- 0:00Speaker 1: Tampa Bay's best music is Magic, 94.9.
- 0:04Speaker 2: And welcome to a new episode of Scotty and Abby Unfiltered.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Made it, survived back from a long weekend in Key West.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Lord have mercy.
- 0:12Speaker 1: How are you feeling?
- 0:13Speaker 2: I feel so blessed and grateful, but there are so
- 0:15Speaker 2: many good, ugly, and horrible situations that happened all throughout
- 0:19Speaker 2: four days of being in Key West. Like, I had
- 0:21Speaker 2: some of the best of times, and also, I think
- 0:24Speaker 2: it's because I'm just so hard on myself that I
- 0:26Speaker 2: looked at this situation and I was like, Well that
- 0:28Speaker 2: was piss poor planning. Like that didn't go the way
- 0:31Speaker 2: I envisioned it but I will share those stories as
- 0:34Speaker 2: they come with it but I'm happy to have said
- 0:36Speaker 2: I've survived. There's a lot of good memories as well.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Before we dive into that I also want to dive
- 0:41Speaker 2: into something with you Abby based off of we only
- 0:44Speaker 2: got to like scratch the surface but I know there's
- 0:46Speaker 2: more there.
- 0:47Speaker 3: With the Shane Gillis situation.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Oh my God, yeah. My phone's on fire right now.
- 0:51Speaker 1: That's what it looks like. I feel like I need
- 0:52Speaker 1: a fire extinguisher. I'm like putting out little fires all
- 0:56Speaker 1: over my iPhone. So I made, okay, my view of
- 1:01Speaker 1: social media is I feel like every purpose has to have,
- 1:03Speaker 1: or every post has to have a purpose.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:05Speaker 1: And I posted this response, the Shane Gillis monologue, which
- 1:09Speaker 1: if you haven't seen it, Shane Gillis did a monologue
- 1:11Speaker 1: on SNL saying, Where he, I'm going to call it
- 1:15Speaker 1: a joke because he thinks it's a joke. He had
- 1:17Speaker 1: this joke where he said, have you been to the
- 1:19Speaker 1: gym recently? Women are dressing like whores. And that was
- 1:23Speaker 1: the punchline. And I was getting ready for my solid
- 1:27Speaker 1: core class when I was watching it. And I thought,
- 1:29Speaker 1: it's so dumb. Like I'm wearing like the most common
- 1:32Speaker 1: active wear outfit for women, which is just a sports
- 1:34Speaker 1: bra and spandex. And I'm like, is this what he is?
- 1:38Speaker 1: is this what he thinks a whore outfit is? And
- 1:40Speaker 1: so I posted this video. I actually took two. I
- 1:44Speaker 1: had one that I thought was funnier, but it was
- 1:45Speaker 1: a little bit more risky. Like I didn't want to
- 1:48Speaker 1: get made fun of for it. And it was basically
- 1:50Speaker 1: just me trying to show how unsexy the outfit was
- 1:53Speaker 1: by dancing to it, like with like stripper music. And
- 1:55Speaker 1: I'm like, this could get, and I'll explain why I
- 1:58Speaker 1: felt a little bit trigger shy on that in a second.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 2:01Speaker 1: I was like, this could get like screenshotted. This is
- 2:03Speaker 1: going to get sent to a group chat. Let me
- 2:05Speaker 1: just do something a little bit more like poignant. And
- 2:07Speaker 1: so I posted a video of me and my sports
- 2:09Speaker 1: bra and spandex saying, putting on my big whore outfit
- 2:12Speaker 1: to go with his monologue behind it, obviously. And I
- 2:19Speaker 1: posted it and I don't regret posting it because I
- 2:21Speaker 1: think it's important to comment on pop culture moments when
- 2:23Speaker 1: you're in this field. But. I do wish I had
- 2:27Speaker 1: sat on it a little bit longer and did what
- 2:30Speaker 1: I did this morning and posted the video that I
- 2:33Speaker 1: posted this morning. I wish I would have just waited
- 2:35Speaker 1: and posted that. Why? Because I'm making a dig at
- 2:40Speaker 1: him for not being funny, and I posted something that
- 2:43Speaker 1: wasn't as funny as it could have been.
- 2:45Speaker 3: Oh, got you.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. I think humor should always divide right down
- 2:51Speaker 1: the line, if that makes sense. Like, I like comedy...
- 2:55Speaker 1: Because I think comedy for the most part shouldn't take sides.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Like I love political humor because I feel like both
- 3:02Speaker 1: people can laugh at it. I like gender based humor
- 3:06Speaker 1: because I think both people can laugh at it. Like
- 3:08Speaker 1: that to me is what makes something funny is when
- 3:10Speaker 1: it unifies people. And I think I posted something that
- 3:14Speaker 1: was funny for one side and not the other, which
- 3:17Speaker 1: maybe was done intentionally to like get more, maybe like
- 3:20Speaker 1: subconsciously intentionally to get me. like a controversy, but the
- 3:23Speaker 1: problem is I think it ended up on one side
- 3:24Speaker 1: and not the other. And so I'm just currently like
- 3:27Speaker 1: getting influxed with a lot of, um, incel commentary.
- 3:33Speaker 3: Gotcha.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Because as you mentioned it this morning, I didn't like,
- 3:36Speaker 2: I literally walked away and I was like, dang, I
- 3:38Speaker 2: think that's actually, I haven't looked.
- 3:39Speaker 3: At the comments. Yeah.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Don't look at the comments.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Well, okay.
- 3:43Speaker 2: So like, cause I know that's, you've mentioned before, you
- 3:46Speaker 2: don't like looking at reviews or comments because a lot
- 3:48Speaker 2: of it, it, Even if you don't know someone or
- 3:51Speaker 2: if it's a stranger, there are things people say that
- 3:53Speaker 2: it still affects us.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Well, it's just not healthy to ingest it because your
- 3:58Speaker 1: brain doesn't know what's real and what's not. And so
- 4:00Speaker 1: that's why when you go into therapy, your therapist will
- 4:03Speaker 1: say you need to do affirmations and you're going to
- 4:04Speaker 1: think that's stupid. But think about it. Even if you
- 4:07Speaker 1: read something that some incel in Idaho comments, you're still
- 4:10Speaker 1: going to be like, your brain still ingests it as
- 4:12Speaker 1: something that's real. So even though your frontal lobe is
- 4:14Speaker 1: going to some incel in Idaho, your brain is still
- 4:17Speaker 1: taking that in. And that's not healthy. Which is why
- 4:20Speaker 1: you also need to do affirmations, even when it feels dumb.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Your brain doesn't know what's real and what's not. So
- 4:24Speaker 1: if you're calling yourself beautiful and funny, your brain is
- 4:27Speaker 1: going to ingest that.
- 4:28Speaker 3: Oh, I agree.
- 4:29Speaker 2: But I noticed as you mentioned that, I was like, oh, well,
- 4:31Speaker 2: there's something deeper there. Because now you're seeing that post
- 4:33Speaker 2: get traction from people that, of course, they should be irrelevant.
