reports that Steel A Steel
10:07
recently met with AW president Tony Kann about returning to wrestling in some capacity.
10:11
Steel is still employed with a DOOT but isn't permitted to attend shows due to
10:15
being an insurance risk. Steel's reportedly back in AW but is not on the
10:18
road and is allowed to seek work elsewhere as his contract with AWS up in
10:22
twenty twenty four. The report mentions, but doesn't outright confirm, that Steele
10:28
may have received back pay for the time he was out following the altercation.
10:31
Steele's role is reportedly focused primarily on suggestions for creative regarding CM Punk Doctor Trey.
10:39
That is, everything I think I could capture from the CMFT drama that
10:43
took place over the last four or five days in aw your thoughts. So,
10:50
so, you know, do you remember the from a couple of years
10:54
ago when we had the discussion about you know, the EVPs or ny I
11:00
was kind of stripping some powers away from the EVP and you know, the
11:03
buck stops with me and I make all the decisions. And we heard that,
11:07
we heard that. It doesn't feel like that's the case anymore. It
11:11
feels like Tony's running Collision. I mean, Tony's running Dynamite and Punk is
11:18
running Collision like they've it feels like I would say, is running Dynamite.
11:22
Well, but and the rest of the roster. Yeah, but the booking
11:26
decisions are from Tony Kahn. That was what it was. That's what was
11:31
said by melting the past. And now you look at Collision the booking powers
11:35
with them Punk. If he doesn't want somebody on that show, he's gonna
11:39
send them home. And it now sending Ryan Nemath home because you don't really
11:46
get along with them that well, not a huge blow like Ryan's Ryan's a
11:48
good wrestler, but he's not you know, top of the pecking order,
11:52
so to speak. But when you said to Matt Hardy at home, that's
11:56
going to get some attention. Now it may have been its called, it
12:00
may not have been his call, you know, sending home the head of
12:03
talent relations, Well, like, does that mean just to clarify there,
12:07
because it does get lost in the shuffle of everything that I just went through.
12:09
Punk is saying that he did not send Matt Hardy home. Yes,
12:13
that's why. That's why I say whether he did or not, you know,
12:16
because Matt Hardy still very popular among fans. I would say to defend
12:20
Punk. I mean Punk, If if him or close to him is saying
12:24
like, this is who he sent home, this is who he didn't send
12:26
home. If he's owning some of those, I don't think we can say
12:31
personally speaking that it may he may or may not have sent Matt Hardy home,
12:35
you know what I mean. So we'll take Matt Hardy out of the
12:37
equation, you know. But but still to send Now, once again,
12:41
I know Chris Rodaniels was the head of talent Relations, but then I think
12:46
Chiovanni's the assistant head or co head. I'm not really dynamic, but they're
12:50
both in talent relations. Yeah, but to send the perceives head of talent
12:56
relations home from an aid you show is a ballsy and b shows that punk
13:05
has more stroke than management. Like that is crazy to me. So I'm
13:11
like that blew me away now arguing a jungle with Jack Perry not surprising.
13:18
Two different trains of thought, two different schools of thought, and you know,
13:22
the veterans, the doctors, Chiovanni, every else goes, yeah,
13:24
we don't want to use real glass here. Do you not remember, like
13:26
I was gonna say, do you remember having to Bill Goldberg smashing in a
13:30
car window? But then again, I don't know Jack Perry was alive when
13:33
Goldberg smashed in the car window and seven and Artery in his arm, I
13:37
don't think. Yeah, so that's just like a long standing rule for the
13:43
last like twenty five years. And hell, he might have been in the
13:46
womb or he was he was he was born in ninety seven, Jack Perry,
13:50
Yeah, so he's like a year old when that happened. But that's
13:54
why we really haven't done that in the last twenty some odd years. So
13:58
I could understand and there being a battle, and honestly, I can totally
14:03
see Jack Perry three at temperate tantrum, Like that's not shocking to me,
14:05
but it does. It does feel odd that some of this stuff happened in
14:11
June. Some of this stuff happened, you know, before the promo.
