Investigators on the Sandra Birchmore case say messages show William Farwell meeting Sandra outside her building after midnight on January 10, 2021. That was about three weeks before she died. They say he had told State Police he last saw her in December 2020.

On October 26, 2026, William testified for the government at the federal trial of his twin brother Matthew. Because he was granted immunity, prosecutors can't use his answers to charge him.