- 4:36Speaker 3: But it's very real to say that they're relevant in
- 4:38Speaker 3: this moment.
- 4:39Speaker 2: And is that why you've gone back and just kind
- 4:41Speaker 2: of like trying to see both sides now? And like,
- 4:43Speaker 2: is it like damage control now of the original?
- 4:46Speaker 1: Well, I don't see both sides. I think his quote
- 4:48Speaker 1: unquote joke was not funny.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Cause just because it's, I think from like a comedy standpoint,
- 4:53Speaker 1: I was watching his monologue and I'm like, this guy's
- 4:55Speaker 1: on the biggest stage in comedy and this is what
- 4:58Speaker 1: we're allowing up there. Like we're supposed to, like I'm
- 5:01Speaker 1: supposed to sit there and go, Oh, that's a comedian.
- 5:03Speaker 1: He literally just called women whores. Like that was his joke.
- 5:06Speaker 1: I think I was like, this is so dumb.
- 5:07Speaker 3: There's no substance to it.
- 5:08Speaker 1: So what I'm trying to say is what I posted
- 5:10Speaker 1: this morning, I felt like was a I was like,
- 5:13Speaker 1: if I was Shane Gillis and I was going to
- 5:15Speaker 1: do that joke, because I understand what he's trying to say.
- 5:17Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, yeah.
- 5:18Speaker 1: I don't see his side. I think calling women whores
- 5:21Speaker 1: is not a funny joke.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Correct.
- 5:22Speaker 1: But if you want to comment on the fact that
- 5:25Speaker 1: women are wearing tiny outfits to the gym, you can
- 5:28Speaker 1: make a joke there. And so the comment I made
- 5:30Speaker 1: this morning after letting it bake a little bit longer,
- 5:32Speaker 1: which is what I should have done, I said he
- 5:34Speaker 1: probably in all— In his defense, he probably thought he
- 5:38Speaker 1: was at the gym when he went to the strip
- 5:40Speaker 1: club because his heart rate got up. Anyway, that was
- 5:42Speaker 1: a joke that I made. And so, like, I think
- 5:43Speaker 1: that's funny because it starts out with you think I'm
- 5:47Speaker 1: apologizing to Shane Gillis. I'm like, in defense of Shane Gillis,
- 5:50Speaker 1: you've got one person on your side. And then you
- 5:53Speaker 1: swing back around with a punchline that actually makes sense.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Yes.
- 5:56Speaker 1: That gets the other side on your side. And therefore,
- 5:58Speaker 1: you've made a joke that's actually unifying because it's funny
- 6:01Speaker 1: and it makes sense to both people.
- 6:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:03Speaker 2: I liked your original post because you said about the
- 6:05Speaker 2: what the outfits actually look like, you know, because all
- 6:07Speaker 2: women are like, oh, this is what you find attractive.
- 6:09Speaker 1: This is I'm like, you need to find better slots.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Like if you think because what's so funny is the
- 6:14Speaker 1: guys in the comments are so willing to die on
- 6:16Speaker 1: the Shane Gillis Hill that they're willing to look me
- 6:19Speaker 1: in my wrestling singlet eye, which they're First of all,
- 6:24Speaker 1: half the comments, because you don't need to go in there,
- 6:26Speaker 1: half the comments are like, that's not even a wrestling singlet.
- 6:30Speaker 1: You're clearly not very smart if you think that's a
- 6:32Speaker 1: wrestling singlet. Meanwhile, it's like two inches away from being
- 6:34Speaker 1: a wrestling singlet, my outfit. You can't take it that literally.
- 6:38Speaker 1: I'm wearing something that could quite literally be a wrestling
- 6:42Speaker 1: singlet if my torso was four inches shorter. That's the joke.
- 6:47Speaker 1: That's why I said I'm wearing a big whore outfit.
- 6:49Speaker 1: It's literally a wrestling singlet. Because I'm calling out the
- 6:52Speaker 1: fact that if I wore this as lingerie in front
- 6:54Speaker 1: of a man, he'd be like, what are you wearing?
- 6:56Speaker 1: And so these incels are so willing to double down
- 6:59Speaker 1: on the fact that they agree with Shane Gillis' joke
- 7:04Speaker 1: that they're willing to put in my comment section, yeah,
- 7:07Speaker 1: you're a whore. You're dressed like a whore. I'm like,
- 7:09Speaker 1: you literally look so stupid saying that.
- 7:11Speaker 2: Correct.
- 7:11Speaker 1: You look so dumb because just tell me you don't
- 7:14Speaker 1: get laid by hot women because women aren't wearing that
- 7:17Speaker 1: to get laid.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Correct. And I think it's like the kind of guys
- 7:20Speaker 2: that would go into the comments of a post like
- 7:21Speaker 2: that and then try to double down on it or
- 7:24Speaker 2: even continue that type of language.
- 7:27Speaker 3: You're a weird dude that's a weird dude to do so.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Those comments don't bother me what was a little scary
- 7:32Speaker 1: is seeing the pick me women in the comments being
- 7:35Speaker 1: like basically trying to say I wasn't wearing the exact
- 7:38Speaker 1: outfit he was describing I'm like I quite literally am
- 7:40Speaker 1: you can't even see he was talking about the shorts
- 7:43Speaker 1: that scrunch in the back I'm like if I turned
- 7:45Speaker 1: around you would see that my shorts scrunch in the
- 7:47Speaker 1: back and are designed specifically to shape your butt a
- 7:50Speaker 1: little bit now were they the exact scrunchy ones no
- 7:53Speaker 1: but it's the same thing I'm like we're just we're
- 7:56Speaker 1: just looking through things with a fine tooth comb to
- 7:59Speaker 1: call me a whore on the internet, which is just
- 8:00Speaker 1: objectively so funny. Yeah.
- 8:02Speaker 2: I think, I think your approach to it is actually
- 8:04Speaker 2: really funny. What you said yesterday was the only commentary
- 8:06Speaker 2: I saw of the whole Shane Gillis thing. Now I'm
- 8:08Speaker 2: seeing it all over my feed this morning.
- 8:09Speaker 1: So I posted the one that I said on the
- 8:11Speaker 1: show today, which is basically like, he probably thought he
- 8:13Speaker 1: went to a strip club and thought he was at
- 8:14Speaker 1: the gym. Like that's, that was my joke. Cause I
- 8:17Speaker 1: think that's funny. Cause I'm grabbing both people and going,
- 8:20Speaker 1: let's laugh at this together.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:21Speaker 3: Like we could acknowledge it.
- 8:22Speaker 2: You know, we could acknowledge that some of the outfits
- 8:24Speaker 2: are like, dang. Okay.
- 8:25Speaker 3: Like, But you do you.