14:16
It didn't come out, but it kind of feels like, you know,
14:20
Punk did something, Oh I gotta go tattle on him. It feels like,
14:24
you know, it's it's one of those things where like, oh,
14:26
I'm mad at him. I need to go tattle on him for all this
14:28
little stuff he did. So, I mean some of the stuff I understand,
14:33
some of why I don't understand, but you know, the like like
14:39
he were saying earlier about like Punk has that authority because he's a top draw.
14:43
We used it a story last week on Roman Reigns has say so over
14:46
who beats him for a belt, Like, if you're a draw, you
14:52
get special privileges. And it's been that way throughout the history of wrestling,
14:56
whether it's you know, Brett Hart not wanted to drop the the title of
15:00
Shawn Michaels in Canada and try to drop at the Shamrock or Undertaker, whether
15:05
it's Hogan pushing people down player pushing people down. Bruno like, if you're
15:09
the top guy, you do get these special treatments. And that's just the
15:13
way society is. I mean, we've all worked for companies where the best
15:16
sales guys make the most money and get the most leeway, and the guys
15:22
who aren't as good are micromanaged. I mean that's the nature of business as
15:26
a whole that gets so to speak. I think to me, the biggest
15:28
thing is is this is obviously bubbled back up again again. I mean I'll
15:33
reiterate like, we've heard nothing we talked about on this podcast. We've heard
15:37
nothing since Punk return. It seemed like all was well in aw If this
15:41
crew was doing their thing on Saturday and this crew is doing their things on
15:43
Wednesday and it's equally harmony and good creative content that's being portrayed on the shows
15:50
on Wednesday and Saturday and carries over to the pay per view, then we
15:54
as Rustling fans are here for it. But the promo happens, all these
15:58
stories start coming out and it does not paint seampunk in a good light.
16:04
It also does not paint Tony Khan in a good light. There's a perception
16:10
let's just say it right. There's a perception that Tony Khan can be very
16:14
markish at times, comes off as as a mark and there's the story that
16:18
he was chanting for punk. Whether it's true or not is here nor there.
16:22
But I mean he has basically allowed Seampunk to, you know, dictate
16:27
what the company is doing to a degree, and I don't I don't know
16:34
if that's the right decision. There have been times in wrestling where performers have
16:41
been allowed to do things that have gone beyond what most are allowed to do.
16:48
And I immediately think of the stories that you hear about with the Click
16:52
and Sean Michaels and Jitzickmann from you know, ninety five to ninety seven ninety
16:57
eight, that like they were in his ear and they had a real powerful
17:02
voice in the behind the scenes area where people weren't getting pushed, people weren't
17:07
getting opportunities in the main event. And it's reminiscent of that, and that
17:11
was a very vulnerable time for WWE. As business got better and they had
17:18
Steve Aust and the Rock and the Attitude era, you never heard of these
17:22
stories ever. Again, there's always been stories about Triple H holding people down.
17:26
There's been stories about John Cena holding people down. Never really anything about
17:30
Roman reigns, but it's you know, we hear it from time to time,
17:34
but never to this degree. I think that is the big part of
17:38
the story is that in aw's own internal eyes and Tony Kahn's eyes at his
17:45
company year number four, it'll be four years of dynamite in eight weeks from
17:51
now, less than eight weeks from now, that they are vulnerable. They
17:53
are a vulnerable company. They're heading into a show that will have a gate
17:59
of probably over eighty thousand people, which is a huge accomplimentshion for them.