- 8:27Speaker 1: You're welcome to make a comment on how women wear
- 8:29Speaker 1: tiny outfits. But also, if he really wanted to bring
- 8:31Speaker 1: in both sides, he could have. ended some kind of
- 8:35Speaker 1: comedic narrative with being like oh but it's fine men
- 8:37Speaker 1: have their nipples out or something like that you know
- 8:38Speaker 1: what I mean like there's a joke there he just
- 8:40Speaker 1: didn't work hard enough for it.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Yeah but as one of the biggest comedians in the
- 8:43Speaker 2: world right now.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Yeah so I think ultimately if I would have gone
- 8:46Speaker 1: back and done things differently I would have just posted
- 8:49Speaker 1: what I posted today and not tried to stir up
- 8:51Speaker 1: controversy because at the end of the day I don't
- 8:53Speaker 1: like being controversial.
- 8:53Speaker 2: On the internet yeah yeah even though like I mean
- 8:56Speaker 2: I look at it my eyes go Cool. Like you
- 8:58Speaker 2: got some good engagement. Yeah. But I also understand like
- 9:01Speaker 2: the stir of the pot, you're all going to get
- 9:02Speaker 2: both sides and both sides, even though if it's going
- 9:04Speaker 2: to fuel engagement, it doesn't always feel good to have
- 9:06Speaker 2: your phone on fire for those reasons.
- 9:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:09Speaker 3: No, I get that. I thought it was a good.
- 9:10Speaker 2: Take on it and I know it's going to just
- 9:12Speaker 2: continue to come back at you for it. How is
- 9:14Speaker 2: the rest of your weekend and everything that was going
- 9:16Speaker 2: on here? You talked a little bit. Did you end
- 9:18Speaker 2: up going to the lightning game last Thursday?
- 9:20Speaker 1: Did you go to the lightning game?
- 9:21Speaker 2: Yes, I did.
- 9:22Speaker 1: I did go to lightning game. It was a good time.
- 9:24Speaker 1: It wasn't that good of a game. It was probably
- 9:26Speaker 1: the most boring game I've seen all season. The one
- 9:28Speaker 1: on Saturday that I streamed was insane. Like the goals
- 9:31Speaker 1: that we got, we got five goals against the Islanders.
- 9:33Speaker 3: I did see that.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Literally insane. My weekend was ultimately fine. Just putting out
- 9:38Speaker 1: fires on social media.
- 9:40Speaker 2: As you're posting more, I've noticed like as I was
- 9:42Speaker 2: going through, it felt like, I don't know, like two,
- 9:45Speaker 2: three posts a day, which is good.
- 9:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:47Speaker 2: That's what, you know, you're the quickest one to put
- 9:48Speaker 2: them up there, whether it's sports or pop culture moments.
- 9:51Speaker 3: It was starting to really pop off.
- 9:52Speaker 1: I know. So anyway, that's my weekend update.
- 9:54Speaker 3: Damn. What a weekend, Abby.
- 9:56Speaker 1: I know.
- 9:56Speaker 2: Jesus.
- 9:57Speaker 3: I know.
- 9:57Speaker 1: I'm just getting in fights with people on the internet.
- 9:59Speaker 3: That's the good stuff. Yeah, that's what gets you going.
- 10:01Speaker 2: Well, over the weekend, I was getting in fights with
- 10:03Speaker 2: myself over this weekend that I had planned for like
- 10:07Speaker 2: five months, six months of putting Key West together. And
- 10:10Speaker 2: when I first came on the podcast and I talked about,
- 10:13Speaker 2: all right, I'm going to Key West. I'm getting a catamaran.
- 10:16Speaker 2: We're going to rent it out as an Airbnb. Yeah.
- 10:18Speaker 3: Abby, you were straight up. You thought that was a
- 10:20Speaker 3: horrible idea.
- 10:20Speaker 2: It was.
- 10:21Speaker 3: Here's the deal. All right, let's just square one.
- 10:24Speaker 2: First off, could I have done that better? Yes. Right
- 10:28Speaker 2: off the bat. I talked a little bit about it
- 10:30Speaker 2: on the show today, but we get to the catamaran,
- 10:32Speaker 2: and we're in Florida. It's still hot as hell outside.
- 10:35Speaker 2: We get to the catamaran. I even paid extra to
- 10:40Speaker 2: check in early.
- 10:41Speaker 3: Check in early.
- 10:41Speaker 2: Walk on a boat. Okay. The cabin's 103, and I'm like,
- 10:45Speaker 2: holy shit.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Like, what is going on?
- 10:48Speaker 2: I'm trying to keep my cool because now everybody in
- 10:50Speaker 2: the group is starting to lose it. Like there's some
- 10:51Speaker 2: people that are like, it's broken. We need refunds. I
- 10:55Speaker 2: don't have money to get a hotel. We need to
- 10:57Speaker 2: start finding new plans.
- 10:58Speaker 3: I'm like, all right.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Everyone stay the, calm down.
- 11:03Speaker 3: We're going to figure this.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Out because one of the, this is why I started
- 11:06Speaker 2: getting so hard on myself is I doubled down when
- 11:08Speaker 2: I first was booking this catamaran and we talked about
- 11:10Speaker 2: it on the podcast.
- 11:11Speaker 3: One of the reviews said it does get hot. Just
- 11:13Speaker 3: be aware.
- 11:14Speaker 2: But that was like from December. So maybe they didn't
- 11:17Speaker 2: have a so I messaged the host, which I think
- 11:19Speaker 2: is an AI bot. And I was like, hey, like,
- 11:21Speaker 2: just I need to confirm that it now has a
- 11:23Speaker 2: C because we're going to be there in October.
- 11:25Speaker 3: I got the confirmation.
- 11:26Speaker 2: There is a C. So as we get on the catamaran,
- 11:28Speaker 2: it's one hundred and three.
- 11:29Speaker 3: I'm like this. I'm ever like.
- 11:33Speaker 2: You said it was, we had something. Do we not
- 11:35Speaker 2: have anything? We find a button, we turn it on.
- 11:38Speaker 2: It's blowing air, but it's not cold air. So it's
- 11:41Speaker 2: like circulating hot air. I feel like I'm in an oven. Luckily,
- 11:46Speaker 2: we have a friend.
- 11:46Speaker 1: That's pretty anti-Semitic of them.
- 11:48Speaker 2: Jesus.
- 11:50Speaker 3: Is that bad?
- 11:51Speaker 1: Can I make that joke?
- 11:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:53Speaker 2: Okay.
- 11:53Speaker 1: Scotty's Jewish and he approves this message.
- 11:54Speaker 3: There you go. I laughed.
- 11:56Speaker 1: I just need the double check since, you know, with
- 11:58Speaker 1: the whole Shane Gillis thing.
- 11:59Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 12:00Speaker 2: Well, we go all in our rooms. We're trying to
- 12:02Speaker 2: find it, and it's just, we're sweating. Everyone just looks
- 12:05Speaker 2: so disheveled, and I feel so bad. And I look
- 12:07Speaker 2: at my best friend who helped me book this.
- 12:09Speaker 3: This was both of our ideas. It wasn't just mine.
- 12:12Speaker 3: He influenced me. He's like, we should do this catamaran.
- 12:14Speaker 3: That'd be fun. I was like, yeah, we should do it.
- 12:15Speaker 3: We look at each other. We're like, I think we
- 12:16Speaker 3: just made the biggest mistake of this trip.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Yeah. We brought all these people from around the country.
- 12:20Speaker 2: We paid thousands of dollars, and there's no A.C., I'm like,
- 12:26Speaker 2: we just need a break. We're going to go to
- 12:27Speaker 2: a little resort pool, get a drink. Everyone's going to
- 12:29Speaker 2: hang out for a second. We're going to figure it
- 12:31Speaker 2: out because I put a message to the host. I
- 12:32Speaker 2: was like, what the hell is going on? We need
- 12:34Speaker 2: to figure this thing out. As we're sitting at the
- 12:37Speaker 2: pool and we're drinking, we get a message from one
- 12:40Speaker 2: of my best friends that's like, guys, I got it going.
- 12:43Speaker 2: He's the one that actually looks at the instructions and
- 12:45Speaker 2: watches the videos. Found all the buttons. Cool AC going.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Oh, yay.
- 12:50Speaker 2: So it ended up being an extraordinary stay on this
- 12:54Speaker 2: catamaran for AC.
- 12:56Speaker 3: There are other parts that started falling apart.
- 12:59Speaker 2: As soon as we got the AC going, it was
- 13:01Speaker 2: like one issue, and as soon as you fix it,
- 13:03Speaker 2: another issue pops up.
- 13:04Speaker 1: Like whack-a-mole?
- 13:05Speaker 3: It was crazy.
- 13:05Speaker 1: Whack-a-catamaran?
- 13:07Speaker 2: All of a sudden, there's liquid that starts pouring from
- 13:09Speaker 2: the ceiling.
- 13:10Speaker 1: You don't want that in a boat.
- 13:11Speaker 2: You don't want that in a boat. So all of
- 13:13Speaker 2: a sudden, we're throwing a trash can under the ceiling
- 13:15Speaker 2: as water is pouring through because the AC hasn't been
- 13:19Speaker 2: on in a while. That was the AC or whatever that's,
- 13:21Speaker 2: you know, the coolant or something.
- 13:23Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 13:24Speaker 2: It had to defrost somewhere. It just happens to be
- 13:26Speaker 2: in the middle of a catamaran. So it's just pouring
- 13:28Speaker 2: on the floor. We throw a trash can in it.
- 13:30Speaker 3: A couple things fell off the walls.
- 13:32Speaker 2: The bathrooms were a little weird because the bathrooms had, like,
- 13:35Speaker 2: the toilet and the shower all in one.
- 13:37Speaker 3: So you're literally showering right next to the toilet.
- 13:39Speaker 2: It's not like there's a wall.
- 13:41Speaker 3: It was a very weird stay.
- 13:42Speaker 2: However, it was extraordinary to have everyone in one location.
- 13:46Speaker 2: So the catamaran, I will say, if you've been listening
- 13:48Speaker 2: to the podcast since the time I booked it, it
- 13:51Speaker 2: ended up working out.
- 13:53Speaker 3: It was a huge plus.
- 13:54Speaker 2: Barely.
- 13:55Speaker 3: We were on the edge.
- 13:57Speaker 2: This trip in general, I will say there was a
- 13:59Speaker 2: couple categories. There was the great moments.
- 14:01Speaker 1: Okay.
- 14:02Speaker 2: There were the rough moments, and there was the pure
- 14:04Speaker 2: learning lesson ugly moments.
- 14:06Speaker 3: I will say.
- 14:07Speaker 1: So it was 75% bad? Well, no.
- 14:10Speaker 3: It was 50-50, 60-30, 10% bad.
- 14:15Speaker 2: 60-30?
- 14:15Speaker 1: 60 really good. Okay.
- 14:18Speaker 3: 30% learning lessons. 10%. Scott, you need to think through
- 14:22Speaker 3: these things next time.
- 14:23Speaker 2: What's the 10%? The 10% is trying to do things
- 14:26Speaker 2: that sound like a good idea, but not understanding the group.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Wow, that's so you.
- 14:32Speaker 2: Well, I'll give myself credit because I did a really
- 14:35Speaker 2: good job for a lot of things. One that I
- 14:37Speaker 2: did really good on was bringing everyone out. We went
- 14:39Speaker 2: on this snorkeling adventure, brought everybody on another catamaran.
- 14:44Speaker 3: And we went snorkeling.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Big boat weekend.
- 14:46Speaker 3: Big boat weekend. And it was awesome.
- 14:48Speaker 2: We went down there, saw a big ass sea turtle,
- 14:50Speaker 2: saw a grouper. I even was able to take my girlfriend, Brianda,
- 14:54Speaker 2: who doesn't know how to swim.
- 14:57Speaker 1: She doesn't know how to swim?
- 14:57Speaker 3: Doesn't know how to swim.
- 14:58Speaker 2: What?
- 14:59Speaker 1: Okay, why doesn't she know how to swim?
- 15:01Speaker 3: Never, one, I mean, it's just like access growing up.
- 15:03Speaker 3: There's no reason to. Parents don't know how to swim.
- 15:06Speaker 3: We live in Florida.
- 15:06Speaker 2: I know, but like she lives in the middle of
- 15:08Speaker 2: the state. So it wasn't like a thing of, it
- 15:10Speaker 2: just wasn't a thing that was happening.
- 15:11Speaker 3: Okay. So like never really needed to.
- 15:14Speaker 1: She doesn't want to now as an adult.
- 15:16Speaker 3: Well, it's just a lot of fear comes with it.
- 15:18Speaker 3: It's a scary thing.
- 15:19Speaker 1: No, for sure.
- 15:20Speaker 2: So it wasn't, it's something that like, Maybe now.
- 15:23Speaker 1: So wait, you knew your girlfriend couldn't swim and you
- 15:26Speaker 1: took her snorkeling?
- 15:28Speaker 2: I ran it by her multiple times.
- 15:31Speaker 1: Okay.
- 15:32Speaker 2: And we came to the conclusion, we'll find a way
- 15:34Speaker 2: and maybe get a life jacket, get some noodles, you know,
- 15:37Speaker 2: if you want to.
- 15:38Speaker 3: If not, no big deal.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Okay.
- 15:41Speaker 2: So we went to two stops on the snorkeling trip.
- 15:42Speaker 2: The first one, she did sit out. And to be honest,
- 15:46Speaker 2: I felt really guilty. I was like, I feel bad
- 15:50Speaker 2: because I want everyone to be a part of this.
- 15:52Speaker 2: But because we talked beforehand, she really reassured me.
- 15:56Speaker 3: She's like, I'm good.
- 15:57Speaker 2: Like, I don't want to. There's no pressure. I'm going
- 15:59Speaker 2: to take videos. And we had another friend that, like,
- 16:02Speaker 2: left their contacts on the boat. So they had to
- 16:03Speaker 2: wear glasses. So they couldn't go anyway. So they just
- 16:05Speaker 2: sat together on the boat and.
- 16:06Speaker 3: They had a conversation.
- 16:07Speaker 2: Okay, yeah.