18:02
I don't know why they feel like they're vulnerable, but they feel like since
18:06
this brawl out situation has happened, that they need sempunk on the roster,
18:11
that they need cmpunk representing AW. I don't know nor think cempunk has a
18:18
backup plan if AW doesn't work out. I don't know if WW would welcome
18:22
and back with open arms. You know, we heard the story a couple
18:26
of months ago that he went to WWE's raw in Chicago and said hi to
18:30
some people and made amend's specifically the folks like them is believe that he had
18:34
a conversation with Triple H. What that entailed, what we won't know,
18:40
But I mean that to me is the biggest thing of this all, Doctor
18:42
Tree, is that internally Awver views themselves as vulnerable. Tony Kahn, as
18:48
the leader, views himself as vulnerable based on the decisions that he's allowing to
18:52
happen from one talent. Internally in aw it's upsetting part of the roster and
19:00
this will not create a good working environment again. And it's just like one
19:04
of the things that I read, it's a powder keg and if it's not
19:07
nipped in the bud, and I don't know how you nip it in the
19:10
bud. At this point, it's going to be one big explosion. And
19:14
I know there's a lot of negativity towards see him Punk right now, but
19:17
I think that something that should not be lost in this all is that Punk
19:19
wants to work with the elite. He wants to put this behind them.
19:23
He wants to put this as a money maker and that would in turn make
19:27
aw better and a creative program that people are going to tune into it because
19:36
controversy creates cash. Is it that bad that the elite's like, no,
19:40
fuck this guy, we don't want to work with him. It's it's a
19:42
slew of different ranges of an emotions here, doctor Try. I mean,
19:45
this is again opening up old wounds, and it's very very strange that this
19:52
amount of stuff is taking place in aw right now. So you know a
19:56
couple of things you know you mentioned earlier. Tony kN comes off as markish
20:00
and you can look at the four years of this company and see that,
20:04
like he has a shiny new toy fetish and it's year one the elite and
20:11
Cody whatever they say is what we do. Year two you get Jericho and
20:17
Moxley. And guess what Jericho and Moxley were everywhere last year. It was
20:22
you know when Brian Danielson came over and Adam Cole, they were there everywhere.
20:25
And then now it's to see him punks show. It's like he does
20:29
kind of get behind whatever. Like I said, a shiny new toy he
20:32
gets and I'm sure like if you know, I don't know, I'm trying
20:36
to throw a name at the wall from w B High End. Like let's
20:38
say seth Rawlins came available and somehow Tony gone made him offer he couldn't refuse.
20:44
Guess what it'd be the seth Rawlins show. It's the new show.
20:48
It's a new toy mentality, like I'm gonna play with this until I get
20:52
bored with it, move on the next thing. The problem that happens is,
20:56
for one, the direction of the company constantly changes, so you don't
21:00
create any stability because year one, you know you and I say, here,
21:03
it's like the Super Indie Show. And year two it was kind of
21:07
like, oh, look at all these x WWE guys coming in, whether
21:10
it's Andrada or Miro or Alis or Black or whoever it was. And then
21:14
year three it's like, oh my god, the technical wrestling show. Like
21:17
this, the wrestling is really really great. And then now it's kind of
21:21
like, okay, well we have one show that's super Indie Show, and
21:23
then we have other one that's kind of the more traditional show. Like you
21:29
kind of almost know don't know what you're getting from one show to the next,
21:33
like there's no consistency, and maybe that's by design. Maybe back at
21:36
they're looking back at the old days of ww and some people loved raw for
21:40
the storylines and all that stuff. People love smacked down for the work rate,
21:44
but it just kind of creates instability everywhere. And I think now the
21:48
wrestlers are really starting to where Tony Kant's been their buddy, their pal,
21:53
until hey, they show a new toy doesn't like me. Now I'm not
21:57
on shows, now, I'm not working events. Now I'm just kind of
22:00
stagging it, bouncing around. And that's why you starting to hear these little
22:06
rumors about people losing faith in Tony Khn as well. And I don't know
22:10
if vulnerable is the right word, but it does kind of feel like they're
22:14
on I don't want to say fit, but like they're on a teeter totter,
22:18
like if you're selling out Wembley saing or you putting eighty thousand people in
22:22
Wembley stating you're not vulnerable to like a takeover or something, but you could
22:26
lose the locker room, or you could lose half the locker room, or
22:30
maybe you already have, Like how can you play both sides of the coin
22:34
and you go back to brawl out And when everything first happened, that's one
22:38
of things I said, like how can you sit there and here Sam Punk
22:41
say these things about the elite and not stop him, not shut him up,
22:48
but just nod your head like you're in agreement. Then when something happens
22:52
you take the other sides point of view. It's like you're you're just trying
22:56
to play both sides of the card. And that's not strong leadership. That's
23:00
you know, non confrontational, passive friend buddy, that's hanging out with you,
23:06
just trying to be part of the it crowds, so to speak.