- 16:07Speaker 1: Awesome.
- 16:08Speaker 2: But then after we had our little seafood buffet and
- 16:11Speaker 2: we had a couple of mimosas, she was feeling confident.
- 16:14Speaker 3: She got her ass in the water.
- 16:15Speaker 1: Okay.
- 16:16Speaker 2: And so we got her a life jacket, a couple
- 16:19Speaker 2: pool noodles.
- 16:20Speaker 3: She was able to float on.
- 16:21Speaker 2: The surface and we just– This is where I was
- 16:23Speaker 2: so impressed by her. To have the courage to do
- 16:27Speaker 2: something that is truly terrifying for anybody that, like, again,
- 16:31Speaker 2: when you don't know how to do something, I mean,
- 16:32Speaker 2: it could be anything. But for people that don't know
- 16:34Speaker 2: how to swim, forget.
- 16:35Speaker 3: The open ocean. I know.
- 16:37Speaker 2: And we're just holding our hands, going through the open ocean,
- 16:40Speaker 2: staring down at the bottom of the floor.
- 16:41Speaker 3: I have never been more.
- 16:43Speaker 2: Impressed with somebody, more inspired by someone saying, I don't
- 16:46Speaker 2: know how to do this.
- 16:47Speaker 3: I'm going to do it. And I'm still terrified.
- 16:49Speaker 2: And so it ended up being an extraordinary, probably the
- 16:53Speaker 2: best experience of the trip. Everyone had a great time.
- 16:55Speaker 2: We danced on the boat. We had amazing time in
- 16:57Speaker 2: the water. Got to see things that, truthfully, and she
- 17:02Speaker 2: even said this to me, she's like, I don't think
- 17:03Speaker 2: I was ever going to be able to see that.
- 17:04Speaker 3: But we were able to go over a reef together. Extraordinary.
- 17:08Speaker 2: That's my high. I tried to do it again for
- 17:11Speaker 2: another adventure.
- 17:12Speaker 1: Okay, so the low was when she drowned?
- 17:15Speaker 2: She's still with us, y'all.
- 17:16Speaker 3: She's at the apartment right now.
- 17:17Speaker 1: She's good. Okay, so what's the next one?
- 17:19Speaker 2: I had this romantic idea of going around Key West
- 17:22Speaker 2: on a bike. She doesn't know how to ride a bike.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Not a big fan of them. So I got us
- 17:28Speaker 2: a tandem bike. It was the dumbest idea I could
- 17:31Speaker 2: have had. Because we got on this tandem bike. Have
- 17:33Speaker 2: you ever ridden on one? Yeah.
- 17:35Speaker 3: They are hard as shit.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not fun.
- 17:37Speaker 2: No. Like on a movie, it looks so easy.
- 17:40Speaker 3: You see other people go by, it looks so smooth.
- 17:42Speaker 2: Yeah. It's not that way. You're like balancing each other's weight.
- 17:46Speaker 2: Every little turn that you do of the little handlebars,
- 17:49Speaker 2: that could be catastrophe. Here's where, I've said this on
- 17:52Speaker 2: the podcast before, I hate electric bikes.
- 17:55Speaker 3: Like I'm starting to have a burning passion that I'm
- 17:57Speaker 3: against them.
- 17:58Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Well, as we're trying to go on the sidewalk, electric
- 18:01Speaker 2: bikes are flying by. They're flying towards us.
- 18:04Speaker 3: She's stressed. I'm stressed.
- 18:06Speaker 2: I'm thinking this was going to be a romantic little
- 18:08Speaker 2: outing in Key West as we go out to lunch.
- 18:10Speaker 3: It's everything but that.
- 18:12Speaker 2: Oh, no. We're trying to get up this bridge, and
- 18:14Speaker 2: here's where I knew I made the mistake. On our
- 18:16Speaker 2: way down the bridge, as we're going like 30 miles
- 18:18Speaker 2: an hour on this tandem bike.
- 18:19Speaker 3: Oh, God.
- 18:20Speaker 2: And I'm like, Scott, you idiot. You had this whole
- 18:24Speaker 2: idea that you're going to just go ride bikes through.
- 18:26Speaker 2: And you didn't think about this one, that the roads
- 18:28Speaker 2: are crowded, that there's bikes flying by, that at one
- 18:31Speaker 2: turn you could literally kill both of you. So we
- 18:34Speaker 2: get to the restaurant. We finally make it in one piece.
- 18:36Speaker 2: We get off and we just look.
- 18:37Speaker 3: At each other. And we're just drenched in sweat.
- 18:40Speaker 2: Oh, no.
- 18:41Speaker 3: Just like literally to the point where I'm like. Scott,
- 18:44Speaker 3: you dumbass.
- 18:45Speaker 2: This is the dumbest thing you could have thought would
- 18:47Speaker 2: have been... It's 90 degrees outside. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You
- 18:50Speaker 2: guys are huffing and puffing up mountains and up bridges
- 18:52Speaker 2: to get to this location. You made a mistake, sir. Sometimes,
- 18:56Speaker 2: you gotta know when to fold them. And that's my
- 18:58Speaker 2: moment where I literally... I was like, I looked at her,
- 19:00Speaker 2: and I will say... We did a lot of communicating
- 19:03Speaker 2: on that bike, so it was healthy for our relationship.
- 19:05Speaker 1: I was about to say, Mike, I feel like it's
- 19:06Speaker 1: a good relationship exercise.
- 19:08Speaker 2: It was. To be able to, like, literally, like, all right,
- 19:10Speaker 2: we're braking now. All right, foot down together. All right,
- 19:12Speaker 2: we're going to turn to the left. We're going to
- 19:13Speaker 2: slow down. All those things are good. All positives for
- 19:16Speaker 2: the relationship. But I had to know when to fold
- 19:18Speaker 2: them when we got to our destination. I had to say,
- 19:20Speaker 2: you know what? I made a mistake with this idea.
- 19:22Speaker 2: I thought of it one way. It's not turning out
- 19:24Speaker 2: that way. I hate to be a quitter, but I'm
- 19:26Speaker 2: folding it in. I'm going to go return the bike,
- 19:28Speaker 2: and we're going to go get a golf cart instead.
- 19:30Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 19:31Speaker 2: So. As we're eating our lunch, I literally, I rode
- 19:33Speaker 2: the bike back and I got a golf cart for
- 19:35Speaker 2: ourselves for the last day.
- 19:36Speaker 1: Well, at least you called it when you could call it.
- 19:38Speaker 3: It was a learning lesson.
- 19:40Speaker 1: If you rode that thing back, I would be shocked
- 19:42Speaker 1: if you guys were still together.
- 19:44Speaker 3: It was such a test. It really was.
- 19:45Speaker 2: Because it's like when you're in high stress moments, like
- 19:48Speaker 2: that's how you know you have to have the right partner.
- 19:50Speaker 2: Because any other situation, any other person, we would have
- 19:54Speaker 2: been at each other's heads. But not one point where
- 19:56Speaker 2: we like mad at each other. What's kind of interesting
- 19:58Speaker 2: is we were both mad at ourselves in that moment.
- 20:01Speaker 2: I was mad at myself for thinking this was going
- 20:02Speaker 2: to be a great idea. She was mad at herself
- 20:04Speaker 2: for being like, all right, well, I wish I could really,
- 20:06Speaker 2: you know, get on this bike and be great at it.
- 20:09Speaker 3: I was like, look, I don't care about that.
- 20:11Speaker 2: I should have known that. I should have known that
- 20:13Speaker 2: going into this. And instead I got us on bikes.
- 20:16Speaker 3: You fool.
- 20:17Speaker 2: But I will say we finished with a high because
- 20:19Speaker 2: the golf cart was a much better idea. More expensive,
- 20:21Speaker 2: but a lot more fun.
- 20:22Speaker 1: Who doesn't love a golf cart?
- 20:23Speaker 2: It was a good time around Key West. A lot
- 20:26Speaker 2: of learning lessons along this way.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Well, traveling together will teach you a lot about the
- 20:29Speaker 1: other person.
- 20:30Speaker 2: You thought airports are stressful? Get on a tandem bike together.
- 20:33Speaker 2: Get on an adventure in the middle of town. It
- 20:36Speaker 2: was a lot of fun. There was a lot of
- 20:37Speaker 2: good moments. There was a lot of rough moments. I
- 20:38Speaker 2: will say that was one of the roughest. Yeah, give
- 20:40Speaker 2: me a good moment. A good moment was like we
- 20:42Speaker 2: got out, and the first night we went out, we
- 20:45Speaker 2: went to this beautiful restaurant called Sunset Pier, where it's
- 20:50Speaker 2: literally what it is. It sounds like it's a pier,
- 20:53Speaker 2: and you get the most beautiful sunset. So we're sitting
- 20:55Speaker 2: there having an extraordinary dinner. We go out and hit
- 20:59Speaker 2: some of the parts in town. But I'm learning as
- 21:01Speaker 2: I get older that I don't really need to be
- 21:04Speaker 2: in a crowded bar anymore. So we like called it early,
- 21:06Speaker 2: went back to the boat. Everyone drank some wine, had
- 21:10Speaker 2: some conversations. My brother brought a speaker. So we're listening
- 21:12Speaker 2: to music, having a good time.
- 21:14Speaker 3: Extraordinary.
- 21:15Speaker 1: Oh, I love that.
- 21:16Speaker 2: One more bad moment.
- 21:17Speaker 3: Oh, God.
- 21:18Speaker 2: I know. Here's where it gets rough, y'all.
- 21:20Speaker 3: This is actually.
- 21:21Speaker 1: Remind me not to go on vacation with you. I know.
- 21:23Speaker 2: Well, it's about how I handle it, because sometimes life
- 21:26Speaker 2: throws you lemons that you just need to know how
- 21:27Speaker 2: to squeeze.
- 21:29Speaker 1: Sometimes you know the lemons are going to get thrown
- 21:30Speaker 1: at you.
- 21:31Speaker 2: This was one of those moments, but we couldn't see this.
- 21:33Speaker 2: This has happened to everyone, by the way. So my
- 21:35Speaker 2: brother and my best friend went out fishing on our
- 21:37Speaker 2: last day, and they caught a bunch of fish, and
- 21:39Speaker 2: so we had to find a restaurant to go cook
- 21:40Speaker 2: it at.
- 21:41Speaker 3: Everybody does it there.
- 21:42Speaker 2: So we found us a restaurant. It was probably the
- 21:46Speaker 2: worst restaurant experience I have ever gone to. Oh, no.
- 21:50Speaker 3: It sucked.
- 21:51Speaker 1: How did you choose the restaurant?
- 21:52Speaker 2: It was just one of the popular ones along the docks.
- 21:55Speaker 1: Okay, so it just looked like people are here, must
- 21:57Speaker 1: be good.
- 21:58Speaker 2: One of the most popular spots. That's what's kind of
- 22:00Speaker 2: like shaking up my brain a little bit. I'm like,
- 22:02Speaker 2: how could they have been so bad? Here's where it
- 22:04Speaker 2: got really bad. My brother, like they literally bring like
- 22:07Speaker 2: six fillets of fish.
- 22:08Speaker 3: Boom, put it on the table. The waitress comes up
- 22:10Speaker 3: and she's.
- 22:10Speaker 2: Like, all right, well, that's going to be $ 25 for
- 22:12Speaker 2: everyone that wants a piece of that fish. That already
- 22:15Speaker 2: starts the fire in everyone's eyes. They're like, wait, what
- 22:17Speaker 2: the fuck? We literally caught the fish. All you have
- 22:20Speaker 2: to do is literally throw it on the grill and
- 22:21Speaker 2: everyone's going to get charged 25 bucks to have the
- 22:24Speaker 2: fish that we caught. Now look, I can understand that
- 22:27Speaker 2: as a business perspective. If we're not ordering your food,
- 22:30Speaker 2: get it. You got to pay for something. So we
- 22:33Speaker 2: have to narrow it down as people are like starting
- 22:35Speaker 2: to lose their minds. They're like, I just want a
- 22:36Speaker 2: bite of it. So I have to narrow it down
- 22:38Speaker 2: to my brother and my best friend. I'm like, y'all
- 22:39Speaker 2: are the only ones, quote unquote, that are going to
- 22:41Speaker 2: order this. So not all of us get charged $ 25. Yeah.
- 22:45Speaker 2: This controversy goes on for the next 30 to 40 minutes.
- 22:48Speaker 2: They're bringing out managers to talk to us. Our group's confused.
- 22:51Speaker 2: The managers are confused. And then they finally go cook
- 22:54Speaker 2: the fish. We have somebody in the group that can't
- 22:57Speaker 2: have fried food. They come back with the food fried
- 23:01Speaker 2: of the fish.
- 23:02Speaker 3: So they're upset.
- 23:03Speaker 1: My blood pressure is so high just thinking about this trip.
- 23:06Speaker 2: Just to kind of speed it up a little bit,
- 23:07Speaker 2: we got there at 8. We're now sitting, it's 10
- 23:11Speaker 2: o'clock at this damn restaurant. I have this golf cart
- 23:14Speaker 2: for like another hour. We're running out of time. We're
- 23:17Speaker 2: all like a little wine drunk, so that doesn't help
- 23:19Speaker 2: at all either. We end up being at this restaurant
- 23:21Speaker 2: for like three hours because they couldn't get the orders right.
- 23:25Speaker 2: They couldn't, oh my God, when they tried to bring
- 23:26Speaker 2: out the checks- to try to divide it up with
- 23:29Speaker 2: who got what, it was a whole other 30 minute debacle.
- 23:34Speaker 2: So here's where I'm at with the situation right now,
- 23:36Speaker 2: because everyone's steaming. I'm a guy that I get upset
- 23:38Speaker 2: in the moment, but I'll like literally forget it in
- 23:40Speaker 2: the next 10 minutes. I will let that go as
- 23:42Speaker 2: soon as we walk away. Everyone is in the chat
- 23:45Speaker 2: right now, writing and rewriting reviews to leave for this
- 23:50Speaker 2: restaurant of like the most horrific things that you could
- 23:54Speaker 2: say about a place.