23:10
Now, we obviously don't know the full story, and it's always possible with
23:14
these types of reports that this is loosely based and there may be some irregular,
23:19
irregulartees that did not actually take place. I mean, I think we'd
23:22
have to say that and say that this is not gospel concrete, this is
23:27
how it all worked out unless things are confirmed which punk or as people have
23:33
done and what have you. But there may be some things with that said.
23:37
You know, the elite just resigned with the company for like three,
23:41
four or five years whatever it is. It's a long term contract extension.
23:45
This is all going on. Why in the hell would you want to work
23:52
for this company? I mean, this is wild because Tony Khan is siding
23:57
with punk and letting him do whatever he wants. According to these reports and
24:00
the belief of what we're seeing, why would you want to work with somebody
24:04
work for somebody like that, and who is siding with someone that started a
24:11
fight with you publicly and privately that was basically done out in the public,
24:15
even though they're not allowed to talk about anything, like, how would you
24:19
why would you want to stay in this atmosphere? I don't. I don't
24:22
get this, Like this is so bizarre to me that people want to work
24:26
at this company with this ship going on. So think of everybody who's resigned
24:34
recently, and the number one thing they say is the schedule. If I
24:41
don't have to work as hard and I can make almost as much money not
24:45
working as hard as the guy that works for the company across the streets,
24:51
yeah I'll stay here. It's work smarter, not harder. You know.
24:55
It's like, yeah, am I going to get all the money that you
24:59
know Cody getting or somebody else getting. No? But do I have to
25:03
be on the road two hundred and eighty five days a year. No?
25:06
I only got to show up twice a week. And maybe if I want
25:08
to go work a house show, maybe I worked and the roster split in
25:12
half, and it's a pretty solid split. Like so, really, I'm
25:17
only working one day on TV and then if I want to go to a
25:19
house show, and I'm making still making life changing money, and I'm referencing
25:26
the middle of the card enough, you know, the bottom of the card.
25:29
Guys are just there to get exposure and try to get noticed and try
25:30
to get over, you know. But look, you and I have all
25:36
we've all been in companies we've worked for where we're like, man, upper
25:37
management's dumb. But hey, I'm making a pretty good paycheck right now and
25:42
I'm not working that hard, So yeah, you know, and and I
25:48
did in my business. I worked for one company. I was working my
25:52
tail off, killing myself, and the other company across the town reached out
25:57
offered me more money and I don't have to work as hard. Well yeah,
26:02
and I even I actually had this conversation with my boss today and I
26:06
told him they're me and the manager in the Huntle area have had the same
26:11
conversation that we worked way less hard here than we did our previous jobs,
26:15
so we almost feel like we're cheating the company. At times. He's kind
26:21
of laughed, and I'm like, no, I'm serious, Like I feel
26:22
weird that I'm not doing enough, but then my numbers say I'm doing good.