- 23:55Speaker 3: And I don't know where I stand on it.
- 23:56Speaker 1: It's like Regina George writing in the burn book, like,
- 23:58Speaker 1: this loser fugly biatch.
- 24:00Speaker 2: This is the worst experience of your life.
- 24:02Speaker 1: With the fried fish.
- 24:04Speaker 2: I don't know how to go about it because part
- 24:06Speaker 2: of me wants to say, guys, it happened.
- 24:08Speaker 3: It is what it is.
- 24:10Speaker 2: It doesn't happen all the time. Maybe it was an
- 24:12Speaker 2: off day. Honestly, felt really bad for our waitress because
- 24:14Speaker 2: I know she was stressed. She's worried about getting fired.
- 24:17Speaker 1: Well, you also have to remember, like, what is the
- 24:19Speaker 1: purpose of writing a bad review? Like, do you think
- 24:21Speaker 1: you're going to warn other people from having this experience
- 24:23Speaker 1: or do you want to help the restaurant improve their
- 24:26Speaker 1: what's going on with them? Like, because you could always
- 24:27Speaker 1: send an email and be like, listen, this is what happened.
- 24:29Speaker 1: It seemed like everybody else in the restaurant was having
- 24:31Speaker 1: a good time, but we did not.
- 24:32Speaker 2: That's a good point.
- 24:33Speaker 1: You're going to get way farther with that.
- 24:35Speaker 2: That's how I think it should be too because I
- 24:37Speaker 2: don't think the review is going to do anything. The
- 24:38Speaker 2: review to me is kind of like just pouring salt
- 24:41Speaker 2: in a wound. It doesn't really heal it. You're just
- 24:43Speaker 2: getting your anger out. My anger is already gone from
- 24:45Speaker 2: this moment.
- 24:46Speaker 1: That's why I don't read reviews or take reviews. I
- 24:49Speaker 1: don't read our reviews unless somebody believes it's constructive, if
- 24:54Speaker 1: that makes sense. Because sometimes people will just hear you
- 24:57Speaker 1: say something or they'll go into your business and they
- 24:59Speaker 1: won't like one thing and it triggers them so emotionally
- 25:03Speaker 1: that they give you an emotional response that is not
- 25:05Speaker 1: constructive yeah.
- 25:06Speaker 3: Like you're writing and yeah yeah it's a perfect way
- 25:08Speaker 3: to say it if.
- 25:09Speaker 1: You could send an email and you're like listen Abby
- 25:11Speaker 1: made that joke about the catamaran being too hot and
- 25:14Speaker 1: her Jewish friend Scott in there you know what I
- 25:16Speaker 1: mean and I found that very offensive that's totally different yeah.
- 25:19Speaker 2: It's like I could understand being you know a critic
- 25:23Speaker 2: and giving the good and the bad I haven't even
- 25:25Speaker 2: read it though like because I was like they're going
- 25:27Speaker 2: back and forth last night it's like this.
- 25:28Speaker 3: Is what I want to say this is what I
- 25:29Speaker 3: want to say here's how.
- 25:30Speaker 1: AI helped me and I'm like Here's what Chet should
- 25:32Speaker 1: be too sad.
- 25:33Speaker 2: That's a much better idea to send the email. Because
- 25:35Speaker 2: if anything, you know what? Mike, I don't know. Next
- 25:39Speaker 2: time you go, whenever that will be, like a free dinner. Yeah.
- 25:42Speaker 3: A free something. Understanding.
- 25:44Speaker 2: A growing opportunity.
- 25:45Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe they'll get your email and be like, you
- 25:47Speaker 1: know what? We're going to wipe your bill or whatever.
- 25:48Speaker 1: So you'll see a refund on your credit card or something.
- 25:50Speaker 1: You're more likely to get that than if you were
- 25:53Speaker 1: to leave a nasty review.
- 25:54Speaker 2: I agree.
- 25:54Speaker 1: And hurt somebody's business when maybe it was just an
- 25:56Speaker 1: off moment. You have no idea. Yeah.
- 25:58Speaker 2: That's how it felt. Like, it just felt like things were,
- 26:00Speaker 2: and that was our last day. So I will say
- 26:01Speaker 2: like the ugly part of it was that that last day,
- 26:04Speaker 2: everything was misfiring. Like when I went out and got
- 26:07Speaker 2: that bike, misfire. We went out to this restaurant, try
- 26:10Speaker 2: to get a nice dinner, misfire.
- 26:12Speaker 3: I was like.
- 26:13Speaker 2: The hell is going on here.
- 26:14Speaker 1: Thank god i was not on the birthday trip it
- 26:16Speaker 1: was oh it was a good time i would say
- 26:18Speaker 1: all in all but i know i know 85 i
- 26:20Speaker 1: know how that feels though as somebody who runs girls
- 26:21Speaker 1: trips like there's nothing worse than being the leader of
- 26:24Speaker 1: the group chip trip and something like that's why i
- 26:26Speaker 1: talk about fairy gate all the time because i'm like
- 26:27Speaker 1: the most miserable i've ever been in a foreign country
- 26:29Speaker 1: was on this big ass ferry when we all thought
- 26:31Speaker 1: we were gonna be on a catamaran yeah.
- 26:33Speaker 3: Like were you just like sitting there you're like this
- 26:34Speaker 3: is on me.
- 26:35Speaker 1: I was like well i mean it wasn't really on
- 26:37Speaker 1: me but it was kind of on me because i
- 26:38Speaker 1: was told it was a cruise around the islands of
- 26:41Speaker 1: course i'm what do you I wasn't thinking we were
- 26:42Speaker 1: going to get put on a big ass ferry because
- 26:44Speaker 1: otherwise I would have thought it would have said big
- 26:46Speaker 1: ass ferry in Greece. It said boat cruise. What was
- 26:49Speaker 1: I supposed to think? But now I know. And so,
- 26:51Speaker 1: you know, just like the Shane Gillis thing, something goes
- 26:53Speaker 1: wrong and you learn from it and you get better
- 26:55Speaker 1: from it.
- 26:56Speaker 2: Literally.
- 26:56Speaker 1: Just like you with this trip. So next time you
- 26:58Speaker 1: plan a trip, you won't drown your girlfriend or boyfriend.
- 27:01Speaker 1: get concussions on bikes, et cetera, et cetera.
- 27:04Speaker 3: Oh, God, just misfire after misfire.
- 27:06Speaker 2: But all in all, 85%, I give myself a B
- 27:09Speaker 2: for having a trip planned, doing it all myself, friends
- 27:12Speaker 2: getting together, success.
- 27:14Speaker 1: Just do not sign up for Boys Gone Getaways with Scotty.
- 27:18Speaker 2: I do want to make more of those trips happen
- 27:20Speaker 2: for the group, though, because you really realize, like, you
- 27:23Speaker 2: only get so many of these trips where everyone gets together. Like,
- 27:25Speaker 2: that's what made me so emotional over the week is
- 27:27Speaker 2: I would look at my friend group, and I'm like,
- 27:29Speaker 2: I'm so grateful. Because it is so rare to get
- 27:33Speaker 2: the people that you love the most in one setting.
- 27:35Speaker 3: Think about it.
- 27:36Speaker 2: It's like maybe next time it's like a wedding.
- 27:38Speaker 3: Yeah. Engagement party.
- 27:39Speaker 2: People get kids and they get busy with jobs. And
- 27:42Speaker 2: to get everyone together, I looked at everyone. I was like,
- 27:44Speaker 2: I'm just so grateful you took the time to go
- 27:46Speaker 2: through this experience together. And it was kind of corny,
- 27:49Speaker 2: but I did. I was like, I gave a speech
- 27:51Speaker 2: and everything.
- 27:51Speaker 3: And I got a little emotional. Played Sarah McLachlan in
- 27:54Speaker 3: the background.
- 27:55Speaker 2: In the arms.
- 27:56Speaker 3: Literally the song.
- 27:57Speaker 2: Of Scott Tavlin. But it was an extraordinary trip. And
- 28:01Speaker 2: we were worried about the tropical storm or whatever.
- 28:05Speaker 3: No problem at all.
- 28:05Speaker 2: I know.
- 28:06Speaker 1: It was sunny here. I was like, if it's sunny here,
- 28:07Speaker 1: it's got to be sunny in Key West.
- 28:08Speaker 3: It was awesome. The boat was rocking a little bit
- 28:11Speaker 3: with the waves, but nobody got sick.
- 28:12Speaker 1: Okay, love.
- 28:13Speaker 3: So everything was a win. And the one thing that.
- 28:16Speaker 2: We looked at doing that we didn't do, and if
- 28:18Speaker 2: you've ever gone, it was just more of an interest.
- 28:21Speaker 2: There's this place called the Garden of Eden. It's a
- 28:24Speaker 2: nude bar they have in Key West.
- 28:26Speaker 1: I was about to say, I'm like, I read about
- 28:27Speaker 1: that in the Bible.
- 28:28Speaker 2: Well, very different than Key West.
- 28:30Speaker 3: We went up there.
- 28:32Speaker 1: You were going to do the nude bar?
- 28:33Speaker 3: I just wanted to take a look.
- 28:34Speaker 1: You are an exhibitionist.
- 28:35Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 28:36Speaker 2: Maybe. I don't know. I just wanted to take a
- 28:37Speaker 2: little look. See what it was about.
- 28:38Speaker 3: But we did decide last moment. We're like, you know what?
- 28:40Speaker 1: I can't even imagine your girlfriend in that moment being like,
- 28:42Speaker 1: you want to go check out the nude bar and
- 28:44Speaker 1: have a look?
- 28:45Speaker 2: No, no. I think it was more so like we've
- 28:46Speaker 2: talked about it. We've joked about it. And at the
- 28:48Speaker 2: end of the day, I was like, you know what?
- 28:50Speaker 2: F it, guys. Let's just go see it. If we're
- 28:51Speaker 2: going to keep talking about it, let's go see it.
- 28:53Speaker 2: We got up there.
- 28:54Speaker 3: And we decided, nah, we're not going to do that.
- 28:56Speaker 1: Is it clothing optional or do you have to be naked?
- 28:58Speaker 3: Yeah, you don't have to be naked.
- 28:59Speaker 1: So you didn't even go in for a little bit
- 29:00Speaker 1: to see what the situation was?
- 29:02Speaker 3: Nah.
- 29:02Speaker 1: Why do we feel like they say it's a nude bar,
- 29:04Speaker 1: but there's just like one weird old guy in the
- 29:06Speaker 1: corner with his pants off?
- 29:07Speaker 2: That's what we did have one friend that went up
- 29:09Speaker 2: there to just take a look.
- 29:10Speaker 3: He's like, I'm going. They went up, and they're like,
- 29:12Speaker 3: it's literally like that.
- 29:13Speaker 2: Like, a majority of the people are clothed, but there
- 29:15Speaker 2: are a few people, and it's mostly older, that get
- 29:17Speaker 2: completely naked.
- 29:18Speaker 1: I wonder what it is about getting old when you
- 29:20Speaker 1: look the worst you've ever looked, that you just want
- 29:22Speaker 1: to get naked.
- 29:23Speaker 3: I think you just don't care anymore.
- 29:24Speaker 1: Maybe it's because you know you don't look so good
- 29:26Speaker 1: that you're just like, whatever. Like, what are people going
- 29:28Speaker 1: to do? Ogle me? Yeah.
- 29:29Speaker 2: Thank God. What am I worried about? Like, you've had
- 29:32Speaker 2: your partner, you know, or maybe you've had multiple partners.
- 29:35Speaker 3: I don't know. And you're just, you're cool.
- 29:37Speaker 1: For me, I just don't want to give that away
- 29:38Speaker 1: for free. Like if I'm going to show people my boobs,
- 29:40Speaker 1: they're going to pay me.
- 29:41Speaker 3: Well, they have other places.
- 29:44Speaker 1: There's other uses for my boobs other than just free advertisement.
- 29:47Speaker 3: Going up to the top.
- 29:48Speaker 1: Can you imagine free titties in 2026? Hell no. In
- 29:52Speaker 1: this economy?
- 29:52Speaker 2: No. Then the Keys, well, that's actually what everyone was
- 29:55Speaker 2: like kind of commenting on my stuff for. They're like,
- 29:57Speaker 2: why did you go now?
- 29:58Speaker 3: And you could have went at Fantasy Fest.
- 30:00Speaker 2: Have you ever heard of Fantasy Fest down there? It's
- 30:02Speaker 2: like a huge celebration in Key West. But it is,
- 30:05Speaker 2: to make it simple, it gets freaky. People do like
- 30:07Speaker 2: all body paint. They go out in the streets naked.
- 30:10Speaker 2: It's just like a whole thing. In your free time,
- 30:12Speaker 2: look up Fantasy Fest. That's like the big thing down there.
- 30:15Speaker 2: We were going at one of the tamest times, which
- 30:16Speaker 2: honestly was quite the gem. But we didn't do that
- 30:19Speaker 2: one activity, which I look back on now. I think
- 30:21Speaker 2: that was a good reason. I think that was a
- 30:23Speaker 2: win to not go up to the nude bar.
- 30:25Speaker 1: I'm glad it worked out.
- 30:26Speaker 3: It was all a success. All a success.
- 30:28Speaker 2: So as you're planning your trips, have somebody in the
- 30:31Speaker 2: group that's actually really good at looking at instructions.
- 30:34Speaker 3: Do your due diligence.
- 30:35Speaker 2: And I will say those are moments where reviews truly matter.
- 30:38Speaker 2: And I wish I would have looked a little more in,
- 30:40Speaker 2: but we did survive everything that went down with Key West.