26:26
And that's kind of how it is with the wrestling. It's like,
26:29
hey, if we're putting up decent numbers in the ratings and people are talking
26:33
about us, and we don't have to work as hard and I'm still making
26:37
life changing money, Like unless I'm just a WWE mark and I want and
26:42
I want the Cody thing where I want to get a shot at being the
26:45
WWE champion, why would I leave. I'm making really really good money and
26:51
I only have to work and if I want to go it do indie shows
26:53
or do signings. They have no problem with that, like, yeah,
26:57
why would I leave? Its It's easier there and you don't have the authoritative
27:03
voice raining down on you about Nope, we don't like that gimmick. We're
27:06
not doing that. You know. It's oh, oh, if you want
27:08
to try it, go ahead. Like it's just like the commune vibe almost,
27:14
you know, it's like hit like Woodstock. It's like Woodstock in sixty
27:18
nine over there in aw at times, So it's a little bit like why
27:21
would I leave if I don't have to try hard? All right, So
27:23
let's wrap this up here because we're almost coming thirty minutes. I'm talking about
27:26
this and started thing. But it's so wild that this has been going on.
27:30
So the big part of that story is like this needs to be nipped
27:33
in the bud or it's going to be a terrible, big explosion or giant
27:37
terrible explosion, I think Meltzer said. So, how do they nip this
27:42
in the butt? If if they're not talking to one another, they're not
27:45
making money on television, if they're not burying the hatchet behind the scenes,
27:49
how is this ever going to stop? It would have to mean that somebody
27:53
would have to leave the company, So I mean that's one option. The
27:59
other option, doctor right to me is get everybody in the room. Let's
28:02
end this shit. Okay, no no coming and blows for the good of
28:07
this freaking company. Let's get everybody together and bury it. Even if we
28:11
walk out and still hate each other and we don't want to work with one
28:15
another, Let's end this shit. Elite, do you want to see AW
28:19
grow and be successful? Yes? See them punk? Do you want to
28:22
see AW grow and be successful? Yes, all right, meet in the
28:26
middle, shake hands, move the fuck on, because this crap brings the
28:33
company down. The company has been so good creatively lately. I'm excited for
28:37
all In. I'm excited for all Out. I know there's bitch in complaining
28:41
about the creative for all In right now and how they're not announcing matches or
28:47
what have you, But nonetheless, the company has been doing great. Doctor
28:51
Trey, what is your suggestion to put this shit in the back burner so
28:56
that aw can move forward? Because this is wild that this ship happening.
29:00
Yeah, like it's it's it's funny because I kind of feel like I had
29:03
this conversation with all my friends a day. I'm like, he's got kids.
29:07
I have kids, and I was like referencing to you're referring to our
29:10
kids to or compare our kids to the people on our team, And I'm
29:12
like, if you let let the child do something once, you can't then
29:19
come back the second time ago, No, you can't do it, Well,
29:22
you already let me do it once, Like you can't take you can't
29:25
put the genie back in the bottle. And that's almost where we're at,
29:27
Like the biggest difference with these two companies and the last forty years of WWE,
29:37
there's always been a father figure, whether it's Vince or Tripolation. Now
29:41
you don't want to let Dad down, you go out of your way.
29:45
Tony Kahn's not a father figure. He's your buddy, your pal, your
29:49
brother. You know, anybody the sibling knows it. We've all disappointed and
29:53
pissed off our siblings at some point. But you know, you don't want
29:56
to make Dad angry. You don't want to make Dad mad, You don't
29:59
want you don't want Dad giving that. I'm not mad, I'm disappointed talk
30:03
And that's where we're at right now with this. You know, it's there's
30:07
no buddy taking control. And my friend I was talking to about his team,
30:11
team was kind of rebelling against him because they're in two different areas,
30:15
and I literally suggested, like, you need to go to them, show
30:18
them that in order for this to work, we have to work together.
30:23
Nobody believes we can do it. Let's prove them wrong. And I feel
30:27
like AW has to take that step, like you say, get them all
30:30
in a room, hash it out, create that US against the world mentality,
30:36
and then figure out a way to work together. Like in the history
30:40
of wrestling, there have been a lot of feuds that made money when the
30:44
guys hated each other. It's like, this is kind of wrestling when I
30:48
wanted, but for the sake of the sport, for the sake of the
30:51
company, you put your egos aside and you do the business. We just
30:53
saw with Riddle and Seth Rollins not too long ago. Those guys don't like
30:56
each other, but they did a nice little I have a read a couple
31:00
of pay per view matches and it did decent business. Rollins and Rhads Cody
31:03
have admitted that they have like they don't tend to like each other, but
31:07
it's a healthy competition because they want to both be the best they minute and
31:11
they respect one another. It's just just while that we're in a generation where
31:17
it's like bygones can't be bygones. And from the stuff I'm reading, it
31:21
appears Punk does want to again cannot be lost, and they said he does
31:26
want to move forward, he wants to make money, he wants to put
31:29
himself into an angle with these guys, and it just seems like the elite
31:32
want nothing to do with it. And I don't think they're being leaders.
31:34
If that's the case in all and across the board, Tony Kahn is not
31:38
being a leader, Punk's not being a leader. Members of the elite are
31:41
not being leaders for this company, and those are the people that should be
31:45
because you know, when all this drama is going on, it's affecting everybody
31:49
and it's making a do you look really really bad in the press over the
31:52
last couple of days. So it's it's mind boggling to me unless something riveting
31:56
happenings on Dynamite Because as Doctor Trey and I are recording this, Dynamites going
32:00
on that turns this into a work. Yeah, they're shooting for no reason
32:07
and it's just just stupid to me. It's bizarre. But here we are
32:10
going Doctor Trey CMFT drama I like to call it here on this week's edition
32:15
of SRTU switching gears to things that are drama, but it's actually stuff that
32:22
writers have written. We'll go to WI here. Jay usso closed out smacked
32:25
down this past week, Super Kicking Roman reigns Super Kicking Solo Sukoa looking like
32:30
he was going to re embrace with his brother Jimmy, who explained why he
32:34
did it. He did not want his brother to end up like Roman Reigns.
32:37
That's why he costs him the match. Jay super kicks him, says
32:39
I'm out of the Bloodline, I'm out of SmackDown, and I'm out of
32:44
w WE, and says deuces. So this is the next layer, this
32:46
next chapter of this storyline, Doctor Trey and the fans again, I've been
32:50
saying it. He is one of the most captivating wrestlers and all professional wrestling
32:53
today. That is Jausso thoughts on how that angle played out following Summer's landing
32:58
with Jausso in the Bloodline. Really well done hasn't been done? I mean
33:05
the walking out of the company. I'm done with this place. That's been
33:08
done before. The layers of it's a little bit different, and these storylines
33:13
are great because what that does is the absence makes the heart grow fonder.
33:16
We've always talked about the biggest poss we hear when guys come back. You
33:21
want to elevate Jay Husso to being a main event guy, like a legitimate
33:24
main event guy. This is that extra layer you can put on it.
33:29
So, like, really well done. I think the last time we really
33:32
had the walkout was yeah, yeah, and when he came back, huge
33:38
reaction. I think they tried it with Ziggler at one point when he was
33:42
doing the no music thing and stuff like that, but it didn't really the
33:45
audience thing capture onto it because he wasn't viewed in that light. But I
33:50
mean, you can go back to even when they lose, re leaves,
33:52
town matches, things like that. It's all a design to help get the
33:54
baby faces over more. And this is a perfect angle because uh, you
34:00
got the family drama, the brother drama, the whole nine yards. It's
34:04
it's really it was a really really good course to take when we thought,
34:08
hey, like where are they going to go with us next? I didn't
34:13
see that walk out coming, so good job by the writers to give me
34:16
something that I can sing my teeth and do because was unexpecting. Yeah,
34:20
I mean the layer to this is I did not expect Jimmy USO not to
34:23
side with the bloodline. That was another layer to it that I really enjoyed.
34:28
The walkout was not expected far to Jimmy yusso it was reunited with the
34:31
bloodline. It was the complete one eighty From that, his explanation made sense
34:37
Obviously it's not easy to cause your brother the Universal Championship in the process as
34:42
well. So overall it's just very well executed, very well done, and
34:46
where this goes from here leaves me wanting to watch SmackDown on Friday, which
34:50
is the most important thing. It's like that close out angle is it leaving
34:53
you to wanting to see what the product is going to do next? And
34:57
it is great stuff all around. Continued from the outline jus So, Jimmy
35:00
Uso, Roman Rain Siloskoa, and of course Paul Hayman. Carrying over to
35:06
Monday Nights, Doctor Trey, it was looking like it was gonna be Cody
35:08
Rhodes to vie for the World Heavyweight Championship next, but it appears to WW
35:13
is setting up Shinsk Nakamura to take on Seth Freaking Rollins. We talked about
35:16
a little bit on last week's podcast. Is Shinsk the right opponent to be
35:22
Seth Freaking rollins next challenger for the World Heavyweight Championship. It's debatable, it's
35:29
arguable, Like for me, I'm fine with it because if you're trying to
35:34
establish the credibility of the World Heavyweight Championship, I still go back to what
35:37
I said before the last PLI and you convinced me to change my pick.
35:44
You gotta get a little bit of time on the championship. You can't hot
35:49
potato a brand new title around, because then the fans are going, is
35:52
this like the twenty four seven title? We're gonna get like four champions in
35:55
three months? Because at one point you and I talked on the show it
35:59
go from a Seth rolls the finn Bella to Damian Priest really really quick.
36:02
Then you would have three world champions in two days on a brand new title
36:07
belt. So to take somebody like Shinske, who has credibility, who the
36:10
fans, the diehard fans love Shinsk's last heel run I really enjoyed as well.
36:17
This is a guy that can jump on both sides of fence. Matchup
36:21
with Seth is eccentric like Seth, So to me, it's a good choice
36:27
if you're trying to establish a little bit longer run for Seth. Plus,
36:31
Seth hasn't been babyfaced that long, and if you throw him in there with
36:36
a Cody, it splits the crowd and you don't get that build up to
36:40
it. To me, is it's a good way to keep Cody out of
36:44
the world title picture for a little bit longer until they go back to that
36:46
route. So I'm fine with it. Shinzk is an excellent worker. And
36:52
look, people on here and the other chatboard are not you know, chats
36:57
social media. We've all bitshed about shinsk not being in the picture for a
37:00
long time. Shinz case back in the picture now, So kudos to Hunter
37:06
whoever was that elevated back up and you're starting to see that come to your
37:09
fruition with his NXT favorites, you know, jumping more into the limelight on
37:15
the main roster, slowly but surely. Yeah, you took my next point
37:17
I was gonna ask you, is it's very telling that where coming out of
37:21
one feud that was Finn Valor, now the next feud is gonna be Shinska
37:23
Nakamora. It certainly feels like Triple H is sending a message, and it's
37:27
a message I can get behind because that NX are with those guys was phenomenal
37:31
and I love seeing these Triple HS guys getting an opportunity like Finn and shin
37:36
because they deserve it. They were not booked well since the call up from
37:38
NXT, and here they are now shining and it's made for a very,
37:42
very fun product. So I'm excited for Shinska Kaka More to get this opportunity
37:45
again. Yeah. And then even if you look at SmackDown, the stuff
37:49
with EO Bailey Osca, you know all of that stuff, those are all
37:52
Triple H people as well. In the women's division, you look at like
37:55
some of the others, like, you know, we could get a Cody
38:00
Ripley, Yeah, and then we can get Cody, Sammy and Kevin against
38:04
Judgment Day. That's mostly Triple H people. So it's kind of like watching
38:08
that elevation kind of comforted. We're seeing Choppa back on TV, Bronson reads
38:14
on TV. Ricochet's getting a lot of TV time, you know, we're
38:16
seeing some of the NXT guys like Carmelo Haze, these other guys, bring
38:21
back Gargano, let's go yeah, well yeah, and bring back Tag Team
38:24
Wrestling full time in WW. So it's tough. It's tough when both when
38:29
the champions are legitimately hurt, right now, that's the unfortunate part. Well,
38:32
we got Drew and Riddle beating the Viking Raiders, which I wasn't really
38:37
a fan of, but anyway, they love those makeshift makeshift tag teams.
38:39
We'll have to see where they go with the new day on this upcoming edition
38:43
of Monday Night Raw real quick here doctor for the close up shop here talking
38:46
about people that are getting a opportunity to JD mcdonne's now being shown in this
38:51
Judgment day feud yr and a on that. I'm a ya on it because
38:57
JD mcdonn is a fantastic wrestler. Most people who know who he is or
39:01
know who Finn is know that there's a tie into that because they've actually talked
39:06
about it on NXT back in the day when he wasn't j D mcdonna.
39:10
So and then it creates a little bit more tension because now you feel like
39:15
it's the Dominic and Damian against the Irish guys a little bit. So it
39:21
curates that friction as well. Maybe a little too much JD on Monday Night,
39:27
but overall I think it's good for the storyline. Yeah, yeah,
39:30
I agree. It's nice to see him to get some shine. I am
39:32
a fan of JD mcdonna at school seeing him because it makes sense for if
39:37
you know the history to add him into the judgment day stuff. So there
39:42
you go. Lots of discuss here, CMFT drama leading the way, some
39:45
great stuff going on creatively in w E on Ron SmackDown, and again just
39:51
full full on here with all the ship with AW we discussed for most of
39:53
the show. Aw's been doing great, and I'm excited for them to go
39:58
into All In and you know, hopefully hopefully kill it here I mean,
40:02
is that is that next week? Now all In? We get ready for
40:07
All In next week? Next week's pretty sure? We do preview like we
40:10
do preview and prediction next week. Yeah, wow, Okay, I'm hope.
40:15
I'm hoping we get a few more matches in now because I don't want
40:16
to go into a preview prediction show with like five matches. Yeah no,
40:20
that would be bad. So because we know that show's gonna go five hours,
40:22
so we need to No, I'm I'm with you. They need to
40:27
have some more matches and the card is looking a little lackluster right now.
40:30
Not try to say, I mean paper a couple of things even now.
40:37
So I mean you're getting Adam calling MJF. That's a fantastic matchup. You're
40:39
getting the bucks in FTR. That's fantastic. Maybe see him punk and uh
40:45
samo Joe. Yeah. By the way, I think if if Samoa Joe
40:50
loses, he'll be that's new challenger, because that's the progression you get from
40:53
Finn to Shinsk to Joe. Ok. Yeah, next thing you actually Shinsk,
40:58
Finn and Joe. So he switched the order a little bit. But
41:00
once again, Uh, Samojoe starring on a show on the Peacock Network,
41:06
which you know that's where the WB network is as well. I didn't realize.
41:10
Speaking of samo Joe, I heard the other day on Collision. I
41:14
was watching Collision on DVR and Ian Ricabani said that Samojoe was approaching five hundred
41:21
days and as TV Champian like that, man, that can't be right.
41:22
He just joined the company. He's been an aw for fifteen months. Yeah,
41:28
April twenty twenty two. Yeah, completely lost that. And then once
41:32
again it's Samoa Joe. So he was hurt for eight of those fifteen months.
41:37
I thought he's been healthy, he's been hurt well for a while.
41:40
He wasn't. Then it was like he came in worked hurt, came back
41:45
TV title, didn't see him on TV for a while, and then back
41:50
in when c Hi punk goes back around back into the limelights. Though,
41:52
No, no, he might not have been hurt that much. I just
41:54
I think he's doing the thing. Yeah, and for most people, that's
41:59
not seeing it at all. Yeah, that's not seeing I'm not paying on
42:01
our club for nine to ninety nine month to watch four episodes of their show.
42:06
All right, Well, that said, let's get a couple plugs and
